We made it to the weekend hope all is well, good afternoon, Friday, final day of may does that mean anything to you, what does it mean may thirty first it means that the summer has arrived, not officially but theoretically, and it also means that three months remained before the Colorado less than three months before the college football season. Remember that Florida Miami game is on the twenty four th this year of August. So the season will begin much earlier than expected. We're pretty much. We'll move on. I realized baseball softball. A lot of the spring sports still winding down. But there is some news today, the SEC remember them that's a southeastern conference. They have passed the biggest legislation of the meetings. There wasn't much but they did pass a new policy on alcohol. Like that. Each institution is permitted to determine the permissive. Just say you can drink now. Okay. Legally this is this is the new SEC game management policy, effective immediately. Each institution is permitted. To determine the permits. Ability of selling alcohol beverages in athletics venues and shell establish. A policy governing the sale the institutions that offer alcohol in public areas..

"But you know, I think the pressure is just a little bit more intense than certainly that leashes in a little bit shorter. Just by virtue of the fact that you know, the guy that's running the athletic department now knows what it should be. And he didn't hired you. So that means your your your time. And you're the patience that your former boss is gonna give you as as as big right now. All right Barrett. I thought it one more one more quick one for you before. I let you go are playoff predictor says there's a sixty percent chance the SEC gets two teams in the playoff this year. Obviously way too early to talk about this stuff. But we're going to do it. Anyway. See what you what do you say? What do you say about? What are the what are the chances that the SEC gets two teams in the playoff? You're going over or under sixty percent. I would still say under but not terribly far under you know, what playoff it all. It's all circumstances. So I mean, it's kinda hard to say. Okay. Well, if Alabama goes in the SEC championship game loses to Georgia. How does that fit into the landscape? But I think right now there's maybe five or six teams that really have a legit shot at winning a national championship. So you'd have to put them in the in the group of, you know, potential playoff teams, Georgia and Alabama are certainly in that discussion. And because I think they're at or near the top one or two per obviously Clinton is going to be in top three of that discussion. Yeah. It makes it pretty likely that, you know, they'll be the two teams from the SEC that, you know, have a shot because, you know, there are only six or seven elite teams, and that's kind of where I think we all right now, then, you know, being two superpowers gives you in the SEC gives you a little bit more of a benefit of the Dallas a win the rest of college football sorts of beating yourself up a little bit. So I would I wouldn't be floored. What I say it. Sixty. No what I say. It's fifty. I'm still say, no. But I'd probably put it around thirty five forty percent range, which you know, if you're saying, and you're in Birmingham, you're probably smiling near the year, your even at that point in this predictor scale. Yeah. Absolutely. All right Barrett. Thanks for your time. And enjoy your spring. I'm not sure when you'll be back on this show. But might be a while before I talk to you again. So have a good one oak catch up soon. Right. Thanks. Brad you too. All right. It's barrett. Salih from CBS sports. We're can take a quick break and come back with more of your calls. I checked but it's whatever though it's just another game. Okay. Well, listen trash talking is trash talking. That's pretty quality trash talking there. Will it have any impact on the game? But they are in the Sweet Sixteen and fortunate to be there the boarding one of the maybe the biggest meltdown in NCAA basketball history. Well, North Carolina and Auburn keep James you don't often think about. I'm talking about the blue bloods of the sport with a meet this weekend. In the Sweet Sixteen ROY Williams versus brisk furrow. As he seems versus number one teams. They done it before. Going back to the eighties. Remember, georgia. I don't Mississippi State barely Florida getting warmer Duke seems to be a popular team to take down. And of course, Kentucky did it. With Ohio State Kentucky thing down number. One. Doesn't seem like a big upset though. Michigan state LSU that up. We will see. LSU survives with an amazing finish Tony Benford versus Tom Izzo. That's not a match. I expected to see in the tournament eater. Interim coach versus hall of Famer. Ken Kentucky win without PJ. Well, they've done. It twice has not been easy, especially against Wofford took a dismal shooting day by Wofford's ace three pointer to survive..

