"Country tonight. Ryan Edwards, Benjamin. All right. Thank you. Quinn. Minors for joining us in the previous segment will get the interview of the Broncos country tonight dot com. There's a lot of fun talk to him. He was one of the stars is not often as an offensive lineman. You get noticed unless usually are making mistakes. But from day one, he was a guy that stood out. I did think that match up with Levi Osa Rekha. And Quinn miners was the best one. I appreciate him pointing out to U C L, a defensive tackle, but otherwise I I thought that was his his best match up. We only got to see a day one, but otherwise he likes that. He was just really good the entire time He came out and blew the doors off, and that's that's what you want to see. You won't see a guy like that it played at that level. Or in this case last year didn't play. You come out there and do them. You don't put to rest any of the competition stuff. You did see that you you mentioned Mark. Bet earlier. Been party. The guys like that, You know, they do have to answer those questions. And I He acquitted himself admirably. Absolutely. We're open to a catch with Richie Grant. By the way, maybe a little later on this week. We're efforting. If you will. Tomorrow on the program, we're gonna have Rod Smith and Kareem Jackson. Was part of an All Star lineup. We're also gonna have Tim Jenkins on to talk about Mack Jones, who Right back. Jones. He's got him is his second favorite quarterback. Just I mean, excluding forever. Lawrence right now because he hasn't yet section done tape on him, but he's got he's got Wilson's number one. You tell him. Uh, it does not surprise me that he has a non athletic, hyper accurate quarterback. Is this top guy? Yeah, I will definitely mention that. The best part, though, is he? We've got his list. And so he went. Wilson. I better actually pull this up because he was pretty funny. I don't want to see it. Speak out. Kendall, hidden in front of Trey lasted Yes, gentlemen, for a trail as I was, like, Do you gotta be kidding me? He was He was messing with people. But, yeah, it was. Of course, he was messing with people. But my goodness that Z That's pretty rough right there For all the Freelance hive. That is just out there on Twitter. We're gonna have George story from pro football focus here in a matter of moments, Also a little later on Ryan Konigsberg from D N v. R, and a nice article up on their website about no fans. Today, we'll talk to him a little bit about that wall to get into the quarterback care cell. It's kind of an interesting situation and again. Ben is gonna be some cold water on me. But I I think the quarterback care of cells one of the more fascinating topics this offseason. We'll get that. But I want to put out a stat real quick that was passed today. That I found fascinating. Between you know, because you have all these people takes nerves all the time to sit there. You have to draft a quarterback in the first round. You know you're not committed to him. If you don't know whatever. Whatever it is, they say, I don't know. It's like stupid anyway. 22. Quarterbacks were drafted in the first round between 2009. In 2016. Only one of those is still with the team that drafted him. 22 quarterbacks and I will list them. Tell you Josh Freeman, Mark Sanchez, Matt Stafford, Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford, Christian Ponder Blaine Gabbert, Jake Locker. Cam Newton, Brandon Weeden, Ryan Tannehill, RG three Andrew Luck, EJ Manual. Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel, Blake Bortles, Marcus Mariota, Jamis, Winston, Paxton Lynch Jared Golf. And Carson Wentz is the only one still with the team. The dragging well, 2009 Andrew Lunches $1006 look, is retired. All right, let's head out to the hotline. Every got a very good friend of the program. Well, you'll remain a good friend of the program as long as he answers the next series of questions correctly, And that is George jury at Pff underscored George. First of all, George, It's good to have you on the program. How are you? I'm doing well. And that a swell is Andrew luck who is enjoying retirement at a young age, which right now kind of jealous of be honest with you, But I'm doing good man. I'm excited How you guys doing Good. It's weird. If you're Andrew luck and you find out you're trending on Twitter today. Even though you've been retired, and you really haven't done anything, But yet you were trending on Twitter because some texts were circulating that were not you. I mean, I think it would be kind of a weird moment if you were me. Do you think he has any idea what point? Did someone call him call? What point? Did somebody telegram him? Good point. I mean, here's the thing that I was wondering, I was like, certainly. There someone that knows him that saw this, But I don't know that that person is on a you know, is on a texting basis of them like I wouldn't be surprised if you so out of it, you know, and in his own world that he doesn't even have some when he talks to regularly use on Twitter. Yeah, he doesn't even have I can tell you He's a flip phone doesn't even have a smartphone. And Yeah, it Z one of the things that Orson text message out there purportedly from his wife today, we're totally false. And in some that were reportedly from him. I'm like, Well, I know that one from him because that's an iPhone and he doesn't have an iPhone. So, um, yeah, I found it funny. Now he may ultimately come back. You may have those kinds of discussions, but the text messages that are out there on Twitter that stuff totally false..

"To a Broncos Country tonight. Ryan Edwards. Benjamin Albright Hit us up on the phone three or 3713, 85 85 or on the text line 56690, as always, on Twitter at all right in F L. Although he might switch over to at Albright MLB for tomorrow's press conference begin to that just a second or Edward's regular station, of course, at K Away Colorado. What then? I'm just drinking some cool, crisp, refreshing water as I've been doing for the last week or so while we were down in Mobile, Alabama. Yeah. Older between practices and Bible study, you know, we got it done down there at the Senior Bowl. You like tonic water? That's the thing I didn't I didn't know about you. Do you mean? I do not know this about me. But I didn't. I didn't know that about you. Because I think tonic water is just straight garbage, but tonic water in my vodka, E. No, but I can't even do it. I can't even do it like that. I just no interest whatsoever. Do you drink vodka with Like soda or something. I don't know. Sony has no sweetness to what's what? It's just disgusting. Sick drinking vodka and Perrier. Why would you will agree to disagree? It's terrible. This one with you just know this is no. This is what you put vodka and soda. Yeah, I lose Red Bull, You know, Okay, we'll see that has sweetie. That's such a tonic Water's Red Bull without the Red Bulls. Tonic water is okay. You know, I I thought you just understand that a lot of people probably think that's gross. But you know what? I don't understand how you think it's gross. But you also think popcorn is gross. Yeah, I do think popcorn is gross. But it's been a lot of time around popcorn. And when your entire wardrobe smells like popcorn, like even the stuff you wanna wear to school or out on a date. Then you have a different perception on this sort of thing. I spent a lot of time around. You run Should I think you're gross? Oh, gosh. You are here in one of those kinds of moods tonight. It's official came down just moments ago. No one ARN Otto is a Saint Louis Cardinal house way. The details of the trader like this, the Rockies air sitting around $50 million Cash considerations. If you will, to the sailors, cardinals, they're gonna get lefty. Awesome. Gamber, who has the most experience of the group is a relative term shortstop Matteo Gil righty, Tony Losi. Infielder L. Harris Month and righty Jake Summers and l hear us. I'm probably messing that up, but the best I could do. Ella Harris Montero is the highest ranked prospect He's attacked in prospect off the group. He's number nine on some list Number seven on others bombers used to be was seven before an injury and he's now out of the will be top 100 but used to be right. So that's really what the what the deal is the back of the rotation pitcher in those two prospects and two throw aways, and they paid 50 million bucks to do it, and they paid $50 million to do it. Tomorrow, its head. I am There will be a press conference. I'm have to imagine. We'll cover here on K O in his radio. But tomorrow at 10 am there'll be a news press conference with Jeff, Bright age and Dick Monfort, the owner, and I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of interesting colonel statements coming out of that and a lot of questions coming from the media. I mean, fans. This is where I think the media. This is where we have to really do our job. Because this is the conduit like like the fans are angry. Yeah, they're tearing down the city angry about this situation. You follow my logic, okay? And as result of that They don't have a direct voice to the GM or the owner, right? But through the media, this is where we as the media needs to step up and ask some tough questions. How embarrassed well the flagship be if If I actually get into that thing of all I mean, are you We are the Rockies collection. How embarrassing Everybody gonna be if I actually get it because I'm going to ask the tough questions. But there's there's asking, looking. I don't want to parse this out. There's asking tough questions. And then there's just, you know, straight up insulting and I'm trying to decide which side of that you wanna be on both. I would straddle the fence on that baby. What? I want to ask the question while conveying my contempt. Okay now. Well, how do you How do you trade away? The best third baseman since Brooks Robinson. And a stimulus check for a town of 85,000. And just get that back. Yes. Not great. It's not great. It's like that. I mean, seriously and watching the Cardinals on their social media battle with Rocky Social Media's doing a tremendous job to do the best they can, and they're tweeting out a bunch of nostalgic kind of moments with Nolan are Renato and that's about all you can really do in this situation. But for the Cardinals, I mean As soon as this broke. They already had him in a jersey and they've got it up there, and he's still in the national league like this is this is this just be like the Broncos right after Super Bowl 50. Trading von Miller to the Chiefs for 5/7 round draft picks and paying them $50 million to eat the contract. He's not quite assistants kind of pretty much the same thing. Training of the Patriots. Okay, Fair enough. There you go. Hey, von Miller is now traded to the Patriots in the right right after the super, like, you know, we're trade via the Patriots for 5/7 round draft picks and Bill, can we? Can we cut you a check for 50 mil, too? Stuff really tough, And I think we're gonna get to the Broncos. We have so much to get to tonight with you guys and I We appreciate your tuning in. We're gonna get to the Matt Stafford stuff. The Broncos role. In that we have some information that I don't think is really out there. So we're gonna get to that here in a matter of moments, but I think the final thing I want to say on this we'll have a chance to react with tomorrow is the understanding that the other shoe that's about to drop his Trevor story's not coming back. Why would Trevor story signed an extension here? I have no understanding or idea whatsoever off. What would make him want to do something like that. After watching what happened with too low and now Ah, Renato, it doesn't make any sense. So he is a free agent after this year, the Rockies might very well trade him by the trade deadline if they can't come to an agreement. Or the team is playing with any kind of motivation at that point, which, by the way the Rockies historically by July, August, it's It's pretty much done most of time. If I'm Trevor story, and you know it really comes down to do I want to win. And if I want to win, then you like some out If it's about money. Um here's what the my agent says. Market value is beat that by 25%. I'll stick around. Yeah. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. We knew this would come. We thought this was probably they're gonna be the case and the fact that it's real that it's happening right now. Throw off. No, no question about it again. The press conference tomorrow morning at 10 A.m. with Dick Monfort, the owner and the GM. Jeff Bride, Ege. I imagine Kaylie news radio will have some coverage of that. So make sure you keep it locked right here. All right, Benjamin. Let's get to some of the news That happened over the weekend and the next hour we'll get to our senior bowl. Recap and then chance to really talk a lot of senior bowl because as we're on Your Friday night knowing our new it not own news broke and we didn't really get a chance to get into it. So let's go ahead and talk a little bit about what happened. So Matt Stafford traded to the L. A Rams. To future first round picks because the Rams don't know the first round pick this year to future first round picks a third round pick from this year and Jared Goff now this deal came together. There were several suitors will get to the Broncos role in this in just a second. But there were several suitors Tell me about the deal..

