"And that's what I have a problem with and the fact that he can't see that. There's a difference. Now. I don't know if Alex Rodriguez tourney one down. I'm just saying I don't think he has. And I think that that's why people can you know, they might chirp him for doping. Yeah. But he did it to perform better to make more money. Right. And then raises another question there's been quite a few guys who've done that. And I would never personally do it because it wouldn't be. I public opinion is everything to me. Which is another negative. But what would let's say you took performance enhancing drugs, and you made an extra fifty million dollars throughout your career. If you don't care, but what other people think, and you're you're just you have your own little bubble of your family. And now you get to live often. It's right in the sunset. What do you really care? What what people are tweeting about your. If you don't genuinely give a shit. It's about your Bank account, your family and your life. And it was a choice that you made. Hey, I'm never going to shame guy for doing it. I don't care. I don't care and back then it was like if some guys if they wouldn't have done it. They wouldn't have been in the bigs, and they and they didn't know who was doing it. So they had to compete. That's true opinion. You're very passionate passionate. I just. I'm just hoping. I'm like, yeah. I'm open minded, and a lot of people aren't and I can see both sides of everything I'm going to pick a side. But I'm going to seep. Oh, yeah. No. That's that's good. Okay. Wait darby. Right. Wants to know ten minute overtime. Instead of shootout. What are your thoughts? I didn't play a lot of minutes. I get worried about the guys who do because those are the guys who are going to have to play an extra five minute overtime that. If you go to ten instead of five that obviously is going to add risk to injury. I don't wanna see stars miss anytime. I think there's enough injuries with the way things are going these days because the game so fast and physical. I would say no to that. And I like the fact that they went to three on three I found three and three so much more than two dead. Yeah. Three on three is so entertaining. And they think they kicked it off at the world premiere games, and they had this team of North America where it was all kids under a certain age, and it was like Nathan MacKinnon, Johnny Gujral and all these little young studs. Yeah. There's so many young studs now. And they were just sipping that puck around the ended up beating teams Sweden in three on three over time. That was the most entertaining minute of hockey I've ever seen and ever since. Then I fell in love with three on three. And you're talking to a guy who would never in their wildest dreams. Get the set foot. Yeah. Let alone four on four. It's pure skill. And I think that the NHL has done an unbelievable job and a lot of areas in order to make it more entertaining. Even though we get back to the fact that they face a lot of criticism online. But you know, it's entertaining as gritty gritty is out of control talk about a marketing genius. Whoever came up with the concept s I was saying the same thing, I'm so obsessed. What's even more? Impressive. Is they've done a good job of not making it stale? Never have I been like a kind of annoyed of this guy. No because every time their creative. And they do some new some of you might be sick of seeing them. He's done a good job of staying relevant up until now behind it. Who's in there now because he's not the funny one? I Think think. about the amount of kids getting. We just so dodge adore to labar Philadelphia and saying, hey, but you gritty actress toback it up. Yeah. That's. You've probably like twenty. He brings it in the trunk was car carries it wherever he goes. If you're a gritty. I mean, not at all. I mean, I I love mascots. It takes a certain type of breed of human to to do it. Because you're they're truly passionate about it. If time I would tell you, my mascot story, it's humiliating. I mean, I used to tell people I was a first liner or to get laid. Did that work for you?.

