"It's a fascinating story. One of my favorites this week, plus a murder mystery series about inflation. It's this week's cover story. It's a really fascinating read and really digs into why central bankers around the world why the fed is scratching its head over inflation. And why it matters. And maybe why it's different this time. It's an awesome, Peter coy story. It's a must read but first Carol this feature start really fascinating the boy scouts of America decided to become just scouts and the girl scouts said. Wait what there's a lawsuit going on right now between the two of them. Not quite sure how it's going to play out. And what's also interesting. Is you get a deep dive in? Into these two organizations. They're more than one hundred years old, and they really have taken different paths as they move into the twenty first century we caught up with Claire Sudduth. She read the Joe Weber, the editor of Bloomberg BusinessWeek start with you because I'm just thinking so clear to you and says I want to do story on boy scouts and girl scouts, and you say what what's your favorite Gogi Samoa's Samoa. Yeah. That's a good one. Second. He wasn't asked time you. Clinton. That's how I feel about the story is like you you start talking about scouts in general. And we we will spend a little time talking about scouts. But if you talk about girl scouts and we're still in the middle of cookie season. This is big business. And there's this greater controversy that clear starting to tease out a little bit. And whenever you have cookies and a fight over cookies and brands, and what the nature of scouts is it just leads to magical places. And that's what clear was able to tell us about your story. Well, you may have heard that the share of the boy scouts officially lead in girls for the first time for their their original one hundred nine year old program, and that would then make them girl scouts, which the girl. Scouts. Don't like because they have that trademark right? So now, you have a lawsuit where the girl scouts are suing the boy scouts into the article is basically the story of the one hundred year old institutions where they got. To where they are now, and where they're going in the future, which is to court, right, and one of the things prepared that has gotten us to this point is that the girl scouts largely fuelled by that cookie. Business has done exceedingly well as an organization, especially financially the boy scouts not so much. How did they diverge like this? Well, it's funny because they both started by the British Lieutenant General in one thousand nine hundred eight he started boy scouting in the U K. And then it came over to the US a couple years later and a couple of years after that you get the girl scouts in the US. So they have the same origin story. But the boy scouts have always been sort of focused on preparing boys to be young men originally, it was like to prepare them for military duty camping outdoors activities survival techniques that sort of thing in girl scouts have that. But they very quickly moved to other sorts of activities and started funding everything through cookies which. Turn out to be huge business. How big of a business today? They are the second largest cookie seller in the US after only Oreo which is what it brings him. Do we have any kind of idea hard to get they will figure day the figure that gets bandied about a lot is seven hundred million dollars a year. But it's also twenty years old and every girl scout. Yeah. So every girl scout that I've talked to has said if she's been in the program long enough within the past like five years or so everything has moved online. They have an app so you can just download the cookie app. Find your nearest girl scout who's actively selling cookies and just like run down the street and get cooking. So they are selling way more than they used to so into that. So we kind of got into the story clear with your reporting is the identity question of like you end up with these two brands that are doing the same thing. But for basically, two different sexes or genders. And now, there's this brand confusion. How do you think this lawsuits going to play out? Well, when you read the complaint, you see that essentially what has happened as you have all these like local troops and local councils that now have to put out flyers advertising for these new troops. That are going to have girls in them. And some of those fires say girl scouts on now. And it's quite confusing. And I talked to a number of people who said that they they had no idea what troop was what? And what was happening? So I talked to some experts, and they said that they probably be able to change to scouts because it's a generic term. And there was this landmark case with them Nabisco and Kellogg fighting over the term shredded wheat in nineteen thirty eight and right president. So they'll probably be able to change the scouts. But the issue it's going to be over how they phrase it. And, you know, just avoiding the confusion, do I think that there could be an EMMY opportunity within scouts possibly, maybe. Jason, you know, something about that. If you're if you're in a put a hat on. Yeah. Takeover scouts if they did it that way to leverage buyout, right? I mean, they they've got the cookies leverage, although really distressed asset at the end of the day. Yeah. Is it