"5 50 KF way at the top of the hour for your chance to win $1000. That would be so lovely right now, wouldn't it? Tell you what. President. Trump is out in front. Now on cove. It As you just heard from a Hogan Gidley, who was with the Trump reelection campaign. He's now experience with the thousands with millions of of America's have experienced. He's gone through the goal that process. And he's saying Don't be afraid of it. Don't let it don't let her ruin your life. Don't let her rule over your life and the left is going absolutely apoplectic over it. It's Tze amazing. It's his leadership turned on his head. They're saying that we should live in fear. This fear should dictate how we live our lives. We have somebody who was successfully navigated through it. He hasn't let a limit his life. He's been out He's been following protocol to where he thinks using his own common sense. And he's telling us one thing in the media, saying another. Well for years. You've had Republicans out there saying you know what? The mail in ballot they We need to be careful with this because male and balance is is ah is fraught. With danger. Any time your eyes were not on the ballot, that's when problems can occur. Well, this election cycle, The left has been going completely out of their way. To assure you that there is no problem with the mill imbalance and they go so far as to say that if you have a problem with that, you know you're just fearmongering. Here's Barack Obama people. Should not listen to folks who are suggesting that somehow, if you vote by mail, it's not going to be counted or Then you know, Somehow there's going to be a whole bunch of front. There's a bunch of efforts to confuse and discourage. But even in 2016, there was some sin shenanigans going on to the extent that had an impact most of it had to do with people not voting because they got wrong information. If you get the right information. You cast your ballot Your balance camp. Do you forget all the shenanigans? You know, Don't listen to people who are out there. You know a fearmongering about the mail in ballot. He could have been talking about covert. That would have been, you know, that would have been more accurate. Fearmongering about the mail in ballot, you know, back in 2016. There were some shenanigans, but that was mostly because people were afraid they were scared away from the polls. Funny because back in 2008. When we get in the way back machine, Barack Obama was saying something a little different. They're talking about mailing it. People mailing in their balance. Do you trust the security? The honesty of such an election process? Well, I think we have to figure out whether this was fraud. Proof. I'm in Oregon, for example, has a terrific male in system. But they've already scanned everybody's signatures who's registered to vote so that they can check to make sure that in fact, the right people are voting on. That's something that I think you'd have to figure out. But our general view has been that we just played by the rules to rep. You know, we were told that Michigan and Florida one count On. So we said we wouldn't campaign there, Senator Clinton said the same thing that they wouldn't count. Now her campaign is suggesting that they should. What we want to do is to make sure that the Florida and the Michigan folks are seated. But to do so in an equitable way. And whatever system that the Democratic National Committee comes up with that is fair and equitable, but also make sure that the votes of people in Michigan and Florida are dealt with. We're going to be open to that. We want to make sure that they're seated as well. Yes either used there was concerned. They had questions about the mail and ballot. And I think That those questions are still legitimate. Look we're talking about not just is a being the most important election ever, I've often said, and I've said just a few weeks ago. That is not just this election is also the future. Elections. If we adopt the system. That is ripe for you know for for fraud and abuse. We're opening ourselves that we're opening up our republic to having a lot of problems going down the road. It may be too late. To change things now, but I do believe that we need to be is present as possible. During this election, and most importantly, I think that we need to show up on election Day. That's how you can be absolutely confident. Your vote is going to have the best chance of being accounted if you show up on Election Day. And cast your ballot. President Obama. Here's something I think I kind of agree with here. He's saying that White is important for everybody to get out and vote this year. Bomb line is Every issue you care about is impacted by this election and You have the opportunity to exercise your power. Ultimately, our power is derivative of you. When I was president, United States, I could get a lot done. But I was only able to get as much done as I had in Congress and the Senate that was supporting what I was doing and had active informed citizens who were ableto continue to push their representatives to support what we're proposing. Yeah, and in the beginning President Obama had the House and the Senate. Then he slowly lost them. But because he was governing in a way that the we the people did not like As a matter of fact, the the last vestiges of Obama care the tattered Obama care may and may bite the dust in just a few weeks. But he's right. Every issue you care about right now Taxes The economy, border security.

Because you're media people, and you just can't get enough with these phony efforts to tar Trump with the racist label despite no evidence any of it's true like the collusion hopes. But why aren't people use wazoo time Wazoo? Let's take that white supremacist question. This is by the way. A wink and a nod to conservative media. We really should be asking that question of Joe Biden. Joe Biden has a really big problem with white supremacist. My gosh, You can't say that. I don't have to say it is true. Joe Biden has spoke highly of exalted Cyclops man in the K. K K. I don't even know that was a thing. What Hogan Gidley. One of President Trump's excellent communication folks one on CNN yesterday and finally started taking these people to the woods. You know, CNN, part of the Biden campaign. And John Berman, who's absolutely hapless pretends to be a news guy, But I can't even get out of his own way. Hogan, Gidley finally started taking this question to them. We're not going to answer the white supremacist question anymore. It's obvious they're morons. Everybody hates them. Trump has refuted them. 1000 times. Six different ways from Sunday. You're only asking it to create a fake controversy about a question you already know the answer to let's start asking the question or Joe Biden Watch. This is this is just This is fantastic. Hogan Gidley, CNN yesterday. Do you have any idea John? What an exalted Cyclops of the cake is because Joe Biden sure does. He spoke in a funeral for one and praised him profusely. Any idea who George Wallace is? Joe Biden? Sure. Does he thank the person who was in the award. Any idea what a racial jungle is? So listen, Joe Biden want his kids to grow up in a job? Biden's record on race is absolutely discovering job final job. By opening up his problem. Africa right his record on local television, John, You know, one thing has a record of respect. So you will allow me to give an answer, the president and someone from your network said yesterday in a tweet the President Todd to question about white supremacy that was a tweet from a CNN reporter. The president specifically verbatim was asked yesterday white supremacy. Do you denounce them? To which he responded? I have always denounced any form of that. Those are the fax and CNN. I know that truth is of no moment to your network. But those are the facts. So like the slug line here, Kaylie Barry, CNN reporter When she wanted her reported and get buried, the reporter thes people are incapable of thinking that got buried. The reporter no doubt thinks that she won the confrontation simply by raising the question again. The White House is out there, saying Trump has denounced white Supreme they must have sent in a zillion times. And yet the press keeps asking. Will the press president denounced white supremacy? Why won't he denounced white supremacy and why? We'll need that directly denounced white supreme and they're out there reporting that he hasn't any won't Hogan. Gidley is the press secretary of the campaign. And he was on CNN yesterday with the co host John Berman. And Berman said the Hogan Gidley Again. He is the communications director for the Trump 2020 campaign. So, so he kept on saying he would condemn white supremacy and then given the opportunity to do it, he didn't do it. Now. See, this is exactly what they're playing. He's done it. I don't know how many times because he won't say the words white supremacy Everytime it announces that it's like he's not announcing it in there. Sorted, perverted sick. View of things. So here's how Hogan Gidley dealt with him, he said. Sure, three times he has done it in the past multiple times. I don't know how many ways you want him to say it and how many times you want him to say it? Do you have any idea John? What an exalted Cyclops of the cake is because Joe Biden sure does. He spoke at a funeral for one and praised him profusely. Any idea who George Wallace is Joe Biden? Sure. Does he thank the person who was in the award. That was Hogan Gidley, and there's simply not taken this garbage. Bible did go two shits Birds funeral, Biden has spoken favorably. Remember that he almost didn't get the Democratic nomination. His own vice presidential running mate has called him a racist. Kamala Harris called him a racist. Um, denounced them is one of the last flailing attempts she was making to save her own campaign. What to expect from the first Biden-Trump debate
