"So I think the consumer addition comes with a trial version of office research, five. Well, I I think we're mixing marshland consumer. I think the ready for office three sixty five on business. They mean pro plus or one of the commercial skews. This is say Microsoft or you sixty five or officers sixty five, Microsoft, three sixty. There is no consumer app Microsoft through sixty five that that's why. Yeah, it's not the only announcement they also oddly announced, headphones, which Brad SAM's will now model for us. Yeah, you did. Zimmer is much more attractive pitcher me wearing those. We can make it make an app wearing them to making. And why is my beautiful. I, I don't like the big can type headphones at. They make my ears sweat, and you know, whenever those over the ear headphones, so they sound great. Yeah, and the noise. Amazing. And you can dial it up and down. So they're going after Bose and beats. Although, yeah, that's so the why? Right? So everyone's like, wait, why is Microsoft doing headphones? They just get out of the music business. And now here they come with this consumer headphone thing. Okay. So the way they positioned it was actually as a productivity tool, if you've listened to how they position that because the whole pitch was, you know, if you're using the surface studio and you're in an office and you're creating, what does everyone do? Who creates like that they all wear headphones while they're create other one block the office, right? You want to be in some kind of zone. Yep. And that's how they position did it wasn't like we wanna be beat that wasn't how they came at it. No, but I but come on, you can't look at this and not see like Bose headphones, like I mean, they're they're so very clearly. Says, finally, the surface phone is here a lot of people are getting. Tweet I had was you finally got the the word surface and phone announcement. How much. Three fifty, three hundred and fifty bucks, but they do look nice and you say they sound and they have Cortana. So that's a big thing, right? So. That was a surprise. It really was. Do you have to have windows to use them. Nope. They work with IOS and Android also. This microphone so I can use it for my four microphone. What not? One, not two, not three, but four. Nice. They're nice. They definitely nice and they said they will be available before the end of the year. You can't. I don't even think you can pre-order them yet. It's right by the end of the year, does not mean October. Right? And when you go to get the page, we can say Email me when these ready, it says US only. Which I guess that's because of Cortana. That's my guess by showed the headphone video. So I guess I ought to show the videos of the other devices. Because you can see the wallpapers that Apple's going to steal next year. Yeah, it's funny how much these the these ads look like, oh, on what the same apple. Yeah. This was not in black. So you get a choice of black or magnesium? Magnesium in blackout. Very nice finally, surface all access, which means you could pay for this for two years. Right? Yep. This is talking about a couple of weeks ago and they're doing. This, what was it called? Surface plus service plus consumer financing. They killed quietly at the very end of August. I think they just stopped doing it and we were like, okay, they must be doing another financing program. So that's what this is surface all rats, which is interesting. Does that who does the XBox financing? I think it is. Yep. And it's who does what was the other financing? They just announced recently. I think the business surface plus is Dell also. So the you pick your device and then there's a monthly fee twenty-five in bucks a month for two years for the go, the cheapest vice and it was like one hundred something bucks for a surface studio. Yeah, hundred fifty one. Studio that includes officer sixty five. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, and this zero interest rate. So mean you're going to pay that much one way or the other is just whether a lot of businesses I don't. I know our business, I think we'd take depreciation immediately, so we would prefer to buy it outright..

"IT pro basically. So Microsoft takes over the management of your windows ten desktop. They're going to sell you the hardware, they're going to automatically provisioned it. It's going to be running Microsoft, three sixty five and apprise. They're going to keep you up to date with patches. Both feature updates, patches fixes the whole thing, and you can kind of sit back in your chair and put your feet up. If you're an IT pro, at least in theory, the first hardware, it's going to work. With the surfaces, and they have said they are going to also offer this with machines from people like HP over and Lenovo and Dell, which is very interesting because HP and Dell, I don't know if Lenovo does offer a very similar service on a themselves like they do this kind of end to end management of windows ten Sheens too, but it's not exactly clear how some of these finer points are going to work. You know, like how if say, you want a Dell machine? Do you buy it from Dell? I think you buy it for Microsoft who will get it from Dell, but it, you know, there are all these kind of little pieces. Those are still a bit unclear on the strategy. It's also unclear how resellers fit in because a lot of Microsoft's resellers, you know their systems integrators and Vars and all that. They do this as a business like this is their fulltime business. They configure. And purchase and set up your PC for you. And so as soon as a story came out, people are like, I thought your story must be wrong because they're going head to head with their channel and that's a big, no, no. But when I when I asked a Bill Roggio Ona's who is the one in charge of this program about that? He said that guy Bill k. who used to be Donna soccer's boss and headed up the windows inside a program and also was head of windows fundamentals. Remember like two years ago, he just kind of disappeared, and they said he's doing some enterprise thing, but we can't tell you what it is. Well, this is what it is. I, I asked him about the conflict in the channel and he said we are going to be working with resellers and we're going to work so that they can still add value. And and I think he told me Bill the customer be the one kind of who is the one billing the customer. So that's gonna be interesting to see how that works. And I also heard from some IT pros said, I don't like this. You're. You're taking away my job. Basically if my company says, you know what? We want Microsoft to manage our desktops. So what am I gonna do I know. Weights. Now this is this is like the move to cloud competing. This is the same argument is you know, I used to be an exchange administrator, and now you're telling me we're gonna use office three sixty five. You're taking away my job. You know, unfortunately for those people, this industry evolves really quickly and I see this is a natural extension of office research, thirty five to Microsoft three sixty five to to the offering you're talking about today, the manage desktop. Tap 'em MD. The now I Peter bright described it in ours. Technica. It's subscription software running on subscriptions to subscription hardware, running subscription software subscription management? Yeah, basically, it's like you're, you're quote renting everything. Right? The hardware, the software and the services like Poland? Yep. Yep. So the way this was gonna roll out is there are some. There are a few customers who already are doing this with Microsoft. They were there pilot users and the next group of people who are gonna get this are in the US and the UK. Microsoft's already saying, if you're in those two areas and you are interested in this, reach out to your local account managers and talk to them about it, then in twenty nineteen or the early part of two thousand nineteen Canada, Australia, New Zealand. After that other countries will also get the option to go MD. What's the question of course is how much is this gonna cost a question. There is no. Like like everything in the enterprise. There's no set fee, right? So if you're a company who says, hey, hey, we won ten thousand desktops on this. You're going to get a better price than somebody who says, hey, we want one hundred desktops, right? And it's also going to depend which can a laptop or desktop that you buy..

