How To Survive the Coronavirus (Covid-19) Shutdown
"Last Thursday. The Pearl and I got on a plane and flew to Cincinnati. Our children got on other planes coming from three different locations to also attend the same funeral. I was a bit apprehensive getting on the plane. It was packed with individuals that have been attending spring training which had just been cancelled and so now they were returning home. The Corona virus pandemic up until then had always seem a little distance. Something that was happening over there. Seattle Europe China the Pronoun. I had eaten out a few times last week. But then the cancellations started coming in colleges closed churches restaurants entire countries locked down then a cities in the US and yesterday president trump. Encourage that. We don't have gatherings with more than ten individuals in Ohio. We went to the grocery store to buy some food for AIRBNB. Many shelves empty not just toilet paper but pasta beans peanut butter rice chicken Skyline Chili that same day I received an email from. Steve has a listener he wrote. I live in the Seattle area. The epicenter of the Krona virus pandemic in this country. It's fascinating watching the behavior. Changes occurring locally. Thousands upon thousands of people are working from home. Traffic especially during rush hour has disappeared. Restaurants are nearly empty and dozens have closed coffee. Shop like starbucks are no longer gathering places stores have few customers. Schools have closed. Sporting events cancelled. People are not spending demand is dropping precipitously. People's living working and recreational behaviors have changed dramatically and very quickly locally epidemiologists. Don't think the affection rate will peak until late May or June that suggests we have close to five to six months to go before the situation stabilizes who knows I wonder if new behaviors will become ingrained over months of enforced change. I don't think we can assume things will return as they were a month ago with the pace and scope of online shopping accelerate. Well people adapt to eating out much less often with a desire travel for either business or pleasure. Rebound ours is a consumer driven economy when this crisis ends slows down or stabilizes presumably businesses will reduce prices. Spur demand will it be effective or people's consumption habits have changed lead to deflation Steve Concludes. I'm curious as to your thoughts and what we your listeners. And readers should do. Something changed for me this past weekend. The Corona virus pandemic became real. That it's going to require a change on my part and many others. We will have to change our behavior to stop the spread of this virus. What do we do to survive the corona virus? We avoid ruin and help others. Avoid ruin ruin being dying. Having our businesses destroyed going bankrupt not making it through the next three six nine months. We don't know how long it'll be. We have to follow what is known as the precautionary principle. I've discussed it before on the podcast. It's something that Naseem Nicholas Talib. His taught for years. I found an early reference by D. -cribe Oh and his co authors in two thousand one paper in the environmental health perspectives. They right. There are four components to the precautionary principle. One take preventive action in the face of uncertainty preventive action to shift the burden of proof to the proponents of an activity. If someone is recommending something that potentially will cause harm. It's their responsibility to show that it will not cause harm. Three explore a wide range of alternatives to possible harmful actions. What options are there? Which one is less likely to cause harm or to prevent harm from happening to us? Four increase public participation in decision-making as we were gathered with our family in Ohio. We had a family council and talked about what we should do

"But if you bring Alonzo in and this is someone he's comfortable with and you realize it's starting to die out with the Chicago negotiations. Then I guess you have an opportunity to get in it. Sounds like according to Paul Tenorio. tweet he sounds like Chicago just kinda passed they. They looked and they decided that they wanted to go in a different direction which is understandable because Pizarro has a ton of talent but he has not a he has not put it together in terms of consistency in any like entire season? I think you had one pretty great. I think the opportunity with Chievo then. He was awesome in the Champions League and he was really good in Champions League last year as well. I thought but like in terms of week to week performance German's it hasn't been there but also he's a guy who sold for seventeen million dollars or something like that twice in the past three years so and is very consistently a starter order from Mexico in the last year. Yeah so it's is he. Yeah Yeah but this quote unquote team and they're having beds. That's fair a some of the European guys. There's no question. The talent is there with him. Diego Alonzo. Feels like. He could turned him into a best eleven caliber. Player in this league Will you hire Diego Alonzo for a reason. And he's turned players into forty million dollar transfers in the past. And that's that's right and part of this is talking to the manager in Miami had to build for a while without a manager and we add questions over who's GONNA fit. How does it fit but so much of a player? Success does come down onto the manager of the relationships. Tom Martino what he was able to do. In Atlanta United mcdonagh goes out and trust Alonzo to say as Pizarro Guy. That can really be the guy for us. And I'm sure Alonzo says yes. That's maybe why Chicago doesn't WANNA take a risk. Because they don't have maybe the same infrastructure or or setting around player like that and the the bust boom part starts to to not way out in the same type of dynamic especially with that type of price tag attached to him. So I think that's why Miami probably feels more comfortable to take a risk on a player that has a lot out of ambition at one point. It's supposed to be you know going to big clubs all over the world and maybe this is an opportunity for Lonzo to tell him come here. This is your opportunity. This is your path forward. Give me a couple of good years and then we can realize your potential apologize understated. Their relationship they work together. Pachuca as well because Alonzo was the manager so this is someone when he knows very well not just the year or eight months while he was at Monterrey. This is a guy who I think he brought into professional than they sold him for. Seventeen million million to cheer us. Chief is sold him for sixteen seventeen million Monterrey in Monterrey against them for whatever. So this is the guy to Kaelin point that Alonzo's probably knows as well as any current pro player that he would be bringing through kind of a two-time level up there now Atlanta's conversation. Excuse me Miami's conversation always revolves around the sort of do the DP's match sort sort of the vision just called Atlanta not on purpose. Give me a break here have already taught me in Atlanta already. Had Another six seven days does does it. Should we just throw out the window. This