"Dick, just kidding. What do you mean? You're just kidding. I mean like I felt bad for calling him a dick just getting. I don't even know. What is I hope? He's happy though. I hope he's happy. They like the caddy way though. Like, I hope you're happy. I hope you're happy. I also we're talking about like, my listeners, and who listens to this podcast. It's obviously ninety eight percent women. What's your following cysts statis- two guys longitudes? Guess why did I even ask I would say of every hundred direct messages? I say three or women are they like did you get some weird Dan's? Yeah. And they're the weird thing is just like. Yeah. People expect things from you now, and you know, and then like all like heart back because I don't have the time to reply to everyone of all you to cool reply to me. And it's just like no man, I want to try to get back to everyone, and I'm a people pleaser. And sometimes I wish I wasn't. Yeah. I am like a little bit. But I'm not I can't get back to everybody just decline all DM's now, unless it's yeah. Rarely do. I look at it. And and I feel bad time to sitting there. In your phone the whole time miss playing hockey. I missed the room desperately in the camaraderie when I played for the Phoenix coyotes that was there and on -tario with the rain when we went are called her Cup where two of my favorite teams in a year remained the run to the conference finals with the Phoenix coyotes that locker room was unbelievable. Those guys were amazing. We had we had a perfect mix of everything we had we had like the check mafia we call them because much check guys, and they would hang out. But there was no like it wasn't like cliquey. Yeah. He was just like that was the check mob. And then we we had a big group of guys that always go out to dinner, and then we had the the the older guys that had families and we'd would hear like the vicarious stories of ship their kids did, and then they would live vicariously through me about, you know, group sex group, sex and crazy crazy ass stories. Yeah. That's so funny. Yeah. That's I mean, I think that's a lot of people that come out of the hockey world that that's what they miss. We'll be back with more off.

"And you were telling them story that like you obviously didn't want people to care, and I was like at the table like filling up wine or something. And then you're like, I'm just gonna take a knee on this one. And you wouldn't tell it's probably the house in overturn story. And I. All you have a lot of female followers. But they're really good like. I just get weary about like, I'll I'll do a shortened version we. I can't tell us on your podcast. Yeah. Not this one to aggressive. Okay. Confession. I debated telling you this because it's embarrassing for me. But like, I don't know how old I was probably twenty three or something. I totally tried to will you at the Roxy when I was like twenty one ways and you wanted nothing to do with it. Really? Yeah. I'll say this. It was probably too early in the night. I was the guy where I'm hanging out with the boys our till two to three pm. Yeah. Hey, if you come find me, then if not I understand if you want to take home one of the way, better looking guys I love how you started low you set the bar low with me, and you're like you like. Five and a half. Shut me down this guy. I'm drunk right now. He's a five and a half. Yeah. I'm going to pick that the more handsome fellow and you did. I can't remember who you're with though. Let's not getting a names. Yeah. No names. No names in this podcast. And what's somebody asked on your Twitter today where somebody asked what percentage of hockey guys cheat on their wives? I saw that in it's such a feel bad because a lot of people probably assume it's like that. I so many guys that they would never even dream of doing that. And it's way less than you think the woman who asked it on your Twitter. There are so many great faithful guys, and it's such a misconception in National Hockey League that these guys are like scumbags, especially nowadays. There's far less drinking and poor decision making being done. I bet these kids are saints. Yeah. A ship that I was doing when I was twenty two like, dude. I just told you a story about how I was getting involved in group sex and shit. Say I mean, I know a few hockey players, obviously. And I've heard some crazy stories like crazy. But I think people just assume because there are one or two shady guys out there, but there are in the whole world, but just because they're known athletes same thing with like actors, and like anyone that's known like. Just say, oh, this guy's an athlete. This guy. Does this is insane. That's six sing. Like a guy works. You know, a guy who's I dunno just putting someone in a box because they do something. Yeah. Oh, exactly. That's I mean, if if we're getting technical here, technically, I cheated think about it. I was dating twenty five guys at the same time. Oh, yeah. Oh shit enough you dimes like three years. Yeah. What you were getting better every episode. You're saying goodbye to a few. So you narrowed it down. Did you watch it? No. I I when I found out I was going to be the bachelorette. Yes. I know. But I couldn't say anything because you said that if I told anyone that you would get in a lot of trouble. So I kept its thank you. I should've tweeted out gets ruined it for everyone. Remember when we were at local, and we took a picture, and you tweeted something like about crystals, who's the bachelor that that I was on. All right. Like you dick. How could you send Caitlyn home? And I read tweeted it. I guess he was so sad about that. I don't know if he follows her something, but he said to one of the producers sees Kaitlyn re tweet that that really hurt my feelings God's oh. You just broke up with her sent her home and your theories or hurt. Can you break ranked victimize yourself? You just sent the coolest girl in the world home..

