What happens if you test positive for COVID-19 and can’t fly back to the US?
"About 50,000 flight attendants from 17 Airlines wants those airlines to share their individual. No fly list information right now. Those lists are kind of airline specific. Jay Ratliff, Aviation expert Joining us all the coca News Live. I'm good to have you back J Hey, pleasant. Good morning. So these no fly lists. Um what are the no fly list about? Do they involve masks or are they just generally people behaving badly in the skies? When the mask policy was put into place by airlines is is kind of a way to Yeah, Get some passengers to be a little bit more comfortable about flying at first, you may remember is optional If he had a medical condition you didn't have to worry about wearing a mask, but it seems like 78% of the aircraft had some sort of medical issue. Opted not to wear them. So that's when it became mandatory for anyone over two years of age to wear masks during the entire flight over your nose and your mouth. Some passengers did not want to do that, And as a result, they created either issues in the gate or onboard an aircraft. And those passengers had to be removed or once the plate was completed. Escorted off of the aircraft, and those passengers were put on the airlines No fly list, which is basically This is in place until the mass policy is listed. And then we will welcome you back. But until then, since you've proven that you can't abide by our mass policy, we're gonna ban you until The policy is no longer in place that the issue is if I act upon a Delta flight and cause a disturbance that gets to wherever we're going, they pulled me off the flight and say, Look, you're not gonna be arrested. But you didn't follow the airlines mass policies were banning you from Delta Airlines for the time being. Could say Okay, and then I just zip on down to United. Grab a flight on them, and I can fly anywhere. I want to go and the flight attendants are saying, Look, if J X up on Delta. The consequences shouldn't only be on Delta. It should be on all U. S carriers. You're basically giving this crazy guy can opportunities on 10 different airlines to act up inconveniencing perhaps 10 different flights that they're on, and flight attendants are just that the point now where every single day Mask police. There's no federal guidelines for mass policies yet, so it's all the airline policy and most people recognize it As such, so they really don't feel threatened by, you know, getting in trouble, so to speak. Because they know it's going to be something that only involves that airline. There's not gonna be fined or anything like that. However, last week, the Federal Aviation Administration came out said Look, if you cause an onboard disturbance with an airline You face a possible fine of up to $35,000. So now there's a little bit more of an incentive for somebody like Jay to not create a problem with the mask or anything else. So that I don't get in trouble with the FAA. All right, So let's move on to, you know, travel in the age of covert with airlines that went toe, you know, they were started by keeping people at least one seat apart now, not so much on now. There's an Air American Airlines initiative for a health passport. So how does that work exactly? American Airlines is the first airline to adopt this health passport. They're working with Vera fly. It's an app that can show whether or not you've been tested for the coronavirus. And it comes in handy because now that the CDC is saying as of the 26th of this month, if you fly internationally, you're coming back into the United States. You're gonna have to prove that you've had a negative covert test within three days. Of your date of travel, or you have to show documentation that you had the coroner virus you recovered, Okay? And the issue is how do you prove that? Well, this app is in place. Now that will make these these medical testing or records available quickly. So it is you fly. You can show the agents you have, and then you'll be able to board the plate back into the United States. Clusters. Other countries around the world that had that same sort of requirement for entry into their country. And this type of Anak would satisfy those countries. For the most part. Or they could see Okay, you've been tested. It was in three days. No positive tests, You know, come on into the country. You don't have quarantine for 14 days. Alright, And we're gonna see more airlines following suit of this now. The real interesting part is Are we going to see this domestically? Qantas Airlines has already said once the vaccine is out there passengers have been vaccinated will be allowed to fly on certain flights if you've not been vaccinated. They're not gonna let you fly. Oh, if you think you think we're having fun over, you know, mask situations. Wait. So that rules out And when you guys were kidding about Burbank earlier, laughing because they said, you guys may not be too far off. If this type of thing happens domestically, I don't think it will. But I learned a long time ago. And 30 years of doing my aviation reports. You never say never when it comes to the airline industry. Oh, boy, they were at left. Nurses die as US hospitals fail to contain Covid-19
