Elise Stefanik: From Republican Moderate to Trump Favourite

"Coming leadership ouster of liz. Cheney is about much more than the sacking of the number three house republican it is an unconditional surrender by one of our two major political parties to former president trump. And his big lie that the twenty twenty election was somehow stolen. Cheney's crime is not that she isn't conservative. It's that she's not conservative as defined by today's republican party which apparently means unquestioning loyalty to the defeated former president. She stands accused of telling the truth that the election was not stolen and for criticizing trump citing the january six capital interaction. This episode is just the latest chapter in the party's purging of its legacy the bushes the mccain's the romney's and now the chains names that appeared on eight of nine presidential tickets for one thousand nine hundred eighty two thousand twelve all now. Essentially excommunicated by the party's base and leadership and for one reason only the message go along with donald trump and his lies or just go away. Will this help. Republican election prospects in the short term. Perhaps but what does it mean for. Democracy when a great political institution refuses to accept free and fair election. Results and rejects. Its own who choose principle over party. I have heard from members concerned about her ability to carry out the job as conference chair congresswoman lizzie cheney facing a vote as soon as wednesday to ouster from leadership after criticism of donald. Trump's big lie at the election was stolen and his role in the capital attack. We will not forget what happened on january six and that the single greatest threat to our republic is a president who would put his own self interest above the constitution sherry me writing in the washington post this week. The question before us now is whether we will join trump's crusade to de-legitimize and undo the legal outcome of the twenty twenty election. The house republican leaders have answered. That question you know i. I've lost confidence boosting. New york's elise stefanik who trump has endorsed. My vision is to run with support from the president. What they're saying is if you don't go along with the big lie. You basically need to go so phonic voted with president trump. Just seventy eight percent of the time. Criticizing is border wall opposing him on nafta and trade even voting against his signature. Twenty seventeen tax cuts. Cheney voted with trump ninety three percent of the time once trump critic has been insulting women stefanik became a high profile trump defender during his first impeachment when she opens that mouth you at killing them. Elise trump meanwhile has denounced cheney unremittingly. This week he called her a warmongering fool who has no business and republican party leadership. The good news is in her state. She's been censured all seventeen. Republicans who voted to impeach or convict. Donald trump have faced censure votes or rebukes at home. Utah senator mitt. Proposed Tariff a Disincentive for Household Renewable Energy

"Scheme has been mooted to make us pay to put our excess energy into the grid as sola peaks in household systems. And we have spare. Is this a good idea. He alison crook a former australian businesswoman of the year. I have talked on. Previous science shows about our social enterprise in other community energy. Australia's first community owned energy retailer and about a vision for self sustaining. Resilient communities in which power is generated stored and shade locally. No one is left behind in the shift to renewables. Jobs are created locally and money is kept circulating in communities in our is now almost five years old and we have much to celebrate. We now service. The whole of new south wales and have just moved into southeast queensland whereabout to install efforts community sized battery athas social impact solar garden for community groups and low income households is operating. And we'll be reporting soon. Unauthorised pilot micro agreed fifty percent. Our profits will go back to the communities of customers and already through the generosity of customers. We've been able to provide sizeable sums to groups such as the black guy liberation ladder and the bushfire relief if it's ablaze. Eight and red cross during covid. Nineteen in twenty twenty. Some of our wonderful customers even made the solar credits on bills available to pay for the energy of households that were struggling working with community groups around the country where on the way to proving that energy companies can operate at community level and be hugely beneficial while doing so. But today i'm here to talk about a recent draft ruling by the australian energy market commission. The emc on excess pricing and incentive arrangements for distributed energy resources or as the headline news has it attacks on solar. What's to be clear. The ruling declared that the export of energy from households and other small providers by distributors. That's the polls and was is a service and it permits the distributors to charge for this service in the same way that we're currently charged by distributors to bring energy to us. The ruling has been made because agreed was constructed for one way energy flows and it is gradually becoming incapable of supporting the two way energy flows involved in twenty-first-century energy system with its massive amounts of domestic and business solo and storage already twenty percent of customers in the national electricity market have rooftop solar and this conservatively expected to double or even triple by twenty forty and all would expect to be able to export any excess energy to the

Forest vs. Highway: The Eternal Canadian Battle

"You explain them. Exactly what the conservatives are trying to do and how it would impact the green belt so the conservatives in ontario want to do. Is they want to build this highway. Which is about sixty kilometers The idea is that it would kick starts which they say we need given the economic fallout of covid nineteen and that it would also like help with those congestion issues. We're talking about the problem. Is the route runs through the greenbelt and it runs through a lot of other protected areas as well. we're talking like wetlands endangered species habitat in you know in the light of twenty twenty one. I think people people have questions about whether that's the best thing to do the other reason. This is controversial because this project was actually shelved by the previous liberal government. They studied this thing for years and years and years. What they found is that it would probably save drivers on average like less than a minute. It would also cost at least six billion dollars. That's like a low estimate and that it could have a really really difficult impact on the environment so when the progressive conservative survived. This idea which they did in twenty teen there was. There was a bit of you i think. Tell me about that. Pushback i mean for people outside of ontario And maybe even outside of toronto in the green belt area. Maybe they don't understand how bitter this fight has been better is a really good word for it. So at first the conservatives revived this idea in two thousand eighteen. Soon after they're elected they also kind of save. They want to review the environmental assessment for the highway which is like a boring word but the environmental assessment is really important because that lets the government see what the impact on the environment is going to be and it will also help them mitigate any issues so they announced that they want to streamline that and possibly start working on some early things like new bridges before that assessment is even done. There's a bit of immediate pushback from environmentalists. But it's also quiet. I wrote about it a little bit last year in the summer when the government finally announced the final route but even then it was really just environmentalists. Who were upset about it. I think The communities along route were probably supportive of that. There wasn't really a broad public pushback and then in early twenty twenty one something just clicked and it's hard to put a finger on exactly what it was

