FDA, CDC Lift Pause on J&J Covid Vaccinations

"Following the FDA and CDC decision to lift the pause and resume use of the Johnson and Johnson Corona virus vaccine. Health officials in the state say all providers are being notified. They may resume administration of the single shot vaccine effective immediately. Here's WBC TVs Christina Rex, that pause did not have a major impact on Massachusetts vaccination efforts. Out of 2.23 million people fully vaccinated here on Lee 204,000 have gotten Johnson and Johnson Jersey still out there. Still, people out in about aren't sure they trust the single dose vaccine doesn't apply to me because I already got fries, all right. But like emotionally speaking, if I didn't get it, and I was supposed to get it at me, opt out and try to get something else. But local doctors say the investigation should increase confidence in the system and emphasize the J and J shot greatly benefits vulnerable communities with limited access to vaccines. These people that most benefit from a single dose vaccine from a van that could drive around from an outreach group that can get to places the other places aren't going to get it to those groups of people we really need to get to, and I think the Johnson Johnson vaccine doesn't matter. Simply facilitate vaccinating those kinds of populations. Latest figures from the state Department of Public Health Show more than 1400 newly confirmed coronavirus cases 13 new deaths 644 people hospitalized 156 in the ICU and a seven day average positivity rate of just over 2%.

"It's time for richmond. Guess bill short-track season about the conclude. Here for nascar. no well. I love short tracks. I love richmond. And i love richmond during the day. I think it's a great race during the day. I think the groove widens out the drivers have options with the crew. Chiefs are gonna love because there's still no practice dj so you're going to have to hit the ground with what you think. You're going to run in the race and if you miss it early you can get laughed. They're pretty quick. So i liked it. My dry options to move around with the warm racetrack. I was anxious to see martinsville under the but obviously that didn't exactly happen so But it turned out to be a tremendous race. And i just love. The fact of watching different drivers go about navigating short tracks. And i'll use martin rex junior as the example. That only a couple of years ago that we wondered with this guy ever win on the short-track and now he's like fifty or sixty percent on these but what was the most impressive thing. Hardest thing that that driver comes up against is trying to pass teammate. Lead in the race for the win. You know not wanting to other people. You can be a lot more aggressive but he did that. That was textbook. If you watch the way that he worked any hamlin then made all of that happens. Fundraising watch and i agree. I love richmond and the afternoon with it hot and slid

Former Boston Police Chief Davis: Kill Switch In Every Police Cruiser ‘Would Be A Good Thing’

"Yesterday's Rockland 7 11 robbery shot and killed by police after stealing a police cruiser. And then leading officers on a chase through six South shore communities. Here's WBZ TV is Christina Rex, WBZ security analyst and former Boston Police commissioner Ed Davis says. What makes this case unique is not the stolen cruiser but the length of the chase and the amount of times the suspect managed to escape police. Each one of those individual things happens. Really frequently but combined together, this is an unusual circumstance. Leach was shot and killed by police once they finally stopped him in Quincy after a long effort by hostage negotiators. They say he came out of the cruiser brandishing a police rifle. So when the suspect being guarded by officers on the SWAT team to drop the weapon He doesn't comply and starts to make aggressive moves with the police. Only thing they can do is fire. While the unfortunate end of the chase may have been unavoidable, Davis says there's technology in some police cars that prevent them from being stolen, called the kill switch. Now, when asked if somebody did something wrong, Davis says. Not necessarily. The incident is being investigated by the Norfolk County District Attorney's office, which is standard protocol whenever police used deadly force theory.

Thank you thank you for having me. Yeah so a s- could have you on the show. Congratulations on the book. Thank you now a little bit about you before we get started here with the book You grew up in a small coastal town thing. It's cure north carolina and jerry. All the that always things with the that you say security hurly-burly you started writing it East carolina university and you now writer and teacher living in asheville With your husband for children. And so how does how does Being raised in a small town And the life that you're leading inform your writing and and particularly the book book of thorns. Yeah i loved growing up in in kerry beach. It was ideally in. Every way. And i think i do still have that small town Sensibility of family and neighborhood and community and that definitely informs my writing the year thornton. Honey is sort of unofficially set in asheville. I i don't name it as as asheville but Locals and folks who've been would certainly recognize some of the places and i think that just the sense of of community and family It really informs how i ride as as opposed to you know. I don't tend to set things in in big cities. Ashville is actually a pretty small town A really cool town but a pretty small one and so i. Yeah i definitely think that you know when. I'm when i'm crafting a story. I'm really thinking about the the characters and And how they how they function within their whole community are saw Emmy right Sort of about the mystery and wonder of life as you say and it's Contemporary fiction that focuses on these themes of second chances redemption and finding the beauty and the world around us. And i'm curious to what draws you to these things i think that on drawn to those particular themes of of second chances and redemption and learning how to see the the beauty in the around us because it's such a universal set of of themes. I think everyone is going through. You know that kind of thing. We're all making mistakes and hoping that we're given second chances. We're looking for forgiveness and very often in situations where we're called to forgive others And the the beauty in the world around us. I think sometimes we get so wrapped up in things that aren't going well or especially two thousand twenty the way we wish things were that we very often don't stop to take stock of of the things that that are wonderful and the the small beauties especially i think is is really what draws me is is the the small things that that make our live special. So what kind of teaching a year engaged in. Oh gosh i have. I think i have the best teaching job ever. I teach mostly creative writing and some literature to middle school and high school. Kids through a program called elevate life and art which is a home school enrichment program. So i have very small classes but I'm lucky enough to have classes filled with students who really want to learn to write and students really love to read. So it's the it's the best of all worlds. As far as a teacher is concerned really engage students. And who really love the subject. And and i feel really lucky. I've got some kids in my writing classes. That are just amazing. I feel like i'm i'm seeing. The you know the the the little middle school faces of people that will be on the shelves and in the future. Some some really wonderful talent and and i'm i'm happy to be part of their journey when when i started writing i was in that same age but You know typically in school. You don't really get that opportunity to to to write creatively in your classroom. So i'm i'm happy that they have that in and hoping that that it will keep those fires lit for them

