Congress Poised to Change Tax Laws
"Charlie, you and I were emailing and the house and the senator about to change the tax laws of the United States. I've been telling people all week long as soon as that happens, they should take a number of years of their past returns, call you up and find out whether or not the right kind of client high income client. And that you've got to look at that. Am I right? They're about to change the tax laws. They're about to change a tax loss of the tax laws have wavered back and forth between various proposals, there was the wealth tax. There was the family plan and now there's build back in America. And we've been fortunate that we've had two reasonable democratic senators that have essentially allowed us to Dodge a major tax bill and I believe they've not been able to enact much of the legislation that would have affected many of our listeners, but nonetheless the Biden administration wants to substantially increase marginal rates to build back America plan has many changes in it and the reality is. I formed my CPA firm two decades ago to help clients recover dollars at the unnecessarily payment form of state and federal income taxes in most CPAs are simply historians and we do a very good job of helping clients mitigate that cost. And doing simply what other CPA don't.

Democrats Go on the Offense With Biden's Agenda
"Christian cinema is the subject of Selena zito's latest column in the New York Post and it's a terrific one. Selena joined me from Pittsburgh also in morning after a football lost this weekend, like the browns. Good morning, Selena, happy November 30th, to 29th to. Good morning, happy November 29th year as well. You know, I am very beleaguered by the browns lost late last night to the ravens the Steelers got blown out. We are both not likely to go to the playoffs, though it's possible for the browns. I don't think it's possible for the Steelers anymore. So you might be depressed, but I like your cinema piece because I read a lot of the build back better Texas this weekend. I'm up to page 800. It's a nightmare for Democrats. Yeah. I mean, I haven't been that diligent in reading it because I've fall asleep. But I completely agree with you. There's so much in there. And, you know, it's really interesting, I think, to me, here in western Pennsylvania, the amount of ads being run by Democrat affiliate organizations that would side with the Democrats pushing them not only to vote for this, but also to make more amendments to add more things. And I'm just sort of stunned. Watching these ads call senators Casey. Make sure he adds this to build that
What Happens in Your House Is More Important Than What Happens in the White House
"My motto has always been what happens in your house is more important than what happens in The White House Let me explain We get obsessed by what's going on Every four years in the presidential election we don't even pay attention to some of the other elections that go on in this country The people people know every minute detail of a presidential election because that's all the media focuses on and we get obsessed with it We watch it like it's ESPN and sports although frankly these days ESPN is more political than cable news We watch it and we get obsessed with every nuance in every little minor detail when a presidential election but most voters can't tell me who their state senator is Oh hell a lot of voters can't tell me who they're governor is And what about your school board members Let me ask you something Over the past year if you have children in the government run schools in this country Who do you think really affected their lives more Donald Trump or Joe Biden as president Or your local school board members I think you know the answer to that question
Sen. Doug Mastriano Talks About the Importance of Local Politics
"And so that's why it's important that we have more diligence and that we have more people active politically and running for office what have you and every position support. We saw this past year in Pennsylvania and across a nation that school boards are important. The county commissioner's important, even state senators are important. And so we can't stand aside now. Yeah, yeah. I know. And I've said this on the program before, it's one of the things I knew growing up that phrase that said, all politics are local. And it does start right with your local school board. That's the basis and you go up from there. Yeah, you really can't make this stuff up. I mean, obviously loudon counties put an exclamation point on a whole point of view there and how important even school boards are. But, you know, around my state here, thankfully, a lot of people instead of just standing aside and here's one thing out, but that really strikes me. American Christians, we have to be careful about, I guess passivity is maybe not the right word. But just I guess lack of care, you know, hey, things are going terrible in our country and then Christians will often say they'll throw their hands up and say, oh, it's God's will. That is ridiculous nonsense. No, it's not his will. For some reason God chooses to work through the agency of men and women like you and me to stand in the gap like Esther's like giddy and like Martin Luther picky here, George washingtons. And if you just throw up your hands, all right, God will raise up and deliver deliver from elsewhere Esther chapter four, but it will take time. There'll be
Biden's political standing fuels Democratic worry about 2024
"The Senate Majority Leader wants to get president Biden social agenda spending bill done by Christmas and sees the go she Asians within the party ahead senator Chuck Schumer says he knows his own Democratic Party is diverse runs from Bernie Sanders to Joe mansion but I tell our party as leader of the party back in unity is our strength if any one person insists that unless they get a certain provision that someone else can't be with the bill fails he says so far on all major bills Democrats have stayed unified even without Republican votes I think that we're in we're in very good shape to get fifty votes Schumer also wants to make sure provision to cap insulin at thirty five dollars a month remains in the bill his comments come days after the house passed the one point nine trillion dollar plan I'm Julie Walker
Congressman Jim Jordon Explains the GOP's 3-Step Plan to Rein in Big Tech
