Just hit the link in the show description to support. Now this is sarah kane. Host of the serial podcast. I wanna tell you about our new show. Nice white parents reporter joffe. Walt spent years looking into this one middle school neighborhood. She investigated the school's history and finally realized she could put a name to the unspoken force that kept getting in the way of making the school. Better white parents. How white parents can mess things up for everyone else without even knowing it nice. White parents is made by cyril production york times company. You can find it wherever you get your podcasts. Guidance who've been journal ignition sequence spends nuts three to four five to one report. It feels good once again. Thanks for joining us. This is the space nuts. Podcast my name sandra gently your hosts dan joining me as always professor fred. What's an astronomer lodge radio new. I'm well thank you. we're both hopefully. He's in this day and age was tested on friday. So i know that as a friday. Okay we're talking about the The new covid cluster which broke out in the northern beaches area of sydney. At last count. There were ninety cases. And i think from what i've heard is that managed to holding but i'm sort of preceding comments because the state premier has made her latest statement yet. So we'll have to wait and see on that tom. This podcast is out. We'll we'll know where it stands but it looks like they got it early in they've really slowed down the potential for it to get out and about which is great news but it scotched app lands. We guide to sydney to say a boys next week. That's Not going to happen so unfortunate but you gotta be siphoned. We'll catch up with him again at some other stage now fred. We have got an interesting episode this week. A very interesting episode. Because you know what's happening you you've been left out in the dock part of your job. Let's face it. That's how you left out in the dock but we are doing questions without notice today questions out notice so we're gonna bunch of audience. Questions he for all a whole array of people all around the world who have sent them in very currently and we appreciate that. And we're just gonna play them and see how it goes so Totally unrehearsed totally without notice. So let's get straight into it though not before we do for it. I must say. I tried to look at the great conjunction the other night and i was very disappointed because it rained. It poured here the clad. was sick. you couldn't say pasta and we missed the the event now. I did have a look a couple of nights earlier and did take a photo but unfortunately my little camera justin have the home to get a real good close up picture of saturn and jupiter. But apparently you got to a look at it Last night i did. Yeah i done locally occasion. Last week when the moon and jupiter and saturn were pretty close together in the sky. And i got some nice pictures of that this was before the conjunction of this was on thursday i kind so the conjunction day. Yes the whole of pretty well. The whole of new south wales was washed out by clouds moving toward down here. in sydney. There was no chance of saving. Anything tweeted disappointment than last night. Though knowing that the planets were still pretty close together. I think still less than two degrees upon a look again. That was a sunset. That was the most beautiful sheet of clouds being lit from underneath by the sun. And that was a disappointment. Because i thought well we're not going to see anything through that that but it was so stunning. Tweeted a picture of it Because it really looked great but then at about how nine. When i knew that the jupiter and saturn were about to set in the western sky accounts again and then gone bill below the cloud deck. So we could see them. See them look very low down in the sky actually getting mixed up with the trees that surround property but Through binoculars it was just stunning with jupiter directly above saturn. Very very close by. I could just about make out a hint of the moons of jupiter. It was very poor conditions because there were so low on the horizon button and it was only seven fifty binoculars still We got them and it was just brilliant to say so the conjunction itself must have been truly spectacular Because twenty four hours later it was still looking pretty damn good. I was very glad to get i. I saw some absolutely brilliant photographs on instagram and twitter and a few other places Pay people with really good equipment. Obviously and good Telescopic equipment that. We're able to get such. You're really vivid pictures of those two planets. Close up and i congratulate them for that. I get a fabulous job. That's right so it. Equal rights that with a telescope or telephoto lens. The two planets would be resolved as planet. And you'd see the details on them but within the same field of view is just fantastic is had terrific stuff which you just reminded me off. Got a Another camera are could've used. Which has got a super duper lands and not never. I didn't pick a getting it out and just to get off. I should have done that not to light. I'm out of a crack tonight. Look tonight because it's still worthwhile. Hopefully the sky will be fingers crossed. Okay let's go to our first audio question and a question without notice for you fred. This one comes from cates. Now i'm going to take these off so that we can pick up the audience with this. This is also technically technologically advanced. Here we go hi. my name is case. I heard the episode on the third of simba and the first question agai oft about whether the unit surprised that the universe was wrong. And it made me question because i was reading something about smoking. If are there any theories about what the universe whatever shave. It is what is suspended in a silly question. I guess i'm just curious. What do people decide to leave the universe or university. They're more of one. What does it exist in if you could have any thoughts on that that'd be great. Thank you kite tights from australia. Might bump sure. What is the universe suspended in the brilliant question. It's one of these questions. The isn't announcer to we. We can theorize what the possibilities might be but there is no certainty at the moment. The main issue. I guess is how you define universe because the formal definition of a universe. It it's the universe everything you can ever detect or see or measure. It's a in other words. The word itself precludes being anything bonded. That ashley is the way. Most physicists tend to look at the universe as a single entity which is probably without abound a boundary although it may not be infinite one i mean by that is if you think of the earth. The earth is certainly not infinite. But he doesn't have any the surface of the doesn't have any boundaries in terms of your physical ability to move around the clearly is ocean and things of that so but the surface of the is boundless but the the actual of itself is not infinitely to finance is so the universe is it you can think of it as a kind of three dimensional hannah log dot dot co subsidy of and that is really the only way we can get our heads around it the it may actually be That may be no limit to it. There are limits to how far we can see the microwave background shots. Cut down about a look back time of thirteen point eight billion years but it may be okay so it may be that the universe doesn't have to exist in anything it is everything and it's beginning was the beginning of space on the beginning of time. What's event now. Some scientists think that's a bit southeast the hatchery. of course. i'm. I wonder about other universities. Having the mountain recently astronomer royal he was one of the early proponents of the idea of multi-dose multiple universes a then. You you say okay. Well why raleigh. So you know is the that you know what. What does the university exactly as kanta said so that the usual thinking on that is a higher dimensional space and so that gets you heavily into mathematics because in mathematics. You can many dimensions you want and you know geometry. Lets you do that any fact. Most of the thinking on this very geometrically orientated is logical formulation so if you if you can imagine perhaps a you know we know the universe is three dimensions of space up down side to side backwards and one dimension of time if you had a fifth dimension for example which was hidden from us for some reason could other universes sit with not dimension and actually one of the one of the thinking it One of the tho- processes along these lines is something called m theory and the stands for whatever you like actually could membrane is probably. The usual universities are imprinted on something that is like a two dimensional membrane but it's in three dimensions and these membranes floating around in a higher dimensional space that's perhaps the most easy to get your head around view of what the universe might be like. Now how do we detect. What's in the it's actually called. What's it called the name. It's called the void by dr who but in in astrophysics. We've got another name. She's alerting the moment. That's what you get the question daylight as it had this. It will come to the minute anyway. This this hideout mentioned space how detected so maybe Some people look to the possibility of seeing evidence of other universes through the imprint of on cosmic. Microwave background radiation. This his all around the sky in the radio. Microwave region of the spectrum is the flash of the big bang. That's got these hot and cold spots imprinted on it by looking at patterns in those we can say a lot about the big bang but some scientists have said. Maybe we can say a lot about other universities as well. Yeah based multi universes in one of my books. I would expect nothing less but a when you when you said it might be infinite which means it never ends. They fought copy suspended anything. How do you get your head around that you know it is a puzzle. It's so country to to our thinking because you stood a three dimensional world with dementia limit. We don't do anything be limits with limited by good question. I yet known silly question at okay. Wonderful question because i suppose that's where astronomy is at its best because they're trying to answer these impossible questions improbable questions. That the things that we just try to understand that beyond their comprehension spies. That's the big challenge in in astronomy to come up with answers. Indeed i think have remembered what we call the space between university in astrophysics. But i'm just checking our make. This i was talking to god the other day and it was actually a live to air interview and i asked him a question and he just couldn't think of a certain name a word and he said to me you know when this is happening call saima. Brian is buffering. So i thought that was brilliant. Right that one. It's it's actually a a remembered correctly. It's called the bulk the bulk. And if you a look that up and defined it tells you it's the high dimensional space between Good all right. Thank you feel hundred for some reason. I've lost your voice get out. I can't hear anything you're saying am not sure why okay. This is odd on. Hang on let me try again. Can you hear me now. Yes for some reason. Probably because they went to another web page muted. All right to i. My unmuted now very amusement definitely plays take my wife because she knows already doesn't now anyway all right. let's continue. This is another question without notice. From jeremy and he's in utah. Hello fred and andrew. My name's jeremy from utah. I have a question about your favorites subject black holes and the question. I have is one. I haven't heard though before and it is whether the event horizon of a black hole can have ripples on the surface that there is such a thing. Anyway i love your show. And i will have listen. I'm glad that might one of us. Thanks jeremy yep black hole event horizon does it have ripples willie great question and i think so once again. This is coming from what i know about. Michael's which is mostly gleaned from other scientists have spoken to things about the event horizon as in a sense an illusory aspect it is the point at which the the light from the black hole cannot escape from bill. So you can't see anything beyond the adventure. And i think because of that and because the black hole itself is a single point by definition defined two dimensional point in space that means that the event horizon must be perfect sphere. It must take basically things go to be at the same pistons everywhere from that single point so i guess is that the answer to that is no but it is a great question and i next time i'm talking to one of black holes specialist colleagues suddenly mostly on available at the moment because of the covid lockdown here in the beaches next time. I'm doing that though i will ask. That question is a great question. But i think the answer is no not ripples so it would be a perfect sphere which make because which which basically means that. The term blackhall is inaccurate term that coupled together. That's right it's not good nine. It's one that was suggested in the nine hundred sixty s and it was a offer. Joan whelan who joined did wrote about the naming. Actually in a coma chromosomes or exploding styles invisible planet. If you say yes or jeremy thanks for the question simple answer no probably probably but you know we could do a sequel but thanks for the question We are going to take a little break. But we've got a whole bunch more questions without notice for fred soon on the space nuts. Podcast this holiday season. Treat yourself treat yourself to candy. Fred watson and being allies program at the probably a good opportunity to send out some thank yous to our patrons. The people have put a little bit of money in a month to support the podcast. You know who you are and we are most grateful for your support of the audience brought to us. We didn't we didn't even know the concept existed to be honest but he we are and thank you for your support Whether it's repatriation dot com or through super fast or i cost whatever it is and of course now will go package dale's There's all sorts of why you can support the podcast. Even if you just want to make one off the nation totally up to you and totally voluntary we will never say you have to To those who have decided to get on board. Thank you very much for for doing that for us now fred. Let's continue with the questions without notice and this one comes from andrew who is in victoria but victoria. Australia victoria in british columbia. The engine fred. This is andrew here longtime listener from victoria bc. canada. I have a question for you. About the orbits of spacecraft's. I was reading up on the dawn mission recently and how close it got to the series Dwarf planet. i noticed that apparently god is closed as around thirty kilometers above the surface. And my question for you is hypothetically. How close could a spacecraft get to celestial body would it hypothetically be possible floor and astronauts standing on the surface of the moon to see a spacecraft past them at just a few meters above the ground and the spacecraft to survive. Of course it was going fast enough. I'm sure this will be possible. But just based on the speeds they generally travel how close could a spacecraft get to the surface of either the moon or another celestial body. That's you know relatively large thanks. Thanks for taking my question and keep up the good work. Thank you andrew. I suppose it depends on the celestial body doesn't well it does yes of course but that's the question and so for example. If you consider the earth what stops you getting low to the surface is the atmosphere. So we'll do the to do the minute. It's the atmosphere because you're orbital speed orbital speed a spacecraft the typical orbital height of about two hundred three hundred kilometers is nearly eight kilometers per second and It it gets lowers the further away. You go so the near you get the surface the fastest it but with the earth you've got the atmosphere and clearly the friction at that speed just burns you up. There's no surviving. But i think the question is on the money because there's not really her with a body that has no significant atmosphere and the moon and probably series do have a gaseous envelope but is extremely rarefied. These called an fear rather than atmosphere. The so little in it. But it's almost not there but it does have an atmosphere and that if you if you could provide a limit is the moons concern but if it was a totally airless body with no atmosphere whatsoever. You're right. I think it will be the mountains. It will be the limiting factor. They would decide although you could get now. The the reason. Why with the body like series. I think the questions correct that Thirty kilometers a minimum height. The same is true of little lunar reconnaissance. Orbiter think been. That's both coaches thirty kilometers. And what you're doing there is choosing a high. Lets you get some useful data from it because if you to near the surface you're not going to bill to get this an imagery of the surface even though it's very near by winning by so fast makes it very difficult and so that will be a compromise. In terms of what useful information you want to get from the mission to But yet get the nearest you can to the surface. We've seen marvelous. Some images from lunar reconnaissance orbiter in particular the apollo landing sites. So i suspect there is no physical limit until you start hitting things. On the surface completely airless world would be another consideration and that is that most bodies in the solar system perfectly very cool so y you might be a hundred meters above the surface at one point you might be hitting. The south is another usually the slightly flatter. So that's another consideration but not really interesting question again And as a setting solar comparable and an answer is questioned about what astronauts standing on the moon would say that they would easily say passing spacecraft. I imagine yes yes you would. Yeah especially going was close enough to be going really. wouldn't be well at spade. Yeah but Even on earth you can. You can save passing aircraft quite easily. You can save passing spacecraft at very high altitude Crossing the sky so so very quickly. So at thirty meters yeah. i reckon. You'd probably say that. Most definitely i used to live near an raf. Thyssen scotland and off. We had jets almost supersonic speed a less than a kilometer probably less than a thousand feet to use multiple measure and they the seventy lifted your hair because at herring could be lifted. Let's that's funny because I grew up not far. From what is williamtown w. f. face and when i was growing up the fatah bomber of the day was the mirage the french dealt mirage and they quite often very naughty and broke the sound barrier. They weren't allowed to. They weren't supposed to but occasionally. I'll be about out in the backyard killing ants or playing cricket or something and we you just you hear it fail it at the time But it was Yeah you and that quite often got into trouble for that. All right andrew. Thanks for your question. Let's move onto an ex question. This comes from spain. But i must confess i catch the name. I can't catch the name but Maybe i will pick it up. But let's let's say how we got this one. Well now. i'm not allowed to tell you what has questioned without notice. Hi andrew m freight these monkeys commodities from spain. And the i heard one of your podcast and you talked about The procession over the a rotation axis of the and fritz said that did that took twenty six billion years. And i wonder how the hell can we know that time. Okay and just that. I love the show and you pretty much a little comments and spur. Much english all that. Thank you much by. Thank you so much noise to hear from somebody in spine by didn't catch the name. Did you catch the name for. It was not not ink. But it's very very nice Now i gather from the question. He's wondering about How we now took so long for the earth to rachel volpato alexis. I think that's the is the procession of the sexy. So the earth spinning. And if you think of a spinning top on the table you can see spending but it also. The access wanders around. Yeah well that's the phenomenon of procession and the earth does it. It goes around one snotty twenty six million years but twenty six thousand twenty six thousand year. I hope i didn't say twenty. Six million is very much in here. Twenty six thousand years. In fact i can almost remember last time it was owned. So it's actually extremely easy to measure because the result of that is a change in the apparent measured position of all objects in the sky if you think of it. As the earth rotates we bay saw measuring system of where celestial objects are on the equation. Llosa ryan to the equator is is basically wobbling around with this twenty six thousand year period and so whenever we We see when we specify the position of celestial object we have to specify what's called the equinoxes and that's the the is to cover procession so most of the positions were used these days corrected equinoxes of nine hundred fifty point zero and that means where the processional access wasi nine hundred fifty. Because it's moving all the time where the twenty six thousand year period it kinda you know when measuring things with positions of less than an upset. Could that actually moves quite quickly in. It's pretty easy to imagine it would be harder. It will be harder if it was twenty six million years. Yes that will be more difficult to do. Yeah i imagine. Six thousand years is is easy in fact. He's slightly if i remember slightly less. I can't remember the exact number. But it's known to probably a few muncie the actual amount Well we can fix that with the last decade or something really. Yeah let's do backwards can all get younger now. But thanks for the question and certainly lovely to hear from somebody in spain next question. Fred comes from a fellow. i think Russell has asked Office not now if he's trying to be tricky by changing his name to rusty but data that's probably nickname but he is in donnybrook in western australia. Remainder get i. it's rusty nuts from doni. In w why my question is about still abundances and a wondering. This study done on young galactic clusters on abundances of different spectral classes. And i'm wondering if that studied links amine saw into the makeup of gobi lives trade. You told us a few times that global was made up very old stars icon heavily laced aimed at why and i'm wondering if studying young galactic clusters will lend some insights into what might have been what could be now in terms of what we can't see. We know we can see probably neil high-class stars. I think the rate wolves of anything so far away would be able to say what do virtually impossible and of course we counts as the neutral stars calls. It might be the i. I think the system cut him off as he was but rusty. Thanks for your question. Rusty nuts probably better than space. So i'm not sure but a start started with stellar abundances. So let's let's sort of go there first so rusty should be physically because not so basic astrophysics. Except i'm when we use the term abundances we're usually referring to the mix of chemical elements in the atmosphere of a star. Think what rusty is referring to is. How many styles of different spectra classes the categories. Into which we we put stars which are basically based on their temperature so but rusty. You're absolutely right open. Clusters probably the most studied objects in the galaxy because of what they can tell us and it goes back to the earliest days of astrophysics. When people looked at oakland pluses realized that first of all they were probably seeing things which we're all born at the same time the same age and also. They're all effectively the same distance. So you don't have to worry about any am distance consideration when looking at brightness things and that's why these clusters have been such important bedrocks of the study of physics and i should just. I should just look put the backstory year because we recognize two quite distinct types of star clusters in the world of astronomy and these are of course on a much smaller scale than galaxies which are hundreds of billions of styles an open cluster sometimes called the galactic lawsuit because you see them mostly in the plane the disk of the milky way they typically have maybe a thousand stars hundred two thousand stars the best known to apply to ease the seven sisters the highly cluster. Which is not very far away from the cloud in the sky. These are well-known objects that very very pretty to look through telescopes. And certainly my my favorite things with a telescope because they the twinkle away and space then but they are often still encased in some of the the gas cloud that they were falling from the gas and dust clan photograph. The heidi's with a reasonably decent telescope. You'll see the blue lights which is dust scattering. The light of the youngstown tells us that oakland clusters clusters young. Their ages are measured in millions of years whereas globular clusters entirely different that typically hundreds of thousands to a million stars the big big ones around about a million the two biggest ones in our in our neighborhood of the to an most spectacular ones in the sky actually both in the southern hemisphere only tory and forty seven to county so the quite different subjects. That old exactly as rusty said but they're they have different because we think now that they are the nuclei of dwarf galaxies that have been ripped up by the gravity of our own galaxy in other words. They're remnants of galaxies that have been and gorged into into our milky way so the all the artists styles have been stripped off by gravitational forces. And you're left with this tightly packed nucleus of stars some of which we do know contain black holes so get now a study in their own right and we can't really make comparisons between open clusters globular clusters because they they have two different evil paths open. Clusters being new objects relatively new in the galaxy. Globular clusters being the most ancient that we can. We can find great suggestion. Yeah fascinating thank you rusty. Thanks for your question. Thanks for right. Your support deny if Send us questions many times and yeah they usually caught. Let me put some in a delicate. We've got a few questions to knock over before the end of the year which doesn't give us very long comes from a dime in and i don't know what that means from. But let's see what he's got decide question about space time and matter when we calculate the mass of the sun and the planets does mutants laws of gravitation and einstein's equation of space time. Take into account. Doc meta i guess not since. Newton didn't know about the dark stuff. So does that mean. There isn't any dark matter in our solar system all it is included in the calculations. Then doc matters twenty seven