Help! My Face is Aging Asymmetrically

"Hi can door love the pod. I'm writing because i'm territory manager for about four years and spend a lot of time in my car driving between many locations like many of us dudakovic. I had not seen photos of myself in quite some time until this weekend in the photo i notice the left side of my face. Driver's side is starting to droop. Slash age more quicker than my right side and it was very noticeable to me. Compared to photos pre covid been working out in the field during this pandemic. I do wear sunscreen. Every day in the summer. I will admit i need to be better during winter. But i'm curious if you have any advice or product rex when only one side slash part of your face slash body is aging faster than the rest realistically. I will be in this job real for at least another few years and only thirty years old any advice would be appreciated. Hope you have a great week. Okay so dory. What are your thoughts. Well i have noticed that. I have more Freckles slash age spots on the left side of my face. ama- driver's side. Yes i am. Also someone who wear sunscreen religiously. But i have noticed this and i'm assuming that that is the cause okay so i had a couple of thoughts one is you said droopy and i wasn't totally sure what you meant but it also made me wonder. Are you sleeping on that side. Because i'd be curious to hear what happens when you start sleeping on your back which is hard if you're not a back sleeper. But it sounds like you might be aside sleeper on your left side. So i can cause the face vaccine caused the face drooping so it might not be just a car. That was my first thought. My second thought is wear sunscreen in the winter where all year round. Don't just wear it in the summer. It should be part of your morning. Skin care routine and you should reapply it throughout the day multiple times. A day ashley since you're in the car so much but don't keep it in the car because it's sensitive to heat. So keep it. In your bag and reapply it. Maybe maybe like every time you get out of the car and get back into the car. Maybe when you get back into the car. You're like okay. Reapply sunscreen keep a powder to power. That's a good idea because that you could keep the car presumably. Yes i like that kate.

