Chiefs vs. Chargers: Kansas City Defense Looking Weak Ahead of Sunday's Game

"All right folks will this next game that we've got Is going to be against our division rivals. The kansas talk Yeah so let's take a look at a couple of games for them. Their first game of the season was against the cleveland browns. That's who they played in the playoffs last year Let's see patrick. Mahomes put up over three hundred and thirty yards three touchdowns in that game Tyreek hill almost got two hundred yards. Goodness gracious On that game with a touchdown. And travis kelsey seventy six yards with two touchdowns so clearly we know who favor targets are guys from that game tyreek hill and travis kelsey They were pretty comparable as far as their stats go. Cleveland was able to put up a four hundred fifty seven yards. That's a big difference I think the big thing here is the rushing yards in this game in the next game. They they've put up very few rushing yards and they put up seventy two their week. One game against the browns. They put up sixty two week. Two against the ravens. So i'll and then the ravens put up to fifty and the browns put up one hundred fifty three so just looking at this and how close these games are this. Kansas city chiefs team is defense. Isn't what he was no. You can clearly see that. And i'm looking at these stance here. It looks like against baltimore. Game tyreek hill only got fourteen yards leagues. What happened here. So they've they've shut them down. While i think that's you know we put this in here to just show the fact that if we can lockdown kelsey and hill and just moderately. Stop the run. I think we're going to have a good chance and we just need to score touchdowns like you're gonna have to score thirty to beat these

Panthers' Matt Rhule Is Making a Bid for Best NFL Coach This Season

"I wanna talk about the best young coach football. And it's not necessarily sean mcveigh. It's clear that it's not only an indictment on the new york jets operation. But what you're seeing was sam darnold in the carolina. Panthers is pretty remarkable the knock on darnold out of college there to know with too comfortable wins but the knock on darnold out of college and i watched every snap was his accuracy issues. What does he completing now. Seventy percent of his throws. He doesn't make mistakes total composure. It would be easy to just say. This is an indictment on the jets but instead of just the negative side. Let's look realistically at the positive side. Not only has met rule made darnold more comfortable. This defense has twenty one quarterback hits and ten sacks in two games. What does that tell you. The culture of the carolina. Panthers is headed in the right direction. It also tells you. This is a remarkable stat on matt rule. The coach carolina going back to the beginning of last year. You will not believe this. Carolina leads the nfl with the fewest. Three and outs that with teddy bridgewater and start with. Sam darnold. nothing about that not mahomes. Not lamar jackson. Not tom brady. Not derek carr not matt ryan not russell wilson not aaron rodgers. No the fewest three and outs matt rule. Teddy bridgewater and sam darnold but this is a offensive line. That outside of right tackle graded poorly left. Tackle all the way to right guard. What matt rule is doing with this sub optimal often. It's of line. The scarce number of three out the revamping rebooting of sam darnold is really mind-blowing

The Busiest Draft Weekend of the Season Is Upon Us

"Where leading into the busiest draft weekend of the season fellas. Football is one week away. How are you doing one week away. First day of september bring on fall bring on football. I still have one two three more draft before opening kickoff. How many do you have left. I only have one draft last in. It's my Throwback super unique touchdown only league. I think we're in year thirty eight so at this point. It's kinda just tradition. It's kind of fun. Just a whole different ballgame of what we're normally used to So one draft to go there but yeah like you said one week to go. I am getting to that point where it's tough to sleep at night. I'm counting down the days anytime it gets into single digits as you can just start to feel it. I'm so ready you guys. How do you fall asleep on nights like this. Single digits what What petite asleep heavy bad not dreaming about patty mahomes touchdowns to travis kelsey or kenneth gain. Well breaking off a run. It's funny you say that because if you saw my google search history. It's just kenny gain while college highlight kenny gain. Well highlights preseason. Patrick mahomes you just you just hit it that on so But no if. I do that too long then. I can't fall asleep because i just go down a youtube rabbit hole of all of these great videos and highlight so for me. It's really about trying to shut my brain off and not think about that but to stop doing we get this call so i'm just accepting that i'm gonna lose a lot of sleep that's better than those google searches during the offseason. I've seen those in hoof. I thought i deleted those you follow. You got clear browsing history forever. man jay company drafts get left We got one draft. Actually it's a salary cap keeper league. keeps getting pushed back. So we're now drafting the wednesday before kickoff. So that's my final one. So what does that bring us for a total of leagues and how many leagues are you guys. Not counting best ball leagues not counting basketball leagues. We'll give us both does give us your best ball and just regular drafts i think of. I'm adding them up correctly. I am in sixty one leagues and fifty yuan. Sixty one fifty two other basketball. So i prefer to do the best part of fantasy football the drafting and just let the the software. Take care of the best ball.

Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Is No. 1 in NFL Network’s Top 100 Ranking

"Top ten players in the nfl as voted by their peers has been revealed in unsurprisingly. Patrick mahomes takes the top spot followed by aaron donald aaron rodgers derrick henry travis kelsey to round out the top five josh allen moved up seventy seven spots from last season to land at number ten. Okay you probably have noticed. There was one name. I did not mentioned in the top five because tom brady actually came in at number seven on the lip. Maxine brady have been tire. Yep yep the cliff is saying brady should add tire. I understand if you wanna stick. Aaron donald in there because arrand. Donald is a better defensive. Tackle than brady is a quarterback at this moment. However defensive tackles are so much less important than quarterbacks. It is impossible not to take that into consideration brady but if you wanna put donald ahead of get it. Ready should be third. Maybe fourth on this list.

