"Oh, that's been going after him. Lieutenant Colonel Stewart Sheller, Public Enemy number one, Whitman was their hero, by the way, Love. Veneman weren't even allowed to say anything about Veneman, which made me say, you know, talk about him even more. Who's ever the left tells me not to talk about anything. You have to talk about it more. You have talked about it double and triple the amount. That's what they do. They try to silence you. The best way to break through that wall of silence is to flip them the double barrel middle finger and talk about it more. So it's just not right. How the left never seems to have any principles at all. They really object to this Stuart Sheller, calling out our military leadership, political leadership and others for not taking responsibility for the disaster in Afghanistan. Call him out, making public enemy number one. Yet when Veneman called out President Trump in uniform up to Capitol Hill, he was a hero. It's almost like the leftist No principles at all right. Well, he followed that up Stuart Sheller with another video. Where he's not apparently backing down at all. I don't know Stuart Sheller again. I can't Can't vouch for him because I don't know him. I don't. But I know for a fact that he took it on the chin here, and it's not backing down one bit. Check this out. Money can make you a slave to the system. And it can make you compromise what you truly believe in Don't need a single dollar. I just need every single person that's willing to go back outside the wire every single day to wear a blue collar and just go in and work every single day and feed their families. Those are the people that I need. Follow me and we will bring the whole thing system down. I am honorable. You can ask any Marine who served with me for 17 years. I dare you to ask them all and find out what I'm made of. We're just getting started.

Another one a fifth one bite and said the scenes unfolding today in afghanistan our gut wrenching. This morning. we saw chaotic exit from the kabul airport. Working From Home: Get Your Hybrid Schedule Right

"Of organizations are moving people back into physical offices at least part of the time but there is a lot more flexibility now than in the past so this can be a great opportunity to consider how you work best and what might make your work life balance possible. This episode was inspired by a question. I am getting a lot. these days. People note that their organizations want them to work in the office three days per week and at home two days per week. So which days would they like to work from home on some level. This isn't quite the right question. True flexibility means working from home when it works. Best for you which could change week to week this week. Your kid has a special lunch at school on wednesday so it would be good to work from home that day so you can dart over and back without losing too much work time or maybe you look at the traffic tuesday morning and see that there's a gigantic star on the bridge. You have to take to get to the office rather than sit in a solid hour of traffic. You decide that. That is a good day to work from home. But i know a lot of teams like to coordinate in-office coverage or when would be best for meetings and many people like to create a weekly rhythm that they can plan on. So i understand the impulse to designate. Which days will be worked from home days. That just leaves the question which days my first bit of advice don't automatically pick fridays. This is probably the most common choice and pre pandemic. it was basically the only day. Many places would allow people to work from home but friday tends to end earlier anyways so if it helps your work life balance to be home earlier you will automatically do that on fridays. You want to find different days where your work life balance could be improved. If you've an awful commute my choice would be to work from home. On tuesdays and thursdays this can make a bad commute more bearable. Because you never have to do it twice in a row.

"In this together. Trying to sort of bridge the gap from companies like yours which are very much in touch with the raw materials and the quality issues and the trends that are emerging out there and the rest of us who are very interested in seeing how those things develop. We want to know what these new and trending products are and which ones of those that we can have confidence in one. Bit of advice. I often recommend is. If you're not sure look for branded trademark clinically studied ingredients. And when you find those that's one of your keys to success with a product and success with a company that chooses to invest in those because that's going to be typically the more expensive ingredient and with good reason is accurate advice. That's excellent advice. I tell you if that is probably one of the single best pieces of advice you can give when you did using a trademarked ingredient. That as you say companies raw material suppliers will put money into it meaning that they will put money into conducting human clinical research on their materials. They're putting their money where their mouth is. They're saying look. We're studying this in humans. We're demonstrating that it has efficacy. Were demonstrating that has safety. It's one thing to be able to say. Oh there's a given nutraceutical that has a history of use or people are excited about it and it's another to say. Hey we've actually studied this in humans. We found that it actually works at. Has these specific measurable effects. And it's safe to use a safeties at an ongoing basis and most people don't take the time to determine if product claims are based on real science or marketing science and going with trademarked. Materials can be a big advantage in trying to make sure that what you're using is correct. Not every trademark material has a lot of research but a lot of them do. And that's what's so important. So yeah steve. We are on the same page. There that is i think just a great recommendation to