"This'll. Is the soundtrack of your afternoon. Just having fun And we working. Maybe that's it, man. Just Alfred Williams and Joe Joe Turnbow aerials. No. Get him Jake. Big Al and Joe Joe I'm K away news radio. Our number three Mike Rice and Michael Coover. We call him Cupid because he's cool in for big Alan Jo Jo. One hour to go. Michael Brown. It's six Bronco buffs prime time at seven and then Broncos country tonight with Ryan Edwards. Benjamin Albright. I think they're all back from their vacations. I'm not exactly sure, but they will be in from eight until 11. As we wind our way through the third hour. It will be Ryan Edwards and Benjamin. All right tonight. Well, then, I guess I'm gonna have to listen again. I love that show. By the way, we're gonna talk to Cody Ruark. Yeah, locked on Broncos podcast and leave is the name of it? Well, we're going to talk a little more Broncos here because we alluded to it. Earlier in the show. And if if you want to chime in the lines are open three or 3713 85 85. And that is the situation with Houston Texans quarterback to Shawn Watson. Now there are rumblings out of Houston that the organization in the higher ups there, they don't have a GM right now. They don't have a head coach right now. But there's some Definite. Um, rumblings that Watson is not pleased with The way things went down in the coaching change situation and I don't know. There's some talk that Watson has played his final game and taking his final snap is quarterback of the Houston Texans. So because this is what we do, and we have to At least two on this for a bit. Kouf, the question becomes, should George Payton, the Broncos new GM and the Broncos as a whole? Make a run at the Shawn Watson should he become available? What's interesting is if you and this is a good that would be the question that was going to ask BK before he ran out of time is George Payton and Rick Spielman up in Minnesota. They obviously had different ways to go after a quarterback and they tried them all. They looked at obviously drafting one. Tamara's Jackson was one of their selection. Christian Ponder Christian ponder another one. Both of those. I think you could say we're failed experiments, Mrs. Yes. Oh, Both first round picks, and they failed on both of them. Then they also went to the free agent signing around Kirk Cousins. Be an example of that, you know, did that work out? Maybe maybe not. Also had Teddy Bridgewater is another first round pick. But you could say Had he not gotten hurts that might have been a hit. For them, but obviously he got hurt, And obviously that didn't work out so well for them in the end, But I think you could see Teddy Bridgewater's talent is currently a quarterback in the NFL. With Carolina Panthers back to back to back to the other routes, free agency Kirk Cousins being one. I think that's I think that's not a miss. It's not a huge hit. I think it was. It was a good move at the time that they made. Yep. And and and I guess the jury's still out on a little bit. I mean, they spent what 90 some million dollars. I think $30 million a little over $30 million per season with him, and they've had some good Kirk cousins and they've had some bad. I mean, obviously, they did not make the playoffs this year, and I think when you spend that amount of money to bring in a free agent quarterback, I think you expect to make the playoffs every single season and it just hasn't worked out in that way. He? Obviously, that organization had a run in with Stefan digs, And there's a lot of people out there that believe that Josh Allen the reason why he's his good as he is this year is because Stefan Diggs has played so well. I mean, you look at the weapons around Kirk cousins that year he had Stefan digs. He had Adam Phelan. He had Dalvin Cook now granted. Dalvin Cook blew out his knee that year. But still those are three just terrific weapons, and they had a good tight in and Kyle Rudolph..

Fangio's patience with Lock pays off in big win for Broncos

"Heavy victory monday broncos country. It's always happy when it's victory monday. The broncos taking care of business against the miami dolphins yesterday was just what the doctor ordered. Twenty two thirteen was called a complete team win by so many people starting with vic fangio and then working through the organization all of the players calling a team win. We'll hear from vic fangio here coming up whilst from a happy and relieved drew lock but the broncos dominate on defense six sacks the interception for justin simmons late in the game to seal the win ryan fitzpatrick in and relief at two of who had been knocked out and it was a bunch of people getting in on the act in terms of taxes. John williams with me read. It was bradley job. It was draymond jones. It was demarcus walker. They were all they were all in the mix so it was good to see a complete team effort yesterday. Special teams really. Good they neutralized yukimi grant the stud returner for miami and it kind of relations. You what you thought this team could be. I guess maybe reminds. Isn't the right word but indicate shows you what this team can be when everything comes together. I know that can be a big. If but coming off the effort against the raiders to come back home a team that six and three that had won five in a row to buy low playing great as a rookie and to completely baffle him. Stifle their offense. Just thirteen points are lone touchdown coming early on a really nice catch by devante parker but just a great great effort. And you're on the ground for one hundred eighty nine yards you. Get eighty four for melvin gordon. Plus two scores. Yes the fumbles. Concerning phillip lindsay make plays eighty two yards on sixteen carries. Actually were tied both at fifteen carries for eighty four yards until lindsey was dropped for a two yard loss late in the game and and that ended up being the the difference after the interception

"Broncos country Tonite Ryan Edwards Benjamin allbright gonna head out from online and bring on very autumn who is of course with the university of Arkansas right now but he was the former head coach of Missouri talk a little about your lock talk about Albert Kuwait nam good evening coach how are you I'm good guys hope you guys know well and thanks for thanks for having me on I I heard you pronounce Albers last names you've been working on that job I have been practicing good price the last thing I would do is screw that up in front of you I'd like to get it down I I'm I'm excited to be a little bit about both those guys and you know the the times that I had with them the experiences will remember forever in the special special guys that had a chance to watch develop and and so proud of them they have tremendous chemistry when they they play together there are missed Missouri and what what was it about the the way they were able to work together that made it work so well I think both of them practice at high level and the things that over there out the week of preparation you sell so up on game day and they had the ability to communicate and and a lot of different ways and there were some you know hand communication signals that they had the group could give Alberta different nod or a look and then this they they always bet and that it started from early on and in their careers and band mates the chances of them ending up playing in the same organization I go there so slam but I know they're gonna have great success together really hoping for that here yeah my my first exposure to drew lock in person that was at the senior bowl it's such a high wattage personality you know getting the U. T. interview every day got me psyched about wonderstruck on sabbatical play for it and it was easy always been that way or is it something he matured into a long the way yeah I know and there was such a great competitor and in high school you know tremendous basketball player had the opportunity to go and play college basketball if you really wanted wanted to do that and this really in every area that he had the chance to compete he was always successful news driven competent and then you've got put in action is true freshman year had some struggles early on but you could always sees arm talent and then when the pain started to slow down for him it really took off and as as a team we went as he did and it was a great leader competitive guy in the locker room was was really someone that everyone respected because he prepared so well and any also help guys to a standard on the way they need to be so or am I was able to go out the last game of the year last year with my family and watch him play against the raiders and spent time with mom and dad before the game and chat with him during the game and then got to visit with her afterwards and I was so happy to see the way that he played like the year that another teacher right there did you know he could wrap so well yeah I I'd probably most of those so comes back pretty pretty naturally I tell you what though we were talking to his personality and and the guys in the locker room love it I mean that that's the thing is it was one of those things when you're he was on a I. R. for the first part of the season and sometimes you do you think what we just really set him back and I know the coaching staff wanted to kind of ease him in a little bit and we saw that it a bit reflected in some of his numbers but even then it was kind of felt like a time that they can only do so much to hold him back and I I you know I don't know what all goes into that at that level but I know that you know it's always going to prepare like he's the starter and he did that from you know the first time that I ever met him he was competing to be the starting quarterback and he was going to make sure whenever his number was called that he was able to go produce at the level we needed to so he's got an infectious personality and it doesn't surprise me that is so well liked and respected in the locker room there the Broncos have really made an effort this offseason to build that often surround him starting with bringing in a seasoned office according to guy's been around the league a long time to Pat Shurmur and and and Mike Shula as well and it put a young offense together around him that maybe he can connect with how soon do you see something like that Jelling in your experience of coaching you know it alls different pieces you bring it one time obvious is a pro level not college game but how soon do you see something like that jailing well I think because of the the folks that that now that the type of person that jury as the leader is that he has and then the supporting cast that he's got around and they're going to go to work and I know and I'm this knowing truth he's going to have such a high level of standard of the expectation of what it's going to look like and how they're going to go perform there they're going to be and my in my opinion and I don't want to you know put anything under pressure but I think they're going to be really good early on because they've been tremendous talent and and then now put that together they're they're all hungry competitors you understand that and know that and Andrew's gonna lead on and I'm excited to watch the progress trying with coach bury Oldham here about a couple of players east coach drew lock in Albert oak away when I'm let's talk about our for a minute here and listen to it you obviously you're going to get people's attention when you're upset throw us a sub for five at the combine and that that definitely got people interested did you know he was going to be that that fast at the combine I thought that he would perform really well would you got the tremendous just athletic skills that are you never know exactly what it's going to read at the combine the time by you know I I would be lying if I said I thought he would run for four I thought it would be in the four five ranger really did nobody had the opportunity to do that but I didn't know how big how heavy he was going to be you know the week leading up to that so am I surprised a little bit of a shock no not at all Mr tremendous athlete now when we recruited Albert went watching placing your basketball and I mean it was two hundred channel the current twelve pounds when he stepped on campus and the work that he put a hand to continue develop the skills that and to move the way they did and the thing that that I think Albert continue to to progress each game every year he got the a little bit better and route running was something that that he worked on so hard in a tight ends coach name AGF populate who played in the NFL for number of years it was a tight end and I think that helped Albert in a number of ways continue the to move his craft board so to speak and you know he's going to play ball I am in my opinion a long long time you just got is that such natural skills and he also is is a great competitor some I'm excited to see how that they used him early on and that's the I. continues to develop to move into the role that they are asking to be on there's been a shift of course with tight ends over the last several years maybe even the last fifteen to twenty years of getting these tight ends that are over athletic and match up problems but then you get to the pro level sometimes especially with young tight ends in the coaches still of the mindset they want to have these guys become really proficient blockers so I'm not I'm not saying that he can't be that but you just mentioned his route running you mention how special he is and we know what the speed is that it is there a certain point where you say listen I know what this guy is really good at and that's why I want to utilize some of the most well I don't you know everybody coaches a little bit differently but coaching is teaching and finding out what your players do best and put them in the right spots bill to do that but also working on things that make them the best well rounded player that they can be and Albert improved you know from from his going into his last year you I would say he improved more on in line blocking at the troops had imposition that he did anything else and he knew that he needed to work on that and the in all areas he's the old guys he's still a really young football player and he's even play that maybe college games I mean he's got all the best for him in my opinion is is yet to come what culture I am looking forward to seeing what you can do to my my beleaguered Razorbacks it's it's been painful here last couple years I'm excited to have you on staff there but I want to go back a little bit further you were on staff at Memphis and Paxton which was the quarterback there as well I guess my question to you is what is the difference between Paxton Lynch and drew lock for Broncos fans who have it was set to both well I think I've got you know passion was so good for us at Memphis and such a great kid and and man of the special arm talent I I don't know really what all went and you know that the time that he had that Denver so probably wouldn't be real there are made again but a comparison on the two yeah I know the end Andrews a special arm talent as well I think drew understood in in the way that we played you know he had three different coordinators in three years and and really continued to adapt and and play into the system that we played no packs in that I don't know what the the pluses and minuses were for him when he got to Denver but you know he was a guy you know that the first year I was at Memphis we won four games and then we are a little bit better the next year but we won three and but we have made so many improvements and Justin point they did such a great job leading that program and then year three one ten and at the end of the year nobody really probably one of the players and a lot of that was because the way Paxson was planned and so you know I was your honor to be a part of of what action did for us at Memphis and and you know was a little surprised that it didn't work out a little bit better there but but who knows you know and and you know it hasn't worked out for guys different careers in the past that they take so I wish him the best and you know comparing my I I probably should stay away from that one so it's probably a very safe move I have I I should one more question here what's kind of interesting here about drew lock in and people to take a look at that five game sample size in it it almost seems like that the kind of control whatever conclusion they want some people look at and say Hey look you would foreign one there was the game against the Texans he had some proficient plays against the lions in any course one division game against the raiders and against the Chargers so look at the positive news so people look at that and say it's not enough I don't really know what to assess their with drew lock so I guess what I I'd love to know from you is at what point do you know a quarterback or what you have in a quarterback with a strong locker anybody five game sample size seems like enough to at least give that guy another opportunity and have some optimism but some people feel like they can't quite go there well I think your is this getting started in a look at the things that he was able to do in that in that sample size you know just talking to him he spoke about the game starting to slow down for him and I think.