"Solidly higher than expected. But you would not know that from what is happening to the stock today. Shares of esi falling fourteen percent. I'm assuming this is just based on valuation right. Because they didn't seem to be any big red flags in their results. Yeah and we can talk about the results in a second i would say is that it looks to me like the like. The stock price is really reacting to some of the guidance. That's coming up so they're going to have a little bit more difficult year-over-year calms coming up. Because they did so well last year remember. We had all of the the masks on their platform. Everyone was was looking to buy anything. That's really what's what's causing that. But we talk about the results so I'll take a step back and just explain. What is so at the ecommerce platform for unique handmade and vintage products and its brand is so unique. That twenty twenty survey of buyers that eighty percent of buyers agreed that. Let's see has items that you can't find anywhere else and so when we look at ecommerce platforms which look at the strength of the platform and if their network so in terms of sellers so they saw an increase of sellers of this quarter so is about sixty seven percent increase year over year to total four point seven million sellers active buyers so people have been on the platform at least once in the last year. A Diagnostics Company Moves to Developing Precision Cancer Therapies

"Osama. Thanks for joining us. Thank you for having me danny. We're going to talk about four bio therapeutics. Its strategic shift from diagnostics to therapy dixon. Our seeking to build a pipeline of targeted therapies. Perhaps we can start with a little history though. Four was known as novellus deacs until this year. What was the name. Change meant to signal once again. Thanks for having me so let me let me maybe go back a little bit in time to come back to the present As you mentioned. Four prior to a few months ago was novellas novellas diagnostics company based out of jerusalem israel companies. About nine years old. It did start out as a diagnostic company The foundational product here was a functional genomics platform that helped physicians providers and pharma companies. Identify the right drugs for the right patients by looking at very specific molecular profiling by patient Over the years as the company was evolving in that diagnostic business model I think a combination of prior management and the board realized that there was a there was quite a bit of opportunity to think about diagnostics internally and develop diagnostics on their own because we were identifying unaddressed. Patient populations and matching them to therapies That were either being developed or already in the marketplace and so at believe early two thousand nineteen the board and the management team decided to pivot from a diagnostic business vital to therapeutics business model and leveraging the platform started to identify across a number of validated cancer targets unaddressed. Patient populations where there's a high unmet need and where the company could really help bring beneficial therapies to market under this scope in early twenty twenty the company in licenses its product from lexicon. It's a next generation. Be rafted addresses class one and class two mutations And within that again using the platform we have begged clearview into creative trial designs. That target high unmet need populations. These are commercially viable populations

There’s a Name for the ‘Blah’ You’re Feeling

"Many of you sent me this article that was written by adam grant so he is a organisational psychologists. He's often while i think a few times. He's been on armchair expert with docs record. Such great episodes highly recommend listening to them. He's such a great speaker but anyways he had this article in the new york times. That was all about languishing. And how so. Many of us are feeling this way. And he explains what exactly that is and some ways that you can get out of feeling that way. It's so funny to me. Because i often explain it as feeling blah because i don't know how else to verbalize it and that is literally in the title of this article. So it's called. there's a name for the blah. you're feeling it's called languishing. He describes it as being a dominant emotion of twenty twenty one. And it's interesting because they talk a lot about how when the pandemic i started and it was all over the news and we were on the super high alert mode. Almost like adrenalin was kicking in and we were like wiping down all our groceries and doing everything we could to you know. Follow the guidelines and stay safe and that has kind of worn off now and it's more so he describes it as dulling our motivation and focus. And it's not that were not staying safe now and we don't care about the guidelines it's more so that they have just become a regular part of our everyday life so we're not so much thinking about them anymore. It's just how we're living our life now like every time i get into the car. I'm using hand sanitizer without even thinking about it whereas before all these little changes to how we live our everyday life was a noticeable thing and it was a novel thing so we were constantly thinking about it and it was more of not exciting but it was just we were in that fighter flight mode and now it's just exactly what they describe it as it's very blah. It's interesting because they talk about how it can. Doll your motivation and your focus. And this languishing feeling makes it difficult to concentrate.

"So today. We're releasing a special live episode of the show. It's my conversation with paul davison and rohan. Seth co founders of the social media app clubhouse. I spoke with pawn rohan back in april for a how i built. This live event that we did on clubhouse now. If you don't know a clubhouse is that may be because you choose to ignore news and that's okay no judgment but basically it's a social media app but in audio format clubhouse allows people to an audio chat rooms to discuss anything from sports to politics to networking and currently the app has over ten million users clubhouse launched in march of twenty twenty just as the pandemic began shutting things down. The timing couldn't have been better since there was a newfound demand for people to connect. Virtually paul ro haunt of started working on what would eventually become clubhouse a year earlier in two thousand nineteen. It was the first business they ever worked on together which is surprising because before that they kind of lived. Parallel lives both attended stanford for undergrad and grad school. Both spend time working at google and both started social media apps that were eventually acquired the first place paths could have crossed was at stanford row. Han came to the. Us from india and was getting his undergraduate degree in computer. Science and paul was trying to break into the startup world while he was at stanford graduate school of business and honestly. It's probably generous to claim that. I that i knew what i was doing. I was just really interested. In getting involved in the start up world and so i like the idea of going back to stanford and just immersing myself in that so it was a great experience. I went back to school there and spent most of my time just working on independent research projects working with local startups and entrepreneurs doing small group dinners and faculty lunches and and thinking about start-up ideas and business school. Tesla's Berlin Gigafactory to Be Delayed Another 6 Months