"Congressman Jordan, I was invited after the election to meet with one of the top members of not the political conservative class, but the RNC itself. And I said, fine, I'll meet with you. We had lunch very close to my studio here and I he asked me my advice as to what should happen now. Now that allegedly Biden won. And I said, if you guys want to be taken seriously by America, by at least 74 million Americans, if the Republicans want to be seen as serious, there's only two issues you must prioritize right now. One of them is election integrity. We've got to get serious on making it impossible or hard to steal elections even in cities like Philadelphia and Chicago. The second thing I said is big tech. You've got to be as serious as a heart attack on stopping the censorship of any American. Will you talk to us about what you're seeing from your colleagues? Does the GLP get it? Do we have a plan when it comes to big tech congressman? Yeah. Yeah. The first thing is, take away their liability protection. At a minimum, we've got to get rid of the section two 30. Take away this immunity, this liability protection that they've enjoyed. They're making editorial decisions. They're sensitive and conservative. I always always tell the story that this was a couple of summers back. I guess we'll come back in 2018. But Matt Gates gives me a call, and he says, Jim, Twitter is shadow banning us. And I'm like, I didn't know which out of any man. I said, well, that sounds terrible. Now, what is he explained to me? Turned out it was. They were in fact a shadow banning Gates represented Meadows representative Nunes and myself. So you got 435 members of Congress, got a hundred senators 535, only four. Only four were being shadow banned by Twitter. And it happened to be right in the middle of the whole Trump Russia investigation when we were pushing back on all the BS coming from the Justice Department. So this becomes a news and Twitter sends out a statement that says well, it was just a glitch in our algorithm. And I'm like, glitching your algorithm, what did you put in the algorithm the names Gates Meadows known as Jordan? Give me a break. So you're exactly right. So that's step one. Step two is we actually need to get that. There are some antitrust cases happening. We need to get those to the Supreme Court on an expedited fashion, so that we can get an answer. It sure seems like justice Thomas wants to look at this. Are these companies so big and so powerful that we need to break them up? Do we need to reform our antitrust? How do we have to do it? So we think that is that's the second avenue that we have to do. And then third, we need to look at, I think, regular Americans having a private right of action against these companies, the ability to sue when they censor you when they take down your content, when they throttle back your ability to reach people via social media. So I think those are the three things that we're trying to look at, but certainly to start its dissection two 30, that needs to happen
GOP Senator Tim Scott Seeks to Block Controversial Proposed Bank Account Monitoring
"I saw senator Tim Scott make a little speech about this woman that the Biden administration once confirmed as a top ranking Treasury Department official. And he just seems like he's in a state of shock. The left is trying to defend this doomed nominee and she better be doomed. You can not have somebody in charge of the purse strings who wants to blow up the banking industry. And wants to nationalize wants to federalize banking. Yeah, that's just what I want. The government calling all the shots with my checking account. They're nuts. They're purposefully picking people who are who are so radical and bizarre. I mean, Sean wants you to hear a little bit. We have senator Tim Scott queued up, right? I want you, this is four minutes. Like, it's like four and a half minutes. I want you to hear the whole thing. Because she was also convicted of shoplifting 25 years ago. Now, you could make the case 25 years ago is a long time. Incidentally, that's funny how the left and the woke crowd and all the crazed activists on social media don't seem to mind if it's 25 years ago if it's something they don't approve of. Then you better cancel somebody over what they did 25 years ago. But when it's a Biden nominee to do something like, oh, I don't know. Control the purse strings of America's monetary system well, that was a long time ago she should be forgiven. In fact, they say, those are personal attacks. You're attacking her. I mean, I don't even know what she's Asian, right? I don't even know what her ethnicity is. She appears to be Asian. I'm sure there's the left is ramping up all their bigotry defenses for her, right? All these mean Republicans don't like her because she's Asian. They're bigots. They're just they're just racists and bigots. No, she's a radical kook who has no business, no business whatsoever in a responsible position of authority at the Treasury Department. So keep all that in mind. Bear in mind that she shoplifted a couple decades ago, so people are mocking her for that. There's the racist thing. There's the same, you're getting personal with her. These are personal attacks. Don't do personal texts. So listen to this reasoned, eloquent, short of every man approach that U.S. senator Tim Scott from South Carolina takes in addressing Biden's nominee. I want to be fair, and I will be fair. I won't be hyperbolic, but I will be Frank and honest. I can not think of a nominee more poorly suited to be the control of the currency based solely on your public positions, statements, and the weight of your writings. Than you are. Let me just quote you versus anybody else. On the Green New Deal champion, you propose taking economic and climate policy making from Congress and creating an unaccountable bureaucracy called the national investment authority. In a round table this year, this year, you push to make the NIA the dedicated institutional platform at the federal level for really being the kind of fighting muscle of the Green New Deal and fighting muscle of you know all of these other movements that pursuing environmental justice, social equality and so on. You're disdain for the financial services industry. In 2019 in the documentary, titled, I'll be kind, buttholes, a theory. You said the financial services industry in my view and I don't think I'm alone here is the quintessential butthole
Rep. John Kennedy Lists Reasons Why Saule Omarova Is a Communist
"You wrote your thesis in college at Moscow state university on the title was Karl Marx's economic analysis and the theory of revolution in the capital But you won't send senator to me a copy You studied at university at Moscow state university scientific communism Which is the science regarding the working class struggle and the socialist agenda In 2019 not 30 years ago in a Canadian documentary you called the financial services industry quote a quintessential industry You roll a paper called systemically significant prices calling for the federal government to set wages food gas prices In 2020 you wrote a paper called the people's ledger Where you said we need to abolish bank accounts and make everybody set up an account at fear with the federal government will have access to your data In 2020 you wrote another paper called the climate case for a national investment authority where you said what we need to do the oil and gas industry is have the federal government bankrupt So we can tackle climate change In 2019 you joined the Facebook group a Marxist Facebook group to discuss socialist and anti capitalist views Now that's what I see from your record And you have the right to believe everyone of these things You do This is America But I don't mean any disrespect I don't know whether to call you professor or comrade Oh my goodness Senator I'm not a