"Tonite Ryan Edwards Benjamin allbright really really fun interview there with head coach Dave Clawson from Wake Forest find it in just a little bit at Broncos country to life dot com we're going to have spare bedroom for predominately orange a little bit later on this hour in the next hour Ian Sinclair will join his continue to vote our poll question at K. we Colorado on Twitter which four game stretch is the most difficult in the Broncos twenty twenty schedule will get into that debate coming up here in just a little bit all the text line appreciate this regressive former coaches or great hype man yeah well that that is true I I think we kind of go into this knowing that that's going to be the case like you kind of know that whether you're bringing on a position coach or head coach you kind of know that they're gonna save mostly positive things about these players but there still things you can take away from that they're still stories maybe that they drop in there they can give you a little bit of a perspective and that's that's what it's all about for me is just perspective on a guy we could bring in a beat writer but I think the head coach is a little bit more fun yeah I we we know going to the interview the head coach he's going to be biased toward his diet but at the same time they're able to provide context that we're not going to get anywhere else you know a class it is going to be able to sit there and specify things about his players that you were not going to get anywhere else and well you understand that the lens that he's presenting that through is I'm proud of these kids that I coached up it's going to be you know overwhelmingly positive it also does help round out the picture if we only got beat writers we only got coaches that would be a bad thing board we're not here to to to be a hype machine we try to give you three hundred sixty five degree picture that's not an actual thing but you know what I should give you the the full we're trying to give you the full picture here and that's you know I I I feel like we do a good job of that I feel like bringing in the coaches for context is great if you're getting beat writers teammates is great yeah you know they they I think he liked it that gives you a a fool or a fuller picture of who and what the player is we've done both really we've got food we've with Alabama and Penn state we brought in beat writers without let's hear we're gonna do Wake Forest we got to Fresno state's we had another coach on just recently I'm space in the moment but we we've obviously kinda tried to run the full gamut so yes I'm I'm a hundred with you I think you can get a little perspective and I don't know if you bring in a Wake Forest beat writer would give us anything different on the players the Broncos brought it I I feel like I. head coach Dave Clawson gave us quite a bit there again three oh three seven one three eighty five eighty five your phone number five six six nine zero is the tax line okay so before we get back into football did you see the stuff on the NBA today about what they're thinking about doing what they're gonna try to do Adam silver was I did a conference call with the players and with I don't know I don't result players I don't know everybody but I I saw whilst we got about this and then I'm reading the the article here during the break did you know they're they're even potentially expecting not to have fans next year not really sure about that just yet yeah I've seen I've seen a little bit of that that's that is a possibility for this this upcoming seasons which me by next year no two seasons of no fans this the remainder of this season and next season they're preparing for both remainder of this season the remainder of this season yes they're trying to figure out a way to play right now and they're expecting to do something either in Orlando in law or Las Vegas so they're basically going to semi quarantine these players and they want to finish out the season with the playoff they want to do what they wanted the playoffs the at the yeah from what I understand the N. B. is not gonna get this you're done now they may be trying that but that that was not what that's what okay not literally what they said today yeah that was not my understanding when I talked to a while just more connected and I am so bloody I was gonna say when an outbreak in BA right now I I talked somebody covers the NBA and they were saying that you know that that felt like a pipe dream as far as the season goes there's probably just gonna end it leave it there and and and try to start things fresh because the NBA season isn't that far away it starts you know it in the fall well no that's what they're talking about now and that should do this this part I did know for a little bit there talking about starting in December right which by the way might be an opportunity for the NBA to kind of lab that because a lot of people have said for a while the deal actually like a later start in the NBA season start December in sometime during the summer which should be great honesty for sports fans it be fantastic because you have NBA players I'd love to see NHL do same thing but you'd have playoff basketball playoff hockey potentially in the summertime basically walking you up to the NFL season ended in the midst of all that you have baseball so baseball's playing the regular season you have playoff basketball playoff hockey I actually love it so I I think it gives them an opportunity at the end of starting the season because they already know that then they are you know they're they're past the point of starting on time for the NBA season right so so that the idea right now is okay no matter what we do with this season we're gonna be angling for a December start for the twenty twenty twenty twenty one season that that is already thing but right now they're trying to salvage what they can of this season they're trying to find a way to get a play off it and they might have to forgo part of whatever was remaining of the regular season because they are kind of like stalled there with the I don't know fifteen or so games remaining so I got the four goal potentially quite a bit of the regular season they're talking about play in games which we kind of fascinating to see if they did a little mini tournament to get into the playoffs the post season I I think a lot of conversations had been tape I don't know if you can necessarily go let's restart this thing every team has like fifteen games or so remaining and they will play that up to a seven game playoff with several rounds because they don't want to forego that part they're already losing all the money with the concessions thirty losing all the money to ticket sales they don't want to forgo all of it they're trying to find a way to do something now it gets the same thing with the NHL like you you're going to have to do this thing understanding that you can't completely quarantine everybody you can't tell everybody they can't be around their families they can't I mean there's just so many logistical issues it all comes back down to tests because there's really no there's gonna be no way there's of vaccine there's gonna be maybe some mitigating things like what you can do there certain I don't know things to put out there on the market that can help curb the it really comes out a test email to test and get get near instantaneous results on the day of the game you know as far as that goes and and here's the problem with that if you take the test that those players had to sit there and not be around their teammates until that test comes back because you walk in the locker room and also your test because I probably just infected everybody in there so there has to be strict protocols in place if you're going to do that I just I can't see a way which the NBA salvages the remainder of that season I understand that there was talk about the money you don't have insurance policies in place that right you know insurance policy in case season to get canceled you know you know that right well that that's not a does this article doesn't mean they get all the money back but they get some of it back so there are policies in place that to help with these kinds of things now you know in the end I made you wanna make Max mama you can that's their business that's what they're trying to do I think the people obviously want entertainment back businesses like ours depend on not just the content from the sport but also the the ad revenue from people that want to pay attention to those kinds of things so there are you know they're the the it's a down trace in terms of how how this affects people but I can't see a scenario which the NBA I like if it's just me we just chalk that one up like this there's no personal point at this point just just chalk it up be done with it have a draft and and worry about next season all the text line here from Chris if they finish the season at Disney that be less travel and that's one one they're talking about down in Orlando they're thinking about going to Disney general Lando which basically has everything they could possibly need there in that bubble they could they could play all the games there they could do you know whatever however many games per day and just space them out listen I I I these are always interesting conversations right even in the round the NFL this is going to come then eventually there's still several months out for the NFL so we haven't really had a lot of this kind of conversation but it seems it's a weird thing to say listen we we know that health and safety is the most important thing and all of it and all the things that are happening out the tens of thousands of people dying and that is the same time saying but there are businesses so so I look at this like that I look at this is like any other business it's a multi billion dollar business but it's like any other business that's just trying to find a way to survive any other business that's trying to find a way to get back out in conduct business so look we we go round and round about whether or not there at all the safety protocols on sept in the end there's a certain amount of risk that everybody that is involved in this is going to ultimately have to accept the same thing we talked about we heard from cream Jackson saying a one hundred percent no hundred percent that we are safe well you're not gonna know a hundred percent it's even less and it's even less percentage with the NBA.

