"As far as the future goes. Look i mean. We're we're trying to get into like you mentioned New mediums were. We're working on animation. We're working on video on so we want to keep finding new ways to bring our message to wherever wherever people are where they're consuming so we're going to continue to try to do that in effective ways and and and so we'll continue to grow in that direction. Well as i say. I've been kind of in this. The comedy in the humor world for so long that. I never thought that i would see the emergence of something as good. I mean you guys aren't just not cheesy. It's brilliant i hanging out and i feel that There's nothing better. You could be doing seth dylan lending your skills as a businessman to this. This is very important and listen to sirius. But it's important to the to the future of freedom and to the future of america that we have a healthy free a culture where we can make fun of things where we can. You know lampoon things that need lampooning. Yeah and frankly without you guys I see almost nothing. It seems to me that to everybody who has a talent in this world will be coming to you and it'll be challenged view to figure out how to use them and how to grow it. Yeah but i do hope that we inspire other people to do their own thing and to do it effectively to in their own way and established during unique voice. I i hope that we do that so that you know i. I say this to people all the time. There's so much of a of a feeling among in our culture where people are trying to silence themselves censor themselves and they're doing the tyrants work for him there you go and i think that I think that everybody needs to be willing to be bullying. Look people used to die for their freedom in this you give up their lives for freedom and we're not willing to give up our twitter accounts We're not we're not willing to get band or potentially lose our job. I'm willing to get on. And i got ben. But that's the whole point is that we need to ride yes to lead. Help lead by sending thing that we're doing do not everybody does then. "Now we're gonna have to get serious for a moment. Okay this long enough and okay. Now we do have to get serious because you this is. This is really serious. But it's also hilarious. You guys at the babylon be doing intensely. Larry obvious comedy have been attacked by. Yeah yeah so. Yeah i mentioned. There's you know. The left is killing comedy by spike choking it. But they're also trying to censor it and what they're trying to censor specifically is comedy like ours. Where their target of it you know. They cannot to be laughed at. They can't bear to have their ideas mocked so instead of just laughing it off a or responding to it with their own jokes They've gone down this route where they've actually tried to smear us as being source of misinformation and the. There's a reason they're doing that so this is to me facebook twitter. You know all the all the social networks were really trying to crack down on misinformation and block it and keep it off their platforms. the left took advantage of that and thought to themselves. Okay well maybe that's how we get rid of the babylon be lump them in world news right and so they started writing all these news articles. The most recent one was the new york times saying that we're far right misinformation site that sometimes traffics and misinformation. I'm quoting them. That's what they said. We had to send them a demand letter and tell them to to remove that from their piece because it was defamatory. It was going to get us band on social networks thing you know. The Babylon Bee's Satire is Punching Back at Cancel Culture and Leftist Tyranny

"There's a threshing and assisting going on in american culture right now because idea that comedians who would not identify as christian or conservative none of the less. They find that. They have an innate sense of wanting to rebel wanting to to crack jokes about things that people say you. Can't you know it's it's kind of a fundamental aspect of comedy and of truth telling which comedies usually a form of truth telling so it's fascinating to me to see people Who might previously have identified as on the left or something pushing back against the cancel culture and the absurdity of this because they usually the ones who are who are doing that with with the right and the right was making the rules and their puritanical. Of course that has all shifted. So because that's strange shift. You're just seeing sifting the culture. I don't i think most people are really unaware of where it's going to go but we know that any self-respecting comedian cannot tolerate this. You can't function as a comedian. No yeah you can't. I mean if you're if you're going to censor yourself in deference to that power that's above you that's telling you what you can and can't say then then you you are the joke. Yeah making jokes. You are the joke comedians at in our situation. You know what we look at what we're doing. Robert accused lately have been accused of punching down punching back. We're not punching down. This is situation. we're culture con. Conservatives are literally on the ropes in the culture battle. yeah and they're defending themselves against this top down attack this top down tyranny from progressive ideology. That's coming from celebrities. It's coming from corporation from politicians. We're not punching down. We're punching back at that stuff.

I remember <Speech_Male> ten years ago. <Speech_Male> Twelve years ago in marketing <Speech_Male> there <Speech_Male> was no evolving <Speech_Male> publicly. <Speech_Male> Like this is how <Speech_Male> you like. This is the <Speech_Male> final thing we're <Speech_Male> doing the <Speech_Male> end and that's <Speech_Male> still the case for some <Speech_Male> big brands right. <Speech_Male> I mean if <Speech_Male> big brand has a <Speech_Male> you know <Speech_Male> makes a mistake <Speech_Male> on a campaign <Speech_Male> or something. I mean <Speech_Male> they get dragged through <Speech_Male> the mud everywhere <Speech_Male> too so <Speech_Male> very interesting <Speech_Male> now to wrap <Speech_Male> it up here <Speech_Male> for the last minute or so <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> I know <SpeakerChange> you talked about <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> being perfect <Silence> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> or evolving it. <Speech_Male> Seth talks <Speech_Telephony_Male> about it. I <Speech_Female> think he just tried to be better <Speech_Female> than you were last time. <Speech_Female> I tried to make sure that <Speech_Female> each of my books is better <Speech_Female> than the last one. <Speech_Female> I just <Speech_Female> recorded the audio book <Speech_Female> for my most recent book <Speech_Female> and did <Speech_Female> it several months after it <Speech_Female> was published. And of course. <Speech_Female> I a couple <Speech_Female> more titles <Speech_Female> that have eluded <Speech_Female> everybody. It's <Speech_Female> like is not <Speech_Female> perfect. I never <Speech_Female> had expectations <Speech_Female> that it was. <Speech_Female> I do as <Speech_Female> much as i can. <Speech_Female> Bring it as far as i can <Speech_Female> and then <Speech_Female> you know maybe a <Speech_Female> few years from now. I'm going to <Speech_Female> look back and say <Speech_Female> oh. I would <Speech_Female> have done that book differently. <Speech_Female> Now and rather than <Speech_Female> beating yourself up over <Speech_Female> that celebrate <Speech_Female> the fact that you're further <Speech_Female> up that learning curve <Speech_Female> you're further along. <Speech_Female> It's <Speech_Female> perfect is a myth. <Speech_Female> Perfect especially <Speech_Female> in constantly <Speech_Female> changing world. Perfect <Speech_Male> is <SpeakerChange> impossible. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Perfect is <Speech_Male> impossible. And i <Speech_Male> do like what seth <Speech_Male> said about. It's <Speech_Male> really just being used <Speech_Male> as an excuse by a <Speech_Male> lot of people. I <Speech_Male> can't do anything <Speech_Male> until this <Speech_Male> perfect or until <Speech_Male> this is done. That's <Speech_Male> another one of my favorite ones. <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> cannot write <Silence> this book <Speech_Male> until <Silence> <SpeakerChange> my wife <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> says. Hello <Speech_Male> when she comes in. <Speech_Telephony_Male> I don't know <Speech_Male> you know what i'm saying. It's <Speech_Male> like some stupid. <SpeakerChange> Excuse <Speech_Female> it. Seth Dillon's Babylon Bee Is Making Conservative Christian Comedy Against the Left's Rules

