A review of the book, Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro

"Jones joins us now from brooklyn. New york is the editor in chief of vanity fair magazine and this week she reviews the new novel by couso shapiro. Clara and the sun ra. Thanks for being here. Hi thanks for having me so for those who are not aware. Rodica is still one of us. We think you're at the new york times. She was formerly the editorial director of the books. Dusk before working at vanity fair. Where you've been now for more than three years right yet just a little over three years. What is it like doing that. Job in quarantine. We're so used to it now. I know so year. Old question is feels unless normal which i never thought i'd say but i will tell you this week. We released our hollywood issue which is traditionally an enormous photo production to create a three panel. Gate fold cover and it's a big group portrait so obviously in the age of group. Portrait's are rather challenging and unsafe and so we decided we needed an artist. Who would be up for the challenge. So we enlisted. Maurizio cuddle alon and pierpaolo ferrari. The italian conceptual artists to do a remote shoot with ten people. They ended up photographing people remotely over ten days on four continents all through laptops and you know very small local sets and it was really an amazing feat and so with every issue with every day covering the news. We are finding our way. I have to say. I don't know how it's been for you. But you know there's something about having new boundaries and new challenges that that pushes you to be creative and innovative. And i feel like that's what my team has been able to do. So it has felt very much like a journey. But i've been really really pleased with how creative we've been able to be and still sort of fulfilling that core purpose of entity fair to cover a range of entertainment reporting investigative reporting political reporting and iconic photography. And all of the stuff that we do best all right. I'm asking a superficial question. And i'll followed by deep one. It has to be slightly less glamorous. And i'm assuming that there's no vanity fair oscars party this year. I want you to know that for this podcast. I'm wearing my fancy sweatpants there in the rotation. it's our tradition to celebrate the oscars and and we are finding ways will find a way to do that this year. That is safe and respectful. It's an interesting year for the academy as well because even though movie theaters have been closed for most of the time and it's obviously been really challenging to get films out there. There has also been an explosion of actually really fantastic cinema and again presented in sort of innovative ways. And i know the academy wants to really celebrate that talent and so we are going to figure out ways to do that on our part as well all right. I promised i'd follow it up with a deep question. I don't know if it's steep but it's a literary question those of us here. At the time. I think all leaders of vanity fair and know that you are at heart very much A literary percent of book person. What has your year of reading been like in quarantine. I know you're usually at least part of at least one book club. Have you been having trouble concentrating on books. Have you found books to be refuge. What's it been like for you. I am ashamed to say that my reading at least for my comfort level has fallen off a cliff. So which is why. I was so delighted to get this assignment to review issue. Gross new novel because he is one of my favorite favorite living writers. And i am a complete us. I have read all of his works and will continue to read and reread them. As long as i live so that was wonderfully focusing and it was an opportunity to sit not only with the new novel but with so much of his former work and really think about it. But it's been tough. I don't know i mean i. I feel like for a lot of readers out there. It's been tough to focus. And i think that the thing that made a difference for me. Oddly enough was that. Because i was no longer commuting to work. I lost that staple commuting time which i realized. In retrospect is when i did a lot of my reading but it's that i do lead a book club of incredibly wonderful astute readers all women who work or have worked on wall street and so with them. At least i've been keeping up a minimum a reading activity. We just met last week. Actually and discussed martin mrs novel london. And we have a of great books lined up for our next meeting.

UCL Trouble for Chelsea?

"Welcome insulation of spnfz down. Thomas during the today by allie. Moreno gotten off coffee. You'll be hitter flags on a big win for you today but we start in the champions leaks good matches. Isn't it coming up over the next couple of days. We'll stop at looking trump. Let's go madrid against chelsea some other. The chelsea as favourite not six to four on to advanced next trying athletics. Eleven to ten men rapids. He absolutely flying in la league the first half of the season they have somewhat just a little bit foreign off. Course levante being very much thorn in that side. You're against on wednesday lost on saturday. Let's welcome shall we. Don't just sit low. Lo look ahead to this game. Say let's start off with a athletic perspective xiaowei. What's going wrong with them. They all right. I think we'll go move the wrong with them. In part was that this was likely to happen at some stage. Although perhaps not in quite this way bear mind. They've now dropped many points in twelve days as they had in the inside season up until that point but is in for full-on collapse in all four games. It's one victory to drills the fate as a site. that'd be on such good full. It was fifty four fifty seven points at fifty fifty seven points in the first half the season that it feels like a glass. I think in a way if you look at the results before this games way they were always on edge there again where they were just about coming through very light winner. You've are weiner out of s for example that going behind much more often than previously remember they concedes remedies minute behind in the entire season. That's not happen more often. They're conceding early goals. They gonna seven games in a row conceding so it was the probably some point tip slightly now not into a full blown crisis but certainly into a situation where they were necessarily gonna mean sign that level incredible efficiency in winning games that they had up until fruitful weeks ago and coming up against a chelsea side. Don still unbeaten under to call but very very ordinary against hanson. Yeah just methodical. The hard sites watch chelsea they get. The job done. Didn't against that in the drawer but they were hard. Watch nothing. thomas tickle early on. I think he's testing these players. Think he's testing. Mentality is testing the players and different systems. Put the weekend. He lasted fifteen minutes and took stripe off again so he didn't work took off the ball put about so it's a chelsea sought while you won't you come on west off whereas the where's the attack and fled just very very methodical. Caffeine phoenix can tighten me. I can't imagine be free flowing ends and talking football full three job so don just call chelsea methodical and if you think of you don't feel like hey look at them they're open. They're attacking they're going to commit number full and so therefore if you have an athletic team that has been struggling to get results and you have a team. That is quote unquote methodical. Then yes you're exactly correct. This is not four three. this is set pieces. This is very tied very tactical certainly in the first leg in which is going gonna make it physical from. They have to get back to that. They've lost a little bit of that and they've lost a little bit of attention to details in the game against the weekend. Golda was not scored by motorists early on. There's the ball over the top from set piece attack and said piece of mind on a mis-clearance goes over fifty yards and morales one one situation against like that doesn't happen against atlantic city. But it's been happening more and more often over the last ten days or so they have to clean up those details and clean those details where you're going to find something that is going to be very very difficult to beat

Can Liverpool Snap Their Slump?

"Liverpool coming off a result midweek in the champions league thought when we focus on their league form not so great. They've lost three straight for merely outscored eight to two in those matches. Stevie the league form not good but can we throw it out the window based on what you saw. Mid week. Leipzig to be honest. I'm gonna base on scene from evan. Rather than what. I've seen from liverpool. I think we know liverpool. Golden played good football. Hopefully they're going to create. The question is what we take chances. And kinda and that's been their mantra. I think this is over. Evan up until i go a bed the smaller and looked and looked to see what had been said for months. You'll autobahn and use a kind of changed my opinion because i was very comfortable when i went to bed. Before the fact that culvert loons black. You've got allenbach. You got hamas who. I think we'll play as well. So they've kind of a as well as liverpool getting a little bit of a kick from winning against light shake evans going to get a little spot as well for most three at the same time. I don't think is going to be an awful thing. Liverpool will take it a business. You mentioned what carlo ancelotti said. You're in club downplayed this earlier but the reverse fixture of this is where virgil van. Dyke got hurt. We'll liverpool's players be thinking about that. Is that at all a factor in this absolutely not liverpool of other things to worry about right now with those vendettas. And when you stop doing that that affects your game when you start worrying about getting a kick it somebody or gone around and tried to get one on the that's going to affect you as you said liverpool too many other problems where they can. They can do things so i i don't think will have any whatsoever correct. Speaking those other liverpool problems basically been a coin flip over the last couple of months which liverpool we get and it's not really between good and bad. it's between feast and famine and look. There's a clear fight for the top four here between a few teams what one of which up until a couple of games ago look it might be able to make still be but clearly live for sure. I'm not going to catch. Set has been questioned whether anybody will catch them but settling from where pearl are so. There's a clear fight for the top. Four and i think they'll be buoyed by their performance and mid week but i'm with stevia. Initially islanders probably going combat but he's lacking much shoppers. Rodriguez is a talent. But he's not particularly away from home. A place like lever put and going to get the ball here because everton do that home in a way. They often the lawyers for as what liver poke can do with an ev. You know the such a hard team to read it. Belet lasted in a sense. Have lost some crazy games as she are still up there. Everyone had i think the three games in hand up until a week or ten days ago and then they lost home to fill them the loss home to set these kind of expected. The hong end then brushed aside. But i could see lever. Pull getting a result here purely going to dominate the game. And i think eventually it will break down. Of course they're gonna watch learn these pace and behind running the johnson. That's a weak point for liverpool at the moment. But i just feel with us. Top four limited as real. Fight that lever pill get the job done here and could run together to get themselves in their shock. Everton haven't beaten liverpool since two thousand ten have one at anfield since one thousand nine hundred ninety nine. This feels like as good a chance chances. They're going to get ride. No all records falling as far as liverpool is concerned in particular over recent weeks. That format downfield. Now i'm different from the voice. I'm sitting around the fence but leaning everton. I just feel as good. A result was against rb leipzig. Maybe a little bit expected especially given i felt. I thought i'd be like coming into this. A little bit light up front and maybe not threatening liverpool anywhere near as much as you would thought but with covid louis coming back. In particular that make centre-half paramount liverpool will be relying on on henderson. I just feel about their goals for forever time here and as a see i'm sitting on the inside but leading everton i just don't see a liverpool win.

