"I don't have a <Speech_Male> bad state yet. But he <Speech_Male> gave you all the bad <Speech_Male> stats <Speech_Male> all right. <Speech_Male> I think the bad <Silence> debt is the rest of his <Speech_Male> career. <Speech_Male> Yeah radstadt <Speech_Male> is <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> sure <Speech_Male> okay but <Speech_Male> it is hard. It's hard <Speech_Male> to find a tight end. Who can <Silence> do that. I mean. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I don't wanna completely <Speech_Male> overlook those five <Speech_Male> games when he <SpeakerChange> got the opportunity. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> but i think this <Speech_Male> is the range like <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> there are <Speech_Male> exceptional <Speech_Male> five game stretches <Speech_Male> from like <Speech_Male> there's an exceptional <Speech_Male> season or two <Speech_Male> from austin hooper <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> eric. <Speech_Male> Ebron like <Speech_Male> this is the range <Speech_Male> where you can find <Speech_Male> that type <Speech_Male> of exceptional <Speech_Male> glimmer <Speech_Male> in the past <Speech_Male> hunter <SpeakerChange> henry <Speech_Male> for goodness sake <Speech_Male> hooper <Speech_Male> Hooper's was with the falcons <Speech_Male> that was a completely <Silence> different <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> a completely different <Speech_Male> situation <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> and he was by <Speech_Male> the way. <Speech_Male> This was not a great <Speech_Male> stretch for tyler hague. <Speech_Male> He was the first tight <Speech_Male> end in the super bowl. <Speech_Male> Era with <Speech_Male> four straight games <Speech_Male> with seven catches <Speech_Male> one hundred yards. <Speech_Male> It was in <Speech_Male> some respects in that <Speech_Music_Male> one respect it was the <Speech_Male> best stretch <Speech_Male> tight end history. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> But <Speech_Male> you're right <Speech_Male> out of four years. <Speech_Male> You're right though <Silence> in. That <Speech_Male> view <Speech_Male> can make a <Speech_Male> case for a lot of these <Speech_Male> players. So it's not <Speech_Male> like they're complete junk <Speech_Male> but they're tight <Speech_Male> end so they'll probably end up being <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> games <SpeakerChange> in five years. <Speech_Male> <Silence> Yeah <Silence> yeah <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> no. We don't have to argue <Speech_Male> that point anymore. <Speech_Male> Any final <SpeakerChange> thoughts <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> about <Speech_Male> this position <Speech_Male> before you go into <Speech_Male> your fantasy draft. <Speech_Male> How <Speech_Male> many tight ends have we talked <Speech_Male> about today. That <Speech_Male> you've not <Speech_Male> said oh. Yeah i'd <Speech_Male> like to have that guy on <Speech_Male> your team if <Speech_Male> it isn't that <Speech_Male> many than you should <Speech_Male> probably target one <Speech_Male> of those first three tight <Speech_Male> ends with one of your <Speech_Male> first two <SpeakerChange> picks. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> just want one <Speech_Male> of my top eight really. <Speech_Male> i'd rather <Speech_Male> not have to <Speech_Male> deal with the heartache <Speech_Male> of the rest of <Speech_Male> this group and it can pay <Speech_Male> off it. It has a couple <Speech_Male> of times over the <Speech_Male> years and we've <Speech_Male> also had a ton <Speech_Male> of bust so <Speech_Male> my my <Speech_Male> strategies pretty much <Speech_Male> kelsey in round <Speech_Male> one if i'm late <Speech_Male> killer <Speech_Male> waller in three <Speech_Male> of their their <Speech_Male> andrews in round <Speech_Male> five i'm thrilled <Speech_Male> or i'll wait until <Speech_Male> seven or eight and take <Silence> gutter orphan <Speech_Male> to the nice <Speech_Male> thing is that receivers <Speech_Male> deep quarterback <Speech_Male> is <Speech_Male> you could literally <Speech_Male> start your draft going <Speech_Male> nothing but running <Speech_Male> backs in a tight end <Speech_Male> and not <Silence> feel bad <SpeakerChange> about it later. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> That's going to do it for the <Speech_Male> tight end. two years we've got <Speech_Male> mailbag publishing <Speech_Male> on friday <Speech_Male> looking forward to that senator <Speech_Male> apple podcasts questions <Speech_Male> too late to get them <Speech_Male> for this week show but <Speech_Male> we'll have more mailbags <Speech_Male> obviously throughout <Speech_Music_Male> the off season and <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> not really offseason anymore. <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> Well have more mailbox <Speech_Music_Male> coming up over your <Speech_Music_Male> emails throughout our training <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> camps or in less than <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> two weeks apple podcast <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> question as <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> well. "Maybe he could be second. That would be surprising over camera but he could be third in that. It's gonna be harboring the top five but top eight something like that. I mean that could definitely happen. so i that's what you're excited about right. The role that travel could play and he was a third round pick chavez. kelsey was the third round. Pick granted was like thirty picks earlier than trautmann overall Kid who was a fifth round pick. But you get good good tight ends in the third round in the nfl draft there. There are one hundred and forty two targets vacated in this new orleans offense from emmanuel sanders injured. Cook leaving the team Twenty one touchdowns two saints tight ends over. The last two seasons they were tied for the eighth most tight ends and twenty twenty eighth most touchdowns to tight ends in two thousand twenty tied for the second most touchdowns to tight ends in two thousand. Nineteen the target share. I hope it ends up working out. Trautmann's way where he's third. I think he's going to have to be best unless there's an injury again and he's just going to need a high catch rate to boost the efficiency there but i think the touchdowns could be in favor. I could see him being a. He's a big guy. He's tough to take down. I could see him being a reliable red zone option for james. Who's leaned on tight ends going back to his college days. If james is the guy really liked trauma and if it states hill than i'd like trautmann i read a little bit on that. I think over the past two years. Jared cook has shown us the recipe. It's the reason. I don't have trautmann. Projected very high. Because i don't ever believe it but each of the past two years. Jared cook has had some value because he's scored sixteen touchdowns on hundred and five targets. You should never ever ever. I don't think bet on somebody doing that. But he's done it two years in a row and been useful despite the fact that he averages like forty receiving yards per game. I don't know if how much of that was related to breeze. And if they'll score passing touchdowns at the same rate they have the past two years but he like his path to being a fantasy relevant player. I think is the jared cook path. He needs to score at a very high rate. And what about tyler higby. Where's the love for tyler higby. Because he's definitely. I think a lot of people are gonna see him in a higher tier than this. And you haven't basically at the bottom of your tier. Yeah maybe a little bit of this as me. Just being burned by him last year. I was extremely bullish on tyler. And he ended up not being the factor that i thought he would be. I think this is still gonna be an offense that downfield and leans on the receivers a little bit more and higby is still going to have his fair. Share of pass blocking duties in this offense stafford. A tight ends. I've done the work on that Anywhere from twenty one to twenty two percent of all his throws of gone too tight ends three of the past four years anywhere from ten to twenty six point. Nine percent of his total touchdowns have gone too tight ends over the past four years younger. There's an opportunity there with ever gone. Chur that higby is worth a late pick. Yes he's in that same vein as blake jarwin. He's a potent offense..