idea of Miami as at least initially in this moment being the place where all the sort of glamorous stars this will land because that's sort of either we've been sold that or we have assumed that or we've wanted that somehow from the start of the whole David Beckham and now the Maas brothers my inexperienced experience. There's always been this expectation that they're constantly working against which is that they're DP's will be Cavani. Suarez Dobie a certain Abby Patty international name recognition and Rodolfo. Pizarro is a great player but he might not have that international name recognition. Now he will have it North America. Does it matter. Should we just throw that conversation at the window for L.. AFC Carlos Vela. Maybe different profile than Rodolfo. Pizarro I mean international national global icon. I'm not sure I'd put him in that category that's probably fair and the NFL AFC prove that that mattered. None I guess United United United Comeback. Sorry I think but I think that that soccer fans now are sophisticated enough to to be like we just want an exciting exciting good team and I think if you were to ask the majority of people who are already. MLS FANS I am am. I don't have data on this but I would imagine more of them would be excited to look at like twenty three twenty four year old players. Who you might sell to Manchester United for thirty million in dollars or Newcastle United? For Twenty five million dollars as it is then they would be for guys at the end of their career. The needle like you got to thread the needle in terms of Okay but what about people who aren't mls fans and that's that's the question right. We'll we'll pizarro break into that boarding zeitgeist in in south Florida now Elliott did that in La Atlanta did that in Atlanta without a David Beckham. Tian Re type of signing. I'm sorry Pizarro isn't Almirante. He's twenty seven years old twenty five. No this is just through you on a turn. Twenty six in ten days so he's getting sold for winning getting sold for a big number two big team in Europe. This is his move if he comes here here. This is where he plays until he goes back to Mexico or finishes in. MLS okay. So I don't know that it fits under that category and what I would argue about Alma Roane and I think Valla Valla because of their profile is whether or not they were traditional designated player signings. They were game changing signs. MLS history to the way they signed Al Mirani at the number they did with the plan they did was something we'd never seen before. It was Atlanta putting their foot down. This is who we are and I think Vela at his age his profile as a Mexican Kim national team player coming camels was next level PIZZARRO's not different than Pulido. He's not even that much different than Zeller. Ion Company trump no. He is not a starter for the Mexican national team during the primaries. And there's no zealot he plays more than Pollino and he's for your and he's three years quite going into World Cup qualifying he's back off and he's he's a more important player at a bigger club with bigger price tags Chiba. He was achieve us. Chief success in the past dozen years as Atlantic understood but like she was falling. You look at the Pachuca guys that came out. And you're talking about Shuki and you're talking about Gutierrez. He's not even on that list like he's not what he was three years ago when he played for. Diego Alonso was considered at that level playing under this match but but also windows guys okay. I mean it's not a slam dunk. It's not a tap-in if we want to keep our metaphors. Soccer specific like there are more variables. Variables then I think there was for Avella type signing but like this is not the signing makes sense when the darrow right Ladera. There's no sell on fee coming for him as is thirty years old now but he's two titles on the on the Seattle right right now right so i. I think it doesn't have to be this. Either or of it's an alum your own or or it's or it's worthless right and to me if you bring a player in that you feel that can be the cornerstone of your club. Lack Ladera for a long time at twenty six and you by thirty. He's given you some titles. I mean that would look pretty good they it would probably take that they might they also have captain or at least a former captain of the Columbus crew. The Legend will trap twenty seven years old traded from the crew to Inter Miami Paul again on the front edge of this reporting Hundred thousand GAM and international spot to the crew. Two hundred thousand K.. Double double negative. Two hundred thousand pending performance triggers could also go to Columbus in. This deal feels small but then you have to remember. The Miami are going to eat this. Tam Contract that will trap has and we'll trap is in the final service deal and we'll trap had reported interest from The championship about a year ago. One point to any has the passport so he could. Let's say he's saying you know what I'm I'm GonNa go at the end of this. There's a lot of things that go into that price tag they also made official Nico fee goal from Independiente at recently made the bench for Argentina in friendlies in twenty twenty nineteen one of those against Mexico. He's twenty five years old probably centreback. And then I just. I just need to make this point on if you want something. That really illustrates the shift shift in perception in MLS towards MLS from Latin America. Over the last five years Nico fee. Gall is in his prime as a soccer player and and he's trying to make the national team the Argentine national team if he had come to. MLS In Twenty fifteen two thousand sixteen that would be he would never like they would never have looked at him again again but he still came here because he knows and we saw last year with PT. Pete he's still got called into the national team camps for Argentina last year and taught that casinos by playing when Welfare NYC AFC made himself a regular for the Argentine u twenty. Three's so if you want to like something that crystallizes the shift in perception of this league and the shift shift in reality. I think as well the fact that players like fi gall are signing here. Now Lewis Morgan from Celtic also signed winger seems more like a depth play. You you would think but maybe get some spot starts tedious. They felt the roster and Matteo Villa. Santi who we've heard about with Atlanta a lot from potato reportedly there in the running for him too but Right now the pizarro deal as we tape this. TVD feels like it's trending towards. Yes trap has done. It was done. Morgan is done. They're pushing forward and we talked about the fact that will trap just got acquired. Three hundred thousand dollars one hundred probably. I'm looking at Vancouver Houston Oursel- New England. I'm wondering where those phone calls were and and I get if you're Columbus you've got to do right by a guy who's really mattered for your club from your city especially with what he went through with the potential of moving and how I stayed a rock is part of that but shocks me that that's the going price for weld trap right now. All right we got to Get Out of here. Album is coming up in just a second after that sounders third DP appea- more of the news dump in the mail bag..