Is Tutu Atwell Too Small to Succeed in the NFL? - burst 08

"Now to god. The i know that you are extremely enthusiastic about Terrence marshall going to the panthers. Twenty seven th pick of the second round just a few picks after escorts from lsu tears marshall to the panthers. What are your thoughts on this cal. I'll pick it a fantastic lang spot. you know. I think i was super high on marshall. Probably highest of just about anybody in the industry All all college season. And all you know predrag and my my enthusiasm is not where one bit. I love the landing spot where some people might be turned off on it You know I know that he is not maybe going to be immediately. Be the number. One with robby anderson and with dj more there. But i think he's going to have a clear role from day one because if you look at his body type and how profiles ios not just a big bodied receiver he also is a a burner to i mean he is true burner and You know high jump. High catch radius any any provides the wide receivers did not do as your which was give a teddy bridgewater. Now is going to be darnold. But they didn't have anybody to score in the red zone. You know everything. They they scored was from like you know deeper out or the the running backs the mike davis or you know. But they really didn't have anybody in the red zone that they could produce. So i think marshall steps in right away and could be. I bet he has a real legitimate chance at leading all rookies in in receiving touchdowns ex year. So you know it's somebody that i like. As far as a talent. I think he can easier to age. Well in that offense because He is going back with his former college coach. Now the head coach of the of the panthers. So i think that this guy drafted him whereas he might have fallen a little bit in. Nfl draft because there was a little bit uncertainty right before the draft about some of his medical history. I don't think coach takes them at high if he has any type about about the about his foot injury so i think that this is going to be the guy that's going to be all help you. Now you're gonna have some flashes. He's going to be probably inconsistent. Probably a lot like a like. I kind of value him a lot. Like the where i had claypool asher whereas i kind of knew that there was going to be a lot of competition for targets but i knew that there was gonna be a lot of upset especially if somebody gets hurt And i just think that there's gonna be a lotta touchdown and he's a big guy when people start really understanding how much of a freak athlete is. Don't be surprised if this guy is being compared as maybe even number one wide receiver in this class next year. That's that's how upside. i see you know. I do think chases a better prospect but you know they were on the same team and You know even on the team with jefferson and chase He marshall was extremely valuable piece of their natural shape team. I mean he. I think he had like fourteen touchdowns or something you know. And he had costa twenty yard per catch average on the team. I mean he he really is a tremendous player and then when those two guys left last year you know he played over about a. I don't know about six or seven seven games. you opted out. And he averaged one hundred and fifteen dollars. You're talking about more leading devante smith. It was really. I believe tears marshall who bleeding the country in yards per game you know before he opted out and he also was averaging close to two touchdowns a game you know and this same competition is all those. Stc guy so. I just liked body. I can't i hate to sound like a broken record. But i really do like big receivers. It's not the smaller wide. Receivers can't thrive in that bayer wide receivers don't bust. I just think that when you historically look at all the body types of players that are generally over six foot in there like over two hundred pounds to twenty six. I'd say two to twenty is about the average. You know we get the top hand wide receiver fantasy for fancy standpoint every year. That's probably about the average. So i like my guys. That profile big catch raises. So i just feel like they're more consistent with a when when you get that's capable of being a possession receiver getting first downs and touchdowns. I i like their consistency versus having a field stretcher. We might put up forty points in a game lake. You kyle i am. I am feeling good about carrots. Marshall and about what he's gonna do in his nfl career. The only hold back that. I have with taras marshall and again this could be viewed as a positive based on what i'm going to say in a second is so terrorist marshall hops into offense with dj more lobbying said in christian. Mccaffrey already there. So you're already looking at the possibility of being the fourth target there in carolina which i deal and add that to the fact that sam darnold who i think everyone considers at this point to be in the bottom. Half of the starting quarterbacks is throwing the ball to terrence. Marshall this is this is clearly not ideal so short term. There are some concerns. I do think like you that he's going to be great in the red zone. Short term era. You're gotta be thinking while sam. Donna already has connected to robinson clearly. The carolina organization views. Dj moore's or number receiver cj. Metcalf a christian mccaffrey a year a year ago. He broke the record for the most receptions for running back in a single season ever. She has to view him almost as a receiver. At this point with the matt of receptions which is insane that he's getting one hundred receptions i think it was a year or two ago so that that's not ideal but dynasty football dicey football so not necessarily great redraft person. In my opinion but dynasty football is about the long game and the long game. I see in the long game i see turns marshall absolutely thriving because we don't know a five we anderson's gonna be in carolina long-term. We don't know what the scenario is going to be with. Sam darnold or with christian mccaffrey. Dj more but we know the is one of the best receivers in this class in. He is talented enough will were at some point career. He will get an opportunity probably sooner rather than later if not this year to really showcase what he can do and he has the talent to be a number one receiver. I love his size. I loved as a big bodied receiver. That's a great fan a red zone. There are a lot of good things about terrence marshall and so what i was saying earlier is the fact that not going to be good in the short term is almost a positive here for you as a dynasty are because now we're seeing him fall to the third fourth fifth round pick of the second round which is lower than it should be gone if anything. This guy should be going at the back half of the first half so now because the term concern that comes with marshall. Now you're gonna be able to go up there and gets terrorist marshall and you're not gonna have to reach from either he's probably just gonna fall right in your laps and you're gonna walk is one of the biggest winners in your dynasty graphs. Because here's a guy that has a potential to be a top five receiver in this