"Nurses, across the country have been dying from covid nineteen due to their professions. Inherent dangers will discuss the strain. This has put on hospitals and the protections put in place to guard hospital staff at all levels with Christina Jewett senior correspondent for Kaiser Health. News thank you for coming on today. Thank you appreciate it in my conversations with various nurses in different capacities within the hospital system to a person female male cardiac care I see you every single one and I know this is anecdote Oh. But just for me, every single one is. Concerned about catching, Kovic Nineteen infecting relatives or? On the job is this fear nationwide from what you see far as I can tell it is coast-to-coast a problem I mean, I've been talking to nurses for months now and they have a number of concerned a lot of them have said they're not told who among their colleagues and patients has Koga a lot of hospitals are actually mixing. into sort of a general patient population and they're also being asked to reuse p. p. e., that six months ago they would have been written up or fired for reducing key in the way that they're required to right now. So there is like. When I talked to slow I know that there might be Hicfa concerns involved with not knowing which of someone's colleagues may have tested for covert nineteen but is there any way from where you sit where nurses are other medical professionals can be alerted if someone within their ward or someone on their floor might have tested positive. Contact tree thing I mean there's a nationwide push inside hospitals and health facilities also on the county health department level two alert people if they've been exposed and try to find out who's been in touch with so you're expect to go ahead and cost, but it's not you know you know form how it's being done on when and where it's being done. I've talked to nurses who had to really do their own leg words to find out you know sometimes they were told just sort of vaguely they were exposed to figure out what happened in which patient was it and how much contacting paycheck. So there's a wide range of consumer healthcare workers talking to. You made mention of. The and having to reuse it many times. Medical professionals have to reuse it. We're a good seven seven and a half months in this covid nineteen crisis here in America what policies or practices to your mind have been changed or improved to better protect nurses and other medical professionals. From what I've heard? Problems are improving a little bit. There are efforts to conserve PP and a lot of that involves disinfecting an ninety five respirator and I have heard concerns about that because there's a variety of ways that happened somewhat chemicals. Light and are sort of different benefits and drawbacks to those processes and I've talked to nurses who feel like they're sort of being experimented on in real time you. Try, this method and sort of see how it works and nurses who feel like they're gonNA stay healthy or not depending on processes. So the TV's attrition I think is getting better but I think the reuse uses still pretty widespread. When I began my conversation with you, we were talking more on a micro level in other words on a person to person level on a nurse to nurse level and their concerns on a macro level within the industry. Is there a shortage of just nursing staff or is it trending in that direction as it is more and more difficult to either find enough support staff or nurses to cover all the shifts given the increase in workload? Not Staffing companies have seen big UPTICKS and demand surges and sort of places and times when cases were really on the ride and I've also heard anecdotally that nurses are in some places leaving profession, and of course, they're dying you know as far as the national shortage I don't know if that's the case I haven't really heard that but I know there's Concern that there could be a second wave in the fall and that gives sort of hospitals and nursing homes all that more incentive to really sort of try to take care of their staff. He found the safe as they can't get him some rest. You talk about that second wave does this change fundamentally with the inclusion of the flu virus in this equation? Is a variable I assume we would have a larger need for hospital staff but does the flu present any particular challenge from where you sit you know the thing I've heard about the flu is that usually in the US at the time of the year through the Southern Hemisphere in the southern hemisphere from what I understand isn't seeing much through but I've heard. As far as the second wave in the follow the concerns that what colder climates everyone goes back indoors and sort of the concerned about the spread gets a lot more like cute when everyone sort of stuck together in a building versus out and about the in wide open air. So that's kind of what I've heard about the second wave but I'm probably not. The foremost expert on that topic?
