"You know, I'm route for a turnaround here. Where he you know, gets a second wind gets a second chance. And, um, you know, find a way to get back to his former self, because you know, he's certainly Deserves it. I think the game owes him. Um, you know for for for what he did for organization, and you know what he did for me personally and put us on his back and get to the World Series. The last thing I'll say, and I just want to share this because I really want the listeners to know how great of a person you are. First time I met David right, just everyone listed on CBS Sports Radio's A wrap it up with David, right? Make sure you get his book coming out. October 13th. I was actually in probably six or seven grade. I had blue frosted tips at a wf man Caravan event, and I met David and my friend was actually just getting out of the hospital. He was in and out of the hospital because he was going through chemotherapy as he had Ewing's sarcoma, cancer, bone cancer, and David and Cliff Floyd actually left. I think you guys were going to a Knicks game. And Steve Trachsel and Tom Glavine and Chris Woodward got ahold of you guys because all my friend wanted to do was meet David Wright. You guys blew off the Knicks game that night came back to I want to say it was the hard rocking in New York City, and and you spent two hours with us, and I thought that was one of the coolest things as someone that was in the sixth or seventh grade, and it really showed me. How someone could have it all like David, right, But at the end of the day, you're just an unbelievable person. I appreciate that. And you know, like I said, you setting that up for your friend speaks volumes of of you as a friend. More than you know us is coming in and you set everything up. So you deserve all the credit for that, But yeah, it's ah. I think a lot of athletes. None of us go out there and looking for credit. But I think that you know, being in the position that we're in. We can certainly you know, not just give back but but be influential in You know the next generation, not just a baseball players, but the next generations of citizens and try to pay it forward. So I appreciate you telling that story. But again, you deserve more The credit when we do, it's all you I'm not going to take any credit for that one. But I appreciate your words. Once again. Chicago Bulls officially hire Donovan as next head coach

"We had some big news that broke in the NBA on Tuesday afternoon after we went off air and that is one of the most desirable head coaching jobs in the League of the Chicago Bulls with their young talent. With a new front office scale, they found their head coach. It was an experienced veteran who won sixty percent of his games over the five years. He was the head coach of Oklahoma City, and that is billy Donovan scall- getting head coach of the bowls on Tuesday afternoon scale. What was your reaction when you heard the news that billy dee is going to be the headman for the bolts and I don't. Think about all that I have I'm not good with that type of stuff and I don't WanNa see here and B. M. B. S. The people I don't know what makes a good coach a certain situation I don't know what he did it Oklahoma City where when you had Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook and Katie left in it. It's just it's just a lot of variable. I know this year they were great day overachieved and he was great for. Them but I do know they also turn the keys over to cruise pause at went. But so I wish him the best I I don't I don't know what's which is even the benchmark look like for Success in Chicago I'm not even sure what I i. if I understand that I'm not even sure I understand their roster of if how good they can possibly be like a lot of guys under team. So I'd be lying if I told you all man. Shares he's going to do so good I don't I don't know any of those things. We'll see he did win sixty plus percent of his games out of the four hundred koshen. Okay. See he had an eighteen and twenty three record in the playoffs as team went to the Western Conference finals in year one when he had Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook of what they did not win a series after that any inherits a very young but my opinion relatively talented young team in Chicago So kudos to billy dee in the front office Chicago for a after a long exhaustive process finally getting their guy scale. Here's some of the other candidates that were interviewed by according to Marc Spears also according to my sources in the front. Office as well. Are they talked to Stephen Silas Jamal. Moseley Dan Craig Kenny Atkinson Gironde Collins Yodok David Vander Pool West Junior Darvin Ham and Chris Fleming who is there assistance assistant so they had a pretty long exhaustive search I. Think the search pivoted when Billy Donovan became available. That was something that was maybe unforeseen, and now he's going to get a chance where they knew front office to lead the Bulls and try to get them back into the playoffs. Gal. On because Chicago has been the second worst team in the NBA Ed only the New York Knicks in terms of the record over the last three years.

Jamaican Monetary Policy: Behind The Music

"So, we called up the Central Bank of Jamaica ask what was going on with their music video and they put us in touch with Wayne, Robinson in economist and deputy governor at the Central Bank of Jamaica. Hello Wayne you're here with us now thanks for joining us I very basic question. What does the Central Bank of Jamaica do okay. Have you heard about the fit? The US. I'm sure. Yes. The equivalent of the US Fed Meka. Responsible for overseeing the financial system. Are also responsible for monetary policy. The issuing of notes and coins so I was on twitter. kind of scrolling through very distressing stories and I saw something that you posted on the Jamaican. Central. Bank. And it was like. It was all these dancers and it was like it was like a music video. Yes, think you are speaking to our, what was I looking at? Okay, the government took a policy decision. As part of its economic reform program. Transitioning or monetary policy framework and our and our monetary policy strategy. To what is called A full-fledged inflation targeting strategy. This innocence see what you're saying now is exactly like that is the kind of language I expect out of a central bank right I mean, it's very, it's very technical. Word. And precisely you're. I think you're not alluding to the challenge we face then. How do we break down just what I said to you? In language that. Every single individual can understand and can appreciate. And that was a challenge. Tour Pr Department and one of the things nor Jamaica. You knew that we're a country that is renowned and we love music and the PR department. decided to try to capitalize on this to try to tell the story in a language that everybody's speaks and everybody understands that language is is music particularly Reagan music music videos with like dancing and like everybody's talking about inflation rates. Yes. and. It's the what is it the low stable and predictable inflation? Predictable inflation. And inflation just it's it's the amount that prices rise. So inflation really high that means prices are going up a lot and and people get really scared because they're saving starts to be feel less valuable. Also. Begin to worry. So, then they will then go back on their investments as well. So that will affect employment and growth I feel like for time at least at the Central Bank of the US, there was sort of an effort made to be as cryptic as possible. The idea of clearly communicating monetary policy so that everyone can understand like that's actually not that's pretty new. Roof central banks. To recognize this imperative. And, a number of central banks have tried to change their approach. But I think coming out of the global financial crisis where one of the major challenges encountered was that are traditional tools of monetary policy I. Think Right across the globe central banks recognize that we had to augment those traditional tools and in a context we're not sion's where the market expectations and with an auditor man's. Rations really matter a lot. The central banks came to the realization that the hot to then a just how they communicate in order to affect those very same expectations with our which are important. Central banks they're known for being very formal, very stuffy cryptic, and even though there has been some movement away from that like you guys have just gone like totally in the other direction I mean this is like speedy. It's like exuberant and fun and people are dancing at it's just like so it's like the opposite of everything I associate with central banks. That was a deliberate strategy because we're. At the outset, the first thing that we needed to do was to grab people's attention. Because other say economics monetary policy issues tend to be very critic very boring very to use your term Recoba crosses as has been very stuffy. So we had to radically change that. So this is the first step was to grab attention. And then the knicks fees then was to then try and break down don't issues to do that. We had to do something radical. I feel like one of the things that central banks really try to do it's very important for them to be taken seriously because there's a lot of trust that is necessary in a banking system. was there any worry that like this might make people trust the central bank glass that it might seem like less serious? No No. No. That wasn't our concern really because, okay. One thing you really recognize with a need to connect to people. You can't build that trust unless you create a bridge on this, you meet that connection. And so this was the main strategy that we thought was necessary to make that connection in order to build that trust. Do you think other central banks should take a page from you guys and be More fun more accessible or sure almost definitely. But the precise strategy the precise methode would be a function of the audience that they're targeting. Are you in? Are you in Kingston Right now? Yes. The capital. Yes. Are you working from home? Are you going to the office now Willa? Combination? Some days in some days I I work from home. One of the strangest thing is that coming into the office? You're virtually alone here. Because we have minimal staff that that comes in. Do you Miss Your Coworkers Oh? Yes. Oh yes. The coffee breaks the chops accommodate. Over coffee. Yes. That's sort of camaraderie dot a about various direct social interaction. And the two should know we are thinking of ways you know to. Sort of encourage this evening this virtual world. Well, thank you so much for making the time I. so appreciate it. That's that's my pleasure. Stacey. Yambio. Nation.