"mahomes" Discussed on The MMQB Podcast with Peter King

"Thanks to patrick mahomes. And you know on a personal note You know this is the kind of person that i have found. Patrick mahomes to be early in me. Getting to know him a little bit and look everybody always says. Well you know mahomes. I don't know mahomes talk to three times a year. I mean that's not knowing somebody. But what i really appreciate about him is that i reached out to the To the franchise. When i was doing my replacement collins my guest columns this summer and i said listen. I'm gonna write about tarez paler and tarez paler for those of you. Don't know he was a football columnist for yahoo sports. Thirty seven years old He he is black and he's been a friend of mine. I'm not. I was not close to tarez but i was getting to know him more and more and this year on the day after the super bowl tarez paler died And so i- he's only. He was only thirty seven years old. So those losses felt obviously in the sports writing road but it's also felt where he lived in kansas city. Patrick mahomes new tarez paler. Well they had a great relationship. And i reached out to the chiefs. Would patrick be willing to write a short essay. Six or seven hundred words for the top of my column on tarez paler attribute collins tarez paler and basically trying to get people to donate money to a scholarship fund at tarez paler alma mater alma mater howard university. Which i thought was so important for very single reason. I started covering the nfl. Nineteen eighty-four. i'd go into a press box. I mean there might be one hundred and fifty people in that press box. Maybe three of them were black. And now i go into a press box. And if i go into a press box with two hundred and fifty people and i'm generalizing maybe thirty or black so progress is being made. But it's still not nearly enough. And so i wanted to make sure that people understood that and i asked patrick mahomes. He agreed to do it and he did it very very well. And i really wanted him to address that aspect of it the fact that we need to see more black reporters covering the nfl. And that's one of the reasons why he wrote this piece for my column and why. He is such a big advocate for the scholarship fund. At howard tarez paler. He wants another generation of sports writers. Who don't look like me to be able to find homes covering the national football league and quite honestly to just be writing about anything leaving college these days because journalism is so important anyway. My thanks to patrick mahomes. You should know that and you should know that. hey look. It didn't take three days to do this but he took time out of his off season to do that. And i am appreciative. So let's go on to my conversation. It chargers training camp last week with the rising star quarterback the los angeles chargers just in herber question. I wanted to ask you for months. Is week two of the season last year. You're standing there. You're backing up. Tyrod taylor and all of a sudden you're told you're in you've never played a live snap in the nfl in your life and now you're having to go out and play against the kansas city chiefs. Can you take me back to that moment in. Describe what it was like and then what you're thinking going on the field at that moment. Of course. I think it's one of those moments that you know i. I've looked to my entire life and being able to go out there and play football in the national football league against the reigning. Super bowl champs. I i don't think it's much better than that and As quickly as it happened. You didn't have to worry about anything you just go. How quickly did it happen. It was maybe maybe fifteen to twenty seconds kickoff and You didn't have to worry about it. as coach anthony lynn. So he comes up to he goes. You're in and i didn't have my helmet so i had to go get my helmet. Did you ask them why. No i just said all right and because we're about to receive the kickoff and i needed to get the plan you you'd get my helmet and there was things that needed to happen really quickly so i i had to run over there and get it but Fun though and then when you went out to the huddle did anybody say anything to you like. Hey kid what are you doing here. I don't think any of them. New hunter henry for the first time when he saw me out there he he almost said you know. What are you doing here. And i just said you know what run play. We're gonna run the plane and hand it off and we're going to get five yards so that's kind of how it went down but It was it was kind of funny. There did anybody on the defense. Say anything to you at that moment. A couple of guys. It kind of started spread throughout the sideline. And i remember. Joey came up to joey. Bosa and slapping on the shoulder and said all right. It's time to go. it's up to you now. And i remember thinking like oh it's my turn you know i get to go out there and play football and To have the support of those guys out there made it a lot easier and then did anybody on the chiefs. Say anything to you when you came up to the line no It was it was really quite and especially with fans out there. Either it was kind of a weird introduction to the nfl but It's funny the way it worked out..

2021 QB Consensus Rankings: Who Takes the No 1 Spot?

"Jump into our consensus rank. So is what we did here for. Anybody that doesn't understand. Consensus ranking each of awesome rank our quarterbacks from one to thirty two and then we come up with the kind of the average comes up with the consensus. I did thirty three. i'd include sam darnold. Oh okay wow. I'd so our number one quarterback. God mahomes a sexy. Is patrick mahomes. Hattie mahomes no surprises. Mahomes being number one. I think he's pretty much. Everyone's consensus one going into the quarterback position this year except for you. Thanks trial a segue. I have lamar. Jackson has my number one no surprise. Probably based off the trivia. Very lamar related both because of his his rushing upside by yes. Mahomes is not a far distant to put it that way over his last year's starter he finished as qb one in two thousand eighteen. He was cube seven and two thousand nineteen and he missed two and a half games that season and then he was q. Before last year missing a game if mahomes plays all seventeen games. He's a guaranteed top five quarterback with potential. Qb one overall like we've seen in the past and unlike the next four or five guys. He doesn't offer a huge amount of rushing upside. he does offer two to three hundred dollars. but much difference than you know. You're rushing upside type quarterback yeah. He has the highest ceiling of any quarterback. And as safe of a floor is any quarterback. And i think that's a really really important combination to have. It's crazy how consistent. He's been with the fact that he isn't a huge rushing quarterback. He certainly runs more than a lot of other quarterbacks in the league but he does it through the air. He's averaged over twenty four fantasy points per game since entering the league. Which is absolutely incredible. He's got the best weapons in the. Nfl andy. reid is a phenomenal head coach. He is so safe as long as he is healthy. Yeah i agree with that. I just disagree on the part where you said. He has the highest upside. Because i don't think he does. I think lavar does just his rushing and you can project the marta have more passing yards. You can't really project. Mahomes rushmore the only argument against that. I don't think he has the highest potential. Now that we've seen what lamar can

"mahomes" Discussed on Get Up!

"Saint this. The same man who in training camp once upon a time was telling us just how good patrick mahomes was looking so. Dan teach us something about justin fields. The young bears quarterback greenie. When i played under steve mariucci as a quarterback. He would tell us you. Don't stop gathering information. Just because the play is over you can continue to get clues or he would call them. Bread comes even between plays. And i think justin feels that against clemson in the college football playoff. It's a perfect example of his intelligence. Now i want everyone to pay attention to what clemson is going to be doing defensively. This safety is going to be the clue for everything and justin is going to go. I got my eyes on you for you to tell me to find some bread crumbs now. The play concept defensively for clemson. Is that these really responsibility. Is this half of the field okay. Like that's his responsibility. Depending on the past concept. Chris lobby at the bottom of the screen is going to have a post road. But the real concept for offense is gonna be he's gonna have a wide and hitch a senior and then across her. It's full progression. One two three to four that post her justin field. This is like a pre snap alert. Or if somebody on the defense tells you something now justin's going to drop back okay. I'm understanding that. That's our past concept. Now i want you to pay attention to that safety. Everyone that safety right now. Justin speaking out there. I don't like number one. That guy's getting wide number twos not sitting there but watch that safety watched that safety. Where's he's supposed to be deep. Is he getting too deep. Is he supposed to because justin steps back and he's like honda safety's not their post. I really wanted to throw that post. That safety is not where he's supposed to be. I gotta lobby deep. That safety collapsed on my crossing route. But i can't get that ball to him even though that safeties there. I can't get that ball to them because this pass rush is not allowing me to push that ball down the field. Okay pay attention. Remember where i told you that safety was. I got to throw that ball away. But something here told me. Justin's finding breadcrumbs is is. This is right now. He's staring at that safety. You're not supposed to be where you're supposed to be. I know the place over. But i'm gonna make sure that i hurt you. I'm not going to allow you to do that again. Now here's gonna be that same safety. He's just in a different spot. He's not down here he's up top that same guy. It's the same player. he's also got the same kind of defense that's his responsibility. You gotta cover that side of the field now. This is six plays later in the same. Dr justin didn't go to the sideline. You talk with this coach. He did this himself in the same drive. Six plays later now. The past contents. The concept is going to be very similar. Number one is on an out route. That is number one. He just happened to apple lobby. A unopposed again for step that same safety from the previous clay. Now just as good a drawback now. I know ryan date tells him. Hey if number one is open throw to one is open. He's wide open. Throw it to him unless somebody on the defense tells you you can get that post. Johnson's go you know. I don't want number one. Because i know that guy. Last time we ran this play was where he's not supposed to and i'm gonna make him pay for it. You don't allow that guy to not be in that part of the field again when you got that post. He snaps his head back. And he's gonna drive that post and that these get penalized for not being where he's supposed to be now. Everyone's saying will. Andy dalton got experienced. He does. He does put the tape for justin fields tells you he's got the intelligence. It says easy chicago. He's your starter at so good. I could watch those all day long and so.