Sen. Ed Markey Blames Republicans for Rising Oil Prices
"Now what the Democrats do the American Marxist dressed up as Democrats like senator Ed Markey who's a nuc job complete nut job He's at a press conference yesterday and he actually blames Republicans for dramatically rising oil prices Why Because they're in bed with the oil companies Let me ask you a question Would Donald Trump open federal lands to drilling When Donald Trump opened Anwar When Donald Trump deregulated the fossil fuel industry It prices go up or down mister producing They went down And also from a national security perspective we didn't have to rely on another country in the world We were selling oil overseas We had a vibrant job market in the oil industry and the oil industry is not just the oil rigs That's important too But it's everything related to it Pipe makers and fitters the production of steel for the pipes you need truckers you need trucks you need diners you need restaurants you need trucks it goes on and on and on You remember my pencil Or I pencil We'll have to play that again in the near future Probably shouldn't have said it because one of the back benches will jump But you understand And so when a guy like Ed Markey says the Republicans are in bed with the oil companies if the Republicans were in bed with the oil companies we'd be in good shape as consumers As consumers
Why Biden's COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate Is Unconstitutional
"Kansas, doctor Marshall, good morning, great to have you back. Hugh, good morning to you, a beautiful day here in the capital. But we got some great things to talk about today. We do I want to talk about vaccine mandates with you because you and senator lankford and senator Rubio are leading the charge to cabin the ability of the president to impose mandate. Look, these are unconstitutional. I explained this to Andy slavitt yesterday. What is it about the limited and enumerated powers of the constitution that your colleagues across the aisle do not get? It's just inconceivable. It is absolutely unconstitutional. Absolutely. It just a violation of our God given constitutional rights. Look, I support people getting the vaccine. My parents have had it. They've had their booster. And the other in the spectrum, my grandchildren had had the virus. I don't see the benefits outweigh the risk and certainly don't know why a young healthy person doesn't have the choice to take this, especially when the federal government does not take into account natural

"Working every day to remember the forgotten. The sean hannity show twenty five till the top of the hour. We'll get to your calls in a second eight hundred nine. Four one sean. Let me play you know with all the ever changing rules and mixed messaging the experts wrong. They're here there there. Everywhere you know everybody forgets so conservatives are gonna make people die. I supported operation warp speed from day. One in january twenty twenty. I was saying scientists medical research in america probably gonna save the world with therapeutics and ultimately vaccine and lo and behold we got it done and donald trump did it by by creating a system with warp speed where these pharmaceutical companies were not going to risk losing a fortune. If they didn't get the therapeutics the vaccine in record time which they ended up doing because they had the financial strength and support of the government to do that at the time All the vaccine hesitancy. Let's let's for example. Let's listen to ms dnc. Listen to their hesitancy. What they were saying in large part because i just hate donald trump since the pandemic began. We've heard a lot of promises about vaccines the race. To approve proven effective vaccine has taken a toll on public trust especially in the middle of a heated presidential election. Only twenty seven percent of americans say they would definitely get an approved. Corona virus vaccine trust vaccine among the american public is at an all time low and continuing to be mixed messages from the administration and from their own agencies strange announcement from the trump administration that they want states to have vaccine distribution centers. Ready to go by november. I two days before the election even though no vaccines are yet available laurie. Garrett says quote. I have no confidence that a safe effective vaccine. We'll be ready for use by halloween wars. I could no longer recommend that anyone retained faith. In any public health. Pronouncements issued by government agencies officials insist no corners are being cut. The timetable is simply too short for full safety else's of any vaccine and it seems like it's sort of cause for alarm that there's no standard promulgated by the fda or by anybody for comparing the relative effectiveness and safety of the various vaccines that are all being export operation. Warp speed is about delivering a vaccine faster than we have ever done it before the canopy down quickly and safely well the administration may want a vaccine for political reasons yesterday and frankly all of us would love a vaccine as soon as possible. Scientists are sounding the alarm that we must resist the urge to rush out a product. We aren't sure about because the vaccine safer. Is it not safe. There's a communist win is it coming. Donald trump has politicized the treatment and vaccine process from the very beginning. It's pretty unbelievable. Now listen to democrats. They were skeptical about taking the coroner's vaccine. I don't trust trump. it's trump accede. It'll call it the trump vaccine anymore as you know. President trump has promised a corona virus vaccine by the end of the year. Or maybe sooner. Would you trust that vaccine. No i would not trust his word. I would trust the word of public health experts and scientists but not donald trump first of all. I don't trust the president on vaccines. I think it's going to be a very skeptical. American public about taking the vaccine and it should be. He will push anything to get reelected. Don't fall for. And by the way i will take the vaccine after i would be hesitant to receive the vaccine if it were approved by the end of the year. I'm gonna yes. I would be hesitant. Mean if doctors and scientists like dr algae are taking that fact seen of course i will take the vaccine but we also know that we can't trust the president and take his word. I trust flaxseeds. I trust scientists. But i don't trust donald trump moment. The american people can't either. I believe all across the country. You're going to need someone other than this. Fda