"Between President Trump and his Democratic challenger, former vice president Joe Biden. Yesterday. We look back at how Biden has approached his many debates over the years. And today we examine Donald Trump's particular style on the debate stage. NPR White House correspondent Tamara Keith reports. When it comes to President Trump's preparation for debating Joe Biden. The message being telegraphed is that he isn't trying too hard. Here's Trump campaign spokesman Hogan Gidley on Fox News. I'm not going to get into the specifics of how this president prepares for these debates. But he's pressure tested every single day by the American people when they ask questions about the mainstream media. So press briefings are debate Prep, Trump's campaign manager told reporters trumps best preparation is really just being president. That was Trump's argument when he dialed into Fox and friends. How are you preparing for this debate? By working very hard. You know what? By working very hard, not own debates. But on running the country with Trump. It's hard to tell whether this is an effort to lower expectations or whether he really isn't doing anything special to prepare for the debates in 2016 Trump prepared, But his most memorable moments came in this seemingly unwra first interruptions from everything I see has no respect. For this person? Well, that's because he'd rather have a puppet as president and opens today, and it's pretty clear it's pretty clear that year, Trump had a few themes. Hillary Clinton's emails, immigration, trade and the economy. He came back to them on repeat, no matter the questions. He had scrappy comebacks and a total disregard for debate rules or being presidential. Which gave him a certain freedom. It's just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country because you'd be in jail. Secretary Clinton Thistle makes President Trump Hard to debate says Sleep Rinus who stood in for Trump during Hillary Clinton's debate preparation sessions four years ago. It's like trying to perform a piano. Solo. When the other guys got a grog grog ER is a Yiddish term for a noisemaker and just spinning it the whole time, Rinus says. It's not that Trump was a great debater in any traditional sense, but he was fun to watch and really hard to pin down. Now, though, Trump is president. There's a pandemic and a recession, Rinus says. Watching Trump respond to questions about Cove it you can see he's not the same guy he was four years ago, Donald Trump is facing a different circumstance. He's facing different consequences than he ever has in this life. And if sparring with the media really is Trump's debate Prep, then his July interview with tonight's debate, moderator Chris Wallace might offer a hint and where Trump could trip up. When you talk about mortality rate, I think it's the opposite. I think we have one of the lowest mortality rate way had 900. Deaths in a single day. We will take this week ready. You get me the mortality rate. Trump also faces a different opponent than he did in 2016. For months. Trump has been portraying Biden is not having all his faculties. But now Trump and his aides are suddenly talking up Biden's debate skills. We have a debate coming up, and who knows, you know he's been doing You know what he's been doing it for 47 years. I've been doing it for 3.5 years so he should be able to beat me. I would like as you can hear. Trump loves a crowd, But tonight the hall will be largely empty due to Cove it another new factor. Trump will have to deal with Tamara Keith NPR news. news.

Well, I'm calling because in Texas Particularly our area being reported as having so many jumping probate cases. The cases are going up, but if you go to the metrics of the public health website We have about 9000 cases confirmed covert hospitalization, though, are less than 300 most of our ventilators are available, so these statewide numbers For our area. Just forward Ford words. We have 9000 cases of Fort Worth and 300 people hospitalized. Yep. But nobody ever talks about that. Well, no, they never have either. The hospitalization percentage or number has never been discussed. Because the objective in all of this they want the vast number of cases because they've trying to make everybody believe they're not saying this. A very fine line. They're trying Tio suddenly persuade people that every case equals of death. They want people to believe that the majority of people getting infected end of dying and therefore they do not use and they They have not focused since the beginning of this on hospitalizations. I was keeping track of hospitalizations in in the county. We live here and they were were never threatened with over hospitals were never no matter what the case numbers were. There's always been room for hospitalizations in the ventilator problem got fixed. Some of the other peopie stuff. All my friends who are also moms have been coming to me and I've been telling them what you say. Turn off the news and listen to what you can and I said, look at death. Look at them. We'll know either one another thing. The recovery rate. Hasn't really changed much. 98 a half percent 98 a half percent of people and get Kuroda virus do not succumb to it. He's done it for the last three years. He'll do it for the next next couple, and all the way through the next term I agree with you. One hundred ten percents. People have to be protected. There's another situation going on. You have innocent protesters, peaceful people, but there are criminals and there are hiding in between. Now is the federal government is the FBI doing an investigation? WHO's paying off? Some of these people that are creating the education I'll look at the president's looking at all these types of things you're hearing. Stories across this country of the very instances. A means to instigate violence an instigate civil unrest. Those have to be held accountable as well one of the things we noticed in the Lafayette Park, incidents for example where the rioters and looters set fire to it basically was that Park police and others pointed out that they had gotten intelligence that there were pipes, and a sharp objects stashed around town with which to attack police officers in our national guard They discovered you know drops of water where they would where they would put pallets of water in certain areas to. Good morning doing really well. Thanks so much for having me on. Now the the president signed an executive order bothering police reform this week. It seems like the policemen or revoking about what's going on some of our cities and states. I didn't think that should be handled. Well, I think the president doing a great job kind of talking about both sides here because he was asked recently, how do you? How do you balance law and order with compassion? And he said you gotta? Do both and you know this whole notion that somehow compassionate to allow police officers to not do their jobs and leave innocent Americans to defend their own businesses fend for themselves. Is is lunacy. I mean it is compassionate to make sure that we protect those who can't protect themselves. And so when police officers across this country for many mayors and governors have been told not to engage with looters and rioters. You see what happens. You don't have to guess what would happen if this defunding police movement actually took hold. This president wants to defend the police instead because they put their lives online every day protecting us, so you don't have to guess 'cause. I mentioned I if they went away tomorrow. What would happen because you saw it? Across? The cities in this country where where storefronts or smashed in and and merchandise. Stolen cars were burnt out. They set fire to churches. They burned down. Historic Pieces here in Washington DC in Lafayette, Park across from the White House, they would drag you know innocent people out into the streets and just beat them senseless. Lying in a pool of their own blood left to fend for themselves. That's not compassionate, so the president sent a really good job, not only defending the police and the job they have to do now. Listen. We all saw the video of George Floyd. I mean it's unacceptable. th that was so agreed in so many ways, and it makes your heart go out to the family. And, the president said listen the overwhelming majority of our law. Enforcement across this country are are great people. They're. "US I just got the following statement from Hogan Gidley the White House communications office Hogan is I love Hogan Gidley is great guy with a gun on the night of the state of the union when we went to the White House first before heading over to the capital for the state of the union it was Hogan who Madison escorted us into the in the library and then we went to photo shot the photo shoot with Mrs Mrs trump with it up to the residence before we went over and Hogan