"Biden is moving on a broad front tonight to put his stamp on national policy. Leading the list. The war on covert 19, Our White House correspondent, you Michelle Sender begins our coverage. Please raise your right hand and repeat after me, a new president and a new packed agenda today On his first full day in office, President Biden was eager to hit the ground running. I'm signing, he unveiled a number of new measures. He also pledged to confront the nation's public health crisis head on. We didn't get into this mess overnight. It's gonna take months for us to turn things around. But let me be equally clear. We will get through this. We will defeat this pandemic. Into a nation waiting for action. Let me be the clearest on this point. Help is on the way. Today, he signed 10 executive orders to accelerate the distribution of covert 19 vaccines bolster their supply, along with testing by ramping up manufacturing, require mass on all public transportation and address the disproportionate impacts of the pandemic on communities of color by establishing a task force to offer recommendations. President Biden's actions are the center of a nationalized response. They stand in stark contrast to the Trump administration's approach, which relied heavily on the states to address the crisis. Today's orders also come exactly one year since the first case of covert 19 was confirmed in the US Since then, well over 400,000 Americans have died And in the last 24 hours alone, the nation reported another 4300 deaths. Obviously, we are still in a very serious situation. At the White House today. Dr. Anthony Fauci did not sugarcoat the challenges. He said that from now on the science would speak for itself. One of the things that we're going to do is to be completely transparent, open and honest if things go wrong, not point fingers but to correct them. And to make everything we do be based on science and evidence. What Dr Fauci, now the president's top medical advisor on covert, 19 also acknowledged the difficulties he had working under President Trump. I can tell you I I take no pleasure at all. And being in a situation of contradicting the president. So it was really something that you didn't feel that you could actually say something and there wouldn't be any repercussions about it. Fauci is also leading efforts to return the US to a major role in the global response to the virus. He is seeking The men tides broken by President Trump. United States also intends this morning via video conference, he addressed leaders of the World Health Organization. He spoke about President Biden to move to resume funding and staffing support for the U. N agency. He also said to the global initiative, known as Kovacs, the U. S will join in securing vaccines for poor countries. Nature Executive Wh Ose director general, in turn hailed the announcement. Thank you so much. My brother Tony. This is a good day for W. H O and a good day for global help. Beyond the pandemic, the new administration moved her unravel President Trump's hardline immigration policies, Mr Biden specifically rolled back the all inclusive approach to deportations. Instead of memo from the Department of Homeland Security last night focused on priority targets. It also paused all other deportations for the next 100 days. The president has already sent his own immigration plan to Congress. It was unveiled along with an initial 17 executive actions signed by Mr Biden hours after inauguration. Some.

Trump Administration Passed on Chance to Secure More of Pfizer Vaccine

"Tonight. The new york times reports trump administration officials past one fighter offered in late summer to sell the us government additional doses of its covid nineteen vaccines now. Pfizer may not be able to provide more of its vaccine to the united states until next june because of its commitments to other countries in a news conference today with new york governor andrew. Cuomo doctor and chief who will serve as joe biden's chief medical advisor on the nineteen said this when you have seventy five eighty percent of the people vaccinated. You have an umbrella of protection over the community that the level of community spread will be really really very low. The virus will not have any place to go when that happens. Governor is going to be entirely dependent upon how well we do. How will i do you do your health officials in getting the message out of why it's so important for people to get vaccinated because it fifty percent of the people get vaccinated then. We don't have that that umbrella of immunity over us journalist now zurich bright. He's a member of the president. Elects corona virus advisory board. Thank you very much for joining us. Really appreciate it. You've gone from being a trump administration. Whistleblower saying that the trump administration was not taking the coronavirus pandemic seriously enough to now being an advisor to the incoming president. I wanna get your reaction to this new york times report tonight that the trump administration was offered more of the pfizer vaccine which is not very close to being approved here Turned it down and now won't be able to get more until the summer possibly at the earliest lawrence. Thanks for having me on tonight. The news is really concerning as you might imagine and we are still looking into that now. We're assessing to see what actually has been ordered and what still needs to happen to ensure that we have enough vaccine doses for all americans as quickly as possible. This highlights something. I've been talking about for many months as a vaccine expert. Making vaccines is very complicated. It's a very complex process. It takes time to make the vaccine to evaluate the vaccines and then we have to ecorse review the vaccines. The fda will be doing on thursday for their safety and how well they work and then the really hard work starts and distributing those vaccines and getting them out and to healthcare centers in the hospitals and community so people can be vaccinated so we have a lot of work ahead of us and one of the greatest concerns. I have is you heard. Dr fauci share at the same time. If we don't have enough maxine soon enough to create that level of immunity in our community there were going to be faced with dealing with this pandemic and the consequences of the pandemic for much longer. Listen to more of what. Dr fauci had to say today. More people going travel over christmas if they're going to have more of those family and friends gatherings that you accurately said or an issue so if those two things happen and we don't mitigate well we don't listen to the public health measures that we need to follow that we could start to see sings really get bad in the middle of january for state or city that is facing similar problems without