"The killings are planned for the early morning on Saint Bartholomew's day, August twenty fifth and they're to be carried out by the king's Royal bodyguards and geeze troops at the same time. Alicia men would be guarding the city's gates and barges would block the send. So they're shutting off the city and the signal would be three AM bell of the Palais disuse dis. But the massacre starts minute earlier when a bell rings out from different church on the first one to be killed is Coleen one of the first major major leaders, and he's very disdainful of his geeze guard assassin he says, I should at least be killed by gentlemen, and not by this bore. And then he's run through with the sword thrown out the window alive and later beheaded in at the Louvre there's all out slaughter going on Henry of Navarre head woken up early. Couldn't sleep decides to play a little game of tennis with his friends while he waits for Charles to wake up. And on the way to the tennis courts and his friends are stopped by the king's men and separated his companions are probably all taken away and killed immediately. But Navarre is locked up with his cousin the prince of Conde for safety. These two are going to be spared. They're not going to be killed in this massacre of Protestants, the Hugh not staying in the palace are dragged from their beds and have their throats slit, some try to hide some tie to run in the courtyard, but they're shot down by archers or pushed toward the line of Swiss guards and a sad note about Catherine daughters Margot, she's now, of course, the wife of a Huguenot, and she's in the middle of all of it. Yeah. Her sister had tried to warn her. Something was going on didn't give her details of the plot. But had begged her mother to let Margot stay with them for the night, and Catherine wouldn't allow it because she figured if her her daughter didn't return to the Huguenot apartments, the Protestants might realize. Thing was up. So yeah, Margot is in the middle of all this. She's actually in bed. When one of her husband's men comes running in covered in blood and clings to her for dear life being pursued by an assassin right behind him. The guy actually spares his life and Margo personally petitions for a couple more of her husband's men, but by five am nearly all of the major French Protestants have been killed. So the list has been killed by five by five AM. But the killing doesn't stop with the list the rest of the populace gets involved, lots of French Protestants have brought their families into town for the wedding. And they can't escape their homes are rated their children are killed their bodies are thrown in the river and personal issues that have absolutely nothing to do with religion were also settled in the chaos because if everyone's getting killed who's going to know if you kill your creditor or your enemy or your wife. Yeah. It's a good time to to take care of things nobody'll notice. So Charles, obviously was not intending for this level of bloodshed to happen. And he asks the people of Paris to please stop, and they don't it goes on for three days. And then it spreads to the provinces where it goes on until October, and Katie, and I were talking about what sort of message would that be you have a a guy rides out and says, they're killing everyone in Paris. You should do that. Where you are. We're not sure how that works. The final tally is a bit up in the air Catholic apologist puts it at only two thousand a Huguenot puts it at seventy thousand. But it's likely that there were at least three thousand people killed in Paris alone. In a few senior Huguenot do manage to escape a few people had decided that they might want to move their quarters across the river. You know, just in case trouble broke out between all the Catholics and all the Hugo noughts that were in Paris at once and. A few of them ended up being able to escape and they were the seeds for new rebellion. So the aftermath is that the vowel walk cannot get their story straight about what happened Charles is telling contradictory tales to the Protestants..

"Store, and I buy exactly what you're talking about their little gel right ball lifted. Yeah. You lift a top on it. And then you just take off the seal, and they have I mean, again, it's a dollar lavender. They have that ocean. Smell. They have a lemon for your kitchen. But she's taken off you put it under your sink, and it smells, so good. I'm not getting any kickbacks here from glade. This is happens to be the one that I chose the cool thing was I always talk about. Kashmir woods on my Facebook page about three or four weeks ago. Somebody sent me a link which was the coolest thing. I've never I have to go and find this. They have I guess in the paint section. It's made by glade. It's legitimate. Kashmir woods. It's a liquid that you pour into your paint. Really? And you mix it in your paint. And so when when you paint your wall for about three or four months your wall will smell like whatever sent so I could actually have Kashmir woods in the wall. In in the in the pores of my how you should do that. I was thinking we should ask Lou about because if it's made is a is a paint or be an added, obviously is an added soluble that can say for your walls. Well, the reason we're talking I I I don't want it to bubble. But the reason we're talking about this is so my wife, and I we just came back from a a great trip. We went on the letter go with you. Many Elton conscious. But for vacation she does. And so we went on a one of those river cruises. Oh, yeah. You were talking about you were on the Danube. So we went through Germany, and Hungary, and we started in in Nuremberg, which is cool. And we also went to Australia. Well, we went to all in all these European cities. They have the Christmas markets. Have you went like right after thanksgiving? So we went Chris kindle. Yeah. So he was just like they have here in downtown Chicago, Naperville, they had. Yeah. So in Europe. I mean, they are these are this is where the whole tradition started in Germany and things like that. So these are major throughout their spread out throughout the whole city some cities have five or six or seven or eight or ten they give you a map market. Yeah. So on our last day in Budapest. And that's how you say it when you go to Budapest. You don't say test you eating you say patched, patched patched. It's like Barcelona. Yeah. Exactly. And there's two two districts anyway, so we go to the market, and we haven't bought anything in like the whole trip to bring home. So they had this one guy right toward the end as we're walking out of the of the last market. We were going to see there's these little characters with their mouths open and their smoke coming out of them. And so I'm like, what are these all I know what you're going to say. So these are these German smokers. Call for instance, you put the incense in this in the smoker, and it's a character and his mouth is open. Here's like a little pipe smoking. But then you put the incense when you burn the insects. It comes out of the mouth. See I love it. I love that smell. And I liked it smell outside. I don't know. Is it too strong have in your? So here's the thing. So I see this. And when I was a kid back in the grownup. I remember and my dad was meat and potatoes guy, but he got for in the seventies. Incense got like cool. He started burning incense like these little incense sticks in our house. Right. Oh. And it was just like, yeah. I remember being an altar boy at good old Saint Bartholomew northwest side when I used to do weddings or especially funerals. They would have the incense the Greek to the other Greek churches that I had gone to for years. They burn the intent in it, smells, wonderful. Brought back when I smell these these little guys all smoking on the skins guys. If. If brought back that memory of my dad, burning the incense in our house it brought back the memories of being an altar boy, and I go we have to buy one of these and did you? So there hit a Santa when I love Santa Santa addiction. So we bought a Santa, and then they had the incense that you could buy. So at the time they had three or four. So we bought apple cinnamon, which is my favorite of all love apple in. Kashmir woods. Well, I don't know. So apple cinnamon, and we bought pine love, and we also bought vanilla. Okay. Well, now, we get home. I might be gotta use this guy up. So now, I'm online buying intense. And that's why I wanted to even have to ask colors or textures where do I buy like, really good incense? All my guys. I bought some good stuff. It's called M H E M online, and it's doing it's doing fine. But now I'm obsessed with incense. I have I'd like to.