and this cdc saying it safe so predictable eight hundred nine four. One sean is on number. You wanna be a part of the program. Cindy is an iowa. Cindy glad you called. Thanks for being with us. Hi there I just have a couple of ahern First of all just about every day. Get a chance to hear part of what you're what you're talking about. And you keep talking about delaware. And they have stricter stricter stricter rules and laws and you know what it is because they always go democrat. If they didn't go democrat they would be. They would be the the left of of georgia and texas. So that's just something that I know you know that I just wanted to point it out. And the second thing i've been wondering about is where's kamala harris her little visit to the hospital on sunday and nothing has been said. There's no routine no routine physical or checkup on a sunday at a government hospital so I'm curious i. I think that if she were cova positive and she supposedly vaccinated. That would be a huge. Pr problem for the last. And i'd really like to know where she is and how she's doing. I'd never believe for a second that this was a scheduled medical checkup on a sunday. At walter reed. This is right. After she had met with the texas lawmakers that blew up in their private jet while they themselves were filibustering to ask democrats to end the filibuster so i i haven't really followed her schedule. Let me go. Look into that. And see if i can't get the answer for sure but i i don't recall seeing her after that and you know they're they're this very week. I mean when jen psaki and the biden administration of an asked how many people at the white house have contracted covert after everybody. There's been vaccinated. They don't wanna mention it again. You have one hundred. And fifty million americans fully vaccinated. And then you have one hundred and fifty thousand breakthrough cases that we at least know about. There's probably a lot more where people fully vaccinated still contract corona virus that the those are the cdc numbers and the you know we knew the efficacy was never one hundred percent to begin with now. We're seeing that maybe with the variance that these vaccines are less effective than the original corona virus. Which wouldn't scientifically shocked me or be surprising to me But it's the mix messaging that they keep giving us no massive. I then one mask then to mask. Then it's if you're vaccinated no mass but then maybe maybe you'll have masks indefinitely then you if you get vaccinated you're never going to have to worry about wearing a mask now you're back to being vaccinated wearing a mask and the confusion and the lack of trust is coming right out of the biden administration starting with joe and joe biden themselves Anyway i appreciate the call. Thank you cindy. Eight hundred nine four one. Sean is on number. If you wanna be a part of the program. He don't wanna play this. See this these comments chip roy. He wasn't he. He was very passionate on the house floor today. We have a crisis at our border or playing footsie with mask mandates. In the people's house this sham of an institution is doing nothing for the american people. Here's what he said declaration tonight. At city council that no illegal immigrants can be released in the city of you. Balloting per the cdc guidelines countries on their list without a negative cova test and we have had our health authority right orders that give us the authority to have them. Government border patrol immigrants torn team. Pretend.

"All right as we continue with our friend herschel walker. Let's talk about herschel. Walker a potential united states. Senator told me that you're giving it serious consideration. Where are you in this process. And and what do you think will be the determining factor for you to get into this crazy. I i know you've been in the octagon so you know what a battle is and your warrior your whole career. What would it take for herschel walker to jump in that race. Well you know i. It just takes that my family you know. They're they're They're putting together as well. Because it's not just about me. And that's why i keep telling people people to style like tomorrow decide right here. That's the guy. I got decide at my own time because i said this is bigger than just plan football. This is bigger than plan Getting into the octagon. This is the united states senate seat that can change the world know it can change georgia. It can change a lot of things so it's not something i got. I need to take lightly. I need to take it very very seriously. And that's what i've been doing and people may not understand that. But they don't understand herschel walker guys if you don't understand her to walk it has nothing you can do to me. They're got to deter me from my mission and my mission his and make the right decision for the state of georgia. Make the right decision for this. United states of america. Because i love this country. I love the state of georgia. I love this country stands for. we're country law and order wisconsin. They have borders. And i'm like that's what i that's what i know. And then you know. I love our military base every three weeks. I love the united states military right now. I think what we're doing. This country is not right to them. Let me ask you this. Because i think this is determinative in in so many different ways. If you if you've heard what stacey. Abrams and raphael warnock in jim. I'm sorry joe biden has said you know jim. Crow two point zero. Meanwhile the state of delaware has the most restrictive voting laws in the country compared to georgia. Which has some of the most accessible how they hurt that state with that narrative. Well they just continue to use that word jim crow. You know like i say. I'll say an element. You mentioned jim crow racism. Ah you're racist nobody can say anything. Let's get away from that. But i think people have to be on as i said. I love the lord. Jesus i love my god but you gotta speak the truth. The truth is we have a problem going on with something. That's going on country. Our leaders don't seem to want to respect what the constitution is united states that stands for and one of the things i was looking at. I say the ultimate office is you're supposed to defend the constitution. Foreign and domestic. That's the tate. Well i hear that. They want to change the constitution but the constitution is bigger than that. No part of whether you're republican or democrat should have the right to change the constitution. I wanted to explore this further with you. I like the idea that you're doing it your way and i know you that if you get in. I know you well enough and a long enough. That if you're in you're in to win that. I do know herschel walker. We love having you back. Your dear friend. Think the world you would love to see. Iran would support your candidacy in a heartbeat. Thank you for being with us. Thank you thank you sean. Appreciate.

