Walter shows died wednesday at the age of eighty and so much of the attention. She's gotten in. Recent years was for her work as lucille bluetooth on arrested development. She also did amazing. Voice work as mallory archer on archer which was kind of amped up lucille booth kind of turning her into somebody even sharper and meaner but really lucille. Blue was jessica walter's masterwork. He's beautiful boy they don't appreciate is his glasses. They make him look like a lizard. Plus he's self conscious. Gee i wonder why if that's a veiled criticism about me. I won't hear it. And i won't respond to it in both roles. She's just indispensable she so cutting and funny distinct and you know both arrested development and archer of stuck around in unexpected ways can get rebooted or coming back for limited runs that way were nothing with a cult following a really has to end. But this is kind of how you know that they actually do. Have to end because without jessica walter. What are those shows. She was so central and so essential. She had an incredible career. Know it's lazy to fall back on. Imdb when you're summarizing a career but her mdp page is basically the modern history of television. She has a hundred and sixty one credits. Spanning roughly sixty

House passes bills with path to citizenship for "Dreamers" and farmworkers

"Bills to provide legal status for millions of undocumented migrants. One bill offers a citizenship pathway for undocumented young people known as dreamers who were brought to the U. S. As Children. The bill's co sponsor, Democratic congresswoman Lucille Roybal, Allard said supporting the legislation was the honorable thing today. Protecting our dreamers and providing them with a path to citizenship is not a partisan issue. It is an issue about who we are as Americans and what is in the best interest of our country. Passing the Dream and Promise Act. We will live up to our American values of fairness, justice and compassion. And these incredible young dreamers, like generations of immigrants before them can continue to play their vital role in the well being of our nation. The legislation now goes to the Senate, where it's unlikely to pass easily. Philippine President Rodrigo deter say

Becoming Part Of A Shoppable Life

"Today. I'm signing up to be a reward style and fluid sir. When i talked to amber she told me how to do it and it sounded pretty easy. Pretty painless you would go to reward. Style dot com or influence or page in apply and team is actually looking for certain things. We've got those applications. And then we make investments and influencers that we think are investable so go to www dot reward. Style dot com. Everyone on this page is so good looking. I'm not as good looking. Apply now bone. Tell us about you first name. This is way easier been harvard region. I live in philadelphia. But i have a lot of friends in new york and la which seems a lot sexier not release. Not sexy love. Felli best city in america please provide all the channels. We post content to regularly. I don't know what has these are. what's clerk. What's billy billy. Now i don't even i can't even think about tiktok username. Joa piazza right. These questions are optional. But can help increase. Your chances of being approved cleese. Identify one of the categories. You need help with monetize. i wanna monetize myself. How much time do you plan to dedicate to create and monetize content as little as possible. That's not true. I'm going to tell them fulltime. You'd think they'd ask you more. You think they'd want to know a little bit more about me. Like do you like to take long walks on the beach. i'm virgo. I enjoy pasta. But i've been doing a kito diet recently right bam until we got rewards style application. Submit it now. I just have to wait. And see if i get accepted while i wait. I want to figure out what a shop of a life means. So i called. Emily hunt from pentagon shop will. Life is a term that i came up with with my colleague lee mcguigan. We are looking for a way to sort of encapsulate. What was going on on instagram. With monetize saying their lifestyles so shop ability as this idea that any place piece of content experience could be a potential site of commerce. So when i wake up in the morning in my brooklyn and sheets and make my way to the bathroom. Use my billy razor to shave the bottom half of my legs and then put my everyday oil on my face to get. That just got screwed. Glowing. what yes. Hi genuinely loved these brands. This is not an ad. These people are not paying me yet. But if we're award style of proves me. These could all be potential sponsors of instagram side hustle. But the thing about being shop -able when you start documenting and broadcasting your entire life on instagram. The opportunities for product placement feel and less is all has the potential to get real overwhelming real fast. A lot of the mom influencers. I've talked to say they have moments where it's hard to separate their real life from their brand friendly instagram life. But only i was learning that everything i saw was content. That changed the way. I did everything. I was thinking betting. Because it was what i liked and also. Does anyone else have anything like this. How is this going to graphs. Can i leak to lose and get an affiliate of it. That's natalie eleven again. We talked the last episode. She was one of the early mom influencing celebrities. The creator of the. Hey natalie gene instagram account and that blurry boundary between life and business that she describes that was so disorienting to her that she eventually quit this crazy world. But we'll get to that later episode for now back to emily hunt your participation in commercial lights is no longer limited to actually going to a store shopping as something that could potentially happen anywhere. This is sort of been growing sort of creeping up on us long time. We've talked about the history of influencing already. We talked about lucille ball revolutionizing mom influencing on tv. But there've been other versions of the shop -able life to especially if you were a kid in the eighties and your parents watch. Tv late at night. You're going to recognize a lot of these. You know we kind of talk about like older forums like if you think about like an infomercial. The following is a great advertisement for the express. Ready set go brought. That was like an early attempt to make watching television a shopping experience so the shop will life on instagram. It's just this idea that we're presenting our lifestyles in images and in instagram stories. And that they can be merchandised. Monetize pretty seamlessly the merchandising and monetization of instagram and instagram's stories is the idea that you can buy another person's entire life with just one click. It's amazing watch. How it's as easy as putting in your fingerprint. And within a matter of seconds you can go looking at this picture of someone's life to owning a piece of that life. I don't pretend to be exempt from this either. I recently bought a rug for my bedroom. And i think that's part of the appeal of more generally is they make life easier for their followers.

