Fresh update on "pittsburgh" discussed on My Family Thinks I'm Crazy

"Boy tyler. Saint thomas saint yup. We're we're from the down. The rabbit hole podcast. Yeah exactly. i was honored to be a guest on their show. Once a now here they are joining us on the my family. Thinks i'm crazy. Fee for swab cazin. If you're listening from the down the rabbit hole feed already. Nice to meet you. This is the the awesome thing about doing the spot cast but yet guys. I'm excited to get into it today. I'm just rolling something up right now. I'm coming off of a little with my better half towards the layline we've been tracking this layline here in connecticut. Have you guys looked into lay lines at all. I have a little bit. I think there is one that goes like just over pittsburgh which is where we're at. Where about half an hour. North of pittsburgh up the ohio river and i think there's one rate is i think you guys are on the forty first parallel. Yeah it's the fortieth parallel. Give me me my math. Tear on the board there. Pittsburgh's fortieth and i know your boy. Mike von talks a lot about the fortieth parallel harold. River legend is. I just started a new podcast with them. Called your handbook for the apocalypse. So yeah Yeah you guys are on this map all let me get. It's yeah we're over on the western side of pa. He's focused on the eastern side. We're doing good trying to enjoy each day living in this ever expanding now as you like to save one day at a time you guys are definitely on some sort of alignment. But it's not the forty first parallel. Got that wrong. But you're on your right in between the forty. First in the fortieth paring. Ray which since you brought up michael juan you'll know that his whole Book is called the rights of the fortieth parallel because the fortieth parallel goes through lancaster. Millersville goes through philly. So yeah very interesting stuff. Have you guys out. Been out to that. Side of pennsylvania much. I only have been there twice. I've only been in philly once. And then i was up in near near lancaster. Area touring colleges back. When i was in high school. But it's beautiful over there man. There's rolling hills and it's just you can really feel the energy. Yeah we went down there at the beginning of august. But really mike and all of his work inspired me to go and look into you know my own backyard and checkout connecticut. Which is why we went on that trip today. Have another map over here. That i drew out myself last night where we found the layline and it's not easy because there's only like one book that talked even talks about this lay line and we just synchrony mystically happened to find it on the line in woodstock new york which is pretty much where the line goes through. But yeah if you guys want to check this out. I'll probably put this on my patriot for people to see so. If you're listening check out. Try to get that as close to that can. But that's where the layline those through a through the sort of like you know. It makes like the southwest corner of connecticut. Kind of like its own peace. You know right but it goes through fifteen different towns. That's the writing on there and yeah it's amazing. How many interesting spots happen the lineup on that line. There's to start with monta which young guy snow. What's going on at montauk. And that's montauk on the forty first parallel. So that's the beginning of it. Then it goes into westbrook connecticut craw across a little harbor called indian town harbor and then it goes in to a town called killingsworth and then from there goes through a bunch of different towns..

The Investigation Into Wisconsin's Election Is More Critical Than Ever

"Of the 25 grants CTCL provided to cities and counties in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia, that were a $1 million or larger, 23 of the 25 grants went to areas that Biden won in 2020. One of the two counties won by Trump, Brown county Wisconsin, received about 1.1 million that's less than 1.2% of the 87 and a half million that CTCL provided to those top 25 recipients. But even in Brown county Wisconsin, where heavily Democrat, Green Bay is located, the funding disparities are glaring, the Wisconsin legislature provided roughly $7 per voter to the city of Green Bay to manage the 2020 elections, rural counties in Wisconsin received approximately $4 per voter. The CTCL funds boosted Democrat voting Green Bay resources to $47 per voter while most rural areas still have the same $4 per voter. And similar funding disparities occurred near Detroit, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Flint, Michigan, Dallas, Houston, and other cities that received tens of millions of dollars of CTCL money. I think what's important William to remember here and to point out is what happened in the areas that did not get CTCL funding as I understand it from your study from your research, the numbers stayed pretty consistent, very consistent to what happened in 2016.

US, EU to launch consultations on tech regulations, trade, China

"First s. e. u. tech trade summit starts today secretary of state antony blinken commerce secretary gina raimondo and us trade representative. Catherine tie will sit down with their european commission counterparts. In pittsburgh the talks are meant to address trade issues around technology including data governance rules and securing supply chains to offset the rise of china and russia. But our reporter. Dan michaels says some issues. Maybe thornier than others. It gets a lot more complicated when you get into specific regulations and how each side overseas these things so for example the eu is much stricter about a personal data than the us. The us has more government surveillance microchips or another area. There's a desire to cooperate because the past year or so has shown how reliant both the. us and europe are on both china but also friendlier places like taiwan and south korea. And there's a desire to develop some independence but what that actually means isn't so clear because us wants the us to be strong. Europe wants europe to be strong so figuring out how they both gain without one losing out to the other. It's it's it's a little dicey

It would be really really surprised. Eric doesn't play unless unless you woke up monday morning and it was really bad. He didn't went back on it after he got hurt. It was really wild because when he got banged up after that touchdown pass to moro. Hit look like holy. I mean guys around him. It had the it was a scene of something bad. It works like christmas eve. Two thousand sixteen and as with brands as we of course working by the job i can do on game day. Who cares about my day my week. This team seasons change and then he gets these cool tough guy under atef guide her player. Course any finish thing look good remember. This guy got hurt against the chargers and then played against the dolphins nine days later. I think he's gonna play again. Don't take that to the bank. Just my gut feeling at this point. It's tuesday afternoon things can change. But i'd be really surprised they're occurs. Maybe just jacobs dozen but things are things good. Thanks good words may be pregnant. You know i think interrupts where he's gonna be you know eighteen games into his career idea define him. I don't know. But i think he's going to be a guy who's not going to be a number one who's gonna be inconsistent is disappear some games but there's also going gonna be times when he makes really big points and we've already seen that we side against pittsburgh. Is it worth the number twelve overall pick. I don't know but there there's some value there I think we know who is going to be but yeah it was a really exciting when they played complete football and they deserve to win that game. It looks like i don't know if i'm completely sold on the defense my head to see more but going pretty good. Everything is going really good and the raider nation right now. I mean really really good yes injuries. We're talking about that but there's injuries everywhere. I mean the raiders have been the less injured team in both these games. But don't apologize for but things are going really well offense scoring playing well derek cards point. Mvp revel for you know early stages Defense looks timely. Pass rushes their coverages. They're young guys are coming into their own. I mean it's going really freaky well. The chiefs last. The chargers lost one of those two teams is gonna lose this week because they play each each other. The broncos are a fraud. I think things are going freaking. Well they have two wins against. They may be in the playoff line. Things you go and freaking. It's unbelievable.