The Diversity of Security Challenges in Higher Education
"Now. What is it like? Every year you have a new batch of of students coming on board and they all want to connect to your network I mean what's the? What's the reality of that situation from a security point of view It is a lot of prep-work over the summertime, a lot of you know repair and refine and and. You know replace things that aren't doing well, and then when you know we get about two weeks out from classes starting. which this year is September second. So we're kind of in that zone right now. That's where we're making sure that everything is working. In it in. Its, optimum. Capacity and capability. Following that it's you know let's continue planning for whatever is going to happen next you know we the spring term winter spring term in in January this past year and nobody anticipated. Kobe I I'm not. You know I'm sure that there was an -ticipant because the the fun part of that is we actually did a pandemic tabletop exercise in the division of Information Technology, which is the central a unit on campus. We do that path the fall of twenty and eighteen. So we hit already kind of work through some of the. You know the communications challenges and the organizational challenges so when it came time to do. The transition from online or from in person courses to online courses, we were able to do that in very short time and that included transitioning thirty seven hundred core courses. From in person delivery to online delivery so that really served you well, I and it was the preparation time and it was the understanding. Of what we would need to do and it was also, you know checking those channels you know. I've done some business continuity work in my in my pass and a business continuity plan to just never exercise it's not a plan. It's a bunch of on paper so So we were able to walk through and validate that and that's the kind of work we do during the school year. And we take our you know kind of slowdown period so. Beginning summer you know everybody takes a deep breath and then we exhaling get back to work you know Sometime during the summer I like to encourage my my team to have a little bit of time off. But when September goes in and the students arrive we, we try to work really hard to get him through and then we take it the winter holidays. What what kinds of things are you and your team defending against who? Who's WHO's coming at your network? You know it's the usual array of Fred actors You know think about the things that research is doing. You know we're we're doing. A lot of research in the area of Koga right now, and it's just. Be We have the capability. We have the expertise we have the researchers at want to do that. But we also have school medicine in public health. We also have a school of Nursing School of Pharmacy. So healthcare education is important in that has just a treasure trove highly valuable. Information in it. But we do engineering work, and some of that work is is patentable work. So that's probably attractive We do a lot of business influenced work. we have data science institute which is trying to figure out the the better ways to understand. You know the the magic acronyms of a I in L.. Artificial intelligence. Machine. Learning. And and that's that's attractive information not only that forty four, thousand students twenty three, thousand staff that's a treasure trove of marketable information. You know I always wonder you know someone in a situation like yours where certainly you're going to have some students and I'm thinking of Oh I don't know folks in computer science and other sorts of places who were going to look at you know the the campus system or the university system as you know their own personal playground there that. you know they're gonNA WANNA, test their own skills against yours. I mean I is that an annual thing and and how do you? How do you? How do you not be adversarial? How do you support You know the educational aspects of of those students while still keeping things up and running what's your approach to those sorts of things? Well. So I we we are establishing some really good partnerships with with the Academy with the the the professors and researchers that are interested in studying the cybersecurity arts and sciences. we've had a relationship with the information school. is They're they're part of the College of letters and Sciences and now they're part of what's been amalgam is as the the School of Computing. Data. And Information Studies so CDs. In in in doing that, I, mean, the partnership is if it's data and if it's doing things if it's you know working or arresting or or if it's needing to be analyzed, we have people that are very much interested and so I've had my my department be intentional about establishing those greater relationships we have you know researchers doing anything from identity access. Management Research to data analytics to cybersecurity metrics and then we have others on campus that are doing great work in high throughput. Computing Great Work in in you know engineering the the next greatest you know computer technologies. In other side trips we had We have a researcher that is working on, Thomas Vehicle. Research you know and there's an awful lot of cyber in there too so. Having those kind of relationships is the the real multiplier here, and this is not unusual by the way for university. This is nothing super special. We're doing it's just that You know there's a, there's a lot of cybersecurity programs out there where there you know NSA certified Center for Academic Excellence. Certified and we're GONNA. Get there eventually. I believe But right now we're just supporting the researchers in the courses are being taught. Sue I myself have been a guest lecturer in a one of the business school courses. It has an information security course as part of its core. That's been fun. I enjoy doing. I did a little bit of that as an adjunct University part of my coming here.