"Welcome back everybody. This is episode sixty two of finding her. This is julia busby. And today. I wanted to tell you. I'm so excited to be back yet again. Working on that consistent schedule that i am in the midst of creating a collection of podcast episodes that are directly connected to anxiety how to identify coping skills. What to do. What do you have in your purse on the fly. All the things and i'm really really excited. I reached out to my community on facebook and ask them what they thought. Good topics would be that they would want to hear. I came back to a plethora of a massively packed feed with ideas and thoughts. And you know a little bit of their own experiences. And you know ideas that i could use to make the series and i really love making series For the show. Because then i can dive a little bit. Deeper can add more guests instead of just doing rando shows If you haven't heard the body positivity movement series or The bravery series. I also did another one where we looked back into attachment style theories toxic relationships and then also rewriting your own personal narrative so go ahead and check out some of those episodes in the previous years of the show. It's crazy it's been over two years now but today. I wanted to talk about a instagram post. That i did a while back. It was on the topic of bravery but it was something that just didn't make it into the show But only on instagram. Sometimes i write freely in there in my blog and sometimes do add those into the show. Sometimes i don't but this one i thought it was really good simple and i could take it and create an entertaining my life and they're our lives and then also it could be a segue into the anxiety series so i found a quote a long time ago during this time. It says i'm not funny. What i m as brave and it was written by lucille ball right. Who doesn't know her so the beginning of my instagram posts starts with this lucy. You've got some explaining to do as a little girl. I remember sitting in front of the tv and watching reruns on tbs of the eyelid. Lucy show do you remember watching it too but you do..

How Desi Invented Television

"Does he says was born in santiago cuba rich powerful family. He loves to joke about it on old talk shows here. He is on the tonight show with johnny carson. My father was the mayor of my hometown. My uncle was chief of police. We had that town prewar really. My great grandfather was appointed mayor of my hometown by queen. Isabella way gone. I'm sure is that always makes you laugh. But there was a revolution not the castro one the one before that and the arneses fled to miami. Miami in the thirties is growing hugely and a young desi tries his hand at theatre and music and movies. Eventually he becomes a popular bandleader as well. This is the preview of a new ban. And we're confident that in a very short time you'll be hearing a lot more about desi arnez and his orchestra not just hearing about them dancing to them. Desi arnez started the craze of the congo line. Boop boop boop of robert. This is a scene from the movie called. Too many girls in the ad for it literally goes to many girls film on the arcadio sound lot in nineteen forty and in this same a young gorgeous desi arnez is leading a line of dancers to the congo. Now robert i do not wanna overestimate how crazy nuts. This scene is. It looks like i dunno. Imagine a halftime super bowl. Dance number with congas fire jugglers trapeze artists studying. There's no such thing as too many congolese. now now. this is just the movie version. In our memoir. He talks about how he would be playing a gig and how a conga line with breakout out and go through eight or nine different clubs in south beach with a line stretching for blocks and blocks the movie too. Many girls is notable for another fact. A co starred this up and coming red-headed comedian lucille ball. Desi by the way didn't get the girl in the picture he's as the eye candy. Lucy ends up with somebody else but on the set of the movie but two of them hooked up fell in love and would eventually marry. They set their sights on a way to spend more time together. That's two people in love. Did they wanted to do. And this was pretty new at the time a television show. Now i wanna take a moment to tell you what. Tv was like before. I love lucy. It was pretty close to people being just a cardboard box with a cutout they do little plays facing one camera and at the time most television shows were live and broadcasts from new york so tv was sort of like radio but with pictures and just as ephemeral they had this technology called kinase co which was a way of sort of recording a video screen and it looked terrible. Grainy and most importantly it didn't last they used to record the shows alive in new york and then replay them via kim scope three hours later in california could barely see it on tiny. Tv sets and then it would disappear but doesn't really wanted to capture the magic from the movies they had done. They wanted to make tv shows as good as a hollywood movie and they didn't wanna move to new york but i they had to convince the t. v. executives. This is not going to surprise you but there were no interracial couples on tv. In the nineteen fifties. Lucille ball had a popular radio. Show with a white actor playing her husband and as deputy tells it the tv execs. Were like wait. A minute why you do a tv show with lucy and that guy. The husband and the radio show was richer then was a tall blonde brew. I vice president of a bank or sometimes you'll be able to get away with that part you know. Say who the hell is going to believe this Baba loo pharaohs. yeah cheap. it american girl you know. Yeah he ain't. Bob lou fellow and she certainly is not a typical american girl so dizzying lucy decide. Hey let's go out and prove it. So they went on tour across the united states remembered as e is a bandleader. And so at the end of the shows lucy would come out and do little skits dot com now in this famous scene. Lucie is dressed as a showgirl and she's singing so every time she goes boom sticky. Boom she swivels her hips and every time she does disease hat falls off. I laugh every single time and across the country people love the real crazy chemistry between two of them proves to the television executives and the network sponsors that yes

Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem in Talks to Play Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in Aaron Sorkin-Directed Film

"You've got split into. That's as close as i will ever get to desi arnez voice because it has been announced that aaron sorkin is making a lucille ball and desi arnez bio pic starring. Nicole kidman and javier bardem. I guess this is amazing but also it seems kind of terrible as as ideas go. What was your reaction to this news. My first reaction is. I'm just glad that nicole kidman and gets to have a little bit of just the tiniest bit of fine. Did you ever happened to catch the prom. Was the ryan murphy. Film version of a broadway musical speaking of things. We'll be discussing later on this podcast. I sure did. And i was not a fan nor was i. The only thing that i could say is like when they let nicole kidman do something which was very rare in this. She seemed to be having the time of her life and she was like. I don't have to have a breakdown. Like on a courtroom stand and talk about like really grim things while being filmed for once. And i'm flying free and so you know i assume this. Is i think this project in one form or another. I think errands has been trying to do this for a while. If you google. They're kind of like mentions of this project. Bopping around and i think it's about their marriage and working relationship presumably their ups and downs in it. Because it's a marriage. So i don't think it'll all be sunshine and roses for her but at least you'll get to do comedy. Yeah i think that's right on the one hand. We have seen her do comedy a few times in the past perhaps most notoriously in bewitched your icon nora ephron i kind of interesting but kind of bungled but kind of notable movie. What were you gonna say not. Everything works in not everything works. I'll say next week we're going to talk about one division. And i think the bewitched conversation and the idea of using bewitched as a satirical vehicle into another story is new again so as usual ephron ahead of the curve there nevertheless nicole kidman i. Is she gifted comic actress. I don't know maybe she doesn't have to be for this obviously lucille ball. Desi arnez their story as showbiz. Pioneers is not just a comic story. There's there's a lot of high drama that's place there. The other thing. I thought of when i read this news was that one of aaron sorkin non adapted works to to screen is something called the farnsworth invention which is about essentially the creation of the tv by filo farnsworth and we know that the origins of television and the origins of entertainment are quite important. Taryn sorkin and to the kinds of stories. He's he's often telling stories about people at the forefront of a new life changing kind of technology or culture. We've seen it with steve jobs. We've seen it with moneyball. We've seen it with the social network. He loves to find pioneers and tell their stories. And there's no doubt that. And lucy were major pioneers and tv. So you know. Of course we're going to watch it and devote six to twelve episodes about this on our show. And i'm sure it'll be good slash not good.