"t rex" Discussed on I Know Dino: The Big Dinosaur Podcast

"He's probably walking on land evolutionary speaking and so no the thought here was let's even though he could probably walk pretty fast. I'm gonna dial it back. And keep him slow specifically. Because i want to encourage spinosaurus to stay in there like and that's like defend their lake. Don't let people over-fish they're like you know that's their food source so yeah. Yeah that's cool. I also wanna ask. There's a couple more dinosaurs that we haven't talked about yet. You have a sore pod. Eventually coming to the game marcus morris. Do you have any thoughts. About what margaret is going to be like in the game sar. Pads are so difficult. They are so big. You know you're trying to lock in the forest and you're too wide and stuck in a tree heads in the indicate. See anything is trees so the thought here it was. I'm not going to pretend that will be able to get something like peg titan. I think this giant giant sewer replied or like a breakfast type four syrup pot or anything like that. So what we're trying to do for the scape is let's take i really wanna disor pods. We're gonna do smaller store. So our margaret source is like louis arguably size a little smaller than t rex or something like that right and the thought here was if we mcteer expended game than our marcus morris could fit in the game. It's a really interesting dinosaur. Because of the next fine. And i know there was a relative of that discovered actually fairly recently bajadi source i think where the the the the spies on the neck are actually facing ford. Ya and one of my thoughts. Here's if i do margaret source. I'm very interested in making sub-species it has the point. Four even even though it's a different dinosaur tightly as think super cool. So so thoughts here with our margaret source. In general though is kinda slower you know has its whip like tail has the spines in the front. You know it's gonna be quite an interesting dinosaur the play as 'cause very few games that you play as Pod because they just go. Hey it's going to be too big and too slow sarkin. Newt some really interested shrine to make it work out. yeah cool one more dinosaur. I want to ask you about. There's micro raptor how what do you think like fitting into the scheme of will will it be able to glide. Yes it will glide. They can climb. Trees is going to be really really small. That's another thing to consider is balancing the game between a giant tyrannosaurus and a micro micro raptor right so. That's definitely a very interesting gameplay designed to get around like you know most games all the characters are about the same size so it's very difficult to try and balance these things like how does t-rex fight. A microwave doesn't even notice it yes so small. It's climate tree. Just making some screeching sounds the t rex. Teric says i don't have enough time to try and hunt that. I'm gonna starve soon. I need to go and find something bigger and more substantial to eat. So yeah in terms of like the game play for micro after because it's a little further out that something like it will add after the game released as kind of like a stretch goal dinosaur like you said it's a little hard for me to specifically pinpoint what the game play is going to be like but one thing i'm very interested in trying out. No no no guarantees here. But i love to play around with the idea of micro after being like the troll. Dinosaur is. it's just it's like a trickster and can make dinosaur calls of creatures that you know it's heard before so you could hear like a micro after mix to expand masur's people and stuff like that and it could fly around probably can't get hit by people like if it's on the ground trying to eat something all right. Fair game but probably. It's climbed up tree gliding around. Trolling people in a kit really hurt anybody maybe could pekka dynamic is. Maybe but it's it's not gonna really be killing anything. It's going to be more of a scavenger confusing and annoying the other dinosaurs. So i loved the idea of if people just wanna bug other people they go play my. Yeah if you do that. That would probably be the one i play the most. That's a really good solution because otherwise it seems like my character would just be totally not even in the same world. it'd be like a world within a world. Michael raptor would be like hunting bugs in climbing trees doing something completely unrelated to everybody else playing the game unless you add some element like you're saying words sort of the troll. That's really clever. Yeah it's it's difficult trying to think of. How do i make all of these completely. Different animals. interact with one another in a meaningful way. I don't know one thing we added. We were thinking about it from a gameplay design thing. let's say you've got dinosaurs in there in this big heard all lambie source or something like that in a big her. That's great and if you're not able to invite let's say a camp a source albert ceratops cancer source if you can't invite any of those types of dinosaurs to your party and make a heard with them. You're kind of restricted. In if there's other lambie source players. Or may i on the map right and it starts getting difficult because we've got like twenty dinosaurs now and will be adding even more and there'd be modern dinosaurs and you can tell that people are just going to cram as many dinosaurs as possible into this game community standpoint from like development standpoint right and so one difficult decision we had to make the kind of goes against realism and is more into the game. Play thing is we let basically any herbivores or any worse. Go into a group together and late together. So you're kind of like mixing species mixing the pack up. You know and it was difficult to make the decision. Like i said it's just you know it's not really realistic. Dad like dynamic a ran a source in a group together in hunting. But when you think about it from a design perspective are thought here was the dynamic is is faster than the t. rex and the dynamics could like scout ahead and tell the t-rex hey found some guys over here come on over in the tier slowly lumbers on over and the t-rex tries to ambush them and you're the dynamic is can try and hurt them towards the t. rex and you know you've got like an actual group kind of not quite the same as like tank healer. Gps not quite the same as that. But like as thing like fast and exploration slow and bulky. You've got dinosaurs that can do calls. That will give buffs people. You got dinosaurs. Venom speculative venom putting venom and bleeding. She can apply status affects. She kinda everyone gets the pick the dinosaur they want to play as instead of having to pick one dinosaur and they all have strengths and weaknesses so when it comes to pcp there's actually a bit of a balancing act. You can do with your friends here just thinking of land before time you could get a group of friends in each play a dinosaur similar to one of the ones. Yeah that's exactly it and you'll be able to. It'll be great. Yeah that's a really good idea. I like that. It also kind of solves the problem of your baby and how to you. You'd have to be protected by the same. you know. Same species moon if you can go in a herd. That's already existing in get a little protection that way that that sounds good. When you have the carnivore heard though. Are they going to just eat each other a lot of the time i feel like they could do. I mean part of the game play. Is i see a dynamic is there is is he worth more to be being alive and it's like being a scout for me and like maybe once he gets a dinosaur. I'll just eat him. There's nothing stopping people from doing that. Like using other people as tools for their survival sir absolutely. That's what we're going to be encouraging to like it's a it's a dinosaur dinosaur world out there that does make my corrupt seem appealing because the calculus on that is probably while they're better at for scouting ahead and things and not worth eating cool. I like it a lot. I'm excited so for our listeners. If they haven't already checked guys out like what. Where's the.

