"De Blasio says he's starting a situation room now aimed at addressing concerns about the covert 1955 school staffers have been confirmed with the virus to seven days ahead of the start of school for thousands of New York Children. Meantime, the school teachers union says, we did not meet the goal of getting all the schools ready by any means. Dentyne wins reporter Carol D'Auria, now with more based on the state of the New York City school system, now President of the New York City Teachers Union, says the schools are not ready to open on time next Monday, Mayor De Blasio said he plans to hire 2000 more teachers and that 42% of the students plan to learn remotely at their home. But you have to President Michael Mulgrew says 2000. More teachers aren't enough. Plus, he says there were still problems with school safety supplies, ventilation and contact tracing, he says, it's all inadequate, just the testing last week. The fact that we have people coming back days after they were tested is literally what those doctors who were working with us we're afraid ofthe, Mulgrew says. It's just a handful of schools have problems. Those can remain closed. But he said if the problems persist citywide, and he says the reopening of schools will have to be delayed.

"Fish. I know we've all done it but the off chance that you haven't it turns out a powerful belief has permeated the angling community of late as if by Osmosis but in reality by Facebook, the idea is that if a fish is wounded presumably by having been fished the carbon dioxide and a can of pop can slow the bleeding by. A science thing to it, and so began the apparently growing practice of. Ginger Ale release among those who love fish enough to catch them with a hook, and enough to attempt to counteract said Hook catching with carbonation it's a beautiful complicated relationship. To test extremely plausible theory for some reason, researchers caught one hundred and fifty six northern pike. They then inflicted a minor gill injury via a pair of pliers. Then the researchers proceeded to apply Coca Cola, mountain dew or carbonated lake water to the wound. They determined that in each case, the treatment had absolutely no effect. If nothing more than pop science. So let's put an end to the whole coke and dagger operation..

"With the click of a button chiefs from five migos communities can send out important alerts without dealing with the RCMP. Today, a new indigenous lead emergency alert system goes live in Nova Scotia. It's the brainchild of Jennifer. Jesse she's the Emergency Management Coordinator with the Union of Nova Scotia Magma. We reached her in member to Nova Scotia. Ms Jesse why is it important for these five mg communities to have their own emergency alert system? So there are a lot of things that take place in our communities that are priorities to us, but may not affect the rest of the province. So such things as missing children and or severe weather alerts even boil water order can now be in control by our chief. And also Jessica go to our community members when it's something that just directly affects that individual community why could you not use the provincial alert system in that way though? the provincial alert system I did speak with them when in the beginning when I was beginning to develop a system and it turns out that the only way that that those alerts could be broadcast were kind of over cell phone and over the television. But one of the really important features of that was that it's not able to ring home telephone and for most of our elders in our community that's really their only form of communication. So that's really the major difference between air system and the provincial alert system. There's also a language component. Tell me about that. This is one thing to that I'm very excited about is when the chief is going to send the message, he can record his own voice. So it can both be in `Nigma and English which I feel is going to be A. Just gap to bridge between the language barrier when it comes to something that's as serious as any of these events could possibly be. So tell me how it actually works. Say the chief would record a message. What's the Protocol House the system operate so in developing this system it's called ever bridge and while working with them I, very specific as to what our communities needed. Our communities are unique and being a band member from S Kosonen. I felt like I was in a pretty good position to know and understand what our communities need the most. So there's a few things it had to be easy most importantly, both in the sign up and the delivery of the message. So I was able to work with ever bridge and I went ahead and set up accounts for each individual chief and all they need to. Do is put in their username password on any device they go in they title the message, they type it Oh and then that will convert from text to speech or they could do a little bit further and they click another little tab there and it says record your message. So they are able to record their own voice and that can both the in both make my. How did you come up with this idea I new into this position and there wasn't anybody in this position prior to me. So my director told me you know you can kind of take this physician any way you want to go. So when I started to think about, what would I like to make priority and I thought well, the most important component of any emergency is communication. So let's say God forbid, there's an active shooter in s Sony How are we telling everybody and so I said there's gotta be a way. Something must exist out there that we can communicate to where community members all at once and then I made the connection with ever bridge, and here we are you mentioned a mass shooting and of course, people will remember in April that Nova Scotia police did not issue an alert during that two day manhunt after twenty two people were killed how concerning was that for your