He wants to shut down our economy, closer schools and grind society to a halt. Sandy wants it done by a federal decree. This would lead to a cripple Li long, long lasting depression. Biden and Kamala Harris, his vice presidential running mate, say they'd like to see a face mask mandate for at least three months. Biden, saying it could save some 40,000 lives during that period. And Dr Conscious is not good. He said they had been averaging about 20,000 cases a day. And then various cities and states far started re opening, which led to the record breaking cases that we're seeing now, he said. We're still in the first wave. Isn't he even kind of went back and said, Well, he wouldn't even consider it away because it's not like we've gone back down to the baseline yet. It has just kind of gone up on the U. S. Did not get it curved back down to the baseline then it would be considered. You know, the first wave would be behind us. He also compared it Teo, the European Union and said, You know they've gotten I know what they're curve Looks like is an actual purport goes up and it goes back down to the baseline. Ours has not done that. Which is why, he says it's still the first go round of all of this. He does say that this is a serious situation that we need to address immediately and goes over the fundamental that he's been saying to do, you know, math wearing distancing. Washing your hands, avoiding crowds. If you do have to be in a small gathering, and he struck a small gathering just a very few people outdoors is better than indoors. Things like that were some of the things that he touched on during the interview. Boy, you know, they're just there seems to be quite a bit of concern about what future numbers they're going to look like here. Yeah, well, he rightfully so because if you look at the CDC Website right now, I mean, you get 2.9 million cases. Total deaths. 130,000 and you know we're seeing upticks in states. Across the U. S. And in Texas is obviously one that people are very concerned about. They're in California where you are. There's a lot of concern. Arizona, Florida I mean, you know, there's there's there's even been new states added to the quarantine list of you know, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Where, you know if you come up here, you gotta quarantine for 14 days before Before you can move about the move about the area, so to speak, So, yeah, There's a lot. There's a lot going on that are is is very worrisome right now, especially with the amount of hospital bed that people are, you know. Leading the Gates Foundation Fight Against Coronavirus
"We have a really exciting opportunity today to talk to someone. That's helping lead the charge against the crow virus. Mark Suzman is CEO of the bill and Melinda Gates Foundation who are putting a ton of resources behind looking for solutions right now and we're really grateful to have a few minutes of your time mark. Thank you for doing this. Great detroi- well. The Gates Foundation has a publication called the optimist which we think is exactly the kind of attitude that we need right now and we'll have time to talk about specifics of the virus in treatments soon but I in general terms at a high level. What's keeping optimistic right now? Well we do have publication called the optimistic with inter-regional you're listening to subscribe. It's a great publication that sort of sends out an US on a pretty regular basis actually comes from Bill and Melinda Gates who are like to call themselves impatient optimists we we decided not to call the publication. The impatient optimists and at times like this. It's sometimes challenging to to feel optimistic but on the real plus side one. We're seeing are really unprecedented progress in of the search for a vaccine that still going to be a wild but we're a pretty confident that they will be a successful vaccine you know unlike say with HIV where we struggle to find one up to more than thirty years. And it's going to be the foster. Sfaxien ever successfully developed in human history there already number of candidates in trials but we have a lot of scientists who look at that and feel pretty confidence and the challenge is going to be really about getting them through as quickly as possible getting them into distribution and manufacturing and trying to make sure that they are globally accessible. Because it's something the world's GonNa need so that probably the biggest one on the horizon. The second one is a cautious optimism. But it's also combined with a worry Which is so far. We haven't seen the kind of days in the developing world which we were very worried about probably off the levels we've seen in the US and Europe. We're working very hard and you. These places with very low and weak health resources to try and help with preparation still worries that there may be major outbreaks but again the steps that have been taken by these countries today despite their challenging circumstances have certainly a voted foul outcomes and that's being another bid relatively good news and I know that that global outlook is really important to the Gates Foundation. What are y'all doing to make sure that the work that you're doing is able to be used worldwide. Yes so that's something we do for like when we work