substantial mitigation. The middle of january can be a really dark time for us. Do you see that. Same vision of the middle of january. Dr fauci sees getting worse every day. Unfortunately we are in the middle and the dark winter that we project it we would be at if we didn't take those public health measures earlier in the year if our government didn't lead by example and and really encouraged people to follow the public health guidelines. I wearing masks avoiding crowds. That didn't happen over the last several months. We are now in what i described in may as what would be the dark winter in modern history and we are now in the and december and is likely to get much worse. I do want to say though that many people are wearing their face mask. And many people are following the public health guidelines and social distancing and actually reports. I saw just in the last week said even more people are starting to wear their masks regularly when they leave their home. That's very encouraging. And i'm very very grateful for those people who are following those guidelines. We do need to get many more people to do that though. We need to have about ninety five percent of the population wearing your face mask. Every time he leaves the house outside and inside now and keep in out of crowds and keeping away from others in small groups as much as possible. That is how we're going to control the spread of this virus until we do have sufficient vaccine available to provide that community protection that we need so desperately. When we see dr fauci appearing with governor cuomo that seems like A certain kind of concession by donald trump that would be unimaginable Donald trump had been reelected. While i can say is that we need leadership now and i'm so glad that we have a president elect biden and vice president-elect harris coming into office. I thought you see. I think you saw the news today announcing the nominee for hhs secretary and a whole group of scientists coming into lead hhs. So i'm convinced now. We have leadership coming in sciences back. And we're going to get a hold of this virus we're going to control. The pandemic ended athlete. Come in in january

"Today. The president-elect spoke to the nation about the rapidly worsening corona virus pandemic and the stalling economy. The outgoing president was nowhere to be seen tonight. Nearly fourteen and a half million corona virus cases have now been confirmed in the united stakes today alone. More than twenty four hundred more. Americans have died as overwhelmed. Hospitals across the nation struggled to cope. Healthcare workers are issuing grave warnings. We are footing. This is what about control in a way that was not controlled. March a new. Cdc forecast puts this into devastating perspective. It predicts there maybe as many as nineteen thousand five hundred deaths in the week ending december. Twenty six in that one week alone and it projects the national death toll could reach three hundred twenty nine thousand by that date this afternoon. Joe biden talked about the need to speed up the nation's response to the pandemic and about what the current administration has not done regarding covid vaccines as we inherit the public health and economic crisis. Working on a plan that will put forward for the next congress to move fast. Control the pandemic. Are you satisfied with the current plans that are underway for distributing that vaccine that the federal government is doing enough at. This point has to be done. They've on the planet on how they plan to distribute the actual vaccine to the various states. There is no detailed plan. We've seen anyway as to how you get the vaccine out of a container into an injection syringe in. Somebody's not detailed plan. As this virus spreads unchecked the cdc is for the first time urging universal use of face masks anytime. You're outside the home. Just last night. Biden said that his president he'll ask americans to mess up for one hundred days. Dr anthony fauci whose staying on to advise biden. Says he supports that he's saying. Hey folks trust me everybody for one hundred days now. It might be that after that we still going to need it but he just wanted everybody for a commitment for one hundred days. I told them. "Michael moore wants senator. Lindsey graham investigated. No not that. Michael moore michael j. more served as a us attorney in georgia appointed by president obama. He sent a letter today to georgia's state election board asking for an investigation of lindsey. Graham's phone call to george secretary of state. Brad rollins burger michael moore cites multiple georgia state. Laws that could have been violated by that phone. Call like moore's letter says based upon the public reporting of senator grains telephone call including interviews given by secretary reference burger and his staff. It appears that this was an effort by the current chairman of the united states senate judiciary committee to potentially disenfranchise georgia voters. Here's how georgia's republican secretary of state described that phone call grant called. I just assume that he was calling about the two runoffs for the senators. So i called him back and then and during our discussion. He asked to bouts match back to the envelope. The absentee ballots mashed back to the envelope. I explained our process after it went through two sets of signature match at that point. They were separating but then Graham applied for us to audit the envelopes and then throw into ballots for counties who had the highest frequency air of signatures in that. I tried to help explain the guests signature match. You couldn't tie signatures back a more. You know to those ballots with voted in person. My name is not on my ballot and so it can't be tied back to me. It's really something that's been around for over one hundred years to secret ballot joining us. Now is michael. J. more former. Us attorney in georgia a tree. More what did you hear when you heard that description from the the secretary of state knowing the law georgia as you did as you do It sounds like possible crimes. Were clicking off to you in your head. And that's what. I'm reading in your request for an investigation yet. I'm glad to lawrence and thanks for having me i. I'll tell you that when you listen to the secretary of state. It's pretty clear that he felt that. There was a strong implication that he should discard ballots. And it's not just one interview that he gave but in in a number of interviews he's given To two newspapers and other news outlets He said things. Like i really felt like he was asking me to get rid. Get rid of as many ballots. As i could and and try to count and see how i could get rid of ballots. And that's that's a problem. That's that's the classic disenfranchisement of of the voter in