"Because i think he's got like big time sleeper potential. The other guys that are buying them. There are some that are like that. Coal commit fits that profile. Maybe sickie fits that profile. A little bit But there's there's also logan thomas in this tier crockett's in this year guys. That are just you know. Maybe they get you close to ten. P p r points more often than not nothing sexy. Nothing fun but something someone. That'll help your. Help pad your stats. A little bit. With the occasional touchdown mixed in or in the case of grog. That's how he's going to get. The majority of his points. Here is via touchdowns so maybe a couple of weeks this year. He'll have like five catches to go along with it a couple things well and i actually have. Oj howard overgrown. He was better last year when they were both healthy. And i think if he's if he's recovered his most certainly better athletes better downfield threat than broncos at this stage of their careers. I mean some people might say that at one point was most talented tight. End in football. Didn't say that. And is it time for the coal. Commit one positive one negative step that you created. I haven't done a good bad staffer. Cochabamba sure yes. Give me your one positive. One negative staffer combat the positive. When i think a lot of people have have said already if you look at the bears last six games including the playoffs. Yes the bears the playoffs last year. Coal commit out targeted jimmy. Graham thirty four to seventeen and that's fantastic like clear number one tied in for the bears in those last six games Unfortunately grand still in the team which is why that matters but should make you feel good be negative stats and those same six games. Graham scored fifty two point seven fantasy points. Commit scored forty three point two. Yeah he right. He had an eighteen percent target share. Which i think you'd take right. Oh dallas got her projected for right Was the i'm assuming of his touchdowns that made the difference in the pbr. Points it was partial. It was a lot of it was touchdowns. Most of it was touchdowns. Also though like jimmy graham was one of the least efficient tight ends to see as many targets as he did last year like six yards per target nine yards per reception. Really really awful stuff. Coal commit was worse than both roberta. Yeah okay that's that good. I think that what. I've noticed. I've given out these statistics on different shows but already said we've had surprise players in the top five three years in a row. We've had a number two tight end. Get into the top five and none of them had more than none of them. Had even six hundred yards as rookies. So it does happen and logan. Thomas wasn't a rookie. But he was top. Five and darren waller wasn't a rookie but he was top five two years ago and last year. Obviously so this is a position that gives you these nice surprises and targets to me. That is the most important thing almost every top. Five tight end over. The last five years has been first or second on his team in targets. I think the only exception was robert onion and he was three or four targets behind number two. So you've got to be among your target leaders and trautman. I don't know that he's going to be second. That's the thing but he could be third..

"Which we should. I think that everybody's worried about courtland sutton at right. I mean that's kind of hits not just sutton. It's judy too. Well courts um right. And that's the thing that i've said this before. I believe most fantasy analysts. Think just from a pass catching fantasy perspective. They'd rather have. Noah fant and tj hopkinson. But the situation has changed so much where hodkinson lost marvin jones and kenny. Golladay and fant added courtland sutton basically. I think that's probably the industries. It's just like this offense and play. Caller and quarterback is not quarterback the whole time and teddy bridgewater could change things or rodgers. Could for a good way. They've averaged one hundred and thirty three targets. Too tight ends over. The past. three seasons. Shurmur is offense says and it's been one hundred and forty each of the past two seasons. So yeah i think courtland sutton is definitely going to get targets but do we think those tight end targets are going to shrink from one hundred and thirty or one hundred and forty down to a hundred no But he had ninety three targets and fourteen games. So what's that in sixteen. What's that in. Seventeen yeah even more. Yeah and again. it's just i i lean more. I think there's enough targets. I mean we've talked about this. Before the broncos through like one hundred and thirty passes to players that wide receivers specifically that they don't need to throw to near as much. They threw one hundred and seventy nine passes to tim. Patrick caja handler dejean amilton. It's good point and it's never been. I did a bet on talent right fans got it. Well the problem. I've got with fans at a. He was inconsistent last year. And be they. Don't throw them enough passes near the end zone. If those two things change he's on. Don't get your talent is good. I've got concerns about the quarterback situation. There of course but last year he started with thirty three points in his first two games. He averaged seven point five. Pr points in his remaining thirteen. Only three games with ten plus. Pr points he had six target. Six six targets that were either front of the end zone or in the end zone last year. Six he needs. More work was tied for eighteenth and red zone targets among titans with ten growing in the ball more near the goal line. He'd be fantastic fantastic..