is actually is on fox now and then he's a great defender of the administration as his job is but he's so smart anyway just got the following statement from him president trump is not firing Dr Fauci the media is all over this today because trump re tweeted something that had a fire doctor found G. hash tag and like save our girls the reserve there was it what do you mean you don't believe this what do you want to stay from home get the president's tweet clearly exposed media attempts to maliciously push a false him a falsehood about his China decision in an attempt to rewrite history it was Democrats and the media who ignored coronavirus choosing to focus on impeachment instead and when they finally did comment on the virus it was to attack president trump for taking the bold action to save American lives cutting off travel from China and from your doctor found she has been and remains a trusted adviser to the president is not being fired anyway use me trump did re tweet something it had a fire doctor found G. hash tag in it and everybody says that we were all hopeful don't say that M. zero one a lot of people saying why did the president do did when I get a good president he gets free state thank yeah when you get pregnant after four after four years it is it's still not clear why the president does things this is still not clear why the president uses Twitter there are people still can feel was that if the president only way at his disposal other than briefings and rallies to respond to what he thinks are lies and and fake nose I I want to go back to this Dorame from the watching Sam because I have a companion story that goes with it I mean the two people that did the stories didn't realize they were companion stories but and wouldn't you know what I didn't print the second page so I can't tell you who okay is able to find something real quick here folks my computer will enable this I just have to go back to last night I got to find a family use this I gotta tell you who the hell wrote it this initially were image Hey getting close to getting close there we go all right it's PJ media sera point so here's here's the first piece the model top coronavirus forecaster warns of rebound if country re opens may first this is the guy who's never been right none of them have I'm not with this guy's model is used more than anybody else's this is Chris Murray university of Washington institute for health metrics and evaluation is model is never been right his range of death now at the top of sixty one thousand at the low in twenty six thousand and I don't care what anybody says every one of these models has factored in the social distancing from the beginning they didn't add it later they added that after the first projection of two point two million then they added social distancing they're trying to get away with saying that they've been wrong because they don't they weren't factoring social distancing they were they have been from the from the get go and that matters they have been wrong even with that modifier so it and by the way it may sound mean to you I'm not trying to be mean I'm just telling you these people haven't been right they haven't been right about anything yet what the climate change models have not been right about anything yet top coronavirus forecaster who has yet to be right is warning of a rebound if the country re opens may first the model overseen by Chris Murray was used by the White House to predicted the end of March between a hundred thousand two hundred and forty thousand deaths in the U. S. from the virus with mitigation and then they revised it they used a hundred thousand two hundred forty thousand tell us last week was going to be the apocalypse for the peak and it wasn't that bad they haven't they haven't been close to being right yet and yet that all still have credibility it's a modern tech Marvel they still have credibility and they have you have to be right you know what I want to live I once while ago suggested bring these modelers to the briefing and let us see the data that they're using let us see what they're importing let us see the charts well let's see how they were arriving at these numbers were smart enough to follow along I'd like to know the assumptions there are being used to create the models I don't care about their opinions on policy I don't care whether Chris Murray thanks that we can't reopen may first because there might be a rebound his models haven't been right so how does he know this right again folks I'm not trying to sell me an error and disrespectful to these people everybody's trying their best here but trying your best like Churchill said doesn't matter you have to do what's necessary and we're relying on people haven't been right and now we're turning to them for policy questions after they haven't been right in their area of expertise I don't really care about Mr Murray's opinion on matters of policy when we re open or not because of a rebound their job is to make accurate pro ject should lose predictions are when they don't pan out they should tell us where the errors were or are and that should be the end of it now here's the companion storing it calms from Sarah Hart it's really a great point to comes from Sarah Hoyt at PJ media and the title of a piece is modeling covert nineteen and the lives of multi culturalism her point is that these models are treating every human being is identical every human being is the same we're not factoring culture into these models the models are not factoring culture because they can't the models have to assume that everybody is going to be Hey if identically that's a scary thought because that is a model for socialism and communism governments that with the use of force they can require everybody to behave identically and if you don't then you go to re education camp or something worse and that is not a scare tactic and that is not an exaggeration remember the Chinese Olympics from some years ago Mr certainly opening ceremony and everybody was marveling at the beauty and the synchronization and how marvelously it all came off and I told everybody it scared me because not one of those people looked any different than anybody else every Chinese person and that opening ceremony dressed identically made up identically Kerr was I don't it was scary we were looking at mass sameness and that's how the synchronization was achieved course students practicing and massive penalties of people screwed up during practice somebody give you a couple of poor quality the imperial college of London model that terrified our largely scientifically ill literate politicos and therefore killed the world economy like every other Marvel tries to model human behavior assumed aspherical howl of uniform density in a frictionless vacuum meaning nobody would push back nobody would object everybody would follow instructor but he would do exactly the same and that never happens we are not the same we are not equal we never will be equal there is no sameness there was only forced famous which is very punitive the imperial college of London model you have to be right terrified are largely scientifically illiterate politicians meaning here came the predictions two point two million and two hundred and forty thousand I got scared to death and implemented immediate policy he leaves well even questioning it they killed it it took three wickets your soul scary it took weeks weeks to destroy three years of a roaring economy does that's not scared the heck over you three weeks of a stand down order unfortunately we have willfully up another pull quote from steroids piece unfortunately we have willfully and on purpose over the course of the last fifty years blinded ourselves to one of the most important factors when modeling disease in human populations and that is culture we've told our kids in school that culture is food and clothing white Nikes you're culturally hip if you have the right shoes culturally hip if you eat the right stuff culturally hip if you go to the right places sometimes language can be cultural not always but the culture is inherently the same underneath those trappings that's what's assumed by those models and is enough of a lie to be a damned lie now this is a tough case to make well I am in cell height does a great job in this piece very long piece we will link to it Rush Limbaugh dot com was published yesterday but I want I want to try here because what our point is that we get these models projecting how many people are going to get secondly people gonna die assuming everybody's identical everybody's the same he got to behave the same however culture is the most important or should be the most important in modeling the spread of any diseases in human population next an almost equal the culture should be the physical home of that culture like where do people live how dance is the population there how much air debate share the models for how bad covert nineteen would be and the measures for mitigating it's brand new without exception ignore these factors we assume everybody must live in New York everybody must levy dense populated by the most in other words there's no state of Washington model for Texas well there there there might be but it it it doesn't get yours then it's overshadowed over used by the nationwide model as she makes it clear I don't think she writes a covert nineteen is a hoax.