Interestingly enough he called it the day that these the polls came out that canadians gave him very high marks on his vaccines distribution. And they should have. They have the best vaccine distribution as a country in the world however they did not like that. He decided to call this snap election. Why because first of all there's very strict lockdowns in in canada. And so they believe that he was. It was irresponsible for him to do in the middle of a pandemic after being lectured forever about not doing anything and all the set now he wants everyone to go out and vote and the reason he wants everyone to go out and so is because he had he had High marks in the polling but You know that didn't transfer that didn't stay because people people look at it as like you're doing this because you want a majority government.

The youngest victim was sixty nine. The oldest rose monning was ninety-seven all of those who died. Were members of the synagogue's congregation. This was the deadliest attack ever on the jewish community in the united states and took place the time of rising antisemitism as well as increasing levels of hate crimes against other groups including african americans and muslims in the us four days off the shootings the secretary general of the united nations antonio cherish honored the victims. At new york's park east synagogue. He denounced the mass shooting as a horrendous act. And as you just heard noted that antisemitism is the oldest form of hatred to have endured in human history. There's a big jewish population score hall. So is easy for me to stay really close to my jewish roots. I went to jewish preschool. Jewish elementary school. I spent my summer is a jewish summer camps. Why on the swim team. Kenny werner is a high school student in the squirrel hill neighborhood of pittsburgh the shooting the tree of life. Synagogue was a home away from home for her and her family. By the time. I was six or seven years old. I'd be able to run around that synagogue tree of life in just do what i wanted. We felt safe. Although she wasn't in the line of fire on the day of the shooting her mother malla says that the family has struggled to come to terms with the attacks. "Get news that a deal has been agreed to in principle. Not sign but agreed to between. T. j. watt and the pittsburgh steelers. This was first broken by ian rapoport of the nfl network was also adam schefter. Espn that they have the deal in principle. I think they just have to put pen to paper. But it's agreed moving forward. Here's the deal. It's a four year extension worth just over our right around just over one hundred and twelve million dollars for tj. What would this has him as the highest paid defensive player in football now you can manipulate the numbers one way or the other to say how much it is per year. We'll get there all right. It's basically he's just over twenty eight million dollars per year from that extension and there's also eighty million dollars fully guaranteed at signing. Now we'll get into that in just a second but first i want to understand that. This is an extension so this goes on top of the deal that he already had for this year which was playing under the fifth year option where he was set to make ten points. I'm going from memory. I'm pretty sure it's ten point. Oh eight nine million dollars this

LaVar Arrington Makes Case for Steelers, Ravens Making the Playoffs Over Patriots

"Restart the rookie taking the pats to the playoffs. You agree with him patriots. It pains me to do this because so many people are on the positive train of of mack jones. But i just don't see him leading up to the playoffs. I don't see them being a while. If i'm looking at it from a critical critical perspectives Just i think that you can't count out the ravens to win the division for for one. You can't count out the steelers ever because it's just not on the record book. Their their resumes says that they win. under my tomlin. So you can't just write that off and say that the browns are going to be the division chad's it looks like it lines up for that because they have injuries and baltimore. They had age issues in line issues for question in pittsburgh but nonetheless. These are still a big brothers on the block. And until cleveland proves that you'd have to assume that cleveland could be a playoff team but could ultimately slip into being one of those wild card teams as well. So when i look at what what the patriots are going to have to do. In order to qualify. I just i see teams more teams that make more sense to make it to the playoffs this year. Then a rookie led new england patriots team. To look for that people may not be discussing right now. I wrote them down. Or the broncos make sure you pay attention to the broncos. Steelers LB T.J. Watt Still Not Practicing With Team as Week 1 Approaches

"Have sneaky big news coming out of pittsburgh. This is bad and it. Serious steelers superstar linebacker. Tj what is declining to practice. This has been getting very little attention. He's been sitting out since the start of camp wants to contract the steelers having given him one and it's almost impossible to quantify just how good this guy is. He comes off a season in which he led the league with fifteen sacks he had the best pass rush win rate sport meaning. He beat his blocker within two and a half seconds. So he's a superstar. This is a guy. many people are being. It'd be the defensive. Mvp and jeff. Can you explain because again. This is not getting as much attention as i think it should be. Exactly what it is going on there will let me explain why to you just mentioned. Tj watt has been sitting out. he actually hasn't and that's what makes this. Such a weird scenario. Is that because of the fines that players face for a holdout now mandated by the players or not sitting in essentially so he's been going through practices in individual drills but then sitting out team drills and there was sort of. I think there's lingering expectation that that would change once the regular season arrived. It hasn't now mike. Tomlin is scheduled to address the media today. Maybe we'll get some more clarity on what it would take if the team perhaps plans to suit them up anyway on sunday even though he's in team but no doubt a fascinating situation with this added layer the steelers on the fact. They do new deals with players during the regular season. So this doesn't get done before sunday. We're in new territory when it comes to the pittsburgh steelers and negotiations with players.

