"I think people view their entertainment differently than they view business, but the reality is the two are intertwined. And so if If an entertainment product is not profitable, then the entertainment products ceases to exist. So you know with regard TMA. The show has a loyal following and has loyal advertisers and we're very comfortable in saying that we could build on that and grow it and I. Feel I feel that way with regarding to building beyond that. So you know that excites me that me up at the same time. There is a real good chance that I am not here and I am doing a show completely separate from Doug and Pete Nikki You know who knows soon so That's all in play to I suppose but from my standpoint I know that I would like to have the opportunity to build that excites. Me I know that is where. pitas Yup I, WANNA build. That's that's that's been something. Pete. Told me ever since we sat down for lunch and like July or August two, thousand eighteen. So that is what that's what gets me going. I think the things that I have hesitation about outside of anything regarding the economy. Are that the because I've been there before been in the chair before is the getting the blame for you have nothing to do with. But that comes with any time you're into the chair whether it's radio or otherwise. So if you want the good shit, you have to understand that the badge should comes with it and that's just part of the deal and I just have to handle it and deal with it and that's That's part of the responsibility and that's fine and then there are unforeseen things and you deal with that just like any other business nothing different there. It's just the one thing that's different. 'cause I would sometimes be Saint Goddesses so. fucking. Miserable, I'd be bitching to whomever. And I. Remember My Dad, you know having done sales and worked immedi all's life but albeit you know sales. Tammy I know I've been there and I go I you know what you have. But you have you haven't been in the public part of it and usually if you're being written about you're either making so much money, you don't even fucking care or their statistics nuance finding I'm not doing this. I hit three twenty. So go fuck yourself or I making. Three or thirty million dollar deals go fuck yourself or I just don't fucking care if someone a three or thirty million dollar deal. Or, you're in politics, which means somebody else is going to be writing a good thing in you know either representing the truth or you know or do whatever misdirecting shit to support you because you're on their side. And we're in a weird spot of not necessarily having either one of those things going but yet it it's titillating like a gossip thing. And that's you know that's that's something that I think you probably see me not want to necessarily engage in should any of this stuff come to fruition? So anyway I hope I answered the question even though I didn't give you my line up because I don't know what the lineup would be I honestly I don't even know we're GONNA have. this conversation happened this conversation but since people ask about it and it's like I, don't know if I can ask about it. Can you talk about? I, want to give you something on it. So there it is Thank you designer heating and cooling I. Don't know where matter we are unaware.

"Nurse Tori Welcome to the woman. I'm so happy to finally have you on here. Oh my gosh. Danny, thank you so much for having me I. I'm thrilled I'm excited. When I message like I've been missing the nick you can. We discussed and having Nikki episode, and of course, you were like Hell Yeah let's do it. Please I love it. I'm so excited reminisce about Nikki life plus it's Nikki awareness month which I didn't know of and I feel very ashamed of myself made twelve years and the. Only. Thing it's not you know I think it was established. Let's say I don't know couple of years ago. For making. Thank you. Know it's become a thing love so Well, that's amazing because I know we had like a Nikki nurse day right around there like okay. Hers also, November, which is like free maturity awareness month. So we're kind of all over the place just establishing Mon- says everything CAPEX. Nikki. Nurse. Day there's also I wanNA see. There's like now they're kind of breaking down day in. September. For the end of the month like twenty, seven, Twenty, eight, twenty, nine all are dedicated to different aspects of the nick you so. Love that. Yeah, it's pretty neat. It's special. So this is actually really cool. It's a cool month for late I would say the nurses, the doctors, the RT's, and then also courts the families and. The pass babies or pass patients than accused of reminisce and yeah. So like every year mild hospital would have a day where all the parents could come who had lost a child in the nick you and then they have like like. Not like a religious but like kind of like a reunion like A. Goodwill prayer you know type thing and you know some of the nurses could go down and like the families could go and like reunite with them. Does your hospital do anything like that? Yes. Oh, a couple of different hassles I worked have done things like that. I would say the most consistent thing I've seen that most hostels do and participate in is the march of dimes. Yes. Where you can do that some hustles will have separate time to do a reunion but the is a pretty condescending where you know we could raise funds or a walk and kind of I would say the one big time that we do our hustle also does do. It's a walk in the park and dots because we're near. Disneyland. Rona we were able to do it where. And nurses and doctors who ever wanted to go could go do walk in the park together and it sort of like a day to remember everything and should be together and so that's actually a pretty cool things well so. That's so lovely. Yeah, it's really special. I. Mean. Especially when you are, you know working with these families as you know for up to in the nick you up to a year really or more. Yeah. Exactly be restocked relationships you know yeah, and I feel like. That's kind of one of the things that really sets and Nick you apart from working in other areas of the hospital. Yeah I would agree even having some more recently I was working as a critical care. Nurse so I was working. Hickey NICU'S TV ICU arcologies. And it was a really interesting interesting thing to see the differences in the dynamics of the unit. So for example. I would say sort of. A, little bit more like that. Fast. Like you're you're out they you know primarily drink surgeries console. It's very fast paced. It's different or traumas and things like that. Is Nick you you know we really do have not long-term relationship. I would say similarly oftentimes on college, we'll have kind of relationship with their patients while actually. So that's true. That's true.

Interview with George Varanakis of The Portrait Masters

"Welcome back to another episode I am your host Frederick Ben Johnson today. Once again on the hot seat, I have my good friend. Mr George Very. You may have heard his name in the industry. He's he's got or had fingers in all corners of the photography industry that didn't come out right but. Just. Men involved with everything photography. If you don't know his name, you probably have been to an event that he's been. Behind. Trains on. All that stuff. So George here talk about. What are we talking about the Porch Masters Live? This is your last greatest you like you just like attempting really hard projects and. Hitting home runs apparently. So this one was obviously. Cova head and we had our original conference which was going to be in Phoenix Arizona September ninth through the twelfth we had to make a big decision and it was okay. Do we just not do anything this year or do we try to do our virtual conference if you will I don't really love the virtual name I was like call it digital conference that's just me but yeah. We made that decision and moved back our dates a little bit. So we are September first of the twenty third three days we've got so much content some amazing content. We're doing things a little bit differently than I think what a lot of lot of the. Virtual trade show conferences. You'll see out there in the photo industry or just overall We went out this a little bit differently in that we prerecorded everything and not like prerecord Webcam or zoom kinda thing we prerecorded like shootouts and we had people at our studio We had people at Peter Hurley Studio in New York shooting, and so we've got these amazing shootout through Canon Sony and pro photo. We've got keynote speakers like a tab of the coffee from her famous Bravo show. She is one of our keynotes and she's just incredible Her brother show was Tabitha takes over. We've got mark seller. WHO's one of the most amazing photographers on the planet. You he's done countless numbers of covers for Cube, fair the role I think he's got he's done over one hundred rolling stone cover so I'm really excited of our lineup and we're GONNA do this in a really fun way. It's GonNa be really fun over the three days that we're doing this. We've got kind of a trade show section. We've got a content section. We're GONNA be giving away a ton of stuff and that sue it Nikki closer will be live here in the studio Kinda just introducing a all the classes sue out was just decided a couple of minutes ago. WHO's GonNa do for closing keynote keynote live so we're so most of it is prerecorded, we will have live host, but the content that's come out of this is off the charts I'm really excited. In you when you say you're talking about sue brice. Right, yes? Yes right. These Subaru you should put it in front of her name. Yeah. you WANNA have you set the stage on just a portrait masters for the folks that may not have heard about the conference? What what so Thank you for inviting me to the last one I was I was there in Arizona. Last. Yeah. It was. It was that's the word. It was a blast. Folks that may not have heard of the conference described what what this sort of you know the the soul of the conference is intended to be win it's real versus now when. Virtual or digital doesn't it seem like that was ten years ago. Does right. It's I feel twenty years older I, know. Like as my hair. So the Portrait Masters Conference, it's really a boutique conference in that we have only we cap it at five hundred people We have only nine speakers, one stage, one room. There's no breakout classes we really tried to simplify it and we wanted to give people inexperienced that they never forget. So we added so many different things to this conference that you won't see at other places. For example, we put shooting days in the. Trade show. So some of which are sponsored can have a couple of shooting base Pro Photo will have a couple of shooting bays and basically, and we do a bunch of our own. So basically, it's a model backdrop lighting and you just go and shoot and people went absolutely crazy fort when we when we launched it at it, really we kind of created like a Disneyland photographers almost where you could go in. You could talk to the vendors you could shoot, you could touch. You could feel kind of the things that we love about trade shows. Right you have that opportunity to to touch feel products but also like you could read a camera camera body from any of the vendors, the camera houses and Kinda go around the show and and shoot the networking part of it, which this is one that suit came up with but a red ribbon for someone that hadn't been there to our conference. Before if you're wearing a red ribbon, it was to show everybody else. Hey, come say hi and their brand new they don't know anybody and it was. Just, it ended up being such an incredible experience for people because you go to a trade show, you thought the Portrait Masters amazing show that you wanted to go to it's it's an expensive ticket it's eighteen hundred dollars, but it includes all your your meals, and some other things that we we do. But for the Red Ribbon, it's just amazing 'cause I've I saw a dozen times people just may be sitting by themselves or walking by themselves and other attendants would go and say, hey, how are you come sit with me and and it was just that networking part that that really kind of came out of it, which is really cool.