Visual Illusions Deceiving Neural Networks

"I i'm. Martine was the researcher at the university in barcelona spain. Welcome this show. Tell us a little bit about what you studied there. As i say. I started some years ago so now undoing Study was mathematics and computer science with them led me to computer science. Masterson abused deal nimitz processing on. Now we were basically in image processing ongoing recent techniques with For models that comes round this study obesity in humans. Got just so. I know we always hear this analogy. That's deep neural. Networks are kinda like the layers of the brain and i think sometimes neurologist cringe a little bit when we make the comparison but i'm not sure how much they cringe. Maybe some of its fair. What's your perception there on. The comparison between a neural network and artificial neural network and a human neural network. I will definitely creamed celso like us. Now it's an of the networks of course inspired Network this we all know that this simplification and naturally i think more and more people are working on trying to go from that simplification. some Actually are margaret. And you'd mentioned part of your work includes looking at models that are used. The word inspired but something along those lines from the human visual system. What are some of the ways in which one might be inspired in that fashion will actually. It's it's interesting because the model of activism neural network is inspired beecham's so when people started to look at how actually sees you start to mobile A stack of layers where we have some with some filters When we envision us oriented field. There's that can see recent vertical different frequencies To obedience actually like a very simplified note. Landlord say i'm not really someone knows a lot about the brain but i'm vaguely aware that our eyes are somewhat imperfect in the brain does a lot of cleaning up yet. I don't know if that's true in the more computer vision. I think our cameras are maybe more accurate than the human eye in some cases. And there's not quite as much cleanup. Are these fundamentally different approaches. Or at the end of the day do both systems have basically the same day to set. Nah i think it's a analogy because there's a bar that is only the information that we receive from the exterior. Let's say the luminance of they're seeing on the This on bar. But of course we don just see that we processing formation on this is why we say that we actually we perceive information because there are some other things that are happening in our brain taking this information on combining with everything that we know from the beginning memories although stop so we actually is when we see at camera. recording is actually taking just some information soon so the analogy would be computer. Actually tried to do this analogy so when you put so not. What's behind those cameras. Tried to do something without information. Either retail They're like following someone. Then you're more or less doing this analogy how ac. Because when we see we are doing something with information is it not only just preceding the light which is the dot com era's i saw perceiving and processing. Then is that right. yes exactly. Yeah it makes sense. Well the main work. I invited you on to talk about with the paper titled convolution neural. Networks can be deceived by visual illusions. I thought maybe we should start with a definition of a visual illusion in my mind. I'm picturing like the image where it's either a candle or two faces or maybe some. Mc art is there a formal like mathematically satisfying definition of what a visual illusion is own. Think so. I think it's something that you see one but is not so easy to describe. I would say that the these right is something. By general it would be some images stimulus usually name it that actually cows illusion in your rain and illusion will women with any lewiston. Is that what you perceive is not consistent with reality. So we've got mr light actually with photo mentors for instance and we can measure a color. That is different from the one that we are proceeding. So that's obvious lucille. When actually the reality perception are not in the same face

"But if you catch them really early on, you defend about great habit because your business plan it isn't just something that you do once and you leave it if something you look again and again and again, right? Yes youth and I mean. You, it's almost a porno reference like you just say like it's a point of reference for you and I don't think you take it lightly. As you may be would you know if you are further along like like? I. Said, we form these these horrible habits. Myself even during this If. You had to side girl you trip in you Joanna. Obvious. You know it really. it made me more cognizant of some of the things that I was doing. And that I needed to revamp. Now for me, it was a lot harder because again here you're talking about somebody that's been in business for eight years. I needed to make adjustments for me. I had to totally dismantle. Lucille. Like totally mantle star over now was that a long process noble was very work intensive. Yes I. Think. About want the listeners to think about it within the first two years if anyone's ever been involved in. Say like building planning or anything like that takes a couple of years for them to you know get the blueprints. Get on combating permits. All of that stuff before they realize are making grind like I've heard that it's taken like two to three years to like physically playing out a building before they even. Brown. Yeah. A little bit of time but think about trying to remodel a home. Or trying to live that's bailouts. Do Anyone I. Watch it. Yes and it's a lot more expensive and. That it's not worth it because it is worth it will you're dealing with the clients and the people that you to. Sarah but quite okay. Yeah some stuff you know you should have done prior to now than trying to. The I'm not such a good point and it's like you say that sometimes we need to do that evaluation of ourselves because you get so cool to from what it is that you do in that sometimes, we need to give ourselves those moments of reflection where we can kind of sit back and look to say this is where is that I? AM? Where do I want what more do I need to be doing because you can forget that and I think what you said is so important the. Fact that you know you're an established business you realize there was some changes that you need to make. Those are probably uncomfortable and I think sometimes when people hit a costume thin, that's uncomfortable. You get resistance he date wants to push three because people like being comfortable. You wouldn't opt to put yourself in an uncomfortable position. You WanNa stay in your comfort zone that you can't grow from there you have to. You have to get uncomfortable in the way that you get comfortable is when you stop for. Right. When you start changing when you start doing things differently. Exactly and you know I felt like in May. Be You know this is me you know just trying to be super optimistic about it but I think it was a good thing for me I think I needed to I needed to do that it really brought me. Say that. I. Felt like I was so superior but it really ambled me a lot to say girl you. Okay But thankfully. There's room for improvement especially when you are talking to. Women because I'm I'm with you I feel like that's my audience. I love women I love supporting embiid about women like my blog is totally dedicated to women featuring them and things like that and so I have a hard for women but it made me it made me think about how last showing up..