Richardson Will Miss Olympic 100 After Marijuana Test

"Richardson could claim to be the fastest woman in the world right now. She won the 100 M at the U. S track and Field Olympic trials last month in Oregon in her time of 10 point Six seconds made her a gold medal favorite at the Tokyo Olympics. The Olympics begin this month, but Richardson has been suspended for 30 days due to marijuana use. Here's more Several top athletes have rallied behind Shakeri Richardson after she lost her shot at Olympic glory because of a 30 Day ban triggered by a failed marijuana test last month. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes tweeting quote. This is so trash man. Just let her run Former NBA great Dwayne Wade tweeting. The majority of y'all's rule makers smoke and are probably invested in THC companies. Let's stop playing these games. Richardson won that 100 M at the Olympic trials in June. But then her world came crashing to a halt. When reports of the positive test surfaced on Thursday, Richardson put out the tweet. I am human and spoke to the Today show on Friday. I know what I did. I know what I'm supposed to do. Um, No, I'm not. I'm allowed not to do And I still made that decision. She said she had just learned from a reporter that her biological mother had died and turned to marijuana, which is legal in Oregon side of the trials, but remains a banned substance of abuse based on the world Anti Doping Code. We all have our different struggles. We all have different things we did with, But I put on the face to have to go in front of the world and put on my face and hide my pain. Who am I to tell you how to cope? Who am I to tell you? That you're wrong for hurting. The United States Anti Doping agency said The typical punishment for a positive THC test is a three month band, but it was reduced to one month because her use occurred out of competition. And was unrelated to sport performance. Don't judge me. I am human. I'm new. I just happen to run a little faster. Richardson is still eligible to run in the four by 100 relay. That event occurs after her 30 Day suspension ends in late July. The final two members of that relay team have yet to be named, leaving the door ajar for Richardson's possible participation.

"Story will bring back in. Involves these relationships in the nfl between coaching quarterback that we've talked about several times when you have that you know you got something special when the coach and the quarterback are on the same page when they kind of have that unity. You saw what. What tom brady. And bruce arians able to do right away You obviously see what you have in kansas. City greg's andy. Reid patrick mahomes these. These duos are very important. We thought maybe. Sean mcvay jared goff where we're going to be that power couple. They did get to a super bowl but then things broke up pretty quickly there. And sean mcvay is this guy that clearly is the excitable one out of the two right is that goes without saying so mcveigh. Listen to how he talks about how he feels about now having matthew stafford at his as his quarterback and he did this during a press conference to promote the super bowl in. La in the rams head coach. Let's just say gushed very heavy. Thank you seem like you're in a better mood aussies. You're damn right. I am so this guy He's a special guy. One of the best ways that i can describe him when you hear people that have been around him. There's a there's a known confidence where it when he walks into a room noah's field presence but he's got a great humility about himself at. Everybody loves being around him and he's one of those guys that is it true igniter makes everybody around him better. I feel like i can come up better. Coaching a few months that we've been able to spend together and we're looking forward to get things together. Sounds pretty excited about this new relationship. "Thank you very much for being on the show today. Thanks for having me. Patrick i appreciate it. Can you tell me what you do. At as director of design and lead designer for tedious custom construction. What does that mean well. We're in a little bit of a turns transition lately just kind of suffering. Something's around making some things for efficient and so that the head of design is a relatively new role for me but we're expanding our staff of designers so that basically means you know someone has to kind of see the grand vision for b. Be in charge and make sure everyone's getting their their needs. Men has has everything available that they need to do their work. So that's kind of my role there. But i'm also still doing my own design work so the only architectural type designer in our office. So i'm doing things like additions screen porches you know. Pop up books Whole house remodels in some new mahomes as file. So i've got a. I've got a full plate right now. Lots going on and we should be clear that you are not an architect studied architecture. And you're working on your licensing right. I sure am you had a lot of working women who had to take a break from your career to raise kids. I'm guessing yeah just one daughter and then she. She took up a lot of my time and wanted to be able to focus on her for us. You know early formative years especially in a now. She's a wonderful support to me. As i'm going through my my studies in my licensure exams. I'm glad you're getting a chance to do that. I think that's awesome. How far into the process are you. I'm exactly one six six tests. And i've gotten through the first one and it was a big moment for me just getting over that first hurdle I'm actually. I could plug the young architects boot camp right now for michael receipt. I've been participating in that and it's been really great It's a way that architecture licensure candidates can come together studied together. That's what we did in in school. We're always together always learning bouncing off each other it was never in a silo. So that's been really rewarding experience for me so far

Receivers to Target in the Late Rounds of your Dynasty Rookie Draft - burst 05

"Was drafted another god. I'm fairly high on From clemson at cal. I'll let you discuss him. I think about what rogers. I'm not nearly as high on rogers as they consis I think a lot of people saw him when he went to green bay. I think everybody's been so ready for the green bay packers to have another wide receiver inserted in the draft. You know and we're just intimidating in anticipating but you know. I really don't think amari rogers profiles is the number two wide receiver in the fact. That rogers is a situation is so up in the air to say the the to say the least you know. I am not projecting broader. You're gonna be there long term and if that's the case you know is jordan love gonna be all support a wide receiver you know. Are we even sure that amari rogers is better than allen. Lazard now is dead fund as the guy that they went out and got in free agency it to be the number to receiver going into last year before he opted out. You know he's back on the roster as well and he's only twenty seven years old. I think people are really forgetting about devin. Funchess to be honest with you You know this is a guy that has already been a top twenty wide receiver in his career. So i think there's a lot more competition in green bay than a lot of people are are are getting Giving them credit for and The roger situation really makes me uneasy. Amaury writers has some talent. I i just don't think he's anything special. I just think that he's at best a middle level starter of the nfl. And i don't see much of a window of him being much higher especially as long as davante adams is on that team. 'cause i just don't see that the target share i mean it's a. It's a team that clearly wants to run the ball as much as possible. So i'm not nearly as how marta riders. I i know a lot of people are people are taking them in mid second rounds now and i think that that's a mistake. I think he was the best of water. She would come out clemson for the tape stuff that i watch. Those are good points. There's a reason as to why. I say fairly high. It's because i have a lot of the same reservation that you do. But and i do. I'm generally concerned about aaron rodgers in the future in green bay with the quarterback situation. But i have to look back at amari rogers talent and what he did in his last year and clemson and what he did was ball out in my opinion. Seventy seven receptions. Thousand twenty yards seven touchdowns. Yes he had. Trevor lawrence thong him. The ball but still in a shortened season are very impressive. Numbers and amari. Rogers is a guy that has pretty much been undervalued this entire process and now all of a sudden he's going green bay people hiding him and i'm not high on him because he's going to green by on more high in him because of the talent and the potential that i see and i do think that he has the potential to be the number two receiver in green bay S a good gig. Because even if aaron rodgers is not there in a long term disturbance excellence head coach matt floor and they still have a quarterback enjoy jordan love and we really don't we haven't seen much from during love so we can't make a lot of assumptions. But he was still you still first round pick in an quarterback the has a lot of potential people were comparing him to patrick mahomes and he. He was more of a quarterback they just needed to be developed. So i think that. I think that there's a good chance that jordan love could turn into a successful quarterback if the packers ended up do and not Having rogers under center. So i think the during the love isn't a terrible option there and lathered and function function all could be a lot number two receiver in that office. But i think long term that amari. Rogers is the better prospect for may so that is why i tend to be a little bit higher on the mar bader's

So and the run when he's healthy cell orlando brown junior change for the chiefs. Pick number thirty one and a couple of other Picks in this year next year's draft.