extensively across the US obviously and we have carry lodge program. Which of being heavily disrupted and Writing educational opportunities for low income students and kids of Color in K twelve and post-second buck most by workers in global health and global development issues. And everything we do as informed by what he calls global access so we do a lot of research and development Some of that is in helpings like New Treatments. Or vaccines or things that are Diseases like malaria or tobacco. So I do think that disproportionately affect poor people and we have requirement whenever we make grunts that Any results Former global access. You know they need to be accessible and affordable globally and we support directly a number of organizations that help ensure that happens so the Global Fund to fight. Hiv Malaria Which was actually something where President Bush was the inaugural funded from the US and and was the counterpart to the pet. Far -Unding is a huge operation. That actually helps keep many millions of people on anti retrovirals but also that's bednets across the developing world to prevent Larrea to Berkey Laos's treatments. And what it does is it. Cools or sources including from the foundation many governments including the US which is the largest Funda. And then how? Purchase those at bulk because it is a crisis and then distribute them to the needy globally and we have the partnerships that do the same in areas like vaccines. So I know that scenario that we've worked together on before is in is in global health. We had Bill Melinda Gates recently at our form on leadership for them to talk about the work that they've done and Y'all done a lot of work with global epidemics previously like in global health. You've been very active. What did you learn from the worthy done previously? That's helping you today. So some of it is pretty simple stuff right. You need basic functional primary healthcare systems that that may sound and we're kind of used most people can excess at least minimal basic healthcare in the US effectively but You in very poor countries. That means often. There's barely a clinic with basic equipment or tools. But we need that. We make a lot of investments in trying to support those kind of experts if you have accessible primary care that's able to take early action than that helps prevent a whole lot of the health outcomes and then the car. Koga crisis where you're trying to Provide community engagement or involvement to help support challenges. Where you're often working in situations like crowded urban slums where it's very difficult to sort of isolate if you have symptoms we've seen countries like South Outta go for example which have extensive networks that have been set up to deal with HIV crisis actually being able to mobilize those network to help support Kobe or simply one of the talents we have. We are the largest. Funders globally the. Us is also very generous support of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative that unfortunately it had to be put on pause for why because we can't currently vaccinate children because it's the opposite of social distancing malaria polio vaccine. Excuse me drops that needs to be put in the mouth of a baby. That's held by their parents but we had big infrastructure that we've developed Without the partners over the years including Eunice and the World Health Organization Rotary that is very expert at surveillance and tracking and tracing Things which can now again be used in that Jacobin. So we've had a lot of those kinds of blessedness Which we wish. We didn't have to have them to help. But there certainly are helping with the current crisis
Who's on the front line?
"Who's on the front line of the corona virus politically? Who knows so? Let's take a look at the medical frontline. What is the front line by military definition? It is where the heaviest fighting takes place. The front line. In relation to the corona virus consists of fifteen thousand nursing homes consisting of one point seven million beds occupied by one point four million patients five thousand retirement communities and approximately fifty million seniors living in the United States. That's what makes up the front line back to the original question of who is on the front line. Although I can't right off the doctors in sheer numbers it is the nurse and the certified nursing assistant that will slow the onslaught of the Koran virus. We looked at the numbers of nursing homes. Retirement community says well as a total number of seniors which dance it about fifty million to do battle. There are two point. Eight six million registered nurses and one point five million certified nursing assistants and then of course we have thousands and thousands of doctors who the math and you end up with a combined total of nurses and CNA's at around five million treating potential fifty million victim so corona virus. And this is before it's come out. That younger people can be vulnerable. We're seeing moves generally considered to be those sixty five and older talk about overwhelmed. Worse case scenario that would be ten million patients per nurse. But let's put this into perspective the CDC estimates that up to thirty one million Americans have caught the flu this season. That is the regular