How Does Your Mind Affect Your Joy?

"David I talk often about the early days of the ministry and how hard we worked and. The little tiny meetings that we had. And Dreaming Of This Day? Hoping to see the day I. Remember when I was just believing that just God if just one hundred people show up today. That took years. And You know it was hard sometimes to hang onto that dream. And there were jillion times when I wanted to quit. But that's exactly what the devil wants you to do. Can I tell you? It does not take any courage to quit. Anybody can do that but only strong people. Can Hang on to your dreams when there's nothing. No reason to making ever think that it would come to pass accept what God has put in your heart. Man. Now, another thing that we have floating around the inside of us that I personally think is one of the most important things. Motives. God is not nearly as concerned with what we do as why we do it. And I want to add that no matter what you're doing if you're doing it for the wrong reason, you cannot enjoy your life. Only works done with ripe. Motors will be awarded a RB satisfying. Matthew six, one, three, seven. Yes. I said seven verses. Be careful not to practice your righteousness front of others to be seen by them. It doesn't mean that. People can't see you doing good works, but it means if you do them on purpose in front of them to be seen by them. Guess what? You have no reward. You get reward. So. When you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets. As the hypocrites do synagogues and on the streets to be honored by others. Truly. I tell you they have received their reward in full already. But when you give to the needy, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. What does that mean? I believe that even after we do something really good for somebody, we're not even supposed to sit around and think about how good we were. An. I read one book a long time ago. That says love stays in the shadows until it's needed and steps out and does its work. And goes back into the shadows? Waiting for the next two opportunity. When you give to the needy don't let your left-hander right hand is doing so that you're giving may be in secret. And Your father who sees what is done sacred will reward you openly. Do you know how hard it is to do something really good for somebody and nobody know but you God? You know why? Because the flesh craves credit It just wants a little pat. A little odd. I've told this story before, but it's been a while since I've told it so. If you've heard it again. Don't apologize you just probably need to hear it now. Probably. This has been over thirty years ago and I'm glad to be able to say that but it wasn't yesterday but. Anybody here remember those days when he's big Jesus rhinestone Jesus pins were popular. How many have you ever had a rhinestone Jesus Pin. Come on there's only three of us in here that old. Lord help me. Anyway they were a big thing and so. I was nail shop one day getting my nails done. There was somebody else in there getting there's done and they were talking about being a nurse in hospital and how hard it was to see people in such bad shape and not even able to talk to them about God because it was against hospital policy and. So I had this thought. That, was from God. Giver that. Bright. Shiny pin you were and tell her that if she aware that are uniform even when she lanes over patients a nice say the name, Jesus? It'll bless them and help them. But I felt like supposed to do it in secret and I didn't know how in the world I was going to do that sense. There was a girl they're working on me and Lo and behold the girl working on me said, you know what joys just ran out of a product here that I need. I'm going to have to run next door to the supply house and get it. So, God opened up the door. For me to get no attention. He made a way. For him to get all the Laurie. As, though I sat there while that girl was gone wrestling with myself. About ready to do it now are white until the girl came back. I'd like to tell you I did the right thing but I didn't. I sit there and wait at night even told myself. I might really bless her to see my generosity. Might. Be a good example to her and so she came back and. When I got finished I took the Pan and I took it over to the girl and I said I want you to have this I felt like God told me that if he would just wear it on your uniform and you know And everybody I got just exactly what I want all. That is so nice. You are so kind. That is so sweet. And as I walked out the door to go to my car, I heard the Lord Whisper my heart. I hope you enjoyed that Joyce because that's all the reward you're getting.

How Do You Talk To Yourself About Yourself?

"Is something you need to think about it I want you to think about this what's going on in me? Well first of all a lot of self talk. Talk to yourself about yourself. I got some guilty people over a new so. So. Stupid. I can't ever do anything. Right? I'm bad. I'm ugly. You know. Don't think are say negative things about yourself when you do, you're just agreeing with the devil. Now. Here's a good one. What do you think that God thinks of you? You. Know the Bible says that his thoughts toward us or more than the grains of sand. On all the beaches. In the World God has got you on his mind. All the time. So I thought this morning okay joys. What do you think God thinks of you? And I thought. He loves me. He likes me. He's proud of me. I believe he's pleased with me. You might be thinking well, you sound like you're fully yourself. I don't that doesn't mean that I do everything right? The God sees my heart. And I may not do everything right but I, sure want to. And I've given my life to this. You need to stop thinking that God's mad at you about half the time. And believe the Bible says he rejoices over you with joy. God is, Dana over you. He so happy with you do not happy that you're here today instead of somewhere else. He was so glad you were here last night about getting a hangover. That went out and got drunk last night and felt so bad this morning you couldn't even get out of bed and I wouldn't that have been fun.