I would try my best to help the team to to be successful as much as we can and Yeah we have goals. And I hope that the Heineken help necessarily see. What did you think about joining a team? That's brand new. Because you come from European soccer where that's not right so it's heads it's a big thing and I think it's a really really great opportunity also for player And we of course we have goals we want to compete directly and Yeah fits to my gold. Did you have any trepidation additions. Any worry that coming to a team that doesn't have years and years to sort of figure themselves out or they get the processes right or was it. No no no. Oh this is this is something for me to build in my career an opportunity like you said yeah I think I think You can create a lot here because it's a new club and damn yeah you you can help them to build it. That's amazing it's not. You cannot do that everyday as a football player or a soccer player. I saw the private jet the. PJ as we call it they. I flew in on you. Got The you got the treatment right. Would you take a Nashville. Yeah was was great. How they treat me how? They disposed directed the coach a To See Your Day Radi wanted me so yeah it was. It's a great feeling for player that you feel directly Treated well and so. I'm really excited to start with national. See and be successful. Who Have you talked to? Have you done. Sort of like that on the ground research where you're calling your buddies shooting some tech so just one friend George Arena in Vancouver and yeah I played with him. Southward precise assize book. And he's a good friend of mine so we was talking a lot about it and he's he just told me good things and so we had decision in the end was easy like I told you. What have you heard from the GM? Your Mike Jacobs. You have different veterans now on the team. Have you spoken teams. Have you met your teammates. H. E. Not much. But yeah with Mike Jacobs I. I spoke a lot especially in the beginning. And Yeah We. We had a good relation so he gave me a good feeling. What was the cell like somebody comes to me and wanted to move to a new country and says okay? This is the opportunity. I'M GONNA be asking a lot of questions questions were you asking. Of course what what the goals are and where they see me and where they see Nashville I see and Yeah we want we want to compete and ask football player especially me. I want to win. So hopefully we'll we great. What's next for you in your career as you make this move? Why is this the right move for you right now as you sort of plot it all out? Yeah I'm twenty four and I still space to improve and specially especially the major league. Soccer was growing a Lotta last year. Said they will grow a lot the next year. So that's it fits perfect to me and I'm twenty four I can. I can develop a lot and hopefully we develop together. What do you think you're going to develop? What are you looking to do here is it adding goals? Is it adding production winning championships and winning winning. That's that's about it football I think. Of course Yourself you have to play good and S- cogos make assist this but in the end it's about winning and titles so that's who were you like. Who are you as a person supposedly? Yeah what do you like to do man. What's your I liked? Liked to play fever really like I have my own how you call it lake. Do you stream in no no no. It's too bad for that but Yeah I like to play playstation in my my free time so yeah you have the ultimate team. What do you do ultimately not meeting with? Who are the players that you build your team around name? I WanNa how can you do you get yourself into that team you know. Oh you so it's nice. What do you expect when you moved to Nashville? How were your life change? Will you bring family with you. Will you bring a wife or girlfriend. Kids kids maybe not no not yet but yeah of course My parents want succumb to the first game against Atlanta so Yeah I think think I will be alone but of course My my best friend. He think about it to come to live with me in the beginning but yeah I I was see we have one month preseason so afterwards I would make his decision road figured out exactly. What are you looking forward to the most as you plot out the season yet the first game you have Atlanta you have a new city to explore? What are the things on? Your sort of personal check was for me the first game against Atlanta is now because it's close it's close and so yeah. I'm really excited to to play the first game in Conway to start all right. We can't wait to see you. Komo tar thanks for joining us. Many big expectations in Nashville for Hani Mukhtar. They brought him on. PJ after all the preseason result that mattered Kinda into for this episode is nil. Nil Draw for Nashville. Elf's Burger think in their first preseason friendly so we have the roster here the lineup. I should say in in the first half Joe Willis started in goal back. Line was Eric Miller. Dave Romney Giuliani Baba and Daniel Lovett's in the midfield. Excuse me what what's written down. But Dan low. Oh it is written down Dan Lovett. That was our web. You're like hey school friend. Who happened to go to the same college when someone tries to recreate themselves? And they're like. Hey I'm like I'm Reggie now. It's like no your James Reginald right. It's like no one causing I couldn't I'm sorry just yeah Antaboga DAX McCarty Mukhtar. Alan Win In the midfield winning online probably wingers here and then biology center Dominic Budgie up top. What do you think of that news? RUN OUT NEEDS WORK NEEDS NOT ENTIRELY Shocks that team ended up scoreless scoreless so we gotta say Rendell. Obviously Costa Rica That's a big one who will be in the starting lineup. I don't know that was mainly what I say and they have a Colombian centreback. I I think yeah hasn't been in. Maher is not in there as well. BECKLES is not in the old beccles played in the second second mayor played in the second half is I don't know that beccles is the style. RIA or Becca less checklist. Probably thank you. I appreciate you so yeah me out there. All Right Ralph Bizarro. Inter Miami as on your phone as redefined. It a played against him. He's actually an. He's got an incredible story. I know maybe going into the tactics. But I'm just GONNA hijack this gopher he's been to watch out because you don't WanNa losing episode of the Movement. Yeah okay maybe I'll tell you I'm just warning you. How much content you let me? How how do you want to check? I WanNa work with him. He's a really interesting guy. I'll even put that in the ether but that out there need to come to Nashville this year. It's absolutely out there. Get this man in Nashville. But I'm going to the opener if anybody is. If there's a openers too intense for me so you can handle that RUDOLFO PIZARRO TO ENTER MIAMI. The rooms are heavy so oh Chicago. You had the rumors for a long time. Now you don't have the rumors and Monterey Sporting Director Deleo Davino you may know them from. FC Dallas also L.. Three in many big clubs in Mexico said in an interview in his stopped car a classic classic trope. That is that Piso likes. It's the idea of Inter Miami but the transfer will depend on Miami matching buyout clause that he's not for sale necessarily he just has a buyout. How close and if you match that of course then what can we do? It triggers the clause. If he wants to come well I guess Rodolfo Bizarro is coming. So what What does this I mean? Is this a good thing. There's been so many names that we've cycled through with Inter Miami. It's hard to keep it all straight. It's hard to figure out where they're actually going. misdirection deals deals fall through money. That's too much but awful Pizarro and why so one thing is. He played for Diego Lonzo at Monterey so he'll be very familiar earlier with the coach and as one of probably the if not the foundational signing they'll be in lockstep. He is more reliable and more consistent than Roger Martinez artnews would be in terms of like this. Is Your one big DP that you're building around. You really going to apply the term consistent to Pizarro over Roger Martinez Okay Initiative the Heat Roger Lane. I understand the flaws and Roger Martinez. I just refused acknowledged them did though. But it's yeah continue and I guess you could say he fits into the pieces they have currently. I don't know how much that matters in terms of this one big signing in that he could probably play on the wing. If that's what they WANNA put him or he could play in a midfield maybe alongside Lee win to start the year or instead of him so all of those things make sense. Seems like we've talked about it already on on the show. It seems like a lot of money for a guy who has alluded to. He covers a ton of ground. I think he works pretty hard for an attacking player. He'd normally isn't the guy with the final pass. He's normally not the guy who scores the goals goals and I guess you could say what she was the leader but he hasn't really been the guy for any of the teams he's played for and it looks like his national team. Career with Mexico has sort of stalled. So there's a surprise to see that this is the guy..