A Prayer for When God Wrecks Your Dreams

"A prayer for wind. god rex. your dreams. I'm andy smith read by liam martin for my thoughts are not your thoughts. Neither are your ways. My ways declares the lord as the heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah fifty five eight through nine is their dream in your heart. That you feel is being delayed if you look hard enough you may see another blessing in disguise. Some dreams of mine include being a wife and mother. I'm single but i'm grateful to god that he's been able to fulfil the emotional longings. I have in unexpected ways. I understand the heart numbing. Pain of a dream that hasn't come into fruition. It's hard to consider weight or no to be loving isn't it. We can often feel neglected. Lonely heartbroken tired or hopeless in this society of social media overload. There's things that can pop up on. A news feed that can cut deeper than any sharp edged sword. Seeing someone receive a blessing that you have cried about worked for prayed for and dreamed of while you're still in the waiting room is ridiculously hard. We're called to be joyful with our brothers and sisters in christ. rejoice with those who rejoice many times also comes through one. We talk about street. Famous in god in rightly so but being honest. I always come back to this next thought. If my dream does not come true. If i never receive what i've knocked on heaven's door for year after year does that mean god is not. I hope you know what the answer is. But just in case. Let me remind you and myself of this single truth. God is faithful to us at all times whether our dreams come true or not his faithfulness to me is saving me from an eternity apart from him. When i look back at things. I've gone through. I also see a bigger picture of his faithfulness in his guiding hand in my life. He is faithful to complete his work in us but not to complete our dream to do list so be confident of this that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of christ. Jesus philippians one. Six god is still good. God is still omnipresent. God is still faithful to us. Because he is god. And i am not a may you be comforted by the assurance that staying rooted in the lord is the most assured way to live a full joyful and dream come true kind of life jeremiah. Seventeen seventy eight tells us but blessed is the one who trust in the lord whose confidence is in him they will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It is not fear when he comes its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. The only way we can have a content heart and joyful life is letting him love us pursue us and fill the heart naming. We have with his grace. That doesn't always make it easy to let go over dream or to let it sit still for a season and i know god recognizes that. Don't forget that we are what he dreams and desires and he loves a so much his will and dreams for us are more than we can even imagine. And that's more than okay. Let's pray. God thank you that your will and your plan is always perfect. It might not be easy or always feel good. But i know you see the big picture and know what's best for me. You are always good. "Ooh! Will off the bench. It's I. Just I'm. And then the other part. I don't know how they're going to do this. Guys and you know you've sat down on the Florida Games. With no fans in the stands, and now you're gonNA. Hear everything. These guys say every time. The whistles blown every every everything I. It's going to be involved I do. Love older. It's GonNa. I do too but Donna steps pretty bad. HILARIOUS Larry Hilarious. Now you put it on delay. You have an eight. You have a five seven. Yeah Yeah I've same delay and someone's. It's like anything someone sitting there with a button and they get it. They don't and they try to me. I want to hear what to me. The best moment is when that thing is. There's going to be. There's going to be home. Homophobic stuff said in the spur of the moment. It's going to be rate it not really racial stuff, but the N. Word said all the time a whole game because you I mean it just is, it just is. It's there's just a lot of STU-. You there. You've been there Nolan United to Larryelder I I love it I love nothing more than guys. This shit talking one another. Are You, GonNa? Do you're playing basketball? Nobody means any of it. You're just, but it's. I'm looking forward to it and hope for the fan. I WANNA. Hear to want to hear what Patrick Beverley is saying to whoever he's checking up on like I wanNA hear how he gets into someone's head. It's it's gotta be amazing. The other thing that I think guys that that when when I think about this. I think about myself going playing. It would be hard to especially when you're used to a crowd and guys like Lebron and those guys who've played in front of crowds forever now. When you go into a gym and there's nobody in