Reading A Crypto Candlestick Chart Basics

"In this listen, we are going to land to read the most fundamental part of a price jots the candlestick. So. First of all, make sure your child is in candlestick mode. By clicking on this tool, let appears at the top toolbar. To draw this down and you can select any one of these ways to display the price we one specifically candles. So it's important to remember that no matter. What we do in terms of chat settings or indicators is all just different ways of displaying the one piece of data we care about. The. Price. Right, the moment to moment changes in price. Is the one piece of data that everything else relies on? So shot settings, just different ways of displaying that data starting with candlesticks. So let's let's zoom in to one. Kendall. And then we'll look at the different components. So each Kendall. At a glance is displaying what happened to the price. In that period of time. And you see on the top menu again, you have the ability to change the candles display different time periods. So if we could this right now set onto one hour. Every candle represents one hour with all price movement. And then if we would change it to four hours Then that would mean that it's the same data. Combined full one hour Kendall's into a single four our Kendall. Wright we'll deal with timeframes in a separate lesson. I recommend that when you start trading, you start with daily candles. So let's go back to one D on the top menu. So now, he can barely showing what happened to the price, any twenty, four hour period. And each candle represents a twenty four hour period of trading. So from now on, we'll speak in terms of days. So let's let's zoom back in to one of the candles so he can break down the elements. Now, that hold candles because that's kind of they'll ally right In fact, we even call the thing like that long line, the WIG. And then the colored area, the buddy. And each Kendall shows full pieces of information. Full prices and these are known as the high. Open low and close. The open is the price at the very start of the day. The high is the highest price that was reached during that day. The low is the lowest price that was ever reached during that day. And the clothes was the price at the end of the day after which a new begins. So the wick displays the high in the low. And the body displays the open and the close. Now if the price ended up higher. At the close then when and then the candle is displayed green to show that the price went up. And if the price ended up lower. At the close. opened. Than The candle is displayed read to show that the price fell. So, when a Green Candle, the open price is at the bottom of the candle body. And on a Red Kendall, the open price is at the top of the Kendall Body. You'll also notice because the crypto market never close each Kendall begins exactly where the previous one left off. My. Whatever price will Kendall closes at the Knicks, Kendall will open it. So unlike the stock market, the renew price gaps, which is a very good thing. Now you don't have to use this cross hair and wave over specific points to find out what the open high low or closed price was. Coinage e will display this for you. We have to do is just hover of a any candle and the owner Elsie numbers are displayed at the top here. So Kennel sticks at the most fundamental tool that we use to display price data in a meaningful way. If I switched the shot just display the price as a line. You can see immediately how someone who is using candlesticks already has an edge. Switch back to candlesticks. Now, there are some traders who trade purely of candlestick patents using this view that we've got right now with no overlays and no indicators. We've just looked at how Price movements within the Single Day form a single candle. However, there is more insight to be extracted by looking at groups of candles and how they appear in specific combinations. So groups of candles often form specific meaningful patents on all these patents have funny names to help us remember what they are. So things like three white soldiers, dot cloud cover shooting, Stop Patton, and so on. This is dozens and dozens of them. So that's what I mean when I say some traders don't use any indicators at all. They just look at these Kendall patterns and then they make decisions Puglia float of those as to which way the price is going move next.

