About the show
Pat hosts his show, The Pat Walsh Show from 7-10 pm, M-F on NEWSRADIO KFBK. You can also catch sports highlights from Pat weekday afternoons on the KFBK Afternoon News with Kitty O'Neal from 4-7 pm. Pat is a native of Elk Grove and a graduate of Elk Grove High School. He attended Butte Community College where he earned his AA degree in Communications. He is also a graduate of California State University, Chico where he received a degree in Communication Arts and Technology. Pat was a finalist for a 1989 Emmy Award for Video Documentary and has won numerous awards throughout his career, including being named Sacramento's "Best Sports Broadcaster" several times in Sacramento Magazine. Pat's interest in sports came from his father, Bill Walsh, who played for the Sacramento Solons during the 1950's. He aquired his passion for music from his mother Theresa, who sang in a local country band in the 1970's. Pat began his broadcasting career as a disc jockey, as well as sports and news anchor/director for KPAY radio in Chico, CA from 1990 to 1993. He then became a news anchor and morning show producer at Talk 650 KSTE, Sacramento from 1994 - 1996. In 1996, Pat became the sports anchor at NewsTalk 1530 KFBK. Pat's interests includes music festivals, record collecting, sports, camping and the arts. Pat is a fan of Frank Zappa, The Andy Griffith Show, the Kings, Rams and Dodgers.
