"Now your reflexive answer, the reflexive answer would be the Lakers because Anthony Davis is there. That's true. He's the second best player besides LeBron. On either one of these teams. But you go over and look at Cleveland. And what do they do right now? They are top 5 in the NBA defensively. They've got baby Anthony Davis, and Evan mobley there. You've got Darius Garland who has become in my opinion, at least a candidate for all star, if not all star himself this season. Jared Allen and mobley played well together in that front court. Got some interesting Kevin Love is still there and I gotta believe LeBron will be able to extract even more out of Kevin Love if you were around. It got me thinking like, well, the Lakers of the Lakers and his AD and there's some big names and all the Hall of Famers and all that stuff, but I don't know, man, if I'm LeBron and I could just blindly choose one or the other, I might take Cleveland for what they have going for right now. My crazy man. This question's brutal. It's brutal because it's true. The calves are actually better positioned for the next 5 years. And beyond probably the wildest that, like I know they've stunk it up the last couple of years. All right, but look, yeah. And listen, I'm not about to start defending anything that the Lakers have done personnel wise, especially this past off season. But I mean, to an extent, this is the way it's supposed to go, right? The Lakers are a team that recently won the championship and they're drafting low and they have LeBron and Anthony Davis, and so you're gonna be capped out and you're drafting low if you're drafting at all if you haven't traded away picks. Whereas the calves because LeBron left got high picks and a couple of them have worked out. Garland and Moby in particular and they made an opportunistic trade to pick up Jared Allen, which was really smart deal by them. I thought the Rubio deal was a really smart deal by them. I mean, like that, it's funny because I don't remember if you and I talked about this or if it was me, it was when I was on Cleveland radio like last week in the not so distant past, there was talk about whether or not that front office was going to be fired with clear it out again, fire Kobe Altman and his crew because they were under fire for where the cabs were over the last couple of years in the wake of LeBron's departure and the Kevin Love extension that has been such a albatross for them and everything else. But and Colin sit on Sexton's kind of polarizing because like he's up for that contract extension and such a Garland work fitting well and a core has been so like but Garland Garland can play like Garland. I've watched a couple of his games this season. He's a really good player mobley is like he is what AD was. Like he is legit, maybe even better in some ways, especially when it comes to contesting three point shots. Like he's everywhere, all that. You put a little bit more muscle on him. The next few years, he's gonna be dynamite. He's gonna be really dangerous. And if you have to trade Jared Allen to move mobile to 5, it's a pretty manageable contract in today's NBA..

"Somebody said James Dennis, yeah. We talked about this for a while. We talked about it all off season. James that is was he was doing the equivalent of like holding up a neon sign, do it jumping jacks. Whatever he was doing, everything he could to get the Lakers to notice him, going around Twitter, liking every post that said James henness, please sign with the Lakers. And still didn't happen. Didn't happen, but they could definitely use somebody with that kind of size. Monumentality from YouTube and missed the game, but saw the highlights seems free throw at the first half and lucky shots were the reason we lost. One in a million doesn't happen this time. Stay up Lakers nation. Yeah, I mean, look, it's the kind of thing where the clippers, if they shot, what did they end up shooting from three on the night? 46% from three. So let's say the clipper shoot a normal percentage from three. Meaning, you know, Marcus Morris doesn't bank in a three Luke canard doesn't go Berserk and they shoot 38% from three. Or is this game look like? It's a Lakers win. As is, it's a Lakers win if they just shoot a normal percentage from three. Now, part of that is, again, Vogel's defense, doubling Paul George giving up open looks from three. Part of that is on the Lakers. Part of it is also the clippers are shot ridiculously well this game. Sometimes people like to dumb it down and say it's a maker mislead. And again, that's an oversimplification. But sometimes it's kind of true where even if you play well defensively, that just kind of happens. There was one play, in fact, and I can't remember exactly how it all went down, but I remember that as the play went down, I was saying yes, yes, yes, the Lakers defensively did everything they needed to do, made the right rotations, got the stop, they gave Anthony Davis even blocked the shot and it bounced to a clipper and then they scored. Did everything they were supposed to do and it just took the wrong bounce and the clipper scored. Sometimes that happens. That's that sports. And I'm not saying that the Lakers did everything right tonight because he certainly didn't. But even when they did, do the right things, there were occasions where the clippers just made a difficult shot and then you just kind of say, okay,.

