"I do see them back and forth with each other quite a bit is this Bs real talk. Oh. Hey, Matt Barnes as someone who knows Chris Paul. Well, talk to me smoke, there's fire, I think Chris and they're doing a good job trying to put those fires out. But to me up less on what is said in reading body language, and you can tell between those two, there's been some friction, you know, who's to blame who knows. But there's definitely some friction there. And I think everyone's just trying to put that fire out. Because like I said earlier to me they're they're at top contender. Even with the team the way it is constructed now to win the title next year, and he just continued to ran into dynasty with Golden State, the last two years in the playoffs, but they have already one of the best players in the game James and a good supporting cast and they're in a position to win. But I think they need to figure out what's going on over there. I when you have to alpha dogs going at it on the same team. We've seen it work in the past often, the not when everybody's on the same page, especially your stars trouble in when you have a guy like Chris Paul who seems to be on the downslide a little bit. And you have James who is. Is really the guy there if they're not on the same page. I don't know how it can work. Chris Paul is aging because he's a human, and I've seen guys do that very gratefully, right? I mean, I think we need to be like Chris Paul writing him off. There are guys who do that in a way where they become more crafty, where they change their game a little bit. But to do that it's possible he feels. He needs to play a style of play that he can't play with names on the court. I think he made a huge sacrifice realizing he was going to Jane this team the first year and who's to say they're a hamstring away from possibly go into the finals. But I think. This is separate discussion, can we say that they were hamstring away the year before of going to the finals if they had the chance fully healthy on their floor facing? The whole different situation. I feel like they really had the upper hand in that particular theory ago. You know what I mean? So I'm just wondering if we can still say, I think to me, the next I it's hard to as James to change anything because he's one of the most prolific scores we've ever seen in the history of the game. But to me, the next step for that team in him isn't a whole is to pick and choose his spots. He is so talented, knowing that anytime any place within that forty and get a bucket, y'all know that. But to me, if you start giving everyone else warm and getting them touch, then picking and choosing your spots, down the stretch, you're going to be playing against less people I am right now that he's planning. It's two and a half guys every time he brings them all because they know that he is the money if you get PJ going in air, Gordon CPU, assisting Capellas up a lob threat at the end of the game, really planning it's one guy, maybe one and a half guy. So to me, the next step in James game is amazing. The is, is picking and choosing his spots. Interesting every single player who sits and comes on the show says that very curious to see if there's any advice heated. Talk about warriors for Igwe Dalla..

"So the season ticket holder base is younger, more youthful Toronto's a real Toronto and the fact that they get people to stand outside in little mezzanine area when it's freezing outside going crazy like there. I love what Toronto's doing. I love the fact that, you know, Drake. It's really got behind them. In rallied, the city, I think it's what basketball needs, you know what I mean. Everyone talks about Golden State's dominant but everyone's really excited for Toronto. It'll be interesting to see what happens. And what's more interesting to see if they have success or what they win or lose, what does colliding next year is getting to the finals enough or is he coming home to LA, regardless? So I think is going to be a, you know, a fun situation to the Matt Barnes. Good. See anybody join with the news. Turn on the news. This is the headline news. So shack played in six NBA finals during his nineteen year career six different teams. And he's had a lot of teammates along the way. But shack also has a pretty incredible street going that was continued by Danny green. He has thirty six straight NBA finals that have featured players who are once shacks teammates, what come again. Thirty six straight NBA finals featured players who were once shack seem eight we have the. List of them here and put up a shack sixty nineteen Eighty-four from one thousand nine hundred four to two thousand nineteen every NBA finals has had a player that played because side. Okay. So some of those guys in eighty four eventually landed on a list, isn't it? Yeah, it's pretty incredible, including Matt. Oh you weren't you. You're in Phoenix character. Boy, eric. It's kind of incredible, though, like the reach that shack is, I would say, Phoenix was an interesting, stop form because he worked, but he wasn't what we thought, but he actually that was the last time that was the last bit of good shack. And then he kind of fell apart physically still play well for they're just a solid team. That's right. National the more you know, those guys. Yeah. Having an effect on the NBA so this morning. I stumbled across a list by the action network of the most important players in the two thousand nineteen NBA finals, which raises an important question who are the most important players in the series by their ability to impact, and win or lose a series for their team? So their list is Steph ball by Katie, who I clay Siaka dream on Kyle Marcus hall. And then Andrea dolla. I switched it around a little bit..