The Future Of IVF with Dr. Zaher Merhi

"So My name is Dr Marie? Reproductive endocrinology further specialist. My is in Manhattan on Columbus Circle. The practice is called new hope for not center I. Am a father of two boys. Ryan is fifteen years old going through puberty and Adam is eleven years old and I love my boys and my dot com will be he's my favorite history years old any sleeps with me every night I literally feel like we're just gonNA continue a sentence from from before. So we were talking about all your. Treatments in all the different things that you can experience while you're having your IV thing that sounds like somewhat not want to call it a SPA treatment but there it just sounds. Nice. Amazing this it is treated. You know it's funny to warding job honestly, and I really love my job and a lot of time I get attached to my patients because you're helping them have a baby and you know I get Christmas cards every year and saying, Oh thank you give me a baby. What kind of you know it's it's really happiness I cannot explain and actually they send pictures of the kids and the children and I put them on the wall and my house. So I have a wall full of pictures of the baby, the baby's. Saying So let's go back because I. think part of this conversation was really like I the F. One. Oh one if you've ever been curious if you've ever thought about it if you've ever been, you know sort of confused about what it entailed. We really covered all the details. So those of you listening who are still curious about that providence to go listen to part one of this conversation part two is going to be more of like you. I mean, you're just so knowledge what everything. More of the cutting edge stuff because I think that that's really what your outfit specializes in and is so prized for is that you really are on this cutting edge of what does it mean to be able to bring Tila to a challenging situations and to do it in a really as noninvasive way as possible, which is actually fascinating Lee sometimes with better results. So I guess we got cut off at noninvasive chromosomal screening is that right? Am I like looking at this? Okay. Then noninvasive chromosomes screening our next is the following. Let's say Daphne has three boys and now she wants to have a car. And now she comes to my office and tell me Dr Marie I WanNa have a boy now are we gonNa do is we're going to do something called IVF. We suck the ads at your husband's sperm, and then we make embryos right sperm and egg may can embryo it takes down a week to make an embryo Now, a days in the last few years more and more centers are testing the embryos not just for the gender also chromosomal screening. You don't want to worry about having a down syndrome baby and then I'm Houston later on or have a miscarriage and then was centers. Do they take a piece of your embryo and then freeze the embryo and test this piece for the chromosome because it's coming from the embryo? We don't do that with the Knicks are noninvasive chromosome screening. We take the fluid at your embryo where it's growing. Just. A fluid water and with that fluid for the end without taking off your angrier. We're only has this technology and I can tell you a lot of people come to us because they were like you know I don't know if the biopsy off Ambrose rain debut and I don't want south sticking out of my my future baby you know they can out to be tested. So that's that's the knicks or none of his of chromosomes I can tell you I love it because it doesn't put on your embryo if you see how an embassy biopsies down the stretch like this and the Pum, a piece of snaps out. It's a little bit aggressive. So the next I think presents a lot of things and then you can also for tomorrow and you can have your boy if you want just journalists election. Yeah. Fascinating because the the a when it's growing remember we put it in a culture dish and over the week after we had the sperm and egg over the growth of. The DNA is thrown in that fluid. So that's how we do it. So that's I think is cutting edge technology reverted proud to have it at new hope fertility center. Why is it only you guys that have this technology you know other centers have done it for research and stuff, but I did not get a good result when we started this technology. I can tell you my secret sauce by the way to have fun. Waiting. But before we offered the to patients, you have to test it. Right. You have to do on the same embryo both technologies the old one and the fluid L. We got ninety nine point nine percent correlation other places they got sixty, eighty percent Max, and so it's the the lab hasn't really got the as good results if I wanNA, say that's Why it's not. So we have great technology. We have great lab, and that's why we have a thousand nine point nine percent correlation between both understood and has a nice. So we talked before about the Needle Free Ivf, we're you take pills instead of injections, correct pills and patches and everything. Correct. There's no patches. This fills by mouth by GINA NASAL spray. Spray interesting correct. Is it just as effective show? We have to be very careful because if someone is young and they have a lot of eggs, it's not it's less effective. Why because? The shots are more aggressive food for the eggs and younger patients have lot of eggs to feed. So they need more food. So the pills is not enough they need addition to shots but women thirty five years, and above it's as effective as the old conventional where patients plenty of shots That's so interesting and I told you I have a patient and Amazon me she wants to talk about experience about the. Home Ivf because she get, we sent to the house no shots just spilt and nasal spray and that we got a lot of eggs as she made four embryos and that's that's a lot I mean it's this is favor good. So yeah it's effective and then how long can you freeze embryos for twenty five years? So it's good and bad guy, and this is great question. Let me tell you why it's good and. It's bad. It's good because nowadays, some countries by some doctors are struggling with Beijing let's say you come to me ten years ago you've eggs and you at forty now you come to me after ten years. Now you're fifty years old and you. WanNa get pregnant with my own exodus froze ten years ago. Some doctors have issues with that because now they think well, what if something happens to you now you have diabetes and you know so we're GonNa be stuck in situations where actually have a patient I was doing a patient from Norway she froze her ex in Copenhagen ten fifteen years ago. Now she's fifty one and they said we cannot use your eggs because getting you're pregnant at this age is dangerous. But, that exactly so I mean I love the fact that twenty five years but also. Having Siblings Twenty five years apart. This we it. Let's say you do IV after they get pregnant and twenty five years. Oh, my my my brother is. So. There's a lot of things but last last part which is. The great thing about freezing for twenty five years is that there is a lot of abandoned embryos what am I gonNa do with them right. I mean some clinics in this country has adult fourteen percent of the embryos abandoned coupled who left Leftover Embryos And are gone and they're not being the freezing fees because they finish this they finished family. So that's why when you go back to the conventional idea when you tell me, I get tons of eggs but guess what kinds of embryos to that you're GonNa be stuck with for live. So I won't vicious the thing that, yes home ivf or gentle IVF or neither free IVF. It's good effective at your to be stuck situation where you're going to be freezing fees for twenty five years for embryos that you might not need. Right. A lot of my consultations are bishops will finish their family and they just WanNa talk to me about what to do that embryo and I don't know what to say, what are the different options, throw it out, give it to another couple or give it twenty such but

Director Alex Hammer on Expecting Amy

"This weekend showcase with an interview with Alex Hamer. He directed and edited, expecting Amy the new, many docuseries comedian Amy Schumer, who went on tour after learning that she was pregnant. You join Amy and her husband, chef Chris Fischer. From the beginning of her rocky pregnancy to the birth, all as she travels across the country, making others laugh. She's very funny, but what I thought we were going to see was, you know Comedy on stage. It would be like a Chris Rock special or Dave Sopel special, but it's not so much being funny on stage. Is it her being a person who's funny on and offstage but you're mostly looking at her backstage and in her personal life, right? Yeah, I mean, it starts with her creating are developing a special that you want to film them along the way she finds out that she's pregnant while she's on a 40 city tour, So it's always a curveball and like trying to develop her stand up special when she's working on on the road. And and increasingly becoming more and more pregnant, becoming sick because of that, because, uh, lucky symptoms coming from that she goes through a very difficult pregnancy. She cannot keep food down. And sometimes in the toilet minutes before she goes on to stage and Can you and seems to kill on stage, right? I mean, you were there was her comedy Good every night. Yeah, I think later on in the theories talked about like she can always perform regardless of how she feels, because it's something that you kind of drop into. And it all looks like spend. Ah, how you're feeling because you're in a different zone and become very clear with a lot of performers I think go to got to. Yeah, I turned it on. You know, I thought that was one of the more interesting observations about it, she said. You sometimes forget What you're doing is making people happy. What you do is we could hear them laughing. You go. Okay, that's working. Or maybe that's not working. And then you refine your your act as you work your way through, Say, a tour. But it's not like you're going up there. Philanthropic Lee trying to make people happy, It's a job you're doing. You're doing it as well as you can. Oh, and by the way people laugh when you do your job. Well, that's part of my citizens. Isn't that fascinating? Yeah, I think that a lot of people who you know is it is work. Any kind of entertainment is a lot of work to really home here on your craft and instruments. Forget like what you're bringing to an autumn because you're so focused on making something perfect. Not to name drop because I can't but only recently talked to Barry Manilow. Barry Manilow had a new album coming out this year, and he and the New York Times he and I talked about this, he said. I don't have fun. When I'm up there. I'm trying to deliver something. And I'm always cognizant of how I'm doing. And when I'm done if you enjoyed it, I'm happy about that. But, um I enjoying the music up there the way you are. No, I'm working on my job. Yeah, work. Really? And this was shot with a smartphone or smartphones. Is that right? On. It was a combination of like, basically whatever they could get their hands on a lot of really personal footage from her husband, Chris, and then they brought on somebody that he's been working with on tour forever. What Governs History?

What Governs History?