It's I don't know how many times we're going to say worst loss ever because it feels like we've said it a lot. It's hard to not bother. It's hard to not tell this the worst loss ever. This is so this Jeff they work. They were atrocious and embarrassment but I don't listen, I don't care that Jayson. Tatum and Kemba Walker didn't play. I do care because I think Jason should have been out there. I don't know how bad the injury is, or whatever, is dealing with public. And it came like this, you gotta be out there. This is what 11/12 games left in the regular season. You needed this win, you could ill afford a loss like this, but even without Tatum and Kemba last name. They were without shade gilgeous-alexander, and they stink, they absolutely stink. They're trying to tank they've got a garbage team other than Lou door and you lost. You had supposedly Dead one of the top 25 players in the NBA in jail and Brad. I thought, Oh, supposedly. And it starts now, you mean using all subjects, you mean you're not lose. That's the supposedly Factor know. It's, it's true. Jeff look. I think they rolled the dice on Tatum thinking we could get away with tonight and still squash out the window. And so we needed to give him a day off. Let's pick the game and they pick this one on the back to back on the front, end of a back-to-back, and it burned him obviously. And I don't think he's, I don't think he's hurt but I mean, I get it doesn't matter. I wanna be out <Speech_Male> and about more <Speech_Male> in a little more <Speech_Male> active but <Speech_Male> i also want to be able <Speech_Male> to. <Speech_Male> You know i've <Speech_Male> had dinner and i'm <Speech_Male> driving up the hill. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Yeah electric <Speech_Male> bike would be more <Speech_Male> fun to slip up the hill. <Speech_Male> Have you checked <Speech_Male> out the van move. <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> A what <Speech_Male> the van move. <Speech_Male> Be a <Speech_Male> an emo <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> f- yeah there <Speech_Male> is and yes. <Speech_Male> This is a <Speech_Male> beautiful and <Speech_Male> this isn't sponsored. <Speech_Male> I just really <Speech_Male> love this electric <Speech_Male> bike. I've i've taken a ride <Speech_Male> on it. It <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> looks beautiful. <Speech_Male> It does not look <Speech_Male> like an electric bike. <Silence> Oh it's not chunky. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Theories <SpeakerChange> must be in the <Speech_Male> frame right. Yeah <Speech_Male> the batteries and the frame <Speech_Male> because most electric bikes. <Speech_Male> They <Speech_Male> look like electric <Speech_Male> bikes. This looks <Speech_Male> like a very sleek <Speech_Male> citi bike <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> you have that added <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> electric motors <Speech_Male> to to help you up <Speech_Male> those Bay area <Speech_Male> hills and stuff like <Speech_Male> that. But <Speech_Male> this one is about to grab <Speech_Male> so <Speech_Male> little bit on more on the pricey <Speech_Male> side. I've seen <Speech_Male> some electric bikes <Speech_Male> go for like two <Speech_Male> hundred three hundred dollars. <Speech_Male> This is <Speech_Male> not that <Speech_Male> this is definitely <Speech_Male> a more premium <Speech_Male> experience kind <Speech_Male> of the apple electric <Speech_Male> bike.

"Key state owned companies from driving tesla vehicles citing concerns about how data is collected from tesla vehicles and it potentially being the source of national security leaks. Beijing is concerned about how chinese vehicle data might be sent back to the us. This follows a government security review of tests price in china where officials have raised concerns. About how tesla vehicle cameras can record images constantly access vehicle usage records as well as contact lists in response elon. musk said. there is a strong incentive. There's a very strong incentive for us to be very confidential with any information if tesla vehicles were used to spy in china the company would be shutdown now. China represents about thirty percent of the company's sales. Jason do you think that the love affair between china and tesla is slowly breaking down. Keep in mind. Tessa was actually one of the few companies that is able to wholly owned factory in china. Usually it's a joint venture arrangement but tessa was able to come in and fully own their factory with the support of the chinese guy. I mean this is a very simple resolution here. You could just have all of the data from the cameras. And the cars location everything stored locally in an encrypted fashion and not allow it to be uploaded to the cloud very simple Solution and in fact they added the check box of. Do not turn off the camera inside the cabin. That little camera by mira. Which i think eventually going to be to make sure that The driver is paying attention to the road. Like there's somebody in the driver's seat was kind of the idea behind that i think Is what they talked about. And also for security if somebody breaks into your car So you can turn that off or you could put a piece of tape over at like people do with their laptops. I think it's a non issue You know you can very easily and as you said like there's a pretty big incentive for them to not release this and also the chinese government has tiktok and that's spread in america. They have all that data in all likelihood or have access to it if they want to so. I think when you're when the chinese are operating the united states they can kind of do whatever they want. And when american companies operating in china they can do whatever the government there wants. That's the reality of so twitter and google and facebook are not allowed in china. "It seems like yesterday that we were talking. And i thought i think people agreed your season run very well. You may not have gotten quite the one the winds that you were hoping for but if we could look back for a second what did you take away from from twenty. Yeah you know. I think we exceeded expectations. I think there was a lot of people when we saw this. C- schedule all sec. Schedule come out with what we were dealing with the ncaa sanctions and all that stuff You know the to finish five and five in the league i think we exceeded the expectation But we didn't meet the standard obviously moving forward The goal of this program is to compete for the sec. Nobody plays Football to play for second. And we're in a really good division a really tough division. And i know you know at the top of that georgia and florida but We gotta make room for our self in the sec. And that's why i'm here They didn't bring me here to play for six or seven. We're we're here to try to play first in. So that's that's really the the standard This past year. Like i said we exceeded expectations. I think we're finished To to pick last or second to last in our division we finished third Finished six in the sec but We got to continue to improve. We're not going to get there. You know in one major step we got continue to take it one bite at a time and in bringing in coach wilkes on the defense side of the ball continue improve on the offensive side of the ball become more explosive score more touchdowns in the red zone. Be better than situational football. If we can make those steps. I think we can put ourselves in a position to contend you know if you look at the halftime scores against the two teams. The two top teams in the sec. It's twenty one to fourteen against georgia And then we didn't show up in the second half in florida we. We had a turnover right before half time to make it twenty two seven And we didn't show up in the second half we got gotta be a team that shows up in the second half and if we can do that and then we can make our place in the sec.

