2 Killed in Driverless Tesla Car Crash

"National highway traffic safety administration in the united states and the national transportation safety board have both sent teams to investigate a fatal car crash involving twenty nine tesla model s in spring texas. The car went off the road. Coming out of cold sack. After failing to negotiate a slight curve at high speed harris county constable mark. The tesla's autopilot feature was quote approaching ten times. Lower chance of accident than the average vehicle constable. Herman also noted that the car caught fire when it hit a tree and took more than thirty thousand gallons of water to extinguish because the battery kept reigniting and apparently they had to get in contact with tesla for some advice in how to get that fire to go

A Prayer for Healthy Boundaries

"Prayer for healthy boundaries by debbie mcdaniel. Life is precious it all too often. We may find that much of our time is spent on negative toxic people draining the life right out of us sometimes their coworkers friends or sadly even family members god never intended for us to spin. Our wheels waste our days trying to make others happy. Who can never be happy because in reality. It doesn't depend on us. It's not up to you. They may want you to think it does as if he possessed the power to improve the value of their existence. But that's not a burden met for you to carry. God's greatest desires to set us free and sometimes what propels that change is for some brave soul to be willing to say. Stop no more one who will choose. What is better and learn to set. Boundaries that will protect limit control. An unhealthy person might be placing on another's life. Sadly when we look deep into the mirror of our souls we may realize that we are the ones who have some unhealthy tendencies. That god wants to change. Today's a day to stop wasting time and toxic patterns of living better in store for us. He can accomplish great pinks through your prayers. She can move. Mountains can change hearts. Anything is possible through his great power. Understand that though it is never up to you to make someone different. He set in their lives per purpose. For a reason he loves you. He cares for you and he has good in store for future. So if the sun sets you free you will be free. Indeed john eight thirty six.

Targeting Demographics in Podcasting With Jay Green

"Targeting demographics in podcasting can get a bit tricky. Data can tell you who is in the digital household you're targeting but not necessarily in that household is listening. I wrote about this in my article. Can you target podcast listeners. By demographic which all lincoln the description. I spoke with jay green cadence. Thirteen a division of odyssey. I worked with j. A few times was working at barometric claratyne metaphor. He get the gist. We got a chance to speak about demographics and how podcasting is new avenues to use them. What you don with cadence thirteen has been really cool. Like you guys have been one of the first people that i've worked with to really focus on demographic targeting and interesting ways so demographic targeting is the mindset that we're looking for the individual right or looking for the household or taken the information instead of focusing on what show there at we're gonna instead focus on who is accessing it Which is a neat way to target when you guys use that. Is that how you focus every campaign or is it an additive thing for specific campaigns at that. That's a great question. You know kind of backing up a little bit the mediums. Come off it's evolved in so many different ways One of the big pieces. As i know you wrote about it today dynamic insertion and what it can bring to the table there. This is kind of the next evolution of that You have your direct responsibility. Performance players they want to be part of the episodic you have brands. Who want to be able to your brands. Who want to run across series and networks. This is that next iteration. So i don't wanna say it's the go-to because they really isn't one go to Y pigeonhole yourself that way but what this does allow for. It allows for extensions of campaigns and allows for larger budgets allows for tickets. Created a synergy if you will so if you have client x. who's buying episodically in they're buying and shows that are geared towards female eighteen to thirty four. You can pick those select shows and have your host reads and Have your personal endorsements any personal experiences and now what you can do also as you can target take that target. Say okay i also wanna create this This campaign that is demo targeted to females eighteen to thirty four. And i'm just going to run across the

"Listen i don't want to have to be reading this piece today in the same way that nick. Carter didn't wanna have to be writing it earlier. This week but mainstream media insists on continuing to peddle nonsense around the environmental impact of bitcoin and other parts of the crypto industry. So here we are today on long reads sunday. I'll be reading nick. Carter's peace on bitcoin. The gray lady embraces climate lysenko wisdom. How the new york times wields junk science in their attacks on bitcoin. I want to thank the formerly emma new york times. I read their latest article on bitcoin at five thirty. Am this morning. And i was immediately jolted into a state of alertness. No coffee needed their latest missive. On bitcoin's climate footprint is so poorly researched. That once i read it. I knew i had an immediate duty to push back. I've transcended resignation at this point. My current attitude is astonishment. I am simply amazed at the new york. Times published such shoddy work presumably. Someone at the new york times knows about bitcoin. Why would they put through such a week piece. did they not think it would face pushback. Here's the article in question in coin bases rise. A reminder crypto currencies us lots of energy. there's another equally in an article on. Nf from the same author. That i don't have time to get into but suffice to say the authors take on tees is woefully inadequate. The context here. Of course the new york times tried to take down coin base uber style by publishing hit piece after hippies on the company following see o'brien armstrong's commitment to keep the company focused on the core corporate mission advancing the usage of crypto currency and refusing to wade into any larry culture wars or political conflicts. Reasonable enough right. Not in. Current here is unforgivable. Crime of staying focused put a gigantic target. On coin basis back caused the nypd to direct considerable resources to tearing down the startup thankfully the nypd manifestly failed and was humiliated when coin bass rose above and had the most successful direct listing of all time yesterday and the third biggest public listing ever.

The Royal Family Celebrates Prince Philips Life

"Welcome back to the airport on a day. That has been one for the royal history books. The duke of edinburgh has laid to rest after what was very intimate funeral. It's george's chapel windsor. Castle a with maggie with both at the end of what has been i would say a somewhat emotional day. Wouldn't you yeah. You know i was surprised. How much hit me. Sometimes because you know we've been covering this now for eight days right since. The death was first announced last friday all week. Long we've been hearing amazing tributes talking to people across the country following the story but for some reason today all came together and the most emotional moment was just seeing the family and it really struck me in the middle of it probably. I think when we saw the queen. Especially i mean it's hard not to get choked up a bit and just feel that heartbreak when you see the queen without fill up by her side knows what she's going through. So i totally agree. Definitely be more today than i was anticipating. The funeral of course was a day. That was prince. Phillip was heavily involved in the plans for a meticulous planner. And i think we kind of saw the fruits of fat today. Despite the fact that we had what was a very cova safe funeral following government guidelines. Any thirty mourners inside george's chapel. It felt like it had this. Show the pump the circumstance over royal events of family moments. There were more than seven hundred thirty members of the armed forces taking part in. It's somewhere across the grounds of the windsor estate. And i think that that lent to a very sort of grand sendoff for the of edinburgh despite inside the chapel it being so bad down and very minimalist in a way you know this was a that. Did not have a eulogy simply. We heard a lot from the archbishop of canterbury the windsor paid his own tribute to prince. Philip is. Kindness is humor and humanity throughout the ceremony. But as you say. I think that image of the queen seated alone in hama sc socially distance from other family members was was one that remains i think in the minds of many as we come to what has been a day of mourning for the entire country.

Elon Musk Teases Tesla AI Day for Summer 2021

"Now we're here today. We're gonna be talking about some recent. Us tweets about tests a day. Looks like we may have a tentative date for when that maybe scheduled we'll talk about what to expect for that event we've also got a little bit of an update on the model s. next refresh and a couple of other stories as well. Quick look at the stock tesla today finished up nine tenths of a percent to seven hundred and thirty eight dollars five cents that did trail slightly behind the nasdaq up. One point three percent and volume really fell off today for tusla about twenty seven and a half million shares traded today versus the pretty high volumes. We had yesterday and the day prior yesterday. Of course we did have that coin based direct listing. So i know a lot of people like to take a look at what is doing what they're trading. They did sell off some tesla yesterday. That always seems to get a little bit of attention on social media but definitely a normal process for arc. Tesla's diller top holding in many funds it has risen above ten percent in some of those funds and generally when that happens arc tends to sell down a little bit and on the coin based point arctic initiate positions there across funds at about zero point seven five percent weight so selling tesla would help provide liquidity for that new position. So nothing too surprising there. I just wanted to point out because again it gets talked about. And that may have been a little bit of pressure on tussle in general yesterday as tesla had a tougher day arc. Probably not the only one to make a move like that all right with that being said let's get into ai elon. Musk caddy number of tweets yesterday about tesla and their progress in artificial intelligence. He kicked it off by noting. That quote tesla ai. Slash autopilot engine team is making excellent progress solving real world. Ai and quote he followed that up with a number of tweets some of which related to full self. Self-driving the beta button. We'll get to those in a second but he also responded to a question asking. When can we expect a day. Yulon said probably late july so first thing there anytime we have a timeline from and we got to be cautious on that he saying probably here so be a little bit more cautious. Even this is an event so it is a little bit more up to tesla when they hold this. But i would assume they wouldn't want to hold an event like this until the fd beta is broadly released.