"What governs? History. Well, there have been various answers to this throughout history I. Suppose someone they will nothing governs history. Everything is just opened a chance who even how today is going to and others have said will fate determines all things and we go back to Greek mythology and Roman mythology to understand fate we find this in the writings of homer and has said. The fates were the three daughters of the Goddess Knicks. She was the goddess of the night. And these three daughters, her three daughters were the fates. One of them would simply spin thread from spindle. That's all she would do just spin thread from spindle. The second sister the second fate would measure out a given piece of thread and that given piece of thread signified the length of life. And a third sister well, she would cut a thread and that signify death. And Greek her name literally means the in evitable an ancient mythology even mighty Zeus had to bow to the fates they were independent they were arbitrary. Capricious. And they governed all events of human history and all events of a single life. This idea of the fates carried on into the early Roman philosophers and they would talk about causality as he determining factor of all that happened in history and in a given life. Well, what is the Christian response to these two answers of nothing governs history or the fates govern? Well we find it very fascinating answer in Archibald Alexander. He was one of those old Prince Tony. Ian Scholars and he lectured on theology there at Princeton and one of his students was Charles Hodge and Charles. Hodge was very diligent student and he took very careful in cursive handwriting notes of Archibald. Alexander's lectures, and so we have this preserved for us today in book form and Archibald Alexander's talking about the doctrine of Providence. He sets it up by talking about fate and he explores how various Roman thinkers talked about fate talked about how cicero spoke of the order or series of causes that governed all things. He talks about Seneca. Seneca makes 'cause and fate an irrevocable necessity controlling the course of both human and divine affairs. So the supreme ruler. is even governed by fate and continually obeys the fates and the causes. Well, none of this is something that Archibald Alexander wants us to believe in or think about in fact, he says ought Christians to retain and use the word fate any answers categorically? No because this is very inconsistent with the truth. So. What does govern history? Archibald Alexander says Providence does and here's what he has to say does providence extend to all things small as well as great. That is to say does providence govern human history and does it govern the events of my life? He answers yes. Because God created all things and therefore he cares for all. Archibald Alexander goes onto reference Nehemiah chapter nine verses six, and that tax reads you even you are Lord alone you've made Heaven and the Heavens of Heavens and all their host. You've made the earth and all things that are in it in the sea and all that is in it you preserve them all and then he goes on to draw attention to. Such passages as Luke twelve seven or Matthew Ten twenty, nine Matthew Six, twenty, eight or Psalm. One, forty, seven, verse nine we put all of that Biblical material together and what do we find? Well, even the hairs of our heads are said to be numbered the fouls of the air, the lilies of the field even the insects are under the care of God. So what governs history will I we could ask who governs his tree and the answer is God us, and then we can ask what can we say his providence God's providence governs all things and moves all things to the fruition and the fulfillment of his perfect good and wise will. That's providence

Prehistoric Marine Reptile Died After A Giant Meal

"Of millions of years ago. Reptilian predators called it. Swam the sees their fossils look fearsome but paleobiologist real SUITCA. Motani. Of UC, Davis says, they may have looked more like friendly dolphins maybe in life he feels might have been cute. But at least the smaller ones Martinis team studied one such specimen found in southwest China. It was two hundred and forty million years old fifteen feet long but it seemed to have some extra bones in it, which Montana's team termed to be the remains of a thirteen foot long the ladder sore or see lizard the this or had swallowed and spoiler alert the only reason they were able to see this animal in the belly of the or is that this gigantic meal never got digested the sword died soon after swallowing it. Motamed is careful to say they're not sure exactly why the theus or perished, but the specimen has a broken neck. So he gave a speculative play by play. Perhaps he says the source snapped at the C. Lizard, but the Lizard fought back and the Pike in between the two fierce probably. So the the or fought to subdue its prey damaging its neck in the process then it had dislodged the praised bony head entail from it's juicy midsection. Now, the have to do it through jerking. And twisting like the crocodiles do also bad for the neck and finally the sore had to swallow the animal perhaps using inertia show or gravity to shove the prey down its gullet and the two things are by the kind it was ingested maybe the neck damage was accumulated to certain level and maybe the Knicks could not support the head details of that ancient battle appear in the journal Science. 75 years after Hiroshima, they're still feeling its impact.

"This bomb has this frank for twenty thousand tons of TNT. Harnessing, the basic power of the universe. What I fifteen I am on August six, nine, hundred, forty, five, the US Air Force dropped the little boy uranium fission bomb on central hero. Shema. Making it the first city ever to be destroyed by a nuclear bomb. On August nine Nagy became the second when the bomb exploded around thirty percent of Hiroshima's population that were killed instantly many more died in the months and years to come. Now, the bombs brought to an end to world war two but the wool was horrified at the human cost. Russia has since become a byword for nuclear holocaust forever linked to the words never again. Now, this week marks the seventy fifth anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki joining me to reflect on the legacy of those events. Tashi. Tauch. She is assistant professor at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and the author of political fallout, nuclear weapons testing, and the making of Global Environmental Crosses. Welcome. Tasha. Thanks for having me and Michael Gordon Professor of history at Princeton University and Co. it is a of a new book called the age of Russia. Welcome. Welcome. It's very good to be here. Now, Michael the fear of the nuclear age is the period after World War Two when the US dropped the bomb. The fee was that the nuclear weapons would become a common part of conventional warfare but in the seventy five years since he Russia and Nagasaki, there's not been a single bomb dropped in a conflict. Question is this because deterrence works or have we just been lucky I would say we've mostly been lucky It's quite rare that there are conflicts between nuclear-armed nations. The major example is the nineteen sixty, nine border conflict between the People's Republic of China and the Soviet Union. So there haven't been many occasions for things to escalate, and there's a strong incentive in those cases to de-escalate. There have however been very close near accidents whether missile just that needing on its own or people launching almost launching in fear of an attack and there. Have Been Plenty of conventional wars that could have escalated that way. So by and large, we've been lucky but we've been abetted by the fact that there has been an ambient taboo that has grown over the years against nuclear first use although that is rarely the policy of any nuclear power. Okay. Now from an Australian perspective, Tic- Japan was seen as an aggressor in the war, the war crimes but also as a victim because of the destruction wrought by the nuclear bombs have is the wool remit in Japan now aggressor and victim. Tarshi. Many pass through consider themselves as victims thinking that Japanese were misled by the government inter- Disastrous Wall Conquest. In this view here stands at the as the ultimate symbol of Japanese victim. But today is victim narrative faces two competing accounts. One is to recognize Japan's acts of wartime aggression, including tweeting massacres, forced labor, and sexual violence. If we see hero Shimmer from this perspective, it takes on a whole different meaning not. Not as a national tragedy, but rather as international event. killed not only the Japanese residents but also many colonial subjects and allied. POW's who are present in the city at the time of the Tom Bombing. The other interpretation that has also gained for Japan is to see the wartime conduct Japan as an act of self defense. This This lesion is narrative recaps here. As the ultimate proof of Western aggression. So fitting the predation of Japan's Joel Roles as. Aggressor and victim during the war will gain the upper hand in the future will depend on how sweet society around the world comes together and develops a shared understanding of the complex legacies or Corna reason on the war in the Asia Pacific region and back to the United States markle. There's a popular conception that Washington had to drop the bomb that it was the only way. To win the war, of course, the war in Europe come to an end in May of forty five. This is early August two, forty five is that true I mean what? What President Truman's options? So. This is a great question and it's one with a lot of confusion around it. Functionally. The only way the only government that had any power to end the war was the Japanese government which was in a position to surrender and the question was when would that happen would have happened later or earlier by summer nineteen, forty, five, it was already clear that the war was militarily lost. President Truman and the US government in general had basically fixed options of what they could do to try and encourage the Japanese government to take that move. There's only two that people usually talk about dropping the atomic bomb or invading the home islands of Japan. Both of those were on the table also having the Soviet Union inducing them to enter the wars of belligerent which happened on August eighth increasing the intensity of firebombing tightening the blockade of foodstuffs into the home islands. and modifying the terms of unconditional surrender to allow Japan to keep the emperor. The interesting thing is all six of those happen Truman pursued all sex and the war ended. It's unclear which ones were determinative. But the point is there wasn't like we had one option or nothing else. The US had plenty of options and exercised actually all of them. On the one level target for the bombs was obviously Japan on another level. Real target was the Soviet Union. How did the Kremlin of you? He Russia Mirror Negga? Second Markle. So. Really, the question here is a small set of people within the Kremlin stolen and his closest advisers and you that there was an atomic bomb project going on in the United States for years they've found that out from spies from Britain from spies in the United States, and they had their own uranium enrichment and bomb development program that was going on at I would say a medium scale What happens after the destruction of Hiroshima is I in absented himself for a few days he went into a depression and didn't. React to any of his advisors and then immediately massively escalated the Soviet development of their own atomic bomb. So they were both caught by surprise and not caught by surprise. It's true that the Americans didn't always think about the Soviet Union as a factor in any decision related to how the war was going to end but they also very strongly, we understood that the key issue was trying to get this the Japanese government to surrender faster because the faster they surrendered the less impact. The Soviet entry in the war would have to how the end game would play out in Asia, my guest, Michael Gordon, and Tashi Hitachi, and we're reflecting on the seventy fifth anniversary of Hiroshima. Tashi. One, hundred fifty thousand atomic bomb survivors still living in Japan. In fact, as a guest of Japan's Ministry of Foreign. Affairs this would have been in September twenty, sixteen I met one of one of the survivors now they're all in education and public law has plied an important part in shaping Japan's post-war Pacifism. Now, as generation dies out, is the role of pessimism in Japanese politics is that diminishing especially in the face of Rausing China Toshi? I don't think the passing of the atomic bomb survivors will diminish the strengths of pacifism in any short-term. The correctly memory of human magazine Japan has been fairly robust and the taken deep roots in popular culture. I can think of a good example that is Japanese animated wartime drama film released just four years ago in two thousand, sixteen cold in this corner of the world. This picture accounts of the wartime life in here she was a smash hit in the box office. Be, atomic bomb survivors will also active in passing down lessons from the world's first nuclear war to the next generation. The city's over here streaming nagy training. Many Japanese Ron Tears as storytellers who share the testimonies are waging victims and a second generation survivors are spearheading efforts for peace unjustice. Well, that brings me to today and really in the last that he is the end of the call was thirty years ago the US. And the Soviets on Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty non stop this was President Bush senior and Gorbachev in Russia in the inside at Union. Then just as it was collapsing now, both agree to significantly reduce their nuclear stockpiles and of course, the updated treaty between Moscow and Washington that expose I. Think it's February Knicks Jeez. So that's just a few days after the next president is warning Michael Do you think it will be resigned. I think that's entirely dependent on the results of the election. Joe. Biden has indicated that he would refine the treaty The trump administration has had many opportunities to re-sign the treaty, but they have not taken advantage of those opportunities yet. Russia's indicated that they're very interested in extending

