"Jamie Lee David van Kim, and Scott Robbins. Making sense of it. All. And having some fun. This is the Markley van camp and Robin. Joe? Do it the van David Robert J remarkably. That's David van camp there. Scott Robbins, okay, what's going to happen next with Iran go? This was some scary news to wake up to because you're hoping that there are some cool heads in Washington right now in response to this, but President Donald Trump put out an ominous message to Iran after news broke that their military shot down a US drone as it flew over the strait of hormones. Now the US is saying these were this was flying over international waters. Iran says no, you're in our airspace. And we shot it down. For some reason, I'm trusting US officials little bit more than officials in Iran, I could be crazy. Maybe some reason maybe that's just by bias. I admit it, I, I tend to believe America more than Iran, so you can call me biased in that regard. But I, I tend to believe what US officials are saying because this isn't even, you know, this isn't a political thing. It's, it's the US central command is saying that yes in Iranian surface to air missile shot down a drone that flew over international waters. Iran's. I'm not trying to sound like Lindsey Graham here. I'm really not to warmonger, but as you're saying, I hope cooler heads, prevail. Yeah, I'm not so sure. See I do. So what, what Trump wrote on Twitter was Iran made a very big mistake. And we'll have more of what the Trump is what the president is talking about throughout the show when it comes to this pretty serious situation. I think my my reaction to this though is nobody was killed. Yes, this is an aggressive act, of course. But I mean, if they're you know, you've heard people saying, we need to maybe consider a retaliatory strike against Iran, all of that stuff. I'm not so sure that that's that, that would be the best course of action. That's what I'm saying. Honestly, is that I'm not sure that's why I'm saying, I'm not sure like usually it's someone says cooler heads, prevail. Meaning don't do anything down saying, I'm not there. I'm not saying, don't do anything I'm saying, don't I? I mean, if we're if there's any conversation about bombing anybody right now you've heard some people suggesting that I think that would be a mistake at this point, just because again, nobody it's one thing if they had shot down a plane, and we lost servicemembers somebody was killed, but this is a drone that got shot down. What are you going to do? Wait till some of our people do get killed. I think what you can do is do sort of like the quit hitting yourself or no, not touching. You touching. You just send up like two hundred drones just right on the border there to just circle around circle around circle around some of these spots may be where we know there's uranium being enriched. Maybe a little drop sqi. Now, see, I made a little drop point, I would not be in favor of that. I'm not see. But what I'm saying is, I'm not sure I'm not gonna just come on. And pretend like I absolutely no. But man, Iran. Does this all the time, Ron Iran whatever they have been doing this for years? Why? Because it's allowed to happen. And they think nothing's going to happen. Yeah. Well, they're like the kid that isn't get enough attention pay to him. Kid like you're not paying enough attention to me. So I'm going to set the curtains on fire. I'm over here. Well, we're tired of struggling economically were tired of what's going on? So we're going to lash out with. Yes. Yeah. Maybe Rocco bridge Robbins, missile, maybe you can go and I don't know by them, a couple of geckos or something and. Yeah. Right. But they, they did like petulant children when you don't pay attention to them. They do something to provoke you to force you to pay attention to him. I don't want another endless war in the Middle East saying that either. Absolutely not. I agree with you on that. But we'll get deeper into that coming up a little bit later in the show for Joe Biden. He's got a fight on his hands. Yes, he does it is own party well, because well here, I mean he defended segregationists, and I. you know again for a party that that has been talking endlessly about dog whistles woida seems really weird this seems very close to joe biden basically giving a stamp of approval to people who were okay with separating blacks and whites but he's basically saying you've got to work with people right yeah it was terrible what they were i could work with people right and yeah he's getting called but he's not only is he getting called to the carpet on it he's not backing down from that no he's not cory booker comes out and says he needs to apologize joe biden comes back and says no he needs to apologize to me well i think it was interesting because president trump was on hannity show on fox news last night and talked a little bit about well the spying on his campaign in the russia investigation and it almost sounds like he's admitting what he's been through the last couple of years it's only made them stronger and he brings up joe biden in this context sweetie Should never happen to another president because many of them would not be able to handle it. I don't care who they are. Many of them would not be able to handle Joe Biden. I mean Joe Biden you right now. He'll cut some big problems. Joe biden. It wouldn't be good never happen to another president what happened. Me very and I think he's right. I mean any other president, we've talked about this before after going