distress scouts chess asset girl scouts have all the cash flow. They need the boy scouts are considering Bankcorp. The actually because they have of lawsuits that they're facing. Fascinating. We need to take this. That's fascinating. Girl scouts have figured out of the model going forward right in terms of revenue and they're also doing programs. It's not just about you know, baking badges anymore. It's about coding and all the Ellen preparing girls kind of for the future and the workforce. Yeah. The the currency of the girl scouts used to work at NASA actually in their Jet Propulsion labs, and then she worked at Dell Apple IBM. So she's really into stand. This girl scouts has taken all this cookie money and created all of these stem badges that's clear end, Joel Webber. I love that story. A lot of twists and turns. And listen cookies, the big business, it's a huge business. And I thought it was fascinating to see how these two different organizations kind of started at the same time, but how they've really taken different paths going forward. And what you've got the scouts. Maybe thinking about bankruptcy and the girl scouts. They're making a lot of money on those cookies. You're listening to Bloomberg BusinessWeek coming up. "Stephanie Stephanie with an I have you met renewed your vows. Now, we won't because divorce when you of course, it does. That's the it's the you're gonna get a divorce. So Stephanie and Travis are going to get into this vow renewal jail and Stephanie chose to wear her actual wedding. It was basically just a wedding. She just wanted to show us that she can still fit in her wedding dress from ten years ago. And I was like fuck off fuck off now one needs to see fit into your wedding dress from your wedding day. It may be angry but walks down the aisle, and he's standing there. And it was it was very bizarre was just like their wedding again. But to yeah. So this is said about that Cameron made only the workmen take their shoes off at her house. Did Did you you notice that like? notice that all the shoes off like I don't know something about that made felt she is a piece of work across? On the road gross. Anyway, that piss me off Stephanie has a wild laugh. I don't think I'd heard Stephanie laughed before. And she was laughing in a way that was wild Jimmy's not meant to laugh. Talk about these about about how Deandra is sullying the good Simmons name. I think Brian was saying this that it's like, no one knows this listener tell me that they are from like around one of these people have and the Simmons name they said, it was real only one person's our she's selling than like, we'll by being drunk it with brandy and public. Yes. And just like I think just being drunk and kind of like and being an sitting in coach, that's really so that. Lianne is me sitting in coach and pretending. She's never been there. Start the airport is where they're not going to splurge. It's like it's one producer with an iphone, and they're going to end that's the footage. You're going. Yeah. Yeah. So they're going to the air. They're checking in and all of the under fifties. Yourselfer news. Your brand are all flying first class carry and the L the prob the helter states, women Lianne and Deandra we we see them both go to the counter and ask how much upgrade is. And they told us twelve hundred day both in separate scenes pretend that they've never flown coach before. And this is the first time, I can't believe I at that moment. I've just never it was like I was transported onto the TV. And I was like. Had this conversation while I was like come up with twelve hundred dollars that you don't have and just get your ass humiliating. So they're playing to Copenhagen. Yeah. That's a long. The only one flying coach both on international flight for twelve hundred dollars fine. I'd said like extra legs. I think Harry said is over eight hours fucking crazy. Older you've get like. I gotta tell you. I last is true. I flew to Montreal recently and upgraded. Not upgrade upgraded. Got the the bulkheads. Yeah. That's brag like the front seat of code and in certain on certain planes that in front of you instead of instead of like a curtain or something it's a wall that goes to actually have less legroom because you can't like stretch out. So you're it's this weird kind of psychological, torture where you're trying to unbend your knee. And you can't and I have long legs. And it was I'm sitting by the window. When I started to go crazy, and I'm watching on the bulkheads screen, which is kind of higher and more prominent than those screens a gay movie called BPM, David French. Yeah. Yeah. It's a French movie about like. Activists in. Oh, no what I'm thinking of another one. Yes. I know you're talking. Yes. And there is some very graphic case. This is on the plane. So I'm watching that like. Spinning out spinning out. And at one point I just had to stretch out. I'm not even flexible, I stretched out both my legs up above my head on the wall with either foot like if I was like in no not to block it because I imagine rejuvenation. Rejuvenation just like both legs up in the air with the screen in between Washington. Saint everyone that plane was scandalised. You know, what I experienced a moment of comfort was the movie. Great great, great little Dallas. You know, we didn't have that much time. We got we got something into..