"one bit" Discussed on Marketing Above All

"Hey there and welcome to episode ninety one. Today's topic is a continuation from yesterday. where it was talking about? `Bout another business biting the dust so I wanted to deliver continuation because I feel like I struck doc. A nerve and I shouldn't even say I feel like I should say I know because it got lots of comments. I had emails. I had add social media messages some good stuff and in some not so good so I wanted to clarify a little bit but like always. I wanted to give you some of the reasons that that I see a business going out of business. And and what was the contributing or contributing plural factors so the couple of the businesses that I spoke about yesterday they had a lot of contributing factors but when I've been analyzing businesses businesses that have bitten the dust and the crazy thing is again. This morning there was another local business and as I was scrolling through my facebook news feed that says is it's closing and I did the same thing that I did with the other ones. I reach out and express my condolences but also offered a talk to see see if the sharing their story could help benefit people like yourself and as I look back at all of my notes and I'm actually compiling. All these notes is into another book. That's focused on a lot more of the metrics and grabbing all these stories. And what does it actually mean but there are really three contributing factors. The first one is cash. I mean they typically make the decision to close their doors because they're overextended or they ran out of cash and that's either the business was poorly funded. They didn't manage the cash correctly. They didn't implant effectively a around the cash. I mean they're cash is king and if you don't have revenue coming in and a consistent basis it's GonNa make for your planning and and really really anything in a lot more difficult. So cash is the first reason the second reason is failing to plan and that could take a lot of lot of different turns and it could mean a lot of different things but in interviewing these different businesses. It's not that they didn't have any kind of plans but they often were more of the accidental entrepreneur. You had a passion for baking and all of a sudden you decided to open up a bakery so you just kinda found a place and you just it kind of trial by error and there really wasn't a full-blown plan of this is the revenue you need. This was the type of customer you want. Here's your pricing. The planning piece really was lacklustre in it was a lot out of lackluster in detail. So a lot of the businesses that I talked to there was something that sprung up on them that they had no idea or they weren't plan plan for employees issues and fringe contracts. They didn't read the least properly one business in particular They had a space and they didn't realize that in the lease there was a closet. They were responsible for all just upgrades but maintenance to the building which I've never actually seen that Italy's but I'm in no means lease expert. I prefer to work in my pajamas from home and it just didn't read it over admitted why just didn't read it. I just just signed it. Didn't even read the twenty five patients. Just sign the dotted line and all of a sudden six months into it. I am on the hook for eight thousand dollars in building repairs and and then you go back to item number one cash if you don't have the funding if you don't have rainy day funds if you're not constantly watching your your cash you are going to run into issues. I I look at the cash number every single day. How much cash to a have her do? UN Not have what are the forecast expenses forecasted revenue was receivables. All of that stuff on it like white N.. Rice the the third reason and this was the reason that I initially went on the hunt to doing. This research was marketing. My hypothesis was that they either sucked it marketing or they did very little marketing or the marketing that they did do wasn't effective almost every single business that I have spoken to has said if you build it they will come in. It isn't necessarily just for a physical business a lot of the businesses. It is so so yeah I figured if I put a bakery up a sign that the foot traffic would just are coming in. I put up a meet shop in a former location of another meat shop. I assume that all the other customers would just come over to my business. I opened up a website and I figured Google would start sending sending me some love from day one. So there's a lot of those assumptions and it's those assumptions the lack of planning and also just the lack of effective effective marketing on a day in day out basis. That again for like the eight thousand time I mean. That's the reason why I call the marketing above all and that's the reason that my agency is called no joke marketing. If you do not take marketing your business. The as the most important function you are going to be up a creek. It doesn't matter how amazing in your product or services and I'll give you an example. I do a lot of work. With childcare centers preschools daycares usually multi-centre multicentre locations. And the number one reason that they don't WanNa hire us to help them with their marketing is that they're full or the right a wait list and what's interesting is not A. It's close to impossible for me to convince them to do anything because they just assume that. If it's it's always been this way that it's always going to continue. But then something happens and then all of a sudden they're not full they don't have a wait list and then in its disaster mode and they are just taking their eye off the ball. You always have to be marketing. Your Business that has been the main common common denominator to the businesses that I've spoken with and I've already spoken with just over one hundred in all different shapes and sizes online offline service business product business snus mean restaurants cleaning businesses that have had to either closed their doors. They made the decision shut down or they've went bankrupt due to the business. This and I go through lots and lots of different questions and I keep coming back to those three responses. I didn't have enough cash to weather. The storm it didn't make enough money a lot of these business owners and even take a salary. They took nothing nothing out of the business. The second one was they just didn't didn't have enough plans or enough knowledge and can a hot tub continue to move the business in the right direction and the third one almost every single time is they. They just didn't have an effective marketing system. They just didn't. There was no reoccurring way to keep customers. Coming in to keep deep the reoccurring customers happy and informed and up to date it. Just wasn't there. I mean the great thing is regardless of where you are today. You just have to move the needle a little bit. move the needle a little bit in the right direction. Start with something small and move the needle. Oh you don't have to go full guns blazing and financial. You're not going to be able to weather the storm with that either because if you haven't been investing in marketing and a reoccurring basis you haven't even built it into the expense category because then you're headed still an expense regardless of me banging my head against the wall that convinced convinced that it's an investment in you and your business you're still going to see it as an expense and you can't go from investing two hundred dollars a month to five thousand overnight. Pick one area. Start to move the needle. It's all that I'm encouraging you to do today. So I hope this some more clarity. A lot of people are saying well Michael. What were the main main reason? So those are the main reasons cash planning lack of marketing. That those are the big three. There were lots of other one off reasons wins and divorces and I mean one business had a fire and they didn't have insurance and employee theft and there's a lot of other randomness but those were the main three three things that contributed to that business. Going out of business. This stuff is serious. Serious business. Put marketing above. All in your business will stand the test of time Michael signing off. Good morning good afternoon and good night. Thank you for listening to this episode of of marketing. Above all get out there make a change and take some action and hey don't forget to leave a five star review view and tell all your friends. "He's you know, technically, not their coach right now. But he's relatively involved as much as it's been coach probably could be at this point. And it I I tend to agree though, that if if they were certain they wanted to get rid of him. Why haven't they? Good question. And again, maybe maybe I'm not viewing it through very clear glasses. But I think I am. January. I don't mean to cast aspersions on LSU. But I think you you, and I would both agree. It's it's a different place. Well, and I. It it in somewhat in some ways, I guess similar to the situation in Auburn where there was a lot of reports Bruce Pearl than wanna talk to him about certain things last year. But no, I mean, you're absolutely right on the wiretap. I mean if he's on tape talking about an offer to a cab. I mean, that's I I don't care who you are. It's going to be really hard to get past that. But but at the same time he's done well at LSU, and that that's the thing with all of this a lot of the coaches that in one form or another. We're tied into all this. They're good coaches. They've won a lot their coaches at the schools want to hold onto, you know, up here in Louisville that that was why little was the one that moves so quickly in granted in the case of Rick Pitino there. It wasn't just that there were other issues, of course. But you know, he was a pretty successful coach at the time there too. And that's what makes all this. So fascinating in college bath Patino before you go because. His name's been linked every job. And then it it's like a balloon it goes up, and then immediately blown apart like the Hindenburg. But I mean, do you do you do you believe that he can get any now these jobs? No, I don't I think I think he would want them. Sure. I do. I mean, he's coaching professionally in Greece right now. And I think he made all sorts of attempts before that happened be, you know, all levels of college in the NBA. I mean, the main clearly wanted to still coach and he's clearly in football. I believe he would want to he would want the opportunity at probably any of the schools, but. Right now, he's what he still has saying over him as the idea of NCA investigation delusional that hasn't even happened yet. In addition to. The issue with Katrina Powell and the sex scandal before that so. You know, you're talking about a guy that the NCAA could give show 'cause to and you don't know it yet. You don't know what's going to come to that. So I just don't see how any school could take that chance without knowing what's going to come out. You know, you the risk you run at that point is Danni ten kind of situation. Yeah. Those who don't know di- Donnie ten was hired by Tennessee while southern miss was being investigated, and he did not last very long. Right. Which is good for Tennessee. Because they got rid Barnes as a result, gentry many. Thanks great to catch up with you again. Yeah. Thanks, Paul, ticker, good staff from gentry esus. And again, the we'll wait to Matt Moscone is credit. He he's in Baton Rouge. She says a Joel even the administration wants we'll way to be the head coach. But there is another school of thought elsewhere that shaking their head to such a feverish degree that they're going to have whiplash at that's ought. Thank you. "I like Scofield Williams produce gonna be a tough match up for them. If they get by them, a really like their chances against Virginia and to BUSTER and get to the programs first final four, no doubt. I mean, there are some amazing possibilities this weekend. Some brilliant like you said, and then there are some that would be mind numbing to television audiences. Oh, yeah. From SEC standpoint too. I mean, what do you do with LSU team that obviously had a lot of controversy. I do like the way they kind of battled with Maryland. They lose the lead. They're going to have to shoot the ball a lot better than they did the second half against Maryland jail. And they're against the team that obviously has done the us against the world thing for quite a while in Michigan state, but that's a good match up as well. Auburn's probably got the longest odds just because North Carolina's playing so well because the one thing that matchup is Auburn shut the three so well last weekend, they could shoot that. Well, and still lose against North Carolina. That's how. Unloaded that or he'll team it. I want to Florida state Auburn final to re- to re- re- reinvigorate the twenty thirteen national championship in football. I thought you wanted to Florida state Virginia Tech. So we could go way back in ninety nine and four. But yeah mean you're like me the brains always on football. Yeah. There's a lot of programs mayor. I mean, you could say Michigan Michigan state included that I wonder if they'd rather be McCollum football playoff than the. Four. I can think of a few always great to have you on Bill. Come back soon. We'll talk football next time. Thanks so much Paul Cristeta, though, better usually football guests, of course, everyone's a basketball guess right now again, repeating the story the afternoon, Mike Anderson gone at the university of Arkansas that it's four SEC head coaches who have been fired in about twelve days. Three in the last week LSU's probably will make that five once they put the basketball up for the season. We are up against a break. More of your phone calls as we roll along here on a Tuesday afternoon. Gentry is joining us who hasn't been around as long as some of us. But he probably understands the context entry great to have you back on the program. Jentzsch we've been on the show many times over the years. So we're trying to put into perspective what this means. And I'm gonna I'm gonna toss the potato to you to put it all in in context at it became the city to moral, Kentucky and. You know? And and I think that the big question right now for Kentucky is PJ Washington play leading score leading rebounder, that's kind of the big story line. I guess if they go into this week sixteen teen game against Houston. Well, tell us what you know about PJ Washington. Yeah..

