How the Biden-Harris ticket will impact the 2020 race
"Joe Biden's choice of Camilla Harris as his running mate is being met with excitement and hope from many women in and around Sacramento. KP CASE Joe Michaels joins us Live in studio with more Oh Bill Bynes decision to add California's junior senator to the 2020 Democratic ticket brings a smile to the face of the only woman currently sitting on Sacramento City Council Councilwoman Anjali Gash be calling the choice, exciting seeing yourself reflected in leaders. Is just so empowering, not just for young people, but for all people. Women have never seen themselves in the Oval Office. In the White House. Never so to see a woman actually get to vice president of the United States of America would tell women and girls everywhere that it is possible and it is possible in our lifetime. Kendra Montgomery Block of the Sierra Health Foundation, is pleased to finally see an African American woman chosen as the running mate of a major party's presidential candidate as a black woman, how we are constantly looked upon as the backbone of the entire country, and in doing so So making sure that you have not only just a seat at the table, but a voice at the table means a lot in our democracy, and Camilla represents that voice, not only for us before the people Montgomery Clark believes Harris will also serve as a rule model for young African American girls. You always want to be able to look at folks and say, Hey, that's a path that I could take two And now that's incredibly connected to black women, Indian women and two women of color that we can take this path that we can build strong families, built strong education connections and then be able to take on top leadership role in this country. Councilwoman Ashby says Harris is well prepared for the opportunity. This isn't choosing a woman for the sake of choosing a woman. He was a candidate for the presidency herself. She's been the senator for California. She's been attorney general. She's been a D E A. There's no doubt that she's qualified to do this job. Ashby understands the possibility that Harris could be polarizing and doesn't out W naysayers were choosing the next president and vice president, United States of America. We get to look at them through a critical leads, but we need to look at them through balanced lenses, and that is what the people of this country are asking for. So many ways through protests through support of candidates. The things that you're hearing is a nation that just wants equity in its decision making. They want to see women and men have equal opportunity they want to see people of every race have equal opportunity. When you look at American history, it's been a long time in coming. From the women's suffrage movement that ultimately gave women the right to vote 100 years ago this month of the civil rights movement aimed at ending racial discrimination to 2020 when an African American woman now stands as the running mate of a major party's presidential candidate,

"Michael Green, Nice job. Defending goes out of bounds and it'll go to the Clippers way were going through. I think it was the 2012 draft. Remember Damian Lillard was picked six and all the guys who went in the second round. I mean, that was the Draymond green second real quality. It is an art Form. 95 94 Clippers 9 15 left. Michael Greene fakes, Porter top, shoots the three and drains that's what he's been doing. Very solid down here in the bubble in this rotation brought a small bowl of clippers extend their lead. Four whistle off ball is Morris was dribbling and Michael. What did I do is he picks up numbers number 4 59 left in the game. Flippers can clinch the two seed with a win tonight here and set up a back. With Dallas Mavericks in round one of the playoff Morris off the inbound dribbling head of the K goes left eye does not a family in the mid post, trying to hit a trailer Jeremi Grant on the cup turned it over. Now the other way. Lou Williams returns it over, intercepted by Dozer was found by William that half court to stop transition and get a couple of changes for the Clippers. Here is Jackson and Marcus Morris will come into the lineup will head to the bench. And so will you, Michael Green, with Williams making not what he's asked to do, make the ball go in the basket does better. Just about anybody else. Finish routers been the best this year prevention. We hope to see him on Friday night for giving us the Clippers six eastern on ESPN radio..