community? Well fortunately, our communities where quite a distance away from where that tragedy took place. However I feel that whole. The whole entire incident really brought to light the importance of communication within our communities. Again, I come from a background of boots on the ground and not so much. The planning phases I'm usually the person put notifier saving a life. So I'm used to being in the middle of the emergency and can fully appreciate the chaos that must have been going on then and I guess I. Can kind of understand from that perspective how it may have been overlooked hopefully now, moving forward will be able to understand a little bit better when those shouldn't shouldn't go out. There's also real life example involving the the missing child scenario Michigan Young prison scenario the fourteen year old girl from one of these communities to went missing alert wasn't issued for over a week We now see a forty seven year old man charged with child abduction I. Know You created this before this incident but How vital is it that you won't have to wait for the RCMP to make a determination about whether an alert should be issued. Well you know we develop this system in spite of them or you know. To be able to kind of shine a light on the air CNN the decisions that they have to make sure they have their own specific criteria to meet in order to send out that alert but now with our communities being able to have that information. And this alert system available to them maybe that alert could have gone out sooner. It's hard to say each individual case I'm sure it's going to be different However, this alert could be sent out within minutes. So we hope to not exactly work against the CNBC when it comes to missing children but we hope that this may be able to bridge the gap where they're their provincial system has certain criteria, but ours is a little bit different. So now maybe this particular missing child doesn't meet the criteria for the province, but maybe we be able to send out the alert to our new system. As far as you know, are there any other alert systems like this in Canada? Not To my knowledge, I know ever bridge itself is a global entity and they do serve as many different areas as a matter of fact that the town of Truro has recently used ever bridge and watched in their community I'm. Going forward that loss of communities are going to see the benefit of having their own emergency alert system. Maybe even contact me to help them along the way because I'd be more than willing to help anybody who would like to set this up Ms Jesse. It's very nice to talk with you. Thank you so much. "Some people were happy to see you as President Donald Trump today in Kenosha, his supporters lined the streets during the president's tour of the Wisconsin City he came with a message of support for law enforcement. Here's part of what he had to say. You have. Some bad apples we all know that and will be taken care of through the system and is going to be easy on me there and you have people that joke they're under tremendous I said yesterday said it last night they're under tremendous pressure. And they may be there for fifteen years and of a spotless record and all of a sudden they're faced with the decision Deva quarter of a second quarter of a second to make a decision and if they make a wrong decision, one way or the other they're either dead or they're in big trouble. and. have to understand that. Donald Trump speaking during his visit to Kenosha Wisconsin this afternoon, the mayor didn't want him in the city neither did the governor and Jacob Lakes family made it perfectly clear. They were not welcoming the president as Mr Blake recovers in the hospital after police shot him multiple times in the back his family hosted a community event away from the president's tour with a bouncy castle and a voter registration booth. Here's Jacob Blake's Uncle Justin Blake. Speaking to the media this afternoon. We have words for the Orangemen I'll ask is that He keeps his disrespect, his foul language far away from my family need a president that's going to unite our country and take us in a different direction. Today. It's a free country can go anywhere. We want. We want the same. He got. We Wanna be able to get our children home safely because they should be able to go anywhere in this nation and come back home saying. His shot seven times. Justin Blake the ankle of Jacob Blake speaking earlier today in Kenosha Wisconsin Isaac. Wallner is a police reform activist. He founded the group Human Trust Project after the death of George Floyd we reach Mr Wallner in Kenosha earlier today. Mr Wallner how did you decide whether or not to protest against president trump's visit to Kenosha. Truly feel that. He feeds off of attention whether it's negative positive. So, this very, very political for him the conduct inertia habits. Photo op have his moment but I, also feel having people who are there that are against them on the ground with supporters of the time you watch that feeling the fire to push his law and order message to help boost his campaign as election chances. So did you at at some point way? Whether you would go or did you decide right away that this was not going to be for you? Originally. Wanted to. in talking to my mother and couple of people are like, wow, think about which already know what you express before about what I just told you and you're right. I sat down while it's not it's not worth it to go there and a potentially get into a fight with his supporters when we are what he says we are unfortunately that does Buddhist has election year and I feel like the no show is a lot better than that. We don't have to go down there and get into fights with supporters to let people know that we're not going to stand for who he is and what he's done took this nation. What have you seen so far that leads you to believe the president wants to see clashes between his supporters