"Ryan Edwards Benjamin allbright I would pay large sums of money to see you dance to the song buster the side right now large Laurie Adams of my I cut my finger which could obviously affect your dancing cutting strawberries for the kids so I can't right now you see a bandage and everything's gonna Scooby doo bandaid there yeah I can't I can't do it can I know what my little pony no one can see you now yeah I'd I I I I know you people can tell but I can't write and they're scared to it I'm not exactly says rises sure this phone as soon as I start moving well I learned my lesson last time I tried this on camera in the Broncos studio if you don't have that what's what's for cameras looking at you be a little more smart but it was like the more I get lost in the Mona sure dancing studio and then yeah I got captured I still said I also got captured dancing in the studio I still maintain though that there were some digital editing that really wasn't me like my goodness I'm exact on somebody else C. GI yeah if C. GI my wife has a much better chance of not be I couldn't possibly be rerouted ported the other dinosaur animator from Jurassic Park just to get right that yeah you know that he's got a couple man yeah he's crafty like that well done while we're gonna Mike right here just a moment scram Glasco later on this hour job roles in the next hour we'll hear that sound bite from Phillip Lindsay as well in the meantime all the attacks line here five six six nine zero man I'm going for the drinking game drinking we can watch Top Gun yells showed his love you A. Angie this from Scott okay I just got out there to there now she does a fantastic job if you're trying to save money I think you're O. line coaches leads then draft someone next year and have them coached up well as president California that's that's kind of the way that they do this kind of thing is they look like a we can you know we get later picks along this offense of line in and have our hall of fame coach coach about yep the not so that's kind of what they went into the sea the year thinking I've got a couple couple things I want to get into a little later on there was a there's a really interesting quote from John Elway that I I'd missed in the rich Eisen interview we talked about the decision to go with Jerry Judy allowed them to get KGB handler because most teams didn't expect them to go wide receiver in their opinion they were targeting cagey hammer the whole time now that could be true that could be not necessarily they were targeting speed yeah wide receiver that one was generator was gone and that was the next name on the board yeah so the one of the first rows was they got to the second round they're like we want cagey hammer in their minds said about it was we're going to get in because nobody thinks will go wide receivers all these teams that are right behind us they're just assuming cagey hammer will drop in our laps well they're not gonna expect that they don't feel like they need to trade up in front of us because they have no idea what we're gonna be doing here right so we will get back in that here in just a little bit we head out to the highlight and bring on Micromax good to have you on the program again Mike thanks so much for the time tonight how are you pretty good how are you guys were doing great so so let's let's talk a little about your Judy it's funny we had John right before the draft to talk about the possibilities seem like John Elway was finally going to snap his streak of not drafting Alabama players so you know it felt appropriate time to talk about all these Alabama players will now the Broncos have their first Alabama player with John Elway is GM it is jury duty real surprise the slip that for the drafter you think that's about right where he went yeah I wasn't too surprised I think if he had ran a faster forty time I think that would help this case I don't think he ran nearly as fast at the combine as you wanted to or you know you expected to given what his trainers were telling him down in Dallas at the combine so look AT it run a little bit faster thank you what about the top and that does that to people around the league told me what it wanted some stories back in February on that but he did it and so you're looking at a guy who doesn't really have that overwhelming treat that Henry Ruggs had we all know about rogue speed and and what he did at the combine it probably would be what I've done at the the protest as well for Alabama and then when you have that trait that's when you tend to slide up the border a little bit so you know at the end of the day it was Jerry Judy the number two or three receiver behind Henry Ruggs you know for a lot of teams you know maybe not but it only took one team in the raiders to pounce on roads early I'm a little bit earlier than I would've expected and consequently that the probably push Judy a couple more spots down the board so wasn't terribly surprised that I think the bigger surprise for me it's just that that Rhodes was the first receiver off the board was that that was a surprise to you I mean I've talked to people you know familiar with the program down there they they went on to suggest that that these two might be the number two and three receivers that were playing their last year that that Smith might be the best of the bunch but what you will was actually surprised you that rose would had a duty yeah I I do think that to to to me I was expecting rugs you'll mourn later teens early twenties and all people were expecting no twenty one with the eagles were so are pretty popular spot for heaven at the end of the day I I I think you're you need to stay for pac we look at more all round receiver I think there are questions about Henry Ruggs and what he can do beyond the speed aspect but with that said I mean both are very good receivers and I think they deserve to go in the first round of thank when you get into you know a couple spots here and there might be taking a little bit in terms of who's one who's two story that CD whatever the conversation to but yeah you're totally right but the first point as far as you know what what might be the case of Alabama rot they Smith might be the best guy to come out of that entire bunch maybe not the fastest guy in the world with the biggest guy in the world but he was the most productive receiver last year I mean he from start to finish I think he had the best year of any of those three you decided to come back for one more year and you'll have to see where he goes next year but in five six seven years now we're talk about who had the best start their own info careers might be due out this month for six we got some questions about devante Smith N. Nagy Harris as the kind of relating to if there's some reason there's no college football season would they consider going into the supplemental draft when you think about that I hadn't heard that possibility I know people I talked about to a potentially skipping regular draft up a letter drafted so trying to do some research on you know the specific rules because there's a lot of different circumstances that players can go to the supplemental draft and I did Jonathan thought hasn't crossed my mind a little thought has crossed my mind that Gee I wonder if they regret the decision to come back because I I do think that they want this mess what have been packed somewhere in the first second round I think we've heard draft analysts but even that range and not totally sure what he's going to prove you you know even with another great season I think it's still the same player and he's still a very good prospects so not totally sure enemy Najee Harris probably more understandable that you know it is a pretty good running back class coming out even then you know it's one more year of wear and tear and we don't know the story and smell that running backs in the past as well as they are damaged goods but a lot of mileage coming out of that program and you know it's tough to have a long NFL career after you had a long career at Alabama so not totally sure as much on analogies that why he he made that decision but you know I I do think it if there is no college football season that they're gonna figure out something I don't know if there's going to be any clarity though within the next couple months in so far as they might be able the center supplemental draft in July thanks yes I've seen a couple of different options I guess floated how likely do you think that college football is to be played on time this year and then the second option I've heard was that they you know maybe the NFL's gonna play fall football in college football get Bob back to the spring I'll likely do you see either of those scenarios yeah I see that more likely as a as a board of you know three four weeks ago I I do think there's band momentum on the the governmental level three upper St the come back we seem a lot down to some of the country of Georgia and they came back pretty early in other states to kind of fall two albums actually that one of the slower states that they come back to normal around these parts and even today only a certain businesses are out open when I think people are expecting a lot more so with that said I I do think we're we're kind of beginning that the train to start moving a little bit we've heard from Greg thank you little bit the commissioner of the FCC about how they still have plans I mean there next thing on our schedules is media days in July that that's still happening in the rest of the season they're planning for the president of Alabama said of the university of Alabama said this week that you know there are plenty of having students back on campus circle I don't have the football season people keep using that word plan obviously there's grass to be contingency plans Americans but at the end of the day thanks they do have the the element of time on their side where you know is it no fans in the stands as a partial fans in the stands well see but I do think that at least a game will be played on the field at some point delayed or not the start of the season you know it's tough to tell but I would be surprised if there's no football season whatsoever Mike last couple questions here for you really appreciate the time this evening so there was a report out right before the draft about some kind of needs thing for jury duty you know we we ask Gerry about it and he said that you know that was from twenty eighteen is nothing that's even bothering you can watch for yourself so I I'd love to get your comments on what what you know about his knee injury and then the other the other side of this is my goodness I mean the the list of wide receivers that have come out of Alabama in recent years I think some people think of eventually that that it's going to stop or you're you're not gonna be able to continue to have elite players there where does Jerry Judy stack up among some of the best wide receivers to come out of Alabama in recent years so those two questions are great yeah no problem I I think on any part of it I mean I I never heard of it knew of any of any of it the last season now like you said it was twenty eighteen was one to report tied it to impact she was covering the the bills at the time so not totally sure you know what was happening back then but it as far as me covering them last season there's there's nothing that would suggest you was harder playing hurt and even exceeding came out I think last week or before the draft and said you know it's never something that really hampered eminent having covered the NFL for for ninety years until one of players play through a lot of things and everybody in the team as some sort of injury by the end of the year to compete at the Miss timer you know it's a great experience so I don't really think that's a big deal I think is his agent in this case is also she was aged came out said you know it's probably a team later in the first round of trying to get you push down the border a bit and that's how things work before the draft but as far as where he stacks up you know same disclaimer I guess that you know I have a first hand cover guys Amari Cooper Julio Jones or calc Ridley but I'll put Judy probably paid below you know those first two I don't think he is a mark Cooper I don't think he is Julio Jones those guys are in a rare talents like I said Judy does a lot of.

"So so explain to me what a virtual TA or virtual mini campus each player is working out individually or what yeah I was so so a lot of this is having to do is just kind of communication that the the team's going to have with their players there's going to be online meetings you know zoom meeting kind of stuff they're gonna be able to to talk to the players kind of go through the playbook that they might have some virtual workout type stuff maybe Lauren Landau will lead some workouts I mean in the end they they have to keep social distance right and they kind of have to do this from either their own house or from places where they're not to be around people and and the Broncos are like every other NFL team are taking this very seriously but there's a lot of guys that get workout bonuses they get off season training bonuses just for showing up so the Broncos like every other NFL team that wanted the night these guys that opportunity plus again if you lose all offseason communication with your players you're gonna be really really far behind so that the team like every NFL team is is kind of proceeding with okay this is the best we can do we can pass out the playbooks we can get the information these guys the coaches can talk to the players and the kind of proceed from there Ryan Edwards co host of Broncos country tonight is our guest

don't know let me know all pulled up here to to get this but but it's kind of an interesting exercise right to go through and say okay tell me who your your you know your better bet your best pics here worst picks safest picks and pulls up here I was actually just a little later on the show but since you are brought up all right right and we're of course can also use John away safest pick riskiest pick best pick in worst pick of the first round Hey I mean of course you can just say you know right chase young is my safest pick seems pretty no writer but you can also get more creative that Benjamin yeah you're sitting here with these glasses on look at all fashionable trying to impress stand G. and M. three right in there a man maybe even dental shall I don't know I don't know why you're doing the glasses today but you know it's fine I felt like if they feel like a glasses that but in this case I don't I I think that you can just be you no one wants wants me to be me I mean I do you are you'll be exploring space like that tell me I really think what let's let's put it like this the version of you that doesn't have your ego filled the room where nobody else can even breeze if there's a version like that that's the one I want one of people want to see if I can see if I can call that bin and see if you can conceiving Childress the show sounds like when like inter Mason used as voices all the stuff right that's an inside joke I think if you hear that on the outside you're like interfaces voices you'd probably think some weird things right he's very safe place Germany's he's he's a good dude it sounds weird when you say that I know that's available I can get worse by saying like that's like leaving an inside joke well over here don't overshare all right three three seven one three eighty five eighty five phone number five six six nine zero the tax I if you want to get all your talk about your questions about the draft we're here for you we're obviously covers the wall the wall walls have been given all brides wonder back rankings as we going over in Albright's big board this entire time we've cornerbacks today safety's tomorrow all walking up to the mock draft the one and only mock draft the Benjamin allbright puts out top ten of the world no big deal top six in the world it was a it was a tie yes there was a tie for sixth whose how do you been standing there is somebody else very very much right in the front of your Peter Schrager somebody else well if you look at her I can't think hi I just I can't think of the name that you're that you're definitely definitely try to get me to say that I'm not going to say is it be grinds my gears every time I see that I thought about photoshopping him out of that picture yeah you have a problem with Jason lock in for a big problem and the fact that he beat you on that buy one pick it's David right only one David you're a first year a Broncos country tonight thanks for calling David how are you all right very good thanks Ryan have been great to have you back what rate you're that you're healthy and safe and the rear to go for an exciting guy draft weekend and I'm just about to ask the questions are based on a couple rumors Sir because I came into contact with today number one Albert Breer wrote in this column this morning yeah he thinks that Garoppolo is done in Denver and the Broncos up my job you should be shopping during the draft and number two near Rappaport pressure on television today and I have all that work yeah if the Broncos do stay put at fifteen our our name they keep an eye on is Kenneth Murray I got from Oklahoma I honestly hope that you're not very active and I would absolutely be angry if that happened just for the record but I was just wondering what you were hearing on those fronts and whether a shopping master it or you don't take their children all right thank you very much for the call Persian well let's start with the first part of it now I don't think that they're done with their polls in fact are not applicable state they may shot him to see what they get but they'll get him what were we talking about here but I guess six three yeah but that one is your final year of his contract as a cost controlled option and he played well down the stretch last it well enough down the stretch last year if you want to try it out for one more years who's got I think you put that out there saluting Garrett's mind he realizes a he's got a long way to go would be if you do try to extend him afterwards that you're already setting up the conversational narrative for the dollar amount to be lower than you know that would be so you know we were prepared to move on from you before I mean you know we were willing to offer you three years of this number in that kind of thing it's those games get played a lot of guys that are in the going into a contract you get air quotes shopped a lot even though they're not really being shopped in an effort to undermine contract negotiation well it's just kinda like large Wilkinson now all of a sudden it's gonna be competing with terrible there you go so it's just I mean it's there's all kinds of ways that they frame that we guys are going to con I'm just tell you right now if you were the locked in starter we would have to have competition there why would it make sense to shop here bulls at this point anyway you're not gonna get a return your your what do you think you pure pigeon holing yourself to have to pick at tackle it that no if you do it and that's exactly that's a great point on the other side of that it's not like you you say outright will lodge Wilkinson's perfect fit over there on the left side yeah maybe he would work out of there you don't really know just yet but you absolutely would have to make left tackle a priority in this draft so at least give yourself a hedge of Elijah Wilkinson doesn't work out right so so that's that that the part again and I'll tell you guys this is slipping guys in a little insider information that this is how contract negotiation works you know the year before players set to cash in big he's coming off the rookie deals is gonna get the veteran deal now ET torpedo that with will you know look around see in our shop in the state we always yeah we were we're gonna move on from you last year you played okay this you know it's it's all there it's all fun and games I don't think that it does make any sense to me to trade Garoppolo this point if you're looking to improve on him then you just improve on it yeah I I remember taught who was it was it was a Rockies baseball player I think we're talking about going to arbitration in any kind of contract negotiation and they said she said something to the effect and again I forget who it was the.