percent and normal mattress five percent is the sun earth a nas most miceli duck meta thanks guys. A great showed damien huxley. Thank you i'm in. Yeah i guess. Newton probably wouldn't have known about doc matt You about a lot of things in working out what he worked at He couldn't have catered for could no. That's right and This essentially which you don't need to that is because we believe on the evidence points to this dark matter on the scale of the solar system is pretty uniform. It's not anything that would cluster near the some so it. It's it's one of the unknowns of dark matter is what kind of particle it is thought to be a heavy subatomic particle. There is a lot. There's a lot of research going on under today. About alternative theories is what might be because all the quest so fun really turned turned up. What what we thought it was. So we're telling you interact with with no matter so yeah it doesn't interact with no matter. So the southern planet sit their unaffected by it but the reason why take it into account in orbital calculations is because of the scale dark matter is uniform on the scandal the solar system. It's a different matter if i put it that way. When you look at the school the scale of the galaxy because the galaxy's clearly it obviously influenced by that that's how we know. Is there because galaxies. Don't behave the way that they should. If all all you can see all there is yeah. So that's the bottom line. It's all about the way that might clumps clumps on the scales of galaxies but doesn't clump on the scale of similar systems. Okay wow i suppose. He's prompted authority my mind so we know it's the we've done exactly what it is. We don't have wide as we don't know how these but is it. Is it like everywhere. I mean i'm sitting in Not so palatial office. At the moment am i surrounded by dr. Yes you are old. And he's not interacting with you or with the radio signals. You know the the sound is not interacting with anything but you are in it. And i am to the ratio of about five to one to normal matter. Exa- clown that means that's incredible. Yeah and bit spooky it it it it is that there are still a move afoot to trying to get rid of it altogether in other words remitted from thinking. Yes because one of the first so back in the nineteen eighty s physicist called molehill room in. He built a theory which is called monde among mondays. Just short for modify tune in dynamics what it sounds is that very very low levels of acceleration us. Laws don't work that it hits. The acceleration doesn't behave the way that we think it dance and you only get low levels of acceleration on scales of the galaxy. You don't get the you know. The levels of acceleration data the planet's field as they are orbiting the sun the far too high for the month theory to be interested in them. But when you get to very low accelerations the suggestion as things are different and that is why we say galaxies rotating in a different way. The problem that monitors all ways had and the reason why it's not universally accepted although there is still researchers working no one of them personally and listen to this podcast. How you doing the reason why. It's not really accepted is because it doesn't seem to work in other situations galaxy clusters and maybe in overall illusion of the universe but the research this being done it may be that we are opening up another new path to understanding what dot is and actually there is a third strand as another colleague of mine who he's working on the idea. That is an unusual form of hydrogen which a northern neglected and not known about this hydrogen is actually won't make something doesn't matter i'm not. I'm not too familiar with that theory. But that's something else opposing along in the background. So the research is ongoing. And it's being in many ways it's being prompted or spurred along by the fact that we haven't found what dot matter is yet and so could well be that one day much of the need for must have disappears altogether and we find that one of these other theories were always a great interesting question. All we got back to question one way a kite said what. Suspense the universe. Doc meta maybe a Damian thanks question fascinating. Let's move onto another question from andrew in. Melvin this one. Blue and andrew wants game. Andrew mitchell from album in utah is very interested in the last aside. Little cigarette one. I'm seventy interesting topics and questions regarding the water alone. I was just wondering whether the an analysis of it water actually tells us anything more about the water in this whole system and where the water from the moon hence the actually came from thinks. I okay. yeah that's a. That's an interesting question to to throw up this. We know now this water on the marin. We've got brand new evidence of of where it's at and there is and I suppose the question of where it came. From in comparison to the earth and everywhere else it is in the solar system and the universe in general. And i'm i'm of the belief that he's an abundant resource Across the expanse of the universe. I think that. I think that will probably be the case. Because if you take in the theory of well if only find what on earth then chances are it might not exist anywhere else but we find it just on. Its on mars. It's on the moon. It's in asteroids. It's it's every way to aid more than that. Andrew m water is the most common element molecule in the universe. The entire universe not just the solar system because we see in gus clouds. We see it in you know. It sounds weird to talk about watering gas clouds. But they cries. Waterberg is that is of all the to element molecules in universe. The most common the most common single molecule in the universe is. He's not too so so we shouldn't be surprised to find it everywhere but the won't point is well made because the what allows you to pinpoint where waters come from something you and i talked about before andrew an great length which is the ratio of normal water to heavy-water heavy-water. Being the one with the the isotope which he called you tyrian. so that ratio is really the the fingerprint the we would use to discover where water has come from and in fact it gives you slightly contradictory results because some of the comments that have been analyzed for the isotope ratio of their water. Some of the match the ratio of the water in the us ocean oceans. And some does so. Maybe some of the wall street in our oceans came from came from comets. But not all of it. As far as i know the water on the moon has not yet been able at least the water near the poles of them. We talked about in particular episode. I don't think it's been studied well enough because we haven't got the ability to do in order to determine that isotope ratio a thing. That's one of the things that's the artemis astronauts will do when they get to the moon in maybe still twenty twenty four. We hope to sample the water. Content of the rocks of the soils of the moon diculeng those regions wedding ever get sunlight and then we can perhaps look at the analysis of the isotopes of workout whether that water is the same as the water on earth for example the same isotope ratio. Something i think is really interesting and something exciting to look forward to absolutely yes indeed. I think it'll be fascinating because the moon as an object has been hammered many times by lots and lots of things so it's possible that the water on the moon got there after it detached from earth and became satellite But by suppose it's also possible that whatever water was existed on earth at the time of the event that created the moon. Men carried that water with it at some. Yeah it'll be interesting to find out which could be both yes from all right andrew. Great question thank you very much now. Final question comes from stave. The bus driver now. This is the only question that freight actually has Been privy to in the in the whole program but it's an interesting question a little bit of a different spin on on astronomy it really gets down to earth quite literally hiding fred. hi andrew. My name's steve. A bus driver. And i have a question for you is when i drive the bus I sometimes open the window and at certain times of the day Sunlight strikes the edge of the window causing a rainbow. And i i know a little bit about it. But i i would like to know more of since some photographs To demonstrate what's happening and Yeah just interesting. Dina a few things like traditional rainbow is round. An act is that because of rain droplets and the droplets around and in my case the rainbow is morally straight line. That's because the windows straight-line and i understand it's a reflection refraction dispersion. These things are going on Interest to nine more scientifically. What's happening and do the colors represent elements in the sun. the sun's elements the hydrogen nitrogen. Whatever the sons my upper Maybe you could tell me a bit more about that. Thanks very much for your work on longtime listener and look forward to hearing the answer. Thank you very much stave. Stave the bus driver Yeah i My and i looked at the photos that he sent through and colors that he gets through the window onto the dashboard. Or wherever and Pretty impressive indeed. Yeah that's what i said. What's happening that steve is. The the edge of the glass is acting like a a prison. It's just when you get sunlight in particular passing through a piece of glass. That is not parallel as window glasses. Then yes it's refracted and is also dispersed. Dispersion is the process that produces the rainbow which we technically call the spectrum. So what you're seeing is a spectrum of the some now. You're you're quite right that it's by looking at such a spectrum that we can detect the elements in in the sun's atmosphere. But you need a bit more than just. The agile window glass needs a device called spectra scope or inspector graph which is which can also use prisons. Buddy it's the way that the light is manipulated inside that lets. It identified the specific small areas of the spectrum where the influence of those elements comes in what they do is they. They might dot lines in the spectrum which we call brownhill for lines after yosef found offer who was the german scientists who worked out going very so the you about the elements in the sun. But they don't show up when you when you just bend the light through you know through a piece of glass fights crystal sometimes does the same often. Some people have a prism as well. Which lies you see. The beautiful colors stunning are they. Are what the colors the colors that you can see. Those steve tell you is about the temperature of the sun so the fact that you can see all the colors of the spectrum tell you it's a star that is omitting most of its energy in the visible region of the spectrum rather than out in the infrared ultraviolet. And that's basically we've evolved so that we are is most well much to that part of the spectrum but but if you're if our son was a cool red star that all the blue and green would disappear inspection just have the red and the orange probably orange yellow and likewise if it was a very hotstar just the bluish cars in the whole spectrum just going to the earlier part of your question about why rainbows curve. But that's a really interesting point and it. It does relate to the rain droplets around. But it's it's not. That's not quite what it's all about. It's that you're looking at a very large number of them so you've got these rain droplets which are in a whole area. The the sun's shining. And what you see then sons behind you when you see a rainbow. You see this curved spectrum of lines that's because each of those raindrops is actually taking the light refracted and also reflects it was a reflection of the black of the raindrops. Why the sons behind you. An disperses isn't so suppose. Intimate spectrum so altogether through an angle of one hundred thirty eight degrees. Which means it's coming back to you because that's near to one hundred and eighty degrees which will be coming directly to ben's it through that angle but it also. This isn't now that is being done by every single raindrop in the whole cloud of raindrops. And that's why you'd see a circle because each one of them he's bending the light through that same angle and what it means. Is that the radius of a rainbow is forty two degrees. It's actually Dictated by hundred and eighteen minus thirty eight degrees. So forty two degrees is the radius of a rainbow and it comes about because everyone is is the all these billions of raindrops but they're all bending the sunlight through that same angle and so get just a single blow of lines. I'm not explaining it very well. All makes perfect sets. And oh thank you. Thank you and i are rather fascinating indeed Thank you dave and stay safe on the road. That brings us to the end. Fred where we done. Thanks to everybody who sending questions audio or text. And while i'm going through the thank you lose. Thank you to the audience. Everybody who listens The tens of you that listen to us now ten now look at a number of things going steadily during the year. We i think at last report Dan light numbers. Young and Old

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Your flight to bristol has been delayed once again for your entertainment purposes. Please listen to the baggage. Claim only monday edition of the baseball tonight podcast with busker old white zone is the voting and loading up passengers only no uncorking in the white zone. It's monday august nineteenth two thousand nineteen and this is the baseball tonight from buster only in williamsport pennsylvania in the who tell just before checking out toy farkas back in bristol troy. How was your weekend really good weekend. Buster not as good as yours and williamsport. I was stuck in bristol but i had a great time so i hope you do too. That's awesome when you're talking about a big party at saturday night. Did you recover from that soon. I did recover thanks to our friends and blowfish. I'm feeling yeah yeah. I did not have that type of party. The little league classic was a party in itself but it was a very different type of party and we'll get to that coming up tim coaching a bit but speaking of saturday the yankees and the indians played in in that game the yankees issues with umpires continued giving listen to this and now josh bard joe ch- is racing out to the play. He's been jack has i didn't see a motion from bannon may but i saw point and i'd say something and josh bard has his arms extended out to the side as if to say what's going on and now brett gardner is out on the field fill arthur has come out of the dugout. He's going after the first base umpire. Phil and phil cozy ejected savannah. I do believe yeah. All kinds of people objected today. Aaron boone was a chicken brett. Gardner was dejected after he slammed his bad against the <hes> ceiling of the dugout c._c._c. Bath lia was injected as dan schulman buksh ambi- described there on e._s._p._n. Radio and after the six five win brett gardner talked about how he feels like he might be getting targeted lately. I feel like they're gonna look in the dugout quite often <hes> i guess this is my first answer to that question and my second answer would be. I didn't think i was doing anything to warrant getting thrown out or even close to getting ojected did so <hes> i can understand coming over there. Maybe telling me to knock it off. You're making too much noise <hes> but to come over there you know kinda. The rabbit ears donna anything just constantly looking for something <hes> i thought it was i thought it was pretty quick and he talked about how this affects the fun of the game. I guess we're trying to make the game fun again. Like a lot of guys say the last few years i'm in. I don't think you want all the guys sitting in the dugout not being able to say anything or make any annoys or anything like that. That wouldn't be too much fun so i'm not saying what i did was right or or what the right answer is to but i i probably won't do it again tomorrow. I got some strong feelings about what is right as we move forward for the yankees because clearly they've had a lot of run ins lately with the empires on sunday the indians bounceback against the yankees winning eight to four a lot of help from my club injure now the two two pitch tall strike three. Hey got it with a pitch that cut the plate in half ford must've thought it was low. The site is struck out in order and we had to the fifth five. Nothing tribe my club. Andrew was outstanding in the last game of that series that from eleven hundred now before the game aaron boone the yankees. He's manager gave an update on luis severino status. This is a big deal of course because of the yankees issue with the rotation the potential matchup against a team like the finance or or like the astros in the postseason continued to be really encouraged and i know you can just tell even talking seventy just how good he feels and and and this has been building now for a while where he's i think starting to really gain some confidence in his mind about being sound being sharp being healthy you uh-huh continuing to take these next steps today getting out there and face hitters for a handful pitches was was big and i thought overall. He looked really sharp. You know the the shape. The slider looks good to me and the ball's coming out free and easy so another encouraging step for him and no you don't want to put the cart before the horse but is there even a loose timetable for him going forward on a potential return to the majors yeah no and i honestly don't know that i haven't even sat with stevie yet and instead when when do we envision like rehab situation or or how we would do that we'll do that more through sim games and then go make a start but he certainly only moving towards that direction he and del and we'll go to tampa and <hes> continue with their their progression in williamsport pennsylvania where brian this morning the cubs and the pirates on sunday played literally classic before that there was a great day of events where the pirates showing i hang out with a little leaguers than the cubs rolling rolling in job madden kris bryant anthony rizzo going down on cardboard on that hill next to the little league facility later in the day when they played the game that was a blow out three to chop through the whole left side abassid rizzo is into score baya's right behind him scores standing up to ron ron single for kyle korver and cubs extend their lead. They are up for nothing. You're in the for that from e._s._p._n. Radio the cubs win the game seven one and by the way a in the ninth inning craig kimbrel activated for this game by the cubs after being on the injured list with some knee inflammation you got a couple of outs wasn't especially sharp but it was a a good first step for him and after the game joe madden and cubs manager talked about his little league classic experience the whole day itself and it's a very tiring day. There's no question <hes> setting up the day game yesterday giving us at least a good night's rest that come here help a little bit worm out there but nobody complained. I'm telling you nobody complained that all getting to this facility ability for me. It's kinda cool because it's minor league. I pretty much am a minor leager in and out so the ballpark the clubhouse everything about it was very familiar to me and i loved it and and i think a lot of the players get that opportunity to take a trip down memory lane just a bit now with that win. The cubs maintained eighteen days virtual tie with the cardinals at the top of the national league central that was because earlier in the day. The cardinals took care of business against the reds five to two with help from tommy edmund. Here's a swing and a high fly ball down the left field line. That's it deep to the corner to the wall and it's a goner just inside the poll aw towering homerun tommy edmund. He's three for three today and that home run gives the cardinals four to one lead john rooney on the the cardinals radio network. Jack flaherty was terrific again. Five innings one run another win is last eight starts fifty and a third innings just twenty five hits. It's and eight zero point eight nine era. I think he's gonna play an incredibly important role for the cardinals is they try to win this division. The mets blew out the royals on sunday. Eleven in a five and peter lonzo hit a big round milestone mo to pitch hammers this ball to left. That's going to be number forty way back. Then van law god pete alonzo becomes just a fourth man ever to have a forty home run season. He's the first national league rookie gita ever do it and now that mix single season franchise homerun record is just away from belonging to alonzo outright eleven to five mets here the night that from w._c._b._s. now the mets didn't gain any ground on the washington nationals at the top of the wild card race because the national beat the brewers sixteen eight brian dosier having a good day now. Does your belts one at the left center field way back to the warning track heading toward the brew house. Red seats is goodbye for brian dosier. It's his second home. Run of the game is third hit of the day is nineteen nineteenth hole run of the season bang zoom goes dosier. It's now the national sixteen <unk>. Four charlie slows on the nationals channels radio network now the weekend news wasn't all great for the nationals they had that absolute slug fest two on saturday the brewers that they lost fifteen to fourteen and on sunday sean sean doolittle had to go on the injured list would need tendonitis. The nationals continuing have bullpen issues. The angels took their business against the white sox ninety two with help from shohei tawny. Here's the delivery grilled in a did centerfield this call hearing veep out there showtime it. It's been a long time coming for shohei otani but israel's one out the dead center field he had had just one homer ulmer and his last thirty three games terry smith angels radio a._m. Eight thirty the twins and the rangers were tied three all top the eighth dinning. It's <hes> in troyes. Rangers tried to win this game but hor- hey polanco came through for the twins and a three three game and a two one pitch line drive right center centerfield. That's a hit tours the gap this will score one this will score to this is going to score. Three here comes mickey around third. He is in political clears triple a. twist tickets six three court probate sunday treasure island baseball network this final score would be six to three final game of the astros in athletics series going for a milestone two hundred to win in the top of the fifth inning alex bregman gave them elite two strike pitch and bregman hits in the deep to left field it sense grossman still back at the wall. He lied and it's got a three run. Hold on for alex crack. Ben and the astros go up three to one robert ford k._b._m. Seven ninety a._m. Exact ranking was still on the mound in the seventh inning kasparov pop tie in the air. This could be a really good any progress with the sun though you never know bregman puts it away and he ends up after an initial hit getting double playing pop up to get through a low pitch count seven it is cool one astro and with that forty one when zack rank he does have two hundred career wins wins in his career red sox against the orioles. Raphael denver's started the day with ninety seven r._b._i. And during the course of the afternoon he became the first. I player to hit over one hundred r._b._i. Pitched to denver's. I deep right field around the pesky pole and gone forth hit of the a day to run home run for roffe diverse. He is over the one hundred r._b._i. Mark and the red sox have exploded this thing. They lead twelve to six f w e ninety three point seven f._m. Boston wins thirteen to seven but there is real concern about chris sales condition in the red talks are bracing for a worst case scenario tommy john surgery. We'll be talking tim kirch in about that the rays and the tigers the raise of course trying trying to go for wildcard spot. They were tied four. All bottom of the ninth inning in this happened. One one pitch swing grumble backup to middle there are schools piece gore's race a race. That's true here the bottom i. I want a two run single raise walking off the case. You didn't hear that the race win. Day will six twenty w d._a. Centerfield tale of the day game today the final game of the series between the braves and the dodgers in atlanta and the top of the first thinning thinning cody bellinger and the dodgers took the lead against max freed bellinger hits one of the year deep to centerfield back goes kunia to the track to the wall he leaps and and it is gone three run homer for balance your that's number forty two kunia look like he might have brought it back for just just a moment but then he got up spiked his glove and that was the indicator that ballinger and hit out. It's three nothing dodgers a._m. Five seventy l._a. Sports but but you know what the braves would come back sacks full one out one to pitch fly ball trust to write back toward the wall got a chance to go. Its it's the grandest hotel rooms. Raphael ortega takes may deepen the sex school and the braves bolt in. It's five to three braves. Says ortega touches home from jim powell six eighty. The answer in mark milan-san was called on to try to close out the dodgers rob on a fair donaldson scott trowel on a day filled with its share of challenges for bryant stick. Your deep sigh of relief pride and satisfaction lanta braves polish off the l._a. Dodgers and where they series at home against it for the first time in six years now that reference by chip carry challenges for braves manager brian snicker as he spoke on the braves television network was related to a situation that happened with ronald kuni junior early in the game. Kuni junior hit a long fly ball to right field. He thought it was out and he thought it was a home run. It wasn't he didn't run hard. He wound wand up at first base and snicker pulled him out of the game. Here's a manager talking after the game about that situation take us through what happened with with the kunia pulling him from a game and run. You gotta run you got you got to you know it's just not gonna. It's not gonna be acceptable here. I mean there's as a teammate you're responsible for twenty four other guys and that that name on the front is a lot more important than the name on the back that jersey and and you just you can't do that. We're trying to accomplish something and do something special here and personal. Things got to be put in the back burner. You know you just you can't let your team down like that. We got this week's quiz coming up with todd radim. We've talked. We've got anthony rizzo and we're going to be talking about chris sale. Let's get to it heads. Rejoice timmy time ah great game or what with tin kurkin on baseball tonight then tim cartoon covers baseball for e._s._p._n. Joins us on the shell pennzoil performance line brought to you by a new shell v