"Everybody rob our here and today. We've got quite a few rumors through we've been hearing most this weekend about delays for gigabyte. We'll talk about that situation. You've got a handful of exciting rumors as well another. Snp inclusion for tesla news on giga austin and a couple other stories to discuss quick look at the stock start off the week tesla today finishing down three and a half percent amidst some of those rumors about giga berlian. Closing at six hundred eighty. Four dollars ninety cents that compared to the nasdaq which was down half a percent on the day or at so capturing the most attention this weekend has been the report from automobile. Voca in germany. They claim to have an exclusive report that tesla has delayed gigabyte saying quote the start of series production tests. New gigafactory and bruneta near berlin has been delayed by six months until the end of january twenty twenty. Two tesla. boss elon. Musk officially gave the team half a year. More reports automobile voca citing company circles and quote. So this then got picked up kind of all over the place. We had bloomberg report on this market. Watch report on this et cetera. And this of course follows the news that we discussed last week. That tesla had adjusted their approval. Permit application to include battery production as we discussed in that episode that may cause further delays. Because the permit may need to then go through the public feedback process again. And we've already seen tesla their dismay with your approval process. How it's been going so far before even these adjustments so i say that because a delay overall wouldn't be all that surprising a delay until the end of january twenty twenty two would be a little bit more than i would expect though and we did hear tesla give us an update on this in their most recent shareholder letter from q. On earnings where they said. The build out of giga berlin is continuing to move forward with production and deliveries remaining on track. For late two thousand twenty one machinery for paint stamping castings et cetera. Continues to be moved into the building. In the meantime we will continue to increase import volumes to europe. And so this was just last week. They're saying late twenty twenty one and we also saw them simultaneously. "Hey there good morning this is your host. Jeff ski kinsey and this is day three of the new year and the new month. Today's episode is gerry bainer. Chuck what did he say. What did he say today or was it late last night. Think about it. Gary vander chuck. It took me a year to get over the fact that he was going to swear leykis sailor on shore. Leave okay and a little bit about that. Having been in the marine corps. If you don't know anytime the marines wanna go somewhere they bring the navy and say hey you mind swinging one of those big boats. We need a lift. So i've been on shirley with navy personnel. But i digress. Hey remember is going to be just a fabulous days. Going to be a great year..