"On Monday, January seventh only on ESPN and you're just as bad as I am at staying on track. So we're all. I go off the rails. I'm the worst. And I'm terrible at circling back to I'm like, wait. What was I even saying like what was I talking about? I mean, we didn't even finish. Really what that documentary was about the Pasha Pasha Pasha, what's his name Pasha. Now, you've got me questioning what I'm calling them Pasha esky. So we ended up executing it we did a five episode series. It's very silly. And acting is amateur but BC's beautiful. I wanted people to see it. And I want people to have a nice little fun piece that they could watch and have some chuckles about maybe a player that they enjoy watching and being like, oh my God. Like, this guy's actually. Okay. At acting or God. This is awful. Like, oh, there's maybe the was the one you put on the bottom like we're stack. Erwin? He lives. He plays for the national predators where you live. Oh, he's awesome guy. And he was just very like stucco or took the word. I'm looking for death. Yes, steph. It's so funny. I even for people that maybe like don't even know who the hockey players are people that aren't even hockey fans. It's still fun to watch like I was laughing through a hockey fan, obviously. But I was laughing through the whole thing. It was so well done it was that. Because of that guy. He's that's what he does. It has sponsors and stuff through like like traveling and doing the whole like showing BC Ugo energy was one of the all natural caffeine inhaler like instead of drinking coffee for people. Don't it. It just kind of gives you a little bit of energy all natural. I tweet about it all the time. You guys can go check it out on their Instagram, but it too I've seen. Yeah. I'm a bit of a perfectionist in regards to there was some times where where whoever we sold to. Oh, that's okay. And I'm like, no. No like narration needs to be spread out perfectly the scene needs to be cut rate. They're not at that frame. And. Yeah. And I learned a lot about film, and how to manipulate what you've got as far as content, and it was very difficult process. It was there was a lot of bumps along the way. It was very costly. I had a dip into my pocket a little bit. But I would not exchange that experience for the world because it's helped me do other things, and I love pushing content. I love trying to make people laugh, and it's great because I think well, I think we're similar in that way. Where like I never knew the show is going to open up these doors. But like, I always love making people laugh, and I always like oh podcast. Perfect. Oh, instagram. Instagram's stories like thank God for that. But it's funny that you transition from like being an athlete into like you're so good at what you do now. But I think that's so funny because I don't think a lot of people could do to come out of that. And that will take yourself, for example, and very similar hair. Like you've. Came outside your box in your comfort zone. So many times. Now, look at where it's brought you. And so many people are frayed of maybe public opinion or they dislike they get stuck in that little box frayed to take a risk. Yeah. And that's all we've done. Yeah. And that's all you. Did you went on the bachelor? I yeah. And then you were the bachelorette, you know. And then you're like, oh, let's start a podcast. And yeah, I'm sure you face criticism for every day insane. Like, you were getting negative comments on Twitter or Instagram when you were on the bachelor bachelorette did it. And now, you get to live pretty awesome life, and all you did was having awesome personality and learn how to use it. It's funny because I had a guy Ben Ben Nicholson, he was part of the buried life guys from I suck with famous people names he was like on MTV like years ago. But he now does motivational speaking saying like there's so many people out there that don't strive for like this like goal that is..

