And the offensive line play and I'm going through the schedule trying to see Who the redemption teams are Miami. No. Seattle Fun matchup. Russ going up against camp, but that's not redemption. Las Vegas They elected to go Marcus Mariota. You know, they weren't bringing in Cam because they want to see cards. You well. It's not the homes and the Chiefs. That will be a fun game, though Cam going up against Patrick Mahomes in Arrowhead Broncos. You can have a little personal motivation. They liked to go. The young quarterback Inger lock, I guess that's a possibility. San Francisco No. Bills. No jets. No Ravens. No, but you get Cam and Lamar Jackson. Buffer camp personally, Those redemption teams the teams that he thought maybe he could have gone in there and start. It should have been given an opportunity. I guess it would be the Chargers. Maybe the Broncos and maybe the Raiders. I'm excited for camp. Every time I keep on hearing him talk I could tell that he's a hungry dog and what a Jason Kelsey say when he goes on the Super Bowl. Hungry dogs run faster, and we'll see how fast and how far Cam could run this year and healthy. He could stay in the 2020 season if we do get.

Alex Halberstadt: "Young Heroes of the Soviet Union: A Memoir and a Reckoning"

"In the course of my reading. I found a recently published book by a writer who frequently appears in The New Yorker New York magazine in many of the glossies. He's a wonderful writer. His name is Alex. how number stat? He was born in the Soviet Union when it was the Soviet Union and he's written. A cross between memoir and history called Young Heroes of the Soviet Union. Since I, am myself of Russian descent and I know some little about what it was like to grow. Walk in the Soviet Union. I found the book. Fascinating. When learned. In its first stone ten pages. Than Alex Humber stance grandfather was one of Stalin's personal bodyguards. That he in this book would travel to the Soviet Union. To meet this previously, UNMET! This grandfather once combed his hair and gave him a bath. How old were you? Then I was three months old Michael. and. You had barely spent time with your biological father because he stayed in the Soviet Union while you and your mother and your mother's parents came to America. Yes, that's right, Michael? How old were you then? I was nine years old. And where did you lands? How did it go? Well we left Moscow in the fall of nineteen, seventy nine, and after about six months Austria in Italy. We ended up in Queens County New York. In addition to all the other things. I have in common with the writer of the spoke Alex. Halberstadt I grew up in Queens to not the same part of Queens and you grew up in the projects. Yes, I did I grew up in the ravens, wood houses, which were part of New York City public housing. Your family was helped to America by an agency. Whose what would you call it? Specialties central issue was helping Russian Jews to leave Russia. Yes, that's correct. It was called highest the Hebrew International Aid Society, and it's still it's still going strong and actually doing a lot of activism right now, behalf of immigrants and refugees now. Wake my audience up. What is it like for? Alex Halberstadt to wake up and find himself in America having grown up near to Moscow. was. It was wonderful. I'M NOT GONNA lie, you know as as a nine and ten year old I thought America was amazing. It was every every kid's dream. You know unlimited consumer goods based. Professional wrestling on television now it was really it was. It was a wonderland. You grew up. In Russia what did the Russian novel mean to you control? It was a huge. Influence on my life does go ski in particular but Tolstoy, so tell me about your relation to the Great Russian literature. I think my relationship was a little ambivalent I tried to read. And I think, I have read most of tolstoy industy upscale entered. In, Russia which took. Eventually started to take a lot longer than it did in English and I loved reading those books. But it kind of you know. I found that also a little confusing because it kind of. I think in some ways overlapped with my experience of having grown up in Russia and kind of taught me about kind of the version of Russia that I was that I only got to know through books. I lived there in the nineteen seventies during the heyday of Soviet Union. You know surrounded by. Socialist realism and this was kind of a rush that I was only getting to know through books innocent I? Think one the things that fascinates me about your book young. Heroes of the Soviet Union it's an memo R- and reckoning the subtitles The You Come. To consciousness. After the death of what I was taught growing up was the great solve fullness of Russia. The Soviet Union. With the secret police and the thongs. parentally, your grandfather was a murderous thug. he certainly was. Who was himself. Murdering Jews and the other so headed your family. Your mother's side was Jewish. Yes, yes, so what happens then to the Russians so? The Russian soul. Well, you know it's funny. A part of writing this book was kind of trying to reckon a I think it's subtitled reckoning because. It was an attempt to reckon with what that country means. WHOA, how Howard was formed, and it's also a nation of readers, a nation of people who? Love jokes anecdotes, and you know they are indeed a very soulful. People, but also simultaneously it is a country that has an uninterrupted history of despotism of cruelty of. Secret Police of. Whether the league punishes him like plays a game. I'm not saying someone won't try him on, but I would expect that he would in some way detonate. Before he gets to an actual game and that whoever has them will go. Yeah. You know, we were afraid this would happen. We thought maybe we'd get by, but we can't live like this and you're gone. So I think I'll catch on somewhere to try Try it on, but I don't think he'll make it to off

"That helps out the cause, but the recognition from your peers, which is great I want to get into more of your finances, and and some of the ways that you've handled your salaries and stuff, but quickly I want to go through because you are an NFL player, and we've sort of glossed over all of that, so let's get back so. Your path, Ravens Titans Lions jets, and now the Patriots so you are an undrafted free agent in two thousand thirteen hundred other interviewers that you're pretty pissed about that, but you were happy. At least you got a look from your hometown team in the Ravens, but you never actually saw regular season action until the Lions Twenty fifteen played there for a bit before going to the jets. And with the jets you were suspended the first four games of the two thousand nine hundred season for PD's. You had heartfelt statement on your instagram about you know the supplement that you took and the research that you thought you. Did he take me through that because you are so informed and educated, and you are someone who has established himself as very thoughtful. 7 Unconventional Tactics to Scale Any Consulting Business

"Welcome to another episode of Marketing School. I'm Eric Su and I'm Neil. Patel and today we're GonNa talk about seven unconventional tactics to scale any agency or consulting business right now, so number one. Neil and I talk about this a lot I think during times this where people are might be dialing back their purse strings a little bit. You know you offer some type of thing where it's a no-brainer to work with you so in a no brainer example would be. Let's say I go to kneel and say hey, Neil. I like to work with you to provide at services, you and I. I know you need help and you can't really afford it right now. Why don't we work for you for a month or two for free? And then you know then we have annual deal agreement after that so basically how it workers? You don't pay for the first two months, but what you can do is you can split up the cost with the next ten months afterwards, and you can make it. That's good for you. Actually 'cause you get repaid on it. They get to save on cash flow for a little bit, and you get a longer term deal, so that's the first one. The next one is use project management solutions, because if you're trying to scale your consulting business and you're, don't use project management solutions to communicate with your clients, communicate internally and track time and hours on who's doing what it's a pain and a nightmare to continue to scale and grow by doing that what you'll do is you'll quickly figure which clients are profitable. which ones aren't which ones you're? You're not spending enough time on which ones you need to spend more time on as well as how people could be more efficient too, so that we can get more done for your customers for the amount of time that they're spending because they're paying a flat fee in theory ends up coming down to hourly rate because you know that you have cost and yet to make sure as Number three, I think it's really important to learn copywriting what I mean by. That is not just writing essays or whatever, but learning how to be persuasive learning how to structure sentences learning how to write less doing less with more a lot of that. Is that ties into how you do work with anybody really whether it's your your friends, or whether it's in business, but there's a course called increased on academy, and you know this is shared by our mutual friends Saieed, and he actually started out. What's his team and what? What happened was they got a lot copyright like they know how to write email copy now they know how to write all this other copyrights of Lincoln copy email copy linked, and especially I see the people that are writing good copy. They get like four to five hundred comments or so, and that's just awareness for you so I think you know taking advantage of organic reach was linked thin, and just in general when you email people being very sustained. That's going to get you more at bats for getting more deals. As a consulting business and discussing a number four is you need consistent deals new customers more revenue, because if you're not getting that one, you're not gonNA skill to your consulting businesses going to dwindle away. So what I want you to do is go look all the recently funded companies. You can get a list on places like crunch base, and I want you to outlying everything that they're doing wrong that you. You can help them with and breakdown how they can fix it all in a PDF. Send it to the founders and investors, and let them have all the information for free way of find is a portion of twenty thirty percent should be hiring you to fix those issues. It's a great way to scale your client generation or your generation side of your consulting business, all right number five is niching down. Down so here's the thing like we have an agency accelerator coaching program where we help agencies grow and the number one thing that I see that's a problem. Is that people in the very beginning? Try to compare themselves to the big agencies Oh. My God the big agencies all these big clients they work with all these people. They were across all these industries, our full service and they try to be everything. Everything to everyone, but keep in mind. They have a lot more resources in terms of capital and human capital as well. You don't have that, so you have to think about what you're really good at what industries are good at also what services you're exceptional lots because we tried to do all this stuff in the beginning to overwhelm you, and before you know it, you're out of business. You gotta think. Think about how you can be focused in the very beginning and the problem with agency type businesses is, it's really easy to become unfocused because there's a shiny new object every single day. The next thing I want you to do is streamline your reporting process. There's a lot of tools out there from Sem Russia's to address to what's agency analytics. Is that what it's called Yeah Raven Tools There's a lot. Lot of software for whatever nature an that help you streamline your reporting. You can even use things like Google data studio, but if you don't have your reporting right cause any type of consulting business you're in. You'RE GONNA deal with clients on a regular basis. Send him notes on what's being done and the results whether it's marketing or something else about streamlining the report creation will save so many hours from. From your team all right number seven last, but not least think about how you can structure talked about in the very beginning pricing where maybe they don't pay you, but if the timing is right, what you can do is think about how you can price based on value or how you can price based on performance, so here's an example if I get on a sales, call it somebody instead of saying hey. Hey We just charge twenty five hundred dollars, a month or five thousand dollars a month or whatever you know. I actually have a conversation saying. Hey, Neil, you know if we're able to get these results for you. Let's say we make you ten million dollars. Are you in the pay? Million Dollars Neil of course, and it'll be like okay. How much does it? It's ten million in profit or ten million. Right ten million in revenue. I don't know but yeah, yeah, well. Let's assume Neil is not you know meals, not the entrepreneur. Let's say it's actually like big company and you know it's like a executive like a director level. There probably would be okay with either or it is true anyway, so the thing is like if you can get them to say okay if we're GONNA, work together and you know after a year or so you know what we're having coffee. What would success actually look like? What do you want right? So you actually get to the crux of what they want. And then what you can do is, you can charge a small medium large type of thing. Thing meaning instead of just charging to five grand. Maybe your lowest years five, grand, five, grand, fifteen, grand sixty grand a month like six Grand Fu pricing right, and sometimes you put like you know additional levels of support, but what happens is sometimes people have such a big ego that they just over two biggest ones. No, no, no, we're! We're going to go for the biggest one and I've seen that happen a couple of times, so that is number seven I hope that's

NFL owners vote in rules changes

"The NFL owners will have a virtual meeting today in this As of yesterday afternoon was going to be a potentially very interesting gathering. A couple of the proposals that were on the table included the addition of a Booth Umpire. That was a proposal by the Ravens and the chargers who be the eighth game official and also the addition of a senior technology advisor to the referee. They were net star senior technology advisor to the referee couple of is in the sky to help with the on field officiating. It was reported Later yesterday afternoon by the NFL networks. Tom Police zero that. Both of those proposals were being withdrawn. So they're not going to talk about that stuff today Probably the most interesting proposed rule. Change is one by the Philadelphia. Eagles that would allow teams that opportunity to try a fourth and fifteen from the offensive twenty five yard line in lieu of an onside kick the The percentages for onside kick success have gone way down. Eight out of sixty-three were successful last year. Twelve point seven percent drop from twenty one point two percent success rate prior to the rules changes a couple of years ago the player Safety Initiative Changing the way. Onside kicks are conducted in terms. Overloading one side getting a running start and all that stuff so the NFL apparently is going to get some more information about how possibly incorporate is in the sky and that might have something to do with the pass interference fiasco from last year. Troy Vincent the NFL's Executive Vice President of football operations addressed that tobacco with NBC sports this week and he said the NFL failed miserably with that allowing challenging of pass interference calls and non calls because the League did not do its due diligence. That's how Vincent face that quote. Because we didn't do the proper due diligence at played out publicly the lasting we should be talking about is the way the game is officiated we failed. I'm first in line. We cannot allow that to happen again. We've got to do our due diligence. You can't rush and just shove something in there without knowing all the consequences and we found out last year live and inaction publicly.