"Because that's the next chapter in your story, you can swing by the second floor and having signed if you'd like to. All right. So Brady Nikki. All the way from down the hall. Paid off. Twenty thousand, nine months. Making. Less are making more than they spent. Let's hear it. Let's hear your debt free scream. Three two one where. You know John. One of the things I like about what? Nikki said was not naked but Brady said one of our team members he said that their trading their future for comfort today and key things. I'm always teaching people especially due out my tribe in Omaha megaphones is that do not allow your comfort zone to become your kill zone. Don't let the very same thing. They're comfortable to do today be the very same thing that kills your dreams that kills your vision for tomorrow, and we can clearly see from Brady and Nikki their future is going to be better because they were willing to be uncomfortable and they're uncomfortable was we're gonNA live below armies. If we make thousand dollars a month, we're GONNA live. Off a six hundred dollars and put the extra four hundred dollars to wars are dead so that in the future we can say, yes, to our goes to our dreams we could buy the things that we won. So America hope you're hearing and I hope every young person who was a millennial who's in your twenties who's in their thirties are listening to this young couple. With Jockstrap-Scented Candles, Babe Wine Wants to Bring the NFL Home

"Wouldn't want to spend twenty nine dollars on a candle that smells like a jockstrap well, plenty of people. But Hey, if that's your thing now you can babe wind. The official wine of the NFL has launched a line of Senate. Candles intended to bring the entire football experience including the locker room into your home. The twenty twenty NFL season kicked off last Thursday night, and with only a few exceptions, fans can't be there in person this year. So what better way to experience the joys of life football from the sweaty jock straps to the smell of overpriced eighteen dollar Nachos then to invest in Sports Senate Kennels at least. So goes the thinking of the marketing folks at bay wine babe is a can wine owned by anheuser Busch inbev parent company. Of Budweiser, when founder Josh Ostrovsky started the company back in Twenty fifteen it was his goal to make babe the bud light of the wine world know Somalia needed here guys behind the cheeky ads. Is a strategy intended to pump up online sales and the funny bones of Anheuser Busch's most coveted hard to win over market of millennials. As we've reported here before beer sales have been flat lining for some time younger drinkers in particular are increasingly turning the cocktails hard seltzer wine and wine spritzers although it's still the tiniest of all spirits, categories, sales of canned wine or bubbling over over the twelve months ending this June off premises canned wine sales grew by almost eighty percent according to Nielsen off premises. Sales are all those purchased outside bars and restaurants by the way clearly where all the action has been happening the last six months. All these stats are serious business for Babe wines huge parents searching as it is for ways to continue growing as its core product beer struggles. But let's go back to the locker room. Shall we examined the connection between Anheuser Busch's falling beer sales and candles that smell like musk and men's deodorant? Well, no one's buying the bud light of wine for the way it's grapes are grown now they're buying it 'cause babe wine is an instagram hit Ostrovsky is better known by his instagram handle the fat Jewish. He has ten million followers. The brand has one hundred, eighty thousand. So far Ostrovsky is nothing if not both funny and provocative, the brand partnered with dating out, bumble this summer to pay the moving costs to people sick of the X.'s they got stuck living with during the pandemic the two companies mocked up a bright pink truck emblazoned with the sign, your XS canceled babe and Bumbler here to help you move on literally. To enter the contest participants needed to what else tag themselves on the Instagram Post like the signature background in all of its ads, babes, stunts, or designed for instagram especially to attract younger women market anheuser-busch fervently wants to grow. If it's not obvious by now the candles themselves may makes some money. You can buy all three for sixty nine dollars, but they're primarily an attention getting device it to get you to stop scrolling in hit the buy button on a box of canned rose eh read or Pino Griego it's online marketing shrewd. You might say but it's not like babe wind has the wind can market to itself. There are at least one hundred brands of canned wine as makers scrambled to get a sip of this growing market while no single brand stands out as the most popular one that poses a challenge to babe wine is yes. Way Rosa like babe wine. Yes. Way Rosie was launched on Instagram in two thousand thirteen friends Eric Blumenthal and Nikki Hugo near started as an instagram account celebrating Rosie wine. Selling actual y came later the fashion editor and art director soon had a hit on their hands in twenty eighteen there bottled Rosa caught on at target just this year they began selling their grenache blandon Pastel pink cans. Yes Way Rosa doesn't have the NFL stamp of approval minds you but with almost no one in the stands that stadium branding is far less valuable than it would have been pre pandemic and that gives the women behind Guess Way Rosaiah a lot more runway. But they're going to have to come up with something pretty startling to steal attention back for turf, Nacho and. jockstrap scented candles.