And i've noticed in the headlines recently that a very badly dressed housewife from potomac giselle bryant said that she had to leave the reception because she was uncomfortable. 'cause everybody started taking their mask off first of all. No we did not know we did. Not first of all second of all giselle was uncomfortable at the reception because no one was talking to her. And i witnessed that with my own eyes. I'm talking about shifting. I know design was sitting back in a very ugly suit with pearls. All over it and some big ass shoes had the same thing on the modules raining outside but she had them thick asks us on with pearls all and she had a stupid ass face shield with her name and rhinestones on it and no one was even asking it. She literally wichita hermano. Jamal bryant was not their word on the curve is that he was actually photographed in a hookah lounge in maryland. The same night. Okay so the pastor was there while she lying on watch what happens live talking about. She had to go back to the hotel because jamal was there. He wasn't even atlanta. Facial when you walk in and they checked your temperature when you walked in you had to be screened prior to even attending the wedding in order to even go. Then they had the whole place fumigate. It was so many different security measures safety measures in place. You can even really go in and out like that. It was like literally very secure. Not one person has gotten sick or tested positive from covert after that event so something must have been done right so to me. It's just a really fucked up thing to do for somebody to invite you to their wedding a private personal moment like that. They go that. Eclipses was shown on the cameras. You know this is her real life and somebody invites you to your wedding and because you so boring and don't have anything to talk about you now going to press. You're saying that you had to leave their reception early. Because you didn't feel safe. Because people started taking they matt soft. "Ooh embodiment exactly. And it's just a nice set. You know it's very savvy very woodsy very warm and i think it's very helpful when you use the bathroom. That thinks perfect anytime people come in there. They're like yeah. This is nice because they can fart and get away with it because and that's another thing too like a lot of people are insecure about using people's bathrooms. And you know maybe after to number two especially when you're relationships and or even friends when they come over people feel very weird about cents and what. There's you know so. I love having a diffuser. Always have that weighs like go ahead. Do you think people need to the bathroom and has a built in sent. Oh my god just be like damn. You ain't even what if i wanted to give free heat in You can't even though poop. Shame does exactly what i'm doing. You ought to be of yourself first of all shicho own. Goddamn how fucking house aside and you wanna let it all drop down because you i for the weekend. Thirty three days backed up or do it. Everybody else doing go somewhere and use the bat through saying in a hotel used the lobby bathroom to the room. Stank it all up or down across the hall. Can't get no good vendors. Shitting is backed up there but stink. That's gonna make it. She got things to handle. We grown up. You know. I feel like you know. Do what you gotta do to be ready. That's it that. That's why i'm very happy. We good over here. Say yes hygiene is very thank me and my household we should be hygienic. Thank you but i just wanted to bring some awareness to that conversation about how sent and memory and emotions and even you know tied into scheduling your day. What you want your data feel like all those things tie in together really seamlessly so i was wondering if people had ever taken the time to see like maybe it's a subconscious unconscious thing where you're like. Oh yeah. I never really realized that i do have these relationships different sense throughout the day. They don't realize they state. I mean that our state. Jesus thanks thank you friend zone so that it today. Fuck acid apothecary. Get get you need. Ain't no reason for you to be smelling like they walk around smelling like a barn. "Everybody but i personally am used to it and i really love it but i had to shut out this land because it is just oh my god and the and it's a fifteen dollars for the ten of it like i said a little goes a long way but i was just curious how sent plays a role in your days because i realized it's so important to my day like it really is is whether it's the center. I'm wearing whether. It's the umbrella as soon as i wake up whether it's the senate that my body needs at night in the shower to know that it's time to wind down. It's like it. Just it activates the different parts of my day and kinda like sets the tone for what the day for what that part of my day is looking for. You know whether. It's energy whether it's ease and i was reading on the harvard an insane because you know how smile is linked to memory. That's why you ever walked by someone and smell the cologne. And it makes you think someone like someone else's yes and you'd be like oh like you like. Wow that's crazy that that made me transports who would completely different time. Something was worse than we take the time to break down the sit and how it smells on somebody else. Never mind sorry. I'm sorry. let me get 'cause. I walked past the woman the day smell like white diamonds and thought about that. Oh mean hateful. Last principal ms mold. I had lightly. I got so mad. I'm saying but you see had brought you back to her to a very specific person. Do and even certain smells that you think are your grandma because you like. This is my grandma's perfume. Like this is that smell that scent or xs or people you would just always around And on the harvard side of saying smells are handled by the olfactory bulb. Which is the structure in the front of the brain that sends information to other areas of the body like the central command for processing all caribbean. But those but those orders take a direct route to the limbic system. Which has the amid dylan. The hippocampus and this is the region that relates to emotion and memory. So that means there's like a direct as soon as you smell. Something is boom right to the memory and emotions. Which is why i feel so heavily connected to these sense and they play such a big part of my day in how i want my data feel and just think that that's so cool and i always wondered if people ever really take the time to create those relationships with sense to of control how they want their data field. I remember ha's actually had a section on the tour where we played a game with essential oils. And she had them. She poured them onto different Cotton balls wow. Couldn't think of the word balls. She put them on the cotton ball. And then you had to go through the different sense and kind of talk about like what it made you think of what it reminds you of and that was probably one of the most fun parts of the tour because for some people certain sense or like a wonderful memory for other people that were pissed by what it made them. Think it's the relationship. Descent is the fact that is so connected to memory to me is one of the coolest things and so something. I just wanted to see with you guys and especially our listeners. I'm curious like do sense. Play a role in your day whether it's what you're wearing or the mood. Are you going to meditate even descent. Play a role when you're trying to create romance Hell yeah. I know you've got to do is wash your ass for you coming up around. I'm definitely going to do the same for you. And furthermore important to you by your partner smell. You smell like how the room smells. How the sheets smile. Yes land up in his stake in house was wash. Your new meaning in one of my favorite things is a bath and body works. Put learn plug in hor like. I just love them down plug ins just leaving them because know they got the light so they'll be like night lights in the hallway and the guy laroche our walk by in the middle of the nine about who smoke good out here and then sometimes do like polarizing sense on the hallway. It'll osma one way but then you go into the bathroom and it smells different. Yes it was like you walk in. The dark is like i'm lead. It's i don't even gotta to look for the little lights or whatever it's like. I'm kind of just led by the center where i'm at and everybody gets a little things little jars you can usually get him like in the checkout at tj maxx. You know places. Write them little jars with the little jail with the sent. You know what i'm talking about. Everybody got them blue. Repaint you know you take the ripped sticker off the top and it's the vents in lead so you can't just open it up but most black people by two and just opened the top saw. What am i going to do that. Then it comes to those the little beads. I always get the orange sense at once. I don't know why. Like sometimes why or i'll always will know there's the signatures on orange citrus smelly wants but the hawaiian breeze. I never get those ones cut through. This is something about it. Always have the energy edges. Yeah it prizes gives you energy and drawn to it. Right i have. I have a diffuser. That's in my bathroom. Like it's the bathroom diffuser. And i just leave it going on all day so when you go into the bathroom you know you have these actually the oil. That's that's in there. Now is the one that i did. In collaboration with highs with resonance apothecary..