"Ag again my promo code is kevin dc. I so you probably know this. What the washington games down to six and a half in fact i'm gonna pull it up right now to make sure that the sites that i frequent including mybookie and gambit and all others that that's where it is right now yes six and a half is the line. I can't find seven anywhere. i'm not giving washington out. I give them out as a lean if you force me to play the game. I'd play washington plus the number. There is a shitload of of sharp money on washington in in this game. This line at one point was ten ten and a half. You know it's the steelers on the short week. It's the health issues with pittsburgh. It's the fact that for them to non conference game. It's not as crucial as some of their games coming up washington's playing well but I did talk to somebody over the weekend. And i said why the big drop and my guy told me. He said a lot of sharp's love washington right now. They think they're a good team So that's it plus six and a half if you are going to play it by by the half point two plus seven. The smell test added play on a six six weekend. Is san francisco minus one lot of sharp money on the forty niners lot of public money on buffalo. I'll take the forty niners. in In an extra smell test pick like washington. I would lean washington but the official play san francisco and kalihi. If you look at the forty niners they really now have a chance you know with the seahawks losing with the cardinals. Losing to the rams the forty niners of already beaten the rams once On the year actually twice they swept the rams they got a chance here to make a run not just that a wildcard spot but to make a run at the division and for them it starts tonight if they can beat buffalo they look at washington the cowboys in the cardinals before finishing with the seahawks would give them a chance to actually make a big run back into contention in the nfc west and certainly in the wildcard races. Well do you like either. One of these games i do. I don't really want to pick either one of these games. Because i actually like buffalo okay.

"I'm not saying he's even gonna get fired. I is going to be open at the end of the year. You might be eagles getting close to find peterson. No that you've maybe another four have been fired so far this season i will bet you right now. One hundred bucks. A jay gruden does not get a head coaching job in twenty twenty one. I'm going to take that bad okay. i'm good day and then you agree with me. You don't. i'm i agree with you. But i feel less strongly about it than you do. Not have to bet you one hundred dollars okay. Well i mean. I don't think that jay will get an. I'm convinced he won't get one twenty. Twenty one is a possible. He could get another opportunity down the road. Maybe and you know the thing. Want another one. I don't know if he does or doesn't you. You can answer that. I know right. It's what he really loves and he's good at. He's clearly li like you just said there on their fourth fricken quarterback and they keep moving the football against everybody I just think that open fought for. Head coach fisher. Yeah the the one the one thing he has going in his favor is that for whatever reason when it doesn't work in washington they blame. You know they blame the franchise not the coach more times than not When we get one more spot real quickly and then we'll come back. "Playing against an excellent team. That's the first way that really good football teams. We'll beat you if you're an average team so make you make mistakes. You'll make them. You'll get yourself behind and and that's where i ended it. I mean pittsburgh has the best turnover margin in the league. Dave their number one and takeaways even though they've only played eleven games and most of the rest of the league is played twelve. They lead the league in takeaways with twenty three on the year and a game Where you have have to almost hit the inside straight. And i wouldn't say it's the inside straight that it would have been you know a month ago. I think that they are capable of playing a really good game. But they aren't capable of overcoming a lotta mistakes and that gets back to protecting alex smith and making sure that when he does by the way i am just thinking about this when he does have to throw if they are in third and long. You're going to have to throw your throw some screens. You may have to run the ball on some third nines. Get yourself in into those situations. Because that's when they feast in even without duprey they still t. j. watt. They still have you know playmakers in all across the field defensively But this is. This is one of those games. You don't feel that way against the bengals. You don't necessarily feel that way against the cowboys you end up in a minus two situation against pittsburgh it's twenty seven to thirteen. That's the fine. That's the best it'll be you know so it's gonna have to be A a super clean game all the way around at heinz field by the way you know feel goals in kicks become a big issue. They missed an extra point with boswell against baltimore. Hopkins has had a difficult time kicking this year. He's near the bottom of the league and field. Goal made percentage. You know if you think this is going to be a red zone defensive game and we've got to great red zone defenses here in this game you gotta make every kicked that you have a chance to make when you cross the other teams forty yard line. You gotta come away with three. You know it certainly when you get inside the other teams thirty seven thirty six yard line. You've gotta come away with three. It'll matter in this game. You know if if we both believe that. It's defensive game that could be in the seventeen thirteen twenty two seventeen range you know. Nineteen sixteen range of different talk and flails. No you're talking about maybe not necessarily going for it on fourth and fourteen from the fourteen right know who's for. It was sports and thirteen fourteen. I think it was. Yeah. that's one. Oh no quizzes. Let's get no win the game. That can't have any quiz. Look i mean seriously though quizzes no quizzes the more you said it the with with some of the stuff with ron early on it. Maybe he should should've taken a leave of absence and maybe it was that he didn't really believe in this team at that point is believed in the process. Some of the stuff. You look back at an early with out of control so the gay men's in the first four weeks and some of the initial like that was at least one game this season he gets on him at least one game this season. So let's not having on him. Yeah i mean. I and i don't think it will be but you but that is funny because we don't need your you now. Es these games if you have any chance of winning you have to go fort we would prefer no late game quizzes We would prefer using a taking no timeouts on the plane with us if we're down late Yeah those things absolutely matter I a text tweeted me. And i read this tweet earlier in the show and i'm looking for the guy's name Stretched mark mark or tweet me so there. You go rivera's decision to go for two against the giants cost us the division this was after the giants. Look neither one of us believe that it was the right move in context. We thought that it would have been advantage. Washington had the game gone to overtime. But the conversation about this going for two at the end has now turned into. They absolutely would have won the game. Had he just kicked the extra point. That's not true either. you know. They wouldn't have actually gone and played the overtime anyway. Even if he had made the right decision and kicked the extra point with hopkins hopkins in made it. They would have said. Hey get out here. For the coin flip we're gonna play the overtime even the washington's fan base thinks the game's over now. Because ron made the right decision doesn't mean that he would have won the game. It was the right move to kick the extra point because they had all the momentum you know at the end of that fourth quarter but it's not like it costs them division. I think you know what will ultimately cost the division more than anything else. Is starting dwayne haskins in the first four games and.

