"And this is risk on where we talk about risk the market just close to Jason. Let's see if we can update the mark. People on the numbers was interesting week. We kind of melted up a little bit. Had a big weekend ammo. We had a lot to talk about the Queen's husband died DMX passed away. Um Biden's job owning guns. That's not going to well and baseball started. Baseball started and Jason Okay, let me get excited. Here. Hold on, Jason. What a day yesterday for Jason, six and so on The parlays. Holy smokes, Jason. That was a monster day for you. Yeah, we, Toledo. We got a little I don't know where you You got some juice yesterday. So funny. I noticed. I couldn't tell on days when we're gonna win. You had massive Majak. I place these bets. These what we're gonna do. You're all confident and you killed it. You killed it. You know, sometimes when you see a stock, or you say, you know, you're gonna make money. Yeah, Like you say, Hey, that's not right. There's something wrong in the marketplace. There's an inefficient price in the stock and inefficient price in the baseball when we when we saw the price power it five bucks. Yeah, we we look up. We like our chips over But we moved our chips and 20 100,000 shares. That's a long way We went in there. 4.5 Million issue, give or take, And we're looking at the cover. You crushed you yesterday? I mean, you crushed it. On baseball, this guy and it's all it collected to your ankle pain attention to like little I could get a money line. That's a little better. Yeah, It's so funny. I talk to people that you like the most complicated stuff. Like their brain. Surgeons are doctors that I know and they're like God. How do you pick that stock? I'm like, dude, How do you cut someone's head? Open? Exactly. Come on. I don't know if you bet on baseball seems like you, you You know what you're doing? It's just eight days. I think you tripled your money. Well, we've got the data right here. Yes. So I had some. I had 12 $100 bills in my front pocket on April 1st, which was April Fools Day, and I went made some bets. I said, Let's start. No fool in here, man. We're gonna go blue collar. We're gonna grind it out. We're going to show the people that everyday Americans can go out and make baseball plays and make supplementary income And that's what we're trying to prove. Here. Yeah. Hey, we're not recommending betting anything like that. We're not promise you anything there are no I repeat for the YouTube algorithm. There are no guarantees. You'll make money but in risk on We try to point out how we make money and Jason So for the listeners that our first hearing about this on the radio because this is the first time we've been able to talk about sports, right? Yeah. Risk on sports. We're gonna do a 20 minute show noon Pacific time and specific time. Yeah. Monday through Friday Monday through Friday might even do some weekend stuff. If I do that week, you and I like on the YouTube. If I do the weekend stuff, it'll be just a quick pop in just to tell people what You know what it looks like on the day what we're looking at, But you know, we've played eight days of baseball and the great thing about baseball. Unlike like football and other sports, there's every day. There's there's games. So currently we are 1918 in the straight bets, and we're now this is interesting. And I gotta make this has got this. Really? And this is really important. Understand? It. Was you on the radio. Listen. We saying he bet he was 1 19 games and lost 18. And then how many parties have you lost? We've lost 13 parlay and only 18 parlays, But you're up massively, But think about it. You have a loo winning losing record that way and be up. Because because baseball you bet on the money lines. Okay, what That means is Generally in other sports When you make a wager when you pick a team, it's usually like minus 1 10 like, say, Vegas, says this a Dallas Cowboys versus the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Are giving up six points to the Cowboys. That means the Steelers must win by at least 67 points in order to cash the ticket. Well in baseball. It's different. You bet, though, the lines are constructed with money lines. So like, for example, today, there's one game active right now. I just want to cover this for the folks. This is important. So there's one game that we're looking at. Right now. It's the New York Yankees at the Tampa Bay Rays. And if you were to Make a wager on that game. The New York Yankees were the favorite. They were actually Let me get this here. I don't want to tell you wrong. All right. The New York Yankees. Me change the date here. Bear with me one second. Cory Clubber against Rich Hill. And for some reason, that's not giving me the line here. Anyhow, the New York Yankees were the favorite, and you would have to bet Certain like if if the New York Yankees were minus 1 80, you would literally have to lay $180 in order to win $100. So that's where these records come into play. They can be skewed. You can look and say, Hey, listen, um This is kind of weird. You've only you've you've lost 18 games and you've only 1 19 games, but you're up a good amount of money. On. Actually today, the Yankees were favorite at minus 1 30. So you would have to wait your 1 30 to win 100, then with the parlays that simply just grouping a few games together. In order to get increased odds. So that's why we're up money. In fact, we're eight wins. 13 losses on the parlays where 19 wins 18 losses on the single bets. But with the $1200 starting bankroll were up $2215 in the first eight days of baseball in our working bankroll, Now we just add it right to the bankroll is $3415. So that'll give you an idea of your rolling rolling. Yes. Hey, there's no guarantee you'll get the same results, However, uh, Jason and I have a little risk on sports going on. We'll talk about that..

"We got got a snowman celebrity. Chat he let's say watch as we have formed those time in Eh jeff what's with the steelers pies lightly. You need your own shot. I'll handle the first part i The steelers all these. I'm guessing you're saying that people at pro days that are just there and all these things that they're all these guys This is their depth. This is a lot of players. They're going after that. Were two thousand and twenty would have been undrafted free agents but they really get a shot. There was no rookie minicamp. So these days are kind of like guys showing. They deserve a shot. Another look and the steelers are signing them. don't take these contracts seriously as valuable as a futures contract if these guys aren't on the roster week one they will never see a game check There's probably a doubt there's any signing bonus involved and i these guys get access to the facility access to the steelers to to for us to give medical evaluations on them. Coach them up. Ceo mark inside the building Some of them may be cut before we even hit training. Camp other ones may stick it through training camps on them. A chance to to make the roster. This is like rookie. Minicamp signings this. This is kind of level. They're getting an early look. Guys that got that got passed over last year just because the situation That's what most of this is to me. for the second part you need your own show Let me let me just say. There's a reason a lot of the shows. I'm on start late. Mark had one hundred down day. I'd forgotten about feet on the show And he was like i. I opened the slack. After we started talking. I saw there was all these messages to maybe like. Dude come on where are you. Hey i'm looking for you. But he finally got hold of me here. i am But but it'd be having my own show one of its that that doesn't bode the best for me having a show that i have to be on myself If you notice all the shows on someone else runs it also so that makes it easy for me. I was almost going guy solid today. Because i didn't know exactly what you were doing. Text you gotta Thankful to have you eat in absence But again i i actually found out you. Can you can cole on slack. And has the technology today united. Say's i'm pretty sure it was you because then also with the final note on the on the screen as well and we're we're still you know so far away. It's almost coming to launch tommy on you're probably Eight o'clock and potting people having dinners and gonna restaurants and stuff. And i've got to stop loss sunday. So we're gonna start robert destroy now and it's been an awesome show. I just wanted to focus around the theme of things in cotija Lastly jeff what are your final thoughts on the steelers. In heading into the i guess the new phase of the steelers bins going to be here for a little bit but going to happen. What are your thoughts and are we roll culture good. the culture is going to be good. I think especially when you see the white people are talking the steelers right now. Especially the young. The young draftees all these people. The steelers are placed. People wanna play right now. So that is a great sign for the steelers culture. Mac canada's apparently impressing these college kids a college offensive players like ooh. That'd be fun to play for the steelers. And that's because they're seeing a little bit of what the what they wanna do. The thing for this year especially and into the end of the future is how much of matt canada's offense. Can they get installed. Can they get running and get executing of a high enough level to work in the nfl. That's the big question. And how long does that take. Are we going to see this year. Where you elements of that take off and all of a sudden the steelers are doing stuff that the chiefs were doing right Or is this a season where it just looks bad. Where you're like. You're seeing what they're trying to do but it's just not working and it's not working and it could be that some of the aspects of canada's offense that will work in the nfl will not work with ben rothlisberger and they'll have to make it work. They'll have to find ways to to to make the offense work in spite of that Just like there are some elements of today's game like you. You wouldn't ask peyton manning to do like there. Are things that the chiefs do that. The tampa bay buccaneers can't ask tom brady to do. And that's just a fact right. So there's there's certain things. Ben rothlisberger is going to be able to do. There's other things he will be able to do but he has to learn it well enough to execute it His way right and That's the big question is how much of this can they get going. How fast can they transition or is this a multiyear transition. That's going to take some new players. Yeah one hundred percents pretty much saying we're not going to run out of the guys try to why we're not gonna get i in points I in russia pods buck needs to be progressive. Needs to be for me and gm the guys start. Wrap it up We just need better the running time. We need that offense. Will you know we can. School seven points cannot drive. we can wasteful five minutes. Back and forth game of ping-pong needs something This takes a few times and canada's in that we don't expect him to go in there and be the best offense even with big ben and the some of the guys around that we like industry we just need something we just. We just need something and as fans. We need that guys. I'm going to wrap it up on a thank Jeff for coming in on late notice surprised him twice succumbing to the show. I believe Many will be back next week. I'm actually out next week. I'm going to a competition to buy some thicker bowl win and do the steelers proud. But i appreciate everyone in the live chat. Thanks the attorney was always always forty five people stride away and we can talk. Cow steel is football. It's awesome. I really want to talk about the culture. We did that. We accomplish that because the drive. You know there's going to be more shows the draft coming in the future Who knows who. We're going to get as long as we don't get a ponta guys. I still like berry. Sorry sorry check with all right. Guys see guys lied..