"It was an left with also so I read an interview with you. You're in before the Hof and high move and you said you were looking back to getting to be the player that you were at. PSV SV what about Brighton. What about Hoffman? Heim didn't work out. What's been missing for you over the last two years or so does time to slay take time? I the Games I play. That's what my goals in the primarily legal but Sometimes it just ended on the bench for for no reason so my goal us like the play all the Games and trying to be important for the team school my goals and defensive your goal score the first thing fans need to know any signature celebration anything that fans should know about coming into it Not Not really. I'm just a regular guy in your regular guy but you're also I look. I checked out the Purple Heart EP. This morning I'm just going to throw it out there. I listen to the DP. It's good stuff man. It was a a good vibe from my morning. Tell people about your musical career. It's your great soccer player. Obviously but you're multifaceted your I've thought it may community like two years ago and I think lately getting more serious I had almost like a feature only thought we lanes also. But I didn't get through. I'm just waiting for US locals my next released. So it's getting bigger right now and the music videos It's pretty it's pretty man. I it looks like it's pretty high budget. This is not hobby stuff. You are truly truly pursuing Innis. Where do you think it can go? I hope that end up as a DJ. That's like mustache and you know now last one for you before we let you go and I know you have a lot of media eighty to do today as you get introduced to. Cincinnati is a big one locker. Do you know what Skyline Chili is. Let me explain it to you and you can tell if you if this sounds good to you appetizing. Maybe you'll get it. No don't do that. It is spaghetti with Chili on top. Do you know what I mean when I said Chile like American Chile right chilly chilly. Like beans and grief and Spicy Chili on on on Spaghetti. Not a good mix. It doesn't sound good on paper but we just got it but this is a big thing in Cincinnati man so you'll try and then later in the year we'll get back to you we'll so you felt China get them caught up our local. Just always say you like it. Don't even you don't even have to ever tried like humour you say one more thing before we let you go. I am the proponent of all things concacaf you do have the ability potentially represent curious how they are rolling rolling right now. They've been playing very well. Is there any possibility that that could happen. I mean if I show my qualities year Liz you never know if I get like all from the Dutch folks you know so I I love to eat my options open okay. Okay just know that I know put options open human failure. We'll have to talk to room. Having put the Hartselle on your hell. Israel now between Cincinnati and Columbus Jurgen Locadia. Welcome to MLS man. Thank you sir appreciate it. There's very TNT not called the field some more chats coming up with honey Mukhtar as well as Albert Reuss Nak go check out the purple. Or I'm telling you it's pretty good like I was drinking my coffee offi putting the rundown together jammed to some loca as we now know because we're boys we share so we have the ability on the show to put it like picture in picture with the music video. I don't know but they're sweet. Have you seen him. He's wearing flowing white shirts. And you know looks like there's wind. He's not actually the one singing right. He's the DJ. So he's putting it altogether but Let's talk about Cincinnati and big picture because as we said before we went to your skin it feels different. Feels like they are in the midst of sort of changing who they are on the soccer side. Of course they changed the leadership it change executives and this was coming. What a reasonable expectations in twenty one first of all I just love that This is that time of year. It's the most joyful beautiful time of year right now. Everyone's good reason camp has just opened. All the coaches are telling everybody. Hey we WANNA play play beautiful football this year. Enjoy your football and then like three weeks in you go on a trip down to Mexico you play some free preseason friendlies if you lose four five nothing and it's it's like back to the drawing personal experience can I just around here. That was the part I think I read the death of interview where he was like. Yeah we got like killed like seven zero and breezy and it was never the same and it's like it had never started. It was never anything night camp. I will say an interview with you. What was it like maybe three weeks ago? Oh He It was brilliant. It was absolutely brilliant stuff that he was very honest and it was like words. Are Words anything I say to you. And he's signing I make doesn't matter. We have to actually put in practice come March whatever I think. They think they're March I. Maybe when they play the first game. So what's reasonable is playoff flirtation reasonable Kubo Cardio you now look they got to new centrebacks mean they send pederson on a free out of I I think it was Weeden. They in the back end. Yeah Medina in crews will go back to the you think they're going to get another ten so for starters. I think one if we learned anything from last this year with San Jose you work hard and you have a cohesive idea being competitive again to the playoffs and major league soccer should be like a baseline given on top of that. I would argue that. They've added talent in seems like cohesive way with an idea of how a team specifically will play. You've got a few left backs who can get pretty high up to feel the guy in in Kubo who likes the Pinch Shannon PL- underneath a forward you've got a big strong powerful athletic forward who has great feat as locus said he can shoot from distance but you can also also get inside and then you've got a deep lying playmaker who you'll hopefully protect with guys who can do some running for him at guy. Alain crews that if he takes another step could be a very good player in this is league alongside of them. And then I've heard pretty good staff about Peter's Pederson as you mentioned and they brought in Vander Wolf vetiver and if you go at the end of last you mean he he got. He had some tough moment. That's okay moments one hundred percent. I was the Joseph Martinez goal. ISO So it's just yes. They are better man for man on the field. They have a coach who's working with GM in lockstep of the type of talent. He wants now coming through a full. preseason that can work with this team so everything points to them being getting more competitive teams. Mls Get things wrong all the time so I not one hundred percent show and you will also overstate the dysfunction. That was