Self-Advocacy Through Storytelling with Katie Vigos, RN

"Welcome back to the moment everybody I am speaking with Katie Vigo's today she is a registered nurse and founder of the empowered birth project. I'm so excited to speak with you today we've had a few technical difficulties in hopefully those stay at bay now but yeah, welcome to the woman. I'm so glad we finally got you on. Thank you so much for having me. I'm excited for our conversation you work in Icu Poe right now correct yes. That's right. Critical Care is still my primary specialty the moment. Love that when did you know you want it to be a nurse led you to this field? I've always been interested in anatomy and physiology as a kid I found the human body to. Be. So fascinating and I was just drawn to those sciences and when I was a senior in high school my offered a free course to become certified as a CNA nursing assistant, and so I immediately saw Kinda, this golden opportunity to get certified to start working in this field that I'd always been interested in. So I took a class and then got my first job working in skilled nursing facility and I've pretty much never stopped. I love. That's the thing that's basically the road I talk to you like I. Well, I knew I wanted to be a nurse but like as soon as I could take that scene a course I did that a great way to get started. A it definitely will introduce you to to see if you can handle being around that much bodily fluid. That will particular job was like probably the most backbreaking Labor I've ever done in my life. Yeah. Yeah. All have only gone up hill from there their gotten better from there that was so hard. I was too young and inexperienced to even know any better I was just excited to be working in. You know getting started with my career yeah. One hundred percent I mean I started working on a med surge floor and I literally never been in more pain in my life than when I would come home from working. At. A shift there. I have so much respect for MED surge nurses. I S honestly think it's harder in many ways that what to do in critical care respect for floor nursing same same I ended up in the Nikki I've had enough of adults like I can't. I can't move them. No, it's. It's physically, very challenging. Mentally emotionally, spiritually challenging job it requires like our whole being so he has. Yes people. Yeah. What is life and free since the pandemic started with working still being in the ICU I it's you know it's been a roller coaster I at the time that Kobe really started to hit the United States where we went on lockdown here. In California, I was on a full time loan to cardiovascular is you which was a challenging assignment, but I took it because I wanted you know some fulltime work for a few months and I was just a few weeks instead assignment and starting to feel a little bit more comfortable, and because I was per diem and because all almost all elective non emergent surgeries completely stopped onus unindicted unit was way overstaffed and they're like, well we. Don't need you any more sorry and I was like, okay. So I lost that Gig and then I had been working in outpatient surgery as well with a facility for three years and back completely shut down. So ironically I was kind of gearing up in those early weeks. I'm like all right here we go. Like I've been training my whole life for this and I was it just didn't play out the way I expected a now a sudden I'm worried about you know getting enough work as I in pandemic. And there are a lot of reasons for that that you know I'm sure you're aware of many people listening are aware of, but you know the per diem crowd got hit hard and everything just shifted around so quickly and then it was like travel nurses coming in, you know my co workers are you know leaving and getting work elsewhere because they can't Get at our hospital and it just felt so chaotic and uncertain, and I have had also been working for the private sector for the last eight or nine years here in Los Angeles Oh come on a lot of pride in doing her thing and so I'm really networked into that field as well here and so I was able to just hustle in. Find some private work and just like piecing everything together like a lot of us per diem nurses are good at doing you know. Yeah. So I was able to get through you know kind of those early months and then things started to pick up again at my hospital and so now that I'm able to work more kind of back mostly full in the ICU again, doing some a private work as well and aside it's it's changed everything I mean regardless of where we work like. Especially, at first like the policies and procedures were just changing daily, you know as mere figuring out the best ways to protect ourselves, screen all of our patients and everything, and so that was overwhelming to keep up with, and for example, I was floated to. Telemetry one day at a unit I. Believe once before come on shift and I have a patient who is like in basically in respiratory distress did not like the level of a rapid response per se. But like he's on iphone as will Kanye like eighty percent like fifty liters or something like that, and you know he has tech Nick and all this stuff and I'm just like, are we going to test this guy for covert like your and? where's PP P now, as I kinda, don't want to go in the room unless I have that, and then I really had to advocate for myself and be like you know, let's test this guy that was before my hus-, my husband's testing everybody. But like those early weeks were really stressful that way because there are so many unknowns and it was it was scary to walk into work which previously was familiar and comfortable to me is an experienced nurse and two now just feel. So on edge

Republican Jewish Coalition official makes the Jewish case for the Republican party

"As the Republican National Convention dominated the news this week I sat down with Matt Brooks the Executive Director of the Republican Jewish coalition to hear him make the Jewish case for the Republican. Party. Just a reminder AJC is a five. Oh, one C. Three, not for profit organization that neither endorses nor opposes candidates for Elective Office Matt. Thank you so much for joining US Saffy. It's great to be with you. Thanks for having me AJC held a series of virtual programs last week at the Democratic National Convention and we're doing the same this week alongside the RNC you spoke at. An Age RNC program yesterday and you guaranteed the Donald Trump will win a larger percentage of Jewish vote in two thousand twenty than he did in two thousand sixteen. What makes you so confident of that first of all, my understanding of the politics of the Jewish community I've been doing this job for thirty years. So I think I have a very good feel for the Jewish community. But then the most important reason is to look at the record of this president There is no question that he has been without a doubt, the most pro Israel president ever in history. That's not coming just from Matt Brooks, but it's coming from people like the prime, minister of Israel has said as much in the Oval Office in meeting with them. So there's a reason why fifty six percent of the Israelis who were polled in a recent poll would like to see president trump reelected and only sixteen percent. WanNa see Joe Biden reelected because they understand that this president is absolutely transformed the US's relationship beyond that Steph. Touch on domestic issues I think people in the Jewish community are deeply concerned about what's happening in our big cities whether it's Portland Seattle New, York, the lawlessness, the rioting, the efforts by the left wing progressives in the Democratic Party who want to defend the police. I. Think People in the Jewish community understand that president trump giving his incredible track record. Pre covid is the best person to revitalize our economy postcode and also recreate and bring back all the jobs that were lost as a result of this pandemic. So I think there's a wide range. Of issues that both foreign and domestic that to me give me great confidence to have my back moment point into the stands and guarantee that this president will do better among Jewish voters and twenty twenty than he did in two thousand sixteen was the Yankee Fan I. Appreciate any reference to Babe Ruth let me just follow up on that though you pivoted and spoke about domestic issues at the end, which obviously are very important. You started out with Israel though I'm curious does the RJ see any kind of polling or anything like that indicates that the? Percentage of American Jews do vote based on. Israel. My sense is generally not at top issue for American Jews. So we do have extensive polling and we're very data driven in our messaging and how we look at the races you know, I think your point is well taken but you know elections and campaigns about mosaics. It's about putting pieces of the puzzle together. It's not just one issue. There is definitely a segment of the Jewish community that does care about Israel we're going to appeal to them. There's definitely a segment of the Jewish community that appealed issues. Like school choice we're going to appeal to them. There's definitely segments of the Jewish community the care about the issue of defunding the police and having law and order in our streets in protecting us against anti-semitism. So we're GONNA have various messages targeted to various constituencies within the Jewish community. Our community as you well know is not monolithic. So to say that there is one issue that's gonNA drive the Jewish vote would be a mistake but I think we have enough experience and expertise in this arena to make sure that we're serving up the right messages. One issue that you just mentioned Matt is is Antisemitism Joe. Biden actually laid the cornerstone of his campaign on President Trump's comments after the unite the right rally in Charlottesville in his video announcing his candidacy, and then again last week when he accepted the nomination, vice president. Biden cited the president's very fine people on both sides comment at which he saw as excusing anti Semitism he cited those comments as motivating him to get into the race to beat the president. How would you want Jewish voters to think about those comments? Well, I, mean, that's going to be part of our task and we've had several events both with Nikki Haley Mark Levin with Senator Ted Cruz just this last Sunday night you know in which we've talked about that there is a mythology that has taken hold by the Democrats to try and create a false narrative that the president Or somehow tried to give support to white nationalist. If anybody takes a step back reads the entire transcript and admittedly I wish he had been clearer and less awkward in his original remarks when we put out a statement to that effect. But if you read a few sentences before and a few sentences after very fine people on both sides, it's very clear that the president strongly condemns White Nationalist Neo Nazis, and you know it is absolutely unambiguous also to some of his other speeches in actions you go back and look right after the tree of life synagogue tragedy he gave a speech that day to the future farmers of America No. President no president go back and take a look at the record, and you'll agree if you read the opening speech, no president has ever condemned anti-semitism and planted a flag about us and our strong commitment to fight anti-semitism wherever it raises its ugly head, and then obviously you look at what the president did it on his executive order to help protect students on college campuses who have been the victims of anti-semitism and I will tell you time and time. Again, this president has by action demonstrated his commitment, not only to condemn white. Nationalist Neo. Nazis. But also to stand up and take strong stands against the rising antisemitism in this country.