"It works on the same way as well. I think you know, just because. The compartmentalize the love you Hafer city as opposed to love you have for yourself and what you want to do in your career. Those are two separate things. And I think eighty is able to separate those two things he still has love for the big, you know, I still think that's the place that he has a ton of love for but at the same time like eighty once ago accomplish what he wants to go in the -ccomplish and he's trying to do that. Yeah. Greedy Matt Barnes has a take on this as well. So we'll send it back over to you. And I wanted to pick your brain on this before we get to some other matters. We've talked about it in our meeting this morning. Do you think that Anthony Davis should be swayed? One way or another by New Orleans winning the lottery, obviously, like to reader with Jay said zone is tremendous talent. But it doesn't put them over the hump so to speak, and he's giving his heart and soul to New Orleans for a handful years, and he feels like it's best for him to move on. I loved players take their career and their future in their own hands. So it's just a situation where to me is mind is made up in so much of basketball is mental if you're mentally checked out before this starts you really wanted that kind of cloud looming over this news. I on ehre. So if he wants out, I think New Orleans to do their best. To get him out before this strike. I think they need to get him out as quickly as they possibly can. And one of the places he will most likely wind up is the Lakers. And of course, they had what can only be described as tumultuous past year despite signing LeBron James. They missed the playoffs for the sixth consecutive time. It's the first time with Ron at miss the playoffs in his second year in the league. And then as you will recall on the final day of the regular season team president Magic Johnson abruptly resigned after two years on the job. He said he was happier when he wasn't in that role. There's been any number of reasons given for why he may have wanted to get out soon after the season ended then Luke Walton was fired as head coach. And they thought they want to tie that went badly. Monty Williams that went badly. So they hire Frank Vogel their new head coach then they get some good news on Tuesday. They move up all the way to number four in the draft eleven had been there. Previously slotted spot. Our projections have been taking Vanderbilt guard Darian garland in that spot. Should they stay there? But it all of a sudden becomes bored. Justin bargaining chip to try and trade for Anthony Davis. Is just one who obviously, you make your home their, you know what inside and out and played so recently, what is your perspective on all that we see going on with the Lakers right now? I think, you know, for the storm for the sun to come out management has to be stable, I think everything starts at the top, and it's been a mess. The last six years, you know, they have the worst winning percentage in the NBA in the last six years as a lifelong, Laker fan, I wanna see nothing more for them to get back and be relevant management has to clean themselves up. We don't really know who's in charge making the calls as long as they know. That's what's important. I don't think we need to know but as long as they know they pick their their coach. But to me, does a big time for you really want to jump into that hot water knowing it's best. And I think that's, that's the big point. Right is okay. So you've got LeBron James and everybody all excited last year. It was like, okay. We're going to be back in the playoffs. The injury might have derailed the season and kept him out of the playoffs. But to me, it's more about that management position. And what is your vision? For what this roster looks like after they sign LeBron James, last year, the rest of the guys that they signed everybody was like this doesn't fit. This doesn't work..

"We won't slow marketing to be successful. But it so I ran for me to wait two NBA's become like all the stars wanna play together. We don't need small-market teams does not a stain -able business model, and allow runs to kissing like a hell helluva player seemed like a nice guy. I would love to see David say in New Orleans is you give me avenue. David sound Graham, sending drew holiday of Julius Randle. We might not win attempt you but we're going to be pretty damn good. But all these guys who won't these young kids who stars all play a major markets. I just don't think that's right. And I don't think fair Chuck, and you're gonna win this tonight to the big board or you not gonna let Kenny beat you anymore. You. Jay Jay, I'm a work on my sprint moves this summer. "But there's a ball moving autism stuff. Hey, Dave want they played three really good games in a row. Well, that's still ride to Trail Blazers. All I four. Most limited, I've already told you walk it. Buffs gonna win the world championship. And I'm sticking by that. They check I know that, you You know. know, you have Portland, you know get into the championship game as well because it does it bother. You watching Dame trying to guard. Steph running chasing him around all day every day is still having to do so much on the offensive end as well. Day. You know, Jason the one reason I've picked blazers as I think they got the best bench in the NBA. And I think one thing CJ and Dame have to do is they got the trust their pets. They got to trust end. Tis cancer for me. No, they got to trust those guys because you are gonna get worn down. And when you star you have to pick and choose what it is. When you when you are up fifteen sixteen seventeen point there, where last night that's when you rest. That's what you try to make played for the other guys concern conserve your energy for the last team, ten fifteen point Li I used to just chill out and let the other guys do thing. And then they didn't have anything down the stretch last night 'cause they use so much ended entire game Charles Barkley is with us here again you're in Milwaukee for the Eastern Conference finals game tonight. Critical obviously for Toronto trying to get one on the road in this series, as you watch it. What do you expect to happen tonight? And how about that matchup between the Greek freak on one side and on the other. Will those two guys have played better than anybody in the playoffs so far? Kawada has and Janas day have been the two best players in the NBA two. First two rounds of the playoffs Milwaukee was very rusty for game one Toronto play desert play game win game on outplay the bugs in game one but could not finish of an icepack. No walk into play a lot better. Tonight. They are terrific Lopez. They got back and brought them back. Now, I think in general men above dealer. Fantastic. Job rare directed bench and it gonna be tough to be. I think they're going to win the world championship. Then let's get to the other big news of the week here. Charles I wish I could have been with you. When this happened when they opened up that envelope. And Zion Williamson was going to the New Orleans pelicans, what was the first words out of your mouth. Well, I thought it was great for the NBA I'm so disappointed in all these analysts on television. What I'm me, but it is debate just won't all the stars to play in the big city. They want to do that. Fertile no affect on me. I will make a lot of money, whether there's no big market small market Tokyo channel Weber we play. Seriously? Do they choose wanna contract all the small market teams? So everybody can play in New York Philly, Boston of the Lakers. I mean, I just think disingenuous because this..