the tax on georgia's georgia's voters and the votes that they cast in the election. And i think the people georgia have a right to be protected in the head. It's it's a sacred right vote And and it. It seems apparent to me that that certa graham Sort of in in the georgia voting process and the canning process in my. I read your letter to them. Etre it's pretty clear wail in the conversation. And and what we'd know from the public reporting that there was a call made to the secretary that stricter the talk to Graham about the election and about the canning process and and it really sounded like he was getting an inordinate amount of pressure. What's particularly troubling. Is that his staff confirms the call and then you have a republican secretary of state who comes out and says. I'm feeling pressured. By the republican chairman of the senate judiciary committee to to throw out good votes and that it in of itself that effort to affect ballots that effort to Commit some type of election for all that that encouragement to do that those can constitute crimes in the state of georgia. So whatever i ask is at the state election board simply look into the case to use their authority to do that surtee. Wrappings burger is the chairman of that board. I assume that because he's also a witness that someone else will step in as chairman and hopefully they'll do an investigation will build some confidence in the voters and then they'll turn the results of that over to the attorney general who hope as well. We'll take a look at the case but the problem is likely that over the last five years we really sort of seen customs and norms and decency Leave our political discourse and we are in a time when tensions are And regardless of who. "Pardon power. Do you believe that you are above the law if you could partner. I'm not above the law. I never wanted anybody to be above the law. But the pardons are very positive thing for president. I think you see the way i'm using. Yes right to myself joining us. Now is laurence tribe university professor of constitutional law at harvard. He has one thirty five cases at least in the united states supreme court professor tribe. Thank you very much for joining us tonight. The table is set And i just wanna read for the audience. The the actual language of the pardon clause in the constitution. So we'll have that going into this discussion. It's simply says he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses states except in cases of impeachment and professor tribe. I'm leaning strongly toward the idea that this president can pardon himself because this clause does not say that he cannot and the majority conservative justices on the supreme court most of whom think of themselves as what they call originalists would look to that language and find nothing in that language that bars. The president from pardoning himself. So that's where. I begin on this subject now. I'm taking notes. Because now i'm going to get a free harvard logical class. Well the justices would begin. They're just as you would but they wouldn't stop there. They would also notice that in the very next section of article two section three says explicitly. The president shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed. It doesn't say accept the criminal laws. It doesn't accept violate the criminal. Lots now if it were true as donald trump said in the little segment you played but the president has the absolute power to grant himself a power of pardon to grant himself apartment which would be inaugurated for the framers through put it grant things other vehicle if he had the absolute power to grant himself a pardon and if he knew that throughout his presidency and if all presidents knew what would follow the president's do not have to follow the law. They can't be. According to the justice department indicted while they're in office and if at any time they could pardon themselves could be a secret. Pardon stick it in the resolute desk. Will the very last hour of his presidency could say oh by the way. I hereby pardon myself for any federal crime. I might have committed each from the moment. I took the oath that were the then. The president would not be below the law. He'd be above it. He couldn't be prosecuted criminally. Even if let's say took steve venice advice. When bannon a month ago posted the video on facebook recommending that of we'd be had the head of fbi. Christopher ray and we be had founded tony fao cheese the president you know has said he could just shoot someone just avenue and get away with it. This would make that literally true. There will be no limit every president would know from the very moment puts his hand on that bible and takes the oath that whatever he does or she does. During the four year term of that presidency could not been criminally prosecuted either during the presidency or ever in the future because the pardon would cover everything that president had done now. We know that the framers didn't bother saying the president cannot grant himself apart because no one in their right mind would have imagined otherwise they talked in the constitutional convention an anti federalist papers about the danger that the president might harden his cronies the people who might help him get away with impeachable offenses. He should be able to do that. They concluded that they would not put any language in the pardon. Power itself prevent that. But there wasn't a whisper of a suggestion that the president could simply make himself immune to the criminal. Laws of the united states on the contrary bay just fought a revolution in the wake of george. The third exercising extraordinary power. But even he didn't have the power to murder people and get away with it during the time that he was the chain magna carta set the baseline in the year. Twelve fifteen that. Nobody is above the law now. Why hasn't the supreme court yet spoken cannot easy answer. No president has dared trying but let him there. Try it the supreme court even a really conservative court reading the language up president and grant pardons and looking at the history and looking at the centuries old history. That people aren't to be their own. Judges would have to conclude. The either presidents can get away with murdering literally during the presidency in Forever after because they can pardon themselves or we have to look at section three which says the president must faithfully execute the law in treat that as limiting what section two says about the pardon power the constitution has lots of powers that don't contain their own limits within their four corners. But you look at the whole constitution and its history and the history of the american revolution's understand what it means. That's why i think. Any argument president can.