Frost Protection

"GonNa talk about what you can do if an early freeze is predicted for your area. Now, that may seem hard to imagine right now at the end of August where it's hot and Sweaty, but the fact is next month. Those temperatures are going to start going down and depending on where you garden. You might have some very chilly nights. and. If you're not ready to up on your growing season, there are a couple of things that you can do. That's right now our friend. Nikki Deboer, she lives up in Nova Scotia, and it's a fellow garden communicator and chase sort of has a specialty of extending the season. So you should look for Nikki's book about Extending Your Garden, harvest if you're interested in you live in a cold place. Candida or northern Wisconsin or Minnesota, and all these places that get cold early, this is the time to kind of get prepared if you are an in a location where it's possible for you to have a frost in September and your garden is still producing well, this is the time to get prepared and I would say one of the first things to do is to have on hand some of the non woven fabric such as harvest. Guard, there are several non woven white fabrics. They're breathable water goes through light goes through and they make a good protection for plants whether they are put over hoops in a garden to keep them up off the plant or whether you drape them just right over the plan at the last minute because dear, you've seen the forecast and I've got to do something you can just drop them right over I think they are more effective if you. Can Get some airspace in between the plant and the top of the fabric? And another method that you can use if you're in a rural area and have easy access to Hay bales is to line up some Hay bales on both sides of your row or on the edges of your raised beds and then stretch the. Non Woven fabric over the Hay bales, and that makes kind of a little shelter that's insulated undecideds and covered on the top. Yeah and you can just peel back that cloth during the day if you want to when it warms up and then and then lay down again at night now I know the first time. I heard about this I thought how can that tiny little lightweight piece of cloth do anything to protect my plants? It just didn't make sense to me. It wasn't believable didn't seem possible. But it actually does work. Now do you have any idea C l? If it's going to be. Twenty in your garden, it might not work if it's going to be twenty eight in your garden, it might be enough. Do you have any idea how many degrees worth of protection this could actually give you I think it. It really does vary. It varies first of all as to when you put it on if you put it on earlier in the day, it traps some heat in the soil actually it. So it can help hold heat in the soil, which is then released at night and it's not just the fabric. That's holding some heat in, but it's also the fact that the fabric has helped the heat build up in that area during the day. So so I don't know specific degrees than I. Do think it depends on the airspace. How big is it depends on how much soil is exposed and it depends on when you put that covering on in order to help the greenhouse effect that's going on there. Well, it's a great way to extend your growing season's certainly at the end of the season and if some of you have. Decided to take territorial up on their discount offer and you've ordered the seeds that you WanNa plant for your fall and winter growing. This is a technique you are definitely going to want to take advantage of

VP Mike Pence headlines the third night of Republican National Convention

"The Republicans have begun their videotape programming on night. Three of their convention. Senators, congressmen, White House aides and advisors are all standing by, as is Vice President. Mike Pence the headliner tonight. ABC News Political director. Recline is here with US four years ago, Pence was a rather important connection for Donald Trump with evangelical leaders. That message seems to have been reinforced so far this week. Is he still play that crucial role? Hey, is critical in understanding the appeal that Donald Trump has and has maintained among evangelicals and a lot of baseline of conservatives. He is adept at translating trumpism into conservatism like few others he never, I would say never has broken publicly with the president. Even the slightest way. He has been as loyal a foot soldier in the Trump Army as there is and I gotta tell you, they're not a few people around Washington and beyond, who are surprised in this night is coming. Ah, lot of folks even as recently as a week or two ago were convinced that Donald Trump would dump Mike Pence in favor of maybe Nikki Haley we heard from earlier in the week that has not happened. He's stuck with his man. Hey, they didn't have much of a relationship before uniting in the general election four years ago, But man that is a powerful partnership that we're going to see on display, even if he is in the most scintillating of speakers. And even isn't very trump is Trump pissed himself. He's ability to describe what Donald Trump means. And what he represents is unparalleled. Hey, is also of late been leading the Corona Virus Task force. We haven't heard much about the virus during this convention. Will we hear anymore from pence, and if so, what's he going to say? I wouldn't be surprised if we hear from him. I think we're going to hear about his view. The president strong leadership is he sees talk publicly, many times about it that was viewed as almost Ah can't win task that he was given six months or so ago. Mike Pence. Mice come under criticism for how he's led the task force. Maybe too much of a consensus builder is kind of a buzz on him, has shut out the voices along the way. But he has maintained the president's loyalty and I think you're going to hear a lot about, uh well, he likes to call it the big heart and broad shoulders of the president of ABC News. Political director recline Let me pull Justin Gomez into the conversation. He covers the Trump Pence reelection campaign for us What's the nature of Pence's role? He's of late been all over the country. Yeah, that's right for the Trump campaign. It's been the vice president That's been on the road at these campaign events, really just trying to get their base excited and and deliver the president's message while he's been taking care of business here in Washington. We've seen Pence out there talking to voters in a lot of battleground states. He's been to Wisconsin has been to Arizona. He'll be going to Michigan and Minnesota on Friday, right after the RNC wraps up. So you know, for the most part lately, Pence has been there go to person on the road, and he really connects with voters out there. They see him and for a lot of, you know, maybe not diehard Trump Ian's, but you know the the old fashioned conservatives. They can really relate to Mike Pence and he has a is a great way of delivering the message is Rick was saying when you hear Trump? He doesn't break from Trump when you he can. He can Deliver Trump's message without you know all the exciting words that we sometimes hear from President Trump, whether they be inflammatory or or something else that we hear from the President Mike Pence will stay in line with the president. But he will deliver it in a softer tone without breaking ranks from the president. So you know, for now he's their go to person on the trail, and he's goingto pick it right back up after the prince he's done. Justin is Karen Travers here, based on what you've seen from Mike Pence out on the campaign trail as it is right now, what should we be looking for tonight? What issues do you think he'll most emphasizes? He talks about the record and the look toward a potential second term. I know it's gonna be interesting to see how he portrays the corona virus responses. Rick was saying, You know, he's the lead of the Corona virus task Force since February, and there's been stumbles along the way he there's been a lot of missteps. And there's been signs that have been missed and things that they could have done better. Um, so it'll be interesting to see what he says about that in their response, but you're also going to see him, You know, we know he's going to talk a little bit about policy, and that's something that we've been missing lately from the Trump campaign, as you know what kind of policy they want to set forward in a second term. So it'll be interesting to see what he has to offer as faras policy announcements in his speech today, But you know it's Mike Pence, and he's a He's a man of faith, So expect Probably some talk about religion in there. He loves to say his campaign events it wrapping up for for all the voters to, you know, bend a knee and bow the head and say a prayer for them. So probably a line along along that tonight. And I know it's gonna be. It's gonna be a lot of a lot of policy talk. I think from Pence he has something to deliver tonight.