"We lost two in the playoffs. But that was your first wayne thirty something years. The bengals still haven't been to the playoffs. I believe in thirty one years. They haven't won suitable. They haven't done anything. I'm glad when i was young going like ten. Eleven chose the steelers based on color alone. I didn't have any idea who they were. I love the game. Grew with the guy. And i'm glad i wasn't a fan of orange because cherry the bengals on the browns and there's something of me now the garden every day i hate the bengals more and more and for as long as i live to one hundred and thirty three. I wanna see the bengals in the playoffs. I don't wanna see the win ball. That would be just so happy. You know why. I love that stat law where we haven't won ten games or eleven games in a row and then we lost it a love. Saying that's like that i love saint stats like with the sacco's and things of that nature With the bengals. Least what's capable of the playoffs and that's a funny thing like semi teams along the lines and stuff going every day. They try and do something and get into the pilots and that continues to straight so we got some questions. I ten ten minutes left depending. How much Tommy heavy snow man says ways many so many Regressive day off do not face. I'm alright so he's asked for a diocese he's busy tanah kangaroos and getting them all sit on the fahmi. So he's he's doing that This one from port novel assault before the lodge chat and hopefully get some. Some steel wants to now industry mighty we have Sorry jeff we have the nro and may mattia both siegel fans The revenues for one and the segel's a one him full now of this very nice. We're going through a funny thing with the nra. On siegel's baked they have a bit of the brown amendment to see was a great shame on but this this season the one full a good team but that is not coach well enough yet to just. Something's missing guys. So yeah me. And mattie mainly seagulls right now we just want them to try to do better not not as bad as as a franchise as a browns go. These this chat does does get very fast. I got one here from llamas to help me out. I don't know if this is what i have. No idea to be honest is it. Have you heard that before. It's like a troll under the bridge. I do not know what that is yet. Lumberjack ninety four. I think i think that may be a troll under the under the bridge. I i don not Could be also industry. That could be taibbi. This one's for you because nothing about the job. We have from facebook and also love facebook listeners. From jeff jeff. Who do you have it number. One we got you know. Seventeen days left here number one or number one pick give me i would love to see like humphrey there i know people think he's a second rounder But i'd take him yet. he's a good one. I take zaven caltech. I'll take defensive players to saving collins. I i'm i'm one of those guys. Let me see the steelers get and then let me tell you why they got him. That's kind of. That's kind of my angle is. I like to see whether that tells us about the steelers and what that tells us about the team the next year because they usually pick better than me so my first round picks aren't as good as theirs. Familiar of zero. I d i do enjoy actually a a really do. Nfo fan and as growing up. I really do enjoy watching the draft and my mates here in australia like. Why are you watching the dropped. It goes for three days. But i'm like it's fun. It's so fun to see. The young bugs have an opportunity and a chance and they might be from florida next minute. Go on to detroit. That ghana green bay. And that's the that's the career. So it's always fun to say with these guys land but the santa i'm i couldn't tell you off their names and but but when they do we do good drafting feeling we drop. Someone was the first thing you do when when someone gets dropped would he do. I look up. I look them up. I'm like who. Is this guy unless someone i've expected like there's some there's some. There's some that. I expected like most first round picks i know but like oh yeah when they draft devon bush though i called my sister and because i'm a university of michigan fan and i was just like oh i'd love for them to devin bush but there's no way they'll be able to get him and then when they traded up i was like oh my goodness sister.

"More depth And i think you see our defensive line. Look at how much depth we have on that defensive line. We used we have. We talked about the main three being a hayward in alalu but behind them. You got bugs. You've got carlos davis you've got henry mondo you've got chris warmly you've got. They are seven deep at defensive line. And they play to three each play. They're going to rotate. They're going to have to they're going to have to rotate a more. Safe cameron and stuff onto it snaps. So that they can play later in the season and you have a better chance of them being healthy and less wear and that seems like a good cool saving people as because the books have now been into the steelers for two or three years and if another big face like you know you still has a system. And he's gonna you're to be in that Rotation even back to us. I don't remember the pirates of the worthily. Eagles bronner the eagles. Too dissimilar thing what i would have four day in three come in always rotation of big guys up front. And that's definitely what the steelers laid with those guys and it doesn't matter if they know the face of the franchise if they can they can hope ma- making big pie. Monday did tackles but look. We don't know who we use what we watch we might do something fantastic and a fumble and if you get those guys really trump bitten one of the pie for today steel including plice than the front guys like hulk united. If you phone go. I think schools are all that's great but hitting into Simply the offense that now. We'll we'll canada if ask what you said before excelling and doing everything right. We'll count it up. Put the score up. Will he keeps going points and not stop that mentality. That's hard to. That's hard to say what the points. I hope so. I really do hope so but but even even more than that you have to control the ball you. You have to have long drives. You've got to keep the defense field. You've got to keep their defense on the field. Get keep their offense. You know off the field get them out of rhythm be able to break momentum because one of the things you saw with randy fichtner as if the other team got momentum going it was like well this is over like they're just gonna keep going there. It's going to keep your waiting for the defense to make a play know even at the end of games. We're at the end of the games in steeler fans are expecting okay. The defense needs. There's five minutes left in the game. The defense is going to need to make two drives. They're gonna to have to defend two drives and five minutes. Well what about the offense like in the offense offense that tastes control and says okay. Actually no we're going to run a five minute drive and the games is going to end early in the season. The steelers were doing their the steelers. Were driving the ball ending the game and they were winning late in the season seals would have to see there was a game steelers had three drives in the last six minutes and he's drive was under was like thirty seconds and the other team would get to drive. Defense would stop back and then right back in the defense okay. You're off the field to get back on their. Get right back out there That that can't be the case. You can't win like that. You can't come back if you're down and you can't keep a lead So the offense really establishing that identity is going to be a huge deal to just be able to do what you need to do to win whether that's you know obviously scoring points big part of that but also just being able to control the game set the tempo for the game and make the other team try to break your momentum not agree with as well but really wanted to. We're running out of the this guy super fast When you're hanging upside down now one of the house. She did question. And i'm not too sure. What responsible get but with the steelers episode team do you think is in the white. The patriots were in the why the steelers for a long time well. Nfl team do you think the way of the steelers in achieving the seven from body questions off the team is in the way right now one. That's tough is the ravens last last season. They had a lot of injuries. That a lot of covert issues a lot of stuff go on and they were still our biggest opponent For for for winning the division getting into the playoffs and doing something so there they are always as a division rival the ravens and they looked good again this year. They're going to be that first team in the way after that. Yeah you have to deal with the chiefs you have to deal with the chiefs at some point and that offense offense is crazy. I don't think. I don't think they are going to be as good as people thought they were going to be. I think there's more problems with that teens. And just you know the offensive line being hurt last season. Teams are starting to figure out andy reid and patrick mahomes and there will be better answers for them. There won't be solutions. They they're not going to solve. Patrick mahomes in that offense but they're going to have better answers for it and better counters for it I think the steelers are actually really well. Built to face them. If they're healthy if the steelers are healthy so for me. It's it's ravens number. One cheats number two fake. Oh i agree. I think ravens are always since been watching the steelers. They've always been number one number two the other two teams. Uk's about him. I guess the bengals known case. The browns doesn't title doesn't matter like with me in the browns Yet they always have a great team and they're gonna. They're beaten up the dallas cowboys. They're gonna win. You know they're gonna win the super bowl but then again at night. They're going to do this and they never did. Never shave anything The browns have a superstar team. Fantastic come to film abate you. We did remind feel dan..

"Touch dan on data jeffey. We actually have maddie's out. Today is in the paddocks wrangling kangaroos. Little bit too busy jeff. Jeff might hasn't gone what's what's going on. You're you're almost like third astray now really. I'm on if i get honorary australian status. I'll do this all the time you know. I still stew with the idea around the tweets like. That's something. I didn't think. American anything about and fruitful the listeners. Out there you to block off woke might run Round the twist Offshore that would have We'd australian universities and some of it was a bit scary. That was one little bit. Where folks with hanging upside down and that was in the app house or the donny. And that scared. The living daylights out of these kids in the kids had investigated it was. It was all quite strange. And when you're twelve years old watching this show econo- think back that shouldn't be in the show so But yet shopping today today. So you know who who go launch any. You got llamas quite a few now. I love when this show stops. Jeff i don't know that when you the your shot as well as show forty six forty four people come into lacek and we're ready to talk. steelers football. So we have chad. john jeff whereas taller mark yes mark. I do live in australia. But where do you live. I live in. I live just north of pittsburgh yet. So he's pretty pretty far from australia and also it's not it's not an we're on raw from now so and i believe what is there jeff. Over in america it is seven. Pm seven pm so yet this fourteen hour. Difference of fanny. Yeah so like today. Show is one cracking and get Geoff garin things. Where the steel is like franchisee seating may and mattie talked about the loss week And like the big drought going. I think we've been talking about the draft almost a year now so jeff with with the steelers like in the title of shopping today which play will step up. Twenty twenty one and show steeler fan. Look you must often. Everyone launch at the standard is the standard. So who who's going to step up Through offense at defense and special teams. And i'll give you take off your take as well. So firstly who's that guy and can be can be a draft pick. It can be bent. It maybe be counter. Here's the gone offense that's gonna be that's gonna lead the team to to get some wins all coaches possible. Who's gone offense while you brought coach into it so that that makes it easier for me. It's mad canada. I've i've kind of said this a few times. I don't know if i'm at the at the beating a dead horse stage jet of this one but in two thousand three the steelers were the worst run team in the nfl. And in two thousand and four they were one of the best. They changed one offensive lineman. They brought in an old duce. Staley and that's it. They changed the scheme. They changed the focus and they ran the ball and good things happen so for me matt canada. If he can get in there and change the mentality on offense change the scheme get the offensive line. Run block. I pass block second. We can see that kind of turnaround and really set up ben rothlisberger for another super bowl win because the time he's one he's had a run game or is that a great defense and at least a run game that was that was viable. You know When two thousand ten they had it again but when they don't have it. The team doesn't win in the playoffs. You can't they can't do it. You can't lay everything on. Ben rothlisberger so matt canada. It's a big task. I hope he does it. So you're saying with the run game. It's going to be offensive guys going to be the new fresh face in canada. Now when you say run the ball how do we are we using this laid back like like like we did with cornell or we using a a various amount of people in running back position. Say if we use snell mcfarland those guys and we want to someone in the draft or monica free agent. How many people in that backfield take to to move. The steelers tame beyond two yards. 'cause like what's let's be like i i i don't know that you and i brought this up in the the paul gasiorowska coming thirty seconds in the game is biz. Moist is something you cannot do. What are your thoughts on the thirty second and handle we. What do you do honestly. I boggles my mind. Thinking about that. Placement of thirty seconds. And i'll i'll go back to through five games. A third of the way into the season they were a top ten run team. I mean we dropped from top ten to though worst and eleven games. It's incredible how bad the run game was for the steelers for two thirds of the season. It was absolutely terrible and Yeah that's that was awful to see and you saw it. When teams were selling out on the past linebackers they were dropping linebackers back farther than they normally were to sit on those slants to chase. Claypool there's post routes and they were taken away. Juju smith schuster and chase claypool. Best routes with linebackers. Because they didn't need to come up. Defend the ron. They didn't need them..

"If your pets per your Stewart first and foremost, everybody's from Pittsburgh My Father's Side him. My mother's side all users and proud of it off the year after the Immaculate Reception 1973. We got season tickets and I've been going to games ever since. Patrick's my son when he got to be sixteen years old. The stipulation was well, you can go you have to drive. Okay. Well, it was worth passing kind of Seventeen years 18 years or whatever, you know, which is a blast. We're 5:00 rush from the talk. Just out of habit. He sat on the left off on the right and to celebrate the good and go through the bad with your dad. You can't beat that. With my lovely wife Mana love of my life. You got married, maybe 5 she was against her too. She loves the Steelers. She made on her Terrible Towel that was there ready to grab when necessary she Drew and scream and yell and her last three years. She had been in the hospital every three or four months or something. So she passed away last October 18th. I mean I miss her tremendously, but the memories are there and nobody can take that away from me always have those pictures. That's what you want. Finger, I got a chance to it was actually their anniversary of 2018. There was an episode that he had here the week later that he was diagnosed with cancer. I went through the chemo and radiation. So hopefully it doesn't come back last year over the end of last year was sort of just a blur. So I'm going to kind of start fresh with this season. I'm in kind of the games this past Thursday morning came up. I just missed that being there. That's why I'm really bummed for this year that you gotta look out for the greater. Good could really use a few games with 60,000 plus together. But what else do you do then just adapt and make the best of it. Down here. How you doing? I'm doing wonderful. It's a pleasure to me than they do pleasure to meet you wanna thank you so much. First of all, I want to tell you on behalf of Pepsi and distillers. We know you can't make it to the game this year. So we wanted to bring the 60. You got a beautiful girl. I know what it's like to lose something you love. So we just want to make sure we brought it to you. Thank you. They feel the same. I kind of felt my modem up there for like, yeah, it's like off a moment and a girl front of you them. Even the toughest times you leaned on the people that you love the most. Yeah, we have each other and that's good enough for me.