A brief guide to NFTs

"May have heard news recently about the auction house christie's announcing that an artist by the name of people sold a piece of artwork for more than sixty nine million dollars big price tag. The hurt the third highest price for living artists. Here's the thing though. This piece of artwork isn't actually a physical work of art that you would hang in your home it's all digital it's only digital. The work was sold through what is called an nfc. it is growing technology. That is being used a lot recently. You've probably heard the term. Nf teased quite a bit in the news recently. Some examples of this of the nba has a new collectible service called nba. Top shot where you basically are collecting highlights from nba games. So for example you might see a dunk. That lebron james makes in a game you can go to this site and you can bid on that highlight and quote owned the highlight and that is how the service works We've also seen some other people really get involved in it as well Kansas city chiefs quarterback pat mahomes launched his own digital art gallery using these tesla ceo elon. Musk recently sold a tweet of his as an nfc which seems absolutely bizarre but it gets to the big question for some of the listeners out there potentially what isn't nfc. We're going to try to break it down a little bit here. We have a lot more of this available on tech dot usa. Today dot com. So we're gonna try to give you a cliffs note version of this but to explain it simply as simply as you can for something as complicated as this. Nfc stands for non fungible token so the way it works is if you're looking at something that's fungible. It is something that's easily interchangeable. Think about money for example if we each have a twenty dollar bill we can exchange twenty dollar bills and the values the same and it really doesn't make a difference with an nfc or a non fungible token each of them are unique. Each of them are different. So i might have an nf t and you might have in an f. T. we can't trade them value for value for each other because the values of different because they're unique they're different in a variety of ways. So that's what makes them non fungible so basically what it is is because it's digital. It's not a physical thing you have. It is basically a piece of data that that you own something. So in the case of the bidder at christie's auction he owns a piece of artwork in the case of someone who saw a really cool james harden layup or pass. They owned that clip online on nba. Top shot And we've seen some other weird applications for this technology to But the way it works is it's all done using blockchain technology now for the listeners that are saying to themselves. okay wait blockchain. i don't know what you're talking about here. so blockchain works like this. It is basically. It's kind of like a cloud storage database and what it does is it tracks transactions of items or assets. Let's take something like bitcoin. For example which is a currency that. I'm sure you've heard of quite a bit Something that a lot of people used to buy things online. So you have. Bitcoin and bitcoin is built on blockchain. So what happens is when you have this blockchain technology it is tracking every time someone is using. Bitcoin keeps track of wind. Bitcoin is transferred from one person to the other for a purchase. And that's essentially what it's built on so if you look at all. The history of bitcoin has an open blockchain. It's essentially an open database where you can review the history of all the transactions that have been done through blockchain. Now you don't see people's names or ideas or anything like that but it has a regular tracking of where this bitcoin is going and so that's kind of entities are instead of a bitcoin. It's this and f. T. and it's the same principle where it using this blockchain technology it's tracking every time this nfc's ownership is transferred. And you have a ledger and accounting of every which way this has been sold or resold and so on and so forth. You know you obviously can do this with bitcoin and economically. Do this with stuff like a tweet or an artwork or in the case of a article. New york post. Someone did it with the sound of their own farts. Which again if someone's willing to buy that sure that's great but there you go. That's that's how far we've gotten with all this experts. I've talked to have said that. One of the big benefits to this is the security Because these blockchain's arc run by one central company or one central administrator there on peer to peer networks which means they're spread out across lots of computers. So there's really no one place these are stored and so because they're spread out. It's much harder for someone to say. Go in an altar records that are recorded on a blockchain. So that's one of the big things and there's a lot of talk to from experts that this might be the wave of the future one expert. I talked to recently had said that you know one possibility. Is there used to track land titles and deeds so for example instead of dealing with those mountains of paperwork that you have to deal with. When you're buying a house or selling a house or things like that you would do it all using this blockchain technology and it would be done on the computer. And it'd be much simpler wireless paper while signatures and that. That is a very fascinating us. Obviously we're very far away from a lot of this stuff. All the stuff right now feels very strange in new. And there's really a lot of hype around it. So that's why we're seeing weird stuff like people selling their own individual tweet as an nf t- It makes everything on the internet. Feel like it's a commodity Whether that lasts again. It's too early to say. I think you know. Obviously there's a lot of hype around this and it's definitely worth watching because you know i if this all you know goes as it seems like experts have suggested i mean this could really changed the way we do things in terms of buying and selling and dealing with all those Types of this on the internet So we'll see where all this technology

"Your stack the deck there, and to piggyback on what You were saying rob by saying that he's no longer going to be the trash talking quarterback Baker Mayfield has also opened himself up now if you're an opposing player on like the Ravens the. And the Bengals, you now know this so now you have to try to engage Baker Mayfield to try to get him out of this character that he's now playing. So you've opened up that can of worms in addition to everything just go out and play well I. don't care if you're gonNA. Talk Trash and talked. You could be attractive and a big Talker, but you have to back it up. Exactly now was I. Think a lot of people last year. Just thought the like A. A I'm not begrudging the guy. All these sponsors and people are coming with money to duties ads, or whatever put it just appeared like he was focused somewhere else, and I think that is the problem it's. It was like the word is cringe-worthy when you'd be watching. Even a browns game browse we play in the rams or something and they they fall behind your Baker's playing terribly, and then they go to a commercial in Baker's selling you this that and the other thing is. Awkward you where people are on on Baker may feel I. Mean you said You were pulling form? Is there a lot of people who are still in the Baker Mayfield? Camp I'm just curious. No, because people are people are fickle I would take a man of pulse of the people rob as I like to do in the the pulse of the people I would say people turn on him. Him because the browns are not a popular teen. The browns have been terrible for the last twenty years or whatever it's been. They've been miserable since they came back this version of the Browns, and plus you know how this works. We love to knock down people that think they're full of themselves. Like Baker Mayfield tear him down that that is a cottage industries, so it's like yeah, people are. Shot in Freud is the word Schadenfreude there, celebrating the taking joy out of the misery of Baker Mayfield but Baker Mayfield. An end the other part is Ben when you have to come out and say it like I'm going to be different. This time I'm going to keep my mouth shut and all that excited to the point. You don't have to do that, that's. Exactly what are you? What are you making an announcement for? It's like the people one of my pet peeves is like I've lost a lot of weight. I gained some back and I've lost it again, but I always bothered me. People send me messages. Hey Wait I. Think I'm going to start on this date like January first Domino's. We know if you want to lose weight. Just start today. Just go on a diet. You don't have some arbitrary number you have to start on. Do Today. You don't have to wait for anything now. Sit why a lot of people to announce these things I just. Give you another one, and this is what I've always said. These are the real guys and the fake God faked tough guys Ben to tell you that if you say it again, I'm GonNa Punch you in the mouth. You know what I do. I walk up to you and I punch you in the mouth. I don't have to tell you that that means that I really don't WanNa do it right, not mad enough so I'm trying to scare you into it I would just walk up to you, said something and put you in. In the mouth of you say that again I'm GONNA. Put you in the mouth. Right has my violent side. You know I'm a nice guy. I'm sorry, Ben, all right. You're very harmless. Rub Your your okay exact. I'm a good guy. Should we believe Baker may feel what he says? He's ready to shut his mouth and let his game.