The South Asian Identity In The Current Political Moment

"To prime spots at the political conventions went to two Indian American women Nikki Haley and Kamala Harris, who each leaned into their South Asian immigrant identity and their speeches. Here's Haley, former U. S ambassador to the U. N kicking off the Republican National Convention yesterday. This is personal for me. I am the proud daughter of Indian immigrants. They came to America and settled in a small southern town. My father wore a turban. My mother wore sari. Meanwhile, last week while accepting the Democratic nomination for Vice President, Kamala Harris thanked her mother for raising her to be proud of her Indian heritage. We're here to talk through this moment for South Asian Americans in American politics is Kartik Rama Krishnan. He's a professor of public policy at U C. Riverside. Hey, they're welcome. Thank you for having me so to conventions to women, speaking about their families and their upbringing, with so many Americans watching what these two moments represent, do you think It's a pretty remarkable moment. When you look at the Indian American population. It has grown tremendously in the last two decades, of course, in the case of comely Harris and Nikki Haley They were born and you know, the 19 sixties and early 19 seventies. So you know they've been part of a prior wave of Indian American migration. But still, the vast majority of Indian Americans have arrived in the United States since 1965. And it's remarkable to see how quickly the next generation has come up in politics and how big a deal is their national political political prominence for The South Asian community here in the states. This is a big deal. I mean, what you've seen, for example, is more and more Indian Americans running for office. So you have the so called Samosa Caucus, which had five Indian American members of Congress If you include the House and the Senate after 2018 I think what you're going to see now and especially with Harris. His candidacy is even more people getting inspired more Indian American South Asians more generally, and especially Asian American women feeling inspired to run for office and I think the same you're probably going to see on the Republican side, although When you look at candidates running for office where Indian American, the vast majority of them tend to be Democrat rather than Republican. Well, I was just about to ask is we hear so much about Latino voters? Black voters, other groups. I was going to ask which way understanding is hardly monolithic, but which way South Asian voters tend to lean in and how big a role they could play in 2020. The South Asian voters tend to lean Democrat and pretty heavily Democrat. One way to think about this is that they tend to be the most Democrat leaning either in terms of their party identification or presidential vote choice among all of the Asian American groups on DH there, Lina stronger than among Latinos but less strong than among African Americans. So that's a kind of good benchmark. Now there has been a lot of out its by the Trump administration. So President Trump had a rally in Houston called Howdy movie Rally with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He made a high profile trip to India this year as well. That said, it's really going to be hard to shift in the American voters and other South Asians given their partisan lean and also where they stand on the issues and on most issues like health care and immigration. And gun control in the environment. They tend to be progressive, so it's going to be a group that's going to be very difficult to dislodge from the Democratic column that was Professor Kartik Ramakrishnan of UC Riverside talking about the Indian American vote. It's about 1.8 million Indian Americans who will be eligible to vote in this coming November's election.

"Of the Republican National Convention feature. The GOP's defense of President Trump's job performance and a dark version of America during a Biden presidency, K Y W tym him and, as has more, including what to featured speakers had to say. South Carolina Senator Tim Scott closed night won the first African American senator from a southern state since reconstruction. Offered a more optimistic tone, saying the election isn't just about Donald Trump and Joe Biden. It's about the promise of America. But he says there's a key difference between right and left. Do we want a society that breeds success or a culture that cancels everything? It even slightly disagrees with a scaled down convention because of the pandemic, and his Democrats hammered the president's job last week. Republicans, like former U N Ambassador Nikki Haley are standing by him. President Trump brought our economy back before and he will bring it back again. Other speakers like Donald Trump Jr on the ST Louis couple that pointed guns at peaceful protesters marching in front there home, talked about lawlessness and continued unrest if biting winds. Republican National Convention day 1 takes aim at Democrats

"One of the Republican National Convention taking aim of Democrats for progressive policies. Night One of the GOP convention turned into an all out verbal assault on Joe Biden and the Democrat Joe Biden is good for Iran and Isis. Great for Communist China, no matter who the speaker Wass, Nikki Haley or Tim Scott job by then, and Kamala Harris won a Cultural Revolution or the president's son, Donald Trump Jr. Joe Biden. Entire economic platform seems designed to crush the working man and woman. The message was the same electro Biden and the country will suffer. One of the most blistering attacks came from former TV personality and the girlfriend of Donald Trump Jr. Kimberly Guilfoyle. They want to steal your liberty, your freedom. They want to control what you see and think on, but leaves so that they can control how you live. President Trump made a taped appearance during last night's presentation. He met with a number of former hostages. Thank you all for being with us. We have a few more people. We want to get back and we will get them back and they will be back very soon Tonight. The attacks are Expected to continue. Speakers will include first Lady Melania Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, CBS News correspondent Steve Futterman

Nikki Haley: US 'is not a racist country'

"Burning their primetime convention with dark warnings about America's future if the president's not reelected, While two of the Republican Party's rising stars, both of color offered an optimistic view of the president's leadership, they cast him as a protector of religious freedom. The nation's workers and Maura former U N Ambassador Nikki Haley, recounting all states like her native South Carolina have rebounded from Racist violence. As she said, quote in much of the Democratic Party, It's now fashionable to say that America is racist. That Is a lie. America is not a racist country. This is personal for me. I am the proud daughter of Indian immigrants. They came to America and settled in a small southern town. My father wore a turban. My mother wore sari. I was a brown girl in a black and white world. We faced discrimination and hardship, but my parents never gave in to agreements and hate. The American people know we could do better. And of course we value and respect every black life. The black cops who've been shot in the line of duty. They matter the black small business owners who've watched their life's work go up in flames, they matter. The black kids who've been gunned down on the playground, their lives matter to our state came face to face with evil. A white supremacist walked into Mother Emanuel Church during Bible study. 12 African Americans. Pulled up a chair. And prayed with him for an hour. Then he began to shoot. After that horrific tragedy. We didn't turn against each other. We came together black and White, Democrat and Republican together. We made the hard choices. Needed to heal and removed a divisive symbol peacefully and respectfully. What happened then should give us hope now. America isn't perfect, but the principles we hold dear, are perfect. At RNC, Republicans paint dark picture of future if Trump loses