New York Knicks hiring Tom Thibodeau as next head coach

"So Tom Thibodeau is gonna be the head coach of the next. Here's our guy. Stephen A. Smith, Our first take host was on return to the MBA, and he discussed the positives and negatives. Of the Knicks hiring Fido. Nevertheless, nobody can argue that Davidow has the most successful resume it available coaches that one open market he's one about 59% of the games. You know the job you did in Chicago. We noted he sold it to the postseason first time in like a decade for like, 13 years. We know that he's with one could easily argue whether not Doc Rivers would be a champion as a head coach had it not been for top Thibodeau being his assistant. In Boston back in 2008. So all of those things come with He's got an incredible reputation. Terms of knowing the game of basketball of the entire Lesley committed to the game of back, eat, lives and breathes basketball day and night. Um and you combine that with the fact that again either defense with it, though, that a pluses minuses. The fact that in Chicago there were issues with Paxson and guard form in the general manager In Minnesota. There was an issue with the owner, Glen Taylor, and management, along with the fact that Jimmy Butler wanted to be traded went off Thibodeau, his former coach in Chicago, by the way. Was his president of basketball operations and to coach in Minnesota. And so as a result, you've got a home and believe that Tom Thibodeau has made the necessary adjustments. He's seen the error of his ways. Some respect player relations. And even relations with management and that this is a good deal because I'm here and it's a three year deal. "knicks" Discussed on The Stephen A. Smith Show