"Is this phone on. This makes no sense to me. They reinventing the wheel. Why are they trying to outdo themselves to satisfy Patrick? Mahomes he kicked go nowhere. It just just pay up paying. What the what the going wait is every quarterback that gets signed gets a little bit more money and then the next guy gets more money for some reason. They believe in an NFL where guys get hurt guys. Start off hot play. Well for few years fall off. Never live up to their full potential that they want to break the bank and pray and do outdo themselves. It's the dumbest thing I ever heard of. Why what what does Proxima Homeless Heathrow and footballs that are made of gold? Is it something different? Didn't he lose a football game to Tom? Brady at home. Two years ago out. Forget about that. He won the Super Bowl last year. Right even though the forty niners just shut. Choke down the game in the second half fourth quarter right but what still you somehow someway ben water rewrite paying players in the NFL. You want to give him a ZILLION dollars. It makes no sense. The highest quarterback is getting thirty six thirty seven thirty eight. Why are you going to why in the World Ca Patrick mahomes walk out on the Kansas City chiefs? No he has two years left on his contract. None of this makes sense to me. Yeah well it's not to be the Amen Choir here but we're on the same page on this. Patrick mahomes thing that this is. He's is wonderful. This skill set is great. And there's no debating pin of the chiefs and he's going to be the center of attention in Kansas City and for Kansas City Sports. He's the hero for years to come but the second thing. This is proven to be disaster in the salary CAP era. Now I would like to see no salary cap and I'd like to get rid of it and just to have people have budgets which is the way it should work. I don't like the salary cap. But they have the salary cap. You have to play by those rules. And it has been proven that if you have a team that is a powerhouse team and then you add the the quarterback where he ends up being one of the top two or three players in the NFL. You go down. You can say that the numbers are. There's not enough of a sample size. But that's the way it's been in the NFL in his ear. And then the other point about this is everyone gets more money. Mahomes is you can get the most money but isn't the NFL going to be in affected. I know it's the off season during the apocalypse. That's been going on here. But it is going to still be a factor. I would think by the time the NFL comes around so the business of the NFL. I would think would be affected. Also how much higher? If you're the chiefs do you WanNa go here and the point just to highlight again? What you said is you're right. He's got two years left where he's captive in Kansas City. But then you've also got the salary tags that you are still in place where you can franchise tag him if you had to play that game online. So he's he's not going anywhere for like four years even if he wanted to. He's he stopped crying and what you could do. Is You whenever you get a young quarterback like this would a chance to win? You could build a pieces around him. Win tweet championship super bowls in a row. And then you could say all right. Now we'll pay them and now we're up to strip some of the team down right but you've gotten your window. Don't you want to cash in the having yourself early when you don't have to? I understand he shouldn't be playing. Pay Play for peanuts. Which is what he's doing now. Give them money but don't overdo it. Why are they? I do not understand the I just don't understand and it's not that he doesn't deserve a pay raise and a huge one but to out do yourself and outbid yourself makes no sense. You're absolutely correct the rookie contract thing and it's like I did a rant on the overnight about to a tongue of I low and I was like the dolphins should play this guy right away just in case. He's good because the real competitive advantage you have is the rookie contract is winning while the players under that rookie contract like homes and so he's already lost a year because he sat behind Alex Smith. So you've already lost that. But why shoot yourself in the leg? If you don't have to because he's still going to get his money. He still going to get a ton of money. The counter-argument is well. What if he gets hurt? I mean that's that is a part of the equation. But if you're the chiefs and trying to win as many super bowls and become a mini dynasty the heartland then. That's you don't give them the contract right now. You you push you back right and and that's the other part of it. I just I I don't get it. Maybe it was the drought in Kansas City. What they hadn't won once Moby Dick was a guppy or something right. Lombardi's packers and so now all the sudden they're just Gaga and they're passing out free ribs down in Kansas City. I guess because this this this will this to me. Sounds like it could wind up backfiring on them and every other quarterback in the League Ben. Right when you're year comes up. And it's your turn you become the highest paid guy until the next except for Dak Prescott. That's the only guy that they don't want make higher than the last contract right. The cowboys offer them less money. Total money than then I not to go down that rabbit. I agree with the cowboys on that. I wouldn't know what I'm saying but normally the well that's an indictment of him because normally everybody gets paid when Matthew Stafford's turn came he got paid. He was the highest paid player in the League. Despite no playoff wins in a decade not none no division titles his entire career so my point is if you believe in the guy you want to pay him. You should pay him. Patrick mahomes should get the highest contract which I get but to out do yourself. Why am I falling in love with him? I get it you look at them. You think if the sky's the limit you know hard it is to repeat as Super Bowl Champ. Everybody thinks that it's automatic. That can cities going to win every year. I just can't even get over like the whole idea of. It is so far fetched and so outrageous despite the guys enormous ability. I see it. I get it but let's not go crazy. He's like everybody else. He's not from another planet. This is a brutal brutal game. And you gotta be careful that you don't overextend yourself when you don't have to. You're using you trump card the rookie contract and you're throwing that away prematurely you're expediting the process which he's on have to do and it's not knowing saying mahomes should be like. Tom Brady your guy and take a little less money. I've always been down. I think that that was the dumbest thing ever is to take less money especially when Tom Brady and then people would say well he doesn't. They don't have any talent while if yourself. I'm saving you money. Ought you supposed to use that money to go hippie players. So what sense did that make? Listen if you want to discuss this what do you think you you. You agree with myself and rob here that the chiefs will be making a mistake. They will be haunted by this massive contract for Patrick. Mahomes which is about to happen. It would appear eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Eight seven seven nine nine six six three six nine..