This study is the largest longitudinal study of cognition in lithium to date Catherine, burdock and colleague started with two hundred and sixty two patients with bipolar one disorder sixty. Four percent of whom were taking lithium. Their study had two key findings with the main limitation that neither were controlled first, they found no difference at baseline cognitive testing for patients taking or not taking lithium. This suggests that Lithium's cognitive effects are at least not much different from those of other meds bi polar the ones who are not on lithium had more severe, manic and depressive symptoms at the time of testing. Second they did Longitudinal testing on the patients who responded well to lithium and half of the ones on lithium did have good sustained stability on it when these patients were followed up about four months later, a third of them had improved cognition and there was no evidence of worsen cognition on the lithium. These encouraging results are in contrast to uncontrolled studies that show mild impairments on measures of processing speed, verbal learning, and creativity with long-term Lithium use today's study didn't actually look at creativity also in studies of healthy subjects, lithium doesn't seem to impair cognition. The researchers attributed part of the cognitive success they observed to the relatively low levels of lithium used around point six Sarum level, which is within the zero point six, two, zero point eight range recommended for maintenance therapy. I'm only aware of one controlled study cognition on lithium. It was a two thousand sixteen trial by Michael, burks group that randomize patients to lithium or Qu. Opinions. Sarah, quill for Mania and at follow up one year. Later, the lithium patients had better verbal fluency. He was able to recover from injuries off which medical professionals considered. Thank you for for having me. Thank you for having me youthful days created. Soviet. Usually starter show with an inspirational court. So is there a court that's sort of on your mind right now and how do you apply it in your day to day life? I what I find especially lately, very very inspiring is is the quotes that you cannot drive darkness out of the world's by fighting darkness but by my shining light and I think especially. It's always been like that but I think especially now it's very easy to become a little bit negative feeling. You have to resist things in in life and fight against the things were system or a disease. It's I think most importantly for human beings as an individual what you can do an repower that you have is to start to really Stein, the light of awareness consciousness lifeguard however wants to call it within so that you can start to become a positive five in your surroundings for your family for for for this whole world to add something who live instead of just complaining and fighting this. Become a shining spirit because that's in essence what we are our full of for start that you shared we can't fight darkness darkness. We have to use a different strategy over here. Because otherwise, it's going to be very stressful anxiety driving and mark useful and so are we need to do alluded to is use these different practices these techniques, these ways of thinking that will allow you to eliminate the light that has already within you or shine it in the right areas so that I. May Be facilitated the healing of people around you as well as collectively in the word where is I think a good place to begin with but let's start from the beginning Mikhail. How did it all begin for you? Where did you grow up as a child I grew up in the Netherlands and I was raised in a Christian family and I got a lot of beautiful values in my in my life in my raising as the upbringing and Yeah. especially a lot of what what the? The teachings of Jesus that you have to be loving and kind forgiving and all these qualities I. Always found very inspiring. Later on I win a little bit on my own path the not. Very. Much Christianity. But still I find very beautiful. Everything's that Jesus said everything spot on but then I went on my own path and I got more. I found it interesting. How without theory? How without reading certain stories or a theory about what God is or what life is without theory to experience directly the truth the essence of this reality because a story, it's GonNa help or an idea but it's it's with the mind if you know what I mean but experiencing it a feeling is, is above the mind you do it with with the heart if you know what it means. So then I got more in to meditation into instill nece experiencing life experiencing God's there's Universe is reality this creation and finding that reality? Is Different experience for everybody. But in essence, it can only be experienced and not really be told
"michael" Discussed on Finding Mastery: Conversations with Michael Gervais
"I'M GONNA. Be here at the end of the this thing in I'm going to be seen you through it and we're GonNa make it through it and that was you know because some kids, just they just. Kind of just wanted to prove again that you're going to see them that. They weren't GonNa make it. I was not going to be that. You know and so it. It was nothing heroic. It was just like stopped trying so darn hard. You know you got so much to offer and so much to give me. That's that's to me. was like the ultimate. Ultimate and I'm GonNa care for you, no matter what. It's kind of like your kid now. You got three kids right now. I mean how much how much do you love your kids? How far will you go to prove that you love them well? If you love somebody, you'll go as far as you have to go to the end if that whatever. Whatever? And so that you know that's. That's the commitment that I think it it. It is there for us to jump on, and it makes you a vulnerable you makes you look bad why this guy doesn't belong to be here anymore. He's let it get out of here. No, you know I'm going to hang myself. With it because I know this guy could make it if we don't give up on you, that's that's the kind of commitment to care in I. Think it really shows you know. You'd give to others, and you give them an opportunity to really do something special. They might not have done otherwise. I think it's the way you do it, you know sometimes there are. There's harsh news to deliver, and that's the difficult part of the businesses that everybody is in, but some it's not just the word sometimes you do. Sit him down item. I know sometimes with my kids. If it's difficult, conversation out outgun lower and then have them in the chair, so they feel a little bit more in control. I don't know. Maybe that's crazy. You just want them to feel not threatening love, even if it's bad news, even if you are grounded. For whatever and I think that's the part I Michael I think I told you before obsessed with with failure right now and fear those two things pushing through when you are scared to death, you know, and and whatever way because what comes on the other side of it is pretty cool because you're gonNA, survive it and I feel like that's something that can also be thrown in there with leading and guiding as well, but it's again. It goes back to the culture of knowing that none of knock you make this mistake. You're not cut. In fired. We're still going to bring you back in. What did we take from? What did we learn only if only if you make it twice? So fear, failure are a temporary in imprinting credible