"Exactly, what makes nNcholas house unique. I know. But I think it's important for them to know as well, nNcholas houses, unique and distinct ways number one, we accept families of any composition. What that means is that any composition of families that could include single mothers single fathers. It could include a married. Couple. Good include same sex partners. It could include grandmothers raising grandchildren. If they are all homeless. There is a place for them at nNcholas house. A lot of people don't understand. But in many Atlanta area shelters families are often separated that could include older children in the family that will then get transferred to us shelter or an adult shelter depending on their age, married. Couples are often separated the female will go to women's shelter. The male will. Go to amend shelter. So as you add separation, anxiety and depression to an already crisis situation involving family homelessness. It makes it very difficult for families and takes a huge hole on them to just give you a little history of nNcholas house. We were started over thirty six years ago. We've been in the community initially as part of the Saint Bartholomew episcopal church in Tucker, Georgia. And the church was responding to a growing need a families that were in need of food initially, and as they saw large number of families that were showing up at the're food pantry. They also determined that a number of them were homeless so the congregation met, and they determined that they would open up their Cindy sue classes about five of them to homeless families. Well, as you can imagine Amanda, the demand grew and they were not able to to respond to the capacity and the large number of families at that time that were homeless so they reached out to the United way of greater Lanta and the United way referred the church at the time also to the community foundation of greater Atlanta. And as part of that collaborative discussion it was determined that. There was a donor in the grant park area. It had a house that they want it to donate.

"All the people including absolutely beautifully painted female figure with a very lovely pink a mantle on pointing to him she's basically she looks like one of michelangelo's figures in the sistine chapel ceiling and yes it is looks very much like the pose of the libyan civil and some of the other figures that michaelangelo did adapted or in some cases people would say even in his own time plagiarising michelangelo or leonardo for his own subjects well raphael is able to take in adapt one of those figures from the sistine chapel ceiling in use it as one of the principal figures at the bottom of the transfiguration painting the woman beautifully arrayed in pink pointing to the possessed the boy whose just there rioting and he is going to be cured i think by saint bartholomew who is right there on i to the to the left so you have all this going on at the same time where you have the transfiguration itself taking place with christ rising into a gorgeous sky the light diffused with the clouds behind him and music making angels all around him done in a highly anatomical style again the influence of win ardo end michaelangelo but the overall effect of the painting is absolutely overwhelming if you were to go to the vatican in your see one painting you had time for one painting there and then you're going to go to a restaurant you're gonna see some sculpture the roman emperors or whatever the new litter the hallways they're if you're only going to see one painting you would be happy to have seen that one painted you wanna stay an hour in front of it looking at it um um but that that that influence of michelangelo in his sculpture and began gelo as a draftsman as a painter as a colors does an all round polymath same thing with leonardo a huge influence on on rafeal well what this exhibition at the houston is going to be covering is going to be the sort of later relationship the much more amicable relationship between the older michelangelo and pope paul the third from the very wealthy for an as a.

"A dominican republic in haiti cuba also being threatened a it has has there been any uh update on weather this storm is still going to uh caused widespread destruction in those places it certainly is very very high winds we have wind in access of one hundred twenty miles per hour with an incredible storm surge we expect be hurricane fell to strengthen for at least another 48 hours or strengthen or rather keep its current um it's current energy going and then by the time we get to up friday or saturday that's when will maybe start to see a slight decline in its in its power and then it'll big probably get downgraded to a categories priore for just before making landfall while this report that for example routes roofs were ripped off buildings and homes were flooded on the islands of saint bartholomew in san martin the eye of the storm passed overhead uh is there are going to be any lingering effects in terms let's start with a transport and i'm thinking of oil that needs to come out of the venezuela and be refined yes so there are a few number for a number of finery center in the way certainly those were on the islands um that you mentioned previously in also a couple in the d r and haiti and so any ships that are trying to make their way over there certainly not going to be able to um in the coming days now as far as the actual assets are conflicts concern the refineries does may definitely be out of service until further recovery efforts can be put into place.