"Marcus wailers real than a new book that he once tried to catch Kelly cheating on him when he was out of town and she was non answering his calls. He completely likes flew to where she was to see if she was cheating like that like he got to be pretty convinced. Someone's cheating or there has to be some type of behavior like the first time they don't answer the phone. You catch a flight. That's very extreme. That's kind of a fairy. That's a very active role to be taking and by the way to add to your point. Nina this was after they were newly married. Animal Slander! Debunking 'Birdbrained' And 'Eat Like A Bird'

"All right first up bird brained again. People say this when they're implying somebody needs to get it together or they're scattered. Yeah clearly not a compliment right so for more on this you talked to Corinna newsom. Hello Hi Emily. Yeah Hey how are you? I'm good how are you good? Good my name's emily. Corinne is a Grad student at Georgia Southern University studying birds and before that she was zookeeper she's got a deep well of experience to draw upon for today's episode. What's your relationship with that phrase bird brained? I usually get a little bit offended when I hear the word bird brained as a person who spent a lot of time training birds For the purpose of education and showing off natural behaviors. I've gotten a chance to look very closely. At how birds think and understanding the way that they think and being very impressed with their cognition and so when I hear people use bird brained as an insult. I am. Dan Personally insulted. You gotta stand by Your burs. Starting off strong. I mean you gotta set the tone. Okay trusted expert. Witness Carina newsom approaching the bench. Hit us with that sweet sweet evidence. Carina SAYS BIRDS ARE OVERALL PRETTY SMART. Cognition depends on the species of course but birds in the Corbett family like crows and Ravens are wicked smart. Oh Yeah Yeah Yeah. They can memorize faces. They were Super Cool. Experiments on that in some crows can make tools which is usually associated with primates. Correct and you know what other birds are. Smart Parrots. They are incredibly social animals. They are also very skilled at mimicry. At recognizing even memorizing patterns At picking up on behavioral cues from humans. Corinna says that parents are tough pets precisely because they're so smart you have to give them mental stimulation and if you don't they're going to occupy themselves which oftentimes may end up looking like biting your furniture tearing apart your shoes wreaking havoc on your home here. It's need constant mental stimulation or else. It's just havoc and all of this has to do with connections inside their brains. Do I smell little data? Kwon Oh you. Do you better believe you do so a couple of years ago. This study came out that looked at brains across different types of birds songbirds parrots various birds of prey and the study looked closely at this part of the brain called the medial spira form nucleus which helps connect the Sara Bellum to the Tel and south one. Zero Bhalla is at the back of the brain deals with muscle movements balance. That kind of stuff. Do you know what that is yet? Yeah I know stuff kwong. Okay fine well do you know at the Telegraph. Alana's I yes. Go read do go right ahead. What is it okay. All right Gimme second. There's a lot of stuff in the brain Yeah it's this really intricate set up structures in the brain that are required for some of the most complex and evolved functions. Yeah you clearly. Google that With I can't you're breaking up on going through a tunnel. Ma'am you're in a closet? You can't be gone through the same time all right anyway. Moving on the key here. Is that the bridge connecting these two parts. The medial spire form. Nucleus and birds is a mark of strong cognitive abilities and parrots have an unusually large medial spiral form nucleus for their size so the birds have small low noggins but really advanced Lil Naga. Oh yeah good point. That was my follow up question to this research. Carino was talking about two and so despite the fact that birds have like very very small brains Usually like the size of a walnut forest and even larger Brain Bird. Those brains are the most effective at packing neurons compared to any other brains including Mammalian brains. So you hear that birds punching above their weight when it comes to neural density honestly. I'm not surprised. So some birds have about as many neurons in therefore brain than like a primate so because their brain has some complex folding and the the neurons are closer physically closer together inside of the brain. They can have a large number of neurons accomplishing a lot of the same goals that animals with bigger brains and their but fewer neurons have. Okay Kwong the verdict on bird brained. Oh you know what it is Mattie. Do I even need to say it slander? Getting so good that you taught me how could Lord okay? Okay my turn so I looked into the phrase eat like a bird. Oh yeah very curious about this. People will say that it suggests. Someone doesn't eat very much that they're like peckish right. Which you know the official. Npr shortly position is that just. Don't comment on how much or how little somebody eats you know what I mean. Generally speaking yeah mine. You're on food business. Yes so okay. Let us start our examination of eat like a bird by considering the simple hummingbird. Do you know how they eat. Deer Kwan no no I do not dear Mattie but I fear but I fear you are about to tell me in excruciating detail first of all let me start off by saying you're welcome second introduce you to Alejandro Trico. He is an assistant professor of biology at the University of Washington on curator of birds at the Burke Museum of the University of Washington. But before that when he was a graduate student at the University of Connecticut he was part of one of my favorite bird. Eating related experiments ever so humming. Birds have really long tongues that dart out to get nectar and for a long time scientists. Thought that the tongue worked like a tiny tiny little tube so small the nectar. Kinda just shoots up the tongue on its own by what's called capillary action Ali in his boss Margaret Ruby. The did not by this capillary action. Theory Oh We were discussing. How the equations and the predictions from those capillaries don really made sense in terms of what the actual the hummingbirds in nature look like. But here's the thing on one does not simply eyeball a hummingbird tongue. These little are as thin as a fishing line and they dart in and out of the beak at like fifteen to twenty times per second. Whoa so to solve these problems. What we devise were tiny transparent flowers with flat sides so we could film through it and see the action happening on. We needed high speed video because it's happening so fast so we were filming between a thousand and two thousand frames per second just to see how long would interact with the nectar. So cool all right so. They made little glass flowers so they could film through them. That's that's pretty genius. Yeah and what they saw kwong. It changed the Hummingbird game. What we saw is that the Humbert on when he touches the nectar. I the portion that is inside the liquid on falls on it has little fringes on those tubes on those open up. Oh so it definitely isn't just a static little tube no not even close as the tongue is shooting out of the beak. It's compressed by the beak but when the tip of tongue hits the nectar it splits into two like a little snake tongue and those tips. They have these little flaps that hoping an those flaps fill up with nectar. That is so amazing.

Lamar Jackson, Ravens QB, lands cover for Madden 2021

"So the mark Jackson announced he will be the cover athlete for Madden twenty one is only the second ravens player to ever be on the cover ray Lewis was on the cover in two thousand five he was asking he was concerned about the infamous Madden curse and he said I'm not worried Patrick Mahomes was on the front and he wanted to be P. so I want that curse at left to follow the path of M. V. P. then the Superbowl homes on the cover last year after the MVP season then obviously we know what he did this year winning the Superbowl so maybe the Madden curse is over but that seems appropriate yeah mark Jackson will be on the cover people are tweeting out clips of him doing Maddon type moves and I mean we haven't we haven't seen him play in a while obviously because it's not football season but man he's he the league isn't such a great position moving forward the quarterback position across the way that it's evolving it's so fun to watch and quickly I got out and now like there in six games later they're ready to play and highlight any and he's just he's such a thrill to watch because he not only puts these incredible movies and I he gets out of bounds are down so good at avoiding the head home to that it's just you can watch without that that horrible anxiety of like he's going to take a big hit he knows how to to get that actually got to get out of bounds

20 Minutes With The CMO Of Crossrope

"Well surge. Welcome to the show firstly. Thank you very much for taking your time. Talk today now. Thanks for having been really interested in this topic. It's something that I've always tried to do. The pulse like I'm sure many people that have customers of the past said they struggle with it and they give up so we're talking today about jump. Raven crossroads in particular. Can you give us a bit? More context about crossroad. An-and really how you came to be involved with with with business. Yeah absolutely so cross up. It's a it's a unique jump rope. Workout experience We created some time ago. Really with with this idea of giving people a funny way to get fit you know wherever they go And we'll get into the benefits of jumping rope. I'm sure but I joined the business back in two thousand and fifteen but really been jumping rope probably for the past ten twenty years. I'd say I think I I. I picked it up when I started boxing back university on known to go to tool for endurance and whatnot and I found that it helped a lot with my work that I played a lot of basketball growing up and still do and then you know even when I put the boxing gloves down. It's just one of those tools that have always kept around in my gym bag and enjoyed using it as a one tool. Eventually a came across the crossroad system. Back in two thousand twelve two thousand thirteen when it? Kinda I got introduced to the market became close friends with our CEO. Right right now and in the system similarly changed the game for me. Kind of became one of my go-to tools. It's really because of its unique design about our systems. We've created interchangeable set of jump. Ropes where you can easily clip in different weights and ropes in and out of your handles and that gives you more engaging in Bristol workout. Then you know what you get with a single. Abc Rope so similar to how you'd maybe have a wide range of dumbbells in gym and we like to offer different weights. Ropes that help with different fitness fitness goals. And so another thing that we really focus on on like jump. Ropes are ropes are S- are primarily designed for jump rope fitness so we've built on specifically along with their APP workouts. Help you get lean build endurance and build strength so they're primarily. Ah Fitness tool and with that. We've we've Created a companion fitness APP. That gives you access to you. Know hundreds of really workouts You can follow along to and do do anywhere really in thirty minutes or less which considering these schedules these days. Everyone's on the go. All the time is exactly what we need to even now the situation of like staying indoors. It's perfect time to pick up a rope and just do that anywhere wherever you in a house for example yeah exactly Amina Sometimes You know we'll get a lot of questions about the benefits of jumping rope. And some of them are obvious and some of them are not obviously great for building endurance and Cardio floodway but the portability of the tool especially in today's day and age on the ability to take your workouts anywhere and like you mentioned them at home is really important for a lot of people you know even before the craziness of today. We talked to a lot of people people who love the ability to be able to squeeze in a workout at lunchtime. You know we've pulled our community recently just to kind of get a sense of the versatility and different ways. People are adding jumper workouts into their routine and at the list really goes on. I mean some like I mentioned earlier. They use it does warm up others use it. As a workout finisher others added to their strengthen hit circuits some use it in place of Iran or combine it with Yoga practice. And so it's really. It's a really interesting tool for anyone who's looking to add it to whatever it is that they're all redoing. I hadn't even thought about the benefits to things like footwork. When we're talking about boxing honestly stereotypically in films and such you see people always jumping rope and you think that's obviously that warm up endurance. But you don't even consider the additional supplementary benefits like footwork which is obviously such an important parts of sports like basketball boxing even things like NFL. Everything thoughts you still need to have quite good agility. And that's the such supplementary benefit the thing necessarily comes to mind. Yeah no absolutely and that's something. I saw firsthand when I first started using it back in the day in day in. And it's something that I feel like. Sometimes there's a bit of a stigma with jumping road that you need to be well coordinated or athlete to be successful with it. And that's something we've really tried to think about when we built the cross rope system and what we've learned by running workshop shops especially early on is that we've really found a way to drastically accelerate the learning learning curve and That religious goes into something. I'm sure we'll hit on. But it's the the weighted rope aspect and so when a lot of people. I started jumping rope or they try to learn how to jump rope. It's typically with the CDC ROPE. Something you'd you'd find out that. Nisar Department Store what most gyms Carey in trouble with that. Is that throat this to light? And so if you're struggling with coordination or tiny becomes really difficult to tiny jumps and that's where a lateral a lot of mistakes in triplets. Happened in where the frustration comes from. And so what we've done is we've introduced a range of weighted ropes in for example when we speak with our customers were just getting started. We often recommend a half pound. Roper Market Lean set and it's ideal getting started or because what it does is it slows down your rotation and that extra little bit of resistance makes it easy to feel the rope turning around your body and that helps with the timing the coordination so you know we have seen people who try jumping rope with plastic. Pbc ropes. I should say in the past go from struggling to string along fifty to one hundred jumps within five minutes so I think the that piece of it. The coordination is super important from both sides of it. You're already in athlete. Experienced Stephanie. Going TO HELP IMPROVE. foot speed. And if you've never jump rope before you feel like you're not at that level yet. In terms of coordination there are ways where the system kind helps you learn this particular skill and exercise very quickly. I think what's touchback on? Then is that you mentioned. There is some stigma. Wave jumping rope. We think because of it being portrayed in films and other forms of media crossovers and all sorts. It makes us being the we. The average person have tried it before. Call just dive in and do it. And I've always said to myself the arm too heavy footed or to not like my feet. I'm really bad at jumping rope so I just stopped myself from other trying even though I know. Be a helpful tool. So how are you trying to help? People get over the stigma to understand that it can be for everyone. And if they gave the Patrol I really understand what you mean by. Having a slight resistance failed to get more controlled. How you hoping people vs into that transition of like item do this. We try to tackle it a few different ways. And I'll tell you a quick story. I mean when we were at the Arnold Classic in Ohio a couple of years ago you know they have like two hundred thousand people walking by and we held a little sixty second challenge at our booth where it was basically a you know trying to do as many jumps as you can with a one pound and winner at the end you know. We gave away a couple of a couple of sets and it was really opening to us to see just how little people know about way. Ropes feel that you get and it's and it's you know when we see you know big guys come by and trying to do this challenge and the just getting absolutely winded within sixty seconds looks on their faces really kind of told everything and so for us. It's been a challenge to kind of share that experience through our marketing and through our storytelling and saint goes with you. Know getting started because of the stigma because of the challenges people may have faced in the past and what you may be seeing in the media the ways we try to approach it is really through education and so we try to share the experiences of other jumpers in our community who have kind of gone through that experience themselves we have a lot of tutorials and beginner oriented. Workouts are fitness at and so we help guide people through those where it really helps. You know how to get started. I feel with other jump ropes. You don't really get the content piece in that sometimes make makes it really difficult because you you get the rope in. You're not sure what to do with it. And then you know we I think the most interesting pieces just People don't know what to compare it to the weighted rope aspects. Because they've never tried anything like that and so we really try to make it as easy as possible to give cross rope a try so you know we we have a sixty day. Return policy rarely used. You know we we tell people hate. Get the ropes experience for yourself. See The difference. If you don't like it we'll take the we'll take it back and give a full refund in through those efforts. We've got a lot of people to give the system a try and once you try it. You instantly know the difference. He has certainly see it for yourself. Because when you feel that resistance heavy rope turning around your body at it's a game changer. As it was for me when I first tried