White House unveils $2.5B emergency coronavirus plan

Trump Continues Post-Impeachment Purge
"Of the post impeachment purge continued today with the ouster of the Pentagon's top policy official John rude he was involved in the release of military aid to Ukraine which became the focus of that impeachment CBS's we Jack he wrote a letter to the president and made it very clear that it was president trump who asked him to leave and that's why he was submitting his resignation at the president's request earlier today Hogan Gidley said that the decision was made by the department of defense and so there's some discrepancy there Democrats say is starting to look like the president has a vendetta against a series of official surrounding his impeachment

Dems' challenge: Making impeachment case with evidence recap
"Four eight hours yesterday Adam Schiff and other house impeachment managers hammered home what they say was president trump's wrongdoing this game was undertaken for a simple but corrupt reason to help him win reelection in twenty twenty with more than a dozen hours still did calm ship knows the challenges to appeal not just to GOP senators but the public the evidence may become less compelling when presented again and again as an encouraging voice told me keep it up but don't keep it up too long here at the White House spokesman Hogan Gidley say shift can keep it up all he wants the president will be just fine the evidence and the facts prove he's done nothing wrong at the trump legal team is looking forward to making its case likely starting Saturday Sager make Donnie at the White House
Trump impeachment trial: Democrats lay out their case
"Back day one of opening arguments in president trump's impeachment trial Democrats beginning to lay out their case and they're by no means done yet they have two more days of time left to continue learning that out Adam ship today other than voting on whether to send our men and women to war this is there is I think no greater responsibility before you then the one before you now deal for you taken to impartially weigh the facts and evidence requires serious and objective consideration decisions that are about country not party about the constitution not politics about what is right and what is wrong Democrats have been showing exhibits all day today video clips of president trump talking in testimony from the house hearings and remember the Republicans having gone yeah that's why we're not hearing from them ABC's Trish Turner has been doing incredible work awake around the clock at the capitol never sleeping she's here now and Trish what's it been like in there today these have been long hours for the senators without much to do except sit and listen Hey Alex yes it's quite as logs so you know this is this is a this is a difficult task the senators have and you know there were some fireworks last night it set off a bad tone and and so you know everybody seems like they came in with their hair sort of bristled and but they've settled into a rhythm I'm a yes it's difficult weighty stuff many senators are taking notes some in fact there is a striking number who are actually up and pacing around the back of the chamber and which is good sort of an unusual sight there in and out of cloakrooms eating you know trying to stay awake this is difficult stuff like a mini you're taking notes there are several though I would say today we're beginning to see Republicans trump allies really who were digging and they're not taking notes I'm several hold a press conference conference before the trial even started and said they were looking toward vindication on he would be a that trump would be acquitted so you know there some are taking sides but by and large people are pretty serious you can hear a pin drop I'm in the chamber you know and as aside from if you were doing crossword puzzles I'm in other word games you know it seems like most people are really paying attention you know all of the arguments that you've heard today any big headline anything that we have not known up before now there isn't really any new news here at that we're hearing yet so but you know that the Democrats really seem to be trying to keep it simple and the house managers I should say I'm you know the simple theme that president trump cheated and he is going to do it again so they're trying to sort of bring this actor of you know this imminent danger to our electoral system to our democracy and that it's time to impeach him it's hard to remove them I should say from office and you know but it some we've even had some Democrats say that you know they're still waiting for more evidence are waiting for more you know concrete facts from the managers but it but again I think it just goes back to that slide right there the managers are trying methodically to lay out the way they are you know are alleging that president trump has really cheated the system and so you know that takes time and and we've got a lot of it you have a take us behind the scenes clearly the Democrats and I assume the Republicans will be the same thing when they go but the Democrats eight they've got this polished presentation these slides have been made the looks like some graphic designer put them together they've got their their processor speeches all lined up knowing exactly where they're going this is gonna be a big operation it's a tremendous operation you know it takes a village right I it's a the house managers have a massive staff they have done a lot of planning they have been on the floor you know on the Senate floor in prep sessions Dave I'm even you know they all practice taking to the lectern overnight before the trial began you know clearly they have the audio visual I'm operation up and running because I think many of us cringe when you I it seems like every time you try to employ a television on in in a situation like this it always goes awry but none of those it's been pretty seamless they worked really hard on this they have a lot of staff who are behind the scenes both teams the trump lawyers and the house managers just off the floor they have big operations for the Democrats we caught a glimpse it's a room that's maybe I would say about twenty feet to thirty feet from the chamber and they they have it's full of computers full of staff in and now there's lots of buzz we can't get near that room I very often but when we do it to be hi that activity the trump team has work space that's normally the vice president's space because of course he is the highest ranking officer in the Senate he's the presiding officer normally so he has a work space here so perhaps a little bit of an advantage but I'm you know so the that the trump team has a full complement of people even saw the White House press secretary deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley up here he's also helping out the trump legal team so it it's quite an operation and you know we they're working hard to come out and try to tell reporters but you know generally the press it there are a lot of constraints on on where we can go it's not normally that way up here so you know it's it's we're all trying to fit into this odd into this odd story together this odd read them it it's such an unusual blanket of of of of a story that sort of come around the capital and changed our lives quite dramatically ABC's Trish Turner who is not going to sleep now for weeks
Hogan Gidley: resolution to limit power "misguided" and "ridiculous"
"House spokesman Hogan Gidley calls it ridiculous his word the one in the house vote invoking a non binding war powers act measure that president trump first seek congressional approval before any further military action against Iran the president was pressed to explain his rationale for ordering the missile strike that killed Iran's top general we did it because they were looking to blow up our embassy that would be the nearly billion dollar embassy compound in Baghdad but members of Congress who were briefed on the intelligence Wednesday said there was no mention of any plan to blow up the embassy

Pelosi Expects Public Impeachment Hearings to Begin This Month