power nitro plus premium gasoline now with four levels of defense against gunk where corrosion and friction tim. How're you doing today. I'm i'm great buster on sports. I've three more days years. This is the happiest place on earth so do some games some baseball tonight. I really fun being here. Yeah and we'll talk a little bit about the little league classic coming up here in a second about what we've seen in williamsport but let's start with this s. yesterday brian snicker the manager of the atlanta braves pulling ronald kuni junior his young superstar out of the game and the first thing. I thought of tim when i saw this was this bobby cox. He did the same thing with andrew. Jones with andrew jones was the young outfielder he didn't think he played hard yanked him out of the game and you know i know brian. Edgar goes and visits with bobby cox every chance he gets as he recovers from his ailment and i'm sure bobby cox probably watching that nodding his head. What do you think and buster was notting my head. Yesterday also bryant's knit your did the right thing and look. I can put up with a lot in this game. It's so hard to play you. Make an error striking out four times wars. You can't throw a strike. I understand all of that but i will never understand why you you don't play your hardest every single time you're out. There is very little to ask and yesterday ronald junior. Who's a great kid who plays hard i did not he should have been rounding second on that play instead. He barely got to first base so i applaud ryan snicker and i hope more for managers take note of this because i've been covered for a long time and earl weaver and dick williams they would yell at their players all the time. Nobody you get yelled at anymore. Very few guys get punished anymore and i think it will be good for a player to be reprimanded to be embarrassed. Just like that. The promise you ronald will never that again after his manager took him out of the game so i would like to see you know a little bit harder on these players not softer on these players. That's i think that's the better way to go. These days and i think it was good for bryan. Winston curtis speak very directly about about this to the media not leave it. You know that's in house and not going to talk about that and are not because we need an explanation because i think his players probably he knows his players wanna hear that guys like nick more cake and freddy freeman and the veterans hearing directly from him that this player is being held accountable publicly because of course he represents all of them when he plays like that right you're right and it shows badly on the manager when a player doesn't play the game the right way and it shows badly on the veteran players on that team and if i were freddy freeman i would go to him and say ronald man dan. You're a great player. We love you can't do that again because we all look bad when you do something like that all right tim the big looming story on on this monday morning the status of chris sale. What we know is dave dombrowski. The head of baseball for the red sox told reporters that it's clear that he was injured in his last start on tuesday he had an m._r._i. On friday he did not go to the ballpark did not me with reporters whatever they saw on that m._r._i. They sent it to dr james andrews and today chris sales going to meet with james andrews and you know this james andrews long history as a connection with baseball has mostly been built on the fact that he does elbow reconstructions and today a car sales meeting with him and i know from talking with people in the industry they see a lot of red flags on this and they were not be at all surprised. If the ended the day we hear that chris sale needs tommy john surgery which would be devastating eighty not only for the red sox and their flagging hopes for making the playoffs in two thousand nineteen but he would be out all of two thousand twenty and they're all kinds of complications moving moving forward. What do you make of this whole chris sale situation well. This is very discouraging and in the you know the pitching vernacular these days we all know this. It's a cliche now. The two worst words in the pitching manakin there are dr andrews and if you go see him. It's usually really bad news. I unfortunately think this is going to end up as tommy john surgery and you're right. This is such bad news for the red sox. Not just for making the playoffs offs this year which was faint to begin with the next year now they lose their best pitcher potentially for an entire season and a good lesson here buster last two starts for chris sale walks twenty five strikeouts and now he might need tommy john surgery just another reminder that there's no telling only when this is going to happen or where this is going to happen but when it does we've all learned you better get this taken care of. If you're going to be the pitcher you wanna be longterm. Oh my god i mean complications coming out of this situation. It's a long list you think about this. In two thousand twenty twenty one twenty two the red sox are committed to pay chris sale david price and nathan of all the about eighty million dollars and as we sit here today we're wondering being if chris sale is going to have tommy. John surgery might be at all of next year. David prices had some physical issues he turns thirty four later in august nathan of all these pitch and only thirty six and a third it innings and no one knows what he's going to contribute going forward and with that much money committed to uncertainties in the rotation and might lead to them making a ah difficult decisions and you keep on hearing it from executives other teams they think the red sox are going to earnestly market mookie betts in the trademark. Get this winter because of doubts whether or not he's gonna resign with the team before heading becoming a free agent after next season so all the financial crunch crunch from these potential injuries in the rotation. It's huge for this team moving forward. You might think the red sox are ever going to be a team. That's going to go for a full on rebuild but you know what <hes> they may have some tough decisions to make this winter because of what we're seeing here right and maybe the sign at the trade deadline. Last oster was assigned to see a whole lot or the red sox ill. He didn't do anything big at the end of the trade deadline. Maybe that was the signal that they know walk is coming here that instead of being the monster team. They've been for the last couple of years. They're going to be a team that has to go into slightly different direction because of contracts situation and because of injuries and everything else that the best thing i think is real the fact that he wasn't involved all that all those star players signing long term extension. Maybe that means they have to look at him and say boy. We'd love to keep him long-term but if he's not interested insane here. Maybe we have to look into the trademark trading mooks bats. I mean what an enormous thing that would be. I'm not ready to believe that's going to happen but red sox are in a different position now than they were. You know a year ago that's for sure yeah they won the world series last year but it at enormous cost and terms of prospects in salary and the credit card bill is definitely come and do <hes> tim on saturday another confrontation between the yankees and the empires aaron boone. Our friend was ejected. Brett gardner was injected after slamming his bat against the ceiling. C._c.'s about the it wasn't even on the active list. He was injected as well and after the game after brett gardner subjected erbakan talked about how there's no rule against smashing bats in the dugout. You have not gotten any word that he can't do that with the bat no are. Are you concerned at all that i'm buyers are going to start looking for things since you've had more than a few of these i mean it's a little bit like that happened today and it it is our job to to play under control and and you know as best we cannot cross cross line into because certainly we don't want players getting kicked out of games. I don't like getting kicked out of games <hes> but you know what when you're playing a lot sometimes and we're locked unlike we are sometimes in the heat of value get a little passionate and can spill over a little bit and tim. I have strong feelings about what happened on saturday. I i think it's time for the yankees did get under control a few years ago you know that great toronto blue jays lineup with jose bautista and josh donaldson and other guys they developed a really bad reputation with the empires and i always thought that it wanted costing them that the empire's just got sick of their complaining and after watching this with brett gardner partner the other day and you know he was upset because look. I didn't say a word and i kicked out of the game. Oh stop slamming dugout are slamming the top of the dugout with a bad as is everyone knows who's very passive aggressive way of complaining about the strike zone. It's not a surprise at this point because we've seen it repeatedly that phil cozy saw it and reacted to it and injected brett gardner and it's time for the yankees to adjust to what's going on in the how pirates are handling them. What do you think yeah look love brett gardner so does everybody else tough little guy gotten this far with a pretty good career because of his passion and his intensity but i had a one of his former teammates the other day look where it's just tired right now that act is tired and i would agree with that and this is where the yankees i agree with you buster. Mr just have to be careful here that this can't be a spat with the umpires all the time now. They're forty games over five hundred. They don't need to do <music> this. They're better than this. The one thing you can have as you're trying to beat the astros and the dodgers and all these other good teams to win. World series is you can have the empires as something that is working against you on any level so i would agree that it's time for for especially brett gardner. Just calm down a little bit. Let's play the game and not have the umpires having anything against them. Moving forward speaking <music> of aaron boone the other day and meeting with reporters on friday. This is after the day after eighty one thousand nine to five loss to the indians in which he used designated hitter mike ford for two innings as of relief <hes> he floated the idea of a mercy rule quote from our from bony you get to this point after seven innings or whatever there might be something to that some merit to that and worth exploring because it's not fun to have to put in a position player in that kinda situation and i gotta tell you old fashioned old old school baseball fans would not like the idea of pies or some kind of a mercy rule but i think if you were to privately poll executives staffers around baseball baseball they will love for something like that to be put in place. What do you think <hes>. I would agree with how executives and managers would look at it. Baseball is ball's not going to allow this to happen there ties there no seven games or gonna play all night and frankly <hes> in favor of that however her buster. This has gotten ridiculous. It used to be the coolest thing and nobody loved it more than i do went a pitcher when a position player had to pitch it happened two or three times hugh and it was cool and it was fun and no longer cool and fun. We've had over fifty position players pitching in a game this year. It is a tired act now but what you this fall behind because your bullpen is exhausted because we don't value oh. You are starting pitchers anymore. Now you gotta put a catcher into pitch and russell. Martin pitched in two games this year that the dodgers one that is not healthy. It's not healthy that three position players pitched in four or more games this year because of the way we're handling our pitching staff so so i think booty makes a very interesting point. I think a lot of people would go along with that. I don't think there'll be any traction to trust me. Major league baseball all will think about this moving ahead. Is this something we should at least consider so every year. When we had the little league classic classic and the major league team show up williamsport you expect that the players are going to be great and tim. They still managed price you how great they are yesterday. Take the cubs when they arrive anthony rizzo and manage you joe maddening kris bryant and other sliding down that hill at the little league complex complex on cardboard that was so cool all the interactions between the players and the little leaguers dirksen pro fars brother told me a great story last night how how when josh bell saw him look at his face and said hey you look exactly like jerks and profile your brother right and he told me that starring genetic riddick profile has had the biggest smile on his face the players asking you literally questions joe muss grove asking the little leaguers hey. What's it like to play in a ballpark where you get twenty. Thousand people in the lights are on and there's so much attention and joe at a big smile as you related what the players are saying. Oh it's it's no big deal. You know it's cool being on e._s._p._n. For our games again you get these great moments in this interaction between the major leaguers and the little leaguers i yeah yesterday was fabulous buster and again that interacted as what that sunday is all about is even more important than a real major league a game played here. Anthony result came in on the bus yesterday with those kids that they were singing fight songs and everything else and then anthony rizzo stood up on the bus and and sang the song centerfield for all those kids as they laughter for preventive chris. <hes> archer came in with the with a bunch of kids love of course so he's going back and forth with the kids. The kids who looks chris archer goes aren't you the guy that gives up all all the home run yeah. That's me and then when google went down. The hill was dollar surprise 'cause he told me there is no way i'm going to williamsport and not doing down that hill on a piece of cardboard that was priceless and kris bryant some wizards. Go down on video video and said i that's it. I'm going down to like. He's not gonna be the only one to enjoy this and before long. A whole bunch of cubs went down. The hill including the manager andrew by the way is older than me. I'm only surprised that joe didn't go down standing up being the adventuresome person that he is a joe must grow was just priceless yesterday talking to those kids he's standing out on the field and one of the little leaguers just just pointed his glove at joe musk rove bove as if to say you wanna play catch so now joe musk rove is play catch with a kid on the team for mexico. It was just a tremendous tend to stay. All the way around. Yeah job-related a great story to me elliot's d. as to catcher for the pirates <hes> met with the players in venezuela. We're d- as as is from and of course there's been so many troubles in venezuela according to researchers there are no parents here from venezuela they could not get travel visas to come to this event then force even some of the players there was difficulty getting visas to come to this event to diaz is someone who according to joe has worked so hard to help the situation shen in venezuela raises money to buy cows to help get food to people that he knows in venezuela joe said that eleusis collects shoes from the clubhouse and he sends it back to venezuela to help anybody you need shoes back there and the way related look the way that he was talking to the kids from venezuela and the way that they were looking at him that was just so moving and there were just so much that connection between between the players and the little league jesse was really neat in the midst of all that it was the first time that we had a little league classic where the game really meant something because israeli in the day tim the saint louis cardinals win behind jack flared. He's been terrific of late. The cubs win so they maintain a virtual tie. What do you see in the ashley central as we move forward because i personally think now the jack flared is on a roll with an era below one in his last nine starts. I think the cardinals have a real advantage. What do you think <hes>. I disagree. I think the cubs are still the best team in the division now that may that doesn't mean the cardinals can't win. They're right there. The bruins gonna win. They're right there. This is a three team race. Do you really think the brewers can win man with that pitching staff so beaten up it's so beaten up and and yet i don't see the cardinals or the cubs good enough to pull away from the brewers. I think the cubs have the best team in the division still because their air starting pitching it hasn't been dominantly. I mean cantata was great last night's darvish to walk sixty three strikeouts and like his last six starts lesser. It was good the other night and they're gonna hit more they have to because they haven't much lately now. They got kimbro backs but but the cardinals played awfully well here lately especially since that's the all star break clarity's studies the hottest pitcher in the league right now so the cardinals have every chance to win this thing. I think it's going right to the end and i'll stick it with the cubs for the moment yeah the big change nosy can tano and fourteen strikeouts in his previous start before last night last night seven scoreless innings. He's working to the the top of the strike zone and he's pounding the top of the strike zone taking advantage of the generation launch angle and clinton hurdle. Tim said after the game that was the best that he's ever seen jose container right and again with him and lester and hidden and darvish especially. That's what i like. Most about that. Team is starting pitching the rest of it has to come around and it's going to be a great race in the central. Okay before you go poll question for this week. Which of these four potential world series matchups would be the most watched cubs indians which of course be a rematch of the two thousand sixteen world series the astros us and the dodgers which would be a rematch of the two thousand seventeen world series yankees and cubs or the yankees and the dodgers and of course the reason why i asked this the question begin next sunday. We've got the yankees and dodgers on sunday night. Baseball looks like clayton kershaw is gonna make a start that night of those potential matchups which would be the most watched. I would say would be yankees. Dodgers and the yankees are the greatest team in the history of major league baseball. I don't think there's a way around that certainly make a case. The dodgers are the best team in the history of the national league debatable certainly but given that the dodgers have lost in the world series as the last two years given that the yankees ever been to the world series in ten years given the star power on both of these teams and given the power power or on both of these teams. I think that would be the most watched but every one of those other ones you mentioned would be great world series matchups match-ups. I'd root for any of those but i think more people would watch dodgers yankees than anything. I think most of the people answering the poll agree with you. I actually think yankees thank you can clubs would be the most watch rematch when that fascinating one thousand nine thirty two world series team the first one that you covered. Thanks for doing this. Thank you soon a little league classic after the game last night. Anthony rizzo was on sports center with mike leaves give listen. Let's talk about that home run because that was key so you guys <hes> anthony to get this win and get this road series win because you're trying to maintain pace there in your division. Take us through that. What what did you see that home. Run <hes> she's got fastball over didn't try to do too much and put a good swing on it and feels good. It feels good to win last two games. We haven't been playing great on the road but we've been battling and to to win the series. Finally it's been a while. I know it's been a while now how long it's bamba <hes> it feels good to win a roads. Here's we hear that all been in baseball. Try not to do too much but this was a special circumstance. You guys going their way for being in front of all. Those kids and i know deep down. You don't want to put a show on for the anthony. What was that experience like for you. It was cool. It was going there. <hes> to the little league world series was to see how the excitement on the kids faces to see them just playing the right way. Take an infield field before the game the coaches before the game. The ceremonies was really cool on <hes> something. I'll look back and remember for a long time. Just how special we we just showed the video of you sliding down the hill any nerves about your form going down that hill yeah you know when you watch as a kid. I always wanted to come to williamsport. I never got to come and then you always see everyone sliding down that hill when we got there i was up there. We go down. This hill is like no one's done. We'll doing it so it was awesome. How about this though your the parents actually made it to williamsport before you did two years ago your mom and dad. John and lori were honored as literally parents of the year. They make the winds before oh you do but you hit the home run. How special is this place based on what your parents told you and now that you've experienced it for yourself. They loved it and that was an honor for them to win. The parents of the year i mean as as parents when i was growing up did everything for my brother and i to provide us with any sport. We wanted to play and i couldn't think them enough but <hes> i was saying it was my first little league home run again high fuster only here and my friends at marathon really helping you save because right now you can get five cents off every gallon every day with count rewards from baratheon plus. Dot com slash buster so todd with the players weekend. We can coming up. I was gonna ask you thinking about this this morning. Because when we watch batting practice caps of course backward you might wear them little bit cockeyed occupied for sure. Is there actually a rule about the way a player must wear as cap well plus dissipation of this and you gave me a heads up that we might discuss it. I looked up the official rules section. Three point zero three player uniforms goes through all kinds of things <hes> about the fact that they must conformed to their various teammates no advertising at least for now sleeve length but there is nothing about how baseball caps aren't to be worn so <hes> it opens up the discussion ken griffey junior backwards. Jimmy williams with a flat brim. What are you got yeah. I remember the first time ever heard you know saw someone wearing their had a little bit differently. When i was at vanderbilt they had left handed pitcher named how nurk who was excellent with a pickoff move and he told me that he had a little bit cockeyed making it look like he was looking at first base when he was actually looking at home plate to confuse the runner but then you write about about a decade later ken griffey junior got a lot of attention by wearing his cap backward during batting practice. You've got a lot of criticism. You've got some players. Were like to wear the flat brim cap. Then fernando rodney's sort of wears it off center. I'm actually surprised todd that we haven't had a situation where guy runs out to center field. He's got his <music> atom backwards. Yeah you know the only analogy situation that i can think of buster is if you recall back in <hes> oh my goodness nineteen ninety eight when the seattle mariners their turn ed clock game that set the tone for all other teams doing it or many other teams the following season <hes> griffey had in his cap on backwards the some of the players including j buehner had their uniforms talked all out of the <hes> the white sox of the seventies and <hes> yeah and and and i recall the <hes> the the umpires i think made him made the guys with the backwards caps. Turn them around but <hes> i'm thinking didn't buck showalter have some things to say about griffey or feedback as to buck comes up a lot here on cap talk by the way between the the diamondbacks all <hes> we had some oriole so maybe we need to bring him. I liberty parents at some point but yeah it's interesting. There are no <hes> no harper and you know. Let's face it you and i- choi can <hes> jump in on this you know curving. Your cap was quite the thing. <hes> doesn't seem to be the case anymore and also to me. The structure of the caps has changed the onfield cap up there now more i call them. Lincoln like very stove stove pipe ish go straight up not as fit as they used to be. Yeah i and i gotta tell you i i kinda love it. If a because we just heard earlier read gardner talking about how there's no rule that he knows he can't slam your bad against the ceiling feeling of the dugout. I'd love it if a player on players weekend would run out to center field this cap on backwards and the empires. Hey turn your cap around if the response of the player was. There's no rule against that troy. What do you think i'd kinda like to see that this weekend. I would like to see that and also i saw my brother was a college baseball player player and i wanna know buster. If you have an insight here so my brother took the way he works has so seriously that he would tie rubber bands around his new hat whenever he got ought to force the brim to curve and stay that way. Do players do things like that. You know i don't know about that. I have had players have asked the guys who have the flat brim how they wear that and how they keep that and they talked about having to to make sure that it's not deformed in any way and they're very serious about that practice but i haven't heard anyone talk about using rubber bands man. That's taking medications they but yeah and your brothers kind of next level on that todd. Would you like to see that. I'd love to see a player run out with his cap on backwards. Let's do it and you know the ken griffey junior there were people who want to see him with backwards cap on his hall of fame plaque such a signature. Get your thing but a help or excuse me heck for players weekend. <hes> you know individuality is is going to be the thing here so much splits in jacksonville. You know some personality into the whole thing yeah and todd. Let's bring marketing into it of new era. I mean that only draw attention to their caps right. I mean i mean that wouldn't they go into the mantle of any publicity is good publicity. Nuclear would probably like the players to run out with the big sticker on the brim to but i don't think that's going to happen all right. Let's get to this week's quiz all right guys here. We go <hes>. I have a