"Let's do it with Ryan Whitney who played who had a very good career. At the National Hockey League level. He's that very well for himself. He works at channel network. And he started this podcast initially wanted to start with me and Coby Armstrong, and I was still playing and I wasn't ready to like unload and say the things that I would probably say now on it. And also I didn't want to put myself out there, especially while. I was playing at least to that extent. Yeah. And yeah, it's been unbelievable. But that going back to the documentary. I wanted to do that with a guy named Pasha Ascii just to kind of like that guy. He's from Vancouver. He went to film school. Great guy comes to McGrath family, and he loves hockey, and we had this idea. Like, let's let's create a little mockumentary go around BC because I've lived there my summers, and I fell in love with it and lets incorporate hockey players and try to get them to act and hockey plays. You're funny enough people do people know that hockey players are so funny. But what amazes me is how many of them. As soon as they get either in front of the camera or into public. They just go right into a shell. Yeah. And I guess part of the reason would be a lot of people are critical these days, and they don't want to put themselves out there for that reason because they just don't want to hear it then for being athletes already criticized so much for like something that you're just good at that other people could never do. And I feel like there's so media trained like aren't you guys like as athletes so media trained that maybe when you get on camera? You don't know how to just make yourself. Yeah. I mean, you nailed it too. Like, I didn't I didn't play a lie when I was at the National Hockey League level. I was playing between three and five minutes a game. And I was fighting, and I've always been self deprecating, and I'd Apted to that role. And I raced it, and when I started social media, I think people love that that I could hurt myself. And then they could join chirping. I mean, look at when you ask, hey, you got any questions for this guy? Half of those were digs at me over some of my flaws, and they love it. They love it. And they get to rip on a guy in the NHL, and it's fun for. Yeah. Absolutely. So seen how you're a big sports guy. Let me tell you that the college football playoff semi finals are coming. And let me tell you what that means for me. I actually put one hundred dollars down on a football game the other day in one now into it. So set up for Saturday. Here's what I know December twenty ninth both games. We'll be back to back on ESPN first up at four PM. Clemson will face Notre Dame at the Goodyear. Cotton Bowl classic. I'm sounding like I really know what I'm talking about these two storied programs last face off in two thousand fifteen with Clemson coming out on top then Alabama and Oklahoma are playing at the Capital One Orange Bowl starting at eight pm Alabama comes into the game ranked first overall, but Oklahoma has won the last three straight matchups against Alabama. We'll be they'll put another pet down on this. The winner of these games will face each other in the national championship game presented by AT and T.

"With Kaitlyn bristowe, take them as creating a space girls. Can feel empowered to be themselves. Get ready for a lot of last up. Up on filter, tonight and wine. Get ready to shake things up. Here's Caitlyn welcomes off the vine. I'm your host Kaitlyn bristowe today. I'm with former Canadian NHL forward Twitter celebrity social media influence her dog at hammered for that. When you said that the influencers, or what does that even mean that just fluence people to go do things or I guess you could maybe say it in the in the sales department because I've partnered up with a few products. Yeah. But I get hammered for like jokingly on social media because people probably like first of all jealous that you get to go from being a pro athlete into this. Because those are true dream jobs. I've been so fortunate. I think that my transparency and me being very aware that is why I resonate with like my blue collar following totally. 'cause like if one of them comes up, usually if I have the time like I'm engaging conversation. Yeah. I mean, that's usually because I'm high on pot too. But I. On marijuana's. I on the marijuana Nov it I love talking to just blue collar people. I love it. I'm I'm the lucky guy from well in Ontario, and they've got to play in the NHL. And I basically documented my experience like every time I get on the flight on like like this lady just dropped me off a flaming yawn. I'm sitting in a bucket seat, and I'm getting traveled around and I get to make a half a million dollars. It's stupid. It is super head. It's so funny because I'm like looking at this introduction. Unlike still going, I'm like, okay podcast hosts color analyst, you're doing so much a YouTube sensation. I don't even introduc- yet the one and only do you. Call yourself business. Oh, God you wanna get into that? Yeah. So listen, it was a given nickname in the age. I was gonna say please don't tell me it was like a self proclaimed business, the I dunno. Well, no lay into me. I love all my fans due to. And I actually did a warrior ad for a content piece for