"There was that story running around he might flirt with the UCLA job. And I thought about it for second. You know, you think about it on one end. Well, man, if he went to UCLA, he he'd be able to do whatever he wants there. But at the same time, I'm kind of glad he stayed at UK again, there's a program that in the second weekend. I honestly believe you can disagree with me. If you want on this. I think his presence in the SEC is really elevated higher conference because that's why Tennessee has Rick Barnes. You know? That's why auburn's in the Sweet Sixteen on some level to have a quarter of the brackets pretty impressive for that. For conference that you know, a lot of the fans of worried about spring practice right now. Listen to they're different points of their life. But but not by much I might add. But I mean there there are some comparisons. I think the other than the number of titles between Cowan Nick Sabin just in terms of what they mean to the program and ultimately to their part of the country. Oh, absolutely. And it takes a special kind of coach to be able to handle the expectations opposed to programs. I know right begging. I are one of our writers did that comparison few years ago. And obviously, you mentioned the biggest thing the titles, but to be able to handle the Kentucky coaching job for that long ten seasons with the chance to go to fifth final four to me. That's pretty impressive. You know, when you talk about blue bloods, North Carolina and Duke or getting a lot of the headlines, but he's the one that kind of pushed Kentucky back into that conversation. Same thing saving did at Alabama. I mean, they were in a downturn. And now, we you and I talked about it almost every time. It come on here about rather. That's the greatest. Football dynasty time. And it almost seems like to to Kentucky fans in cal- that opportunity that went awry a couple years ago four years ago with the undefeated team would have been the exclamation point for John Calipari. I mean that possibly would have gone down among the the greatest if not the greatest college basketball team of at least modern time and now people with each year that he doesn't get to the final four, and he may get there by the end of the weekend that keeps coming back up. It's it's almost haunting in a way. Yeah. I guess, but you know, he's kind of the model he used with the one and done it took so much criticism. And again, he sent all these the NBA, and here's two things. I would say about one when I watched Kentucky the thing that impresses me. Most isn't the five star talent or the offense. It's that you're in you're out he buys in gets those guys to buy in and play defense look with what they did against Wofford and Fletcher, Maggie the best shooters ever, and they shut him down. And they didn't shoot the ball while they still won the game to is do kind of the model, Paul. I mean, did your n and Barrett and all the guys they have and even their last title with Winslow and an Okeafor coach K absolutely followed the model. Well, no, there's no question. I mean calculated so well that the greatest name in the sport stole it. And then bettered him in the process. Yeah. And I think you know, we get into contention storyline. So this weekend and heading into the final four, and I'll pick up thing. I think you know, we're all just heard it on the promo for came on. Everybody's kinda pencilling in seen if we get Duke North Carolina and then national championship game. And that's fine. The ratings would be great. I'm sure, but you know, the networks would take Duke Kentucky to they want those two fan bases that they do. Okay. On the TV ratings. I actually think if one team gets through this weekend, you're gonna probably mock me here a little bit. I think it'd be Tennessee. I I just think I like their matchup, and no, no, no, mocking at all. I agree with you. Well, I I was there in Columbus this weekend. So picture watching the team go up twenty five lose that twenty five and then kind of have the guts to come back and win and I like to tighten it team..