motivators, their bit dangerous. And they are on the other side of it and I'm not advocating for him and just saying that sometimes people will do work harder longer. Whatever out of fear you know and. And failure and fear also great constrictors the fear of failure. Fear of looking bad the fear what other people are great constrictors of authentically living, and so you know that's why the mental skills for me are so important is like okay. Let's actually get some skills boards. You can manage this runaway train. Sometimes negative train of thought this fear based train. Of thought you know, so you can actually get off that train if you want to. This will take his kind of down a different road here, but. What we have come to face right now. And what's going on in our communities right now has brought to light again for the thousand. Millionth time. How important it is for us to to take care of the people in our communities and we. We have an opportunity to make a choice that we're going to do about how you going to do it and or if you're going to, you're not and I don't think that there's ever been a time. That's more ready for us to show. How much we? We love the people around this wherever they come from whatever colours their skin is whatever their background is, and I know that there's there's a lot of work to be done and a lot of ways voting issues and legislature issues, and but I don't know that there's anything more important right now, and I'm a stay with what what I know I don't know. How do anything else? But loving the black people that are in our that are close to us that we can relate to, and we can't have the opportunity to connect with is so crucial. It's so crucial that we understand without that willingness. We're not gonNA feel their pain, and we're not going to understand the story, and we're not going to make the right choices on how to show to care and I. Don't know that there's any time more important in our lives than than to love the people around us and right now. Black lives are so important to to love and we should have learned it. It hundreds of years ago, but now more than ever, let's that's love our way back through this this situation and turn it so that all people understand how much black lives matter and and that's it's more of a challenge in in in the white world. Then then then the white people think, but it's there to be done, and it's not a hard process. There's all kinds of work to be done, but there's nothing more important than just downright caring eleven th the people around us just because they're. They're just because they they need it. Deserve it just like everybody else and so. That's. Why I think the a lot of the things that we feel strongly about now in our work. Just continues to show us why we should stay with it and keep working at it and make sense of it and see if we can help people be. Better at what they WANNA. Do whatever it is, and in this case in particular because we have you on you, but that it's not sorry. I don't apologize for that that just it's so important and It's what we find so much with our players we've been. We've been going through this off season in in really in zoom world and we've heard from so many kids, and as we've always heard from kids, but not not like now even more than ever. Because you can feel. You can feel the newness people say oh, really I didn't get it that way. I didn't see it that way I wish I would have seen that earlier. I wish I would have known it earlier and. It's A. It's a really rich time to rich time for people have the heart in so. Anyway so I. I'm not sorry. I take that back. Tag Sorry? Not Sorry, that's the thing. I will say this. I think so many conversations that need to be had and that that's the key word is conversation. It by the way goes. Across the board and I think one of the things I I've missed recently from the pandemic on front when we all started to quarantine, which for me was on March sixteenth. On you know your everyday actions going to the grocery store with mass gone in driving..

"That. We can get to the hospital that if we end up at the hospital that they will try to save our lives every person who played a role in this. When we're through this has to be rewarded in all sorts of ways. But we can start today as I'm sure some of you have just Expressing our love our absolute love and devotion to them for helping for struggling so that we could have time those of us who get to sit at home and think about how we're going to fix this world we can fix this world. We owe it to the people who have had that struggle and that suffering. We owe it to those who've died everyone who has died so far. Let Their deaths not be in vain? Let's two years five years down the road. Look back and say it was awful that we lost this beloved person. This family member this friend of ours. This neighbor down the hall but then we picked up. We picked ourselves up and we picked up the Mantle. And we said we're going to create a better world in their name so that when we when we have the things we have and we live the way that we want to be living and we're treating each other the way we should be treating each other we can say this all began out of a massive a massive death and despair but instead of singing instead of wallowing in a instead of building. False memorials to it. The Living Memorial was that we all got off her ass and we got busy and we fixed it and we the people literally became we the people. Maybe we wouldn't have done that. Had you not died or you had not died or you or you or you. Your deaths were not in vain. You know we're going growing up going to Catholic school. Good Friday. They tell the story of Jesus being nailed to the Cross and hanging there for three hours until he passed away and the his is seven last words or seven last things that he said that are recorded. And it's it's your little kid and you're there reading this. The alternates pretty frightening thing. Because it's clear the guy hanging on the cross didn't WanNa die that he was in such pain with the nails through his hands and that that's how he's being propped up on that cross the nails in his hands and his feet in however. I'll say whatever else they did to him and he's going through the most awful pain and begging God to take this away. Take this job away from me. Please don't let me go like this. He says his last words to his mother. He asks his friend to take care of his mother in that moment. He's not a believer in whatever. The thing is that he's supposed to be the son of God the afterlife all this other stuff. He's just wanting to live and he's not going to live. He is in a slow death and three three days less than three days later. He rises from the dead. The resurrection and the story has this happy ending. I'm not being sarcastic. I'm just saying folks. We can have that happy ending in spite of all the death and destruction that we're having to go through right now instead of being paralyzed with fear and terror because anyone of us myself you any one of US could be next. Many of us will be next. If it's me I don't want to have lived and died in vain for no frigging reason and if it happens to you. I don't want that to happen to you. I don't want you to be forgotten. I don't want this moment to be forgotten. I want to do something. The majority of people did not have to die. Had We all done this differently? Had We had our unelected leadership doing its job. None of this. None