Joy and Enjoyment

"Circumstances happens. Someday might not be able to do this anymore of already decided if I can't I'm just as important then as I am now. Because you're worth is not tied to what you do. It's who you are and who you belong to. And? Don't just work and save all your money. So someday, you can sit around and do nothing. I mean, surely we can have a better goal in life than that. I'm at least if you want to retire not work anymore than. Volunteer for something make plans to. Travel and go on trips but don't just sit around every day and be cranky for your kids to take care of. ECCLESIASTES, these five, eighteen, and nineteen. This is what I've observed. Good. That is appropriate for person to eat drink and defined satisfaction in their work. Under the Sun during the few days of life that God has given them. For this is their lot moreover when God, gives someone wealth. and. That's all of us and possessions and the ability to enjoy them. To accept their lot and be happy in their toil, this is a gift from God. Don't work but enjoy your work. Now. Dig Thing. I'M GONNA, say here learn to enjoy your life. Not. The. One that somebody else got that you want. CanNot Be, jealous, and envious and enjoy yourself. When I don't understand need nobody's asking you understand. God's just asking you to embrace. What he's given you. The bloom where your planet. See Our whole job here in the is to glorify God. It's not to get ahead and be the president of the company and you know be world famous and it's just to Gore Fi gone. And to enjoy God, serve God enjoy God enjoy being God's child enjoy the little corner of life that he has given you. So what if your house is not as big as somebody else's are you can't buy as expensive as close as somebody. Else's are you white ten pounds more than somebody else does. Those are not the things that are Joyce should be tied up in. Most of life is ordinary, but you can learn to enjoy it. I got more message than I. Got Night Left. I think. Mark Four Twenty Six, and twenty seven. He Jesus, also said, this is what the Kingdom of God is like a man scattered seat on the ground night and day he sleeps or gets up the sage sprouts and grows though he does not know how. The sage sprouts God is working but in the meantime we have to deal with a lot of ordinary life you plant your seeds of faith. You plant your financial seeds in the Kingdom of God and you believe that God is working and while you're waiting, you enjoy the life that you have. We have to get over this thinking I'll enjoy life win I'll be glad and Quinn. Not. Win Now. Come on everybody say now. All right now. Something that. God has been showing me and this. This sounds so simple you're going to say. I know that. But. I, think it may help. A lot of you. All right so Here's a way. This is my little secret trick. Here's the way that you can enjoy everything. You, do you wake up in the morning? You. Want to. Get. Up. I don't want to go to work. I don't want to drive in traffic. I don't want to hear these kids. Dread it all but I guess I'll get up and do it. Okay. When I wake up now and I lay there and think. I really don't particularly want to get up then I think. Thank God I've got feet. Thank God but I don't have to have somebody put me in a wheelchair before I can get up but I can actually get up and walk to my bathroom and walk out to my kitchen and make myself a cup of coffee in my lovely little coffee pot and sit in my recliner and look out my window and drink my coffee and talk to Jesus because I am so.

Peaks and Tides Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2018

"Stay home. Cheap wine fighter dot com summit again with another. Why Review. In kind of a companion podcast for wine picked up all. All he's been. Doing well lately and this one's called. Let me grab the bottle so I don't screw it up. Peaks in tied. Sonoma's coach Chardonnay Twenty, eight, eighteen. And peaks and tides kind of. Describes the SONOMA's coast. Ava that's. mainly. A Boutique area that specializes in Chardonnay and new are. It's up along the coast. It's In between coastal mountains it's cold. There's not a lot of huge vineyards in there. It's more boats tiki their commercial vineyards within a big. But it's. Really good growing area. And I want to a snow coast trade event a few years back. and kind of picked up gossip I. Think I would call it because it'd be wine reps and then there would be winemakers and they were kind of upset. That when the SONOMA's coast Aba was set, their boundaries are set up. Some of the bigger. Huge actually. Well established. Literally connected wineries and Wine Corpse. Kinda got the the boundaries moved to cover the Russian river eastward just to cover some of the bigger properties. And the guys kind of upset and I just noticed that Petitioned to have a western SONOMA'S COAST AV A. Now I don't know what the problem is because even the Russian river ones those are really high on liner isn't really good wines. I. Don't get what the problem is. You know maybe it's a small guy versus little guy I don't know. But, that's what they were doing and they were seemed to be all upset about it. So you know that's just gossip me sitting here with a glass by hand listening to winemaker stock. So this is a SONOMA's coast Chardonnay. If you check out your Google look. The the town in the back they said peaks and tides made it. I don't know if there is a pig's entites company, but you can figure out who the winemaker might or the liner or one of their entities might be. It's not a foolproof method of who the biggest Winery in town is, but it usually gives you a good clue. GonNa take a sip of this one. This is a really good nine, ninety, nine Chardonnay. It's got some oaken full Benatti huge amount. Let's got this kind of honey rounded thing going on it's got all sorts of flavors. I mean I got banana and pineapple. Meyer. Lemon and NAPA grapefruit and you've got on least salty thing. It's got some lemon. Vanilla cream. It tastes good. It smells great. It's got a great enrollment to I was Kinda digging that. So for ninety nine in any don't expect all these displays, these wines. So haphazardly that you you know. You don't have an expectation just by looking though this label and this line they also have a pretty good Cabernet. Sauvignon thing that I thought it's up. You know I'm not sure about that one. The packaging looks like it could be any kind of retail brand in back of genes fine. And it tastes good really good at for ten bucks and can delivers maybe over delivers. Ten Bucks will buy you a good Chardonnay out as ten twelve dollars you can you really, really good. But this is to in itself storebrand again, all these been kind of kick in some but I kind of liken it.