The Steelers cut Steven Nelson

"Want wanna start this show with stephen nellis fallout but not just steven nelson steven nelson and the steelers fallout. A lot of people were asking me. Ask the people on twitter saying. Hey gimme your questions. A lot of questions came about steven nelson. Because steven nelson was released from the steelers on tuesday and there is speculation. About what are they going to do with the eight million dollars a day saved. There's a lot of questions about what are they going to do. At the cornerback position There was a lot of questions just in general what happened. Why did they cut nelson. Why did they not cut hayden. Why there's we have more questions than we have answers. Let's put it that way. But the one thing i want to talk about is that where did the steelers go after this where the steelers go after. The news is already coming. Let's be honest. we knew this was coming. If you were if you listened. I said it other people on our platform said it. When steven nelson was granted the request to search for trade. He was as good as gone. The reason being is that no one in their right mind. Excuse me no one in their right mind meaning other. Nfl personnel would have put in a trade request when they knew that the steelers. We're going to cut him anyways. They knew they were going to release in. They knew they needed to salary cap space. They knew that he was the one that they were going to be. Getting rid of so. Why in the world would anyone put in a trade with you. Know he's going to be on the free market. The only team that would is if they're unbelievably needy for a cornerback in a have the draft capital trade. That didn't happen when it didn't happen over the weekend. I said it was going to be released and here. We are on tuesday. And that's exactly what happened. He was released. So i don't think this is necessarily nelson was underperforming. That hayden is better. I literally think this came down to finances. I think he came down to that. He saved them more money now. Mark volley of the athletic recently went on ninety three seven the fan in pittsburgh and said that he does not feel the steelers going to put money back into the team. I kind of disagree with that. I disagree with that for a couple of reasons number one. I think they already had about three million dollars in cap space. That's important to know. Prior to cutting steven nelson steven nelson gets cut. Now at eight million more simple math tells you that's eleven million dollars now when you have eleven million dollars you can sit on it. You're gonna need about three million to sign your draft picks yet you're gonna have to pay out injuries and things like that but they could still go out there and find someone they could still go out there and find a free agent. I'm pointing to the center physician mainly saying if they could just find a center there still are some serviceable centers out there on the open market. They could just find the center and they could be on their way to really shaping this team really and i said it before. I said it on my monday. Show if you missed it go back and check it out my. Let's ride podcasts on monday. I actually liked the way. This team is starting to take shape. I really do people want change in. You're getting it but sometimes it's not the change that you want or necessarily expect that doesn't mean that it's bad change. Sometimes there's change just for the sake change and sometimes there's changed for the better. I think so far. The news made and some of them. You know losing bud depre- losing by hilton losing tyson. Our wallet losing matt feiler. Oh those players. That's not changed that they could control the salary. Cap goes the one eighty two point five. They can't control that.

"So i started to laugh because i just saw. We were just talking about the patriots making moves and i think they just made another one on defense and the reason. The Invisible Issue: Understanding Statelessness

"Could not cloth and it got to rina are both stateless. Carina has a said if a kid with autism as the birthplace aboard ones under the ussr. Rena immigrated to the us on a soviet possible cash twenty two in all their forms of identification rented them as belonging to the soviet union. A nation that no longer exists. There is so much wrong with this situation. It seems to be this this perfect storm of unfortunate diamond place but is my take on this story. I think it points to something more implicated of things. We can control from upholding. Basic human rights to adopting accessible fair bats to citizenship as countries societies individuals. Be are failing to do that now. I am not an expert on this matter. I cannot even re-lead to the experiences of these two guests but this interview was undoubtedly a teaching moment. And i am in awe of carina and he got to rina's resilience weakness wonder ability fear. I think all those emotions are important to own. And it's stories like these becky peak going. And i hope i really hope it touches you wear blue are disputed food incredible moving strong story and i hope that in a way you feel more creches and cognisant so let's get started. Welcome corinna and it got reena to immigrants. I am extremely excited to have both of you here. Thank you so much saudi to pleasure to be here and having us so normally. I know how to begin the interview or way to start but i'll be honest today. I'm struggling a bit because what we are going to talk about is so critical to the basic idea of human dignity and yet the issue itself is invisible. We don't hear about it I have worked in the human rights. Space for a long john hayman. Unfortunately statelessness was never bought of my consciousness. Which is sad. Because i've worked with refugees. I worked with asylum-seekers. I worked with persecuted populations but this is something. That is an invisible problem. So i want to start with the basics. Can you explain what it legally means to be stateless and shared how one can become stateless weather here in the. Us art abroad without question. Still snus is often referred to as a kind of an invisible issue steals mrs global human rights problem that affects people in nearly every country on the planet a stateless person but definition is someone who is not considered a national by any state under the operation of its law in other words. Steelers person is someone who has no country. No nationality in every country in the planet would consider and treat them as a foreigner. Imagine that estimated fifteen million people worldwide are in fact st louis in terms of how it happens. I'd say that most people would agree. The cases of statelessness occur as a result of a discrimination of one type or another so laws and practices that are discriminatory whether it's gender-based religion-based ethnicity or race. Based are the main drivers of statelessness. Of course additional factors such as shifting borders or when whole countries dissolve and become replaced with other countries and this is called state succession as well as lack of proper birth. Registration practices can all be major factors. sometimes nationality laws of countries can be a conflict with one another so how nationalities obtained for example in the united states. People can be born into being an american. Or if they're born to american citizens is two pathways that us employees But in other countries sometimes they can conflict and the result in statelessness on but it is important to remember that we are talking about human beings right and well on the surface. This may sound is such a technical term in a complicated situation. What we're talking about is human beings who find themselves living their lives without protection of any country with no legal entity and there's quite often no way out of the situation because many countries don't have protective mechanisms to allow stateless person to get their nationality. Back i wanted to add that in the united states statelessness appears in so many different ways. But you know we are a huge diversity between different experiences and wishes and backgrounds and just last year a groundbreaking report came out by these senator for migration studies and that report estimated there over two hundred thousand stateless people and at risk people that are at risk of statelessness in the united states. You know on a diversity speaks four Data where we are in the us represent from over thirty different countries and territories of the world. This looks really different than what appears and other areas of the world where there's a specific ethnicity specific race or sex that is targeted You know in further and there's multiple ways person a stateless person appears in the us or comes to the us you know we are asylum seekers that were denied the claim some of us came on visa tourist or student. Some of us are refugees. Some of us have temporary. Protective status says were victims of trafficking a one point our lives we unaccompanied minors. Statelessness does at the center of the displacement in the us and there is no legal framework to acknowledge the issue so united nations has to conventions d nineteen fifty four convention on start of st louis and then the nineteen sixty one convention which aims to prevent statelessness and reduce it over tying and it does require states to establish safeguards in their nationality laws to prevent statelessness at birth and later in life. But sometimes i feel like despite having these conventions and hoping that countries will ratify them and be signatures. Do these conventions. I don't see many countries working towards that goal. Why do you think it is so inconvenient. For different nation states to solve this issue if we think about the human rights framework the global human rights framework and we think about united nations. I mean even the term united nations. It's representative of united nations right so the interests of countries will be always superseding those than interests of non-countries right and in case of statelessness. We're talking about human beings who are literally left without the protection of countries. They're not linked or bonded to any state so as a consequence i mean that could be definitely. I believe considered as one of the contributing causes. You know so until very recently there has been very little advocacy on behalf of stateless persons. But this is starting to change so there. Definitely global initiatives including of course unhcr who are mandated by the united nations to protect stateless persons. But the work is definitely a starting to pick up

Dallas Cowboys Reach Multi-Year Deal With Star Quarterback Dak Prescott

"Salary cabin number for two thousand and twenty one is going to be twenty two point two million dollars all right now. Head dak prescott. In franchise tag again this will happen in a procedural sense but had to cow tried to go at this with dak prescott on the franchise tag for the two thousand and twenty one season. We've talked about this a number of times. That value would have been thirty. Seven point seven million dollars so the fact that the cow is now have him onto the books. We're talking about the value that is on the books in the books. However you want to look at the books whether they're e books or physical books whatever the case may be that value is now twenty two point two million dollars now. I know that we have all said some things about the dallas cowboys but they are not complete dummies. They surely budgeted for the franchise tag value. Because let's be honest. They came about twenty four hours. We think you know. Close to having the actually placed the franchise tag and maybe carried out with that prescott. So the cowboys have room for the franchise tag at the very least so you look at that quake matt that adam schefter was kind enough to do for you. That is fifteen point. Five million dollars that the dallas cowboys suddenly have because they've got this long term deal with that prescott. This is something that we've been saying for two years now. If you do this you can. You can kick this down the road. You can prorate it you can extended you can whatever term you want to put on it. You can spread the impact of the deal out of the signing bonus of the overall guaranteed money out over the lives of the contract so it doesn't hit you all at once. That's the one killer about the franchise tag is that it is fully and completely guaranteed in franchise tag is a one year deal so the value of it last year and dak prescott was on the tag for thirty one point. Four million dollars. The two thousand twenty dallas cowboys had to absorb that value all at once and they would have had to have done it again. Here in two thousand and twenty one but because they have adjusted that they now have fifteen and a half million dollars that they were seemingly budgeting for dak prescott that now they can apply to different areas. Maybe it is a safety. Maybe it's a defensive end. Maybe it's a defensive tackle. Maybe it's you know an offensive tackle. But they want swing tackled death whatever the case may be. We know that the cowboys obviously hold the tenth overall. Pick in the draft. They could go a number of different directions there. They wanna cornerback kayla farther patrick's retain do wanna take one of the tackles and rashawn slater as all this is. This is setting up and this is an important thing. I want you to hear me here and watch me here. You cannot waste this money. If dallas cowboys the whole point and getting this done with thac prescott besides obviously establishing having the best player on your team for the foreseeable future the point in doing this is to alleviate the salary cap space now. And i don't like the term when now if you watch us often you know that but you look state of the nfc east. It is by sudha. I mean the philadelphia. Eagles are a disaster. The new york giants doping daniel jones is legitimate. The washington football team has a great team but is void of the most important position of the game and a quarterback. Maybe they'd get somebody this cycle as we all expect quarterbacks to change teams at a higher rate than usual but the case in point is at the dallas cowboys are now. We're going to see this all day on tuesday by the way and we'll talk about it of course but they're going to be overwhelming favorites to win the nfc streit and you think about the conference that they plan is really a contender in the nfc. And i mean that with all due respect to the reigning champion tampa bay buccaneers. But you've got the bucks you've got the green bay packers and then who scares you. May maybe the rams you believe in matthew stafford but the point is thinking about the afc. I mean the. Afc has the bills and the ravens and the chiefs and the titans and the steelers and the browns. I mean you could go. A number of different ways. Did the colts have carson. Wentz ends up getting his act together and so the cowboys play in the weakest division in the weaker conference and so now they have this opportunity to really kind of take their future in the here and now they have fifteen and a half million dollars that they weren't necessarily planning on having use it and if they don't use it it is all for not so i mean we are all imploring the dallas cowboys to ultimately use this salary cap space. This is a very very very luxurious gift. That they now have been afforded that they didn't previously have so shattered of course to the dallas cowboys. Let's see here let's move. I'm i wanna talk of course about the bonus the dak prescott because well. It's stupid large. I mean it's amazing. Dak prescott has now the largest signing bonus in the nfl. You look at joe flacco. Once upon a time. Got forty million. Dollars matt ryan forty six and a half. Remember if you're on the fence about this value. We've talked about this before as well. Matt ryan became the first quarterback in nfl history to average over. He had thirty but to average at least thirty million dollars per year with his new contract that he signed with the atlanta falcons in two thousand and eighteen. That was three years ago. Dak prescott signed a four six year. Deal whatever you wanna call it. That was three years ago. They matt ryan signed that he was the first quarterback to hit the thirty million dollars a year. Mark prescott just hit forty but the reality and we've been saying this forever is that there are so many deals coming around the bend. Josh allens gotta get paid. Lamar jackson's gotta get paid. Baker mayfield's got to get paid extra calories. He's going to get paid the year after that. It's going to be time for joe burrow to finally get paid and when all of those players get paid this forty million dollars a year. Mark the dak prescott got this one hundred twenty six million dollar. Total guaranteed is sixty six million dollar signing bonus all these things that are currently the top of the nfl. The most in nfl history. That's the verbiage in determining that you're hearing associated with this and it's all literally true but it's all going to get pushed down because all of these players on this list. Joe flacco matt ryan matthew stafford at fifty million signing bonus. Aaron rodgers fifty. Seven and a half russell wilson not going to be a dallas cowboy now by the way sixty five million dollars. Dak prescott topped that all of these quarterbacks in all likelihood we'll top that that's the reality of the nfl things are always moving in one direction. It is up