"Way that you know you're going to win this game yet. That makes sense. Yeah that makes total sense like twenty to seventeen seventeen thirteen. It feels like one of those kinds of games if you're if they're gonna be in it and have a chance to win it My number two is it really just adds to what you brought to the table on friday. Show which is that. This is in many ways. Scott turner game like he's going to have to prove it against the best defense that he's coached with a quarterback that he likes since the rams game. Now we started that rams game. With kyle allen and allen got hurt and we know the rest of the story but you know since they started to sort of get it together offensively. This is the first legitimate big time defensive team that they're playing and i want to see him. Do you suggested you know he needs to do you know Move on You know change play call against tendencies recent tendencies but continue to figure out a way to get the ball out of alex smith hands and into the hands of playmakers in space. You know. I think that. I personally think it would be very. It'll be very difficult to run the football against pittsburgh. I think if they banging their head against that wall. They're gonna be too many pundits in this game. I think they have to do what they did. against the giants in that first game in the meadowlands is used. Some of those quick throws run extension. Throws i'm getting the ball out to gibson and mckissic in maclaurin and logan thomas and anybody else. That's on the field with a chance to get yards after catch to move the chains It'll be interesting to see how he does it. I'd be surprised if they ran the ball. Effectively against pittsburgh You know were catching pittsburgh in an odd position. You know short super short rest. Banged up You know not a division game for them at a conference game for them at the same time you know tomlin lynn to them after the the the last game in such a way that i don't expect them to come out flat either but scott turner's got a scheme up first downs and has got to do in the process. He's got protect alex smith. Because i'll get to my last point here shortly. But alex smith cannot Sit back there and think he's going to have enough time if he doesn't it'll be a long day and potentially a very ugly day and to me that's going to be on scott turner and playcalling to help avoid those situations. Yeah i'm i'm really interested in scott turner this week. I do. i like your key. I didn't put it into my key even though we talked about it on friday. Because i don't know if it's the way they're actually going to win this game it is or the i. I don't know the easiest way to win this game. But i think if you count you come out and all of a sudden pittsburgh stone. What in world going on here. Turner's got him going. I will be really really impressed. Don't expect it but it'd be fun to see my last key to the game is that you can't make stupid mistakes throughout the game in multiple levels that you can't give them easy place you can't have a drought passed up in the air then ends up being a pick. Goldman had one of those by the way. Evan ingram batted one up in their early in that ball game right. You can't have a fumbled punt. You can't have a stupid penalty on a big play on a special teams run back. You can't have missed field goals in game. If there's a chance to get the ball out on a sack you gotta get the ball. You know no personal fouls this multitude of silly mistakes that can be made in football games and you really have to limit those when an average team.

"Although they had some very creative things in the game plan but pittsburgh is read a middle of the pack on yards per play. Now they're pretty good in yards per game but that's because they end up having leads and a lot of games but yard for play it giving up of four yards a carry to me like washington is going to have to be better than the number. They're giving up which is four point three seven so on the day better than four point. Three seven yards per rush. And that doesn't mean you get a forty hour drought. The end of the half or some crazy play that really skews legitimately legitimate round. You need to be better than i think they have a chance. Do you think they're going to try to run the football against pittsburgh again. I think that if you're looking at pittsburgh right now but team that is number one in sacks per attempt is number one in passing yards per game given up or they're the best in the league they're good at turning you over and they're right there in the middle of the pack in terms of yards per attempt on runs. Jackie fish probably cetera. Yeah that is interesting. I think the steelers in terms of rushing yards per game Are somewhere near the top. Their eighth and then but yards per attempt is cooley. said There in the middle of the pack they allow four point four yards per carry But as schooling pointed out could be because teams were behind and started throwing the football a little bit more in didn't russia's. I don't know what the reason would be anyway. here's my. Here's my number one. I think it's i think one of the reasons. They beat dallas. Don't you wanna get confused in the middle of something. It just continue. I don't even care what the damn racists here's my thing. I think that they did something in. They've been doing something. That's really impressive. To me for teams that can go on the road. Something that travels. And i know it's not true road game but they've got a tackle well today. I thought they tackled exceptionally well against dallas. At that they really had A discipline and physical approach to the dallas game in. Everybody tackled That was big In their win. Over the cowboys. On thanksgiving no james conner today for pittsburgh. He's out as well. You'll see benny snell. Allot you'll see former terp. Anthony mcfarland But here's the thing. Pittsburgh doesn't run the football. They don't care about running the football they're pass to run ratio is as high as anybody's in the league in terms of a team. That's got a winning winning record. In in wins games not teams. That are falling behind in their pass. Run ratio gets out of whack. Because of that ben rothlisberger at the end of tonight will likely lead the league in pass attempts And they've got a stable of good receivers not the elite receivers like they used to have with antonio brown. But he's got many options chase claypool. The rookie. at notre dame's been outstanding diontae. Johnson has been really good. Juju smith schuster. Eric ebron a player. That you didn't like it at all has seemed to have a a rebirth in pittsburgh. They've got four receivers with forty two or more receptions another not a big yards after catch team necessarily. They're not super explosive. But still you've got to make tackles in. Make them make third downs. Like you've got a tackle. Well you've gotta take it out of them a little bit you gotta be physical like baltimore was the only reason baltimore was in that game as they were good defensively you know. An and pittsburgh missed on a couple of opportunities. I want to see the same thing. I saw in dallas which is exceptional tackling a real physical approach to pittsburgh and an understanding. That a couple of missed tackles means a couple of extra possessions or sets of downs. That could really be important in a game. That i actually think's going to be close cer- tackling well. Today is gonna be really big for them as it will be the rest of the year But exceptionally important. Today if you're going to beat an undefeated team In pittsburgh What's your number two. Well number two really to me is the defense is gonna have to be outstanding top to.