And certainly the biggest game of the night is LSU going down to Gainesville a chance to do so much with a victory on the road. And they have been unbeatable on the road, and the Shaun farnum joining us always great to have one of the leading experts on all mankind. Joining us here to talk some hoops, so Sean, thanks so much. Let's start with LSU. I mean, we there's we've run out of words to describe what they've been through. But tonight tough task try to begin staking a claim for the SEC championship. Really incredible season on so many fronts when you think about LSU first of all what they went through off the court before the start of the season to how they played in the early portion of the season. And I think really Trump waters getting back to being from water has been a big part of this long run. They had I saw this team back in December when they were struggling a little bit, and they held off a Saint Mary's team in Las Vegas that kinda jump started everything. And I remember as I left I said to myself that's a team at starting to figure it out. You know, everybody's journeys a little bit different in the sport a basketball, especially when you're relying on a top five recruiting class. Like, we'll Wade was and they figured out how to play together, and they figured out how to compete together, and.

"What's in your wallet, Capital One and a? Cried passion and patron Torri of college football lives here. This is the Paul finebaum show. Best of podcast. Well, we have made it to another day. Glad you're here middle of the week much to discuss. And hopefully, we got all the time in the world for you to discuss it in any. Anyway, let's get to the headlines before we get to the guests before we get to the callers before we get to the fun. How about this? We heard about the stories we are heading out of here yesterday. But twenty four seven Brandon Marcella reporting that Auburn and Georgia expected to move their annual late mid mid to late November game earlier. Here's where it is. Right now. November sixteenth. It's always two weeks before thanksgiving. Since one thousand nine hundred thirty seven it may not be much longer Cording to Brandon report. Auburn has complained mightily about having that game before Alabama. Meanwhile. Travis possibly sideline Cal challenges. Other bigs got hurt last night in Columbia. Kentucky one not overly impressive. But that was to be expected after two brutal games at home. Meanwhile, South Carolina, all of a sudden making some NC double A Noah's Frank Martin's team won last night against ole miss Kerma Davis. They're not out of it yet. They've been a big surprises here. Anyway, we say Hello to you on this. Wednesday afternoon. Lots to do today. We'll take your phone calls in just a moment at eight five five two four two seven two eight five but before we get to deep. Let's tell us tell you the Brennan Marcello from the Auburn Georgia story, we talked about a minute ago will join us and tell us what all that means. I mentioned your phone calls. Okay. Don't bother you over there. Let's get to the calls a day five to four to seven to eight five and Brian starts us off in Miami. Hellabrunn? Good afternoon. Always a pleasure. Thank you. Thanks, mike. Golic just wanted to get your thoughts on the rescheduling of the big sales Otis revelry of I guess my first question and influences these kind of decisions and ultimately who's in charge of making this bogus decision because I'm an alternate alum. And this upsets me upsets me greatly. Well, ultimately, Brian these decisions are made by the SEC, they control the schedule. Now, I I really don't know much about this. And I'll have maybe a better idea about twenty five minutes when we talked to Brandon Marcelo, I've Aleve. Auburn officials have been campaigning not only to get out of the west. But to get out to move this game earlier. So I mean, it's not a free lunch as the old economy. Once said, I mean, you gotta play at some time. Do you wanna play it in September or early October? Do you want to play it as a traditional? I like it where it is. I mean, you're not both. I think are thinking the same thing here. There's nothing more special on that middle that middle day in November than Auburn Georgia. It's one of the great rivalries in all of college football. I agree. By the way, we apologize for any Nores. You may here. They are literally drilling. Outside the studio right now, but shouldn't bother us, and we don't don't let progress getting away. Of a program. You guys hear that? Are they drilling through the wall or about? I mean, I don't wanna see that drill. Like sticking out here. Listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. Really interesting story. Developing started happening late yesterday. Brandon Marcello breaking the story about the possibility. I say possibility because it hasn't happened yet that Auburn and Georgia could move off that traditional mid November day Brandon joins us now. And Brandon always great to have you on really do. Appreciate it. So take us through what you know. And what happens next good afternoon. And Paul, well, I kind of been working on this for about a year, and it's been discussed in the public realm and behind the scenes really for while now back as she spring meetings. Kirby smart was even asked about it and mentioned it Alan green, the athletic director for Auburn disgusted back in. November himself wreck Garrity at Georgia, and it kinda came to has here within the last couple of months..