"Guided about that one thing that night has always been taught, you accept the things that can't change change the things that you can't change. And this one of the things that he had nothing to do with is the process of the NBA, certainly, you know, we're excited about the Christian city down there New Orleans, and you said about returning to dupe you know, there's been a lot of speculation, but that is not nothing that we have even considered. So J will you actually have an interesting scenario that you think could work if they decided to maybe at least put a little bit of pressure on the NBA side of things, and maybe the pelicans side, I say, I think he should go to New Orleans. I think playing underneath David Griffin is to right move. But I heard another feasible option. We're like, oh, go to I would never suggest that the other feasible tangible option is you retract your name from the NBA draft and you go overseas. You play an team Barcelona. You played for reality rig, you're going to get the same kind of shoe money. How many international superstars we have in the game basketball coming out of college or high school? We had the broad James maybe shot. And think about this. He can also organizing the Goshi TV contract. He can say, hey, I'll come to reality grid. Get ten percent. Whatever TV contract is you don't think ESPN or social media? We're not going to follow him overseas. You can actually make a case that he can make more money for his thin overplaying, one year, a couple years of Real Madrid. Then he would play for the New Orleans pelicans right away. And that is a feasible. Jabbour option. I'm not saying he should do it. But it's actually tangible option. Well, you've been in this -sition before, you know, you the number two pick it, I think your goal was to do what play NBA. Yeah. So I think at the end of the day, great vision, you know, things could happen. And now is the time for you know what the balls didn't everything? Now's the time to do something that, but I just don't see that happening. I think there's too much money on the table. And to me, he just seems like the kid play basketball when he got hurt ruling the season don't play the more, you know, wait for this you can tell he wanted to play. He just wants to play basketball. I think that's what it is. Now, I think if you have to obviously count, our blessings New Orleans may not be the ideal team. He wanted to be on. I think everyone thought it he thought he was going to the next. But now you've got to go out there if you have to look at the reality of all this is he hasn't said, one time I don't wanna play a New Orleans and his reaction reaction that I go back to you say went to New Orleans when When you. you got drafted, and you went through the lottery process, and you knew you were going one or you were going to write. You weren't looking at the team that was coming up at number seven because the way the draft lottery was -sition at that time, they had a really limited chance to move all the way up into that window. This year's lottery was different. You were there. You saw it firsthand. There was a buzz in the room. You had teams moving up all over the place. You have two teams with the worst record picks five and six and because of that the reaction for, I think it was kind of, like, wow. Wait New Orleans. That wasn't even on my radar screen. And now it's on his radar screen. And the reality is you have to start your clock. 'cause where do you make your money MBA play that second contract? You want to get to that second contract and his marketability and the money that he's going to be able to make isn't going to change all that much. Because he's a guy that is a game changers you said eighty percent. Plus ratings is what you said the other television rating for the lottery special was up eighty percent year over year. Okay. And why was that on? Okay. So it doesn't today's media market and because the following we've never seen anyone out of high school. Have this kind of social media tragedy..