"Think there are people who would very much like LeBron and be like, he stinks. We need a new coach. All right, I see enough of that all over social media, especially in your mentions. Absolutely regular basis. I also think right ET kind of played it down the middle. I mean, he's a smart guy. He's never going to say all that much is he put it on the players too, which is also true. Absolutely reality is you probably did need it. But yeah, I'm very interested to see what happens with the Lakers just sort of a whole bunch of reasons. Just because we've said it over and over and over again, there's no easy trade here. There's no easy moves to make. So bring in help. And then there's the saying goes and it's true forever is you can't fire all the players. So you're usually fire the coach. So I continue to maintain if we get to Christmas and there's still 500 ish, maybe there is a change. That's made. If for no other reason, hey, let's try to shake this up and give ourselves some life going into the calendar year and into the stretch around the season. Yeah, it's really the one thing you can do is to get rid of the coach or the easiest move to make is to change out the coach and then see see if that works and if not. It's like when you're doing home repair, right? And you've got you've got your cheap option to fix something and then you've got your really expensive option. Where you're gonna try the cheap option first and if it works great, you're golden. And then if it doesn't work, then you're probably gonna go to the more expensive option. And I wish I had not being much of handyman. I don't have a great example to give you at the top of my head. But that's kind of the scenario the Lakers are in, where they can try to do something that would be fairly cost effective in terms of just changing out the coach. Or if that doesn't work, then you start to take more drastic measures. But we'll see where things go from here. You have to watch HGTV shows. Sometimes, do you watch some of those? You ever watched the ones where they're like, you can do this. Holy cow. Oh, this room and it's way less than what it actually is. But it's like, yeah, if you're a trained like contractor that can do the electrical and the plumbing and all that stuff yourself. And also donate it because you're on the TV show. Exactly. If you have all the tools already available, it's like, yeah, no, yes, I agree. I can go to Home Depot and buy all the same materials for the amount of money you're telling me..

"Kazarian, joined this morning by Tyler folger. How are you, my man? Doing well this morning. It had a good weekend in the NFL and a decent fantasy night on in the NBA last night. So open to keep it rolling here on a pretty like Tuesday. Unique and bizarre the Monday Night Football game. I enjoyed it just because it's an unusual circumstance, but the Patriots get there. They now are the top seed in the AFC or markable run. I broke down the MVP in the Super Bowl futures that I posted on the ESPN dot com, such an interesting windy road that this AFC in particular has been. But let's start in the NBA marquee matchup, you know, it's called the best rivalry in NBA history just given that they're finals meetings in the top two winningest franchises, the Lakers host the Celtics, obviously LA has not been what many expected this year although we've talked about it. I did not expect much from the Lakers. I am not surprised by at least their ATS performance. But Lakers are two and a half point home favorites. I basically refused to bet the Lakers aside from a couple of times last week at the kings I bet him, but I have to take Boston to the points. I just don't think this Lakers team fits. I don't trust them all together and yes, they're obviously much better to LeBron. They have capabilities of winning and covering. I just can't rely on them. They're just way too inconsistent. Yeah, I think anytime you have a Laker team right now that is favored, you have to be a little bit wary. And even though the game is at Staples Center tonight, they're favored by two and a half. And I'm with you I'm on that Boston side. The Lakers are still waiting for a couple of key pieces. They added this off season and Trevor ariza and Kendrick nunn to adds the rotation and a riza should help them on the perimeter defensively and none could give them a little more stability when Russell Westbrook is being crazy at the point guard spot. But I'm on the Celtics here, not only the Lakers have the worst ATS record in the NBA, the Celtics.

"But doya, it's a tough pill to swallow. But there are certain rules and regulations that are in place in Major League Soccer and across all sports that determine what can happen and what can happen for a game to be suspended for a game to be rescheduled. These are rules for everybody. Not just the Philadelphia union. It didn't come to implement those rules. It didn't come to it where they had to reschedule it. So I don't see why one team would get punished over another. I understand how hard done the Philly fans could feel hard done. Jim Curtin can feel. But this happens in all sports. We saw it in the Montage. Taylor was talking about it happening in NHL. We've seen it happen in baseball. We've seen it happen. And said, ah, you know, it's soccer. So it happens. I feel bad for them, but it is what it is in a pandemic. It sounds like the league didn't really even consider moving the game. As soon as Philadelphia kind of reported the situation that was going on, the response from the league was no plans to postpone right from jump. So they were very clear about it. I wonder her and your big NBA fan out there with the Lakers. There's kind of an asterisk over there over there bubble title, right? Does this maybe from a New York City perspective? No, okay. Not in LA. Is there an asterisk here for what New York City has done based on the team they faced in Philadelphia? I wouldn't say an asterisk, but there's been a dark cloud over New York City FC for quite some time. Oh, it's a baseball field. That's why that's why they get so much out of their field. That's why I get so much out of their play at home. Oh, this and that. Listen, they went on the road and beat New England. They went on the road and beat Philly. A very good Philly club. I don't care who was planned I was still a very good Philadelphia union team without their leading goals score. Say what you will. There are no asterisks in sports. People are only going to remember the winners. Unfortunately for Philly, very few when this is all said and done if you if the New York City FC team lift the trophy, you're gonna remember what had happened this day when this story is told later on or decades from now. All right, well, there's always something to pick out from the postgame press conference. Let's listen into what Jim Curtin have to say after the match. No, it's not listening. We've got it here for you. This is what he had to say, quote, I'm getting angry because I keep hearing them cheering over here. We're close to the New York City oil money locker room. It's just so hard. It hurts, man..