flu season with two hundred. Ten thousand. Three hundred. Seventy thousand flu sufferers hospitalized because of the virus and again we're just talking when I say that we're just talking about the casual flu season. That happens every year so far. The new corona viruses lead to more than two hundred and twenty thousand illnesses and more than nine thousand three hundred deaths but that's worldwide. That's nothing compared to the flu. Also called the influenza in the US alone. The flu has cost an estimated thirty six million illnesses. Three hundred seventy thousand hospitalizations and twenty two thousand deaths. Now that's just our regular flu were used to and that was just this season. And that's what the Center for Disease Control Prevention said. The scientists have studied seasonal flu for decades so despite the danger of it we know a lot about the flu virus in what to expect each season in contrast very little is known about the new corona virus and the disease it causes dubbed. Koga nineteen. Because it's so new. This means Kobe. Nineteenth something of a wild card in terms of how far will spread and how many deaths will cause why because we have no vaccine for as of this. Podcast the nurse. Cnn Yes doctors holding their own on the front line however it has been reported by all three healthcare professionals doctors nurses and CNA's that they are under an ill-equipped Liking Dad's respirators and even swabs to do the tests not to mention a lack of personal protective gear. Indeed this one doctor said the current situation is like sending a highly trained soldier to the front line but not give him any bullets for his gun. How this battle will go only well-equipped doctors nurses and CNA's will turn the

"Thirty two to one zero five. Put up the clippers all three games was Iraqi was comeback tonight. Kevin durant? The same old clippers now, it's Murph and MAC on KNB are six eighty and streaming live at K N B R dot com. That's good. That's that's the first ever. Bob FitzGerald, snoop Dogg rejoin, but it's pretty darn good. The clippers were feeling a whole lot different Wednesday morning than their feeling Tuesday morning than their feeling Friday morning. And a man who knows that team will our next guest on the guest line the clippers beat writer for the Giovane Buha. We are happy to have him on the guest line Giovane. Welcome to the Murph and MAC show. Brian Murphy, Adam Copeland in for paulie, MAC and Bonnie, Jill laflin. How are you this morning Giovane morning? Doing. Well. We're good, man. We're good. So can you take us inside the clipper locker room after the game? And give us your read of how they were feeling after that that home beatdown last night. They're upset, you know, like half the house along out before leaving God there, which is kinda paused for the course of them what they use. I think they're they're they're temperamental. Play. That is kind of how they are as close. But I expected Landry Shamet the other hood Kogas practice said I think we oughta sleeping bear. And I saw that there last night and the clippers did not survive their tax. So Kevin Durant had something to prove came out dropped thirty eight locked indefensibly authenticity. It was as comfortable as I think they've looked all Siri and with the rolling like that, you know, the clippers have no chance, but really the rest of them yet. No chance. Yeah. Good say, you're you're right. I mean, that's pretty much sums it up and and to get a little bit deeper into that locker room. Pat Beverley is such an admirable player his journey the league and the way he's kind of just play so hard. But man, I don't wanna say invisible. But he certainly was not effective last night. And I was wanted you guys get a chance to talk to him and or. Your view given that you've watched him play. A lot of basketball of how the warriors did not succumb to his bulldog tactics last night. Yeah. So I I didn't I it's the playoffs because they have the, you know, press conference in one room, and then the open up the locker like. The coaches talk then locker room during the playoffs. They have cuss conference going on at the same blocker. Actually, you know, talking to Stephen doc while I guess Pat spoke really quickly. So I didn't get to talk to that. I don't think it was. I mean, he came back into locker rooms works out after so came back in. But yeah, I think the the warriors really you know, what what what they did. I felt better is the first two games was they were trying to get pot off of Katie. And I think that's really exploited it where they're just running a bunch of actions, which is defender onto Keiichi later fame it shake Zander. And once that guy was defending Katie they really had no shot at stopping him. And there was a few instances in which he did score over Pat. But I just felt like they did a good, you know, a better job of running stuff for Katie having him more, active income off more screens, and you know. Isolate him post them up against. Was able to be a little more effective. So I think the warriors really had a nice adjustment without clippers are gonna have to figure out what you know, how they're gonna respond. I might switch pot off of Katie goes Gallo. A little bit of bigger guy on him because died stuff for him. He kind of walked