there. It feels like scrimmage, and it feels like a practice and you know I worry about a bad call and a guide just boating the. punting the ball into the stands, and just being out fuck this and walking off the court. You know because the now hopefully. They've had this schooling while they've been there to be like guys listen. This is important. Like. Yes, you cannot if you do. They're serious repercussions, but yeah. I worry about how. You know how guys are going to interact with officials and stuff. Treat it like that. They should treat it like. Can you hear me man? y'All got in the Army Yup. They should treat the scrimmage from the last dance between Jordan magic and treat it like the heat. That thing as there is good. In that. The level of competition was above the rim, and it was above the level of normal scrimmage felt like a real game. You know they should dig into those things I. There's real stuff on the line I mean the the crazy thing is this season was gonNA line up to be amazing. You're looking at the Lakers and the clippers as you know. West Western confidential Western Conference finals in new and again you're looking at Toronto in Milwaukee in the East. That would have been amazing that just you think about those teams you think about those players in the NBA has stars on so many teams right now that. Joel embiid on the sixers in like just a guy like that. You always have a shot. Don't sleep on the Celtics. Slave on the Celtics. We will young team. You know who's going to be different player when he comes back. Gordon Hayward Yano, man that. Dude. He was getting it back now. He's now he's done the same footing with everybody else and sleep on. The Celtics Man I watched a game with Gordon Hayward and he would have like the beginning of the season. When he was coming back, he would have one great game and then I'd Games but I saw a great game that he had and I'm like no one can check this guy in with Brad. Stevens, you know ball datum though. On Brown Kemba, come on! Those guys are a nightmare. They just they need a big. They need big, but if you if if. That's a team that. This pandemic. You know this whole thing is probably you know could be basketball life. End Up benefiting because. Nobody wants to have to gear your defenses for four different guys. You GotTa Stop Right now, and they're both. They're all twenty seven younger. That's yeah, it's incredible line lastly, and lastly it's move to kind of what you're doing right now in addition to doing. Color, stock pre-game stuff for Kentucky which I just loved it. They welcomed you back to I. Mean you've had event an unbelievable life? You know you you got injured and like so many people suffered. Debilitating injuries and then went into. You know actually know act hydrophone dependence on. which is like a ridiculously huge problem in our country right now and we've had people in our family that have have mad, and so we've seen it firsthand how difficult that can be and so you know, and it ruins your life because you were Catholic public person NBA was like giving you chances in the outline. It really well sixty piece your if your. If your life was a basketball game, you had a decent first quarter. Your second quarter was insane. You came out in the second half and. had. A run that you had that I came out. I can have pull my pants down. Shit, right in the middle of the floor. and. But. Listen I look at your. Here's the deal you our friend now now that we've done it. We love you and love everything really, but I will say this when you got busted for stealing merchandise from an apple store. I'm going to tell you the joke that we made and I know you're GonNa Laugh. I can't wait. Are Was it was a name? What it's it was the most steals. He's ever gotten. He wasn't known for that anyway. I, was it and and so it's just credit credit you. You should get fourteen. Right Miami Mayan Tissot! My anticipation got better over. Right! The defense. The defense. Store was open. Was Open. Back door. Yup Yup. So That you can laugh at that. Front door. Isn't that. Terrible terrible. No, it's so great! Laugh at it though there's like I said there was a moment in the easiest that really to me was amazing, and you described going into re have the third time walk in getting to your bed, which you shared a room with someone laying down and looking up at the ceiling, and saying something to the effect of this is where I need to be right now. This is exactly who I need to be an. It's so funny as an athlete you're like. Like all right I gotta run these wind sprints one more time, but in your heart. You're like this. What I have to do, if I want to be the next guy I need you, you're you're dying inside. You can't breathe, but you're like I'm GONNA. Get to that end of the court and come back and do these suicides because it's GonNa, make me a better person, and and that athlete.