"Just stop for a second. Explain to me why you continue to say that. Cleveland's up and down or that cleveland's cleveland with the maybe not. They're really pretty good. They were really impressive yesterday. I actually well. here's why. Because they barely beat the eagles. They apparently meet the jags. They barely beat the texans. They lost you know they've had some results where you're like you know no three. They are ninety three first time since nineteen ninety four. Think the saints are legitimately. Good in defense. I was dead wrong about them. Whenever i told you i wasn't a big fan of the saints. They're proving that they were legitimately good on defense. We think they have the players to be keep in mind their their winning streak. You know i mean they. They crushed the box. That was the most impressive. it's it's their defense. I mean their defense is outstanding. doubt the same hill. Well i mean he's terrible getting better. What's that game and better. I kinda like. I mean if if if we weren't in the division race in we were out of it which is typically the case on december seventh by the way This is a day that will live in infamy and Quick you know obvious recognition for all of those that fought and served and kept our way of life in the nineteen th from nine hundred forty one and nineteen forty five. The it's it's amazing. It's so it's it's nine hundred forty one which would be fifty nine hundred seventy nine years ago today The attack on pearl harbor so next year and eighty year anniversary. God that's a long time now like i. I'm old enough to remember like oh it's the fifty year anniversary of pearl harbor. You know in nineteen ninety one like that's a really big deal but now that's nine years ago. Anyway i digress. I like the giants if if if washington weren't in this hunt. I'd actually be somewhat rooting for them to go and represent division and create some havoc in the postseason and and they're good enough with daniel jones to be a problem. I think in the nfc post-season. I do. yeah. I think they're good enough with daniel jones but i think the the thing that he started to see stand out for the with the giants as they make this stretches. It's because they're relying on daniel jones. They have a good defense and they run the ball now when football games in december and that wins football games in january and they're figuring that out that they struggled running ball early in the season i think for getting better upfront pushing people around a little bit and the defense has started to figure some things out. They have enough of a formula to win playoff and we continue to say this weekend week out. There's a lot of teams. You're not sure of in the nfc in it's just i think it's it's proven out that way to me. I like i like right now. I think the rams and the saints. I just don't see it from anybody else. God you love the rams and they were impressive yesterday against the team. That's really.

"Seattle and looking good Defensively doing in washington and pittsburgh coming up. We're going to try to get this thing out quickly for you guys. We're going to do a little bit on the games yesterday. We're going to do. Our washington wins. If i've got an updated smell test selection for one of two tonight's game one of the two games tonight and We'll move through this but let's real quickly start with the giants winning at seattle with colt mccoy as quarterback coolly. That defense. i. I think and i think i've been on this a little bit that i thought the giants were much better than their record indicated. I thought they were playing well. I thought there was a certain level of toughness with joe judge in the team yet with colt mccoy at quarterback. This was supposed to feed into man. Everything's breaking right for washington. Colt mccoy doesn't do much. their defense. does wayne gaughman does and what it means now. Is that the giants really are in the driver's seat to win this division in a game that looked like it would have just been icing on the cake today. At five o'clock in pittsburgh you know if washington won the game now is borderline half to have it The giants at five and seven. If they win two more games that means washington's gotta go eight. Nate which would mean four of their final five. That doesn't seem very likely Anyway shocker be In seattle yesterday eleven point dog. I didn't think they had a chance. Not with cole. Mccoy a quarterback. I think it was the upset of the year. Certainly one of them on the nfl. It's the most important upset. So.

"Are see. We are forced to listen to quarterback so often in the world of nfl analysis. So i just wanna thank you for helping lead. The db revolution espn daily. Why does this happen. You guys finally invited me or it's your time man your old team. The steelers are right now. Undefeated and that is surprising. Let's be honest to a lot of people. So how surprising is it though to you. I think it's it's. It's more surprising when you actually watch the games <hes>. It's obviously surprising. Anytime team goes through more than half of the season and their undefeated. But when you watch the steelers play the second half against tennessee titans even watching them to send the backup quarterback gets the denver broncos or be dominated upfront defensively the way they were against the baltimore ravens but still be undefeated. I think that's the fascinating part is not just that they've managed to win. Every game is just inside of those games. you seen opportunities for them to lose. But they've made the place that they've to. I mean you can even look at a match up against the dallas cowboys and say you know gary gilbert and the dallas cowboys may have deserve to win that game. But that's what this lied about was going to come down to one possession games. He's gonna come our critical situation though football moments and at least it does far. The steelers have found answers to any questions in those important moments. And this is why you sit undefeated. So how does this defense stack up. Ryan versus the steeler defense. Is that you played for that. You helped lead. What are the holes in this defense. You know what. I don't think they necessarily have holes in the sense of of those things being a negative right. He's looking to make a rush. The passer with just for the obviously can bring bring pressure make fitzpatrick ultimate playmaker on the back end and i think they have really good corners. But they don't have that great court but when you all those things together i think you get one of the top defense in the league especially when it comes to pressure and turning the ball over we. That's what football is right. Like people aren't going to hold you. Thirteen points like we did wait. Like that's not the ball we play it. You can't intimidate people like i would get fined and kicked out of every game. Five play james harrison fell six million dollars a year. You can't do those things anymore. But if you could get the ball which the pittsburgh steelers do know that really helps and that's why this team world season. Well i wanna get into the difference between playing football then versus now especially because offense is king these days as you implied right there so the defense is the big reason. The steelers are undefeated. The offense though i mean they've been relatively relatively average so can eighteen built around defense. Like the steelers are ryan. Can that sort of team win in the modern nfl. I believe they can. I believe they can. Because if you look at the individual weapons offensively like they are extremely. good <hes>. I think you you're missing that one running back piece but we look at pool. Smith schuster the johnson. Eric ebron like that's a skill set or skill position that a lot of teams would love to have especially teams not named became the city chiefs. And so if you can do all those things on the outside like they can. You can score points. Also look at this team at critical moments though. Think about tennessee. Titans having to get a drive late in the game even though been was a reception late like they were able to the ball greg band. There's gonna prevail on the road. The pittsburgh steelers had the hold on dearly man. Hold on they do for the baltimore. Ravens they score in the second half and they were able to do that then back pop. For the end zone touchdown pittsburgh and all the out cut to the chase. Claypool man play. It just seems that all the critical point of the season it's offense has been able to produce down to like. I said the dallas cowboy game last week obviously exploiting a very bad bengals defense and well in a team like the cat city chiefs right and i say okay. One had the baby stopped him have to limit big play. The pittsburgh steelers can do that with rush. Plays on the back end right. Play play man when they need to stop the big click now. Let's go offensively the only time we've ever seen patrick mahomes lose. He was in the playoffs. He was standing across from another super bowl. Winning quarterback that was tom brady and rothlisburger. Isn't tom brady but he can do. Some of those things in important moments. And we've seen of do those. And so i think this team can most certainly went into as you mentioned chase claypool his nickname if catching on with you but maple tron. He comes from canada. He's this guy. I didn't know anything about. I wonder if you did because he has seven touchdowns in his first nine games as a pro. What has he brought to this offense. I mean you look at what this league is turning into. Because of the lack of physicality it's a it's a size speed league right like it's starting to they used to be. It didn't matter what happened in the shorts olympics at the combine like if a fast it didn't necessarily mean it was going to translate do can do certain things there did me but it's starting to mean that at the wide receiver position because of the rules. Like if you could flat out run you're gonna probably get open because they can't hold you. You pass five yards. They can't hit you across the middle play putin critic who has great hands he tracks the ball. Well he has a big body and so when you have all those things just translate we've seen chase claypool. You know kind of come out of nowhere. They just kinda have a knack for finding people that sit what they want to do and utilizing them in a way. That truly helps the team chase. Claypool is just another example of that