"But I really do appreciate you filling in for Chris and it is great to work with you, so let's kick it off. We'll do it. With Scott Boras! I WANNA. Say The maller militia. Some of my guys on the overnight or bent out of shape rob. They're upset that I'm doing this year. They're ticked off that I'll doing this and I've I've irradiated them. So that, because what is that because you're not in the driver seat is not you're you're not wanting to show. Is that it? No, no, no, I think they feel like deserted them. Because I'm not going to be on tonight, so they feel like I'm doing this so. These denounce. This erotic nature of these people. That's he'll be back tomorrow night. Relax okay or still. Not Going to be back tomorrow night either next week all right? I'm sorry I don't want their man. I well, let's start with a major league baseball and Ben. We both love baseball. We see each other at the ballpark dodger stadium all the time and Scott Boras. Who of course? Science some of the richest contracts in baseball as an agent, he's putting his two cents in. We know that the players and the an ownership have to come together and figure this out so that we can get baseball possibly on the fourth of July, which would be great for. Everybody would be so American in so appropriate for the season to start then, but ben he's putting his two cents in and I. Don't think you like it. Yeah no I don't like it. He wrote an e mail. That's been circulating around here and he used the phrase. He told the players not to bail out. The owners is the language he used in I don't agree with this I've known Scott a little bit back in the day and the casually actually like him. I tried to get him as my agent. One time he declined which is a smart move say he doesn't work with peanuts. Was that what he? Worked with no but. He was so funny because He. Was Actually at dodger stadium because that's where I would deal with him, and he came up to me as We were talking about something, and I said Hey, Scott I'm in radio and you know. He knew who I was I. was I looking for at age and he gave me this whole rap at this was years ago this by fifteen twenty years ago. He's telling me like at that time. He was being approached by NBA players and NFL players, and he said No. I'm a baseball guy. That's what I know I. DON'T WANT I've turned down these other guys. "He's not as good as Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson is something has ever seen done before his grand for twelve hundred yards the more taxes on credit. There is a fantastic athlete. Who is your present. Lamar speaking to speak in your phone. Lamar Jackson is the best quarterback in the world and in the NFL and how many super bowl wins? Does he have true. How many Super Bowl? Mvp's does he have zero currently. How many how many times has he thrown for fifty touchdowns and five thousand yards He hasn't done for fifty touchdowns but he got fifty votes touche. I mean I don't know where to go with that but okay so all around passer rating N N total for for for Patrick. Mahomes an Lamar Jackson career. We're talking one ten for Pash. Mahomes and one or four point seven for Jackson so we know who the superior passer is and we know who the superior rusher is. Can I make another point here? Cheering mentioned that loved. You mentioned that the market reach fifty touchdowns right well. Let's set the record straight on. How many got in the first place which was like I believe off the top of my head was like forty three? You could check me if I'm wrong. Forty to forty okay. So it's forty three now..

"Memory Davis was removed from the hype video in New Orleans. We'll guess what we talked about it here in the studio it became a news story. So now, we've got this report. Let's take a look Anthony Davis has been reinserted very kinda sorta shortly into the hype video take him out putting them back in the hype video a little bit south over Bosman soft move because to me you don't take him out of the video until you move them. Just because he did give you seven years. And so I don't agree with not featuring all of your players until they're not on your team anymore that just basic service. It's like, you know, what he's under contract. You're getting all these offers. It doesn't say you're gonna trade them in the next three days is going to be on the roster for the next three months. Just keep them in the video. How hard is that you're going to have guys ten to fifteen on there? You gotta have him. Listen, if there's one thing I've learned during this program, the staff does not like extraneous editing. You just gotta take them out put them back. Don't try to eat the Turkey smoothies for lunch. Edit you out of the show for that. Finally, NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes had himself a great home. First year as a starter MVP. It was just a couple quirky plays away from actually taking his team to the super bonus. I hear he's also had an interesting off season. He's been active. You know, we talked about golf a second go. Let's just watch Patrick Mahomes here. You know, he's he's playing golf. He hit the ball really far. Then we haven't doing this. He's playing a little wreck ball little pickup. Just going around everybody school everybody. Jalen. Being a professional athlete in wax in regular jobs. Like me on the pickup basketball court, soft move or boss move. I'm gonna surprise you with this at this period between the end of the football season when he wanted VP until September when the season starts again. It's a soft move for him to be playing basketball. Oh, do you realize that this guy can get two hundred million dollars? Yeah. I've been. Before you know, what's going to happen? If he hurt his arm. If he hurt his knee his ankle plan basketball that's going to be a detriment to his long-term payday. See that's a good point. I thought was going to trap you here. But really, here's the thing is if you stay shape, Patrick, you use the treadmill gopher jog. There's other ways to do this to be playing basketball against combs, if he wanna play advanced cannot control the behaviors of the people around you, and they you know, what they might try little harder because they know your Patrick Mahomes in basketball, you could trip and fall really easily and bus the shoulder shot. Just get Jalen rose. Someone puts a little sides of foot underneath you. Soft move. I think you're right. But I will say this. You don't you play so hard to regular jobs. You talk so much tragic Joe's it makes me uncomfortable. And I love it so much just remember somebody had him ranked twenty six twenty seven out of thirty two those you know what I'm excited for. I love the sport of football. I love my Sunday's just locked in my bedroom. Kicking the kids out watching eight nine hours a games? From football. Me too, especially after that Super Bowl with the trade deadline happening now get two days on the weekend. Maybe one day with the Pam one day with the friends, you know, I just feel like everything's opened up for me. Now the football's over. It has it unlocked jer Thursday your Saturday Sunday and Monday night, those Monday night to right because as my neck as our late for me. No, I go to bed early stained up, especially if it's a good one staying up until midnight for those sitting in my week wrong. I love the sport football. I played football passionate about the sport of football. Love the NFL. But now, we can really just focus on the National Basketball Association because there's so much to focus on now. The trade deadline coming. Let me tell you little behind the curtain story to the people. Last year. We are both in Los Angeles on the trade deadline day. Good in the hall of fame. But unfortunately, didn't have he was he he he was lightly above you. I mean about going to play the couple of years. I might have got it. Yep. You have to change the way you play this young man because of his ability to throw the ball over your head. And what makes these guys dangerous he air Rogers in the camp is their ability to get a scape the pocket. The ability to throw the ball on the move and his ability to throw the ball over your head. And you pair that in as you mentioned with the weapons that he has their guy ever had a guy like Atari, he'll that legitimate. That's a track guy that put ball player in that. You don't need a whole lot of time to get him the ball. But they're even guys that can get him the ball down the field because normally guys with that kind of speed. They can run a guy's arm. He cannot ruin Patrick Mahomes on and so given to where it right now. I don't know what's going to be like next year. But I'm talking. About right now. I believe that Patrick Mahomes is tough cover because they don't worry about drew Brees throwing the ball. Now. He might pick you apart here there. But as far as throwing the ball over here. So my take on this. And I didn't actually hear Jared Goff say it how he said it, but I was very disappointed in Jared Goff that I have why you throwing respect for because it sounds to me like he was trying to make himself look better by hyping the quarterback he had just outplay. It sounds to me like he might have been making his case for MVP. Over mahomes. Andrew breeze in it sounded to me like he took a disrespectful shot at drew Brees. Because you can't do that. "Can he be unstoppable Mahomes is standing at his locker after the late October Broncos game pulling on white sweater? He has only one locker right now rather than the customary to for superstars we all need things to strive for. But he looks comfortable and at home around the guys after a win just like visiting his dad in a big league clubhouse. He threw four touchdown passes. But left plenty of plays on the field, including one when he rolled right and had hill open on post running across in a way, a throw the chiefs would have never called for Alex. Smith, but Mahomes Sawhill too late around the corner is a private party the chiefs host for friends and family after every home game and Patrick is in a hurry to see his folks, it all reminds me a little of Tom Brady in two thousand one the mystical embryonic stage of something special, Pat and Randy have the journalist exhaustion. Tom senior and Gaylon Brady had back then flying across the country every weekend on a ride. They had to soak up because nobody knew when it would end I might skip Cleveland pets senior said the night before the Broncos game of the chiefs upcoming opponent before thinking better of it. Now, I'll go to Cleveland. Nobody knows where Kansas City sees them. We'll in but it's well known that for the chiefs and for read over the past two decades. It has ended early Mahomes is a limitless quarterback leading a historically limited team. The chiefs have been careful with him publicly at once allowing him to be celebrated but trying to limit the toll not wanting the hype to short circuit would could be their year right now. At least Mahomes is immune to the doubt that creeps into teams that always come up short that even crept into Elway. In the years after he learned a wondrous arm alone gets a team only so far fear is his biggest enemy and the Kansas City offices. I asked Mahomes, whether there's some highlight he goes back to when he needs a lift, I never really watched anything that helps me get a confidence boost he says, I pretty much just keep it moving and keep it rolling feel like even if something goes wrong. I have confidence in myself and my team. That will fix it. Our team thing is let's roll. Whatever happens. I'll bounce back. Imagine living that way perpetually liberated. Maybe some day later in his career Mahomes will have to try to recapture that feeling when some inevitabilities of the NFL sets in or maybe not maybe a rare arm allows for an even rarer mind in the fourth quarter against the Broncos. The chiefs were up ten but Denver was slowly creeping back into the game Mahomes started to scramble but through to Kelsey. Hi and hard and into the arms of Broncos safety. Justin, Simmons Mahomes headed to the bench irritated, but not crushed for plays later the chiefs forced day keenum, fumble and Mahomes leapt off the bench hug if you defensive players in yelled, thanks for picking me up that he snatched the ball from them and started warming up his release fluid and clean an own point. All that is required of him. Mm and all that he is ever required of himself Mahomes. Never told me what it feels like to make extrordinary throws only that those throws don't feel extraordinary to him. That's the gap between him and ninety nine percent of the men and boys will drop back into a pocket this fall. But the ninety nine percent can have a taste in mid October. Sam cook.