I think morally for anything else I think about right and wrong. I couldn't root for the Lakers with LeBron James on the team. I just couldn't. So I'd like to and I feel bad for Laker fans. "So for a rep to see if coming from ADM is being like, oh, this is way more serious. Like, hey, you need to relax. And so I think, you know, from a referee standpoint, it's that difference of what kind of player am I dealing with normally? So, you know, if I'm a player that normally picks up technicals and some of the stuff I say. Because referees don't just referee a one game, and that's it for the rest of the season. They know this thing is pretty well. Yeah, they officiate multiple games throughout the season. So for those referees that clear that called the technical, I don't know who it was. But they're probably like, yeah, I'm not used to saying AD like this. He seems pretty upset and he's saying a lot of things I'm not accustomed to hearing. So I'm going to call him for a tech. But again, if it's a DeMarcus cousins type, draymond green, one of those kinds of players is known for getting technical files. They get away with a little bit more because they say a lot worse things. Is it fair? Absolutely not. That's not very consistent. The leak should crack down on that. I think that's another thing they should look at. Because technical files are kind of arbitrary. They think about it. Depends on that. It's how they interpret something ahead of that. And how long has that player been barking at me throughout the game? What have they been saying, et cetera? There's not a lot of set criteria for it. It's just, you know, if you complain too much and it's two, and it's like too foul or too too much, then yeah, you call them for it. But it's kind of an inconsistency in the rule book, but basically what I'm trying to say is that I don't think that it was fair for Anthony Davis to get tossed, especially because it was a psychic technical vow. And it's a superstar. They are very well aware that the person they're tossing out. Well, that's my thing. It's not good for the NBA to see their star players get thrown out like that, especially when it's a call that most people would probably argue is not the right one to make in that moment. But, you know, it happened and it wasn't good. And I think it killed literally any chance of the Lakers coming back. Not to say that there was much of it at that point in the game, because it was toward the end of the third quarter and they were already down by 20 big picture. But I just hope it helped Anthony Davis. It gives him some load management. Yeah. We were joking our Lakers nation group chat, and I didn't want to jinx it at the time, but we were joking about we need a days without incident with Anthony Davis. Oh, yeah. And that's more of a reference to like him falling, getting nicked up, et cetera, he's been okay in the past two games. Yeah. It's been two days. Yep. That's true. You were joking that we would just need a zero. Yeah. We were joking, we would just need a zero, but it's been two days. So so far, so good. And, you know, him getting thrown out means that he didn't have to play a meeting with fourth quarter where he could have got hurt. Well, so that's the upside. The glass is half full. All right. I think we can really call it a night at that. Yeah, I think we're sure. Are you sure? Appreciate everybody coming in and joining us. "They just need to go on like a three or four heaven forbid a 5 game winning streak where I'd have some quality wins. Sprinkled it in there. And I think that way you'll start to see the confidence back. Because I think that's another thing too. The Lake is we haven't really talked about too much. There doesn't seem to be a lot of confidence in the team right now as a group. And I think that's just coming from a place of when we get down like who's really going to step up. We're not really too sure yet. We don't really know how we want to play yet either, especially with LeBron James off the floor. I think those are all factors that we need to consider here. But again, for the alms time now, if the Lakers are healthy and they've actually had time to practice and get to know each other better on the court. I think you'll start to see them playing a lot better. I mean, of course, they're still going to have losses here and there. But I don't think the losses will be this egregious. At least I hope not. Jesse Taylor said, you guys helped me through a lot. Thanks for everything while you're welcome. Thank you for the super chat. We appreciate it. You're welcome. And this is an opportunity look at. I don't take the stuff you guys say in the chat to personally or anything like that. I know a lot of I know a lot of it is people coming in inventing and hopefully by the end of the night, we all feel a little bit better. I gets a vent a little bit, Matt, the optimist, even gets to vent. So his optimism meter gets to refill just a bit. So this is if you guys don't know. This show first started. The first year we did this was when the Lakers had Lonzo and BI and all those guys. Like back then, when the Lakers were getting just annihilated. And it started off as a way to kind of vent after games and really just let loose a little bit and commiserate and it was a rough season and they lost a lot of games. And so that gave us a lot of opportunity to do just that. As the years have gone by, obviously they've gotten better. We've spent more time celebrating wins and things like that. But this still holds that purpose as well. It gives everybody an opportunity to kind of vent a little bit after a tough loss and get out some of their frustration and then hopefully feel a little bit better. By the end of the whole thing. So that's definitely part of this here too..