Singleness: Burden and Gift

"Join us today as we talk about singleness as well as what it means to be single and life in the church join us in having the conversations that shape us greetings tobin. Welcome to another conversation. Come listeners this amount of baptist. Podcast how you doing tobin. I'm doing good. How are you doing doing all right. It's been a tough week for for us. Say you recently lost a loved one in your family anthem. I'm mourning the loss of a friend. So you know different times during cova de wouldn't you say oh for sure. It's definitely a tough time to lose somebody during covid because you don't exactly get to see them funeral plans start looking different and there's a whole bunch of other different support. Networks are starting to look differently than they did before hand right. I was even thinking we talked about death last week. And then it kind of hits you personally so it's very interesting right. It's it's just part of our lives and when we don't think about it don't deal with it sometimes for caught unawares but yeah it's good to have to have that background and even as we are recording this we are almost at where death also plays a central role in the story and to defeat of death. Of course as well so yeah. It's very interesting. Yeah very much so. We had one of our recommendations to talk about singleness this week from a listener. Yeah it's quite the switch from death and there's quite a few ways we can take this conversation right so we'll kind of see how it unfolds. We'll see how the cookie crumbles but we could talk about singleness as an experience of individuals within the western culture right. We're probably talk about in our second half singleness as it relates to biblical values and and and culture and what the bible says there right and then we can also talk about a little bit in the beginning now about how singleness in psychology relate to one another. Yeah that's a good idea. Why don't you start us off with that Even as you're talking about it's interesting to even think about what is singleness right because singleness can be so many different things depending on how you define singleness and not being singled. So what do you think right. So single head is if we were to come up with something like a working definition here i would say. Single single hood is defined by not being in relation with another person. And i think the traditional idea of cygnus is in a romantic setting okay and you had some statistics on singleness in canada. As well which. I found fascinating i did and when i read these statistics. They're not exactly using the same definition. I am right and from what i understand. These are talking about single households so in canada. there there was an article in twenty nine thousand nine that wrote that compared to nineteen eighty six in two thousand sixteen. We had approximately double the amount of people who lived alone and so that means that we have about four million canadians across canada. Who who are single. Who who live alone and now with someone who provides that romantic so seventy percent of the four million have previously been in a relationship which would include widowed divorced or separated by any other means twenty percent of this four million are currently in a relationship with somebody but they just don't live in the same household right and then fifty percent of these individuals also have a child. Roughly speaking two million canadians live in a single parent or guardian household and are pulling triple or quadruple duty in order to support and care for the children or the dependence and simply don't have the same resources that we do with having an extra person there right fascinating. So when i asked you about the definition singleness you talked about not being in a meaningful relationship or romantic attachment to someone but then as you're giving us each statistics you already seeing a little bit of a clash with how you defined versus how perhaps canada or society defines it right because society defines this as just romantic attachment. I was just thinking about singleness before we even we even talk today and How we just assumed that you have to be part of a meaningful. You have to report a meaningful romantic relationship or attachment in order to not be single whether that's married or living with somebody or at least being boyfriend girlfriend whatever we wanna do whatever we want to call it but the experience of singleness goes beyond just that right. I mean The i was reading some articles about this author deborah hirsch. She's a christian author. She's a little bit out there because she talks about sexuality but she talks about homosexuality is not just a sexual expression within a sexual relationships ship between two bodies but that sexuality transcends also into every relationship we have because we we can't just separate parts of our being. We can't just say this part of me sexual in this. Part of me is relational. And this part of me is spiritual we are one hole and so it transcends. I heard a talk by her. And so she talked about what that means for single people and and celebrate people people who choose to be celebrate in that setting. And that doesn't mean that these people don't need community or meaningful relationships of attachment even if they're not romantic attachments over shirt and i like that idea of the embodied whole as you can't we can't segment like like you said sexual the the spiritual whatever that it all comes together as one person right that being said there are individuals out there who would find they can be in a non sexual relationship. That'd be classically to find a single but aren't troubled by that Right so you're looking at the asexual community where relationships with out that sexual component still fulfilling and meaningful right right and the flip side to that is you have people who have this meaningful community. Who who have lots of deep meaningful attachments to other people but are longing for would consider themselves being single and lonely and longing for a deeper expression for deeper romantic and sexual attachment to someone exactly while there are some that. Do not need that romantic or other person attachment to the same level. There's other people that crave and need it and desire so talk to me a little bit about what that means in terms of how how you live life and how you engage life as a single person. Well okay so growing up in canada as this as a single person who is wanting a relationship and can't find it what is what is that. Psychologically like and i would i have. I think i have a few friends who would fit this category and i just from conversations with them it's not a enjoyable experience Even in my own past bake as someone who from eighteen onwards wanted to have like girlfriends and wanted to be in those in in in relationships with other beings who felt that long. I've had a taste of how powerful that loneliness and that drive four relationship can be right and then there's a certain amount of feeling of rejection and isolation loneliness from not having that being fulfilled so as you're talking my question comes up. What's the. I am trying to word this but where maybe i'm using the wrong words but where does longing turned into obsession or or need so so what i mean by that is can you have that long. Can you desire something and still be content. With present circumstances. I mean that comes down to how you define contentment I would say that if contentment means you're all right with the circumstance. Then no because you still desire that relationship okay We talked quite a number of episodes back about the dark night of the soul right about longing for something how You desire of reality of presence to be with in in my circumstance was to be with god and how reality circumvents that there then becomes a conflict between what is felt. And what is known. That being said you've already touched on this with the obsession component right but then there is also that danger of it becoming an obsession of turning that pain right into something negative such as is found in some communities such as the involuntary salvator the in self community online right and then what you find in those communities is that a lot of this pain and turmoil gets turned outwards against other communities where they start blaming other people and other things for their own loneliness and rejection and in doing so their reactions become a negative coping mechanism an unhealthy behavior to try and alleviate the discomfort or rationalize it so then that goes back to my original question so because because my worry is that that we're kind of setting up a binary in the sense that i want to be in a more committed relationship of one sort or another. Let's call it romantic for for better for lack of a better word. So i want to be under romantic relationship. I'm either in the stage of wanting that and the more i wanted to do the closer i get to it being an obsession in my life or i get it and then i'm fine but there is no room to to to live a. Is there no room then to live a life. That says hey i would really desire this but i will also be content. Happy with where i am right now and and live into that to the fullest. And that's that's tricky because we don't have a lot of social narratives that kind of give us that framework to experience singleness in a healthy way. So if i were to break that down a little bit when we watch movies in rome these romantic movies and stuff. It gives us a lot of even you even say it's either healthier unhealthy. That's not me to judge right now but it still gives you those narratives to kind of go and say oh. This is what it's like to be in relationship. This is how i can experience relationship and and dating and being with another person. We don't have movies about what it's like to be alone at least not popularly right right or if they are they're fairly depressing right. There fairly depressing. It's all about not being in that relationship and own. Maybe i'll get into that relationship. There's the whole trope in the late. Two thousands of the manic pixie dream girl where it's all about these writers hollywood writers that use women and relationships to give men character growth in arcs in the movie right so it's all about being relationship pure like it's not about the expression of singleness as healthy in itself. It's about relationship as fixing your problems so that not then create problematic relationships as well. In the sense that i'm finding all my fulfillment than in that relationship once. I do find a relationship where i where i haven't grown as a person or don't have enough emotional intelligence to be content with the person that i am because the person that i was always looking for someone else to to complete me exactly. It creates problems both in relationships expectations for relationships and for people who also want to enter relationships. Right and even individually it creates a learning process or provides an opportunity for a healthy learning environment. Where you start to empathize with your partner where you can put yourself. In their shoes and learn that your flaws also have to be negotiated with their flaws and that there's a balancing act and interpersonal dynamics. Come in and i mean that turns even so now. We're talking about dating but that that that's the same thing with with friendships as well right. If you're i can see a scenario. I've seen lots of scenarios where where you're not content. You're not necessarily content with who you are and so you're you're expecting a lot of out of that friendship relationship for your happiness for your contentment even for your self esteem for the way you Assess your own value that kind of stuff And that can even come out in familiar. Familial relationships as well right where you depend. It's about on another to define who you are and to give you that esteem right and so i mean maybe we're getting off track but that's kind of what singleness conversations are in the sense. Is that the healthiest relationships in our lives are are where we have Some sort of independence isn't it. Yeah yeah independence crates freedom. Authenticity for who you are. In relation to the overall relationship that being said we also live in a society that needs us to be in relationship so to further expand on this point there is there has been studies. I was just scrolling passively I love read it i. I'm on it all day while just pathway scrolling on read it and they were talking about how people live longer when they're in hell in healthy relationships. Oh interesting and lots of articles in the medical community about how people who come in with their partners rent have better treatment results and partly to have somebody to talk to and somebody else to gather information. Yeah whatever the reason is another person there right even just as a tax bonus is is beneficial. So we have. We live in a society that set up for couples and yet the dangerous. become too codependent. And while there's this whole codependence piece talked about but then how as a single person do you live right right so if your approach this as as a single person you see the i live in a society that needs couples that needs you know somebody to stay home and clean the house or look after the kids while somebody else needs to go work. How do i be both people. Yeah or even attach detaches. I think in our society we attach maturity to to relationships as well right so a part of adulting is to be in a meaningful relationship. I always found that whole areas adulting if being an adult but somehow of verb but anyways You know like you are considered writes so you are considered to be a more mature adults in comparison to other people your age if you're in a meaningful relationship and on top of that if you do certain things if you have a certain job if you have a house and if you have kids right over sure i even feel that in school like what. I'm twenty five now. But because i'm married all of a sudden that puts me in a whole nother brand right of society all of a sudden i'm more mature i'm responsible and i'm sure if i had kids out even put me in another bracket above 'cause now i'm looking after little right little little children but as as we're talking i'm just wondering if we wouldn't have a healthier society if we we would learn what it looks like to live healthily in singleness for a time of our lives even just a how we talk about singleness it would be helpful for the individuals who are signal Because we are seeing a rise in people who live alone or who aren't conventionally married or unconventionally being with somebody else and just to harry healthier narratives for them to us and to understand themselves and even understand ourselves with. Kate will greatly benefit us as a community as a as a broad social community as christians and canadian. A do well. Let's transition a bit into the bible here. where So where have if. I'm a single person. And i wanted and i'm and i'm just lonely as all can be. Have you found that. Most people find their strength. I think were most people go in terms of the bible. At least we can talk about how we talk about church. How about single isn't church. And how we treat single people insertion. That's a separate thing from how the bible talks about singleness. I mean jewish culture. Very much thought that you had be married that that's just you know that that's the purpose of your life is to be married if you're mad at your purposes to have a have a wife so that your wife can have children and and your family line keeps going and if you if you were a woman you know your goal was that for your family to find to find the man or family who would take you i mean as a patriarchal society is but there is no. I don't know if there's a real allowance The only time there is conversation is about widows right and how you treat widows and so in that sense. The old testament is much more progressive than the surrounding cultures of its time and makes allowance for widows and treats them well and in that sense even relationships are still political. Yeah in that. It's not about so much being with somebody else. As it is a way to further your lineage as a way to get some gain right and not saying that there isn't a component. Alright love between why. Perhaps there is some counter cultural stories even embedded within the old testament to see the story of of ruth and her mother-in-law. Ruth naomi. i mean ruth's story restoring does end in marriage but it's very much naomi who makes it happen and they owe me you know. She kind of becomes a mother kind of surrogate mother to son that ruth bears. I mean that's how the story ends in the bible. Were supposed to see that image. Even though she's not married so it's a fairly counter cultural story there is rahab the prostitute who becomes part of israel. There's the story of tamar who forces kind of what we would call a constitutional crisis. It's not a constitutional crisis but it's a crisis of the law for for for one for for one of the for one of the men that was supposed to marry her. Her father in law's supposed to marry her according to the law because her husband has passed away but he refuses and so eventually she she forces her way into this. There's the story of astor who who kind of becomes part of this abusive kings. Well she's the she becomes the queen to disabuse of king and rescue the people of israel. I think all of those are somewhat counter cultural in the sense that that they're describing to us non normative relationships within that paradigm but also some of these women become not all of them that i mentioned but some of them are part of the story of jesus right so matthew mentions for women in the genealogy of jesus and even though clearly there had to be men for those four women to have borne children has not the men that are identified. It's the women that are identified. And so it already kind of focuses more on the person under relationship that that they were in jesus himself never married according to the gospels. All of a sudden you have these single people doing things right. i mean we. We don't we don't know of mary. Martha lazarus or married. We never find out. They are just people right. The assumption probably is that they would be. But but even when lazarus dies. we don't hear about his wife morning right. We we hear about his sisters. Mary magdalene she married. We don't know right. I mean you go down the list of all these characters and somehow we don't often find out about their familial relationships and isn't there a passage in there somewhere about how it it in summary. It's like get married if you want to. But you know your your relationship with the lord is i and you gotta serve that primary. I corinthians that where it is. I post writing. Yeah i mean. Paul paul is also single. There's a hint there. in first. Corinthians read the passage wrongly sometimes. But there's a hint there. In first corinthians step maybe at one point paul was married and he considers himself a widower. I've never heard preached in church but there is a hint there because he's talking to the widows and widowers and he's co counseling them to stay single and he says be as i am so he identifies himself with them. He doesn't leader. He talks to to what he calls the virgins which would be the single people who are potentially also engaged to be married which is different than the widows widowers and so there he doesn't say as i am because he's not. He doesn't see himself like that. He sees himself like a widower. So but in that passage. Basically what paul is saying. Yeah Marriage is a good thing and if you want to be married be married and if you don't wanna be married you have a gift to bring to the conversation as well and the way the we paul seasons in that conversation is gift that single people bring is is an attachment to church and into the work of god. I mean this comes out of paul of paul paul's idea anyways is that jesus coming back soon. You know. And so he saying why. Why waste your time getting married. We have so much stuff to do. Let's go get working and proclaiming. Jesus christ but that's the gift that single people that that's the gift that he sees himself bringing to the church as well right. I'm single so i can go and serve god and i can go and proclaim and so So he very much kind of trying to tell people. Stay in whatever situation you are. Don't get divorced if you're married. Stay married and have sex. He literally. I mean literally what he says. Don't don't all of a sudden now because you think that you're that you're christian. Stop having sex. If you're in a marriage you know. There's no you're not holier if you're in a celebrate marriage with somebody then if you're in a sexual relationship with somebody and so That's kind of his frame of mind right and so what. I take that passage. Don't i think what we should take a passage is that there's legitimate calling and gift to singleness within our congregations and we haven't really acknowledged that ever or very rarely and as as you're talking here. This is reminding me of a story that. I read quite quite a quite a few years ago when i was taking a family and marriage class. I believe that was the course. I was in for this. Where was talking about An evangelical preacher who was off doing missionary work off off in the boonies somewhere and then his daughter right was or his family was having trouble and distress and their daughter. I think even commit suicide over his lack of involvement. Yeah this is a story that i read in a book called sweet surrender by dennis hiebert and the question raised is what becomes more important family or missionary work right well. My critique on this was that he shouldn't this this preacher guys should not have even gotten married in the first place if he couldn't have committed to the relationship as a whole right right. And you know. I i mean before we talk. Today i went and reread some of this stuff. And i corinthians seven and you you can go and read yourself there paul saying that. If you're married you are committing to that relationship and you need to give it a significant amount of energy. That is your calling by god within marriage so you you know the the the calling that god puts on you cannot supersede that calling that god has put on you for that marriage. Because you're asked to be in this relationship of mutual self giving love so you have to kind of buy into that but if you don't need to be in a relationship like that then you can give some of that energy to the work at hand or two one way to one way to to translate it. There has to present necessities. Paul says And so that's that's how paul would put would address it. I don't think paul would understand. I don't think. Paul understand our fascination with saying hey To be to be a good human. I need to be part of a relationship. I need to be in a marriage any to have kids. And then i'm going to dedicate all my energy to my work or to my church. You know for pastors or or to this and ev- this relationship that i've committed to is going to take second place to another relationship i've inserted into it and then using jesus own words to kind of To support that is weird. I don't think paul would ever do that exactly. And i think we put this pressure on missionary work that It becomes the one and only calling for a christian to be part of god's works in the world. Yeah and what. Paul is trying to say i think is hey. If you're single now you can do mission or missionary work. You're not attached to the work of your marriage covenant relationship so why not not stay the way you are. He's trying to tell these people in corinthians why not stay the way you are and do missions work. If that's what you feel like god is calling you to see in our mind. We have turned completely around. We often how we are. We have such distrust of single people especially single men that we say. Hey no-no before you can do ministry worker before you can do missionary work and this is very much agenda conversation because it's not the other way around. We don't distress single women we asked him. and then. So that's an noticing this even as we speak right here. I've been hesitant to talk about this call. That paul has and says. Hey you're single and you can work for the church because to me. It sounds abusive. Make single women do often. We send them out to be missionaries. We asked him to serve. You don't have children. you can do this right. We don't do the same thing for single men or very scared of single men and if want men to do any kind of ministry. We want men to be married and have children because that safety as so. That's that's even the gender dwayne which we approach singleness right. And i think you're in a very unique position at thirty to even speak about that because of your work now with Generation rising coming up and with your older work at in out of town or you did that sort of abroad. Work right where you've seen students and individuals who either as a couple or who are dating or who are single going off and doing this work in in in africa or or wherever you sent them thinking of even thinking about who hires churches in terms of pastors right. It's okay for youth pastor. It's okay for a youth pastor to be single sometimes right because they're young Oftentimes if men right they're young. That's alright we prefer a single woman or a married woman to our children's ministry because they're just more approachable to children. Once you're past you get into a more. An associate pastor position or a lead pastor position. We really want that pastor to be married whether they're a woman or a man we really would like them to be in a committed relationship because that to us is the highest ideal. The highest value within the congregation. Right i mean. I don't think i've been to a church where we've had a single lead pastor. I have. I have not attended a church like that anyways. No i'm trying to think. I don't think i've ever had lead pastor as a single person. i've had associate pastors. Who were then in a divorce relationship or in a separate relationship right and that could be a whole nother podcasts. But yeah yeah. And i can't speak to their experiences. No no but within at least within the evangelical world that i've grown up in yet it's marriage seems to be this high ideal and so any time we talk about singleness and we talk about singleness even as a calling or as an opportunity We tend to think in our minds we tend to think about singleness calling opportunity for women not so much for men and we also tend to not put enough support around single people So we're tend to not give them the same community and while we say. Hey we value your singleness and if that's what god calls you to. Do we want to embrace that and you you can. You have something to give to us. We still want to celebrate mother's day and church and get frustrated when we celebrate we. Don't we still want to celebrate. Father stay in church and get frustrated when we don't and I can just. I mean i make a point of saying something to that effect every mothers and fathers day and i can just hear the roles you know i know the is aren't actually rolling but i can just hear that there's that pressure on you with the congress within the congregations like there there goes rafael again. Trying to be all politically correct not politically correct. It's an acknowledgment that our humanity is not just defined by our roles as fathers and mothers in within that attached relationship And committed relationship of of of marriage. I mean are not the only vision for for humanity not even in the bible. You know i mean. Let's talk about men. That aren't that that we wouldn't consider being fully men. I mean there's daniel and his three friends there most likely unix. Because that's what would happen in the bible. Once they were once they were taken as prisoners in palace. We have a whole book stories that we love to tell our kids about daniel right and we talk about the end times. We love to go to daniel and talk about you know that kind of stuff. There's there's a whole church in ethiopia that today still claims and traces their lineage. Back to a conversation with an ethiopian eunuch on-road from jerusalem Who's who has converted and baptized than an the ep ethiopian. Church still says. That's where we come from because he goes back right but somehow we've said that the highest ideal value is marriage is is being committed marriage with two children and suburban suburban right. Right right. I mean even within our culture. We do not have father's day and mother's day and a far saying on mother's day or a single people's they right we just don't either and so i would say for maybe the if we were to sum everything up that there's a really deep call. Or there's a really deep spirituality to being single and that there is special and it's needed and it's not any worse of a calling that being said we also need to adjust start cultural narratives and what we say in how we talk. And how he fee with people that needs to shift so that they can also feel that calling especially this has been another episode of the modern anna baptist. "Because i think save his neighbor's a little under appreciated. But i don't know i fell off once once. Massaro became a cop yet. Will i do understand what they stop saying. Cops eventually. i just didn't wanna watch digital cops but anyway you have to get to work in like forty minutes which wrap up yes. So what. What a actual lowlights. Because those were the only two that could pass the to me is still very shaky Pencil sketch but the animation is is not a was the pencil. Sketch yeah Which is fine. I i will will laugh at animation. And i will love like things not looking right but like i will never like deduct points from enjoyment of an episode because of how it looks in fact sometimes i really like when it looks bad because it's funny. I don't understand why didn't bring lot mon. And for that matter the woodman along especially if lot months going to be able to be psychic i think because the woman would just enough good fighters in with with the bud want us while i think that just be a risk like in the in the way so i. I think that's fine. I'm i i don't mind the psychic like jet nine tricks that lot one has i guess it's fine. View release really shallow way to write out the fact that lot mama's opie and should be coming along to white enemies but a lot buds. No pay ones like stuck a rookie level. I don't think they can evolve to vima but they do have glowing gold powers that do whatever. The show demands literally parted to the green. See that that was that was cool. But i'm okay with lot one being. I'm just. I'm just glad still walk a superfan and is just like chilling. I guess it lonzo sakari adventure. Yes that's fair. yes she is that makes sense. I don't know. I still want to looking at the screen. Shot with all the votes behind. And they're like so happy to see a growing except one in the mid allegedly. That's true. I could see that. Like many of the pub upset about it. Why that i. i'm glad they actually drew different faces on the would model because it makes them again. I'll put this in the in the show notes as well. But i'm glad that you different faces on different ish faces on a little on the woman but the grumpy one just reminds me of That i think it's like in his in beanies when you have to like cook pizza for these stone troll things and he just looks like one of the stone trolls when you've given him like a pace he doesn't like oh i just appreciate how this has something i don't like i just i love how the even faces on them because it was in In i think it was the season when we had some characters go out of the lift and they were just the same character like looped like. I'm just so glad we're not doing that. We don't just have like background character. Face they look like they're actual. No no like i said i have to think that this represents a shift in budget at this point or something shifted staff members. Perhaps except i think except me except the saurez neck Mean yeah told me berman. Simple look what happened but we are. We are allowing characters to talk. Were having exposition. Where were doing things. Were not just sort of vaguely going places for the first time. In many episodes the background has not been say the ocean or just darkness and some rocks and own. The bad guy can't talk anymore which we didn't lead. We didn't have any talking bad guys in this episode kind of appreciate that..