Steelers Sign a New Contract With Roethlisberger for the 2021 Season

"Ole Ben Roethlisberger cabin back to the Steelers and he's taking a five million dollar cut to do. So I was going to say is pretty damn awesome. That's pretty damn awesome. And you know you and I kind of talked about this at that was going to be the case just because he'd already had talks with the rooneys wage a look. I'll leave money on the table if that means I get to come back. So right yes, so he reduced his paid from 14 four or from 19 million to 14 million, which gives them about 15 million in cap space which in the grand scheme of things isn't a lot but just the gesture alone the gesture. Breakdown of Ben Roethlisberger’s new contract

"Ben roethlisberger has a new contract. So what is what is the tweet. What's the headline the pittsburgh steelers. Send this out. We have signed quarterback ben rothlisberger to a new contract for twenty twenty one period. That's it what. I'm sitting there reading this thing and they can't be serious they cannot be serious. Said that's it. We've signed ben rothlisberger to a new contract for twenty twenty one. What are you talking about. He was already under contract for twenty twenty one. His salary cap hid for twenty. Twenty one was forty million dollars so we knew that he was. I'm reading this thinking. What in the world they talking about. This is the worst headline writing or is just the dumbest story i've ever seen in my life and so you're wondering okay. I gotta go to this article. Because i need to see what in the world they're talking about and so you click on it and it's literally three paragraphs the pittsburgh signed ben rothlisberger to to a new contract for twenty twenty one. He was coming back anyways. I know that they wanted to give the salary cap down. What a what do you think we are idiots. Let me continue quote. We know the ben can still played a high level in do special things for this team. Our goal remains the same to put together a roster that will compete for another championship. We are happy that dan will be one of our leaders to help accomplish that goal. End quote

Mahomes to have surgery to fix turf toe

"Were talking about Patrick Mahomes undergoing surgery turf toe. And we started talking about this about three hours ago, and we were just going around the room going. Do we know exactly what a turf toe is? Because it gets it gets thrown around a lot and remember when dealing Sanders was with us at the Super Bowl when he took off his sock, and he showed us that toe That was turf toe that never healed whether he had surgery on it or nod Jack Lambert, the Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker, I think had turf toe and it stayed with him the rest of his career, so we thought You know what? Let's bring in somebody who knows what they're talking about. A former NFL offensive lineman won a Super Bowl with Washington a Harvard trained orthopedic doctor, mark addicts and good to have you back on here, Doc. So Do you want us to tell you what we think Turf toe is and then you could probably correct us on this. That'd be great. Let's see what you guys got. Let's see how good you are. All right. I'll start with you, Paulie. What do you think your toe is like a ligament sprain in the toe that hampers an athlete from pushing off like sprinting like running for two. You got a definition for church to one's toe was so severely sprained from the pounding on the torture that it does something. What kind of disconnects Tito from the other toes and needs to be surgically fix a snap back into place. All right, Seaton It is an injury that when, uh, say like wide receivers are going to get their second foot in and they drag it along the left their toes on the turf, and then it gets hurt like that. No, I did not. I did not even look at it that way. Yes, my club, So I thought it was a rug burn style injury from any time she goes on the worse when you're playing with your kids of rug burn, but I do believe it's out. Now ligament underneath your toe that connects to the foot. Okay, let's let's bring in. Doc and Doc. What exactly is Turf toe. Well, I think I think example one wins the ligament injury so it could be a ligament injury. Or it could be an injury to the planter plate, which is almost like a Cartlidge thing That's on the bottom of it, So it is the big toe joint. And it rarely. Is it an injury? There were quite a surgery. The bass majority of players don't require surgery in the NFL there have been about there was a study that was done that had about 30 guys with serfdom. Injuries that were pretty severe, and only about 10% ended up requiring some surgery. Deon Sanders did require surgery. Deon Sanders Strip toe injury did end his career. Essentially, he stuck around for a couple more years, but never really was the same. Antonio Gates had it had a pretty bad turf toe had surgery in 2000 and eight and played Many years was very productive after that injury in surgery, So generally speaking guys, too, Okay. I think John was as his foot with a test was an extreme case. Didn't Mahomes play the Super Bowl with a Tauron ligament? Certainly did. I mean, I In other words, when you have a tip toe injury there, three grades break one. Great, too Great three. It's the same for almost anything. Great one, just a few of the fibers or tourney. Great to a bunch more. Tauron. Great three. It's completely disrupted. So for someone to need surgery generally, there's got to be a little bone chip. It's in the joint or the toe has to be somewhat unstable, which would tell you that that ligament tear had to be pretty significant.

"Want to start with a brand. That's new to me golden dom beauty. Now they sent us a bunch of products obviously full disclosure we will always full disclosure disclose things they send somebody products to try and i tried them and i wanted to give you a review of my trying them because when i first tried them i was like well. This is okay but then this is the thing isn't it. We always have to review things. And i think this goes across everything that we use is. Does it do what it says. It does. And on wti the thing that i actually really like about ron john. Beauty is it's not to be something isn't if that makes sense it is all about minimalists beauty. It's about getting the job. Don a us retouched photos in their campaigns. It's all about just making life easy and getting it done and even though it's called undone i do actually really respect that now. What i'm going to say is this is not a brand for beauty. Obsessed people like me. This is realistically i'm like. I know it's a brand. That's four main. This is not a brand for someone who's gonna spend three hours of sephora trying to get the exact right shade and coverage of foundation Because they've got the time and the inclination to do so. That was great and the little brow of pa- made gel on on the other end clues double ended product which makes it a real value. Money win That was great. That was fantastic. That was too dark for me but as a product that does what it supposed to do. I thought it was fantastic. I liked the lip gloss over watermelon lip gloss which i've actually been wearing a lot. I enjoyed that and my favorite product. I have to say my absolute favorite would even believe it was the water highlighter. The Tempest Stele

"This artifact is at its heart a big stone block it is a slab. It is a big slab made of cal site. That's currently in multiple fragments. I think through at least three major fragments And they were recovered from the temple complex of karnak which is in the ancient egyptian city of thebes near the modern Upper egypt city of luxor. And this artifact was recovered by archaeologists. I think in the late nineteen forties early nineteen fifties Karnak of course this big beautiful temple complex you may have seen. It represented digitally and transformers movies. Where they're big robots slugging around there or as an actual shooting location in the spy. Who loved me. Did the transformers really battle here. I think they did at some point. The transporter the it's part of the the raison d'etre of of Transformers to eventually just slam through and demolish every work of humankind like all artifacts and landscapes must be ground into sand by the transformers until only transformers remain right. Okay just a baron. Featureless earth completely smooth but with transformers with mack trucks and jeeps and stuff. But anyway. what's the deal with this slab. The tempest de originally stood about one point. Eight meters tall so about six feet tall and it bears an inscription texts that was copied on both sides in these horizontal lines. But it also has imagery at the top so to quote from One of the papers that we're going to be referencing today. I think that this description comes from this. First paper that was published by karen pollinger foster robert k. Rittner and benjamin. Our foster in the journal of near eastern studies in nineteen ninety-six quote above the horizontal body of each text is a lou net with to adore st- scenes and brief vertical labels unlike the parallel text. The tulu net labels display minor variation in wording both faces preserve dual scenes of the king followed by female deity of fecundity carrying offering trays. And these traits have like fruits and vegetables on them. So you've got this big old texts. That's on both sides in this image of a king and a lady who represents fertility Carrying up some nice foodstuffs fruits and vegetables. Nice plant matter and so here. I think maybe we should actually just read the full text of the tempus teela because it's not all that long And this is something that i personally really love. May maybe other people aren't as interested in design but it just reading the text of of texts that are this old like these. Ancient egyptian inscriptions really does kind of put me in an altered state of consciousness. You know it's like I i feel like i'm inhabiting a mind. That is so separated from me by time and culture that it's a little bit creepy. I mean to to a certain extent. That's that's exactly what's happening right. The transfer of information across the ages. Yeah and in. There's this like weird tingling down at the bottom of my brain where i just feel like. There's a lot that's really important that i'm not understanding but i'm getting just the slightest hint of what it is coming through in the translation Well that's the tingler you've got that. That's the vincent price movie. Well i know what you're talking about with okay. This english translation is by the american egyptologist. Robert honor who is the one of the authors on a couple of studies that we're going to be mentioning today now again. The steelers text is damaged. So there are some gaps and some of these have been filled in with. What is very likely what their contents were so. There's just some texts that we don't have but we feel very confident you know. This is what it would have been another parts or just left blank. Where there's less certainty and i guess when we get one of those blank spots just sort of pause for a second in the reading so here it goes long live the horace great of manifestations he of the two ladies pleasing of birth the golden horus who binds the two lands king of the upper and lower egypt. Neb feddie raw son of raw ahmosis living forever. Now then his majesty came raw himself had appointed him to be king of upper egypt. Then his majesty dwelt at the town of said. Jeff tally in the district. Just to the south of kandara while on raw. Lord of the thrones of the two lands was in thebes. It was his majesty who sailed south to offer bread beer and everything good and pure now after the offering then attention was given in this district now then the cold image of this god at his body was installed in this temple while he was enjoy. Now then this great god desired. His majesty was god's declared their discontent. The gods caused the sky to come in a tempest of rain with darkness in the western region and the sky unleashed without cessation louder than the cries of the masses more powerful than while. The rain raged on the mountains louder than the noise of the cataract which is at elephants. Every house every quarter that they reached floating on the water like skiffs of papyrus opposite the royal residence for a period of days while a torch could not be lit in the two lands. Then his majesty said how much greater this is than the wrath of the great god than the plans of the gods then his majesty descended to his boat with his council following him while the crowds on the east and west had hidden faces having no clothing on them after the manifestation of the god's wrath then his majesty reach the interior of thebes with gold confronting gold for this statue so that he meaning on raw received that which he desired then. His majesty began to reestablish the two lands to drain the flooded territories without his to provide them with silver with gold with copper with oil and cloth of every bolt that could be desired. The and his majesty made himself comfortable inside the palace life prosperity health. His majesty was informed that the mortuary concessions had been entered by water with the tomb. Chambers collapsed the funerary mansions undermined in the pyramids fallen having been made into that which was never made. Then his majesty commanded to restore the temples which had been into ruin in this entire land to refurbish the monuments of the gods to erect their closure walls to provide the sacred in the noble chamber to mask the secret places to introduce into their shrines. The cult statues which were cast to the ground to set up the braziers to erect offering tables to establish their bread offerings to double the income of the personnel to put the land into its former state. Watson Wants Houston Texans Trade - No Matter The New Coach