"I've got a whole lot of people. I think the answer might be right here that are saying oh we've got people master lock Vogel, but I've got a lot of people that are saying master lock, the entire team, and somebody said here it is, this is probably the way to go with it or somebody said master lock the Los Angeles Lakers. Somebody said master lock the whole team and the coaching staff. Yeah, I really think that's what we're at on this one. The biggest master lock ever. Because that's what happens when you score 12 points in the third quarter and you give up 40. It's really the type of game where the blame goes to everybody. Goes to everybody. It's the entire team, it's the coaching staff. It's everybody. Horse shooting night? Yeah. Sometimes you're going to have bad shooting nights. But that doesn't mean that you should give up 40 points on the other end when you're shooting that badly, right? It's not like you can just, oh, we're starting to lose and you sulk. And we saw that a little bit. We saw that a little bit. We saw the effort Wayne. Can't do that. Can't do that in the NBA, even against a bad team. These are pros. These are professional basketball players. Austin Reeves said this the other day. Paraphrasing but said, look, these are these are professional players. These this is the pros. You can't get away with that kind of stuff. You can't. So, I think the master lot goes to everybody. Goes to the entire team. And I bet the team would say the same thing. I bet they would say they all deserve it in this one. This is a team effort and we'll see if they can bounce back. Next game against the spurs. We'll see because we're going to see, are they upset? And that's one of the things that that's been missing. After the losses to OKC, I was disappointed that they didn't come out angry. They weren't upset. It didn't seem like it bothered them. They didn't have that fire in the next performances. We didn't see it in game two against OKC. I thought for sure, okay, they're gonna come out here upset that they lost the previous game to this bad team, OKC, and they're gonna come out firing and they're just gonna stomp them. And we didn't see it. We didn't see an angry Laker team. They were angry after the loss to the blazers and we saw that a little bit, but now I want to know how they're going to respond to this. We should, what we should see in the next game is a fired up Lakers team. A Lakers team that's upset about what just happened and they're looking to get things back on track. We're seeing it. We see a team that plays with passion. I'm not confident that is what we're going to see because we should have seen it a few times earlier in the season and we didn't. But that's what we should see on Sunday. Is a team that's very angry about what went down tonight and they're going to do something about it on Sunday. All right, let's do one more. Let's do one more..

"lakers" Discussed on Lakers Nation Podcast

"Was a clippers fan came in here. What are the other 11 clippers fans doing right now? They must be missing you. Some people said, some of them couldn't play with the pressure of being a Laker. Yeah. Yeah, that can happen. That could happen where sometimes the bright lights of LA can be a bit too much. That does happen. That's the thing. Kobe talked about that. Being a Laker isn't for everybody. It's not. And so you do see guys that when the pressure is off of them, they go somewhere else. They thrive. And I'm not saying that these guys were bad Lakers or anything, but sometimes having just there's a little bit more of a freeing sense when you're able to play somewhere else where the microscope isn't quite on you, the way it is. In LA. Okay, this is a good comment here that I think gets into my big concern here with the Lakers. For a veteran team, we sure know how to be undisciplined, get taxed backcourt violations and sloppy turnovers. That I know a lot of people are upset with Westbrook upset with Vogel upset at a lot of things. My biggest concern with the team right now is that we're seeing them make non veteran mistakes or mistakes that you would not expect a veteran team to make. And we've seen a number of guys do it. Carmelo Anthony with the 5 second violation. Russell Westbrook with turnovers. OKC looking like the poised and steady veteran team down the stretch in two games against the Lakers while the Lakers made a mistake after mistake after mistake. Some of this is teams having just good nights against the Lakers. Some of this is, hey, everybody gets up to play the Lakers. Everybody knows this is going to be the most eyeballs they're going to see. Throughout the entire season, they know like the wolves. They're looking at this game thinking, man, how many people are watching this game because we're playing the Lakers. So you're going to get everybody's best shot. Part of it is that. But part of it is also the Lakers shooting themselves in the foot. And for a team that's this veteran heavy, you wouldn't expect that. You expect chemistry issues. You expect there to be some speed bumps you expect them to have some growing pains and things like that because they only brought back three players from last season. It's going to take time for them to gel. So you can expect those things. But making mistakes that veterans don't make or don't tend to make? That's a little bit of a concern. When we're seeing some sloppy stuff, I wish I had a better word for it, but just dumb plays. Plays that a young player would make and you would say, oh, that's just a young guy making a young guy mistake. But these are veteran players that we've seen do some of that stuff. That's probably my biggest concern with the team right now. Beyond, you know, Westbrook, is he a great fit beyond some of the other stuff. It's not really looking like veterans..