"And again, the NCAA that that's the mall of the coach today is how do you do in the NCAA tournament? But but consider this politics, look this up in the last five years Mike's been there eight years, these coaches all went to the NCAA tournament this year and they've owned in their list at their school less than five years or less, the Florida coach Auburn. Mississippi State, Mississippi and Tennessee, and they all came in within the last five years that's got to weigh on an Atlantic director and a fan base like Arkansas who's used to win. And all of a sudden, they're v c in IT. And Bill Maher getting into the NCAA tournament. While I finally and I've met him. And he seems like a nice guy. But how do you know, you're closer to the scene than I am? But but is there any way to read hundred year check in terms of what he may or may not be interested in in relation to. Okay. Coach. No. Plus is that was a college basketball player? So he really knows to gain. He has a lot of admiration for Kelvin Sampson. He told me that more than a year ago when he found out I knew Kelvin, and we talked and he has a lot of admirations for what he did there. And in a hundred was. He was very instrumental in them raising the money to renovate the arena and put into practice facility because yet the that higher Kelvin left, and so one hundred stepped in and finished raising all the money. So he I think he has an idea of what it looks like and tastes like now if he can just find that guy that that will fit. It's I I'm I have seen very few people come from out west and be successful in the SEC in basketball. You almost have to know the players in the summer, you have to know everybody every inkling of the game, including what goes on in high schools and the summer circuit all that you have to be in tune with it to be successful SEC. While I know going on there what you get back to it. But thank you for coming on just moments after we learned that coach Anderson has been let go thank you, very very much. Thank you for having me, Paul while hall, and I want to echo something he said, and you know, this this kind of stuff doesn't really matter when when it comes down to making changes. But but I, but what he said about Mike Anderson is very accurate. He he is a first rate guy. I've known him a long time and had a great visit with him two weeks ago. Tomorrow in in Nashville when he joined us with his wife, she was right off to the side onset. I've known them a long time. And and he's he's always been a class guy. You never hear any allegations about rules violations. You don't hear any allegations about anything other than running a first class program? Unfortunately, you do have to get to the tournament in today's world, and he didn't get there enough. And that's why he is at least for the time being. On employed Arkansas making the change late this afternoon. That's four SEC coaches AM, Alabama Vanderbilt and now Arkansas with LSU likely to be right behind them. Once the tournament comes to an end, rare that you see so few changes in football. Did we have a change in football this year? Just in the assistance at Alabama, and so many in in college basketball. Shows you the league is getting pretty serious about the sport. Obviously, we'll take a break mortar. Come after this. You're listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. People getting off work. "I mean, I think this to me looks more like a bowl team than it ever. Did this time last this time last year that was some of the the worst football I've ever seen and the coaching staff knew that I think now there's there's a little more depth. I think they've got more side job keeping that really good strength coach away from Maryland from going home, correct jail. He doesn't really good job. They've got more pieces now. But you know, if you're sitting there and saying how they caught up to the bama's and Georgia's no, I don't think they have. But I think. Got a competent staff here. I think proves got some upside to him. And I think he has a pretty decent idea what he's doing. So. But I said from the beginning this would be a three year deal, and this is just your too. So you expect to see some some things going in the right direction. But I don't think you're going to be seeing them some knock down Bammer, Georgia anytime soon. Great heavy on west enjoy Louisville. We will hopefully talk very very soon. Thanks so much. No problem anytime, Paul, you know, that you got it. Great west rocker, always great to have on. We are up against a break here. We'll talk about the Kentucky Wildcats and a little bit later on yesterday. We had Bruce Pearl. So we covered that aspect more to come and more of your phone calls. Let me tell you without Pete who loved hockey and always wanted to play in the NHL Pete played since he was three and begged his mom to let him stay on the ice quite some nights. He even slept in his hockey skates. Pete practiced and practiced until one day when he was forty seven peak realized he just wasn't that good. So he threw his gates in the trash, but then you heard how Geico proud partner of NHL good save money on car insurance. So he switched and saved a bunch..