and those who are protesting police violence. Factor here. is absolutely no reason for him to be here at all the off-color remark sees made in the division. He has made what those remarks between African Americans and. People United States doesn't to US city were African American male shot in the back seven times. It's wrong and right there shows that he's looking to you incite. Some kind of unrest whether it be minor, it doesn't matter but he's looking to you to be that and people always talk about outside agitators come again to stay by truly feel as a right now am coming in here. Yes it's a free concert but definitely outside at sitter president trump claims that the conflict in Kenosha ended within an hour i. think that was his words He said he would be sending forces. What do you think of the fact that he's taking credit for the streets of Kenosha being more peaceful the last few days I was on the ground when the shooting happened with Carrot House we took to China another that was the last night of a very strong type protests and I'm riot when the chef department respond heavily onto dispersed a crowd and for him to take credits Nikki had nothing to do with their plenty of people here in Kenosha. Myself included Anna Coalition. I'm Ed that ran aground trying to keep the peace for the few days prior to that incident as well as that night. And for him to step up and take credit. People who saw the most at night dispersing the crowd was a sheriff's Department of from around the state, not the National Guard. So for him to take that credit, it's wrong. After touring the city today the president said that he had come to support law enforcement and he blamed what he says and I'm quoting violent mobs for acts of what he called domestic terrorism What does that characterization of what's been happening in your city mean to you? Say Violent MOMS domestic terrorism I mean is the destruction of property needed now. Yes. Alive people who were arrested over the Days, majority of them were now from Kenosha. They came from the outside they came there they deal with the do, but it's I truly feel though that. The things wouldn't happen if we had tighter scrutiny and tighter process on our police officers and making sure that they're not shooting people in the back seven times than I attack African American. So to me the true if you're GONNA call it, domestic terrorism is the attack on African American. So my raise in my brothers and sisters. Rather than the response that you've seen from the president. How do you think you could address those issues? I mean what kind of oversight could be applied to the police that would be perhaps the effect change? First and foremost the police departments have to. Precaution culturally represent the city that there can Osha is it's a mixed city, best black Hispanics were mix the also police department is primarily white. Now speaking to the chief and talk I spoke to him personally. Compatible sit down and ask him well, why Soglo I never really thought about that I guess I haven't really gotten out there. We try to push what we don't like. Wow you don't make it a priority. To push for more cultural caused diverse police department thing you're part of the problem. President, trump pledged today to spend several million dollars to help Kenosha rebuild from the damage that it suffered. Also tens of millions on law enforcement in the state at what would you prefer to see from politicians in terms of helping KENOSHA. Rebuilding Kenosha when it comes to harvey stricken areas. You spend all this money on law enforcement. That's fine. But until you rebuild these poverty, stricken.

"It's an expert of a sermon that Charles spurgeon delivered on Tuesday evening. May Fourth Eighteen fifty-eight Embu at Bloomsbury Chapel. And this is what he had to say. I see nothing in the Bible. That should lead me to believe that. The office of the preacher is more honorable than that of the teacher. It seems to me that every Sunday school teacher has a right to be put reverend before his name as much as I have. And if not if he discharges his trust he certainly is a honorable. He teaches his congregation in preaches to his class. I may preach to more and he to less but still he is doing the same work though in a small sphere. I am sure I can sympathize with Mr Kearney. When he said of his son Felix who left the missionary work to become an ambassador Felix has has traveled into an ambassador meaning to say that he was once a great person as a missionary but that he had he had afterwards accepted a comparatively comparatively insignificant office. So I think we may say of the Sabbath schoolteacher if he gives up his work because he cannot attend to it. An account of his enlarge business. He travels travails. His travels into a rich merchant. If he forsakes his teaching because he finds there is much else to do he reveals into something less than he was before with one exception if he is obligated to give up to tend to his own family in makes that family his Sabbath School Class. There is no derailing their. He stands in the same position as he did before. I say they who teach they who seek to pluck souls as brands from the burning are to be considered as honorable persons second far to him from whom they received their commission but still in some sweet sense lifted up to become fellows with him for he calls them his brethren and his friends there. We Go Charles Charles. Spurgeon next up of the sermon called The Sunday school teacher a steward and he pulls this from Luke Chapter Number Sixteen Verse Number. Two and he called him and said unto him. How is it that I hear? The this of the given account of their stewardship for Thou may be no longer stewart. He his main thing was here was give an account for the stewardship. And let's talk about stewardship. That is really a manager. Okay of of responsibility and someday one day we are going to give an account to God of our