"Tell me seth what were you doing before you get involved with the babylon. How did you get involved in wire you there. Ceo today while. I'm very lucky When when when. I answered that question. You know. It's i had an a love for satire. I love like. I love you like to laugh. I like to laugh. I love how the left the left was so effective at because they don't have very good but they're very good ad hominem attacks. they're very good at making. You look silly stupid right. That's what they that's what they've been doing so effectively for so long with with their comedy. Nobody on the right. Was doing that effectively. When i saw the babylon come along. And adam ford is the one who founded back in two thousand sixteen He's a genius absolute genius and we quickly found some really talented people to add to the team to to come alongside him producing some this content and the whole point of it was to do comedy from a christian conservative perspective that cheesy. That didn't make us the joke because it really isn't it funny that we always have to start there. Yeah we're really brilliant. Brilliant but it's not cheesy like we're making films but it's not cheesy cheesy cheesy and it is an amazing thing. I said it before but you guys. It's not just not cheesy it is. It's brilliant and actually in the world in which we live today. It's almost the only stuff that's happening at that level. I mean there's nothing on the left. While i gotta tell you the reason. There's nothing good on the left right now and i followed the onion for years. They've been around for twenty plus years. They used to be very funny. They're less funny now and they're less funny now for very good reason. You know the left has made all these rules about what you can't say and they also have this idea that you can't offend anybody so so in enforcing these rules. they even do this on comedians. They try to make comedians follow rules. You can't say this. You can't say that you can't talk about this. You can offend people. Hand punched down never punched down right and so they make all these rules and comedians by their nature flout rules. They make fun of people who make rules. Let's comedians are supposed to do right. That's their that's really their role in all of this and so two handcuff comedians. In that way leftists are actually create by trying to kill comedy and strangle it. They're creating an opportunity for people on the other side of the aisle to to say the things that you're not supposed to say. Make the jokes. You're not supposed to make And so i think they've just created an opportunity for that

America Has Lost Its First Principals Without the Bible

"We've lost our concept of first principles you know. As as a hemingway describes bankruptcy says it happens gradually then suddenly and this. This happened gradually for at least a century. And then i think we're sort of in the suddenly episode right now so one way. How is it that we've lost a sense of The the good turn the beautiful well because for instance. There's one book that you will not be taught in schools right now. You can be taught robin diangelo. You can be taught from candy. You could probably be taught mine comp but the one book that you can you will go to court if you teach. It is the bible in it in the twentieth century. Some some justices on the supreme court they found in the invisible ink above the nation's beneath the pin number is that the constitution says no bible in schools. It right now in schools you can have a religious liturgy. You can pray to the various secular saints. You can have rituals for or pride or we have a whole month for pride but if you any way pray to god in schools that's going to be a big problem in a lot of places and so i think conservatives fell for this trap where we believe that secular liberalism is just a neutral playing field and the left is going to do. But it's not it's obviously a rigged game and if we are not allowed to state plain truths god exists. There's a difference between good and bad men or women. We're not allowed to stay those truths than not only. We're not playing on an even playing field but we've already lost the debate before it's