them because I'm with new balance warrior, not gonna deal shuttle at the my sponsors. Shameless plug and. Yeah. In the video we had one of the actors when I said my name. Hey, it's biz NASA. He's like, that's the Dushi est thing. I've ever heard yourself like that gets I get it was it was part of the joke. Hey, it's Paul van easily who am I aka biz nasty, and he's gonna do she has thing I've ever heard. I know what to do, she nickname? It's my Twitter handle. It's my Instagram handle it. I think it's just what people call me now. And for me to change. I think it would be weird. Yeah. So he Paul it's as part of your identity. Yeah. It really is. You didn't you didn't give it to yourself. And all that matters. Yes. I mean that would definitely be do sheer than me still referring to myself as business t but like I put myself in my phone as huge legend. So that Siri calls me a huge legend douche. I actually like that a lot. Emails and everything it's like legend in you've got into the status where I'm sure you deal with a lot of hate. So that positive reinforcement every time your phone goes off probably helps you mentally, and I respect that actually have a crush on Siri because I made them like an Australian man, and he calls me huge legend. So I like talked to him a lot. And then he always calls me huge legend, and I kind of get turned on. It's like that movie. Joaquin Phoenix, we're he has like a full blown relationship. I didn't finish that one. But it's like that. Well, yeah, it's a pretty shitty movie. But let's hope we finish this podcast, man. Who knows I'm trying to go through my notes. I don't know where to start because first of all your is it just on YouTube the documentary that you did. So I finished my playing career. And and I wanted to open up a lot of doors because I still don't really know what I what I wanna get into the podcast has been life changing. And I love it. And I love our fans I love interacting with which is called spitting chiklis called spitting chick..

"Happy i mean some people like the new way and and some people don't i just i think that's i you know we we went back to the pittsburgh washington shares like i'd rather see that instead of pittsburgh ottawa the third round and he knows there's so much hype towards that talk about rivalries he i think the nhl had great intentions at at the beginning because those divisional rivalries i mean i'm obviously old but i think even like not even the canadians like boston play in the sabers in the eighties like those are some fantastic series brad pock ot game winner so i think they were trying to capture that but they didn't foresee that certain divisions we're going to be so top heavy like the alantic tissue no one thought probably you know tampa toronto boston we'll beat the top not necessarily have that many points so it does throw everything off it throws everything out of whack and the nhl they're not afraid to take their playoff system if you go through the history on the website of nhl playoffs like how how you had to make the playoffs and how things played out it's like finding the aca the fucking covenant it's like it was that crazy to like just to get to a stanley cup final they've changed so many rules so many times i would actually like to see you know i think they did this i want to say in the in the eighties one through sixteen to just see everyone went through sixteen so you just get some wild fuck and match ups and three.

"Yeah yeah it just like it's like cool for five minutes you like oh i was kind of fun like complaining about stuff it was it was in five minutes and i would say i would definitely still take a a world series than not so but it definitely changes things but i think i think caps fence would still rather uh not flame out like they always yes well i'll put it this way i'm gonna eat a piece of horse shit if the capitals when the stanley cup how how concerned should i be about getting my hepatitis shot right now i mean griffith a one year with teams in the league habit really been talking about the much will give you two the year that you'd over the hump to um i i think a few of those guys who been there awhile backstrom and in oldie i definitely think they deserve it by as i said the narrative of them not winning it kind of farc gear it will it's fun for a voluntary yes from ver i could see that are you have if you had to provide these go gun your head who do you have uh in in the in the cup final i mean pat i'd probably pick national east is gonna be off let's go i'll see pittsburgh adept okay all right so ripping each yeah that's no i like that so wrapping up for the playoffs how i mean you played in in a playoff for second how do you what what's the mentality in this like months before the playoffs start how what are you what does the team do inner they try and try and you know to fix out the king so they're trying to lay low and not use all their energy known they got a real real tough two months coming up what's the mentality of the locker room yang this home stretch or iberica it depends where you are in candy humpty anger are still pushing because it's so cold humpty are trying to fight drought wildcard spot the reason i picked pittsburgh again if 'cause they're always wrapping it up right after all star break.