"We are joined now by butterfly and Jay Wright thanks proper billing to me okay. Wasn't sure just want to make sure everybody's got their own terms. I know it's really late. You guys thank you so much for staying up with us. It's almost one in the morning. We're GONNA miss. We miss the shuttle obviously. Didn't have to root back. That's all I have to do is get the scooter to make it back up the elevator. You've been charging for a couple of hours now. Yeah you'd think you'd think it makes it across the hotel once and then it's out of POW. Wow that gaff rental disclose. This was my pantheon this year. It's all about look. Butterfly Moon is disabled. Sell your post on the official pagan projects. Who the hell's being Earth pigging grouping anthea on facebook community very go. I've had more than one incident. This time that I've become a piece of furniture. People have climbed on me. People have adult people adult people. I mean it's one thing if the kids climb on me that's okay. I looked like a jungle gym sometimes sitting on that thing. But I'm on scooter and I was trying to back up to park the scooter. In a workshop woman came through the door decided the gap between my back end and the chair was where she was going to walk. Even though my scooter was in motion and when the space got to narrow she put her foot on the scooter and her hand on my shoulder went up and over. The back scoops climbed over. You just climbed over like you were an actually. They're not like you're a real person or anything. No I was a piece of furniture. That's ridiculous Shit A and and it's one of those things that it's one of those things that you get used to win. You are disabled. Not being seen not being heard not being looked at or talked to but one of the things I love about. Pantheon is it's one of its one of. I think to pagan events that are held indoors so disabled people can attend. I cannot do outdoor events or camp outs the Ground Jason. Even my mobility devices. Don't work there. I've just not possible. Losing Pantheon means I have to fly across the country to go to another hotel show unless we create another one And I'm hoping that the next version of this will be great and accessible but I also think that we have to create a better space agree. I've heard some of your comments seen them on facebook and as somebody who is not differently abled. I don't face those issues. So it doesn't come to my forefront tell somebody brings it up and I feel bad about that because I don't have to think about it and most people don't and it's good they don't have to think about it but I would like it if they would see that we're here no you don't have to think about it. All the time to my thing is always don't put another obstacle in my way. I think it's just a simple fact that a lot of people don't think it we actually. I went to meet up recently two weeks ago and I know that the group had good intentions ago. We want wanted to paint the connex out in camping. And I'm like for the promises that excludes a large portion of the yes says they even if a mistress prime-1 camping she could easily because she has stuff that she needs it not to mention that traditional camping for those of us who have a knee and back issues. It's it's painful. It's very painful. And if you have allergies or asthma or yeah yeah I have trouble getting off a regular bed let alone off the ground uneven ground wheels volunteer person. I've gone to Ren Fairs where we've left early toes wheels of my walker sink into the silt or the mulch that they put down and I get stuck the wheels on the bus no longer go round and round exactly and it's so much fun to watch him trying to pull me out considering my relative size now getting video of that no sir. No by absolute favorite was I got stuck his. The parade was headed. My Way and my friends are in the Scottish clans. And they realized what was going on and they gave the orders. And the guys big guys marched out and kicked me in the Walker up and moved off to the side. It was hysterical. I mean I knew they were coming in so they sort of had my permission to pick me up and move me but it was along the lines of of watching my friends faces. He realized I was stuck and that the parade was about to walk right over me Yanks and they did it. More or less in cadence. Yeah that was fun But there are times when you know I WANNA be a regular part of the rituals. I WANNA be a regular part of the events and I can't always do it. That's that's a good point for those of us who planned rituals do public events. Yeah think about those who are differently abled than what you are listening pigging specifically but I didn't escape room and one of the things that the ass was are any colorblind. His they had a change was Trials that is in this Abram for that is it would never occurred to me would creating something like that. Actually that was brought up at one of the one of the conferences that I had been at with regards to It was workshop regarding A website and being mindful of color blindness win putting in certain Colored Fonts and highlights for your links so that people could recognize that there is an actual link there sometimes to continue to the next page. Press the Green. Button up your. There's No red green or purple here that I can help myself to rights exactly so it was kind of it was something I hadn't thought of before and so. Oh this is something we need to be aware of. Yeah I've had to learn to have an a conversation differently. I yes su-mei Jay is almost completely colorblind. I have had to learn to describe things differently. I can't say could you hand me my Blue Cane? He just turns and Glares at the because I have a stand with twenty different gains in it. Yes he has no idea what color they run on. Each one will actually. Once upon a time I had ones that had like animal heads in different so we named them all so I could say hand me quite chain. Cain hand me you know. We gave them puns of course Because he couldn't see the colors but yeah there's there's different things could be done. What my one of my big things is. Ada is great except most people in acting it. Stick to the letter of the law and not the spirit of the law

"ravens" Discussed on Ravens at the Crossroads

"Buy goods cross bigger. Toss Bridget's cross cross. Okay Carol was part of a wheat. Leaving Group That my My friend William and that are were also part of and they would do. These really awesome weaving projects that they bring all the week and they started out with what they thought was just going to be like a little class. That didn't think they were GONNA get a lot of attendance. At and every year they would be standing-room-only and They ended up doing to a weekend sometimes because it was just such high demand. People love learning. The projects doesn't mazing work. Yeah they Well TO BE FAIR. Careless just amazing amazing talented human beings. I've ever known So many different things. She's she always impresses me So yeah they would do these. These weaving projects and people just loved it. And then their vendor for the wheat disappeared when oedipus. Thank you out of business Her William bought the last stock and and that and then that was. It was disappointing because everybody that was attending if they were able I was never able to get in the class and I know these people and it was it was always so crowded and I figure I can always learn from them at home I was GonNa say she's she's offered to teach me and a few other people in our class. I think she she if she ever offers to teach you anything. Always take her up on it absolutely she. She knows her stuff. Yes but yeah so and then nat had actually taught Something that was related to Terro. I can't remember it was it was a it was a project but she had also taught a class on that. She wasn't teaching Tarot. It was something about shoot. I can't remember what it was like making book. I think it would like hold your reading and place or something I am. I feel bad because I don't remember but it was really cool. Yeah and I love that. All of my friends were teaching all of these different classes. These crafting classes. You've got Spas Keti your kitty drive-by going on behind you. It's cat see unlike Japan. My cats are not so nice. Yeah they're being spazzy goofball that good false no. It's it's amazing to know these people and know that I did not know that now had did presentation but I know she's very big into the nation and Tarot specifically so yeah yeah We have some very talented friends. We do we do So Anyway this is the final one and it's a really sad him. It's also the one year anniversary of the idea. Ravens at the crossroad. Yes it is so it's even though it's not like official one year because that's in July but yeah but this was. This is the time that we came up with the idea. I know this because I got the renewal notice for the domain while I know this because I remember sitting there. Yeah in Arden Haynes booth having that conversation that just went. Hey I have an idea. Well how about this to that idea? Well that sounds cool. What about this and it just blossomed and we move forward when we totally ran with it. So it's kind of ads the bittersweet moment 'cause like this was the event that that was born but you know and and Glenn Who Glenn is the The founder of Pantheon Con Even she said everything has its cycle meaning in life. Everything has a cycle and she said you know. This is just Pantheon Cycle. It was just time and I know. A lot of people are going to be really bummed because a lot of people in the community got something from this miss and I know other people are going to be like well. That's okay And that's fine too So I'm looking forward to seeing what grows from this because a lot of different groups are saying. Hey I want to start this and so it might not be one giant event like Pantheon. It might be seven more smaller events. Then you grow from it but so long as it just keeps blossoming. Exactly that can listen to. The next point was asked about. How would people be able to find these other members in the community? That's a question actually get questioned a lot. People reach out to me on the regular. They're they're in an area where they don't necessarily have a large pagan community that they're aware of You know like southern California who you can find pain in southern California really easily right because there's a lot of supply stores to go to. There's a lot of different events that are public rituals classes All different kinds of things. But we've had a number of people show up to the like. I knew nothing about this. I know we do. You mean like they didn't are saying the ones that didn't know anything about the community. The community specifically right and You know there wasn't much of a community. In in Orange County specifically knitting it existed very like there were little pockets of people that knew each other and gather at each other's houses or they go to some of the local stores but it was still not very obvious right not like now like dragon in the rose which is What city are based in orange? Santa Ana Santa Ana? I believe here in Santa Ana so when they came on the scene they Karen is the owner She did what I think is one of the coolest things. She was very much thinking about how she can connect with the community at large and it wasn't just about drawing people to you know by her wares. It was really about making her store. The hub of the community for people to make connections and and I thought that was fantastic. it's an amazing place to be a make connections absolutely Karen and Atalaya I think are stellar examples of our community for contributing to our community and participating absolutely. I know caring for our class. Our teacher has gone off and let her know what books we need. And so Karen. Stocks are books so absolutely a lot. A lot of those stores will will do that if you talk to them If you already have really connection and I know your teacher has a connection with Karen And but the great thing about being in so callous we have a ton of stores. We do And if for some reason one store doesn't have what you're looking for it very likely drive down the road. That store might have what you're looking for But outside of Southern California your options are not as you know. There isn't as many options. There's not as many and they may not be as obvious they may be listed under other things share Used to suggest. And this is where. It's a little heartbreaking. I used to suggest go onto the witches voice go onto the website and the witches voice because they had an area where you could network and you could find based off of region. You'd look up your state. Then you'd look up your city and you could find if there were groups. Classes stores rituals Workshops events and individuals who were in your area that you could network with in person and But they were they were a worldwide website and unfortunately as of December thirty first this last year two thousand nineteen. They closed their website. Y- they're still available as a informational Facebook page right but it's not not to the level than the original a voice or which box Used to be so now so now it kind of narrows down your options and so I would say start off by looking on meet up dot com meet ups of good one and That's how I built the community in Orange County Helped to build that out was Doing meet ups but also I would suggest that in some areas an in person group may not be possible. And so therefore you might need to start by networking online. Yeah I'm part of a couple groups on facebook that are so there's there's lots and lots of groups on facebook And then you could and you might even find him by region. Because I know that there's at least two specifically for California. Yeah and then. I've seen I know of others that are smaller that are for Los Angeles. La Orange County Southern California So you might WanNa start looking in there and look by region but then There are other. There are other websites one of the things that want to jump right back to facebook is if you find a group and you don't fit in don't be disheartened because there's so many different groups out there and some of those facebook groups especially the smaller ones can be a little cliquey. Yeah Yeah you know what though? Here's the thing in person online. You'RE GONNA find cliquey groups. It's just the way it is and either you'll fit in or you don't but Tyler said don't be disheartened. If this is the path you want to be on. You'll find your people exactly. Just keep trying and put yourself out there to be able to open to you know. Meeting people and the other thing is like I know people are like well. What about finding a teacher or a coven you know? Have to join a coven to practice. Witchcraft it's not a necessity. It's cool if you find a group that you really click with and it they kind of provide family and community sense to and if you're really interested in having somebody teach you. There are so many sites online. Yeah there's actually I have a list on my mistress prime dot com page where I listed a bunch of schools That are available online temple witchcraft. Cherry Hill Seminary. Yep there's there's a bunch of school which there's a bunch and I know that I'm missing some and I should probably actually because I wrote the list a couple of years ago and I should probably just go back through and maybe update it and revise it. I don't have reviews on the schools because frankly that's not the purpose of the list via the list was just strictly informational about what's available and I don't really feel like reviewing because that's not really what I went through in one of the things. My teachers working on is Putting some for lessons out available for others to Kinda see in girling based off of she has look at some of the different websites and she highlighted a couple that were based on you. You so like Cups Cups has some classes and things like that. That's another opportunity right there. Look for your local you you because they often have a cups chapter and Cup stands for. I don't know how my head I don't remember either. I just know that the cups chapter is the Pagans. Yes yes So cups is usually with your you. You groups Yuping UNITARIAN universalist. Yes but there's actually a school based With cups and I'd arm the top of my head But look for those types of things places where you wouldn't necessarily expect to see them so you may not be as alone as you may think definitely not. There's way more of us than people realize in so many different walks of life industries countries where everywhere we are we are and it's kind of funny. You know trying to stamp us out almost hate to use this analogy but we're kind of like Hydra you cut off one head to more popular there. I am unheard yet. Yes did hail Hydra at our wedding. I believe that it was during the bloat session of our wedding. Okay I'm like really dude but with I think yeah so. There's lots of opportunities for networking and connecting. And if you're still stymied you can always email us. Yes and I can point you in the right direction. Usually I can find something in your area in the United States. It's a lot easier in Canada. I still have some resources there. But when you get outside to other continents. It's a little harder but I do have connections in South America and in all over Europe What I usually like to say is. I don't know I probably know somebody that does right. I can connect you. Yeah absolutely and that's that's kind of. I learned a long time ago. I can't know everything but I can know enough people to fill in my gap. So I don't know I always google. Yeah or you've got somebody that can fill in for you so yeah but with I think so I think once again our sponsors absolutely because that you have no idea how much of a boost of confidence to see somebody go off and say I like your stuff enough that I want to see you do more. And I'm going to put my money where they invest. My heart is yeah. I really like that too it. It really It really it just makes us feel like okay. We're on the right track. Exactly so thank you. "ravens" Discussed on Ravens at the Crossroads