"Yeah. And I think that other aspect of his game. Will he just has a great arm? You know, coming from being the son of a major league baseball pitcher. You know, he he was blessed with a great great arm, and he trust his arm and he's not necessarily like a quarterback. Like, you know, like, Tom Brady's. We'll just day in the pocket and pick you apart play after play after play with with little throws Julian Ed OMON and dump off James white. Drew Brees is even kind of like that in New Orleans where he's very willing to take check downs with Patrick Mahomes is not necessarily like that. I think that if you were going to compare him in terms of just the style of play it would be more to Aaron Rodgers where you know, he is he's always looking downfield is one of the most aggressive passers in the NFL, and he is not looking to take those those easy underneath passes. Although I think that you know, because Kareem hunt opened the season not getting any targets cream on. Of course, the running back for. Chiefs was not used in the passing game at all in the first like three or four games in recently. They started using more in the passing game. I think that Andy Reid being the true quarterback guru that he is has started to encourage Patrick Mahomes to hey, you know, take the easy play. When you can't, you know, running back passes are one of the most highest percentage place in in the NFL. And you you don't want to you don't wanna take the sack you rather dumped the ball down to your running back, then take a sack or throw the ball out of bounds. But that is an aspect of Patrick Mahomes development and sign that he is still getting better. Evan Silva's senior football dirt NBC's wrote a world dot com. I heard back to Mahomes in the staying power. This is something I get nervous about because Mafa bought my fancy team is Jay boys. And we took the Patrick Mahomes early in the draft. I think like the six or seven th round because I thought Mahomes gonna be awesome. But worrying about his staying power in that he can continue to produce. Like he's producing now. Because somebody who I know you in Julie in read is Marshall earth former Bronco he does various media roles he wants in. And I remember him saying this. NFL defenses are the fastest evolving organism on the earth. Can they figure Mahomes out in the next year to can they slow this down? Yeah. That's that's a really good question. And we have seen quarterbacks over the years kinda be figured out by NFL defense's. You know, I think to some extent rubber Griffin might have fallen incident category, Colin copper Nick might have fallen into that category. You know, but I think it was Patrick Mahomes, you know, like as opposed to with with Robert Griffin. And Colin Kaepernick, he has not he's not a guy who really like benefits from you know, a sort of a college style offense. They undoubtedly you know, like like an option offense, they do not use an option offense in Kansas City, actually use a lot of college concepts, but they're passing game concepts. You know, Patrick, Mahomes is although he is a very good athlete. You know, like running the ball is not a big part of their offense. And he is you know, at at his core a pocket passer a guy who can make. Things happen with his legs. But not necessarily a guy who is you know, piling up a lot of yards with his legs and getting out there and taking hit you know, because cosmic dealt with injuries and rubber Griffin third with injuries, and you know, certainly getting out there and taking a bunch of hits and open field did not help their their propensity to get hurt. But I think that Patrick Mahomes is probably not gonna get figured out because of how accurate he is. Because of how hard of a worker he is because running is not necessarily a huge element of his game and just because of his whole demeanor and his whole mentality as a passer on the field, and as just as a football player in a guy, you know, Joe asking this. You know, I think it's intriguing could Mahomes flourish in another offense. Let's say something happens. Andy Reid moves on as when I'm in tuning from the tex-. Andy Reid moves on or something happens within the organization, you think Mahomes would be. Okay..

"That's I doubt, Robin Hood dot com. Six is in the book, but we are still talking about some of the best and had to offer namely chiefs and pets. New England might have one Sunday night, but the Kansas City Chiefs certainly put on his show on national television. Patrick Mahomes nearly pulled off a miracle comeback against Tom Brady leaving quite the impression on the New England quarterback. Offense, heat delivers the ball. Those guys have a lot of speed. They catch and run with it. You know, tyreek sale play there at the end was pretty spectacular. You know, jump up, you know, catch the ball on and ability to celebrate his. You know, there's no one like the NFL. He's just he's so talented. So between Kelsey hunt, Sammy Watkins, you know the way Mahomes can throw the ball, it's it's going to be up to stop those guys too. So they got they got a good team. Sure. I'm sure they'll be there in the end. One thing it was noticed about Tom Brady, he watches the game even when he's on the sideline. He knows what everyone else does. He he's so tuned into how good his opponents are or when he goes to game plan against them. See which team do you trust more moving forward, the patriots or the chiefs. It's hard to say you trust another team more than you trust patriots because it's not Xs and os. "You know what this point last year we were talking about whether or not the jets would win a game coming into the year. That was the talk, you know, with our they tanking. So last year you had no expectations. And when you got through that year and you want up being five and eleven with the opportunity to win some other games that were given away, the talk was, well, you know what? Good NFL franchises. Don't change coaches every three years. You need to build some continuity. You have to kind of ride out some things. And it's better unless you know, for sure that the coach is wrong, you're better off keeping the coach. That was the conversation that was had clearly at this point. Now, it's becoming more and more clear that if they jets are going to maximize the abilities of Sam darnold, they are not going to be able to do that with Todd Bowles as that coach. I mean, you just take a look at some of the game decisions that they made on Sunday, which are decisions he's made before and whether or not I went back to the Thursday night game and you're absolutely right. You look at how Jared Goff looked in that rookie season. He looked completely lost and for him to take as large leap as he took an year two, it's almost hard to really look at Sam darnold in this situation and say, are we going to make hard decisions about his future when this coaching regime, you look at ten wins the first year five, five, and whether or not they get five this year. It's been almost be surprised that they did first and last podcast first and last the pot. Gaff. Thank figure out who Patrick Mahomes sound like is he gets a great win on the road against the Denver Broncos a comfort behind win and Monday night football. We got the wildcard match, upset and major league baseball. You can hear all those on ESPN radio and by all. I mean both and that's just finding good, but we do have to pay something off. So Patrick Mahomes last night went out and I think was sincere on a very different way. We've seen Patrick Mahomes put up gaudy numbers. Thirteen touchdown, three games now fourteen through four second most all time in that category. But for Patrick Mahomes last night, it was about having the ability to find a way to come from behind which was been something that hasn't necessarily had to do yet. But a ten point, fourth quarter deficit that he arranged by going thirteen of sixteen for a buck fifty three and a touchdown in the fourth quarter, my God, but more importantly did out of the pocket as well. He was ten of fifteen for one hundred ninety two yard. Words out of the pocket and Mondays when that's the post pass yards from out of the pocket by any player in the last ten seasons. So he continues to find new ways that surprise us. One of them yesterday was by throwing a left handed pass, which is pretty wild, and he had a number of those moments outside of the pocket where he just made the extra insane play. But as usual, the good quarterback always wants to talk about the team after the heart and his team. I love this team and just how we fight. We hadn't necessarily been tested in this situation yet, and it is showed that everything's the ball special teams defense and all fence that everybody can step up and everybody can make plays. And I knew we had it, and I'm glad we got the show it for everybody else..