"As Broncos country tonight with Ryan Edwards and Benjamin allbright Aung ko a our program for tonight Ryan Edwards Benjamin allbright let's head out to the hot line to check in with former Bronco currents at least right now Tampa Bay viper and that is Yonfrez mount joining the program Dodgers thanks so much for giving us some time this evening how are you man David thanks for having me does I'm doing great tonight yeah you know this is it what what what is interesting time we live in man because of the Tampa Bay vipers you're in kind of in the middle of the season the first in the inaugural season of the XFL man what what was your reaction when you heard that the the rest of this season was cancelled well first my first reaction was you know obviously I was really surprised you know well we practiced the whole week thinking that we we had a game on Saturday and I was just at home are you know our Houston and got the news on her own social media before Marco to even respectively there was just no surprise Graham yeah it seemed like it took a lot of people are a little bit by surprise and and how quickly a lot of these leagues started cancelling stuff I thought the XFL was a lot of fun I I had I had enjoyed watching you guys and you guys in in Tampa it look like you got off to a slow start but started put it all together it did look like it was look like is a fun thing but you know situations being what they are trying to take a guess the the public health concerns and keep everybody safe yeah definitely yeah definitely it was a lot of farm road runner were you guys preparing for the possibility you might play in front of stadiums without fans you know there are deal came across after we heard the news with Seattle and we're we're like man that sucks for them you know at least we don't have to deal with that it it it just kind of happened that you know they're choosing to cover everything so this I guess it was little surprise of all now we we were having this conversation about the impact it has on football I mean I like I I try to imagine because we there is a couple years ago when there is there was the Orioles game where we watch the baseball without a crowd in that that was kind of weird it's it's kinda eerie I can't even imagine can you even imagine a football game without a crowd like like home field advantage what what home field advantage right all right and then I could imagine like are really good friends in the end everything does look better in the cell so yeah I can imagine them we can tell we got word today that the XFL notified you guys after you did your your physicals you are free to sign with with NFL teams is that correct information yeah that's correct that's correct okay so you guys are all your physicals or today yeah that because withdrawal were today around noon I think legalized base we just met with the team coach and they they talk to us about what they've forced Salzburg feature for the team and everything like that well it was pretty it was it was a pretty quick meeting but it's also going to what they have to say I mean what is that what the league and I guess you talk to coach Trestman what it what they had to say about the future league and and you guys well costar because he knew he was heartbroken he he he really wanted to you know what we didn't indices as we wanted it to rebuild everyone had a lot of the ball to the left to be played you know we still wanted to prove ourselves or you know the nation of our fans that you know we're we're we're a better team than a one at fourteen we love lot of football we felt all all all all understood it you know there's never go so long because he basically just talked about you know our identity and you know how hard it was and how he really felt for us you know especially for a lot of the guys are trying to get back into the NFL so the other is what what are some but because you've now been in both leagues the NFL in the XFL what water what are the similarities in your opinion into these they I mean the the game is the game but as well as how as far as the how the league is run and what you guys think the XFL could ultimately be could the XFL rival the NFL I know what I don't really see it as reliable me I've also like L. "As Broncos country tonight with Ryan Edwards and Benjamin allbright ang ko a the program Broncos country Tonite Ryan Edwards Benjamin allbright let's head out to the hot line to check in with former Bronco currents at least right now Tampa Bay viper and that is Yonfrez mount joining the program Dodgers thanks so much for giving us some time this evening how are you man David thanks for having me guys I'm doing great tonight yeah you know this is it what what what is interesting time we live in man because of the Tampa Bay vipers you're in kind of in the middle of the season the first in the inaugural season of the XFL man what what was your reaction when you heard that to the rest of this season was cancelled well first my first reaction was you know obviously I was really surprised you know we practiced the whole week thinking that we we had a game on Saturday and I was just at home are you know our Houston and got the news on her own social media before Marco G. even we start today it was just surprised Graham yeah it seemed like it took a lot of people are a little bit by surprise and and how quickly a lot of these league started cancelling stuff yeah I I thought the XFL was a lot of fun I I had I'd enjoy watching you guys and you guys in in Tampa it look like you got off to a slow start but started put it all together it did look like it was look like is a fun thing but you know situations being what they are trying to take a guess the the public health concerns and keep everybody safe yeah definitely different it was it was a lot of farm road runner were you guys preparing for the possibility you might play in front of stadiums without fans you know done audio came across after we heard the news with Seattle and we're we're like man that sucks for them you know at least we don't have to deal with that it it it just kind of happened that you know they're choosing to cover everything so this I guess it was little surprise of all now we we were having this conversation about the impact it has on football I mean I like I I try to imagine because we there is a couple years ago when there is there was the Orioles game where we watch the baseball without a crowd in that that was kind of weird it's it's kinda eerie I can't even imagine can you even imagine a football game without a crowd like like home field advantage what what home field advantage right all right and then I could imagine like are really good it's the same and then the and everything about managing the spell so yeah I could imagine them we got to we got word today that the XFL notified you guys after you did your your physicals you are free to sign with with NFL teams is that correct information yeah that's correct that's correct okay so you guys are all your physicals were today yeah that because words are words today around noon I think legalized base we just met with the team coach and they they talk to us about what they've forced solve the future for the team and everything like that well it was pretty it was it was a pretty quick meeting but it's also going to what they had to say I mean what is that what the league and I guess you talk to coach Trestman what it what they had to say about the future league and and you guys well costar because he knew he was heartbroken he he he really wanted to you know what we didn't in this era as we wanted to we do everyone had a lot of people want to be left to be played you know we still wanted to prove ourselves or you know the nation about fans that you know we're we're we're a better team than a one at fourteen we love lot of football we felt on all all all you know there's never go so because he basically just talked about you know our identity and you know how hard it was and how he really felt or a you know especially for a lot of the guys are trying to get back into the NFL so the other is what what are some but because you've now been in both leagues the NFL the XFL what water what are the similarities in your opinion into these they I mean the the game is the game but as well as how as far as the how the league is run and what you guys think the XFL could ultimately be could the XFL rival the NFL I know what I don't know so you see it as widely I'm assuming you'll be richly too if you live in the same body I mean but as the film for me the only difference I really felt you know the the speed of the game is a it completely I mean it was just it was a whole lot faster you know was wild let us see the breaks and things like that and obviously the rule changes and you know it was a double passes you cut out to be a look out for but the the also the biggest difference I had to leave that's just the speed of it all you know you just got more tired during the game there was less it wasn't is dragged out of the NFL game what will be a lot of great stories coming last year out of the now defunct a alpha guys that like the body body Mike Purcell both came here to the Denver Broncos get to start a few games what's next for the entrees mount well you know I've been sort of my agent my PR team and why no they said the United soccer is our go out look at me so well I guess we're gonna get on the phone with them and see see how things are looking for OJ because you know what with all the corona virus we don't know if jays will be careful in the cell so you're going to be a look at our own or was there some other places you know just continue to work out in our work my my company started so yeah what did you were talking with John for his mount here and you course played with the Broncos there what what do you remember about your time here in Denver man I'm just family I mean the man well when I was there you know DJ was the head coach and and he just stood there and all of the family and stands which is already look their farming the player with the Broncos there's no other fanbase like it I don't really think it's going to be any other family that welcome back you know and I really love playing for the Broncos in yeah you know of this no nothing bad to say about it there's a but a hell of an experience you know well the I've been remiss you just mentioned you could put some time in your company once you tell us a little bit about that yes our own production company originally started two years ago and basically what we create and manage and market videos for businesses and brands and yeah I mean is it just me ugh like I said I started two years ago and is just now you know finally taken off here in Tampa took a little bit you know and that that that's kind of what I've been doing it all season while playing for the Broncos well ordered yeah okay as far as the light at the end of the total so that's such a big thing right I mean I've I've I've talked to so many players and I think sometimes when you're a younger player you just don't ever really see the end in sight like you don't know what you don't have to think about what's next after the game but you it sounds like you I mean you had this interest for a long time you understand that Hey I wanna played football as long as they possibly can but I have other interests definitely ma'am like I was like I said like if it is kind of hard to put a retrospective right you know at the end of last week you know somebody dies you know I know I was you know okay forty three thousand dollars every two weeks you know it's kind of hard to even think about it after that you don't think the money's going to you don't really know pay like you you're here here at all but you don't really put in perspective I hate this I'm not gonna be able to do that this amount of money for just about a client also I I give me people are already getting my salary cut have we put that in there in a minute my window like Hey this this is you know could be potentially over so you need to kind of have a plan here well yeah that that's that's really great so Hey John phrase all we really appreciate you go to some time tonight again and I'm so sorry that things ended this way at this point for you in the inaugural XFL season hopefully get a shot to be in the NFL this year but I mean it sounds to me like the XFL might survive beyond this year so it looks like if you want to keep playing football there is that Avenue very quickly here the do you do you love that fact I mean you mentioned it I mean right now you're kind of on the outside looking in for NFL the XFL does give that opportunity these guys doesn't it at W. W. Norton and if I if I had to go back and do it again I know for a fact even if I did end up well I know I would try in it but try to go back to that well even after that either there was just a completely different experimental game the plan were absolutely insane and plus a lot of drinking beer after the game hello I have a frosty cold for us we really appreciate you joining us tonight Hey man I appreciate you guys all right great catching up with the entrees mount former Broncos linebacker will take a quick break we'll come back and react that Chubb our here with updates on the hour it's gateway newsradio J. "Broncos country tonight with Ryan Edwards said Benjamin Albright on KO a what it was been already get back into yeah it is one eight one Wednesdays and put you back into our conversation about what that Kathleen bell Tucker but we had out of eyeliner bring a good friend the program for the draft network Trevor sicula Tampa Bay tray on Twitter one of trade how are you man Hey you guys that you're always gonna be it yet yeah man how you enjoy your new digs here to night near Charlotte here in Charlotte North Carolina I got a date they were wonderful city although the weather basically changes with each hour of the day so it's been a little bit get you still here yeah I was just wondering how for your love for Gerald McCoy was going to go that you're following stock to stop but I guess we just see where this thing is going yeah I get that ball into the end of the year right I mean that's basically the path that I'm on at this point though is I know you have created both have to be regarded neck that'll probably tell your I'm in and out yeah when you're when you're behind the eyes yeah yeah you'll just you'll you'll move there and then of course will become a charger and then you know I I guess you'll have to move to LA not a bad place to live so I would have said that's what I that's what I'm saying Hey so where were we were talking quite a bit about see you I'm I'm sure you obviously saw the news well what Mel Tucker ended up doing you left see you after one year went to