Panama remembers being the darkness and straight up says the almost became like a like something dock and we get a shot of like his co. by shadow. She's post may be shadow show on north. Think it's in. The shadows often think it might be called foal download like the same as wasn't before it could be fall down mood now. The ricky says it's just blacks rafi. Okay the dog bit. Which is the shadows from school because he he showed up in frontier for anyway serafim on looks evil and like he's wing stop changing anybody just becomes his evil thing and it's so cool that we referenced that something evil was happening at love that and then and says he's everyone's hoping that the meeting take basically stopped him from becoming this shadow salafi mon which is just like thumbs up to like the show for remembering that there was some miasma going on and i i appreciate it an impediment says he's everyone's End to fame on june board and carry. Looks like he's going to say yama taping doesn't like he's like the onset and like he's just going to say it again. It's like samuel yama. It's this big. He doesn't need it. He's boaty says stop managed and they managed to show not hell for for a moment. Which like well done show for showing something and then pat him on says that he'll protect everyone even if he's not angel and from here even though i was already show that we're going to get pegasus moan. Because he was on the device toy and the episode title. I was like okay. He could dislike glow. Like he's lloyd. Before and had like a little bit of an attack buff but no he just evolves to pay phone any evolves. He doesn't arm revolve. He does he teaches throwing out the idea of juryman paul's which is is good we also crests. Which is also very good. The crests are still there. We didn't have to the symbol which was really discreet. We also have a named more than anything to do with giving them up has personality traits but is only be named because it's been written on his tablet it just said like the africa. The wedding was it wasn't emblem. it was like remember. The rune of of wisdom. Sometimes it was written in english but anyway that's like the the only thing i'm fine with them not having a things to collect fine with. Did you. mental not existing like digital exists but not the digitals and also the fact that we have a path being pigs. This on makes me think that black mild ramon might be titled one because that could we already know the meldrum on egypt's miracles. We've tilman so kind of still think it's going to be one. But i feel like male draymond would be pretty cool and neither are impossible at this point because i suddenly have your digital. Was my house it all time here. It wasn't the me the bad guy. It was the horse the halsey. It's possible now which is pretty cool so of course we have a moment. That will make av happy. We get bay the winners happy so we like this episode was driven as like this is what could be yeah. It had actually been bought. It had it had characters not be just engulfed in flames or drown. And then be fine like this episode was almost like what if the russians were just listening to. Abc thoughts because we get the winners a little bit. We get pat him on. We get cute moments of panama..

I appreciate it anyway. So suddenly there to hang on the chasing after the group and be on wonders if they'll be asian because everyone realizes it's paint. Hope minute since anyone has mentioned four and thanks beer on which i do appreciate the reference it like yes digital will not only killed them but also eight them like i. It makes them seem more dangerous even though killing is also bad but it just makes them seem more like animals so i appreciate that. We're just a reminder. These are animals. Augmon evolved to graham on in one of those really cool real time flashes. Which again i appreciate. I don't like when we get the full long animation. If they're quick real time flash makes it seem that it's actually happening like in real time. I i like that. And then a strange cloud shows up. and it's severe. Ramon who is the boss of the feynman and then the fan wants severe. Ramon attacked the group. And come on. "Every week on this podcast given out. Nfl awards app. The week is over. This could be a bit ambitious but thirty two teams thirty two awards. Let's go we're gonna call this one the best six and ten team of all time award but the washington football team stepped up so now he renamed it already way to change the word on the fly in the moment with breaking news the best seven and nine team of all time award the washington football team now can we say that definitively it may be too early to say last year tampa atlanta both went seventy nine. Those teams didn't even make the playoffs so the early lean is that washington could be the great one of all time. But we don't know yet. Speaking of that game. The clockwork orange award goes to the new york giants because they had to watch i at one point. This season banned myself from nfc east games. I said i wouldn't watch any until the teams are over five hundred. I watch step drop sixty two instead of being super locked into washington philadelphia. And i don't feel like i miss much. I know there's a lot of controversy would get that. Maybe a little bit later but imagine having your eyeballs taped open like clockwork orange and being a member of the giants having to watch that game. Nate sub-field now. Look we can sit here and be upset about it but you could have gone seven nine and got into the playoffs. So how sorry. Can you really feel for the giants the skeletons on the zahara award. Yes some of these awards. We referenced. his some won't get boy when you do get a weird one. You're gonna go man. I get that all right. That award goes to the. Las vegas raiders. Because at the beginning it looked promising. Nice little boat trip trade. Some spices await were crashing into rocks. Not a big deal here. Some locals gathering on the beach here to help nope now. We're marching to our own death in africa so it was very pro gruden. Hey maybe this gruden guy knows what he's doing and then you're like wait. Does this actually suck again. The drought continues. The raiders have not won a playoff game. Since two thousand to the notre dame award that goes to the green bay packers great record high green. Bay's really good. They're thirteen three though the one seat but nobody outside of their own fan base is rooting for this team. Not only because of the history of hatred. Although i imagine there's way more anti notre dame stuff out there than it is anti green bay but no one trusts you. Yes you're thirteen and three but that's three. Nfc conference championship game losses in the six seasons. A couple down years. They've turned this thing around. They are the one seed. But everybody's kind of overt already before. It's even started the parent's weekend award that goes to the new orleans saints. You guys know the deal parents weekend. There's a dad he wants to stay out with you guys. And he's older he's a little beat up and you're like i don't know like we're going to go out. We can't say no. We respect him too much. It doesn't look great. Doesn't make a ton of sense on paper there's some bad stats in there. But you have to let them do it. You have to let them try and the thing is is you and your buddies like there's no way does this is going to end well. The iceman award that goes to the dallas cowboys man and dangerous. What is with this jolt. A don't let us get hot. This is insanity when this was part of the story lines throughout the cowboys broadcast. Yes you on three in a row. "Plug a microphone into your computer. That's ideal but you can just use your phone Just make sure you try to keep it chill respect the tone that we've got going on over here we sure appreciate it and let us know what you think your your dream blizzard. You can also email us their male apple dot rest Dan You had a harrowing serial adventure and Before you tell your better story I would like to also share a serial escapade from my week. Please please because I think you're yours is Has a lot more job. I JUST WANNA share mine is kind of Nice. I made Made Rice crispy treats the classic But I Found this new recipe that Alton Brown is not new recipe but on Brownie video this week. he's been doing a series of like quarantine recipes shooting himself but he Us Freak. You're being you. He toasted the rice in A. I know right right so man I I was. I was watching this before I went to sleep in bed with Sydney and I literally was off the bed. Just like you maniac. You Madman how could you? How could you do this And he also added this. This is really a game changer. he brown the butter first off the brown butter and then sprinkled some kosher salt in there before melting the marshmallows. And with it absolutely I mean they were out of Control. Good can't I can't recommend that enough to even just toasting the the Christie for a few minutes for hand. Wow really really nice how it's like the sequel to hot butter. Cheerios treats hottest treats hottest to treat was actually my nickname. A yeah the experience I had as people might have seen on the cereal EST lead. Twitter was there. I was pouring myself an innocent bowl of chocolate peanut butter cheerios. Because I couldn't get enough of that sort of powdered cheerio effect that we mentioned earlier but I kind of does yelp out loud almost when this happened because two big chunks happen. I was pouring the ball and I looked down and you see all these stories about people who have found weird pieces of cereal or they found something weird and their bowl and you know all of us have maybe had the moment where refound to frosted mini wheats stuck together but these were chunky bricks of just chocolate peanut butter flavoring. The the dust itself about the size of each one was about the size of an egg. Yolk. I'd say Houser but fully dance and I couldn't help but take this as a sign of good luck and being presented with an object of such raw power. I had to taste had to know inside of it. It could have been an egg yolk inside for all I knew but I took a bite and it was basically like the sweetest sand I've ever tasted. I did exactly that. Same Texture and it was smack in the taste buds sweet but it wasn't the same flavoring that was on the area. I think this was a powerful moment for my cereal career. I like to think that all my time is a serious blogger. I've served generated this gravitational pull and that has brought these moons to me and given me experienced. I can share with you now. Congratulations I guess is the first thing that I should say is a huge moment for anybody. you know the serial anomaly that I love is when you get the occasional Puffed piece of cinnamon toast crunch dealer talking about like inexplicably. There'd be one that is just as a big pocket of air in the middle of it. they're so light and crispy allowed to see those. It's like when you get a slice of pizza with the big the big bubble in the cross the big bubble off bobble phenomenon. That is most intriguing to me and probably always will be until they experience it for myself is the people who post claiming to have found three pop tarts in one patch. It's a very tenuous subject because at first you would think anybody could just fake bat. But I've tried I had so many. Spongebob seabury POPs. There didn't know what else to do with so I tried to see how likely it is to shove another pop tart into a pouch. It only contain a two and it's downright impossible so I think all these photos of people who found a triple pack have to be real. I think the the pop tarts twitter. The official page has joked about it before. So this seems to be Either something that the is just a factory mishap or it's something they do. Keep you know. Buzz happening around the pop tarts experience. Or perhaps this was an accident and somebody out there is only getting one pop tart pouch less sad. Since I I saw this. I've wanted this to happen to me. It's gotten to the point where I'm willing to eat. An rulli number of pop tarts just see just to finally hit that moment where I pick a pouch out of the box and feel. This is too heavy.