"Cried passion and patron Torri of college football leaves here. The the Paul finebaum show our four podcast. Why our has arrived? We glide your your conversation about Mizzou earlier and other subjects as well. We talked to Ryan Clark in the first hour about this soup for bowl. It's get back to the calls. Eight five five two four to seven to eight five from Tennessee. We'd go to Swamy next. Hello. Hello. Yeah. Powell this is only for middle Tennessee in I tried to call, you know, like everybody else for hundreds and hundreds for days. This goes back to back with central Florida's plan LSU and everything, and I was already to tell you the latest and the pay apologised for the SEC and the power five conferences, but you kinda come full circle on them. So I want exactly call you a fat cat from the let the old NCWA selection committee, or you know, the the BBC our you going to call me like a skinny skunk for a skinny skunk. You're more like the skinny skunk with Tara five not not a fact yet. But I mean, I I've come for circle on that, you know, because you kind of you've not really bad, central Florida. You kind of I think you've kind of noticed that they are pretty good football team. And then with jam, you know, here he's. Coming around saying he's going to be a gentler GM Larry's going to be all that. And I'm kinda like Vince Lombardi, I'm thanking pause come around, Vince Lombardi counts, but the hell is going on out here. I'm already the base. You can't bash you now because you kinda gave respect for a team like a central Florida or even like a Boise state back into Kelly Moore era, which was really legit team. I mean, they'd be Georgia Georgia by fourteen points and beat Oregon twice. And that's basically all I really want. I saw the light at the, you know, Brian greasy. I mean on the telecast, I mean, all that he could do to make excuses why I can win that football game. 'cause all these people were out, but you know, with the with the Boise quarterback being out. And he is really he'd come. Johnny Manziel away. I mean, he's at different dealing wild side. Yes. And I mean, they had a quarterback play three games. You know? And and that that, you know. So that's basically, I'll say, well, I'm glad you called Swami. You made me feel better that I'm not an elitist. Or whatever else you were calling me Jimmy in Chicago, which warmed up today to forty below. How are you Jimmy? Yes. Much warmer. Yeah. Yeah. It's like funny when you actually get above zero feels literally like fifty degrees. It was great. It's a nine below. Yeah. Now now, I got up above zero where we're actually around twenty or so good for you. Yeah. So it's it's a very good thing. Yeah. I just wanted to kind of chime in on, you know, the idea that certain schools can't win a national championship and so forth. And I I gotta tell you. I just think that. If you get the right coach, and you have all the intangibles available. You can absolutely be continuing to win the national championship, and they your members. Well, as anybody when twenty years ago when safe and went there like, Hugh, a lot of their own fans felt that you know, they were just maybe there was something this move stuff. You know LSU is just snake bit, and they were never going to be able to compete at the national level. Been saving comes in. They get a great precluding pipeline going. They win the SEC championship in his second year, man. He's rolling and you look at a school at Kansas state. That was maybe the.

Our to podcast we have made it our number to integrate first our Ryan Clark coming on board live from the Super Bowl. We'll talk to Matt Jones this hour. I'm not really sure what this mad Jones conversations about. He he came in hot the other day, slam Tennessee fans, essentially saying that the football program is comatose the Basco programs fine, but football program has no chance of winning a title in his lifetime and much in his thirties. Believe maybe close to forty so expected life Pete what people live to today what seventy eight point three years or eighty. So he's got forty more years. Not good. Not good news for Jeremy Fowler or Pruitt for that matter. Dan is in Florida. Hey, dan. Hey, what's up, and that's fine. We're doing great. Thank you. I'm I'm sick enough pissed off today. So. Home. What what are you? What are you sick about our local affiliate CBS has pulled the plug on its broadcasting to local satellite and cable providers? Yeah. Dust being we won't get the game Sunday night you won't. So you have in Fort Myers, right? Yes. Four Meyers Florida end the thing that sucks about this is where tourists down. So every rest now ask Ask you. you. I think I flew. I went to Naples last year fly into four Myers is that right? Yes. Yeah. You clue in the Fort Myer airport. Prey it's now pretty big city. So you're not you're not getting the Super Bowl and Fort Myers now. Now, we are not unless they come to deal, but it's been off for CBS been offered two to three weeks. And the only reason I know that is because I don't get Dr Phil recordings on my DVR. Otherwise, I wouldn't even know CBS existed. But I like watching Dr Phil, okay? So you're you're on a straight cable channel, right? I I'm on a straight satellite. I don't know if I can bring it up it doesn't matter. But it's one of the satellite providers may pull the plug on it. Okay. So what do we now and these