was there for the first couple months of the season last year. And then you cannot. You cannot overstate your expansion team. Who is firing your coach? What was it was it nine nine nine? Eleven Games nine ten eleven Anthony Hudson and now. I'm Mike Confusing was. He was so short. That is the ultimate in dysfunction. You went through a whole preseason which all the reports were plans ideas hierarchy within the squad was changing on a daily basis. You let your coach go you wipe your front office. You bring in a new front in office you bring in a new coach. You can't make that many changes to your roster which wasn't good enough and we had said that over and over and over and over so last year in many ways I feel like not something to throw throw away but something to look at with very open eyes and say yes. There were some extenuating circumstances. Can this team make the playoffs or is it just flirtation. Is there a playoff playoff team in here. Let's say they signed this tennis Moroccan guy who's been out of contract. He plays on the right. Yeah or he plays on the right. Whatever might be or you want me to guarantee guarentee right now? We like they look like a better team but like the the transfer window is even officially open yet and the as not signed. There's going to be a raft raft of signings across his league in the next two or three weeks. Cincinnati looks like a better team. It's so like it's so hard to say. They look like a playoff team right now because we have no idea what like most of the other. Thirteen teams enamel in the Eastern Conference are going to look like okay. Woke up put a number on it trying to nail you as down. Oh you want a goal scoring. I thought you were asking him another quite. Obviously I'll make the over under twelve and a half over and over. I liked the is over to go under. I just think it's tough with looking at that offense offense last year. I know they'll have more pieces around but I think I would set the market ten thinking get right around there. That would be a success for me. Maybe I'm going over. I'm going over and over and under no I just I just make wine. You're just being back right out. All right honey Mukhtar. Another year one project in Nashville. He will be ten for them. I chatted with him in La. Let's take a.
Jurgen Locadia on Cincy transfer
"Let's get into the big news today. You saw him arrive at the airport in Cincinnati Yorgen Locadia. He is on loan as designated player for six months. Then it's a two and a half year deal tacked onto the back of it. The option basically weekly for since he to make it permanent is one of many loans for designated players including the sounders recent DP signing come through major league soccer right now a little bit of a trend. I'd like to know more about that. Perhaps ask somebody or somebody will report it looking at you. Tom bogaerts substantial poyton. Oreo that would be nice out and Tom in that. I figured you know for people out we might as well. Yeah you know. What's motivating era? I taught management is exactly they still have a deep part do Cincinnati because he's moving into a new season. He is exempt from from the fee for maximum. Three club rule because he was at Brighton. Hove and then. He went on on the half and then he scored four goals in twelve games. We didn't really play after the winter break and now he is is coming this way but they allow it because it is a new season for him twenty six. He was a twenty million dollar player two years ago this time from PSV quick reactions actions before we chat with you again. What do you think this is different? This is not Cincinnati of of yesteryear. These are different profile of players. Both him in Kubo and rumors were Pereiro. And they're linked with Moore. They now feel to. DP's at this. They told you right Nike told you it was GonNa Be Three D. Peas right. He said they will get a ten okay in this window now whether it's a right now with Moroccan player. WHO's out of contract here? But yeah now be a DP. Yeah so I uh I don't think they can play an actual ten in that midfield to be honest with you. I don't I don't think you could play a true Tan and Harrison's union together in the same three man midfield you need to ball-winners like get creative by you create scoring chances by winning the ball and transition and quickly and by relying on your wingers and ability to release wingers into space but anyway As for Locadia does feel a little bit like Joseph Martinez is in that. He's in his prime player. Justice was a little younger when he signed with Atlanta but in in his prime player who was maybe not in the best situation in in a decent club in a top four league the talents. There we see you can just watch his highlight film. You see the now and you look at the numbers he put up with. PSV SV is the type of move that this is why you hire guys like Nike Camp in Ron's because they have the connections to make moves like this and there's a lot of sense and then you mentioned I think the idea like the thought process behind it which feels new and the little. I've seen of him. He likes to drop coffin. Connect a little bit more and Kuba. We know as a guy who's GonNa float in and plans like a second forward really so now you're doubling down with a concept of this is how we play this how we create chances. Says you let those guys work together. You and you may Kubo's life easier. You make his life easier and I agree with you. There seems to be some good upside to the signing. And there's also runway to make it a twenty six years old a guy who hasn't been in good situations if he's happy if he feels comfortable you've got a few years with him and I liked the fact that they brought him in now now and didn't wait the six months for him to finish out the spring and see where he's at in the summer and maybe save a little money on that like get him in preseason make them a part of this team make them apart Ron Yawns Don's group going forward absolutely all right. Let's talk to him. Look there's only one thing better than the March Cincinnati and that's new signings Dave and they that's true. The march is the best thing that happens in Cincinnati. All right. Let's welcome you're welcome to the show you're GonNa what's up man curry. We're doing really well. We're loving what. FC Cincinnati is putting together including when you let's start with the obvious which is why you're Y Cincinnati. Why molest what was behind this decision for you Robin in Austin often. So I love. I love the people here and I know the League is getting bigger lately so what's the simple simple decision from. The Communist was fast moving process. Was this months of sort of build up or did this happen recently. For you Like a week. I guess I heard about it like a week ago. And he'll have