"Republicans spent most of their convention evening one painting, a dark picture of life. If a Democrat specifically, one named Joe Biden wins the White House back with us tonight to talk about what it is. We have just witnessed Claire mccaskill former Democratic senator from the Great State of Missouri, which might have been referenced once or twice during Tonight's program, our own Lawrence O'Donnell host the ten pm eastern our on this network, of course, and David Jolly former Republican member of Congress from the State of Florida who has since left the house and his political party but he has not turned his back on the state of Florida clear I'd like to begin with you. In terms of tone and substance, and the the kind of takeaway feeling you got after a night like tonight. You know this is the presidency of lies in this was a couple hours of lies. Mostly about Joe Biden is and his policies but also lies about Kobe and lies about healthcare and is you know the thing that rovings it really struck me Brian was the nerve they had of telling immigrants stories tonight Nikki Haley talking about being her parents in immigration Maximo Alvarez from Cuba. Who came here in an asylum situation from Cuba seeking freedom, and then maybe the most unbelievable is all the two women from Guatemala. Selling honey. You have to understand that children from Waddell Malo were ripped from their families arms. and. On purpose this is this is a presidency that has shut the door slam the door on people like this, and so the idea I mean I can't decide which was weirder them having the mccloskey's Vilnai's black people or and then having Tim Scott doing the keynote or a presidency that has been so bad on immigration trying to feature immigrants as part of his story. David Jolly. What do you recognize from your former party we heard. Kimberly Guilfoil. Speech in an empty room tonight saying that Joe Biden is out to destroy America her life partner Dj Tj. Trotted out a new nickname. Beijing Biden tonight because apparently. Nicknames are genetic So, wh. What did you make of what you saw tonight? I bring a different set of ears to this perhaps than senator mccaskill, just give him my my past partisan affiliation and what I would say is from a messaging standpoint, there were some very effective moments and I think maximum Maximo Alvarez speech was ineffective one I think the policy elements of Tim. Scott's were effective I thought Vernon Jones the democratic state REP from Georgia at a very effective message and to certain extent Herschel. Walker. But but then there are two things that kind of trample on that I as you mentioned is is kind of the Colt like narrative. That is all things trump for Matt, gaetz saying MS thirteen moving in next door to Charlie kirks screed on terrorism to Kim, Gulf Oil's. american-carnage reductions if you will all of those elements trampled on what would have otherwise been a fairly normal message to expect from an RMC. But the other thing it requires is for you to suspend the past three years of reality to the senators point the separating moms from children, the abandonment, of NATO, a president who was impeached for trying to cheat the American people in the upcoming election president who want. Release his tax returns who's been named as a co-conspirator in a federal crime in the Southern District of New York it requires the listener to suspend all of those moments that we know are actually the real trump administration and the trump presidency. So unfortunately, look, there were many moments made for TV that we're effective, but they will be lost in the greater trump. Trump is a cult that will ultimately define this convention. Lawrence O'Donnell a bit of darkness on the edge of town in the midst of a pandemic, an unmistakable message that they're coming for you. That's one of the messages and Brian. We try to evaluate the effectiveness of a night like this or any that is this week we have to ask ourselves how long or how much of this did the undecided voter watch and the underside voter watch with very little of these things and some usually they don't watch it at all. So it has zero effect. If all it's doing is reinforcing the votes you already house and so if you think about what was said, tonight, that could appeal to someone who wasn't already voting for Donald. Trump you got some of Tim. Scott's a speech I agree with David about that but not the part the part where Tim Scott suddenly. As if almost to say, I, don't really mean this started attacking Joe Biden said the job behind his ambition is quote a socialist utopia applied that to Joe Biden, and so the speech starts to become nonsense when when he does that the only person I heard actually mentioned something the Donald Trump would do in a second term was donald trump junior and the only thing he mentioned Donald Trump would want to do in a second term is to end the payroll tax end the funding for social security and we learned today from Social Security, Trust Fund that that means Social Security would be unable to pay benefits. In twenty twenty three and I just want to alert the audience in the past you've heard people use the phrase social security is project projected to go bankrupt at some date distant in the distant future. What that always meant was social security will only be able to hey benefits based on the amount of money it takes in that week, which is to say, would have paid about seventy five cents of each dollar that it owed. This idea would leave social security paying zero zero of each dollar that it does and that is the only trump idea for the second term that was actually mentioned tonight that I heard.

Day 1 of Republican National Convention kicks off

"Day one. Or should we say, night, one of the Republican National Convention has wrapped up. Let's get a summary of what's what, from our Al Jones at the 10 10 wins the election desk. Appall. The day started with a delegate roll call in Charlotte, North Carolina, the host city much smaller but an in person. Delegate roll call nominating Donald Trump for another four years. The president even popped in for a few words. I have the greatest base of support anywhere at any time. Any election, and people are starting to find featured features and testimonials on the president's accomplishments and broadsides at Democrats, including this shot from former ambassador Nikki Haley. Joe Biden and the Democrats are still blaming America first. Donald Trump has always put America first, and he has earned four more years as president. He sees Daleks. Tono joins us live and Alex. Even though the president was in a couple of recorded segments. He really left the sharp words to his surrogates. Well, he definitely did. And there was an expectation that he might do a surprise visit at the end of the night, which he did not do. He was in some Pre recorded interviews that that he did with different people, first responders and hostages who had been released, But nothing live tonight and Republicans al offering an alternative you tonight, starkly different than the Democrats last week. The Republicans warning that Joe Biden's policies will lead to crime in the streets and that suburbs would vanish Among those speaking tonight, Kimberly Guilfoyle President Trump built the most. "Like to welcome to the show Michelle and Nikki from CHEEKY PASSPORTS DOT COM who've come to talk to us about the island nation of Malta. Michelle Nikki. Welcome to the show. Goes I know Good Morning Chris. Thank you for having us on your podcast. Will, and what is your connection with Malta? Interests we are born and bred in Malta native of this tiny island. We travel a lot but somehow we keep relating back home. It's it has that little connection which keeps taking us back to home. Here. And if we had to put it on a map, if people don't know where we're talking about, we're just a little south of Italy and in just a little north of Africa that's correct Kris. Bang in the middle of the Mediterranean in fact, the best way to connect to the island by plane by air, there's an international airport which serves a lot of countries, and that is probably the best connection although there is a ferry to Sicily, which takes about two hours it's not a long ferry so That's the best three to connect will, why should someone go to? Malta do island is small and that has its restrictions, but it's also a nice thing to have because you can visit and do a lot of activities in shorts spend. Nowhere is more than fifteen minutes by car. Well, it could be longer with traffic, but in reality, the island is what maybe twenty seven kilometers about seventeen miles long and barely fourteen kilometers wide. So you get an idea of how time he could places and it's really easy to get around here but it's there is a lot of traffic we should say. So sometimes, it takes hours to get from as lose, but there is a little history on culture more. There are smaller villages you can visit. There are large fortified towns. Visitors usually like the historic aspect of Malta. There are some of the oldest standing Tempur in the world. It's nice. It's pleasant island. It's nice to visit over. There are the beaches there's a lot to do more despite it's size Rela Malta can be considered as a modern concrete we have all facilities one would imagine, but still some places have retained the traditional character. So it's a nice mix of modern and antique and the traditional. So you get a little bit of everything for whatever you want to do. Excellent. Well, where are we going to start if we go to visit Malta? Probably the best place to start is the capital city Valetta. various small. It's not like other capital cities. It's more like a small town. It's a fortified city. It has a lot of history of culture, the population invite as actually small on NYC other capital cities. It's more of an administrative sort of capita, but with lots of shops and lots of museums with lots of churches of which there are many more than general, and it's a very quaint capital city. Like I haven't had sex in thirteen months I do find that I and this is gonNA sound weird and I have this. Very cellular fear of not being relatable. It's a very cellular fear being misunderstood. Yeah. Very deep fear of being embarrassed. So I- trepidation about saying this gosh. What am I mean you don't seem like someone who's scared to be embarrassed not because you because you're just you're just so like you just put it all out there I feel like I want you I'm like. God. Was like you know what I'm at the point where I really am not seeking being in a relationship because I am so fucking sick of thinking about guys and I'm not anti man I fucking love man some of my best friends are men I live with two men that I'm not even sleeping with could just I wanNA be around all the fucking time you know you know. "You loose, Mommy. Your aunt. My sister of a mommy. Danan in June twenty-fourth Gary My. Sister Died August tenth. My on an died the twenty ninth. And Wendy. The dog died. Tend to December so I mean an incredible. It was six months and then you wrote about it. How did you pick yourself up to be able to I? Mean you know I? Think many people myself included. Just I'm just going to lay on the floor because I can't go on, you wrote about it. And moved on. How did you pick yourself up from that difficult period to be able to write about and then keep going. I don't know that I have and I know that. The book that I. I know two things that I tried to share because I don't mind sharing them like that, but. I ended up with the seizure. And I think my doctor's good-looking. Let me start with that. Thank God is good. Looking and Gregory says just because I have high blood pressure, you know. And I said to Greg ethnic is because I've never cry. This is where this started. And I think if I had learned to cry when I was burying people and doing these things I would never I would have been able to get it out and by keeping it in finally. My brain. My Heart, my soul, whatever it is, said no, if you deal with it, and so that's why I'm dealing with the now I'm learning to cry now and little things I'm sure people are sick of being around me now. Because little things I mean I was telling you about my grandmother, and that's very hard, every time I looking over my shoulder and grandmother seeing that music. Things bring tears is now that never would, and so that's a part of what. You say down, but I had things to do, but I'm not the only person. And I'm certainly not the only woman. WHO! With a lot of grief had things to do who was going to do, and I went from being. One of the babies in the family and my aunt Agnes. Who is ninety three? But my aunt agnes is not doing well and essentially I am. The elder of the family, so somebody had to take over. If I can say that. Somebody had to make sure that these things. Were being done, so people have to be buried. People have. Foam but pump pump, and you don't have any time for yourself and in talking to a lot of my friends, and in talking to strangers standing on. And people to come up to you and say you know it's true and lost my mother, my grandmother. Baird can you imagine at buried my child? and. You'RE GONNA be sad. There's no question of the sadness of some food cop. Shot your fourteen year on the back or whatever you know, there's no question of the sadness of that and yet you have to find a way. To go on, so at this point, we look I would imagine we. We look. We look to finish your core. Who must surely have looked at the mother? Of immaterial she must have. At misbranding parks you. I went and got. I went and got a an and I got I went and got a tattoo. Why did you do so? It was only I don't know a finished. She's gone now. But. I didn't want her to think she was alone. But she must surely have looked at Emmett's mother and said. How does she do this while she did that by bringing something together to say, we're not going to let these I want the world to see. If I may quote this Bradley Emmett's mother, I want the world to see what they did to open the casket. Do not close the let them see what they did to his body, but she had to look also. Can you imagine? Knowing that your Chatwin, can you imagine I mean he I, hanging down and this, and that that did to touch it up a little bit that they kept saying. We touch it up a little bit. No. Don't change it at all. So she needed to learn. To cry. I don't I don't know that she did didn't but I know at the point that the world needed her she didn't. You keep comeback back to this. This has been. It seems to be a significant late life project of learning to cry. And that was occasioned by. You didn't do it in your year of magical thinking. Right then so so after that you said, and now you're I mean. How did you get to understanding? I need to acquire this skill. Seventy, three years old learn now when planned learn. Yeah, but it was just something that say and having awakened in the hospital and farm. And I realized no. and. That's when Gregory and I. I'm always Dr. be out of. That's what Greg. Argue about that. He says well. You know you, you you you you. Your blood pressure was up you under pressure because you know you always under pressure about something and I'm saying. Gregory is because I've never learned to crack. And so we we keep going back Greg I keep going back and forth and right by the way. Learned that I don't know. I do know that one day they'll be. A disease called the Nikki. And, the response to it will be. Oh. Yeah, you've got the nickname what we're going to do with you. Now is teach you how to cry. You need to learn to cry so that you can let it. Out so that you're not holding in is there's something. Does it come perhaps from? I think there is a black stoicism. Right where we expect bad things to happen, and we kind of have a stiff upper lip about a lot of these things. was. Was that part of the Ted like we don't cry. We're used to bad things happening. Keep plowing forward when we do need to take that moment to grieve. I think you talked to any. In a number of women the truth. I. Think that you have to get their things that have to be done. And if you don't do who's going to do. I can tell you this joke about my mother. My father died Gosh. I'd have to look up the date, but when we call him gaspar, wind gusts dot. Hadn't he wasn't. He didn't take care of things. It's just not what he did. So gusts died, and of course she didn't have any place to be buried in you. He hadn't taken care of any of that and so I went I'm going to be home on that. When and I was like okay, we I'm there. We're GONNA. Take care of it. And then I thought this should not happen again. Because the people who are left have to take care of everything so that Christmas which I thought was incredibly kind of me. I bought six plants because six seven of us in the family and six pack. You put two people on the planet. You may not know and so I bought six plots and I bought the headstone and on the headstone I had everybody's name and date of birth. And, so when they when we 'cause I'm there, too. When we die all you have to fill in as when she died, we died. And I was pleased and I'm not really big on gifts, because it's hard to give people stuff, but Christmas put it in a box and wrapped it up, so mommy opened up the box and. What is this? Asset Mommy cannot meant for what this cost me. If, you don't want it. I'll take it. But of course, that's what and that's where the family is gusts. We're all. We're all GONNA BE I mean unless they don't want to. Get all their because now. If I drop did right now. Nobody has to work where she Nikki. Go House. You're going to do, but you know. But you know when you're born, you don't. But others do when you're born..