TV's today, they don't have a place to hook up rabbit ears or you know, copper wire to get the to get the signals. So what are we gonna do for the game? This is really weird from this is a local affiliate gonna suffer in in advertising revenue. Yeah, it's the biggest the biggest television event of the year. So our local affiliate will suffer for this. I hope so. Yeah. Me too. I I'm not a big fan of CBS to begin with as or any guidance in the local media there on what to do or. Now, the only thing you can do. So got Brad ears. They've got a from the network that the satellite provider that I've got they've been renting a streaming thing for two and a half weeks about you know, this whole how this situation works and all of this. And you know, they told us the only way you can do it is get rabbit in. But most of these TV's now don't even have a place to. Yeah. Listen. I mean, they're probably a small TV would work with rabbit ears, wouldn't it? But your sixty seven to go out and spend money on that. I mean, I really don't even care about pro football. I love college football. Because those boys are out working butts off tribunals themselves that may contract. You know, the the pros day just they get stub their toe when they're out for three weeks. But I mean, I like the the Patrick tree of it. All. I don't know the answer. But we'll we'll look into it. We we can share the information. We I don't know if it's happening around the rest of the country either. No parallel. It's not happy where I live. Well, we don't get CBS down here now. So yeah, thank you. That's I don't know. Why just somehow don't believe that Sunday night? I mean, four Myers is a pretty major market. Hard for me to believe, I guess you could go to hooter hooters and watch the game. Couldn't you. Remember, he used to be the head coach at Rutgers the program practically blew up under his tutelage getting slammed and he was given a show caused by the NC double A because of the academic irregularities. And certainly that kept him out of college coaching. He went to Atlanta where he worked under Sarkissian for the last two years at staff didn't farewell Sark was sent packing and Kyle flood the show caused now gone has arrived at Alabama as the offensive line. Coach formerly the head coach at Rutgers program. Really hasn't been the same sense. But it he is now in Alabama trying to help Nick Sabin and rehabilitate his own career. More changes have been speculated. We'll get to them a little bit later on your phone calls at eight five five two four two seven two eight five up now as we get right back to the calls and more guests will join us shortly Gerald is up next in South Carolina. Hello, gerald. Deal that this is Darryl. Darrelle there. Yes, I got to put things in perspective. What I didn't see on the field last month tonight. Then see a cure for cancer found and I didn't see world peace. You know, it was all game. It was over Clemson one. Then. And enjoy the wind. But now that win you can't eat it. You can't wear. You can't drive it. It's like vapor. It's gone. Do it do it again next year and Alabama will win again. Absolutely again, Clemson lose again. And also. Do you participate in sports? You get beat one day. All I have to say now, I gotta go change. A poopie diaper from granted Thomas is up next in Mississippi men for so glad we got him Darrell Gerald who cares? You're on the air Thomas next. Shit. Are you there Thomas? Oh, yes. Yes. Great. Mad is up next in San Antonio. Matt welcome to the program. It was a full you've been Lutheran for doing great Matt car cocky out Dane in basketball game with Auburn men and him. Right. It wasn't a good look for on. What's that? Now. Looking at their in game to watch fall gave up in more. Remember, auburn's really good. But an yet they are good on-scene admit that as an infant that they aren't really get king. But I have anything bad game. Like that at all time Paul thanks happening. If it's true, you know, it's going to talk to you, let go conveniently Kimball issue. You know, what about team this year? Did you not really good season, Paul? I mean, if you have to schedule I think, and I really did Stephen like recruiting class, so far I think this year they're going to challenge teams in the west never leave. Good record. And only has like three questions for you today, my friend. Okay. The first question is you do you think we can be Nick saving cow field. This year. Right now, I wouldn't say so, but I think it's going to be a really good game. I'll put it that way. I think that's one of the games. Alabama has to be careful about a game. I second question, you know, and you're saving Senator freedom against Georgia right now. Right. He has. Yes. Why did he that? He always like go in Texas recruit against him. We'll Fisher as she that playing out the next couple years. Listen, I I think that Nick Sabin and JIMBO probably compete for fewer players than Nick and Kirby because of the geographical region. But but I do think they'll go head to head on a number of players because they're because am is now in elite recruiting machine under. Jimbo Barbara is up in Tennessee, and you are on the air. Hello, barbara. Hi, how're you doing? We're doing great. Thank you. I am just really upset about Holly Warlick's. She needs to go. And you know, it we're Barbara are you going to allow her to try to right this ship?.

