Said You cannot serve any word about this, sir, you cannot say serving watermelon on Juneteenth is a soul food menu when you don't even know the history they used to feed slaves, Watermelon. It costs a lot of people to be upset. People actually wanted to quit. People weren't coming back to work. And according to a local media outlet, as many as 33 workers did not show up. Now I don't care what they serve the slaves or thank you, my forefathers for what you did building this country that you did. The country was built on your backs. "It's not the next Act Bernie Sanders a question. The Bernie Sanders would love to get is a question about the things that he likes to distinguish himself on from other candidates so for instance he would love to talk about trade with Joe Biden. Any question asking why he voted against against Nafta why he led the charge against TPP. He would absolutely love that because he would train back on Joe Biden and say you know Biden in those instances turned his back gone working class Americans. He would also love to get a question about his plan to erase all student loan debt And to implement Free College. That's a battle that he's been having with Pete Buddha judge over the last few days Alongside Elizabeth Warren who also has similar plans on college student student. Loan debt forgiveness. I think all three of those candidates would just love to get an abroad with each other about that Pete. Buddha judge I think that the Buddha's this campaign feel like they saw their rise. Go up at the same time as when they really escalated their attacks on both Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren around around healthcare. And reframing around this idea of twice and not Cutting people out but bringing people into the Democratic Party and and I think that any opportunity where they can continue to make that argument and I think that the next one would be around higher education and loan forgiveness that they feel like that's the next frame in that story. They're trying to tell and they want to put put them in again in that position where they can sort of drive drive drive home that contrast and and and loan forgiveness is one place where they feel like that's where again like Medicare for all. There are some clear and present differences princes and I I can see him sees seizing on that very quickly. Amy Klobuchar what color wants to discuss. Most is her her electability and her heartland sense is one of the advantages. That club had is that she is not widely disliked while she's not widely early known she's been able to carve out this niche from what we've heard voters in Iowa discuss is that she's not to progressive. She's not too conservative -servative. She's kind of the goldilocks candidate and she's just right in her sensibilities now obviously wants. The heat of an election comes on and more questions about her record record at her rhetoric. Come to the front. That could change Andrew Yang the campaign would probably like them to spend thirty minutes talking about universal basic income. In the the way that it would help different people He also really really likes to talk about automation and he wants to talk about how that has destroyed a lot of jobs in the United States states and he spends a lot of time on the campaign trail talking about how certain jobs are are are going to be gone very soon. Talks about call centers all the time he talks about people that work work at Burger King or McDonald's. They're already automating away. The Front of the house in that the people in the back are going to be gone to. I think he wants to talk about automation And you be. I and Tom Steyer Tom. Sawyer would love a question on one of two things. Climate Change One of the planks of his campaign. You know he says that he's the only candidate onstage. Who's in declare a national national emergency on day? One he would love love. Love talk about climate. Change could do it until he's blue in the face he'd also probably a question on corruption. The other major plank of his platform and his kind of path electability is probably making the argument that he is an electable candidate because he's trying to give power back to the people. He's a pretty extensive election reform platform national referendums term limits members of Congress We forming the FCC so if you can get a question on corruption and Kinda swing it that way beheld him as well obviously lead. The debate hasn't even started yet and yet it's still thrown up. Its first surprise already. A labor dispute involving food service workers and the company that provides food at Loyola marymount university which is hosting the debate has turned into a Democratic primary issue with all seven candidates who are supposed to be at the debate on Thursday night. Vowing that they I will not cross the picket line. which is what's happening on the campus right now as these workers protest in order to participate in the debate so obviously putting a lot of pressure on this company Sodexo Exo to resolve in favorable terms this dispute before Thursday? Night.

