It's not a theory it's a it's a distillery and brewery and we're sitting upstairs in the room so first of all. Tell us a little bit about this building because this is an amazing set that you have here. Thank you well first of all. Thank you for coming to see us. Today we're thrilled to have you We're sitting in the historic hub theater. It was started in nineteen twenty six and finished in nineteen thirty one and Was a live theater. Initially and then in the fifties became a movie theater. Okay somewhere in this afternoon. Perhaps Early days absolutely. Does Rick do a little song and dance interested only in way so how? How long was it lying obsolete before somebody had the brilliant idea of turning it into something really useful? Sure it was like most downtowns When the interstates were built they bypass a lot of the downtown's so you know it. It fell on some hard times. Starting the mid seventies and on and off operated as the a movie theater For the ensuing twenty to twenty five years starting the mid nineties or was probably closed more than it was open and then permanently. Close Two thousand eleven. They believe you may get a little echo on this one because it's quite cavernous right Ken. Z. Were basically sitting. Where if this had a balcony we'd be in the balcony looking back towards where the screen would have been about what we're looking at is an astounding array of large for Menta's and I guess you've got mash tons distilling side of it. I think in just a little bit But as we look at it there's also the magnificent what looked to be copper tubes with Little Portholes. Any idea that is those are the stills. Happy People view the world differently than can I say unhappy people. How do you view the world you can have every single day? Go Party or you. Positively person where it's just nothing but positively and it's not working out for you see you think it should be like this but you look at their and it's not that way and that in your every single day if I push more positively in the world is going to be that way and I think that might be true as well too long haul on that one I have to say is a challenge out there right now but but but yeah. It's we have to have that. Are you grow person? Do you do say everything's run. A non optimistic person fee will about negative person. How do you view the world I will tell you this people are generally happy have really rewire themself? Say See the world as it is and I've had this skill set in my brain for a long time and I do believe it's a skill set because I was confused back in the day and I think alert a skill set to see the world for what it is and still Kinda do capacity to see differently to make differently than that. We're longtime a long time ago when I when I decided to come out of high school if you knew me in high school when I grew up in a little town in Manassas Virginia High School called Stonewall Jackson. If you knew me back then you knew that there was one thing that Scott was going to do. He was going to be a big time. Radio Dj that was it was fun. Man Let's have some fun. Listen the radio listen big time radio. Dj guys the DC area big radio station code WPRO. See The goodguys. I call them. I said one day. I'm going to be that good guy. W PG see the change format before. I had the chance to get there but I was. I went onto be good guide other places all over the country. I realized something once it got work in the real world. Man People are pretty unhappy they are. It's like I'd go. So what are you? You're wearing t-shirts you're eating pizza. Give it away t shirts and other people you having a good time talking on the phone and why you unhappy. You don't have a real job. I don't understand this. Look at the sales of the radio stations in all kinds of money. I said why are YOU UNHAPPY? And it took me a few years to get to the point of going. Well I guess some people just that way because I was never that way but it was a shocker. Back in the beginning I so I have to look at the world differently because evidently this is not gonNa go away. Have you noticed that you can move away from people in the world? You can move away from anybody you've ever known he come back ten years later and they're still unhappy or is still putting their unhappiness on you. They may be happy themselves. But they're making you unhappy right but when you find those folks who see the world differently who understand what the world really truly is. They hold a bit of a dual capacity. They can see the world exactly as it is and yet had that place in their mind where they can reframe decide. Let's make this place better. I think it's hard to do. I do pretty naturally these days. It's the only thing I really truly understand. So how do they see the world? It's rose colored glasses right. They went down to the Walmart bottom suburbs at a rose colored glasses in a works. Maybe the amber wins worked. The Blue blockers remember those. I don't think so I think just have a better way. So if you WANNA see the world we're a happy person sees the world and you may already know if you already. Are that kind of person. See if this works for you see if this is what you're already doing if you're not listened closely and this might be a big challenge for you because I'm GonNa tell you you're gonNA get out of bed tomorrow morning so I'm going to do this. I'M GONNA go see the world who a happy person does and it's GonNa be Kinda hard to really have to be committed to it ready first off happy people like you're GonNa be our right now except that life brings problems it does. You're going to get rain yard just when you don't need it. It's going to snow just when you don't want it. Gave you a flat tire right minute. Middle that snowstorm archerd. So it's going to happen when you least expect it. Something's going to happen so happy. People kind of accept that now. I'm going to tell you I don't know that happy. People always go. Whoa look at that a problem. I think they probably go just kind of deal with it at all. I say most everything that we run into our life is self inflicted and it is a privilege it is. I was driving a Porsche through the mountains. One TIME COMING DOWN DENVER INTO DENVER out of a Frisco Colorado racing the airport really cool car and I got a flat tire I was running late and he was about twenty five degrees. I don't know what to do. Started to grow a little bit and then I was looking around with Iraqi balanced. Kinda hard to do that about that time. Construction work on the side of the road came up and said I can help you with that. I couldn't get man. It was drowned. Fancy car is in the mountains the Rocky Mountains Colorado. I was going to go take an airplane. Ride still remember to this day. You saw it a little bit differently. You don't ever to happy. People they recognize. That problems are a privilege just like that driving. The Mountains Porsche comes with being alive. It truly is a privileged one day. You won't have that privilege so life is going to bring a problem and it's a privilege of being alive is why you got that problem. Happy People do get frustrated but they don't give up you see. They realized that while we don't want them and we try to do everything we can. Make sure we don't have problems in our life. Problems are normal. They're going to happen from time to time. Just when you least expect it. Happy People know that they also know that. They need to accept responsibility for solving. Those problems are just hoping they go away. Not just hoping somebody else will take care of it but actually solving those issues this problems that come into your life because they're going to be there anyway and if you had the ability to solve them personally. I believe that's a privilege because a lot of folks don't have that mindset if you literally can say well this is not what anybody else wants to change. Make better I nor do I. I'd rather not but I have the skill set and I had the right attitude. Let me go fix it. Happy People also deal with anything like threads throws at them they do you do to you very much the same. If you're not completely happy in your world but really happy people just say here comes and then they go sleep and they try to sleep the best they can and then they get up and they do it all over again and probably say just like I do. Let's see what happens today.