"To you make. I take got hurt and fan. I mean basically those stat lines are very very close slightly. Better than what we got from. Hopkinson and logan thomas last year. Yeah talking diggins smith ahead of both for sure. I have judy rankin. Pr head of both. I'm definitely taking judy fan. And now let's do. I'm sorry what would you say like comments in parkinson finished third and fifth. And that's you know it's not that wasn't that great in terms of per game production but they also scored thirty more fantasy points than tied in twelve so getting into the next tier for dave hodkinson andrews pits and daughter. Heath would have noah fant in that group next year and he would have hopkinson ahead of that group. The next tier is round nine through ten upside starters. Irv smith noah fant jonnu smith and robert tanya irv smith noah fant jonnu smith and robert tanya. That's dave's fourth year so he you don't have fan here. You have fans here ahead of of this group and you. Who's in that to your anyway. Yeah it's similar guys not jonnu smith. Because i don't. I don't like the patriots situation but i've got logan. Thomas austin hooper. irv smith blake jarwin. Arik ebron robert onion not very similar. Well no it's it's. It's two of the three guys that i didn't already list plus a bunch of others. I just think you get to this range and this is your projection for these guys is like nine fantasy points per game. It's not exciting at all. is there upside. i think almost universally. There's upside there's some demonstrated upside from guys like tanya and hooper who we don't think can ever do what they did in the past but they have done it same for ebron. And then there's some and logan thomas and there are some hopeful upside with guys like irv smith and blake jarwin. I think this is the spot where you start taking. Chances with your tight ends. What type of tight end are you looking for in round nine around. Ten first and foremost don't have a tight end already. You're looking for a starter you're looking for someone they'll say okay. I can start this guy for at least the first couple of weeks of the season see how he does and then make a decision after that. The four tight ends. That i have here i think have the most upside of all the remaining tight ends left on the board and a lot of it's based on just what i've what i've watched on film. There's a lot of good athleticism in this year. I think irv smith is a good athlete. I think noah fant is like he might be like. Jk dobbins of tight ends in that. He's he's really athletic but he's in a rough spot where it's hard to see him breaking out and having a huge year because he's got so many other guys to share within that denver passing game jonnu i still think is is a hell of an athlete and i think there's a lot more that he can learn to do. That could put him in the tier higher next year with the patriots and then tongan not quite as athletic kind of had some deceptive speed. Like he got behind the defense a few times last year. And you're like what. How did he do that but he gets a lot of short yardage work in the red zone. And that gives him all kinds of touchdown upside so these are four tight ends that i'm comfortable with saying no problem. Starters worth worth the price.

noah fant jonnu smith logan thomas diggins smith judy rankin judy fan dave hodkinson andrews pits Irv smith robert tanya irv smith robert tanya irv smith Thomas austin hooper irv smith blake jarwin Arik ebron robert onion Hopkinson hopkinson blake jarwin parkinson

"I think those can. I don't know that. I necessarily like that much more than dave. I'm i'm pretty happy to get got around seven I just don't like the other titans. That much ahead of him. The only thing i would say Is that yeah. He only had a what was it. What the target share from from hurts David fourteen point one. That's largely because and i'm doing the math in my head right. Not right now. Sixteen percent of his targets went zach. Ertz that that's thirty percent of jalen hurts targets that went to earth's or goddard's we don't currently i. I took her out of my eagles projections. I don't think i don't know where he's gonna play or what's going to happen but it. It seems really unlikely. That hurts is on the eagles. If that's the case. I think there's definitely an opera like you would certainly expect more than fourteen percent of his targets to go to godart if thirty percent of his targets went to tight ends when through last year. I think it could be as high as twenty so. I do think that there is more upside there. Just by removing zach ertz because he threw which we don't know how much of that was the offensive philosophy in philadelphia and the lack of wide receivers but the evidence. We have from hurts. Last year's like a third of his passes went to tight ends in titans were humongous part of that offense last year dan. They're going to be a big part of this offense this year. Don't get me wrong in your points valid. Do you think it gets over. Twenty percent because devante smith had zero percent of the target share last year in philadelphia. And now he's there he's new. I would imagine that they will have other tight ends. Take away a little bit. i'm just i just i'm just. I'm nervous about goddard breaking out into this huge role where he's a candidate for one hundred targets. I've got him at one hundred two over seventeen games. Which isn't spectacular but again. I think that's exactly what i have. Noah fant projected for that would be a sixty five cats all right Sixty five catches up seven hundred and like i have fanton got projected for almost exactly the same stat line. Except for the fact that i think it i'm always a sucker for the coming touchdown regression. And so i think the lot fan will have better touchdown luck this year almost certainly but i think you have to project gutter to score more touchdowns than fan based on what we've seen in their career. So far. Can i ask you when you look at the metrics on dallas qatar. What kind of a player is he. See anything special so far. No better better than zach. Ertz has been the past two years right like in the in the overall tight end spectrum in the national football league..