After mentioned jokes that can tell you did a really special moving important thing the week after the George Floyd protests was you shared your stories of interactions with the police at I think for a Lotta? People. Myself included it was really eye opening I. Think we all I think someone like myself thought Oh I'm sure you've had a bad interaction with the police right? I knew enough to know that I did not know the depths of it or how many there were and in you and your sister wrote a book yes and it's maybe not as. Maybe a slightly different town, but it is. It is similar in that it it serves education to. People who I think understand that. There are issues raised in this country, but maybe don't quite realize how much it affects you someone light use someone like your sister day out. Yeah everyone it's everyone it's everywhere. It's everything my sister and I wrote a book called. You'll never believe what happened to lacey crazy stories of racism. So my sister lives in Omaha Nebraska where we both grew up and she is usually a director at an old folks home. That's usually what her job is. So when something racist happens, she has to write it down and she has to report she yesterday. So she just was writing them down officially, but then also would just write down the funny ones and like the ridiculous ones all all have to be reported, but then it just became oh my God there are so many stories and I didn't even know she had been keeping journals of it. So then when I asked her to write this book, she was like I. Asked her to write it because she calls me everyday talking about you will never believe what Curtis said to me in the driveway and I called her in a aster and she said that's great because I've been keeping the Journal and the number of stories. It was so much more than I thought and I know her and I talked to her every day and it's even more than I could have imagined. It's a lot and they're all Larry it's like there are stories where we got to separate the like sad weird stories and just are only telling the stories with punch lines and it's still so many can you give us an example of something that happened Lacey that we wouldn't Aleve? Yes this is the first story in the edits. One of my favorites lacey used to him checks that had they were like lack history checks. You know sort had Martin Luther King and Blah Blah Blah. And so she wrote a check for something and it had a picture of period ten minute. So she paid the cashier to catch your tastes checking goes oh my gosh, you have check with your. I'm. Not, like a special picture variant Tubman, it's the picture you're thinking of right I'm lacey looks exactly like I look. For that lady still doesn't know who it's evidence versions. Haunting, ownership of Ruffin these last years they probably I mean my friends are. I don't know I hope. So I like to think so you know what I'm GonNa make them yeah I. This is lifted. We'll go over there, mix it up lasting ask us. A lot of people may not know this about you. Use Gymnastics in your background. I digital basics would I was young I was not good at it, but then it became a gymnastics coach which I was Kinda good at and I really thought it was going to be gymnastics. And in what happened the got you from Omaha to Chicago because that was direct right? There was no stops in between does not stack between I used to do theater and then. Either turned into Improv. Then we would go to the Improv Festival in Chicago and then I was like this is great moving here and then he did so fantastic what did your family think when you told them that they love it they love everything there's nothing I can say my family to get them to go hey, hey, well, no, no none of that you`re Right. I'm the youngest I've never had a kirk. Ones telling you do. You're gone you're in. CHICAGO. For a year before they noticed gone. Like you. How you feel about fronting senator you this next show. They are yes our Pulitzer Prize winning journalist from the Washington Post their new book very stable genius. Donald J trump's testing of America is available. Now please welcome to the show. Philip Rucker and Carol Alantic. What does this show you guys? Thanks for having congratulations on the book. I want to start by saying we share a compliment from the president. He is referred to me as a third rate comedian before And he referred to you guys. He wrote another book by two Third Rate Washington. Post reporter so congratulations. He did also go you to stone old lizards we look like stone cold mood users. That's the president who said that this is a this is a book that basically documents The last three years of the presidency It's sort of herring read through. We were talking backstage like how quickly you forget these things things we've talked about on this show. You would think based on that you remember that you had to make the decision to step away from day to day reporting to write this book. What was the catalyst for that for you? Phil and I have been covering being this presidency for three years. We've never seen anything like it Every day it was like bullets and shrapnel going by the chirons the news crises the scandals every hour every week we just wanted to hit the pause button and and look back at this make sense of it for ourselves and for and for our readers at the Washington Washington Post over two hundred sources that you had in this book. Yes yeah over. Two hundred senior administration officials friends of the president's advisors on the outside. Why did the president basically everybody? The President's orbit talked to us over the course of the last couple of years. What are some of the most alarming stories? You heard over the course of those two hundred interviews interviews. So many how long do we have. I mean there are so many things the president didn't know. Oh about America about the globe. Yup and I'm not making fun of him and Phil and I have no desire to to mock the president. We wanted to talk to people people who work by his shoulder and they were you know they're jaws were on the ground all the time because they are hearing him say he doesn't know what Pearl Harbor really is everything that happened. He doesn't do say it was a day. That would famously be hard to remember. And and that is something that worried the people around him because while he didn't know things that's okay you can be a president not no thing but you have to be able to take seeking information and he rejected information. He didn't want it was almost like an insult. According to our sources for people to come to say hey want to let you know how nuclear weapons work we know it. I got it right. You I imagine you know most of Most of the people that you talk to the book were anonymous due to the fear of repercussions percussions Did you does that. Mean you have to have some cloak and dagger when you're talking to sources. Do you have to take great pains to make sure that they're not putting themselves in danger revealing their identities so you know in history Richard Nixon when he was President Watergate anybody and he famously. A Washington in a post reporter was getting a signal to meet with this source deep throat and that signal was a flag in a in a flower pot on a balcony. Moving this flowerpot. We'll now we have a slightly more high tech version Phil. We're not using a flowerpot but people send us a sort of super encoded and encrypted bat signal all to say you know this is a good place to meet this a good time. Remember a lot of people that talk to us you know. It's in their DNA to run from reporters they are national security arena Intel people. Who Don't want anything to do with us but this presidency made them WanNa step out of their comfort zone in a big way One time I got a bat signal a board meeting a board meeting because they were worried they were being followed. Whatever applebee's we were going to no kidding? You know. This isn't cool. Oh anymore I know. You can't reveal a a lot of Information about anonymous sources but certainly safe to assume that a lot of the people you talk to Republicans and Based on based of the rooms they were in and what they were privy to Were you surprised by the fact that there were so many that wanted a to speak against a president that publicly They're sort of still lockstep as far as you know. We knew that there were people who worked in the administration who were alarmed and concerned with how trump conducted himself in office but we were surprised by the degree to which people were so alarmed and by how many of them there were members of his cabinet members members of his senior staff members of his close. Inner Circle told us that this is a real concern that he acts in a in a Very alarming way and acts ax undercut an impulse. Shuns Information and it's a concern for the country and they're afraid to say so publicly but they were willing to talk to us for the benefit of history and that's what we consider this book. It's really a history book of these last three years. There's long been this idea that there were people and you even lay it out in the beginning of this book that there were two people who had worked for trump right off at the beginning people who wanted to help him basically discard the way we've done things and and do this take this new path and people who are trying to protect the government from I'm Donald Trump Sort of the idea that there are adults in the room And yet a lot of these adults have left the room and They still sort of having spoken out against him. You know we have a lot of reporting.