"With marshmallows. And that's it. There's a fourth story here unprecedented. But I'm thrilled. So this is a another fast food. Pairing for cereal and it comes from Weiner Schnitzel which is a chain that does not exist in my state and I absolutely no familiarity within order food but The news came second hand that they are adding fruit. Loops is cream and milkshakes to their menu. You can take that as you will. My experience with Fruit Lips. Flavored shakes extends to the Burger King Version. Which was actually really good. Not a lot of people talk about how the trilogy of Burger King Cereal Shakes which also included. Good lucky charms and cinnamon toast. French were very very solid. So there's zero percent chance they'll ever try this wieners tussle product just based on geographic proximity. But if you have tried it anyone who's out there listening in their service area. Please let us know These look delicious. I think I would still eat them Did they do say cereal? Blizzards Dairy Queen would do that. I can't think of what nuns bringing to mind. I mean they've done tons of candy but I don't know that I've ever seen a serial blizzard. Yeah I can't say for certain either I Dunno with a moderate lactose intolerance. I probably shouldn't even be thinking about wizards but yeah tation there You know what I'm I'll I'm going to ask our question of the week early now and and we'll we'll talk about Question of the week later. But what if you'RE GONNA make a serial blizzard which is of course just blending ice cream into of a food product until it's extremely thick so thick in fact that you can turn it upside down. If you were going to dairy queen. Dan Yes I have. Did you know that they have to turn the blizzard upside down and get it for free? I've heard I've heard I've never true. I've never seen it go awry yet. Yeah they only have to do one though they. If you're buying like Abe Liz I wanNA hear about your. Your hot takes care of us. You've put spoon to ball and actually gone the extra mile and eaten. Cereal your thoughts. Yes folks just for you. I actually tasted this cereal but on the line it's actually cheerios. But it is gluten. Free Cinnamon Cheerios. As we mentioned in our previous episode. And this is the sort of thing I that We in maybe you liked thought was just going to be a downgraded version of CHEERIOS CINNAMON. Oat crunch crunch line. We're big fan big fan. Probably one of the greatest innovations than cereal in recent memory but for those cheerios fans and cereal fans in general who cannot eat gluten. I think this version of Cheerios. A surprisingly a very good standalone product regardless of your dietary preferences. So if you're familiar with any of the recent limited edition you might know that they have this way of thickly. Powering them So I from the very first time you taste one. This is different from the crunch line. Which is very sticky and sort of encased in this fine chainmail of of sugar glades but the cinnamon. Cheerios are more like strawberry. Cheerios or the chocolate peanut butter cheerios. And they are very very thickly. Dusted WITH CINNAMON. Sugar Flavor and. There's something interesting about cinnamon cereal in that no to ever seen by tasting exactly the same which is interesting because it's just one spice right. How many different versions of it can be but from cinnamon toast crunch to cinnabon? Cereal to cinnamon frosted flakes and now gluten. Free Cinnamon Cheerios. I think we've once again tasted a whole new. Take on cinnamon for breakfast These are good. They are probably like a four out of ten in the actual tasting the cinnamon spice level. It's not really there in the foretaste you kind of get this. Blend of cinnamon and brown sugar primarily along with that very very much needed grounding out component of the cheerios the the actual spice flavor. Only sneaks up on you in the after taste. So it's a very very diverse experience from I to to you know the final taste of the milk and I think whether you a limited diet or not you she they try these or mix them with two years of crime cinnamon version for a very nice textural carnival if you will experience You know a great cinnamon cereal. My favorite to remember and I think this is another that I don't think has been replicated But it was crunchy starters which was very really is based on the Swedish chef from the muppets. Release for a year in eighty eight An eighty nine that had briefed come back in ninety two according to Wikipedia But that was a very delicious sediment cereal tenements great pairing breakfast. Yeah that's that's one that makes a lot of lists of these random serious that were only out for a limited time that everybody wants back because taste at once. And it's a landmark. Could you tell much difference between like a gluten free cheerio and regular you know I think most cheerios? Just the base cheerio. Experience tends to be gluten free and it's only getting to the various additives that makes a difference so the base cheerio is very much intact. What about poor DAN ABOUT SPONGE COMPENSATE CEREAL? Spongebob cereal. I will say outright I have to give it some credit for not being the worst licensed cereal because again my base line for a bad licensed cereal is Super Mario Cereal and I find that God. You've mentioned it twice. We stop. I want the world to learn from its mistakes and we have to speak truth to power but when it comes to licensed cereals. I find that there are three different types. There's the absolute trash. There are the passable filler variety. And then there's the actual innovative ones that bring their own flavor to the table. Spongebob serial released for the sponge on the run movie coming out soon alongside the Seabury pop tarts which we talked about last time is exactly the same. In terms of overall flavor composition as a number of past Kellogg's branded vice serials like frozen cereal or finding dory cereal and that does not have a unique flavor to. It's still very much a serial peace and Margaret Experience but it also does not use corn as the only ingredient in the actual cereal pieces. It is a corner not blend fashioned into these little hollow squares so the same squares that were in the other cereals now it just works to serve the analogous advantage of spongebob. But it is those squares which are very very similar to lucky charms so overall if you like lucky charms it will say you'll enjoy the cereal but the markets here are they're nice. They're they're good in terms of Mar Margaret Innovation. That you can tell that they were not all shapes that existed already. There were just Changed in color to fit the spongebob brand. We've got spongebob. We've got Patrick. And we've got the pineapple so if nothing else. It reminds me of spoiler alert for those who have not seen the first spongebob movie. But I wouldn't. Spongebob and Patrick. Nearly meet their end as dribbled up as dried up shriveled up shapes they sort of look like these markets do yet the frozen to Syria was not bad. The pieces were were actually a pretty nice compliment to the MAR beds. I think what is just the corn and Marquette's that's can be a rough combo. There's like not a lot of texture to offset the hyper sweetness and shocks me. That cereal manufacturers don't just realize now that is your golden ticket to me exponentially better than it ever could have been before it's true to true. You know you only to abuse lined up for this week. I had a quick hit aucoin immersion that I wanted to throw because We've been talking about it serious. I'm still trying to get people to send me more of Po box fifty four hundred West Virginia two seven zero six. Maybe we can make the segments international cereal corner especially we finally tropical fruit loops. That are unexpired people. I'm dying here but a very dear listener um who. I have withheld their identity. Because I didn't think to ask him if it would be okay Sent me a box of WEETABIX MINIS CIA ship. Yes so dino. We'd've evicts I do. Yes the very challenging experience of trying to eat this measured wheat brick before it's too soggy or to dry. Yeah the best way I could describe. It is if you had a shredded wheat and condensed it to where there was like less erronous in it And you were sort of like you said racing against time very hardy. I would say a very big hardy of flavor That was very nicely offset. I thought by the smaller shape. I think traditionally weetabix are much bigger than this And also the chocolate flavor Was was really nice to And I actually really enjoyed this one. I thought it was. It was very hardy. The chocolate was not overpowering. Lee Sweet but My mouth watering just thinking about it was It was a very good. I enjoyed Several bowls of it on my last Cheat Day so so highly. Recommend if you are. A listener in that neck of the woods can score. We'd Vicks. I would take go for it your normally when I eat weetabix I just in a good way. I feel like a grazing cow. Almost in terms of the the texture and the the general mindlessness of the the palatability there. It's a project for sure. Sh Dan what are we? Ask Our our listeners. Last week to your call last time around we asked what is a limited edition. Cereal variety that you cannot believe has not been made already. Okay Okay so you sit in your responses and we are going to share Some of those with you right now. Hello Dan and Justin. I would like to propose my idea for currently non-existent cereal spin off. I urge you in anyone who may be listening to consider simply toast crunch in a world. Where DRAMA CAN FLOM? Chaos have taken over nearly every facet of our daily lives. Perhaps it is time to take a step back from cinnamon toast crunch French toast crunch or even as Dan mentioned gingerbread toast crunch and move on to something a little more realistic clean. Why were we toast? No need to fuss with any toppings toast crunch a little bit of call in all this chaos. Thank you for this podcast. It helps me sleep every night. Hi Dan dressed in. This is Leah from Philadelphia. I would like to suggest a burnt maple golden gram I think the slight bitterness of the maple combined with its sweetness would go well with the current Graham Flavor. I know it's not unlikely parent but it's one that I would really enjoy seeing and tasting. Thanks a lot Have a really Nice Day and I hope you're doing well. I hi Dan and Justin. This is Corwin from Ohio. A spinoff cereal that I am. Frankly quite surprised hasn't come about yet is A lemon flavor of cheerio lemon. I think is such versatile flavor. You could obviously go the route of sourness with it of Tang. But I also think lemon has the possibility of being gentle kind of sweep flavor. I think seeing cheerios take on a lemon flavor in the style of perhaps eleven bar or other sweet faintly tangy lemon desserts could be a very powerful addition to the serial. Thank you for the podcast. I think toast crunch be really good. I'm a fan of all these ideas but I just feel like toast crunch is would be a really powerful cereal. Yeah I mean my go to answer for this would be gingerbread toast crunch but I don't know that feels a little too obvious for me at this point. I might look for something more like a cheesecake. Cereal I WANNA see how that would work. Yeah I would be nice. Actually I'd say cheesecake factory should have a line of Cereal. Really good idea. I'll be shocked with that does not happen So we already told you the question we'd love for you to answer this week If you want to tell us about your dream cereal blizzard and on over to bowl dot rest.

"You look out after the last crash of thunder his past and you open the Porthole. I don't know if you can open portholes. I'm not a boat guy but you open this one an outside you notice. The seas are calm and they are milk and they're dotted only by the occasional crunch berry or mar bit here swimming in the Empty Bowl and it's our pleasure to have you. My name is Justin mcelroy. And I'M A serial enthusiast. I'm Dan Gilbert and I am your cereal first mate on this maiden voyage into the Franken Berry see of rose colored and milk. Captain Horatio says that we can Say to go up on the deck for a while so let's go A swab it out. This a meditative cast about cereal and all that really means is that we invite you for the next half hour just relaxed be stilled become and allow your brain though. The racing and pacing does day in day out. Just allow your brain thirty minutes to focus just on cereal if you notice your mind wandering to things just notice that you've done so then return your attention to cereal. It's a half hour or so you can do it. Remedy some cereal news. We're GONNA do some cereal reviews and we'll have some fun to won't be button cereal content. Dan I consider it a great pleasure to be talking to you here right now. A very grateful for the opportunity. You know me too. I think we have found a great dynamic here when it comes to balancing the great cereal ship. I'm just GonNa keep going with the nautical metaphor I can think of a different one There's here I'll continue it We are there spotted to the The telescope we We can make out an island. It's a land mass. We can't make out what it is exactly. But we know from our various inaugural charts. The name is I hop Pan flakes cereal so the island of I hop is repopulating. It's better shores of of butter and Maple Syrup if we when we last saw. It was in March when they were releasing their cereal pancakes and shakes in the restaurant. This included Lucky. Charms cinnamon toast crunch and captain crunch in both cereal topped. Pancake and cereal milkshake for him. So the interesting story here. Is that around that same time? I have was also developing the idea of a miniature pancake cereal. The idea got shelved for a bit because of everything that's going on but in the time when it was shelved suddenly this trend appeared on. Tick Tock of making pancakes cereal on your own. So people are basically making normal pancake better but making extremely tiny circles when they do it on the grill and When it's done you basically just poured onto a bowl and eat it with your Milk or syrup of choice but that kind of Was the perfect sort of signifier for I happen to their plans to make pan flake cereal. It's kind of in a curious state of limbo as to exactly how. This product will be presented because on twitter. They first announced it as just something we're working on and you look at this box and it's clearly not official kind of is carrying the normal info. You would see on a cereal box. And the only reason I'm not one hundred percent sure whether it's an actual cereal is because if you look at the trademark application that they filed it only describes the this concoction as pancakes topped with breakfast cereal so that there was the whole thing into a bit of disarray. Whether we're not sure because the box art makes it look like just nil away for cereal almost as via it was a maple version that which sounds fantastic honestly. Hope it's exactly what it is and it's available on retail shelves but this could be a case of something that's very limited overpriced in the restaurant as a cereal might be. Or it's the what you're you're describing that trademark sounds like the pancakes at ihop offered with like various serial toppings. There's also the potential that it would be normal pancakes. You eat as menu item. But then those topped with little tiny crunchy miniature pancakes sort of this layered concoction of multiple layers of redundancy but a good layer of textural contrast as well. So the whole thing's basically steeped in intrigue and a lack of certainty right now. Just gotTa wait and see what's coming next. Yeah the really interesting thing to me about. This is that there is no established. Cereal partner. Mike in a player in the game that is attached to this. And that is weird to me because you know I'm sure show. I know the the business of the grocery businesses very competitive especially in terms of like just obtaining space in. It seems weird that like a player like I hop would build a muscle their way in without you know more established brand alongside. We see these things like co branded if they're going to be of sort of major retail release. Yeah that's how it was with timid cereal a little bit after we heard about it that it was made clear that this was made by post. So since they're the ones who seem to be doing that recently I wouldn't doubt with this is opposed to product. It seems like exactly the type of wacky thing that Malta meal would do but remains to be seen. This could just be another over hyped thing the I hob Burgers were keeping the fun cereal kid-friendly cereal theme going. Tell me about fun. Fatty Serio. We'll fund is really a strong word to attribute to the serial. This is also a very very similar case of something where the ownership is very divided. Fun Fatty as you might know is a brand owned by Pillsbury which is and then turn owned by General Mills so you would think that a fun. Syria would be made by General Mills but in fact the origin of this is currently unknown. Because I'd emailed someone they know. General Mills about possibly getting a sample of the cereal and I know other cereal bloggers like Earth cereal content creators like Gabe did as well. And we're told that this is not a general mills product at any sense because apparently Pillsbury has a difference in ownership between those who make like the competes consumer packaged goods versus look to Cobra and and stuff and I don't really understand it exactly but they told me that I need to reach out to hometown foods for more information so I don't have in my back pocket and a good buddy over at hometown foods but maybe many of them are listening. Could give us a better clue as to. Who's making fun for cereal? If I had to guess I would say this is a post product as well because they look remarkably similar to the timet cereal again. The birthday cake version and since that was only available in Canada it would make sense for them to use the same shape as something. That is more recognizable to an American audience. Which is fun. Petty so hometown foods is a holding company. Oh that is owned by a private equity. Firm called Brentwood partners. Oh up hometown foods Pillsbury Hungry Jack Martha White White Lily. Jim Dandy Arrowhead Mills and Pillsbury Fun Feddie. Which they've established as a separate brand companies from the sovereign state of fun ferry on. This might be another case they might be making pamphlets also for we know right so basically this is a case. I don't know ask my dad. He's somebody else could make fun. Which is ridiculous in the end because as we know with any cereal the bills itself as vanilla or birthday cake flavored. It's probably just gonNA taste like sugar and not necessarily be worth the the layers of corporate hierarchy that that come with it I am. I'll be honest slightly more enthusiastic about our next news story and I think probably even more enthusiastic than you And that could just be because it's a very slight bit of variety with license heroes who've been getting lately but I don't know. Are you talking about baby? Yoda cereal indeed. I am so I'm curious as to how you see this as being different than any other license cereal before we say anything about it. I think I may just be happy. That it's not rings is that is that is that wild? I mean I know that this is not a a deviation from the The the traditional Star Wars Syria although Syria pieces in star wars or more like Can't even make these things out looking at them here to reconfirm. It's like I don't know. They're very oddly shaped impressionistic. Cereal pieces along with the Marquette's yes so previous releases of star wars cereal from General Mills. Who Have you know? Trucked out that Syria for all of the new trilogy films I think they're like starship shaped corner. Please share bearing. They believe but they had a number of Margaret Shapes including lightsabres stormtrooper helmets. And things like that and they also had these green iota marshmallow. That are the sorry another baby Yoda marshmallows ago. And they're the only ones that appear in baby iota cereal along with corn puffs so assume that this is probably like a kick scenario paired with just marshmallows. It's not particularly exciting to me I don't really like licensed cereals that just add most anything as we're probably going to talk more about every the corn buff pieces. I don't know maybe they'll like kicks. I'm sure they're they're not as big as they look on the package. I think baby yoga on the packaging based and look bigger. Perhaps well there's also the case that the star were cereal was supposed to be fairly flavored and sure there's a weird thing with thirty flavored cereal that if it's a licensed cereal the fruity flavors. Probably going to be pretty bad. When I think about that I immediately think of Super Mario which just had to be one of the worst series that I've tried in the past years I still. I still think I accidentally got three boxes of that on Swedish Day. It also interestingly Seems to as near as we can tell continue the trend of star cereal just being called Star Wars. They have stridently for very long. Time now refused to delineate these these these cereals as they come about man that is why the exception is when they first started these. You can look back through the boxer and it's really amazing because they had like episode one serial at episode serial. And if you look at the Mar bits. It's the same that they have been doing for. I think they made like ten billion of them in there like worlds. Just keep just keep putting different stuff on the box in rear end. But is the same Margaret Star Wars which is called Star Wars. I think as meant to be like Oh long term for the clone wars where they just keep making it the exact same and they're protected sort of isolated area there. The machines and molds necessary for making these specific Margaret's says the man delorean at the bottom of the box but I don't think this is the first Syria with the subtitle. I don't think this is star. Wars the mandatory cereal isn't even baby iota cereal by definition it is star wars. Sweeten corn puffs.