"Afterwards for how long we were there for a little under two years. Again. Did you have any student loan debt at that time? Yeah. Absolutely. Off most of it because but then the other the rest of it's like one percent, and it was like, you know, the south. So that's good. So you paid the higher interest, and he put some money in the Bank. He worked at Zanga. You made a decent salary was it fun? It was one of the most educational experiences of my life. But it was also one of the most heart wrenching. Why because you go from extreme kind of independence being your own boss, living, the dream to then were sitting back in an office and working for the man again and you're like, wait a minute, but also to ceiling. So we ended up forming their New York mobile gaming studios that we were just like a factory of games. So the heart heart wrenching part was, you know, we IPO at ten it went up to sixteen bucks, and then within three quarters. We're trading at a dollar eighty five or something like that. So I don't I never went to business school. But I feel like that was my hard knocks NBA, and I realized a lot, I've learned, so much were you able to sell after the IPO or were your shares tied up most of our shares were tied up. And so it was really tough to just to see. You do that game like my net worth on paper and you start tracking it. And then all of a sudden, it goes the other direction you're like I'm never looking at this again. It's kodaly. Yeah. And so, I remember you know, because, you know, I was running the studio at the time, and everyone on, like yahu finance, and like, you know, like Google finance, like refreshing the stock price, and then I got up in front of everyone, I was like next person that I see on Google Yahoo finance, it's not gonna end well for you. And then I go back to my desk, I'm like Google finance. Is it, it really is hard, not to get that. So after the Zinger experience, what happened next. We felt like mobile game developers had this really deep intuition about how mobile customers behaved. And so could we take that knowledge and apply it to a new and bigger industry? Let's say even a bigger a shot and so- co-founders left, we all took some time off and then came back together to make a box. So we wanted to take our mobile knowledge and go after consumer packaged goods and food retail. So what is box and I'll tell everyone why fell in love with chain a second. So box is an online warehouse clubs. So, you know, you take all the big things that you could buy at Costco, BJ's, Sam's Club, except you know, all the heavy stuff we delivered right to your door two days, or less for ninety plus percent of our customers free shipping for ninety seven percent of our customers and overnight shipping for forty three percent of our customers across the country. So it's kind of like bringing that warehouse club. Experience your pocket for you. When you first started the barriers of entry are low, but the barrier. For success is kind of high because you are basically competing against Amazon and everyone else. So talk about that a little bit. Yes. So I look back and I just think what will rethinking you know, in a lot of ways, you know, she's, I mean, we're little bit naive probably a lot of stupid and went after it. And just by sheer luck I feel like the tailwinds of change within food retail within consumer packaged goods kind of blue in our favor. And by year three or four and now you're five we're out of decent scale in a rapidly changing industry, and how's that changing if drill down to the consumer of life? I wanna get a bunch of paper towels and I go on Amazon prime and I click, how is it different than my experience with box, so on Amazon prime in Amazon general, you don't really get like the large items that you would see in a Costco, or BJ's bigger ones, but not the full pack size and a lot of times, not the real value, like, generally, if you shop with box we don't lead with price, but you will save money over Amazon zombie with box on the unit price. We also don't make you build this weird box like prime pantry. Does you have to add the right amount of stuff if you have too much, you get hit with another five ninety nine yeah. Too little you're like, oh man, I had to pay shipping on this. So we also don't don't, don't ask you to do or play that game. So who are your customers, generally speaking, we're wholesaler? So a large portion of our customers are actually. B two B customers really take small to medium sized businesses. It's now invoked to not only provide coffee snacks as well. But once you get to like thirty forty fifty people in office, it's unfair to, to let the office manager, no or put it on their plate to go to Costco, with their own car, and to buy snacks for the company, but you also too small for say a I don't know. A Cisco to come and cater for you or Sodexo. So that's been a niece for us as well. The other folks are, are folks who don't have the time the means or the patient's regular consumers to go to a warehouse club. Yeah. I went to Mark is raising his hand, Mark. Have you ever been to a warehouse club? Never that's amazing. You know, enjoy the lines, Mark. I bought a house almost ten years ago, and I know maybe I should join one of these warehouse clubs you remember which one I use, but one of them whatever I was the worst warehouse shopper in the world because I literally would go in there and like meander around and be like, oh, oh, yeah. Maybe I do need like I just so bad and overwhelming. But if you are looking at the business going forward, where do you think the growth is derived very good question? So B two B has been a real good growth engine for us. Even if you think about large companies, we're starting to, to win go after and win some of those contracts, even here at CBS. I mean probably no one asked. But where does the coffee where does it Creamer come from zone? Absolutely beat the b but also consumers as well because the care of the entire industry, the compound annual growth rate of the whole industry is just at a rate where even if we do nothing. We'd grow at a pretty decent clip. Yes. Something before about like what has changed those last five years? So naval. Growth. Well, five years ago, we get emails all the time saying you guys are psychotic. I'm not putting my credit card in a mobile device, let alone by grocery on a mobile device that was five years ago. But now, it's like it's a no brainer. Why wouldn't I get my spring water in my paper towels delivered instead of schlepping at home that, that is so interesting. And so you can do it from a desktop, but it's mostly mobile. That's right. Yeah. Majority of our sales, come from mobile. So here's how I fell in love with. I was asked to moderate, a panel who sort of being like a workplace issue panel. And it was so interesting and lively, and I was really taken with some of your description about how you have managed some of your workplace issues. And this is why I wanted you to come on the program, not just because you're very sparkling personality, but also because the way you run your business is different. So how many employees do you have? Now, if you count fulfillment center folks were probably into between four to five hundred on any given week, which is. Unbelievable the teach and the the fulfillment center. People are they fulltime employees, or they contract or more now. So we offer when you start as you generally started temp. But right there on the cafeteria tables, same ones that I'd I that you see just the path towards w and what you get if you work hard and you actually become a fulltime plane that's the stock options benefits. All this other stuff that we 4._0._1._K after a certain period of time, we don't match across the whole board. But you do get the ability to get us. We'll get back to our interview in just a second. Hey, you know what you can do during the break. House about us subscribe.