"Beer in wisconsin it's time to start sounding the alarm bells story when wisconsin played here couple of years ago in the big ten championship game it might have been the scots in again i can't remember who was against i'm being literal here they drink downtown indie out of beer they came in so early they i've be a friend's home beer distributorships and like dan drank is out of beer bird calls they won all call the national guard yeah spotted collins a._c._c. virginia tech at n._c. state on saturday another one of those games dock where home court seems to be giving the wolfpack unlimited advantages year that's the only reason i'm picking him i think virginia tech scores said i think for jinya tech is a team that is going to be interesting down the stretch but they're seven mentioned a guy kevin keeps not a lot of people know kevin keats kevin keats when he coached at hargrave prep school was a place and everybody wanted to get players from and then he wasn't louisville with rick pitino and i don't know if anybody noticed but when everything came out on louisville guess he was never mentioned that one single time anybody knows kevin keats knows that yes he got out of their year before and all that kind of stuff but he would never be involved he kevin keats is one of the best people the best coaches coaching college basketball that's not to say buzz williams's and he's a good do but when you're at home and you're you're north carolina state and i think you're playing better i'm taking them but don't be surprised if jimmy technique run here k._t. harbor attack players that played for the point for us at like this team has this year dan i thought was interesting for season he had nine new players and he was bowling about having the players every year right no one is more ready to take this team and be ready and play well early in season you are because that's what you've always done he goes you didn't think about that way i said well you should and he's he's guys wanna play for you guys enjoy playing for you guys compete for him and he can really coach and they play freed up aggressive confident at heart it's a game he has to win game fan base oh my god at worst like that's the that's one of the few places in the a._c._c. where behind your bench or students they do wolf pack thing the middle finger comes up and they literally there behind your bench cursing at you for game it's the greatest thing and your players every ounce they literally sit right by pick i said you're not you're not listening sleep cough coughing cough up sex packs day's coming back so so if kevin kiesel probably get some consideration phrase coach of the year but i think right now you gotta give it to chris mac and the job he's doing a little north carolina and louisville two o'clock on e._s._p._n. saturday seth this chris matt keep this train going for the cardinals carolos playing now i think this is a revenge game for carolina carolina's playing unselfishly to ball's moving better i think fending better they're getting the place small-bore which is fine and i think they roll into yum and they go barbecue on the barbecue wings on on the courts i think carolina wins game carolina wins game only because i think these are the games roy william wins and i'm not sure exactly why i just know that history says that he does but a word about the job done at louisville you know what i had him earlier and they beat michigan state and you could see it the connection between chris mac and his team is one thing but even early there was a connection between chris mac and louisville the city the town the fans that were there obviously you can tell it after win certainly win over then full strength i guess without mcquaid michigan state team but chris mccann coach chris mack has a team that whether you know there guys jordan war can score and all that kind of.

"The disappointing to me and where i think we dropped the ball as a coaching staff and it's because of the practices where rebounding we're still leading the league but our defensive rebounds teams are getting thirteen fifteen seventeen offensive rebounds against us and that does two things it gives them another chance to score they're hitting some kickout threes with the offensive rebound and to it it gives us one less chance to run which we are i swear i think we have everybody it's one of the best running teams ever had and then includes that team way back when we just get it up and caches even though he's not lightning-quick he has the ability to push forward our wings around and you know had a pretty good pretty good system think get your team is really close how did the kids fan when they found out that josh was the afra seize your i i've been around your guys and they are really kind of a band of brothers i mean they look after would josh came here live with tom-tom and and then those two brought in miles and then those to broaden jerry jacks or those three and and it was like that really was an unbelievable three years of of maybe setting the table and you know yesterday i found out about eleven o'clock in the morning and we had a team meeting scheduled for eleven thirty and so i talked to josh i than i talked to the team and then josh came in and talk to the team as couple of systems said that was maybe the greatest speech you know he's a very religious kid he's very faithful kid and he he just talked about you know not worrying about him i mean it was tearful for all the players because he was unanimous captain choice which means everybody voted for him and and that happens sometimes it doesn't happen all the time and you know he's a good student a good kid the guy lives in this gym i think he's got a caught down there so it was hard because everybody knew some people like basketball some people basketball and there's a few people that live basketball he was a guy that lifted and and the players knew that even the ones that are good players that don't live it just love it and and i think that's what made it harder on them but he handled it guys like a champ and you'll see them this week's hopefully you'll get you talked to him i mean his his demeanor and disposition on this whole thing is i held a lot better than mine i'll tell you this i put my foot my mouth indiana scores on an inbound and bilas and seth and showman don't rip his.