stadium question. It's not an a._b._c._d. So here we we go name the only current m._l._b. Stadium that made its debut in the eighties. I have a tiebreaker the only current m._l._b. be stadium that made it debut in the eighties. Wow trae want to go first on that one. Oh my gosh <hes> made its debut in the eighty and i think this one's a little tricky and i'm kind of. I'm kind of excited about it so anyway go ahead. Troy is pretty sure i got it is is it and i don't even know if it's called. It's roger center right the skydome. Is it that one toronto yeah that's it. That's the one all right. Here's a tiebreaker. I break because we didn't get it. You know it's it's roger center in toronto nineteen. Okay good okay. I thought for a segue both missed it okay but go ahead sorry name the only current m._l._b. Stadium made its debut in the seventies boy. What do you mean i go. You're the one i i just went you go. Let's see here in the seventies in the seventies in the seventies boy. Oh boy oh boy <hes>. Let me see here just off the i'm just running through the teams in the back of my mind which team it could be <hes> seventies seventies seventies. Gosh you know what troy dino it. Are you locked in on oh. I guess yeah it's the ballpark in kansas city. I'm gonna guess miller park. Wow i win. One blustered correct kansas city royals stadium. Whatever you wanna call it nineteen seventy-three. Yes yeah i listen to that all star game nineteen seventy-three when they had the first one there and this this is where todd being older really paid off because they're not miller park was like hundreds of years later already thinking troy. I don't know i'm surprised i pulled out the rogers center. Well all right. We're going to have a youth. Centric question found the whole thing out then i now now when we when we say when we say the seventies for troy that's like the mesozoic here the answer that question all right todd before you go. I know you had a great experience in texas over the weekend. I did a personal milestone which i'll have to get back on next year so yesterday i went to see the rangers and twins and arlington <hes> big shout out to <hes> alex and to crystal into raw that the rangers and the club for their hospitality so i have now seen games all thirty current m._l._b. Parks plus twenty two defunct m._l._b. parks <hes>. It was good experience. It was about <hes> one hundred thirty eight degrees but <hes> <hes> everything's bigger down here in texas and it was really fun only the rangers. That's what i like to hear todd. Yeah check the box. I mentioned your name off. Yes love that very nice you you check the box you went to the ballpark and i'm sure after you went there and sat in that <hes> that he that you agree with the idea idea of having a new ballpark. It is going to be spectacular. It's going to be air conditioned <hes> yes. I'm gonna go back exactly a year from now and i will not the worst my waiting sweat and hopefully i bring the club better luck. We'll see what happens all right well. I'll talk to you next week all right guys. Thanks a lot leisure tweets k plus. We got some bleach tweets here on this monday. The first one comes from austin claire air at big red one zero four four bobby cox was ejected one hundred fifty eight times in the regular season as aaron boone going to be the next bobby ah i think he would be honored to be the next bobby cox and it's funny because you know a lot of bobby cox's injections were about protecting his players and backing up his own players and that's what aaron boone gets injected for. He's back in his players. You can see how his players really like it but no i think bobby cox numbers untouchable. I don't think bobby cox would whatever <hes> refers players. The savage is in that box. Next one comes jonathan jackal jackal why don't teams forfeit when they entered down big and using position players here's to pitch major league baseball feel too good about that like all of a sudden manager comes out and say we're done an hour and a half down six. It doesn't look very good. We're going to get on the plane. We're going to head down to texas right now. I don't think major league baseball would go for that with fifty thousand people sitting in the stands that would be like going to music concert and like after two songs the lead singer you know we just don't have it tonight. We all that that's not gonna happen yeah. That wouldn't be very fun. Next one comes from rick gabler at rick gabler. Hey buster is one soto auto experiencing the most under the radar start to a career that you've ever seen what rick i do agree with you. It's amazing because what one on soto is demonstrating at the age of twenty is something you never see where you have. I mean we've seen guys put a big number but we've never seen i think a young hitter who's was put a plate discipline at that age you know for the guy to have an on base percentage over four hundred to have an idea of the strike zone and to be hitting with power. That's a pretty unique. You do see guys like trout. Get off the great starts. News careers mellat <hes> players like that but it takes them some time to get the plate discipline and it's remarkable. How good is played. Discipline is so early in his career. Man sotos twenty denver's twenty-three getting over one hundred r._b._i. I'm just working with view on this podcast. Gosh yeah next generation. Get it done now. Cross sweat brings. The last one at school of sweat teams in quote rebuild rebuild mode. What is the attitude of the players in the current roster. They know the part of the team's future so are they just grateful to be in the majors hoping that they show something and catch on somewhere else defined exactly right and i've covered some bad teams in the past you know ninety three padres at one hundred and one losses that year and i think that attitude you described described his exactly how most of the players felt if they were smart. That's how they would feel they would recognize on a bad team might be a fringe player but i'm getting an opportunity to show what i can do and to demonstrate what <hes> what i can offer moving forward you remember the reliever added to that ninety. Three padre team turned out to be pretty good as he moved up the ranks for middle reliever too closer trevor hoffman wind up in the hall of fame not bad good tweets this morning. Please keep them coming. Use the hashtag bleacher tweets. That's it for today. Might thanks to anthony rizzo to todd radim to tim coach in detroit. Farkas is bringing the heat every day. "Really FM this is up grade episode. Two hundred ninety four today show is brought to you by Lynn Odom Dash and express VPN. My Name. Is Mike Kelly. I'm joined by Jason Now Jason Snow. I'm Mike early and a week down. You know that doesn't work as well when you don't know how many weeks are left. Strangest enough a one down. Yeah Oh it was definitely down can mock on the wall you know the Moon Week has done and you can put that. Yep Fact I believe that was week five so we got to finally after making four and a gate latches downward on our wall. We now make one across excellent the Hashtag snow toll question from David. David wants to know Jason. You're a sports fan. You watching any sports replace and Sarah. Anne Live Games on right now. Oh you know there are no podcast as I feel more. Sorry for than sports custos. Oh Yeah right and I feel bad for sports writers and and yes so rough like that his rough because your whole subject matter has has ceased like if apple came out and said we're JUST GONNA. We're going to skip this year out. It's not we would be let trouble we. I don't think we would be though because people would still be using their technology every day to do their jobs. This is what all computers just turned off a year. I mean we have no one could use in regards to Picasso Distribution. But yes indeed but I I so supporters that I've seen have been Pretty they're trying to be really creative. And and that's great and coming up with in talking about history and interviewing people and doing profiles of people like are they staying in shape. And what are they planning in slowest speculation? But it's really hard because there's a whole industry that is shut down and if you cover that industry that's really rough. I have watched one sports. Replay a couple of weekends ago. I put a world series game giants World Series Game. From two thousand twelve on in the background and just kind of it was nice to have the rhythm of a baseball and baseball announcers stuff happening. But that's all that I've done mostly because I've just had other stuff to do and and and I I might yet do that again just to get that feeling because you know baseball's my favorite sport and a couple of weeks ago. We should've started again after the whole winter of offseason. And instead there's no baseball and there's no sign that there'll be baseball anytime soon and it's really depressing honestly but I haven't yet rectified. That with With very many replays I have some radio. Some old radio broadcasts from the early part of the previous decade when the giants were in the playoffs and world series. And all that. And I've been thinking about playing those because then they can just be in the background and the TV. I'm not sure a replay of an old sports game or match or whatever is holds my attention enough for it to be on TV if that makes any sense like if it's playing out in real time. And I know what happened and I'm like that's a level of focus that I don't think I could provide putting it on the background. If I'm in a scenario where I could have it on in the background but not super paying attention to it. I might do that and radio. Similarly is actually pretty good at just having it on the background and getting the sort of pleasant vibes of the sport going on even though it's not without right focus because I'm not going to spend three hours focusing on a baseball game that I know everything that happened in it. Yeah it kind of takes it out a little bit exactly like that. Might be a couple of games. You really important games to you that you might WanNa Watch that way. So that's I did. I did one of those. And actually there was another game that I watched of some of the last two or three innings of and it was a world series game. That was very dramatic and teams. Were on there like last strike to win the world series and then saved it came back and it went back and forth. It was in a in twenty eleven and during that game I was game. Six of the twenty eleven world series. I was doing a podcast and so I'm just doing a podcast with the TV on in the background silent and every time one of these incredible swings in fate happened. I couldn't react right so I'm sort of silently going well. We're having talk about like A. I don't know a science fiction novel. Or something like that for the incomparable and I had never watched that game other than in silence while recording a podcast and so I did actually watch the last three and three innings or whatever of that just to see all the drama that happened and actually hear the announcers talk about it because I would miss that so that's too but but in general it's I like the idea of reliving past sort of sport things but it doesn't. It doesn't really work for me because I don't want to focus on I can't focus on it because it's There's not enough there for me to to apply my focus too so I'm trying to consider ways of using it as just just background sound to make it feel a little more normal and this was the Shia that managed. You know we're going to get into F one seriously after watching the excellent that flex documentary drive to Survive of SAF wonka canceled. But something that's happening. In F one is the law of the races like the the actual Formula One drivers of racing in the Formula One video game and jamming it. And that's happening in a lot of different sports. Where like the actual people that play the sports or playing video games of the sports which is also kind of funny because some good but some of them are not bright and say you get this like one of some of the Best Formula One race drivers cannot play the game and it adds it kind of messes things up a little bit which is fun. Yeah that's good. They're doing that with Major League Baseball is having baseball players. Play the MLB. The show game and similar thing. I'm not watching that but I'm seeing some highlights of that. I think are kind of fun and in the newspapers I should also say the newspapers and local sports websites around here. There are a few different. Sim Season's going on. Where like the San Francisco Chronicle is using a baseball game? And who is simulating? They're they're simulating the entire season as it was originally scheduled and so they will every day. Have a little report about what happened yesterday. And what the current standings in quotes are which I think is another fun. It's a fun idea And they've even had a couple of things where they've had the local broadcasters broadcast kind of the they're calling the video game as if it was a real game which is Kinda Fun but again. It's not that fun like I get it and it's a nice idea and if you want to hear those voices and all that but it's not something fun to tide you over if you're looking for it but I think a lot of people wouldn't necessarily them be like oh I won't find something else to do at the time I was GonNa Watch baseball. And it's nice to have the option by the way if you're missing racing at all then There are hours of gels marble runs on Youtube for you to watch. Have you seen more runs? Have seen those. Yeah they're the best is the best because everything that is true and not true about sports. Because you watch it's great. The announcers are great. They just had a new thing. Where they they have a partnership with an auto race circuit. Which is what formally I think. And what I'll say is you find yourself telling stories and narratives about the greediness of the competitors and getting really excited when one competitor does well and really excited with one. Another competitor fails and the other part of your brain is saying but they're just marbles they're not real. This is literally the mob yellow one. Marbial one yes marb Olympics but they had to change the name because the Olympic Games didn't appreciate the Marble Olympics are the Marble Olympics are also great. It's just people if you haven't seen gels marble runs. Just go. Watch it if you miss sports especially because it's truly amazing it. Yeah I love it and yes. They are just marbles. That's part of the fun of it. Is that you get really into it. And then and the announcer will say things like. Oh really smart. Move there by so and so and you're like the marble that's great okay. That seems like a little fun. I'm GONNA have to find. One of these aren't up. Thank you so much David getting in that snow. Talk question if you'd like to send in a question to start the show just tweet the Hashtag Snow Talk. It'd be included in a list for future consideration unless we show you mentioned that rumors making you feel some sense of normality because the rumor mill continues to move on and it is moving on further so I wanted to give some additional details and kind of corporations that came out of the Montgomery and Debbie Ruse iphone twelve article from last week so there is a Youtuber. Everything apple pro who is shown off? Elite schematic of the upcoming iphone. Twelve Pro Max. This is expected to have been generated sometime in January and was kind of leaked out foxconn given to a case manufacturers and sold it on so it cooperates a lot of rumors that we spoke about last week. So we've got the flat sides Of The iphone twelve pro Max but the actual device will be thinner down from Like it's like a two seven point four millimetres from eight point. One millimeters screen is bigger. So there will be significantly reduced vessels on the next phones. Like a four percent reduction based on his schematics which is really interesting. I really think about the IPHONE. Getting Reduced Basil's like is the thing that's happening by other manufacturers. But this wasn't really something that I considered so I'm I'm intrigued to see what that's going to end up looking like and how that's going to be usable with. This is the case changes to the camera bump so instead of it being that like multi tiered thing right now where you've got the square and then the lenses stick out on the top that's just going to be flat and then also something is intriguing. Is that the SIM card trays. Apparently moving to the other side. And there's some kind of connector of some description that appears to be on the other side of the device. Some people were saying smart connect us. Some people are saying that it isn't But it's just intriguing to see this device. I think the thing. That's the most I'm most excited about here. Is like the physical changes so it gets the this one which is the promise getting bigger and thinner and the Basil's like I'm. I'm really intrigued to see what that ends up looking like. Yeah I I think like we talked last week. The shape of this is exciting. Right in there have been people have done. Three D. markups of it was like okay so take the IPAD pro design and making a phone. And what does that look like an answer? It looks great lex great. Let's do this so I like to see that. It's moving ahead here and global economics aside which they kind of can't be put aside right like nobody really knows how this is going to go but this is the kind of thing in the before time that we would have looked at it and said this will also drive a big spike in iphone sales. Because it's a a a substantially new looking iphone and a lot of people. Wait to buy a new iphone until there's a new looking iphone that just new backs don't matter to a lot of people they want one. That looks different from their last one and this is that which is exciting if there are people to buy iphones right. That's the big question mark but normally you would look at this and say this is the kind of iphone release that drives sales spike from the iphone line. I think it well like the people have been saying about this design and is interesting because I wouldn't have even assigning considerable of these changes that it will make the iphone. Look even more modern because it had that really thin basil design which is appearing all over the smaller market. Right now right. So that is an intriguing thing at least to think that maybe apple is continuing to push the design language right like if the notch gets smaller and if the Basil's get smaller the screens get bigger. The phones get thinner like this is GonNa be a very big year for the iphone or not like I mean. That's the thing right. Yeah it does sound like it. It sounds like in terms of progression of the IPHONE. That the iphone twelve th that we're gonNA just so I- se came out right And we'll talk about that but that is a six six seven eight phone. And then we've got the ten ten as- eleven pro design and this is going to be if these rumors are all right like that is an era and then this is a new era where they don't look like that. So we're we're moving every time that happens a big deal and that sounds like you know and then yes. There's also the ten are eleven kind of style that continues to exist and will continue to exist. But they're iterating and moving us away from the iphone Ten we could call it style. Yeah and that's That's a big deal because that doesn't every year people expect apple to apple doesn't do that every year apple. Does that every three or four years and this would be. I think like Morris than the IPHONE. Six design go right like over the life of the IPHONE ten design. It feels like it might go through more interruptions that way So that's that's intriguing. The moving I think from from my perspective moving to a different physical design an adaptive physical design quicken and I thought they would have when the iphone ten was first introduced those also report from a gun. Woo at Bloomberg about Apple's high end headphones the upcoming headphones. The head pods And apparently they're going to conclude interchangeable pots so quote from the article the Air Pads and headband padding attached to the frame with the use of magnets so they can be replaced by the USA. Prototypes of the headphones. Have A RETRO. Look oval-shaped Ear Cups. Swivel and a headband. Connected by thin metal arms. The arm stem from the top of the ear cups rather than from the sides. This is not the design language is expecting but now I've heard it makes more sense. I was assuming that it would be plastic. These headphones will be plastic to match the kind of episodes style. But then now I think about us they will look like beets and Apple. Probably doesn't do that so this is going to be a very different looking thing with more metal in them than I would have expected. At least exposed there is expected. There is predicted to be two models of these headphones while my premium fabrics and one with lighter breathable materials sports. But you may be able to kind of Apple. Watch style by these interchangeable parts and just swap them out for doing so. This is a this is becoming a more interesting and I think advanced product than I was expecting it to be based on this report Yeah I mean I don't know I'm kind of proceeding under the assumption. Now that we're watching apple taking multi stage process to with the success of air pods to basically say W- you know it's time to make a line of headphones branded as apple and then beats can go away. You think that they'll have beats go away ultimately I do I think it'll take time But I think step one is. Can the apple brand handle its own headphone line? Yeah because the air pods is we've talked about before the air pods has been so successful. It's one of the most successful products. Why would you not put your foot to the gas there and say like more do as many as we can but I think if they can do that it does call into question why the beachline exists because they could just integrate the same kind of product line? You know maybe maybe not but in the long run apple has not shown that they're really great and maintaining a you know a parallel brand. That's not an apple brand but is owned and operated by apple especially if apple also makes products in that category. I just don't I just don't see how that can withstand in the long run but again it doesn't have to be this year. It could be a few years down the line as they You know the right way to do it would probably be the just grow. The apple headphones line to the point. Where the beachline doesn't make sense anymore. Instead of having guests be sad that it's gone they won't care because all the apple products are there yet. I think they will probably keep around until that point right. But then they'll keep that brand around if it's being absolutely you know eaten alive by the pods and episodes products right like that line of products like all the other things that moves around as the head pods and potentially sport versions of all of those devices because as you say apples onto a winner though to keep just keep pushing it and see how many types of headphones they can make with this technology because the brand is so strong that it's almost ipod like right with its with how strong air pods brand is to just keep those keep pushing it. I mean I would be intrigued to see what they will actually call these over is like I. I don't know how they would include an air pods name into them but it wouldn't be surprised if they did right. Yeah no I think. I think it's most likely just because the brand name is so strong they'll be you know apple air pods complete or Air Pods X. Pods Pl- yeah I mean that's what it will be. Yeah we'll wait. I thought air pods meant little things you stick in your in your ears and apple will say not anymore when we wanted to. Yeah because that's the truth of it right. Is People be like well? Actually we define air pods as being an apple. No and then everybody else will be like all right. I guess that's not what it means anymore. It's their word. It's their product. If they redefine it people will just go along with it. Like I mean it's not they couldn't they're not gonNA make over your headphones and call them like like pro right that okay. That would be silly but to say these are. These are also headphones. But they're different and they're also air pods because that's the product and we have people go along with it. It's not a big deal. All right this episode is brought to you by Leonard. Whether you're working on a personal project to manage Enterprises Infrastructure Lynyrd has the pricing support. Can you explain what this is all about? Yes I won. I won Tek Mi Mike I yeah. It was kind of weird so yeah there was a minor. Let's back it up. Apple put a new feature in Mac Os but they put it in the developer. Beta the second developer. Beta ten fifteen five. But I'll tell you. Apple has gotten a lot more savvy about accepting the fact that when they do a a secret feature in a developer release. Everybody will know about it immediately. Like the final release is not the time if you want to break the news. So they broke the news alongside the developer preview. Release of ten fifteen five also. The other piece of this puzzle is if you recall back. A few years apple got in a lot of trouble by making changes to the way. Batteries work on the IPHONE and not telling anybody Yep and then people noticed things were different and they started asking questions and it became like a little mini scandal. And then I had to do with about a replacements for like six. Yeah exactly so I think apple learned the lesson there that you should be pretty transparent about making changes. That involve batteries. If they haven't learned that lesson something terrible happened right like Siempre Elvis. That that was something they should pay attention to for the future. Just because of how much it really played into the idea of apple making your devices was that is like this conspiracy theory. That people have that they believed. Is that plant thing. And that re- that that story really fed into that didn't know those people are still like the conspiracy. Theories are still out there but anyway. So what apple did was apple released this developer release and alongside that they briefed some people including me about what was in it and what was in. It is a new feature called Battery Health Management. So they essentially what they've done is they've changed. The default charging behavior on Mac books that have thunder thunder both reports. So it's touch bar era macbook pros and the Retina macbook air. So you don't have to have a touch bar on your Mac. Approach could be the math book escape. That didn't have one. But it's that from that era forward and the retina macbook air. So you've got to have thunder both reports and All of those now have a totally different Charging Algorithm basically and. They're looking at the temperature of the battery. And they're looking at your history of like when you charge it and how deep you deplete it when you're