"Talking about the issues in a way that that that made sense but they they knew something about what they were talking about it was. It was refreshing to loosely. You almost forget the last four years. But let's listen to some of what a gene was just referring to. This is joe biden. President elect joe biden describing how he expects the process to work with the vice president and integrating the vice president into his work using his exact the example of way he worked with president obama. Whatever the most urgent need is. I'm not able to attend to. I have confidence to be turning to her. Just as wasn't that barack said well. You know joe. We're gonna have the stimulus and i want you to handle it. As was we gotta get this stimulus past. I'm working on this book. Joe you take it okay. This is what i want you to do. So unlike the previous portfolio were al al gore said. Look let me take care of. Let me do environment. Let me when. I was asked the question when i asked her. The question should know. I'll do whatever the urgent need is at the moment. That's how it's going to work. And that's how look there's not a single decision. I've made yet about personnel about how to proceed that. I haven't discussed it with with a commonly. I that's true rene. He hasn't made a decision yet without consulting his vice president elect. And that's the way it should be you know. I think we've had the situation the last four years we've had this sort of endless display of one man doing everything and deferring to no one else. He didn't need anyone else's advice and now we're seeing what it's like when to capable adults can work as a team. It's like jean said working as a unit. That's what the country wants to say you know. If they're tired of the circus they want something that works at this extremely crucial moment in this country's history and i think it was really wouldn't that both of them reiterate was like she was saying it will hold partners and he was saying well. No i mean we're gonna send it out their partners they're going to be in this together to get this country back on track we know senator bernie sanders would like to be labor secretary. He has said as much out loud. We know that. There's been talk of senator elizabeth warren Joining the cabinet. A joe biden addressed that not using any names but he talked about the now of taking someone out of the senate to the cabinet. Let's listen to that. But i think people are saying is a lot of people are saying. Am i going to pick some very very prominent and well known progressive who sits in the house or the senate right now as close as everything is in terms of the house and the senate. They are tough decisions to make to pull somebody. I'm going to badly need out of the senate and we don't reelect or have an appointment of somebody who is a democrat and so it is. I think people are gonna see not only at the cabinet level the sub cabinet level. There's already people we've appointed appoint many more but it is not again. I understand the push. I truly understand the porch gene robinson if anyone can handle the strains of and cross cross-currents of that joe biden. he.