"Games i think it was sixteen when i started and we went to eighteen and my god it just seemed like to extra conference games was like four decent regular season games you know it because everybody knows each other so much intensity the fact that you're gonna play in a pack place usually i think the two extra games is enormous now we put two more on top of that and tried to sam what you men and i do think it makes for better games but i think we're all trying to learn how to handle that in and and that's been a little difficult with practices and everything at least for me it's been you know i gotta change i've been in the league so long that i've i think i've been here since it was fourteen or sixteen games and it was eighteen now it's twenty and i bet you when you voted on that a bit yell the coaches voted twelve zero not to do it right dr league but i think for the most part you know people and i give jim credit i mean it's better for t._v. it's better for what we're doing and i do think it's good to have the rivalries i mean it's crazy that michigan michigan state only played once produced indiana only played once and but it is different as an dan what do you think on that i mean you played in it then conference games are a lot more taxing i mean you go play duke and carolina and in crazy it sounds it's not as taxing to conference game some think this i've said this forever we we see and we say well pros play any two games and they to class every day they don't get up and and okay the game so i can't tell you how many times having is different now than when i play the demands i i can't tell you how many times i went to michigan game and either mole or dunkin or derrick walton or whomever i would drive them back to the dorm after a game and they had to study and it was like man i am examinating people that's tall know we go to purdue and we play at one o'clock in the afternoon i said god we'd just come from iowa got in at two thirty in the morning and and i said we go to do and i said oh good i'll get home in time to have several my family and actually live we get to the airport and i think they master nuts at purdue sabotage there we couldn't start the plane so we we sat there for an hour and then we bust back five hours ten thirty at night anyway on a bus the whole time you know with a couple of guys can everybody i mean there are so many things you've had the air when you played and then you got the kind of see the area where your son played and now you're seeing a little bit of the air when he coached and i yeah he has a different coach and as a player to coats coates agree with this coach nine os used to sing a player should come in division one college basketball coach for years a red shirt and then play in that have a totally different perspective right link for guys josh lane for you know if first couple of games he was out of his you know he was doing his normal stuff but then when he realised going to be for a little longer he started trying to take on he's he's an unbelievable kidneys coach got to have a purpose and i said okay you got all the out of bounds place underneath the basket you gotta make sure guys at garner guys ready both authencity defensively so if you watch him he actually does it on the bench and he says to me the about two weeks ago he goes why are these guys doing this here's a west so brother welcome it is different you know they really he really looks at it differently and he's living with those two freshmen that are kind of taking his spot and aaron henry and gay brown and i told those guys sitting i told you when you got to hang with josh and now they're trying to hang with just four months later you know six months later and realize that it's not as easy as you think so i.

"Calm press compared to danny when you played in the league you know when it was like wednesday saturday or thursday saturday and and so you're always trying to figure out when can i get some time to work on us and then when you do get it you see god i save my guys so this has been hard for me because i never gave a damn if i was the tell you the truth i mean we would play the war game we would get physical we would do this and i gotta admit i've had a change in and i it kills me every day when i do it but i've i've kept cashes out of a practice i've kept mcquaid outta half a practice and that's on american around here you know never even the stars of the stars and but it's just an adjustment it's just because of the schedule just because of the injuries and it's just because of the times we're not as tough as maybe when you guys played i don't think anybody is anymore i wasn't tough i know that i was never kept on a practice in fact when offered was kept out it was like dockage practice twice for coachman but having having said that when you look at your team and you have played without caches when you have play without mcquaid you are playing without arns where is your team where do you what do you think of you i'm i say that to my staff i mean i didn't think we played very well against purdue but as you know purdue is a good team and they've been a better team starting williams they gotta presence in there now and i think edwards has done a great job of picking gone from taking twenty five shots game more like fifteen sixteen he's become a better pass it they're just they're a better team too but we did that we got down and even you know when you should have been tired we we made a hell of a run and it wasn't just a lucky ron we kind of grounded out and i think we're really good team i i really do i think we've got an inside presence i think we've got some big to defend we've got a great rotation inside 'cause we got to be sin in in xavier and and of course word but then we got a guy and kenny going sue can he can guard a point guard or he could guard a center you know and that's a nice guy to have in this day and age we got a lot of those stretch fours or were athletes fours and you know problem is a little bit is is the inexperience at the perimeter and you know we got to really good ones if arns comes back some that helps us if not aaron henry has played pretty good just doesn't shoot it as well so then they can do different things cash is different things with with nick inside because for a while there were shooting forty some percent from the three and josh was a big part of that it was a big part of that so that's where it changes a little bit but my money and find different ways to score sometimes how you talk about the twenty eight weeks schedule joey halfway for your league schedule right now you and lee games left is that a different approach like i remember when i was they were voting on that i think to go to that next year but like howard sauce thing is having that having champions have been sent the vents but then played in the league at different as a player but when you're at fourteen games or sixteen.