"The intuition of his poems that survival is not enough even powerful surviving and thriving thriving alone and flourishing alone isn't enough. She's inviting people into a new way of imagining flourishing where they recognize everything that she's lived through and they see that as a celebration see those beautiful see that is of touch and sensuality on holding because she knows it is she's not asking for pity or charity to be included. He's already included and she's inviting people into this new economy of observing the body, the physicality of the body and every way within which that body has had to survive in light of systems that would have tried to annihilate that party and I think that that is so meaningful and powerful. Coming from very far away and being Irish, who looks at the impact of Irish migration overseas and the racist history of Irish people overseas as well I find myself strangely moved and guiltily moved really that Lucille Clifton has written something. That's so generous. Because I see myself in this poem as a white man and I, see myself as a white man listening to this and realizing that me and people who looked like me especially, men who looked like me are the ones who are being appealed to listen to the voice of this black woman speaking to us and by us I mean men like me and listen and pay attention. To reform our eyes and to reform our imagination about what it means to recognize the.

"Lucille Ball was honored with many awards we could never list them all but we will talk about some of them are for one thing she won four Emmy awards best comedian in nineteen fifty two Best Actress in a continuing performance for I Love Lucy in nineteen fifty five an outstanding continuing performance by an actress in a leading role in a comedy series which is a mouthful of a category for the Lucy show in both nineteen sixty seven and nineteen sixty eight she was given two different stars on the Hollywood walk of fame one for her work in film and the other for her work in television and while here's Lucy was on the air ball received the international radio and television society's gold medal in nineteen seventy one that made her the first woman to be honored with that award in nineteen seventy eight she was honored with the Hollywood foreign press association's Cecil B. de Mille aboard he was honored by the Kennedy center on December seventh nineteen eighty six it was a bittersweet event because does he have died just five days before during the ceremony actor Robert stack who had starred in that doesn't leave so the untouchables read remark that does he had written I Love Lucy had just one mission to make people laugh we see gave it a rare quality she can perform the wildest even the messiest physical comedy without losing her from her feminine appeal The New York Times asked me to divide the credit for its success between the writers directors and cast I told them give Lucy ninety percent of the credit to buy the other ten percent among the rest of us does it included Lucy was the show Viver Fred and I were just props Sam good props the props nevertheless PS I Love Lucy was never just the title after her death in nineteen eighty nine she was posthumously awarded the presidential medal of freedom and in two thousand one that Newsweek named her the top female entertainer of the twentieth century if it were not for Lucille ball's incredibly skilled and dedicated comedic work on I Love Lucy we might never have had other women led comedy shows like the Mary Tyler Moore show and laverne and Shirley the many shows that make me ask why are we still talking about whether women are funny but her influence goes a lot deeper than that came the first woman to run a major Hollywood studio so she was not only a trailblazer as a funny woman but also as an executive and if a savvy businesswoman she was employed in Hollywood for more than fifty years continuously something that not many people can boast she once said that she wasn't funny she was brave and while she had started her career as a model and was in fact a great beauty she set herself apart through her willingness to do crazy stunts and look foolish being pretty it seems was not as important to her as being funny she was willing to do broad physical comedy at a time that it was still considered the territory only of men and in doing so she opened up the door for women who came after her also during her Kennedy center honors presentation Robert stack said quote it will always be remembered that you established a place in television for women HM to bring up kind of an interesting source according to Arnold Schwarzenegger writing in his autobiography Lucy Lucy once gave him the following advice about working in Hollywood although I think it is a place for almost anything in life quote when they say no you hear yes someone says we can't do this movie hug him and say thank you for believing in me I love them so much and I can still hear her saying it's fantastic I know it's very seldom Lucille Ball fans yeah I I love the long long trailer it is V. starring Lucille Ball and desi Arnaz areas of they might be giants song called everything right is surrounded I really love DeBerry was a lady and I I will say this I have one beef with the I Love Lucy show yeah it's so specific and nerdy and dorky and weird today dressmakers there was an episode where she was trying to make her own dress and she did the gag was that she accidentally said it laid out on the floor and that she accidentally cut out the carpet along with the fabric which one if you've ever cut out fabric you know that would be hard to do but to when they lifted it up it was first sight gag appeal but it looked like the outline of a dress that didn't actually look like a piece of this pattern and I remember as a kid seeing them be like that's not how you make a dress so that was my pedantic moment as a childish seamstress both the child seamstress and a child this seamstress later in life via Hey we just wanted to add a quick little note at the end of this one since we did reference Mary Tyler Moore at the end of the episode we recorded this before her passing so we just wanted to acknowledge and thank her for the laughs do you have a listener mail yes and it's pretty light I have two postcards the first one is from Ashley in June and they say why clothing in history come together I can think of no other person than you they sent a lovely postcard from the Charleston museum in its nineteen fifties jade green chiffon evening dress it seemed kind of a good match for Lucille Ball episode because I could see her wearing something lovely like that they also say Charleston is lovely in so many ways and each street tells the story wishing you all the best in the new year fantastic we also got a postcard from Stephanie that she sent from overseas she says dear Tracy and Holly thank you for all your hard work your podcast brings me so much joy my husband and I honeymooned in Iceland over Christmas and I wouldn't shut up about the cobblers in the Yule lads both of which I know about because of you wonderful ladies thank you congratulations on your nuptials Stephanie yeah in her race for having similar trip to Tracy in your honeymoon I love it if you would.