"But some of them probably went to the good doctors. But it just is like what you're working with. And I'm not willing to take that chance. Math like gonna take. No, I've never done. Anything would you? Oh, yeah. You know what I would do? I would do my eyes because I've always kind of had a little bit of like dark here. Even when I was is. I know I do it's it's okay. It's okay. I mean, I'm fine. No. But I would get like that done. And then, you know, men, they say men, and I know cement who have just done there is because it of just makes you look like awake awake. And with the Shannon. No. I really don't know. What did she do the upper and the lower or just really tell what you honestly, I didn't. But but they have done. I think a lot of this you remove the skin. And then if you want like this too, but I would probably get that done. Maybe I don't know if you know care a little bit more a little bit more anything else to say about see this week. Hold your wife. Shame sucks. Oh, Gina kept going to Shannon. You can call me. I'm just saying you can call me like it was so desperate and satellite. Just call me. Joe? Okay. Thank you. I'm never never thought. I would feel sorry for the other person talking to Shannon, but feeling feelings genus Don can do that we've seen Vicky big escort in a wheelchair shrouded in cloth many times not just because of medical procedures. But that's just like Scholl say it was like there's like writing on. It was like the Milania jackets you playing. Well, if you're trying to be a little inconspicuous like you wear something that's not like blazing with fucking letters. One point when she was laying down. I thought that blue thing on her head was surgery helmet on. It was like what we thought it was like a bike helmet. But like life didn't realize it was more of just like kind of shower cap at first I was like is that a glut like like a plastic helmet? Like I was shocked, but also enjoying it thoroughly. But this was a fun episode was really like you said Taylor Taylor's surgery was a pleasure to watch. And so that was really fun. I thought we back for more. Disappointed real quick. We talk about Dallas. And you haven't watched Al I'll happily listen. Well, we have watched the new US because because it was tonight, but we will report on it next week. But just Dallas we were in the lead up to the Copenhagen trip. This week is the actual I think copen. Yes, exactly. But it was like first of all brandies last week. She said she was like s Nelson dirty twats a kick line. That was impressionable. Yeah. Do we think they'll embarrass? The people of Denmark. Denmark American now will offend me. No, no. Not much more. Can you really do? All right, guys, your cold. I get it. I don't know watching Cameron try and cut an apple. A woman who was never cut an apple tried to cut an apple and it looked difficult for her. She really was struggling with that looks like an alien that is like how do humans? If you're anyways it was uncomfortable. She's insane. Although a moment's I'm watching her, and I'm like, she does kind of like, Nicole Kidman. But like when Nicole Kidman character and character that was like, I got very sick. Have not eaten Burkey Laos's. Joses out of this. It's tough also is going out of town for like a month. Like, why are we going to Harvard fake harbor? I'm sure on weekends. Like, it's going to be fine..