What Exactly Is an Epiphytic Plant?

"I thought we should talk about epo. Fights elon because we have frequently referred to a plant. Oh this is an epic fight or this plant is epic right. Yeah i think we need to go back and tell really talk about what that is and what some of the common plants. Many of us grow plants that are epa fights routinely right. Yeah i would say that. My probably my favourite house plants are ninety percent of them are epa fights because they are by nature so very easy to grow indoors so undemanding many of them so beautiful and in keeping with our greek theme from the last segment. I will say that. In greek at the fight means upon plant. So it's a plant that in nature grows on another plant not not a parasite. It takes no nutrition from the plant. It just uses it as a place to grow. It makes another plant. It's home so that's the bottom line here now. Why then would a- plant that makes another plant it's home. Why would that make a good house plant. Well think about it if it's growing on another plant the first thing you know is that's an under canopy plant. Because it's growing on a tree or shrub in their leafs of leaves above it so that means you'll need a south facing window or bright west facing window. That house plant is going to be satisfied with less sunlight than full sun and most of us in our houses do not have a lot of full sun and the second thing is if that plant grows on another plant its roots are exposed to the air and that means that by nature. Epa fights are generally very drought tolerant. And that means it's easier for you to care for because you're not going to have to worry about it watering it. Every three days it's going to be a seven to ten day watering plant because its roots need to dry out a little bit in between watering so those are the first two things i think of. They're not that fussy about because they don't grow in this right many episodes you can plant in a light soil. This mix some some of them do better in a little bit of bark. Mix some of them. You can actually mount to a piece of bark and hang it. So there's a lot of options for different fights in how you want to grow them another thing that you can sort of. Assume about a epa fights is that they don't need repotting all that often because they don't need fresh soil because they're used to growing in small crevices however you do need to be careful because if you have an ethic plant like say christmas cactus or thanksgiving cactus right. Those are epa fights and they've been in the same pot for a long time and that potting media that you used was high inorganic matter barak and pete and everything and it starts to break down over time which means that there is less oxygen in the mix that can be a problem for an epiphanic

Lessons We Learned From Launching And Growing Our Membership Site

"If you're thinking about launching a membership site or you're going to launch memberships. I in in the next few months don't like spent months building. The whole thing is trying to get it just right instead. Just put the bad bones together in fact you could get away with just having a sales page somebody that takes into a thank you patient. It's great we're going to send you the fuss content next couple of days literally have it not bad boon's and then just test the concept use email to saw driving people to that so many people like delay getting the proof of concept finding out whether people will actually pay for this thing and making sales because that busy still building the membership. I'm still building. We've got loads of friends. Who are in that phase arm still building. It and i'm like come on mate sell it to somebody. Let's find out the actually wanted the likely where you're selling it. Let's find out and just be honest by the way. Don't be dishonest. Don't be like. Hey this is the best super duper membership ever be like. Hey we're launching this. They've this website this new this new membership. It's going to be launching on day. Which is in like two weeks time but if you get in before that poverty email promotion angle. Is you getting a discount. You're getting in i. You're part of the founding membership so get in now so that's a really good lesson. Give yourself a week to get as much as you can gather be honest and the marketing be honest in advertising and get it launch. Then once you've got some cash in and you know people are going to like it you get in touch with those people and help them help them to help you shop the content so yes it does not have to be finished three days to launch as the first one the second lesson we learned was really about when a new member joins your membership. You can use email to give them a really good slightly custom not not massively customized but a customized experience so that you sign post each individual person to the content within your membership is going to help them the most depending on the needs in that situation so the big challenge a membership is for example as soon as you log into the leak. All league members will be completely agree with us. There is a lot of stuff in that. There are like twelve or thirteen complete email campaigns in there and they are beasts that allows us to read through that. Then there's like a whole bunch of training videos and then there's all the qna sessions and then all of the the the the the guest trainings. There's a lot of content so expecting to somebody come in and figuring out where everything is and what's relevant to them right now is too much of an ask so what we do instead. Is we ask people on entry wherever you are what you focus right now and then we put them through an email campaign an automatic email campaign which up once and it's been running for months now which guides them through every few days. Hey rob since your focus is on building. Email list right now. Have you checked out this particular trainer. All hey sarah you your you said that your membership. Here's an email campaign. That's that's really good for selling membership sites and we use it to sell ours. So just drip-feeding that automation signpost and people to different content by just having three four five maybe six tops different automations to help people depending on what the needs. All right now. Means they get results foster. They stick around for longer and they're much happier members. Yeah and you know what it doesn't have to be massively. Complicated can be quite straightforward. You just need to be able to figure out which path by going to go down. Put down that. And don't over sally because a lot of the time actually know people in that. They don't need a million emails to tell them what to do. One of the lessons that we have learned along the ways actually our our on boarding secrets. Initiative was a bit too heavy. We went a bit too hard. Said whoa. I just need a little bit more time between those emails soccer energy. Go and do that thing on my schedule just because you sent some email today saying look at this thing they might flag on so i'll have check that out tomorrow and then tomorrow remailing about something else so just realized that actually sometimes more as long as it's there and it's pushing them in the right direction. Yup you put the problem. You've got there if you end with three days of still that you haven't checked out yet you might think i haven't got time to consume all this stuff and the membership. Which is something. We've heard a lot because there's a lot of stuff in the league so space on those out. What's spacing out right. Now ron to give some people give everyone a little. Bit of more of an idea have we. I think don't down to every third day. I think is what we've done when they got an email pretty much move into the next segment of the campaign at some point when we have to re signed we'll actually teach our on boarding process inside of the league binding. Yeah we wanted to a bit more data because we only teach that we know absolutely smashes it okay. So that's the first two. Also third lesson this of launching the league rob so one of the things i think a lot of people are guilty of we definitely were back in the day is using email as china can new once. Sunday's joined so once. Somebody's a member on that. Paying you every month you use email to notify them about the stuff that's coming up so maybe you've got a live training or a guest workshop or something else and you email and say hey. Don't forget the things on friday. Here's the details and his link see of that and it's very much. Education bats the equivalent of facebook emailing to tell you that somebody's just tag coast poked. I'll email you say. Oh johnny's just poked you. Thanks let it looks a law. Thank you johnny. And so instead what we wanna do is one realize that every mocked every communication that you have we members after they joined is a marketing communication. It's a sales communication and so that means the treated like one through the woods if you think about our approach to solve daily email which. I'm sure you're talking about. One of our frameworks is to take a story and a lesson on an offer. Will you can do that. When you're telling your members about this goofing that's upcoming because it makes your emails stickier. It makes them more interesting than just. There's a thing on friday. If you've got a new thing every day we'll people are gonna get used to the fact that something every friday. They're not really gonna pay that much attention to those emails whereas if the emails offline an interesting in educational and attending in that room right then. That's going to help you along way. So when we send the emails to all members about stuff that's coming up. We don't just say there's a thing on this day about new trainings now inside the membury instead. We'll tell them a story will pull something out of the training. We'll talk about how we met the person doing the trading. If it suggest we'll talk about one of the questions. We answered on the training last night so every time we do it you can pull out something that could be story lesson offer. It could be any other frameworks from the daily email strategy. Basically how about stuff. You're gonna share it on again. Make your emails more interesting effectively. Imagine that you are using those emails to sell it to people who aren't already membership in a second but imagine marketing to your members. Imagine your members to pay to come in at ten bucks. Email should be not good that they would want to go and do it so tree every email communication to you're paying them this like it's trying to resell them which it is remember really is is trying to resell them. Bring us nice and smoothly onto episode episode onto number four point number four which is about every single week or every single month you are almost certainly creating and releasing new content to your members and the great news. Is that is giving you brand new angles. Brand-new stopped talk about to your email list of non-members. So let's say we've just dropped a new training. Which has about how to make sure that you'll grow your list with maximum profitability at one of our of our of our battle plans inside of inside the league so they'll be emails around how it's important to on november saying it's really important to me. She don't run out of money when you grow your email list. Good news is that's one of the things that's dropped inside of our membership. The league come and join the league so you sell. You'll membership based on the content of the membership individual pieces of content. And that means people can go. I'm really interested in that thing because you people are looking for a reason joyal membership and it might just happen to be something you release this week this month or this quarter is the very thing that holds them over that thing so whatever your content is that you're releasing makes you use that as the basis to sell non-members into your membership very cool and again it. Just it just gives you a this unstoppable run of content because you can pull several. Emails are of each and every one the fifth lesson that we learned is that we need to have a series of different promotional campaigns to sell the membership from different angles. So obviously we do day to day my marketing what we call us noble emails. That's like a podcast episode in itself but like just you know ate today emails but also we run these campaigns which have a beginning middle and end like over the course of three days or four days or seven days or ten days. We'll send people to bits of content. Which then linked to a sales offer which then have a bonus or something something cool to hook people in and we know that different people different things appeal to different people and therefore we wanna give people a vast array of different reasons to pay attention to us so sometimes we have campaign which is all email lead and it's just designed to help people what the league is but then they will buy from that will the next campaign might send them to a free video where they go. Watch the free video. That's some education in and if they go march that free video than we put them down a different route so we want to make sure that we're on the you know. Sometimes we might do a free challenge. People enrolled in this five day free challenge. We share a bunch of stuff at the end. We can sell the so. We want to make sure we got a whole bunch of different ways to wrap up the league so that people can see it differently they can understand it differently and it allows them everybody at some point to have seen heard the binny's to see or hear in order to make the decision that that going to actually