"These motherfuckers going to act like they can't complete this job because of the pandemic outside 'cause i feel like once i moved to new york. It was like our best were offering. You always gotta be in some ship like new york just feels very much like that like You wake up in the morning is noise you get on the train. It's noisy going offices stuffy. You wake up in these small apartments or whatever like. She's very much well when i was back in. That shit was like like it was just little things you flooring me that i just remember here when i was younger in atlanta like i remember meeting people from like kids era an antidote. I remember meeting people just like wow and atlanta. Y'all got trees down here. Like i was like what but living in new york. I see why people appreciate them. Trees new york this one tree here there but in atlanta before on parks where it could be a a parking garage or a multi level building. But i just love the fact that everybody had this moment to be quiet in be introspective. So they weren't necessarily worried about what everybody else was doing. So i feel like there was a lot less pressure. Just like overall i feel like because pressure was removed It released a new york city pressure which released like a spiritual pressure for me. Which kind of Help release An anxiety pressure for me. 'cause even go into the studio was kind of like It was cool to be in the studio which are but like even kind of waiting around in that outside space and all that stuff was not getting zion. It made me a little nervous. I was always nervous especially at the first studio was recording. Us never know who you're going to see whether it was somebody new or just some gang sheared or just some just full anyway. Like but being at home. I've been able to really like center myself and i'm able to make myself some damn t- before i record what you guys. I mean to set it up myself if something goes wrong. It's my damn fault so we got gotta sit there while they change and all them damn machines and we just like all right well. That's something do right after this. Like what the fuck is easier for you to kind of it's easier for me to kind of Move and think. And just be and as an adult. I haven't reached that level yet. Like or it's been so long since i've been able to say i haven't reached this level and so to be at this level. I'm still saying i haven't reached his level. Yeah so it was even heart to take this look at myself. Damn you are a whole human being like you can actually take care of yourself and like i said early fall on your two feet even in the pandemic so like i know like you laughing in the beginning and you weren't meaning anything by making this light but like for me. This is such a. I want to have a great light conversation about kind of how the years been. Because there's so much dark happened but you know we got this new president. And i know people are filling this rejuvenation so i wanted to ask the rejuvenation. I wanna take a look back at all the bullshit that we've had over the past year but also all the great things that have happened over over the past year in case we have to experience this pandemic or you know the quarantine for another three six months twelve months two months a year. Five ten fifteen twenty s anyway. Sorry that was just down. I just really wanted to be able to kind of look at what things that we have. I don't wanna say prospered from. But the themes that of stuck out to us that we were able to grow from over the past year and see Those patterns so we can make those connections for next year. Because i don't want us to be all down out as we continue into this pandemic some people are still holding onto those ideas of what they thought they would be doing this year by there are still some people running around saying like man before this happened. I was about to be number. One like number was so. Now you're figuring out like whoa you're about to be a number one but you can sit back and look. What did you really want to be number one in this or we just doing this for whatever reason and you really get to take time to choose how you want to move forward so i wanted to have this great conversation with you all about you know just being great because even though some shitty times we all just have to be great and being graded on their silly mean be happy but you know you just gotta be able to look at look inside so you could survive out. And that's really. I mean if you got some remarks. I want to add to this hot button. That would be appreciated but also not necessary friend Last thing are under. The sad guesses is also been cool to see the innovation that has come out of this year especially with creative's black creatives at the top of the kahalani filmed her music via has like remember. It was a video for toxic and it was so cool to see and even just the award shows where we were like. What are they gonna watch shows. There's the audience. And i personally feel that the ward shows are better this way because there's a lot more creativity put into it. It's not just the artist standing on a stage during the same. Oh to step like they actually had to create a scene of vision an almost like old school music videos. They have budgets because they didn't have to use that budget for the stage. You know like just a lot that was able to be allocated differently. And i think it was to our advantage because the creativity this year has been amazing to see all the apps. You know now even the even The tv shows like seeing how you know on zoom like how they they have to create this new structure now with everyone's in their fucking living room you know. So i don't know i. I think the most exciting part is seeing how people pivot when they don't have access to their usual day-to-day resources Very well said dustin. I think one of the best things come out of this year was cocktails queens fox. All enjoy them. Shot out to my friend claudia jordan. She is the host of a panel. Talk show that she created on fox all she has her own show on their card out loud with claudia jordan but she also has a show called cocktails with queens. That comes on monday. Nights is claudia. Jordan selena johnson. Another friend of mine. Who's a great person. lisa array and vivica a fox in the four of them sit up and literally taught cash shit about what they want. Yes and they have some great guests on there and just hearing their perspectives is really really interesting. So south to the cocktails or queens on fox. Because i have really been known to shit at lisa right went off from arthur brat. Going on there. But you know that's family business. You gotta stay up shit and also shuttled to angelique. She announced a new show on Fox all is well card established with angelie interview based series..

"What's funny is i spoke to The woman. I call my oracle this. So i was talking to her about all my plans for next year and she was like. That's great and it was kinda of cool because she was like you know what's funny is we try to control so many things where we decide like next year. This this this this this she was like that's fine and beautiful and you should have that intention set but leave things a little more open. You know sometimes for god to kind of work magic and and as things are moving and shifting in your life just leave room for those changes to have space and grace you know what i mean and so that it's not me trying to be so controlling the hand of fate so Because i was telling her like the different things. I wanna do in different places and even where i was moving to And you know and she said okay but what if it's not this country and that country. How would you feel and i was like yeah. Let me not be so rigid. Because you know that's how you set yourself up for disappointment to girls right. Yes it is it. But i did appreciate what she was saying. You know 'cause sometimes you can try to be so controlling of things and it's nice to just leave things more open to what the because we don't even know what imagine if i had said are moving to such such country in twenty twenty and then this came You know that would have thwarted. Everything and i would have been so hurt and disappointed. So i get what she means about just leaving enough room for grace so i have an idea of what i want. Twenty twenty one to feel like which includes me moving and just kinda like pivoting in some more Land family personal life being developed a little bit more pouring energy into those new chapters. That i think you know Need my attention But we'll see how the year fields because who knows how we see this come in so i'm also open to whatever god has in store for me how about you. Justin ross I feel just like. I do every year around this time. I'm just trying my best to be my best. I had some really mad shit lined up for this year. That ask like like you know and things will continue to. they will take place. It just wasn't just wasn't possible for them to happen. Literally this year So they will happen. And so i still have those beautiful beautiful things to look forward to and who knows what new opportunities will come my way or that i'll encounter along the way so i'm just renting remaining optimistic hopeful and try my best to be prepared and you know as equipped as i can be to you know just rise up to whatever my challenge is and i mean the good kind of challenge is not the bad guy so yeah that's should i'm on doug like you know i just wanna be Continue to remain authentically. Dustin while refining myself to like i said rise up to certain challenges and tasks and That's just what i'm on. I'm just trying not to cuss. Nobody out Trying to you know always have on clean socks. You know a few things that. I've been devoting my time to but definitely miss my family My parents are a little bit older. So i've been kind of staying away from them because i do live in filthy as new york and i just don't want to mix there Yes i have traveled. You know shot to crystal. Because she's going to let you let me in that house but still steal you know and That's it a scientist. I really wish i could be more specific. Kinda feel like i'm talking in circles. But i don't know i can't so but i'm just excited. I had some great things plan like out. You know what fuck it. I'll spill the beans on one thing. So one thing that i was going to do this year was i was going to do a stand up comedy tour okay. We had like cities picked event. News picked all that shit and we did not announce it but on the flip side number one. I feel like. I can write a better forty-five minutes set now number two. I have so much more material to us and be inspired by when i do take the stage in that way number three. That may not even look like a traditional stand up routine anymore. It may have evolved into some sort of one man show or there may be other performance elements. That have materialized at this point so sometimes you have to hit pause but when you press play again is even better than it was intended to be first so has kind of the lands. I'm looking at you know. And that's just one thing that i was really looking forward to this year. I love being on stage connecting with people. No i love to laugh and nothing brings me more joy than making other people laugh so it was like a natural fit for me to alex. Radio we just been cooking and working hard. So i'm just i'm looking forward to next year and i'm damn sure looking forward to twenty twenty two thank you so you both hit like on the head. I just needed to know if you were the tight because the to whether you the type to really plan ahead. Their manner like all right well. I'm going to do this from this quarter or whatever or do you just kind of I'm the type of person rather my what my processes. I like to just take in as much information as possible and kind of figure out. How wanna move from there as opposed to appropriate planning. It's not necessarily the best. But i just always liked to have information whether i wanna use that are not so when i do get in certain spaces. It's hard for me to share my thoughts and opinions without it being. It's hard for me to leave with opinion and just leave it like it's like letting go with something like whenever we work projects like editing a movie or something having to trim the fat like if you have to get a music video down four minutes and i'm sitting up here at four minutes and five seconds. It's gonna take me days to figure out like why what's going to be important about cutting these five seconds. If you know my vision. I feel like have extended these five seconds. It's just very hard for me to plan certain things because i just feel like always to have information so it was great this year. Everybody had to stop like everybody that plan and everybody that needs something Not necessarily for me period but like you know needs to meet something like weather from the world or for themselves like everybody just kind of had to reset. Nobody was in this mode of well..