"Lords of the sky, Trevor, can we put my girlfriend in the master lock? She started to watch the second half with me, and that's when everything fell to pieces. So it's her fault because she started watching the game when the second half started. That's who we're going to blame this whole thing on. And I got to say and learn to this guy. Isn't that if you saw this going down? Isn't that on you partially? If you saw what was happening, shouldn't you have just turned the TV off or something, if that was really the problem here that she started watching the game? Come on, man. Take one for the team there. Bundy said, Trevor, what's with the repeated third repeated failures in the third quarter and the reliance on jump shots so early in the possession. That's what gets me. That's where effort I think becomes a problem and that's where I say there's no excuse. Yes, look, fatigue is a factor and all of that. But when the jump shots aren't going down, what do you need to do? Start going to the basket. Start manufacturing some shot attempts at the free throw line draw some valves. Things of that nature. Now the wolves, they responded, they saw that the Lakers weren't hitting their shots, and they just compacted their defense even further. They just completely sucked into the paint. So that's a factor that we have to. Do we have to add in here? But the bottom line is that the Lakers have this bad habit where they try to shoot themselves out of shooting slumps by continuing to cast away from outside and those shots just never started following. It wasn't like they made water the damn burst next thing. You know, they made 8 of their next ten or something like that. They just never got on track and they never adjusted and started really going to the basket in the third quarter. And we've seen them do that in the past as well, where they fall in love with a jump shot and it comes back to bite them. And here's the thing. We tend to look at offense and defense as two separate entities as though you defend one way and your offense is something completely different. And that's not the case. They are as connected as can be, and you see that in what happened with the wolves. Yeah, the wolves were hitting their shots. They were hitting some shots they probably wouldn't normally, but they were hitting their shots. But why were they getting so many good looks? Part of that was just poor defense by the Lakers, but part of it was also because the Lakers were missing on their end and they're missing on these long jumpers and that's leading to transition baskets for the wolves. Not everything was a fast break, but how many times did we see the Lakers cross matched, where because they're in emergency defending situations, you wind up with a random player defending say Karl Anthony towns, you end up with a small defending him or something like that..

"For everything. Lakers? Lakers get the win in overtime against the hornets, but my goodness. I have a feeling not many Lakers fans are coming out of that game feeling good about where the teams at right now that we're so positive moments for sure. But they certainly made a mess at the end, but do wind up surviving and over time. That's the important part, I guess, right? First and foremost, they got the win. And this team badly needed the victory. So they get that. But we've got a lot else, so we're going to dive into tonight. Matt, the optimist Peralta joining me. How are you doing Matt? I'm holding on by a thread Trevor. I'm glad I have a lot of showtime lager on me because that game was rough. That was. That was. And that's coming from the optimist, too, everybody. That tells you what this game put us through at one point. Matt, I was thinking, here it is. This is it. This is the game where the Lakers just put a team away and we get a nice cruise to a victory and everybody will be happy afterwards and we'll get to talk about how they finally showed effort and they had the energy and they played like they wanted to win and everything worked out. And then no. And then we didn't get that at all and they wind up going to overtime and kind of made a mess of things. To finish there, so we're going to talk about all that we're going to break down exactly what happened why it happened. Obviously getting the wins the important part. If you're coming in from YouTube from Facebook from Twitter, welcome that we're going to take your questions and comments. I am curious to see how everybody else is feeling out there right now in this moment. We were a little bit stressed. I think we could say that. "Don't get me wrong, but if you want to look at the glass half full here, the Lakers didn't give a 26 point lead up this time. That is not glasses have full at all. I know, but Trevor, come on, man. All right, let's you know what, let's do let's get into one thing. That's a positive, especially to deal with the game like this. If you guys haven't heard yet Lakers nations releasing showtime logger that's coming up this Saturday 6 o'clock we're releasing it too specific locations in the Los Angeles area. We're going to be at LA draft in Santa Monica again starting at 6 p.m.. That's when it's going to be released. And we'll be at Indy brewery in Los Angeles so you can join us at either location, Matt's going to be at one with Ron gutterman myself and Chris masters will be at another one and you guys can come hang out with us. We will stick around, watch the Lakers take on the Portland trailblazers there and we of course will be debuting showtime lager. In fact, I do happen to have a little commercial for it right here. So check it out. All right. And once again, we're going to have two locations because there was a lot of demand so we're actually doing two locations for this. Again, one is indie brewery in Los Angeles, the other one. We're going to be out in Santa Monica at LA draft and they both start 6 o'clock. That's when it officially releases and then the Lakers take on the Portland trailblazers at 7 30 going to be a lot of fun. This night would have been a little bit easier to deal with. If we had some showtime logger. Yes, absolutely. And I have a feeling that because let's back up a little bit here. A little bit having a little bit of a rough shooting stretch to start the season here. But he's played the Lakers. So that's obviously the best medicine. So I'm going to need quite a few showtime loggers to get through that probably..