"Morning the house has formally approved an impeachment inquiry focused on president trump it was very nearly a party line vote it establishes a process to make the inquiry more public people investigators have interviewed in private may be interviewed again at hearings seen on TV the White House we should recall has not disputed the facts found in testimony and documents for the most part president trump did ask you cranes president to investigate Democrats including his political rival Joe Biden the president instead argues that his conduct was quote perfect and that the investigation is unfair Hogan Gidley as Deputy Assistant to the president in the White House principal deputies press secretary he's on the phone good morning Sir good morning does the house vote in the process it's now been set up for public hearings make this process any more fair well two things first let me start off with the premise out right which is completely incorrect the president was talking to president elect give out corruption it is not the link you ran on and one on looting out corruption in Ukraine is a worldwide fact everyone knows that Ukraine was a corrupt country that's why the Lynskey was able to win so easily the present was simply talking to him about the corruption use of the term I wanna make sure justice Mr Gidley I want to make sure we're clear on this you said the premise was incorrect I've just been reading again the transcript of the caller not a transcript the record of the call the president asks about a couple of specific things one is a conspiracy theory involving crowd size crowd striking the Democratic National Committee server the other involves Joe Biden and a son hunter Biden does the only things the president asked about of all the possible corruption the only things the president asked about do you disagree that the president last you lance president on down let's talk about where his political rivals for twenty twenty everyone in the world and forgive me but I'm old enough to remember when Democrats actually cared about what happened the twenty sixteen election nobody was talking about and quite frankly this is what the president ran on in one on one and that is making sure that the money we give these countries these hundreds of millions of dollars are actually spent wisely now I understand Democrats don't care about how we spend taxpayer dollars at home much left abroad but this president does let me just to the impeachment vote I think we should move there well let me bald head straight way to Hogan we've got a we've got a corrected fact here you said the president did not ask about a twenty twenty rival the record of the call the White House record the call the record you released says that president trump asked about Joe Biden so that is totally false what you just said why do you say that falls thing in relation to the twenty sixteen corruption he wasn't talking about twenty twenty and you and your listeners know that what I was biting involved with the crowd strike thing exactly if you're talking about the twenty sixteen election and you're talking about the corruption is it related to Ukraine you talk about the person who dealt with Ukraine that was killed by I'm sorry but running for president doesn't insulate you from any criticism or any investigations widely true let's go on to your question about the process now because you want to make a point about the process and whether it's more fair right it's not what the Democrats here have done is his right sham impeachment process all behind closed doors without any sunlight whatsoever selectively leaking pieces of information without full testimony to try in building narrative moving into the second round the vote yesterday except say we're gonna make portions of the next part public after we've already tried to tie dye your hands down your feet blindfold you put in a closet and beat you senseless they were just got take the blindfold off around two round three is organised taken from the Judiciary Committee and we expect though that you're gonna be blade up enough where it won't matter the problem is too they're fighting against the Donald Trump is gonna stand up around three fight back yeah it's interesting I think Democrats would characterize it differently but there is an element of truth in what you said that they would have to admit which is that they've just taken a bunch of testimony in these private hearings and they're going to call those witnesses back in public and expect them to stand behind those stories which we which we largely now is that going to make it challenging to defend the president in public right and face cross examination so so do you do you do you think that there's going to be difficulty defending that case given that so much of it is already on the record no because you're only hearing you know selective pieces of one portion and then also yesterday for example I don't think you're doing a private is beginning to backfire their reports Mister Morrison testimony was that he felt the present had done nothing wrong nothing illegal so they're all types of things coming out of these hearings and and you're kind of making not white which is it be really nice for the American people to get to see this out in the open and in public if you get a parking ticket your forty due process you can confront the policeman who gave it to you you can talk to the judge about it you can submit evidence you can ask questions although although as you know the police might investigate that and private first then you get a trial which could be coming who knows how can get les thanks so much really appreciate it thanks for the time he's Deputy Assistant to the president and NPR White House reporter Asia Roscoe as been listening and what struck you there well I I think we we got a a a glimpse of what the White House strategy is on this this idea that everything goes back to twenty sixteen and he did not specifically say president trump on that call with the Ukrainian president say I want you to investigate my twenty twenty rival I'm it himself and then it's a twenty twenty rival that saw them but he didn't say I want you to do this for twenty twenty and that's kind of what White House adviser kellyanne Conway was saying yesterday he did not specifically say it I am but I I think what Democrats and what others are saying is that just the very fact that he was asking for this investigation and at the same time holding up aid that that looks like pressure to them and we should remember that even though this Tim Morrison of that national security council did say yesterday or we know in his opening statement that he didn't think anything illegal happens there are other officials who say that they were very concerned by that call and peers Asia Roscoe thanks so much thank
Bill Taylor testifies on Ukraine aid delay and Republicans react
"A career diplomat testified into the evening to three house committees considering impeachment White House correspondent Bob Constantini has details still Taylor of the highest ranking US diplomat in Ukraine now delivered a fifteen page opening statement indeed he talked of an official diplomatic channel and it unofficial one featuring Rudy guiliani Taylor described in detail how he eventually came to realize military aid being held up by the trump administration was ordered stopped by president trump one down the chain via chief of staff Mick Mulvaney in his statement Taylor talks of how he learned that everything meaning the military assistance and the desired meeting at the White House by Ukraine's president was contingent envelope Amir's Lynskey making a public statement that Ukraine was going to investigate a conspiracy theory involving the Democratic Party and former vice president Joe Biden and his son hunter as Taylor was quoted in text messages released last month misstatement reiterates he thought it was quote crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign one phrase used to describe what Taylor is alleging is that president trump wanted someone ski to clear things up Democrats leading the hearing think one thing is clear there was a quid pro quo Eric Swalwell is a member of the intelligence committee if I hear any drop literally as the ambassador laid out his opening statement taking to Twitter president trump delivers a distraction the president seems resigned to being impeached based on comments and this tweet he hopes Democrats will take as a warning so some day if a Democrat becomes president and the Republicans in the house even by a tiny margin they can impeach the president without due process or fairness or any legal rights all Republicans must remember what they are witnessing here a lynching reaction was swift especially from black democratic house members including James Clyburn of South Carolina Andrew Johnson never describe what was happening to him this way and Sir Bill Clinton didn't know that Nixon this president is hopefully an anomaly Republicans generally say they wouldn't have used the word lynching history in our country I would not compare this to ensuring that was unfortunate choice of words that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell though South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham agrees with Mr trump's analogy when this about trump cares about process long as you get it yeah this is a lynching and every census is on America the White House and deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley out to do damage control in a spirited give and take with reporters he has used many words to describe the way he's been relentlessly attacked and ninety three percent of the news coverage against him is negative