"Listening to Paul finebaum show podcast. Welcome come back. Rucker joining us. He does have support. He's always grad west great to have you on before we get to the the darlings of the Sweet Sixteen. The question has been asked already three times today about Holly Warlick. Can you give us an update on that? Yeah. Paul I think it's just a matter of time. I I can't tell you this certainty, but I think Tennessee is going to find a way to to put that politely, maybe mutual or wherever you want to call it. But I think Tennessee is going to be looking for a new women's basketball coach. And I think there's a couple of big names potentially who could be in play for that. So I don't really cover them every day. So wouldn't call myself an expert there, but I've heard the wheels are kind of emotion there or could they be just waiting to get in the way of the sweets. Not that everything would be getting in the way, it's not that. But it just seems like this thing's been going on for a long time now. Oh, yeah. Paula, and and I think that it's twofold one I think that Tennessee doesn't wanna take attention away from kind of its men's postseason run here. And I think the other part of it. And this is just as important. I think some of the coaches who could be interested very interested in a position our coaching women's teams Matt ornament. I don't want to take away from that. So I think it's two pronged. Okay. Let's move on. We ask the. Perfunctory question. We've got the answer. Let's talk about the men on the verge of of a collapse. It would be in the history books. They move on. And is there some reason to be nervous Tennessee has had to nerve wracking games. But can you can you square? What we're seeing over these last two games with what you've seen all year. And try to help us for what we will see Thursday night. Yeah. It's kind of funny Paul I was walking in in the tunnel there after that game and bumped into one is just encourages, and he just kind of looked at being grown and said just like you draw it up, you know. I mean, you know, you you don't expect you expect some madness in that tournament. And I gotta be honest with you the way that tournament had been going. It was such a telco thing that going into that day. I thought some mentioned is going to happen today. I don't know if it's do I don't know if it's Tennessee on Oprah's both Carolina or what but something's going to happen. And yet Tennessee was one of those games a twenty five point lead. I mean to see Tennessee play about as well as I've seen it play all season in one half. And in the very next half play. Maybe the worst. It's played all season that that was interesting, and and such an experienced team, you just don't expect to see something like that. They were just kind of turn the ball over at will Iowa got the momentum. And I had done the same thing Cincinnati two days before so so the Hawkeyes had that in them, but Tennessee. Kind of became a deer in the headlights there. And I and I wrote after the game that I couldn't figure out whether I wanted to say how did that happen or hey, good job getting out of that? Because I think both those things are true. You can say that there's no way you should get yourself in a situation. But then once you're in that situation. I think a lot of guys would have folded, and they went out there and dominated overtime. So I I it was tough to make heads or tails of that. But talk about what's next for do. We know we know the record. We know what they have. And what they've done. How do you see this matchup in terms of of just the edges, and and and and ultimately how it comes out? I think it's a really fun game Paul because I think both of these teams Tennessee Purdue have both proved the season that they can win in different ways. You've seen them win in the fifties..

"Wait has one he has built up enough clout in in this entire situation as says it is to where they're at least going to wait until they hear what he has to say. Or until further evidence comes forward. Again, my opinion on it is the day. They suspended him. They created an awful mess for themselves because they should have made a decision than either would Arizona did survive with their guy or for fired him, but existing in this limbo has created so much uncertainty and more conversation and ambiguity. So I'm I'm with you on that. But it it's clear that the administration doesn't wanna fire because if they wanted to they would have done it already. It's hard to believe though. Matt that the improv conversations with university of tourneys, and maybe attorneys for will way, they can't get some sort of proffer or some sort of an idea what he is going to tell that federal court in April. I wish I had an answer for you, Paul. But we'll wait isn't talking anybody. And I I part of me understands that under the advice of counsel when you're talking about a federal investigation. Some of that you're talking about for some of these coaches involved jail time some of that supersedes employment, which I guess part of me can can understand. But it's as hard as that is to believe Paul wills not talking anybody. He's he's not talking to media. He's not talking to administrators short of the statement. He released after his suspension. He's gone completely dark like nobody. Even sees them around town. He's he's kind of vanished amid this entire thing. And I think both sides are willing to wait until April until until that trial comes and goes. Well, again, we're talking about LSU here. So that's not it shouldn't be too surprising. Matt. Given the record over the last half decade. I you and I've had many conversations along this line. Too many. But I know you have a show to get to let you do it. But thanks for coming on that as always okay, Paul mammoths going from Baton Rouge, never never del moment in B R. We'll take a break. More to come a five to four to seven to eight five a lot to do on a Tuesday afternoon..