We've seen stock against there as well. The MCI Asia Pacific index putting on nine tenths of one percents and leather, but a weakness in mainland China, but Japan has been leading the way higher with a gain of eight one point eight percent when I look at the Nikkei two to five looking also at the FX space this morning. We are seeing the Bloomberg dollar spot index little changed author. What was a dip in yesterday's session. We are of course, looking ahead to the Federal Reserve meeting a little bit later on ahead of that. We all seeing the ten year treasury yields softened somewhat by about two basis points or so after what was a roller coaster session for treasuries yesterday. Three point two two percent. "What else you had a a friend? Anton dirt loose on Twitter. He said one thing I meant to mention after the ordeal episode. Chinese airlines moping up the pilot ranks here in Russia as well. But instead of offering competitive wages IRA flocks used their clout to make thirties delay critical certification paperwork. So basically, that's how they blocked pilots airflow to turns to go into. It seems like shooting yourself in the foot and since we're in Russia an interesting story because I just said that the other day that air Belgium is at cold so Belgium is one of the new start-up airlines in Europe. They do a Brussels to Hong Kong of first flights which was like maybe two weeks ago a whooping fifteen inches in board fifteen. Yeah. Well, to be honest, I want to fly that because having enough for the council annuity get very good service. What? Premera whatever these new airline said doing they will just cancel the flight. Because guys I'm not saying do not fly them, but the cancelling every single flight as not enough passengers of not sure these attractive airfares, stick sooner region. Guys as long as in business. So so, and it was interesting because I don't know if you guys I know that that to go from Europe to Japan, for instance, Hong Kong Lovie airlines have to go through Russian airspace. Russian airspace is very offered. Our space not sputum beautiful scenery. It's awkward because it's since it was USSR back when they signed this big agreement about over over territory flight, so the rights of flying over all the countries the never signed that. So they find bilateral agreements in the allow airlines to fly at hawk and their policy is the allow usually one single line per country. One exception being the UK both be in virgin half the nation. But that means for Norwegian. It's a problem because SAS he's already has the rights in region starting to spend. Month trying to get because you know, they fly now to Singapore. But that can go below Russia destroying to get all their destinations in Asia. And of course, if they have to avoid your Schnur space that just you know, the fight becomes super super long. Maybe not economy viable, the cannot get it in the the Russians re adamant if like a false has it only lining false as it on your landing in Germany assess has it in Saudi assess is three countries. So that there you go. I think they try to think Norwegian even tried from Ireland this because airlines are not even sure they flying that direction. But for the movies, it's not fly. It's is situation because that that airspace is is and they know it they know exactly what they're doing. You almost wonder if there's I don't know maybe this is the case in there just being obstinate. But there's if there's some sort of neutral third party arbitrary of things like this feels like there should be yet. Nobody there is before. I if I'm not mistaken because you just mentioned money if I'm not mistaken could be guys look it up. I think it's a hundred dollars per passenger flies over on money. So a lot of money. Yeah. That's a lot of money man, which we should wait till? So why would they say only one I get maybe the political implications because that's a chessboard United Sodexo the can put political pressure on a country say, oh, we won't allow anyone else that we won't allow you anymore, and that okay, I've been this political stuff would not go to go there. But purely company cly more airlines MIR more money for it's it's there's that seems a lot more political than than financial the cynic in me says. Yeah, think the also the threatened to cut caloms rights. To do that..