through what he's gone through would probably crumble right now. I was thinking about this the other night with him. And he really in a lot of ways, you know, how he cares, because he watches cable news. And he cares about polls, all those things that we know at the same time he knows how people detest him and he just rolls. There's very few people that can do that. He's fine with it. Yes. I don't know that Joel would roll that way. Well, I think the difference there though is that Donald Trump will tell you what he thinks, and he's gonna come out and he's gonna fight back. You know, he talks about being a counterpuncher blah, blah, blah, all that stuff. But he doesn't have that filter, he doesn't have to bottle up the anger, right? He'll just still just tell you what he thinks no doubt no doubt. Now, as far as the Democrats in general. Alexandria, Cossio Cortez. Okay. Even though really there are a lot of people in the country don't even know who she is the people that do follow. No. And she's a problem for the Democrats right now. And that's becoming more and more apparent because even some resistance Democrats with this whole concentration camp thing that she's gone that she's been doing this week. Even some resistance Democrats are saying, okay, you're not helping us right now because you're trying to your forcing us to defend the indefensible, and if you missed it, what, what Alexandro Cossio Cortez had said earlier in the week, she had compared, what's going on, at the border to concentration camps, even bringing up the phrase, never again, which is a direct reference to the holocaust, and she's denying that it is. It's it's ridiculous. She's, she's arguing back and forth. And it's putting Democrats in a in a tough spot. Now, she does have some defenders, you know, like the CNN contributor, we talked about yesterday, Angela rye, who said we are heading towards death camps. And then you're hearing reaction from some. The democratic leadership or presidential candidates like Julio on Castro. He's all on board with what Alexandro Cossio Cortez said. Disapp- residential candidate. Yes, yes, it is. He's leading. Yes. Anyway, go ahead. I agree with the sentiment behind what she said, which is that we can't take this as normal. This is cruelty for these children. We've had folks who study these things say that these children, a lot of these children. These people are going to be affected for their whole lifetime. And so we can't write it off. And we should focus on what she was trying to say, which is that we need to end this and ended. Now, it okay so just everybody who's folks that he refers to. I always liked that. Well, it folks, tell me this, tell me that and I don't know who he's referring to what folks, he's for referring to telling him, these things, right. This. I, I don't know. It's, it's it's frustrating to hear that because what is and you brought this up before Scott. What is the solution? What do you really want to do? There isn't one the their they don't have one. No. The answer is you just let everybody in. Well, yes. I mean if that's an answer. Yes. That's that nothing. That is their answer. Do nothing because he has if you ask the question, and I think it's a fair question. Okay. So thousands of people what one hundred thousand people plus show up at our southern border asking for asylum or ask him to come in. What is your solution? And you're saying, we can't detain people. We can't follow up with them. If they're here illegally and they wanna driver's license in New York. That's fine. They can do that. And we're not going to turn over their information to federal authorities. That's the solution in their world is open borders. None of them have the guts to say it yet. It sounds awful to say it sounds elitist. I really do believe it though you have so many people that follow along with what some of these people on the left are saying, and it's almost like talking to a kid that cut grass for the first time and they make their twenty dollars. And you say, okay, you gotta give four dollars of that away to the other kids, that weren't working. Okay. Yeah. Why would I do that? Well, because you've got to pay in, you know, and well they didn't have access to a lawnmower. Uh-huh. Yeah, but they could have got it from somebody else that could have. But I spent the hours Moen and all the sudden they realize, okay, this is what we're talking about with different parts of socialism. Right. And with, you know, these people that are like, yes, we can't do that. We just can't put people in cages. I get it, it looks awful at the same time. We have no money or country is trillions of dollars in debt and we have a humanitarian crisis because we have nowhere to put these people. I'm going to I'm going to go cover another trial. It's been a while. But I'm going to go there and say, like, oh my gosh, the defendant might actually be put in cages. That's not who we are the person who committed a crime can't be separated from their families. Equal broke the law. Yes. I know some brought kids in so they'd get the free pass that whole bit. And some of those stories are heartbreaking. It's also a lot of single dudes. Yes. And I don't have as much sympathy. No. And they've been lied to because somebody that they can come in and they'll get a work permit. Right. You also had Representative Henry, Henry clay are who's asked about it on CNN. He didn't condemn what AO had said. But at least he said, the words are inaccurate. I'll, I'll give him that. Okay..