of the tragedy Sir are about to occur. None of those half to happen. So that's my commitment to you to you to your loved ones to anybody that you know that has passed away during this that will pass away. I will not let this be forgotten. I will not let them have died for no reason whatsoever. I will look back with you in a few years. Not long and we will feel a sense of pride in some ways that that we rose to the occasion that we did not just let this happen and ignore it that we did not just when we didn't have to stay at home in November that we didn't stay at home or if we are at home we have fought for to make sure that our voice gets the legally be heard. I'm GonNa do this I'm going to do. I'm I'm asking you to join with me. I'll join with you. You can ask me. We none of us. We don't have to take this anymore. This is it this is it. I've seen enough. I really seen enough and I with you. We will resurrect this this country this world this planet to be something better than what it's been and I can already see it I can. I can hardly you can already see it because I already see. The evil doers are already trying to do it. trump yesterday making the pronouncement. That Young People. You do not have to pay your student loan. That's for the next six months. Wow Okay so really see. This is what they're all admitting with all the things they're saying. If you don't have to pay your student loan debt now or for six months. How buffer the six months after that or six years? Why are we even forcing our young people into this virtual debtor's prison it's wrong we know it's wrong and when the back is against the wall what do even the bad people say People you don't have to pay your mortgage this month Landlords you can't pick people farmworkers. We hate you. We hate you. Illegals your essential. They're releasing nonviolent offenders out of the prisons they shouldn't have been there in the first place. Don't have come back and don't put anybody else in prison again unless they're you know. I don't even want to say this but because the concept of even prison is wrong. We're smart enough to be able to have a system set up to protect us from people who would do us harm. I get that. But when they're they're already releasing the so-called nonviolent offenders where were they in prison in the first place. You see what my point is. Is that that the people the haves the one percent who have benefited greatly at the expense of everybody else now realize that they can't quite keep it going. Even the moderate Democrat who's going to be the nominee for the highest office in the land felt like he had to do something this week so he's going to lower the free health care for all that we already have for Medicare for people sixty five or he wants that he's GonNa lower to sixty years old. I'm not laughing. That's a good thing. It's a step okay. So you see so. He even see we take by the hand. We help them see that. That's just not enough but you're in the right direction. You didn't raise the eligibility age from sixty five to seventy. You went the other way. Good for you now. I know you can do even more. They know they know their system is wrong. And they know that when we come out of this after having lost so many people after Gone through it. The essential workers who are not at home. Every we'RE NOT GONNA put up with US anymore and they know we're coming we're coming and that's a good thing. I hope everybody is enjoying this weekend. That's the name aim. I've i've given our inflatable leftist. Here's tom i'm poor intern or runaround and all night. It is the perfect name at if you were not at the daily wire backstage we you had a job thing must've cost like thousands of dollars it roquette well. That's good but i don't care if it costs twenty thousand dollars. It was a giant inflatable tumbler fighting a giant inflatable crowder mug with a giant inflatable stogie. It was the highlight of the night as far as i'm concerned. I think it's over on the delaware. Go check it out but then you also get to ask a question so become a subscriber today. This question comes from amazing subscriber daryl who says dear serb motto from a catholic perspective active. Do you believe that there is a point of no return wherein god decides that he has had enough of a person sending and ceases to extend his mercies will so for some people. I think you know mercy would be ending all right now. You're the sweet. Media of death might be a mercy to some people in so much as you know. If you die in a state of grace you get to go up to heaven. That's pretty really good whereas for some people very very long life doesn't seem merciful at all for people who are frittering away their life and an end sort of <hes> self-destruction certainly the bible we see god losing his patience with certain cities and but that also is in part a function of of human will will because when god is preparing to destroy cities they'll say all right if i can find forty righteous people then i won't destroy it. He can't find those forty can't find twenty right if i'm gonna find ten righteous people but they can't because people get so rotten so i'm not too worried about the sweep meteor of death i i have great love for providence i have great trust in god and great faith and russell kirk writes about this the guy who wrote conservative mind and when he in his read of edmund burke says that providence the trust in god's plan the trust that this world makes sense is fundamental essential to the conservative point of view and even if you think that you're an atheist or agnostic or something just the idea that this world makes sense. There is a purpose. It's not just random craziness that doesn't mean anything tale told told by an idiot full of sand and fury signifying nothing just just that belief is central to conservative and on the left right. Now you see chaos this idea that there is no sense to the it's not going toward anything. I always see these articles. You know a meteor hurled past the earth. Thank goodness. It didn't hit us. I didn't think it was gonna hit us. I i you know it just. It doesn't seem like it's our time just yet <hes> that's a fundamental distinction. I'm not worried about that meteor of death coming in crushing us when we don't know the time or the hour we don't know when it's going to happen but when it does trust it'll be the right time and i'm sure we'll see some sweet meteor of death twenty twenty bumper stickers like continue the steam whenever came up with that is making some good money right now. This is our final question on this up. Sort of conversation chug chug. That's what they say you a._o._l. Rate call drought all right. This question comes from tyler says i am a criminal justice and homeland security major. My professors in my criminology continue to push black lives matter movement and one is really pushing us to go to be ellum rally do have any advice. Have you considered transferring schools. I don't know major in english and then go join the police academy or something. That's really awful. Though it's part and parcel of a movement you see generally in academia <unk> mea which is a lot of departments hate the thing that they are studying so if you're studying criminal justice it appears that there are endorsing ideologies eighty allergies that disparage criminal justice that hate that undercut criminal justice you see this with american studies. American studies ironically hates america..