"Dot com live postgame show the Lakers did pick up the win over the rockets a close one. They almost lost at the buzzer. Joining me tonight is Matt the optimist Peralta. Matt, how are you doing, man? How stressful was that? Was that game? I am never going to be able to watch a Lakers game this season in peace, Trevor. This one was way too close for comfort, as evidenced by the last couple of minutes. Of course, the wind is nice, but it's one of those wins that doesn't feel too great. It shouldn't have gone disclosed and to be honest, the Lakers should have even been in this position to begin with. But, you know, the Lakers move to 5 and three, which is I believe good for third, now in the Western Conference and this early part of the season. So that's good. We're now 10% of the season away. So all things considered, things could be worse, but again, it's just one of those things where you wish the Lakers played better and didn't have to tried this hard toward. I think the frustrating part for me was it felt like against the calves and then again against the rockets, the Lakers had taken some steps forward, right? Like the last game against the rockets, there was never much of a doubt about who was going to win that game..

"That I would say off the bat is my biggest worry. Yeah, see, when I look at this team and I caution this a bunch during the off season, I said, look, right now, you look at the team and we tend to, as fans, right? We tend to think everything is going to work out perfectly. And every fan base does this. This is not unique to the Lakers. Everybody looks at it and they say, oh my gosh, what a great signing this guy is gonna be phenomenal. This guy's gonna be great. Wow, they signed all these great players. It doesn't always work out that way. Think about the stretch that Wesley Matthews had last year where he wasn't even playable for a decent chunk of the season because he was that bad. And you wouldn't have expected that during the off season, we talked about him being such this big addition for the Lakers. And you couldn't even put him on the floor. I do wonder about that defensively. For example, Wayne Ellington. Is he playable? In the preseason that answer was no. He wasn't hitting threes at a high enough rate now it's a tiny sample size, wasn't hitting threes at a time at a high enough rate to make up for getting burned constantly on the defensive end of the floor and Malik monk. I think he was. But I think the Lakers as much as we talk about their depth, they may be in a situation where, in the bench unit, you can play Malik monk or you can play Wayne Ellington if you play both of them, your defense is toast. And that's something that's got to be a concern for a defense first head coach like Frank Vogel that he's got a lot of guys that are good shooters from outside. He's got some guys that are good defenders, but most of the time those aren't the same player. You've got a guy who can shoot, but not defend you guys who can defend but not shoot. And so that's going to be a struggle, particularly when we look at historically, the Lakers path to success if we look at the 2019 2020 title team has been to find guys who do both, right? Danny Green, kentavious called the Pope, Avery Bradley to a lesser degree at that time. These are all guys that can play on both sides of the basketball and I don't know if they've got enough of those guys this year. Again, I think they've got enough to get to the final. So I'm not saying they're bad. But that's a concern to watch out for for this team. Yeah. And so I think Frank Vogel not only is he can have his work cut out for him in terms of getting together a good defensive team, building everyone up to be good defenders. He's also going to have his work cut out for him and figuring out lineup combinations that don't sacrifice either side of the floor. So like you said, you probably will never see Malik monk playing alongside Wayne Ellington this season because if you play both of them, you're not going to stop anyone. The same can be said of on the flip side..