"It was the constant named scrub scrub do you think I'm not on it, obviously. But you wolf someone when you want to send the message. Sippy young and single gay light. I swear I guess my question is is was were Gina and Kelly. There were like we were really concerned about you think Kelly is one of the most honest characters we have no see right now because she really wasn't kind of saying anything. She was like the Gina. It was not as she kept saying I'm doing this Atta concern. Yeah. But it was it was definitely was not true. Yeah. I was just she was trying to make Tam look like an asshole, and it backfired on her because Shannon, and tamra are like codependent shows like I don't care that she was talking shit about the care that you are weirdo. Another moment. That was very sad for me was Tamara's. Mom. And brother trying to force her son to drain rink graduation party. Like just what that family has got like just like a bunch of dirtbags family is pure like California dirtbag, and it has been great. But like, here's their son who's like trying to be better and beyond the straight narrow, and they're like, you've got like the mom who sort of like a like, Shirley MacLean light. Like, just you know and just like come on. You know, it's like he's eighteen I know, and he looks so young. Like, I guarantee when tamra was brother was eighteen. He didn't look that. Like he was road Har. Har Har relationship with hurt with that one versus her older. Son is Ryan the old from her previous life is so fascinating because she's like fawning over him. And he's eighteen is eighteen and she's Ryan pay. Yeah. Millie body is like she was like eighteen when she had Ryan. So those pictures are amazing. By the way, rags to riches that one. I mean, let's say the American dream, really. I think that that was a rough go. Yeah, family. I think there was some tough times watching her mom RJ get after kale art link to seventy and I was like, oh, no growing up in that house was not she was fully, Amy Poehler and mean girls. Not even. Pray for that. And so great another another, great example of face yank. Oh, Temir looks great. I've always just been smitten had really have Phoenix limbs her face of amazing. Vicki to me. And I don't like I feel like after his acting really. I don't care as much. I do because I'm also I'm still vein like about very good. I always think about thank you. I always think about plastic surgery. Like, if you if you're those girls, don't you go like, I'm gonna go to like, don't you just go and everyone should be like go to Michelle fibers person. Like, don't you just be like, I have to look like that good people come out on the crazy that I wonder if it's a thing where like you have to have the bones, and you have to have Fisken's or whatever so tamra as started earlier and be like just has the face for it just had the structure and Vicky from day one like she she's she she had like a tumor in her head and all those teaching from her doctors about they go in and they're like all the scar tissue. Like, you know, it's a matinee open at on. He's trying to re. We do the foundation. Yeah. Well, she did say a face of his great. It just makes you look like you did twenty years ago. It's like, no, Honey. No, no, no, no. Honey, you look older like Vicki's facelift serve. I got it right for a minute there. And then she went back in in these testimonies shoes pretty good, but those are lit really, well when you really saw was when they're on that luge thing, and they have a camera in front of them screaming. That's when you can like, oh, this is an unnatural. And I say that someone who again fully gonna Tamraz doctor. But I don't think because I think if that were the case like all these rich women in Beverly Hills, all these famous women would have gotten this great rating. Right. They didn't like like what happened some of them have doctors..

"And not give your wife any love that. That's a big thing. She's looking to this box. Yeah. To not just be there with her at that moment and be like, sweetie. Like, my I'm heartbroken were here. Like, we love each other like this. We will mourn these babies, and we will remember these two not to be there about hold that with even if you are an unfeeling piece of shit. Yeah. To not even have the wherewithal to go. Fuck this is a this. This is being filmed, and this is isn't emotional moment. And I'm going to look like a piece of shit. He didn't even care anything. And I was like that's the problem. Also, the fact that he wore those shorts shorts to that therapy session. I found offense. He's a pig. Yeah. He's just casually into that therapy session. I'm sorry. Like put on a pant like your sweats like Emily's dressed for the occasion, more serious about this. And he literally looks like he just like woke up and like put on some boxers like therapist gives her some tough love. And it's like, I think step one is grieve and is leave this fucking asshole. He is the worst. And she's great. I really like he's really, I don't know. I think she's my favorite house is. But I think she's a great person. When the Casey last week saying she looks at Kelly brook O rien lakes is Ryan on interesting gorgeous. Yeah, gorgeous. And she's smart. She's a good mother. She's been through shitting her childhood, and is trying to not repeat patterns like I'm so impressed by who. She is a person to be with such a terrible husband is upsetting. Most of the women with terrible husbands. You're like, yes. They get that husband like, I get why they're with that has been like, I think that has been terrible. But this were like, Shannon, David Madora. I got why that I got it. What from Asia other was terrible. But I got this. I do not get and the fact that his marriage