using it and I the way I read. This is the they were unhappy with the way Mac. Os handled laptops sitting in a semi permanent Plugged in state right. You're you're which a lot of laptops do they are sitting on your desk. And they're always plugged in and occasionally you'll disconnected. And when you do you disconnected and you use it somewhere and drain it five percent or fifteen percent and then you plug it back in and batteries. Although we like to think of computers as wonderful binary devices batteries are messy. Chemistry and that kind of cycle is really bad for the battery chemistry right. So what apple has done is in those kinds of scenarios when it analyzes the battery us. It's changing the battery charging system to not charge that battery as aggressively full and this is not anything new. I mean if you if I have an electric car it very clearly says that if you want the battery to last a long time charges routinely eighty percent and not one hundred percent also if you have a a Mac pro that you charge up and then you take and use and deplete its battery and then bring it back and charge it up again. The Berry Health Management System is GONNA look at that and say that's fine like keep doing what you're doing. But in these certain circumstances it's going to try to optimize the long term life of a battery in a MAC laptop by not as aggressively charging it to full when it sitting there and by the by the way the iphone does this now To a certain extent like Even when you see it at one hundred percent it's not always actually at one hundred percent and that's because it would be terrible for the battery if it charged it to one hundred percent and then just kind of left it there and kept pushing it up to one hundred percent so there's a range at the top of the battery scale where Apple will let the battery deplete a little bit and then will recharge it in order to keep the battery life better but the challenges that from the user's perspective is like but wait a second. I I want one hundred percent. Why is it not fully charged after? It sat on the charger all night. And the answer is because you can't do it that way And ideally you've got some intelligence in the software that says what you want is for it to be fully charged in the morning and we'll charge then but we're not gonNA WE'RE NOT GONNA keep it fully charged all night because that's really bad for the battery so that all said On the Mac the MAC has a lot of preferences. So you can turn it off and so if if you are uncomfortable with this idea or if you're in a moment where you're like yeah but I really needed to be one hundred percent tomorrow because I'm going on a on a long trip somewhere. Let's imagine what we imagine going on a long journey somewhere. It'll happen again. Some Day You could you could turn this off. And then it'll charge two hundred percent but By default this feature is on these particular modern Mac laptops and what apple says is the whole idea. Here is just to make the battery last a lot longer. And the conspiracy theorists will say oh well this is just apple saving itself money because it's not going to have to replace those batteries at the cost of the users Battery life on their computer. I don't think that's really accurate because when you start long-term battery life you're talking beyond the warranty period of a of a laptop so I think what apple's really doing is saying. We don't want to get a reputation of our laptops. Battery's dying after you know three or four years when they really should last five or six years and the way we do that is we need to charge them better in the meantime so. I don't think this is a big conspiracy where apple saying saving itself. Warranty replacements on batteries. If your if your battery needs a replacement in your MAC books warranty. Something is wrong with your battery that that shouldn't happen but I do think that this is. I mean apple's not acting entirely altruistic here because it's a big corporation but I think it's more about the product should have a longer life than it does that. They're not. They're not making their money any money that they're making charging you for an out of warranty battery. Replacement is not going to offset people being unhappy with their product experience because they had to do an out of warranty battery replacement and I think that's what their rationale is behind the scenes here. As expected this thing is becoming more of a concern like a thing. That apple feels the requirement to address because of thunderbolt. Because if you plug in A lot of devices now. Will it will charger the charger. Laptop right like a NASA thing like if you have a powered and then you'll fundable cable comes from the money. Attiyah Laptop is also gonNA charge the laptop and that may not have been the case before with just one cable. I don't think people I don't think people generally are driving an external monitor from their laptop without plugging in their laptop. I think they were always plugging their laptop. But I do think this has always been an issue and I think I think apple seriously. I think what happened is normally. This would just be a different algorithm that they'd put in Mac. Os They'd be like we we we're GONNA change. It wouldn't tell anybody it'd be like hey. The guys over at the battery department have figured out is better way of doing this. So we're GONNA roll that into an update and after what happened a couple of years ago with the whole kerfuffle about the iphone battery. They can't they can't do that anymore. They don't feel like they can be saved. Because the conspiracy theorists will come out of the woodwork. They have to announce it so they announced it but on one level. It's really not that big. A DEAL IS APPLE TWEAKING. Its charging system it. That does that all the time. I mean maybe not all the time but it's done that a lot over the course of the life of Mac Os ten But this one they're announcing and it does have one pretty notable effect. Which is if you leave. Your laptop plugged in all the time. And you expect that the moment the rare possibly but the moment that you unplug it and walk away it will be charged one hundred percent so that you can get all of that life out of it because you really need it. It won't necessarily. That's the that's the big change and there's a box you can check. I wish there was even something simpler. That the apple doesn't seem to have built in but that probably a third party will which is more like what? I have on my electric car. Which is you press the button and say this time. I wanted to charge all the way. And then you unplug it and you walk away and the next time you come back. It's back to the old behavior and Apple. Hasn't set it up that way. You basically have to turn this feature off. I understand more. You would definitely want to override that of an electric cau- because like it could be much more problematic view you if you can't about area full right like if you're going somewhere in the you calculate it right and they'd the battery full to make it there and bank but I think it also would be good to be able to more easily. Do that right. Like in the menu bar or something to just hit a button on select the battery percentage say like charge me to one hundred. But maybe that's more like meddling the most people need. I think apple doesn't want that because apple wants you to just leave it on but I can see the appeal of saying. Can you feel the battery up this time? And then I'm gonNA walk away because I'm going on a trip or something. I wanted. Leave it I wanNA leave it overnight to charge fully so that in the morning. I can put it in my bag at five. Am and go to the airport. And it'll be charged one hundred percent but I get the idea that they want this thing you know they want this thing on by Default. It's a little unnatural scrolling which is like we've completely changed the way your mouse works and it's the right way so it's on by default right but you can turn. You can turn it off if you want to do with the wrong way. That's fine and it's very apple kind of and I appreciate that right because the alternative is that they don't give you the choice. Yeah so I appreciate that. In a sub window of the Energy Saver System Preferences Pane. There's a box that is battery health management and you can say no apple do not manage my batteries and the feature gets turned off and it reverts the old behavior so when people upgraded him fifteen five when that comes out it will it will enable this by default. Okay so it's Developer Beta now will roll out in the Public Beta and then there will be a ten fifteen five update for everybody using Catalina. At which point this will be come default and then you can turn it off and notify you about this change. I don't know my guess is not. My guess is that it will not notify you beyond saying the in the change notes that they've added this feature which is probably why they spoke to people like year right because the people that are more likely to be upset about this rule so the same people that would be paying attention to the media. The technology press right like besides down. You May as well get the message out now so like you have the opportunity to learn about this. Otherwise you won't sit right and I think. Also that's why it's the default is apple strongly feels. This is the right way to do it. And so they're going to turn it on and if you don't care and you don't notice whatever it's just going to be there and your battery is going to last longer and that's what they want. So that's that's the story here. It will be interesting to see if somebody. Jin's up a you know a youtube video or something about the horror of I charge my macbook all night and then I walked away and it only had eighty percent battery or something like that anyway but like it's all of things or like anybody cares about already knew about them. Yeah yeah well. That's I think that is the advantage. And this is this is. I think the ultimate lesson learned by apple about the battery scandal was that wasn't China Gate. I it's I duNNo. Ben Scandal Gates Battery Scandal Gate. Apple Scandal Battery Gate Gate Gate. I don't know the names are dumb. But the lesson learned. Is You know how you stop the conspiracy theorists and the ugly reveals and class action lawsuits and all that you can't stop them. How you minimize them is. You'd be more transparent. I mean that's the answer is if you don't tell anybody because you don't think it's a big deal and then it turns out it's a big deal or even a minor deal then blows up in your face but if you just talked to a few journalists when you're Beta or developer Beta comes out and saying yeah we change the battery setting and it gets to you know top of techniques and they say see there it is then when somebody else. There's like no benefit to breaking that story later because it already broke like this is this is the way it is now and people can debate it but it's not the same as a secret being revealed and you know the fact is apple needs to do more of their defensive. Pr Because people are on the offensive trying to find those things about apple an apple decisions and so I take. This is actually kind of a good sign of that because we can talk about the defense. Pr and people being on the offensive trying to find things that are wrong with apple but if you're a user of the products apple being clearer about what they're doing. I think it's good like that. That's good. Yes tell us you made a change. Tell us why you made it and better yet. Give us a box to turn it off. And we move on with our lives great before we take a break of a few headlines about apple and cove in nineteen face shield design that they made like that facial apple is now actually published the design and specification of this face shield for other manufacturers to make. But it's full of want this pages full of warnings basically saying unless you are a professional unless you have professional level expertise in manufacturing. Please don't make this so I think what they're saying is if you have a three D. PRINTER. Don't do this right or like. Don't try and cut this out with a piece of plastic. She's for they of published a reference design for of manufacturers to make if they haven't already made a design of their own right which is like a great thing to have like. We did this. We know it works. If you have the tools you can take high design and make it rather than also needing to test and that kind of stuff. So that's available Apple is publishing. Non is data displaying. How it's used as a using apple maps that publishing trend graphs of navigation requests by walking driving on public transport. You can go to this website. Show put in the show notes. It's apple dot com slash covet nineteen slash mobility and. You can enter in your city and you can see on a graph how these requests that changing so it was like fascinating for me to go to this website and type in London and see the like huge decline in requests from the baseline will like minus eighty seven percent transit. Right now though. Of course what I was doing here is like the best thing that they can do without that being privacy issues which is to not be tracking people right. So it's like the not tracking who's using maps just in general attracting people moving around. It's just like requests navigation so the data is a complete right like you're not getting in that the people that are traveling by train every day. O'connor every day who know the journey right that on needing to check how to get to a place but you'll see a lot of people and it gives you an idea. It's just an interesting thing to have their also offering this data for download if you want to analyze it and use it in other forms such as interesting and finally Tim Cook recently. How they vote to meet him of. Apple Employees Update on how the company is dealing with all of this They say that while he stated that while this will affect apple financially they see no long term concern for the company. Obviously 'cause they have all the cash in the world They are continuing to heavily. Invest in research and development during this period of time and cook says he doesn't know when apple employees can return to offices but they will be when they when they can. He will be checking that he. I don't know maybe ten will be outdoor. I'm Tim I need to take your temperature. That's doing checking temperatures a man Danes. Ceo of the company. That employs Tim. Tim's My far away from me and stick out your tongue I have. This is not a gun. This is a doing Bill Clinton now. This is not a gun. This is the temperature taker from remote distances. And yet your move along this Tim. I'm Tim by the way earl getting used to have a temperature. Taken with sesame. Well THE PROBLEM. Is that the syptomatic nature of this. I'm not sure temperature. Taking is GonNa be the solution. I do wonder if there if what they're really going to end up having to do is do antibody screenings basically and say you know. We checked in your your. You've got the antibodies or you or whatever it is it's hard yeah this is a hard one because like just taking temperature is not. It could be something but it may not be sufficient so and then apples got this beautiful new campus which is huge but also is like giant open plan and all of that so you know how do they mandate social distancing and are they going to set up like little Desks out in the inside of the ring like out in the in the fields out where they had that rock concert or their people going to be out there. Little tents weather system. Yeah they could they could. It's IT'S GONNA be a real challenge when they do come back and it is very much apples a rich company. They have lots of money investing through a downturn as a thing that they do and they have done and they they have an advantage over some other parts of the market in that they can just keep spending money and at a time when other people are not spending money and they can turn it to their advantage. That said the you know this is going in some weird ways and it's going to interfere with a lot of their Their culture and so that's the thing that they're really going to have to to manage. And including how do they get people back in their in their buildings or do day? And and how does that work has apple so committed to having people work to to a fault I would say in having people work locally at places like you know a apple park and infinite loop and places like that and Do they rethink that? Or is this all just a way to get everybody packed back into the spaces because that's the way that they think it has to be to be at their best? I don't know I think oil companies could do this an Ma and apple could be one of them is like well. Everyone's working home now. Which means you can't do that so just have like half of the employees. Come back you know. And then then you have the space right to to to have won't be further apart from each other see. I'm just bring back to people that must be in the office to get their work done effectively and keep everybody else at home and that will give you the space inside of your buildings to make sure that people are spaced out from each other. A little better right. It's GonNa make meetings ready wit. Yeah could also be a You know this group comes in Mondays and Wednesdays yes comes in Tuesdays Thursdays and so the groups can be near but not too near each other that who worked together and need to see each other and then these other groups it's not ideal. I keep thinking that that's what's going to happen with With schools to like I tried to imagine my son going back to high school in the fall. And I start to think you know. They'RE NOT GONNA get thirty kids in the classroom. That seems unlikely to me but I could see them. Having half the kids come in on two days a week and the other half come in the other two days a week and that's not great but like I feel like that. Those scenarios are all going to be in play right. I'm really FM iphone se so this Appeared Lost Week and went up for sale preorder assessing. They start delivering at the end of this week. I'll give a very quick rundown of the headlines at this device and then we can talk on it in a little more detail so it is a four point seven inch display. It's the iphone eight designed for the IPHONE. Se now those people wondering if this is going to be called the iphone nine is going to be some kind of different design. No it is the IPHONE. Eight with a new name comes in black white and red And product red donations from the red model and now going towards corona virus which is interesting. It's been AIDS research forever right book read but right now it's going tools tackling corona virus. This phone obviously features touch. Id has a single twelve megapixel rear camera that now has portrait mode the previous se. Did Not one of the really interesting things about this device. Is it features. An eighth thirteen chip. Which is the same. As in the iphone eleven iphone eleven pro features haptic touch not three D. Touch it features. Jill Sim support and starts at three hundred ninety. Nine dollars I would say. This is the se that we thought it would be I WanNa say that at some point I landed on that it would be called the sea in not the nine mostly because the nine sounded like going backward and they literally it is the iphone se. Playbook it is what they did for years ago with the iphone se which is all right. We are still selling a low price phone down at the bottom of our price line. That's an old model. It's too old now. The processors too old it needs a SPEC update but we don't really want to put a lot of effort into this because it's this old design and we're so proud of our new designs. So here's what we're GONNA do. We're GONNA take the old design and we're gonNA stick some upgraded hardware in it including the most recent the current processor and then that one will sit there for another four years and be are low priced phone. And they did it. That's exactly what they did for years ago. That's what they're doing now. And it means that right now the IPHONE. Se is an incredible value. It will be less of an incredible value in three years when it's the exact same model that they introduced last week still on sale. But right now and if you're on this cycle if you're on the kind of se cycle which they're almost is now we've seen twice. This is the perfect time to buy this phone because for what you get for three ninety nine. It's a spectacularly a good deal and this is one of those cases where I've seen a bunch of videos from people who cover all the phone market and they look at this phone and say it's kind of hard to believe because this is such great deal there are other android phones that are like premium with but for a good price kind of phones. And it's like but then there's this thing which is good camera does single camera portrait mode. It's doing it's got. The same chip is the eleven touch. Id for people who don't want to go to face. Id like. There's so much to be said for it. It's no it's it's not the cutting edge phone at the top of apple's product. Line that a lot of our listeners are going to buy but I would wager that a lot of our listeners know people who would really love this and and think that this should be there next iphone. My Dad text me last night and told me that he bought one there. You go says he was on the before and like he is a carpenter and so he's foam was full of Sawdust. It was so sad. It couldn't take pictures because the cow just completely full and he he told me Oh. I got it for seventeen pounds a month from apple for two years interest free credit and like that is an unbelievable deal so for two years. He's paying seventeen pounds a month like people that by the iphone. Se We'll keep it for two years like for shortly. Had his for like three or four years now. Seventeen pounds a month like he got sixty four gigabyte. 'cause he's fine with that right also. He didn't consult me on any of this but he got the sixty four gigabyte which is great. He is a big high pro- using my dad. Which is a big surprise to me. When he bought one of those like just out of the blue he calls it he's pad but that's not very technologically savvy which is why anytime he makes any of these decisions on his own. It's always a surprise to me. I also just don't know where he's getting this information from seventeen pounds a month for two years interest free like that is twenty twenty apple in a nutshell right that they have options on price for the iphone and you can get them direct from apple on these discount deals right. It's like you know you go to buy any new apple device now in the first question is that you try to one in like this is this. Is the new apple ride like. This is the Post Angela. Ari- apple which she was because it was kind of dictated that we have to change because the iphone sales were down. You know we've spoken about this a million times on the show and I'm sure we'll going to have a great time. Took it about the next earnings which are in a couple of weeks right they can. These are GONNA be fun once but I just found that value that three hundred nine prize. That's a it's a big deal. It's a big deal. I saw somebody say on twitter for seven hundred fifty dollars. You can get one of these. An Apple Watch series three and a pair of episodes. Yep like pretty incredible right. I did a chart last week on Friday. That was the currently available from Apple. Iphones and you can see the you know there's the SEC and there's the ten are which is still for sale and then there's the eleven and they kind of escalate and then there's this big gap and then there's the eleven pro and the eleven promex and that's apple you know knowing who it's different audiences are and making phones available for all of them so you can just kind of go through the price line up to a point and then there's a big leap and literally at that point is would you like a thousand dollar phone or is that ridiculous and if you say well what's in the thousand dollar phone while they got you but a lot of people will be like no no. What do you have for for four hundred? Well we got this one which Keep IN MIND. A few years ago would have been the top of the line iphone and has the top of the line iphone processor. Because it's the only processor that they're putting in all of those phones so it's yeah yeah so I think it's a pretty great deal. I'm pleased to see that done it. I know that there are people that were in the SE lifestyle. That are not getting what they want which was a small phone like it'd be smallest phone but it is not a small phone anymore But this is unfortunately like the march of progress. I guess like if there was a big enough market apple would would to me. I think what it shows is that data makes them believe that they should just keep making phones. Bigger right But I will say. There's there's rumors of like different lineups this year right and size wise but overall all of the phones that they release will be bigger than like the old essay readiness going back to that size anymore. I think I saw some developers as well like saying that they were so happy to see this going away because just developing and keeping in mind. That tiny screen is really difficult. Now right like if you're developing an APP in twenty twenty for the twenty twenty phones and still needing to support the IPHONE SE screen size. Things get really complicated to do so. They kind of couldn't move that stuff. Yeah the whole operating system has moved on and the third party development moved on listening to to developers. We know talk about it like it has to go away. 