"Pride passion than patron Torri of college football lives here. This is the Paul finebaum show. Our to podcast quarterback. Oh, let's continue. Sean is in Indianapolis as we continue here on Monday afternoon. Sean. Oh, how you doing this Monday? We are doing great Sean transatlantic as listen I loved that Ron called in and talked about the show today. I agree. I think that this show is a platform for us to come and talk about football and sports. And and but what I found peculiar was Ron did not mention anything about Jim from Tuscaloosa making your career. So I was you know, maybe a new we've got an hour and forty nine minutes into the show without a mention of Jim this could be a new new record here. Yeah. Yeah. I was I was perplexed. I tend can believe it like, nobody mentioned, Jim. So, but anyways, Paul my cake on Sark, and is to find a cure the tiller, but I think that Nikkei's gods such a great track record of no matter what a system comes in. He still has a team ready to play for all the big games. And I think that in college football today assistance, leaving is is now beginning to be the norm right at Michigan. We lost, you know, Greg Madison and another defensive backs coach and this year and a couple of last year. And I think that it's just becoming the norm that everybody is moving forward in their careers. So I I don't really think that you know, Nick is going to be too. Far off this coming year. And if you look at Clemson, they'd lose a lot on that line. So in in that defense, I'm not really sure we should crown them. The you know, they may be the favorite now will they be the favorite in August because they're defensive of lying which helped them win. This championship is being shredded. But thank you, very very much Sam in Dyersburg, Tennessee Sam go right ahead. Paul. Enjoy your show first time caller one of the say happy new year new year to union staff. Thank I'm telling I'm a I was born raised Kentucky fan, I'm wildcat. Sam. I I just had a couple of questions number one. I I thought it was kind of slap in the face to Kentucky to be right? Not ranked in the top ten. They ended the poll borders, the rank a lot higher than we were on the Tennessee game purdis, but I wanted to comment on that. Plus, I don't understand why Kentucky, you know, since count in Woodson, we Stokes and go out and get Cornerbacks and develop a cornerback. If we'd had a good quarterback this year telling what we would have done. I know we're for the run game. But seems like we just don't get any quarterbacks that are, you know, pan out, and I like to comment on that place. Thank thank you very much. Appreciate khan. Comments. You know thought thought Wilson headed it's mow his moments. But I mean, I think it's a fair statement to make it's not easy getting the right quarterback as pretty much everyone has found out including Dan Mullen, and his predecessors at the university of Florida, but the final poll is predicated on a couple of things how team finished and also the bowl game. I think if you measure bowl games Kentucky's bowl win over Penn State to me was very impressive. We were down there doing our show that morning, and and I thought the atmosphere, and I thought the team played very well, the Florida bowl win probably a little more impressive because of the knockout of Michigan which was rank higher than Penn State. The Tennessee game is the reason though it really hurt Kentucky's momentum and is that fair. No. But I think on the same weekend as Kentucky was losing, Tennessee, Florida. Was losing to Missouri. It just didn't seem to matter. Great point. Thank you, very very much, Tom in South Carolina. Hello, tom. Problem. How are you, sir? We are great. Thank you bowl. I I know you're. Big in the SEC, and I could see Alabama possibly, you know, years down the road getting derailed by possibly take this AM within both Fisher being a good recruiter..

"More. You're listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. Male. Book fried passion, then patron Torri of college football leaves here. This is the Paul finebaum show. Our to podcast, and we are back, right? All of you are with us. And let's between more phone calls. Mark is in Texas, Mark or at ahead. Hey, Paul, thanks for taking my call. Thank you. I I'm in big twelve country here. So not a lot of Bama love of these this way. But. I was watching the Browns game, you know, midseason. Tune in person Baker Mayfield action and lo and behold on the sidelines. I see a plaque back from the past kitchen from a ninety six grad not exactly from the glory days of amick ball. But now wanted to get your take on you know, what you know about. Freddie kitchens. If you think he's gonna work out as a. Yeah. You know, if you told me back in the mid nineties that Freddie kitchens would end up with the head coaching job at the NFL and Davos, we need who was his ride receiver would would have won two national championships. I would have like had my head or your head examined. But I tell you what Freddie has done. It's one of the great rags to riches story of all time. He's the son of of of his father was worked at the tire plan. I think in gadston and never had it easy. Never had it easy to Alabama. But he persevered he started. Off as a graduate grad assistant under Nick Sabin. I believe at LSU and worked his way to job after job. And he somehow connected with Baker Mayfield in a way that ultimately help shape baker's first season, which was phenomenal and gave him the head coaching job. I mean, it's just it's just truly remarkable. I I don't have any idea how he's going to do. But I do know one thing that team