Michigan state but it did make me think about asking you on live discussion all because we got some news on him today of course you deal with a groin injury where do you come down on love this guy a I I see some guys idols even some guys on your website I think a bit of a soul I chasm up pretty high and yet there's other people that kind of don't necessarily even have been the first round would come down to this guy yeah I don't know what will this you should all incredible count right and I don't necessarily want to stay here this same type of impact it's a past my homes Halle because obviously a quarterback vision impaired compared to a wide receiver but in the sense of what Patrick my homes was with a unique talent that he is yeah I remember it impassable homes goes to maybe a different franchise story might not be merely what it is today at the Superbowl champion but instead he gets dropped about again eighteen it's a great stay with Danny reed they are very open minded to the creativity of how to get the most out of his talent and therefore he is as successful as we hoped he would be that's a lot of what we're discussion all this right is the guy who played wide receiver played in the outside Platonists lot lately compartment turn even place and that's the right back heck even some wildcat quarterback duties right this is the guy who they used in a variety of different ways and your love that because you know if he's athletic enough and natural enough on the football field to do a lot of different responsibility what with that being said with all of those positions at his disposal you know there are some coaches that might get take advantage of what he's able to do more than others and so I really like with this guy I think you can incredible talent and I think I really hope that his growing like you were saying there is your by the time you to combine the good luck to HIM blow it up I can give athletic reconnected you can really show out you really entertaining player to watch combine weekend but in terms of what conventicle future will be a lot of that's going to depend on it because though he can do a lot of things well some kind NFL coaches get overwhelmed with that versatility when it's not a streamline but the right coaches will know exactly what to do with them I hope that's where you land that be a great place for because in this wide receiver class he's a top five impact dot without a doubt I love this time of year we can talk about other men's growing since not weird at all that's why we never weird free yeah I I always love that it at the draft no work it's always going to be then you know and thank your loss you know you know there's there's never an off season for talking rides as as someone could say around town I think you know with this kit yeah I I hope that he does wind up the creative team I hope he does is find some a team there use him as a chess piece because that's that's kind of what he is let me ask you this in keeping with the wide receivers it do you think that there's more value to taking a Henry rugs hypothetically if fifteen or is it more value to maybe waiting to the second round of taking a regular with you with your second round pick there do you think that getting one of those top three receivers with that fifteenth Baker are waiting in a quote unquote deep class is the way to go now with regard to eat the little interesting because I think the public perception connect as Rieger as okay this is the guy I might be able to get in the sack route but we saw what happened with John walked a couple years ago right John Ross had the bad injury history he had been questionable tape when it came to dealing the contact you'll be more than just the speed player then you ran that for two two any growth number eight overall right I think we're gonna see that same kind of a fact which the owner you're not saying that readers John rock they need to make you come off like that if you get a more complete receiver but in terms of say the question that you're asking like hate be worth it to you you're the first round pick on a guy like any rugs when you might be able to get the same kind of be in the second round I don't think a guy like readers gonna be there I really don't if anything you're maybe hoping for a KGB handler you know you're hoping for a guy who's explosive in that area who might be able to give you that so that's the name that might fit the second round a little more for it he'd like Denver but in terms of blogs men in certain it sounds so cliche Dave you can't teach that be but a better sentence around that might be it yeah each really watch Henry rug is as a prospect because I've been trying to tell people the whole time this is not just this be polite you know he is the guy who can't catch through contact can be used as it in wide receiver verses were you get him the ball even in the back right he's a guy who's not afraid to contact and never really heard Julie's durable he likes to be physical he's got the strength along with world class beat instill great team like Denver or looking to pick up a wide receiver to really compliment we'll cordon son does what dates on Hamilton is does this well Hey rose would really really hate that so it's tough to you unless one of the big four off and get tackled he'll be here Tom in the Kristen worse than the tie back in the Kendrick will get one of those guys the Billboard fifteen I think you're really think about it maybe even pull the trigger but if not man it can be tough to pass the guy like rugs if he is still there yeah and we we've talked quite a bit about that especially for the Broncos there fifteen because he absolutely could be but of course also comes back to a conversation about relative depth in this draft wide receivers considered maybe the the deepest it's been obviously in in many many years but definitely the deepest in this class when you have a deep plus a wide receiver does behoove you to take those guys early or can you wait as a result of you know the depth so the draft is all about a game right I mean you're just trying to play the game of the draft really well you want to call the way with the bass player your team well at high impact they can we don't want to over draft the body right and you don't want to take a position before you can't but there's also watch a stand in the way of picking the guys that you know we're just going to impact your team the most and the more that I do that the more that man that grapheme tell you real good in theory but any trying you wait whether it's one pick four thirty pics down the line there is unpredictability everywhere every single team could come up in trade for any pick at any point in time you just never know what the run is going to be I mean what there's even a reality were hate what ten rug is even available right like what your UT goes early and rugs go the twelve to the Oakland Raiders and all the sudden you go all wow we didn't even think we'd be here where we could on the guy let alone him not being here and also even though I love the game of the draft I love the thought of eight look at the class is understand where they're deep it in which wide receiver like you guys that very much even that air you can get an impact a a a player and really I think any of the top one hundred pets when you've got a guide you know can we really really help out your team it's hard to pass on and especially with an impact player like what they could possibly get it it in itself even though I love that game of the draft you're really playing Russian roulette any kind you you go okay we'll pick our this guy thirty text later it's always just a big rage today men always great stuff Trevor thanks so much for the time again check out the draft network their mock draft machine if you're on Twitter you basically see about a hundred times a day it's that much fun Trevor we can't wait to run and see out that the combine again and thank you so much for time and yeah you guys did indeed take care bye take care Tampa Bay tray on Twitter great insight it's funny on the moment like I was about to claim victory at the very end is like but if you have a guy you go ahead and get that kind of like a because this guy I'll majestically spread across my face yeah it mine went to frown by the way here's the other part of this the the doesn't mention we talk with the death the wide receiver this class so so very deep class for officer tackle and corner readers positions will come back talking more about that as brokers country tonight and came away when your time is seven thirty our top story many are criticizing Mel Tucker for the way he which he abruptly left the head coaching job is to you just hours.

"Ryan Edwards and Benjamin Albright on K. a Broncos country tonight let's bring along the laundry Weingarten and Dustin Smith who are mad ratings adjusters and group good stuff this was tape by the way this was with the guys out at the senior bowl so gonna sound like there's a lot of people all of a sudden the room here Andre tell us about what man does out senior bowl at the senior bowl we are basically scanning everybody like everybody else here but we're looking for quirks and other things on top of the standard player performance the intangibles that we can get from meeting with people and talking with scouts and people like you guys who have that inside scoop you know we looked and there was the the bell running back without a he's left handed because he took it all back to the coaches and that's information that we need to care about also seeing level if it's in the game it's in the game right absolutely Courtney Davis Brochet both have really good arms Courtney through it from the numbers to the other side of the numbers on a punt return or some like that early on I mean you know things like that where the action stuff yeah throw power goes up in that situation so and they are really care a lot about what they do even though it's not part of the position I've talked to players before that yeah that could care about that kind of stuff you know it's not even in there you know if you be you'll have a quarterback not gonna throw power it's better than thirty you know I can that's it you know I usually quarterback in high school in a yeah it's it's always fun to see now a lot of the scouts here looking for things that where absolutely come for something else because with a lot of us were just looking for how it translates into our ratings and I was speaking with some of the cats are like yeah I'm not gonna write never scanner report what a cornerback you know how he pursues the ball carrier like where we got to put a number on every single player in that regard whether corner safety linebacker center yeah it is one of the things like this you guys change the rating system up a little bit people also started complaining about those lower numbers but I was trying to get across on Twitter she got to try to make them played more like they play you know rather than they they just deciding an arbitrary number so that you know that I'm not arbitrary you get the idea that you want to make somebody who's really good feel that much better right next the next up down right yeah there is a there's a post someone put out about the number of ninety overall player so we had our game from was like two thousand what two thousand eight through two thousand thirteen or two thousand four two thousand four three two thousand eight and there was just a grouping of times when there's like two hundred plus players on a ninety sixteen tuner sixteen right now we have sixty eight players above ninety almost nice almost almost but that was the idea we want to reduce that number down to the point where I have tears you know each other's plea elite verse yes you know it is a previous games you could say either over games were you know I I didn't really want to Harry Douglas to play the same way as who jobs yourself yeah exactly and and they're funny guys who did that I mean some of those older games are very fun because you could just pick up anybody and and ball out with them but at the same time there was no identity because everyone played in such a similar way that what we really want to get away from that so by stretching the ratings by doing all that with each individual rating and overall I think we we did a better job with the overall rate to the overall ratings even matter because it makes you the overall number that's what they go with and that's what I was trying to be you know we start there's a granular stuff there well you okay it's just not they shouldn't be like the gospel of like this is what everything is right because it's it's the simplest way to think about it is all that is just there for is to try and give you the idea of within that position how good that player should probably be playing for you now how the computer's going to use them and how you're going to be able to to execute with them may vary I I know it's there to kind of try and give you a ballpark of what kind of player that maybe from from a franchise perspective overall means a lot to the way that our game runs right it it does provide a good representation for people who are not football junkies right because you you're gonna put a player in a position that they're going to either exceed or under perform their overall at any given point in our game over the years if you have a speed survey of John Ross you can play a lot better than what is seventy eight overall rating is because he just gonna be able to run everybody right in my money legal dominate with right now so yeah well if you're going okay now I know why your let's talk about your yeah it's always a vanity project with this do you know like Hey how how can I tell you how great I am at mad Alisa startlingly mediocre your somebody else your so vain you probably think this game is about you he kind of does not his own label that may or may not create myself in the game that may or may not happen fair enough but so I mean it it does matter right and to the casual player it does have some sort of impact to them because when you draft someone with a high overall it feels really good and if you dress some of the lower overall it doesn't feel as good and that's kind of the the driving factor in the computer use that the computers a lot when it comes to contract negotiations and they're drafting and their team building and do they have team needs or not and do we think that you have teammates or not and we scaled down to match our ratings stretch as well so you know it be team great might be now seventy seven instead of it being an eighty two so what's the biggest misconception complaint you guys come across like a with a complaint about what's what's the biggest misconception.