impressed -posedly hadn't even been on days. Like, you wanna get married and she was like, yes. Like what get out of their girl? Maybe she'll call in. To let you know. Left it now. Than Shannon with her black eyes. Sitting in that bad talking to Gina and Kelly. What do you teach? She was talking now you. Yeah. Gina. I just want her to know an accent does not a personality. Make do you know what I'm saying? And it's fine. If you accents are great in their charming. The flavor now pass them, I don't know. I know like like Latina, and like a little bit more rough around the I feel like they do the it's a different version of sort of like, you know, to see like not like Dallas to me is a little bit like little like Beverly it's the Beverly Hills of Texas. That's what no one says. Faye? There you guys and I have heard things so especially as a Texan yourself. I know I know it's weird. Did you ever watch Miami? I watched a little bit of Miami. Okay. I'm just curious. Yeah. I was I was intrigued for a minute. Yeah. Even I didn't I can't really ever some you can't tell why or doesn't from Florida and I did not watch Miami. Thing. It's Ritz too close to home literally too close to home. I'm not close to home the guys. This was a fun episode. Yeah. A while to get there. But here we are on the DVR description. Thank you. Thank you. Now Vicki's reason for getting a facelift her third or fourth correct? Was she does I'm getting my face lift now because I don't know how long I'm gonna live. I was like wait what like my head just like spun around and show. So just said, I'm insecure. I am I know I just want to keep yanking it and pull it, and I was like I feel that. Yeah. You said I'm insecure as if she was admitting something that we didn't. That's why we're here. Every like I've never seen as Diane used to say about Vicki and still probably does is that like she is living out loud. He is living. She's an open wound that we are faced that we have to face everyday and look out and watch seep and us and us. Gosh June-end in this. I'm putting this on but just living out loud. Or no way that is so unattractive nothing. Like like, just like literally just a beast. Unlike we're watching it, and she also doesn't seem to know herself. So that when she says something ten years after we already knew it is mean almost was like when they when she was in her her bandages and stuff, and they had the dot it looked like like tears of. What you're saying is like it's kind of like the theme of slowed the doctor did that just for fun. Yeah. Both of them post surgery. Just so childlike and innocent when they're in the like the like afterglow of the drugs, just so helpless, Deering, Shannon, set a statement that I will how I sent rivals. Any heartbreaking like rivals like the glass menagerie like moments of true heartbreak in like the great works of our time. And this is the statement in a perfect world. I would have a partner waiting for me after the surgery putting his arm around me telling me everything is going to be. All right. Absolutely. But you know, what I have a driver. And so and the kids are waiting for me when I get home, and that's all I could ask for right now. Oh. You know, what driver? I have a driver a bad thing. No. I mean, I know. But that was it was pretty that's Israel's again. And then that night we learned later in the middle of the night hurt I blow Burston. Chance. What part of their island is like, no, my I. In the middle of the high yourself, and you wake up in your is your eyeball. You're all kinds of top on loan. Yeah. And yeah. And you start crying blood go. My god. That's the book. Biblical. "I think she's having a girl. No, she having a boy, she had this crazy gender reveal party that was Nanas and someone captured it on like their phone. And I of course, watched make it was broken up. I'm like hidden camera. And I was like, ooh is my favorite show. God forget if it was a boy or a girl, but it was a gender reveal sort of deal. We get see that. What I what is? So crazy is like port ne-near feels like she's having a very serious. Although I have to say when she was doing her. She was talking about Greg. And then she said something happened on Cinco. It was very serious. He said she had happened on Cinco de Maya. That was. Again, any. Because I like I do hope through and I hope everything's okay. You know, like here's a question though. Why does she keep dragging him places? Like, he's pushing AMI say go to your show. Yeah. Wait for two days. And that Greg stay aren't. It seems like there we're going to have a moment on the season at some point where he's sitting outside and event. Yeah. In my I think it's like mega week. He's just taking a break. He's just like I just want out. I'm just let me go home 'cause member last year he was had just had a heart attack. And she was like, I'm having a party. In bed already downstairs, and I do believe she loves him. It's not does night though. Yeah. She's just like life goes on. And like, yes, I think it's her way of not if I may psychoanalyze sure look, it's her way of just not dealing with it. It's like the events must go on I must I still have to do it. And by keeping on keeping on you kind of don't really deal with it sort of admitted to this week just keep going, but she's exhausting like let him you keep on MAC home. You Don, Craig if things get seriously, you're obviously, you're there. But like let let Greg have peace. Thank thank you. Greg. Thank you. You know, just to have sometimes you have to stick up for the people. And then there's Cynthia Cynthia bible, by the way, when she was pouring that wine and putting those grapes in there. I really wasn't mad at her for that. Just delicious. Yeah. Known this. We looked