Apple reportedly switched 2M units of production from iPhone 12 mini to Pro

"Apple reportedly switched to million units of production from iphone. Twelve mini to parole We've been talking about this. We kind of already knew it. The fact that maybe out the gate the mini model. Not so hot not as hot as maybe originally imagined or maybe we just have too many iphones to choose from in twenty twenty twenty twenty but it certainly is starting to look very clear that the models people want more of our either the regular iphone twelve or one of the pro models and in this case. They've gone ahead and as far as the report is concerned. They have decided to change over some of the production line to help out with pro supply and move away from the mini supply. That apparently nobody wants far fewer people want than potentially was originally imagined. Does this mean it's a bad phone. Does this mean it will never turn itself around no not necessarily. It's still cheapest of the bunch if you don't include older models or the iphone. Se maybe over. Time through a variety of incentives. Maybe they find some some places to put those devices but another another consideration here is the different markets in which apple moves these phones. You may be sitting there in your own specific market thinking. This is the whole world like you will. You might wake up on a canadian morning and just say to yourself. Well this is how most people live and no they don't will all right get it together. I'm usually wrong. Yeah yeah exactly. Yeah as we were talking about prior to the episode running here. Yes and so different. Markets have have different needs in different wants and even if there was a push for a nostalgic smaller one handed smartphone in one market. That doesn't necessarily mean it's the case elsewhere. For example in china they think that the lower end models of iphone. Twelve are performing better than in the us. They estimate that shipments grew forty seven percent year over year in the december quarter reaching a new eighteen month. High of twenty percent market share driven in large part by adoption of the iphone twelve which it captured the most iphone installed base share of any iphone launched in china over the past four years. So you see in china. They want the stock iphone twelve. Oh i'm sure they want some of the pros to but you would've thought hey if they're interested in the lower end iphone twelve. Maybe they might go for the mini but apparently not as much as originally mentioned we continue to believe. The iphone will outperform expectations in the december quarter as the mix shift to hire an iphone. Twelve models is a tailwind revenue growth iphone. Twelve pro league times remain extended far beyond any model. La- launched in the past four years at ten days so when when pro originally launch actually a little hard to get your hands on one in certain markets and the the mini thing. I don't know will they can it. That's really what the question comes down to. The u continuing the mini. Can you support it at a lowered at a lower demand. Does it start to make a comeback at some point or do you digit completely with the next model and just say to yourself. People are gravitating towards the other ones is not worth our our hassle or are headache. I personally like as many options as possible. But i can also understand if it doesn't fit into your efficiency plans and the expense of keeping those other lines on a phone that you know isn't i mean it's not even just the production lines it's also the designers and everything else involved in keeping an extra model but we've talked about this in the past. We just have more evidence here to suggest that the mini was not exactly the hit. That at least apple expected in the short term

QAnon after Trump: The Storm that never came

"Justin ling is an author and a reporter who has been following the twists and turns of the cunanan movement for most of this year. Hello jesmyn hey thanks for having me of course. Why don't you start before we get into what's happened since joe biden was sworn in What we're various cue in on believers expecting to happen on january. I think the vast majority of people who follow the conspiracy never thought joe biden would ever be inaugurated. They said that repeatedly a whole part of the queue. Mythos has been that something amazing will happen and that donald trump will be at the last minute. Of course cunanan has been sort of the vanguard of the conspiracy that donald trump never actually lost the election. That was old rigged the they were the ones. We're doing a lot of that. Frontline research but research in scare quotes there that underpinned the trump campaign's effort to overturn the election. You can draw a straight line. From a lot of the conspiracies that popped up on q. Forms like eight chan and gab. A right into at the trump campaign's legal filings around the election. Right the conspiracies around dominion voting systems basically gaining sentence and changing trump votes to biden. You know that started on a lot of these forms and wound up in those legal filings from sydney powell from lynnwood from the trump campaign that were an attempt to overturn the results and then also founded the belief of some republican senators congressmen. Who tried to deny. Joe biden certification victory so they consistently thought that those efforts would work when they didn't they deluded themselves with a sort of magical realism thinking that something would happen today. That on this stage will as joe biden's hand hits the bible that there'd be mass arrests that the national guard was really. They're not to protect the inauguration but to set the stage to have joe biden and his compatriots arrested. there was a pervasive belief. That a military tribunal would be set up in dc and that all of these folks from barack obama to bush hillary clinton joe biden kamala harris. Everybody would be arrested and tried for treason. I mean this is literally what many of them believed. I'm not exaggerating. This was the bedrock of the faith. The cunanan had that would turn out in their favor. Any word we're talking. You know to thirty on wednesday afternoon. There were still a whole bunch of folks who think that in the next ten days. It'll all the inauguration will turn out to be a ruse There is a tremendous amount of faith from these folks. Things will turn around in their favor. Any given moment that. If it's not now than pretty soon. And i think it's been horror on many of these folks to watch predictions consistently failed to come true will. Yeah you've been keeping an eye on these forums for for a long time off and on but you've also been Pretty glued to them over the past twenty four hours or so and as you mentioned. We're talking on wednesday afternoon. How of they've been handling it as you know. I trump depart. Says he wasn't supposed to then. Nothing happens at the inauguration. Then nothing happens when they inspect the troops and you know presumably knock on wood No mass arrests take place at the inaugural or whatever but like how. How do they deal with that consistent disappointment so i think there's there's kind of a handful of different camps right is a camp of coup non believers or maybe former cunanan believers who are accepting that things haven't gone their way who are posting right now on a lot of these forms saying you know what that's it i can't do it anymore. My face has been shattered. This was all a ruse. We it was sort of a triple fake out. None of the prediction come true Either q. is never real or they're overplaying their hand or whatever. Basically these folks have accepted that none of this is real I don't know that those people are going to turn around and embrace liberalism tomorrow but at the very least they seem to be disenchanted and done with this sort of far right conspiracy. Making there are other people who have kind of come to the same conclusion but to a different from a different angle. You know there were there. Were people who used to believe this or maybe who will always kind of in the same Area of belief but never quite trust the cunanan thing who are saying. Well we've been played. You know this was all just a gambit for people who make money you'll get power whatever but we have the double down on the same mission does not under the ambit of of cunanan. These are people who are probably very. Who are i know anti semitic who are you know. In some cases homophobic racist who are deeply reactionary and conservative on these are people who just fundamentally can't square a biden administration but who we're going to find a new channel for a lot of those grievances and there are going to be a bunch of people who who stick with who convinced themselves that this is all part of the plan. I've seen a theory emerged in the last day. That says the joe biden is in on it that actually joe biden donald trump working together. And this is. This is people trying to rationalize how these predictions keep failing right. You always have to find a new path to explain everything all there's always numerology that goes into it. There's always some sort of of myth making that you have to do to to sort of comport. What's happening with what you