"You know you might have to commit around five pick and around let you could take around five and six pick on if you really like hopkinson and then dak prescott or something like that you would need one of the two to slide. I think unless got hurt. Your guy hockey needs case fan. Hopkinson is going sixty seconds. So it's the very end of around five and dak. Prescott is gearing. Fiftieth lamar jackson fiftieth. All right if you made that russell wilson he's going back kinston so you could you with the last pick of round five in the first pick around six. Yeah and it's conceivable. If you had the mark andrews going sixty fifth so he's going after harkinson. You could have a middle middle of the round pick and add about fifty seven overall. Take kyla murray or something like that. If he's there. Were one of those quarterbacks and then hope to get mark andrews in the next round maybe hopkinson falls a few spots. You might get a little bit lucky but but that strategy overall. What do you think about two running backs two receivers or some combination of that with your first four picks and then a quarterback in a tight end. You'll get the second tier of quarterback. Dave puts mahomes in that same year. So we the first or the second year but a top six quarterback and top six tight. End in rounds. Five and six can do it. I think it's good. My my preference would be because i think gen like i know what the adp is. No all those guys are late round five early round six. The quarterbacks are experiences generally in round six. You will find one of those quarterbacks. It's usually russell wilson. Sometimes it's dak prescott it. It has been lamar jackson which is astonishing to me but it sometimes he. He falls to the last year that group i. I love getting five running backs wide receivers. And then taking the last of the quarterbacks in round six and then taking god or fanton round seven okay dave do you have a. You have a thought on that. No i think that he's planned is fine. You just have to like got her to do it. And you have to get goddard and seven. You should not reach for dallas. Gutter is the point that i'll make today's. Let's let's have fan debate. Then because he's obviously dave you have him in that third tier but at the bottom of like the tier ranges. i think i've got that ranges routes five through seven. Yes and if i broke out of that tear the range would be round five basically for hopkinson and andrews and pits and then got a ruby in his own tier as around seven pick. I'm not as jazzed about him. As other people are the distribution from hurts last year the addition of devante smith. We'll nervous about him getting a ton of targets. Anything else you wanna say or throw it over to heath five point seven targets per game with hurts. Fourteen percent target share from hurts. No red zone targets from hurts in three and three quarters games. Averaged six point six yards per attempt with was eight point seven and Hertzel run in the red zone. That could take away targets in the red zone which were not existent already last year. He's made the case for got her..

"Come off the board. Sometimes when the great running backs and wide receivers are not are not there anymore or at least andrews met you know what i'm saying. So so that's the kind of discussion. I wanna have here. And so gimme the next year and we'll talk about some of the maybe you say okay. I'm happy to take waller kit or maybe andrews over josh jacobs or i don't know travis t. n. or amari cooper but not these guys and you can plug in your own running backs and receivers. They're so what's the next year for me. The next year starts with mark andrews and this is where we get into the fun part of tight end tears. It's actually it's hopkinson andrews. Npr followed by pits and got her got her half tier for me. So the top three tight ends in this tier hopkinson andrews pits. They're kind of in their own bubble and got her can't break through that bubble but he's not quite part of the tier below him so he's in this year so he's my he's in the third and a half year for me i suppose and i'm i'm looking for these tight ends starting in round five. So they're going to be a lot of running back. So i'm taking ahead of these tight ends and plenty of good receivers and even a few quarterbacks before i start looking at hopkinson andrews pits gutter. Yeah i have basically the same guys. It's got hurt pits and fans I'm not as excited to draft this tier. As dave is the nice thing with god. Her infant is you don't have to be I start looking at these guys. The end of round six Or in round seven and the only to the river there at that point guard her fan and so i draft them so what about going back to the wide receiver tears. What about the amari. Cooper robert woods ceedee lamb. Chris godwin mike evans. Before all these guys and all these guys for you does not include mark andrews though correct but it would for dave so dave. You're we take all those wide receivers ahead of making lamb ahead of of andrews and hopkinson. I'm taking lock it ahead of them. Dj more npr. I'll take ahead of them. I've got your chase one spot ahead of hopkinson and my overall rankings. I think it's pretty easy for me. At least it's pretty easy to take the starting running backs and the starting wide receivers while say top twenty five of each of those before all these guys what it. It's almost like this is a this tier of tight ends for me is a decision with whichever of the top five or six wherever you're tier. Cutoff is quarterback Piler murray lamar jackson. Dak prescott like those guys versus these guys. I think is a difficult decision..

"All right so mark andrews. Last year he was tight end five and he was six and pr. He was four nine. Pbr per game. He was actually fourth and he played only fourteen games. And all right. Let's make your case. He should be in that. To your with with kittle and waller. Well i mean. I think i said at the beginning. He is equally apart basically from the the tier behind. I think the two and a half tier makes sense He has shown us production. Closer to those guys than anybody else. Except for i guess zach ertz and it's not particularly close. I think on a per game basis he was right with darren waller in twenty nineteen I was thirteen point. Nine points behind him and played one fewer game so i he's shown us the ability to produce at that not just eleven twelve and a half points per game or more two years in a row. We have no one else that that has given us that. I love the target share that he's giving you over the past two seasons. He was at twenty three point. Four percent twenty nineteen twenty three point seven percent in the games that he played in two thousand twenty. But i i wish he'd get more yardage. I wish he had more numbers overall any average six point four targets per game. It's a nice target share. It's just not as many targets as you'd like your stud tied into have on a week in week out basis. And they've added. Sammy watkins agra shot bateman. Are those two newcomers going to take targets away from brown from andrews from both the ravens going to try and diversify and spread the ball around a little bit more and keep defenses off kilter that way. So that's why i couldn't put them in in the second tier or even the second and a half tier i he's squarely in the third tier for me. He's at the top of that era a non pr. He's not in that top tier that top of that tier npr. Because i'm worried about the target. The target volume paling in comparison to hopkinson for sure. And maybe pit as well. Does this matter to you. Here's a naser stat. Mark andrews had back to back one hundred yard games to start the two thousand and nineteen season since then in his last twenty seven games. He's averaging forty nine point four yards per game. I mean that's an example of what i stalk you did say give the numbers though but sure but i mean that is i m eliminating two one hundred yard games. But it's been twenty seven games in a row where he's on pace for seven hundred and nine yards. He's only.