I i would recommend the doing it. I would recommend doing the marriage prep because you know marriage isn't isn't a book at your acting every day. You're putting it into your body. You're <hes> you know. It's your life so it read whatever good books people recommend to you but i i would practice. It's a much more practice than an intellectual exercise and it seems as if you knew you probably knew people that have been like in the newlywed stage my mom called over five years yeah and then <hes> any therapist i've ever talked to say like the seven and the ten year itch real <hes> talk to people that stage and then talked to people at the twenty year stage because every stage of marriage is so different and then differently relatable to people. I can't remember what we read. I'm coming up on ten years and i can't remember it no okay. That's that's good. I'm glad i just had a kid. Wanna make marilyn monroe movie either refers to therapists often referred to it as like that you start to look at if the other person and all the things that you used to love you know hey. That's what that happens around seven and ten years. They say it's just interesting anyway. Good luck with that and you know like michael eggleston earlier. Get married and have lots of babies okay. Jerry says his company released a guide of correct language regarding gender in the realm of healthcare with phrases like biological sex being band. I wanted to keep my job but this is crazy. Any advice depends what your job is. It depends how you have to use that language. I mean i would never use that language and now i work here. You know it adds now. I'm not working at morgan stanley or something or someplace that would insist on that kind of ridiculous orwellian language so it it depends if they're saying around the water cooler. You can't use the word sex you have to use the word gender which is a term that refers to grammar not to human people. I mean there's not supposed to refer to humans and then i would just avoid the topic at the water cooler. If in official company missives you're not allowed to use the term sex. You have to use the term gender for something something that is going out publicly from the company. It's their company. They can put out whatever they want now. If what they're saying is that in your interpersonal communication. You're just kind of your your your emails. Your text messages your the way you think because that's what it ultimately comes down to not just speech codes speech codes or thought codes. If it comes down to that i certainly wouldn't be able to tolerate that. I mean all i've got is my consciousness. All i've got is what i think of the world the faculties that are mine and if i were told that i'm not allowed to think what i think or have the opinions that i have or even use my own speech which is the human <hes> ability what right that's what separates us from the animals then i would maybe start start looking on ziprecruiter dot com and start looking for a new place because that that is so oppressive i don't. I don't know how i can have a career that sort of place and i don't know how h._r. Would handle that and oh. I suspect i do know how h._r. Would handle it the way h._r. Should handle it is by protecting the liberties and the rights of the employees but by stays. That's how it works out for. "Because i was such a judgmental conservative and i've thought about that is why is he calling me and i think it's because we are very judgmental. We have judgments about the world we think about the world we think about morality we think about virtue we think about human action we spend a lot of time thinking about them so we do have judgments and yet because we spend all that time they're also comes the wisdom of human broken human frailty there but for the grace of god go i <hes> i people i know have had abortions there but for the grace god go i either as the baby or is the mother women i know who who racked with regret and grief because of what they did. I i've a friend in new york. Unbelievable christian guy born again goes to daily. Mass is a born again catholic. Usually we say born again and it refunding my buddy reporting and catholic mass every day i love jesus cap and this guy was involved in crimes serious crime like kill people kind of crime and <hes> he pointed out to me. Saint paul was a murderer. If saint paul was a murderer persecuted and killed christians and he becomes the apostle also such the apostle that he's just referred to as the apostle then certainly there is redemption for women and mothers who have had abortions all right. Heidi says her boyfriend friend and her are currently reading three to get married by fulton sheen. Do you recommend any other books as marriage prep. I'm embarrassed to say. I haven't read three to get married but i just love fulton sheen blue. I mean just go through his old his old t._v. Shows watch them on youtube. You'll go down a vortex. Absolutely i didn't read any books for marriage. Prep i did marriage prep. The catholics have pre qena and there were other but there are other protestant versions of that yet <hes> i do recommend that i found that really helpful <hes> the conversations with my priest really helpful conversations with married. People were really helpful. I asked my grandfather who my grandparents have been married. Something i mean like seventy years. He was a captain in the navy. I asked him what's the key on his sixtieth anniversary. So what's the key to a happy marriage..