"And then you just get this loud boisterous like explosive energy from some of these people and even when Japanese people are because there there are a few nights we were out late were drinking in Japan. Authored of huge part of their culture It's totally acceptable to go through and like have a beer while you're walking down the street. Really Hey you can go to a public park. In the thing is you would never know it looking at the park. Because everybody's so respectful of the community. They would clean up clean up after themselves. And even if you were able to somebody were to help you. They would then clean up after you. So it's it's such a great sense of community from allows people there's an amazing experience and they were super supportive of me trying trying to speak Japanese when I did so. That was making an effort. I was I was making a legitimate effort. In that was I heard from a lot of got. A lot of friends travel abroad regularly and more often than not. I've heard that wherever it is that you go if you just make genuine effort To try to speak their language. They're usually very accommodating very much so so no that was that was great. I I didn't get any blowback for being American or anything like that so that was actually had people who came up and want to work on their English with me extra so like some of the people that we talked to. They're like Hey Can Speak English with him. Like yeah sure awesome and so I was able to have conversations with them and help them with their pronunciation some of their English. That's good enough about my trip. Lucky lucky I would love to do more traveling. That's like I was there. Guess Fifteen years you're cute when one thousand nine hundred ninety six okay. Yeah things have changed since then. Oh I'm sure even while I was there. They're prepping for the Olympics. Oh that's right so they had a lot of construction. That was. That's another thing that I find interesting in Japan. Is You know how we add things on to try and make things more accessible for differently. Abled people okay. That is a core part of everything they do. It's already it's already in a grassy and everything so like when you're walking down the street there's actually railway for somebody who's using a walking stick to use that walking stick to know where they're at no one the hidden intersection and know which direction they can go. Oh that's cool. Rail is everywhere and every train station. We went to even the one out in a fee had a handicap access for like a ramp or an elevator or something. So it's pretty much just standard. It's standard practice. That's great and it seems to have been standard practice for a very long time so I applaud them for thinking about including their entire population. Not just those who are able bodied so that was something that stood out to me. I was like holy cow because everywhere we went had that railway for somebody using walking sick even out in the middle of nowhere. You had that really cool but we're getting ready to do our own little trip your soon. It's kind of a bittersweet trip. Yeah no I mean Kinda. I'm anxious excited and said all at the same time. Yeah but this is the final year for Pantheon. Yes I've been going for fifteen years. I guess I'm calculate. Yeah I think about fifteen years NOCA- Last year was my first year as you know. And it's an annual. It's like an annual family reunion for me In the sense that I get to visit with friends that I pretty much only get to see at Pantai con because they live out of state. And it's not easy for us to get together any other time and Sometimes I'll see them at another another event that was like my other family reunion but not as often so. I'm looking forward to being able to connect with some of our friends and favorite people that will be in attendance. I know that There's a collection of people who said they aren't able to make it because Finances or just the timing just didn't work out And I'm Kinda bummed that some of our some of our local friends aren't going to be able to make at this time but I'm looking forward to definitely looking forward to seeing Amber and as real so I'm Jay and I don't really know what the schedule looks like. I actually haven't seen it yet and I. It came out posted today. Think today or yesterday one of the two. But he was very recent that they finalized. I saw some highlights. I'm Tommy is actually speaking the star child. He's speaking in the Anderson Ferry. Oh yes yeah so he and Sims are going to be giving a presentation on getting it straight. I think oh I think I saw something about I think he did post that in the unofficial Pampa Group that I'm an Admin for so We'll probably catch that over there and Kinda catch up with him when be bad idea to just speak with him for a little bit. Now we definitely have to say hello yeah And for those of you who don't know who Tommy Star Child is. He is an author and fellow for mistress prime millions of Felli fellow Gary Seear with House abry. Yes which is Iran foxwoods. Go through our list of episodes. You'll find Tommy. He's our first episode. Tom's our first one Ryan's a few months back only a couple episodes back. Yeah so definitely. If you're interested You'll also get see how evolved as far as audio quality. It was it was a learning experience. Yes but Tommy's interview was fantastic. I really enjoyed it was yeah it was great. The content was amazing We learned some extra stuff about the wireless mics using. Yeah then we've learned since then so I'm looking forward to it. I'm not quite sure how how we're going to do. But we're going to try and record. Maybe well I know we have a couple of interviews lined up but We might actually do some on the scene interviews with attendees possibly and do our best look real. We'll see There's a lot of a lot of equipment So we're not super mobile. We're not not mobile. We're just not as mobile. Yeah and But mostly I just WanNa go and experience it. I'm I'm one of a total of four people who are going to be Kind of coordinating hosting the Pagans of Color Caucus. I the that was back on the. Yeah and that'll be Friday night so I'm just excited to see everybody. I've always enjoyed the experience of being the caucus so I'm looking forward to it. We wanted to be able to have it available for anybody who was still planning to attend for the last one because the the people that have organized it in the past are not going to be present so Crystal Blanton Myself And to people that I haven't yet met but are connected to crystal To Nikki wise and shoot weaker. I think that was the name Nica. I don't have. I don't have her name right in front of me And so they are also assisting and awesome helping. Coordinate and you know just pull it together with us and make the space safe and An open space for sharing and connecting networking awesome So I I know there was talk last year about it and I'm looking forward to if there will be. I've heard rumors but I haven't heard anything set yet. But because this is the last one there's a lot of different groups that are going to be popping up and I had heard somewhere that somebody was coordinating to put a pagans of Color Conference on. I've heard something to that effect. I've heard a few different ones. I'm not going to really speak to any of them until I actually see them. Actually produce something. Because I don't have like I don't have that information. I only know of one group that is that is stepping up in having an a talk a open conference like a town hall meeting kind of thing at Pantheon. Okay and they're the ones that are apparently going to try and take over. Where Pantheon leaves off. I know there's been discussion from a few different folks about maybe having some of the book. Publishers potentially help maybe I pick up and run with Pantheon and they would have a little bit of background in the sense of handling larger events. So possibly we don't know I don't know I haven't heard that so for those that don't know if we've talked about Pantheon. I swear I think we have. We've talked about a couple times I think. But maybe in passing. So it's one of my one of my favorite events because it's not camping and Only because for me. Camping is just Not Always Possible. So but what it is. The I think the largest world's largest indoor Pagan Conference and this is the twenty first year. I thought I saw twenty I. I think so. It's old enough to drink. Now that's all that's right yes And what is is it starts usually on The Friday of what's President's Day weekend so like I think what the second weekend of February I think. It's falling on Valentine's Day this year. It's it's been falling on Valentine's Day weekend for the last couple of times and or however often I'm not even sure so it'll be So this Friday this coming Friday until Monday and then it goes it. It typically goes from around one. Pm on Friday until three or five PM. On Monday I can't remember. He gets it last year. End Two three okay. I don't think we stayed around for the now. Every time we packed up and left we had a long drive ahead. Yeah excuse me. So but what? It is is also like ten tracks at simultaneously going of Wicca which craft Buddhu heathen indigenous practices lectures Rituals dances musical performance. Just all kinds of things authors all your favorite authors. Have these been there once. Usually if not multiple times They anybody you've ever heard of in. The Pagan community is usually been there at least once and data presentation of some kind. It's been an incredible experience. Speaking of which didn't Carol give a presentation.

"Off with a special. Thank you to some wonderful people. These people have chosen to sponsor ribbons across route by visiting our website and selecting donate those people include Natalie. Carol and Simon. Thank you so much. It really means a lot to us. allows us to do more things in the community actually helped us get an ad. For the last time they con- yes and cover some of those expenses that normally would be coming out of our pocket so we greatly appreciate you guys Providing that support for US and If anybody is curious and wants to support as well you can do that. From our website there is a donate button right there on the website so once again. Thank you Carol. Net and Simon. Thank you so much for supporting us is. That means a lot to us. I means so much choice means you believe in US exactly so. I just got back recently from Japan finally. Yeah that was. It was forever. It was a good trip. I enjoyed myself. It was right around the New Year so For those of you who are not familiar. New Year's actually more of a family holiday for Japanese families. And yes. Yeah I'm like I'm seeing you shake your head but he's your words. Yeah one of the things is the family will get together and actually go to either a community shrine or temple or some families actually have their own shrines temples. I didn't know that so we got to visit. The ten thousand tweets gates very cool very very cool so each one of those Tory Gates actually sponsored so you have different families who have put money in and businesses and depending on how much money they put in Kinda dictates. How big and thick. The TORII gate is so explain to our listeners. What A- Torii Gate is Torii Gate? If you've think classic Japan those Red Gates that you'll see like a structure like a sort. I'm thinking of like when you're walking through a garden gate. The it would be like the door for the Garden Gate. Not necessarily the gate itself Okay. or the outline and there's some famous ones but the ten thousand torch gates. It is very famous. You're literally walking down a path of just tore gay after Tory Gate. And when you're facing walking up you don't see any of the dedications on there but if you walk back you'll actually see the names of the families or the corporations or whoever have paid to support in the concept behind. The Tory is to support the temple or shrine that those targets are for and so they're just really a like a very much. So yeah it's very much Sponsorship or support for that temple or shrine Is there a spiritual significance behind them? It's a physical mathis station of that family or that company or whoever okay supporting that temple. Okay so there is a spiritual element to Some of the families though at the tenth that some families have actual shrines for their family. There and some of those look like they've been there for hundreds if not thousands of years legitimately. Some of these shrines are just covered in Moss. And you don't remove the Moss from your shrine you let it grow by. I was fortunate enough to see a couple of families perform their rituals at the shrine or offerings at the shrine. Specific temple that I went to was a temple and shrine to the Sun. God and the Fox represents the Messenger for that God so you saw a lot of Fox's all over kits in they get soon they're yes so the target does actually have a spiritual representation. Okay which is why I was like. I'm pretty as an opening for you. it what it is is it's a symbolic it's symbolically marks the transition from the mundane to the sacred okay. I was not aware that was not explained to me. I just knew that there was a symbol of support from the people and so that was a big one. We visited through the deer forest deer park deer park. There used to be a deer park. That was based off of the one in Japan. Down the street from knotsberry farm. Okay okay that's interesting because there was also an alligator farm across the street from Knott's Berry Farm. I wonder whatever happened. All those dear. I was just going to say no. I think they were actually distributed to other parks but like the others though are so used to people they just walk right up to just walk right up to you. If you're not careful you'll lose whatever food mom snacking on seagulls here. Yeah yeah they do. Keep the horns trimmed down for people safety. Okay but some of the deer if you bow to them box Liebau back. That's interesting. Yeah so that was. That was an interesting little trip and then I got to visit a shrine in you being a cat lover. You'll appreciate this. The shrine is dedicated to a cat. No yeah and so. There's just tons of Neko's statues all over this shrine and it's meant for good fortune which of course at the neck. Oh has POB is. It's a welcome to welcome but there's also means good fortune one right by my hands that I didn't even noted suddenly something's touching me while you're talking. I'm right so the shrines in question or the strength. I visited the reason why it's dedication to. Cats is because a traveler had decided to rest under a tree at a temple and while he was resting their Hughes woken up by a talking cat. You know because then always happens in Japan so Japan is very has a very big tie to Yokthai still like they still believe in spirits. And it's very animistic. Yes still a strong animistic presence very much. So and just the culture. There is amazing in the sense that people work for better the betterment of the community instead of you know me but back. There's a reason behind with the culture And I I remember reading somewhere longtime ago about how it's a small space share space with a lot of people in a tiny area and the best way to just get along is to be mindful about it yes They have a saying kind of how we have. The saying. Squeaky wheel gets the oil. They have the nail that stands out gets hammered so but back to the shrine. The man was so surprised by the cat and the cat home here not safe unique inside the temple so he goes inside the temple following the advice of the cat in the tree that he had slept under had got struck by lightning and where he would have been laying would have been he would he would have died he would have died so he donated a ton of money to the temple and created that shrine for that CAP. Did you send me this info while you were there I did okay? I'm like this is sounding familiar. Yeah I was GonNa say I explained it to you all it was there because I just I thought it was so cool. Is Such an interesting backstory behind it and I got a bunch of different items from the shrines. I went to probably went to over forty different shrines and temples. That's really cool. Across like thirteen or fourteen different prefectures. It was it was a whirlwind trip. I had an amazing time. There's so much I love about Japan. the convenience stores company seven. Elevens there every corner. You can get food from those places and it's like under five bucks and it's a good quality meal and like here. Yeah I wouldn't totally different thing. Yeah would not eat something that Besides like a hot dog and even kind of question about that seven elevens like. I got some of the some amazing chicken curry there. There's a lot that I I find very fascinating about their Their way of life their culture in Japan how different it is from here in America the Public Transit System. They're better than California. I'm searle much better so much better But when you're traveling during rush hour you get crammed into car like Thirteen Ken. I'm a big guy and it was even more apparent when we were so crammed into. I could not move like I. I don't think I would have handled that very well. You had people on the outside actually shoving people in. So the door's closed. I've seen video of that like that's okay. I'll walk. Yeah so it was definitely experience giving experience what they call the scrambles. So you see you've seen videos or like enemies where people just walk across every which direction air section. Sorry I would they call those scramble food so they call those scrambles. Yeah I it's an interesting experience just saying back in watch I remember. I was talking to your husband when they were expecting a cyclone typhoon. I'm like which region isn't yeah. It's Typhon and there. I found a link to a video for a scramble not far from where he sat or was that probably the Shibuya. I think that's what it was and it's just on twenty four hours and you can just look at it from wherever you are in the world. He sent me that same Lincoln as like. Watch this time when a wave at you. I'm like Oh but I couldn't see him. He's so short he just blended in with the he's like waving. It's like a calcium short but no it was an amazing experience. Amazing time got to see so much experience so much Opening yourself up and feeling the energy flow at the temples shrines their shrines literally everywhere. Just on side of the road. There's a shrine. That's the thing that I would really love to see and experience. I wish there was more of that here. Oh I wish we lose a lot of our history here. Unfortunately and the secret. Yeah AH FOR A LOT OF REASONS. But in Japan in some of the other countries that visited Kind of make it a priority to maintain that history. You can progress without destroying history. And that's one thing I feel like we kinda lack here in the states is well. There's a lot of reasons for that. Also competing religion that tries to crush it in obliterate it wherever very true very true kind of a dominant thing but yeah it was. There was so much I learned in. I love that. There's a spirit for every tree. Animal object you know like I love that. It's love that they recognize that. Yeah it's amazing and one of the things you've been with me like last year. At Pantheon I started having feeling a little bit overloaded from all the residual energy from everybody You how'd you do while you're out? There's a lot of people a ton of people but because of the way that they're brought up and raised They keep their stuff in check. So I didn't have nearly the issue with the number of people they're the ones that set me off in. Like Ping my radar. We're usually foreigners it wasn't necessarily Americans but there were some Australians and some people from the UK that like I knew they were there because all of a sudden the energy shift the huge. Like completely you get this kind of uniform. Mellow.