A Recipe for Rudolf's Christmas Cookies

"Tis the season for cookies and these little treasures remind me of Rudolph and ingredient and equipment list at the end of this video. The big surprise is that none of the typical cooking ingredients like flour. Sugar eggs are needed for this recipe. Start by pre heating your oven. Seven to three hundred and twenty-five degrees line of baking sheet with sides with nonstick tin foil. If you only have regular tin foil you have to grease the foil with CRISCO or cooking spray putting a large bull three or four cup of raisins three Fourth Cup of sliced almonds three Fourth Cup of shredded coconut and two cups of crush. Cornflakes it's mixed everything together. And then measure three Fourths Cup of Sweden condensed milk and mix that in as well placed not quite one fourth cup of the mixture onto onto the foil. Line oven tray. These cookies don't really spread or change shape when they're baking so they don't have to be really far apart cut the candied cherries in half and one half cherry on each cookie. We sure each cookie. Stay squished together. You may have to pat the edges with your fingers to keep them together. Bake the cookies for fourteen to fifteen minutes or until they reach a light golden color. Let the cookies cool for about five minutes before removing them from the trae they're delicious as as is but let's add some chocolate but the dark chocolate chips into a small bowl. Chill Out in the Icing Research Tunnel

"Bundled up against the bitter cold. Researchers in this wind tunnel are making ice. Oh well the cold never bothered them. Anyway this is innovation now bringing you stories behind the ideas that shave our future. Olaf could spend any summer day in one of the busiest wind tunnels finals at NASA. The icing research tunnel at NASA. Glenn the Iot is the oldest operating icing tunnel in the world. Temperatures as low as negative negative twenty five degrees Celsius year round are used to create icing conditions inside the tunnel that would be faced by planes on the ground or in the air supercooled super cool water droplets form icing cloud that coats the large scale models or even full size planes within with the help of complex equipment scientists into scattered data about the temperature distribution over the objects. NASA uses that data as part of ongoing research to develop effective DE ICING AND ANTI ANTI ICING techniques. Use to protect both military and commercial aircraft. Today so the next time. You're playing being de iced. On the runway you can thank the scientists who come home from work each day frozen