Big Ten isn't willing participant in Trump's game of political football

"It's a very interesting thing going on these days with the big 10. It's confusing and Ah, politics is involved now because the story shifted to Donald Trump, calling the big 10 trying to get them to play football this fall. Here's the thing that's confusing to me. If if this Okay story is the big big 10 cancer Excuse me postpone their fall season. We're not planning on playing football until the winter. And then all of a sudden the story came out Well, maybe they'll try and get going by Thanksgiving and then story came out yesterday that the president had called the big 10 and talk to them about getting Bacchus soon as possible. Dan Patrick, on his show cited a source. Telling him they could start as early as October. 10th. Here's the thing that would be very surprising to me. First off at the end of the day, the president can call the entire Cabinet could call it will come down to the president's in the chancellor's at the various big 10 institutions who, just a few weeks ago, 11 of the 14 voted to not play football this fall. Concerns about testing concerns about my own card itis. To me, Nate. The thing that I have trouble getting past that it's funny when the big 10 announced they were postponing, they caught a lot of flak not just from parents and coaches in their league parents of players in the league but from people who are basically saying Hey, what happened three weeks ago. You just released your schedule. You know, we're going ahead with football in September and all of a sudden now you postpone the fall season. I didn't have a problem with that. So they gave out a schedule. Big deal. You are proceeding as normal. You're proceeding with plans. You put out your schedule. You got all this. You do all that you adjust. Okay, We're going to go conference on Lee. We're not playing you do everything as if you think you are going to start whenever they would have started Labor Day weekend or whatever it would have been. And then the president's get together. They meet they here for the medical advisors. They think. Oh, this could be really dangerous. We're not playing this fall I to me. I had no problem with the big The only problem I would have with the big 10 if I was in the room. Okay? If I were you, I would wait a few more weeks. You don't have to postpone. Today You can push camps. You can push the start your season like the sec. You khun by yourself. Maybe nothing would have changed in terms of your medical experts. But you could have bought yourself another 23 or so weeks. I don't think they're coming back. I don't think any pressure from the White House because if they come back, that's my first question. Credibility out the window thrown out three weeks ago. The presidents of these various institutions said it wasn't saving up for an athlete, he said. Basically, if you were in the room or if you heard what our medical experts were telling us You would understand why we voted 11 to 3 to not play football in the fall, So my big question would be in three weeks. What changed is there? I know they came out with it. There's a test now. A nasal swab test ID of a 15 minute turnaround. Okay, you'd also have to increase your testing. But what How do you get around the mile card itis, where they were, what At least five players diagnosed in the big 10 kidded Indiana University who's really suffering as health issues. Tied into covert and heart related issues. My question would be What changed? Over three weeks from your medical experts telling you it's just there. Too many unknowns. It's too dangerous. At a time when the virus numbers they're not exactly dropping across the nation. That's that's the thing I think, you know, in terms of the big day way we all wanted to play. We all want college football. To me. That's that the part I can't get past. I don't see how they changed their vote that fast unless the medical expert said, there's been this massive breakthrough and don't worry about my own card itis. It's not gonna happen.

So it's probably going to be a CUE case because they obviously didn't read the records shoot. He had three four. Or out a few long with spinal cord to two processes for one disease. It's back that idea of one disease again disease. Well, that's that's what we're running into that one of the major problems. I think I'd see what the claims proud fast is the Bursch writer, and then the second rider, a third writer Dahl reading the same doggone and ripeness sane nearly the same report and they've changed a word or two. That's it. But it's actually the same doggone. I'm d. It's if I didn't want to do their job. But it is copy what do from band. So the system have generated at Quogue mar on the own doing that's by design. I mean. Yeah. I read the report and give a factual finding or opinion. Yeah. And and and that to out about. So but. Manger now that. It's something that you can keep fighting with. Although can. Go on for years for you. Get someone with. Third grade education that can read something. Not bad mouth to be a course. Well, he so security is kind of going to the same thing it kinda shifted analysis, and they're trying to look for more objective things, and they're using nurse practitioners PA's. And you know, that just the fact that they use those types of trained people makes the analysis more shallow just based on who they used to look at it. You know, they're not gonna goes deep. They don't have the same knowledge base. And they're not going to stand The inter. interconnections of everything. So well, that's true. They're not educated that man educated to what did what for and reading the progress report medical reports, and this and that that they get from doctors off battle from design out. Usually the dad is always there. It's just they're not paying rent to or do. They just don't know what to reading. They don't understand. Right. Right. Right. Right. Anyway. Yeah. I'm looking a mouth and the ramp program or word, but. Right now. I don't have much faith in what I've seen so far. Yes..