into thirty eight points. You could have had like fifty if the game or closer. So I just because the way they defended him I wanted to. I don't think they can be offended like that. That's pretty good. See how they adjust Giovane voice. Here's the clippers beat writer for the athletes. Adam Copeland sitting in for paulie, MAC kinda sticking on. The Pat Beverley note there was a report that came out yesterday before the game that the warriors had sent clips of Beverly garden. Kevin Durant holding pushing shoving to the NBA to be reviewed as far as you know, any of that given to the clippers or were they aware of this before the game on here about so I was not aware that there you go. It's not something change last night for sure Giovane, you wrote an interesting piece to that goes beyond this series. I mean, everybody expects the worst win the series game. Two is crazy. But you wrote the piece about katie's free agency and the clippers and everybody's thinking the Knicks the Knicks the Knicks. But give us your view of how you think the clippers see this playing out in how viable or how realistic they think they have a chance at making a run at Kevin Durant. Yeah. So I think that it's look. You know, the the free agent market right now in the realistic destinations of teams that have cap space and have an actual appeal today. I sit at the list, and that's not just has. I cover them. Like, I just think objectively they check all all the box would want the frigid if not close to them. And so you might have yucca Lakers, but they don't have the organizational because of this. Do and just kind of the -bility cookers of hot gloss years. And who knows? Leaving. Like the word of the better team. And I like a lot of these. But I don't think if you know, let's really care about the Lakers brand or like a c I don't really credible argument that the Lakers are situation right now. It doesn't just going on there. So that's all the Knicks. Pretty bad for the last twenty years, and they don't have that author. So if you're gonna fix which is going to like, you might still be like a thirty five forty even with Kevin Durant. So I don't that winning. That's interesting. I think that's actually more similar to the clippers clippers where you know, one more than had a better point the actual have flexibility move forward. So I think that the clippers are probably a little bit better suited that so looking at the star now that would require the. Who knows? It's quite letter throw. Play out. But it has like all these types both teams, and they might be interested in situations. If you're gonna leave also allied market of I spoke with an agent, and it's something I've heard from people, but LA right now is kind of to Austin hub of day, like the recorders leaks. Then. The mother so LA jockeys in everyone housing called those apartments out there like, you know, LA's a place to live in the league right now. So I think that other factor bomber is. Different things. So I think a lot of appealing to the clippers that weather. I don't know. Housing. I've heard like probably warriors Knicks for him. But I think you know, bread comes there. And she does leave. I think the cooker I think we'll probably get the clippers of meeting again view leaves you probably in the next. We'll see you really good answer. We're talking to Jove on covers the clippers for the athlete money. Jill. Keeping on that. We do know the reason why K D is warriors because of Jerry West. I've heard from a lot of insiders that he could actually lower Katie to the clippers and that it's actually a strong possibility. Yeah. Jerry. Jerry, the magic touch everywhere. He goes, the, you know, the Lakers for you know, a couple of decades, and he went to Memphis in turn that situation around what school states. No usher at you know, titles, and that came to the clippers, and I think you look at every move they've made since Jerry has been there has been at least a single like they really haven't struck out on much of they've drafted. Well, they they've done some some really good trade that in the moment like all Christian devices like she got better both of their does the blast cookers traded their best player say deadline and actually improve the records better off. It's better. I is there so banged up at the playoffs. But the. Actually, got better on both ends spy trading device or so Jerry's all over the blues the clippers baking, and I think he definitely is attractive thing about them heading into free. The patriots you know for stars like fixing logo. The Jerry West. So did you. Definitely. Tool for all right, fun stuff. John from you know, the show from Durant last night to the show that will happen on July one. So we appreciate you coming on Kamiar. And and we enjoy your writings in the athlete. Thanks for coming on. Guys areas Jim on pretty good spider for a Trojan. You mean? Right. Did you give me the fight on? Okay. There you go. Yeah. You know, my, you know, the weirdest forty and thing about mealtimes Trojan. Oh, I never knew that you gotta give me on the psychoanalyst couch or something. I mean, there's something going on. I don't know. And I'm a love the man deeply, but is there some sort of what's the who's the guy from Greeks Grange in Greece Oedipus is that it wrecks.