"The kindle hit where Kindle hinton started and noah fant got hurt he was at eleven point five yeah and remember we all use different scorings. But it's close but to give you eleven. Pr points per game is what dave is looking for. Not that many did it. Kelsey almost doubled that he was almost twenty one points per game. Darren waller was seventeen point. Five george kittle. Fifteen point six i have mark andrews at twelve point two. I have tony at eleven point. Eight so i guess he didn't quite make that for dave and cj zombie at eleven point four and two games at ten point five games. He played sixteen games and had one hundred and sixty eight total points. Yeah there's two more tight ends at fifty when he played fifteen games according to according to f f. today if he only played fifteen games than he makes it football guys says he played sixteen as well. That's true i'm gonna keep robert. Cbs does say sixty. And that is weird. I think you should start using cbs. That's how do you do you have that wrong. What other lies have you told us over the year what it makes me second guess those stats now all as all tax all of them. You can't do that to me. Lies damn lies and as our stats log. Onto his game log. Maybe there was a game played like only ten percent of the snow. You know what it was say. He had no stats in week one. But he played sixty two percent of the snaps. You can't do that. dot com. You don't mean a podcast host. What an award winning podcast host. You're giving out false numbers. Don't blame the source of where you're getting them from. I think it would have played source. I m sorry. I feel bad. I honestly sucks. I feel bad about that but okay all right. Let's move on. Let's talk about the tears. I think we should do some news in notes. Just real quick here. Jamie sent me a link. Today from from mike florio profootballtalk. He wrote about burger and the dead giveaway. That ben roethlisberger had out of the shotgun which was most of their snaps is it does have to do with his feet. Yeah i've i've seen that for years. Well okay well all right. Well he Put his his foot. Was i on the ground for runways and an elevated for past place. Was it like back a little bit too. Like he's got a foot like step back. Yeah i'll tell you in a second. I'll ask f f today today. All say it was his hand that was up in the air. That means it's a pass. Yeah well it doesn't matter exactly the placement but it was. It was big tell They ran the shotgun. Eighty three percent of the time. And when it's iran rothlisberger stands flat-footed before the snap when it's a pass. He lifts his left heel off the ground before the snap. He does that even when he fakes. The hand off before throwing the ball. If you can fix that it might make them a little bit. More efficient offensively. It's nice for the defense to know what type of play is coming. I really couldn't believe that that that was i. Don't know if teams caught onto that though. 'cause rothlisberger still had.

"They are clearly trying to give him some positive feelings going into the off season. I would imagine they're probably gonna give him somewhere in the neighborhood of eight plus targets again. He had eight targets against him in the first matchup. So it's such a good opportunity for him to go out on a high note. So i would prefer to just use him in defense but he's he's in the conversation if you're scrambling in a deeper league with seventeen yeah. This was his first game. Last last week was his first game with more than five targets in his last six and the thing is they had really become a running team. Drew lock had a midseason. He was throwing forty times every game and then before last week it was more like thirty two times or less or fewer. So they went. They didn't run the ball as much as i thought they would last week. And i guess we'll see what the game plan. Is this week. But i think it's honestly throw to score run to win if they have the opportunity to because you gotta you gotta drew lock jerry. Jeudy these guys some good values going. They haven't played well they they've been let down. Those players in particular have been a letdown for for. What the broncos hoping for featuring. melvin. Gordon does nothing for their. He's clearly going to be back next year. He's a hundred and seven yards away from one thousand so i'm sure that matters to him to get that number. He can still do that while they do. Focus on throwing the ball. But this is. The secondary is bad for the raiders. They should play well in this game so i think judy is going to have a chance whether he comes down with the gadgets or not. That's another story. But i'd be very surprised if he doesn't. Apr especially the cage. A hamlet banged up as well. We are starting noah. Fant would you start. Noah fant zakar. It's fit twenty twenty one question. Yeah twenty twenty one question jerry. "We'll probably somewhere between if things go right. We'll probably be at the floor of things i think. Not having gibson. There's big for logan thomas as shown in that steelers game like you said he was short area weapon for washington for most of the game and then toward the end of the game. He started running longer. Routes and alex smith was finding him. He's not explosive at all. He's a big body who plays a lot and could get a lot of targets and has been kind of touched on dependent all year but now the doors open for him to get seven targets. And that's been rare for him. So i i don't mind him as a fringe starter and i would start them out of dalton. Schultz noah fant or logan thomas. I've got fant. I got a weird feeling. About noah fant this week in that matchup against carolina. Let's talk about jd. Mckissic your first of all. Terry maclaurin is a start. He's nineteen th for jamie and thirteenth fourteenth and more like twenty fourth for heath. But he's a start. Jd mckissic so if you look at the combined catches for mc four mckissic and gibson in the last games that would be. The five games. at alex. smith is played. He started four of them. You can count that high be. I've got twelve eleven. Four seven and ten seven or catches. The four was one of the games they wanted to staus or cincinnati. Yeah dallas seven or more catches and or five games ten or more catches and three or five games and mckissic had ten catches last week at pittsburgh against one of the teams. That's against the team had gone giving up the fewest receiving yards per game to running backs. So yeah i mean. I sat cam akers for probably mckissic. I'm it's gonna be mckissic. A ronald jones have made that decision. Pr but i see a must start and pr athlete. I think he's a good start. Npr saying that he's a muster implies that he's like where do you rank jay z inside your top twenty four. Oh man wow you love. jd mckissic. i can't go on him. But i see what you see. And i'm hoping that he gets a lot of targets. His role should be cemented in now with gibson out passing downs. Hurry up offense. Two minute drill everything but the goal line and like i down the table from everything else. Is there to games with gibson where he got eight carries so figured. That's the floor without mckissic without gibson there. I would assume he's going to get probably closer to ten carries especially after paying barbara. Start the game and goes one for one two two three and then they realize he's not going to do anything. i mean. fourteen carries for twenty three yards. I know it's pittsburgh but still that's that's though it's a better run defenses. But it'd be nice to get some more carries. Okay who's the better. I like washington better. Yeah washington's probably better..