"You know, the medical opinions like I got it went to for an opinion. And and the guy gave him one, you know, one issue, you know, and I had like fifteen issues I picked up, and I you know, some of them are really spine. You know, things that he has he's got to get read it for and, you know, so, you know, the doctors, even you know, the rating processor aren't doing when they're sure doctors a hostile issue, and you know, keys, and they're still doing when issues ridge bad for the patient because patients have more than one issue. We have many issues Okay. So happen. you happen. Well, that's a kiss bad. I've. One issue. Yeah. You're gonna even better hands. Now. The raiders tell me when they wanted to get the workloads on my -cations readers, you know, like when they want to get through work without they you know, they can go through the national archive there. You know, the big Bank of cases, and they can try and cherry pick. They can cherry pick the cases of one or two issues get their workload. They'll get their work yet credits up and if Keith is with five or six or ten inches. They walked Ryan. They just keep floating around the system because nobody wants to touch him. Yeah. So. Like, you know, patient, very likely could have you? Back your question. They could very likely have cardiac disease. Yeah. Very likely to have proof basketball these and they very likely could have Siebel Baskin all the same times. That's three those are three months two big issues that to work up from medical standpoint require a lot of testing and a lot of different expertise and treatment and surgical options. You know, it's a big deal. Well. Have to when veteran goes into their primary care teen. They have to insist on. Getting listen to know they want to get in there now there, but. Do you have several major issues you wanted to discuss them all and and you just don't let them read she out the door because that's you're gone main. They might say looking always spend ten or fifteen minutes with the bedroom. But if it takes more than that makes more than that. Yeah. I think you're right. That's the way. It's like the old days, you doctor that you waited in the hallway a lot, you know. But yeah, I think what I would do if I was fishing when I go, and I get a list, you know, I used to always tell me t to make listening to the doctor, and you can look at it. Whereas now, I think I would take that list and give it to the, you know, due to the people like you could fax it in and get your medical record before you go into listen afterwards and say, look, I had I had six problems. Dr we went over three of them, and it's documented stuff because otherwise the doctor doesn't nurse practitioner. She just ignores it and never notes it in the record. Then it was just a verbal conversation between that really never. It's never documented, you know. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Tell put it in your record. Yeah. And I've done this. Yeah. They don't leave. They won't leave the hustle until they get to see their record and make sure it's right for what they said. And what they wanted to be down. You know? And buzzed. Always get a copy of your progress report. That's beneficial. But yeah, you have to. Yeah. Be pretty determined. Yeah. You know when they talk about. And usually when I go in. I'm usually take up now. But. I know a lot of about down and out, and I wonder what in the world they go on or for gig drank water. There. You're the retail prescription after door, you know, nothing. Yeah. But you need to discuss, oh, you're issues and. Or as many I do get him to this gas. Yep. Thing I do is if you have access to insurance chill another pathway. I sometimes they'll use two doctors, you know, like, I'll have one doctor view Dr insurance, and that way, the is all all documents has have blind spots. They don't see your understand..

"And I always go tie goes through veterans. So I would say something like the patient had some high cholesterol, but now control, and we know the cholesterol could contribute just process, but we also know that he's exposed to Agent Orange real has diabetes, and that could also do it. And so, you know, my it's impossible to tell which one is caused Asian and the veterans should get credit for war one of them. Oh. Would have with thirty five years of control half. Attention the mix. Yep. Yep. Same thing. High blood pressure trousers the same kind of deal because those are chill karate or chill schools damage. Bloodpressure damages intimate of the wall. And then it gets a little bit damaged plaque practice. Stick to it. Like, you know, if you have high cholesterol also depends on time. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. And it kind of. Turbulent flow like places where you have intersections. There's a lot of turbulent flow back to build up like bifurcation Providence's across place. Now, we have turbulent flow. And so that but flu also is what causes aneurysms of form oftentimes those junction 'cause it makes it a little bit weak there. You know? So, you know, try hypertension can be interesting contribute to. The size of the part does makes a difference to you. So they're starting to do Imerys and microscopic type m I made sure the size of the particles. And it turns out that not all the cluster particles or made the same some are kind of fat and juicy and several kind of small and then a little and so it talked about the LDL's are smart type particles, but there's even some breakdowns in those. So what happens is a small little particles can get through the wall the vessel. So if you have that turbulent area or you have some damage the Walter Little small particles can get inside there and start to build up the plaque on the sub intimate area. Whereas the big fat little juicy ones. Like, you know, they might be like dump trucks. They just kinda roll by. And they can't get in. They can't get any cause damage. So it's not just the raw number of part is also has to do the size of them. So that's why if you pick different types of medications or even vitamins you can change to particle size. And then when you do that you can actually start to change their vessel. You can get some reversals on that stuff. Well, that would a that good. Actually, a bet your brain brain happy started getting plaque build up your brain. Yeah. Anything helps heart and the legs gonna happen in the green, you know, might not be as obvious scam. We see a lot of that you taking them right skin. Still he had diabetes for a lot of years. You'll see a lot of these little tiny areas of increased t two signal which can be caused by hypertension often diabetes, and you get little microscopic games brand that you don't really know about net, maybe part of the aging process with the brain doesn't work quite as well. Remember, it's not quite as good. It might just be these small little changes that have rain. They're true because you know, the blood vessel half dollars that we don't really, you know, PM. It's kitchens you maybe in the brain. That I could Rupp why to go. It. But most of that can be served as connect. I mean, you know, pecan evidence exposure that's out in or Agent, Orange or or whatever. It. It can be service connected. Anything else? Good. Next is part of it you get benefits reading decision. But also, you know, that's true selection process helps people death fi, you know, the hospital 'cause you know, a lot of these patients now are being cared for by nurse practitioners on T as you know. Yeah. Those guys those guys aren't going through the detailed analysis to try and find the root cause oftentimes. And so if you service factor for some sophisticated processing, and he has a TC in your brain that's showed up these changes in that gets in your medical record..