"ravens" Discussed on Ravens at the Crossroads

"Hi Welcome to Ravens at the crossroads. I'm mistress prime. I'm Tyler Matthews and we're here with Jaime Dela author extraordinaire ordinaire. Thank you for having me. We also have another guest. Hi I'm Jamie Small Kathy uh-huh to meet your Kathy. Thank you for joining us today or so excited. This is so fun. I'm glad you're in town. Yeah it's kind of an unexpected wonderful thing. 'cause I knew that you'd moved out of the area and We prefer whenever possible to do in person interviews because they're just a little bit more enjoyable aspect to it because we can see your face when we're talking to you and we have a little bit more control over her audio quality little bit. Yeah Yeah I contact helps. That's like over the little thing I think so talk to us about you. Have quite the long collection of books but talk to it was about your new book. The book of spells the Book of spells. Actually revision of the teen spell book. Okay so Last October my publisher tends to be press contacted me and asked me if I'd like to revise the book which is fantastic. Because I I wrote eight books in ten years while my sons were young and then I had to leave the attention on my authorship to raise them as a single parent and go back into the workforce and I was looking for this opportunity doing my vision in boarding creating my manifesting and didn't know this would happen but this is what happened and so then. I had the opportunity to look at the teen spell book which when I wrote that I was at the end. My Saturn's return and looking to let go of some pain and some old stories particularly about the divine feminine and healing with my mom and letting go of any teenage angst in knowing that we all do the best ask that we can so when I wrote the book the first time I went through my diaries and anything that was about anything that I wrote there wasn't connected to my own divinity my own connection to the goddess and the God to community itself to belonging longing belonging is a big FEM- in my life and so anything where I didn't feel part of and separate from I wrote a spell visualization ah visualization manifestation bring the opposite virtue so if I'm talking about apathy now I'm going to talk about purpose and so then with the book of spells. What we did is eliminated fifty spells? That felt they were superfluous or very focused on team and wasn't as focused based on self empowerment. And then I added Information on the row and herbs and crystals and eight new spells based on the eighteen the year different so it's kind of an ironic twist that it was literally a full adulthood that the book grew up. That's cool yeah. Yeah so this just came out right. Yeah it came out October first One of the things about it is when the cover design was first done they had a single rose with a lot of thorns. And I said you know. I know that that's how some people present magic in Sao Awesome people present witchcraft. But I'm hopeful puff and I don't do that Mama. Don't play that game. So I sent them the quote from Leonard Cohen Ring the bells. That still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There's a crack in everything that's how the light gets in because to me. That's what this book is is about. This book is about owning our cracks owning where we feel imperfect owning what we feel disconnected and Letting that glue be that Golden Indust. That is our connection kind of like The Japanese Art of cracking the teacup and filling it in with the gold. Filigree you to show that. That's that's what life is and then I sent them a picture. I cannot remember the artist name. I think it's ellen something or another. She's a sculptress and and she did this It's called expansion. And it's a this a sculpture of this woman sitting crosslegged position with her arms open and cracks Of light coming through her. I think I've seen that. Yeah so that's how they did the cover. Oh very cool very cool so so last night you were at an event I was invited to do an invocation also a little bit about that one of the things that was really neat about that is to have my boys with me. You know a lot of times people are asking now like why should I choose your book it with all all the book of spells that are out there all the spell books that are out there. Why should why does yours stand out? Why should we care about yours? I said well first of all it's based on my teenage years in other words it's based on the beginning of anything when it started hurting when you started to. I have your trust broken when you started to. I you know feel maybe not the. I felt depression but the first time you really start to feel that disconnect because you're developing your individuality so that also means you're developing the like some some disconnect as well and learn how to bridge that gap so it's a lot about connecting to the divide connect into original innocence connecting to your ABILITY TO CO create the world with the divine. And so this was I was able to bring my boys with me. That was really the the shining moment for for me. Is My two sons Skyler Kobe. Who are now twenty and twenty two were drumming on either side of me while I was chanting deep deep into the center were touching her deep about our mother about her mother Earth about our own divine nature and that was really very powerful for me and I was born in Saint Joseph's hospital so it was right and he was born in Saint Joe's raised reasons and Anna for the first eight years of my life so I'm returning to this place and calling in I mean I was invoking okay the directions with some and that was that was really fun and You know used my asthma like pulled it way up up and held it up with this big knife and it was just a reclamation of our witchcraft in our craft and our beauty beauty at the lightness of what we do. So that was that was really. That was really something special. Nice very cool now. Do Your boys his practice the craft as waller there just to support you. They have their own ways My youngest they both both do ritual and their own way. The youngest just did one day To heal from a heartbreak and used a lot of The work worked. I've taught him and created his own ritual to help him through. That gave him a a court cutting ritual and then he added to it with other things and other crystals so that was really cool and the young and the older one he lives in in On the islands so he he's living at every day studying in tropical agriculture. They're both they're ones into music and one's into Agriculture and and and mushrooms and and how do we make this connection. So it's it's living in them awesome. That's that's great to hear proud Mama so Since we're talking about family here let's talk about mom tells about your perspective about your daughter and how she's been on this path and do you share this path or do you have a different opinion about it or well just to give some background when I was pregnant with Jamie and I was eight months pregnant. My own mother passed away so her middle name is the same same as my mother della and I didn't realize that the time the Jamie comes from James which means supplant her and she was like the Phoenix child to me. She was the one that my cracks my sadness she could fill the void to a degree and I knew that she was not going to be like any other. She was kind of like a really unique delightful rightful whimsical mischievous child. That I saw these things in her that she was going to always go her own path. And I kinda delighted it in that. She march to the beat of her own drummer which I applauded because I appreciate that it'd be at so I see that in in her and it kind of validates and I see that how wherever she goes she kind of brings. She's kind of like the glitter of the world. She brings that that sparkle to people and lights them up and kind of shows them. I think she has light in her to be able to guide the light and other people and so so I started her paths. And I see her go in many different kind of variations of the path. And she's a searcher and a seeker and wants to affirm from life and just dance that dance of life that I loved about her swimming's got words ahead. That's awesome yeah it for when she writes things I thought. Oh I thought I was right. I it's just amazing. So tell us about amount when you first decided to really start pursuing this path in such a way that this was going to end ended up being more than just a spiritual experience at it was something that you were going to now pursue to share with the rest of the world Well I think you like my mom just laid the foundation there that I My grandmother my mom's mom had crossed before I was born so I always had this connection to the to the spirit world so it was kind of like my grandma cocoa. You know. We're that was always a part of my life so it was very and being. I'm half Mexican. It's just part of the magical realism of life is to be able to connect with the other side so to me that was just as normal as breathing Then I had another grandmother who was a Toronto reader. And that's what she did for a living and she was a character she came from a well to do family in the South and dropped all of that to pursue her crazy dreams and so I always had this Innate knowing that you could speak that you could you could bring in your own tuition that you could learn to listen to. The spirits writes that you could learn to listen to the The guidance that would come from from a from a Kodak. I remember the first time we had a a foreign exchange student from Spain. And my Nana's talking to her about past lives and that affects the relationship. She's today she's a first person who told me about soul families Jason and eleven eleven and I was hearing this all of this as a at a very young age and then it was also raised in Christian science because my mom who had been raised Catholic Her first marriage didn't work out and so when her second husband the man who raised me John came around and he was recent Christian science and that had been a religion that really helped him get through the Vietnam War when he was raising my sister and I we went to school every day. Okay so I was told everything you see. This table is no more real than the idea and the intention that you give it and so I was. I remember at eleven years all thinking of I could really see table as just Idea rather than form I pass my hand through it and the middle of the church. I did that and so I always knew this was all possible. All real and this parallel universe that we are living in you know the spirit and and the elemental beans and all of this was always just part of it. That was always very real. "Faith each year I try to show a new aspect back for people to understand how complex each each strand of the boat. so He'd Strand of this court you know how it connects with the Black Madonna's and the crusaders the knowledge that they found and while going to their Holy Land and what happened afterwards. In this like Madonna tradition that way. How how the Indian tradition I came from land. There was brought forward. How in fance the traditions? There that are pre From the Pre Christian worship of us the semi nomadic celts in that region was mixed with this Christianity but also with the the Bible the the first exodus to those shorts. How the expulsion of the Romany in Spain seen in Portugal happened and brought these people venerating to the shores of San Paolo and going foods? You'll head is the third Portugal's fifteen seventy four degree. I can pull these facts up them so much but The parallel of this fifteen seventy four decree which forced to be settlement of these the the people the Calo from Portugal and Spain to Brazil through other colonies in Africa so the African slave trade starts words off there as well and that connection so having the indigenous people Brazil mix with the gas traditions Eh Africa mixing with the traditions of Devonian peoples fleeing these areas areas. They nearly the colonies that they're doing these Plantations on in Brazil. We're leaking their slaves. Their their their their manpower were escaping into the rainforest and a lot law. Adam were not willing to go in there because the digits people Brazilian no the area a little bit more than these Spaniards So so and then them coming out to the combined do bunder traditions and having Sent Assira Kelly's in Ghana not being a Bombardier really like it just Bo- each once strikes in having this information each year giving giving a new aspect to say it's not just one thing Kelly serious. She's worshipped over one hundred thousand Roman inaugural many people wide. And all you need is a sincere heart when asking for a favor whether for candidy or for travel all or watchful protection right so that is the story that we continually dwell on each new aspect. So Oh I'm glad that you saw in Kelly mass back In her and just now the next x when we're going to be handling is the Tara in T- Way of the semiautomatics of that megyn offense before Christian worship dwelled in that area dwelling that together. Then hopefully I'll be going back to black mothers worship in in the Ukraine great and And that area of Central Eastern Europe. And how that comes in there because that has a play but it's it's more difficult story to tell we start with a simple the ones that we can give people people a lot of information in them to look out there than we give them more and more of the mystery repealing more and more of those veils and I am blessed with so many people coming year that keeps growing small still I want I want hundreds of people I want hundreds of people just lining up making people going. What the heck is going on here? We had protesters last year. But what did you laughed at. They went to the bomb went to the mental site. The the the protesters that think that I'm worship demonic figure because they opening dates and they went to the wrong frigging site were in the same park area but they wet somewhere else which was funny because I saw the driving in and go what the heck of a protest and then a friend of mine told me what it was about so Yeah I get another diatribes me I do apologize by the way my name is also John Corbis so right interesting talking bird thank you yes thank you thank you. That was so much to share. I absolutely love that you that you made time for us today seriously especially this late because I know. Oh you're on the east coast. Because if I don't say something and I pass away of these one other person in Canada has had any of the teachings that I've had in my particular place there's a couple of hundred What we call wise women in the Roman tradition people that are are herbalists and work with the land? And then there are. Some which are the blacksmiths that knows things as well. They're dwindling down in numbers. They're very pro their more. Predominant obviously Europe still than Canada. But those Romany blacksmiths have traditions as well that are dwindling down. So I'm just hoping that a a few you people will find the blood and be kindle their their estrangement to their traditions. It also bringing people Food that can benefit from these teachings and I am very glad that you've asked me to be part of your talk today while we appreciate you coming on and spending time with us and sharing these stories you have any other questions and concerns antunes. "Nashville and took her in Savannah and took me Ashville and the night saw old friends and made new friends along along the way and some cousin in Austin and had really good book signings in Tarot Slam sessions and that was really really fun little whirlwind tour But as for the next year I've been being guided to go back to Copay for some personal healing the My spirit lately has been in need of some solitude normally I'm very social going all over and co-hosting rituals and Going to parties and events in all these things but at this point after a couple of difficult years emotionally emotionally my spirit's response to take some solitude so I make plans to relocate to Hawaii Probably temporarily early and I do have job offers. They're already some potential housing stuff. So fingers are crossed big time for that to all align. It would be my first time leaving the might city in Montana to well Yeah it's also going to be a bit of a weather change an agenda so that sounds awesome. Yeah thanks the most difficult part is leaving the cats. But I know they'll all be safe here with my priests and with the community here But you know it'll work out okay. You can always face time with them. Yeah Yeah Yeah Contri- nothing like the AH trying to herd cats. I know how that works. Yeah you think think they can see you through the facetime and understand that. I don't the very least they can hear your voice and recognize that. Yeah yeah whether or not they recognize your face acer not. I don't know because I haven't actually tried it but I did. Actually I did a video and then I showed it to the cat and they were like wait. A minute completely. Confused all all those videos where people are using the and more thing were the snapchat or they put the filter Toronto. They look like a cat. Yeah that's that's freaked him out a little bit but it's funny though surf terrified how good they're getting is definitely creepy right. So you also are a freemason it a according to my notes here how. How does that tie into some of your other beliefs? masonry is great because it's an ancient brotherhood Housed becoming a better person. Better man in the case of Masonry of course as many many different branches and organizations that include all genders traditionally men so the teachings although they're often based in biblical teachings they they also go into the O.. Call realm although most Mason's wouldn't say that because most makes Christian yeah but there's a lot of you know fraternal local stuff. There which fluence the Golden Dawn influence WICCA and it's the Laima and everything And so yeah it. Just as good a ethical and moral values of how to be an upright person and I love the The charitableness of the organization. Of course there's all. The lynagh be conspiracies and things which are pretty silly person does accurate historical research understand that. The aluminum were actually Bavarian a very in German group of college. FRAT boys we're interested in masonry and then you you know how mythos forums Ilya it you say one thing and then one hundred years later. It's completely something different. Reason why it stuck out to me is actually have Freemason like grandparents or great grandparents. Excuse me My great grandfathers were freemasons. And I didn't learn about this until my mom sent me some of the belongings and all of a sudden wait. This is the freemasons book this is. This is one of their like. Did she not know what they were she did but she didn't tell me I'm not gonNA okay all right. I'm not surprised. She didn't tell me that she she sent me this stuff. I'm just like wait. What and then as I start my path because I'm time relatively walnut relatively new to this path is like wait a second? This is very similar so it was interesting listening to me that you had that on your list of things that you claim to Along with everything else Professional Tarot reader. Dj Vj. Yeah that's going to get to that. But he's also right. TJ which is pretty cool. Oh.