Biden Planning Ten Day Blitz Of Executive Actions

"In washington it is also a very very big week. President-elect biden scheduled to be sworn in as president at noontime tomorrow chief-of-staff ron claim saying the biden is planning a ten day blitz of executive actions. And for that. I'm gonna go over to joe. Who i think's going to go to washington. Yes to lon moy is going to. I don't know if she's got every executive action she's ready to go into but she's going to have the latest on the inauguration and everything surrounding The inauguration the biden teen plan for a ten day blitz. So we got that going for us. I i whatever. I'm ready for it long. That's what presidents do but i've got a little trepidation with some of it but elections have consequences. It's coming keystone. That's going away at not taking. I think that over the next over the next few days we're going to see is just a real sort of divide and juxtaposition between some of the pomp and circumstance and then some of the policy so obviously the inaugural ceremony is gonna be dramatically scaled back today. We're going to see biden and leave delaware. Make his way down to dc the not by amtrak. Because of the heightened security measures. Tonight he will be at the lincoln memorial for ceremony honoring those who have lost their lives. Tacoma nineteen but in the midst of this pandemic. there's a real desire in the administration to be seen is hitting the ground running and it's one of the reasons why we're going to see five of biden's talk nominees. Have their senate confirmation hearings today. That includes janet yellen for treasury secretary along with his director of national intelligence homeland. Security secretary of state and defense secretary. I got an early copy of yellen opening statement and she does plan to make a forceful for that one point nine billion dollar covert rescue package. That was outlined last week. She says without further action we risk a longer and more painful recession now and long term scarring of the economy later. She also says that with great at historic lows. The smartest thing we can do now is to act big now. As for that flurry of executive orders abiding planning within his first few days many of them will reverse the decisions made by president trump. The latest example came just last night on restricting travel from europe and from brazil the trump administration had said plan to lift those restrictions on january. Twenty six though visitors would still have to provide a negative cova test biden spokesperson immediately. Push back on that saying that the new administration would not lift the ban and instead she tweeted with the pandemic worsening the more contagious variants emerging around the world. This is not the time to be lifting restrictions on international travel by is also planning other executive action on immigration the keystone pipeline. The paris climate accord the world health organization. So the goal of the biden administration is to show here that they're the ones who were serious about

Biden’s first 100 days: What to expect on Covid-19, the economy and immigration

"Over the weekend ron claimed biden's incoming chief of staff south this memo that went into some detail. About what these first steps are actually going to be in practice. So in that memo the first ten days of biden's term he intends to extend the pause on student. Loan payments has been in place during the pandemic good extend moratorium on evictions as well rejoin the paris climate agreement. That's one of the first steps on climate change and rescind trump's travel ban on a group of predominantly muslim countries. Then there's also something clean is calling quote hundred masking challenge which i guess if they played their cards right on a branding level could be kinda like the ice bucket. Challenge in terms of the ice bucket challenge. Were selling themselves short. And i don't think that we should until they start in all seriousness. This one at least at first seems a little bit more symbolic it's going to include an executive action that basically codifies what we have now massing will be required on federal property and interstate travel all in all. His team is talking about a dozen or so executive actions on inauguration. Day alone yeah. Pretty busy day And then what's gonna come. After that. They have a lot of stuff planned. So second day biden is planning to sign a number of executive actions on cove nineteen specifically aimed at reopening schools and businesses safely and then expanding the nation's testing capacity day three is going to feature biden directing cabinet agencies to quote take immediate action to deliver economic relief to working families bearing the brunt of this crisis sound. Good not entirely clear what it means the stage probably find that i. They're hearing about it. Yes yes and then we could likely see more on climate change and immigration as well on the executive fronts and there are also reports of by team is going to propose a massive immigration bill. As soon as this week that would get sent to congress so yes just a few small things to get started on here but the main takeaway at least from the start is that they are going to be certain things within the realm of by direct control. And they're going to be others. That might more to statements of purpose. That would later require congress to actually get the ball rolling and pass something that dynamic is going to be extremely important as his term starts and they try to hit the ground running right and the cova. Bill is definitely going to rely on congress. So let's quickly touch on the vaccine plan. That biden laid out just last friday as part of that. Yeah so the top line goal that he had is one hundred million shots in the first one hundred days as we heard at the top of the show from his cdc director and that number didn't really sound quite as ambitious at the end of last year. And we thought that we'd be quite a lot farther along than we are right now but as it stands at the time of record we're looking at about ten to twelve million people that have been vaccinated in the us. Even with about thirty million doses. That have been made available and remember not so long ago we were talking about twenty million doses. Actually getting into arms getting administered by the end of last year so needless to say we are quite behind. It's gotta get picked up pretty quick so her yes so has biden thing that he can do this while he wants to use female in the national guard to build more vaccine clinics across the country with a goal of having around one hundred federally supported centers by the end of his first month the also talked about encouraging. All states to broaden their current eligibility to frontline workers and anyone older than sixty five which some states have already done but the idea there is to not have any doses going to waste by also talked about using the defense production act to ramp up actual vaccine supplies and then also make doses more available at local pharmacies. All very solid stuff but the issue. I think they and others are seeing is there are still just two vaccines with limited supply right now. So we're going to have to see how doable this all is over the next couple of