stewardship spurgeon mentioned that never looked down on children's work it is a serious responsibility a responsibility to teach them the things of God. If we look in James Chapter three verses one through two it says my brother be not many masters knowing that we shall receive a greater condemnation for in many things we offer all if any man offend not in word the same is a perfect man and able also to bridle the whole body so we need to look at the whole the whole focus of our responsibility and mostly talking to people that have children specifically in this message in this does not. This is not also. Don't don't think this message is also for the person that doesn't have a child because you may have a child or you have responsibility and you can apply this to whatever responsibility you have. We need to. We need to look in. Take care of our children. The ones that God has given us to be able to teach take care of and also to give a future now. That's the stewardship I'm talking about. That's stewardship is given to an account to God as children grow up. I remember with both of my boys. When is an adult and one is turning seventeen and a couple of days I think about when there are children when I first had him brought them home they didn't move? They just cried? And I changed your diaper and gave them food okay. It was a beautiful time in my life but I had a feed him had to clean them at wash them and I from that. They became toddlers and the destroyed stuff in the house. They climbed on stuff. They threw tantrums. They they did all the things that I think of a two year old right now. They become elementary. They ask questions. Daddy's everything to them in the world. Moms everything to the world and it's a beautiful time. They become teenagers. Oh there's other things in the world I must apply everything else in the world to what my parents teach me and I'll learn best way I possibly can. And then they become adults or they take a step and then they take what we applied to them as I walk on in life throughout the whole process is a responsibility of stewardship to them in. It is a struggling one. It is one that we have to that. We will give an account to God for in to do that. We have to be parents. We have to be the ones for the children. Not Giving our children to other people to raise or give our children to other people to educate our give our children to some other people to be able to socialize them. It is our responsibility and to do that. We have to be above reproach reproach on how we do it meaning that we need to educate ourselves in the sense of. I'm not asking you to get a bachelor's Master's doctorates saying get the research of yourself by asking wise counsel by going to the word God in just if you have the Logos Bible software if you just search wife husband man woman any of those. You'll get a plethora of resources that will tell you where to look in the Bible but we need to do the research to be to be a stewart. We have to put our best foot forward. And that's through the word of God. I'm talking about not by us. Giving the responsibility of teaching our children who Jesus Crisis Teaching our children those stories of the Bible teaching our children the word of God and to teach them the importance of fellowship and worship at Church. You see you just. Don't put the kid in the church. Say Make them religious. You just don't don't throw them over there. You as the parent need to study know. The Bible not perfect because no one is perfect but to get comfortable with the Bible and to get comfortable with going to church. Church is a beautiful thing. It's a place of family. It's a place fellowship in a few put church important in your life. It's also your social focal point for you and your family is the place where your children will get to know other children. It's a place where you get to know other adults and other families but we just don't throw over there to the church the Church take care of them macomb religious. We just don't throw them over to the school. Say School make him smart. Don't throw them over to the after school programs. Make Him Athlete Athlete. No that's our responsibility as being appearance. That's us that's mom. That's dad if you're a single mom or single dad that's you. That is the stewardship and wet. Spurgeon is bringing to. The point is don't overlook your children meaning that don't don't fall short of your stewardship your responsibility your management of your children place upon someone else. The sacrifice of being the parent like spurgeon was mentioning here and also all the other verses is that it is not an easy task. It's a dying task. It's a frustrating task. It's argumentative task between two adults husband. Wife to put it more bluntly but that's one where we have to turn to God. That's one where I know me personally just got I can't do it anymore. I don't know what needs to be done and praying. Give him the answer he needs as I have two boys spurgeon also put in the second note is if it is your responsibility. Thank God for the privilege and asked him to make you a faithful steward if we look at. First Corinthians chapter four the second versus says moreover it is required and Stewart's that a man be found faithful. Go back to that point. He stated it is your responsibility. Thank God for the privilege and asked him to make you a full Stewart. We we're retired and stewardship. We're required to be faithful. We need to be faithful and we need to realize first of all what is the priority in our life in my home that my children are expendable media and my wife and I can always have more children but they are very important in all seriousness. Because that child is going to leave the home and represent you and your family but most importantly he's going to represent his severe or her savior. Imagine if someone left your home and doesn't have a testimony for Jesus Christ because you as the parent wasn't a Stewart and