"Oh I would love to be great. Yeah we love up to. We'll get you in so much now. I'm not GonNa lie going into that interview you think this guy's got a a lot of dough right. Yeah but this guy. He's very down to Earth normal guy. Yeah that was my big takeaway from meeting him and being around him for like an hour or so he just seemed like he was hanging out like I expected him to be like someone. Get me some caviar mino- he was just like what's up guys be wrestling person. Someone get three some caviar right now. Tony Kahn is not that. Yeah did you zooming. I want backstage at A. I was wondering I saw Mike and he had like a sticker on his shirt. I like that seems like yeah. It seems like something so I went back sage and I'm not going to say you know there's a code. You don't say what really happens by the curtain but I saw I saw Tony and I i Jericho walk past me. But we didn't exactly lock eyes and if we locked down zone. Yeah well I mean yeah. He's in the zone like what's he in last night or he did wrestle. Wrestle can't say last night references bashing the thirty happened at Fascism live he apparently he attacked on Moxley. Well Well No. He did more than that. I think that Jon Moxley lost an eyeball authorities. Sure I what I saw last night. Was Jon Moxley lose eyeball and then. He came back with the patch. Yeah most curious these wrestling things. I think he's going to be wrestling on a cruise ship with an IPAD. IPAD thinks him a pirate water. Here's what I'm trying hanged figure out if I interpreted what happened yesterday properly or not yesterday on. What really is just GONNA pretend to not have an eye for awhile and and so is his grow back because this seems like something? It's hard to kind of explain how you didn't have an eye for a while. And now you have an unless he gets an eye implant. I don't think I love this angle. That's going on now. I don't think he'd lost. I think he took severe damage to the his. I Yeah I you know. I was under the impression Russian. He Lost Niveau last heels quicker and the other part of your body. It doesn't grow back if is also like looking to see if I could see see the eyeball like somewhere but no no. But it's gone. He I mean you came back with no came back with an eye patch. And then everybody was referring into the fact that he lost deny. Do you think that this is just a rib for them to have like a pirate on a cruise ship. I don't know how quickly your I can grow back once it's gone. That's the thing about Derek. When he took it because he took out a spike to do it he? Yeah that didn't get it from under the ring he had. You could have broken it off his jacket. The looking like a porcupine he didn't it would have been really. Can you imagine if you like display. John Moxley's I in Phoenix style. Bash at the beach was something I like I. I've never seen a w show before and I knew some of the performers because they're you know wrestling people that have been around before I'd live Chris Jericho and DP. There's other guys dean. Ambrose was wrestling remember. Gold dust gold us was wrestling as Dustin Rhodes cody it. Didn't roads name name. Does he wrote this. Other son is like one of the main. I mean Tony. Shivani is back good old Jr.. I love love that everybody was dressed like they were at the beach. Yeah Tony Shivani I mean he needs a tanning is to go to the beach. Hurry especially quite Pale quite pale. He is so never mind. And so you could use a little hero. Chris Harris kind of long. Tony Shivani. Yeah I couldn't believe that a Tony Shivani. Sad I mean it was why I lose it. I The ball you guy it made me want to go on the cruise he Chris he lost an eyeball lost an eyeball. And then you're like okay. Well he's the guy that was in. The ring was like well. I'm the number one contender now. Because he lost it I have also. He's not going to be able to find anymore and then they did the classic. Oh my God we need to go behind the seeds. He broke out of the ambulance. And he's coming and now he has an eye patch and he's clever in blood. That wasn't there when he was in the ring but now it was so green one little nugget that I will get so russell sage. I was backstage. And they have like a a place like where the talent can watch. What's going on? Yeah and one of the DUDES THERE WAS MR ask. It's what Mr was backsied. Billy Gunn Yeah is he asked now no well no. He's not Mr but I think bill Kip Moore forgotten what. No KIP. Moore is a country music singer. I think he's music saying no no. He's he's was naming impact mistress. was there that was really cool. So that's why he stuff because he now switched he works for a w did they take like who does eight. W have that used used to be cody. They took Malingco right. Did I read that or no. I saw demon go back. Say the man of a thousand holes. It was weird because like Jericho walk past. That's how I was like. Wow the band thousand one hold. Yeah and then Malingco is like the man of only one thousand waited that you're processing all of this. Yeah yeah well no I told my friend said that's one of my favorite promos air ever Jericho trying to prove that. He had one more hold than de Milan. Time I very agents agents move seventeen arm bar as a kid. I did not appreciate Jericho and his time in. WCW Like watching on Youtube. I really appreciate reshape this stuff that he was doing. Because I was like you know. Twelve years old ten years whatever it was and I was like attracted to barker's in the fireworks extinct versus W. O. and all this and I'd like the cruiserweight matches I liked the disco inferno gimmick when I was a kid because I was like. Oh yeah I know Jericho honestly honestly when you look at his career and scope the way that he reinvented himself. WWF The fact that he had like a rivalry Gobert without really never like my favorite guy under you if you go back and watch the stuff that he would do on Youtube. You're like man. This guy was like a genius doing some of this stuff and he was like doc. They totally didn't appreciate what he was doing at all like they had him buried like at the end of the show or like ours. Or whatever where you could totally get why he didn't. He had the security thirty gardening. Ralph is that was just no lie. I've read about. He was just a truck driver. That would drive the equipment for WCW and this guy cut off. He gave them a crop top and his stomach would come out because he's like this big fat bald guy that didn't have teeth and he would play this menacing security guard that he would just like go to fans wave his finger. I wanted to ask Jericho about. Ralph is that's the only thing I wanted to ask them about but I didn't because I didn't want to be like a Weirdo wrestling nerd talking to him. Well he's friends with sue God's down so I imagine you'll have the opportunity to burn that bridge a one hundred percent I think that was Jerry Lewis last appearance on the show because to God's is going to Piss off well I. I hope you enjoyed this episode. which was a hybrid between wrestling and a real world road rules? Challenge is just a challenge. It's just a challenge but this again friends was not the challenge episode. We'll get to that. That's coming you know you know. Just I know no one cares about this but I'll just tell you excitement so one of our listeners. I found out. I wonder if so she didn't say this whatever. I'm going to say one of our listeners. That comes to like a bunch of our events who you'd recognize. I don't WanNa say any names was at the New York of it and we were doing meet-and-greet after I was like. Hey what's up. How's it going because I've seen this person? Multiple Times at a bunch of our events. Wife is a lawyer for the challenge so I was like. Wow I'm really excited to meet you and and I was just asking like challenge questions and mostly I can't tell you that I appreciate and I mean it was like I would think I was almost as excited to meet the the challenges lawyer as I was Chris Jericho get her to come on and talk in like a distorted voice or see if you can book for your big challenges the Japanese would try to ask all kinds of questions to sneak in like Hale. Was that film. I can't I can't disclose that and I was like so tune in next week. It might be the challenge galaxy that time. We should do it more when the challenge is going to happen because we just finished the season not too long remember. It's mystery credit cards tip our hand. It could be a non to Louis. It'd it'd be a non to Louis. I have to fix my hair in the worst way line I came back. I was gone for the holidays and I came back and now every time I sit on my chair over the course of ten minutes I. We'll start at the absolute apex of the Chair and sink all the way to the bottom and right now. I'm at the lowest point. I did nothing to this chair. Other than sitting in it It's a problem. The Mike started like at my chest. And now it's like above my head Talking.

"Even though the wrestlers were great and they had some great stories back then when they started getting their hd net like Weekly television show is just like they lost tyler black. Who is now the Eh he fought Daniel Bryan for like One episode of Danielson Bryan Danielson American dragon chat out and then the stars sort of dissipated and it was so frustrating because they had already had their talent rosser totally rated by WWe which had notice. Everything went to the Nigel McGuinness. It's went to the TA and they had some interesting things. They did there at the time when Nigel McGuinness and the young box went and they change their names. And it's like wait who were Desmond Wolfe and generation me Yeah I didn't understand why they would change those guys names with when they built up great reputations and rustling people still with the young bucks joke joke all the time about generation me young bucks and this is sort of my heartache. I think the young bucks when people talk about the Pantheon everyone everyone does like these lists and it always seems just so weighted towards a pass because people get nostalgic and remember what the what things were like when they were growing up. I honestly think that young bucks are absolutely in the conversation grace tag team of all time. I agree with the work that they've done. Really I think to contemporary acts. Stick out its young bucks and new day because a new days really unlike any tag team. Well there's three guys in the temptation they haven't I like that. They've never sort of broken up and it's so easy to go that especially when Kofi goes on a singles around it so easy to do the played out sort of rockers storyline like I hope they keep them as a unit and happy. It's all power positively and I would really hate to see that disbanded but right up there with with the new day in terms of like match-quality the young bucks I think simply cannot be touched right now that is a major guys actually like market them as like a top line star which is so great to see with tag team wrestling. Like there's going to be a w cards were tag team and you've done it with dynamite but pay per views big time pay reviews were the tag team. Championship is a main yet. I mean some of the best matches we've had native of absolutely been the tag team matches and the young bucks and the loser. Brothers helped put the company on the map. You Watch that match The the The ladder match that they had any part of you is like I gotta worrying about protecting my investment here because there were are some bumps in there that were really mad took one that was just genuinely like is. He arrived at the table. Here it's going to be okay. Do you have conversations with this. I know you guys had a rather controversial storyline. With cody. Rhodes taking a chair shot. That wasn't as this story. Yeah the the idea of somebody taking a chair in wrestling. Isn't that shocking shocking. Talking now when you see like a a a chair being delivered to the head in American wrestling because wwe sort of there were a number of things about the execution of that that we're not the way it was supposed to be we don and now so i. I was pretty clear at the time I caught reduce pilot error. Because I thought we had come up with you know I didn't necessarily want anybody using it in the first place but if they were going to do it they were GonNa do it under certain guidelines and those guidelines were not followed. I understan- all that chair shots and sort of blood. That sort of reminds me of like at the E. W J's and there safer ways to do that. Yeah I was looking I WANNA be safer than he. Cw and that was supposed to be safer and that was It was not done the way it's supposed to be and it was addressed do you. You think that's something lacking not for the sake of doing it but I even had anything like that sense by the way since I that was our second show we'd ever done and it was before we started TV and it was. It was fighter fast and it was the second show done and you know I like I said it was addressed after that and I haven't anything like that. Since Moxley Omega had a very violent match you think there's a place for that sort of style when it comes to modern day wrestling storytelling on pay per view. I think there is You know for that. That kind of wrestling You know the hard core fans absolutely. I think there is as an audience for that and I wouldn't put a match like the Moxie Omega Lights out match on television but I think on pay per view the way it was done where we said like okay. Ah We're flipping the lights out and we're not responsible for what you see here. This is the end of the show and you know as far as the kids are concerned laughter. Cristiano versus cody. You can put him to bed. I really really liked that. You'd literally that's a cliche. Put the kids to bed. Match was actually quite funny. One more question for you because I know you gotta go here. I don't know it's What was come back? This is come on. I love to come back double or nothing. There seems as there's temple show in Chicago every year for the first couple years of your double or nothings in Vegas okay. I'm sorry. Yeah there was all out. Yeah there was all in and then it was all out it seems as though that's like the tentpole And then double or nothing came on the scene. Is that going to be like the sort of Wrestlemainia Wrestlemainia of all the double or nothing in Las Vegas. Is that the plan that we've got a big four right now that we were building around we've done set the the kid in you the wwe. Because when I was growing up survivor series royal rumble wrestlemainia Summer Slam. Sure I think there's you know if that helps you know I'm just no I A major the big. We've got the majors exactly the Grand Slam Golf and tennis. You got the big everything has four. I don't I think the end there's room for other are great shows too. I think these are four. We've established and we have other. You know I also I'd like to do you know fighter fast again and we've built up a big four though. Oh and it's you know double or nothing in Las Vegas Memorial Day weekend all out In the Chicago area which is Labor Day weekend. And then you you know in November. We've done full gear this past year. Which went great in Baltimore and I'm not sure as opposed to double or nothing being an all out where I really think those are going to stay around the Vegas in Chicago area? I'd like to go back to Baltimore for full gear. Believe not locked in a location for full gear. So that could that could be that could be a show that kind of moves around potentially but They've we had a great experience in Baltimore and then Also we've got a big show coming up that sold out minutes which were doing for the the first time in February twenty-ninth leap day in Chicago. It will be our next big pay per view revolution and that's going to have a huge huge huge card and it'll be the first time we've done revolution so who knows where that will fit in the hierarchy of this but I do think it's going to be huge. You'd show for US revolution. I'd like to be able to do it every year. But this is the first time we've done it let's Seattle goes it's in conjunction AC- too. It's pretty cool because I'm from Illinois. We've done all out and an episode of dynamite in the Schaumburg area area Hoffman estates the sears centre which is a suburb of Chicago and people are always like. Oh you've done to shows in Chicago we've never done a show in Chicago but revolution is is in Chicago at the wintrust arena. So we'll actually be debut in the city wrestling crowd on the way out here. I'd like to convince you to do a show at craven cottage. Just Mary. All the world's I would I'd love to do it. I've actually been to craven cottage with the box. Actually and we looked at it. and IT'S A it's a big venue and a big outdoor venue and when when we do our debut and show in England. I'm not sure the cause you'll be the first place you'd want. We'd go but it would be a great place to a wrestling any day. Any day I can spend at. The cottage is a good. It's such a classic venue and it'd be so called the C O wrestling show at the cottage. It'd be All Time I can't thank you enough for being so generous with your time. I know you gotta go. Hopefully occasionally when he got a big I shall we can get together and catch up and maybe talk about your product a little bit more because Fan of what you guys around this Wednesday she go to the show..