"What i led the way playing kevin kids did a great job keeping his team engaged in the predinner game so van that that up front you know n._c. state and just you know they don't really put a lot of pressure on your with any front replace i'll tell but florida state tell me if i'm wrong you he plays a thousand guys yes like ten like minimum would work for him to get to nine guys eight guys and see the a really develop cancer authors i would i tell you what i've felt like like you know sometimes you hear coaches all the time talking about we're wearing players out now if it's a if it's a strategy to keep you fresh and go through determent that's cool but man i just it's hard to keep track of why you take a guy out or what you know those assistants gotta be making their money because they're seeing things to get a guy out or get a guy in but you know what the guys leonard hamilton is the world's youngest human being he seven years old he's twenty five done drink smoke all he does is hang out with his family he's like willie nelson but in reverse yeah willie nelson this willie nelson looked like he was seventy five when he was thirty five leonard hamilton is the opposite of that there's no doubt and it's fun to watch his team it's fun to watch him because he don't say nothing he just coaches ball and i tell you this man if you better you better have some guys that don't turn it over if you're gonna if you're going to beat them i give you said i swear to god to teams in college basketball i've heard this so much and i've said this and i'm going to add michigan to admission virginia when they beat you every guy that i've talked to hasn't been asked it's like well we we really should have beat them like when you play virginia everybody we're cower just as good as you play michigan just you know we're just as good of them sometimes you get blown out and you're not but virginia to interesting when i swear i can see them getting beat early i swear i could see them not losing a u._n._b._c. or whatever it was but man i watched him and i'm like how do you guys not beat these guys how do you not tell you doing now why turn turn it it over over and they don't fall foul you know i mean they take keep you off the glass i think with watching the watcher the interstate other day that was the first time i watched a michigan when they when they put it on virginia tech i'm more like this into ness champion they're flying up and down this knock-about shots of cutting are maybe they were locked in they looked like you would be seeing it since he state they were they were harkat get free and i can see that except the whole thing the system can't you can what's just to iran if you know you can oppose your will honor thing given away the people say you can't win championship playing that way i disagree except maybe this year the beat the dukes some other people you can probably hit the scoring and they can make shots i think that's sort of the formula right now duke is in making show dukes r._j. barrett and wanted they have fifteen and seventeen threes old-fashioned freeport place fifteen seventy like those guys are shooting it's a joke with sheva three point i never like they were two for twenty one from three point line the other day is acted in yeah and they were nine for forty three against circus right they're going to have to make shots virginia's making shots and they're scoring points to good formula eighty four and six times yeah i know i know i'm just like i can see that says it's not your father's virginia the different this year that's what everybody says i've seen them okay take quick break on the podcast when we come back and talk to tom izzo team suffered an injury setback this week also coming off the loss at purdue but they've got time to prepare for indian on saturday and we're gonna make some picks to so don't go anywhere.

"A lot of times you get a guy like that and do play in work against that team like what he's going off doing his thing those kids are into it i mean like it's there hugging high five chess spot and do everything else but they were guys scoreless joey house is going to be a really good player same house really score if he's got enough guys coming off the bench that gives them a little bit of a churning they got they've got a maturity to them that they didn't have your ago that's the way i look at it so that watch last night and it was stark it struck me he was making moves at the top of the key finishing with i mean and their bench and there are other guys and then it's also struck beginning i'm gonna use the word offensive pig i mean he shared it's not it's not like when guys get it they feel they have to do something because they're not going to get it back playing with him it's weird because dude at scored fifty forty and a half i it's a weird thing to watch because it's a cool thing to watch because this is not man i'm resentful this is not man i don't get any touches you said at the houses are really good and they're involved just as much as howard is our just happens a lot of time to get the bongo score it's weird it's great i remember what game it was but it was a few weeks back they went into overtime and how it scored the first eight points i think in the overtime session and that was sort of one of those games where the rest of his team said okay it's your time yeah got it overtime now it's your time to do your thing and i think to your point they just sort of marveled at the way this kid was taken over a game when everybody knew he was going to when he did anyways yeah dig it yeah it's great it's cool it's very very cool very cool so what about the a._c._c. then we talk about the big east and i think we've probably come into an agreement that those two teams look like maybe the only teams out of the east that are going to be second weekend teams in the n._c._a._a. tournament maybe get another one like a saint john's if they come to play that can get it done but what about the a._c._c. because you're looking at a lot of teams in the a._c._c. that have a chance to make that next step but how do you tear that out seth virginia's here and i keep virginia that in that thing that my second tier carolina virginia tech who can really score and louisville then my third tier is qs state f._s._u. event you know after that you know i through georgia tech era tier four because i wanted to make sure yet you everybody's in that tier four then because the top three tiers in the n._c._a._a. tournament teams because because if if you've you've got got georgia tech and boston college pit and those others that are just fighting for scraps right now in that league the list nortre dame miami and wake just those are bad a._c._t.'s one of the interesting things for me was going to florida state and doing a game and they're fifteen and five they sometimes make shot sometimes they don't but i swear to god it was an odd thing is like man if they this is weird usually if you can guard on the ball you're going to be really good defensively when they get into passing lanes they stymie it almost doesn't matter how well they shoot because they're going to stir stirred up and get enough transition but i will say this i know they're not duke i know they're not u._b._a. i mean you can almost no they're not louisville or north carolina virginia tech but i man i i would be very very nervous playing florida state if i were a coach that needed to make a run in the n._c. double a. tournament and they showed up you know right there because that's a team that can play what about n._c. state to wouldn't you throw them in sort of category yeah i think.

"I don't think consistently over the course of the season but i think in tournament don't be surprised about auburn to man when those two guards are making shots harper and brown you got a team that can play in but i would say those three teams in the s._e._c. absolutely taken over and i would say those teams in the s._e._c. in the upper tier all college basketball right now i would think that stays creatures have gave me oh my guy because i did say the knicks were going to be the most improved not the new york knicks but nick richards nick ward nick lord's been good nick richards maybe it'll be the most improving n._c._w._a. tournament there you go i think he's thinking about kentucky equipment p._j. washington is finally playing couch for what and i think parsa he's plagiarism stakes a little bit but p._j. washington three games rose twenty you notice i pause there because i knew how to get his kentucky thing i had to talk about kentucky and coach cal so i let you have your do even though you're not feeling very well seth play her for the last two days so i wanna move on with talking about tears in these different conferences 'cause i think this is the time of year we move the calendar on february and teams start to separate themselves and other league i teams are separating themselves and said you might agrees the big east i mean i think right now i look at team like marquette and they win tough games i mean they win games win they're losing they win games when it seems like they're they're on the road and it's not going to happen and yet they find a way to win like they did last weekend and even last night they blew out butler and handle it just seems like they find ways to win games i know the marquette top tier here's way over marquette to your saint john's whole tier two or three province crepe georgetown the bottom i got saved appall about which it's weird say the bunkers in the bottom tier but some some right with that team right now they're just not playing well they played pretty well early sees the problem the big east has is in league play into teams winning writers because john's got off to such a hot start and then they really cool down i you talking about villanova's playing great basketball now and then marquette but doesn't seem to be a big drop off after those two teams what last night when i watched saint john saint john's last night they went out to omaha and i thought i gonna have twenty thousand you know man they beat the hell out of him and i'm watching him and i'm thinking two things i'm thinking number one he's a some dudes they can get to the rim and number two they're garden but they're only four and five in the league in and you know you're right and i watched butler eventually all things must end and it looked last night or last few nights at the butler way sliding way because they don't look talented enough they don't look like they're anything different anymore they just look like another basketball team struggling to play basketball in a tough conference that's that's really you know all all that kind of looks but to me when you got one team at eight no and you got another team at eight and one and i watch marquette beat by the last night that's that's a different marquette team that i watched come into assembly honky blasted they they look different to me yes it i think the garden better i think that the development of sam houser job houser gives them a little another option you know your sam have really school do good but i think they're i think they're they have work physicality offense and i think that they're me they bang on your little basic guard your little bit they rebound little bit better and i think impresses me about the state dummy way off what we know how great player right and we know at any moment he just get going dropped fifty and yet his teammates enjoy watch why they are all in on him doing what he's doing and that's rare because you know.