I want to renew your training. not very long I want to read you would treat me. that was signed between the United States in Ukraine regarding cooperation for prosecuting crimes from nineteen ninety nine. here is the treaty to the Senate of the United States with a view to receiving the advice and consent of the Senate to ratification I transmit here with. the treaty between the United States of America and Ukraine on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters with annex signed on kia over at Kiev on July twenty second nineteen ninety eight I transmit also for the information of the Senate and exchange of notes which was signed on September thirtieth nineteen ninety nine which provides for its provisional application as well as the report of the department of state with respect to the treaty the treaty is one of a series of modern mutual legal assistance treaties being negotiated by the US in order to counter criminal activities more effectively the treaty should be an effective tool to assist in the prosecution of a wide variety of crimes including drug trafficking offenses. the treaty is self executing it provides for a broad range of cooperation even criminal matters mutual assistance available under the treaty includes taking of testimony or statements of persons. providing documents records in articles of evidence serving documents locating or identifying persons transferring persons in custody for testimony or other purposes executing request for searches and seizures and assisting in proceedings related to restrain confiscation forfeiture of assets. route restitution collection of fine so I recommend that the Senate give early and favorable consideration to the treaty and give its advice and consent to ratification sign in the William J. Clinton. nineteen ninety nine. meaning that when trump asked. the president of Ukraine to help investigate the crimes that may have been committed by Joe Biden and his son Hungary was simply abiding by eight three D. that we have with Ukraine. promising such mutual cooperation. trump was not in violation of the law in fact trump was behaving according to the letter. of the law. amber how early this week I said that once I saw the transcript of the call we're trumpet mention crowd strike to the Ukrainian president I said I know what he's asking the president of Ukraine to help them get to the bottom of the investigation into him they're asking trump is asking for assistance looking at the crowd strike one involved that they have in Ukraine because the founder of crowds strike Hey. literally hates put me it would be it would be so classic for this guy a crowd strike to blame potent on the Russians for hacking the Democrat server simply because he hates the guy. Paul Hogan Gidley. who by the way. are you may have seen Hogan Gidley now and then on fox he is one of the ranking people in the communication shop the White House the guy is really good. and he's a he's a great guy I've met him a couple of times on trips to the White House and he's up his really. a stand up guy is brilliant as well anyway he came out. am to admit is that what this is. is this trump asking Ukraine to help expose the corruption that happened in two thousand sixteen by mentioning crosstrek Hogan Gidley not aware what I've said I'm certain. confirmed it he said of course the president talked about looking into corruption the twenty sixteen election. I'm old enough to remember when Democrats used to want to find out what happened in the twenty sixteen election sep Hogan Gidley that that is a great line. I'm old enough to remember when they wanted to find out what happened in twenty sixty. they know what happened their efforts to rig the election failed. and you know some folks there really is another of the many reasons why they are so gobsmacked. what they were doing it if it ultimately led to the attempt to rig the election the insurance policy of that struck strokes American Lisa page talked about. they were doing everything they could to make sure trump did not win and then if he did win and to be able to launch this plan to get rid of it they were trying to get a lecture to may have rigged Hillary's primary. one other thing before we got a sound bites I mentioned earlier this week that to me this whole thing look like the steel dossier version two point OO. and I over the program that I basically saying the same thing this is nothing more than a continuation of the same play the Democrats are running the same player if this were a football game they are running the same place they're running at two different sides of the line. from play to play to play it's the same play. Shawn Davis is written about it here at the federalists he is the co founder. here's headline the trump Ukraine whistle blower complaint looks just like the steel dossier to point out the reason I'm dwelling on this is to try to fortify you with confidence in the fact that none of this is real it is all as made up as trump Russia collusion was they do not have an impeachable offense like John Casey told them they do not have an impeachable offense and people across the country are not talking about it they have laid an egg with this. and it's important for you to understand that this is nothing more than a gigantic political strategy it is a silent we're in the midst folks of a cold civil war. us against the Washington establishment and its allies. the anonymous whistle blowers allegations of corruption involving trump and the Ukrainian president appeared to be a note for note reproduction. of the discredited dossier of two thousand sixteen. the template for a coordinated media and intelligence community attack against the president was first perfected the in the dossier. British expired Christopher steel compiled the bogus allegations at the behest of Hillary Clinton. do not forget the steel dossier was bought and paid for by Hillary Clinton she commissioned it as though it were a work of art and it was designed to be political opposition research to nail trump with it's not true there's not a shred there's not a word of truth in the steel dossier. steel made up bald bogus allegations at the behest of Democrats yes. that dossier formed the basis of the entire investigation a Mahler investigation FISA warrants to spy on trump. the planting of human informants the attempted plant again human informants in the trump campaign. and the special counsel investigation a fake phony not a word of it true. dot CA was the foundation for everything that is all they ever had there was no evidence the whistle blower and his documents are the steel dossier version two point all the liberals presented steel as an operative with impeccable credentials. get a deep network of Russian sources his reports we were told seven gold standard for intelligence so much so that the F. "As we continue with HOGAN Gidley is the principal deputy White House press secretary works with Sarah Sanders in the White House. Now, let me ask you a little bit more details about the president's plan on immigration, fewer green cards, given the people with relatives or in the US factors, like age, English language, proficiency employment offers also take into account the diversity visa lottery, which offers green cards to citizens of countries. With historically low rates of immigration to the US would be eliminated will strengthen our ports of entry will continue to build the wall and all the other technologies that are needed. A fund paid for with increased fees created a modernized ports of entry, and, you know, I it sounds reasonable and rightly so it doesn't address what to do about the millions of people here already. And I don't think that should be addressed until the wall is built in it secure. Sure. We'll look you know you, you when you spring, a leak, obviously, you wanna fix the league. You don't go shopping for a new sink. I mean, the fact is, we have a leak in this country is relates to illegal immigration coming across our borders in record numbers. You hit on it the plan, the president laid out is not only reasonable it's rational and actually addresses the problem in two fold one is border security the pieces, you mentioned on strengthening some of our infrastructure to scan one hundred percent of the vehicles that come across one hundred percent of the trade cargo thought we'd been doing that. We haven't building the wall, we'll have about four hundred plus miles built by the end of the year next year, but also the merit based system as you just said, we found out that people who come here who are young. Younger tend to assimilate data shows that they tend to actually contribute to the American economy and to the idea of what America actually is that's important. Also people who come here with, with degrees, people who come here with skills to work in our manufacturing sector. I mean, the president's bringing back these jobs, he keeps hearing from the owners of these companies, they need more workers. So we're talking about bringing people in like that. Not low wage workers low skill workers to depress wages, but higher wage individuals who have a skill that can contribute to this country. It seems rational. It seems reasonable. It's no wonder Democrats, don't like it, because it makes sense. Well, I think this is the thing you know, one of the big messages, I think, for the reelections Innova are you better off than you were four years ago. It's a pretty simple answer absolutely across. The board. Is is the groups. We just mentioned the demographics the answer's. Yes. And when eighty plus percent of this country receives tax. Cut and then the media comes out, and has to say you guys received a tax cut, and then they're shocked that the American people didn't realize they got tax cut. It's because they've been reporting a lie for the last two years, saying, you didn't get it, it only went to the rich, and we find out a majority of the country gets the tax cut. I mean this is the type of ninety three percent negative news coverage, this president has to endure that no other president in history has had to face, and he's winning every day, all day for all demographics and all the people in this country and Democrats just don't know what to do about it. Yeah. All right. Thank you so much HOGAN Gidley, as the principal deputy White House press secretary, thank you so much for being with us. I will take a quick break Friday, concert series, coming up next, and then right here phone calls as the.