"There's no but don't lie so what's your opinion of the current state of healthcare. There are many challenges inches. It's broken costs are too high there. There would be ways to expand access to healthcare. Innovation innovation is wonderful. We're the greatest driver of healthcare innovation in the world. Obviously we have the best health care system in the world. That's a true answer a leftist hearing that wouldn't find anything objectionable about it except the last one that no. I think they would agree with that. Really i think it depends on how hardcore they were. Maybe not okay. Maybe layoff that a little bit the real fear is if they get into asking you specific policy solutions and if they do that find a lawyer buddy i mean like serious viewpoint discrimination and <hes> even if it doesn't violate any particular whatever state you would be going to medical school in that that is a big issue that is real corruption fire education and you should make an issue of it. Oh julian wants to know. I don't know this might be allie. Beth study using a fake name as a daily wear subscriber name julian who wants to know what are your biggest criticisms of calvinism. How much time do we have left in the slash. Say that because alley is obviously really an advocate for calvin discussed this at length in this she talked about on <hes> ben episode of the sunday special that she was on which everyone should go check out as well without without going too far into it and i'm no scholar of calvinism. I'm a catholic the the big the big criticism of calvinism is that is it is a form of fatalism so it <hes> denies the will in many ways and it sort of surrenders <music> humanity to sort of mindless fatalism now. This is the response to that would say you darn catholics or pelagia aijun heretics. You have a work based theology which is not true and we could get into that at some point but if if calvinism is only focused on grace and denies the role of the will and then certain harasses like which were declared harris's fifteen hundred years ago the pledge in heresy deny grace and <music> only focus on the role of will what you need to have is true religion which is the marriage of grace end will dancing as though they're doing a formal dance at the ball and you see this most clearly in the annunciation so in the angel comes down to marion says hail mary the lord is with you you will conceive a child of the holy spirit and then all of heaven holds its breath because the angel weights. Mary says i am the lord servant his will be done. So that god comes all the way down the mountain all graces there in that scene and yet so as mary's will marry a sense to god's will and and we may turn away from god's will we may turn away from our own salvation that is for us to do and this is denied by certain <hes> more modern christian <hes> integrations rations and including calvinism and so that would be i think probably the most glaring error all right says. Would you be friends with someone who had an abortion. I am friends with people who have had abortions multiple abortions and multiple people who have had abortions christians and i'll even expand that to the whole pro-life pro-life community who tend to be conservative. At least i think christians conservatives pro-lifers. I think we are the most judgmental people except when we are the least judgmental. The people i had a guy barely knew him. You know i mean we were kind of thousand college. Movement weren't close at all hadn't spoken for years and years and years not after really freshman or sophomore four year he called me because he was going to prison for an horrific crime i won't i won't even go into it here. "Job. I had one excellent teacher in high school. Who taught in elective philosophy course now but that was public social yeah publix wow he was the exception not the rule okay. If if you you only had to do one or two if that was all you can fit in. It certainly would be aristotle or plato. I mean that would just if you're right. If you teach aristotle and plato that would so correct act some of the <hes> many of the academic problems that you see <hes> there are many other philosophers who should be taught or theologians as well or people who kind of blur the line like saint thomas aquinas that would be great to do that. We tend to have this focus on the enlightenment philosophers it just in america and in in this world but i think that's kind of a mistake or other great philosophers dating back to antiquity and we should probably read them. We should also probably read the ancient historians like through cities. I think that would correct a lot out of educational problems and then most importantly we should read the bible in school. This is not my <hes> theocratic fascism like some of the leftists wanna call a bible thumper autism not a bible thumper on. It's not what i'm saying. I'm just saying it's the most important book that has ever been written and it singularly shaped western civilization and the the rest of the western canon that you read after that <hes> makes no sense if you like none of it makes any sense if you are not biblically literate so the fact that we don't teach the bible in school because of some stupid supreme court decision fifty years ago to appease some aggrieved atheists is just absurd. I mean it is it is not possible to have a serious education. If you haven't read the bible and so <hes> even before the philosophers i would say we need to get some biblical literacy back in schools as well so here's a follow up question to that. Would you say that the average american that you know might be middle class and just work a nine to five job. Every day should read all the things that you said or do you think because you you and andrew klavan have defended jeremy. Naina are kind of like anti college. I'm a lotta screw that up and you're very pro. Liberal education drew talks about about this a lot of course he spent a lot of time at oxford in england and has a love for old history and all that stuff. Do you think that that's something that is only for the. I guess the elite educated educated people or do you think that is the philosophy for everyone. Well college is not for everyone and <hes> these days probably for no one but you know in nineteen forty nine hundred forty thirty five. I think we had about five percent of americans graduated from a four year college. Now sixty percent of high school seniors going to go on to a college. Many of them won't graduate. They'll go into debt and not graduate but i. I don't think that a liberal education is necessary. Refer your liberal arts college is necessary for everyone. I suspect there were a whole lot of farmers in the nineteenth century who knew a whole lot more about our western.