is really pretty good with couple of two to number one picks, and and a lot of other compliments. Yeah. Freddy's ERA he actually pitched for Bama for a little bit too. I think you know, I forgot he sure did at one time. I think he was a prospect. I mean, Freddie was big guy. I mean, he could I remember seeing him pitch once or twice myself. And I'm so happy for him because notable along time and. He has overcome a great deal. Yeah. Right. Well, thanks for taking my call. Thank you very much. What a question. Yeah. That's a pretty phenomenal turn of events. Tim is in North Carolina. Hello, tim. Hi, how I love your show. And then you've earned the today show. In the world. I wanted to make a remark to the comment down from Georgia. Don't ever talk about a mandate recovers from alcoholism back to gray a cop Smith and in Darrell cows and pretty eight hundred all the time, but I gave her that wine so eight nook. He's families was in that movie, deliverance him to Maine in the woods that right at me that just relatives. That's why they're like. You know, George can't be down. Bama because they can't seem Alabama has their number Alabama school there to save and retires and Clemson right bind. And nobody else is going to get there. Thank you. Jim. Thank you very much. I'm talking about the movie deliverance in a long time Ned Beatty Burt Reynolds, anyway, we will. Take a break. Doing banjos in the background. Coming right back. "They. Look fried passion than patron Torri of college football lives. Keer? The Paul finebaum show. Our four podcast. Come back as we continue one hour ago. So great to have you onboard. And most of the show today talking about the college football playoff. What else can we talk about? And now, let's be honest joined by the head of the college football playoff. He is Bill Hancock joins us every week. You're on the program to give us some analysis of what he heard brought to you holiday express, be the radius Bill. Thanks, always for joining us on these Wednesday nights. So two weeks in what have we learned good afternoon? Good afternoon, Paul. Well, we learn one thing yesterday basketball pretty darn good. That's true. You used to run the car the NC double a basketball committee and the tournament. And I know you've seen some great players over those many years, but we may have we may be looking at the best. I'll tell you. I it reminded me of some of the early UNLV team about nineteen ninety what a what a performance, and I know it's a long season. But while it was it was pretty cool. I would agree with you on that. Well, it halftime. We got the the college football reveal. That's a new tradition. Unlike any other that we have with with that classic. A little bit of movement. And certainly a lot of conversation today, but help us better understand this committee and what they what they faced over the weekend. And what they came up with last night. Well, obviously, the you know, what happened at the top. And I found it fascinating that this week. We had what seven of our teams from about eleven to twenty five law and that led to a fair amount of debate into committee rooms, some some teams moved up. That that can be spent a lot of time in that group. Not short change the top group, which they didn't. But it was fascinating. Kind of what happened at the middle in the middle section last weekend and build listen, I realize that may be the most difficult part of this committee. If you really are looking at it quickly, you see a lot of schools. They just got hammered over the weekend, though, LSU still seven if Florida the inexplicably lost to Missouri. They're still ranked. And I realized that this committee is looking at many many things, but help help put some some context into what they do after the first four, and I know they're not just looking at one loss record. Because some of these teams have played very, very good schedules. Yeah. You know that they just keep voting the teams in through the seven rounds of voting. And then they go back and look at it and say did do we need to revote any of the what strikes me is how every season is different. And the thing about this season. Is that there's a lot of parody. You saw all three loss teams that are bunched in there together be below about what fourteen or fifteen I I don't remember having that many teams with three losses in that range this early, and it's nothing that the committee did different just exemplifies. Now every season is different. And this she there's more teams that have beaten each other. And Bill the easiest thing in the world is to criticize these people. But I wanna ask you about this. And and the committee changes, so you can't say, okay? Just because they did something fourteen fifteen sixteen they're still doing it because they're not the same people. But would you agree? And I think he would that this committee. Committee doesn't necessarily follow a script because they've done some things like last year like couple years ago, and they went with the Ohio State who lost a head to head. They definitely have a mind of their own. Would that be fair statement? Do and call this is up before I think he and I've even talked about this. This is not your Granddad east associated Chris ranking? Nothing nothing like this has been done in college football before where you have a group of experts sitting around the table starting over every week. And yeah, it's it's just different than what we've had before. I like, I I think this is the best way to rank teams that that we've ever had in college football. And the reason we bring this up. I mean, I'm on these programs, and you..