where they frozen grain Rayleigh instead of ice cubes. You put a frozen it looked like broad daylight. She was just having a phone call who wouldn't want to vinyl lake three hours where. Where is that house? We're in in Alabama. Far away. When I was in Atlanta this summer, and I was talking to people that had worked. I think one of my hairdressers had like no new people who knew people, and she was like she lives far out like she is not even lows city. Like, she is like she she really has to have a driver, right? Yeah. Or just it looks like a lovely house lake bail. It's gorgeous. But it is is it is really really believe it's hours from everybody else in I've leave at night. She's just sitting there like. Sort of Donna Shing, and I love Cindy, I do because she's like a nice. She's a nice house from his. Like you need those. But it is Tana Shing that she's on the show every year because she's sort of like doesn't really ever do much really ever get and then Kenya's gone. Does she have without Kenya? Because she has sort of been Cindy's role has been to take a bigger character, a bigger personality, and sort of suck up to them. Right. And then like she sort of switched allegiances along the way. And that was and. Yeah that Kenya's not there, and I do feel her presence missed Kenya. So far does seem like a model conflict is coming down the pipe between Eva. Cynthia wasn't gotta shading cynthia's human-like model a model conflict like just like a very like a good example of concept using a model. One of that out because it's true. Yeah. She is she really surely shaded her twenty years older. I'd love to find out where Mike hill is a sportscaster newscaster. He's he's here. He's here. Sports something like that. Oh shocking that I don't know where that especially with all your baseball reference..

We will talk about it but land just feels fun and frothy and light you'll like winning the house. God. Businesses like, oh, we're back. We're having fun laughing. People are actually funny people are actually smart people. I put even perfect amount. I will say Porsche she's dumb. But she's so funny that she's got to be smart. She is like living in she's like the girl in like the rom calm like before she hits her head like fucking crazy. I'm in love for all the wrong reasons. She literally said he he told me he loved me. Like the first night we met him like that's not. That's a terrible. Red run. Yeah. But I love her for it. But she's so fucking funny. What her quota the pockets to me was let me find it? She said she's I should have kept these little titties. At least she's these big titties don't do anything. But sweat. Just endlessly quotable God my right that he is a hot dog magnate. I don't know what he does. I guess he. But he does. It's a hot dog chain. Yes. Which and she said dogs are very American. It looks like yet a hot dog food cart truck food truck. Yeah. Yeah. But apparently, it's more than just I mean, they were liking. Yeah. The side sympa said hot dog. In the sense. He. Yeah. Quote, Bush that I is in her her tag where she says, I took a lot of left turns. And now everything is right. And like, she if you take four left turns your in a giant circle. Going the other way, she's. Tale. Love her a love her clothes. I love what she was in tiny like full peace bay, full body, bathing suit. Oh, yeah. With the tide. Hi, was laughing. I was growing. Like when she was calling candy to go to that to go to Miami. Again, where are they going? All right. They went to Miami to comedy show that's going to be and when she was called candy, and then she was like hit, and she was not expecting to pick up and then Katie picked up and she was like, hey, and then she takes a big bite of her south. Had to gather Sosa just starts like eating. Mainly took a shot before every phone call. Let's be blacked out to even have this conversation wall. Endings ring back tone her own. That's was weird. So she, but she did she answer. No win it rings most of us when our phones rang. Yeah candies is like a song. I remember this past season. I don't believe she's changed established. This is where it's like Ling. Call. What it is all their favorite song. What it is one of your favorite songs? You just can't remember leg. That's right. I've heard it before like I knew the tune danced. Also, I was thinking there was a new reality show of their in Atlanta this week. And it's just Don Juan, you know, candies. Handler manager manager. Yeah. And major has never watched my baby. Can you imagine now, but my, but I just wanna see him and ace, and that's the reality show baby as Don and the sort of like, their comings and goings, right? Like this of Manny. Good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm in. I'm in for it. Yeah. Yeah. Play in that. So find her way, and I know any did you guys have any big thoughts of this opening episode of at obviously Porsches gonna crash and burn. Inflation also funny to on this on the Atlantic. Because it's always like when someone like a new man as traduced they're like, oh, have you met? Oh, we know. And I'm like, I guess it's like, well, they fucked or someone they know or candy knows something about something. This is parallel. Storyline of Tom luanne? And that's in a different franchise. Yeah. Great great not knocking the writing in. Right. Nothing. Works. You go is that right? Reading anything original. Started. There's only three stories we're retelling them over and over again. This happens to be one of them is like someone's dating a red flag girls is with Cynthia last year yet her. They were. Yeah. Eva was right about that. Right now. She's dating another guy but Porsche is now pregnant with the hotdog kings, baby. Right. She is not giving birth yet..