UK announces closure of all travel corridors starting Monday

"Travel corridors have been suspended. It's not as if many of us had overseas family visiting anyway but all travel corridors into the uk will be suspended from four am on monday. The prime minister announced the decision. Saying this is not the time for the slightest relaxation of our national resolve. Anyone who wishes to travel to the uk must prove they've had a negative test in the last seventy two hours that also be required to quarantine for ten days comes as a leading. Scientists said one of the brazilian variants of coronavirus has been detected in the uk. But this isn't the more concerning mutation picked up in travelers going to japan. Another one thousand. Two hundred eighty people have died in the uk after testing positive for coronavirus with other countries. All right is mostly down since last week and the number of daily new cases appears to be turning a corner. But mr johnson warned against any sense of complacency. "Can this producer. He knows who he is. He knows who i am. Can you do this with a blue phone. Are only seventy five bucks eighty bucks a good blue phone their dynamite. Can you take him. Put the graphing on there without dominant. Throw three hundred bucks away when you don't really need that much if you're gonna be taken and reconfigure it anyway. Can you do it on another android phone like a blue phone. No probably not a miami. Probably not all you don't use you're saying that you know now now okay you wanna be an asshole probably you let me get on a blue. No you can't. I'm going to answer the question instead of you insulting me because they specifically build it for certain types of phones blue phone not one of them and it's all the pixels and it's one galaxy and that's there's your answer no it's only for specific devices. Don't tell me about again. Why don't they do it for cheap smartphones like a blue phone because talking to you i'm talking to the developers because the cheap blue phones really are not applicable for the integration. That you want. If you want everything to work see. It's it's not about that. You can get the software on the device but if you want to screen to work right if you want the buttons to work right this takes an incredible amount of effort and they just did it on better devices and not on cheap pieces of crap because people want good good phones. But they don't want to have all the tracking in there. That's why now if you want if you want to install some Some some other operating system on top of android on your blue phone you can. There's things out there. But i can't vouch for this. This is the first one. I'll vouch for good news though. If you go to know agenda phone dot com. You can send your phone directly to our producer and he will do all the flashing for you and set it on there. Will he do. Does he charge not for you and i but he will for everybody else and me. I don't know okay guy. Because i presume not charged. He says semi the phone. But i was looking for this guy Him through a searching. If i no agenda phone dot com. Oh wait a minute. I sent an email. It's the same guy so this is the this is when i get my new one. I'll send this one to you so you can. You can play with it. How does that sound well. That'd be great but wait a minute. Okay i can look a gift horse in. I would like to play with it. I would like to ask questions immediately. I'm curious about this. I know i know you are. Can you use the navigator. Yes it has but your hold on. There's an open source program and it's called Opening it now is called. I think it's called. You are here and now you can. Obviously you can completely locked down your Your gps what apps are using it but this thing works pretty well. It's based on open street maps. It has a very clunky dude voice in there so you know counterculture. Let's make a completely different from anything else. No women just men. And i tried it out just a little bit yesterday. Works well so yes you can end. The maps are not bad. I mean it's not gonna do traffic routing for you ask. You can add that but that is a. Let me make a few comments to pad this report first of all. The original mapping that went on at both apple and google. They had some licenses from somebody that really had good maps. When they first came out they were dynamite. They could try to taste you around. They never major u-turn u-turn you're tuned u-turn u-turn where they are now is not even a u-turn. They wrap your around a bunch of city streets to get you back the other way when they could say tournament easier and then is slowly deteriorated to the point where the maps are really lousy. I think garmon. I think garmin was giving them their maps. Then you'll remember apple had the big fiasco with with maps and they had to pretty much star yet. Had the old the the fire the guy who was responsible for it and they had to pretty much recreate the entire apple maps. it was horrible member. People drive it into water and stuff. Yes the water drive it through. Yes i remember that. So the new. A new mapping scheme that might have some might be better actually than the current. I mean i try not to use a navigator at all. I try to keep my brain. I agree i i wanna get jd. Take it 'cause now. People are driving to the store. You know they've been to a million times love. Turn to navigate on. I try not to. I try never to use it except when i'm in a pinch the what is remarkable is the speed of it. Just how fast things snap and you you know it's like it's almost like lennox where can control a lot of these things and make an even faster than it already is but in general. You're not gonna have a lot of douchebag apps that you don't need that tracking you anyway and you get your canine mail. Which is good and open source improvements. Not be spying on you. Believe me a lot of those great email apps you get From the app store for free. Hello free is expensive people. So that's graphene os. I'm excited about it and And with this with the upgraded version. Wait for it. You can plug in an external monitor and floating windows so you could perhaps use it very much like a desktop just plugging into a usb c the c port in outputs video. While and i've already. I've already tried it at the pixel doesn't do the pixel two doesn't do it. But it was very interesting to a bluetooth keyboard. L. tab works goes through a different app. that's open in email. You know control our reply control. 'send it's like holy crap. It's kinda good everything i mean. I was surprised very subversive product. Yes it is it is so i will keep this. Be honest about it. I when you install anything on any one of these smartphones cisco we get permissions for this and that new your contact list. We want this. We want that they want all these things like. There's no reason half these. These programs want need my contact list. No there's the there's no ask for any of that now. There is something called a. Pk pure which means you can get the android packages that might be on the or they would typically be in a in a in the google play store you can get them without all the google stuff in it but if you i mean i always have to laugh yeah get signal it's encrypted. It's great. I understand how some after supposed to keep you safe and encrypted in your identity hidden refuses to work unless you allow it to take your address book. Hello.

"I got pan on interesting pre-election and post-election coverage to on the hunter biden scandal which was not covered at all By many outlets and the lead up to the election in fact on october fifteenth you had a new york times headline that said trump said to be warned that he was being conveyed given russian. Disinformation over hunter biden now december tenth. Just a few months later. New york times headline investigation of hunter biden is likely to hang over biden as he takes office washington post on october sixteenth. The headline read the truth behind the hunter biden. non scandal. Now you have the washington post headline that says this hundred biden tax probe examining chinese business deals politico october. Nineteenth biden story is russian disinformation. That's a favorite dozens of former intel. Officials say false yet again december. Second now politico. Justice department's interest in hunter biden covered more than taxes. Really interesting turn of events and good for those who covered. What was the story. All along and not rushing a vision for others of disinformation day. I think i heard what he said is that is that what you have here. That used to play play it again. You what do you want me to play the boosted one okay. We go for you. Accuse others of disinformation threader day. Is that The cnn douche. Now he says are you on. I listen at voice a couple of times. You know the guy who normally does the cost of that sounded like a cost to me. It could be a cost of it. I think is john john robin roberts from abc. Carl from fox ella missing referred to accuse others of disinformation threader day. It's not a cause. Could not here and now. It's not a cost. John roberts's with fox. That would make sense sense but then to say how. How can you stand here and talk about misinformation do every day my goodness it's chicken shit thing to say whoever it was and i don't know where these guys were even in these briefings. They should throw them out. I mean i think obama through a couple of what i know. Bush did for sure. No no obama just spied on them and threw them in jail. we talking about the right way trump. Learn these tricks. Nice guys finish last. I guess you know well that was anyway so that may be that maybe report may be the last we ever hear. Kaley ladies and gentlemen bake lie today. Steady kay he the not g kinda tabby ot. We haven't had a report in a while. And i do have some information from the front lines of the ot g wars although really are we talking about a war there is a little bit of war. Going on and as apple is now about to release all of these features that cut off a lot of the spying not a but a significant portion of the spying that apps do and facebook is now trying to garner some support for their position. Because it's pretty much their business. And i've learned from a couple of developers have been talking to this honeypot kind of deal. That's going on with with the app stores. And and certainly the apple. The irs app store. Where if you really want to get some good data. Some good statistics on how people are using your app. There's pretty much library. And that's the one that everybody puts in there and what that does is it gives all of your information all of those statistics to apple. They take it on the way going out to facebook to the. What's the big aggregate. Forget i think who bought them. Recently oracle by them or something here with they combined credit card data with online data. I forget myself to that. Facebook is now saying and of course developers can get paid for this information either through ads or similar mechanisms if they install this tool kit and they get to see what their users doing. Facebook is saying this is horrible. Just horrible that apple's doing that this will kill. This will kill free apps. Well now this is exactly where. I wanna have you Turns out free is pretty expensive. I think we learned that from you. Facebook so while apple is is trying but they you know they have so many sensors in these phones now. So many things i mean. I don't want anyone to ever see that. I just can't trust these guys enter graphing. os which one of our producers had sent me a pixel two months ago if you can remember with graphene s which is a d gold pure android actually almost feels like some lennox. Of course it is some lennox in there. And i decided upon this apple news since i was using the cloaked iphone. Old iphone out. Give this thing another shot. And i am blown away by the level of permissions that you can set for every single app. Everything that is happening. I love that. I didn't lose any functionality. Really eat other than i can completely control all this crap that used to pop up and tell me to do things. And you're just not being tracked by silicon valley and there's some great pie hole like Blockers vpn blazed base. Blockers in there. I've been really examining this for the past week. And i think it is going to replace my. Ot g flip phone although yup yup is going to replace. Now i'm also. I need to be able to send text messages faster now. Because i'm i'm saving podcasting. So i i do need to be able to communicate and the imc believe me. I'm i'm saving more than you realize with what's happening with pod. I'm trying our own preservation. Mr vora appreciated the the the santa. I just don't understand how this means at said text faster well because i communicate with a lot of people And i'm trying to orchestrate move pieces around. And so if i'm whether it's an email or anything else i do need to be able to do this. Not just when. I'm in the house because i'm also out sometimes even even the newsletter. I'm you know the the newsletter california where they won't let you out well who needs a phone where you can live in california right john so i've decided i'm going to give this a real go but i i'm going to get a an upgraded pixel and and this is kind of fun the pixel four which is still an old phone. It's all it's old compared to what they have now with grassy knoll s generational. The five is the one they just released. Yeah but it's old saying is old so now it's old it's it's no longer considered mold Combined for three hundred and sixty bucks in the box on locked. It's doable But the same producer installing this grassy. No s maybe not for the uninitiated or week at heart but however luckily if you go to can.