"And welcome in. Welcome back monday. November thirtieth and the mega don was six weeks ago. An nfl time. Yeah and here we are. It's monday morning Fresh off of a thanksgiving holiday. Hope everybody's doing well out there. And he my jason. The fantasy football is back with you at the ballers on twitter. If you wanna follow us over there has been wild. Gentlemen wild to say the least. I don't remember ever. I mean obviously. This was a week in the nfl. Like we haven't had in a long time because not only. Did you have all sorts of weird injuries. But you had all the covid worries in changing games but the fact that we had a mega show in our show is on a wednesday. The amount of years that were between thursday and this show is absolutely insane and by the time football kicked off on sunday i had. I had no idea anything that was happening in the nfl. That's how it felt. This week was absolutely insane. I starting with what kindle hinton the newest quarterback for the denver broncos as you put a cheat code in at the wide receiver position. You miss a couple up down. Arrows miss the alien kids and the cool thing. Work go back to the checkpoint now kendall hit and did not work out. He looked like We we kept saying it was like we were out there trying to throw a pass you know it. Was he completed one. Pass at noah fant lead team one reception and that was it for the entire game. So it's amazing. In hindsight it seems like the best strategy for that offense would have been to just snap the ball to a running back and run every play because they didn't complete any passes. So if i felt real bad for him on one hand he's got a story to tell probably didn't think he was gonna start a game as the quarterback for the denver broncos in his life probably not. I mean maybe he thought it. I don't know he has such a great story for future thanksgiving's to tell his children and grandchildren with such a bad indy around kids. Let me tell you about the time. Really really grandpa you started. I started a quarterback. Really how'd you do. I sucked through the like ten times. And how small was he. I couldn't believe how little he was well. Anyways i was thinking about that too. And then i just looked it up. And he's six foot one ninety five so he's not six foot. I'm just that that was the the the quick recovery from google. So if that's what he is. I mean i ninety five a very small being will exact same physique as well you know what he walked away from the game in one piece. He did that was. That was the key but so much happened. We're going to reflect on studs and duds on the show. Get into the news but first we must get sophisticated and.

"Thursday broncos country and it it does feel like abbie thursday nice weather starting to almost feel like fall and broncos back on the practice field with a couple of faces. I think you want to see. Certainly noah fant back out there and limited capacity is a good thing demar dotson for the second day in a row. The full participant. I think there's going to be a decision. It's going to have to be made it right. Tackle you go back to the veteran. Or do you activate allies wilkinson and start him. I think you can activate them and not start him. Then those are maybe mutually exclusive but wilkinson get his job back or was dotson playing well enough that you keep the twelve year vet in. So that's a decision. And then what are you doing at quarterback. I wanted to wait until we heard from drew lock or if we were going to hear from drew lock and i thought we might and it turns out that we did so vic fangio prior to practice drew's gonna do a little bit more and we'll see where we're at but here is drew. Lock himself to. Here's entire press conference for the. I think he does a good job addressing a number of things including not only how he feels. I asked him about his ribs. And how do you recover from sewer ribs. Or how do you treat that compared to say a sprained ankle. Because he had mentioned a sprained ankle he talks about the interceptions a lot. He drew a bit of an open book. And i appreciate that because he doesn't shy from hard question hard questions. He doesn't goof around more than a twenty four year. Old kid might and so. I think that it's refreshing to have someone who's not a robot that that is honest. That is confident that can show a little emotion and so i wanted to wait until you heard from drew. Lock and brown ribbon talked as well. So you hear from that kitto Because i i like everything about him and continue to think that he has a place. Here as the broncos backup for i think a long time maybe behind roommate behind somebody else. But if i've are batman i would say that it's behind drew going into next year Of course a lot can happen between now. And.