"See now what a co Weiland you saw couple of years ago, particularly when he got undercut by judge Judy because a high he had looked at season. You're not taking all the years of greatness that Koby is put on display, you're right into consideration. Right. That's what can't be ignored but win it. You're right match. Right. Because Kobe played way longer than Kawai. I can't I can't compare Kobe's career to I right now what I can do is compared co. Why till now and Coby at the same age till this point in Kobe's career. And when you do that, you'll see that has been better under pressure. At least according to the numbers, I'm not denying Kobe was unafraid under pressure, but my point the shack agreed with a met this is my point. Koby might have been the best bad shot maker of all time. So let's say you see dude, and they're defending perfectly, and there's a double team the whole thing. And it's like most dudes. They took that shots at ten percent likelihood that they make Kobe makes it thirty percent of the time. That's three times as good as it should be Kawai just finds himself a high percentage shot. So you go, okay? He hit that forty five percent of time. You're supposed to hit it. Thirty five's only ten percent. But, but the point is, I don't care about how hard it is how many times have you hit it. When you look at the numbers late and close in playoff game. At the same point in their careers, Kawais her better. Because he's just getting better shots wiping to first of all, Stephen. Did you ask what he was wearing last night because I was looking fused without a fly food or not. I did when I was when I was with took that ridiculous looking. On the table. Back to your point. What the hell it was Kobe's numbers could be a little screw strewed because early on in his career. He had a lot of growing pains. He was on the biggest stage at eighteen nineteen in Utah. Reshot the four airballs and came back the next summer a monster. So I think his numbers could be a little different because he had done it at an earlier age. And you less efficient era. I like to get Kobe's greatness gets downplayed, by the by the metrics because he was not playing an as officiant, and I'll get. I'm just saying is a wise. Great quite quite great very efficient to me. I think people forgot how good he was. I think the whole year off everyone else got better, and they forgot about qui- battling him a lot when I was with the clippers, and they're in San Antonio in the playoffs. We went to war. He to me healthy is the best to play in the game top three in the world. So he's very efficient. I love everything he does. I think he he's, he's proven himself, but I don't even think he's hitting more than question from that because. 'cause you were always type of dude, you never liked the primary score on a playoff team yard, those guys guarded them. But you were the type of dude, there's some guys you can see their personalities. It's a pressure game. Who do you trust? Matt Barnes doesn't care about the Matt Barnes will be fine Russia. Right. There's some guys like that. And there are other guys where you can see they're either front runners. They feel good when their crude up and they know they're better than they can hit the big shot. But what about when it's even or what about when their team is behind can they do it then? And I've had my I on two guys in these playoffs in the Western Conference, James harden, who came up, short, again because he wasn't the MVP when it mattered most mart, and Steph curry, who have always felt has been less than his best when they've needed him the most. Although now maybe he doesn't mean always has to be that way. These guys write their scripts right now. I'm interested in your thoughts on that on that stuff as it relates to harden and curry interesting. I think Coby and team Mak tackle too early. Season as great as James's, the type of story is the run. He's been on this year. We rarely seen anything like it. But is that going to win in the playoffs is one guy dribbling era the ball taking a majority of the shots going to win it? Yes. He's very efficient. But is that going to win? Yes. If that's the case, who do you point to finger rat for the problems in Houston? Is it James harden? It was it Mike dantonio because of what you just said in terms of this style of play. I think it's a little bit of both. And I think is great as James is possibly the two time maybe after this season. Evelyn of player is picking and choosing his spots. He such a talented player that I think he needs to do a little bit more takes out of Chris Paul's playbook. Get everyone else going because you know you can get your shot at any point in time when the when when your team needs it down the stretch. It's James harden time. But the rest of the time you got your guys standing around and then like I said, as much as he does for the tnr in the regular season, he always seemed to run out of gas in the playoffs because he is the horse for, you know, seventy five games, ladies and you blame it on that stuff and not something in him. Because that's the question. That's the question. I have like. When you shoot twice in the last ten minutes of game when your team needs, you can't have that can't have. No. Why only shot three times? That's game one. Yeah. Just carry the team. We seem big in the fourth quarter as the history of doing that. Hardened doesn't why definitely think this last series is probably going to tarnish his legacy. You know you had your perfect opportunity. You know, the war is kind of always been a big brother to Houston. And this is their perfect time, boogie out your at home, take care of business. And you guys have a chance to go to the finals and they didn't. And like Hawaii did last series. Regardless, there, we're gonna go down with the here that shoot fifty times or thirty eight times he shot because he was their best player. That's expected at Ajay than he can give them that question and missed all the about that if he hadn't lost if he had lost in game seven it would