"In the case, that's all about trying to do these cases. They're trying to get readers of your cases and thirty thirty minutes. Now, really push them fast to get things out the door work product. So. Lot more sloppy evidence. Well, they sharing them on thirty minutes. But. Anyway, it it's a new process now to bash and and it's gotta be proven that. And if they can't prove it up and pretty soon. Well, we're gonna find out because when. When everything is piled in this. What's new projects bras at keep on college fracking? But it, you know, at all like when they climb and made such headway on the claims process. It all went to the bills. And I think that's what you're going to see here with the fracking program. Our main ramp program is everything going to pile up in the rap program. And they're not going to be able to meet the timelines that they've indicated. That'll tell the day. Oh. And I understand that already getting by rather quickly. Well, I saw some case last week that came through they're already starting talk about the relevant evidence. He said that if mission was presented wasn't relevant. So they're gonna they're gonna discharge like that you put in redundant evidence or puts in you know, literature things like that. They're just going to say, it's not relevant, and, you know, push back. So that relevant evidence is going to be an interesting. Definitely that could be detrimental to a bathroom for share. Because I can certainly understand there could be relevant now every dance out here article newspaper articles, or or you run across memos. You know, all sorts of different things. I mean, the list could go on man and did guys a raider don't think drought. No mean that it is. Yeah. The raiders are being pushed a lot on that that in twenty one through you know, and and Krieger was talking about that a little bit. You said that the m twenty one often time doesn't doesn't relate itself very much to what the laws are the kind of mix up their own kind of internal rules and puts in the twenty one and the raiders followed. But they're not really necessarily backed up by the by the legislature. You know, so. You know, it's look I if you did free. They're sign water. It is nice. I know that ain't minder petition and they'd beats up, you know, so obvious it. It's crazy. But Durant program. I think we'll show its ugly face here in in six months less than a year. It's going to be so. I guess it. They'll be five hundred thousand. And they're they're waiting. And there's this change in name to the same problem. I just giving her name name. "Might order new chest x Ray or we might have a new, you know, pulmonary function tests or something like that. So it'd be relevant because if he's going to see if it's not relevant. They're not gonna admit. And then in other ways to do it would be get a second position behind myself to you know, to have to weigh opinions. Dr bash says this Dr Jones says so it's another piece of relevant new relevant information, which would allow near mission to get into the file. I usually do it like three or four times after that's over. If you're still except when you got maybe wait until the B which could be years like you're talking about seven years. Yeah. That's unfortunate too. Because. You know, if to be would really honestly work with a veteran, they got he's doggone bomb. They know what twin on. They shouldn't have to depend on the bedroom. Adele. You know? They get out there sale somehow and. Go ahead. He's very guys told me to try to do things so fast that if the reader outs free information tries gives Texas close the case down. So they're trying to put the workload on the patient. Which is not right. That's you're saying. Yeah. That and that's what they doing and many times, and they don't remember years back or or something could happen at my being Iraq. And. I band getting a proper client file out of the bay is really difficult. I'm went through five Deborah claims byles they put on CD's for me, and they Thuan get larger. Yeah. And I was that work. And here. This is the Bishnu information could been utilized from the Geico. Is it? You know, there's something seriously wrong with that. You should have a real time. Climbs power that you can look at now. I know they were four for some the BS os and stuff or. Climbs practitioners. They get that access. Molly ears but veteran get it. Yeah. Because what's the veteran gets it? They didn't get to some expert like myself, you know, sector McDonald's, very good at that. We used to write a letter to him, and he could get the claims file a couple of days, I said exit out on disk, but you know, they can do that they want to. But they don't listen to be invested in that process, you'll love other deed. Instead the records is not being looked at your right? So that's one of those things I was going to touch a little bit CUE Bill Bill Krieger wants to come on a month or so and talk about deep way. But you know, some of the examples that I find on the medical side is that they don't look at the understand the terms, you know, like somebody will have a little fraction of spine called the parks defect and the raiders go by don't realize it's is fine. Fracturing. Like reactive airway disease. They'll miss reactive airway disease. It says RAV and the records, you know, Christopher asthma. So or they'll miss, you know, some of the stuff for the nerve nerve just in the hands for spinal cord, you know, confuses fix sixty seven routes bills. Got a good case on that. So not always is the record. Not maybe presented as well. The raiders aren't looking at it carefully. Could go to find these details. It could make a big difference..