"We're going to see a Lakers starting lineup featuring AD at the 5 now. They haven't gone through training camps, so they just put in that little disclaimer here. They have not gone through training camp yet. So it's possible they get out of the floor and ad center just isn't clicking isn't working right until the Lakers back off of that. Look, opinions can change. But for right now, it appears the plan is for Anthony Davis to primarily be the Lakers center, which pushes Dwight Howard and Deandre Jordan into a backup role. We thought it might be one or the other that Anthony Davis would be at the four more often, but it sounds like AD will indeed be at the 5. And that means that the lineup that we heard from Bill oram yesterday as what's kind of expected to be the starting lineup heading into camp, again, things can change, but right now, the expectation is that the Lakers starting 5 will be Russell Westbrook, Wayne Ellington at the two and I do want to spend some time talking about that as well. Trevor ariza at the three LeBron at the four AD at the 5 with Taylor Horton Tucker being the one guy it seems who could break that up and push his way into the starting lineup, obviously it would be either for ariza or Ellington, he would be taking one of those spots if THT is able to break into the starting 5 and don't forget THT did get paid this off season. He is the fourth highest paid player on the Lakers show. Makes sense that he would be the guy that could potentially break into the starting 5. So Anthony Davis at the 5. You know, this is, I think the best Lakers line up with the one, I don't know word of caution here. The one thing that's holding us back from just fist pumping and celebrating because we know in general, in general, the Lakers have been better with 80 at the 5, but can he fold up to an entire season doing it? He talked about getting back into the weight room and how physically felt ready. That's great. But can he really hold up an entire season and be 100% come playoff time if he's logging most of his minutes, et cetera and that's been the reason why he hasn't played at the 5 through the majority of his career and at least the last few seasons with the Lakers. They've been trying to play him more at power forward. That's been his preference to play center in the playoffs to not to log center minutes during the regular season. But we've talked about this a little bit. There's a lot of reasons why 80 at the 5 makes sense. And it's not just for Anthony Davis himself. I do think you get the best version of AD at the 5, but you also are going to get with the floor spacing that's going to be provided. You're going to get the best version of Russell Westbrook as well. And I think that's something that is important. Remember the Houston Rockets. They went small in order to accommodate Russell Westbrook. He was impossible to keep out of the paint when there's not a big sitting there at the rim waiting for him with AD space in the floor..

"But sometimes that that really is what it is, you know Sunshine it is it is and people hate it, you know, but it's like look a lot a lot of it comes down to sometimes it is just to make or misleading and sometimes you know, I used to say you could do the worst offense possible. You could take the worst possible shot. But if it goes in it's a great play. Yeah, and you know, you could play the best defense in the world and and force them in a difficult shot, but sometimes they're still going to make it. Yeah. I mean there's we see after all the games. We see the Lakers fans, you know, maybe mad at Danny Green because he shot one for 5 from 3 and one of them rimmed in and out wage. And will say yeah, but if he makes that one if that one goes down, then he's a happy person shooter for the game and and we're all happy. You know, it's that's sometimes when it comes down to I mean the game five criticism that he got was such garbage, you know, it was you know, it was listed. It was a shot. He would normally make he missed it. You gotta move on from it. That's what happens, you know, and I think you know, he I think he responded to a better than the fans didn't I think you know, everybody needs to relax. They're a little and there's a lot of pressure in the everybody going like all your trash and all that. Everybody's gotta come down a bit man. Like these guys are Pros relax agreed agreed. Sometimes we get a little too into it. There was a lot of pressure in that moment, especially wearing the Mamba jerseys and the winning for Kobe and that's that's a brutal spots. Unfortunately for him. They wanted him six. And so people I think eventually people kind of forget about about what happened there. But let's talk about the East real quick. You've got the Milwaukee Bucks. Are they just are they the top of the East again next song? Is in and we're already seeing them connected to a few players around the league a few guards that they could be be targeting. What are your thoughts on on the Milwaukee Bucks? Are they going to be a handful next season?.