"Crazy. But what a what a fantastic human being! He's one of my favorites I. Mean You were a guy in the NBA who several season averaged nearly twenty points a game? You average over the course you're looking at. You like about fifteen sixteen points again. Something like that. Way that's hard to do. That's amazing to do. It is I mean I look. It's funny, because again as kids kind of around that time we were like there was rex chapman in there was rex walters I don't know how much like crossover you have a threat he was. He was very very good player I. Get this about three times a year I'll be a hotel somewhere or maybe a an elevator and someone will say hey. Do you talk to Donna's much? Meaning donnas Jordan Louie Rex Walters roommate. At at Kansas. And? Sometimes I just got talked to him in a while I don't. Did you play. Vaguely. It's so I mean we're jumping all over the place here, but like you I remember you know since we've been out since we out of college and got to know like Matt. Jones in drew Franklin up is from Kesar. We've understood how Big Kentucky basketball is. And how truly how amazing it is, and as we become more fans of the game as the whole, we were Michigan fans and all that time, but now we've really understood become fans of the game. The we've done comedy and Bloomington we. We went to assembly hall. We went under the stadium in walked around and got to see kind of the nuts and bolts. Now if you love sports, you gotTa love the teams with the most tradition and whatnot in Kentucky without a doubt is at so for you to be a Kentucky Kid. Yeah, with all those expectations common, and they did a great job of highlighting this on the East 60-piece. Highly recommend people watching that on you. That just came out or just came out a little while ago it. talked to us about like the the amount of expectations that maybe you didn't even fully understand as a kid, but now that you're part of Kentucky basketball. Can you imagine if a kid like you would came out of Kentucky today? You know what I mean and if you. Today what they're yet He'd probably end up real fucked up just like me. Not Pressuring Long Astonished. Pressure Journo rank. Him Yeah I honestly I didn't feel. I didn't feel any pressure. Not Real any real pressure to play well or to perform. I had that I had that under control I played hard hard enough. I was GONNA play well, so that was not the pressure that if I had off gain I was going to have a good game coming back. So the the playing itself wasn't. It was just kind of this. The social a you know. I went from just like you guys just like all of my buddies. They all we prayed row every night on measured myself on the door every day in seventh and eighth grade when I get home. Just hoping I would grow. And all my friends did and then it just happened for me it between I was five seven as a freshman in high school I came off. The bench played freshman. JV and Varsity Two of my best friends are are were freshman. Also they only played varsity. They started for four years, and then I started. Yeah, and so over that summer I went from five seven about six three. And My body was all messed up and gangly and back Amiss Games because of my back and my knees and then And then just started coming together athletically, and once I started being able to run and jump. You know then. You know everything sorta changed. changed everything, but chain definitely changed basketball wise, but I I'm telling you until that point in time in really even maybe later I never thought about. I just thought about playing ball. I just wanted to play ball I. Didn't know you made money from doing that. I didn't know anything, not really. We didn't the first NBA game I played in. I went to I. Pull Lady I'd never seen an NBA game. Unbelievable that. Was The for yeah. Because you're in Kentucky I mean we grew up. With no, we had no team. KNOCKER WHAT NBA game. You're GonNa go the closest thing you could go to Pacers. His game or Acer's hawks are hawks. Razor hawks out, maybe the bull. Would you do that? Yeah my dad coach, so we didn't have time during basketball season to do much of that, but Yeah I just I didn't think about the any any of the other things that would go along with being you know a recognized person sure and and. That part of it and I was always kind of had some social anxiety anyway and. Yeah so. If he came up now, you'd be like Johnny Manziel that Kidding A. Hollywood I'd have been like you know I. Mean Yeah, world by the tail. You do anything. Go anywhere, say anything. Nobody gives a shit until you mess up. You mentioned that you were you. Just go to the racetrack and hang out in in bet on the horses where you go into Kane Lip. Is that what? Let, let me backtrack. Grow. Quicken's. I got I got sidetracked second shot and give a shit about going to Kentucky the and that that's that I didn't like Kentucky basketball, growing up I felt like they were the blue bloods in the state, which they were young was a Louisville fan I grew up near. Lowell y'all dude. I spent my childhood. Wanting to be there'll griffith. I mean that is. And you. Were you're fan of? Our away her orbison. Knows guys were my friends, and but Darrell. Griffith he was before and I just wanted to play like narrow one be like Darrell. He had a gold tooth. I wanted a gold tooth like narrow. can still slow. You can still. I'll send you a picture. We get off of here I. Actually did get a gold cap. Goto than took a picture. In it one day. To show my mom like I really gotten once in that to you after a while, and I wanted to be and and Louisville Star recruits me my sophomore year. So once they did shoot, it was a rat I add told the from you know for all intents and purposes I was GonNa go to to to you. L. After my junior year and I was perfectly happy with that that was Kentucky and Louisville had started playing one another also in recent years. And I rooted for lable every time and then just you know. e! E sixty thing I ended up going to Kentucky and I. I love IT I. Wouldn't change a thing, but I didn't feel really any sort of allegiance or pressure. When I got here to perform I, would have been. You.