have been slightly different losing game six on y'all. Yeah. No question. The warriors win game one of the Western Conference finals plan without Kevin Durant. And when asked about Katie status and game Steve Kerr said he's likely to play, but we'll have more of an update after he's reevaluated today, Matt far still here with us. Obviously thirteen fifteen years, NBA bet four years with those warriors. So I wanna start with you. How much would the warriors miss him if he's not able to play the series? I think they're going to miss them from the standpoint of the rest of their core is going to play a lot of minutes and be very tired. I still think they'll be able to get past Portland, but I think their core guys are going to be tired going into the finals. Kevin Durant is taking a huge step this year and showing the world. You know after all this pet Beverly can stop him. He this is what you guys wanted to see you continue to poke this there. And he's been incredible sense. But people. Getting very quick, how talented the splash brothers. Are you know what I mean? I think they have deferred to Kevin somewhat and Kevin's been so efficient you understand why. But, you know, with Kevin off the court is not that they want Katie not to be there, but they're fine. You know they've been there battle tests done that. And like I said, the only thing that worries me is their death and without Katie. Or boogie this and I think that's other planning on playing the series. You know, Steph Steph, Klay in dream Andre are really tired went into the final Stephen, I want to jump in real quick show. Here's this is C about steps in clay. They won the first championship with an Astro. Not just those two guys, but the whole crew with an Astros. I mean LeBron didn't have kyri or Kevin love. Give me a break. He had Matthew del of dove is second best player and still went six games. I'm saying right now, when I think about that your I think Cleveland was obviously if they were healthy they would've won that series. And then they beat him the next year after the warriors got better seventy three game. But then dream on MRs, you know. When you're right. That's you can get you set right. That's what I'm saying. I have yet to see. I hope Steph can do it. I have yet to see Steph in particular as he drives them all regular season. Now it's the playoffs. Now be the Steph curry. We all know when it matters most I haven't seen that yet in the finals if Milwaukee's. They're waiting for on that team is real can Steph, do it under those conditions. I think he can and only time will tell you know, we can guess and figure out it'll happen right now. He's in a good groove. He's in a good space. You know, his energy is good. I saw these guys before last game. I did a pre game show when everyone's energy is right excited. You know, obviously, like I said, they, they won't Katie and boogie back, but they're realizing this round, most likely they're going to be without them. But this time I mean no-one said the road to three was going to be easy. There's plenty of hurdles and everyone saying, this could be their last dance. So I think you're gonna see the best everyone that goes on that floor including the bench and house off the Steve Kerr working these guys in because I haven't been able to play that much this much in the playoffs. No, such that you say that because we disagree with you, as that is great as clay, and Steph, are they explode and when their explosive I mean, we see what I mean. Listen, Steph curry, dropping nine threes to other night them combined if the twelfth overall when they get when they get going again, they're the greatest shooting back, what we've ever seen in NBA history. But this is not the same team because it doesn't have the same level of depth. We, we've been marveling at what we've seen from Audrey dollar because we saw declined physically because of age and attrition. We certainly seen from showing Livingston as well. Even though he stepped up in game six against Houston and showed that he could still get it done. You can rely on guys in pivotal moments. But the game is forty eight minutes, you know that better than both of us. And so what I'm seeing you will you think about a team like Milwaukee coup, by the way, let us not forget we'd have homecourt advantage. And you think about the bodies capable of thrown at you got the Greek freak you got. Mirror tissue gotten Middleton. You've got Bledsoe, who can be a pit bull brogden now coming off the bench. He's giving you some minutes, you look at the just just just a potpourri of individuals that they can throw at you. I am of the mindset you have to have Kevin Durant to win the championship this year. If the Golden State Warriors, do not get Kevin Durant back. I don't think they would beat the Milwaukee Bucks because I think the depth that you've you glossed over is going to be pivotal, and it's going to be lacking against a young team like Milwaukee who does fans and is not going to let you get off like that. I agree. I agree from the standpoint of depth with word me from the beginning of the season. This is not one of the deeper benches. Golden State has had but for the same thing you said that young, teen word young scares me, the lady, get in the playoffs a light Yunos, you know, the lights, get a lot, brighter. And you had the whole world on you the further you go for this young team. Mhm if they're fortunate to get back past Toronto playing championship is going to be brand new for all those guys. You know, for for Jaanus for bled for brogden for Middleton for the whole crew. So I'm going with experience. I mean young teams are great during the season. Milwaukee's proven a lot of people wrong. You know, the way they played in the playoffs, but I always want to go to experience when it gets later in the playoffs and definitely in the finals. Because like I said earlier these guys are battle-tested. They've been down. They've been up they've lost leads. They've come back in one championships. That's all stuff. You can't practice.