"My, oh my, I think we've got a real start on our hands Monday night football last night. The game I was most looking forward to on the weekend was the last one that we got to saw. It was the first true road test for what has been football's hottest quarterback. You can say what you want about the record setting performances career wise that we're seeing kind of finished off with drew Brees this year, and the records that he's chasing as the season goes on and will clips for a career that has been one of these standalone hallmark careers of the NFL at the position guy who has helped define it for an age. We've seen that we've seen the comebacks from quarterbacks that we enjoyed a year ago and beyond guys like Andrew, lock guys, like to Shawn Watson, we've seen Aaron Rodgers pushing through injury to start the season, but the story of the year has been Patrick Mahomes and what this Kansas City Chiefs offense has been able to do with the second year signal caller and last night was a different version of what we'd seen. But one that I think meant more than what we had seen so far. We've seen the greatest show on turf style performances from this. You know, all gas, no breaks offense, Pat Mahomes. Last night we saw a grinded out, come from behind win. In a way that this team had necessarily been pressed into yet, and we saw due to some late game heroics from Patrick moans who talked about just the things he's enjoyed with this team. So far through the first quarter of the season, the heart and his team. I love this team and just how we fight. We hadn't necessarily been tested in this situation yet, and just it is show that every phase the ball special teams defense and all fence that everybody can step up and everybody can make plays. And I knew we had it, and I'm glad we got the show it for everybody else, and we're gonna keep it rolling as the season goes. And that was to get to bankroll this for a young player because this chiefs team outside of Patrick Mahomes and really involving it was interesting listening to some of the conversations with Pat Mahomes going into the game last night talking about his first experience on Monday night football, and you have to constantly remind yourself, this is a second year player. He's not like the rookies who are getting their first look at pro football in general, who are getting their first experience of everything this league has to offer. Offer Patrick Mahomes talked about sitting there on the sideline for Monday night football last year, Alex or excuse me out Smith was your quarterback, but he was still on the sideline for their Monday night or against the Redskins last year, got to see it got to taste it. I remember in college I was a redshirt freshman in two thousand and eight and Charlie weis at the head coach of the time, and they traveled all of us who weren't going to play who they planned on redshirt in that year, they traveled all of us on the road Michigan state in east Lansing, a hostile road environment that we played in pretty regularly because they wanted everyone to get a taste of that road environment, even if they weren't going to be doing it as someone playing meaningful minutes at that time period and you don't recognize the value in that until later on when you're back in that setting and it's at least familiar, you may be going through some new emotions and some new parts of this, but it's still familiar first and last Michael junior here on ESPN radio and ESPN app. What wasn't failure was again more of the things that Patrick Mahomes did. Because even in a game where it seemed atypical for what he's experienced, it was right on par for what he'd been doing. This is special. There's no way about it and you're, you're going to hear from one of our NFL analyst geyser just gushing about this guy's potential. Part of the reason why is the highlight reel plays that..

"mahomes" Discussed on You're Wrong... And Here's Why

"All right. We're back for our third and final segment of the show this time. I'm gonna tell you why Patrick Mahomes is the NFL's best young quarterback. We're gonna put two minutes on the clock. We're going to open up the rap air horn app, and we're going to go right now. So all hyperbole aside, we haven't seen another quarterback enter the NFL with the physical traits of Patrick Mahomes in recent memory, we've seen guys who can throw the ball. We've seen guys who understood the game. We haven't seen this level of the two of them put together. His upside is in just the best under twenty five quarterback in the league. Stuff like that is just a pit stop on the way to Pat Mahomes establishing themselves as one of the best quarterbacks. Overall in the National Football League, I feel. That's a feat I believe he'll accomplish within the next twenty eight months. Andy Reid and the chiefs were aggressive in their draft. They pursued within the homes a couple years ago and inland again and doing so they created one of the most ideal situations for quarterback to grow and evolve within the National Football League. First of all, getting to sit back and learn from Alex Smith last year was invaluable. We live in this era were quarterbacks are expected to come in and play immediately seems like regardless of where your pick third round picks are starting games as rookies in the NFL. It's crazy being thrust into the lineup too quickly and having their growth stunted as a result Mahomes received low pressure. And he had this masterclass in quarterback play from Alex Smith last year, a guy who is largely considered to be one of the smartest quarterbacks in the NFL. He got a chance to play in a game that wasn't so important. Last year he got his feet wet, and now he's being handed the keys to an explosive chiefs offense that is take. Tailored directly for his strengths. Greg's going to talk about a lot of quarterbacks. Some of whom are admittedly very, very talented, but none of whom who possessed the combination of football intelligence and pure physical tools that Mahomes has his arm. Strength is once in a generation and it's make up for the quarterback position isn't far behind. So I'm going to, I'm going to give you the fact that. Mahomes certainly certainly got the benefit of being able to sit out for an entire year and really learn. But then I'm going to say, this is one game. This is one game with against one team like the chargers that doesn't exactly scream defense at you, and I understand he has a ton of weapons. Tyreek hill is basically a video game when you watch him play. But I need a bigger sample size to say that he's the best QB under twenty five. And there's two guys who I really kind of focused in on. One has mall ish sample size, but the other has a much bigger one. The first one that I'm going to talk about is the Shawn Watson, the Texans quarterback coming off an injury didn't look great yesterday. But when you talk about the highlight reel that he put together in the games that he played before going down with that unfortunate injury, he was a fantasy owner's dream. He was a dynamic mobile quarterback who could hit deep balls and do anything that you had to do to get his team into the end zone. Now, obviously, coming off the tough thing to recover from, and it obviously gives him a little bit of a hindrance. But the Shawn Watson is only twenty two years old. He's come back from knee injuries before in his collegiate career high school, all that stuff. He's the guy that knows how to rehab it and knows that he what he has to do to get himself back to that elite level that we saw in those games and knows record wasn't great, but that's not all on him. A lot of that is on the Texans. The guy knows how to put up points. The second that I'm going to talk about is a guy in Jared Goff at twenty three years old. The number one overall pick from just a few years ago ended up leading the Los Angeles Rams to a division title as year a first round playoff exit. But let's be real first time in the postseason. It's a much different much different game in the playoffs. The pressures all there, but it's a really good entry into a situation for him where he's loaded around him..