"The year at my face with that can't be fixed right away because michigan state's coming in hungary and the anc this up like that when you guys don't like each other don't play for on its own you can have all team meeting juwan those those teams don't resolve anything and it goes back to the bentsen's floss you got a guy to one done and his teams almost playing against crystal to hear about it and if you have one one done your team done because you don't have everyone on the same page as the one guy who's the one done as a different set of rules a lot of ways that everyone else it happened marco foltz after with simmons and seen with overall i mean that's just the way it is and i would never thought i'd seen archie miller team this uninspired this or unorganized non-competitive i just the funniest thing is that you know people killed cream like let's face cream still be coaching there joe nobis hartman where healthy the year fire because they would have been an elite eighteenth you grew hundred percent a set jan nobody went from hurt to less than a year later garden well year later garden lebron james in the eastern conference finals as a starter for toronto absolutely absolutely so i know you guys want to get it a few things today game day is going to be there east lansing this weekend indian is in town not exactly the kind of road trip that indian archie miller need to turn things around but it may be exactly the game that coaches needs after finding out the josh langford has gone for the year kind of get things back on track and as i said they got a week to prepare for that but some of the things we have seen this week michigan state nod in action but we've seen l._s._u. and action some of these other teams in other conferences and seth i know you wanted to talk about l._s._u. because in the s._e._c. and for good reason we talk about tennessee and we talk about kentucky 'cause kentucky's plan better basketball late too but once that we really haven't talked much about at all as l._s._u. and they're on beaten and league play to l._s._u. is money doubt about their money they are really really good you got experience backer remote waters eight point guard accurate i mean he's exposed to be quick he can pass the ball defense he's an act of the federal ball e creates turnovers makes bigshot schuyler bays is a church shop acres with with a little bit grizzle of this they've got all kinds of athletes around those two guys nozzle read the freshman mcdowell's all americans big step out shoot three's emmett williams rebounds they're they're undefeated league play they turn it over some but they're a team that in just pure count this is gonna be sacrilege they might have the most here account of any team in the s._e._c. the think at some point you know the whole trae young factor you know what i mean you know you become seth curry i thought when i thought about l._s._u. i wonder if water is going to become a pig you talking about carson was where he just shoots it the pig is not a derogatory name it's a name for college basketball people that shoot too much hand the ball too much and are pigs so there you go did you think he was going to become was it was you know was there a threat there for that but he hasn't really has realized if you want to win they're going to have to replace and those good players make game issue for him i mean this teams they got the kid bixby williams he's tracy morgan he's got spirits now's reads a kid that he's has no clue at play one six eleven to want to shoot threes but he's talented maze and waters can really really play and they got these young kids office smart really guard this with ability does rebound now up they're not fishing offensively but they rebound mrs and they're letting and they're you know they've got they've got out and you know you're right we we don't even mention because they have great preseason but they are a very good athletic counted team that you know is basically just steamrolled when lead it's going to get more cult but they're playing at at a really really doc if you had a tear them as far as we're looking at some of these tears for some.