"If you listen to the show you obviously. We know that I am the biggest wrestling fan on the show and Tony. Kahn has been gracious with his time. With South Beach sessions and sitting in the radio studio for an entire our our with us and I want to take the opportunity to just geek out over wrestling with you. Because I'm very passionate about this wrestlemainia every year. I'm very excited that you guys. This came onto the scene because I think competition makes all the products that much better you take it as a flattering thing when you see Vince McMahon and wwe because it probably is unfair to put it. Just Vince McMahon. When you see them doing things outside of the norm putting main roster stars on T. because they're going head to head with you on Wednesday even though I'm pretty sure both entities are on? The record is not really thinking of it as a competition. But you've got your eye on it and you probably think that's a curious decision. This is actually quite flattering during the I expected an xt would end up on television against us From the outset and I wasn't sure whether it would be on USA or Fox Doc. Sports one but I assumed it would be on either one or USA directly programmed against us as to our show. I wasn't at all surprised about that and I told. TNT from the outset. That was probably going to happen and it did happen. I just wasn't sure what channel and then I did. Expect the roster would get beefed up and you know actually probably happened about a months later than I expected and the hand Kinda got forest with the travel. Logistics problems that they had Do Two overseas shows that they've done and that Ended up leading to a lot more investment in that show and I wasn't surprised to see it with anything. I was probably surprised that it took a month as the president of all elite wrestling. And you're obviously you've been a wwe fan growing up do you. I was it. WWF and was there anything in particular that push you wait. You say that as if you're not a fan of the product. I'm not a fan of other wrestling products. I watch all wrestling shows but I can't really be a fan of any wrestling company anymore. You can't can't be a fan. I can't be a fan of other. NFL teams or other English football clubs either so it changes the way that you actually digest the product now. Do you miss being a fan sometime time. No in the same way that I don't miss you know what no I don't it's a little different with the NFL. Because of the viewing experience guy can still watch wrestling. I can't watch as much watching I don't spend as much time at home couch anymore with the NFL it actually changed everything because the NFL viewing experience. Amazing it's like you know the one downside of owning owning in NFL team and and traveling is like you don't get to sit at home and watch red zone ever and Sunday ticket. That's how good those products are and in wrestling. Yeah Change Change. Allies consumed it but that happened even in the lead up like scouting and watching everything and I. Yeah I you miss being a fan sometimes but I'd much rather be in the position. I'm in I think even being in the position that you're in sometimes you can still get lost in it and sometimes it just boils down to you being a fan. Do you ever sort of lose that that. Because you're you're in the gorilla position for these big shows now at some point you got to be just so geeked out over some of the stuff that you're watching you forget like Oh crap like I'm working gorilla. I never forget the timing because I never I have to do. The time cues but within you know within a it it what I find is really interesting is There have have been a few times where I have absolutely been pure fans the best moments we've had and really enjoyed them but you can't again when you have to keep an eye on the clock and you have to make make sure things are running smoothly you know you can't get that far into it and I think that's similar in sports so that's where I think being in professional sports before Kinda it did serve. Well I know that you're director of football operations for Fulham Football Club. You're the sporting director over there director of analytics for the Jacksonville and Bill. Jaguars so you probably don't have much to watch any of these things live. I know you say you can't be fan anymore but Tony Kahn. Still find himself waking up at three o'clock walk in the morning eastern time to see what's going on with new Japan wrestle kingdom going on but you're watching it sort of like scouting from business perspective. I mean I watch other companies shows IOS and when stuff's good I do enjoy it so I guess yeah I mean I still can appreciate it but you definitely watch through a different Lens like now when you watch. NFL Football Ball. You know you're looking at players and you know you want your friends to do well and I think that is similar like you have relationships with people in the business. That don't necessarily work for you. You you like them and you want him to do well. I was watching some of wrestle kingdom and some all elite wrestlers showed up from arrangements that were done even before they agreed to terms with Ali wrestling. Jon Moxley Oxley the former dean. Ambrose is titleholder over there and Chris Jericho his obviously been second wrestle kingdom that he just took third right Yeah Yeah Yeah. Yeah the Omega match in the Naito Match And now Donna Maha she so I know Chris Jericho some what he said after the wrestle kingdom I phase right now and it might put you in an awkward position because he mentioned specifically how much he would like for. Aws New Japan pro wrestling and have a working relationship. Is that something. That's sort of in the cards for you guys. Not I'M NOT ASKING I. I'm a pretty easy going. Nice Ace guy I I hope I've projected that while I'm here and a believe one good turn deserves another and I guess I'm still waiting for my good turn because because I let I've let them have access to a lot of people when I don't need to I have exclusive contracts with with Chris and John and when they came in they they. This was something that they wanted and I said yeah we can do that. I could yank them at any time. I haven't Because it's important to them. I do it for Chris and John Not for new Japan pro wrestling but if there were people at New Japan pro wrestling it was important to them to come and establish themselves in America on television which is not something they're able to do because they don't have a television show of their own in America then presumably they would come over to aws and make an impact with us no pun intended and I was in trouble like towards into that sense and if they'd like to send people over to work with US I'm open to it but I have some people over there to do things things and I haven't really stood people's way when they have wanted to work. Those shows as long as it doesn't impede US and Chris and John Haven't missed worked for me they've been out all my shows so it hasn't been an issue. They wouldn't go over there if it was going to interfere with what they're doing for Awa so they I think they see it as something complimentary so I'm not opposed to a working relationship and as I see like I've already done a lot of stuff for them so I guess I'm still waiting for something in return. I won't hold my breath. What sort of challenges come with now? This is weekly it's episodic TNT has been in the wrestling game in the past. But it's been a while what sort of production challenges have sort of popped up week to week that you didn't necessarily foresee you you are shows have looked great and I get tons of positive feedback. About how good this shows. Look I think a couple of times There were some sound issues that were out of our control. we've worked on With our network partner and they were like limited domestic issues and in some cases for the most part. I mean. I've been really really happy with our team. We have a crew of guys that's produced a lot wrestling shows. I mean Keith Mitchell. Our executive producer goes back so far in the business I mean not only did he work for the original. WCW He he came over right around the time Ted. Turner bought Jim Crockett promotions and and the NWEA's Crockett territory became WCW But Keith. Even before that that was producing World Class Championship Wrestling Dallas. Von Eric's in the early eighties. And so he goes back in wrestling production as far as anyone else in Keith Ethan. His crew have produced more wrestling pay per views than anybody. Except for Vince McMahon and his team. So he's the most experienced person in the business. You mentioned that you got you that that was available. Obviously Yeah Yeah You've mentioned that You can't really be a fan any more of the products. I do want to talk to con the Fan. So let's go back in time a little bit Ed. I sort of when I was graduating high school and in college I stopped watching wrestling altogether Part of that was the product and part of that was just my growth. But what brought me back was someone sent me a DVD. Knowing that I used to like wrestling and it was a ring of honor and I thought some of the stuff that they did in the early two thousands really building some stars people know seeing punk from what he did at wwe. But I thought he had some of the more compelling stories and this was like old school like DVD's the funniest that's old school now and instead used to be H. S. tapes but I would follow like all the stories that they tell us more Jones punk through. DVD's and that's what really ignited my passion back for the business. And I am stuck with it since you know those are those are so many talented wrestlers on those shows and when you look at the roster it's amazing how many people from that roster have gone on and done great things in wrestling But those shows didn't look good they were in small buildings and You know they came the kind of fall into specter of of WCW which had been this company where that was the number two company for a long time. They've been even the number one company at one point and their shows look great. They were on a great channel. The carried tons of credibility. And they're just having been anything like that in a long time. And that's what I wanted to bring back to wrestling like a roster with rustlers that were exciting to people but like when I look back. Those ring of honor shows. It's hard to be inspired by the company..

"Intro to what this mystery wrestling. Wow wrestling yeah you guys like wrestling. I love wrestling. You love love it more than like yeah. I love wrestling. I go to restaurants I used to love it. I go to Wrestlemainia every year even when I don't actually attend the event that go to the city because I like to be around. The atmosphere is complained that I did that last year. You go all the way and then you're like metlife stadium not a great stadium wrestlemanias. It's if you go to a wrestlemainia you'll realize uh-huh if you ever go to a live event while the ring looks so much bigger on television. This is so much bigger. The did you guys recreate any wrestling matches like with friends growing up like I had had a whole thing with a group of my friends the rest of my dad I never had. I think I have like trampoline wrestling my oldest friends that lived in my neighborhood growing up that I grew up with these is guys and a couple of girls actually like their sister. We like would record ourselves and we would like to entrance music we would arrive to the arena where I'd like the matches. The fire welcome the matches were in my dad and my dad's like where are Peru. It's like my dad. It's like my parents house. Game Room Curios. There's like and we would put four high top chairs at the corners because those would be the term buckles and we literally I would arrive. The camera would zoom in on me at open. My Dad's Corvette Adore and get out as if I'm arriving and I'd walk inside and I'd go into the bathroom. That's my waiting area. That would be my dressing room so I would enter the arena. They would get I mean coming in. How do I watch these videos? I would have. I would have like a bag with my outfit that I'm going to win the match and then I would get into the bathroom. You Change Range in the bathroom waiting to hear my entrance music because we had all those guys had those CDs Jarvis and writers nothing better than as a kid did living that life and getting to like here. You're you're entrance music. You walk out you like it was it was ready and I don't have any of those videos. I wish I didn't got a your dad. How they have to be? What was your music like do we? Were playing all different care wind up. Oh you'd be gained one point. I would triple Appalachian sister. Was Stephanie McMahon. So he no yes yeah we have that story line it was just really ever wrestle with no no. I never did that but I know you're a wrestling fan. Not so much now that you're a grown man with a family and a daughter but it's Tom a hook. The wearing your hat. No remember I used to wear a fishing hook unattached for a little bit. Yeah I remember that happened you were you were the longshoremen and why does that annoying wrestler. You'd be the longshoremen okay. Why does bring up something you used to do and knowing you because he got it completely wrong as I? Oh I didn't get it wrong. You used to wear a hook on your hat. That's a big wrestling fan. Yeah but a fallen off a little. What was what billy said? Y- in fact they said that I really. Who's your favorite wrestler of all time right? Oh it's It's the Rock.

"Classes like yeah. I'm not different rocking event. Not Yeah Yeah although you go on. TV sports hosted by Dan. Cortes can jockey so ahead of its time it really was like rock and jock basically was what we're trying to turn every sport into whenever we do stuff but it's like a fun. Celebrity all stars Grade McDowell. Wow I love it. It's I basically got on that just because he flipped off the Yankee Stadium. Yeah that's all it took I'm prince. Fielder was in it when he was a little Tyke. Like those really cool to see what was what's your MTV show that you're going with rock and jock no because you can do that. One you know other show you'll MTV press basically okay. I thought I can't think of another Roy. Chris Chris Dying Jersey. Shore gotta go get water. I'm really don't you're sharing water. made it seem like an emergency I'm really worried about him turning into his dad like He. He's doing the coughing thing now. He's getting it from his dad man. That's a good question. There's a lot I still the challenges so great you. So is there. Watch the challenge. Now I haven't watched the challenge all the way through like from when I was like a young buck to now I I caught back up on the challenge a couple of years ago. I'd say the man the challenge now is not what the challenge then was like the challenge now is basically across Rospa competition like every week and then they just like show you all the debauchery that goes on behind the scenes up in the house. There's not even so much hooking up anymore there's just like a lot of fighting and the thing about the challenge that makes me kind of sad. Is that like I see a lot of the same fights and a lot of this stuff and then I look at them like you're or forty five like why are we still having these same fights over and present. TV So bringing you back is just because you've been on the challenge for like twelve years and like you're one of the favorites favorites like I wonder why that were feel like they're out of the demo. What do you mean like if bright the challenge is like really high ratings? The challenge has like an older demo. It has to Oh Savings Jersey shore. No but they they like inject new life into the challenge. So you have like the old savvy. Vets y'all around West was in it this this season and west and Johnny Bananas Will Just never be on the same page. It doesn't matter. It could be all the young people so this season on the poor. What about those are the big take three took some time off? I think he came back. And here's an interesting an interesting thing about the challenge and if we do like a whole challenge thing which we could do and I could talk to Charlie craft up to because he loves the challenge also we looked up like the size in Hyde and all that of the challenge competitors. CT You look at him right. He's not a huge coach. He's a how I would imagine six three and like I don't know I don't show they google. CT They show him and C.. T. Yeah Yeah. They'll just come up with the challenge. Okay see tonight so. CT Mississippi looks like a monster. And they haven't being like this crazy. He's six six feet tall. Oh my God that's all and I'm not saying sixty taller. That's nothing but like they say him they show these people they looked like warriors like he's CAMIs towering over everybody else they have this new guy that that's Paula's name right. So paulie super jacked also. and He's good at competitions. He mounts off if a little too much like its mouth gets him in Detroit. But he's good at all the competitions and you see them you're like man that guy's jacked right in spoiler alert in the finale. This year of the challenge. Paulie is like passing out and like his body is giving up on him because they made the last competition like crazier and crazier every year. And then he goes. I'm only a hundred and fifty pounds. Like what like like. And he's like five six or something they're not like these people running your mouth is how you that's how you get staying power though I the knowing where do I know this from. And he's so. I have a question before. We know him personally. No from real world s because that was so. That's that's where the I I feel like I know where this question's going because like I know people from yeah because a challenge used to be real world versus road rules challenge Eh. They stopped doing road rules and essentially stopped doing real world. Even though they had I think like a special facebook season a couple years ago there was like just on facebook worthy new contestants coming from so they get the contestants from there like dating shows after like. Oh yeah so. They started getting a bunch of people from our either one which it was a dating show which I love. Are you great. They brought in some. I don't know if they brought in people from ex on the beach and not they may have but then like two seasons ago they started bringing over like international like players from shows that are like on MTV and like Europe in different places. Eddie play so like the last two seasons. They've had the first season let's just last season was us against England and it was war of the worlds right and they had some people that weren't from the US or England and they really draft. Cat was on the British team the entire season. 'cause he was one of the free agents and he was drafted to the British team because the US didn't choose CT and spoiler alert. It costs them because the Brits ended up winning it's such a great show I love and now what they're doing is because they're bringing in people that haven't been on any shows now so like just to show you how it's become just across competition. They're like going out there. I don't know if it's like the Spartan yes spartan race. Yeah but I don't know if that's what it was but it's like one of those in like Oh try out for MTV's to challenge at your local sport and race and we're going to be appearances by ninety Johnny Bananas. I don't know who Johnny Bananas L.. Wow Yeah it's been a while. Even an is is like the Johnny Bananas China's we'll be eighty five and he'll still be on the challenge the Dawn. He's the guy who comes in there. He's all cocky like I'm the vet. He's like the Godfather and it's kind of funny because he I mean we're going doing really deep into the challenge we are we are and this will say this for a special episode. Scrape is not about the challenge right now on the air but this is how it words. Chris gave me this thing this. If you watch the water this is how it works. The older vets for whatever reason think that they're untouchable and like the young young people come in and they're just trying to prove themselves to the vets the entire time so for the most part. The vets are untouchable because no one will throw them into like the challenge where they decide. Who's who's going home because they're afraid of them so a lot of the older people just kind of skate the entire season and they never actually have to compete until like championship round? Because the young people like I don't WanNa on January as the old vets have become floaters because everybody's afraid of getting on their bad side so they just pick off. The young people like through intimidation and like mind games the whole time. We need to do a special big brother episode when Big Brother Rams backup. I do like these previews and we'll we'll have a challenge so much it is assists if I were to pick an MTV show. I think there was a question. We were trying to wait before we get to that so if we do the big brother thing that you were saying so we got sent avails from time to time and one of them was Tom Green and we should have Tom Green onto talks about big brother because he did celebrity big brother and he's like he was pretty good at it. He was just on the wrong side of the house when he did it. I would like to get Dr Will. Also she get Johnny Guy. Rose me the wrong way. You weren't a doctor. Will you watch when he was on now. I just kind of see like every season is we did Michael Jordan of big brother talks and I didn't see him so I don't have that respect for him so I just kind of see him as with all due. Respect the doctoral like this this annoying guy that I have to deal with every finale night. And he's like oh great doctor. We'll talk to all the people that lost the game again about how they should win. I'm going to rank like my favorite big brother players. I think Frank Watch listen to this show. You know Frank. Yes yes I like Frankie Frankie Frankie Guerande no. I didn't see that season. I saw that season. Frank is a guy with the curly hair. Yeah I'm pretty sure that he listens to the Shah a misses the metal sand. But I'M GONNA go get him to talk about brothers what I'm saying. Jeff Jeff America's sweethearts who did he Marry the the blonde girl. Oh yeah they did amazing race Jordan. Yeah Jeff and Jordan. I didn't see their season. But it's amazing range. F- was a hybrid all-stars with like new contestants and like he was just like an ultra competitive. That's that's another one where they kinda skate when they bring in lake past who has got every need to learn from belly or whatever he had the worst strategy but it works they on the challenge. They started bringing over people from big brother. Oh I forgot to tell you that they started bringing over. People from Big Brother has evil. Dick competed in the challenge. Now all right but I love Lee. Had Paulie was from big brother Josh. I'm from Miami Evil Evil Dick. The first season was like I kind of his relationship with his daughter. He found himself as evil or like he gained the nickname being call themselves. Thick and number one is obviously doctor. Will Roy nickname in high school doctor will since she brought me up. I think I'll change my favorite show answer on. MTV to singled out wows singled out. That's where This was on that hardwick. Dick Irvin Electra. And there was one special episode of Singled out where Bruce Lee. Roy was the guy that all the girls where like competing for time was his name and I actually struck up a bizarre friendship with the actor. That played Bruce Leroy because I went when I was a child actor when he was based in Miami. Meanwhile a bunch of casting calls so there you go humble Brag my favorite show that's not. TRL Is probably real world great seasons. I haven't watched it. I think the last one that I watched was Chicago so I'm dating myself but I think my favorite cities and ever it's Seattle is really good. Even though very controversial I'll go with back to New York where MS in coral had their storyline all season. That was really good Hawaii with Ruth. He was really good. It's kind of crazy. How MS became like He? He manifested that he became the MS when it seemed like it was just kind of like a joke thing but I did kind of get goosebumps at the like if you remember that season back to New York the way that that it closed and watch it all right. Ms gives like this whole speech. He finally seems to get on. The same page is coral. Always thought bring quarrel like in the wwe because that's like his all time nemesis. It's really not John. See why they hate each other they just could never you've had these people oil auditor. Yeah Yeah but ms like does like this whole Promo so in an empty house you personally the house because you know they do like this one by one year. He was the last one and he gave this epic Promo Goosebumps. I'm like I never saw. There's a wwe superstar ever. Yeah then he gave that Promo. I'm like you know what maybe maybe that transition US perfectly weight so as him and Kogo finally got on the same page. Now you call the cocoa to. Isn't that her name coral whatever they finally got on the same page. I think they've done the challenge since I've been on the same teams but every once in a while they'll be oil and water but this is a really long.