"Considering retaliating. Look the us government. Were aware of all of these reports. We're taking all necessary steps to identify and remedy any possible issues. Related to the situation as one step in that process has issued an emergency directive. We are taking a hard look on this and obviously Take any sort of cyber hacks very seriously and just one more question on russia. Since of russian president vladimir putin congratulated president elect joe biden any any comments on that from the russian president. No comment on that. I leave it to the president to react to that to president trump. i vlad what you doing. Yeah they always slip that kind of thing now so this fair weather friend vladimir putin is for buddy putin doing man to let's listen to Kaley go off on swale. Well this gym yes. I'm sure she had a lot to say about him. Unfortunate that it doesn't give much coverage in the mainstream media. But i guess we shouldn't be surprised because in the last twenty four forty eight hours. There have been quite a few stories that not on a ton of coverage in the mainstream media. As former white house press secretary ari fleischer said bias is often found in stories. The press does not to cover and last week. We found out. That democrat congressman. Eric swallow was infiltrated by an alleged chinese spy. This spy cozied up to swallow raised funds for his twenty fourteen campaign and even planted an intern in his office in that relationship continued until the fbi. Brief ten and twenty fifteen and that was some very good reporting done by axios but after tangling with this spy for years swallow went on to be one of the lead instigators of the russia collusion hoax. In the impeachment sham swallow wrote this on his congressional web page. President trump and his team are directly and indirectly tied to russia. That was not true. He then set in september of twenty twenty. The president has a compromised relationship with russia on true april of twenty nineteen. He said president trump's certainly acts on russia's behalf and acts like russia's leader knock through january twenty nineteen. Eric swallows that. It's pretty clear president. Donald trump is an agent of russia. True and swallow shamelessly claimed donald trump junior and jared kushner had an eagerness in a willingness to work with the russians during the two thousand sixteen election again. It was false in twenty nine hundred nine. He falsely claimed this yet again. When inquired about collusion by and these basis attacks were false yet covered recklessly by the media. There was no coverage however swale wellbeing the one implicated with russia but china in fact the new york times website. As of this morning had not one result for eric. Swallows ties to chinese spies one result and when the swallows story broke gets how many minutes of coverage got on abc nbc msnbc and cbs zero. No ma'am where's adam schiff. He's got to be on deck next for some of this sums up with him because he's i mean this would be his moment of triumph. You know. we've beaten him orangemen bad here. I am rebutting up. There's a lot up with china that our next year is going to be great. No matter who's president. We're gonna have a lot of china to deal with two here. We go with the. We have three left. Keighley's fact check false clo- everyone no noon yesterday. The united states witnessed a medical miracle. Who the first doses of a co vaccine were administered to frontline workers across the country. The president promised a safe and effective vaccine in record time and president trump delivered earlier this year. We heard from several news outlets and so called fact checks that president trump would be quote a miracle to be right. That was an nbc news article. We were told according to help. Line quotes a vaccine will still take more than a year to develop. Usa today warned us that quote despites medical researchers progress have vaccine close more than a year away and national geographic even told us that achieving vaccine within quote a year to eighteen months would be absolutely unprecedented and quotes these reports deserve their own factcheck. False fact check false. What's an interesting. I'm realizing now that whenever kaley does one of these press briefings my inbox is flooded with a backup material to back up what she said. That's funny it's real. It's where i think a lot of this last bit and especially here geographic even told us senate cheating ashley. Gruff the gut to do anything. And i'll get like look. National geographic did mccain quote a year to eighteen months. A liquid bill nye. The science guy said he said it wouldn't be two years vaccine zero. Okay we get it right so he stuff now. There's now somebody asked two questions really question. That ticked her off. This is a question of their salt on democracy. Oh i love these. thanks for. Permanent trump supported texas lawson at the supreme court and a lawsuit that president-elect vitamin call the result of the monarchy. how's it is it not notifying twenty million votes. Think pursuing a legitimate litigation through the judicial system is in no way assaulting democracy. In fact it's it's using democrat institutions in the manner they are to be used to pursue pursue legitimate claims with sworn affidavits and additional evidence. But i do think what is an assault on. Democracy are the four investigations on into president trump over russia collusion. That turned up nothing molar alone. You had nineteen lawyers forty. Fbi agents two thousand eight hundred subpoenas five hundred search warrants millions of taxpayer dollars to find no collusion and the investigation into president trump began far before he was even elected president of the united states and his intel briefings in the transition period. Where even weaponized against him. An insurance policy from peter struck out was put in place against this president. "You okay Tony have kaley or something else. You wanna discuss. i Well i was gonna kinda lead into. I mean got a lot of Joe biden cabinet like stuff and build back better kind of things. Let's do that i. I do have a biden clip. You know it's not a full. Not true gaff is kinda minor you probably have some better material and just running with it. Well what's your biden clip. You set me up now. The triple six going on by he's got. He's talking to a bunch of educators and he makes stupid comments biden. This under the bites the biden first rate team that you'd all be proud of and we're all ready to go and do an awful lot of work right now but. Here's the thing that i want to mention you know. There's already a circumstance where nationwide because of the requirement of school districts county offices mayors governors having to balanced their budgets. They've already had the layoff. Six hundred sixty six thousand teachers six hundred thirty six thousand. The teachers have been laid off since march. And and i'm worried Tony that noblesville. You have a forced about one hundred and thirty five firefighters and the question is going to be. When do we have to start laying off because the counties and the cities don't have the money they can't deficit expand they have to spend based on balancing their budget. When the first responders and fire service will be laid off what was what was this recorded. What was the context of this talking to a bunch of local schmo schmo locals that are on zoom calls some saudi six hundred sixty six thousand nuts bullcrap divide. I turns out dejected. Good the fact checkers could find a way to to rationalize it. Of course because joe biden will never be fact check false but we all heard the six six six. We heard it. We know what we know. What the idea is even. It was six hundred sixty six. I would have said sixty sixty seven just to just not say it's that's what i would do but it wasn't six anyway. It was like some half that if if less it. That's all people involved. It's just a number cobbled together just nonsense but why six six is a mark of the beast factcheck foscale so before. actually earlier. this week bo. John was in georgia campaigning. Because we have this to runoff races which could determine the the power in the senate and the dust the power in the united states and the world quite honestly it comes down to to to vote to two little runoff elections in georgia. He's joe had to say in. The meantime biden was in georgia tuesday. Where control of the. Us senate will be decided by runoff elections next month as if your life depended on it. I guess why now you're gonna have to do it again. Okay so we know what to expect as already seventy five thousand. New registered voters For this runoff election. Amazing good work. Stacey abrams and then joe came out after tuesday and claimed his victory claimed his victory as the according to him. And the mainstream media. It's all done it's end you john. It's all done. It's in the camera. The electoral college has decided shit is olga so ladies gentlemen. Welcome to your brand new president. Maybe my fellow americans over the past weeks each state and district without regard to party or political preference. He's slumming already right the beginning here. Listen this is fantastic. Guy can't can't get one sentence out. Maybe my fellow americans over the past few weeks over the past few weeks okay. Officials in each state commonwealth and district without regard to party or political preference have certified certified a winning candidates sort of certified today member of the of the electoral college representing the certified winner cast their votes for president and vice president united states in an act just as himself once again the america america the rule of law our constitution and the will of the people prevail our democracy pushed. Justin threatened proved to be resilient true strong electoral college votes which occurred today. Effect the fact that even in the face of the public health crisis unlike anything we've experienced in our lifetimes he's really starts to fall apart. Were only sixteen minutes into the speech. People voted voted record. Numbers were americans voted this year. I've ever voted the history of the united states of america. Over one hundred fifty. Five million americans were determined to have their voices heard and their votes counted. Wait a minute. that's not the falling apart. But it came later when he had to deliver the message. The final message for the new world order counter control and getting the nation vaccinated against this virus delivering the media economic help so badly needed by so many americans are hurting day and building. Our economy back better was.