happened like in three days days. Maybe so when this happens when the aging agent wherever it is calls you and says FC Cincinnati Major League soccer on your side as a player. What do you do do you go start watching highlights? Do you go start reading. Do you make phone calls to your friends or you hit up you. What are you doing First thing I did was like calling a friend of mine plays Columbus Room. Yeah I called him and buddy say did he have positive things to say. Yeah definitely told me like the people. Good the fine people Ohio's nice and the rhetoric might as well League's getting better every year here. So it's a nice since you signed. Did you guys having a little banter now with the guys are arrivals. I heard what about Columbus Cincinnati arrivals. What was the pitch from the club side from FC? Cincinnati jared nine camp coming in. What did he say to you? What was it that maybe got it over the line of why you want to be part of this project Supply joined. MLS like was he says. Ago Of last season Basically from from the start so I Like the project It's all new for new for the people you know for the fans and and people for the club and I WANNA be a part of it you know to build something new and pre new memories and you know maybe in the League enough and also that's why I you know I wanted to join it's new and it's a great starting to make new memories you know as someone who came up obviously born in Holland and through Holland. How much did it mean to you that it was nine campaign Ron's yawns that are putting this together? Did you know them at all. Before I new on yawns I play the games against him. And all this and You know that's the first time I met Girotti. Are you a centre forward. You're going to attend. I think you're going to wear the number ten but I look at the depth chart and I look at your background and I think they need to centre forward. Where do you think you'll play? Where do you WANNA play I I'm a Senate floor but I like to down the left side also like behind the striker and doesn't matter for me as long I play my games. You know trying to be important for the same. Can you describe what you're for people who haven't seen your highlights watched you play a in the Bundesliga the primarily air disease. Can you describe what type of forward you are like. What is your favorite way to play? In what the fans can expect back from you I'm like a strike like my go directly to go. You know no shortcuts. Just make my action step over and and just shoot on target and I can shoot from distance also

"Guessed it on the news. So how do we. What do we do? It's so it's a push I take your money. No it's a push josh. Now it's not a push push that's why we do the Jerry. Hey why would you say We were on up. What okay? What's now we're all just doing ninety s cadence I did under on you gripe and and what is your number over? I win that bet. Well how what is the number one hundred and fifty one row man we we even push can ask you a question. Yeah how much did Skyline Chili spend yesterday on that Super Bowl ad because that was Razi. I missed it. What exactly was the Ad Adam? Okay so it's Elon. Musk orbiting the earth. But he's really doing it now so it's not special effects it's not on a green street doesn't look like it at all. Does it. At one point he turned to the camera camera. And say like hey by the way I know you may think this is green screen but it actually is indoor Yup. Does he plays new. Edm Song that he just wrote he does look how. Oh and Jeremy Renner's in it and he sings his song from a couple of months ago. Renter in. Musk are together in a band. Wow this sounds like our band. We got a little competition. You think could quick more quickly. Have a number a top one hundred one hundred hundred billboard Renner and gather or you and and I know one would take seriously our. Our Song is going to be really good. I agree I goddamn. That's the difference I think between us and them is like we're we're legitimately going to be really good I think so. You're GONNA hit the top of the charts. Can I ask you a question Antonio only because Oh sorry I was asking you about the commercial. That's very expensive commercial for only one hundred fifteen that's not nothing to denigrate your your family's compliments Bushman's which is significant but a lot of money for you know not that many franchisees you say a lot of money. Yeah I think Jason did. I was just saying that's a lot of money to spend on his on on a super bowl ad so that must mean the look. Look at that must mean you have access to a tremendous amount of just below the cash like skyline line like my trust fund is so liquid. Really I dropped just what it for me. Is chump change on that Super Bowl commercial which I did commission. WHOA Yeah I? I texted mosque on tap and I sent a mean to Renner of himself dying. Whatever that one movie was so which movie Diane Boiler Alert He dies not one? He doesn't all of them which he dies at the end at the end of every movie. Jeremy Renner's character is that contractual demands it. uh-huh demands it. It's usually post credits. It's to engender sympathy. Then if it's a sequel the first thing you have to be about how he came back to live. No no Joe is wow for perpetual renner perpetual render. This is a franchise perpetuate surrender. So I see your wheels turning right. My mouth is watering. You're telling me that you've got access to a lot of money if your mouth is watering. It's probably about skyline. Eilon chilly wet pasta. Never Out Dante topped with wet chilly and then slightly wet store-bought shredded cheese three wet things on top of each array array. What things Ariza's commingling? Yeah Okay Got Wet Pasta Wet Pasta. Well this was the whole theme of the commercial. Yeah we stay on brand by I telling people in our commercials what is served at our restaurant did see this commercial because my wet. It's as Musk renner. Where like look? We're two of the wet things. Yup and then there was another celebrity. who was the other celebrity who was also wet and they were drenched soaking wet? And they're like Oh you love three wet things like us if you love three wet things like us who was the other he's got was it. I I mean I'm pretty sure I like. I commissioned the commercials I could tell you who bet on this as a joke over and under y'all let's make it interesting. Let's make it. Is it Joe PESCI. Because he was one of the wet bandits and home alone so close. I took your money no Scotto. So was it Robin Williams the last thing he filmed before he passed away unfortunately too soon so close. I took your money Jason. Jason was it. Let's see I wanNA get this rate. Was it miss piggy. Wow so close no you took your money. How are all so close? The guesses were miss. Piggy Revenue Joe Passion capacity. And