"Phone line is eight hundred nine six nine ninety three fifty two we'll try to possibly squeeze in a few calls in a bit. We are awaiting deputy assistant to the president. And deputy press secretary HOGAN Gidley he should be calling us momentarily from the White House. We know he was with the president just a few moments ago. I'm sure they kind of have like a debrief, I'm assuming after the state of the union where the kind of go through the pluses and minuses of speech what they thought they got right? When maybe they thought they could have done a little bit better. Joining us now on the hotline, we have with us HOGAN Gidley HOGAN, how are you? I'm doing so. So well tonight. Thank you so much for having me on sorry. I'm a little bit late. But as as you guys are paying attention. We got quite a few things going on over here at the White House. I'm sure you do what was the president's mood after the speech did President Trump feel like, you know, he nailed it where you guys happy with the message that was delivered to congress in the American people. Well, I'll tell you anytime the president gets to deliver his message directly to the American people without the filter of cable news, pundits or beltway. Bureaucrats? He he's in a good place, and he got out of the limo and walked into the White House. And we were all there waiting for him. And we we gave him around of applause, and he did ask how he thought how I thought it went. And look I thought it was one of the best species. I've ever heard him give and and one of the best state of the Union's. I've ever heard quite frankly, I mean to to to lay out all you've done I've been listening to some pundits afterwards as well. Just kind of he laid out what he is a complex in a short amount of time in two years. I mean, your jaw drops because so many politicians in Washington DC. Do one thing and they live on that for a decade. He he passed tax reform and that afternoon he tweeted about something else. And we were onto the next subject. I mean, so he never stands still at one place. He's accomplished so much but also to outline the vision in future this country. Could have we worked together? I just I was blown away at how he delivered it. The message the content the policy everything and it was pitch. Perfect tonight. We're talking to deputy assistant to the president and deputy press secretary HOGAN Gidley live from the White House right now HOGAN, you know, one of the issues it's going to be discussed after the state of the union tonight's all throughout the day tomorrow. The president this president in particular trying to deliver a unifying message. There will be some skeptics out there. Talk a little bit about that. And why you think president's message of unity tonight might resonate in a way that perhaps it hasn't before. Well, I'll say that. Because so many things he brought up and talked about our areas in which we agree with Democrats. I mean, most Americans agree that we should have safety and security. Most Americans our military should be strong. Most Americans want good paying jobs, and those are things the president has been able to accomplish. But also looking forward and ahead. I mean, how many times have we had a conversation about crumbling infrastructure or a drug prices that are too high or healthcare that needs to be fixed? I mean, these are the types of things that the president put forth in front of the Democrats because they themselves have said they wanted to work on this. They themselves have have run on in one and took back the house on so many of the same things the president ran and won on as well. So there are areas that we can work together to. President extended the olive branch. I think tonight and said, look there's some things that that that I stand tough on. And we may disagree on the edges. But folks at our, quote, we're Americans there were some I will say there were some really kind of shocking moments. I feel like when it wasn't so much with the Democrats stand up for what they don't stand up for. So when the president was talking about African American unemployment being at all time lows there implement all-time highs. No one stood up on the democrat side, Hispanic Americans. Asian Americans all unemployment at all time lows, and they wouldn't stand up the only time they stood up for themselves. When he said, well women are seeing record numbers of employment, and they stood up had to wait for some prodding from Nancy Pelosi. But when they stood up the only thing they stood up for was themselves. And I think that was quite telling and also the point moment where the president talked about what the governor of Virginia had to say about abortion where you deliver a child set it off to the side. And you let the mother and the. Dr decide they didn't even stand up for that. Either. Also, the communism piece where the president said we are America. We are not for communism. Socialism, communism, socialism. And and and they did not stand up for that. And that should be very telling us where some of those Democrats want this country to go. We're talking to deputy assistant to the president and deputy press secretary HOGAN Gidley here on iheartradio state of the union twenty nine special one of the big headline items from the address the announcement that on February twenty seventh and twenty eighth in Vietnam. The president will be meeting with North Korean leader, Kim Jong UN that's something. That's obviously been in the works for a while. Can you give us a little bit of background on when that all came together to include in this speech? Well, look, he he wanted to make this announcement somehow some way that was impactful and important. So that people understood just just what this meant for the potential to have a denuclearized North Korea. I mean it safer for the United States safer for the world. It's safer for our partners and allies across the globe. And and this was an important moment. And and he he mentioned so many of the successes with the remains of our our soldiers being returned from that war and not seeing any testing those types of things that they have done in good faith to show that they want to work with this president. And I think it's one of the biggest moments of the speech, quite frankly is to announce another summit to see if we can't move forward even further and begin to denuclearize North Korea. I mean, I think that's a very very important time in our country history. We're talking to deputy assistant to the president and deputy press secretary HOGAN Gidley on iheartradio state of the union twenty nineteen special. I'm Ryan Gorman. Another part of the address tonight that is going to be taught a lot a talked about a lot over the course of the next few days. The president calling out what he calls ridiculous partisan investigation saying if there's going to be peace and legislation there can't be war. And investigation dive into that a little bit. You know, that Democrats in the house are going to do some investigations they're going to conduct some oversight. Where is the line between what they you believe they can do that would still allow you to work with them? And the point of no return where you're not going to negotiate with them any further. Look that's really up to them. I mean, the as you mentioned, they're the ones who are talking about investigations, they're the ones that are talking about impeachment and other line the president had in the speech was we have to choose between greatness and gridlock results resistance vision or vengeance. Incredible progress or pointless destruction the American people elected the house to go to the Democrats, and they also elected Donald Trump to be in the White House, and they elected Republicans who control the Senate, they expect all of us and deserve all of us to work together. They don't want to waste time and money and energy on on on. Petty, politics and backbiting and bickering. They want us to get something done for them. And we have turned this country this country around the president has done so single handedly in the last two years like no one thought possible on this planet. I mean, the the detractors were everywhere at the beginning of this administration. Now, they so many have been converted as true believers here. And and we want to continue that, but but you can't get bogged down in in investigations that have no merit. The president has been clear. He's done. Nothing wrong. There's been no evidence of wrongdoing, and they just continue to spin their wheels in that way. And I think the American people deserve better. And I think they're going to get better. Final question for you. What is the big item that you would like the American people to take away from the address tonight? That the president of the United States. Donald Trump is the president for all the people what he has done since he got there is lifted every boat, and I mentioned before the economy tax cuts wages increased manufacturing coming back to this country. Good paying jobs lowest unemployment in. Every demographic women seeing record employment for the first time in sixty plus years. Fifty eight percent of the people who've gotten jobs under this job surge with this president have been women African American unemployment all time lows Hispanic unemployment as I mentioned all time lows. Here's the president for everybody has a high minded vision to take us into the future. And if Democrats will join with us, we can do some really great things that will last for generations to come deputy assistant to the president and deputy press secretary HOGAN Gidley you can follow him on Twitter at HOGAN Gidley, forty five HOGAN, we really appreciate the time this evening. Thank you so much for joining us. Thank you so much. You'll have a great night. This is iheartradio state of the union twenty nineteen special coming up. We've still got a lot to get to over. The course of the next two hours or so we're going to be talking to GOP national spokesperson. Kaley mcenaney in just a bit. We'll get her thoughts on the president's address also will shift gears and talk to a former democratic congressman and get his thoughts on both with the president had to say tonight. And also the democratic rebuttal. We'll have American spectator contributing editor Jeffrey Lord on with us in just a bit to get his thoughts on what we heard tonight. And we have a lot of audio to play for you as well. More next on iheartradio state of the union twenty nine thousand special..