"Okay quick we had a member of the nine plus. VIP Group posted. It was me the member of the nine pluses. VIP posted some MLB statistics for last decade. Okay decade in review stuff still and these are the rarest things to see in a single game the that that you know possible in baseball and we had a number of them happen. In the twenty tens we have three four homerun games. Five Perfect Games thirty nine hit for the cycle forty knows forty no hitters and one twenty T K game so member group GIORNO MATIC MR J man. He asked us for an educational opportunity. Wants to know what is the twenty K.. Game and what is the cycle so brad and I thought about it and we decided what we would do is explain these things kind of get into some of the history because I think context is going to help illustrate how remarkable these numbers really are. That's right I agree. So let's get into it Brad. Why don't you tell us about our twenty K.? Game Okay so a twenty K.. Game it's just just a twenty strikeout game for anybody who isn't familiar with scorekeeping or really I guess. Some of the Lingo of Baseball K.. Is a strikeout and that comes from the scorekeeping. Just like if you've ever seen somebody with a book or a note pad with all the little squares on it. They're they're they're keeping score. A lot of fans liked like to do it in the stands it keeps them engaged I used to do it as a kid when I would watch game just because it was fun I wanted to learn how to do it. and I was a Dork so I did it Yeah in actually came in handy because when I was injured on my high school team. That's what I did. I kept score in the Dugout when I was hurt. So it gave me something to do. so yeah K.. It just comes from the K.. And strike out because You can't do s for single so they just somebody back in like the early nineteen. Hundreds I think was a journalist put K.. In his notebook for strikeout and it stuck yeah yeah And to get a little bit deeper into that if you not a backwards K.. That's strikeout looking forward K.. Strike out swinging such where they do that in the book so twenty K.. Game was twenty strikeout game and this has only happened What five times? The history of Major League Baseball in the in the fifth time was on May Eleventh Twenty sixteen in a three three two to win after the nationals against the Detroit Tigers. And of course wouldn't you know it. It was master. Of course it was right of course it was. Who who else would you expect to have a twenty K.? Game in two thousand sixteen so maybe Justin verlander but yeah. He's about the only other one. Yeah but those are those the only two guys the workhorses the guys. WE'RE GONNA strike out a lot of guys who are going to accomplish that but some of the others we've had let's go way a way back way back to nineteen sixty two. Tom Chaney did it against the Baltimore Orioles. He was playing for playing for the the senators and beat the orioles in a two to one game. And this is the thing about these is. They're typically going to be close games right. Yeah of course because you're going to keep your starter in and And typically when when when you've got to strike up pitcher his offense doesn't produce much because everybody's kind of standing around. Yeah so by the time they get up to bat. Everybody's kind of asleep. Yep so that that's something you actually see a lot. It's not uncommon. Tom What I find really interesting about the statistics around the twenty K.. Game is they'll tell you the pitcher's name but they don't really care who he played for but then they're really really eager to tell you who they did it against which it's true actors or did it against the Detroit Tigers on this day. Yeah But they don't tell you necessarily who played for because it's not about that at that point which I think is really an interesting cultural thing about baseball we at that point. It's it's a one man show right. I mean you've got the Catcher so you've got your battery a two man show catch has got a call the game then. Of course me I'M GONNA give. The cat gives them care Credit the catcher on that you would so the just to put this into context the most previous like the last time this happened prior to this one in two thousand only sixteen was Randy Johnson and that was in two thousand one. So that's how long it has been since we've seen a twenty K.. Game that's right as a long time. Yeah and and Brig. There's only one guy who's done it twice. Yeah there is and I mean you kind of expect it it it's Roger Clements he did it. Once in Nineteen eighty-six against the mariners did a once in nineteen ninety six against the Tigers. Yep Boltons plan for the Red Sox Athlete that was really his heyday. You know striking guys out after that he just got mean. Yeah yeah he did but looking at this list there is one that I actually specifically remember. Yeah was nineteen ninety. Eight with Kerry wood against the Astros. Oh everybody remembers that. Yeah that was that that was something else I remember waking up. The next morning watched sports center new was all over. The place is everywhere. Yeah Yeah it was a big deal. Let's move onto hitting for just a minute really quick we have The the question Jordan posed was what is a cycle and the full term is hit for the cycle hyphenated needed. But that's you know Nazi. Here's the deal. A cycle a cycle means that a single player hit a a single a double a triple and a home run. All in a single game All in one game. That's what cycle is now. We saw thirty nine cycles in the twenty tens que Brad Guess. How many cycles? There have been recorded in the history of baseball. Oh man like a thousand. I don't know Well first of all I think is more rare the cycle or the no hitter. I want to say no hitter is more rare. That'd be correct. Yeah especially like I WANNA see the two thousand sixteen two thousand seventeen seasons there was like probably seven or eight guys cycle each season case like that. So if the no no is more rare at three hundred three ever then what do you think we've got. How many how many cycles of there have been recorded in the history of baseball Four ten three thirty thousand good. Guess Oh oh man three thirty now. It's interesting how that's reflected with forty no hitters in thirty nine cycles in the previous decades. We'll see if that trend the of opposite direction. But so if you take thirty nine thirty nine out of three thirty that's eight and a half percent of all cycles have been hit. This last decade read K.. which is again commensurate right? It makes sense The last guy to do it was Kevin busy. Oh September seventeen twenty nineteen. Yeah now rookie rookie a rookie. Now do you know what's remarkable about that. Tell me other than it was a cycle which is remarkable. Yeah it is and that's the thing is as common quote unquote common as it is It's it's still really cool and still a big deal when they do it because that's awesome. Yeah going four for four in a game is hard much less getting single double triple and home run. That's and then to do it as a rookie. And then let's take it one step further and make him the second ever. Father Son duo to record a cycle. Oh yeah that's right I remember that. Yes that Craig. BG Oh yet astros. Craig Biggio did it in two thousand two in his son did in twenty nineteen Zakho Echo or what. That's fantastic. That is super cool. Yeah Okay so only one guy has hit of further cycle in a postseason game ever. Oh Man I'm not gonNa make okay as I have no idea it was actually recent. It was twenty eighteen. Brock Holt did it for the Red Sox in twenty eight call. I do remember the Mention it yeah. And I didn't know doing Razi postseason that year. He did he really did. And you haven't heard of him since but that's none of my business business okay so anyway. That's that's a huge deal hitting for the cycle and then let's cover four home run game. I think that speaks for itself. Everybody knows the four home or hold on. Let's go back to cycle quick all right okay. So wards while we're while we're talking about cycles brig do you. Home run cycle is a whole. No I don't know what that is. So home run cycle is a solo home. Run A two run home run a three run home run and a Grand Slam in a single game. Get out now no. That's not even Vidale me. That's never happened has ever happened in professional baseball. No absolutely not the word. The Sky would have fallen K.. So his never happened happened to Major League Baseball. Is that true. It's never happened to majorly okay. That's true okay. Andrew mccutchen was the closest one to ever do it with a with a solo. Home run in the first a two run in the fourth and a three hundred six but he could not get the Grand Salami. Oh my gosh. Are you kidding me. He did that he got. He got the first three but he couldn't finish off with a grand slam that and he he didn't order to one two three. That's crazy. That's I didn't know okay. I didn't know this existed. Second of all. I didn't know anybody it ever gotten this close to it. That's crazy okay. I'm ready K. K.. But it has happened in Minor League baseball no way in nineteen ninety eight and the double a game by a guy named tyrone Horne ever heard of him know whole no me neither the day tyrone Horne and then take pack your bags and go home like that. That's pretty much what happened there. Wow the minor league system where nobody knows your name. Let's right YEP which is a great book by the Way Cape However so it. It's happened in professional baseball one time but but it did happen this last decade and it happened this last year in fact in College Softball College Softball College softball. Awesome so for the Arkansas razorbacks a sophomore named Danielle Gibson..

"Like what I know now but I remember like not fucking with George Bush and a lot of people didn't I remember like that was the thing to hate George Bush like rightfully so and like it's it's so wild to me that years down the road all of a sudden George his everyone to fucking grandpa like it and that's what scares them he that's going to be like. I'm already angry that that's going to be like trump's future anyway anti way so we always it seems like for our last few episodes we all. We always have to talk shit about at least one white woman who like just some wack shit. This week it was Allen and also something that we have been talking about all the time especially for like the last few episodes as well anti blackness in the Latin x community. So let's jump into that because man let me tell you after recorded or last episode. I want to say maybe like I'm GonNa see a few days after the war did two days All of this shit happened on twitter. A lot of antibiotics shit happened in. Like spam of like disbanded like two days that meet Ruben. Were like let's fucking record right now because we really need to address this Unfortunately I was. Outta town like shit came up. You know but we've been wanting to address a lot of these things and so that's what we're GonNa do now but you'll still let you know all of this has been building up for like the last the last two weeks and so we wanted to talk about the the anti blackness And then today to day like two hours ago tell them what happened to our government. Generically guests that the N. Word on her instagram live or instagram story of Two other than that. We've also been wanting to talk about you know anti blackness in the lower next community. Like obviously like it's always they're like we're always as non blacks were always fucking up but like in the last month. I feel like we just took like let heritage monster like kick it up a fucking level Because there's a Lotta Shit that that has been going on like I mean. We almost recorded like an emergency again episode because like two days after our last episode after we recorded our last episode You know of a Hash. I woke up to a Hashtag trending and it was like. How do Mexicans talk and it happened because Becky G and this K pop star They released a song called chicken noodle soup which like US heavily sampled You know the song by a black artist and in the Song Becky G and J hope like have these like put on these like hood accents quote unquote and you know black folks particularly black access. Where like what the fuck is is right. Because like this whole. Like accent. Caribbean accented Becky. G put on like it isn't new first of all. She's been having this accent since she made the crossover to Latin x music and she started doing reggae tone and but her tried to pretend that it that she didn't that it is in some like some act even though it is so twitter user Rude boy Luna called it out. It's like why do these Why does Becky G put on this Caribbean accent? Basically that's not how Mexicans talk and so BECA G fans and like a bunch of Jay Hope stands like started. Harassing person eventually. Got Them to spend it and we're like all Mexicans talk hard we supposed to talk and it's like first of all you're being up twos because you know that you know there is a Mexican accent specifically if you're from fucking Inglewood which is where Becky G is from which is only like ten minutes from where I spent my fucking life In South East. La and she people particularly Mexican Americans in in Inglewood like they don't have the Carribean accent bitchy put on in order to reach a wider latter next market. Like that's something that she consciously did or for her not to not sound so wack as she is like appropriating reggae tone which the black Caribbean sound and so people are acting up tools. And I'm like I know I grew up around people like Peggy everywhere that we sound like even like as we've discussed before particularly with Daniel Baringo. When he was here like even like other Latin accent necessities that are not Mexican even their accents assimilate to the Mexican one in Los Angeles because the Mexican American accent is so prevalent Los Angeles that in order to fit in other at other Latin accent necessities assimilate there there. There's sound their voices and so to pretend that like becky. Jeez like use of a black Caribbean accent isn't some sort of like linguistic imperialism is kind of fucking ridiculous it's it's being Willfully ignorant to her not only Appropriating Black Caribbean music right. Because you know reggae tone didn't fucking come from Mexico and didn't come to fuck in England But also to appropriate the way that you know. Black Caribbean folks talk and so this Hashtag was viral and everybody was bashing decades detractors and even we are me too posted can walkouts essay about like quote unquote essay about how like it's ridiculous to Colorado her accent and Blah Blah Blah and. It's like you know how Mexicans Talk. You know how we talk. We don't fuck and talk like Becky. G pretends to sing like that's not our fucking voice. Nowhere maybe unless you're like maybe go over like Mexican folks are continuously surrounded by Caribbean folks. And there's more of an exchange but we're BECKY FROM REBECCA JASON. Her fucking life. That is not the cultural exchange that happened here like you know in La. We have primarily Mexican Population than after that is Central American particularly Salvadorian. And it's like Oh fuck in a laundry list of other Latin exit before we even get to a Caribbean like an ethnicity. The has that accent. So thank you for breaking that shutdown because there were a lot of people who were trying to like you said they were just being so op tooth and I was actually. I didn't even know that. Like the history behind it. So thank you for breaking that down when I saw the tag I knew that it was in response to like that video and like I knew the situation that was happening but I I was like when I started tweeting about it. There's always those cake. Kapot cake pop K pop stands in my mentions that I was so confused because I was like why. Why are there so many of them and we mentioned like do they like Becky Jedi Mino- who becky Gee whiz I really didn't know a lot of the details and then like I put it all together like Oh cade so? They're like defending her because she made a song with like someone days. Then so it's not necessarily you know these stands out here on twitter racist this Plug anti-black book number one but they're also just so fucking messy and exhausting and a lot of them. I love these K- keep pop stands are Mexican. Apparently the whole deal is a hot ass but it. This is the thing like a day before that happens like literally a day before this tag happened. Actually let's rewind Lebanon. Let me add one thing before you move while at that like. It's also like you said like Ja. K Pop stands a lot of them are Mexican or latter necks and I think that this is a perfect opportunity for us to ask ourselves why. There's such a big fan base for K pop in Latin America and for tone and Latin America. He know when these are particularly for reggae tone. Its current iteration is one that completely erases. Its founders right. So black people erased from the music. They create it right and for with Cape. It's like you see all these East Asian folks like adopt like you know their idea of like you know black hip hop star Black Popstar into their own image unlike wondering if this is a way for like non black Latin Americans to like listen to hip hop to listen to reggae tone without actual black people being in the picture and so I think that's important folks need to maybe ask themselves if they've never engaged reggae tone prior to the Becky g's of the world and never engaged like I am being hip hop prior to you know K. POPs Iteration of it. I think that really asked us to to to figure out like what's kept us from those John Rest prior to them. Thank you for writing that Yeah because that threw me off to and then I made important so there was an article that came up and it was about three non Black Latinos in Arizona. I believe who shot at a black man for telling them that they shouldn't use the N. Word so these were three non Black Latinos you know they were like ranging. I would assume from like eighteen to twenty one so you know. They'RE PRETTY YOUNG. Not An excuse. But just giving you some background. They had approached black photographer at the park to take. The other is a black photographer. He was taking pictures and they approached him. And we're like you know. Can you take pictures of us? So this black man is taking photos of them and doing them a favor and they're over here saying the N. Word and maybe not. There was a video of it. I didn't watch it either. 'cause I don't like watching these videos but the video was was posted for people to see So I would. I assume that they were just saying the N. Were amongst themselves. I don't think they said it to him. They were just saying that to each other or saying casually and this black man said you know if you're not blocked Sadia mark which is a very simple thing to say and their response was. Let's shoot at this man for telling us not to say this word The Black Man did not die. Think fully not that. That makes it any less better. I mean obviously. I'm glad he's alive but that happened. And then the very next That brought conversation obviously of like. I don't know it's two thousand nineteen and I honestly am tired of people of non black people questioning why they can't say the the N. Word it fucking trips me the fuck out. It really does like it's such a simple thing I like. I don't understand like what's so complicated about not saying the N. Word of you're not black. I like and I know what it is. I know that it's like racist anti blackness and it's like people feeling entitled to Black Culture and feeling entitled to using this word and I think black people telling non black people that they shouldn't use it makes them want to use it even more because that's like their own anti-black racism that's like oh a black person's telling me not to do this. Well who are they you know? And it's like this power thing and it's on it's all of it is rooted anti blackness. Oh yes I understand. Why people see the N. Word but I'm also come look come on like I don't know like I don't know how many times like this has to be said and the whole thing about that article in particular like that situation that happened is like y'all are so invested in determined to stay this word that you're willing to go to prison for it that your will not just to go to prison for it. You're also willing to kill somebody over it so when people tell me it's just the N. Word or it's just a song or all of these fucking excuses and it's like it's rooted in a lot more than that. It's not just quote unquote a word. First of all. That word has a lot of violent history. It's night yours to use. Its you're saying. Oh It's a song. It's just a word that doesn't mean. I'm racist yes it does mocking Meena races because black people are telling you not to say it number one but also because you know what I mean. It's for those people that say those things like this is how how upset people are that. They can't use it. This is how invested they are insane. That word that they're willing to be fucking violent physically to defend their use of that word so that happened and then anyway I just want to give a little like the those two main things happened and then right after that that happened right after like we were having that conversation about the n word that. Hashtag thing happened the very day so people were defending the right to use the N. Word and in the very next day they harassed a black deny and got her suspended from twitter for calling out anti blackness and then they made a Hashtag in response to that trying to make themselves the victim in the whole situation in that. Hashtag which trending like. That's the thing that took me out like that. Hashtag was fucking trending on twitter. So y'all had that so much energy to do all that but you have no energy to like not say the N. Word to tell people not to say the word you know when that when that article came out of the shooting like we could have all made. Hashtag like about it like don't see the N. word of your black or you know what I mean having a conversation about it but no one did that. Everyone wanted to justify their their work. Their use of that word and instead wanted to put all their energy into creating this false narrative of us being a victim of quote unquote legs and a phobia and racism from blacks Latina. Like that whole thing like is my God. Yup people were like coming for this person Rude Boy Luna who? Who started the conversation about like Becky? G appropriating a black ribbon accent. They were attacking Baloney because apparently she use the word SPIC Which I didn't know that people still found offensive T H harm. Because I I other than like the occasional time where night like. I've said it as a joke right. Hit speak if you don't know it's kind of like an older slur for a lot. An EX folks in A. It's like a kind of drawing on the word Hispanic But you know the only time I've ever really heard a has been in like literally the west side story.