"So I if if absolutely nothing else prevent for he's he's auditioning for other future head coaching job. That's can't see that ever being LSU, man. You you said if things go sideways with we'll wait how can they possibly go anymore sideways, and they already have maybe four words Joyce. So I think what's clear though, Paul is LSU's administration. Does not wanna fire will wait if they wanted to fire will Wade they already have caused just being on that phone call that wiretap that in and of itself if proven to be true would constitute at NCA violation that would be caused if LSU wanted to fire him insubordination for refusing to meet with his superiors that would be caused. But the reality is Paul will Wade is done magnificent job with. Program. There's a reason they hired delivered on that promise. He's delivered energy. They got a thirteen thousand seat venue full. They're making money people excited during the tournament. They're getting tournament shares revenue shares being determined. It's the program is doing exactly what it ministers had attended to do when they hired will wait, and they don't wanna fire him. Because if they did they would have already done it a mad, man. Listen. I understand that. But I mean, here's a guy. That's clearly I mean looks looks like a cheater he may not be. But it will certainly looks like one he's insubordinate. I mean, why in the world do they want to keep him considering the the photograph that's being transmitted to the rest of college basketball about him in that program that that's something you'd have to to ask me ministrations. It'd be be more than happy if they would appear here. But I don't think they're going to know what you mean. I'm not absolving. We'll wait order be very clear. I'm not the guy that's gonna come on this show or my show any say that. We'll wait did nothing wrong. I'm also not going to say everybody else's cheating. So that should absolve. We'll wait. That's not my stance. My stance is it's clear by their actions that the administration doesn't wanna fire. We'll wait because they get he'd already be fired. So they're giving him every chance would they're going to wait for is in April. And that's trial happens in New York. They're gonna see if we'll wait testify under oath. If he says anything that potentially would cast any any further evidence on this until he speaks. They're not gonna move ultimately, Paul. We've also seen instances in the past where optics for terrible the optics around Cam Newton terribly optics around Johnny Mandel with the autograph thing were terrible. And the Dow fix around Bruce Pearl and in his program right now or Shawn Miller with one hundred thousand dollars payment de'andre eight and the opposite doubtless look at sometimes coaches survive. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. And and my feeling is I wish LSU would decide. Now either fire him or for let him coach. That's not where they stand. Clearly. But it's it's obvious. They will wait to be there coaching. They're willing to ride this wave out until they see whatever evidence comes forward. Can you go a little deeper on that? Because I do not understand why they want him to stay. And in spite of everything you've already laid out. You know, who in this administration wants him to stay in. Why? Well, Joe Leyva hired him. I certainly think Joe's already had two failed head coaches with trend Johnson, Johnny Jones. He's a guy that very clearly in the crosshairs of many, not just fans, Paul. But I mean, there've been many outspoken board members in boosters that that that wanna change at the top not only at the at the athletic department level, but at the university level as well. But I think it's clear Joe Leyva wants to keep wants to keep we'll wait in place in the lie is obviously hired him in any winning. Yeah. I mean, he also has an obligation to follow the NCWA rules. And and and has to be would think concerned about the integrity of the diversity other than zone self interest? I don't think there's any question. And I think that that runs up the entire flack full Paul beyond just you'll alita but also university president king Alexander and get a president of LSU's board of supervisors, but I think should be because we'll..

"Minor problems increasing the clock speed all of these things help so architectural changes to the design of the chip and how it's logic works these help performance and can potentially help efficiency but the kind of freebie that for decades now we've pretty much taken for granted is shrinking the manufacturing process so the size of the transistor's with a koppel of notable exceptions this inherently makes the chips more power efficient and smaller allowing you to increase the complexity i mean that's why cpu today can have inexcessive like twenty megabytes of cash whereas back when i was getting into this stuff i mean having two hundred and fifty six kilobytes are five hundred twelve kilobytes was considered did he just take jerky no he didn't okay never mind having two hundred and fifty six kilobytes or five hundred twelve kilobytes was considered pretty darn good so amd by manufacturing on a smaller process inherently has an advantage in terms of power consumption and chip complexity that intel has just taken for granted for the last twenty years pretty much it's given them their huge advantage that's incredible so i mean there's a couple other just sort of housekeeping items here they're shipping cannon leak in low volume haven't pointed to specific customers or products and basically they're multi patterning processes generating too many yield reducing defects to produce ten nanometer cost effectively so that's another thing that the lay person would not necessarily be aware of when you're manufacturing it's not just about can you make a cpu intel could probably make a cpu at ten nanometer or even a node or even two nodes below if all they had to make one cpu and it could cost them six million dollars to produce or whatever the case may be.