"For legal coverage will wait for subpoenas no problem and then we start ornate on going into their counties and doing what we have to do. I want to get you to to repeat that when we come back. Few minutes left with colonel. Doug mastery state senator from the great state of pennsylvania. Both welcome back. You're talking to the state senator from the great commonwealth vania doug Doug you realize there's gonna be tremendous opposition. They will do anything and say anything to prevent from happening. Or you have put in motion. By god's grace they won't succeed. I hope a lot of people will be praying. Where do you think we are In three weeks from today for example. What are the options three weeks. A subpoenas go forth. My my committee will meet in the middle of summer. I guess one advantage of being full-time legislative body. I can call my committee anytime the counter they can get quorum. Subpoenas go out. The republican county is will will comply work at a time line with them. I can have this done in. two months. if democrats don't obstruct but they're about obstructing and keeping people hidden from the truth we will see tioga county cup compliance as seventy five twenty five five republican county. We'll see your county which is about sixty forty republican county my own district. I'm looking at your county. And then after that philadelphia until it off the we will come in because i have the constitutional authority it's been held up by state supreme court in numerous cases. I the cases here at recite them. You it's really irrelevant. But we have the rule of law. This nation is about laws and order and the constitution. And so we're going to move forth. Go ahead and challenge it in the courts josh shapiro. That's fine that that you're right within this constitutional republic not democracy but we will win in the end. The truth will come out and people i. i hope i'm wrong but erica. I'm i'm just a resolve that we're gonna find a lot of bad things since they're going working so hard in spreading so many lies to try to keep this from happening. It's just you know this is more exciting than any movie. This is reality. The whole country is looking at pennsylvania the whole country's looking at philadelphia the cradle of liberty. The place where it all happened. It's an amazing thing. I mean it's an amazing thing that benjamin franklin walked out of the constitutional convention and was asked by. Mrs powell was over her. That's the only reason we know about it. It was overheard. What are you giving us a monarchy republic a republic. Madam if you can keep it we are now and you sir are leading the charge to keep the republic. That's all this is. This is free. American citizens doing their duty working with the laws that are set up to keep us from tyranny. It's just an amazing. It's an amazing thing. I want people to appreciate the import of this because it's unprecedented. As far as i can tell i can. I just can't think of anything begins to compare to this i. I do hope a lot of people will be praying for you. Doug because god has delivered you into the center of this maelstrom for such a time as this to quote one of my favorite books. I'm you also were the one that called for the special session or the hearings rather in gettysburg back in was that november december twenty fifth. I i remember the time you struggling because a lot of people even in your own party were not being helpful We've just got less than a minute left. But why do you think people who call themselves. Republicans are willing to go along with this kind of corruption is kind of They don't seem to understand. What america's about you i see malays icy status quo. Don't rock the boat too. Hey just a steady easy on but you know what do you do. I never wanted to do this. I retired from the army. I was going to ride off the sunset lake so many cardinals deal with a sweet job. You know making lots of money and travel and i was complaining about after thirty years of sacrifice. The country was in bad shape and his twenty three year. Old kid looked at me and said colonel. Do something about it so this is me trying to do something about it here. So i'm asking americans. Please reach out to your. Legislators will reach out to your state senators and pennsylvania. The reps don't matter this is the state senate issue and asked them to get on board democrat or republican. We need to get on board is he. Got nothing to hide. Crack the books open. Let's get to the bottom of. This is the second american revolution at the precipice either. We bowed to tyranny Or we win our freedom again. I really do think this is the culmination of the fulfillment of lincoln's prophetic words at gettysburg. A new birth of freedom. It's kind of a simple choice. Doug muster yano. We thank god for you. We'll talk to you again soon. Thank you please. Keep praying for me i.

"To colonel. Doug master state senator doug monster yano come on man. We've got to figure this out colonel or states today. You're you'll be the state senator. So what do you think is going to happen philadelphia. Look there have been people. There's got him. Chris read a prophetic voice. He was on the said roth program. He said that he had a vision. Now i know for a lot of people. This is really loopy. And it's sort of neither here nor there ultimately but he said a few days. I think was november eleventh. That everybody's going to be looking at pennsylvania in philadelphia in the end. The whole nation is going to be looking there and i thought think of how procreate that is this is the very place service where the declaration of independence was written ratified the constitution. It doesn't get historic and yet today. Philadelphia is probably one of the most corrupt democratic strongholds. They've been getting away with this nonsense. So think this is going to play out State senator doug master you so well i first off. I want us to reflect back in sixteen. Eighty two william penn landed near warwick what we call philadelphia today and he spoke prophetically that this would be the seat of a nation. The place where we would do what is just and true and just fifty eight years after his death. That prophecy was fulfilled in seventeen. Seventy six with a light. Liberties was lit right in philadelphia. The heart birthplace in the heart and soul of our nation of philadelphia. And then of course a few years after that seventeen eighty seven the constitution was ratified after much debate and discussion. And we remember what. Mrs powell said the benjamin franklin leaving constitution hall. Well mr franklin what do we have in. It's in your book. You know a monarchy or republic and he said a republic if you can keep it and so we've been in a mode of trying to keep this republican we've had ups and downs and then of course. The biggest crisis was probably on a per second and third of july one hundred fifty eight years ago. Eighteen sixty three in gettysburg and the bloodiest place in north america where a new birth of freedom was secured an even years later in nine eleven two thousand one flight ninety three captured by terrorists and the christians and others on board. That plane got together. Todd beamer called talk to to get