'cause like the range of screen sizes is so broad and it's very difficult for developers to fit things on that screen and also have good you. I in all of the larger screens. And it's diminishing size of the market. So it's like there's only so much effort they're gonNA put into how it looks on the screen so it. Kinda has to go away when apple put up the PROTAS for the IPHONE. Se All the the depict itself when they announced that the product was live they also put up protest magic keyboard IPAD pro which is many weeks ahead of when we were expecting it. This was supposed to be a may product but it will now be and for many an April product. Unfortunately they are arriving with people today. But Jason has won Mine is GonNa be here sometime this week. I think is arriving sometime in the next couple of weeks. Who knows who knows very wide window so I I ordered. I woke up and saw that it had been turned on for orders and ordered one. But who knows when it will show up. But they're arriving now. This been some reviews mostly from video produces. I haven't seen anybody who doesn't make video not have one of these. Which is you know like. I haven't seen any purely written reviews of this product seems to be video all over the place And they're also arriving with customers while so there's a bunch of details I'm cannot wait to get my hands on because even in the details that we're getting I still feel like I can understand exactly how this will feel until I use it myself. But the general kind of consensus is that it is well built that it is a very serious piece of equipment like it does not flex. It is heavy heavy so the eleven inches. Six hundred grams The the eleven keyboard to put this in perspective the eleven in Jaipur pro is four hundred seventy-one grams The twelve point nine inch version is seven hundred ten grams compared to the ipod which is six four one. The package of the twelve point nine inch magic keyboard and twelve point nine inch. I had pro a heavier than a MAC book and approaching. Thirteen inch macbook. Now I wanna I just WanNa say this because people. Oh it's heavy as a laptop. It's the same thing with the bridge keyboards that we've been talking about for years now and my point with bridge keyboards and I'll reiterate it now is. It's not a crime to turn an IPAD into a laptop and had a way. What a laptop would way because at that point? It's a laptop and and let's not also leave out that there's also a lighter keyboard cover that apple makes that's not as heavy as a laptop if you want that and it's a compromise in terms of the experience but it's a better in terms of the weight so you can make a decision there but it's not because what really bugs me is. There's this Mac chauvinism that the they believe that the only reason you would use an IPAD is because it's lighter than a a laptop because otherwise why wouldn't you just use a laptop laptops or fundamentally better. The only reason that you're using the IPAD is because it's not a laptop and that's not true when you're using. The IPAD is a laptop if ways as much as a laptop. That's fine like I don't mind that my I've had and bridge keyboard put together way as much as the thirteen inch macbook pro because it is a thirteen inch laptop at that point. Of course it does and also there's just the physics of having to keep it all from flopping over backward. The keyboard has to weigh more. So I don't think it's that big deal. And the clincher is of course you take one hand and you pop the IPAD off and you walk away and now it doesn't way what a Mac pro as whereas you can't tear the screen of Mac book pro and use it so people are going to be hysterical about this. I'm not surprised at all. These are heavy. I'm especially not surprised because apple won't talk about how heavy they are. They don't want to talk about it but of course they. Are you when you attach an ipad to one of these keyboards? You're making a laptop. You're making eleven or thirteen inch laptop and it weighs what it weighs but what you get for that is all of these features and if you don't like that you know what they make the smart keyboard folio. That's a lot lighter or you. Don't use the keyboard at all if you don't WanNA use a keyboard with it or you attach a USB keyboard and a stand. There's the beauty of the IPAD is that you can choose all of these different scenarios but there hasn't been a first party scenario and there hasn't been a good scenario with a pointing device before now and so this product fills that gap. So I the more I read about this the more. I think this is exactly what I've been using the bridge keyboard to do which is in certain circumstances like when I'm traveling or going outside or going to other places which again remember that. Remember going to other places I would I would use this because I wanted a writing tool. I wanted a laptop and then the beauty of it is then you take it off and it's not that anymore and this seems to be pretty much the same thing it it transforms your ipad into a laptop for as long as you needed to be. We have been talking on the show for a while about knowing that this had to be a heavy product. Otherwise it's not gonna work as advertised right like and we know this from having used as you say like products similar to this one for quite a while right like and it is exactly the idea that needs to be heavy because I want to be a laptop like that's the that's the point. That's that's kind of one. I'm trying to make it like I want the laptop factor and I won everything that gives me. That's why I would say be skeptical about anybody who looks at this product and start talking about how the IPAD shouldn't be a laptop or you know stuff like that because that's that's wrong that's wrong idea. The IPAD IS. It can be what you want it to be and one of those things that some people wanted to be. Some Times is a laptop and this is as far as I can tell having not used one. It looks like it might be the best way ever to use the IPAD laptop and that's great so the the one of the things that we will. I especially been wondering about is how much adjustability is in the design bright. Like how far can I turn? Can I push it back and forward and basically seems like you have the range of from about ninety to one hundred thirty eight degrees in angle? Most people were saying that practically it goes back as far as the old smart keyboard. Folio did right like that's kind of the maximum like like how far it will go back but what you do get which you don't get with the with. The current products is anywhere from ninety to that level. You can adjust so you can adjust it to be kind of as you want it to be. I personally was hoping I think for a little bit more than that right. I want it to go back further So that that is a disappointment for me on paper but I still need to try it. It is higher up so it's not just about the angle it's also about the height and the height makes the angle a little bit more acceptable but yeah it turns out. We're going to have to get this and try it because I know that people have been frustrated by the lack of adjustability of the of the smart keyboard. Folio the fact that it only has two angles one of which is not acceptable for anything except watching a movie. At which point I mean I guess if all you have is that case then that's what you have to do in order to watch a movie and then the other one is okay which is the other angle. But it's the only one that's usable so you use it. It would be nice to have a wider range and although it has a range where you can adjust between those two points. We'll see if a somebody a bone at the verge said that if you're the kind of person who opens your laptop and pushes the pushes the angle of the screen way back. You are going to not get that experience from this and I understand why in terms of just the physics of the weight of this thing. But you know it's adjustable only to appoint an that's a that's a fair point. Like in indeed review he compares it to the surface and cycled surfaced. Goes all the way back and he likes that because I think he uses it on his desk a lot but Sarah teaches review. She says well you know you. You have more in the south but it's horrible to use in your lap. It's like uncomfortable. Cuss kick stands stink? Yeah so like kick cons depending on how you're using it like if you're just using it on desk and desk like environments than the surface is my people and don't buy this product if you're just using an and we talked about it here. Mike and I get it upgrading and get it. If you're just using your ipad on a desk get a get a stand. Yeah you shouldn't and using it and get an extra keyboard and get a magic track pad to and you're done you don't need to make it into a laptop you should make it into a desktop if you're using it on a desk and then just pop the ipad out and walk away. That's what you should do. But Sarah's video made me feel very happy because she handles this device the way I would handle it like she just picks up the Kibo Pot and just picked it up from the from the table and it's just like walking around holding just a keyboard portion and the whole thing stays together and that's something that I want like because that's how I laptops around or like just pick it up from the keyboard part right and stable right bravo than like needing to pick up the screen pot. So yeah kind of like is. That's how I WANNA carry my ipad around when he's in this room factor so like I'm excited for that. I do feel though like off to watching these reviews and reading like lots of people saying about this product to have used it. This feels like very personal opinion type of device for sure because it is at its core. It is the challenge with reviewing something like this is. You're not reviewing review a laptop. You're reviewing one hundred percent of the laptop experience. Maybe you're not reviewing like what it's like if you attach it rented closed and attach an external keyboard and mouse and stuff but at that point. What's what's what are you even reviewing. It's like not even there but a laptop the whole laptop experiences in the laptop with the ipad. This is an accessory to a central product. So like it's not for every use case it's like aggressively not forever use case so what you really need to do is kind of look at it and say like like. I said about if you're using it a desk don't use this. I mean maybe you can but if all you ever do is use it as a desk why you could save a lot of money and get a better experience using something else. It's four a particular use case and what that means is if it's just like when we would talk about the bridge is like people would not get why we had that product and the answer is because we had a case where it made sense but not everybody does right and there are a lot of people who probably looked at this product thought. Oh this is really exciting. This is awesome. I'M GONNA get one of these and it turns out may not be for. You doesn't mean it's not a bad product for what it's four like what it's meant to do but it's not for a lot of cases a lot of use cases. The Smart Keyboard. Folio is better or an external keyboard and a standard better or a bridge keyboard. Maybe even I dunno novel track not with the One with the track pad. There was two last things I wanted to mention this before we move on today. feature was is the one handed. Removable is a thing. Like I've watched people do videos that you like in the marketing video. The you can just pick the IPAD off the the keyboard about touching it which you know we all wondering like obviously it's going to be heavy to allow that but is it even possible as just a call marketing thing but no you can just pick the IPAD that really easily which is great and the track. Pant is a physical click but it works across the entire track. Pad doesn't work just like in on the bottom area and there's two parts of that one. I'm really pleased as the case because I would have been really upset if like it was only clicky in the bottom then. Yeah I was expecting it would be for such track pad anyway like I don't know if I was wrong to think that that was what I expected it to be be like. I just think it's interesting that Apple's making a track pad in two thousand twenty that clicks physically but I guess he's just really difficult to do In in the form factor that they have but nevertheless. I'm happy that the entire thing clicks because then I'm probably not going to know is any difference to my usual trek pets right and I did want to say I just saw Steve Trump Smith. He tweeted he has his. And it's like the perfect review for me. Says the Magic Keeble by curve? You this is the accessory you've been waiting for is perfect if you're somebody trying to false i-ipad into your life when you don't need a wanted to be more than a net flicks player not going to do a lot to solve your problems. He also went on to say something that very much like what we just said which is baffled by people by People. Complaining about twelve point nine inch measure keyboard. Plus I've had weighing as much as a thirteen inch laptop making it equivalent to a laptop is kind of the point. Yeah even more so than any of keyboard right like if the smart keyboard folio made it way as much as a laptop I will maybe raise an eyebrow but this is a track pat in it as well is a laptop. That's what this is. This is the first first party complete. Your IPAD is now a laptop product that That apple has done. And it's it's telling in fact that the smart keyboard fully was still available right. That's apple saying let you know heavy keyboard with back lighting and the and the and the Magic Keyboard with the moving keys and the track pad and all that it's like not everybody needs this. That's why you also get this other thing. That's a lot better in lighter super excited to get mine and you could expect us to be talking about this saying a lot more. I think it's coming we so we've been waiting for this product for a long time rolling long time. We've been trying to find ways to make this lifestyle for ourselves. And it's apple's finally made the product that will do. That's the thing that's the thing that really hits me more than anything else. I've written a bunch of calms about using the IPAD in different ways for six colors on the old exactly and I keep coming back to that idea that you know is apple ever going to embrace the idea that the IPAD can be used as a laptop with a pointing device and build a. Its own thing instead of us. Doing things like the bridge keyboard build. Its own thing and say yes. You can use an IPAD as a laptop and honestly. I wasn't convinced that was ever going to happen. In a short period of time in a few years time. And that's what this is so I'm excited. So hopefully they arrived when we talk about them. fingers crossland to come into more all right shoe. Watch and debating between the series three and series five and your opinion is the series five worth the extra money off. That's a personal question and I know that sounds like a cop out. But what's worse to you because the series great it's older but it's a great value at that price if you haven't had a an apple watch before or your partner hasn't happened had never watched before and you know that. Probably implies a reluctance to get into the Apple. Watch the PRI-. The low price of the series. Three may be a selling point that it's not you know it doesn't have the big screen that's really nice. The bigger screen is really nice. I like a lot of things about the series five. I'm happy I have one. But the three is a pretty great device on its own and is an excellent price like we were talking about the iphone se. So I think that's a real question is is your you know when you're thinking about the money your partner is willing to spend or you're willing to spend for your partner about this. That to me is the question. Because do you go for value or do you go for. Let's get something really nice. Because it's like or I think for the Petunias three in the five. I think the main differences or aesthetics right. So if I I'm much much. Prefer the design of the series four on the series five two series three and before And you've got The always on display now I mean seriously had Ltd So you've got that still think back. Probably the main differences. So I think I think really if you look at the series three and you'll like I like the way this looks and if you don't care about ways on then you're good for right. I agree with what Jason's saying. It is very much a personal decision. I you know I was just about to say. Just go to the apple store. You can't do that. She can't try them on. This is more difficult to make these decisions. And a hell right if you're just using yeah In my opinion series five is worth the extra money for my own tastes right because I skipped the Apple. Watch for a while still wearing it but the series five gave me the reasons to come back because I like the way it looked. I liked the options that you had materials and I also liked that you can always have the always on display. So as Joe in the chatroom says good point you can't still return them so you can make your decision that way. I guess you could try out if it doesn't work for you and you feel like you would want the other one you can still retain the products we'll wants to know what are your favorite home-care accessories this many years into system. I have one which is the Hugh Bulbs and I love him But that's the only home kit accessory that I have. I haven't looked I mean honestly every now and then I look for Home Kit Plugs you know like not. I don't WANNA replace the plug outlet but look for the ones that sit in the middle. I can never find anything in the UK from a company that I feel like I can trust like Belkin products a completely gone here. Like you can't find them which is really weird like so. I don't really know what's going on with home kit but I do hope that they are getting ready to change it in some way because it's no good. Yeah I have a bunch. In contrast Mikes sadness The I love the Lutron Caserta switches because one of my great complaints about home kit stuff. Is You end up with smart bulbs and stuff and then you've got these light switches where it's sort of like no. Don't touch the light switch. If you turn off the light switch the lights can never come back on automatically. That's the power to the bulb and and the smart ball. But you have to turn off separately and you can't use the light switch to do that. It's the worst. An illiterate Cossiga switches are light switches. That are smart home light switches so I have a couple of these And I have them in my living room. My living room lights are on this and it means that I can adjust my living room lights. Turn them on off from my IOS devices from my logitech little smart remote. It will talk to them using voice assistance and using A physical remote control that comes with the Lutron switch or you guessed it on the wall. It's a switch. It's real with real controls and you can just turn it on and off by pushing the buttons on the wall because it's controlling. The light bulbs are dumb. The switches smart. And it's way better that way. So that's my favorite I also have done most of the lighting in my office now is is smart lighting. So I've got a smart switched from a floor lamp. I've got some light strip Philips Hue Light Strips around the windows on On My side. Wall And four when I do video I actually have two TV lights to led lights and they're up mounted on the ceiling and attached to a smart switch. So I can just With the home app I can just turn those on when I need to be. Well lit for video and then turn the back-off which is pretty great too so my garage lighting is second and I have a lot of lamp that you can turn on just for fun but the the Lutheran Caserta stuff is the stuff that I really loved because it feels much more appropriately integrated into my home to not have smart bulbs but instead to have smart switches in the walls because they function as light switches. And they're smart and that's way better. I've never lived that lifestyle but it's interesting like get it like I liked. What one of the things that we do like about the hugh bulbs though is the color changing either rice which I guess this can't do unless you have bulbs do it right. Like of taking existing fittings and fixtures making them small. Well right. I could make my smart. I could make the living room bulbs smart but then I would have a light switch. That had to stay on all the time and you couldn't actually touch it or you'd break everything and I don't like that. There are companies that make smart switches that cover up your lights which you rewire rate to stay on all the time and then you know this over it and it's a smart switch. I actually have one of those in my bedroom because we put in a smart ceiling fan. That's also an overhead light. The problem there is sometimes you press the button and nothing happens because for whatever reason the smart home network didn't get the signal or something whereas if you flip a light switch the lights come on so I I'm not I get the appeal of like the color kind of stuff but Also role in lamps which rightful because there isn't like break of a light. Switch the lights that we have the actual light fixtures in the house we turn on by switches but we actually used a lamps more in the rooms so but yeah I get accents. I would like to one day a change. Our actual light switches to something like that just so we have the additional flexibility of also having them controllable via the Internet. But I just haven't done around tonight yet partly because I'm a little bit scared about doing that. Wiring is daunting to me. Did you find? Did you do it yourself or did you have somebody that I have done it myself? And I've also had other people to other switches I've done I've done both. I I like being able to do it but I get my wiring houses. A lot of it is old and so I get really frustrated and it starts to get confusing about. What's which is what. And that's when you bring in the electrician. Yeah Christmas which current or former apple executive do you hope writes a tell all book? Which story do you WanNa hear the most I Phil Schiller only? Because he's been there Phil Schiller has been there like. We answered a version of this question before. But I'M GONNA throw it Phil Schiller. Because he's been there a long time so he can actually talk about jobs returning and about lots of different product rollouts if he were to ever write a tell all book like he knows where all the bodies are buried and for a long stretch of apple history and that is a. That's why I'd want to hear from Phil I for some of the same reasons wants to be. I've because sure Johnny was there for a again for of jobs is time But I also want to hear about the The design aspect Also like you know. I'm interested in his life as somebody who grew up in the UK and all that kind of stuff like so. I would love a book from him at some point but he doesn't seem like the type of person to do it I would be. I would expect more. That shila would than I've would even though I don't think either of them will no but if wheels are more likely to me that shila would do something and I would. Just because I've seems so very private the icon. Imagine Him Sharon any stories. Really Right Kaelin also asks. Do you think that the pandemic finally push apple to break its pace of new software versions every year? I I'M GONNA say no I think I mean for Mac Os I think it's possible but my short version is no. I think it'll I think it will instead push them to make small revisions and make them throughout the air and be a little less ambitious in what roles into a particular release but I think they you know anything is possible right now but I think that they're probably more inclined to continue rolling out versions every year even if they're less ambitious and the new features are broken up across the whole year instead of just dropping a lump in the fall. They've already been moving in that direction and I think following that That kind of plan gives them the flexibility to adjust. When something like this happens and say well you know? We're not GONNA get this. This year is going to start out. The successor to Catalina is going to be later and it's going to be a little bit quieter but then we're gonNA roll out some other features in the spring and I think that's a more likely scenario than just nope we're not going to do an update because if you watch they're still doing os updates throughout the year. It's you know so in some ways. It's just where the milestone release happens and I think that they find value in having a milestone release more or less every year doesn't have to be a massive release and they can trickle this features out later and finally James Asks. Do you think Ed tags would be a subscription product? Of course service. I don't I just think that apple has not gone so far around the bend that they look at a new piece of hardware and say this is actually a service and I don't think find my other comment would be that find. My is not a service right like. Find my on your existing hardware from Apple. You don't pay for that. You get that just with your product you can find it And and so. I don't think I think apple will view this as you by the ear tags and then they're on fine my until they die. Yes I hadn't thought of anything like this until I got this question and I was wondering if like there could be different levels to it but I'm not sure how that would work even like or if it could be some how attached means obviously going to be attached to cloud but it just seems like too too complicated to be like you have to be a pay nightclub member to use more than two of them there is. There is a product here because of companies do it. So like tile and tracker. Have you buy the thing and you can track? Then they have like plus models right where you pay and you get more features but I think for this particular product I think apple was looking for more of like overall ecosystem lock in then subscription lockin like if you were thinking that whilst the business angle behind this is like making it more desirable to be in the apple ecosystem in general by offering product product than it being a we want to get more revenue per user on a recurring basis when this product people will buy them over and over again which is different. Typical products like is in the amount that a person could have could be like five which is different right to a normal apple product. Like most people do not have like five ipods or whatever but this that's true but they do have they do have multiple apple products. And then every one of these that you buy it. You're giving apple more money for them and I'm not sure there's any overhead there and then they're not going to last forever no and they keep you in the actual ecosystem. So I think I hadn't thought about it either and I think it totally could but I don't think they will if you'd like to send a question for future episodes tweet with the Hashtag ask upgrade and it will go into a list and can be picked later on. That's going to be going on. So who are we honoring today? All right. So our first field goods back with submitted by Laura Stephens who wanted me to feature. Her retired father who was eight her father who was retired fight fire. Fighter along the mouth of marbles and members of Pennsylvania community near pine grove lake at quiet valley living historical farm, so Saturday to Clydesdale horses name Wilhelm and Gunther had broken out of their enclosure trotted onto a frozen lake and fell through into ten feet of water. A local saw their heads bobbing above the surface and nothing else. I know they immediately contacted emergency responders. Now, the problem with the rescue is that these guys weighed well over one thousand pounds each so pulling them on a boat or back on the ice was not an option plus time was of the essence because they were getting a little LaFarge so rescuers quickly decided to cut a trail out of the ice that led to shore which ended up needing. To be about the lanes of an entire football field. If you can picture that they tied ropes around the buddies to help guide them through an eventual both were brought to safety. So here's what I really love about the story. Not only did the first responders do an amazing job. But while waiting for their rescue, locals came out with heaters, heated blankets and towels just so they would be prepared the moment that the two horses got back on land after about an hour in the water. The guys just laid down. They