You'll also earn two percent cashback at grocery stores and one percent on all other purchases. Now when you go out you cash in what's in your wallet? Welcome to brain stuff from how stuff works. Hey, brain stuff, Lauren vocal bomb. Here. You like most humans can probably hold your breath for about two minutes though, in two thousand sixteen Guinness world records clocked free diver, a leash cigar Vendrell of Barcelona Spain holding his breath for a little over twenty four minutes, which is of course, completely wild. Humans aren't built for breath, holding we've got other priorities like world domination if we had spent even a little more of our evolutionary history working on holding in air instead of making our brains giant and complex. We probably could survive without oxygen at least as long as the average beaver which is fifteen minutes. But there are lots of air breathing animals that are built for breath holding a sloth can hold its breath for a whopping forty minutes because it's able to decrease its heart rate to about a third of the normal a sleeping sea. Turtle can hold its breath for up to seven hours at a time. A logger had turtles often forage underwater for around forty minutes in one go, but one study of loggerhead activity found that males. Can voluntarily sustain themselves on one breath or sometimes a quick charge. Up of several successive breaths for around ten hours. One female was observed going as long as twenty hours some turtles can spend all winter long at the bottom of a frozen lake in deep hibernation, not using their lungs at all the turtle secret is that during this period of almost complete system shutdown. It does take in a tiny bit of oxygen by breathing through. It's highly vascular is khloe the khloe being a single organ found in reptiles birds amphibians and even some mammals that serves as the animals exit for its urinary tract and digestive tract. And that's also the opening for their reproductive tract. Yes, they p poop and have sex with the single organ in turtles clinical respiration. They can also draw water up into their Koga and absorb oxygen from it, then flush it back out turtles, however are echo therms animals that rely on outside sources for heat. It's much easier for after therms to go without oxygen than enter therms. Like us mammals we use a lot of oxygen keeping our systems running hot. Which is why marine mammals like Wales seals and otters are so impressive. They can pull off unbelievably long deep dives in order to hunt for food. Tae-koo beaked whale, the deepest diving of all marine mammals and the one scientists think holds the record for the endothermic achieved the longest breath holding session these mid sized whales can dive around ten thousand feet that's about three thousand meters hunting four squid and other deep sea goodies, and they can hold their breath for an average of sixty seven minutes with one record dive that lasted one hundred thirty eight minutes before a coup. Beaked whale broke the previous record in northern elephants. Seal was the gold medallist caught holding its breath at one hundred nineteen minutes a sperm whale. Now comes in third place at ninety minutes. That's a long time to go without oxygen. When you've got an expensive mammalian metabolism to keep up, but lots of marine and aquatic mammals. Make it work by slowing their heart rates and redirecting blood away from their extremities into their brains, hearts and muscles. They even have special oxygen binding proteins in their muscles that allow them to store more oxygen than us land landlubbers. I'm twenty years old. And I recently got out of a really bad relationship. And you. And met a guy after that who would divorce around the same time that I've got my he's author twenty two we've basically moved into new at each other fair, and we're actually done in getting her own apartment together in November. We've also recently discussed getting married. So here's a little bit about story. Obviously he's been divorced. And I've been engaged. I was actually supposed to be married next week to my ex on. We've just got this. They both know about each other. Exit in relationships in all, but I don't want to rush things. I do very much want to get married, and I told him, you know, I'm fine with it being sooner or later, but I definitely don't rush thing. Especially since he had actually been through the process of being married in both mother someone and leading them. I was just wondering if you could offer some advice on how to. Handle this how to discuss with him making more seriously. And what you think she do you need to slow your phone with roll fuck down. I don't know how long have they been dating June. She broke up with her ex fiance in June in they met are on the same low. The fuck down a lot of now. Now, I grew up in a very Christian family, which is very like kind of old school when it comes to like, you meet someone you get married things like that. So I completely understand if you've grown up in a family like that where that is the next step or that is, you know, L A's place or southern Californian general's pretty liberal place in a place where marriage is becoming less of a. Less of a necessity. And I think which is which is interesting because you put more priority on where the relationship is. And if you get to that point, yes, there's a lot of benefits to being married, but it's not a necessity. Like, it's not something that you have to do in this amount of time in the in. This is my opinion. I completely understand everyone thinks differently. So I don't think it's a rushing thing. And I it's this sort of thing like, okay, we were talking about this the other day. We're dating a year. Okay. Next step is moving into next step. You don't everybody's steps are different..