"You. Screens tomorrow, SPF thirty. I never thought I could listen to someone talk golf all day. But when Michael Collins, talking golf, I could listen all day, quite the personality might go. We appreciate you soon. All right. I can't believe it. Let Philip brought his little brother on our mission into orbit how long until it got their employees get their learning to get there. No. I can't believe how easy it was to save hundreds of dollars on my car insurance with Geico. What's this button? Do what's this button? Do this button, do what's this? I believe that guy. Go. Good save you fifteen percent or more on car insurance. Hey welcome on your sports center right now. I'm Charlie Arnold last night game, one of the Eastern Conference finals. And while the bucks were down against the raptors for most of the game they managed to find their stride at the perfect time heating up in the fourth to win at one eight to one hundred and it was a big man not named Janas to lead the deer scoring last night, following an over seven game versus the Celtics Lopez port in twenty nine points, the most by a buck center since cream of dole Jabbar not to be outdone, raptors guard Kyle Lowry. Also saw improved results in the scoring column. Dallying just nine point total in Toronto's first two game ones Lowery went offer. Thirteen points last night with the raptors team disappeared down the stretch fourteen of Lowery's thirty points game in the fourth while teammates managed just three including over eight stretch to end the game. This where we struggled in second half. Our pace wasn't good enough. I think the paste we play with the first half was the pace we need to play with about the game that that will be a big thing for us as is pays in dictating the pace of the game. We have a lot of confidence in this group and all throughout the season. The playoff different guys been stepping up different guys have been having big nights, and you know, it was definitely good to see us win a different way. Tonight. Bucks. Now the history on their side is one seeds to win game one of a best of seven series win the series eighty nine percent of the time game tomorrow night in Milwaukee back now to date. What's going on? Everybody will make the per se coming to live from of the Heineken verdict up here seventeen NYC bucks rallied to take game one of the Eastern Conference finals against the raptors late night and game where Toronto led by as many as thirteen points on that note, you know, this man, to my right. Math farms in the building, have you with us. I want to start with you. How much trouble do you feel like the raptors after what you saw game one? I don't feel like it's much trouble. I feel like they won three quarters of the game. Unfortunately, it's a four quarter game no-one ball notion in the fourth quarter outside of Kyle, which I'm happy to see you hasn't had the best playoffs there. So he played well, but I'm kind of encouraged from a standpoint of you know, they dictated the pace a whole entire game. They had a nice lead in couldn't score in the fourth quarter. I would've liked to see Leonard take more than three shots. He's go to guy. You're going to go down with your best player. I don't feel he was as aggressive as he'd been with a seven-game hangover from the last a little bit of Teague. We don't know that. But as you know as raptor fan and as you know, their team I think you're feeling good right now. What, what is beautiful to hear from max bones? Since you just Pat go, what max said at the Scott of the show, and there's a good. See you broke. Thank you for being on the show. Let me let me say this to you. I feel totally differently because even though the raptors will win it for the first three quarters Milwaukee was rusty Milwaukee was shooting the ball affectively at all. And they just kept lurking around why? Because they've got size. They've got perimeter shooting. They've got the Greek freak and Toronto. When you look at Toronto in my opinion, I don't think they have enough offense of horses collar is not going to score thirty. Again, I don't believe is the Arkham like that, even though he's my most improved player that you look at the pot around them, whether it's call Lowry would van -vely in these guys, you see, guys at undersized certain positions. UC Kawagoe, an incident terrier, and Brooke. Lopez and the Greek freak and mirror teach all waiting in a paint for him. I look at it from that perspective. And I'm like, who's going to help Kawai Linnet, and I don't see anybody Toronto that I can trust against this defense that leads me to believe that Toronto can take them out. I just don't see that. I take the experience. I think quiet been there, you know, he's a finals in wanna championship. You don't see Kyle hours thirty again, I don't necessarily see brook, Lopez playing at the level. He played the route this coming in. Five points last series. And then having a breakout game and shooting the ball, really, well, what I'd like to see from Toronto is thirty buck. More with Roque playing on the perimeter mostly Mark, great defender. But he's great around the basket served cover those pick and rolls and stay on Lopez when he pops and give them another defensive angle. But like I said, I think it's going to be a battle, I think this'll be a seven game series but I still have Toronto. Yeah, I said minimum I felt like six games there with that another thing I wanna get into the max mates of headlines over the last couple of days, saying that Kowa Leonard. Why is more clutch than Kobe bean Bryant? So last night he was held the two points. No field goals in the fourth. I know that was just one game. But how much do you think Hawaii's as a player or very clutch? I don't agree with Maxine. He's more clutch than Kobe is hard to gauge one run right now or a handful years over, you know, a body of work, that Kobe is given us in has has proven but I like where his mentality that he realizes this team is going to win are with him shooting the ball and I like how Grevy is this is one of the teams were, they know he has to play great for them to have a chance, but he's been playing great. Like I said, this is one game. Milwaukee did what they're supposed to do the, you know, they're supposed to take care of home Tronto another chance to steal game too. And if that doesn't happen, they still have they go home max. You want to say this. Max on the tell you, I, I four you go I was with shack last night after the game and shack. Listen to your points about Coby in terms of being that difficult shot making eccentric set your and he agreed with that. So he heard your argument, and he wanted me to let you know that he agreed where he disagreed with you is when I brought up the fact that matches brought up you looking at the collide Linnet that you see