"Yeah and he's like young his shirtless Yeah Walnut list but tank top or whatever no just a button down but it was like not buttoned half a Oh Anyway so you shouldn't. Superstar. He is he's got to love him. Okay. We're going to move on because this isn't his show but if he's listening it can be your show, Jeff. He's just sweet. Just send us an email. Go slight see the me calm your show. Can take over. So. The theater began to struggle financially and was acquired by point bark. Point Park University in nineteen sixty eight the playhouse continued to operate now mostly for students for many years this way this wasn't a perfect fit though the buildings of the playhouse were old and not originally intended for theater. They were also much farther from Point Park's main downtown campus making the playhouse more trouble for the school than it was worth in late two, thousand, eighteen, the old Pittsburgh playhouse buildings crafts avenue were demolished as the spirit of the playhouse was moved to a new home. Oh, that's a bummer. It's like cool history. The new Pittsburgh playhouse complex is located on Forbes and fourth, and while it may not have as many ghosts lingering as the old buildings had it is at the very least a space that was designed and intended to be used for theatre. Sad. Sad. Okay. Well, moving on things the hunting section of the Pittsburgh playhouse. We gotta get my my spooky vocal but We also Halloween town reference. Have you sir. Familiar. Halloween town. Longtime ago. I know. Collectively, Judge Lino, she was not raised on D. Calms and it shows in times like this. There's a wonderful line that Debbie Reynolds has when she corrects her grandson on how to make a ghost noise like make it like this out of a ghost sign it was one of the daughters anyway she's like she's like she says something about it being like like lower and more melancholic like. Oh. She does this wonderful ghost impression where she gets really low at. Your Beautiful Register, she was Yeah I love her. Yeah. PAY TO A. Willing Grace. Incredible increase read the ball performance. She's so bad. Love. To. Conveniently, seeing in the rain bringing back. Doing episode on. Find a way to like incorporate like a haunted set. Because like I don't it sounds like I'm like a big big fan. The classic talk about. Picture you. I mean basically what I'm hearing today, I will say I'm picturing you with like a classic movie poster early. Like the size of your wall in your bedroom. Do. You have a no. I can confirm I do not, but I mean if someone were do yeah. Open to. Po Box. Okay. So unfortunately, with the buildings now destroyed catching more sightings of the goals said to inhabit the Pittsburgh playhouse is basically impossible now so I'm just crossing my fingers that someone build something there soon so we can investigate I, agree, Mercedes. That would be wonderful. So let's move onto the specific spirits of the theater. There is weeping eleanor. She's a she's takes the form of sobbing heard throughout the theaters mainly in the lobbyists. Why me? Just, sobbing no form. Of. A formless blob sobbing it isn't mood I'll tell you that I mean, twenty twenty is, is we being?.

"Hello. Go slight what I'm chase. I'm Lena and we. Are, going to talk to you about the Pittsburgh. Yeah I'm excited about this one I'm excited to Mercedes preps today script. She she did mention that it is a real trip of an episode so I cannot wait to get to it neither Lena, nor I have read ahead. So we we are. We are discovering this live with all of you and should be a fun episode. But before we get into that, how are you? How's Your Day? Has Your week shaping up I'm good What Day is it? Of Law strategist ammunition. Yeah I'm good. How did a good week so far? I've been watching unsolved mysteries on net flicks Kate never seen a shout out to Ana Papa who recommended it okay. And Dorsey. anyways recommended it to her. What is about? So it's just about unsolved mysteries. Like, just all these famous like people disappeared and no one knows happened Ma'am or like there's a ufo one where this whole town sees sees like a Ufo and they all have the same story basically. But so is there more differences. So. Is it more true crime or more paranormal? No more true crime or just like weird things that happened but up here, not paranormal. Okay. So just the ufo thing was the closest, but that was just 'cause like is a weird thing that this whole town saw the whole this Ufo. Is On game day I heard this one story of these people who were hiking and they saw something in the sky that looks like Ufo. They is a photography trip they all aimed cameras up to the sky they all took a picture they all exerted snapping photos of the vote right and then all of a sudden without the the the woman that tells the story has every memory. Of deleting the photo. But no idea why she would have done that because apparently she says that she's a person who holds onto photos forever and like never do it's photos and so she tells the story and she says I remember going through my camera and deleting the pictures but I have no idea why to this day and now obviously now I don't have the photos and all of us. Have photos because all of us started leaving them without. No Lie..

