About the show
Stoney Richards, with a career that spans 36 years in radio, TV and Film, has spent the last 15 years in Pittsburgh at CBS. With a leading country music show, Stoney has entertained Pittsburgh since 1998 every weekday afternoon from 3-7 on WDSY-FM (Y108). Stoney came to Pittsburgh from Los Angeles, and along the way has worked in Detroit, Cleveland and Washington DC. He has the distinction of working with the three major broadcast network companies through his career, NBC, ABC and now CBS and is the local Pittsburgh chair of the SAG-AFTRA Broadcast Steering Committee. As an actor, Stoney has been in a long list of major studio films as a Principal Artist. On TV he’s been in the Emmy Award-winning “St. Elsewhere,” the “Bob Newhart Show,” “The Guardian” and many more Movies of the Week. In film, he’s been in a long list of feature films including, “Three Men and a Little Lady” with Ted Danson, “Punchline” with Tom Hanks and “Predator 2” with Danny Glover and Bill Paxson. Recently he played a priest in Scott Cooper’s “Out of the Furnace” and soon to be seen in “Those Who Kill” on A&E. Stoney has worked extensively in the theatre appearing Off-Broadway and in regional theatres around the country, has done countless voiceovers and syndicated radio shows. He’s happy now to add NewsRadio 1020 KDKA to his life on the air.