we're all so close in comedy. Be Very obvious. Obvious like if we were playing four questions you would have it by it kind of wish. We were playing for questions. We should play for questions at the end of this. Okay it was Jim Gaffe again as Colonel Sanders. That's right. What a celebrity? And he was so bad double. It's a double commercial. AFC GETS WET. It's like those KFC Taco bells. Don't make sense get get wet with. Skyline Chili was the phrase. Stay wet wet pony boy. Isn't that other the spot. We're talking possibly Pasta wet pasta. Wet chilly chilly. It was the third wet wet. store-bought shredded cheese barrels barrels. or You'RE GONNA get your keys. What are you gonNa make it yourself now? I think that's great. No because they make it in the store so when you go get cheese it's always store-bought because you're Buying it from the store. Yeah that's my point. Well that sounds delicious. That's the specialty. It's still listening asking a question y'all because a lot of times in In term in like explain terms getting wet is to smoke. PCP OH I had no idea is no no no I'm just so realize allies you're so fluent in PCP tech's interests vis-a-vis having three wheels turning again about the we need a PCP Vigo's okay. I rarely used Burger King all the time she'd just say let's get wet or make it wet. Let's get make it wet or I am here to be so any of those we'll get you the PC and the you have a one in one hundred fifty one chance of finding the right one question if you were implying black earlier that Cincinnati's very horny and sexy. No I said it was naughty nasty and it gets filthy when you're talking about yeah trying to figure out because if if it's not a nasty if people say let's get wet maybe they didn't mean PCP. Yeah that's what my mind goes to. Let's get wet all also P- it were selling. PCP by the way fine time. This is the American dream. That's fine. We'll never we'll never got caught. Every day is a new low sun goes down we loaded into a naughty truck and we drive it to another location. I like that. So what if a COP happens is to be there and say let's get wet at the location where the PCP is you. You'd get caught. Then I have a different question. Okay and it's this so at night when the naughty truck is traveling between franchises. What's the net value of the PCP? That's on that truck. That's a great idea. I want a three way. But I want about seven or eight speckles of onions about one and a half to two inches apart on the bed of the meat. So that way, maybe it's at three and a half way. And so I have a guy in Kenwood that makes me special skyline chili because that's the way I like it. I remember when Clinton used to be on the road campaigning in Cincinnati. He'd go in and Astras three way. And they'd say, yeah. But how do you want your killing? I had a good friend of mine. Who's now on the bench whose name cannot be mentioned. There was a famous restaurant in Cincinnati called the Maysonet, which is one of the great restaurants in the world and Billy boy was here about twenty some years ago and sitting next to him oddly enough was a very attractive blonde and emotion over to come over to him. That woman later became a still is a sitting judge in Hamilton county Cincinnati Ohio, and he made every pass in the book against during colluding a free ride on his Air Force One. He arrived on his Air Force One. And she fortunately turned it down. While that case he wasn't talking about the actual plane. That's a nickname that he had not something else. And the the fact is Bill Clinton was set. So high on the one dog meter that he quite frankly would have hit on March shot at that point. Can I tell you a story about Marge Schott? Yes. Yes. I love a bit Marge Schott story. Well, there's an event here in town called mardi gras. And it's the it's fat Tuesday. It's the day before Ash Wednesday and for many years Marge Schott an eye for the king and the Queen. I mean, Dennis Miller to have to be the king and Queen Marge Schott does that pretty good. Good as it gets. You must've smoked forty cigarettes every walk. She smells like an ashtray. But I come back. So we're on this throne. Lenart Lenart rhyme by fine, Nubian slaves, and they were Bengal football players. Throne, and she has an outfit on like a Roman emperor. Outfit all with a crown, and I got no shirt on and she's seductively dressed and let around this hotel ballroom, and we get done, and she's drinking vodka gin like it was going out of business. My nickname was Willie. And she said Willie should we get a room? And I. And I said hell, no, I'm not gonna room, but I I was propositioned by March shot. The greatest story. What what would you have done Marge Schott proposition? You what would you have done? I would've gotten off car road runner cloud. Hey, I think it's like. Oh, I used to watch pirate games when I was always fascinated when they play in cincy 'cause they played across steel that had something called the moon. Dak yeah. I remember Bob trenches to always call a home run their he's that's out. It's up the moon. It's out on I seventy five in a pickup truck. That would have been me. You'd be on a way that. Well, that's true. I mean when I went to games are grossly field out right and center field behind the scoreboard was high seventy five and you couldn't hit a ball there. But Bob prince, you take Bob brands Marty Brennaman, you take the great the greatest ever, Harry Carey and Vince gully and those are the four, but Dennis Miller let let's talk a little bit about the current political scene. I've had on a couple of other so-called, national, comedians, etc. And they talk about how difficult it is today because there are certain areas of life that you cannot get into those areas of life. Otherwise, your career is ruined. How careful you as a national committee about what you say today that you weren't careful before. I wouldn't say to the prisoner of the national community. I would say to the the of sixty five year old guy who quite frankly. Done. What I what I wanted to do. So I have a little bit more camber young kid trying to get off the pad no way that she should come out and be anything conservative. Now. I wouldn't I think he'd get screwed out there. But for me, I I'm kinda liberated by it. And you know, it's the same thing happened my whole life. I'm sort of a pragmatist about politics. Like, I looked at Trump that I'm not gonna say these people say Trump is Hitler. You just want to say listen unless you're talking about Hitler. Let's not call anybody Hitler at Trump that I see thin skinned tap who does some great things this president. And I will say this. Here's the most endearing thing. I find about Donald Trump. Donald Trump's outer voice as crazy as it can be isn't entirely accurate depiction of his inner