"That's Kelli Kuehne is doing too so that if you have these nagging pains to these niches these things that you're not sure we all know with traditional medicine if you call your family practice physician or orthopedic maybe three or four weeks before you can get in whereas with direct access. Maybe you can explain a little bit. What exactly is direct access because it has tremendous benefits for people who want to maintain their activity right and I do think Kelly spoke about this on her podcast as well but all fifty states in the United States have direct access physical therapy in some way taper forum in Pennsylvania? This means that. Let's say your your child has been having some nagging shoulder pain and it's really come on during their swim season. There's been no weather interesting trauma they haven't had any other illnesses. You're pretty sure that this is directly related to. Maybe they're possibly directly related to their swimming. A great person to see. Would it would be a direct access physical therapist so you don't need a referral from your physician. You can go to call your local physical therapy clinic and say hey are. Do you have a direct access. His physical therapist. Do I need a referral from my physician if their direct access. They'll say no come on in they'll do a full screen and they'll be able to identify whether this is something something. They can appropriately treat in the clinic and if they feel like there's something funny going on that maybe is not within their scope of practice they will refer you back to their physician and it's going to get you there. Get you to your results faster. Hopefully you bypass your physician and surgeon. All these wait times that you talked about imaging imaging fees so that's really what we want. We want to get people in with direct access physical therapists as much as possible. As long as it's safe I know one of the things that I've been told. There's a little over attention detailed and I still remember when I lived in Florida. One of the best physical therapists for running injuries stories happen to be in Atlanta. And I knew that because I lived in Atlanta so I was the idiot or the smart person who decided he was going to fly up to Atlanta. See this guy for something like what what you're doing. With Streamline Health Pittsburgh got the beginning of the year people said New Year's resolutions. I'm going to get more fit. I'm going to join the health club. Is this something that at Christmas gifts or New Year's gifts they can say. Hey you know. I'm going to buy a session with Kellyanne Streamline Health Pittsburgh so that she can come at a convenient time. Watch me Swim and say you you know. These are some things that might keep swimming. March April may three years from now rather than. You're the person at the end of January says. My shoulders hurt. I can't swim. That sounds like like a great Christmas gift but no I think it's definitely You know it's things that I offer. I do offer if your local to the Pittsburgh area where we are I offer in person. Sessions can come to whatever pull you train at. I can do stroke analysis. There everything's filmed as well so I do above and underwater filming from multiple will angles. So you will get my commentary during our one on one session. Then I will also record my verbal commentary over the video that Al Clip I send that to you with a summary of recommendations so you have a lot of things to hold on to refer to after our session. I also do dry-land screening or musculoskeletal screenings and dry-land programs in person as well but if you're not local to Pittsburgh you know most of this it falls in the injury prevention and wellness category and it doesn't have to be a formal physical therapy therapy evaluation. We can talk virtually so we can talk through video chat. You can send me your film for swimming so as long as you. You have some sort of access to a waterproof camera or water. Safe case for your phone. I'll give you the instructions to film your own stroke. You put that in a dropbox file or send it to me through email Al Clip it analyze it and give you all the things that I would give to an in person client and I know one of the things I think is dramatically underrated. Is the ability ready to look at your video over time. I know very often. I'll get my girlfriend to film being the dog's under a fill out Pittsburgh Movement tippin lifestyle hack but part of it is. I'll be able to look at my running form and see. Oh my hip is moving out a little bit or my foot is doing. This is what I need to work on so I think a porn point to emphasize with with analysis. It's not just a single time and do it and I think you alluded to this when we asked for some recommendations when you filled out the bio is you talked about having a once a year or once every couple all years kind of analysis from physical therapist. I know Dr Shirley Sarma has recommended. This people often go to their general practice or family. Practice physician for a health check-up but what is a yearly your by yearly physical therapist I think is movement is a lifestyle. It's important but maybe you could speak a little more on it. Well I think throughout the year the way that we move can change this based on demands of our everyday life. So maybe we've we've just transitioned from a job where we were a little bit more on our feet and now we sit in front of a computer eight hours a day you might have a little bit different posturing you might carry yourself a little bit of a different way throughout the day and you might have more aches and pains that you might want to see a physical therapist about I think a yearly checkup is something yearly checkup. The tuneup in the physical therapy world is definitely a goal that we're getting towards when it comes to swimming. I mean there's research that shows your bio mechanics can change from the beginning of this season to the end of the season so things can change based on the volume swimming that you're doing so I think touching base with somebody about your mechanics even especially especially a before and after I've actually done that with a few clients and it's been very helpful to just to see where we've made these accomplishments but we're still working towards these other goals with your technique. I think there's definitely a place for that and I encourage it. We've had some great information from bunny. VIRAG streamline health Pittsburgh if you're a mover hoover if you're thinking about swimming check out the show notes Bonnie I want to thank you for talking to fit lab. Pittsburgh about swimming about movement is a lifestyle. Thanks for having me this. It was fun..