were completely exhausted at a bunch of people where their comfort them, including our submitter, Laura and considering the condition they were in that was just as important to save their lives as was getting them out. So if there was no one there, the horses still might not have made it. So everyone volunteered. The first responders. You guys are amazing. And if you have someone that needs to be featured, I would love to feature that Email me Sam Elvis, Duran dot com. Subject line field goods. Thank you producer Sam. So I looked at if you go if you go to New York Post dot com, they have a picture of it. It does look like his hair. That's okay. On Jimmy Fallon's calling in a few minutes. He has a special tribute show tonight. That's sort of tribute to Garry shandling the Larry Sanders show late show that anyway, so, but we love Jimmy Fallon. He's calling in. And you know, who's going to be on later CNC? Oh, they're so hot. She sold in additional one hundred fifty one thousand copies so congratulations to her Amy Schumer had to cancel the remainder of her tour because she has severe morning sickness. She in the baby thankfully are doing. Well. The doctor's like lesson you need a little bit. She got relax. And so, unfortunately, she had to cancel the rest of her tour. So as long as baby mommy are doing. Well, I'm sure by now you've heard all the craziness surrounding the Justice small story. He had here. What happened? So there's what there's what a thirties are saying. It's just crazy everyday. There's something new, and if you don't know, please just Google it because I can't even get into it the more Luthor, you don't write a check to somebody. They'll just cash if you're to pay somebody kick, you're saying that the check was actually just for personal trade. Yeah. All the memos. But yes, so domes oppose training him. I'm telling you ever ever since the story broke. We were very careful not to jump on the bandwagon. Because there was always something kind of weird about it. We said in the beginning. Remember, I'm I'm still not going to do it. I'm telling you right now. I don't think I don't think we've heard everything I don't have either. But at this point he could be totally innocent. I I'm telling you, I'm not giving my opinion at all he has a fishing been removed from the final two episodes of season five of empire for now. So the cast a lot of them I've been creeping they're all the lot of them are supporting him turns Howard, seven warrant and some of them ones done with the show. Totally and some of them are supporting him. So it's interesting answer. Okay. What? Okay. What? If scary did the same thing. Yeah. I've been going on the heartbeat. No. You see I love you so much. I would I would find a way to support you as best as I could because you're my friend, and you've been so loyal to our show for so many years, but at the same time, I mean, if you go pay people to beat you up and you lie about, you know, right? It's too much. Terrence Howard be the Terrence Howard. Because I'm a nice guy help. Yes. But I mean people make mistakes. He if this is all proven to be true made a massive mistake tire career down the toilet. Like, I know who's gonna wanna work with someone like that again. And if you're black or gay. There's a little problem with that as well. Thank you think the real victims of the people who report hate crimes that are real hate crimes are looked at as maybe not telling the truth because of the scares, white and straight. Heard that the police were thinking of making him pay because they put a lot of money into this, you know, investigation. And if it turns out that it was all PS if he bilby absolutely should pay. Of course, I've short you also know R Kelly arrested on ten counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. One good take so long that took forever. So ridiculous. But thankfully, that has been happening. And did you hear this? Could there be a greatest showman sequel in the works with Hugh Jackman? He wanted at the fact that this might be happening nothing is set in stone. But that's what I'm hearing. That would be pretty cool. Daniel did you see him performing at the Brits the Brit awards? He's amazing only. He did a great show minute was a lot of the British singers informers onstage with him. It was amazing. It's just incredible. I can't sixteen season premiere of the voices on tonight. John legend will be there as the fourth judge Kelly Clarkson is the other judge sitting beside adamant Blake the season. You've got the. Bachelor a lot of other cool things on television next hour. We have to talk about the bachelorette. I don't know if this is true. But I'm hearing rumor that they wanted somebody very high profile, but it's not going to happen or we saw that entire thing on Instagram Twitter. Yeah. There's a big fight going messages. So we'll see you. Thank you. Danielle. Hey, so a Ghandi and I've being the big Purves on the show. Did you get that video? I sent you did. And I may have showed it to a couple of people. Okay. So there is a a Canadian diver, and he was doing his diving thing I guess getting ready for the Olympics, or whatever how many views does that video have cell? Fires at one point one million. Okay. So this is a good looking kid is a diver. But everyone's watching him not because they're diving fans there watching it because it looks like he is a tree trunk in short gonna dive with that name. His name is Vincent riendeau is that how we pronounce it. It's a French name r I n the U or something like that. But everyone's looking at video and commenting about the size of his package. Well, it's. Same large. And I'm worried when he hits the water. And it's got cause a bigger splash, which is going to affect his scores. No my. But if you want to be known for something is that what you want to be known for. Guys, stop dying. Yes. Well, things to be known for. Well. It's like, okay. So is obviously you can tell there's something going on when he's facing the camera. But when he turned sideways, I was like, oh my goodness. And that's you know, getting ready to dive. So I can't even imagine. When he's ready to do something else. I love how it says he's doing his leg workout. But that's. Look at his ads. He's got like, oh my gosh. I've ever flexible too. I didn't even know those were like on your body those ads. Yeah. We don't look. He's a great diver. He has he has he's going for the going for the gold lately. I think. And you know, he's a good looking guy. But no one's watching the video or any of that. He's got great hair back of plan career if he needs one, I'm sure he can find other. So like, I said CNC, oh is going to be performing their new single pretend and doing know all performers who come into a special cover of someone else's song. So I wonder what they're going do. Jimmy Fallon calling in to talk about his show tonight on NBC. It's just a busy day too. Busy day. I think I'm coming down with Daniels cold, I'm not even I can't blame me though, can't play me. So I don't know where you're living. But I know that where you guys are doing the show in New York City. The wind is extremely high today. Right. Ridiculous insane. There are things flying across the street when we were parking this morning at like four twenty we were trying to stay away from this one street light because it looks like it's gonna come down. Yes. The parking garage attendant said be careful he thought that woman coming the corner. Yeah. Looking at my calendar. I mean, I missed coming into the studio today because I'm doing the show here with froggy as he's blowing farts in the studio there will be delays today. Shamali? I know, but maybe I should wait till tomorrow, definitely should home. Enjoy that sunshine because this is I can't even imagine a plane trying to land in this right now. It's crazy. I think we have a we recorded interview with John legend tomorrow, I cannot miss that. Yeah. I don't want to miss that. I'm sorry. Are we on the radio which to live? Still live schedule on the radio do in our personal business. So look we're back from a week off. And as I said earlier, I I need a week to recuperate from our we cough. It's just it's too much. A little too hard. Is your and your fiancee's like party central? He's like forget about it. Oh, believe me. I think they say if you really want to get to know someone you're dating going vacation with them. I don't know if we're getting married after this. Anyway, thank you to everyone who came up and congratulated us, and we did have a wonderful time. Norwegian bliss. I'm there's nothing like it. Well. Trip will the people who work on our region cruises are the most highly trained perfect people. It's been in fact, when you go to the dining room, you look back at all the tables, and they're all the they have all the wine glasses and water glasses set up. They're all measure to be imperfect line with each other. Every it's the strangest thing they're just the best at what they do. But they all know your name. They are they're all very sweet, they're nice. And I know on the godfather, so yeah, maybe they're really I see the way they treat everybody, very sweet and nice genuine people. And it's so it's just so much fun to be on there. It's when when I get off the ship. I'm like how come my family? Can't be that nice to me when I'm at home like that. They don't like anyway. So we spoke to Joel who was with his family on bliss while we were out, and they and Daniel loves this idea they booked their next vacation while they were on board. I'm I'm convinced that you must get a better deal. You think you do give you a really good deal. Cruise next do. That's awesome. Anyway. Okay. We'll take a break. I'm sorry. I'm rambling I'm rambling. What time is Jimmy calling in forty five minutes. Five minutes from now. Yeah. All right. Let's take a break. We'll be back after this. Oh my God. He's capable are. Just a mess to rain in the morning show. This is Elvis Duran and the morning show. Well, well, well, well, so does anyone give flying flip about my wedding plans today? Give a flying five you. Okay. Well, so I'm going to say something if you if you've ever put a wedding together, you know, that the guest list is the most impossible part because if you invite this person, you have to invite these other five people because then they'll they'll get mad even by you know, what I'm saying. So not only one I lost ten people off my list this past week 'cause they much jerks. Well, I'm not gonna get into details. But yeah, no happy. Yeah. Why? No. But it was they were sad situations. You know, I lost a friend. In the meantime, but it makes me sad. But but at the same time, you know, I. You shouldn't be happy about losing people off your guest list because it's usually because of bad reason. So no, I got ten extra seats. Now. Kind of happy about that save a little money. You're getting with text today. None of the seat if you want hopefully, but I will tell you this. We all experienced as scary calls them fleas. We had to flick off of social media. I know I know that great great tea. Yes, sir. So great t I know you had some people making fun of you. And your your pictures you posted with your liposuction, just jerks. Right. Yeah. It doesn't make you feel good at all. And the people that criticize you, they don't really know or understand the reasons why sometimes you gotta put some pictures up and do some by. No. But they just have no right to be rude. And so so Gandhi posted pictures of her looking great in her swimsuit and her in in the pool, the people you had problems with people as well. Yes. People telling them my butts too big. There's something wrong with my legs. Perfect. Thank you. I appreciate it. But scary scary of photo of him wearing a backwards A backward. Baseball cap Sandler in happy Gilmore, Madison. I mean, it was a stupid innocent photo. So what did the guy say to you? He goes really your age and your hat on backwards speaks volumes about you. Such a hopes your does screams. I'm living this life, and you should live yours too and not judge others and be miserable healthy prosperous. And so I posted a picture of me, whatever. And of course, my I lied was droopy looking whatever in this one. She didn't mean to she was a stupid, she she said, oh, you really should get that taking care of you should go in for. I've lived surgery before your wedding. You don't wanna have a droopy eyelid at your wedding. And then I told her I said, look when when you can stop criticizing yourself, then you can start criticizing me. And then but everyone came to my defense. It's beaten the living crap out of it. And I felt awful I felt awful for her nice of you. But my no, but she was being stupid, but they beat her senseless. And they're coming to my defense. And I thank them for it. But it got so nasty I felt bad. So. The point is this stop criticizing people online. Don't be a douche seriously Elvis, if you'd be nice if you can't say that to someone face to face, then you have you have no business writing that down either. I know you shouldn't be criticizing someone. Let's just like it's almost the same thing with road rage. Like people think they can be nasty in the cars because they can hide at and they think the on Instagram offense, Gregory, no offense, but pot calling kettle black. No one has been the worst road rage than Greg. What I was doing. Say if you interest if you cannot say that to someone's face, then or you wouldn't than what makes it okay to say on social media frog. I agree. I'll post the picture of Lisa night. Sometimes it'll start what the hell is she doing with you Konare it goes? And I'm like really you would never say that to me in person people will say something to on social media because they feel protected because they just post what they want run. Right. We'll see I look at it. The other way. Why would you be with her? I find you much more attractive. I wouldn't go that far. Now, you know. I asked great t on tax. How was your vacation? So he gave me the list. He had a snow day of the kids. That was nice bought. You bought an expensive, soap what's that? I bought some soap the other day. They they smell so nice in the store, and I wanted to just pamper myself. So is is so expensive. If you buy two bars for twenty five dollars. Yes. Yeah. My what the homemade like they're made. They're not like, so it's artisan soap. Yes. Oh, what does it do for you? It makes me feel good. It's okay. Well, okay. So if it's twenty five dollars in five so you you drank with friends at a bar. Yeah. Yeah. Good times a lot of laughs. Right. You took a picture of yourself on Instagram hating criticism. You what you got a nail in your tire. You need a new tire. That's correct. Yeah. That's a part of your vacation list. Right. What I do. I ran over. I went through a construction site. I guess and I got a nail in my tire and have to get a new one now great t smoke cigars and drank a twenty one year old Glenfiddich whisky. Do you know the difference? Elvis. It is amazing the difference. It's to Gandhi Gandhi. Our local whiskey expert mine shut off the whis is stick. You bought new underwear? I love my new underwear. Hold on. What kind jockey makes them jockey? There are sportsman jonky had he gets so excited fits so comfortably. I can't believe it. I've got to get more pairs now. And but you buried your grandmother, we did that was how we started off on Monday. We yeah, we put grandma at arrest and. It was weird ever done. This anybody in the room or Elvis ever you buried a person that's very close to you. And you're just speaking to them. Maybe let's say a week prior to and then after they're gone, and you know, they're gone. You still hear their voice. It's a wonderful thing though. I mean talk to them I'm telling you right now, Greg I'm not I'm not sure who really has the answer. And we probably won't have it until we pass away. Right. The secret Johnny calls it. But people are still in my mind and heart are still alive. Even though they're physically not with you. They live in this. I'm not saying just memories. I I feel that they're still with us. I I wish I could explain it people think they know the answer. But you're not going to know the answer to you croak. Hey, can we talk about underwear for second? I'm sorry. Can we? I'm not focusing Emma. Let's go ride our bikes. So we're on the ouija bliss. I sent my my clothes out to be washed washed got him back. They did a great job in going through the underwear. And there's a pair of underwear. That's not mine. I someone else's underwear back in. So so I'm like Alex for these years. He said, no there from the gap there, gap underwear. Okay. Were they gray? So in a look at him, and you could tell that they've been warned because the front had kind of pushed out because you know, some guys Weiner was in there with. So yesterday, I went to get ready for the day, I needed to clean her onto her and I pulled him out. I can't wear someone else's onto where they're clean in thought about it. Why this is kinda hot? So so I put him on. God one otherwise. No. It doesn't matter. It does matter. No. But I, but I started having these crazy like old gay man fantasies about who they belong to. And it was kinda cool. I was wearing someone else's own doors band were they I don't know. But my bad now, you're not let's take a vote. I know Gandhi would say, no. She's asleep. Just like me. I guess the point of when you figure out who's under where it actually is. But I know I'll never find out. That's the whole brain. You're right. But Daniel is that bad for me? Would you wear if someone if you found undergarments in your laundry, and you needed a pair, and you put them would you put them on and wear them, if they're clean clean? I mean, I've borrowed underwear from before the nose clean. I mean, if it's in the wash, and it's clean. It's clean. No. It's been a little too close for too long on something. Obviously, you wouldn't wear him because you know, what you do in yours. He's morning too. Seriously, frogging I haven't done one since six fifteen still going. Still dealing with you, log them. Now, the last time yelled that so. So so because it whatever reasons we couldn't take off I stayed in south Florida for another day. I may stay in other words, if the wind is going to slow down I just heard from our guys, but anyway, some in doing the show with froggy, and he says hold on listen to this one as a guy would do is. So he poops one out and it it's it's it's like a. The first one the second one was a little bit of the second one was like the second one was like, you know, when you blew up balloon a blue balloon, and then you pinch the end. Like a like a balloon not. And I did the performance I did a leg lift in the face every I'm like, what the hell was that? How does that come out of a human being? I'm. That was an hour ago. We're due for another one I feel like a weatherman. We have another fought coming in from the. I took to five year old with farts and will run out of the room because it's not the smell. It's what happens in my brain. Mentally. I just think I'm breathing in poop fumes. You are my lungs short hailing short check the radar. There's not another one on the radio. I know but you have a season like hurricane season. I do like five months. It's worse. It's baked beans. Eight yesterday bake it in America. They may go back and forth with each other. She's like really I mean, I've won khloe Kardashian go on the bachelorette. She doesn't mean the bachelor, you know, what I mean? Fifty five and a half million dollars. A lead a battling came in second. Lego movie to the second part came in number three. So congratulations to those. I have a cold. That's why sound like this. I'm ask you why you sound like homes, and I like crap normally, but this is. Do you feel as bad as you sound? I'm tired. But I don't feel as bad as I did yesterday. So that's okay. Holmes and Watson was your big winner or loser. However, you wanna look at it at the Razzies this weekend, we had the Oscars which give you the best. This is the worst in movies. So congratulations. I guess to homes Watson for bringing in all those great awards. What else Adam Levine's nipples at the Super Bowl? Do FCC complaints cocoa. Oh, no. Look, I I was one of the people I didn't complain to the FCC. But I said out loud. Why is it okay to show his, but we had all these problems with Janet Jackson? Right. So I kind of agree right there. But a lot of people were saying the same thing, I want him banned just like they did Janet. I don't wanna see those things some people just didn't wanna see them. What is about a guys nipples? Always wanted to ask that question on the radio show. What is it about a guys nipple mind seeing them? It was just a double standard. Yeah. I agree. It was totally. So you're saying it's not that you don't want to see his it's you're saying you do to see Janet. Yeah. I just feel like if we're going to make such a big deal about Janet's than we really shouldn't allow Adam to do the same thing. She only one right? And the supposedly it was an accident that we've been talking about nipples for like two minutes. This is another reason I should complain to the FCC about this show. Let's talk a nipple show. You wouldn't be the first, let's. Guy. Liam Hemsworth, even hotter. When he cuddles a puppy. Oh, where's that might Twitter? Daniel minero, I posted the picture for you, actually, his wife Miley Cyrus posted the picture I and I stole from her wanna go see it. He looked so Cucuta cutting this puppy. But it is the most awkward uncomfortable. Dating situation you've ever seen. What does this show brought been talking about Penn? Fifteen. Oh, it's on who've on Hulu. Yeah. Right. Lot of my kids friends, and they are loving the show about kids growing up going to middle school in the two thousands. And it'll pen fifteen looks like, you know, the male private pot when you spell it out. So that's the real name of the movie or the show on Hulu recommended. Okay. All right. It's very funny pen fifteen and so Gandhi has a problem with her mother. I do. Okay. I see I I'm not a parent. But I see where she's coming from Daniel ever this Danielle is apparent maybe she agrees with your mother. So go ahead tell it till Danielle. What's going on in ask her opinion? Okay. So over the break, my mom, and I got into a little bit tiff because she said I needed to give her Elvis's phone number. And I was like get the heck outta here. You do not need his numbers. She said Elvis told me on the first day, I could have in case of emergency. The I know you did I wish you would take that back. But like what planet does someone get their bosses number in case of emergency. That's very weird. What's the big deal? No. Because there are plenty of first of all if there were an emergency. Like, if I'm if I'm here, you can hear me on the radio, you can call the hotline, you can call my cellphone. There are lots of different people. You would call before Elvis Duran to deck on me. I have my question. Are you not giving her the number because you have frayed she'll find out some stuff that you know, what? No or call to have a conversation. Just call to Elvis and talk one hundred percent that she'll call to have a conversation or she'll start texting him weird things and pictures like no, this is my boss. I love him, and we are friends outside of work. But he's not my mom's friend. Say my phone ring right now. And it said oh Ghandi's. Mommy, pick up. Hello. Yes. Hey, boo. Absolutely not. She she would only call if there is an emergency. But as a parent Daniel, I mean, do you think it's cool for your mom to have my phone numbers? Or I would give it to her. No give my dad it because I think like my dad would blow your phone up texting you constantly. I would not give my mom and dad Elvis phone number because they would think like, oh, we're friends with him. Now, we text him anytime. I would want that. And no it can't happen on also needed to be known. She's never asked for another boss's phone number. It's yours. And I'm like, what are you more Elvis's more welcoming Elvis makes you feel like you're his friend. Right. Probably not as friend. But. You're my family. You're not. Got so heated that I had to text Brody over the break and ask him for the hotline number, and then Brody was like you don't get the hotline number, and then I'm sitting here like why find Brody she's getting your number? Someone's someone's numbers getting given to my mother Rhody Brody didn't give you the hotline member. Why will you can have the hotline? Here. I'll give it to you want to stop. I said sure what do you need it for an interview, you're setting up? She's no, my mom wants it. Mom can't call him out line. My dad tried that too. But you can give them my number gone. That's right told her I said, honestly, mom, if there's an emergency Danielle might be better for that. And then Sam lives the closest to if you're really freaking out about that. You don't get my bosses number in case of emergency. That's weird. All right. All right. We'll thank you. Thanks for looking out for me. Welcome. Thank you for being so nice and tricking her into thinking, you guys are phones. So I gotta tell you guys you missed our first ever drag brunch in four in Fort Lauderdale yesterday. Nobody there was this one drag Queen she I mean, do you know, what I'm talking about which the one that was dancing on our table yell, and she's visiting my kids toned outfit. Yeah. She was picking up our eating utensils with her. But like it was such a great tea bit is a little more tape. Just a little because you you forget there's such beautiful women. We're going to have one in like twenty thirty minutes so excited to have them on their huge. They've so many fans they actually stopped down downstairs knowing they relate for a show. They still they still spent time with their fans. I think that it's a great thing says a lot about them. Anyway, they're going to do their song. Pretend they're going to do some other. We have no idea what it is. But that's on the way. Let's go around the room. We'll start with you skiffs giving frogging boggy cloudy here. Beautiful south, Florida. Thanks for hosting me. Today. You are very welcome. So as you know, we're packing my house and leases making fun of me because on the side of every box. I'm writing what's in the box some butts good idea, it looks like it looks like a short story on the side of the box. Just like random crap in there. Right. So the other day Lisa getting ready for the drag brunch. She needed these one pair specific shoes that she said she wasn't going to need. But I knew. They're going to be needed. Thank you to my box writing skills. I found them right away. And I proved once again that you know, what I'm not as dumb. She thinks. I am. It's a great thing. Don't make fun of me for writing everything that's on the fraud in the box from now on we'll be known as the box writer the boxer. Sexy. Name. What is your Sam what's up with you today? I want to congratulate anybody out there who is entering a next phase of their life. Whatever that means to each person, I got to witness it over the