The Thermodynamics Of Pizza Ovens

"The bad news for home chefs, you'll probably never be able to make the perfect Italian pizza. Don't take it personally. The reason is all science. Let's start with the basics a simple pizza has three parts a DOE tomato sauce and mozzarella though they start out raw these ingredients turned into a golden crust cooked, tomatoes and bubbly cheese. Just put them in a hot oven for just two minutes. How hot about six hundred twenty-five degrees Fahrenheit, reaching this high temperatures easy for Italian style pizzerias. According to a recent study from two hungry. Researchers wood fired brick ovens are the cause of an Italian pies perfection. Specifically these ovens have certain thermodynamic properties that conventional electric ranges just can't match. The vaulted shape of the oven is formed by curved brick walls and. A brick or stone floor as a woodfire burns, an corner. This construction ensures that heat moves around the oven getting it. Hot and creating convection currents. This means two things. First, the brick floor has an ideal thermal conductivity to cook DOE. In other words in a six hundred twenty five degree oven the direct contact of the floor to the pizza will heat, the dough to about three hundred ninety two degrees ideal for creating crispy crust second. The thermal radiation of the hot oven brings the cheese and tomato sauce to two hundred twelve degrees, allowing water to boil off and cook the pizza top fully home ovens. Of course, can't get this hot and achieve the ideal thermodynamics, but some tricks, such as using a pizza stone, and the ovens broiler may get you close this moment of science comes from Indiana, University. I'm ya'll Cassandra.

If you're sorta drew a line between Dodgeville and Marinette what's the left or that the north west of that they may be getting more than a foot of snow? What's on the other side of that would be in the single digits, but still high they're looking at five to seven to eight or nine inches on the FOX valley? And so on one two three four. Our area, and that's simply a function of where the temperature is going to be for much of this our temperatures likely to be in the mid thirties. And that's going to keep us with more rain than snow. However, the snow that we're going to get may come in during the afternoon tomorrow so tomorrow afternoon could be just it could be a real mess. When is the temperature drop after six PM tonight? We're going to drop twenty five degrees between six PM and midnight with the low tonight of thirty six degrees. Then tomorrow, the precepts starts, rain and snow. Some accumulation especially to the north again for our area. They're calling for one to three inches much more than that, Minnesota northwestern Wisconsin, FOX valley in so odd are high tomorrow, forty three degrees. The rain this though switching over to all rain by evening with that low temperature tomorrow night pretty much for the highest a low of forty Thursday. The temperatures are going to get a little bit. Mild, but very windy conditions. Showers and thunderstorms likely was strong winds out of the east at fifteen to thirty miles an hour. This thing just really going to swoop kind of roar around here in the areas that are getting snow with those strong winds. They're going to be looking at drifting and all that stuff. Again, most of that would be away from the Milwaukee area. But stiff stuff furry get a high of fifty than Friday, mostly cloudy, high fifty two Saturday, mostly cloudy, high of forty five degrees. I mentioned a little bit earlier.