"This right. I didn't like i liked the piece. I i still like the piece. I like it. It's cute. I'd like to have a bumper car. That looked like that. It'd be great fantastic so sweet so this is only a part of the time. Talented people put into Into these shows. I want to thank neil kick ass job of sending clips But we have so many people who've really honed their skills on making clips again. It's not very helpful. If you say this is an hour and a half you'll definitely get something out of it yet. I definitely won't. Because i get five of those listen to him five of those a day also and this is all said with love. I'm your producer. So i'm you know. I'm like tom cruise in the for second. Except you won't get fired if you If you got a hearing for example don't send fifteen clips. Have you ever heard play fifteen clips of anything. Three max four. If it's crazy out there you have to kill your darlings. Make your selections That's how we make the show even better because then listening through fifteen clips. That are all two minutes. That's another half hour run out of time in the day. I'm sure john you have the same. But but it's really appreciated where people are doing and we love when people come in with their treasure which is the third leg of the value for value stool. That's it were. And we like to honor these donors with their appropriate titles of executive producer and associate executive producer of the no agenda show episode. One thousand three hundred and four indeed. And we're going to start with sir. Mecca nudo de la paz in new brown falls texas. I wished that new braunfels barbecue comedy was still in business one thousand dollars and the honda grill. One of the greatest devices ever made for cooking sat cermak nudo de la paz. I hit my wife. Elizabeth a mouse two or three times and then about two months ago i found her repotting plants on the back porch and listening of her own volition. Who knows to the greatest podcasts. As nowadays she asked me about segments of this show and we discussed it on a regular basis. You're saves the yes. I agree your instructors have taken what was already a match made in heaven to a level of marital harmony that i never imagined cheese. An instant name is is gonna give the executive producer ship to dame sparkler of new browns. Fells please play jingle with depart. Pink floyd under it. at first. john thought it was a dog. But it sounds native to me. Sounds native to me like navajo or pony. I'm not have no idea what his references nanny. Many event putting pink floyd under it is genius. We love you guys yes. I think that he gets the executive producer ship. She gets the damehood. I'm fine with that. So they can kind of split it up. They are no agenda together after all and what he's referring to is not something we do. I'd love to take credit for all these great jingles. No.

"Someone called phantom voters there were just more manner and means of fraud than any law abiding. American citizen could possibly imagine it's stunning. It's absolutely stunning. And they were so in our face with it and then to deny it is purely machiavelli and ironically in two thousand seven then vice president. I don't fuse. Elector to be hopeful. Joe biden was worried about the voting machines to keep it from us being able to be in a position where you can manipulate. The machines relate directors. The one way to do that. Is i think we should pass a federal law. Mandating that the same machines with paper trails be mandatory for every federal. Election the nutshell. I think we should be mandated mandating that we have paper ballots with the standardized machines. Standardized require so. I don't know about everything else. He hires really shitty people. He's smart that he's able to to fire people and you just get rid of him right away or one. It's the problem. But even then maybe not. "No here. We're not gonna make it because they don't have report they're cobbling something together as as a quick aside space force now Per executive only hope has has become an intelligence agency. There was an executive order or announcement about it. Space force is now the space force intelligence agency and they'll be working on nuclear space propulsion. So we can get to mars. I love these guys. So the final rundown here for This is the only person. I find credible at all when it comes to the evidence but man there is so much they there's clip after clip of the dominion ceo. Saying that non out that none of this was connected to the internet and Well i don't think you could stick in a usb stick. I don't know but yeah. I mean fainting honesty and probably lying but here is sydney powell with one minute of her. Her evidence that she feels is enough to trigger the twenty eighteen executive order. I don't know exactly what she means by that. I think the report triggers it but here we go so they had these warehouses of counterfeit ballots in different parts of the country. Apparently and then ship them in the late night as needed to back. Fill in the states. Where president trump's voters poured out in such great number that they broke the algorithm. They had preprogrammed in the computers for dominion to create the fraud. That's why they had to stop counting in five states. And that's why it's absolutely absurd to say that there wasn't voter fraud here. We have counterfeit ballots. We have dead people voting in by the thousands if not hundreds of thousands. There were something someone called phantom voters there were just more manner and means of fraud than any law abiding. "To understand. So again. The thinking is i don't know we're all going to get a big civics lesson. We're going to understand and learn about how the constitution really works. The another great part of this is the resignation of bill barr. Which is the resignation was. He kicked out. We don't know more interesting. He says replacement acting attorney general. The acting attorney general is from the eighty second airborne and was alongside. Mike flynn in the same unit. And he's all about coercion and we have to listen. This is actually from earlier. I think this from august of this year and finally to share a little bit of advice we can borrow from our historical predecessors to begin. I think it helps to clarify a few definitions to describe what we mean by malign foreign influence as opposed to what we might consider just legitimate diplomacy or candidate expressions of legitimate national interests that all nations share with one another in appropriate ways. One definition that's easiest to remember is what we refer to as the three cs framework coercive covert or corrupt activities by foreign governments to influence. Us policy's us political sentiment us public discourse or to interfere in our political processes themselves under the three cs framework. We recognize that. Foreign governments often have preferences about us policies or even the outcomes of our elections. Sometimes those preferences are expressed openly. Our government sometimes has opened preferences about other countries to reference is our opening attributable. No one is deceived misled. "With this and in the uk. See this They've come up with something new to justify. This lockdown which a lot of people are saying is not based on science and i tend to agree. Here's the health secretary of the uk. Matt hancock i'd like to update the house on a new development about the virus itself over the last few days. Thanks to our world. Class genomic capability in the uk. We have identified a new variant of corona virus which may be associated with the fast spread in the south east of england. Initial analysis suggests that this variant is growing faster than the existing variants. We've kearney identified over. One thousand cases with this variant predominantly in the south of england although cases have been identified in nearly sixty different local authority areas numbers are increasing rapidly. Similar variants have been identified in other countries over the last few months. We've notified the world health organization about this new variant and public health. England is working hard to continue its expert analysis at porton down mrs speaker. I must stress this point that there is currently nothing to suggest that this variant is more likely to cause serious disease and the latest. Clinical advice is that it's highly unlikely but this mutation would fail to respond to a vaccine but it shows. We've got to be vigilant. Follow the rules and everyone needs to take personal responsibility not to spread this virus. It is so bad in the uk. Everybody know who had a business is bankrupt. Done it's not really funny this. It's done the just completely. There's nothing left. And and this latest lockdown which. I don't understand other than let's just scare everybody and ruin everything it makes no sense. The numbers aren't there. Although now that the cdc has ace numbers their yes but cdc has bind the death numbers with influenza and pneumonia. So you have. That's not right. That's how they come up with a three thousand dead in one day because people are dying dying of a lot of things. We forgotten to question it. That's that's how horrible this this brain programming has been this mind control just crazy anyway. So we've got the vaccine coming out and you have the the mind. Control remains strong with everybody on television. I love this. This one america news guy who was a total nerd and when he when he finally gets figures out what he did here he'll hate himself for it donates now for further analysis on this moment is adam glut. He's the president of the media watchdog group accuracy media. So adam i want to start with the corona virus. Actually because today we saw major development the coronavirus being shipped out Frontline workers vulnerable populations as well. It's really miraculous. Achievement within itself. It's miraculous just ship out the virus ship it out. Did you even hear it. Yeah you know i can. I can almost it's almost unfathomable how often this happens. Well this is truth wanting documenting this for for a month. Listen to this next one. This is the first black nurse to get the covid vaccine because there were a lot of propaganda lot of promotion of this on television as you pointed out. But we're not quite sure who's gonna spend the dollar so yeah. There was a lot of oh. Usa today had a great article. Or they say you know there are some side effects you might blink with one is slower than you blink with other i you may lose control of some of your facial muscle muscles which is temporary bell's palsy but it's really not that bad i mean that's in usa today must have gotten on some add by early two now. We're trying to push it to the the black and brown communities and listen to what this nurse says. How and when did you get selected to be very first in line. And why was it important for you to do so in public so i volunteered to take the vaccine ever. Since they were talks of a vaccine. I've been telling my friends and family my colleagues stat. When this does come to fruition. That i would be first in line. I trust the science and so it's important for me to lead by example. What i don't trust is how i will be affected by kovacs ovid nineteen. The whole point of the interview is to make black and brown community feel comfortable about taking the vaccine and then i will be affected by couvert max in nineteen zero. That's okay we'll have lots of black celebrities coming to the rescue. Dana bash knows all about it. What do you want to see from the political figures in addition to public health figures. That people are looking to for answers and the people across the country who might be skeptical of the vaccine trust. So i think there's an awful lot of misinformation out there about this vaccine. We're hearing a lot of anti vacs. Propaganda being turned into talking points by people on both sides of the political spectrum. I would love to see politicians from both sides showing up getting vaccinated doing the vaccine on tv on whatever network across the most. Of course i'd love to see them on. Cnn getting fascinated but that will help prove to the american public that this is a trustworthy vaccine that if they themselves see it is safe and are willing to inject it in their bodies so should be american on the street. I think it's important also for celebrities to do it. S particularly ridiculous celebrities many many celebrities winds in their communities. We know more mistrust of the vaccine from minority groups appropriately. So it's important for us to shift that. I'd love to see trump and pence get vaccinated. Just as i'd love to see them wear masks though we wanna see lots of celebrities vaccinated with vaccine not the phony baloney stuff. Barack obama's gonna get and mike pence is going to get and this brings me to tom. Cruise talking of the of the media industry in hollywood. Which as you know is completely owned by china. The chinese communist party Do the report and at first i. I read this the wrong way. Actually and the keeper me straighten. I think to turn out to be spot on with her analysis. Listen to the report from c. This this is good morning america. Thanks so Listen to the. Tom cruise report. Tom cruise reportedly let his cova concerns. Be heard loud and clear. While filming the new mission impossible movie in england in an audiotape from the sun tabloid which is not enough indicated by abc news crews was reportedly furious with staffers. For ignoring safety protocols. I've seen again work.