"Be enemy. Who watson apparently liked and wanted at the beginning the talk. Now there's nothing better talk narrows it. The shaun watson is doesn't care who the head coaches that he's going to ask out and he wants to be traded now. This is the fact that i've tried to say speculation until he says something. But there's enough insight from these people who do their job morton schefter and and rappaport and all the people that it's this is not fake. It's obviously real people. Think laking this to these. I don't have any idea. But all of them have their sources. It's definitely there's there's no way it's anybody. But sean somebody connected to sean agent. A a buddy whatever it is we everybody has somebody that go to for this. And this is obviously real. The question is how real is the trade. How real would it be. And sean again. The texans on a on a give him all that money which he deserved. But putting a no trade clause in for twenty five year old and an and now if he decides to drop the no-trade clause he can decide where he goes. So let's say it was the pittsburgh steelers who wanted offer but it was less offer than the. Let's say the chicago bears and he says i'm not going to either one and i'm not going to be here so now you've been he'd that the only thing he does control about this he can hold out but he can also pigeonhole you into who you're going to trade with which may cost you less. Because they know the sean while you may get less for him because shawn watson can lead you down all six different teams and lead you down to. Here's the to. it's either here. i'm not going. And i'm not showing up now. You can call the bluff and say we're not trading you there for that and cause they're not we're not we're going to get somewhat close to equal value which is going to be impossible. But then you're going to have to hold out if you wanna play that kind of hard ball or less. Just gonna go in and say you know what we'll give you away for a cheaper price. Let the fact that he's unhappy as obviously real so. It's something that has to be discussed now. I'm not going to sit here and speculate will go into the jetsons you i don't know and none of us do and i don't know i still think it'd be stupid to trade him. But if you play hardball you and you're playing that okay. Are you going to hold out. You're not call the bluff.

Lake Erie's Revenge: The Cleveland Browns Date With AFC Destiny

"Thanks for joining me. Man going to be on with ov pablo jake. Trotter covers the cleveland browns for espn and before that you reported on the big twelve and followed baker mayfield's meteoric rise. So you live in cleveland. I live in cleveland. I live about five miles away from the browns training facility in berea. Ooh so listen you are right at the heart of everything you cover the browns. I want to understand what does winning this first. Playoff game. twenty six years doing it against is truly hated. Enemy in the pittsburgh steelers. What does it do for a city after two decades of being like generally humiliated. How would you describe the energy. Jake in cleveland right now. Yeah i would describe it as one of the greatest moments in the history of the city. And i'm not just talking about football. I'm talking about all moments. If you talk to people who grew up your they would say that sunday one of the happiest days of their lives sunday night after that win you could hear fireworks going off around cleveland. I don't know who has fireworks in the middle of january but people have them. Apparently people were driving up and down. Their streets warns it was a very exciting night. For cleveland and one that they've been waiting for for twenty six years and really forever considering how dominated they have been by the steelers over the years. Yes i'm looking at a list of things. Actually jake that happened in nineteen ninety four when the browns won their last playoff game. Turns out the number one on the billboard charts. Was the sign by ace of base. Is that all sound right to you. In terms of how did all of this has been feeling. Yeah i've been doing this all year checking what songs were number one at a time. The browns headache milestone. I know that when they were foreign one for the first time since nineteen ninety. Four when bill belichick was still the head coach. That boys to men actually had the number one song on the billboard. Hot one hundred. That kind of gives you a little context of how long it's been since the browns were at this point. I mean they're starting quarterback for example wasn't even alive to rewind to a little bit more recently the week leading up to this playoff win over the steelers it was. I don't even know how to explain it. Other than just like total chaos. Breaking news into i ate out of cleveland browns coach. Kevin stefanski has tested positive for covid. Nineteen according to our adam schefter to other coaches and players dealing with kobe related issues. They're closing their facilities fellas. They ultimately competed with kevin stefanski in his basement. Watching the game not on the sidelines. So what is this week been like as it relates to cove it. They had a practice on wednesday which was weird to see because they haven't had a practice or very many of them not even just last week for the last couple of weeks. I mean go back to the game in week. Sixteen when they traveled to play the jets. They had to delay their flight because they had a positive test from one of their players. Then they had to put their entire receiving core as high risk close contacts on the reserve covid nineteen list. They finally get to newark. They stay the night there. They were not able to do a walk through before leaving on saturday so they held a walk through on the fifth floor. The parking garage that morning adjacent to their hotel really from that moment until now it is been total. Chaos i mean they have had almost every single day since then. Something chaotic happen where they'd had to adjust. They went the entire week last week. Almost without a practice until getting one in friday they finally got kevin stefanski their head coach back in the building on thursday. It has been a bizarre couple of weeks. But to this team's credit into kevin's stefanski credit. They have never panicked. They have never felt sorry for themselves and they have been able to overcome it. Which is the most impressive thing. When this team given their lack of success in the past in the way as they've come together their ability to overcome different curve balls that have been thrown their way.

"I want to challenge you all anytime. I do numbers and you're like i wonder about that. Check them check. The numbers are right number. Let me know you know. I'm not saying. I'm you know he's still says. I i am the stat geek. This the steelers stat geek. And this was kinda geeky but i wanted to put in a little something about the numbers to jeb shared. I didn't exactly indicate to jeff. Exactly what the numbers were. I was giving him. They're going to give you the same thing. But if you check the exact decimal numbers what for those of you. That might not have caught wednesdays. Let's ride affiliation real quick. But if not makes you go back and check that that was a great show by jeff but it was about steelers scoring points off turnovers and jeff spouted out the numbers. He said how it was. I gave the average of how many points steelers turn. You know that the steelers score off of a turnover all the way going back to two thousand fourteen as what. I went back to four and how this year they are at four point. Three six points off of each turnover. I gotta throw it a little disclaimer. Because i didn't explain this to him. Very well i was specifically looking at the offense. Taking turnovers defense gets a take away and turning them into points what those numbers did not account for is when the defense themselves scored the points off turnovers. So i just wanted to put that disclaimer out there in case anyone was wondering that seems weird. 'cause i think jeff you've got confused by it because i had eleven written down as the turnovers but really. He knows that they have thirteen on the season. Because two times the steelers turned those tr- those takeaways four touchdown now when you take into account the touchdowns also scored off of takeaways. The numbers are are comparing year to year. They're extremely similar. Of course they're all bumped up a little bit because boone. that's seven points off of it every time it's interesting because i think there was only i think since two thousand fourteen. There's only two times. There wasn't an extra point made or or converted two point conversion and two times that there was an on two point conversion that was converted so it kinda worked out pretty well that they all averaged out the seven but in essence where the steelers really stand out is in two thousand and twenty. They're doing a great job of getting points when they get takeaways and the last time they did that well was two thousand fourteen last year. Jeff gave the number of two point. Six six points per take away. That was particularly where the offense got the ball. If you want to it it it's a little bit better. Goes up to exactly three whenever you taking won't count. What the seems because they had three defensive touchdowns last year just wanted to put that disclaimer out. There explain that a little bit in case anyone happened to go and say i want to look this up and see exactly what this is so that was my fault of not explaining that better to jeff of what i did. I was specifically giving him. What the offense has done with the ball once they get the ball on a take away And and things of that sort so. I hope those numbers don't make sense. Let's talk about this game against the ravens. Oh my goodness i was. It's funny i. it's the emotional roller coaster of a steelers fan. I think we all felt it That's kind of why. I like to read the jerk. Reaction article behind the curtain dot com. It kind of takes you through the emotions of the game. And you kind of relive those emotions by feeling by seeing them through someone else's eyes you know it was ecstatic in the first minute. Pick six seven points on the board. Offense hasn't even stepped on the field. Then you get the the would have had to stop the extremely questionable penalty things of that nature. The rest of the first half was just blah. The steelers offense could not get rolling at all. They gave up that field goal at the end of the half. Which i you know. I'm just just don't give up the points and i thought i thought for a second. They had to take away with joe aiden and thought maybe they could turn that into three but instead of gaining three they lost three and it was just kinda frustrating. The came out completed a big pass juju to start the second half and then three straight incompletions in a plant and i'm just like oh here we go and then alex highsmith turned everything around. He made a fantastic play for that. Interception set the steelers up two plays later touchdown defense gets fired up after that comes out with a three and out the offense gets the ball down. The field takes the lead the steelers they. We did an article. I've been doing these every tuesday now not from the very beginning of the season because we didn't even think about it. Just kind of came about that. Jeffrey benedict and i do an article together. Were i look at stats. And he looks at film and we bring them together. We call it steelers vertex. You know it's two lines intersecting to a point And we get to the point to it at the end and this was about the steelers throwing their way back into the game because they just want to throw in the ball that i long drive. They had a of the second half the one where they took the lead. There was almost all passes. They had they had three running plays. Then there was sack which you can say a passing play but all the rest were were passing place and they were all completions if they weren't penalties cause remember after the penalty. The apparently doesn't count as a play depending on the penalty so then on their on their game winning drive. It was all passes. And that's what they did. So ben rothlisberger comes out and and after the highsmith interception after the heisman interception he only had.