"Yeah that's a good. It doesn't always stop guys though. Whatever dance with you then like just down to take the chances young? Yeah I don't know I feel like in general crow virus. I don't know I feel like I'm not that scared. Maybe I should thank you okay. You're young and you're healthy and you're not gonNA get sick. GotTa tell yourself well. I'm trying to tour tour too. I did three tours and so this is my fourth one and I don't want to cancel because I want to meet people like you know it's just again by the time this airs. The world might be over where it's all going to be one who knows but right now like as we're recording this like anytime you turn on any news or anything. It's everyone's kind of freaking out and you see everyone walking around the masks on which I hear doesn't stop you from getting it. It's all like germs. It's weird. It's weird it definitely says like what the fuck is worse than it was with the like. I don't know if you remember bird flu or SARS or a remember that one was already seems worse than that but anyway let's I know people are scared of that but at the same time people literally just like random people's asses and I was like that's like more of a disease. Yeah well eating random people's asses I would imagine would be a corona spreader coronas spoil proctology. Yesterday he didn't elbow bump and then he was like up on athlon. I was just like what is the point. You're like my proxy. It wasn't like a random person but like it was weird. 'cause he didn't want to take my hand he literally. I was like to be serious. And then he was like all up in there. I was like well. Saad odd thing but I just did proctology. Just recently. I went in there to get my butthole checked. And how was that I love? I love stuff like this. We'll talk about it to get my butthole checked because I just wanted to know if I was like as a I. I went in there to get the old like checkup right and for those watching. That don't know you might not know when you go into. The doctor puts like a little thing is being a goes up your butthole. Make sure you're good so we did that to me and he goes. You know you're in here about ten years too early like well. What do you mean he goes? Usually a man comes in for his prostate checkup. You know around fifty and I was like I guess. I'm just I'm Jewish so I worry a lot. I think I was just extra like wanted to know. And he's like you're fine and I had the trauma of some dude shoving his finger at my book is my first time. A man put his finger in my but hold on it. Try Okay. We could talk about this because I'm not a whole guy I don't want there's something about it. Like a couple of girls have tried before they put it in there to kind of see and I tighten up. Yeah I need to relax relax relax. That's my metaphor of life is to wound up maybe a little more butthole up there. Because I'm I'm too wound up. That's always true. The people who'd never have done anal stuff is always the ones that are so tight and it's ironic that that's called being anal. I think they say that. Like Gay dudes have the least colon cancer. Because they're happy because they have all the action going on in the area. I think the doctor told me that he's like yeah gay gay guys and women use toys on their butthole or whatever our way less likely to have anything go wrong and there because the blood flows to it and all that stuff and douching in. Dushanbe Horror Regina. Both Oh you could. Dushanbe don't want shit on it. That's what you think. What about bleaching? That's what I've been getting done laser and the because I started only fans like a couple months ago so everyone wants like butthole stuff and I never was really into balls and I was like you know what. Let me just get this bleaching laser showing it up close you know what I mean but yeah I guess that's like it doesn't hurt it. I don't know great for it. But it doesn't hurt so bleaching it so does that. Just sterilize it or does that make it. So what does it just to make it pretty? Oh for me. I mean like the sink. I didn't know I thought it was to be see. I don't I'm not educated on the butthole where to God. I thought it was for cleaning it to stay sterile. Nine to look whiter. You go like clorox and I feel so dumb. That kind of leading is not good for it. I feel like you might die. Or what do they use? They use Clark's to color. Bleach like to do the study. Okay gene okay. I don't know that's a whole other thing. I'm here to learn now. Okay Yeah I love kind of stuff. I'm interested in and I always think that 'cause I'm never was like an anal person guys like it and your prostate. I just learned the other day literally from I guess. The other day he told me like what prostate was. I didn't know. But that is what hits your. Gps buys the prostate for men. So got a funny story. My buddy I won't say who he can't no one would know who he is a friend of mine. I just don't WANNA put him on blast. He he went to the doctor to get as he had like a urinary tract infection so he goes to the doctor and the doctor shoved his finger up his ass and made a left hand turn and he just came everywhere. My friend he said. That's where the male g spot is. He didn't know this so he said afterwards he had to come in like a petri dish to get sampled for an STD's or whatever and then afterwards he's like doc. Why didn't you just have masturbate into the thing? Why did you have to shove you and he goes? I forget the reason why but he was like traumatized because this doctor with fat fingers went. Boom rail made a left of what he goes. The G spot was up and I think I can't remember you said it was to the right or the left and he goes dude. Everything just dumped out like it was a trigger like it just got triggered kick. Good way I feel bad but that's well that's interesting. What's he trying to make them? Come though or he wasn't he was he needed to sample his semen for something so then afterwards he was like what could have just masturbated. Doc You need to ramp up my ass but now I know where the g spot is. Yeah it's different for different people actually going to circle it because you don't really know it's like girls. It's not all in one spot fingernails. You can't do that to hurt somebody what to a man angles. I mean that's a whole other thing I've done it. Yeah nails actually kind of add to it. 'cause it's a little bit of pain that's sharp. I wouldn't do it to you if you're a novice. I'm a novice. I'm scared of the sharpening of my ball. I this is so funny. "Couple of seasons seasons anyway so no matter what you're going to have massive extinctions everywhere but it would be nice to know how much so it was up as well something. I think we can't really tell from at this specific research though it we always knew it was bad but now we know now we have an idea of how bad and some really hard evidence of exactly what happened. I'm glad we weren't around then but I am glad that happened because otherwise we probably wouldn't exist. Oh yeah the dinosaurs would probably still be thriving the Non Avian Ones. I should say we'd be stuck in our little boroughs like our ancestors well speaking of non avian dinosaurs from the the in times. You've got the second most complete T. Rex skeleton. We've known so far that's going on a world tour for the next five years and this t rex is known as has Victoria Victoria was between eighteen and twenty five years old when the dinosaurs died the fossils were found in South Dakota back in two thousand thirteen and it took eight months to excavate a hundred ninety nine bones. Oh that's a good find yeah yeah very complete and then it was brought to a lab in Victoria Toria in British Colombia where it was studied in practice and that's how it got the nickname so Victoria was about forty feet long and twelve feet tall and probably weighed ten and a half tons and they have a complete skull. There's an absorbed tooth in the jaw interesting and two teeth that grew out of the same socket. There's also teeth that may have been broken from crushing bones. Victoria has some fused vertebrae that shows severe neck trauma is a bad infection in the mouth to after for being bitten by another T. Rex which is probably what killed Victoria. There's a lot of papers that will be coming out about this t rex in the future but in the meantime Victoria restart the world tour at the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix and will be there from November seventeen th to May twenty fifth of next year and then move on to other countries and anyone who visits can see the complete skeleton create a Hologram of Victoria interact and learn how this t rex lived and watch scenes of Victoria portrayed as a mother hunter in a protector and you can buy tickets online.