"But when you run for over two hundred yards on the ground you don't need that much from your qb. And josh jacobs. Those twenty one carries one hundred twelve yards two scores devante booker. Hey we were meant. Ram sixteen carries eighty one yards and two. Tv's as well here's drew lock postgame. I appreciate druze. Honesty and his confidence does seem to almost never a waiver. And you'll hear that. In the conversation with dave logan and then it is zoom. Post game. Presser her as well. But here's drew. Lock in a dave logan following this tough loss. Tough day at the At the job site. I guess you guys had some had some opportunities in the first half and just seemed to sorta short circuit. Just talk about what what happened in the first half that just sort of bogged you guys down a bit. Yeah it was just me. It's the same old song and dance. Just hurt ourselves on third down Anytime that you know. I mean we're below fifty percent on third downs. That's gonna be tough. You know that's gonna get you off the field and put put their car in a really good offense out there on the field. I thought defense in an awesome job. Today stop them weekly. Put them. I put them in some bad physicians in they out a couple of times the the playwright before halftime you score on the. I don't know if it's a zone read. You kept the ball. You waltz into the end zone. The holding cohen noah fant and then he come back the interception right before halftime. Tell me if you can't kind of what you saw that play. Yeah you know is the backer. Mike backer made sure he opened up and he did. And the whole defender. You know allowed me to sodium behind but it was a safety that drove on it since we were in the red zone. They don't have to worry about in beat over the top and he drove it and made the play on. It's a ball. I probably should thrown back on that play But i thought i had it knee undercut it drove on pretty well. Yup a dead horse but you have four picks today. How how do you mentally as a young player. I mean how. How do you go about or do you even know how you go about. Sort of battling through where you are right now and where this offense is right now. I know how. I've had some rough years of football in my life You know the only thing different about it is. It is professional football now. It's not college football where you know. She's a bunch of kids coming plates grown men with jobs and livelihoods in. I think that's one thing we've got to keep in mind. There's there's no quitting on this right now. there's no comment with your head down to work in our snow. United just pouting is a ton of people that would love the opportunity that we have right now. What we do and It's our job to represent the team in the state than we're doing and that can be done if we'd all come in and just keep working enough. Drew appreciate they so now. "Oh nice that's exciting. Yeah so he may be activated to play. Some players. We love and players were avoiding. I'm gonna let heath start heath. Give me someone you love this week. Yeah now why. Don't i ever know that you're going to ask me this question if you know. Why is it difficult The it's it's difficult hikes jamie. Who's the start of the week. Starting week it's chase edmonds love senate for him You know hopefully. He takes advantage of this opportunity. Kenyan drake there is some thought that he could still play this week. So keep an eye on yourself. Practice on wednesday in any event edmund says done a nice job and minimal touches. If you go back to last season there were four games. We had at least seven total touches just seven and scored fourteen and more pr points in three of those four this year. He has four games with at least eight total touches any. Has i think it's thirteen or more. Pbr points in all four of those now. imagine he gets. The eighteen was touches that kenyan drake to begets drake has got eighteen. Plus touches and five or seven games and edmonds has a chance to be an absolute monster. I was really surprised to see that Sportsline has edmonds projected as the number one running back. The last time that i had the start of the week and they had a number one player was just in herbert. As the quarterback. I forget who they played that week. it was a great matchup. Jacksonville probably jacksonville jacksonville. So i'm hoping the same thing happens because herbert was great. So edmonds. Is you know this is the you know the only the only fear i have. Is this what we said without madison backup guy gets shot and he failed. Hope edmonds does not do the same thing he is top five for both jamie and heath in yeah and for davies stopping. So start chase edmonds. He's you you good now. Yeah yeah. I love noah fant not love noah fant. He's heavily involved in the passing game in terms of target share..