"When myself. In times of trouble. Breaking now on the Mike Gallagher show. Of course, Dianne Feinstein as the Washington Examiner reports her big announcement about Brett cabin on the FBI, smells, like a political stunt either she has the goods on supreme court nominee, Brad Kavanagh or she's gone full Harry Reid Beckett Adams over at Washington Examiner. Writes, my money is on the ladder. The ranking member of the Senate Judiciary committee released released a tortuously cryptic statement, claiming her office has referred a cavenaugh related matter to federal law enforcement officials, and it's just a bizarre story because it secret it's anonymous it's from cavenaugh when he was in high school decades ago. And it's it's bizarre. It's bizarre. The F B I has that it referred to them for investigation. The FBI is position as well. This isn't in our jurisdiction. We'll we'll add it to the file. They don't know what else to say. It's a mess. There's also a lot of people who are literally. You know, hanging on for their lives about one hundred and fifty people right now are waiting to be evacuated in the Carolinas. We talked about this a lot this week people who refused to leave. They don't evacuate and then they got to wait for the rescuers to come hundreds of people awaiting rescue from their homes. New Bern police. Lieutenant David Daniels said earlier today were estimating we've rescued one hundred and fifty to two hundred people he estimates. An additional one hundred fifty to two hundred people are waiting to be rescued this enormously frustrating. Let's wet welcome back who are go-to guy. He's been with us all this week. He's weather bell. Analytics chief meteorologist job is starting. Of course, former long range forecaster for from from AccuWeather, and I love the fact that he's the author of the climate chronicles inconvenient revelations. You won't hear from Al Gore and others a tremendous take before we get into any of this stuff. Let's welcome in. I'm back. He's on Skype as well. If you wanna watch our interview with him, but Mike online dot com. Just click watch Mike on TV and you'll be able to see my interview with with Joe as well as listen to it on the radio. Joe this is inevitable cycle with a big storm like this. The authorities say get out people sat on want to get out. And then of course, they need to be rescued. It's I mean, you're a pretty opinionated guy. What's your what's your perspective on people who refused to leave? And then put first responders in harm's way when they have to go get him out. Big rig. Above your paygrade is I there are a lot of things in the world you ever see the movie no country for old men. Where he says. Thinks I can't understand going on today you'd have to become part of that world. And I don't want to become part of that. It's a lot of things that are going on. It seems like we've taken all the blessings we'd had and we've got them and we've just take him to such extremes. You know, you get all this technology reporting. Or you say you got this. You got that you got a political position. You just off to the one-sided another one blows to the we go. This is like. Regular rainy day in New Orleans. Don't like do you have any idea? What's going on? In fact, speaking to that. I can I can remember coming home Katrina at three in the afternoon and someone say, well, it wasn't as bad as we thought. It was having no idea what was going on in other parts of New Orleans when this storm is seven done. Let's put this in perspective. It's been over fifty five years since we've had a wind gusts this strong at Wilmington North Carolina, which says a lot about about the hurricanes were in the fifties down. We just had the second. Highest wind gust on record in Wilmington Wilmington is a pretty darn old city. Right. We didn't measuring the weather a long time around Wilmington and that win came from the north northeast, which means it didn't come from off the ocean. It came from all land that indicates that there probably have been one hundred twenty to one hundred and thirty mile an hour. Wind gusts on the beaches with this because if you get that big Agust inland and the amount of rain, that's falling. And plus lo and behold, it's turned south south westward. It is located right now over Carolina beach. In fact, there's a naval I got this close up bat. Mike record just some kind of naval depot than watching which is on the west side. I believe it's the Cape. Fear river on the west side of the river and near wind is straight out of the north still. So this is start is drifting