We're calling Brittany. hello, hi, is Britney. It is hybrid knee. It's on affairs I'm here with Nikki Glaser artist Hi Nikki. I might Brittany Hey. What's going on? Okay, are you ready? US Okay so I have been with my boyfriend for ten years. This is the longest that ever been with anybody in my thirty years old, and he's the second serious boyfriend than I've actually had, and about three years into the relationship I found out that he has renal failure. So that was a shocker to me. Pretty, you explain to me what that is. I know I've heard of it kidney. Yeah, kidney failure! Oh, Gosh I'm sorry, though yeah, and I I've never had to deal with that so dealing with it was like a big shock to me. 'cause I've never known anybody with that disease or anything. And so we've been dealing with that for the last ten years, and about three years ago I was sitting there and something told me that I needed to look through his phone, and from just instinct told me, and so I did, and I found out that he had been messaging a technician from his dialysis unit, and so I confronted him about it, and we talked it over. We worked it out, and about last year in about may I just needed to check his phone again so when I did that I found more text messages from him and the technician from his dialysis unit along with messages and pictures from his ex girlfriend Oh! God. That must've been painful, so then what happens? It took me a couple of days to bring myself to actually say something to him and confront him about it but when I did, he didn't really, he didn't act the way he someone that just got caught doing something bad would act he just. Nonchalantly told me about like he told me everything and every I told him about everything I made him pulling messages up. He acted like it wasn't a big deal. In that it it just it wasn't happening and he didn't act like it was really that big of a deal, but when you asked him. was He dismissive of your feelings? Was He like Babe? You're crazy. That's how I feel is like it wasn't a big deal to him like it was to me, so whether or not it. It was a big deal to him is not even the case. It was a big deal to you and if he hasn't done a good job of making you feel like it wasn't a big deal, then he's in. He's not acknowledging your feelings. I mean I women toss this word rabbits gas lighting. You're crazy. Yeah, but Britney back to an earlier issue was he diagnosed with his kidney condition before it to that..

"Oh God. There's so many things Nikki. You're so amazing. Truly your amazing and I realize I think you're such a great host. Listening to you I've been like because I'm just I'm trying to get better at hosting and so I'm just wondering you've been hosting this whole show well. No, I love hosting and I take over sometimes, but you are truly love your interview style I. Loved The style of this podcast, and it's like so aspirational for me to have the same kind of conversational like it's great. Some come back a lot yet. Okay, so I'M GONNA go to deal breakers. Okay, yeah, let's do. Are you sure? All right so dealbreakers! He goes to Disneyland once a month, but doesn't have any kids, not a deal breaker. Okay during to save. You? But I am curious. I've noticed that some men just really love that place. It makes them so happy. It takes him back to his time as they were kid. Feel any kind of like inner child. Just enjoying your inner child and letting that thing, even though it's stupid, come out is okay as long as I don't have to be burdened by. Why do you think he wouldn't be burdened by it? Because if he has to go, we'll if we live close I'm guessing we live close to this place. No not necessarily good flying. We once a month to go to him. Sorry, that's right because you live in New York. Let's imagine that you live here in Los Angeles and once a month he needs to go to Disney yet. You don't live together, but yeah. What does he do there? It depends, but Moodysson sometimes he loves space mountain. Sometimes he loves like Rocky, Mountain. Road or whatever that thing is yeah I don't mind. Sometimes. He just likes to wander and like. Just smell it. Take it in, because I'm GonNa Smell that reminds you of your child..