voice. Whereas in the last election. I only spoke that Hillary Clinton's inner voice, an outer voice had never even had a Cup of coffee together. And I was so sick of that approach to politics. But I find Trump pathetic in some ways. I'm not gonna sit there every day and say all this is the worst thing we're going under. No, I think he's doing some good things. I think he does them in a rough way does some other things that I don't agree with. But who who isn't that in life? That's everybody run up against. But I don't know. I I'm glad he's president instead of Hillary Clinton. I'll just put it that way. I was with him a couple of months ago, and I've said publicly and he said. He's wonderful. Absolutely wonderful, wonderful secret service guys, I talked to say this the best guy we've ever protected. He's kind you calls people. He takes care of his staff is wonderful. And I said to him Mr President. He said call me, Don was Mr President are you capable of having someone screen your your Twitter account because about ninety percent of the stuff that you do actually do is wonderful. The the Twitter account said let me tell you what he said on a good day CNN might have five to seven hundred thousand people watching him on a really good night. They might have one and a half to two million. So I got fifty million Twitter followers. He said what I am as my own news agency. What I do when I say something or do something. I don't have to go through the prism of the mainstream media. I communicate directly to fifty to sixty million people, and they want to hear what I have to say. I see. No. That's a good point. Is that a good point? Of course. It's a good point since Trump doesn't drink. I think sitting in bed and lighting up idiots on Twitter is his cognac before he dozes off one of the things. I like about him is that he drives idiots on TV news absolutely apoplectic every night. I turn in just to get a little glimpse of the hapless U-boats commander. Wolf Blitzer standing there about how the world's coming to flip it over to one Williams. He's always making that puzzled looked like. Morrison when the cops are dragging them off the stage in New Haven Kerry. From watched Chuck Todd. He's slow like that happened slated billboard balloon outside a car dealership during Toyota's and I always say Trump because you can say something about the banks. For me makes the right enemies. Know he lets it rip. And I'm thinking the economy, according to every objective standard in American history has never been this good every supreme court nominee every judicial nominee. I think it's been fabulous. And he was handed a feckless foolish foreign policy by Barack Hussein Obama, whether it was Iran, Iraq or Afghanistan or North Korea, Russia, Syria, whatever you want to say, they were it was a meltdown. But now things are kind of stabilize things are so much better. And he wants to build a southern wall. How many walls are there among the Hollywood elite when they built a home aren't there, walls everywhere? Well, obviously there are but I have an idea for the southern border because as I drive around. I noticed that it should've building a wall, we should build a big mall and actual mall where we have shopping going on. And they rent a cops there. Coming into the ball. Because the wall has just become a word. But they're gonna use against him. Of course, any place should have a border. Of course, everybody who decries the border has a border at their home or their office. It's just a silly to me if you're going to sleep with an fellow employees at a bad hotel in the middle of the afternoon, you have to scroll something on the desk broader, of course, we should have you check in southern border. And guess what? If we never did that eventually people would stop coming here because this country would be in trouble too. It's just common sense. They're making it out like he's an evil guy. But the fact is when you hear about one person like that girl on the pier and San Francisco. Write that off and say, well, that's just the math of it. And I watched that page Stanley thing, and it just broke my heart. There's enough evil weird bad things that happen in the country when you got a border setup much less the heartbreak of one probably shouldn't have happened. And they pooh-poohed that so quickly find that heartless. They always accused the right of being heartless done. I think my God that girls just out on a pier. Nice day with her she's gone, and it shouldn't have happened. We can't control much of what happens in life, but we certainly can control who's in here making making stuff happen. Dennis Miller were concerns me greatly as what Venezuela in twenty years from nineteen ninety nine and Sean Penn went down there with with with the great shabas leader talking about the all the glories of socialism by seizing industries. And then twenty years later, the human beings are eating grass in their if slaughtered their pets. And there's no medicine. There's no toilet paper. There's nothing. The Venezuela economy destroyed. Longest in South America is now gone. I see Mexico doing exactly the same thing, the new leader of Mexico promises. Socialism much like see much like Senator Kamala Harris, what concerns me greatly is that what we're seeing is a trickle from Central America in into enjoy our nation. If Mexico goes four bowl full bore on Venezuela in twenty years, there may be one hundred and forty million Mexicans coming into America. Because the same brand of socialism, the failed in Venezuela is going to be employed now in Mexico, seizing industries, etc. And when that happens, we better have a big wall. The size of the Vatican wall to keep people out because of that collapsed happens in Mexico, which is coming in the next ten to fifteen years. What will look like look like one hundred forty Mexicans move north. Ability. You know, you you're talking about people coming in on the road. And that's too far down the road. From me. I'm just trying to deal with today. I live in California. I take a hike every morning around five or six miles as I walk around my neighborhood. I run into infinite amount of Mexican people. We know each other now, it's all hi how you doing? I'm glad anybody's here. I agree. The country's built on immigration, but the country was built on immigration with a little mid step called Ellis Island. Can we just check people in and make sure that we're not we don't have to get genius with people's? Let's get all the genius. We could just get good hearted people in a more than willing to have anybody here. But this whole thing that you can just did it. I don't even have to think fifteen years down the road. I can just think today. It just seems nonsensical to me that we don't have any sort of a coaching border..