"And we don't know we're doing yet. Let's dive further into the management part of it. Matt, let's do that on the other side. We'll take a quick break. We'll back in a couple minutes. Matt Barnes hanging out Kurt Morrison with Saddam show yesterday, I sedan show here on ESPN LA. We're back Matt Barnes here Kirk Morrison here. So we just had Ramon on. While ago. Right. And she told us I asked her question about trust with LeBron James. We were talking about it Matt and Kirk when magic left clearly LeBron if you heard the audio we played in the last segment of the shop like he was stunned like everyone else and kind of taken aback, by the way, the whole thing went down clued in love the way, the whole thing went down. So I asked her Mona straight up like, okay. Well, with him gone is this loose signing or alleged potential hiring of Tyler to kind of give him an ally in the room because he may not have that like is there someone he trusts and here's a Ramona set traffic, I know they've been dinner, and they call you know, like they have ever noth- of connection. Just LeBron straight to ownership that, I frankly, I don't know if the ever had that and his attire career, right? Like, I don't think he had that that door open, you know, Miami. Or even definitely on Cleveland. Right. So I think he's got a level of trust. But I think. Levels like bigger than the game at this stage in his career. Like is my perception is like he kinda be kinda do whatever you want. Whatever you want and the only real concern for him is are you gonna get players around him that he can win because he'd gotten. So he's gotten so big that the only thing that can really hurt him is just is not delivering the court. And I think that's gotta be his big into this story was magic like waiting on. Like, I mean, he didn't come here for magic magic help. Okay. But like it's not like if magic was the president of the nuggets he LeBron woulda gone there to play in August. You know, we he just was a guy and it helps her q rating, but LeBron would come to the Lakers garden shoot the part that I think is fascinating because you know, look, and he may have a great relationship with genie buzz. And look I believe Ramon implicitly in these situations that he's got a good really good enough relationship, but she pointed out which you bus, but I don't know if that's enough because Jeanie Buss isn't making basketball decisions. Exactly might when you hear all the time. The people Jeannie needs to step up and do more really put her foot down. So whether that no, I like, you said Ramona's, probably the Laker insider, you know, as far as Laker insiders go, so she would know more than any of us. But like you said it is that enough because genie is not really the one making these are from what we've heard not really the one making these decisions. I wanted to do more. But she do. She has basketball accurate. I'm not trying to slide her. She's amazing at running the business side writers. Right. But like we just want two answers. That's all and they have done a poor job. I think of giving us the structure or given us the answers to what? Hey, what's going on? Because to me somebody always say if you win. Hey, we all win. But if you lose somebody's fault, and I don't know who's we could say genie. But could it be robbed? Could it be like someone has to fall on the sword? And I feel like magic say before I have to fall on the sword. I'm out, especially if you let me do what I really want to do because you know, he wanted he wanted Luke an rob out. Right. You know, like I said it's almost like the Lakers in in in genie in Linda Rambus told chose rob over magic. You know what I mean? So like I said the Maddie's like, I'm not going to need to be the bulletproof vest for this franchise. Specially if I'm not gonna be able to make the moves I wanna make well that's a fascinating analogy because it's the same Annette..

"It clearly didn't work we go back to the poll that Rosh put up at the most people are putting this season on roster construction on route on rob. And magic that those that vans that are That that are are. getting the the blame. So you have to retool the construction what these guys do if you need shooters. None of these guys that we're talking about shoot the ball. Well, yeah. That's it. Yeah. I mean, you you said it I don't have any really the other than other than I believe what they said they constructed that. That's that's what they was going for. And they felt the plan was good. But I'm not going to sit up here in China convince you the Lakers they need to get past the warriors. The chargers need to get past the patriots GM key next. Happy birthday. Matt barnes. Thirty nine years old. Seems kind of old he's valuable he fills a role. Wait, which Matt Moore's is I'm going to map Barnes aren't there. Would it was a baseball player named Matt Barnes for Oakland? I think he might have been a dodger to dodger. So. That's what you get. We still get. Here you Travis you're really coughing dot com. Battaglia? I really think she's doctor Dr ooh aren't gonna eat them on talk. You got me over your frowning duty going to cigarettes for not to die. That was a bad one cigarette cough. What'll smoke. No. But that's the cigarette. Cough cough. One hundred times a day. I've been better today. That was that was the first a cigarette cough with the teller the lady, oh, the fall. Are you like oh this? She's she's smoking cigarettes. A lot better. Now cleared all out the God. All right. When that happens, you also just cut all our mics off. Well, that wouldn't sound good either. See as a teammate you should pick me up in that situation. I can't was disgusting. I'm what making sure you don't grow. That's where we go. Go dance. We supposed to pick up the slack, right? Presumably were teammates in this thing. We're on the show together. Yeah. We are. But in if I'm having a moment where I'm trying to catch my breath because I'm coughing you should help. But you don't want to see the doctor tribes. It's been like two years running. I it the more. You told me to go the less I'm ever likely to go. Whatever you told me to do. I know to do the exact opposite life advice. No. That's ridiculous. Yeah. We want you to be healthy, man. I want to you know, Nicole dead next day. Now, I want to hear that. A cold you how you heard what happened to Travis here that now I'm gonna? Spreads man stuff spreads time for GM key. All right. So we've done the Rams who've done the raiders now. It's time to do the Los Angeles. Chargers key. What do you got? Well, you know, the charges have their full according to this year with Rosh they have their full set of draft picks, and he didn't put the numbers on there. He just picked the seventy two hours and forty three minutes to say something about it. But go ahead. Well, I don't need to know what I'm doing. All right. Come down so charges got a few holes. They don't have a whole lot a whole lot of what they got a few just a few saying not very many..