through to his wife but sock to a lady on the phone prayed the lord's prayer and he said let's roll so this is another moment in our time where it's time for us to roy. I never imagined a dream that i would be caught up in the middle this this storm here and so we have the hearing the so much controversy we hold hearings in the house and senate we issue report to governor vetoes. A reform packing is still nothing gets done in. So i i move forward with his very good faith approach exercise my constitutional powers to do forensic investigation scientific. I want everyone to participate in. You know either. It's right or wrong. No interpretation and i get such such a bellicose responses from the governor and the attorney general and you just kind of wonder what exactly are you afraid of. Are you hiding something. If i was governor of the state here if i disagreed with mastery and mastering agree with you but i got nothing to hide. The irony is is my governor campaign the most transparent governor pennsylvania history. He's a lease opposite with politicians. They say one thing. The campaign trail is gonna be the opposite. So i'm moving forward and then low and behold wolf begs president biden to come. Are you returning to the scene of a crime or something. I don't know what this is really this complete opposite of what you're doing. You're trying to suppress people's votes by not let us get to the bottom of what happened. I just want the truth and people to stay here. Demand the truth area to get it by god. Well think. think of this. If you are playing fast and loose and there's a level of corruption that's been going on for decades. The assumption is. It'll just keep going on. I've talked to people. Who are you know deep into the election. Stuff every four years and they say if you don't win in pennsylvania by five percent you lose in other words. They know that baked in is five percent of corruption. There's just no way around it and so what happens if you overplay your hand. And then suddenly they say well what's going on over there. This is what happened in watergate. Right remember they take the door. Open the burglars and somebody kind of a nightwatchman says what's this. Oh it's a door that's open and it just unravels on ravel's biggest scandal ever. That's what happened here. In other words you overplay your hand and people go You don't want maybe it's about time that we actually looked into what happens in a place like philadelphia. Why don't we do that. Their worst nightmare their worst nightmare that somebody would say. Let's open the books. Let's see what we have. Let's bring flashlight out. Let's let's look into that snake pit so they're scared to death. I wanna say it again. They're scared to death. People are gonna go to jail if there's any malfeasance here this is like jail time. These people are very scared. Who knows how involved governor wolf is in this. Let's just go back for a second to maricopa. What what is where are things in arizona now and how do you see if this is to begin to unravel is. Is that part of what's happening. Where are they now. I've never clear on where we are. The they've completed the recount and our account exceeded required. They had actually three is on each ballot. And apparently there's a big deficit to a big delta deficit between actual number of votes that were on hand as as as opposed to number of votes. That were reported that significant and apparently on the software side. They really been mum about that. But apparently the software is compromised Some routers may have been online so when this report comes out in a couple of weeks here. I think it's going to be pretty. Earth shattering and if we had even have a fraction of what comes out of arizona pennsylvania. It's a show changer. So most americans are not tuned into this. They're going about their lives thinking. Well we're under the biden diktat administration and they're not aware that a threat is being pulled. It's kinda like you get a pair tweezers and you see. Just the half of thread and you're trying to pull it and people saying you know those tweezers are illegal. You need to come with me. sir. this is just bad news and so it's not being covered much. That's why i wanted to talk to you on this program. This potentially leads to something that is going to be a gigantic crisis in the months ahead. So what is the time. Line on what you're trying to bring about in pennsylvania so they the three counties in question to republican democrat. Very bipartisan. approach very honest to elections looking at the twenty twenty general election in the primary we just had in. May i think that's a brilliant approach recommendation to add that the twenty twenty one primer was by my colleagues..

"It doesn't get bigger than this think. Carefully this is america Writ large. We have kind of small fish. A state senator able because of the founders. What they created a state. Senator is able to do something against insane opposition because of our constitution and our laws to bring clarity to one of the most important things you can have in a republic an election of a president and so many others so doug. It's just. It's an astonishing moment in history to me that you someone i think of as a friend as a state senator are able to use the mechanisms of this great government that we've had for almost two hundred fifty years to bring something about that. It's not just bearing on the future of america but the future of the world. I mean that is again not hyperbole. It's an astonishing moment. It you grit about this about the brightness and brightness of our founding fathers they lead empower state legislative junior senator. Such as myself to be able to do this. I've only been in seat for two years. It's not a job i ever wanted to do. Our served in the military. That was my my life goal. I did it all my adult life disavow but as you look around here so few people are willing to take a stand and so we. We did the first hearing on a twenty fifth and november and gettysburg. And that's my district. I'm blessed represent that area and it. It just seems to change the messaging than arizona. That hearing michigan georgia several others and then momentum loss but then arizona for his investigation of their own last month month and a half ago and the findings coming out of there. Really i opening and so i think pennsylvania will be one of many stepping up. You know i mean gosh. There's so much here we're going to take as much time as you have. But what's astonishing to me. First of all is that i remember. I'm old enough to remember watergate. And when people would say this is like one of the cliches but it's true it came out of watergate. People said the system works in other words. Something goes wrong. there's corruption we have a way of dealing with it of cleansing. It and then moving on i remember them. You know the morning gerry. ford took office You know our our long national nightmare is over. That was a different kind of nightmare Were now in a nightmare. Many many times more horrifying than that one but the system is working. It's an astonishing thing. Folks doug maestro needs your prayers if you believe in the god of the bible please..