"Can you tell us about one of the proudest moments? You've experienced in your work. I didn't the proudest moment is Russ two years. We have you know, young patients dying. But in the last few years, no last four years knowing young patient who shouldn't be dying as not died and our staff feedback we've had bottom twenty percents stock happiness into Levin by two thousand sixteen we've at the third best hospital. Who was in the whole of energy and the trust received forty five hours. Congratulations on that. That's a big accomplishment that credit should go to the stuff is. He always I say either is just a leader. But it is the hard working in tears who've made the trust success. All we did was we guided them supported them to do it. Good job. I always say success of any organization is because of his hardworking star failure due to poor leadership for culture. And that is what I always we introduce patient safety at the heart of everything we do number two, happy star, happy star, happy star happy and those two are non-negotiable. And we implemented duty of candor that any star will come and see us in confidence, and we would deal with that duty of candor and this focus on on patient safety is definitely critical. When you think about all the things that you're up to today who mesh? What would you say an exciting project or focus you're working on his today? I think to be honest with you, why do is now. India taught me my values by values for my grandmother. She always always always these. She Goodenow in do to others focus only on you what? Hot one day. Maybe somebody doing something. Right. Don't be of anybody courage. We does rallies I came to UK and add associated years now, I would want to return to both the countries or you can India. So that we can reduce patient safety, and let us some statistics for India, which is because India is the big country is very frightening in India each day two hundred women died during childbirth each day in India five hundred thousand babies are born with brain damage every in India five hundred thousand children.

"And I realize what sixteen had gone wrong, and I put the systems in place. I thought that will send the reading four weeks and the baby died, I didn't make any mistakes do us nurses mistake. It was systems failure. And that was nine hundred ninety two and I tell of interest in patient safety since then since then are nothing, but why don't make me say how to identify urge out there who are these mistakes and are probably given more than three hundred. Lectures on patient safety organization culture leadership. Every now it has become mission for me to reduce harm to patients across the world thing. It's a very excellent story sad and revealing you know, of of really kind of what happens more often than people think in healthcare. And and so you've made it your mission to put patient safety at the front and center stage. No doubt. That's your key topic that needs to be on the leaders minds. What are they need to be thinking about as relates to patient safety? I didn't I would always the doctor's opposition thing by when you're sixteen seventeen years old. Why did you become a doctoral physician who make fellow human b? But it is somebody's chives somebody's life. It is they who suffered because our mistake we can walk away. But this their Siamese suffer and arguing opinion on green tea to such who died in the United Kingdom, this that mother. And father's aid. Which drives me to what I'm just imagine. Your child apparently child who's perfect normal Dallas brain damage where a childhood brain damage in. When it says, the whole thing is real tragedy and eighty two nine of them of prevent and you said in a number of patients who die. He's letting you breathe fast in the United Kingdom twenty thousand patient die every year and fifty five thousand dollar severe complications or disabled due to medical errors and United States. Approximately two hundred thousand patient, maybe dying where that may be preventable in Australia ten thousand patients, I the two rentable medical errors. And that is the scale of them. We are watch every doctor every healthcare worker every manage must always put patients at the heart of everything they do and patient safety must be given the talk now doubt. And the numbers are high. And you know, it shouldn't be happening, but it does in. So maybe you could talk to us a little bit about some of the things that you've done who mesh and things that you you've seen done that could implement right way to not promote nothing barred in factor. And let me tell you many the refund demento reason for patient safety the system at eight is not individual doctors, even though very loudly in digital but lost eighty to ninety percent of our systems freight, for example, elderly patients develop pressure ulcer in the hospital. If they stay for a long and boundary and broadcast DVD and found Ray embodies is very well known complication after surgery in elderly patients frauds in elderly patients who are more than got dementia. And if that admitted to hospital, they fall and such. And all of them. If you have very good system in place of we went, for example, patient deteriorate thing in the hostile. If you do not realize they're white YTL find if you do not want to care for. And if we do not see the vital signs, and these patients can die within next few few hours. So what we did was be appointed some very good leaders to each and every department, and then we put robust measurements and excellent system and Preuss, and we start giving early fit for example, medication error is the second most common error in the world in the United States. When thousand patients die every due to medicine mismanagement, very patient mismanage drug interaction patient known with allergy even the drug all these things dispensing error prescribing error and writing mistakes, I've seen everything so we put robust systems and process..

And you watch photo your kind new is a great pleasure talking about patients, so mess. Tell me how did you get into healthcare to begin with? So that's also very interesting. I didn't want to be at all really. My sister wanted to be a doctor and okay in one thousand nine hundred sixty s she got medical entrance into three by can college. But she was not allowed to go into medicine because she was a woman while and then she got upset. She said, I will make you a doctor, and I was very good at studies. And I'm from south India.