Midnight Sun: Twilight fans feel young again as new book arrives

"A fan of the twilight, Siri's You've got something new to sink your teeth into. For the first time in a decade, Stephenie Meyer is back with a new book, Midnight Sun. It's a return to the world of love, Romance and the undead. And this book is a retelling of her debut novel, Twilight. In twilight is sweet and beautiful. Bella told you the story. This time. That same story is told from the perspective of Edward the dark and do me vampire. These books are pretty much as Bigas books can get. They've sold hundreds of millions of copies around the world that created a community of fiercely loyal fans. They've led to a Siri's of hit films. The road to writing. This new book has been a tough one for Stephanie, and there was even a time she said she'd given up on it for good. Stephanie spoke to Tom Power aboutthe one person who convinced her to return to midnight sun and how she eventually found her way back to the world she created. The one that changed her life. Listen to this. Stephanie, How are you? I'm great. Thank you so much for having me. It's a pleasure to have you. This is a weird interview for me. I'm not gonna lie to you because you know at the time were talking security around this book around midnight. Sun is so tight. I couldn't even get a chance to look at the book. It's completely under wraps to prevent any leak. So just tell me about that. What's it like for you to be sitting on top of something that so many people are just dying to get their hands on? Well, it's ah, sometimes a little bit stressful. However, on this one, it's a little bit hard to spoil. Basically, everyone knows the plot already, so it's not like anyone could say. Oh, my gosh. This happens because everyone already knows that So Ah, it's not quite a stressful that usually is. Obviously nobody wants it, Tio. Leak early, but don't really spoilers. Yeah, And I want to talk about that lack of spoilers in a second, But like, are you Are you excited? Or are you nervous? It still is a new work coming out in some ways. Yeah. I mean, I'm a deeply anxious person. So I'm always nervous, Excited is is not an emotion. I experience a lot nervous is definitely kind of a common one. I'm you know what kind of say something with anxiety. It is comforting to know that even when someone gonna reaches your heights, he's dealer get anxious. That makes me feel sort of better. I actually think it makes it worse. The anxiety like it's not like you get to a place where I have been successful. So now I no longer feel anxiety. I think you get the I have been successful. So clearly, I'm an imposter and everyone's going to figure that out. That's where that I thought that would go away by. You know, like the third book, maybe you No, no, it just gets worse. Oh, well, that's that's somehow good to know and disheartened at the same time, But I mean, speaking up, but this is sort of this. This. This This is a stage for you with this book that could be described as either kind of like a serene calm before the storm or sort of like a purgatory. Like, you know, these are the last moments in this that this book just belongs to you. I mean, is that is that bittersweet that you're about to Put it out there, or do you feel like celebrating? Um it's at the bittersweet is definitely the feeling. I mean, honestly, the way I get through life is by not thinking about these things, so I just sort of live in this world where nothing's happening. I haven't read many books. There's nothing to worry about. And then Every now and then I have to step out of that little dream world and Deal with the reality of it, but Yeah, it's it's always hard to put your Your work out into the world because you know, while there'll be people who who like it, there will be people who don't and no matter how many people like that you always feel bad about those that don't So that's that's always a harder thing. So let's talk about this. This untucked about herbal book that is somehow unspoiled Obel insupportable at the same time, Let's talk about it for a second. What I understand this is a retelling of the first novel of twilight from the point of view of a different character. For those of listeners who aren't familiar. You know, this time we see the story through the eyes of Edward the Vampire while the original was narrated by the female lead, Bella, Am I on the right track? Yep. So I understand that it's Darker, even though it is the same story. It's told from a different perspective. And you said that made it a bit darker. Could you tell me about that? Guess so. Bella, comparatively, is very happy. Go lucky character like she is 100% in for falling in love and having a happy ending. Edward. On the other hand. Because of what he is and how he views himself doesn't really see himself as worthy of love. And he doesn't believe that there is a happy ending impossible for him and Bella, so he's pretty Pessimistic the entire time. This is all going to end in horror and tragedy. That's his mindset. And it's all his own fault because he shouldn't have done any of things that he did. He's field spiraling and guilt having massive amounts of indecision and self doubt. So it's It's just Ah, harder place to be, I think also, it is. Ah, lot more realistic to my own mental statement, Then Bellas is I was about to say, I mean, we just talked briefly about like how you know even when you have massive success it, But that doesn't mean You're not anxious. And yeah, you're right. It does sound like you're writing about your own experience in some ways through Edward. Well, I've always felt like I am. Closer to Edward in opinions and how I see the world and when I was writing toilet, I don't think his I think people saw him is a very confident Person. He was very sure of himself. He seemed in control of any given situation. But meanwhile, I was always aware of where his head was even 15 years ago. So to me, the things that were coming from him made perfect sense. But I don't know if they came across In a way that was clearest what was really going on. I suppose all narrow it depending on how surprised people are by midnight sun or if they saw it coming, is it? Do you learn something new about the story? Reading it from me the story that you wrote. Originally, Do you learn something about writing through the perspective of a different character? Little things like I said, I was I was aware of Where Edwards has heads was when I was writing twilight, so it's not a huge revelation. But there are moments where you're like, Oh, So this to him is not a book with a happy ending. Okay? I wasn't expecting that. You know things like that.