Liz krueger okay. While we're waiting to get Senator krueger on the line again We are going to talk to her about her bill. To professionalize the new york city board of elections senator krueger is lead sponsor in the state senate along with assembly member nearly rozic of Queens in the assembly who a sponsor a bill in the legislature which has not moved but but may now based on some of the fiasco around the initial attempt at a ranked choice voting. Run off in the mayoral race and the city controller race. That went awry yesterday. And as we're talking right now. The board of elections has published a new A new attempt at the first preliminary run off of the ranked. Voting's in-person votes. Only again all of this is very unofficial and very Preliminary but things at the board of elections in new york city have been deeply problematic for a long time there would need to be a referendum in a change to the state constitution to really Alter the structure of the the city board of elections but in the meantime state senator krueger in assembly member. It's an attempt to as you pointed out there's probably a need for constitutional amendments that start from scratch and we came to do that through scratchy. But we really do think that we can create a responsible the agency that functions under a lot of the same standards we expect of other government is the bill which is assets to to sit with dramatic clear delineation of the bangladesh responsibilities of the tan appointed political commissioners to the board of elections and provide clear power's responsibility and duty for cohen. Executive directors backward from michigan and those executive directors can be held accountable to a process of being removed or pointed both importantly we the bill creates various training and continuing education requirements. For the commissioner's co executive directors and other staff. I'm for us as managers so that we have the fields. You need to do the job. And if you don't you're not continuing in that job frankly. The board of election has been a.

"S. senator and given all the things that we've talked about I asked her about how well the candidates have been doing in their out reach to the diverse communities in her state here's what I know we have a third of the population of Latinos we have the fastest growing ATI copulation in the country very strong vibrant African American population along with a native American populations and they're turning out there paying attention but you have to be talking to them now you can't come a last minute amounts before final action say oh I want your vote I want to talk to you you've got to be engaged in those communities now and I don't care what community you live in it is about economic security for the family good jobs education for their kids access to healthcare Mr Miller no matter what community you're talking do you feel that there has been enough of an effort among Democrats to register and energize and get these voters out because that is one of our ongoing criticisms I'll just have to say if the party apparatus as it were so are you seeing that effort to get people you know registered organized an out well I can see it in the back because that's literally what we have to do so yes I see that organization I see that happen about it now I can't speak for the rest of the country but I definitely know what's happening around we want to talk more about that out risa we've got Karissa Martinez de Castro on the line she is a deputy vice president at the Latino civil rights organization you need us thanks so much for joining us we appreciate it thank here it's great to be with you so let's talk more about this some of the things that we've been sort of touching on so far first of all how significant are the registration outreach efforts on the ground in the matter what are you saying there well one of the things we now right every time the election cycle rolls around there's these all these questions about whether nineteen as voter not in what we do now is that once registered Latinos in presidential elections vote at level very close to other groups eighty two eighty three percent of Latinos who are registered to vote the problem is and you were talking about this a little bit there's just not a lot of investment in actually closing registration gaps in our country to make sure that eligible Americans I register to vote and can I can I get you to take a pull up for brief pause here just a brief pause here we're coming right back to you we just need to take a brief pause to say you're listening to live special coverage of the Nevada democratic caucuses from NPR news from KQED news I'm Michelle Wiley well the Nevada caucuses are under way voters here in California have a few more early voting options today for our upcoming primary kick you stick me camp high reports several more early voting centers are now open and Santa Clara at San Matteo and napa counties these places and twelve other counties across the state adopted the voters choice act an optional law passed in twenty sixteen that aims to make it easier for residents to vote one big difference you can vote in person at any vote center in your county residents who live in counties out follow this law can also drop off mail in ballots register to vote or update voter registration at these voting centers even more early voting locations are expected to open up in these fifteen counties next Saturday I'm Tiffany can hi KQED news speaking of elections there's a proposition on the November ballot that's raising the question how can our property tax system be more fair to all Californians that's a question KQDS housing team is asking online in an attempt to create conversation that might lead to some solutions here to explain if Kiki senior editor of housing Erika Aguilar and Erica at this question is being raised because in November at they'll be an initiative to revamp prop thirteen yeah yeah yeah that's right prop thirteen you know is this voter initiative that passed in nineteen seventy eight and it's tight property tax rates to the purchase of the home you know at the time so ultimately what that does is cap revenues for cities local governments and schools but now there's this measure on the November ballot that will ask corporations and businesses to pay property taxes based on the current value of their property but there's you know still a lot of debate over how prop thirteen in general can be changed or more for share and that's the approach that we're taking with this project is to hear what people think about that supposed to go online and tell you what they think would be a fair property tax system but often comment sections just turn into people arguing yeah and you're hoping that this computing system using will help people come to a consensus yeah I hope so what I hope to hear is different ideas about what we can do to make prop thirteen maybe more fair to get past the polarizing debate I think we can all agree that seniors should be put out of their homes if they can't afford to live there because property taxes are just too high right we all can agree that seniors should not be living on the street but how we get there is so different you know the way this computing system works is will look for her likely words were words are matching up for ideas starting to align because what we're looking for is consensus where do we align on such a polarizing debate this is that we can come together and start having a conversation about what we agree on more than what we don't agree on when you expect to see the results of that we're gonna close the poll around March ninth so get your ideas and fast that was Eric Aguilar KQED senior editor of housing will tweet.