"Away money sports Ryan Edwards Broncos last game of the year what do you think we're going to see what you're hoping to see I'm open to see when as Vic Fangio aptly pointed only cares about but I think your seizure law continue to play well progressing absolutely and whether that that will mean he's the star next year we don't know yet but here's what your locks my set is heading the off season I think I saw of stuff to prove going into this week but I think I've done a good job of to this point especially you know if because the guys around me the way their plan the way everyone's been you know helping me along the way my goal was to prove to them and in the end that's going to be their ultimate decision at the end of this year but I put my best foot forward and I feel like it was definitely good enough nine so far like he's three in one as a starter in as the coach told us earlier today winds matter so yeah with a win on Sunday the Broncos will avoid a double digit loss season and they also would have a winning record at home right now for three wiki dream on Jones was named A. "Broncos country tonight with Ryan Edwards in Benjamin Albright speaking of the Broncos John Elway the resident football operations and GM of the Broncos joins us every week talking about the previous game in the game coming up this week John it's Dave reckon Kathy good morning how you doing I'm doing great how you doing we're we're we're dancing every day it's congratulations on your age battle thank thank you appreciate it very well done thank you kids kids play great let me ask about now that you you had a chance to go back and look at it what what did you think of juror lock in in our people not that you care our people in your mind going too much overboard with sort of their enthusiasm on how he played like I guess I would be somewhat guilty of that because I thought he was like lights out against the Texans that that he played great you know and I think that obviously it's okay to be excited about it because I think you know he's played really very very well as first to start his handle hat and limbs of great and you know obviously he's you know a young guy with two starts and but it you know we couldn't be happier with the way he's come out of the gate and not know that there's going to be still up in the ups and downs are going to Kansas city against the defense is going to see a lot more looks any say in the first two weeks but you know what we're excited about where he is and and but you know and plus it's nice to go on a road get a get a real good win against a very good football team in the in the Houston Texans John Dave and I were were wondering if there's ever been a rookie quarterback in his second start of his career put up numbers like that you know watching the game you you knew he was having a really good game but was until afterwards that we learned he was having a historically good game for a rookie quarterback I can't imagine you expected anything like that in a second start or did you well I you know I look like it's hard to say what you expect I think that that you know you're you're hopeful that you goes on response way that he made that he did in Houston and I think that you know as I said we could be happier with it when you look at the results and against a team and they do a place it's hard to play against the division leading to football team so I think everything has gone very very well it did up to this point diamond you know you got to continue to work and and get better and I think that you know obviously what this does is set the standard is set a high standard and it and that's what he's done so far but you know we've got to continue to to work around them and and get better as an offense as a whole and and you know that give him the best opportunity to be successful as well as us you certainly have to continue to improve as a team and specifically offense avoid but but.

"His Broncos country tonight with Ryan Edwards and Benjamin Albright on K. K. a country tonight lined up words Benjamin all right now I know why you played prince here on our eighties night we actually brought on our next guest to talk about Carson Wentz in the eagles take on the patriots I I don't know how prince has any bearing on that match up but reef assigned from the athletic joining us right now also president of the Carson Wentz fan club you guys wanna get those membership fees in comes with a full fat head to have reef blowing a kiss to a shirtless Carson Wentz what's up man how are you I'm good and get a little bit worse than ever all those things but I don't think it now what would you we we were just discussing this and and my my Costa Benjamin as well as after they haven't heard the Minnesota Vikings steam to prince song what did you think of that when it came out I would all right on it I wouldn't put it up there when you've made a lot of really good stuff and now it's fine but it is it better or worse than Scott steps Marlon song better yeah I guess that's okay that's what that's what I was trying to just explain it I was like it's way better than that but I don't know if we need to play it kind of thing yeah that's I think that's fair three four thank you so much well first what do you think Carson Wentz got nine just could we don't really care about Hey listen two and a half point favorites reversal Vikings Eddie feel about that well aid a I don't think via the Vikings will cover but you know I I think it's an accurate reflection of the fact that you know the two teams and bear your spots right now yeah yeah look at this you know it is a feeling here at least for me and probably not for most fans the Broncos are team with an upward trajectory but they're they're not really what you call a contender at this point that the Vikings a team actually because the Superbowl it may be a little generous there it doesn't feel like this game going to be a blow out though it is does it didn't have that feeling going into this feels like one of those throwback feel position type games that that's it's going to wind up hit me under being closer than it should although maybe never in doubt wire to wire yeah William that's going to be very similar to the Vikings game against the raiders of the Vikings were in control of the entire match up in the final score definitely reflect kind of how far apart in quality the two teams were but you know in the end you know the Vikings clearly demonstrated that they were the better team I think something somewhere is going to happen here is not to be a high scoring game I kind of agree with you there you might even hit that under an editor at pretty generated forty point so it's local pick the under there but he might do that and if it does that I really difficult to cover the spread at the same time out of dealings been basically missing from a line of the last few games I know we came in there for the Kansas city game for a bit but had to leave early but in the meantime only one loss during that stretch how how has Minnesota accounted for him being off the field it helps that they've got a couple of other players at the other skill positions obviously Devin cook having a really high quality even if you think running backs can win the MVP certainly in that conversation and then you know they've got that rookie tight and Smith who's been kind of filling out a little bit they need to you know figure out what else he can do because you they've been cutting cooperating in India and kind of slowly they wanted her to mention and he's you know twenty years old but you know he's very talented men of course they've seen kind of a revival of sorts from the contract on a little bit from the rookie BC Johnson none of that sounds very ideal in it it's all been very make work they finally talk how real get pretty actively involved in the offense last week but it's just not something I would consistently rely on going forward so the hope of course is that of doing good healthy you know obviously you got to be healthy for this game they're gonna buy we coming after that and then kind of going forward after that I think will expect to see him kind of the line up yeah my my fantasy team could use Adam Feelin back hash tag more than a feeling I I really need I had to squeeze that would in there I'm sure he's never seen that name ever never yeah it's it's probably not popular all of their Minnesota I bought was activated the activated wide receivers off the injured reserve Broncos activating Tim Patrick is gonna be the wide receiver to Vikings activating Josh docks and worse Josh docks and go to fit it in that minister offense yes I really think he I don't know if they would activate him they're just gonna make him an active on game day right so I I do think that they do plan on getting involved I just don't know how much is not really a special teams guy in so I would expect him to kind of compete level on quite well for stamps you'd still be behind the Johnson in terms of the snap count at least in my estimation I don't really you know I know these things for for but you know I I think that because quite well and doctor can can play fairly similar roles it's gonna be kind of a direct competition first maps between the two and it affected put willow's been serviceable in the past couple of weeks makes it a little bit more interesting that were not otherwise following the Chicago game the sixteen to six lost Kirk cousins has been playing kind of on another planet at least as compared to what was those first four games what do you what what what do we believe is the reason for that we've played a lot of bad defenses to my eyes I think that's a great that yeah and that and that helped a lot in the in the thing would cause them does that against bad defenses you statistically he outperforms only quarterback clean Patrick homes for breeze look at them against you know lead defenses last year or a bad defense as last year and and and cousins numbers against the same defenses or even better against average defenses he does pretty well he does about average again and again a unique it's really good defenses he does about as bad as some of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL and so it's very sensitive to kind of the situation around him I he has overcome that a little bit I thought the Detroit defense was kinda good going and they put a forty two points in large part because of what cousins was able to do in so you know it's not like a one to one thing but there is a lot there that'll tell you that you know you might just be you know the quality the defense that he's up against the my kind of dictate some of this and and I think that would be kind of a war you going in the Broncos game if you can do it again if you can perform against the Broncos you know maybe we can put those fears to rest but I mean that's been through you know for what while he was in Minnesota is true for a little bit in Washington as well and so it's kind of an open book you've been able to you know work off of play action because you know defenses that are pretty poor don't really have a lot of responses to that he's been able to trust his pre snap reach you consider pretty poor kinda reveal what they're doing in so defenses with a lot of the skies of the ability to pressure you off of play action and take that away you know those will present a lot of challenges to how is a Minnesota dealing with the injury specifically in the secondary amine out here in Denver we're no stranger that recall the second or the quilt because it's patchwork it's not exactly a blanket but it gets you covered how is house Minnesota doing in that second there with those injuries well they do have actually a lot of debt you know they they just activated old hill are not activated but he's off of suspension and so you know he's he's not really high quality corner that your reviews kind of attracted was because of the same reason he was suspended that there is a fear that he would just not be available the NFL and then you know my cues first round pick in if you didn't really have a great game thank you crossed and just generally speaking and and and simmers had a lot of first round quarterbacks over his tenure you know through Minnesota Cincinnati Dallas Atlanta and this is maybe the most but he's never late on a rocky core at least last year when he was a rookie in so you really high and my cues on the candy out there it's kind of turned around and so it got a stable of cornerback that they trust I think a lot more than you'd expect going all the way down to the fifth or sixth cornerback I and and that's been reasonable now the starting quarterbacks are performing well that well you can't really say you know whatever's happening is working but you know as they've had a lot of injuries that they've been cycling through they've been kind of confident about the players have been able to put in and at least you know not lose too much last question for your reef preaching popping all about thirty seconds left what would be considered success this year for the Vikings I know last year was a disappointment the expectations are high what's disappointment what success for the expectations of this team right now I don't think it's enough to make the playoffs I think I have to win I think they have to win in the playoffs improved that you know that what we saw in twenty seventeen with case Keenum you know with something that the team could find going forward and improve upon you know with Kirk cousins in India that's been kind of the whole point of this entire endeavor is to take that defense put a put a top level quarterback compare with that offense and make sure that they can actually quite first of all run so that's gonna be the marker for success we gotta go patriots on the way out go patriots it's so much to do this yes always great to catch up with the man thanks for the time thanks for having me all right recess on from the athletic one of my favorites he's the best welcome back to react to that great question coming on the tax line from Chris on dreadlocks timetable get that as well Broncos country tonight and came away news time is seven thirty our top story at least a half dozen people affiliated with the twenty sixteen tryout presidential campaign "What country tonight with Ryan Edwards and Benjamin Albright on K. a. Andrew Mason with us on Thursdays Thursdays with mace from BSN Denver at maze Denver we should give them a follow you probably already or because if you're a Broncos country member of Broncos country and you listen to the show informations on speed dial for you on Twitter we're all watching this incredible spot gate plea out here incredibly incompetent the hope within comp they give the first down yeah I didn't somebody's go back a review that that was that was incredible hometown hometown shenanigans air flight is two feet which was the difference yeah and now I was going to the first time it if Carolina wings because of this. what three catches we can't see I know you get I mean is it thirty down the regulatory catch the ball he never gets the ball around right so he's still a foot short of yellow light at least it's probably about a foot and a half sure that you're allowed so they probably would have gotten a fourth down anyway fourth in shorts was there in fort still. I think what so the officials are confer confer with Bruce Arians during time out any put the red flag away because it was too many SO minutes a good jobs with the. gave it to which is absolutely asinine if you look at the replay I'm looking as the bells a little my my buddy there at pro football focus at PFF underscore Steve you can see just how gregis the the shenanigans were on that one by the way if the bucs lose this game that would run James win since a road game losing streak out to thirteen straight games all high against a quarterback on the other side I mean obviously he's facing the Panthers and their defense but cam Newton does not appear to know where the ball is going I think I thinking if we just for something his work looks like a mess right he's throwing off the the back heel a dish does try to shot put the ball out there it's usually he's broken candles looked broken at this point what's on what's our other option we're we're not of us are big will Greer Geisel Kyle how much better than will Greer yeah yeah I I think that's the direction they go they they saw as Google's managed to get that come back down push office and I think that in it's a direction I would go Alan actually started again mastered any yes a look very good now was the season finale walls playing for absolutely nothing right they had most of their guys I pulled the rest of them but they. since the failing pushed off what are they wow a face mask wow from Adam Shania because all yeah yeah yeah get a finger and that is the softest facemask of ever since the grease to the yeah well let's finish you're watching this we want what what's going on with your Mason he's just yours to assume the worst after many years following the Tampa Bay Buccaneers going back to nineteen eighty seven. even though they won a Super Bowl you assume failure you assume the banana peel lurks around every corner. I assume the cream sickle Jersey lurks around every corner well actually I just I just bought a new box at by the way do you know how you know how is doing the old school shark too thin paintbrush hats yeah I bought the box they have a pre sale would rush had with the old cream sick on that route yeah the and it was the last one the older was one remaining I bought it the old account of money crystal logo yes. you know I have to say in defense of buckle Bruce as we all call him down in Tampa Bay. either of you dad gum tough to be winking while you're biting on a dagger. okay. I mean you move your tongue wrong you've got blood streaming out of your mouth you're going to the hospital you're just what the box had basically every game that they wore that Jersey. all while he's not wrong another break down. all for this the only franchise the could make Steve young lookalikes. Charlie Chaplin. Steve young. go back to the Niners. one of the challenging now. if you want something knows because you can't you don't challenge the where the NB a portion of the game now were there the last two minutes come down who can file the most effectively. yeah this.