"But he would have expected to win right because he's cheating. He ends up cheating with no less an adversary than the government of Russia to fix the two thousand sixteen election. You can't have both of these things. You can't have Donald Trump never desired or intended to be president. And Donald Trump both desired and intended to be president so much that he cheated fixed the election with Russia and therefore expected to be present. You can't have that those don't both work. So why would Michael Cohen say it Michael Cohen is throwing spaghetti at the wall. He's not here to tell the truth. He's not here because he's now reformed. He's seeing the light. No Michael Cohen is trying to garner public sympathy. Probably wants to get out of jail little earlier than he's supposed to because he's a broken weak man who has betrayed his benefactor. That's what it is. There's no I don't understand what the other explanation would be. This is what happens when you get the squeeze put on you is people just start saying anything, even if the things contradict themselves, which clearly he's done right here. So okay. Now, Michael Cohen has even less credibility than he had when he started because somewhere in there. He's lying not he didn't only lie in the last. Congressional testimony lies in this one one of those conflicting statements has to be alive. So next up Donald Trump is a racial bigot. Now, this is the greatest evidence that they've got nothing on Russian collusion. If they've got Donald Trump if they've got evidence that Donald Trump conspired with the government of Russia to fix the twenty sixteen election broke, presumably untold numbers of laws made him made self a traitor to his own country. Why would they bring up that? He doesn't like black people. It doesn't it seem a little weak. I mean, you've got you've got the president of the United States committing treason. That's the allegation and also he said a mean thing about a black person one time. No, the the reason that they're going and trying to portray Donald Trump has some sort of racial bigot is because they don't have evidence of any crime and racial bigotry is not a crime. But in the court of public opinion, it hurts them when you're looking at the twenty twenty election with which is what this is really all about it hurts them. And so he says Michael Cohen goes does a little dance that the Democrats want him to do he says Donald Trump's a racist? Mr. Trump is a racist. The country has seen Mr. Trump court white supremacists and bigots you have Hernan call poorer countries pulse. His private in private. He's even worse. He once asked me if I can name a country run by a black person that wasn't a whole this was when Barack Obama was president of the United States. And while we were once driving through struggling neighborhood in Chicago, he commented that only black people could live that way. And he told me that black people would never vote for him because they were too stupid. And yet I continued to work for him. Why? Oh, gosh. Michael Cohen must be a pretty bad guy. If he's going to not only work for someone like that. But he is going to. Pledge undying fealty to him say take a bullet for him. Wow. Michael Cohen must be a real dirtbag. Well, we already knew that. But the stories that that Michael Cohen is telling the stories are hard to believe hard certainly impossible to corroborate. But then even the insinuation he's making or bizarre. We'll get to that in a second. But first selectquote, you know, I love.

"And they're saying he's not lying now. It's like the they're a victim of fraud. Who? Cuts a con man and other check. It's like it's like an abused spouse. Who says no, no, he's changed? His he hasn't changed. They don't change. Even Michael Cohen admits this credibility problem. A free agent. That was reporting back to the president what he had done correctly frequently reached out to Mr. Trump, and Mr. Trump was very happy to take his calls. It was free service. Roger stone says he never spoke with Mr. Trump about WikiLeaks. How can we coop corroborate? What you are saying, I don't know. Oh, that's pretty rough. So in all of this testimony says, yeah and stone, Roger stone was talking Wicky leaks, which is really a front for the Russians and then the called Trump and Trump took the call and yeah. Yeah. So Debbie Wasserman Schultz. She's so excited. Oh, yes. And how can we corroborate? What you're saying? Mr cohen. Oh, I don't know. I don't think they expected that answer that he can't corroborate any of this. And you see it throughout the whole testimony the the whole testimony. He makes these outrageous claims and really they're just insults. They're not even that one was a particular claim that he can't defend but mostly it's just insults. Besmirching his character. He's a racist. He's a visist that and say, okay. How can we corroborate is? I don't know. Michael Cohen back when he was Trump's flack couldn't corroborate those rights that Donald Trump is the best memory of anyone I've ever met is the most dignified man, he has the most integrity is the greatest that ever walked the earth. Now, he couldn't corroborate that either. And now because he's the same guy because he's the same lying dirtbags always been he can't corroborate this. He's just saying what people want to hear. He's just dancing for the Democrats now used to dance for Trump. Now, he dances for the Democrats to try to limit his time in prison to try to get a little public sympathy. So let's go through these assertions these the these claims Michael Chona's making this testimony because what the Democrats are relying on is that it's just gonna be this cloud of fraud deception collusion. Nobody's gonna look into the specifics. Let's look into the specifics. Let's knock everyone down first specific I claim from Michael Cohen, Donald Trump never. I really wanted to be president. He never expected to be president. He didn't want. This is one of the main democrat attack lines on Trump. He was only ever after his own personal advancement making more money. Building more hotels getting his name out there branding. That's all. He was interested in. He never wanted to be president ever thought. He was going to be president. Heck he might have been upset when he won the presidency because it hampered his own business career Michael Cohen opens his testimony with this line. In a million years. Did I imagine when I accepted a job in two thousand seven to work for Donald Trump? That he would one day run for the presidency. To launch a campaign on a platform of hate and intolerance..