"There was potential for blowback but whatever that person had no business snooping and it gave me peace of mind to know that they weren't going off in trying to dig up dirt from what whatever it was. Yeah we're talking. I've been on facebook for over ten years now. Oh Yeah facebook since seven. Yeah so it's kind of creeped out about how much it's like. Become a part of our daily lives and if you go back to some of the old posts you can tell that they change how they do the post types. Yeah it's like Oh this makes no damn sense no yeah quite a bit changed. Yeah Since since I first started on their back in the mice based as though God my space in making your page play music and all of that stuff's gone if you still have a if you still have a my space page if you didn't delete it after it was relevant. No not after it was irrelevant after was hacked. That's right and there was a big data breach and so when that happened I went in and I had a page for myself. I actually had a page from one of my cats who had had a pretty fair following back then so head go in and retrieve all the photos and whatever else and then I deleted that and then with my page. I think there's still some something's up but everything that was on there before had nothing to do with me. It's when they reformatted the whole website. It's all gone well. The actually had a data loss loss. Yeah the the Crash some stuff and they didn't have backups. Yeah I was just like yeah. I'm sure I lost awesome photos and definitely some Like 'cause they used to have like blogs uh-huh so there was there was some stuff there that I'm kind of at a good riddance phase because it is that was During my party days and I want it to just own it was is a mess back then. Nobody nobody was born. Perfect no okay. Everybody says when you're born oh there are so perfect but in reality liberty nobody starts out in this life as being perfect and we all go through a variety of challenges which then hopefully we learned from and become better people. Ideally in theory and hopefully in practice. Yeah go yeah anyway. So family holidays. Sometimes all you can do is if you're already out and they're already a bit of a problem all you can do take deep breath but remember that it's not necessarily you especially if they're the ones that are at the antique stores and you do not have to. It's not like a mandatory thing you must submit an handle being you know. Harassed abused harangued whatever that goes for in person as well not just online. Oh that's what I was actually in person like if if it's a bad situation Shen in nobody's there to back you up and help you. There's nothing that says you can't stand up walkway right or you know if they're at your house and they're rating you like if they're coming visiting you in there they can visit the door it inside. The there are welcome. Believe Yeah because nobody has that right to belittle you and Falco with the holidays. You should be nice. Yeah but it's the holidays. Give and take their taste. Should be nice to in. I mean if they really WanNa get if you want to shine them on a little bit. Just remind them that you know Chris Mrs Based on you'll and okay now that's just being enter this because even though Christmas as it celebrated in the. US has deep pagan roots. They're not going to listen. No no or you could uh-huh flip on the Adam ruins everything Christmas special episodes he. That's just inviting conflict. I love that episode though I it's a great capacity aggressively. Go off and be like have it playing in the background when they show up. Yeah that'd be cool. That's right up there with the sitting WIFI password. Impeach Forty Five. Oh ooh went there. I saw that for me on Thanksgiving. I'm just like Oh that's right. I forgot about that. It was a mean mean for Thanksgiving and it was like Oh that could be visit the password or was it now WIFI password so they had to type it in on their phones to get on the Wi fi. Okay that's awesome. Yeah so it's just like that's that's that's great that that really is like the you pity me of like passive aggressive. If I view my facebook page a little bit like my home So if you come into my home and you act like a jerk. I'm going to show you the door. If you come come on my page and you act like a jerk you know show you the door right and we gonNA blog about it or podcasts about it. I mean we've had some people who've said some really blasphemous not blessedness incendiary comments on our posts inflammatory inflammatory. There we go. That's had a long day We have I have. I started at six. No no no I mean on the on the page. Yeah I'm like I'm I'm trying to remember. I'm struggling because there's a lot of stuff going on we've had some people that have off. Oh that's right. I forgot about that. We've had some religious people who've often called the Satan worshippers and it's like hockey worship somebody but he doesn't believe in. Yeah I don't really so I mean you Satan. Yeah I I mean we had stuff all over the place and we've had to remove and delete in band people. Yeah there is a handful of people. We had to ban after some random collection of people started showing up. But you know it is what it is. Don't even take a chance to listen to the PODCAST Austin. Learn anything. It's just. That was their attitude. That's fine and that's how you need to handle things too. Who I think is if somebody's going to be toxic and put you down? You don't need them in the aspect of your life. Life doesn't mean that you don't love them if they're your family it could hurt and you hope that eventually you know they Munich. Occasion comes around. There's an understanding and some you know. In in the best circumstances you hope for at least a mutual respect act and understanding and without you actually put a spell on post. Oh I did yeah it. It was something from llewellyn one of their spell a day. things yeah. It was for open communication. If I remember correctly open and honest communication yeah so definitely something to check out normally put a music video and then I was like you know what let's go ahead and put a thing being that I found so what is addressed to your Mistress prime ministers prime dot com. Okay I I didn't know if it was because I know it's hosted on wordpress dot com and eventually I want to move it off to the dot org side but Gotcha Okay Gotcha. It'll eventually Mosey. It's it's it's unwieldy it's very it's there's a lot there. Yeah so I have to figure out what it is. I want to do with that site but and I've only just started writing again for the last two years I've had writer's block I just haven't had the ability or desire to start writing anything. Well we've been in kind of a weird like this whole year has been just a weird on. The Sea has been weird. Yeah just all around and if you look at astrology at all like you start looking through and it's like no wonder I mean all the mercury retrograde that we had this last one we get an average of three to four Mercury Richards a year period. Because it's a smaller route around the orbit around the Sun Roy. So it's more common. It's the it's the big ones like Uranus and Pluto that have the really big long routes and so they're retrograde 's also so take a long time I think we're coming out of one of their retrograde. Forget which one though there was a whole bunch I remember. There was like several planets at one time in retrograde And you know some really I remember. It was like Saturn Jupiter and like all the larger orbit the planets were in retrograde. And I'm like seriously can we. Can we stop please. Well not well can go direct. Can we start moving forward so uh I felt like there was this long period of trudging through mud. It's kind of felt like trudging through like almost knee. Deep mud in a little bit of Mental fog I felt that quite a bit was not that old dude you. You can't be having that well. It was more along the lines of being burned out. Yeah that'll do it here. My my issue was burnt out. Yeah well the both of us are kind of similar personalities in the fact that we will take on a lot and We like to stay pretty busy so now this is true and then when you have unexpected surprise extra work all sudden adds to that but I want to. I think we're ready to wrap things up. I'm noting this time that we can cut. I WANNA yeah I wanNA get these guys calm down before kind of freaking out. Yeah so anyway I I just want to say that everybody. I hope that you have a wonderful holiday season. Whatever whatever you celebrate? Yeah I mean Saturnalia Or you'll winter solstice or whatever you know enjoy your Christmas even if it's a secular killer or Hanukkah or Kwanza Yeah I mean there are a click. Everybody just showed all holidays and one end of the year like spread out about all of that comes from I know why I was GonNa say it comes from the roots right so Yeah just enjoy your holiday today season and I hope that it goes well. We have a lot more coming up for you in the coming weeks and I hope that you enjoy what we are presenting. I would appreciate appreciate any feedback from our listeners. "So we had to figure out how we we're going to navigate the wedding with the invitations and even wrote a post about it but basically There was a section of the family that did not want to attend our wedding because it was a pagan ceremony and they were very devout Particular I I think a very conservative Christian I don't even know what kind just that they were very conservative and Choosing my words carefully and so they had said that they were. They were afraid that if they attended our wedding ceremony that they were going to be forced into worshiping some random demon Or another God or you know something they would be forced into having this horrible experience and so they didn't want to go and there's a there was a tiny welcome not so tiny. It was a form of manipulation and there were trying to manipulate my husband into putting me in my place which is hilarious right. Because that's not how my husband operates for one and into into he knew he was getting married to When we decided to get married so I wasn't going to happen so I wrote a blog post about it is what's even funnier? I wrote a blog post about this situation how frustrating it was because weddings are stressful enough. You add into it all these other elements of of people with their weird Expectations and issues. That are that surround wedding ceremonies and then throw in completely different religious perspectives to boot. And it just it got crazy. We ended up having to different weddings. I was GonNa say if I remember you ended. Uh having two weddings. Yeah but that there was a couple of reasons for that one. We wanted to get married on our anniversary and our one year anniversary was on a Monday and So we decided we only wanted a small ceremony for that so it was like his parents. His brother our wedding party Freddie his grandfather my dad and my dad's girlfriend and you guys were talking about renting goats for that. Weren't you know that was for the big ceremony. Gotcha where there was is like I think eighty people actually showed up. The invitation was like a hundred twenty people or something and But you know a lot of those folks like lived at state and stuff but That by the time we got to that ceremony that was like the hard core like in your face. Pagan ceremony MHM The first one was illegal. Hand fasting ran. It was still pagan But it was not like doing the full circle circle calling a quarter is calling in. You know we did a bloat to Odin and Freya Freya. Sorry Odin and FRIG and There was a lot going on and there was even some much more lighthearted elements to it to make it but not so tents But that's just me having done so many weddings over the years that I I knew what I wanted to do. So I added in some celebrity With humorous stuff like goats right or not having goats as it ended up being and protesters for that But so anyway before the first ceremony or maybe it was before the first ceremony. Honey I wrote a blog post about the problems with the family. Not you know digging the fact that he was marrying I I don't think they even recognize is the fact that their own son and their nephew. My husband was not Christian. I don't even think that really entered into their brain that maybe does non-christian family member. Probably doesn't WANNA take Christian ceremony so Anyway it got it got to a point where He got. He worked with his family so they pulled him in and had a conversation with him at work so then he had called me from work to tell me okay. It's drama at work and I'm like I'm not the one making the drama at work. I'm just you know the fact that they read my blog kind of freaked me out because I'm like. Why are you reading my blog? You crazy how well no. It's just I. I didn't really think that they paid me any attention. I still don't think that they really paid any attention. But anyway But after we got married that side of the family only kind of just stopped. We faded into the background yet. I'm hurt for my husband. Like I feel really bad. Because he was very very close with that side but he has a much more practical perspective of it. And I'm like that bites. Yeah it really does in to get rejected by your family and I get it. I already get it from my family. So but I've been dealing with it a lot longer than he had. Then I was Kinda like okay. This kind of hurts for me for you. I feel bad even though I'm no I'm not at fault for them. Having their weird feelings right so in the the end would it really comes down to as I've rambled on can't control what anybody else does. In that regard. You can only control how you respond and the situation respond or react and if people are going to be toxic if they're going to be unkind to you if they're going to be bullies harass you salt you put you down. You don't have to put up with it. You can step away from the situation nations and this is where where you were talking. Just because they're blood doesn't make them family. This is where I had some point for many years. Here's hosted a friendsgiving. Instead of having family Thanksgiving and I would take in everybody who didn't have family to go to for whatever reason even if the the family still existed and live down the street right. They knew that they could come to my house and have an enjoyable celebration of a feast with with people who just enjoyed having them there. Right and that's that's an important piece of it. I think is having people who want to be a part of your life and want to see you succeed. There are so many people who I don't have that family support and who have had family actively really the dog Oser they're just playing having some fun who have actively sabotage them on their path for various things? And just because you're family doesn't mean they can't be toxic in fact because is there family that could actually mean it can be a lot more hurtful. Yeah especially when you start seeing people People going off and talking about their family like their biological family or their adopted family. Or what. Have you Going off in. Oh this is so wonderful it kind of feels like rubbing salt on an open wound sometimes Especially for people who Don't have that option. Don't have that support so I think it's awesome. I see posts all the time about this especially around this time of year about family members. Who really well? If you don't have a family you're my family now. Right and part of me is like a heartwarming but another pardon me that just rips my heart out. Because it's telling me that there is so much hurt out there that people feel like they need to open their door like you have a friendsgiving that anybody who doesn't have family that they can go to eight can go to and it's just they are performing acrobatics behind me right now. Silly dog goes. Yeah but yeah I. I am holidays when I was younger. It was a totally different thing When my mom died then everything kind of honestly everything kind of fell to shit us us? We didn't see her side of the family anymore. Non Dad's side of the family was all the way all the way out in like the Mid West area so and then when he started Dating then he would go spend time with her family and her kids and grandkids. And that's totally cool cool for him so then I had to figure out a place for myself and so I just made a place on. That's sometimes that's the answer to is if you you don't have that support there are people out there that will support you. That will be that lifeline for you and I find find that people who are being belittling towards you if you ignore them even if even if it is hurting is getting under skin if you don't give them the satisfaction of seeing that don't give that energy there they show themselves out they slowly cut themselves out of your life not feeding that if you're not feeding into their because they're they're pulling at you yeah trying to get you to react so that maybe there can be some conflict or whatever and if you don't feedback any of that energy they they tend. Dick usually tend to go their own way. And it's it's interesting because some of the tactics that people a us are very similar to those. I've seen at like pride where you have the people who are standing out front again. Getting back into that RELIG- religious aspect. You get people out front. Who are in intentionally trying to do harm by using scripture to attack others and they do they claim they do it out of love? It's not very loving and as somebody who has studied the scripture you ask them. Is this what you're God would do. Is this something and they. I always go back to the Old Testament and I'm like okay cool. That was the Old Testament. Show me something from the New Testament and don't have an answer. They don't have anything. Yeah those two books are very different. Very very different also depends on which version you're looking if you're looking at the King James version or placate COMMU International. Those are. They're just they're very different. They're polar opposites On how to handle things and as somebody who studied at one point to be a pastor yeah there if you can only find references to something in the Old Testament sorry. I think you're making a straw man argument stinking pastor tyler. Yeah well my charisma. I do have some decent charisma that can move people. I could see you. I could not doing that. Ed Get completely different. Yeah but when it comes down to uh-huh handling family if you're not out of closet yet I think in closing we just need to go often say do an audit what it is is something that is for your best good in safe for you right. I mean again. There's nothing that says you have to come out like grandiose statement. I'm out of the broom closet arms. You know spread out like you don't have to You can tell as many or as few people's you like but some people will some people will still experience some blowback back and so then But like I said with my blog post it dealt with what was specifically online harassment And the best ways to kind of circumnavigate MHM navigate them. I- cutting them outs either Cutting them out with giving them less and less access. Yeah you did a really good job with talked about limiting in putting them into a separate group of like a privacy settings Because honestly I've had to do that. You know I've had to do the same There were things that I didn't necessarily want to discuss in front of my cousins. Okay and so I put my cousins in PG thirteen. So I I have a China norm list of friends lists that that kind of I like to put things in two different places I think so I have like a list. That's just everybody so that I can get around facebook's ace books weird choice of how they do. Their home feeds I don't WanNa see this stuff. I WANNA see chronological stuff from my friends like my actual friends is not you know random stuff that you've decided I need to see I But then I also have things that are like all the friends that I went to school with their little they actually have greater access than Like some of my family. They could see more stuff than others and then Each of my family's because awesome adopted I have my biological families mothers and fathers side and then my adopt aside mothers and fathers side and then my husband's side You know so. They're we're all kind of put into their own segments for a couple of reasons one. I could either limit their access or I can give them a limited or we're very particular view that everybody else doesn't get to see it. You can target those targeted There's something that's family related and I want people to know about it and only the family not like my long list of friends and business associates and stuff that don't necessarily need to see these things So yeah and then. Of course there's the the ultimate in the thing is about social media you do not have to have all of your family or co workers. Are Everybody under the Sun. They do not have to be your friend on facebook. I recently Black somebody who is slipping my facebook page is like why is this person showing up as recommended friend and for those of you. You don't know this. If you have somebody who randomly just shows up on your they have like no connections. There is no friends in common. There's there's no reason you should be either. It's usually because they've been snooping your page and so I recognize somebody like Oh yeah As the saying goes not today Satan is like I am not dealing with this so I blocked them and there's.