"The way matters show. We at nine eastern on MSNBC. I am very happy to say that California US Senator Kamla Harris is going to be my guest this hour right here in studio for the interview Senator Harris announced on Martin Luther King day this week that she is declaring herself a candidate for president of the United States. This will be Senator Harris first interview since she made that announcement on good Morning America on Monday morning, and I am really really looking forward to having her here. It's been a busy day in the news though. So there are a few other things that we are keeping an eye on that I want to get to before we bring Senator Harrison. On the day. When President Trump had his bizarre and unsettling summit in joint press appearance with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki this past July. Remember that remember the national freak out the dot occasion? The very same day that that summit happened in Helsinki. Federal prosecutors that day unsealed this criminal complaint against a woman named Maria Bettina, there's a Russian citizen. She was charged with having acted in this country secretly as an agent of the Russian government, and one of the things that was odd. Particularly at that moment in time when our president was behaving so strangely without Vladimir Putin in Helsinki. We now know also that that summit included a two hour meeting in which no other officials were present. No, other US officials were president were present other than Trump and Putin and from which no other US officials have ever even today been able to get. Any sort of description of the content of that conversation between Trump and Putin. Right. So it was weird at the time the more we've learned about it since then it's just gotten weirder and more sinister. But particularly on that day while that again unsettling spectacle was unfolding overseas. In Finland getting those charges unsealed that day about Maria Bettina..

"Or cross for prescription drugs. Get on the list, they need help with those costs. And and if their employer is not going to give them a pay raise. We ought to try to give them tax now. I know a lot of people don't like doing that. They don't like pull it out the tax Bill again and all that I get it. But I think we need to help need to focus on what middle class families have to obviously there's a lot of a lot of work. We can do a bipartisan way on healthcare, and I said by partisan, and I meant it. I think people there's despite our disagreements on on some of the repeal debates. I think there's a lot we can do together to get the cost of healthcare down to deal with these individual problems in the system instead of fighting about healthcare, we should be wanting to expand it and bring costs down. So it's just a short list. That's pretty it's pretty impressive list. I think it's why list that most people would actually agree with. I know you have to jump Senator Casey. But I need to ask you one critically important question. Did you go to the farm show yet this year? Hey, do they went Saturday. I've been doing this out public record. And this is gonna hurt my political career buying and say I to milkshakes eleven fifteen in the morning. Did you did you have the chocolate in vanilla mix? I had of own of the second one. I had was the MEK. Did you have an Amish down to wash it down? No this. This is the first year that I because I was I was going from one stop to the other. I never and never got a chance to stop for donuts. I'm I'm shy. It's I have to figure out a way to get one is three or twenty Senator Bob, Casey. Thank you so much for joining mainstream meets about way. I hope we get to do some nerdy historic tours. Tune. It's always a pleasure to have you. Join the show look forward to the next time. Senator Casey Bank. You so much Selena look forward to thanks. Bye. Bye. I am so excited about my next guest. It is Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin Senator Johnson. He just won reelection in two thousand and sixteen. He first one in two thousand and ten and Senator Johnson. Thank you so much for joining me on main street meets the beltway. William how you doing? I'm doing awesome. So the first thing you want to talk to talk to you about two things today. One of them being a rebuilding the conservative movement. Although I don't think the conservative movement is is dead and Wisconsin, not by longshot. You you still had a great year in Wisconsin. The Blue Wave that everyone was predicting didn't exactly sweep over the state that you did have some problems. But the first thing I want to talk about is the Joseph project, and it's for something that you have been involved with for how long sir it's we're going on three years, but it really came about yet. I've been in manufacturing for thirty years, and it's been a challenge hiring people into manufacturing environment. You tell all. You have to get a four year degree kind of implies that you. You know fact, you work or going to the trades is is sort of a second class status thing. Nothing could be further from the truth. But the bottom line in Wisconsin is a big manufacturing state and since I've become centers. I travel over the state there's not one manufacturing plant that I visited that can hire enough people. And so you realize there's all this opportunity all around the state, and yet we have these pockets of of high unemployment in places like Madison and Milwaukee. So, you know, just talking to my staff making that point, you know, endlessly through a bit of serendipity, a one of my staff members Orlando Owens is part of the greater pries are greater pretty church God in Christ and knows passer drums Smith, they started talking..

"Again to another edition of lift every voice. I cannot tell you. I am so excited about this episode because I am just literally hours have now passed since what was yesterday affectively around eight a little after eight o'clock where we passed a historic piece of legislation a call the first step act, which will get to in a second. But my guest today really is my champion on criminal Justice reform in the United States Senate when I was a very new Senator about five years ago, I came to the Senate to work on criminal Justice reform. It was one of the things that drove me to want to try to a run for the Senate in the first place and the guy who when I landed on the Senate floor and the democratic caucus who kind of took the under his arm would already had the seminal piece of legislation. Do sentencing reform is a man named dick Durbin, the Senator from Illinois. And I have him is my guest today. He led the charge to get this legislation passed, and I just want to thank him in welcome to this podcast. Thank you Senator van. Thanks corey. And it was a team effort. And I I was just happy as heck that you were by my side. It was a great great feeling on the floor last night. I think we made history. Clearly, we did. And I'd like to just go back a while. Because Senator the thing that makes me sad about you is that some of the best beaches. I've ever heard you give there's no press to listen to when you stand up, and you corral or caucus on moral issues. You are really one of the people that is a moral voice in the democratic caucus talking about the people that are often left behind the folks that don't have lobbyists. I've seen you stand up and talk for for immigrants and DACA kids. And then clearly on criminal Justice reform before I even got to the United States Senate. Now, you said something in the press conference, which was I thought it was really moving. Because you just told the truth about how we got into a certain hole, and how you've been on a mission for years and years and years now to get it maybe we can start there. Well, I said at the press conference, and I've said many times, you don't often hear Senator preface speech by saying let me tell you about the worst vote I ever cast. The worst vote ever cast was nine hundred eighty six along come crack cocaine, and we were told be frightened very frightened. It's dirty. It's easy to produce highly addictive. So destructive particularly to pregnant women..