"But even better than articulating it he enacted we have a full board of collar. So let's go in here from some of them. And then we'll come back to our guests. This is David calling from Akron, Ohio. David thanks for calling on point in and give us a sense of how you would assess the legacy of George H W Bush, particularly when it came to a Soren policy. Well, I I. Interested in all this talk about foreign policy, and I'll be honest with you. I never thought about showed in the time that he was president. And I'm a political fanatic. I more involved in politics, and I would like to be followed closely. I think of this George Bush as being someone who kind of took the presidency with the Hippocratic oath in that who is determined not to do any harm. And he not only didn't do any harm. He did great about a good. Not the least of which I have a stepson that was in the Kuwait drawer and brought him home safely. And you know, he just he was yes, he was cautious. But you have to be cautious. And it's it's such a contrast to or. Seeing now from that office. It's it's regrettable where it is deemed you said that despite being what you call it, a political fanatic when Bush was in office, you didn't think much about his foreign policy. Why do you think that was the case? And even though there's so much emphasis on it. Now. I I don't know. I really I was I was I appreciate the comment by Colin Powell, another one of my favorite people at our in our history. In fact, I wrote him in for president last when Trump was running. I couldn't put a next either one of the candidates, and I knew calls go go anywhere. But he's a man I respect I just you know, he is. Did you knew that, you know, he conducted the war in Kuwait admirably, and you know, help with general Schwartzkopf, and hey, just he didn't blow his own war. He didn't say look I did this. I did this Calgary IM is what we did. And he got along with other countries rather than the contrast with what we're going through. Now, it just keeps in. In the back of my mind, where we're alienating former friends in the world, and they wonder what in the world is going on. And and where is their place in this new world of today? -veloping I hope it some point soon somehow this gets reverse, and it goes back to having somebody in the office with with George Bush common sense and common decency. I think if I had to put my take on him as as a person, and as a president is you is a decent. Good van David. Thank you for that. That was David from Akron. And I want to note that David talked about Bush not wanting to sort of brag or talk about himself. He often talked about how that was imbued in him by his family, particularly his mother. She thought it was unseemly to refer to yourself too much. He grew up in a very Aristo hanging. At critic family were manners were very important. That was a big issue for him. Let's go to Barbara calling from Binghamton New York Brahma. Thanks for calling on point. And your thoughts about Georgia. Bush, particularly his foreign policy work. Thanks for taking my call. I think that were were looking back on it perhaps with some rose colored glasses as all of the other callers have said the contrast is amazing. Between Bush and Trump and while I remember not liking Bush when he was in office again like everybody else, and basically because of the Clinton campaign, we were looking at the economy and two were not as conscious of foreign policy, but we didn't need to be because Bush hadn't been making a huge stink over it. And it was a pre nine eleven world. So there were different types of issues. We were dealing with. Exactly. And we it was a matter of assuming that we were the superpower and run the Berlin Wall has was going down, and we had won the Gulf war. But we expected to. So it's. But you know, all of that being said, I would..

"Summer vacation. Detective Pika choose not too. Right. Right? Exactly when it feels like, oh, the culture is hinging here. Right? Where the beginning of shift? Yeah, right? Yeah. At a fulcrum point, it is. I do look at how much I have soiled. This podcast with my influence and I look at like, right, almost all things go on, go on like, okay, you know, Ben's always like, you know, it's good for ratings when we do new movies, obviously, other than our franchise directors, let's look for the ones that jump out and almost all of them are children's films like it's good for ratings when we do like hotel Transylvania. I mean, I haven't looked at the ratings, but was that like a significant? You know, did the Transylvanian roll up the to not. Official. I'll tell you something great episode. Fran Hoffner told me best episode of the year for really? Yes. I'll tell you something. I heard that that Roberts listen to that episode user. Yeah, really. I don't want to reveal my sources, but I was talking to someone who had gotten into the podcast right has worked. It was dragged. Who had worked with smuggle and was like, you know, I've been listening to podcast. They did a whole episode on the whole Transylvania movies, and he was like, we people like they did. I wrote those in a day successful people talk about those Syria. I would assume that he is. He thinks that, you know, it's all kids like no one, no grown up with care about that, but he's not met Griffin. Then he listened like a one of these is a kid. This is that like camera Jackson guy. So this is a rare modern release that isn't a starring talking animals. We're going to cover on the power about wars in stars, right? Or to DC superheroes. God VR such children, right? Yeah. But in the same way that doing the whole Transylvania series, wink wink now made Gandhi Tarkovsky director. We have to cover from here on out. I'm fine with that. We're kind of we're put in a claim in this director now. I mean, I think by doing this episode, we're going to have to cover any other films directs right in this guy's going to keep trying. I can't wait to see what he does next is it's either going to rule or suck like the Bernstein, didn't he get the Bernstein writes fielders he's doing the vans, David, bribery read to inform you that they meant della act has taken over. You know, I know. I know he's doing the Leonard Bernstein bears some movie like his, his died so many times. But yes, you're right at forgot. Got the right to be going after aggressively wants to get another look at it. But, but this is a rare example because that's why inaugu jump to bond, right? Yeah, because he competing strict Joel and jolly would have been a good bet Dylan host, good for it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. I mean, I wouldn't have thought Bradley Cooper be good is like roots rock. You know, fucking musician..