Orlando Magic's Jonathan Isaac explains why he didn't take knee or wear Black Lives Matter shirt Friday

"We had an incredible opening weekend of games name a star level player that player delivered at least once if not twice over the first three or four nights of the NBA's restart here in Orlando, we had crazy comeback wins. By the Houston Rockets, we had a dominant performance by. Jaanus over some little pesky pip squeak team from New England I forget who they might be. We got Marcus smart got fined for trying to work the officials. We've got storylines upon story lines. The clippers bounce back from their loss to the Lakers. Looking excellent and just throttling the New Orleans Pelicans. There's so many different directions that we can go Michael that I decided. Here's what we're GONNA do opening weekend heaters we're GONNA have just open ended questions are we're going to ping pong back and forth you give me your answers I'm going to give you my answers to these questions and try to cover as much ground as possible before we get there though I do want to double back quickly on the national anthem demonstrations that we touched on last episode, we got so many thoughtful emails from various members of the open floor globe on this subject, but I think there was a major development after we spoke on Friday. and. That involve Jonathan Isaac Meyers. Leonard Gregg Popovich Becky Hammon and one of the NBA referees all deciding to not kneel to not really participate in what had been in unified demonstration on Thursday. All of those people who chose to stand were obviously doing it on principle and they were doing it knowing there was going to be a lot of attention their direction. Now, if you look at Popovich amend the referee essentially, they were trying to just say, Hey, I support the the Social Justice Movement it's it's a private or personal decision for the referee said look I it's important to me to stand Meyers Leonard made a similar comment. Essentially. Saying that his brothers military service in the in the military service of close people in his life led him to WanNa stand to salute the flag. But within Isaac was a slightly different case and he actually used this entire demonstration opportunity to almost have a one man demonstration of his own. In his belief, the idea of the black lives matters movement quote unquote doesn't go hand in hand with supporting black lives. He also said that you know we shouldn't be necessarily judging things solely based on skin color that we should be trying to live a life basically you know in God's mold and try to live up to his standard, and that Jesus Christ was his personal savior and and that he wanted everyone to focus on that. Aspect of of living rather than the particular issue that was being brought forward with the black lives matter movement by the players he didn't really get any major pushback. Within the NBA Community people respected his right to make a stand. He actually not only did he stand during the national anthem? He didn't wear a black lives matter t shirt which many people notice because he was essentially the only player not to do that his whole personal story Michael took a crazy twist over the weekend and sad twist when he wound up tearing his ACL injury that's going to end his time here in Orlando obviously but also could cost him all of next season. So now talk about a whirlwind seventy, two hours for player who generated millions of us with his comments about the protests. I'm curious. Let's start with Jonathan Isaac. What did you make of his decision? After we've seen things settle in the last couple of days You know maybe it doesn't seem quite as Eye Opening as it did at that moment, but I'll admit I was I was surprised to see given the buy in from everybody on opening night. Right, I mean I just WanNa Start and say that it it really really is a bummer to see anyone get injured but particularly is ICK who was already on restriction he was already playing with a humongous brace on his leg from a previous injury that cost him a majority of this regular season before it was suspended. So I just I feel for him greatly. I I think generally speaking. The coverage of who stands in who sits I mean we talked about this heading in anticipated it I. Think I think the coverage is generally besides the point and it doesn't really get the point I feel like people are using. This as an opportunity to shame those who are standing in a little bit I mean Meyers Leonard. said, he couldn't sleep before he made the decision to stand and that's just like not. The whole focus or the point here right like. You can obviously Support Black lives and also stand for the national anthem. It is a symbolic gesture that is what it is in the case of Isaac. I really had a difficult time understanding even what his message was until you interpreted it the way that you did I mean I watched the clip of Him Multiple Times survey there I'm GonNa just GonNa read what he said I and then we can use that as a jumping off point because I don't WanNa torture what he said earlier and I might have done that. So sorry for that. He says quote absolutely I believe that black lives matter kneeling while wearing a black lives matter t shirt doesn't go hand in hand with supporting black lives. I. Don't think kneeling or putting on a T. shirt for me personally is the answer i. Feel like for me, black lives are supported through the Gospel. All lives are supported through the Gospel. We all have things that we do wrong. Sometimes, it gets into a place of pointing fingers. We all fall short of God's glory whoever will humble themselves and seek God and repent of their sins. We can see our mistakes and people's mistakes and evil in a different light. Racism isn't the only thing that flags our society, our nation and our world, and he basically said he wanted this conversation to get out of the realm of skin color because the answer to all of our problems in everything that goes on in our world is Jesus. So. when I watched the clip. I'll I'll be honest. I was a little confused where he was going to after typing it all out trying to marinate on what he was saying I think he essentially wanted to have a demonstration on behalf of his religious beliefs and that this was an opportunity for him to say look you know focusing only on one particular group I. Guess in his view, the black lives matter group and you know everybody wearing a t-shirt doesn't necessarily achieve the wider goal which would be presumably healthy living. OSCAR: NASA is developing tech for turning trash into gas in space