"Fdic real quick. Somebody called in didn't Didn't want to hold called an today if I'd been using the same. Vip access entrance for twenty eight years. And it was taken for me. If I've been using the same employee entrance for twenty eight years. How would I react? I'll tell you two answers to that number one. I doubt that I would have gone on. Tv complain about it. Afterwards number two while you can complain about spike specifically. I'm also thinking about the other side of it would be mad. Sure anytime you get access taking away. You're mad what about everybody else sitting. Courtside they all pay the same money. We keep stressing that spike Lee buys these tickets. Does that mean everybody's buying courtside seats at Madison Square Garden. And if I'm paying the thing money is spike Lee. And he's going through a different elevator every single game. You Bet your but that'd be the only season I pay for it because you're paying for access when you pay at that level so I'm not gonNA take anybody getting some preferential level of that access whether it's Jay Z. Or whether it Spike Lee. Or whether it's any other celebrity. That's their first. Take Your Take Yousef in Los Angeles come. I know you want to respond on Spike Lee. What do you got? What's your take. Okay let's check it out man. I really appreciate what you're doing. Thank you for having me on. First of all But I hear you say that Spike Lee its own. I complain about His his access being taken away but the only thing I don't you said that he said right there on when you play the clip you said you know what I wasn't tripping on all that stuff saying that he said he what do you call it. Garden Spin there was an article that got put out that he was lied on. A lot of points and saddest. Woody came on that. They're talking about and then due diligence as journalism. Yes they're gonNA ASK THEM QUESTIONS ABOUT. What happened spikes passionate? But that's not. I don't think he really came on there to complain about. Having this stuff taken away he came. Because what do you call garden spin? Well and that's and that's a really fair point. I'll say that he's coming on because of the article. I'll give you that all day. Let's also acknowledge though that the statements made were made because the twitter like he said he also said in the interview. He was trending now. If all you saw was the video on twitter of him being removed from the garden without context. Obviously I would expect the garden. It gives them sort of respond to that. And please if anyone hasn't listened to me before. Don't take me as a knicks apologised all right. I'm the one that's been sitting on air for two years telling you. The brand of the Knicks is completely irrelevant. People don't WanNa play there and people don't care about the garden right so I've been all anti everything that they're doing for a very long time. I'm also capable of saying this one particular time I mean. What did they ask him? Do they told him to leave the elevator and when he said why? We'll talk about what's wrong with that response. They also offered to walk him to seats. What's wrong with that response? I mean I get it. Maybe they should have called him in advance. Fine but is that worth all of this Hoopla Michael in Florida. What are you got next for calling? I take your take. What's your take so I think it's I've got two point so I think he's absolutely. I mean any regular person would be like what you're taking away drive me nuts but from it's a communication problem because and they don't really WanNa probably tell them this because they they may have just realized after twenty years an employee access life safety if there's an emergency he's there number one fan if something happened to Spike Lee in an employee access area when they're taking away somebody when something happens or they're delaying an elevator when somebody's having a real emergency that's an emergency elevator. What did you do? How do you respond to that? And I like that take. I mean that has to be part of their conversation again. I don't know how much we can believe the next. We all know that there's been from there all the time. But they did say in their statement the idea that spike Lee is victim because we have repeatedly asked him to not use our employee entrance and instead use a dedicated. Vip entrance which is used by every other celebrity who enters the garden is laughable by the way we haven't heard any of those celebrities speak out yet. At least I haven't seen it on twitter saying that they also use the employee entrance. So we haven't had anybody come out and clapback on that either deontay in Virginia. You want to give us your take on the other question. We're asking you the worst run organization and all all sports Deontay Virginia. What's your take on it? Yes the Tampa. Bay buccaneers are by far the worst organisation in history. Okay we'll see we'll see in the state of Florida but don't take over the JAGS. I mean no. I'm looking at the jazz. They kind of knew you know we older. Because I'm a fan and you know we older and you know when you look at the history and of the stars that we could've you know Jack's but you got you got a super bowl. Like as a raiders fan. I watched y'all kick my. I'm still haunted by that. Super Bowl come on now. Where's that stuff from getting a bunch of tweets on a lot of votes for two for Cleveland as we get Mr Lemond since two thousand and two have not made? The playoffs have not finished first or second in their division. Have not had a winning record or even record seven. Eight and one is the closest if not drafted lower than the twenty second big in the first round and forty three starting quarterbacks. I mean when you're talking about the box and then you hear that forty three starting quarterbacks. Oh it is tough. It is tough to be a browns fan. It's tough to be a knicks fan. We'll get through all of it together as we see some of that Phantom reflected you guys have been amazing today. Keeping a key here will gain show coming up next. "So just how bad have been this season in the context of the Knicks. Not that bad in the context of most basketball teams Pretty bad by thirty seven after they lost by forty four Milwaukee losing streak now stands at eight as knicks embarrassed on their home floor. Again you know at the moment have the fifth worst record in the NBA they lead the NBA losses last season and the seventh straight season. That they don't make the playoffs so it has really been a dark period for the organization screamed not competitive from the second quarter on and you know after the rough start this season. The Knicks fired their head coach. David Fidel in December. It wasn't really a surprise but then a little over two weeks ago. They cut ties with their team. President Steve Mills. Give some breaking news. Words what can you tell us? What's going on their New York has fired their president. Steve Mills Scott Perry will continue for the firing of Steve Mills surprise. I think the timing was a surprise. It happened two days before the NBA trade deadline. The Knicks were a few days away from making a very high level train of their best player. Marcus Morris and to have something like that occur. It was a shock. I think across the league just because of wended happened and you know the fact. That really doesn't happen for any other team except for the Knicks but they have a history of poorly timed decisions for their executives so when they do fire mills plenty of people are just relieved to see him on the rug and Steve. The phone goal my friend but also the Knicks Fan. There's the sense that nothing's going to change because the problems. Just start at the top with the owner James Dolan. I'm not GonNa sit here and just say that this is necessarily a good thing on Dolan's par for the simple fact that he does crazy sporadic things you know like this is one of them. A lot of the knicks issues and especially from their fan base and some of the perception around the League is that it's related to their owner James Dolan. Obviously he's still there. You can fire all the coaches and all the executives you want. The owner remains the same. I think they're still skepticism. That anything will really change with the next until the man in charge changes for the next. I mean listen. This is coming a few days after sell the team chance were ringing through Madison Square Garden..

"And then this past summer. The Knicks were heavily pursuing Kevin and durant and Kyrie Irving in the free agency market. And they were also hunting for new head coach. So how did David Phys day'll come into the equation. He was seen Zina's this guy who could possibly boost their chances of landings of these big free agent players. Dale was seen as what's known as a players coach. He's a young guy. He knew. Lebron Lebron as a as an assistant coach in Miami and the Knicks really thought he could be a draw for there two big free agent targets and maybe for some young players who who might not want to play in New York otherwise they were convincing themselves that with the cap space that we have and David Phys delbene. This young hip coach. Who was an an assistant coach in Miami? Lebron James Free agents are gonNA come running to us in New York. That's what they were selling. When they hire Dave Biz Dale? That's what they were selling all of last season and and in the end none of it came to fruition so coming into this season there was obviously a lot of disappointment with the Knicks. Not landing any big name stars not not to mention missing out on sign Williamson the draft but how his David Phil actually been doing as a coach this season with this hand. He's been dealt not not well. They were foreign eighteen under him. But how much of that. I guess is his fault. It's hard to say the defense has been bad. I think it's fair to criticize him for that. A- and one of his major duties miss very young team was player development. The jury is still out on whether or not. He's actually been good at that but of course that's really hard to assess twenty two games into his season but I think the overall feeling is that he just didn't have much to work with in terms of talent last season. They got David visit to buy into this idea. Okay we're losing now but this losing will turn into something positive during the off season and then you turn around and you look and they didn't really get it in the impact players and I think that has a lot to do with the roster just wasn't good enough and I think David Biz. Dale who probably still has a lot to learn as a head coach. I don't think he could overcome. That goes back to hiring somebody with more than basically a year and ten games as head coach. That's a mistake that they made so you could say he may be hasn't adjusted to the roster that he's been given or you could say that nobody could do well with what he was given in the amount of time he was given and so New York. Doc is where you know for a long time basketball players wanted to go. I mean it's New York but that isn't necessarily the case anymore yet. The sad thing to me you know. Is that like a lot of young players coming up right now. Don't remember the days of the Knicks teams in the nineties. They don't have a good example of what it's like to be a King of New York because the last one really was Patrick Ewing. And that's something that Kevin Durant mentioned. He said the knicks aren't cool anymore. It's not necessarily a team that young players I want to go play for. It doesn't have the appeal of the Golden State Warriors or the Lakers or even the Brooklyn Nets. And so tell us a little bit about the interim head coach coach Mike Miller. He's a basketball veteran. He was a first round. Pick by the Orlando Magic in the two thousand draft. He was rookie of the year two time. NBA Champion with the Miami Heat on those Lebron teams. Where Phil was an assistant coach for the past two seasons? He's been an assistant on Penny Hardaway staff at the University of Memphis and and he's been the head coach of the Knicks G. League team for the past four years. He was actually named coach of the year in the G. League for the twenty seventeen eighteen season and he had been an assistant coach the next under fishtail. And he's really known for his expertise in player development which we've established as a huge part of cultivating cultivating this very young raw roster right and he actually almost pulled off a victory in his debut as coach. Yeah a one point laws on a miss. Julius Randall free throw the Knicks lost one hundred four hundred thousand three to the Pacers and do we have any idea who the next head coach might be well. People are kicking around a lot of names James. I think Mark Jackson could be play. I think Jeff Van Gundy could be in play. I think Tom Thibodeau could be play or another young assistant coach. I would think that Jason Kidd did could perhaps be in play but honestly I think it's way too early to say and the Knicks probably won't hire anyone until after the season's over and there's talk that they could could and probably should shake their front office further with Steve Mills being the next guy potentially on the chopping block as president and previously GM MM-HMM. He's overseeing several years of the dysfunction and frank reported over the weekend that his days are numbered and short of Dolan selling the Knicks. That's seen by some as the most necessary step and actually turning around this team and so I guess the big question here though is would any reasonable person want to be the next head coach of the Knicks. At least as long as the current ownership stays in place. I think it's a lose lose situation. Look there's a lot of money money to be. made the one thing about the knicks that they're not cheap and despite how terrible the Knicks are. They're still the most valuable team in basketball. They're worth four billion dollars. Dollar's losing has not hurt their bottom line. And if you're the coach who ultimately turns around the New York Knicks Franchise. They would actually build a statue of you on Seventh Avenue Avenue outside the garden. So what you're saying. We're going to see a statue of Meta world peace outside Madison Square Gardens in the future. I mean I'd hire him. Well could be the thanks so much for joining me. It was a rough commute..