Matt Barnes: trade rumors are a 'monster'

"Forget the trade rumors of crate monster. Okay. You're on a team or this happened. You guys got off a plane. No, we had a crazy situation when I was with the clippers. I wanna say it was two thousand fourteen and we were flying to Memphis. The day of the trade deadline won't say we sat on the runway for over two and a half hours while we're on Twitter at the time Antoine. Jamison got traded Byron Mullins got. So these guys are getting off the plane on LAX runway because they had been traded in the final trae that was supposed to go down with myself and Darren collison for Iman Shumpert in Raymond Felton. So we're sitting there just uncomfortable. Awkward the whole plane of silent. Everyone's kind on their phones. Like bumping each. I like, oh, David Thuan. Just got traded. Molly got traded. Oh, damn. They're talking about you. And you and call us in our. Are gonna get traded to the Knicks. So for people to say that, you know, they're professionals you just need to wait until you're in that situation. You never know how you're gonna react. And I want to say I was probably twenty nine or thirty at the time maybe a little bit older. And it still shook me, you know, what I mean? So these kids are in their early twenties playing for the Lakers playing with LeBron. So it's hard to really say, you're should be a pro and that shouldn't affect you. Because it's not true. Matt who were you upset with owner team player? Coach who will dock was everything at the time. You know, that's back when doc was GM. Right. President and head coach you know, what I mean? So it's a tough situation than after the fact doctrine pulled aside once we got Memphis and explain the situation, I wasn't buying it. You know what I mean? Like, you take it personal as a player you said because it's more than just you leaving and putting on a different uniform. I have kids I have a family. I got to go to a city auto possibly want to go to. So a lot plays into that. I mean who would want to go from L A to New Orleans, you know, with all due respect. But just who would you know what I mean? So a lot really comes into that. So like I said they're going to have to deal with this for a while. In hopefully, he can get these guys back on the same page and believing because him and his agent and magic really shook the cage. And now you've got a bunch of young guys kind of not really sure of

"So if you're playing like best ball over on fan tracks or you're playing and if FBI draft champions Martinez BB one of those guys that unless you're getting a gigantic discount. I'm talking like pick two hundred or something like that may wanna just stick away from I agree. Speaking of bullpens. It's being reported right now Red Sox chairman Tom Warner said Monday that it's quote on extremely unlikely that the club resigns Craig kimbrel. So all I got questions abound. Where the hell's it gonna go? Then our they going to do that. You're probably right there. Hey, but I do a bigger question would be what's going on with the World Series champs bullpen. Yeah. And listen, I know that you know, we as numbers same sabre guys. You know, following analytics understand that closers can kind be cultivated. And and you know, if Matt Barnes or Ryan brazier ended up having a great season as closer. I wouldn't be Uber surprised. I think it's less about putting one of them as the closer and more about the lack of depth in their bullpen. I it's it's not so much that I can't fathom how one of them is the closer. It's that that's pretty much. All they got like that bullpen sucks for a repeat for a reigning champion. And I just don't know what the heck they're doing vino was the guy that would have been such a good that was sewed have been such a good signing. And when the Yankees did into them. I thought oh my God. The knife because I can. That's fine too. But there was something about that out of, you know, signing where Hughes's laying out there for the Yankees had an excess already in the bullpen with Britain and Chapman and Matanzas and green and everybody else that they've got there. And it was just to me was the no brainer of bringing out a vino. Then at least you have leverage in kimbrel discussion. That's the problem is they have no leverage in the Kimball discussion. So he wants a Rakim over the coals. And this has got owner coming out and trying to give them fake leverage. Exactly. By the way. I do. I want to say that you bring up a perfectly great point just because he says extremely unlikely doesn't mean that they're fully out. Do not take this. That they're not gonna sign someone else for that closing job. I mean, that's true too. I mean, there's still plenty of relievers with closing experience. If that's the way they want to go out on the markets. Diogo cassia Ryan Madson is available. AJ Ramos is still available bud north unit clubhouse guide but Norris Norris.