"Mean like it was originally I hate these two plastic surgeons you could upload videos and it world Canada amy yeah totally organically became racial as it is want to do yeah apparently she she did though like ask rich not to make these sites he sounds crazy to yeah there's a quote from him there's a few from him where he said Lucille asked me to help her with the case but she really was floored with was floored by the way I attacked Ebola's lawyers and the judge time she seemed to enjoy my crusade though I remember her commenting that the judge looked better as angry rude and she did as a woman like like a kangaroo court yeah you must have made a cartoon where the judge was a kangaroo a good one coped she also got a real kick out of his attorney wearing a gun cap wow scared in commentary in it's like sniper Charlie Hebdo cartoons if you ever saw the brave like political commentary and it's like a picture of Mohammed was like stink lines above him got him as is what I think is Bob that's Jim Carey started making art and I like aboard wanted to make our he's a multimillionaire who has resources to like really incredible paints and all trump that's like gigantic with him like literally like he's Got Shit on his head like super serious so what made you get into like political commentary and he's like it's the final line has been crossed and like one personnel to say something otherwise no one says anything and again like cut to a picture that's like Donald Trump's got tits leases yes so he said that he also said that outrageous methods that's the quote outrageous methods the they needed to use outrageous methods to draw attention to the case because his big thing rich pers- was that it was an attack on the first amendment because they were trying to like stop her from saying these things Nice this is the ideology of terrorism he also said quote she she needed to be an advocate for others so two thousand ten comes around and epilepsy wins the case he wins forty thousand dollars dollars in damages in court costs just take it from her face and an injunction against her like permanently fucked she can't speak to him or anything she can't approach him a year new kate was him at all money right well twelve days before this this injunction was issued he committed she took her own life can't stuff saying committed suicide it does sound bad took her own life let the bodies hit the flow she let her Yeah so I mean he like one the case it's crazy it's like yeah now did they not know that I guess too the case but God guys feel like a little bit attacked could fucking God she's dead twelve days later they're like you win you get forty grand from her estate Dead Day God days that are those mean things about you thank God they weren't true as you take her dead money and so after she took her life Berge Ron was interviewed and he said Yeah that like it had basically all of it taken such an extreme toll on her that she just almost couldn't function as a person he said quote just getting groceries to to her car was a struggle and then here's the big thing and like maybe I don't know in what capacity I don't know if there's a suicide note or if she sent a letter or something but she asked that a comprehensive autopsy be done on her head and neck to prove that her complaints were real and the coroner did not do that I would like an autopsy on my neck my back my pussy and my crack please make sure the corner of course wouldn't follow no her demands or whatever but that's this is really interesting quote from him in the end all she really wanted was an apology it sounds so simple in meaningless but it means so much more than anyone realizes and that's a direct quote from the out of them she definitely had some sort of form of mental illness that was probably giving exacerbated by a lot of this yeah and that's probably very true where he's like really starving podcast network.