NBA Draft 2019: Latest 1st-Round Order, Predictions

"And ladies and gentlemen, we have a new mock draft out Mel kiper Jr's three point. Oh is here with us. And we are looking forward to the draft. Mel will join us in just about an hour to talk about the new mock draft. But there have been some changes in the draft specifically one less quarterback. Now going in the first round then in mel's two point oh mock draft. So we have four in the two point oh mock draft with Daniel Jones from Duke rounding out of the last pick of the draft to the patriots in the first round of thirty two. There are only three quarterbacks now in the first round, according to mel's latest mock. And obviously a retirement might be a big reason why and the quarterbacks have changed as well. Right. As far as where they're they're going. Well, Cuyler he still has Tyler going number one derozan. Well in his last draft Cuyler going number thirteen to the dolphins. So now and this draft he hasn't going number one. He had. Dwayne Haskins going number six at a giant Kyle Murray. Going number thirteen to the to the dolphins. Drew lock going fifteen to the Redskins and Daniel Jones going thirty two to the patriots. So as you mentioned Daniel Jones now out of the first round, according to the latest mock draft by Mel kiper, just three quarterbacks Murray number one. The main says Dwayne Haskins at number six, and you start to hear reports that the giants may go defense was six and then was seventeen go quarterback. But right now twain Haskins at six and then drew lock sitting there at number thirteen for the dolphins. Does the only three quarterbacks in this latest first round. Yeah. Going to be very interesting because we know what the giants listen one thing. Dave Gettleman has made very clear he does not feel beholden to tell us his plan. And so I don't feel overly beholden to believe. A lot of what we're hearing coming out of the giants can't because if you've got a guy who's basic messages trust me, I got this. Well, then we understand he doesn't feel like he has to tell us the truth. So as we hear these things. Coming out. We also understand this time of year is about deception to an extent it's trying to manipulate the draft order trying to manipulate the opinions of certain players. So that you can try and put yourself in the best position to get the guys you ultimately want. So it makes it difficult to try and read the tea leaves it is although I have to say on cattlemans behalf. He said all of last spring saquon Barkley is a generational talent with the second overall pick. And that's where he went. Look, I think we all agreed. There has to be a quarterback in the giants future. Whether it's at six or seventeen trade now Cleveland, but it would not surprise me in the least if Dave Gettleman waited until the second or third round to take a quarterback this Dave Gettleman, he created that created, but he he made the term a more of a vernacular in the NFL draft hog molly's when he was the GM of the Carolina Panthers. He loves the big guys to hog mollies. And let's be honest. This draft is going to be decided outside of Kyla Murray. More than anything else about the big defensive lineman in this draft. The hog Molly is on the defensive side of the ball. So depending on your draft grades for your quarterbacks you could take one of those at six and then a quarterback at seventeen it all depends again on your on your draft great. If twain Haskins is highest on the board and draft grades. You don't pass that up. If you have a Dwayne Haskins drew lock. And whatever other quarterback equal in grades. You know, maybe use that seventeen pick baby can trade it up somehow to get one of those guys as I said, this always comes down to grades. Do. You have a choice amongst grades. Are you close enough in quarterbacks where if you don't get one you try and get the other? But we'll see we'll see, you know, one of the biggest changes in from the last two this for Mel was they had the patriots taken Daniel Jones a quarterback, and this one I serve Smith junior the tight end from Alabama going, and that would not be shocking at all you have really three out of the top tight end Hopkinson the kid from Iowa teammate, Noah Fant, and then Smith junior all three likely to go in the first round a three first round tight end to on the same team come on. And what would that tell you as we saw? The patriots jump into the first round and take a running back and Sony Michelle at the end of that. And now to see in the next year three tight ends going. We've talked about this. However, you want to split it. Last year were Quinton Nelson. Went in the top ten in the draft as an offensive guard. We saw roquan Smith going the top ten as a middle linebacker. The middle of the field is worthy. NFL is being built right now. And other teams are starting to catch up to what the patriots have done for years. The way that we've seen teams export that specific area and three tight ends in the first round would hammer that home not denying that. They are guys that are certainly probably more talented than usual tight end groups. We're used to seeing but it's also about value. It's why you see running back taking it to overall by the giants last year. I mean, the other thing is I think they're more interior linemen in this first round then quarterbacks right? Like, a not tackles guards and centers. There are more of those according to males latest mock than there are actual quarterbacks being taken which would be very unusual. So the top five in this new draft that Mel kiper put out is Kylie Murray. Number one of the cardinals Nick both the D N number two to the forty Niners. Number three. Josh Allen the outside backing backer pass rusher going to the jet number four Cornyn Williams. To the raiders and number five guy making a pretty big jump. Devon white going to Tampa Bay at five in the last mock draft he was number eleven to the Bengals now in mel's draft. He is sitting at number five number six twain Haskins seven Joon Taylor. The offense attack from Florida going to Jacksonville sweat, the D N going to the lions at eight Sean, Gary the D N going into the bills from Michigan and TJ Hopkinson. The tight end going to the Broncos at number ten. Here's here's what I wanted to talk to Mel about and one of the issues that I have laid on me big fella with with this draft comes, you know, some some point and one of them is there are few prospects in new first round projection who are making their debuts because of their combine performances. There are four guys who have jumped into mel's first round who weren't out there before again based on the combine combine performances. I don't understand that. I don't I don't understand that. If you wanna say. You looked at the combine to go back and look at tape of them. But to say, they're combine performance jumped them up that doesn't compute to me. Well, I think that's I think that's the assumption though, is because of their performance you went back and look and that. That's fair. That's why I want to ask them. How did this? Make you go back and study them more. Because if you're just basing things off the combine I got a real issue with that. Yeah. I I don't think you would do that or teams. But at the same time, you look at the positions of the majority of the players that would be involved in that. And I think this could be true for teams as well. It's interior offense. It is right. Three interior offensive linemen Terry McLaren the wide receiver, but when it comes to interior offensive lineman. You wanna talk about an area where the scouting grossly lags behind to actually great and overall draft. It's a difficult area for a lot of people to see and understand because you don't have the benefit of a lot of stats. You don't have the benefit of even the combine members necessarily always translating to production. So when those guys go and they paying and they flag in the model somewhere for what they do at the combine. And then you go back and spend some more time looking at a guy like Lindstrom who wasn't going to be a big name. He wasn't like, you know, Gary bradberry from North Carolina State won the Remington award this year. Like that guy was a stud Boston College was a middling. Okay. ACC team this year. So Lindstrom wasn't getting the credit. He deserved even being as good as he is. So you go back now, and even these NFL teams, maybe we're late to the party on some of these guys all of a sudden start giving them an extra. That's why I want to ask I just wanna make sure with Mel that because I'm just reading from the combine performance, and again, let's put a name. To those you mentioned McLaren the wide receiver who is one of the others. Chris Lynch reminder, you just mentioned from Boston College now. Number twenty one to Seattle Eric McCoy interior linemen going number twenty two to Baltimore. Right and the Garrett bradberry. The Senator from North Carolina State who is you mentioned one the Remington award is the best center in the country number thirty one to the LA Rams where they have an aging center, and John John Sullivan. And that was that was one of the things have been saying for the Rams the last couple of years that dynasties been built on the interior. If you land a guy like that good, Lord or you winning out it is. So we'll see how that plays out. Now, the one thing that I find interesting he he has drew lock the third quarterback Mel dozen his latest mock going thirteen in Miami. I'm telling you don't take out Denver at ten in Cincinnati of eleven in play for quarterbacks. I mean. Yeah. Denver made the play for Joe flacco. But John Elway has messed this up a couple of times with all due respect. I mean, that's just outside of getting Peyton Manning. He has not figured out the quarterback spot there at ten they might be in play for quarterback. And you have Andy Dalton with his situation with the Bengals and his contract situation. I, you know, I think that there's a really good chance that they could be in play with a quarterback there, by the way, by the way, Mel kiper Jr's mock draft not the biggest item related to the draft this week. That will have news for you guys. What more on that coming up later? This week

MEL Mel Kiper Jr Giants Mel Kiper Patriots Daniel Jones Dwayne Haskins Twain Haskins NFL Dave Gettleman Mel Dozen Cuyler Tj Hopkinson North Carolina Gary Bradberry Bengals John Elway Roquan Smith Peyton Manning