"Still not as a steel town and many of the mills were still running but then eventually shut down in Pittsburgh went through a renaissance and one of the renaissance is that has occurred in Pittsburgh is the university of Pittsburgh Medical Center it has created the bulk of the new private sector jobs in Pittsburgh and its massive I mean even the university of Pittsburgh football team the Pittsburgh Steelers practice at the university of Pittsburgh Medical Center sports complex not the naming rights thing but that's it's right there UPMC is all over town just like the Cleveland Clinic is all over Cleveland we've got a satellite offices of Cleveland Clinic here right across the bridge over to west Palm Beach and this is happening all around the country the private sector is stepped in when obamacare bomb Google bombing and and that by the way Medicare for all is the next step from obamacare Medicare for all plummeted Medicare for all being rejected is identical little bombing here being rejected and all these private sector health companies have sprung up as markets will insure happen markets work and as customers reject attempts to remove them from their health care or circumstances that they'll you can't tell a hundred sixty million Americans who have their health insurance at work that they're gonna lose they've been there done that Obama told your like your plan you keep your plan you like your doctor your keep your doctor but they weren't able to do either an Obama also sender premiums in a come down what twelve hundred twenty two hundred a month whatever it was that didn't happen either American people are not idiots so I get to listen to the new obamacare like promises only bigger people like intro employer valves based health care in there and they're just they're not going to sit in and sit around eleven Democrats taking away from so that's that's the primary reason that that Pocahontas is in trouble I am Pittsburgh and Cleveland just two examples these these these stories are happening around the country many of the new jobs throughout the country are related to or in the healthcare industry and again it's just a it's a sign of the of the market working at trump is also at the rally last night whenever he has a chance he's always coming down on the right side of the of the health care story but the Democrats problems are further accentuated because while they're not talking about order me whatever they're being talked about whatever they are talking about is being over shadowed overwhelmed by this this fall impeachment Porsche look what cut through the noise look what finally there the democratic candidates are trying to talk issues and this portion by folk Hondas and others are Medicare for all has been home and it's in the process of being rejected as can be seen in her plummeting poll numbers and Biden is hanging on no matter what people learn about it Biden is hanging on now I'm sure that Bloomberg figures that Biden even always continuing the plug away is going to eventually faded because there's no way that Biden can compete with what do Berg thanks is the amount of money he can spend versus how much bike could raise I want to go back I meant I meant to say one thing about about impeachment in the Senate Jim got you and Brenda Matthews his heirs kind of flipped again she hasn't initially came out over the weekend in a podcast opposed to impeachment then I took her to the wood shed came out for impeachment yesterday but now she also in further statements about this has made reference to the fact that trump going to be acquitted in the Senate he got her you got Debbie Dingell and Chris Coons Democrat senator from Delaware all just holding the Republicans because trouble be acquitted and what good is that going to do is rotten rat Scully Republicans and so forth so that the world is in the process of being paid here for pelo seat to get on and off ramps and the in combat you know the ship flux competent compared to network the time never gets the neighbors the guy that shepherd and Bob Muller for his disasters appearance Hannah Nadler's ratcheting up to get his own impeachment time here that's going to be blown sky high nothing's changed in in terms of the the the radical Democrats in the house they want this they want the black mark of impeachment they wanted on trump they're going to do everything they can to make it happen and they're in a hurry but one thing I want to say but the Senate I actually believe that if this ever does go to a trial you know what's going to happen I think more Democrat senators would vote to a quick trump them Republican senators one vote to convict the they have to run for reelection to and there isn't going to be any substantive evidence at all presented if there is a trial everything that's happened up to now has been so one sided nobody has heard the trump side of things trump lawyers trump witnesses excellent lawyer cross examination of Obama and and chef witnesses Democrat witnesses in yeah I meant to say Obama because I think as thick as thieves and all this by the way there's a New York times story I think everybody's missing for see that that that the it is that after trump met with Obama in two thousand sixteen Obama's said trump knows nothing I think everybody's missing what that's about I can take a break I just saw the clock hang on we'll be back in just a second my friends as we wrap all numbers shop he.

"Of transportation, but primarily it's a bicycle in my own feet. So it'd be fair to say you're living a lifestyle that is not a typical in some larger cities like Chicago and New York, but maybe hasn't reached Pittsburgh for the general person who's living in within the city. Yes. And I if anything I have learned in all my travels, it's you know, to bring these little nuggets of things from other cities that are working quite well in terms of their people in their community, and in creating that active lifestyle and bringing it back here and figuring out how to way to make it part of the new Pittsburgh that I want and I'm curious growing up review and active. Were you somebody who walked everywhere, mom and dad's get out of the house and do something? Or is this something that when you started traveling overseas you used walking and other human motivation earth human movement ways to just to see where you were. Yeah. So great question growing up. I was a kid. That was always in the woods. I was behind our house. I was in the streams I was turning over rocks. I always had dogs all that. We weren't really allowed to have them off leash with us. My my mom in particular wasn't too trustworthy of of the dog. Staying by my side. Even though every time I did let the dog out. He certainly would would stay by the side and come back, but. When I started a travel one of the things as I would go to explore different city or country. I would always look for ways in which I could cheaply see that city so often led me to renting a bicycle or hiking. I do a lot of hiking when I travel so I never really hiked in Pittsburgh, and western Pennsylvania, the way I have and other cities in other countries. So when I came back in two thousand fifteen and that's why have some of these books here. I started a figure out how can I take something that I love and bring it closer to home. And the reality are so many great places to hike here. Yeah. I think one of the things that I've mentioned before is the river trails are a vastly actually all the rails trails of the Pittsburgh are vastly unrecognized gem. And I think a lot of people miss that even within the city limits or even if you get an hour outside of the city. I don't live in our outside the city, I live well. Eighteen miles from the center of the liberty bridge. And Mingo creek park is just one place that there is phenomenal. If you get off the paved trail off in the woods, you would think you were way out in the middle of nowhere. And yet you can walk twenty minutes down the hill. And there's a place where you can get cell phone coverage. That's actually mentioned in this book here. That's how I had a chance to first explorer that park as as well as a bunch of others. And for me. I can go to any dog park. I have I think a dual responsibility in my professional life as I often involved with helping people relocate to the area to understand options that might be closer to their neighborhood or better for for them. And a lot of people that recruiting in higher education or health care. They tend to bring a family with them in that family usually includes a dog or some sort of reason where they're going to have to figure out some exercising options. In fact, I'm actually helping right now someone that has relocated in from Boston actually to Pittsburgh to work for one of the universities here. And she recently told me one of her favorite things to do is to is to go hiking said, well, where do you hike in Pittsburgh? She says she has and she doesn't know where to go yet. So they've been here now for her and her husband for close to four months, and she told me. He's gained twenty to thirty pounds as as a result of this. So I said, I'm gonna get you some books, I'm gonna take you hiking. There are lots of options here and from my experience retention is very closely tied to recruitment. You're more likely to get a happy, engaged employees and family life. If the person understands that a job isn't just a relationship between an employee in a company is a relationship between the employees the company their family in this new location wherever they might be. And I'm curious in your job as a recruiter how often or how common is it for people that you're recruiting or for employers were looking for somebody to recognize the importance of in the case of this particular woman, hiking or maybe you've got somebody says, you know, my activity is I play squash. Or I'm a cyclist. How often does that come up in either the recruitment process or when you're working for a company, and they say. You know, we need your help to find an individuals do either of them ever bring it up. It often is I would say sixty percent of the entire recruitment process in