"Deathrattles for coming that is calming no no no no no no experts you should be done baby remember baby I'm GonNa stay over this great last forever it's so tough that's the thing I was like I do I mean she's almost opening what public form hosting about it so it's like also know that it's tough because doctors get a lot of like every doctor gets some malpractice suits yeah just like whatever you do you're going to get some bad reviews d tailed photography until in two thousand two Lucille is now fifty two years old apparently this fell Dr Feldman said this in an interview a patient got into his office holding some of Lucille's photos from the Internet and was canceled the surgery with him and was basically like fuck you you're an abusive surgeon and so he sued her for defamation in local court he won got a restraining order she was no longer how to message him write him letters talked to any of the doctors at all he also got a court order demanding that she remove all of her photos that were misleading or statements that were inflammatory from the Internet. Wow Yeah and that's not on board with that ruling well this is the here's some of the things you did like I said she called him a butcher she sent letters to the doctor's telling them to rot in hell she offered in the letter to send them her severed head after she killed herself so they can look at it and see what they did wrong okay that one is over the line this is a direct quote from the letter enjoy your smile while you can and it may be permanently wiped off your face when you least expect it he's so like there's reasoning yeah I mean like no I mean yes yes I mean it's definitely upsetting as harsh language but she isn't saying I'm going to kill anybody she said enjoy your smile while you can it may be permanently wiped off your I think she means when you least expect it you mean oh she's saying that to the doctor I read it as saying it to the doctor Oh I honestly when you said that I thought she was other people like enjoy your smile while you never know when it's going to be white permanent we'll maybe that is why she man stupid no no I think maybe you're right Sake Holy Shit what if this is like one of those things where people I just sometimes wonder when people are going to get like this is kind of a harsh ruling where it's like you can't say anything about this that's so interesting you went through anymore I'm glad that you're thinking about you're thinking yes because I disagree one hundred percent I like it's cool that we are both were coming at it from the two sides because I literally think if I put myself in his shoes this is four years of someone posting publicly about me and sending me letters inch that is harassment and sure yeah it sucks that this went wrong and so that's her side of it but if I think if you remove that element I'm getting harassed yeah right kind of feel that way about definitely use on that line but but you're right if take this I mean I guess I get fucked up that's one it wasn't being yeah and that's stupid me almost at the beginning where I'm like what does she look like to have visual is on it but all I can see from it right now is just apparently she was so agitated by the surgery that for four years she's like it's weird it's on the line you know there's a lot interpretation like yeah and I guess like if you the other side of that is if you've been posting out this and asking for help for years you might be driven to extreme things like saying rotten hill run hill you know really how do you tell someone off that can't be then like brought up in a court transcript yeah you know it's like rotten hell so you can fuck you hell asserted doesn't we don't know what was the one before that the one of the big one is saying that she'd send her severed head to them after death okay siren bells line we'll also I'm coming from a place of having read all this stuff and I'm not saying this I'm not at all saying fucker or something I'm just saying like I have all this information and it sounds like definitely she went through something hard that was bad for her and then also there she reacted extremely that's how it feels but I also again that's not fair of me it's not because I don't know her and I didn't see here during that time you're making a good point this isn't necessarily just one way it's not cut and dry there's an interesting source literally no way of knowing I mean she there she did an interview with the Boston Globe in the interview said originally I admit I wanted to name and shame them now I want to warn other people this dangerous business is something bad happens you may never be able to get any answers fair now exactly oh totally man I am the most flipflop so I'm glad you had that about the court order because I will say I thought just from a legal standpoint if you just look at getting angry letters it's just like matter whether it was deserved or not. If you're angry at a bar you're getting thrown out whether it was your fault you're pissed off or not that's kind of how I feel in a bar you'll get thrown out but feud right that bar letters now right no one is a public safety thing you can't just be angry in a bar and like possibly causing silence or something but the other is complaining and being like excuse me through me no but my point is that like whatever the reason she was sending angry letters she was sending letters that contain things like I'm going to send you my severed head that's over I'm just saying like she was doing things that were objectively angry and scared sorry for the person she was doing it to even if it was deserved a court is going to be like Oh okay step one is this stops that's all I mean by that especially sense so now there's this next detail well sorry I just thought of something that I think could be a good point okay which is just it seems sad that basically the court looks at a case like that and it's just like you know who's harming who rather than like this woman may be clearly need some sort of like mental health help we'll right which is that's okay so the other thing that's important to know is that so that happened in two thousand and two unbeknownst to that entire group people in two thousand one she went to another plastic surgery in in Indiana named Dr Berry Epi and she purposely went far away from home to find on who wasn't associated or knew about this at all I think but also someone who was far away enough from it that they would be like better I think she did research on someone who is a better plastic surgeon yeah so like I say this partially to reinforce what you just said we're like there's some mental health issues at play here first of all just with threatening suicide like yeah suicidal thoughts alone is mental health but then relate to other people as like here this is dangerous in your yeah yeah so in two thousand one she went to an Indiana surgeon named Dr Barry EPA lead to get a facelift I'm him and she literally told him her faces Saggy I wanna fix that from an old surgery and so he did the surgery and she was again very happy with it within months was calling and e mailing him almost every day yeah yeah oh and this time she said that she had respiratory problems from the surgery see she said that she couldn't close her mouth all the way she said that it had affected her neck muscles really badly she couldn't swallow right and she couldn't breathe right if she tilted her head back that's what she said and so Dr f Lee was apparently and this is really interesting because two thousand for the year following that surgery he the very responsive to her which means that she was going through this with him in two thousand two while getting sued by Dr Feldman and you can't find rules about both things so like os doctors never talk to each other Oh this is why it's been scrubbed so my because of the court case there are two cases they'd have had it scrubbed and those doctors probably at this point I've talked but at the time that people were writing about it publicly they didn't know each other they weren't aware of the those two cases raising guys listening to this podcast and share it immediately before it gets scrubbed their names I was like L. Way they're k. you're talking about the case we don't want you to talk about the case I look it up Dr Apple is still practicing and when's he going to get perfect kicked doctors always practicing never getting right malpractice makes perfect the doctors he was very responsive to it like very very responsive he would call her in and do more and more and more tests and and just kept saying her that he doesn't think there's actually much wrong this is normal I think that's like what I gather you are X. amount old doing oh so much yeah and also he like brought her in for other consultations consultations with other doctors and apparently they would do tests on her and she I had very specific ways she wanted them to do the tests that fucked the tests up sadly this two lines in an article that I read and I couldn't find any more info on that so I don't really know what that means but apparently she was being very nitpicky with these tests and very like aggravated yeah partially because she's been through this a lot you know Turn a fuck with them maybe trying to fuck with them the whole case open that she has legitimacy detour honestly maybe just like a little I don't know perhaps not has some sort of mental health issue you that she is not rooted in reality entirely maybe I don't know totally either way she started blogging about it during this period of time and so after a year of her blogging about it and you're talking to the doctor Oh yeah the doctor had her referred to pissed to a psychological therapist who diagnosed her as having body morphing disorder and well uh-huh I honestly think that almost just goes hand in hand with plastic surgery sure it's odd because it's so culturally acceptable that it's like man I almost feel like a low level body morpheus is almost just like what the coulter buddy has giving you but like yeah I mean that's plastic surgery is I don't like my body I have to change it which is fine not crazy that they said she has body just more of a disorder but it is crazy that she was like no I don't stop going to therapy use it as a thing of being like show they're crazy especially what this case seems like they're using it thing is that that Lucille literally was like I do not have that and stop going to the therapist yeah so like it's one of the tests right what do you mean was one of the test to see if she has like mental illness basically like this they were literally sending her to therapy is to get therapy I think that was okay as far yeah I'm yeah I don't know like I would think one of the tests for say this lawsuit would be like lawsuit yet okay no no this is.