weekend with my little sister who hosted her very first dinner party for no reason in her new house. So they've been there for about a year. But this was the first time that my sister and her fiance were comfortable like, hey cousins. Hey, family, come on over cook. And I was just so proud of her I went and full Janta mode. So anyone out there doing their next step big thing? Good for you. I it's something as simple as a dinner party. If it's their first one, you know that they were so excited to do it. So it was a good time. They did a great job. It was him. Hey, what's up? Danielle. I'm so proud of myself. So we've been on reorganizing couple of rooms in my house in my little son's room. And like this little hallway room trying to make it like a little office space and at the same time a little dressing room for my but a lot of little room, but let me wait list. This. I put together all this furniture by myself. But I really instructions I had my screwdriver in my hammer, and it, and it's all still together. Like, none of it is broken nothing is falling apart. I am more stuff coming. I'm excited. I couldn't believe that. I did it what complement that? I felt from this. It would. So you know, what you can do it? You can build for the church. But that thing's gonna fall apart. Like, your TV that fell off the wall. Oh, yeah. Foggy you have no room to talk from those around. But he mounted his TV on the wall fell on build a hundred bridges in one bridge falls. And everybody says your bed bridge Bill. Stop it. What's up with you Gandhi? Okay. So I we've talked about this a little bit earlier. I went on the cash cruise thanks to Norwegian cruise line. And it was amazing. And I just wanted to say I've never been around a crowd who was more loving and affectionate and inclusive than the people who were on this boat, and it just wore my heart because I know that it wasn't LGBTQ cruise. So I'm sure that they've dealt with so much adversity in their lives. But to see them turn around and be so wonderful to everyone else. It was just great and it warmed my heart. So if you were on that Kesse cruise, I love you. I ran into a listener who's a music teacher in queens. She said I decided I wanted to get away. I went by myself. It was awesome view. I met a tone of single cruisers as well on Norwegian bliss, and as a matter of fact, they have a section of the ship that's devoted to single cruisers. And they have their own little nightclub and stuff in there. I wanted to go there. I wanna go hang out with the they've got their own meeting rooms, everything it really really is a cool area in the party. Hang. With the single people. Then I'm reminded that. Well, my feelings moving. So maybe next time. Let's get into sound with Garrett. Garrett's got lots of stuff today. I'm sure you have some Oscar sound what wherever you want to start. Let's start with the Oscars from last night. So Tina Fey Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph. They started the show but made it clear that they weren't the host. But if they were the host, here's some of the jokes. They would've told hey Chadwick both what kinda plans you got later. So tight they've entered my spider verse. Sam Elliott from Semilet mustache. On Netflix wants next. My microwave. And then out cheese sandwiches from the fire festival. Unbeliev- it it what I'm hearing is. No one was offended. They didn't have a dedicated her. I don't think they need fun. They really don't need what it needs to these shows need to move faster. A hostess hold it up over saying those three probably could host next year. Self-funding what we should do. Maybe this show should go without a home. Awesome. The first try it out. Go ahead. Well, she have in Our Lady Gaga won for best song for shallow. And this is her acceptance to my sister, my soul mate, I love you. Bye families here. I love you. Mom and dad, Bradley, there is not a single person on the planet that could have same this on with me. But you think you for believing enough? Thank you so much. If you're at home, and you're sitting on your couch, and you are watching this right now all have to say that this is hard work. I've worked hard for a long time. And it's not about you know. It's not about when. But what it's about is not giving up. If you have a dream fight for it. There's a discipline for passion. And it's not about how many times you get rejected or foot you fall down or your beaten up. It's about how many times you stand up and our brave and you keep on going. Thank you. It's amazing. Didn't hear the whole thing. That was a love it. Love got up on stage with Bradley Cooper, and they perform shallow together. All they were. So I did see this. Why listen to that, you know, by the way, people stop stop saying that they're together. They're not everybody. Getting paid to another woman and his other woman was there with him. Yeah. Stop it. Then they got cast it together. They worked perfectly together on Reno. What happens on screen then you win? To another woman. I had these issues in college every time, I my other. You know, the guy that I was with on the stage in a thing of. Her guys in gauge to another. Why move move on this is it's making me. So they're not together. They have great chemistry. Every now watch it come back and bite me in the ass. All right. Vice one best hair and makeup and the three people were so nervous. They all decided to read off the same sheet that they printed out in case they won. And it got awkward and some are saying the worst speech ever. Christian bale? You're here. Go ahead. Plan plan b Gary Sanchez. The voting academy members, and our fellow nominees from the UK, and we thank you. Christian bale fantastic. So a great our guy. Turn it off. You went on for two minutes. Here's the problem. They they deserve their time to say, thank you. And it just it's live. What are you gonna do by the way? Great great teasing. Things were all wrong. She he knows for a fact that Gaga Bradley Cooper together. Because they are they have this incredible chemistry together. And then last when they sang I screaming at the television kiss kiss, and then he walked over and he sat down next to her and the piano bench. And then they smuggled right up next to her. And then when it was all over, and they looked at each other. They if you want great stem moved in, and then they're like, what are we doing? But the chemistry is dragging them together Elvis the same guy who has a different guy off the radio. Doesn't matter. Don't say I'm Greg t one at a restaurant is accusing lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper of the same. Exact thing they together. They are. Okay. Thank you. Go right. Listen. You wanna hear something cool? See is warming up there? Let's open the door. You hear them for? So good. Is I could sing like that. Okay. Turn it up real quick their privacy. All right. Let's go to CVS Lincoln Nebraska's. Someone changed the political sign that's out on someone People's Front lawns. And the news guy was in having it. Because of what they changed the name to Nebraska congressman, Jeff fourteen berry is running for reelection. That's fourteen berry. Well this week. Some rascal went vandalized one of Jeff fortenberrys yard signs. And then a piece of white tape was applied to turn the Owen his name to an A just really juvenile joke about flatulence down there the bottom. It says strong families strong communities strong odor. That would be a reference back to the part where his name was changed to berry. Okay. Our listener vet Williams got pulled up on stage over the weekend. She went to go see her favorite band disturb and disturbs at hey, I hear you have a great voice come on stage thing for the entire audience. She just used to our show. Yes. So what would that much talent? Listen to this show. She doesn't have a record contract disturbed said, hey grabber quickly. Because after this though. That makes us look like we have talent if we have someone like that with that much talent. Yes. But yeah, that's it. Thank you Garrett. You're going to. I've been a Scott all right headlines with Gandhi, and then we'll take a break in CNC. Oh, should be ready to go. All right. We've been talking about this morning. But there is a huge winter storm that is hitting the Great Lakes, the Appalachians and all the way up here into the northeast with gigantic gusts of wind. We're not sure the Elvis is gonna make it back today because gusts of winds are going between forty and seventy miles per hour. We've been in trash NATO's this morning. Looks like lights may becoming Dow stop signs are spinning around so problems to himself Laura say down there and enjoy it. President Trump says his meeting with Kim Jong Hoon that's happening in Vietnam. This week is their chance to give up nuclear weapons. So we'll see how that one goes scientists are baffled as to how a humpback whale ended up in the Amazon jungle, they have no idea how this could have happened. A thirty six foot calf was found Friday on the island of morale after people notice vultures circling around so crate, yes. So this just went to find out what it wasn't. It was a giant humpback whale. Even at thirty six feet. It was only a year old. I know said this week. The house is expected to vote on a resolution to block President Trump's declaration of a national emergency at the southern border. Nancy Pelosi is calling the declaration lawless and says President Trump is undermining the constitution. And finally, we can now check the weather on Mars. Thanks to Nasr's insight Lander. So it's always gonna make you feel good because Mars is freezing the kid even can the it's going to be like here. My towel. But I could go to whether dot com and take more Mars Mars currently. Currently negative one hundred and thirty eight degrees. You can also check general temperature stats wind and air pressure. If you feel compelled to see what's going on Mars doing this week, and maybe go to Mars verse jacket, chilly and those are your headlines for today. So I'm a weird for doing what I'm doing right now. Froggy what do you do? You know, what I it's been a long time since I've seen somebody do that. I'm drinking milk. He's treating it right out of the he's got like a little small like a single serving bottle. And usually he poured the beginning of it into a serial this morning, and he had some leftover. So generally, I don't see people just chugging down milk. I'm enjoying an ice show down little sip of Lecce. It's very much, not even chocolate milk milk milk. Is it whole milk or skim milk? This should be two percent. That's good. Okay. What, you know causing your own gusts of wind later probably doing that already been doing it. Dot ross. He always said that two percent of the best to drink. He said if you're gonna drink. He said he's a little fat. Exactly. And he always said it was two percent that was the one or skimming of Jimmy speaking of a doctorate he and his wife. They tweeted something of the weekend. We just had a beautiful breakfast of cauliflower rice with egg whites and blah, blah. What are you having for breakfast? I said, Bloody Mary. Like double with double the vodka meal. A Bloody Mary that's the great thing about Dr as healthy as he is. And he motivates all of us to eat better into exercise and be better people. But I have no problem telling him my vices are the following the drinking and French fries French fries, I saw him playing in the NBA celebrity game. He's actually quite the basketball. Now, he's a lot of people were saying that they couldn't believe how. Well, he did. He did really. Well, watched it because he eats cauliflower rice from breakfast. I see is ready to perform we can't wait to hear them. They're coming up for you next. Get your weather windy day. Plenty of win this morning. Sure. In the morning show. Larry house fallible. But I know they're going to be down here in south Florida later this week. So maybe I'll stay all week. Anyway, they're single pretend is out it's doing so. Well, they're going to do that life for us. Also a cover song we have no idea what they're going to do. That's my favorite kind of show. These guys have over a billion fans. They love him. We have two more left which is in Miami. And in Orlando, and it's been amazing before the fans of receives us with a lot of love a lot of support. We didn't expect people to be going to our shows here. So we're really grateful. We only know let's talk about that. Why why do you guys think of why are you so surprised at your success in the US we used to be in Atlanta, America? So like is like the beginning of CNC coming in the US would English Spangler single. So is just a lot of a lot of new things that are going on that we didn't expect for them to accept so easy. You know, so is super cool to see that everybody's singing the song, and they're enjoying it and enjoying the tour. Well and coming to see as well. So it's super Clifford or the first time that we were here in the United States. We just we came with people in Ricky lettuce opening your shows. So that's why we were so excited because now it's our show like our allies headline. Yeah. Now, did you hang out with Ricky glitziest? Yeah. Cool. So you know, what we know? Mama sniffed funny like they're leaving their let you sniff them again. Yes. This ROY dogs. We walk around sipping each other. We do. Yeah. My dogs. Do that all the time. Oh, see you said something that makes me I almost cried. I miss my dog. I've been away from max since what last Saturday over ten days. Yeah. But you know, he he stays with his trainer who's a very different Suzy and Suzy takes pictures and videos, I twenty times a day. So I'm always knowing what he's doing what he looks like in. I don't wanna upset you all of a sudden. And I don't know why I ask you like, you're just nowhere of everything they know or of all I've been I am. But you are why is it at one of my dogs. When one dog goes to the bathroom the dog cast who snip because they talked to each other through the smells in their urine. No, the other the other. Yes. So one goes poo and Rosenhaus iovine follows behind him it sniff to see how they love to sniff. There's information in your Putu at so weird. That it's humid out of the bathroom. I hope not faction of society. I just think it's so strange, and they know every time when the other went, can you imagine our conversations if we did do that. Oh god. I went out with this guy last night. And I was snippy his PU okay. And I could tell that he's got some kidney issue. Dude. I'm sniffing your PU you should go. See the doctor. I love my voice. But it's just they're just weird, man. Well, you know, they don't have the social pressures to not sniff. Get a second date if you're sniffing I'm gonna go ahead and say, no. That if we if we did sniff PU dog sniff Poon, right? I mean, it it's a whole other world. I mean, that's to then that Holly live in that world. Live in that world. And it's weird because like Rodney would wreck sniffs Rockies. But after going Phut rocky doesn't like it. He's like getaway, Honey. But when Rex Rex will stop let rocky get a full full on report. Right likes it. Speaking of what animals do so listen to this. So my cat. I had the butter opened on top of the counter. So the cat came over and started licking the butter. It was a brand new tub of butter, and I'm like about throwing that type of butter away. So just like this before the butter butter scraped off the entire first layer of the butter and the second layer. And then I put the butter back in the fridge. So then I was buttering my son's bagel, and I told him about it. He refused to eat the bagel because he said just what you said that cat licks. But and then you put it up my bagel, right? But no you off. I said I the first couple of your unit hub powerful. But particles are startles could climb down through the butter. Maybe that's how I got a cold. But butter what scary pretty much anything after I had that salad that Greg t had his way with that. I was eating. Crazy stuff to the salad now. Okay. So now, I don't feel anything. I'll eat stuff off the floor. I know in there saying that we have become to clean, and that's why we're so sick all the time. There's they're also saying that could be the reason why people have food food allergies more now than the old days because we are obsessed with cleanliness and washing our hands every five minutes. So it's like, damned if you do damned if you don't lick your dogs, but today live forever. You know, what I'm saying someone's going to jail it? So the I think over our week off you, and I think we party the hardest. I am pretty sure of because we party the hardest. We're not a vacation. But I'm actually thinking that after this ten days, the drink Thon and party Ifan that we we had on the region bliss. Right. I'm thinking, it's. Yeah. I need to take a few days off. You know what I'm saying? I'm surprised bliss was able to leave the dock again on Saturday when you got off Saturday morning. I'm surprised that left Saturday afternoon that they didn't have to put it in like refurbishment, try and clean up the mess that you know, they they kept it. Nice and clean. We went up every morning, and they were up all night cleaning up after talk to everyone about your cash accrues on Norwegian Pearl. So it was one of the best trips that I've ever taken. If you've never done made it made it so great well aside from the fact that ketchup performed twice, which was really really cool. The crowd on the boat was just amazing. It was an elderly Vito Cruz, and they were so sweet and warm and loving and just really inclusive. Nobody was being mean to anyone I saw the best outfits of ever seen Instagram story along blood loss. Outfit was the best. There was a lot about flaws. That was a great outfit. I still think I have glitter in my lungs. Because people just had it in their pockets, and what you'd walk by there. Like right in your face. Glitter. I had a great time with my friend. Norwegian cruise line took care of us. We got a room with a sun deck. I mean, it was just beautiful. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. It was a perfect combination of go out party get crazy, and you can go back to your room and just become quiet. It was amazing or I loved Norwegian bliss. We really we really have a winner in and being the godparents of we're so blessed and we have a new Norwegian cruise line ship coming out on core. And I can't wait to tell you more about that. I mean, we've got great plans, but I wanna make sure we keep bliss and encore sold out. That's our job. Did you ever use the godparent line when you were on there because let me tell you Dave wrote it uses? Get stuck in a live. All we're godparents. He was telling CNC all about it. And then showing them on this model that we have in the studio exactly where you could get every member there have laser tag, right? And there's always a line for laser tag on bliss. And so I would wait on the line like a nice little girl. But Brody would be like God parrot. I get up. They have done a front any would work. It works. Did you ever use that line on? No, I don't do that. Until you. On the race track. I remember this. Well on the only one who doesn't draw on. I don't do that my name ever be. I'm afraid they're gonna go who who's Elvis what we don't want that to happen. But I will tell you. I miss bliss. That's my new line. I just love it. I love this the experience, and I'll be very Frank with you, I'm Elvis, but I'm going to be Frank. I was one of those people who never ever desired to go on a cruise. I never wanted to feel confined on a ship with the same people. And I proved myself so wrong in hopping on board and going for that cruise, and I could not have been more wrong. So if you're in that same league of people, and you just don't wanna step foot on a cruise. You just don't like the thought of it think it think that's room you really should start with Norwegian bliss. I've got tech Elvis almost every morning and said, oh my God. We are having the best time ever even better than the night before. It was incredible part that you loved the most on your vote. No, I love a million thing. I tell you what you said. Actually, I resonated with me being able to have an intense. Great fun time in and go back to your your bed that are the bed or so comfortable, and I just didn't want to go get out of that bed on I didn't for a whole day. Either a coupon. It's just watch TV and watch the ocean go by and so it was peaceful. But if you wanted to turn it up and ramp it up you can do that too going on the getaway out of New York in April. I'm for spring break and resign go that goes to Bahamas. I am. So and I've been on that ship a foreign it's so great that I wanna go on it again. And I love the fact that it's right down the block, basically, and I don't have to even get on a plane. So there's so many options when it comes to cruise with the Norwegian, you know, I love. All right. So go to MCI dot com in book book, it tell them told him, the godfather Elvis issue. That name when you're on the. I just don't do it. So then yell while we were doing vacation, you stayed home. You did a station station. It was I've never done that. I really wanna do that. It was nice. The kids will home a couple of days they had a couple of days off from school. So we did some fun stuff with them. And then I had three days to myself. So my girlfriend, and I I'm redecorating couple of rooms in my house. We just went furniture shopping. We had lunches we just had a great times. Always nice watch TBN Sunday morning yesterday. Yes. I saw it. What a tremendous show. They hit it out of the park every week. But they did a story about a lady who she stages homes for sale. Did you see story? Now what she she? She started doing it with one house, and she she was homeless for a minute. So she said, look, I'm gonna bring all my furniture in my plans to your house of that's that's on the market was empty, and she said, I'm all just make it look nice. And it's sold in a week. So she had to move all of her stuff to another house, and she sold that one. She started a business. With no money at all by doing this. And now she stages. I mean, thousands of houses in five different cities every year she has her own warehouse filled with the furniture, they use. And if you wanna buy any of it in states house that you it was just a great success story is huge. My husband is a realtor and his staging lady doesn't incredible job. And it really does make a difference in the house when you make a house, look like you've lived in it and you've loved it. It makes a difference and people wanting to buy it one of the tricks. They used inyo is in the kitchen, and I've seen houses for sale that have done this. They take apple pie. Will they have a house that they actually take these clear jars and they put pasta in them and put them next to the stove. And then they'll pour a glass of wine and put it next to an open cookbook. What makes you can picture yourself in there, like drinking wine and cooking, and they sell these houses faster because of this incredible staging business, but her her story, I wish I had her name. If you do a search for CBS Sunday morning house, staging or whatever you'll you'll you can watch the video of the story if you're out there, and you have a dream to start your own business, and you just you just need that courage of through maybe someone else's success to put your your neck out there. And just try her story was fantastic. So is it Meredith bear? Yes. Okay. Yeah. Now, she said, she has stayed how staging companies in five different markets story. If you like the way house is stage, can you just purchase a house, plus all the stuff in there? That's what she says. All of her stuff is for sale. Yeah. I don't think you can do that with everything 'cause froggy the house that frogging Lisa are buying lease at once all the stuff. That's in the house already. Can I just move in with this stuff? And they're like, you know, the owner sent us how much she wanted for each item. Lisa has now decided there you go by. Everything has a price tag. But the lady you just mentioned I didn't write her name. Now bear is her name narrative therapy, are she said everything everything is for sale except for her cat. Do they bring a cat into? Yeah. No. You don't you don't need that. Anyway. So great story. What else you guys want to talk about? We have like a loosey goosey moment. So to our to our credit. Oh skilling. Something scary scary. Always something. Yes. Gary just wanted to say that I went to Mexico, and I had a wonderful time, I visited cosmic Mel and Playa del Carmen and Cancun. I just I just had the best time. And it was so great to detox and relax and then ended with you this weekend. Re you re talked every talks at the south beach one food festival and visit your drag by you eating yet. I am meeting. Now allows him allowed to eat some that start. I'm allowed to have oil, but I'm not allowed. Spoonful of I'll be right with you re entry phase. I how vacation not being able to eat crushed. It will only the first two days. And then after that I was able to eat oils and nuts and seeds. So I can eat nuts and CC. Yes seeds. Sounds a hit at the drag burn. These. Oh, you wear Garrett went he were to that new. What's that new resolve more? But yeah, he went to new resort in the Bahamas. He said it was incredible with living. You know, how the commercial makes it look so good. He said it was like living in the commercial for the Nutley commercial and all the NBA players had their break because the all star game. They all went to Bahama, I was stepping on NBA players left. And right. That's so cool. There was stepping on you. Actually, I checked into my room, I room ready. And it turned out that Chris Paul the guy that plays for the Houston Rockets, but is in those state farm commercials had my room. He was he was staying in my room. So it's like your friends will be yes. But I was supposed to be in that room, but he was already in that room. So I I went to another room, but still. Yeah. Something tells me he was gonna win that fight. I swim with pig. Did that so cool? It looked all swimming with pigs. Pigs pigs it is so cool. Then you know, you would love it. Did you guys see a video of pig? She bit this girl Amalia Instagram, Molly that are on the ass. But yet that happened to me, but still a lot of fun. Well, now that Nate has a has a pig valve. With the pig. Go swim with by people are asking how doing Nate's doing great. We told him stay away recovered. Don't even think about it. So he he's not even calling people back texting doesn't respond who doesn't even he's he doesn't even respond when he's working here. But he needs time to do his thing. We love Nate. We want him to take care of himself. All right with that said, we need to get into the headlines with Gandhi, we've got a phone tap on the way about fifteen minutes. So hanging all right Gandhi. What's going on? All right, L Topo is seeking a new trial. Because apparently some reports surfaced of the jurors ignoring the judge's orders not to read media accounts during the actual case.