"So that they can recruit more people to deal with these new precious and kent for instance announced just two weeks ago that they would be recruiting another two hundred officers as a result so is this you acknowledging that counts and police may well have played a part in this recent trouble now this is me acknowledging that new precious which we've put onto the police which they have responded to a dealing with the new types of crime that we're increasingly saying is that because of these pressures they need a distant additional resources and they are getting them in terms of the serious violence that we've seen an increase on what i did was commissioned a report back in october what i've done since then is put together a strategy for dressing the serious violence i think it is a mistake and we do a disservice to the communities and the families who've seen these tragedies by just pointing to police numbers well i will say that police play apart hallows that this is a complex crime a complex area it is not all about police numbers may not be about police numbers but i'm home office research leaked today suggests that it certainly does play a part is this is hotline this document you haven't seen the document on this what you're launching a serious violent crime started today and you haven't seen home office research into this very area well with a lot of documents around the home office we do a lot of work in this area but come and violence must be a priority must of course is a priority and as i say i think that you do a disservice to the communities and the families by making this a political tit for tat about police numbers if you listen to the serious senior policing comments like from crested today they will say that this is a complex crime and you cannot you cannot arrest your way out of this what we need is what we're proposing will a series von show and i will i promise i will come onto this but i do want since you haven't seen the document let me read a piece of it for you the research says it's unlikely to be the factor that triggered the shift in serious violence but maybe an underlying driver that is allowed to rise to continue that's a serious allegation is many different views that people have which is why i commissioned this report.

"Overnight that she had in front of her home office research that suggested that resources dedicated to serious violence have come under pressure and that is therefore likely to be a factor in the rise in violent crime now to me there's two options for her either she saw that research and she chose to say the exact opposite in yesterday sunday telegraph or she commissioned that research and she didn't see it either she's incompetent or she chose to mislead the public we haven't seen all of the research how have we just seen a couple of the slides and one of the highlighter boxes says not the main driver has likely contributed now and as i say we wouldn't say is either the main driver or the sole factor bert you cannot take over twenty one thousand police officers off the streets without firstly reducing the places ability to respond to crime or as we heard in that click with those young people without destroying the ability to please communities and to build the trust in place to allow the police to police by console sent to build relationships and to to build on that very basic peeling principal the first at base fundamental a policing in this country which is to prevent crime and disorder and that's what neighborhood policing does it prevents crime from taking play place in the first place what amber rod suggested when she works in the article you mentioned she said in the early noughties when series violent crimes were at their highest police numbers were rising yes and in the early noughties or the beginning of the first decade of a prolonged decline in violent crime now the figures we've seen so far this year we're not a spike they're part of a four year long trend in a rise in violent crime that we'd start to see fall so i think we can say that costa policing have been a part in that but it's not just an policing of course this government is also cut youth services that cut early intervention they've cut prevention they've cut to mental health services we might not say that all of that directly causes.

"You know here's an interesting uh aspect of that the business community which would normally you would think look for the more moderate candidate and perhaps even a republican candidate but in california a re with three republicans vying for governor three republicans that are being recognised at least by the media as potential candidates or kind of cancelling each other out the business community takes a look at gavin news men antonio vera go say and they're starting to put their chips behind the former la mayor because just as you said gather new some seems to be moving further and further to the left is he too far left for california well that's an interesting question because california has moved so far to the left over the last decade but um folks uh who were sort of in the centre um are starting to say of the choice between those two uh antenna elvia rick also may be the guy they vote for uh and the california police chiefs association and the peace offices research association california have endorsed antonio vera gaza and and part of the reason they they they backed him his opposition to eliminating cash bail and governor brown's 2011 present a realignment porsche vera goes a told the law enforcement leaders that he was open to reviewing the data to see if warranted a dialing back in warranted dialing back the initiatives the cops believe went too far prop fortyseven 57 etc not only that but when you look at an other other um paolo full interested in state of california for instance via regrowth um when he was mayor uh even though he started his political life as an organizer for the teachers unions actually stood up to the teachers' union some of their demands when he was mayor and battle as you remember uh to put his favorite members on the school board then there's the healthcare issue where uh got a new som is all behind the single payer plan supported by the nurses union and as you know that plan was stalled in the legislature by the democratic assembly leader because he said it was woefully incomplete there was no funding mechanism far it's the ever go say has taken a different position on singled there he says he likes the.