"We mentioned on the podcast before because Jason thought, because you just had a baby that should be Brandon Lewis, the party chairman for the Tory. So neither would vote in these crunch votes. Brandon is did. There was quite love outrage. Taking the on Twitter and Jillian Smith, the chief whip and Brandon. News for quick to say, sorry to this wasn't honest mistake the times today claiming that it wasn't so nice. Actually, she ends Memphis trying to encourage other MP's on pairing arrangements to do similar thing because they were so worried about this vote. You've had Andrea leads him today, is that she was one of the MP's ONA Perry arrangement, and she received no such instructions, but I think we'd just go to see weather story goes because the times of the grants to think this is the case. Hence, when they ran with it, I think is very bad optics for the government. And lib Dem's went to make as much political capital out this possible. So they're trying to get an edge question on it and trying to get and Smith to give a statement in the highest. It's just quite wrath or chief whip today. I've personally suspect that Janine Smith is safe for this reason which is what you would need to force him out essentially would be for one of these MP's in a pairing arrangement to come forward and say, the chief whip told me to break the Pat on. I mean, anyone who's going to do that because it would be such a brutal act to your own colleague. And Secondly, if you took down the chief whip in such a fashion, you would find that the whips office would dedicate the rest of our life to making your life difficult. So when you base it, he asked for slip to head off to your daughter's wedding or whatever you resolve is crucial government legislation. You can't leave the building. So I think you know if he's not particularly high minded honorable reasons. But for this reason, I think I find it very hone to believe an MP will be prepared to come forward and publicly stay on the record. I was told to break a pairing arrangement show, and Theresa May is not the only one bringing out her diplomatic, a game today, new brakes, it's extra Dominic. Robb will be meeting Michelle Baena. In Brussels, James, what can we expect from that meeting those women's dome it wrong, trying to say on going to be more involved in these negotiations, van David Davis was one of Davis's, great complaints. Was he being Kakata of a loop on this? I think we wait to see where we get. There's no joint press conference Barney, but we wait to see what we get any hint from that. All what Bonier thinks of jackets plan. The word is that the commission on hugely skeptical but are trying to say, made that to opiates katie's love stay in the punt call Asia and also because they wanna find the trees may is forward. They they still regard her as the best person for them to negotiate with and they want more, but it's going to built in the UK which ruling on checkers would do. I wasn't as interesting because we will see a very different dynamic. I think between dome rob Amodio, Bonnie David, a very proud of the idea that he was kind of charming Boston the he could get on with these guys, all very smooth. I don't. Rob will seek a different kind of relationship with Michelle von perhaps more confrontational, perhaps more direct. Yeah, and we are going to get MS charbonnet conference on Friday, but it'd be answering questions from Jan this. So I think depending on how that goes, might James says, has skeptical that should revved up the engines from some exciting Sunday front pages of angry, Brexit, Erin, MP's, love it, and James labor, having troubles, too. That's an extraordinary from page from the Jewish chronicle this morning. What does it say? It takes on the Margaret Hodge comments about Jeremy Kuban legend. Here's a kind of anti Seema in a racist because of this refusals looking broadly accepted definition of antisemitism in the labour party's rules. I think this is quite extrordinary because the Jewish clinical doesn't normally do from pages like this, and it is a fact that this is happening..

"Especially don't wanna lose isaiah right amis i think their biggest threat to make an explosive play at any time you get the ball in his hands at this would be another big loss for temple let's take a look this marshy passes thrown in off his back foot you know four defenders right there one couple receive is late in the down you he's a younger guys gonna keep learning but especially after through the pick six just through worry kind of the same thing you gotta be careful with the football we have a coach with the vikings would say that the hopes and dreams lie in your hand when you're caring at the ball when you run it stared down at eighteen now for while she the bush vowed the balls nearby was uncatchable ball or they do all throughout their flags they do throw the flyer backers basler variance defense number one thing i penalty automatic first out so they call trade bell for the past interference saw this play that looked uncatchable me but that he wrote on the right side of the screen emmys out of bounds he push him out of bounds balls near but that deng touchable at the huge coal ugas is the ball to thirty yard line and after the pick six temple a first down out two it's thirty i the tied at goes you mostly lake keep it on the ground at eggers david hood forty one yard line another first down parlor coyle may the play on the fourth year van david hood who appears to be lifted off the field a little bit he is.