There's a new dinosaur museum that opened up up admissions free and this museum means that there's now a museum in between Denver and Fruita Colorado so many dinosaur museums apparently not not enough is enough. We can have enough next thanks to Daniel who shared this one with us so on September Fifteenth animatronic dinosaurs are going to be at the bath racecourse in the UK. There will be a T. Rex Raptors and baby dinosaurs and visitors can learn about dinosaurs and do ranger training where they can learn quote what what to do with an emergency dinosaur breakout situation in quote could have you know with birds yeah kids under eighteen can go for free and Bertha have been kept in cages might be extra angry. Yes especially cassowaries. Oh no rampaging cassowaries are not something I wanna see. No in Las Vegas Springs preserve has a new exhibit called dynamite which is on display for now until September twenty second and it's a custom mural that shows strong dinosaurs stores and quote things they might say or do while stomping through the preserve and quote sounds intriguing the Science Museum of Minnesota recently had their first dino. I know I and that included a wife size. T. Rex puppet live animals and talks from experts and it sounds like this was going to be an annual thing. One of the experts at the event was Dr Alex tastings. We interviewed him back in.

"So if you think about that looking at this, this could be either right? This could be a T Rex just killed and his start to triceratops, or it could be a T Rex as walk along in his found dead triceratops, and there's nothing about this mouth that helps. You know which is which, because we don't know. Well, it turns out that we probably do know, there've been a couple of cases where. Animal. That's an ad Montessori duckbilled dinosaur. There have been a couple of Montessori duck. Billed dinosaurs found with t Rex bite marks on their tail that have reeled you talking about this big kind of smaller one behind. Yes. So imagine if you're a T Rex and you, if you bit the back end of Bill dinosaur that was alive got away. And it Rehelim that would be evidence that the t Rex is trying to eat you. When you were alive as opposed to finding a bite Mark. That didn't repeal, but it could be both couldn't it could be a predator and scavenger. And I think that's of course. Most predators are scavengers. I mean, most predators will eat anything that comes along dead or they don't care. They just want food, but to say something's only scavenger is almost sort of misleading phrase of my, my own view of the world. So I think that what you have here is a predator who would eat anything wanted whatever it wanted to the museum after pay for this t Rex. No, we got this on loan from the army corps of engineers. It was found on. Federal land managed by the US Army Corps of engineers, and they had it stored at the museum of the Rockies and Moseman and they had to be Rex's from the same place. And we politely asked him to borrow one of them, and they said, well, yes, you can borrow our T Rex because we're both part of the federal government. If you look up at the tail of T Rex what do you notice about the brackets will first thing I noticed is that they're brackets not driven through the, the bone. So to all the bones have them we're just some. No, there's I can see a bracket that's like twenty or twenty five slides entail. And then there's another one about nine ten. And then there is a string of bracket. Yeah. So they're not all bracketed. What you're seeing those careful brackets like that. The things that would bracket a stone onto a ring every time you see a bracket you're looking at a real fossil bone, every time you don't see a bracket you're looking at a cast or reproduction of the bones. The skeleton is not totally complete, but the rare fossil bone. We use those brackets to basically class, the bones in place. This is kind of different from some of the other fossils that I've seen where they might like drill it or, you know, they'll, they'll go through the bone to hold them together and the host them. We don't want to do that because this is a rare fossil so our ideas Bill is very beautiful elegant class that claps the bone firmly. Hold it in place. So the Boehner's protected, but when we have a cast would destroy a holding just made a plaster so you could see the thing with the tail is only that one vertebrae.

"There is a lot of news happening right now. And you know, I feel like in a lot of ways it's just hard for any story to rise above the fray they'll start to blend together, especially if you do a daily podcast. That's true. But you know, every once in a while UC story that just breaks through all the noise just bust through it, all and the other day. I saw exactly this kind of story. And I ran over to cardis desk. Ran all the way over adjoining cubicle. And I was like Cardiff you're not gonna believe this somebody selling tarantulas wrecks on EBay. This is indicator from planet money. I'm Stacey Vanik Smith, and I'm Garcia who didn't care if there was nothing else going on with that story. I was like soul. Let's do something about it. Yeah. So today on the show. Yeah. Someone is selling t Rex on EBay so many questions. How does one come to own a t Rex had you figure out what to charge for a t Rex? And who do you sell it to? We're looking for museums and billionaires in fact. The market museums and billionaires that right? Support for this NPR podcast and the following message. Here is the specific EBay listing for the t Rex it. Reads young baby t Rex dinosaur fossil most likely the only baby t Rex in the world and as a fifteen foot long body in twenty one in skull with serrated teeth. The price is today's indicator two point nine five million dollars or best offer. Obio we're best offer. So first question who has a T Rex to sell on EBay amount Dietrich, and I'm a professional dinosaur hunter Allan found the baby t Rex. But I gotta say wearing out of boots you find it dinosaur. But says y'all got to go to the right spot Garfield county, Montana and carting county, South Dakota. So those are the two really good spots on T Rex and like all good fisherman. I went to where they were catching the big bass and find the big p rexes. Yeah. This is also the first thing I didn't know about finding telling T rexes. It's like, finders keepers. Yeah. In the US, if you find a dinosaur on your property you own it. It's yours. You can donate it or sell it or turn it into a coffee table, whatever you want. So vessel hunters like Alan go to fossil country. They rove around looking for likely dinosaur hot spots. They find the person who owns. The property where the dinosaur is or might be knock on their door. Andy says, hey, I've got a proposition for you. Let me look around your land for dinosaur bones. And if I find one I'll give you a cut, Allen's found a lot of fossils this way, including the baby t Rex he and his brother were fossil hunting in Montana when his brother spotted something in the dirt. He found part of a tooth. And we didn't know what it was we thought. Well, it's too small to be Rex it. It's it's serrated. But it it's too small. It was about two inches, whereas a full grown T. Rex tooth can be up to nine inches long. Terrifying. Allen and his brother weren't quite sure. What they had. But they started digging. We have ribs. We have vertebrae we have skull. We have the legs are are extremely long. So he was a long legged guy legs for days. I wanna restaurant. That's like we have vertebrae. We have. Anyway. Okay. Scientists who studied the specimen that Allan found. Allen's T-rex said they thought it was about four years old when it died and Allen named it son of Samson after t Rex he found years ago named Samson. You know, it's got a good ring to it. Yes. It does. So I feel like, you know, it would be good commercially to sell this dinosaur with the name son of good commercially finding dinosaur bones and selling them to museums and private buyers is how Allen makes money one of the pioneers of this business is Pete Larson. Larson runs. The black hills institute of geological research in South Dakota. You're also a fossil hunter you found. A lot of tyrannosaurus. Rex is far we've collected ten different transverse Rex skeletons in personal skeletons, and that's kind of a record. I guess okay. Pete is being modest there around forty t Rex skeletons that have ever been discovered and Pete has found ten of. Of them. And he is also found in sold all kinds of dinosaurs. But he says, you know, T Rex are just undeniably the coolest coolest in the most profitable. When Pete started out in the fossil business in the late seventies. It wasn't really a job that people had but that changed in the mid nineties when a couple of things happened. I. Such