"The team. Why you don't have the two guys that you thought were going to be running the point guard position and whether those guys is are qualified to be the point guard of the next question okay but like that's that's who they had so Peyton came back and it's going to take some time but maybe maybe if they were going in the right direction if you saw positive signs if you didn't see thirty seven point losses at home then you could say oh okay right? It's just the point guard issue but when you continue to see games that are not competitive players giving physio calls sickening effort. I think you have to start bracing for some kind of change but it to Kendrick's point is that changed just limited to the coaching. Does it hit the front office as well because I mean you think about it you you draft you draft. Rj Bear right right and he's the centerpiece off the top. You have to go gig guys. That's going to surround him and put him in position to be successful. Oh I'm talking about either great veterans on the right pieces right now. You have the Moore's brother you have Julius round. Do you have about three or four guys that all play the same type of way Is Not been is bad for for RJ. Bear right now because he's learning nothing but horrible habits and he's not getting the chance to be himself so I think this front office not just coach Physio. They have to be accountable food. And why is it important to the NBA. As a whole of how the Knicks are doing and not just in one year. Oh Gee this season but over a twenty year period or anything like that. Fifteen year period period look this franchise is worth four billion dollars. Four billion it is the most valuable franchise in the NBA. It has one of the largest largest fan bases in the NBA with acres. Maybe one or other team do you know how that four billion measures up just around. US Pro Sports. It is the third most valuable franchise in all all of American pro sports cowboys and Yankees the only ones who are more valuable. You WanNa know how it measures up around the world a little sore spot there Globally every team soccer. Anything you WANNA talk about. In any country countries that have were citizens than the United States. They are the fifth most valuable franchise in the entire world. This is an important team. It's important to the NBA. It's important to the fan base and year after year. We are seeing things go not in the direction that its own fans one of whom is in our our control room would like it to go in all right. Let's take a look at the rockets. Because they had an impressive win in Toronto last night Russell Westbrook though continuing to struggle with his shooting. Westbrook shot seven twenty-seven last night he is now fourteen fifty-seven.

"Because of this doesn't happen. You know, what's next, right? We're left because let me tell you. Let me stop. Let me stop that established. Lemme real in myself emotionally. Trying to be cool just hard. I'm tired of suffering. Tie the suffering. I'll tell you. If the New York Knicks don't get the number one overall pick, you know, chances are they're probably going to get the top three either. Right. John. One or two things that go happen either the New York Knicks ended up with the top two pick. And we're sitting there wait in like salivate and at the mouth of that one dramatic moment. Okay. Either that happens, and then we get disappointed. Because somebody else ends up with the number one pick instead of the Knicks. Oh, the New York Knicks really show, you what life has been like in the James Dolan era when they end up falling out of the top five because they got a forty percent chance at a top three pick. They've got a forty percent chance of the number one pick a forty percent chance at the top three pick a sixty percent chance at a top five pick. Best odds at fifty eight percent a little bit more than fifty eight percent with the number five over how much I wanna make a bit of New York up with the number five pick or lower. Just to torture us five is the lowest. I'm sorry. How would you want to make a better the New York? This is ain't gonna go low, and how much you wanna make a bet that the New York Knicks end up with the fifth overall pick. This is what I'm praying won't happen. And I'm trying not to speak to existence, but I'm trying to be honest with my listeners. As for me. I once I on wish didn't want to two places I want in the New York. I want him in LA. We'll lebron. Because I love the staple center. I love LA and that two percent chance that the Lakers have getting a number one overall pick man go for it. Get it get it. Please. Unless the Knicks unless at the expensive the Knicks. I want the Knicks to get the number one overall pick. But if they can't get it let his kid I don't want. Diane in Cleveland, God forbid, he ended up in Phoenix that's basketball plays. We need him in a major major major. Television market. According to Forbes, or whomever it is that wrote about it Zion. Williamson the money that he would make New York compared I think we'll came on. I take this one of my show on ESPN every weekday morning from today in the noon eastern, seven nine Pacific. I think will mention it. He stands to make thirty to forty percent more money if he were in New York than if he were saying Atlanta, but here's the deal for me. I want them in LA if he can't be in New York. I want him in that kind of market. I want to see Diane Williams on television. And I'm not talking about. Sportscenter highlights. I wanna see in the saying about people that got the NBA package. Everybody can't afford it either. I would encourage you to get it. If you can. This is about. Seeing this do look the basketball world is just a better place when Boston New York or LA or combination of two of the three or all three are relevant. I throw Chicago in there too. But especially those previous three markets that I mentioned L A, Boston New York. And if the New York Knicks. Don't get Zaire. Williamson y'all know where that leaves us right y'all, although it at least Knicks fans everywhere. Right. Don't you? Don't. It leaves us sitting around. Literally, hoping and praying that Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving truly truly truly do end up coming to New York, which I'm told they will. It truly leaves us in that realm..