"Imagine being naked in your mama's kitchen goddamn would support thing mom to this year this year solidified community to like the way that we were able to lean on each other because everybody was feeling it differently. This year we are all experiencing a very differently but it was nice to catch each other in the ebbs and flows. You know like some of us and we had the capacity to pour in a little bit. It was nice to be able to do that when some of us needed to be poured into a little bit i feel like there was a lot more transparency this year within my community like people just finally admitting like i'm not okay jada and her untangle mid but you know it was just nice like i feel like i my friends. My support systems. We are really really sorry to with a lot of clarity this year and not to say like If people weren't helping each other 'cause remember that tweet as was tiem our you somebody suite that we were making fun of what she was like. This is where you learn who your real friends are. And it's like no actually a lot of people was struggling and didn't have time for everybody. You know the process in their own way. But i felt confident in what i could contribute to. My friends lives this year and vice versa. Just feel solid. Like i love my friend so much deeper this year. I've spent a shit ton of time with crystal and it has been amazing. I don't think we've ever gotten to spend this much time together. Like i see them every week. When did we ever do that. Borough get in on the face when i can which You know saying. I just trying to be cracking me up. You does the same outfit this friend. Oh my god we both had that bucket low like fucking though but it was perfect and yours will so cute omar god but yeah so i just also want to shout out my relationships outside of romantic but just all of them just felt so good this year and i'm thinking yeah i I agree it's been a great year for friendship. And i'm grateful for my friends that i have. I'm grateful like i said i'm not even gonna get on my soapbox shot up to james carl on on youtube spill avoid tv. He let me get off my soapbox but don't boom bang. I love change. Follow him on youtube. If you don't already subscribe to his shadow spill avoid tv. But i'm gonna get off my soapbox. But i'm just very grateful. This is very much a moment of gratitude for me. So catch me while i'm being nice. You know what i'm saying cuts on you know he's like x. D saying shit. Ain't sweet okay. Our feeling this gratuity. Now as you saying you know catch you. Are you being nice Are you already kind of thinking about both yards and listening to. Are you already kind of thinking about a wondering like next week. Next year is going to be like For and that's why. I'm forecasting. Because i feel like mardi late to the game because i know i'll be talking to you and you'd be like oh yeah mardi thinking about twenty twenty two and i'm damn i forgot about to be a whole new year and you're a year you next year damn like so. That's why i'm gonna just like all right now. We better get it up. I'm not going to be life. Christmas time like thanksgiving. That can get the tickets. I can go somewhere this time. Or maybe not. But that's something. I do wanna touch on to you. Know we are coming. Apple holidays thanksgiving christmas. Do you have plans. Are you trying to make plans. How are you thinking about doing that with Covy and i guess before we even do that there. Are these stories coming out about this vaccine. Oh god so just keep that vaccine in your mind before we even get there but we're coming up on the holidays. Are you thinking about doing. Some zoom spectacular. Are you showing a place with the face masks a actually. This might be a little bit too much. Let me just back this up. Because the only reason i ask this because i feel like people are going to themselves. We need to take some creative ideas. But i also don't want people tweet like all up in time i will. You shouldn't do this because one of the things about this whole it is what it is but one of the things about this cova thing that i'm just like so stuck with like everybody has to take care of themselves. Somehow whether it is staying the fuck home whether it might be you know going out every once in a while to get some sunlight or drink outside you know what. I'm saying like everybody has to do what they have to do to stay sane or whole what they gotta do. So that's why. I don't even wanna start a narrative to where people can feel like they should judge because i don't want anybody judging each other because i know we keep seeing these numbers spiking. It just makes us painting. And i don't want us to panic and going anywhere anyways because i'm the cousin that pulls up for you know thirty minutes tops says hi to. Everybody eats a little bit of food to not be disrespectful and it gets the fuck out. So this is fabulous fan fucking tastic that i don't even have to give thirty minutes inches tax to you and be like well girl knows the pandemic. Have you seen that video where that girl. She's like she's eating chips. You just win- people's choice award for me. Because i don't have her name but i literally just took her like two days ago. She is so funny looking right. You're credit she was like i can't go her name. Her name is elsa and her. Twitter account is m aid. Excuse me her. Instagram account is a j. I m b dot. Oh she is according to her bio or multi award winning chess champion and professional bragar. She is laria so damn funny. Sent that video to the girls. I was like this is us could s the pandemic. I will find any excuse to not go anywhere so this just did it for me. I'm very thankful for this. I will find any excuse. This is all the train. I heard the chains crazy. May i don't know you know. She has off. She needs to stay home and stay home on the reason where dangerous to walk. I don't have the rife the have much you have already girl. I like you know. So i'm i'm not going anywhere. I think we'll the thankful that i've asked because i was in atlanta. See my dapper his birthday with video birthday instead. Those amazing dad screaming surprise him. I was fucked up. The atlanta was so open like mother. I wish it and it was. It was amazing. But it's also like well like i don't know i got my period now. Like who distance in airport went into scientist. This is the time to fly and that was why honestly that was what i did. I went to atlanta. Because right now and you know atlanta's airport is a delta hub but delta is one of the airlines because i i heard everybody ain't doing it and i can't believe that's true but delta is one of the airline said it's social distancing. There are people in the inbetween seat because of my status. I got an upgrade. So i was sitting in first class. I definitely didn't have anybody next to me. Leasing leaks need. It was like i had all the leg space anita and had all the air breathing space it because there was virtually no one around the delta status man. My shit tanked copper. Look i have me some status credits. So that's what helped me our like. Well what does this credit for them. And then the nerve to charge me for clear. And i told cnn. Now here's the thing right clear. No thank you because it's only for one year but pre checked whenever preach out this week. Say that it. I don't think they asked me for yet. But whatever preach asking me for it they can get it. 'cause it's always for years. Some of the are multiple. Necessity are taking. Thank you like our ways. Unfortunately i got to the airport early on my way back so check wasn't even up in but that was method..