"Orbital sin gas commodity. Augmentation reactor is an early career initiative that studies technology to convert trash and human waste into useful gases such as methane, hydrogen, and Carbon Dioxide by processing small pieces of trash and a high temperature. Reactor Oscar is advancing innovative technology for managing waste in space. Here's Anne Meyer, a chemical engineer at Nasr's Kennedy Space, center? So on a one year mission crew four would produce around twenty five, hundred kilograms of trash. We can convert over ninety five. percent of that solid trash into gas it's enough gas that you can convert into a fuel that could do things like course, correct spacecraft or used to send a small payload from the surface of the Moon or Mars. But what could Oscar mean to us on earth? Especially, in the United States we see a lot of landfills and the same technology developed for space travel could be used to process our solid trash right here at home

Walking in Faith So You Can Run Your Race

"Messages. Christianity doesn't begin with a do. It begins with a done. Know who we are in Christ Adams First, day, on earth was not a day of work. It was a day of rest. He was created on the sixth day, and the seventh day was a day of rest, God blessed the seventh day. He rested on that day. So I think it's interesting that Adam began and rest. He didn't begin work. and. We need to realize that that God didn't call us to work real hard to change ourselves, so we could be real good. He wants us to have relationship with him, and then wanting to do the right thing will come out of the overflow of that relationship with him is not gonNA come, because we try really hard to be good. Are. Try really hard to change ourselves. Well Jesus are high priest. And he doesn't have to atone for his sins because he never sent. However he came in the form of a human, so he knows everything that we go through. We have a high praise. Hebrews four says that understands our weaknesses an iron. Because, he's been tempted in all points just like we have yet without sin, so he knows every patient that we go through. He experienced. Do, but yet he never sin. So he made the final sacrifice. And the Bible says that when he ascended on high, now get this. He sat down. And I started getting interested in why it says so often in the Bible that he sat then. To Him who is seated on the throne well, that should've said a lot more to the Jewish people than it does to us, but they didn't understand I can explain this to you today and say under that old covenant. There was no chair in the holy of holies. There was no place for them to rest no way to rest, but now Jesus. Sits. When he won the Bible says can sat down I. Mean that should have been like. We should have been doing the Hallelujah song before. He sat down. It's over Hallelujah Hallelujah. Can enjoy the in a Christian. I'm not a singer, so. That's why they didn't give me a microphone up here. But the better news. Even the better news is down in Hebrews two six where it says and we are seated in Christ with him in heavenly places. Do. You realize that being in Christ everything he got you get. Now we can live our lives to a vantage point of. Being seated in Christ, which means we can do everything we do. Having entered the rest of God. The rest got offers us as a super natural rest, and it's not arrest from work, but arrest in work in other words. Not You know this is my third time to do this. Since starting at seven o'clock last night, and so my body will be tired, but my inner man is renewed because what I'm full of life inside, even though my outer man is getting a little bit tired and I'll be tired or the time I get home. By the time I eat my dinner I'll be like. But inside. Come on church if you got it inside. If you got that life inside the Apostle Paul said. My Outer Man Perish is day by day, but my inner man is renewed a man. I'll be seventy seven and four months, and I just feel so alive inside. Inside it's what you got going for you inside. Worrying so much about everything that's going on outside your findings and your kids and your neighbors What's going on inside? Christ is in me the same power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me. I can do whatever I need to do through Christ. Who Strengthens me?

How to Stand Strong in Every Season of Life

"A baby when they first start walking. They prefer to hold onto something. And we're like that too, and that's okay in the beginning. You want props. You want people to help you and so every time you get in trouble you, you call somebody you know you need to be encouraged into. People always have to keep you propped up, but the time comes when God's GonNa. Kick all those props out from under you and you'RE GONNA have to face the enemy yourself and learn how to stand strong. And then be strong for other people. Well this man was still laying there, depending on everybody else. Everybody else always gets ahead of me well. You know what I think I think in thirty eight years. Even if I couldn't walk, I think I could have wiggled. Thirty eight years come on. Surely, he could've wiggled over to the edge of that pool in thirty eight years. And had this attitude next year. When that angel comes I'm going to be the first in this pool or I'm going to drown trying. You know what Jesus said to him. He didn't say oh. You poor guy. Oh Wow thirty eight years and nobody. Puts you in. And everybody always gets ahead of you. No wonder you're down in life. Why Jesus get up. Get up. In the Bible there's a big exclamation mark. And then he said clean up your bed and take it with you. I like that not only does God. Want us to get up wants to clean up our mess that we've made all those years that we were lying around the Muffin. Six. Says that versus twelve and thirteen our struggle is not against flesh and blood. But. It's against the rulers, the authorities the powers. Of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. So we're fighting a war where we're in a war, but it's spiritual war. It's not a natural war. How are how are you going? beat the devil up. You can't double up your fist and hit him. You can't choke him. You can't knock him down. We have to fight him spiritually. Bursts rt says therefore put on the full armor of God. So that win, the day of evil comes you. Don't wait until you're in trouble to put on the armor of God. You wear it all the time. And the armor that God gives us. It's spiritual on her. It's not like a suit of armor like a night would have worn. It is truth the Bible says. Tightened the belt of truth. When you're standing your ground, tighten the belt of truth that means hang onto the word of God like never before. When it seems like none of it's working for you. Hang onto it like never before. Don't let the enemy steal it from you. I love Romans Eight. where it says sometimes we looked like sheep being led to the slaughter, but right in the midst of all of these things we are more than conquerors. Got To remember that when you look like a sheep being led to the slaughter. Come on somebody in that place right now. You tell somebody you know. There's not a believer that you've got victory and they think he's lost your mind. Cause Today on. You looked like none of this is working. A man, and that's what the devil wants you to believe. None of those work and you're wasting your time. But that's when you tighten that belt of truth, and you say my breakthrough WorldCom God is faithful. It's righteousness. It's knowing who you are in Christ. The breastplate of righteousness it covers your heart. The shoes of peace. The helmet of salvation. If you're going to be a Christian learned, think like a Christian. Lifting up the shield of faith. Not Good enough just to drag it around with you when those fiery darts come you lift it up. That's what I did this morning. When the Devil said you're done, you're preaching. House is good as it used to be. In the spirit. Lifted up my shield of faith. Wire went right on studying. I tell you those things because I want you to know that. No matter how long you're welcome with God. The enemy is still going to try to lie to you. It may be fewer and further between but. I think about that and I think how amazing. After all these years, and all the thousands and thousands of sermons, that I'm preached, why in the world in the middle of my studying? What I hear something like that because Satan is a liar, and he always wants to make you now here this doubt yourself.