I welcome my colleague, John McLaughlin, McLaughlin associates, a premier pollster trusted very much by Republican and by the President Donald Trump because in a recent confab, I heard miss McLaughlin, layout, exactly lessons learned from two thousand eighteen ignored by the Republican leaders who led the house reelection committee. John a very good evening to lessons learned I believe the first one is Nancy Pelosi how could even into your job. Well, it's it's great to be a job. And first one is the we should've run a campaign. Stop her from becoming speaker because of all the Republicans lost a net of forty seats. Twenty five seats with those within raised at another three percents right out. We could have we could have won the Democrats have their record turnout. They had one hundred eighteen million voters nestling for congress. The dental cuts got out sixty one million votes that is less than the five billion less than the sixty six million that Hillary Clinton. The Trump campaign was based on turning out millions more voters than came out of in twenty twelve and then so in two thousand sixteen we go about that. And we're able to bring in new voters and win Pennsylvania, Michigan Wisconsin places at the Republicans had one in a while Pelosi. The Democrats got their vote out, and we never laid a lover because she in September survey she had a thirty three percent favorable rating five percent, unfavorable, right? National survey. The president has always been running in the upper forties in terms of likely voters with his job approval and he had a forty percent job approval. Among all the voters that voted on election day in twenty eighteen and most photos agreed with him on. Of border security where they favored versus open borders versus a legal immigration system. Legal immigration the way it is right now with laws fifty three to twenty eight. They they see the economy is growing on election day was fifty nine to thirty three. Economy getting better rather than horse because of the tax cuts, and they certainly don't favor government run healthcare. Ironically, I don't on election day, the majority of Americans still favored repealing replacing ObamaCare, but the Republicans decided to run a message, let's campaign, and this is on our website on McLachlan online dot com. We asked a thousand people who voted on election day, did the Republicans have compelling message to their reelection. It only forty one percent of all voters said yes. Six hundred ten voters who voter how election they didn't know what the Republicans message was in direct contrast to the way, President Trump ran we ran a campaign in two thousand sixteen where you knew his slogans make America, great again, you knew what was about jobs jobs jobs and a growing economy you knew what was about. Making fair trade and bringing jobs back home. You know, it was about a stricter immigration at ending illegal immigration and building the wall. And and the tough part is and we ran against the swamp. The tough part is the Republicans swamped ran the Republican campaigns. And we got crushed in the house and we got beaten turnout, and we're headed for twenty twenty race close is the speaker of the house the third most powerful person in the government the third in line. If anything happened to the president and vice president, and she can stifle any initiatives, the president wants to have and she's probably gonna do that. Because the, you know, the Democrats swamp just wants to regain control the White House, and they're not gonna give him any victories. If they can help themselves between now and November twenty twenty John your lessons learned about Nancy Pelosi are shocking because it was so obvious puzzled at the time it worked in the past. Why not running Pelosi we seen how the evidence that? She is a one person wrecking crew for the Republican party. She's been transformed. There's no longer even an attempt to be bipartisan as we saw in her two thousand six iteration in the speakership what she has now is a need to justify her final Weirs, a speaker. She's promised her progressives that she will not serve after twenty twenty two. Meaning that she's completely hostage to progresses. She cannot say yes to anything for the next two years is that an advantage for the for the president. Well, it is an advantage for the president. But but it's it's it's a disadvantage for the country's the bad part is people really want results and people would like to see their lives, get better. And I thought it was no coincidence that in September and October. I'm getting calls from friends who work in Wall Street in the markets has fun people either. And they're saying, what do you think's gonna happen the election? And you know, I would say unless we change course, we're gonna lose the house, and certainly the Cavanaugh hearings helps the Republicans mainly because the president's stuck to the dansko Schumer was making a play that the Republicans would back off capital that they will pull with our nation. And if they'd done that it was going to suppress Republican votes in the states where we have thirty five states where there were Senate races on the ballot. And only nine of them were Republican senators. I mean, you had basically twenty six feet. Where the Democrats were for reelection. And we ended up keeping the Senate because we were able to take into yadda, take, Missouri. Take Florida, and unfortunately, we lost Arizona lost Nevada. And we could we should have picked up on Tanner, and we should have picked up West Virginia. So we should have had really four more. But it was a play by Schumer to try to get the Republicans to pull cavenaugh that was suppressed the Republicans who came from voted for Trump and twenty six to because they thought it was important that we get control the federal courts, and the supreme court again, and that helped in the Senate side, but you know, that got affected last too long. And I think any other president of these Republican establishment types would have probably succumb to to Schumer. But Trump stuck by him and enforce that through and got the vote. Final thing in our conversations. I want to talk about just a moment about the Hispanic vote. A recent polls show that the Vatican approval of Donald Trump is fifty fifty. I'm shocked are you shocked? We have about a couple of we have a couple of minutes job. No not shots because Donald Trump. I mean, what's the base against bikes by him saying, we need to secure the borders and root out MS thirteen. Those are the communities that are really concerned about their safety. The second thing is we ask the question with June. Where we said, you think it's fair fair to allow illegal immigrants who come here and clean with silence jumped the line and get economic benefits over those who have come here legally and spent time and money to do it the right way in effect. That's the way the question, and it was seventy five to eighteen they're saying that it's unfair, and that's all voters, but among the Hispanics, the majority of Hispanics are saying it's unfair because. They come near the ones first of all Puerto Ricans or legal their citizens. They should be first class citizens. And and a lot of have come here. Coming here for economic opportunity, and they're doing it. Right. The doing it legally. And when the illegals come in guesses jobs are take taking the new immigrant jobs, and and that's who's getting penalized by this legal immigration. And by what the Democrats want to do with open borders. So what you're talking about is Spanish respond to Trump and during the campaign. People forget the Democrats were member, but Trump ran eight points better among Hispanics with with Mitt Romney. He ran eight points better. Among African Americans Mitt Romney. And you have in a way, he's a blue blue collar billionaire that new immigrants Hispanics look at that. Even blackout Trump entrepreneurs look at they say, that's where I wanna be. I wanna be somebody who has to be successful. John McLaughlin, McLaughlin, shit watching lessons learned from twenty eighteen looking toward twenty twenty. I'm John Batchelor..