"Welcome back to the only show that goes back in time to steelers yesteryear steelers, retro show. My name is Brian Anthony Davis alongside meat is Tony. As we go back to the year two, thousand four for that rookie year of Ben. Rothlisberger Tony. How are you? My friend I am fantastic I can't wait to to talk about this game what a thrilling year two, thousand, four, west for that team it really was. So last week on the retro show, we went back to Halloween of two, thousand, four when the undefeated. New England. Patriots came into town and the steelers halted their twenty one game winning streak. So they had the same thing the very next week. It's very rare that deep into the season you have to undefeated teams at home back to back the Philadelphia Eagles are coming to town. It's the Pennsylvania State Championship. And remember the Pittsburgh steelers never did that well against the eagles. But thankfully, this one was in Heinz field because when you go to whether it was veteran stadium and or now Lincoln financial, that's just a tough place for Pittsburgh to play. They haven't won since one, thousand, nine, hundred, sixty, five there. So I was so glad that it was at Heinz Field I was at that magical game against the Patriots the we talked about last week. I was blessed to be this game was well. I had better seats though I was in the two hundred level. This time I was in section two, twenty, five in the closed end zone great seats my buddy, Doug gave me tickets for this game and so I had a chance to see the steelers and the pay. And the Eagles do it. And do it in great fashion because you had two teams you know the steelers had one loss. So I believe they were six in one coming on this game. actually five and one in the end the eagles were. Either six and seven. If I'm not mistaken may seventy. No. There you go in. So they're playing each other. They had some firepower on this team very tough defense but they terrell owens. Donovan mcnabb, they were a very good team and the steelers had another Guy Duce Staley, who was a former eagle. But he didn't play in this game. He had a great week. The last week. Against the Patriots got injured and the steelers were also worried because they weren't going to have Casey Hampton in this game as well where they didn't have him the week before Chris. Hoke was they're playing in his stead in they were down to starters. In playing an undefeated team. It was it was pretty ominous. I'm at I can't even speak it was. Is Ominous going into this game. So with that being said, let's go back. Let's set our time surrogates on are black and gold delorean to a time when George. Bush George W Bush was celebrating his reelection victory over John Kerry for President of the United States of America. The hot show on. TV. WAS ABC's lost was captivating couches and their inhabitants all across America I know I was into it when you in the lost. I've never seen it but but fortunately, I did become Daniel. Day Kim. Fan many years later when he when he transitioned to Hawaii five Oh I know you love your Hawaii five just like I do right absolutely. Yet lost was a fantastic show. So that was that was a sensation that was a rookie sensation and the steelers had a rookie sensation as well in Ben Rothlisberger the rookie from Miami of Ohio had won his first five starts and he was capturing the hearts of steelers nation everywhere for the first time it seemed like forever but. In roles, Andy Reid, and the gang. Welcome to November seventh thousand four Tony. The steelers wasted no time in establishing dominance. In this game, they jumped on the bus with a staley being injured. He's in street clothes. The twelfth year back needed a channel younger self and he really did. Is converted a fourth and one as well as gaining thirty four yards on the steelers opening series. Facing a third and thirteen from the Philly thirty two that rookie Ben Rothlisberger avoided a rush by that vaunted eagles defense and took off for a first down of sixteen yards to extend that drive. He was magic with his legs wasn't he tony? And that was one of the first Clinton that we got to see of. Of of big band and he's a, he's a big guy six five. At that time he was about to fifty to sixty but he he's an exceptional athlete and he showed it on this play. And that was a very big I down because on the next play the very next play. It was one of the most iconic plays. Actually let's say this one of the most iconic celebrations. In Pittsburgh steelers history, it was the cover sports illustrated the next week. Hines. Ward. Took it on an end around for another sixteen yards and the score hines punctuated the TB by doing what Tony? During the eagles fly egos, fly Aotearoa I. Think He owes you that that year without his thing. Yup He was flapping zones and racking that Patton te'o celebration in the end zone. They had a seventy one yard scoring drive on the opening drive. The steelers were off and running to an early seven. Zero Start and were you think Tony that this is a new Pittsburgh steelers that we might be just. In A. In a new time. Coming off the previous week and and the fact that they were five and one and playing. So well, I at this point I was feeling pretty darn good. But you knew what you had in.

"But for me getting someone in, that's twenty seven that's quite Goofy says weighed that Ben can have a bit more in we know that when the rookie wide save come into the league and come into the steelers Ben Tykes water clements is we saw that James Washington. In twenty eighteen struggled a little bit debt expected. We know twenty nine despite having average quarterback play at best compatible ben gets that you sold Washington really stopped to wadded up and obviously the season three's massive on form the off season so for me. This idea that you'll getting someone that's experienced but still young, he's got some Mehta's left on older model. Sorry. Down here in the metrics got some. He's got some miles left in the tank. The tank. And as she know mock as well because when we talk about these of the off season for made. Utah Abraham which I think. For me he he represents a big hotline of the off season for me and that was really around how the steelers have approached free agency. I have been really impressed with the way we've handled this now. I think we'll parking things like sign ray signing dance where we would win. We had poor debts the tight end position. When you look at it, the steelers obviously bud depressed franchise tag counts as how you've played out free agency as well. The main. Bringing is like Stephan was new ski trading for a guy like Chris womanly Obviously it was very sad to juvenile hall grave go. But on a C. that was not gonNA line for what he be was, what he is with the new Ye. So that would what angels offering him? And bringing in like you. You're not thank you say race on you not file you Mike Helton's bringing a guy like Derek. Bringing that to US skippers well I thought that was really the bringing a window smallwood to shore up at Ave room in that that's to meet you one going forward as we approach pot day. Live detecting this afternoon on from a going it really really interesting what we have done that leading God's like Audience Guard letting shown David Scott. He was always going to get a bit more money to more prepared to give him. I am styling the bowl camp. It says that it was the right thing. Not It was the right thing to cut mop baronet was also the right brain that as well on family in that part that. It's about the approach it's about the players we boarding like you was new skis and you derrick. Watson also steelers think. We know that Kevin Call Normal concubinage that manage the player whilst that I love that we can bring back 'cause like Tala Medicare, which he wasn't worth the money. To pay him. We didn't as we didn't try and raise sign Sean Davison Iva for that. You know we didn't. We were small John. Highgrading said, don't offer. It wasn't drawn out in the media. We didn't give boons and other million. When we know he's not going to be the ride Playa. I have questions while. Love that I chewed of Joan Dangerfield I've got some questions there are going to be have to be honest I. got some questions they oversee was great interview when he when he joined invade TSA but dirty, he's got to prove somewhat I watched the ad go spend overspend on on. So mainline number is how approach the whole thing I think as you said, Abrahams, the icing on the cake getting someone he that he's ready to sort of fill the tape, the titan role in a way that we kind of haven't seen seen since taste. And bad about these talking March when he talked about a similarity, you know in one hundred, twenty gains Mila had. Two. Hundred Ninety six catches three thousand three hundred thirty three yards twin on touchdown in Nineteen Games and obviously that brings into this injury situation with with Abraham Abrahams had played eighty three games to ninety three catches three thousand one, hundred, ninety, five yards, and twenty seven touchdowns. So we have had similar production through six agents again, obviously, the health issue but sometime, he hasn't played twenty gang. So he's almost whilst he's been in the League six as is only five seasons of mileage on his body and at taught in ways guys play willing to that early and Mid Thirties. Despite, well, despite its wealth and attain. The GEICO hit. Say I. Think we've all we've all gone crazy. This has been the longest off-season ever like you've despite a brilliant pitch out to what happened with their off-season needed. The cake is like one of the big thing is you bond autograph he's GonNa be. Very. Much Sun. but the people who name delay by the Burns and Davis they had the guy there Thomas upside. Yeah. You said you said it brilliant. So the female the next part of rate half of the osage not thought we'd look at he's very much round. The rookie that you expect to Now we've heard a lot about quite Quite from big band, we've heard him mentioned by the coaches even Joe Haden who knows. It and he's coming into play pool that knock. WHO's that rookie? You think he's GonNa. Excite the steelers the steelers fan base comes as in Twenty Twenty So I'm thinking all not going to be awesome for show as a stop. What both? And if I vary eighty kind of a little deeper than it's just allergies so maybe that's why I'm I'm getting that but I appreciate it that much to talk about so much to keep on going with with a steeler season as we continue that hangover. Look I'm not gonna be feeling better from this hangover. In till the Pittsburgh steelers are in camp and the Pittsburgh steelers are on the field playing. Actually I'm not gonNA feel better until September so this hangover is one that lasts and where he we're Alka Seltzer. Tony how are you feeling today. My friend I'm feeling good. I'm feeling great. Od wasn't DB's group that did a ghetto superstar to that. I don't know Gosh and I. I know we know what we'll have to. We'll talk about that but before we get started at the steelers You look at the calendar Lotta a lot of people had The men had off. Today the the banks had off today. Government agencies had off. Today we had I had off today. We had off today for good reason. And I want you to remember the importance of this day Martin Luther King Day this celebration that was first brought up by Jimmy Carter back in nineteen seventy nine so this was about forty one years in the making I believe nineteen eighty six and finally became an actual holiday. If here's something that I do with my children I'm I put that speech on Youtube. Every single Martin Luther King Day and just like I put a Jimmy V. Speech speech on when the espy's rolling around so they I want them to hear these kind of speeches that shaped our thinking in our world and so I thank you to Martin Luther King and the legacy and. I hope that we're celebrating that today and realizing that the world looks a whole lot different than it did when our parents it's in their parents were were in these spots so with that being said just wanted to mention that to you tony absolutely I remember Boura when I was in elementary school. Harvey Harvey Adams who was the head of the local end up Lacey Pe- he would come and talk to us and share share those experiences that he had in the late sixties and in sixty was pretty educational for a little show. Yeah that's what I always think of when I think of Martin Luther King so would that be being said I wanted to go ahead and bring that up. So let's talk about the weekend the weekend that was without the steelers before we get into the steelers. And we're going to bring the steelers into this whole thing to What did we learn from this weekend and most of the show is? What did the steelers learn from this? It's not just this weekend but this entire postseason so far. So let's start off with the first Games The first game this weekend. It was the Tennessee. Titans a lot. The people a favourite of a lot of people going through they were actually. I had I had my heart set on the titans. 'cause I really like a really like their style of play against a team in the Kansas City chiefs that they can turn things around in a heartbeat. It doesn't matter how far they're down. What were your thoughts about that? First Game Tony. Well I actually just wrote something about that before. I came on the air. I was rooting for the titans. Like you you know you like the underdog six seed and and and we can relate to that the steelers fans with the five team but as I started watching that game and they fell behind seventeen seven Kansas City showing bad for the chiefs. 'cause it's been fifty years or it had been fifty fifty years since they made it to the Super Bowl. And you know it had to feel like deja Vu all over. Again for them they just lost a heartbreaker last year. So I kind of rooting for the chiefs. I wanted to see them win because I go that long without making it and coming close so many times and you know Patrick Mahomes. He's just I was wrong. I'm just going to say it. I remember over three years ago. I had many arguments on behind the curtain. With people like Igloo. Joe He's he's he's a regular reader and writer and About how that quarterback class class. We don't need a quarterback and Patrick Mahomes. I got a text yesterday. We shouldn't straight after Patrick Mahomes. And he's just phenomenal player so That's my thoughts in that game. An amazing draft class. That was 'cause you had a teams trading for Shawn Watson teams trading for the chiefs he's trading up for Patrick Mahomes even even the forty niners Traded back and really took advantage of the Chicago bears to go one spot to get Mitchell trubisky which A lot of people are like well. They didn't have to do that. The forty niners taking many ways. But you gotta remember somebody else could trading trading. Let's spot right just as easily so I mean they wanted they. That's the guy they wanted. They went in and look for them. but I tell you what Mahomes Mahomes is to me. mahomes is the guy that is going to be the face of the NFL for the next millennium. Yeah okay wait. I can't say millennium. Stop at the next decade. Okay well you never know how good he could be. It might be. He might be the best player for the next years. We don't know yet it's too. It's too early but he's phenomenal. I mean that that touchdown runny head at the end of the first half. That's one of the most amazing plays of the Twentieth Nineteen Twenty twenty season. As far as I'm concerned it was just phenomenal. And of course he's even an even better passer than that so he should special special player. Let's compare him to Tom Brady. When Tom Brady was was going into his first super bowl? Well Tom Brady he was. I think we were all waiting for the other shoe to drop with him. You know he was just a six round pick. Nobody knew at the time that he would turn into goat at quarterback so I think as far as what we thought of. Tom Brady at the time I I. I assume that drew bledsoe would eventually get a starting job back. That's what I that's what I was thinking of Tom Brady but obviously he. He proved me wrong. Whereas Patrick Mahomes is there's no doubt that he's special in a moment when you see Tony when you see Patrick Mahomes? Do you really think that. Let's what this way. Could he win. With what the steelers reporting on the field at wide receiver and tight end this year which I think he could he would would definitely be successful. But I mean people like tyreek Hill and Travis Kelsey. I mean they're special players in their own right so I don't know if he could if he could have taken all the way Eh but he definitely would have given them a really great chance to advance in the playoffs for sure. I think he actually would have went really far where this esteem. Because I think like I said I keep on saying this all along. I think case keenum would've gone far with his team just because of WHO. This team was a US dealers. Have a much better defense than the Kansas City chiefs. It's amazing though how you bring one guy in where the steelers that really helped solidify everything the chiefs kind of did that too and their defense got so much better when they brought in Tehran. Tyron Matthew Matthew. Excuse me when they brought him in. That's that helped mahomes out quite a bit but I think mahomes is that guy that can be can can be the cover boy for the NFL. going forward I love watching this guy in Kansas City is not gonNa let them get away. Oh no no they were saying today day that will probably be the first forty million dollar player and I can certainly see that. I can't see how he wouldn't commend that much money on the open market. Nothing he would get the new markets market. But when when it's time to pay up I can't imagine them not giving him that Kinda money. So how did Kansas City win this game. Tony just they just well first of all they are able to to shutdown Derrick Henry finally and it looked like he was going to be the same story in the first.