"Loss at michigan state felt at purdue is just move onto the next game figure ourselves out loss nothing more nothing more it's tough play that that barbs ms moore as watching gaming those people were absolutely insane it's the only place i know where when you walk out of the gym is only one tunnel there's a big sign with a club of the clock time to play hard it's the only place i know where the students have a a scoreboard for quote hard plays meaning they flip it over how many charges how many steals how mega give you dunks off they flip it over you know it says play hard lives here something and it's the only place ever been to that most people get all excited when somebody hits the three of you know the different i romeo langford shoots when you know shoots and air by goes all so great no not at purdue take charge getting respect there it's awesome and that team plays up to that boys do they always play better you think boy they're just gonna be carson edwards this year and they got a couple other nice pieces but they seem to play better and better because of that home crowd really feed off of it under present coach really people on his brown hair seth i'm gonna tell you right now seth if they lose if they don't get to the sweet sixteen now you're not maybe going to see it but around here your person comedy other day lady that played basketball at purdue said yet dan you're talking purdue radio show i am okay well painter always slows it down in the tournament and he always gets us beat in the tournament i'm thinking okay name the time where your coach always did this of course they couldn't but i'm telling you it's the weirdest thing purdue be careful what you wish for man because that dude is good as there isn't a country yeah they their actions are ridiculous pin down handouts to card role i mean don't roll heart screen heart art flying on stagger screens i mean what he still would carson edwards issue that's machine stay here he was a big course never snow he what how do is inclusive now and then all started a couple of weeks at michigan state painter took him out and you know when you do a game you see it sit right across you just thought man you know at the end of the day you gotta make a choice with great player he's killing you you're gonna lose anyway you might as well coach your way right and they did it and then the williams kid played well at the end of the michigan state game is the only thing they took out of that game and next thing you know he's in the starting lineup harms is coming off the bench much more comfortable i talked to matt the other day about it and now you've got a team that hey they're only one game out of the michigan schools and they're rolling so the bottom line is this with the big ten michigan state loses at purdue no shame in that so they're still near the top michigan obviously is home along these teams at the top of the big ten or kind of getting a ding here and dig near but it seems like they just reload the next week and michigan state now the bad news mid week without length for get a whole week to prepare for indiana who is just terrible doc it's what is going on i mean now they're not just losing games but you have to say they're losing games to rutgers and they can't score points this team can't even get the sixty points now twenty two what's that now i vented it's available on youtube bailable everywhere look is is a team that the one thing they have is ability i mean the fifth year's or fourth year seniors gonna average i don't know fifteen his career top five pick they got guard that everybody says an indiana they stole from produce really good they got some wings that are experienced the bottom line they don't like each other whatever the reason is and seth was so good last week i think talking either on my show or here may when you get a one and done better surround him with other one and done ze and indiana looks completely well this organized disinterested on f fleck in every spot including a kid is supposed to be a top five pick and can't shoot and unlike each other it's a it's a bad mix it's really georgia tech and over.

"Been awhile since the three of us chris qatar seth greenberg and dan docket for all on at the same time we are back and we've got some interesting stuff going on first and foremost the news of the day in really the news of the week and college basketball was at michigan state but team that had been just hitting on all cylinders until the till they really got rocks last week at mack against purdue now they get another rocking when they lose josh langford one of their wingmen for the entire year he's been outbreak games it was fear that maybe would be a long term thing what is going to be a long term thing tom izzo made the announcement yesterday dan i'll start with you obviously changes michigan state moving forward but this team that's one and won impressively with a lot of guys out all year so i don't know how much it really changes them does it i don't know i think it changes them nationally i think it changes their opportunity to win a national championship always says really hard to get to the final four is those made it look early chris but when talking about sixteen and night mature kid on the have played well without him but arns hurt as well he's got a back issue that he's been dealing with mcquaid has been up they've ridership and i look and we're gonna talk to time later on today but i think this i think when your time is oh you three things are involved you want to win the big ten you want to win well actually four the big ten tournament as well and you want to get to the final four yuan win national championship and losing a guy like that slows the ladder down now they can win the cup they can win the former but i don't know that they can get involved in the ladder ultimately seth greenberg remigia i could play a twenty game league schedule i think this team has attention ward out without lankford warns being out some are look there too they're good because cash once as good as any or guarding the country nick wards playing at a high level you know i'm a big aaron hendrick guy but you can't lose you can't lose guys that score fifteenpoints game in juniors guard and be the same team you work that just the way it is they've developed that the mets great and he'll get him to play hard and compete mill we games but you know when you're competing for national championship is such a small march of era i think it's gonna be really hard for them i think they'll get through i think they'll get for the big ten but after that i think it'll be interesting to see what we're going to tom is a little bit later on in the podcasts does this loss now change and we're gonna about conference tears a little bit later on obviously michigan state is still on the top tier teams in the big ten but from a national standpoint does that knock them down a peg if you had to tell me look these teams that i think our final four teams today does that take michigan state out of that grouping i think it'd be fourteen just less than games most once at purdue which i think by the way more i watch jeopardy then you can speaker that is incredible i mean macura that place is crazy like watch neck amy other day that place was at a frenzy for two hours like this everybody revived than than than or much better varmint in the big ten immaculate does much better in the country and i've always said this i don't get you go to produce you plan a national schedule you guys get better i mean glen robinson blade before going robinson actually guys get better you play in a crazy environment and yet mad has a hard time recruiting it's it's amazing it is to me there are certain afternoons in the big ten where you're just not going to win some it used to be i that's not the case anymore but i i always said some nights at assembly hall you are not coming in there and winning some nights in breslau you are not coming in there and winning and some nights and mackey you are not coming in there and winning and i think the loss to michigan or the.

"Be sleeping no way. College basketball live afterward. You must watch out for listen to San Francisco probably making a close game. Because that's a pretty good team. They are in terms of what's left on right? Exactly. Point guard San Francisco's teams. But what I'm saying about this whole thing is you really can't come up with a number two number one is which is part of the reason why he will certainly be number one. Because there isn't somebody else pushing him for that number one spot. I don't think there will be hey, how much of what you know? He's even came out and said, I want to show the world more than just the dunker what I know that. But how much of the fact that he such donkey machine comes from the fact that all the way up until now in his career. That's always had to do. Now, all of a sudden for the first time in his life. He's gonna have to show a little bit more of that game who better to coach him to show more that game than coach K at least for this year going into the next level. You know, like Chris before the year and Seth set me straight because he had seen him. But I had not seen him. And every time I watched him on Twitter video or YouTube. He was dunking against players that looked like my daughter like me out there. No chance you were way too. Big. And too Bill. I'm talking about my daughter. That would alone and everybody wants to like guys in high school. We're getting dunked on and being happy about right? Yeah. I mean, he wasn't playing in New York City where guys gonna so but set set me straight on that. And I saw for myself. I think it's nice that he says it, but I don't think he has to say it because I think people that know basketball. No as Seth was just gonna say that dude's a lot more than that..