"Michael Cohen dirtbag. Lawyer convicted an admitted liar a went to Capitol Hill today to testify to congress, which he previously had lied to the GOP came out with a little ad before this happened. You'll remember Michael Cohen used to say, I love Trump. I'll take a bullet for Trump. I'll never turn on Trump. Now, he goes to Capitol Hill to say that Trump is a liar and a racist and a cheater every sorts of terrible thing. So in advance of this ridiculous testimony that has zero credibility the GOP released an advertisement that just contrasted. Well, Michael Cohen is saying with his past statements now I wanna to tell you about the real Donald Trump. He's really he's a unifier. The words the media Choubey using to describe Mr. Trump are generous. He's going to do everything that he promised. He's gonna bring success and he's going to make America. Great compassionate principled. Donald Trump speaks from the. Heart and pathetic kind. He's going to stay true to who. He is. He's gonna be an amazing president Humboldt on this and genuine Mr. Trump's memory is fantastic. And I've never come across the situation with Mr. Trump has said something, that's that's not accurate. Donald Trump wants to do is make this country. Great again says have fun in prison there at the end just sort of smelling those Michael Cohen, tears that dirty disloyal rat. This is a great ad people are mocking this ad right now because Michael Cohen was the personal lawyer to Donald Trump. They're saying man if this guy is such a dirtbag liar. If he's obviously flipped so significantly. Why did Trump Hiram doesn't show a lot of good judgment? Why do the put him on their board? Make he was deputy finance chairman. Why did they do that this ad actually requires humility and it demonstrates humility on the part of the GOP? It's an ad that admits that Donald Trump hired freight. Oh to play Michael Tom Hagen rather to play the smart put together lawyer ends up hiring this buffoon. It emits that the RNC hired schmuck to be its deputy, finance chairman is worth it. It's worth admitting all of that this is in the old school before Donald Trump before reality TV before social media really took over politics to the degree that they have in the old school..

"Even now, president still pay lip service to Christianity, even though we've had many post now, I think to post restraint presidents Barack Obama of didn't seem to be terribly Christian. I think he said he was Christian. But he also drew on the face of all religions, he criticized Christians for the crew Salines their gun image and clinging to guns and religion. Brooke Obama strikes me as the spiritual, but not religious type, you know, very interested in himself, but not too concerned about the nature of metaphysics and the divine, and obviously Donald Trump is a thrice-married lapsed Presbyterian. But he does at least that one. He's excellent four Christians and for pushing of the things that Christians want, and he does pay lip service to it as well. We may be in a post Christian period, we may have the the fast religious groups in the United States or the nuns, the religiously unaffiliated, the spiritual but not religious. So we may get to a point where we're electing practical atheists or practical acne. Sticks. But if we were at the point and some person might call himself Muslim who really is a practical atheist. We ought to the point the America where we had a serious practicing Muslim elected president. I just suspect that the culture of the country would be so so different. We wouldn't recognize it when it could potentially be. I mean, you see studies. How so many millennials are unchurched? Yes. No. I think I mean, I think perhaps it's it's just as likely we get a Muslim president as a practicing Christian presence in the future. I'm not. I'm really not discouraging Muslims. I'm just saying it seems that the culture is trending in an atheistic direction and were probably going to see that reflected in our politicians. All right. Sam has a very important question. He wants to know Michael white has been hate you. What have you done to incur the most terrible wrath of our future? President. I think I received the applause of our current president. I think that was part of it the the real issue, and I say this as a as a bestselling off, Ben. And I you know, he, and I are bestselling authors and. Then you have how many books I will. I how many books have I sold as the real question. Yeah. I of Ben made this point when I became a bestselling one that he was little upset because he has written a dozen books or something ally. And and but I sold more copies of not a book. Then he sold of all of his books with words, and this is very difficult. You know, obviously among us bestselling authors. There is always a little bit professionally where you go back and forth, you bounce ideas off one another. But I've tried to teach Ben my secrets which is to stop doing all that research. Okay. For for one stop putting all those hours in. I mean, the guy works like a dog. He's got two kids. He's running multiple shows stop doing and his wife's a doctor. 'cause I heard his wife's a doctor in our. That's gotta be trying and to stop putting all those words in the book's. He hasn't taken my advice. Once he takes my advice. He's gonna be so happy. He's not going to be angry at anybody the world. But I think he's gonna keep putting words in them. He should right. A comprehensive guide to writing by Michael known. That's what it'd be more book for Michael Knowles and his by Ben Shapiro. But this point confide that's going to be might. It's like Strunk and white. That's going to be the guide to writing the principles of writing. By Michael Ryan wants to know is the GOP better. Wore off a I'm sorry better off or worse off with never Nancy as the speaker of the house for Democrats or would Republicans be better if they found someone else to be the democratic leader, this is a confusing? What you phrased it? Because when I think of never Nancy, I think of Alexandria, Casio quartet, I sixteen congressman that were against her of others ANSI being the speaker. We are way better off with Nancy Pelosi is the speaker. She is superb speaker for Republicans, we have spent zillions of dollars vilifying this woman. Not that we really needed to. She's done a good job of it herself. She's a she's a week adversary. I mean, she's a she's a good adversary. But she's a weakened leader as she doesn't have a ton of support within her own party..