"I don't think that's ever happened before just kind of like all the next Gen stats. You know just all of it but yet you still deliver it so that if you're being ungraded at home you did check up all the boxes. Stuart Scott was a master at that he would say all his things that he wanted to say and put his vernacular but he'd also also just step the hell out of it so nobody could ever call them in and say. You didn't give us the hardcore sports 'cause he did. He did both so Stewart's up there and and very fun to work with as well I mean I look the guys I work with right now. Anderson I loved working in La withstanding ill but as a consumer whereas sitting and watching at home I guess it's hard to top down and keep things that they did for so many years and bobbly and Charley Steiner putting them all together because there's Bob. Lee's actually quite a funny guy great wit but on TV he was. I'm Bob Lee you know he he did his. I'm Bob leaving and he did it masterfully. You know he he he did real journalism. Well you you you imagine yourself serious guy. You imagine yourself when you were the politics. Being the Bob. Lee of serious is journalism on television indeed. My interest remain more than sports is just so happens. I make my living doing sport sort and I know I mean I would probably fail the PA quiz today because I still I still don't care but I don't eat or she by now could be. I don't know you don't have any regrets about that. Though right like you don't you don't wish it had turned out differently. It worked well all in a bunch of ways you know to be able to live the life we've led and and you know. I'm speaking of the rewards of it but who's to say that might not have happened open that I've had some great. Ken Burns level documentary that sold on net flicks like I think I really think I am capable of that. I think some people find. Let's get into discussion about something other than sports that you just that weird how it's like senior teacher at the grocery store you know and so out of context so how is it that he actually has an interest in something else. That has a lot more weight matters a great deal more than what might try to hit a home run or not if you got that Shit Kenny. I can't even imagine what Stuart Scott was getting. How much of that did you see and feel pre social media. We have certain bosses who wanted wanted done a certain way the best way to put it and I mean even in the Dan Keith article which I'm not sure if you said your did I did well. You didn't give me a chance to say whether I had read it or not but yes. I I read the article. Keith and Dan changed the form and in some ways gave you permission yeah I it wasn't like I was watching Dan Dan and Keith and like boy. I WANNA be like them. You know it was more. They were doing a thing that I think I could already do as well as that but it was just that it was hey. Let's have fun hour together. This is not you know Susan Church and this isn't anything that has to be dog matic. Why can't we just have a fun hour. MAKE PEOPLE WANNA come back and watch it. The next time I mean there was even like you go back to like George Michael Sports Machine. You know he didn't have the same delivery those guys but it was fun. Watch them and he has a big machine they highlight button and and this is back you know before you knew the results of things so it was pretty cool. Hickman Charles they were doing something like that. CNN so they weren't the only ones at that time but certainly they stood out. They just had a great chemistry even if they as they admit they didn't have that big chemistry otherwise they didn't like you know go fishing together or bowling or drinks or whatever they just kind of did their show took. Dan had the fastest exit in history he he was in his car like. I'm saying goodbye to the Florida. Standards just vanished like go to get one of those. You know it was pretty modern. It's time to be able to start your car. Remotely I think he had one of those mix gonna a remote if he might have had the the Brett farve privilege of parking inside the tunnel if you know what I'm saying but back to the question which I have not forgotten yes he got called in a similar similar way but I think part of that too was Stewart. Was You know dropping a hip hop version of it that maybe twelve white bosses didn't get quite in the same way as some of the rest of us and sometimes he would say either line from song or you know anything that conveyed to a certain audience those who got it all right but that's true with any joke or any delivery. That's a little bit inside so I think they were just made sure that he checked the boxes on the the stuff that had to be sad and then he got in his and he he do that thing which he people didn't know what what I do. He got away when he got away with but he was also very very good at the more conventional part so like you know when we interview baseball players sometimes on the talk back back we've butch breast and I have adopted a single. Ask them each if they believe in. UFO's because it's just so stupid and it just lightens the mood that would probably not being the textbook version of probably wanting to conduct post game baseball player interviews right doing things that disarm people kind of uncomfortable uncomfortable and they Kinda giggled. Oh they're working fun all right good. You know instead of tell me what you saw that three to pitch that you drove for a double you know that's Kinda boring. When then would you say at espn you were having the most fun I remember now but my best thing I did and probably the most fun thing doing? It was the Whiter World of sports. Some people don't even know that happened actually but I used to called Main Street. I think that'd be the second best or tie for Fort. Maybe and we had like Aubrey Plaza and Allison Becker Jon Glaser Ben Schwartz. All these people have done like really good. Hollywood things John glazes done some pretty cool stuff uh John's lasers loves gear show for Aficionados and we got to like a situation comedy basically we had writers made these four minute little silly funny things about my life at ESPN and that show for whatever reason they decided they weren't GonNa carry on with it so I went into John Skipper who was the boss time and said Hey. I got a replacement idea because here you're killing our current idea. I said what if we did sort of a remake of the old wide world of sports and we'll just call wider world sort of sports like we modified it somehow we add an are and we got to travel around the world for two years. I went to Switzerland Nicaraguan Brazil New Zealand Ireland South Africa and we just found these crazy sports nobody ever heard of or sometimes they had heard of but didn't know what take it was. That was my original pitches. The show would be called. What is blank. You know what is cricket. What is Love Kashi. What is what is but they like the the other version better so that was insane that we had the greatest time. It's just a small little group up four of US camera audio the Audio Guy also shot camera my producer me and we did the patio and Italy either crazy horse racing around the town square and we took a helicopter at the top of announcing in South Africa Irish road bowling another one of my favorites so just for the totality of the experience. I'd say that was talks but I still love doing live stuff because there's there's no replacing immediately in the danger of being a lot. How close were you to being the host of deal or no deal. I've seen that imprint and if it happened I don't remember it okay. There's maybe I got a phone call. Maybe I didn't I had phone call top gear that was one and that would have been fun who knows top might have been a great franchise for me but the offer was too risky to give what I had going to. Hey I'm GONNA quit. ESPN and in his car show on whatever channel that was. It didn't seem like it was the right move. I was runner up to the spin off of who who wants to be a millionaire Merapi now. Oh Wow I would have been you would have replaced Regis Philbin. You're very close. I was told I was they. They picked her instead of me. Allegedly what the producers I mean they might have told me and I started. Maybe I was really ninth-place but I'll take second place. I was in trainwreck until they cut me but I am on the DVD extras that was pretty fun got to work with appetite in New York. They called like on a Monday. Can you be here. Wednesday and I just gone through a divorce. I said I can do it if you'll fly my daughter with me because I have daughters that we and they said yes and so we shot this crazy and funny scenes and just like they really felt good in the room here like everybody liked what we did. They were like do it again and try this and then they gave me the sad phone call of it was really really funny but it just didn't work you got you. Don't strike me as a dancing with the stars guy but I guess if you just shrug your shoulders and say hey well. It's just sports awards you just saying in that instance well as just dancing how bad it could it be and it was bad kenny. Yeah I do the money That's pretty much it well. I got called by their way through for whatever about this out at a restaurant. I remember when it happened and I was like what is it. I I thought it was a joke like why the hell would they pick me up barely known you know so that audience might GonNa Dance with US star dog advance with Jessica Lang or something what's going on here and they said no no. I think it was that the producer at the time knew of me probably do something. ESPN or ABC related and yeah. I'm not typically a reality show ooh person so. I what I did to make that be okay with me. I called it a contest. It wasn't a reality show. It was more of a contest than I was able to live with myself but subsequent to that Jerry Rice and is then appeared on that show like ten more times. We did these little skits that we pretended like we're breaking down you know like the NFL countdown type show but about the dancing stars you know the the last four or whatever we do these goofy little sportscenter is about them but yeah in general Oh. I'm yeah well. It's the Kardashians are on. I try to go to another room and my wife likes watching the crash. The kids like you know nothing nothing against the credential. It's I don't mean it that way. Just I don't like that show but I wasn't that type shows truly was as I say how close were you to to being a professional football player and was the injury a horrific injury and I wanna talk about some of the stuff that you're doing now for veterans as well and some of the charitable work that you WanNa get to but how close were you to being a professional quarterback and how broken were your dreams when your ankles snap. It's a lot of stuff in there packed in could get emotional I was not going to be Montana probably but you can only measure yourself against you. You know your peers right in any situation and through better than the rookies so like I was that good whatever that means were they even. GonNa key you mean it could be. They just needed more arms for training camp the story behind it as the kid who played ahead of me. I was the only second-string UNLV this kid named.

The dual later expanded to a four piece when they add a Qatari Solan Bixler and basis watched her or water. To the lineup, just Nova tars Kevin Drake who first addition for the position that bassist also joined the band toy musician. The band played his first concert on the different under different names before finally settling on the name thirty seconds to Mars, which was taken from a rare manuscript tattle ARGUS. Apocrypha cts gently described the name as a reference, a rough translation from the book. I think the idea is interesting. It's a metaphor for the future. He explained thirty seconds to Mars. The fact that was so close to something that's not a tangible idea also Mars being the God of war, which it is makes it really interesting as well. You could substitute that in there, but what's important for my brother and is that it'd be imaginative and really represent the sound of music and as unique away as possible. He described it as a name that works on several different levels. A phrase that has lyrical suggestive cinematic and filled with immediacy when thirty seconds to Mars. I started Gerald, did not allow his vocation as a Hollywood actor to be used and most of the band, yes, folks gently though as a Hollywood actor, he's an Academy Award winning actor from Dallas buyers club. I believe he also played the joker and suicide squad. He's been around for a while and he's in the newest player NFL player in twenty forty nine. It's called. He's in that as well by nineteen ninety eight. The group of form gigs at small American venues and clubs upon a mistake. You album had been in the works for couple of years with lethal writing. The jury of the songs during this period, the band record a demo tracks such as Hala revolution or Jupiter and hero, which later appeared on the band's debut album is fallen and years zero respectively. But also Buddha for Mary. Their work led to a number of record labels be. Interested in signing their seconds to Mars, which eventually signed to mortal records in ninety nine nine virgin records into the contract ego. So that's a brief background on them. So yes, to new alums caught America and it's got different cover art. It's different colors. The one that I tagged for this took for this review. 'cause y'all covers thirty seconds to Mars vertically to the left, like with the cross on top of it looks like and might be across where sort..