Stay Seated in God's Supernatural Rest

"My message this weekend. Sit stand walk and run. Now that might sound like. What's that about well? H., one of those things. The Bible tells us to do to sit. To stand strong in God to stand against the enemy. And wait for our breakthrough. To Walk in God. To Walk in love to walk in faith to walk in peace. and to run our race. But. We have to do it in that order. See. I believe that God has an order. In the kingdom. And so if you start out trying to run your a new Christian, and you start out trying to run your race, and you got this big vision from God and you want to do this big thing. But you have never learned to. Sit Yet. Then, you're just gonNA, be frustrated. I actually believe if you've got a big vision from God. And you don't know how. To Rest in God, while God is making it happen, I think it least almost kill you. I think the pressure of trying to make something happen yourself. Of trying to. Carry all the burdens all the caves. Even trying to raise several children if you don't know how to arrest in God. So several years ago, I began to notice. I know God was calling attention to it, but after Jesus's resurrection every time the Bible talks about him. It talks about him as being seated. He. That sat on the throne. And so I started really kind of taking an interest in that and. Just thinking. What's that all about? These were Jesus on the Cross. He said it is finished. And so the work that he was sent to do was done. and He. Ascended on high and sat down. At the right hand of God there to wait until his enemies would be made a footstool for his feet. Now I'm going to say something interesting to you. I want you to get this. I believe that knowing how to rest in God when the enemies coming against you is one of the highest forms of spiritual warfare. Man. So we're just going to at some scriptures and kind of get into this and. I know you're gonNA hear one part of it tonight but I believe God will give you what you need tonight and give the rest of them what they need tomorrow. Father Thank you for the word. We pray that it will penetrate hearts, and that it will not be forgotten in Jesus name Amen. Asians. One, thousand nine hundred, twenty two. And so that you can know and understand. What is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of his power. How many of you believe God is powerful. But. You don't want to miss this in and far us. You didn't get it and and for us. He just doesn't have power, but that power is in. and Far us who believes. Who believe now you can believe that you're weak and that you can't if you want to. But I've decided the believe. That I'm strong in that I can. As demonstrated in the working of his mice drink which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead, so the same power that raised Christ from the dead dwells us. And seated him. At his own right hand. In the heavenly places. Everybody, say seated. And then it goes on to say that he's far above all ruling authority and power and every name that his name. And all things have been put under his feet. And you know this important to us because I'm going to show you a scripture in a minute and a phases to that says that we are seated in him. So I'm actually in two places tonight. I'm walking around here on this farm, but spiritually I'm seated. In heavenly places with Christ, and that sated Maine's one thing. I've entered the rest of