"It fun. Well i feel terrible saying that. 'cause that's it wasn't fun this year for let me go god. Forgive me. But i doesn't really speak my name out. He is changes zoom. Which i have fun. No barrage folks inside and like i said i'm only speaking my truth the mike so don't tweet her shit. I said agley. We are fully aware that this year was very heavy for a lot of people but many possibilities and experiences can be true at once something that we also know and for me someone who has been looking for a way to sit down more and Have more time for my personal life. That's right last year. I kind of started veering into that feeling. Member like we slow down with touring at a conversation with guys about needing a break and they were totally cool with that. Thank god we basically did not tour for like the first half of the year started touring the second half prepared are to for twenty sweeney and then got shut all the way down So actually it was nice that we kinda were forced to shut down in that sense. Because i had already been looking for that kind of break and i really was happy to not have to travel and you know i like i've said before on this show. Yeah i was so tired you know. We had done three toys at the same time. And i was feeling a bit of burn out. Y'all know me. I don't really like being super busy. It actually gives me anxiety. When i have a really jam packed schedule and i know some people love that. They like thrive off of being really busy just gives them energy and they feel like yes. You know all this stuff. But when i look at my schedule of jam packed actually like i don't sleep well i can't relax. My brain is constantly scanning. Like what do i need. What's missing what i need to do. Is this like a pace. That just doesn't feel natural to me so it was nice to see it just like the world slow down you know so i got to slow down and if it was just it felt very aligned with how feeling already so to me. That part of this year was really really nice. You what about you dustin. What are some things that you liked about this year. Some big wins that you experience ain't like nothing. No i'm just. I'm just have a lot of things to be grateful grateful for. I have my health. I have my family's hill. I have love in my life..

"A lot of but they too are biblical scholars. Who stepped in and school does and david is well. There was some people that were like interesting to hear david You know. Pull the bible when it's convenient yet. He was the one pressuring his non wife to have saying. You mean about the bravest thing right. It's out of convenience so that was those a lot of points were made. He looked like bashed streets. Does that you added okay. So i got a couple of days. I got a couple of things here that i want to point out because last week was a good week in these streets. I'm gonna try to keep it nine political. You know what. I'm saying. Because i got a whole lot of shit i coulda pulled out. Well i'll give you one this This tweet comes from at terra. J. t. e. r. h. j. a. y. Dr tj and. He says the victims of voter fraut the victims of voter fraud. We don't talk about enough. And he accompanied it with a picture from from season to an idol fantasia jennifer hudson and the toyota london. Who we are. They were the trifecta of season. Two of american idol fantasia went on to great heights of success. Jennifer hudson we know oscar-winner academy award winner grammy winner all that And latoya london. Who actually had other successes well to after the show that they was the three best ones and as my next tweet which comes from our boy kirk writes on twitter kirk said kirk quoted. The tweet said every black person in america was pissed. This night pissed. We were in the bottom three so just wanted to give that you know it'll be that and also one other thing i want to mention. I got a lot of comments. this week. Showing love to us for playing. Dj kay swift Baltimore club music and also people from miami hit us up about playing. Dj uncle al. The we like those those those cultural Tunes that really you know resonate with innocent are fine memories of our hometowns growing up and just good blackness so shout out to everybody that that struck a chord with really appreciate it and we don't continue to dance pain away. Thank you bye check. How chairman like literally everyday saints is just the perfect week to be playing. Oh yeah so this week. It's the asante. Smith take over in cold. We have no idea what's about to happen so go ahead and tell us what we getting into this week. Sante oh yeah saw a smile week. But you're kind of want wanted to be my friend back a little bit. I was like. I mean just a little bit but not you know the the contextual way. You didn't get going. Put the research and all you do. I laid out. I wanted to get back to basics. You know what i'm saying because it's a you know we just had the new world we just had the new president elect you know quote unquote new right. That's only you know. It's still such a weird transitional period. Say my president is white. You remember. I can't even remember atkins. Save the tweet in enough time somebody president's wife jo. I was jokes. This fucking week have been imacs. Like people are funny as shit for real. The way that he turned are painted. Joke resuscitated and not cry. Every time it's a good time especially since we dropped episode right on voting day. We haven't really done any politics anyway. This isn't going to be like a heavy political episode. It's going to be more or less like a political wind down slash edit slash forecasting. I just felt like there was a lot of themes time together at once last week. You know taymor thing. Just kind of catapulted me into self care and creatives and then western now west next so i wanted to start with you know just kind of this year. How do you feel about this year. Overall the roller coasters. We take in. I feel like the past couple. Where the past few weeks rather voting voting early was kind of a wild ride in itself. But i wanted to look kinda before that or past that. I guess how you perceive time. I don't know worked. I wanted to kind of take a look. At how how we've done things this year. And how do we think we're going to feel about things next year because it's still kind of murky territory but you still kinda. I still feel like we can give tips on how to navigate these uncharted waters together. Because nobody really has the answers. But i feel like we can provide insight where possible and where necessary so again. What are some of your biggest like wins from this year or things that you really really enjoyed about. Twenty twenty if anything. 'cause i wanna start start in a positive place. I found.