This clear labeled with the I think the thing that Cole temperature charging is what people get worried about. So there there are times if you don't have the right protection in the battery. You can actually ruin the battery by charging you when the temperatures too cold. And that is something that a lot of manufacturers miss. We were the first people to come out with coal temperature charging protection so far batteries below twenty five degrees. It will not take charge are battery management system. "It's different than I skied a couple of weeks ago in eleven the grease. It's no big deal. It's going to be twenty five degrees colder than that. Okay. So I've skied in cold. I'm in cold wrap up, you're fine. And by the way, when I skied in. It was eleven degrees. It was really cold rest of my family wouldn't ski they're buddies. I'm not going outside and that's with hot chocolate scheme at I'm not going outside. So I said this yesterday on the show and the Kansas City Chiefs or trolling me. Go ahead and play. Arrowhead considered one of the loudest stadiums in America, college or pro it'll be nine below. Everybody's going to be wearing a ski mask people aren't going to be standing in cheering. They're going to be huddled wearing wool trying to stay warm wearing something over their mouths home field advantage via the crowd done. Now. I will say people will stand me if it's if for no other reason they've heard that now stand I wouldn't but they will. But if I'm crazy, you do realize it minus fifteen degrees. Nobody should have their face uncovered. Like, it's this is dangerous. So let me ask you how crazy I am with my talk. I brought out on the set actually Chicago Cubs. A muffler. This is this is what people will be wearing wigs scarf. It's a scarf. It is the same. Exact fabric of a ski mask scarf, and people are going to be all wrapped up. You. Tell me if this ounce the same and the pay. Going to be in their mouth. Okay. Tom brady. Go. Volumes change, I'm not sticking my mouth. I'm simply putting it over my mouth. I understand the concept of what you're saying. I'm crazy. It's no, I don't I think if it was very cold. But it wasn't an Arctic blast into the. The volume of the fan you and I have been in four degrees in Kansas City with Earl for thanksgiving when there was a blizzard there, and it was very coach like seven degrees. I don't know how cold it was what it was the legitimate. Minus fifteen at the airport was shut down so ever colder needs to do that. So just tell me, you don't think there's a change in volume because what a crowd does is it takes away the audible system, right? But there's also people that go out there with no shirts on that's not going to happen. You don't think they'll be one maniac with no show? There's always a drunk. Yeah. That's eight of them. Kansas City likes. It's beer. Just just just what does this sound like? Oh. You're a maniac, right? Very scientific experiment. It really was listen the environment. There is going to be as loud as pumped up and ruckus that can possibly be in that weather, however, much the weather is going to affect the trans yelling and screaming. People are going to be July Brera, you almost going to have to stand because sitting is really actually a bad idea when it's cold. I'm not saying into library. I'm not saying it's going to be like a home game. I'm just saying minus fifteen some people are going to have some things over their face. Yes. Some people any of them with an IQ higher than ranch dressing will cover their face. I wouldn't let my kids go to a game and not cover their face. I mean when when something's going in the middle of a drive, you know, you take your you take your ski mask down you take your Thermo cover down. Yeah. Oh, it's better when it's cold as to what you do. Yeah. This is what you do. You take it down for like a second. You're like, whoa. What about doing? Down. I'm telling you anyone from Kansas City watching this right now is very upset with you. And they're gonna make a point because you're saying this dry and be as loud as possible as America's media. I com. This is the very sensitive about what you say. And you didn't you didn't fire back at at Nick there. He said that you guys were were equal. You know, let's have fun. "Away and doesn't feel like anything. It's not until ten or twenty or thirty years later that you get to that like hockey stick portion of the curve that compound growth portion of the curve, and it really take. Off and habits are not exactly like that. But man, it feels like that a lot of the time it feels very much like a compounding curve where it's flat, and almost you're stuck on this plateau this plateau of latent potential as I call it before you get to those results coming and so as you just mentioned we often feel like results should be linear. I put in a little bit of work. I get a little bit of results. So maybe if I put in a lot of work, I'll get a lot of results. But so often we do exactly those things that you're saying we're putting that work in. We don't see anything, you know. It's like I've been running for a month. How come I can't see any change in my body? And I think in reality, and this is the story or now jelly to use to describe how it works. When you're building habits kinda like heating up an ice cube. You know, like imagine you're in this room. It's cold. You can see your breath there's ice cube sitting in the middle of the table. It's like twenty five degrees heat it up. Slowly, it's twenty six degrees. Twenty seven twenty eight twenty nine ice you've still sitting there thirty thirty one. And then you go from thirty. Eighty one to thirty two degrees. And it's this one degree shift. No different than all, the others that just came before it and suddenly the ice cube begins to melt you hit this phase transition. I think the process of building better habits and of banking work and putting in reps and showing up is often like that as well where you're you have to do this for a while. And it feels like there's nothing there to show for it. And eventually you get to that phase transition that hockey stick portion of the curve where you break through. And you actually have a result. There's there's a quote on the wall of the San Antonio Spurs locker room, they're like five time, NBA champions. And it's something to the effect of you know, when I feel like giving up around when I feel like now putting work in. I think about the stonecutter who takes his hammer and bangs on the rock one hundred times without a budget at all and then on the hundred and first blow cracks into and I know that it wasn't the one hundred first one that did it but one hundred that came before. And that's what building habits is like right at you put in the rep. You put in the work. You have nothing to show for it you build up that late and potential, and then if you keep showing up you end up breaking through and get a result. And so true as an entrepreneur and people listen to this. I'm sure you can relate in your own career path or you know, when you're trying to change your habit or doing anything for me starting off as an entrepreneur, I tried so many different things, and I was putting in the work over and over and over again that wasn't really making any huge strides..