"I loved your documentary because it it made me see that you weren't what I thought like. You are insecure and driven and in a workaholic and all of these things that I am too and I'm wanting to be you and I'm like Oh even when you achieve all of those things it doesn't it seems that that's my whole doing the roast. The other night I was like I had a great set a kill everything was great. I could not enjoy myself. I went went. I I had a great set. Everyone's just like couldn't have gotten more compliments. Everything that I wanted in that moment but I realized I forgot to do to jokes. That were my not to my favorite jokes and I was just like. I can't believe I couldn't let it go. It's over Nikki that you can't go back. There's no reason to even worry about this right now but I'm trying to enjoy the show. You're on camera processing. What just happened and trying to laugh at everyone else and I couldn't I couldn't let it go and I'm so everyone's texting me there in the audience audience? Great job and I'm like I forgot to jokes. Like what are you talking about. I went to the after party. I was staring at the floor. Like listlessly. Just going how could I forget those. It's pointless I can't go back. What is the? I'm like. Maybe there will be another Alec Baldwin roasts that I can do those. It's just. It was ruins my night. I ruined the best one. What could have been one of the best nights in my life? You know. It was weird too. Is I have the same thing but what will happen is three years later literally three years later and I'm sure I've mentioned this before but I'll get up in the middle of the night to like urinate and I will go into the bathroom urinate and I'm sitting sitting there and I'm in an undefended moment. Three in the morning and I'll remember that I forgot to do those two jokes and I'll go check out loud and my wife wha-wha-what what what it'd be like no. I can't explain because if I told her I just remembered that three years ago I was doing something and it was going really well and then I forgot to do the one joke that really would have made it great. And that's why I said Shit out loud as if a little door had opened in the bathroom and a little man had come out and stabbed me in the knee I said it would that much intensity sir. I can't say that because she would leave divorce me easy you say yeah yeah. That's the other night when I was just so upset about it and I couldn't wouldn't even celebrate even a little bit and I just sounded crazy to everyone that gives me. I got just 'cause I couldn't not talk about it And and everyone was just like what and I go. Why am I doing this for a living? If this was supposed to be the best feeling of this is as good as it gets in terms forms of. I couldn't have hoped for anything better and I can't enjoy it. So what. What is the point? I should just retire in rescue birds. Bird bird rescue. Birds are assholes kind of like him a lot.

"Ideas panel we pair Joseph Gordon led Ah Tony Shay CEO Zepos and on the Sunday we recorded the talk your about to hear Kaitlyn Bristowe of the Bachelor and Bachelorette in Congress station with Comedians Nikki glaser now listeners I'm a big fan of Nikki's she is absolutely hilarious legit one of the funniest people in the world but what don't know very much about is something called the bachelor nation so to give us some insight I brought in the big guns as my co host today t be guide associate editor Liam Matthews Liam is co host of a beautiful podcast to fall in love that's TV guides unofficial bachelor nation. podcast is co host on the show is Jacqueline Trumbull from season twenty two of the bachelor as well as Bachelor in Paradise Liam Matthews Welcome to the talk house man what is up hey hey I'm so glad you could join us I need your expertise good sir well I am so glad that my expertise in this finally comes in handy so tell us tell us a little bit about the show and tell us a little bit about Kaitlyn Bristowe audiences met Kaitlyn Bristowe in two thousand fifteen on crystals a season of bachelor so then the next season of the Bachelorette she and another woman were chosen as co Bachelorettes and that was the first time they did that ran the lab last time they did that it was a disaster okay so she was the one that the men chose and she ended up having a very important season and she kind of changed the franchise and a lot of ways in what ways so her season was one of the first times that the show ever talked about sex there was also I have to say I watched a few clips before for Kaylin joined us live at license beautiful we don't see much but we hear some stuff from behind closed doors I met season yeah absolutely yeah but because she hooks up with this Guy Nick v all so he's he's another important guy but before the end of the show before the fantasy suites the fantasy suites when the final three the final three contests let's get you have an overnight date okay okay that's good steam much they hooked up before which you know it was like very controversial and then he brought it up during their reunion and he said if you weren't in love with me why did you make love to me Oh it was a very very controversial moment because she didn't pick him she picked another guy so he was accused of slut shaming her I can see why right and bringing this thing out into the open but it was a great thing bring it out into the open I think because it made the show more honest and as we know Kaitlyn Bristowe is very honest and very you know forthcoming talking about sex on the Bachelorette led to the conversation with Nikki Glaser you're about to hear definitely here's what's interesting about Caitlyn as well to me after her time on the bachelor and the Bachelorette she's launched a couple of pretty successful businesses there's a scrunchy line called do edit do you know about this if I don't okay just sounds crazy she started this she does limited runs of scrunchy that she designs right they sell for seventeen folks online but on Ebay these are going for literally anywhere from sixty five to one hundred fifty bucks a pop for one scrunchy do these like the ease of scrunchy -solutely it's nuts and then she also just launched her own line of wines called spayed and Sparrow Oh Caitlyn is an entrepreneur yeah putting their own brand together that's good I mean seventeen dollars for a scrunchy seems like a lot on its own it does to me I mean don't you buy those three for a buck or two right I haven't worn scrunchy so many years I don't know Caitlyn's also started her own podcast don't let compete with yours hers is called off the signed with Kaitlyn Bristowe now the other guest on today's show has actually appeared on off the vine and it was so fun to get Kaitlyn Bristowe and Nikki glaser together you're on the talk house podcast Nikki's hosted three hit podcasts to acclaim TV shows she's appeared on late night far too many times to count multi bill specials and toured the World Liam intersecting with your work over TV guide she's also famously appeared on dancing with the stars yes Kaitlyn bristowe famously did not and they talk about that on the show she was on dancing with the stars I think last year and she was the first person eliminated. which is it's honor Asandra for sure that's a rough one well back to doing what she does best her new net flicks special banging just dropped October I I watched it yesterday the day came out you just washed it this morning yeah we both found it to be fucking hilarious really really funny I watched it on the subway here in New York I and I was that guy like the one who was like laughing out loud and trying not to betray now of course with this being Kaitlyn Bristowe and Nikki glaser this is a hilarious talk yes it's very funny very no fucks given filtered Raunchy sexual podcasts home we certainly hear a lot about both of their sex lives again I refer to my bachelor nation expert tell us about Caitlin yes so if you are a bachelor fan you're listening to this podcast and you want to hear about her relationship with Jason you're going to hear a lot you're going to hear a lot about Jason Tar ticks penis if you want to know if you want to know what it's like she'll tell you all about it and she does but she addresses another kind of on this show Liam the creator of the Bachelor yes so the creator of the Bachelors this Guy Mike Fleiss who she blames for not letting her go on dancing with the stars and who recently was arrested for abusing his wife well charges were dropped but he's just a notorious figure just like none of well liked guy he's he'll he's a real he'll and on this show they openly call him a piece of shit which you almost ever hear the former lead of a show call the show's creator so unfiltered raw this conversation definitely is all of those things kate also spill some tea on her complicated relationship with Jj Lane yes who she saw at Ashley and Jared's wedding which we get some Sinus and we hear a lot about Ben Higgins yes Nikki Love Ben Higgins as we all do which season was Ben he was on Caitlyn season okay and then he was the bachelor Gotcha listeners? Cya You bring in an expert Oh my God you don't know this absolutely hilarious talk also takes in the benefits of getting tied up in bed why men should explore they're assholes dating bisexuals and Nikki Changes Caitlyn's life teaching your head a fart silently Sri rotate spread them cheeks give me a big license beautiful welcome Nikki Glaser Kaitlyn Bristowe I'm usually used.