"I mean it's just a it's the story of the year in the NFL. Is what the Ravens. Now I think you hit on the coaching part. He's getting but what he's doing with that coaching the decision making and the boys that he's playing with to me is like to a whole `nother love. That's what's allowing him to go to hold a whole nother level because he is making great decisions. Asians under pressure and accurate throws great decisions and accurate throws are typically from guys that don't have the ability to do all that he does and he's doing all of the special plus making great decisions in the and I don't WanNa take this awful Lamar Jackson because I believe he is a phenomenal story in to me the best talent. We've we've ever seen at the position but I WANNA go back to John Halwa a little bit when you. We used to face the ravens year in year out and I love coach Tomlin and I thought he was one of the better coaches which is in the league. I felt the exact same way about John Haubert. I felt the exact same respect that I have for coach Tomlin when you go back to the Cincinnati Bengals game and he sits sits on the beach with Lamar Jackson. It talks about the kids that will be wearing his jersey. This is a super bowl winning coach. This is coach that have been has been in Baltimore for over a decade but to have that sort of humility and to understand what he's seeing. What type of person the Mark Jackson is? What type of a special talent he is? That helps you build something around him because because you have to believe in not only the player but the man and I think that's awesome for that coaching staff and their leader to feel that way do that when all these teams go camp every year they imagine what they can be right and the Ravens had had a big imagination. You heard John Harbach camp talk about changing the way. The game is played to see it. Come true true right. And now you're in the middle of the season and you're beating the Seahawks by Tush being the Patriots by two touchdowns you being the Texas by five touchdowns the rams right I mean this is basically not teams playoff teams and you got to be thinking to yourself that moment. Cincinnati where you step back and you go hand. This is incredible and the fact that they're enjoying it so so much together I it. It's great to see let's go beyond simply with the Ravens are doing on the field. I feel like we could talk a whole show. Just how fun. They are to just watch right now. To what extent could this team actually have a League uh wide influence on how team structure their rosters now. I do think that John's head coach is going to be looking at players. I think it's already begun the idea that you're going to look for a dual athletes have quarterback you can look at a guy that can run and throw okay not just sit in the pocket and I think that movement has already started is obviously started in college. I mean nobody in college is looking to have just pure pocket guy anymore. It's all about mobility so I think you're going to continue to see that. I think he's just accentuated and taking it to a whole `nother level. Well you know a lot of times things start top down right. The lower levels ten emulate what they see in the NFL. But this actually happened the other way. Like think about Pop Warner Ball. When you were go watch little league football they would always take the best athletes? It needs put him at quarterback and they let him run around and be better than other kids and then as he got older he may play in high school and then when they go to recruit them what what would they say. Oh this kid is going to be a wide receiver. He's going to be a safety he's going to be a backer. They tried to do the same. Exact thing with Lamar Jackson. The reason he went to Louisville is because they said he can play quarterback back and so. I'm not saying that everyone's going to change to do with the Ravens are doing because there's only one dude like this but there will be will be more open to finding in unique talent and building things around again. The lesson of Lamar Jackson will be not just go. Find you a running quarterback find you a guy who's played quarterback at a high level and succeeded in college college and knows how to rally people around the Moors all those things in addition to the spectacular stuff we see on. TV well credit to his high school coach his college coach and obviously obviously now John Harbaugh at keeping him at quarterback because it sounds like that was part of the challenges him what to do and obviously he's not just a good quarterback he's fantastic one inflatable noodle man is constant undulating. Entices people to look at me. Look at me. He's stylist and brainless a literal little pad curiously however the inflatable Moolman when hearing the Geiko not only saves people Monday but also has an award winning hand that makes it easy to manage. What policy he knows you should switch because yes to the GEICO is a no brainer stocks completed? We'll noodle man castle unpredictable creatures the NFL live the buffalo bills. Play on Thanksgiving for the first time in twenty five years. They're going to visit the Dallas Cowboys in a battle of playoff off hopeful. Bills head. Coach Sean McDermott spoke on the matchup. Earlier stay here. He is It's an opportunity for us to take a step another step This season as a football team and I think you know Our players are aware that you got a short week to prepare. So it's important that we talked at length and hear about getting rest rest and prioritizing what in how we WanNa do things this week and also being grateful for for Thanksgiving and all that we've been blessed with AS Roma are joining us now from buffalo is our bills reporter Marcel louis-jacques. We're also grateful for Marcel. So we'll lose. Bills often people to sustain their recent success against this cowboys day. Yeah and that's the plan Diana. The bills defense deserve gets a lot of credit for their eight and three start this season but over the past two weeks. The bills racked up about eight hundred fifty total yards of offense offense including four hundred and twenty four against a pretty stingy Denver. Defense last week at no coincidence that over the past two weeks prime debut offense coordinator. It's actually move up into the booth which he says allows him to see the entire field and relay more accurate messages to quarterback Josh Allen. Now I spoke with called Beasley bills wide receiver about the possibility of a shootout in Dallas on Thanksgiving and he said we're ready to do whatever it takes whether it's running the ball wither. It's scoring points especially after this outbursts the past two weeks. The bills are feeling pretty confident. Heading in this matchup and it actually means a lot more to Cole Beasley than The average player is well. He's returning to the team where he spent the first six seasons of his career and He said there's no ill will though that He's come to terms come to piece with his decision. He's happy here and he hasn't really thought much about it but he is ready to take that first step into the visitor locker. At and T.. Stadium I says things are all good because this is Thanksgiving week. It's a revenge game. We know it is for him or something so much and happy Thanksgiving to you guys. So meantime let's just take a look at his bill schedule Right so eight hundred three skeptics though so what has only four games against opponents that currently at least five wins right. So they've lost three of those four games with their only win coming against the titans team. That was still starting Marcus Mariota. The bills have played easiest strength of schedule in the NFL. So far so this this is just one of those things where I don't think any of us are really sure. Sometimes you want to say oh absolutely they can beat this team they lose to them as we just saw that they're so my question for you contenders or pretenders coach I want to start with I think the contenders I think they play really good defense. They run the ball well. And if the quarterback can continue to take steps forward. I think they have a chance to be good enough to score enough points to uh-huh surround that defense enough to win game so they're gonNA play ugly games. They're gonNA play tough games and type games but I think they do have a physical football team so I would sleep on real quick question for you You you heard his report. They're saying that Brian Cabell is going from Cochin calling plays on the ground up to the booth most recently. Why make the change now? Now what what. What do you think the theories behind a lot of times offensive or defensive coordinator like to see a top Vic Fangio for the first time in his career is there's no way he's spent his career up in the booth and he likes it up there so I think guys that have been in the booth see the game from from that angle? Obviously so he can see things that you can't down on the sideline and the communication headset is still so a Lotta guys like. I always liked being on the sideline myself. Yeah but I could see with the advantage for For David would be making that switch to see more so quick for era now I think contenders the coaches is right. The way they play defense will keep you in a lot of games and they have a quarterback that can do some things that are unscheduled getting outside of the pocket. And when you have that that you add to a running game you can win and bad weather. You can win in the playoffs. I think that this team has that chance. And you're already have eight wins. You get to more you expect to be the wildcard team at least AFC the way that AFC race is shaping up. It looks as if they'll be in the play off their chances of making it much much higher. Not The question is can they win games when they get there because they're going to be on the road as a wildcard team not gonNA catch the Patriots So we'll find. This is a good test. I mean Dallas People WanNa Bang on Dallas Dallas. Good team difficult team to play going into Dallas and Thanksgiving. If you can win that game I think you look a little different Dallas. Better get ready. I title time ourselves giving that report. This isn't going to be easy for Dallas Admiral especially with that defense we saw with the bills did against New England. Peter I it's not like the Dallas cowboys are beating a lot of world beaters. Yeah not all right. So Lamar Jackson got his thinking of other great Monday night because it was his big man. He put on a show like though Jackson in nineteen eighty seven. Two hundred twenty yard touchdown runs of Corden being tunnel. Run Ninety one yards Barry Sanders Ninety the future hall of Famer Rush for one hundred seventy six yards of course and then. Let's jump ahead already. Nineteen Ninety eight rookie wide out randy. Hey boss a hundred and ninety yards and a pair of touchdowns from fifty two and forty yards out against the backers. You guys good going tyrone enroll loop two thousand manning put up four hundred forty yards. In four touchdown and four touchdown passes and a forty three fourteen Robin Jacksonville his NFL record thirty. Five career games with four touchdown passes and last night. I think this argued topped along. The Ravens quarterback became the first player. To throw five touchdown. Touchdown passes on his Monday night. Football Day Hugh and of course after that game with the Ravens getting that big win their forty five to six emotions were were really hi there. So former. Ram Marcus. Peters engage in a verbal altercation with jalen Ramsey when the rams acquired only hours after treating Peter's away that's the back story well Leslie. Let's by Peters made his way up the memorial coliseum tunnel to the visitor's locker room hollering Kicking the rammed bubble ball goes in the direction of his former teammate. Look Lamar Jackson was a story last night but I don't know anyone surprised by this like I thought I thought that was a given comes with the game like Louvre Sore. Marcus Peters was going to have things to say. And if he had things to say towards number twenty he was going to say being back. I mean those are two dudes that and live their way and I always say this about certain people is some people I believe are active that that they are trying to put on a front to say this is the type of tough guy. I know other people who are really serious about in these dudes are uniquely. Bill and I'm not surprised that all that there was a disagreement between me to Remember juicer After the steelers.