Peacock is live: Heres everything you need to know

"He caught. The last of the big streaming services has finally launched nationwide, but at joint a crowded room, streaming services, including busy, plus and that Blix. So how does this stack up? I'm Roger, Chang into your daily charge. Beckley I don't have to answer that question because with me. Is Our media expert, John? Salzman and software services. Reviewer Alison. Danisco, welcome both you. Thanks all right so John with you. He is live after having launched in Beta mode to caucus users a couple months ago, so so give us a land now. What is the streaming wards landscape? Look like this is basically the last of the big new services to land at least as far as we know. We had apple and Disney plus come in November than we had depending if you consider it bigger. Bigger not clubby came in April followed by Hbo Max in May, and now finally we have peacock, and it's a little bit different than the rest of those, because it not only is, it has big budget originals big back catalog, like most of those other services do, but it's also doing some other things that are digging a little bit when the others I it has. It's going to have live news. Life sports other sorts of news and sports replays highlights that kind of thing and crucially has a free tear at as a tier with advertising we can watch about two thirds of the catalog just by signing up and not paying anything there are ways you can take out the ads and unlock the full catalogue if you WanNa pay, but having that sort of on ramp that free just sign up and start watching thing. It's something that these other big services in the streets haven't tried yet. Yeah, I would just sort of generally speaking. Have we talked about the free cheering a bit but? In terms of these other players out there have any cover merged as must have service to rebel Netflix's certainly a streaming service, the new streaming service that's landed with the biggest slash by far is Disney plus. One media analyst when it launched last year there was one media analyst and widely followed one who called it one of the greatest product launches of all time. To give you a sense. Track Google search trends around these launch dates, and the Google search trends for Netflix are a good baseline. You know it's established. It's always very popular as a search gives you a good baseline of how other services stack up and people, search addressed most of these other services. They haven't crossed the level of net search interest, even on launch days, whereas Disney plus like quadrupled the amount of Netflix interests on its launch day now it's come down since then, but among these new services Disney is the one to beats, and nobody has even come close so far. Are also you've been testing out the service. How has the experience on Peacock Ben? Overall I've been having a really positive experience with peacock so far to be honest. I wasn't expecting all that much. Since we do already have Sumani streaming services, but the fact that it has this free tier is John mentioned where you can still watch. Tons of movies and TV shows with ADS does make it stand out from competitors like Netflix and Hulu it gives you something for free that similar to say a Pluto TV or a to B, but with this premium streaming. Streaming service interface, so it looks really good, and you also have the opportunity to upgrade if you want to. It's pretty easy to navigate. It has a few quirks, and there are some features that are still missing but overall. It's a solid free surface at launch. If you don't mind watching those ads in terms of that that user experience that the navigation the experience itself. How does it stack up against DISAPP- loss or Netflix's or some other more Polish premium services so in. In my mind, peacock isn't quite trying to be a Netflix or Hulu or HBO Max. It has a similar tile layout, and you can browse things by TV shows and movies and get recommendations, but it's kind of doing something different, and it's probably not going to replace any of those others for you, but it's something you can get for free to have more options. It reminds me a little bit of Amazon prime video in a way like on that one you can get. Get, a lot of shows and movies included as part of your prime subscription, but you'll find others mixed in that. You do have to pay for so on peacock. You'll find some shows with a little purple feather in the corner, which means you have to upgrade premium to watch them, but they're so plenty of free options to. And since we're in this time of economic uncertainty, you know free services a welcome option, even if you don't watch it every single day, right? Joan. Beyond this free tier is there anything else about peacock that makes stand out, or the folks should know about? Yeah, definitely, the frontier is obviously the first thing that people are going to encounter when they try to sign up and they realize they don't have to provide any sort of payment information. Start watching. But beyond that you know. Being in the pandemic, there's a lot of things that peacock wanted to have available right now for its launch that aren't a manifest really until next year or later, for example, the entire reason that it's launching right now in the middle of July is that originally peacock witches, NBC's streaming service thought they'd be able to piggyback on all the interest in the Olympics. That should be happening right now. Is the broadcasting partner for the Olympics in the United States, and so of course everyone remembers every Olympic season how there's just like blanket coverage on NBC. All of NBC's other cable channels. But because we don't have that until next year, that's a huge driver to get people interested and knowledgeable that that the service exists. That just doesn't exist right now. Also their originals. They have nine original series at launch, but just like everybody else all their production of new content. At least any live action content had to be suspended in March, and so they don't have as much in their pipeline. That's going to be ready to release win. They had hoped to release it as have if we weren't in this situation where everybody's lockdown the also could you break down the? Tiers, obviously, there's the free cheer that's at basement. What are you getting with those I? Think there's two different paid tears. He kinda run through them. And you actually get sure so in the free tear you get thirteen thousand hours of TV shows, Movies News Life Sports. Some of the biggest name shows you'll find. There are and Recreation, Thirty Rock, law and order. Order Svu but you know. Some of those are also currently on Netflix and Hulu to so there's some confusion there potentially, and you also know that the office won't be coming to peacock until January when it's calm when his contract with Netflix runs out, but in the meantime you'll also find current episodes of NBC shows one week later on that free tier. In terms of movies, you've got some big slightly older hits like Jurassic Park the Bourne identity, the Matrix and also newer kind of Oscar Z. ones like phantom thread and tally, and so for something. That's free. You'll probably find something. You WanNa Watch, but then you'll also find these two paid tears. One is five dollars a month which gives you access to the full Peacock Library which is about twenty thousand hours of TV, and movies, but you'll still see ads on that one. If you WANNA GO AD free. It costs ten dollars a month and you'll get still get that full libraries well. A few things you'll find on the premium tears, but not the free tier are all of the episodes of peacock originals, the major one launch being brave new world, and you'll also find more new movies and also next day access to new episodes of current. NBC shows one interesting thing that we haven't really seen before is that you'll get early access to some shows like late night with Seth Meyers and the tonight show. Show with Jimmy Fallon the night that they air, so you can watch them at eight PM instead of eleven thirty pm, but that would actually start until those shows are back in the studio and not running from home during the pandemic. Okay We've talked about this before, but they're just too many strips out there. They're all asking for money. Yes, peacock has a free tier, but there's clearly they want people to. Upgrade to these premium tears. How does market support so may services Comey Services? Can a household actually afford to pay for so from the experts that I've talked to and the research that they've been doing? It seems like there's a couple of interesting things going on one is that the total number of streaming services that people are subscribed to and are trying is going up now. That's partially because in the. The pandemic so many entertainment choices that we normally would that normally would keep us from streaming aren't happening right now, and we're all locked up in our homes, and so it's the primary way other than regular TV. Your needs that you would entertain yourself when you're stuck at home anyway, that's to do with it, but even before the pandemic. We were starting to see that all. This wave of new services what starting to tap higher, the amount of services people were trying and also subscribing to. But what we've found in the pandemic from the research that I've seen as that people are also much more willing to cancel subscriptions so. It's mostly price sensitivity factor as you know. Jobless numbers are soaring, and as people are reconsidering howl. They dedicate their money every month. Once they hit the point where a free trial ends or this ends. They're more willing to quit. Because they become more educated on other options that don't require payment that conserve their entertainment needs, you know. Alison, she mentioned to be There's other ones like that. That are free services that peacock sort of straddles the line with people are realizing that they have those options to if they don't WanNa, keep paying