showing them the Bible or wasn't a Stewart to educate them and they're now leaving your home and they can't spell or they can't do grammar. They can't write a sentence. You can't blame the school. You can't blame the church because I just told you hear that you're the Stewart. We are accountable. So do the best you possibly can right now and be faithful to God to husband and wife and two family which includes your children and be as Stewart for them. And you say well. I'm just a housewife. God gave that housewife. You and your husband. Those children don't think that they're just your husband's your wife's there for both of you and sometimes hearing these messages that I've that I've been speaking of are tough and you don't want to come to the realization that I just stink as a parent. Trust me I've had those conversations numerous times. I'm constantly apologizing to my kids. I wish I was a better parent. You can ask them but I do know that I have the best teacher for me in the best steward for me. Which is Jesus Christ and he wrote me the best instruction book in the world which is called the Bible and I can open it up or I can bring it on my screen or I can search words on the screen and it can bring me up all the verses or I can read chapter after chapter and verse after verse but I can get the knowledge right there. Don't be the one to turn to the neighbor at times when you have the responsibility. Don't be the one to turn to the talk shows on TV. Don't be the one to turn to the self help books come to the realization. Who gave you these children? It is God so therefore I need to get with God and see where he wants me to do with these children. And that's through the word of God nominal close today and I just want to end this with you if you do no apparent that struggling or having a hard time with their children or especially during this cova or this coverted whenever this gets published that regardless they're responsible please share it to them. Please share to other family.

I'm really involved in ministry at my church my kids ministries in a direct college ministry church. While you guys are busy. You're busy busy bunch We love your family dearly. We're good friends with you guys and As a matter of fact your wife Leah and I are really good friends and her parents. The first time we met I think it was like twelve and her parents were mining. Garrett pre marriage counselors and that was twenty four years ago that was actually a little over them twenty four years ago because we are just celebrating our twenty th anniversary so yeah thank you only by the grace of God So it's been really neat to see your family Grow I know is to be kind of a little part of of helping with your wedding and So we've we've seen your your family grow from the very beginning and high because it's for the Internet. Connectivity is the best right right so for those watching this on video that Sophie in the back anyway I love your story of how been home schooled to where God has brought you today and I was talking to somebody recently and she said you know I. I don't see that a lot of homeschool graduates are doing a lot of things and being really successful in life. Now this is someone who comes from. Who does not come from a background of homeschooling and well? You know the reason that you may not see that quite yet is because whole first. Big Generation of home school graduates are just now really into their adult hood. They're in their maybe late twenties to mid thirties And really starting to shine as adults. And so you're one of those got his dense. Amazing things with you Talk a little bit first about what your home. School journey was like growing up. Because I know you are. I don't want to say I mean you might say unschooled but I won't say that you were unschooled but I know you had kind of a loose school structure Growing up and then to where you are today and what God is done with you so I don't know if I mentioned this by. My Dad was a public school teacher for thirty seven years. He was teaching high school And that's what sort of motivated him to make the decision to home school. It wasn't it wasn't necessarily. Because he wanted to protect us from indoctrination he just saw the system is broken. Educationally students were not learning. They were not being taught And so he realized I could do this better on my own And and he did I just finished my second masters degree. Most of my siblings out Masters degrees a lot of us are Very successful working professionals But because he because his response wasn't to try to maybe pull US OUT AND PROTECT FROM SYSTEM. Very educationally focused on. He had some radical ideas about how he was going to educate. Educate US and some some people might describe it as schooling but it wasn't because our mathematics was very structured so mathematics or something that we did every day we had to. We had to put in time. We had to work systematically through he wrote are Krige on mathematics or reading that was very structured readings very structured. He's sort of designed those keys. If you have your math you have your reading. You can do anything so outside of that. It was more Whatever are nationalists so like I remember one year high school instead of doing? Us history spent the entire year. Doing Research on George Washington just fascinated me and so I just I did also this research on him and I learned. Us history by studying the life of George Washington and so that that's that was sort of the UN schooling bid is. It was a little bit passion driven but the the math and the English portion. Where we're very sorry. My Dad is a strict grammarian. Even in my master's graduate programs I would send my research papers to him and say Hey. Can you check my grammar? And he would always inevitably something. I was hoping after my second masters degree on finally arrive. Where you WANNA go with by any errors but he can get always see them. Yeah so our.