"Lucille, both of them. Just recently opened. If left you got a location, right. You've got a location. So you've got them covered. So let's talk this week. A lot of different subjects, but one of the shoes that comes with untreated hearing loss. What's what's the problem? What's the news about that? There's a lot of information coming out about how the brain functions. With if the brain can't hear and so with untreated hearing loss that if you can't store the information that you're going to have problems remembering so often patients who have a lot of memory issues. If you see in Rajasthan might actually say to check your hearing see how you doing there along with a lot of other testing, but we know it can affect memory, cognition. So we know if you can't hear you're not gonna think twice about it in the store that information correctly. There's a link with oppression and lots of research coming out with untreated hearing loss dementia. Can lead the high blood pressure higher risk of falls untreated, hearing loss. So we know that untreated hearing loss. Not only does it not help us communicate with our family and friends that can lead to a lot of shoes. Well, but we know it can lead to long term brain changes when you that loftier less. I gotta get in there. Get my year actually think about if you can't hear you're not gonna function well, and you're not going to be active in your world. So that means that you can lead the Prussian become a reclusive. You. Don't wanna go the restaurants, while your friends and family are going because you can't hear in that environment, and that's hard. So people come in hearing check, maybe some of them don't necessarily need here. Hearing a lot from patience. I mean, we're pretty honest. If you're hearing is fairly normal for the speech range will say, you know, let's talk about some communication strategies other things you can try sometimes over the counter devices can be really helpful for certain patients. But if you are hearing candidate, and we will definitely look fear. Insurance. If there's a benefit go through where you struggle go through what devices would be best for you. What they look like different features that would be helpful. So we really narrow down because there's a huge list of hearing technology, and what will work we offer. Hearing aids started a few hundred dollars all the way up to a few thousand and we do that as a range because not everyone needs top of the line technology, but some people do and some people want that because that's just their needs. And other people just wanna hear their family and friends, and that's your needs. And so we have a device for that clarity versus hearing. I mean, you want both both sides tell and we'd to work with all hearing aid manufacturers, which is really nice. So if something doesn't work for you there. We can always find something that does.