"Good for tonight's Ryan Edwards member all right Dave Logan recluse back with us tomorrow practice resuming tomorrow for the Broncos as they had an off day get a chance to sort of take stock reset a little bit guys get old chance for a maybe even a mental reset and their Benjamin it you know it is so valuable to have that you go back go back as far as you go back when you first started playing football you know you get that you get the new year playing football it was first couple practices with a new coach and you know sometimes you can you can develop that quicksand mentality you know you you tried so hard to press the new coach you make a mistake well they see it you know they see it's you tried over correct pendulum swings back the other way it makes it worse if you mess up the you know the opposite way sometimes good to have the mental reset day you know so that was good to sit back and take a breath and be like you know what okay let me go out and do me a get back to what makes me me and we'll get this thing on the right track we'll set up a hotline and bring on a number two for the Denver Broncos Trinity Bentsen joining us here on the program turned a year on the Rhine adwords Benjamin Albright how are you Sir I'm off on are you we're doing great man how how is this day off for you how's the reset gone I'm going great so far you know I got an early got a little recovery list in and now I'm just kicking **** given that the likely winner of the mother so what do you do to kick back and relax well right now they got us up in a hotel so I'm just you know in the hotel one of them up plays right now get ready for tomorrow's practice so in a binge watching any saying the video game something like that man non I got to find out which one you wrote these knows how to play Madden so you guys can catch the smoke real quick now there's a few god will not do with the review that is that all the talk about the plan and then we'll let you know after a let you guys in a little secret don't play Justin Simmons hill hostile you so I'm just going to tell you guys right now okay at all all wonder why you give at please try to is try to get some of that sweet rookie money so I'll just I'll tell you right now watch out he was he's got to stick skills so how you are you're just in the life in the NFL do you like the nickname the fans are giving you the Benson burner with that of my birds are here now and I get out of the rock with it for now yeah I don't mind one of the things I really liked about your progress through the first five days of training camp Trinity it it feels like you're just getting better like to be honest I mean you look in even when yesterday with with the offense there were others drops the wrist and probably some things that you guys want to clean up a little bit I feel like you had a stand out day do you feel that way as well you're just getting better yeah you know that that's what I'm trying to do going into every practice I'll try to get better every day it is what it better if he does looks like a good been taken that in the mind and it's been working out for me looks like the kinda had you out there on is some return stuff as well do you do you enjoy the return aspect yeah I like the I like to return to that in college then a little bit on high school too so I feel pretty comfortable back there they tell me the dog with open arms Farley colossal are closed the free agency process but I mean in this case you're going to have to show the ability to be prolific in the offense to the fact is I mean with the league where it is our right now trying to the I mean they need this team almost all team needs speed you can't really fake that can you no non Armenia this divide the saying goes many cat K. course be absolutely I we saw kill funny Muhammad run in the the forty yards of gold if they do another forty yard dash competition you think you've got it what it takes to stack up a lot of you've been asking me that with their own I don't know that I don't know the petition never back down from a challenge so in a larger dog paternity to all definitely run trying to Bentsen joining us here on cable news radio Ryan adwords Benjamin Albright Broncos country tonight how have you felt chemistry wise with the quarterbacks so far there's there's four guys and sometimes it's a little bit of a change up with each guy they throw the ball a little bit different the way they maybe call plays me how you felt that the chemistry going so far with those four quarterbacks personally I feel like I've been building a good relationship with each and everyone of them could not begin reps with the one the two is a three so I dislike slowly but surely on building that that chemistry with each and everyone of them what's the difference between them in your opinion the difference I made not a big difference I mean so in the huddle he he says the play a little faster so you really have to be locked in and focused but I'll double it pretty much to finally they can also with the ball in the world if you don't like stuff like that and they say we play good they can tell you which have if you don't know is that adjustment to catching a ball from somebody that that throws it as hard as Durlach and Joe Flacco yeah the beginning it was you know there were communicate at the the the July and they really care about that thank you and then don't have to get used to go to at the beginning the mothers that from him what what corner is your favorite to go up against right now who's giving you the most challenging Canseco to talk trash about a quarter they're listening yeah it is like to be like yeah well I really liked he's a real he's got to learn these other guys are set them up with these questions talking trash about as you get in trouble because then it's a question good luck with own Trinity not allowed to go against all of them and that's morning thing they all have different students a week like this so I went to go get all level what about camp so far has been may be a surprise or something that you didn't expect Oman soprano how many how many plates we get in there you know we didn't run up there were other like eighty eighty five plays a day of practice will not allow you to that come from a small school you know we'll probably get like sixty at the most maybe I was just on tonight if we had to get used to how do you feel like that better prepares you I mean did is there because that that's something that we noticed too that the at the amount of plays of it feels like you guys take all of that and then you should go you go back into the building afterwards and you sort of break it all down in the coaches talk about it there isn't as much of in the moments I take it you know Hey let's stop practicing all talk about what just happened there seems like it could be more of it happens almost after the fact is that kind of what we we hear and understand is spot on man a lot of people don't know you know from the outside looking in that like our daily lives mostly meeting you know where we eat breakfast at seven and we did not there about nine thirty and most of its meetings part is only like two and a half three hours at the most motor damages in the classroom learning what's the biggest thing the fans should know about Tracy Benson the person moved out so the biggest thing that they should know about me is I mean I'm a bring it every day I like that a Trinity it's been a lot of fun watching you you obviously been one of the standout players a we've talked a lot about here on the the Broncos a radio network K. way newsradio so thank you very much for giving us some time tonight and I look forward to seeing which do the rest the camp and now fully into the season no problem I appreciate you guys aren't thank you trendy Benson a joining us they're a good stuff and and yeah I mean yesterday when it came to the offense well I think there's a lot of coverage about this the struggles in the office of side of the ball but it wasn't all that in training the had a couple of plays even before they huddle up and then once they broke huddle and got back on the field he he may couple spectacular plays one of one of the catch is the day from Brett ripping on touchdown things but twenty seven yards twenty seven yard touchdown yeah there's been some guys have been vocal about they're making the most of every rep to to get out there and turn these wells guys keep it really is every time you see him out to the ball thrown his way the guy's going to bring it in is making the catch it's like a one man cold fraternity Benson he's the only one catch it is the only one coming down with did you just come up with that also the replaces critics will relent a flag football like a one man colder little flick I want to move in a while and Jones yeah Joe the admiral in Franklin and what I say you said our lender clever Franklin's the character name Jones is the character is the actor sorry yeah that will be wasn't as quotable for me I don't know why I am license I mean there's a couple things I know that the was it now the not the prom queen because that's actually from the rock which by the way is a line Aaron Sorkin who did a re uncredited re write on the rock yeah I plugged into that movie yeah I by river like like winners once the ball right down in the ball yeah yeah miles a hard you know I I I like okay a couple of things it's kind of it's alright I have an autograph was as bad as Top Gun but it was it was alright telling me killing me I have an autographed Shane Falco Kiana Reeves signed it Shane Falco Falco Jersey from that replica Jersey from that movie speed of Cano is watching the matrix this afternoon why I don't know if how to select it was one of those like rare moments I was like I I don't really I'm I'm all prepped for the like there you go I know I know what I it wasn't even like the originally was yelling revolutions or something like that I wasn't even like the good one what good will in the sequels the good no I said it wasn't a good one I said it wasn't the the good ones the original but a very you're watching with the sea I was watching one of the sequel okay yeah I guess I really thought I had to walk off the shelf yeah I don't know that the G. the original one okay was the best one and then yeah it obviously delta listen there some devolve disagree it's a great way to describe it all right so it's good that was pretty Benson and we kind of went on a random tangent treatments and word of Austin for coming up in a little less than an hour at six thirty five Royce Freeman is gonna join is at the top there so we got a lot of reaction of course free to bring you some thoughts about the team here in a day off after five days will win a fun conversation with Dave Rick about what kind of that they got.