"This is the moment we've been waiting for and it doesn't even feel real yet. I'm like I'm going to be watching, you know, this stuff all throughout the night who knows how much sleep all get you know what I mean? And I think most most of you know, Laker fans and Laker Nation will probably be the same way man. Like you almost you got a pinch yourself. It doesn't feel real. It's just been such a tough here and this is just so nice for us to have this, you know, at least we have this at the end of the day, you know, and they did it. They did it inspired by the Kobe Bryant man and It just it's beautiful. It really is. It's an incredible moment. It's been ten years the last six seasons the Lakers haven't been in the playoffs and it does look as though LeBron James. Look at this one. I believe he is getting the finals MVP right now, which I think I think that is the correct Choice Chris you agree. I think LeBron is deserving there. It is LeBron James Finals MVP or JD was tremendous it was close. But I think LeBron is deserving of this Finals MVP and I think now we can reopen that greatest of all-time discussion, but certainly deserving LeBron James Finals MVP tonight just to tell you his stats Lebron 13 of 20 shooting 28 points 14 boards tennis is triple-double and he brings a championship to the Los Angeles Lakers. She now has championships with three different franchises and look I also say this this puts an end. It's done. It's dead. There is no more LeBrons really a CAF a Cleveland Cavalier. There is no more LeBrons really young. Part of the Miami Heat. There's no more you LeBron is just as Hired Gun LeBron is a mercenary. LeBron is a Laker LeBron is part of Lakers nation. And he just brought home a championship to Los Angeles. Totally everything you said Travis. I mean LeBron James is talking right now about what it means to do. This is a Laker. And who are you know to anybody out there who still like about that Kobe vs. LeBron thing. It's over man. Like this guy like LeBron like you said, he's a lake and we need to accept it. We need to be it's an honor to have him come over and try to carry this franchise and then you know, I just I don't want to hear anymore LeBron hater in Los Angeles man. Like like we're lucky to have this guy and man. He's really just He hasn't done anything to ever disrespect Kobe man. All he's done his honor told me this season. Yeah, absolutely. He's done everything he can to live up to the the Legacy that Kobe Bryant creative and and he's been tremendous and obviously he'll bring a championship now to the Los Angeles Lakers by the way, guys, we are going to get into your questions and comments. "Things matter this team. Maybe you don't like maybe people are saying oh the Lakers are unlikeable because they because they're a threat and in that way. It's kind of a good thing, right? They hate tells you that they're doing something right if people around the league are saying they're not very likable that tells you that they don't want to lose this Lakers team. Think about how many people hated Kobe? Hated him. He did those Laker squads with Shaq and Kobe completely hated them wanted to see fail. So so badly. And yet they couldn't get they weren't able to put a stop to that Lakers run. That's what matters sometimes that hate tells you that you're doing something. Right? And I think that's what this little Narrative of. Oh this Lakers team is unlikable really comes down to the Lakers are doing something right but from a fan perspective. I look at this Lakers team and I think yes Celtics fans are going to hate them fans of other teams are going to hate them. They're going say, oh they're unlikable. But I look at this squad as somebody who watched the lungs odd ball Brandon Ingram Lakers, watch the whole rebuilding era watch teams. That didn't get along all that. Well watch teams that just didn't click on the court. They had personalities. That didn't mesh track coaches that didn't know how to get the best out of their players all the time. One thing after another front-office mistakes. This season for me for most Lakers fans has been a breath of fresh air because we finally seen that cohesion to me. This is felt like Lakers basketball for the first time in a long long time. So some people like Bill Simmons may see the Lakers as unlikeable. And that's okay. Maybe they don't like the Lakers but I think if you're looking at them objectively and again, I'm not objective. I'm I'm certainly biased here. But if you're looking at this team and you look at them as individuals and as a unit, I think there's a lot to admire about what they've accomplished this season and maybe it's going to lead them a championship and maybe it's not but regardless this team has accomplished some really amazing things this season and I think that's something that not enough people are really recognizing. Yes. They're good on the basketball court, but you look what they've done in terms of their chemistry their actions as human beings you look at their ability to come together as quickly as they did to stand up for each other to play for each other off of them rallied around Kentavious Caldwell-Pope when he couldn't make a lay-up in the first few games of the season and there they were there was this team propping him up supporting him. This has been a fun bunch to watch and I think there's a heck of a lot to like about this year's Los Angeles Lakers. All right guys, let me know what you think fired off in the comments down below and.

"Time, but I feel like even though though it's an entire season in L. I didn't completely erase that. I felt like the first game back after Kobe died. That's when that went away. That's when LeBron really being a cab or Lebron really being a Miami Heat was gone. LeBron is a Laker. The speech that he gave the Staple Center crowd that night to me that pushed LeBron into the family of Lakers Nation. Anybody who was holding out at that point now needed to see LeBron as one of our own people talk about Anthony Davis, you know, you surrendered all these young assets. He's not a guy that you drafted. Did they draft Shack? Did they draft Wilt Chamberlain? Did they offer Kareem? No. That's not historically the way Lakers have built teams. And maybe we were spoiled by Kobe all along. Right and we saw Kobe even though Kobe technically was traded for but we saw Kobe from an eighteen-year-old kid did grow up become a man become a father become an MVP become a champion. All of these things happened before our eyes. That's not the norm though. That's not the normal relationship between a fan base and a player and that's what makes Kobe Kobe. That's why nobody's ever going to replace them. LeBron was never brought in to replace him. Anthony Davis wasn't brought into her. Mom Ko B. Nobody's going to do that. And yet we still have some fans who look at LeBron as this Outsider. Look at Anthony Davis as an outsider because the Lakers had to trade for him know of anything. I think what they've had to go through this season from stopping due to covid-19. But this is a likable Squad people like The Underdogs was the likelihood that this Lakers team would come together and day one. They would have the chemistry that they showed that they would be able to work together as a unit that everybody would understand their role right from the get-go How likely was that to happen? I was in predicting and I didn't see anybody else who was who was thinking that the Lakers were going to be the number one seed in the Western Conference. Most people said it was going to take a lot it was going to take some building. There were going to be some bumps in the road some trials and tribulations in order to get where they are right now. Chemistry isn't something that just magically comes together when you put enough talented people on One Squad we've seen that we know it we've lived through that we lived through the Kobe Dwight Powell Steve Nash voelker's that happened. We know that sometimes all the talent of world doesn't matter if the chemistry is not there and yet this Laker Squad found a way to find chemistry right away home and I think that's impressive and then you look at the individual stories..