Now I think about it but correct me if I'm wrong but we saw through New Mexico get into Arizona is pretty flat for the most part of. There's GONNA run to Mexico heading into Arizona. We hit flagstaff. And that's when we solve smoking everything Yeah actually I had to go onto twitter once. Go on right. Some four aspires nearby. "To bring it back to the floor of the covenant of the membership during Grand Council and discussed the issue and then we head to bring into vote so during it went very well but if it goes to vote this is a matter of process process if it goes to vote. Does that blocking member loops like as in if they're blogging based on the overall percentages as of the voting membership that is quorum of the grand council and those who are carrying proxies for. You're the blogger Jane Block. That was funny. Well then why would it go to vote. If they weren't blocking. I'm so confused. That's how it was the surprising factor one. The one individual who had the greatest concern was brought back react to the to the fronts of you know where the first officer was in the recorder wise and they were able to review the whole new statement the proposal and the changes that have been made to it and she had a greater understanding she was not one of the people that then voted to block it. So that A. K.. So really what it was. She completely misunderstood what the proposal was. She had a at the at the original onset when when they were expressing their concerns and they felt that it was more than what they could handle and they didn't understand you know they felt that it might be a burden financially to them. You know there was just too many misunderstandings. And they feel that they're in a region of the United States where things are just difficult right now and and it's because they're that's their perception and we have to take them at their word check but it's still has to be the overall intention of the Covenant to grow members even in their local council. So one of the things I will do when I go and visit is asked. How are we going to grow our numbers and this region you know? You're in a a large metropolitan area. There's got to be far more. which isn't wiccans in this region that would be interested in the covenant of the Goddess? How do we? How do we get outreach to those folks how do we bring them in? And how can we help empower you and your region to feel more secure more part of the common everyday world where you don't feel that there's negativity fifty towards us in some form or fashion. I agree just that's can't wait till you come out over the phone L.. Says there's five five local councils in California yes yes so that's like almost half of all the LC's yes the majority of LC's are in the state of California. That is correct. Are there still too in Texas. No there's only one local council in Texas okay Florida has one local council. Okay hills and rivers is in the lowest midden Pennsylvania Ohio West Virginia Regis Fars Understand. Yeah it it covers multiple state right right which is that's a large chunk of territory for council and that's it that's all we had? We've lost so many of vocal council so one of my other books is is actually to have some outreach. To former members of those other local councils that are no longer affiliated early aided with the covenant of the Goddess and they asked them how can we either bring you back in as members at an individual level. Or how can we re-stimulate and help you. Reestablish your local council and get it thriving again and bring new members in some of the can the national board award dude help Sula Tate. Those things to happen. Some of those are national numbers to they. Were in local. Councils moved to National Sean. Right so I know like Dogwood just recently went out in Georgia and it'd be nice to which was a Very old local council One that everglades moon was originally part of them. Hide off because the two states are so large especially overdone the majority of the which is in Wiccans and Florida live in the Tri County areas. That are all in the very south part of Florida so it made more sense for for Florida to have local council. I would like to see Florida. Have more than one. Local Council just like the state of California so space for them absolutely absolutely. There are lots of large cities the Orlando region could have a central local council. We could have a West local council in the Tampa Area Jacksonville's and large city again. There are witches wiccans throughout the Florida that We're not being able able to reach out to and tell them about the coming out of the car. This and maybe bring new members in. That's another concern that I have that I will reach out to the cups Organization with the Church in Fort Lauderdale. They have recently changed. Changed the name of the Pagan Pride. Event to the maybe Bonn harvestfestival. Let's say you're telling us and this was a little concerning. They did this last year and the numbers that Pagan Pride or horrible. And I think that if you're not really promoting something thank specifically Pagan Pride to encourage many people come out that you start to lose your viability in in the community overall. I think that it's important that I know the one of the gentlemen within that organization within the church a facilitates cops there is also a member of MLC. The and so I'll reach out to him and say what can we do to bring back the name Pagan Pride so that we can encourage more people to come because whereas if or the coming in the goddess is going to host booth there. It would be nice to be able to do enough outreach and meet new people and talk about what the coming out of. The Countess has offers in terms of membership so that we can hopefully bring on New People. I've got my job. Cut Out for me Teflon sells you have Tiffany any events that are coming up. Yes actually I have been asked by COPS to For My coven to be efficient of the bolt celebration in February. So we're looking forward to that. It's even nicer or more fulfilling. Now that I will also be the National First Officer of the Covenant of the Goddess to be able to do some outreach during that particular period of time and maybe encourage people to seek us out for membership in the covenant of the Goddess. It sounds great. I wanted to thank you again again for taking the time to speak with us. Do you have any social media or any sense that you'd like to help you just a yeah. "Open to membership ACOG. This is a small step toward. I think lowering the barriers for membership and hopefully eliminating some of the perception of membership in cog is just kind of an elitist club and the it's easy to be not qualified. You know ways that didn't have a real specific Grounding in what do we tell somebody I mean eligible for priests decrease piece credentials or elder credentials. Still mostly within caught up to your covent vouch for or your local council out for so you know. There wasn't an single objective standard that we could say to somebody outside. WHO's interested in an individual membership? CONCOC- here's what you gotta do. Right right was confounding and elitist certainly perceived that way. Even if it wasn't intended to be that way uh-huh I think originally congregated as a way to help ensure that the people in cog would know enough of one another to know that we could be safe together mm-hmm because it was formed at a time when the community was not predominantly out or even that it was very safe to be so an initial oh networking between coincides members often done through kind of high priests and high priestesses and so kind of were taken a long road to changing some of the original model of cogs organization and some of the practices of how you communicate keep between covens and how you know with one another because for anybody that's come up in particular. How many particular Wiccan Practices Trans? It's very clear that you don't just reach out to other covens stocks and the or make arrangements of whether or not someone visit for ritual nod or things and our community has grown beyond some of the conventions of how do we explored. Sheriff Practices Kisses There's a lot of open festivals. A lot of enter coven contact them. Ability between covens practices now and so we're slowly trying to see find ways in which could you help open up to the productivity. We think we need to. I think it's I think it's a wonderful change. I think a lot of the things that were discussed in. What little I was in Green Council. This time Was it was really good. So I'm looking forward to seeing how things develop over the next year. Thanks me too. And I'm I'm very hopeful for the future. I think I think it could go. "So the less isolated. We are the less fearful that we are though S. outwardly. Controlling trolling from inside. We are the more we can accept a co creative relationship that really is is kind of makes the answer of what is a ferry sere so some people you know pursue academics with a new perspective and vigor produce art that they never never knew cook before were made the chance to try. I might inform their teaching of their understanding of other traditions and it might be that they eh feedback into the physician. Community forms of in attempted leadership or assistance of the practices can be as well supported in a Ryan could be as supportive as we commitment answer very long answer but I it was complete answer. Yes there's a lot of information very ship so I mean I understood why you took the scenic route there again it. Thank you for the indulgence. Because I think the shortest way to answer it would remain A little too obtuse would do a service actually I also want to have some clarification for our listeners. When we say fairies not talking Tinkerbell you almost not at all not at all? We're not talking about the the Disney Representation Eh as as beautiful as that can be not as inspiring as to to quite a few people The way the way that's your ship sees he's the Fed is Basically really ancient being some of whom were around in the formation of the Earth Earth itself that are essential in the mediation of the in creation ongoing Chretien of the earth and that humans have And some fe have the capability of partnership with each other That will assist us but the fe or are not lighthearted hard to Disney animation's There's a number of kinds of Fayette mckinney get into a lot of distinctions as I already spun of Komo Very Superior And elements of it. But there's a number types of fe many do not want him in contact and whose main purposes are roles are seem to be their own role with the Krisha creation of the earth and and with each other but some fe are opened human contact and are interested in Basically a creative partnership So but they're not hearted They're really really not sure. If I fervently had to try and describe it before an easy terms so I would say that. Sometimes they are reclusive. They help in that cookie relationship with the earth. They are a part of some of the most Powerful energies of the natural world that they embody some of those healthier theorist express some of those and so they they are powerful beings that are not to be trifled with and the very contact means you can be accepted into partnership com- and what can be for many of us pretty intimate interaction. I don't mean to to the sexual way. The interaction in terms of the depth of interaction. An the the possibilities there are for having avenue into Partnership for Co creation that human sometimes otherwise. I'd struggle with a lot more. I can't say it's the only pathway tweeted Cook Creation. I think that would be pretty arrogant of me. But it's a fundamental one with a set of beings that are available to us and for but them human beings are essentially able to bridge worlds At least in part sometimes in ways that they don't naturally so a partnership allows for a broader aspects of creation. That if there was not a partnership like that the other set of beings and and fury teachings that have that bridge equality or trees which is one of the reasons I think way driven champion says the tree and that we have things to learn from trees that are a little different now exclusive to nature but and integration of it. That's really interesting and powerful. So Yeah fairies. I know I I tend to shy away from trying to be too descriptive so I think that the way see that. They present to different people have a lot to do with what a person can accept are sometimes what our expectations are so kind of like. They might be traveling to To See to see somebody that doesn't know them well. So how you present. An introduction reduction could vary a lot You know how they present to us ways that we could understand and accept because they don't live the way we do You are oppression. I think is that most of them are very long. "We own that we will wrought rails it but I was working for him. So it'll happen. It'll come out eventually. Both of whom I'm hoping there's they're studying this tiny. I have have the computer. That's with me right now. But it's not with me in this room but is with me on this trip. I can play so anyway And there's like things like lament for the queer dead which appears Whereas it music in the pagan folk of living and dying which is actually one of your books that you've written? Yes yeah probably the most significant one. Yeah I was GONNA say which I collected but I did the heavy lifting. It's true I didn't do already already meets coordinating recruiting and all I talk with Dr. Okay no ladies and those built boats right. Uh Sorry I'm late nightmare with someone. Introduces themselves to me as lady or Lord. Whoever then I'm lady nightmare but we don't do that? Particular Killer Trad did not okay. Yeah it's interesting. When you're navigating through the pagan community some members preferred US news lady and Lord with their as titles others prefer they don't have their titles expressed within the community outside of their? You're a particular group And then there's all the different names may be another Monday name that you don't know their magical call name but maybe you know their community name so you know there's and they generally choose which one they're going on using you know love discern normal using normal name and never reveal magical name and some are like me I i. I'm known by Maka because as I said I didn't. I didn't anticipate this being public. And when the opportunity came to publish the Big Book of living and dying which I feel very very good about I feel that was a excuse me. I think it was richest. Contribution again. As Samantha a lot of wonderful pagans wrote stuff. That's in there including sparky lament for the credit. As in and so I had a choice of what name I would. Publish it under. Since is is a pagan. I was known as market and it was a pagan publication. I figured that I should use the name by which people knew me. 'cause they'd say I am. So that's that's how I that's how I got to be using it publicly and I sort of I'm sort of Sally. Was it now. I would know anything about that in said well. I mean the mistress prime part comes out of my email address and it was a screen name but then it got it utilized When I was doing a radio show and then became my brand because on online everybody knew my screen it and now it's like well do I do a use my mundane name for things or drug use my mistress prime minister so it I just go back and forth between the two? There's no way to untangle them on the Internet in rest of the world but more often than not. This is the name that people remember much faster Western. It's cool name it's in slightly nerdy. I mean realized well maybe tech people thirty but from me from the outside look school. It doesn't look I mean I wouldn't recognize it as being nerdy. It's from the transform. I'M GONNA lady sorry but I think they're a little vigorously take apart right. Yes yes the ones that ours. Robots robots car. I think so. You'll have Emma Watson disguise. Yes but in order in terms of names when I was working with Cherry Hill Seminary of course and as I have done a lot of things with teacher turn US Department Chair and I forget what else but I was a couple of other things and then I moved onto the board of directors for for complete years now on the board of advisors with the likes of Ronald Hutton. which it doesn't really mean? Anything just looks good there. They give giver of approval of what you're doing essentially it's a reputation thing but it's cool anyway. I was when I us on the board chair of the board. I started using aim. Aline O'Brien because of the efforts to accredit get accreditation and I thought it would be really not I thought it would be detrimental to apply for accreditation when the head of the board is named Mark Nightmare so I started to use my name name. That's why I figured it had some legal reasonable. Not so much of it kind of is a legal reason right to to use your your mundane name versus your community. But I'm not known by Monday name for the most part except for friends and relatives but even in interface. I'm called Maka right for the most part I mean as somebody who is your brand's Diane Darling I told you can't change it brand. Yeah you're kind of stuck with it so That's what I can tell you about some of Cox's history. If that's what you were interested. Well that was definitely enlightening. I I was actually planning to ask their stories. Have nobody knows his stuff. I'm not all your their secrets but because never has so. I'm pleased that you're curious to hear these stories as somebody who's kind of looking. AH KONG IS A. I'm very into the path them tempted to start the process to apply them. What what's the history here and there? There isn't really a whole lot of into here from somebody who experienced it firsthand. It's always very awesome. It's checkered histories exchequer. Quite a bit and I hope you do it even so still hanging on my so. Tell me if somebody asks you what is called offer. Well well I'm the one who came up with the phrase assuring Pagan Rites since nineteen seventy five because I think that that's exactly what caucus on for the most support first of all they they have longevity so say since nineteen seventy that's for a pagan organization that's a long time whether it's always been thriving different story but it's survived and Sh I sit assuring because that's what we worked for Congress on a lot of interface with Police departments law enforcement and with a military and with a reporters orders journals so to you know about misconceptions about the craft. Basically sometimes there's a big crime involved invent found you Tara. There can the person's house use a little more extreme than that but they find some items and ask someone died in the saloon. They get scared so so. We have established good relationships with them and then interfaith itself started to grow. Yes I mean. It didn't really get Ron COBB was a man. A member of a group called the Bay Area Interfaith Council which I think is probably defunct now? Oh but during the pool but is it really necessary always other things sure but The got really into interfaith in a serious way from time of the nineteen ninety-three parliament of the world's religions he w R dot org and the parliament. You want to hear about the history Portland a little bit. You'RE GONNA share it please. I told you hang lots of say. Oh please I am. I only have been to one but in eighteen ninety three there was Chicago world's fair which probably Pennino with Ferris wheel address and stuff and they convened an organs they convened convene a plenary of some kind called the I was a panel or something. The parliament of world religions was a arm. I guess I don't know how you describe it. But it was part of the struggle. It's fear and one of the people who came to speak with David Kanda. We're talking one thousand nine hundred eighteen thousand nine hundred eighty since that time. A Western thought and Eastern thought religious thought has been we've been receptive to both. Yeah it became known in the United Stations Yoga studios on every strip mall but that was unheard of before and bray any any kind of exposure to eastern religions and Western was used to each other so it had a great effect and in Nineteen ninety-three while before ninety three because get planned but Cardinal Bernardine. WHO's Lay Karnal? Chicago wanted to do centennial. And so they did a centennial and that like cracked everything opened was great there was lots of which is paying Indian headdress native Americans in headdresses and just felt suffices. was there a whole lot of groups. The Earth community has a choir called mother time. They're really good and they did a concert. And other several people get papers brandy any Williams who's WHO's Covers Properties Kovin proxy..

"That's Kinda if you am. I too Americanized to that. The two United States too Americanized so. I'm not really one of them right but that that also I would like to go there. I would definitely love to go to Indonesia Asia once before I die but I don't know I never make it. I'll think of you okay but but I still identify myself as an Asian. Listen yes they should American right and and that's the thing that so you know I was adopted and my adoptive mother was was Philippino from the Philippines and my adoptive father was a Polish dude from Detroit and I I had always kind of As an American child not very accepted from my mom's side of the family because I was to American Are Even in the seventies. My behavior being in the Philippines was definitely California. Kid American American child and a lot of her family. Were not particularly fond of me. They thought I was a little spoiled. It maybe I was. I mean they're like was vastly different than mine but growing up. I always felt I identified as Asian American. Even I am. Asian is just. My Hawaiian site is significantly larger. But I don't have any Hawaiian upbringing right. You know. I didn't have other Hawaiians in my school that I can kind of chill out with and connect with in any way so you know I just have always identified culturally Asian. My only connection growing up to Indonesian culture was the food the food culture. I mean. 'cause we eight Indonesian and food which is very similar to Filipino food. Very in many many quite a bit. Yes well you know yes There to go back far enough in time I am. Of course the people have Philippines Indonesia. Were actually the same people in language to know because when I hear Indonesian speaking for a moment I'm like are they speaking and then I realized there not not that I understand Tagalog really well but it recognize it. 'cause my mom would speak to her mom and her family and I would hear hear it. All the time never understood what she said but you know I heard it a lot growing up so when I hear somebody's speaking Indonesia for millisecond. I'm like hey it had the same experience at where I work because in the office where I work we have quite a lot of Filipinos working in our counting and it departments and someone's wondering where the they'll start speaking to other like. Yeah just have that moment of. Hey wait a minute on what sounds like all your Yeah so Have you ever experienced anything within the community the pagan community where you felt take any any anytime anytime you had a moment where your ancestry came into play somehow within the pagan community negative or positive that make sense yes toward of what part of the problem is that because I don't look Asian enough sure I mean you could kind of blend in a little when I was younger. I was actually much darker and I looked much more. Asian the older I get the Paler array guests and probably from from age and working in office indoors. All the time in the sun is right. That's right a lot of it does have to do with that My brother on the other hand is really dark and he well he works. He works in doors but he's outdoors for cycling and things like that a lot is it's really dark so he'd definitely looks more Indonesian than me. Okay as far as a lot of people. It's funny when I I got involved with like the pig is of Color Caucus. PNC account. When I came back to cover I was telling you about that one? The people in the group looked at me. He said you're picking Color Code. I said yes. What color wow? That's a Asian Asian and this is somebody who had known me for like twenty years and and and he did not realize that I wasn't white if it makes you feel better when I first met you I recognize Asian. Okay thank. It's not that hard to identify. But I mean I guess people who aren't around different cultures much CNET wrecking. Your office has done bull. The stir coming remind office has tons of different cultures in my office. Yeah but that's the office mm-hmm but that's actually funny. Years ago. I went out on a date with this guy and it during the course were conversation. He looks looking really funny. said I thought you were black. What yeah I thought you were a light skinned Negro grow show and he was from Canada I he said he confessed that until he came to Los Angeles? He had never eaten Chinese food. Well he never living under a rock and I miss talking about like thirty years ago so it was a long time ago so wherever he he was growing up in Montreal. You never saw black people at the time so interesting so So that's talk about me. I had an interesting experience at Panzi. ECON this year. Okay I I intended go to this workshop on some kind of arts and crafts. I don't even remember what it was and so I went into the room. I thought was the right room and I saw crystalline couple of the people setting up little altered. Ethel Room maybe not and then The swimmer was was sitting next to me and law. I guess those people decide to shelve after all. Let's see what do you mean those people you know people of Color and then shoots or looked at me and said that I swear it's like a double take like I said yes. I am a person of color and I'm here to she was she turned purple uh-huh but then I discovered that was actually the wrong room. The workshop was actually and that was kind of funny because it was actually another so so I apologize crystal. I ran out at Rome room but still it was. It was like that moment when she looked at me like so weird. Yeah I I have heard. I heard from a handful of other people who have experienced a situation similar to that at Pantheon in in recent years and it seems to be more we'll say pronounced but I definitely hearing more incidences that they're very specific appointed that her overt issues of racism. I don't personally feel that the event overall deliberately like I don't feel like a Pantheon supports that no it doesn't I it's just there. You're occasionally individuals who can't seem to pull their heads out of their butts over there in the process so now I don't know I don I love go. Depends the account. Always have a blast there and I never feel any overt racism. mm-hmm there but microaggressions. Yes yes I have heard people say that they've had over Incidents but more often than I do hear a lot of microaggressions snap That sucks I didn't realize I when I went to This year I think we did. We arrive late. I don't remember what the deal was. We had arrived and then I was looking at the schedule. And I'm like okay. I gotta go and I made a beeline. Because I saw the carcass was done next thing on the docket and I wet somewhere and that was not where I was supposed to be. That was not the right stuff around. It was hard to keep track. They had moved it and then I went to another room and then I was like I was in to run rooms before I finally got to the correct still there on time. mm-hmm and I think went happening is one of her. People took a little bit longer to get ready than L.. We were delayed. Yeah yeah there's four of us in a room so whatever I had a great time it was excellent there. Yeah I had a good time overall at Pantheon with fire drill the fire. Yeah that was the only other thing that I think was not mm-hmm we didn't even know about that. Yeah we were up in a friends room and we didn't even know is gonNA the win. I somebody had pulled the fire alarm or something They were concerned about protests and there were concerns about other potential Issues going on with some. What's the word I'm looking for potential.