Hello and welcome to the middle of the week and what a week it has been. We're in the six week in college football season lot going on in questions remain about Auburn member, Auburn, last year, they won the west, beat, Alabama and Georgia. Both number one teams at the time. Gus malzahn thousand like a broken record. So Gus, when are you going to fix the Auburn offense, you better do it quickly. Mississippi State is Saturday night, so well, how bad is it? Well, not good. If you look at the comparisons between seventeen and eighteen pass officiency down Russia fish efficiency down third down efficiency. Pretty much everything is down the Tigers have one loss to LSU, but could they have another one comes Saturday night. So it's a real issue if two teams in starkville desperate for a victory. So that's how we begin our program here on this. Wednesday afternoon, Nick Sabin considers how come on. I can't even read this with a straight face. Nick Sabin said, this is a trap game. No, it's not. Well, according to FBI this is a ninety eight percent. I mean, this game other than the citadel is a well, a lock cinch. It's not a trap game. You're playing a team whose moral victory was keeping it close against Texas AM try again coach. This one is is not a dragon. It's the biggest game of the weekend with the biggest games in college football this week or is your on talking about the LSU Florida matchup. He says, this will be the best defense they faced now is Florida's defense better than auburn's. Now maybe just maybe they are according to the stats. They are. Across the board, the gator defense looking stout, but you you knew that already because you, you have Lance from Gaspar telling us every day how great they are coach show. This is a big game for him. It's a big game for a lot of reasons. Some people are not completely buying in on LSU in spite of having one against Miami having one at Auburn, but road game at Florida home game next week against Georgia. If LSU's undefeated through that stretch, we got something to talk about coming up on the program today. We got plenty to talk about Trevor madij always interesting. Atmos- Ghana on the LSU Tigers. "Cried passion, then patron Torri of college football lives. Here the Paul finebaum show our three podcast walking me back and we are live for the next couple of hours and we'll talk to or writer in Arkansas who believes things are not as bad as they appear that the Razorbacks played Auburn. To even game, even though the final was thirty four to three. Well, that's an hour away while he hawk can't wait to talk to him. Let us move along and talk to hardy in where else? Louisville. Hello? Hello? Hardy? How're you doing? We are doing great. Thank you. I'm so proud to be on your show. Thank you very much. You remember the nineteen seventy seven, Kentucky football team. I sure do they. They weren't what? Ten and two or something. Ten one one? Yeah. I saw a game in Commonwealth at your euros in college and they, they were unbelievably impressive. If I remember correctly. Yes, I watched them on TV. Was that was that Sonny Collins team? No. Sonny. Oh, okay. That was arm stale, dirt Franci. Art still? Yeah. What a great player. Randy Brooks? Yeah. Okay. I do remember. No, Fran Kersee was a coach, right? Yes, sir. I do remember. All right. This Kentucky team is the best team I seen sets in. And I can tell good football team because have nothing, but respect, brow, Alabama and Georgia. 'cause they represent the SEC to the utmost. But we're kicking the door this year. No, that was a tremendous football team. I agree. I, I remember that team. Well, this this team as good as that team. I hope you're right. I really do. I don't think they'll get the big head. I think that'd be ready for every game. And the only team I really worry about this year that we play as Georgia. Because they are really outstanding, but I don't hear anybody else. And as you see Georgia. And if we get the Alabama, Alabama. Well, you only see Alabama. If you're if you're in Atlanta. Right? If we get there. Who knows. That team. I just looked it up at team lost to Baylor in a non conference game, but was undefeated in the SEC. That's pretty amazing. Yes. And Frank carseat said, the only game that will man looking at the schedule will be Baylor. That's only team we lost to. Yeah, I happen to be up there for the Tennessee game that year. It was. It was quite a game that was that team. Was that team on probation? Is that why they didn't go to a bowl game? Yes, sir. Not. I had to watch one, you know, delight TV. They come on seven thirty at night on roll Vogel. Yeah, that's too bad. There were ten team, Alabama, of course, was the official SEC winner that year, even though Alabama Lawson non conference game as well? Yes. If we had a play to or been on probation, we played Alabama at a playoff. Does she who went to the sugar boat. That was a good Alabama team. By the way in seventy seven team, I believe lost to add Nebraska. Yeah, they they had a really good team. They always have good team, nothing, but I, you know, I like Alabama football too. I love the way that represent as she see and I don't know what that guy was talking about yesterday on the phone with you because I think he was drunk. Well, that is not. That is not pro prohibited.