There's only one thing that you can do about forgiveness when you sin is asked for it receive it and be amazed. Did you hear me ask FARC? And be amazed. And I think if we would learn more about just receiving the goodness of God. We would live more amazed than I think we would be a lot happier than what we are. Right now. Anybody understanding? Receive like these little kids did tonight. I like that little boy I said who wants to money and he's in. I'll take it. I'll take it. I've just told, you know, the word says you're looking for somebody to bliss just want you to know here. I am. Do. Here. I am you say well that that doesn't that just doesn't sound right. You don't deserve that. Well, that's what makes it exciting. Is that we don't deserve. God's not looking for somebody. That's deserving. He's looking for somebody that knows they're not deserving, but by faith will receive anyway and gore fi God for everything he does in their lives. That's why it's so amazing. When you take somebody that has lived such an awful terrible ridiculously sinful life to watch them receive the forgiveness in the mercy of God MB changed into a new creature who can let go of the past and press onto the good things that God has how could you be anything but excited about that? And how could we not want to tell other people what God has done for us? Children. Have no problem receiving what they've not deserved or earn to receive once again means to act as a receptacle or a container. And to just permit to enter our to receive whatever is being offered. But to get means to come into possession of our to obtain to go after an obtained to take by force to seize to require as a result of action or effort. Now, the bible says that innovations to eight nine we want to look at this. It's our classic scriptures about salvation for it is by grace. God's unmerited favor that you are saved delivered from judgment and made a partake of Christ salvation through your faith, and their salvation is not of yourselves of your own doing it came not through your own striving. But it is the gift of God not because of works. Not the fulfillment of the laws demands. Lest any man should boast. It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do. It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do. No matter. How many good works? We did. We could never make up for our sin. Only Christ could do that. And he has already in fact done that. This is why the gospel is such good news that to be honest. It really makes no sense at all that there's so many unhappy Christians. I mean, you're not going to hell. That ought to be enough to keep us happy for a while. Hey, man, you know, there's a lot of talk today about the conditions in the world. And surely we're living in the end times. Jesus is coming soon. You know, what that doesn't frighten me at all? I'm looking forward to it. I'm ready today. If he wants to take me. And that's a good feeling. I'm looking forward to the fullness. And the completion of all that God has for me. And you don't have to live in fear. If you know that you're born again. And if you don't know that you're born again, then we would love to help you tonight. And if you're watching television, and you don't have the assurance of salvation and you want to receive Christ as your savior, call the number on your screen right now. One of my daughters in particular was extremely messy guess organized, very forgetful and irresponsible, and I thought for sure that when she did ever leave home. That she would lose herself. And not even know where she was. And the thing that is. So funny is now that that daughter is my oldest daughter. Her name is Laura she actually she gave herself a title. She calls herself the mama jer because she manages me and my life. He takes keep takes care of all of our bills. Bronze all my errands. She keeps up with so many things for me. And she does such a phenomenal job her. And I were just talking the other day. And she said, you know, I think even for me taking on this responsibility. And seeing that God has anointed me to do. It has really helped me to grow up and even feel better about myself. You'd be surprised sometimes things that you're able to do if you'll just take a risk and step out and try to do them. I would have never in my wildest imagination ever thought that she would be taken care of me because I didn't think she. You could even take care of herself. So I'm telling you this. So you have hoped for your children that no matter where they're at now. Are gonna get a lot better. Hey, man. If you want to enjoy your life, I want you to listen, I'm getting ready to say you have to love people where they are not where you want them to be. Did you get that? You love them where they are not where you want them to be. That's exactly what Jesus does for us. He meets us where we're at in loves us where we're at. And then because of that unconditional love we respond to it by then warning to be all that he wants us to be if you give people the right amount of love and acceptance, there are a lot more likely to want to give you what you want. And if you try to force them all the time to change, another huge what I would call work of the flesh is trying to change yourself now that may sound a little bit odd because you hear preaching, and you need to do this you need to do that. And I've been telling you how you need to go home and walk in the fruit of the spirit, and how you need to go home and help other people in every single bit of that is true. But here's the problem. If you go home and try to do it without getting God involved. You're not. Going to succeed. Works of the flesh is either some plan we've come up with trying to make something happen in our life. That God is not giving us the direction to do. Our? It can be something that God has directed us to do. But we're trying to do it without God's hill. And we need to realize that no matter how many times we been successful at doing something every time you try to do it. Again, you still need. God's help. I have preached thousands.

Amen. You don't have to be afraid of that. You know why? Because whatever we need, God will give us the grace to do it when we need to do it. Our story, one time about two men that we're going to be burned at the state. The next day they run a prison cell together, and one was an old man that had a lot of experience with God. It's amazing how much fear disappears in.