He's playing with house money He still needs to win and he knows he needs to win but he he's also playing a little bit with with the mindset that he's got nothing to lose and he's just going to go out and do what he can do and he really believes that he can go ahead and win this game. Tony Beffy Yeah when I have a article or Counterpoint article coming out Probably tomorrow and it's saying Cody's point was and I'll give you a little preview Tony's his point was if the steelers just make the playoffs. That's great. Is that good enough but for me. It's not because none of these guys is the fifty three men on this field that addressing tomorrow and everybody else in the organization. They're not only just trying to make the playoffs. They're trying to do some damage. Allah nineteen eighty eighty nine party. Like it's eighty nine If they make the playoffs but they've got a win. I and that's the thing so my question to everybody out there with all all this crap that's happened with the victim shaming with the fact that Pittsburgh started it and they're kind of there's there's some there's some commentators out there that are actually jumping on the Browns bandwagon loving the bad guy love and the villain in the browser definitely villains in this but are the steelers becoming the villains. Here what's happening so let let me ask you this or this. Is this going to be a business as usual game for the steelers or or the browns in their heads because as good as the steelers defense has been it was not sterling silver in the the first half of that game so please let me know and remember we have the live chat here and I will go ahead and take your questions at the end of the show but feel free to let me know if you you do agree or disagree with those questions Steve O'Neill asked to browns fans show up at Heinz field. Yeah I'm sure they do. But if you're trying to get rid of those tickets as a steeler fan before that game after November fourteenth. You weren't because that became a very very very hot ticket so I mean I wish I had opportunity. You GotTa take into that game. I'm glad I didn't buy a ticket because I do feel absolutely horrible right now but I will be watching it. I'll be watching it from a whistle whistle and I cannot wait I M. That's the one thing that's getting me through this little bug the fact that tomorrow at one. PM I canceled my friends. Coming over always have steeler central in my house but I cannot wait for this game tomorrow so I'm hoping that the steelers are go more fired up with this with this game coming up but I hope that it's not their heads that.

"But it's they they they definitely look sharp. Every time somebody changes jerseys. I get I get pretty excited. I guess except for when the Pittsburgh Steelers did it and went to the went to the oval numbers or the rounded numbers. I still hate that this day, and I want them to go back fulltime to those nineteen seventies block. But that's just me. Yeah. I I wish they would it. I don't see. I don't see the big deal. But who knows why they do those kind of things. You know, why they changed it? Right. Do you know the them seizing? So Dan Rooney. Looked at they change in nineteen ninety seven's cornell's first year as a starting quarterback. And the reason they changed is he one of the numbers on the jersey to match the numbers that were on the helmets. I never knew that. Wow. I feel that that I. Found out recently that I read it online recently. I mean, somebody told me about it. And then I read it. Couple of months apart thought that was really interesting. I I would love them to go back to those those blocks though. I don't think. I don't really think that mismatched, but they wanna go get stands, which is either. But with that being said, let's wrap this threat in filial Brown thing, a big bow. Is it going to get worse? Or is it just fade away? I think I think for the Steelers it's it's it's already fading away for him. And for the raiders it's going to get worse. I I'm almost certain of that as I am of me sitting here in this room right now, it's gonna get worse 'cause he is out of control, and he can't be stopped unless somebody stops him. And who that's going to be right now. I'm for who it's going to be either. But it was great to when Vince Williams stepped up and basically each weeded out that if if I know you're if I know your number call you if I know you're Addy how swing by or something like that. And then Jim Hayward respondent eight, you know, my address going by. I mean, they're noticing too. And you can tell that they are completely done with this guy and glad to see him on the left coast and. This makes ju ju and this was something I was trying to go back and talk about when we were talking about gun James Connor thing..

"Or if this is something where the Steelers say look we've had enough. And if this continues to happen, you're going to be gone. I'm not sure how it plays out obviously on Wednesday might thomma will hold his weekly press conference in you can imagine the barrage of questions he's gonna have regarding in Tony Brown situation. Everything from the questionable knee injury. Which some are saying was fake to hide the situation that the story to what are they going to do with Brown? Now does he really want to be traded? Are they going to consider trading him? Are they keeping their options open? I would say that Wednesday's press conference is gonna be must must see television for the Steeler fan base all around the world. But what should the Steelers do in my opinion the Steelers should take into a new Brown, and they should tell them. Look, you're not going anywhere. We're not trading you. We're not. We're not cutting. You we need you on this team. The problem is that we need you one hundred percent and were dedicated to you in finding you some help, and we wanna get I think the Steelers need to kinda sit down with him and figure out. What is it that you want is it a Super Bowl win? Okay. You have great opportunity with the Pittsburgh Steelers to do that. Do you just want nothing, but this accolades 'cause if that's the case will under Randy feeder her that might not be a viable option Randy feeders offense with Ben Rothlisberger. At the helm has shown that they spread the ball out more. Antonio Brown's targets have gone down. Evidently since feet and became the offense coordinator, maybe they need to figure out what Brown is so frustrated with is it the lack of touchdowns can't be. He said a season high for himself and for the Steelers franchise add the position is it that his receptions of gone down. Yes. But he was still over one hundred receptions for the season. What about yardage he and juju Smith Schuster both head over twelve hundred dollars receiving and they were one of only a few teams ever do that in the modern era in the National Football League. So as the Steelers organization, I would say in Tonja, what is it that you want? It was at the team end EP where you upset because you've won four of those already is it is it the juju species for one the team MVP because if so why is that so important is it a frustration about the team in that you lost in New Orleans despite your huge day, or is it that you just don't wanna be here anymore. This is the the discussions they have to have with Brown. But in my opinion, in this is just my opinion. Trading is not an option releasing giving a straight out release is not an option Antonio Brown needs to be a part of this team. But he needs to be a part of the team in the right way. He needs to be a good teammate. He needs to take other players under his wing like others him like Hines ward. Even Mike Wallace early in his career. He needs to be the example if the Steelers want to win a Super Bowl their best chances to do. So we'll be with Antonio Brown. Not without if the Steelers can go into the offseason knowing the Brown is on the team. He's in the right? His he is in there his right mental state and that he is one hundred percent bought into this team to this organization. I think they have very good chance of adding the pieces necessary around him offense and defense of -ly to be legit. Chitimia contenders. In the National Football League. If Brown pallets his way out of town. It's going to be a huge backwards in the waning years of Ben Rothlisberger career. So regardless of which side of the fence, you stand out they keep him. They trade him or release him under. I think everyone could understand the Steelers are way better with him then without him. So at this point, thank you for listening to the debut of the Steelers burning question now is when I say if you're watching live on YouTube good of the comments action, and let us know what you would do with Antonio Brown. Would you keep him? Would you cut him? Would you trade him? If you're watching liar listening on borrow behind the curtain dot com. Leave us note in the comments action. "Doing good. Oh, no. They happen. Here you go some some filled linzie love because it was nice to feel like we might have actually had. I know he wasn't drafted might have actually hit on a decent draft class last year. Obviously clearly to tell always taking a lot of flack for some draft classes over the past five years and really like what I'm seeing from job and Freeman and Lindsey was undrafted. But also Josie Joel put in the middle Milan. Baecker spot. He's been starting Lassie game. So it's it's definitely exciting to see these these young guys step up for Denver. I liked courtroom citing a lot to and some of the tight end. But you know, it was a unique game. I mean, it was definitely miss inventive. I've seen the Broncos play calling on offense. Some of those misdirection plays. I Tony Romo really pointed out that really they weren't beating the Steelers defense as much like straight up head to have they ran that some success. Running the ball. But a lot of the bigger pass plays were very creative play design the yesen fake screen for the dump it in the middle of the tight end some of the the fake bubble screens and things like that where they were leaking guys scene and that stuff that really they definitely game plan for this week. So I definitely interested to see what you think about the Steelers game play on offense though. And why you felt they threw they threw the ball so much. Well, join you know, we we hit on this earlier in the show, but we were teasing it for later in the theme of tonight's podcast is or the Steelers using James Connor right and lucky I realized he he did have that fumble. But I cannot I'm not complaining about fifty four yards on the amount of carries that he had. He averaged right at four yards a carry. And here here's the thing though. I'm complaining about the carries. And the reason I'm complaining about the carries is every time that he has wonderful teen carries. This team loses. I know it's a setup the it's it's a setup the run with the path type of league now. But Pittsburgh does very well when they set up the the past with the run, and so in this situation, I wanna see them us honor Moore, and Tony I'm gonna ask you Tony. Do you think that they are utilizing corner the wrong way? Like I do. I think they're deserving him. Now because I think they're afraid that they're not gonna happen for the playoffs based on what happened to them in the past. They've lost so many running back at the end of heading into the place. I think they're afraid of that again. And I don't think it's much of a coincidence that this all started when heavy unbound when deadline passed so I think that's do. I think using them long. Yeah. Because. So much of their their offense was bell it flowed through through James Connor whenever whenever having success against against the Browns against the foul Cowan's against you know, ravens Bengals. Passing is tight ends and receivers and. Like they were at the end of the beginning of the year or middle part of the year when they were having their best assist on offense. Are they using them on? I don't know. Because again, it all comes down to this statement yesterday, if they don't make those mistakes, and it's a masterful performance. So I don't know if the using them wrong, they're definitely using them mice differently. And I don't know what what we can expect now five games they keep his preserving him. Or are they going to let them loose like like they did the middle of the season. I guess what the find out. Hopefully, hopefully, it'll it'll be positive what they decide to do..