"Done it three times. That's do. So before our even consider going back over there here yet. Okay. Carrie, Kevin Durant? So so Jimmy enough. They. They gotta get max contract. Please, of course, not Campbell. And it's I mean, it's not Carina came into rent. Yeah. Sure. But what I'm saying is getting more pick ain't enough because we don't have we execute. You don't take Kristaps? And it still went the wrong way. What if it's what if it's too by Harrison aggressive? It's. You are no. But they not ambitions. Knicks fans fail to realize is that we have the chance get Durant and Kyrie but also change. We don't get none of them 'cause Kevin Durant wins and baby carry goes there. Lay and Kimball wants to be loyal now that that that's what bothered me is about Lakers fans and Knicks fans. Everyti- somebody's available to photo saw comes out of them in jersey. And that forget I wanna hundred ACO's pages. Wants to is that we have sixteen seventeen percent. The first go to second and third. But that also means we have a sixty percent chance to fall out of the top three. And you know, it's crazy. There's a four percents chance to Dallas Mavericks in the first over opaque. Can you imagine if they get the first overall pick all we haven't Chris Evan Lucas? See there is a possibility that the Knicks for now, I got one foot in New York and one foot in Dallas. There the possibility that you don't get the first overall pick or top three pick Durant stays of the wars. And they went to championship kyri goes the LA chorale leaves Toronto. He's only going to go to Los Angeles, mama and then good kid cameras as or what did you go camping? Chris you're gonna give prison Middleton. Hey, wouldn't give visors that data Jimmy, but will? Let's keep it a real fan. Nick fans. Y'all y'all part of this too? Now, all of y'all because the Knicks fans is crazy man eighty seven classes fans in the game period. So one is Kristaps got her. I got traded see people go to his comments other little Nick Nick pages that was talking about. It's all about the Hopi tear shit again. Bro. People burn his. That's crazy. We never did that. Because what you do you bought that month? So you're not gonna burn right about here. That's that's one hundred dollars Rosa. He probably be. But we city. Looked at it. Like it was stupid. I know there's always going to be stupid and every fan base. So they might have Derosier stomach. No sense. He was traded following them. My favorite player. You're wrong about favorite player. I would be okay fan. I'll follow on hers because he's the last hope that I have from the Knicks. So if I'm not going to be a Nick fan, I'm I'm gonna carry that last, but a hope that I ever had was in coded here near near to my heart. Period. So that's my that's my proposal for the Knicks old. My answer's going to be this or that or choice you a fan of another eighteen besides Mavericks at this. There was a guy that wasn't expand that sold his fandom. My boys day. Oh, bought his fandom and made him a Lakers fan. Like, he put it on EBay, and you can oxen to have him his fandom to another team for how much I it was a decent amount of money. I'm so if you want to sail, yo fandom, you can make back some Licey, man. Is very expensive yada heart. I've often him. Let me just see how much Knicks games. We don't spend that. We we spend money three thousand five hundred bucks to become a Lakers fan. Thing. I already him. I'm not from paid it. Now, they pay him. They paid him become Jijel how much to become a Laker fan me. It's going away more than this. You gotta get the tattoo. You gotta get him a new tattoo that it's going to be more than three thousand dollars. I was going to do it anyway, and my heart. I'm always trying to ask me if you can become a Lakers fan. So glad. Yeah. That's not even a good a lot even me everybody just commented that you lie everybody because they don't even make sense for my first of all, you know, how much I'd be disliking. You are in the position to do anything with it. That's that's the field with the Knicks. That is legitimately the fear with the Knicks. Because you know. Because you know, and it was it was an unfortunate thing. But like one of the luckiest things that could have happened to the Knicks was Victor Ola depot getting hurt because the Pacers have a ton of cap space to sign one max player this year. Now, people were saying that the patients may still make a trade before the deadline just because of people getting hurt and they still have a decent chat at making a run in the playoffs. But you know, again, you know, just because you take one team off the board. You still get a bunch of other squads that have the Cavs base out are far more attractive that being the LA teams realistically, you gotta young clippers team that's far more competently managed than the Knicks and you got lake the Lakers with LeBron. "Philly or someplace like that but lebron james decides that he would rather go to la i don't think anybody's gonna fall tim for that i think that shift would be easier to stomach then have trying to go right up the road to to philadelphia well if he lied cleveland is obvious this man is greatest he is one of the top fifteen players all kind of west top three it's obvious he's a he's a rain chasing so forth like that but if you go to la that's his business over here hey but back to the new york knicks real quick ryan jackson mark jackson built golden state steve curve he listening he know it tails steve kerr to take the loudest team and basketball so so that that he he can can but be nice to the fact that the matt is the kerr did take them to three straight nba finals one two chips improved offense and gave more jackson all the credit in the world for what he did as a coach particularly on a defensive side ball from the moment that he's arrived it's not like this man has ever failed to recognize the contribution that all jackson made to this franchise in fairness no i didn't say that but when i'm saying i'm talking about the naysayer of the guys in the media that san marcus not qualified one hundred percent qualified and guess what killed thousands next summer might be the best agent period in nba history not only one in two thousand ten kevin durant klay thompson jimmy butler.

"Or to put it more accurately they don't believe in what he has to say you gotta get somebody that's not only the voice of the new york knicks but the kind of that new yorkers will say i'm going to give him a chance i'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that man is mark jackson it's just that simple and only then after you hire more jackson as your head coach now you go after trae young and here's what trae young is not as small as i think he is according to everybody i've never stood next to him i haven't seen him in person yet but i'd say stephen a he's a legit six two i didn't know that brother looks about five nine on tv got the broad shoulders got a nice handle can pass the rock all of those things are true so if he can pass the rock and he can handle the rock and he can shoot from anywhere those i got to pay attention to that and you know why have to pay attention to it especially if i'm the new york knicks because i missed out on steph curry two thousand and ninety i remember that the new york knicks had this eighth pick mike dantonio still a coach donnie walsh was at the hell they were gonna grab steph curry but the golden state warriors grabbed him i would th pick one pick for the new york nixon.

"Lamented report surrounding you in order to win championships assuming you don't have to face golden state every single year the new york knicks at least have won the lakers are still looking for the stephen a you and i have both worked in the industry for many years now the broadcast industry i mean and you know when you're considering where you wanna work and you're thinking about it who is in charge makes a big difference know listen when you're younger you don't always realized that then you have some experiences and you realize weight this is a good organisation this one not so much i want to work for the good organization because your life is better players realized that let's not forget any player worth getting is going to be with their franchise for the first five to seven years that's the way the rookie salary is is is kind of structured and the way you can become a free agent first unwritten first restrict than unrestricted max level players never gone before five years five to seven years really closer to seven and by the time there that old and they've had that much experience in the league and in the world they realize they don't want to play for dysfunctional organization i'm not i'm not those stats tougher players at the truly great players in the players of a chance to be great and they are going to look at jeannie boss and los angeles versus new york and dolan and they will choose jeannie bus and los angeles ten times out of ten when you think about as you know stephen a growing up in queens thinking about new york how much that town loves basketball guys i'm here to tell you the oh it's the yankees town knows not not the giants football nfl is king a when the knicks so good there is no hotter ticket basketball is everything to new york in the 80s stephen day when the next when the giants rather than the yankees committee get one hundred bucks for the best seat in the house they were charging fifteen hundred dollars the sick courtside and watch patrick ewing in them play so it is a basketball insane town and they still can't attract a superstar player through free.

"You know i think when when this question i ask what can the new york knicks do what who the gm i mean i feel like falling back on my final take yesterday was only to anything because it's the head that sick you don't solve like are the the extremities by by ignoring the course in the core of the problem you don't solve symptoms without addressing infection that being said i wanna be constructive cassidy i want to come up with ideas for the next won't do my best to try to solve this for them because there's there's love it doesn't happen to have reveres today you get back in the garden for any gay racket tell you that right let me tell you something there's a long list of us that aren't getting the garden now because i saw a lot of people it's obvious that dolan problem is obvious but let's let's move forward let's let's let's envision one of two paths forward for the knicks and i will tell you on torn on which path we mock organizations that play homerun ball when it comes to how to solve and organization let me hit this big free agent let me get this big signing look i'm a massive dallas cowboy thin no surprise to anyone i know very well that is a tendency to jerry jones that's a little siren song he has a hard time ignoring wall dion i'll take dion another big when teo i'll take that one too big signings are often horrible more often than not horrible for organizations and we rightfully mock them for that but i also think time just lean into it if you're gonna be this dysfunctional be who you are all right you've what did yourself to carmelo to some extent they may still by amount they may trade and but look they chose carmelo overfilled.