"Thank you and also. I wanted to shout out to gary benjamin hold junior. Who says tae was the first black big brother winner period because we talked about taymor beyond big brother on here and winning you bite the backup last week and yes. It was very very historical that she was the first black big brother winner and it was unanimous it was just such a great mom if retirement it was we care that and why do his name sound like a jazz singer. What was his name. Gary holt was the person's name who comment you. Just read. Asante gary benjamin. I don't sound like jazz. Singer harry benjamin schott sound like a horn. Maybe i don't know that's really from the streets frame. What did you find out there in them. Twitter st while. He's right on past dustin. So i won't say any names just because add-ons our christian followers attacking in any way. These are our listeners. But a young woman on twitter said all over the old testament. Prophets keep interpreting dreams. Clearly that man does not know his bible. The word dream work is not taxed really in the bible but the art of interpreting. Dreams is say you don't like it. Don't drag god into it. And then she received a response from another listener of ours. Who said god's beloved david has his dreams interpreted. They were interpreting dreams in the new testament. To the whole time. I was listening to the episode. I was fi. you me. 'cause that negro and his family were wrong insanely wrong right and then they continued on to the thread like they never heard or read about joseph in genesis. Okay this was dope. Because i've always admired bible scholars like people that you speak to and they can tell you any part of the bible front to back like just they can pull out any section. You know what i mean. I've always admired. I'm like do you know how long the bible is. Yeah just playing times on your hands. Everybody should not be a good person. Mary and joseph. You know what. I'm saying disciple impressive because guy down. You hone in view breakfast. Kits braxton get ally lucius but.

How black is the business plan. This was actually very black so love to see black fashion fair. This one is our fashion kids. Okay this is laughing already. So there's a site have y'all checked it out. have you heard of it. None of it's pretty impressive. Black fashion fair dot org. It's it's a designer eight through z. Directory founded by antoine gradually so highlights black designers fashion designers accessories. Footwear costume design all the designers in between it's an evolving base that's constantly being resource in referenced and remember we had shouted out dante. Maurice memory shouted him out. dope built. Go back photographer from atlanta. Who has blown the hell up this year. Might i add. He shot vile la. He shot day Like he's had an incredible surreal year and considering the year it was for him to come out on top of the year. Like this is just beautiful. So we highlighted him at the top of the so. It's kinda coud. Just see like how his year completely flipped but he is the main photographer on the site so a lot of the fashion stores. You see he's the one that creates that but outside of it just being eight through z. Sc asante i can tell you is on the homepage. Soundtracks allies down with the clique chocolate. Screw the beautiful black line so side of the eighth through z. Director which is tight because a lot of the times you know. Maybe i need a newsletter new pants a new bag and i just want to support a black owned brand Like the bag that everybody is obsessed over now You know they have all those brands But outside of that they also have community tab. And what i love about. This is that it's provides. Mentorship internship and scholarship information for young designers for the future design students in all areas of fashion with an emphasis on purpose nourishing their potential and embracing the nuances of the individual voices. And i love this because they literally put together grants and really just try to help but come an ecosystem for the young designers that might not have that access and opportunity if you click rather resource right so if you click on the communities hab you'll see that they have Different they have the partnership email designer inquiries educational initiatives and development press. You name it's at the bottom of the page so outside of the designer directory. Jasa getting some inter- shit internship scholarship opportunities that are starting in twenty twenty one so wanted to put that out there fire fashion babies that listen to the show and that's it black fashion fair dot org and that's this week's black business love it. Love it so good right. I was like I'm about to live on this site. 'cause i need a whole new wardrobe. I don't know for what free thing on here like. The s series hoodies like fashion fashion. Shit to not just thing is for having day. Where high end low end everything between love it and there you see that directory is not a game you can keep scrolling everybody. I'm laurin broad. I have to get out to minimize. Sorry and you know is cool there developed if you click on the stories tab It's a new thing now that they're developing where they're going to actually give you the background stories of each designer and you know like how they got to where they got their connections video visuals of their background. Just everything for those of you. That just looking for some in spo side thought. That was cool. I'm looking forward to that tab being developed a little more. I love this right. You guys ready to jump into this week's recap actually ready to jump into the black fashion fair dot com but we're going to do to reject dot org dot. Don't end up in the wrong place. Now right that might be another black fashion so did deity of it was the dustin roz takeover. We discussed the relationship dynamics red flags witness on taymor baxter's latest show. Get your life dustin anything you want to add to that you know. I just want to thank everyone who actually went back and watched the show. I got so much feedback on twitter and vs other social media platforms about people who because of our conversation went in actually viewed all six episodes of the series and everyone was just kind of blown away by the blatant nature Those red flags speak of so charlotte. Everybody just kinda took the timing. You know dove into really what we were talking about. I got a lot of love for braxton.