"Troops were pulling out of Syria we have one against Isis we've beaten them and we've beaten a badly we've taken back the land and now it's welcome back the US decided to leave North Eastern Syria the Kurds were left without the allies had been so crucial to them during the fight against Isis and allies that had been protecting them from Turkey so as Turkey moved in the Kurds had to defend themselves the Kurds respond by re lawyer as many forces as they can towards the border so the fight against Islamic state the counterterrorism operations for the US forces comes to an abrupt end because all these here's now have to turn their attention to trying to defeat Turkey and prevent them from seizing the ground so one of the first effect says the fight against Islamic state the efforts to deters logic state and this meant that no one was doing the daily work to help keep Islamic state fighters at bay it cement there were fewer guards to watch their prisons there are still somewhere around ten or eleven thousand Islamic state detained knees that are being held by these Kurdish forces and you know another seventy two hundred thousand Islamic state women in children who are in these detention centers in northeastern Syria and some Islamic state fighters have already escaped from these prisons since the Islamic state has carried out a few car bombs in the area and Islamic state definitely seems to be trying to capitalize on the chaos to a group as the Islamic state threatens to regroup the Kurds are also dealing with how to find new allies now that the United States is no longer behind them and they resorted to a partnership with one of America's adversaries and so they turn to the Syrian regime and President Assad for hell nope ask President Assad to come north and basically fill the vacuum and protect them from Turkey Syria is a complex and murky war and there are definitely American officials over the years telling them that look don't don't count on America especially after President Trump said last December that we were getting out their American officials who told the Kurds like look the writings on the wall we're going to be leaving and for your own safety and purity you probably need to be making your own your own arrangements with With the Syrian regime civil war has been ravaging Syria for almost a decade in wall many Syrians were fighting against their government the Kurds in Syria have been operating under their own interests that's why they teamed up with the US but the civil war has progressed the Syrian government in its President Bashar al-Assad has also been looking for allies in his two biggest ally is Russia in Iran so Russia and Iran were the two countries that assured that the President Assad was able to retain power Russia provided Assad with the air power and the firepower essentially okay to defeat and beat back the Syrian rebels and Iran provided Assad with ground forces through various proxies because Russia and Iran are involved in the conflict when US troops withdrew from the region they filled the vacuum Russian troops moved in to some of the empty US bases for me one of the sort of most telling and striking moments uh of what's happened so far is one of the basis that was recently abandoned by the US was very quickly taken over we're by Syrian fighters and apparently Russian forces. and there was a Russian journalist to fill himself taking a tour of this us bays and it was evacuated for me 'cause it was very clear there's an an American military base this wasn't any sort of propaganda video it was it was clearly a Russian forces Syrian forces taking over an abandoned military it was clear that America had left some Hayes there were some tractors there the weight lifting equipment was still there still refrigerators full of code doc in milk and it's you know it's sort of a an Fu middle finger to America to have Russians walking around this base in saying Oh cures there here's their coq here's their cheerios and they're gone and here we are you know basically hours after they left where we're filling the void that American has worked for for years to prevent us from filling and now we have power this did not look good for the US S. internationally Russia had entered US bases hundreds of women and children associated with Isis broke free from.

"Time for our troops to come back home but not all US troops actually left about one thousand stayed behind and then about two weeks Oh president trump and the president of Turkey got on the phone that phone call set off a cascade of other events virtually all us oops are now leaving Syria Russia Syria and Iran are moving in to fill a power vacuum and Turkey is carrying out of violent incursion into the country today Vice President Mike Pence and secretary of State Mike Pump Heo travel to Turkey to try and real in the chaos it's unfolded in the wake of that one phone call and this afternoon pence announced a pause in the fighting today on the show why the removal of just a few dozen US troops on the border of Syria and Turkey set off a chain of events that has reshuffled power in the Middle East welcome to the journal our show about money business and power I'm Caitlyn bought and I'm Ryan Knutson is Thursday October seventeenth between trump's decision to withdraw troops from this part of Syria and pence's trip today a lot has transpired Turkey invaded Russian troops have also moved in civilians have been killed and the balance of power in the Middle East has been reshaped and it's all happening in a small area of the Middle East it's currently held by a group of people called the Kurds CBS the Kurds in this region have sort of been a dispossessed group dating back to the Ottoman Empire they're predominantly based in this part of the world they live in the intersection of the borders of Iraq Iran key and Syria Diane Nissenbaum covers the Middle East from a noisy office in Beirut his covered the Pentagon and spent time in the Kurdish areas Turkey and they had hoped in the olden days that they would get their own state and that never happened with world powers and the redrawing of borders and so they've sort of Bennett minority in each of these countries and in this zone between countries and allegiances Kurds have been aligned with many people most recently they've aligned with the United States in the fight against Isis well for them it was a matter of survival the US started working with Kurdish fighters in twenty fourteen when Islamic state was expanding its caliphate in Iraq and Syria and in twenty fourteen Islamic state moved into northeastern Syria which is a predominantly Kurdish area and the US is equally relied on the Kurds to help heap the areas stable together the US and the Kurds in northern Syria have maintained a balance there but one of the countries that borders this region has never have been happy with the US Curtis relationship and that's Turkey Turkish President Rachel type air to one his warned that the Kurdish people could be a threat to Turkey President Erdo on saying wait what are you doing you're working with these Kurdish fighters that we considered terrorists in this is unacceptable to us knockin allow you to do it and the US sang back to them look we've got to defeat Islamic state that's our top priority and we're going to work with them why did Turkey they were terrorists the Kurds Turkey over the decades they've carried out of variety of terrorist attacks and suicide bombing things in an effort to obtain rights or potentially get autonomy and Turkey the group in Syria has no ambitions to attend Jack Turkey so for years the US government has sort of tried to balance these competing interests with Turkey saying you're working with Ariston Syria they're a threat to us you need to stop working with them and the Kurdish fighters who were working alongside America's elite Fighters to eliminate Islamic state in American military officials in the Pentagon saying these are critical fighters these are the people that helped us defeat omic state and we need to stand by them Turkey has remained unhappy with the arrangement over the last few months it's been getting ready to do something about oughta Turkey was trying to push the Syrian Kurdish fighters off the border the Syrian Kurdish forces controlled hundreds of miles of boarder and Turkey saw them as a threat in September and through most of the fall in fact the US in Turkey where trying to work on a peaceful Oh plan to essentially come up with a what they call the safe zone or buffer zone plan in which the Kurdish fighters in Syria would move away from the Turkish board her and they're in the process of doing this in fact the Kurdish fighters in Syria had removed a bunch of barriers fortifications on on the border the head moved back from the border in a few places try and send a message that they were willing to compromise but President Erdo on was getting impatient Erdo unwanted the Kurds to get off the board order with Turkey and it wasn't happening fast enough for him so he set a deadline for the US to figure out a peace deal the deadline September thirtieth when that day came Kurdish forces hadn't moved and the US hadn't finalized its peace deal yet so President Air John had said we're going to move in Mrs Turkish military and their Syrian allies were massing on the Turkey Syria border preparing to go in and president trump sets up the Paul with President Hairdo on to try and avert the Turkish military from going in so there were Turkish troops on the border with Syria Dan on the board of this area where the Americans were in president trump initiated the call initially thinking that he would be trying to get air to wander back down that's right yes eight any longer I'm sending the forces in and so then what did president trump eventually actually end up saying on this phone call and there's been a lot of conflicting reporting about this and from my vantage point I have to say it's not entirely clear what he said what decisions were so what happened on that call the first line that we got was from the Turkish side which sort of made it sound like they were still GonNa continue to talk they were still going to continue to work.

US president two weeks