down the coast. And you asked me where it was going to be two o'clock today. And I think it might be ten miles away position. I gave you yesterday. Sorry about that. That's pretty good. I'm gonna tell you. That's your your your ass. Good is as advertised by this. The problem, though, is that I thought it would continue even further south down because the forecast that I had taken down toward Charleston is wrong for tomorrow. And the next step that being said this this jog to the south and then south west south west this increases the danger for Myrtle Beach because y'all. Well, look at the beach. Yeah. The wind's blowing the northwest at Myrtle Beach now, and there's no ocean northwestern, Myrtle Beach. The problem is if this thing comes under Bertel beach, and then goes in ten fifteen miles south of where does your win term turns in off the ocean. They've had by that time have a foot or two of rain, you know, that Myrtle Beach area, the intercoastal waterway behind their everything. Draining in the water can't get out because of surge you're looking at that entire area going underwater with this. So that's a that's a that is a huge huge forecast headache, it only take ten to fifteen miles shift in that trap too much of the grain strain in real bad shape over here. So that's an nets forecast challenge, by the way. Do you notice? Also, how the storm tightened up coming to land. And that's because that's because the subway explaining I'm sorry. I get animated like this. I love I love it. Keep it up. What happens is the way the coast was shape. It's shaped like a storm comes in. It doesn't want to go inland. So the band start trying to contract with the stormcenter as they they're coming in. And so you see that tightening up it happens when storms come at perpendicular angles when they're coming like this. Okay. I got you. All right. Let me let me get you motivated animated about another thing. We were talking about this a few minutes ago again, maybe out of your pay grade. Maybe you don't want to weigh in on this. And this is a little bit off the off of our beaten path with what we're talking about. But it also is what people are talking about last night. Turn on the TV I shall reporters literally their arm. Locked around a telephone pole ad standing in front of raging waters right behind them. And it's like they're hanging onto the telephone is that they let go they're going to get swept away in the floods. And I'm thinking, you know, I guess this makes good TV. It seems to me to be pretty crazy with the technology. We have we have drones. We have man Kam. Mera's you could put a camera out in the conditions is do these guys do the networks is their mindset. Well, it makes for good TV. And it's great. It's well rated if we have somebody putting his life on the line hanging onto a pole like a like a Wylie Coyote cartoon because he's gonna get dripped onto swept away by the storms. Or is it is it just stupidity to see the way these guys cover these hurricanes with these live shots, stay life. I mean, we're we're conservative libertarian types. Right. So could do to wall. We also get the reality away we want. We can also respond. The funny thing is by buddy Mark Sudduth over hurricane track. He gets his stuff puts cameras up all over the place and any generally settles himself into a safe position econ way to do it. That's the do it. Yeah. That's what people were saying to me when they were calling me. Maybe these TV stations should hire more. I don't know because Mark doing this for years, and he's got a big following. I certainly follow him. So, but, but you know, what these these are these situations where you know, if it's your life, and that's your value that one TV shot, or whatever, you know. Do you wanna do it? I guess I guess all right. Let's go twelve hours twenty four hours. I always like asking you about the next day or two a lot of people in the Carolinas Georgia the east coast listening to us right now. What do you see happening with Lawrence tomorrow at this time? It's to be very close to Myrtle Beach, originally, the past two days, I thought it'd be just south eastern, Myrtle Beach. I'm not so sure now. Because the modeling that I was following switched in right now. I think it's gonna be just these through southeastern Myrtle Beach tomorrow morning, twelve hours from now, I think it'll be just south of the North Carolina coast to the south southwest the Wilmington. All right. So I think that's where it's going to be a big back out over the water, again, not that that's going to make any difference.