"He caught eighty five passes. He was targeted one hundred six times. That means the Steelers were intending to give him the football four hundred and twenty seven times. And he ended up getting it four hundred and six times he was a second leading receiver on a Pittsburgh Steelers. What is love EON bell saying I deserve my money, and I don't deserve to be treated like just a running back. I pass catch out of the backfield. I'm a primary target for us the injustice the doing the running backs eight fair. Y'all give us the ball all day every day, you run us into the ground. And then you throw us out like yesterday's trash the second birth certificate touches thirty. So I'm not going for that. I spoke to Levy on bell months ago. I would know this. He specifically said it ain't just about me, Steven A. It's about all running backs. That's what he said. And he meant it and he's not playing and it's not just about dollars. It's about principle with him. I understand. And I agree with him. Especially when I watch Adrian Peterson perform and he's thirty five years. Oh, why are we writing off at age thirty like they do not play this because there are running back. It. Ain't right. I got it. The problem is. Levian bell has mishandled this entire situation. I am a person that was totally against those offensive lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ramon forced to and others. I thought they flat out, but trade him. I'm not saying because of how they feel I'm saying because of their willingness to express what they expressed publicly. I thought that was a travesty and that they should be ashamed of themselves to doing what they did. Without question. And I stand by that. And it's important that everybody understands that. Here's the flipside. That didn't excuse levian bell. For sending Instagram photos or footage is or whatever it was a him jet skiing and south beach while Steelers struggling. At he was happy about it. That didn't excuse Levy on bell for sending out cryptic tweets periodically remind everybody that he was still around. He was still available knowing good and Dan. Well. That was going to rub some of his teammates to wrong way who warrant the ones the providence of his money. And I must say this loud and clear. When my Tomlin of all people says in an interview, we want volunteer's, not hostages. It doesn't get more indicting than that. And the is a possibility is great as levian bell is and as much as we imagine that he will get his money because his talent warrants getting his money. We must concede. That it is entirely possible, and it is entirely plausible..

"That's where my disrespect for him live now. Here's something I keys Todi is it's seems that the Steelers might be more than willing to go ahead and put the transitional tag on him next year, which is a much different tag. Now if they lose it, they put the transitional tag on him and they lose him. They don't. Get that third round pick as compensation. However, they get an opportunity to go ahead and match any offer he gets. So you gotta think that. You know, based on the salary this year, and if teams are looking at that, he could actually not earn as much as you thinks he's going to get. And if a team comes in to, we'll give you twenty million guaranteed. Maybe fifteen a year. That's something Steelers say, well, we could have very easily given that they could go ahead and sign him. He'd have to report, you know? Yeah, they can go ahead and that's for that feeling. He would have report. So very interesting. Go ahead. That's something very easily could happen. And I read some reports for they might be willing to do that, but a lot of the reports surrounding living on bell have been, you know, just speculation and no one seems to know what he's doing, but I would even entertain doing something like that and take control back, which is is something that I think they're willing to do. Because the one thing they're not willing to do Tony, they're not willing just to drop the tender because that gives him what he wants, they would rather lose. 'cause I had a bunny say to me today, why don't you just get Trump the tender, not have to pay him anything in that he won't come back and you get to have that money for cap space next year. 'cause Bros over which that's all well and good, but terrible precedent. If you go ahead and do that. I mean, if you do that, that means anybody. Could hold a team hostage like this to get out of that last year or get out of a franchise take, and he goes inside. So the big money and gets what he wants. And I for me, I, I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of winning because this has become a game of chicken. It's become a pissing contest what it's become. And I really I, I would rather. You know, have him there in not not giving him the fetish faction of leading a team like Cleveland or a team, like. The colts go ahead and overpay for him. So with that being said, you know, I hope that doesn't happen, but what are your thoughts on the possibility of that. I think I think I don't think there they would do that. I think they've learned her lesson with him in terms of of the kind of, I don't say, I don't say, I don't think he's a bad person or anything like that. I just think he he was all the wrong way, and I think they learned your lesson that once you if you franchise tag a player once, don't do it a second time, just let them let them if you if you if you can't reach a long term deal on the first time, then let them go into free and see the second time. So I don't think they would. They would transition tagging beginning, make sure like you said, you're not gonna get anything for him anyway, and and and and why would if James Connor proves to be a really good running back if maybe not living on but really running back, they, they don't really need to have him back so, but you're right though? I, I don't. I, we send him tag it this point, you're, you're setting yourself up for another James Harrison. Situation and and I don't think they would do nothing but hurt them or it could hurt them in the end time for probably off contender. I would. I my money that he would go to New England. I would bet I would bet a lot of money that he would be New England, Patriots if they did that. Yeah, he's, he would be a nice Renner player for them and he would do it just as way to shove it in the Steelers faces. And and and you know, knowing that he would would be a free agent.

"I mean, we have the defense, can't they're afraid to do anything. So with that in the fact that the Steelers defense is still suspect at best, you know you, you have that feeling that you just there's none left in the league defense is dead in the National Football League. What do you think. Well, it's definitely it's definitely getting. It's it's, it's on his deathbed. That's for sure. You know when you anytime you can hold a team to isn't it funny now that if you hold a team twenty one points like a good defensive effort, you know, it's just it's just so amazing and we didn't. It's crazy is this rivalry has been between these two teams. It's funny that we didn't see more crazy hits and questionable calls yesterday. More. It was a pretty pretty good hard hitting game, especially by the field. I thought they, they all they all played the Bengals pretty much the whole game, but they definitely better defensive team. So I it is. There'd be affects, but they were also victimized by a lot of would feel special teams, especially at the end of the first half. I think that was that was ridiculous. I don't know if a weather related decision or just a strategic decision to kick the ball short the air soon after they went up fourteen seven. But yeah, the defense wasn't it's best game, but it wasn't. I don't think that bad either. I think it was a fairly decent performance against a really good often friend. Okay. So let's stay in that realm. This is usually when we go ahead and give grades. So you just talked about the defense I will have to say, is my defense. Valedictorian is probably yours. It's gotta be Joe Haden because he kept that he kept that game together for that team. So I would go ahead and you know, they still twenty one points. They looked scary at the end. They were falling apart. We've got problems on the on the other end of Hayden with mostly with Artie burns in even sensible, but I'm looking at throwing them still a. b. b. minus. What do you think. Yeah, I was gonna. I was gonna say about it'd be your, it'd be minors. I think. I think that's fair. You know, I, I think had a. Again, you know, I think like you said that the shake defense look. I think we're at the end of the game. I think that try a little bit little bit too easy for my taste and and probably the other three or the other two touchdowns for setup I should field. So that makes you feel a little bit better. You're right Hayden, definitely develop contrarian. Again, he says he just means so much that secondary such a hold AJ green eighty five yards on seven catches. I mean, that's not, you know, it's a pretty decent game for for for him, but it's not a breakout, you know game either. So, yeah, I agree with you about Haiti. As far as hardy burns, I I don't don't know know. where can you go? I mean, it's either him or sense of all. You really can't be much else on that side of the ball unless you try to elevate Cam Sutton and he had his hands full yesterday with tight end. So. Who knows what you can do about about the defense at this point? I mean, as far as the other side of the the other cornerback at this point, but, but I, I definitely agree that be an accurate. Great. Decent. Okay, great. And you know the offense, really. That's a good defense. I know a lot of people disagree, but I think Cincinnati has has a tough defense, man. They were decimated by injuries yesterday during that game. But this is what I'm gonna say about them being decimated by injuries that could have been caused by the Steelers, the Steelers offense of line out physical, that defensive line and that team in general..

"So what are their foreign one? But there do for for a bit of a fall in the Steelers. Just have this. This this spelled over them. They're like, like I said, a couple of times they're, they're the Steelers and the Steelers, patriots. Basically, it's like no matter what's going on between the two teams Steelers always find a way to win. And and I looked to happen next week and I look for good three to one in the by, how do they beat Cincinnati. How do they be any. What are they to beat Cincinnati. What did that yesterday they have to get after they have to get after any belt. And first and foremost they have to they, they can't let him sit back in the pocket that to me, that's the key. You have to keep doing what you've been doing. You have to set the tone on defense and you have to. You have to put Joe Hayden on AJ green and and have him do what he did. I mean, it's easier said than done, but that's how that's how you start. You have to. They have great friend, seven, obviously, you have to keep in clean, it's it's probably not gonna be a an easy game. There's no way it's gonna be. It's gonna be like, it always is. It's gonna be a back and forth affair, and you have to keep a close going into the fourth quarter. And that's that seems to be when the Steelers magic over the over the Bengals takes place is late in the fourth quarter. So I tell you beat them and keep it close and you pull it out at the end. The guy we the watch once again is Joe Hayden on AJ green. We saw him do it last year. You know, we saw him do it to holy Jones just yesterday. And if that's the case, say Steelers twenty eight. They most twenty four and I agree with you, go for the victory, your three, two and one that point. You'll be a half game behind Cincinnati, but you have that head to head and those two wins that are ro- could really jump start your season. So as far as everything goes, I'm feeling good. I'm feeling that the roller coaster has has run out and it's just the elevator and take it all the way to the sky. I think this team can do it. So thank you, Tony. Once again, appreciate all your efforts and all your insight. I think he'd do Brian is it was a fun show, and it was just like yesterday fan was satisfying, win..
