"Shoot Lightning Miss Kohl's I can take. It should mighty now. I WANNA. Play this piece right now. Fall on my face in front of all my friends and family and then could. Dissolve into a puddle of tears when why I think I'm not good enough because it took a pieces, would you hard yeah not that I've had to deal with that? Not My current students thankfully has a previous thing case listening I'm not talking about you actually. She's fighting about your siblings. She's talking about me. It's me as you as you else in that law that weekend long course we did. Very intense. She taught me specifically, so that I could audition. For very important role in the first season of star girl, unfortunately, I was not up to the task. You're too good. That was the problem. But yeah, the the again the discussion over the I guess the revelation that the the lightning channeling we saw Iro. Do earlier in the season is like a unique thing that no one else knows how to do was really cool and As much as The balance between off Zuko staff, and then just ridiculous and hilarious Sokha stuff i. just worked really really well, so let's start with the ZUKO staff. Is He still angry? angsty fire, email fire, kidde where we at right now I mean I I still I mean can also call him Zuzu now he want on, because we do have a nickname from Zulu now. But how do we in like in a world where a bunch of the our listeners across to the call? Wells are not a fan of Lucy as True short then, how do we feel about? Zuzu Zuzu legit I love Zuzu. Yeah. No, it's it's diminutive and it's a perfect thing for Zulu calls Zuko. Yeah I think like angsty. Fire Kidde is mo higher. Kid is probably the correct lane for him right now. I mean again. The kid was just at a rainstorm. Yeah Dashboard Confessional Fire Kidde right. All that's very good. Yes, there you go. Yeah, no I think it's I. Think it's good like I, mean he? Just he's so very lost. And I really appreciate like the discussion about him in the chase.

"And your child is listening to that. They too will communicate up their points in a similar way. When you scream at them across the room and tell them to turn the television down because you're on the phone. They will then scream across the room in our classrooms and tell people what they should be doing. When you give them. Smack or rap to correct behavior instantly because you think that they're doing something inappropriately. Well, they're going to use those behaviors as well as a way of dealing with people that aren't doing what they want. So we demonstrating we need to demonstrate different behaviors. With our kids we need to play with them. We need to sit with them and do the work. I realize parents are working one and two jobs day, but they have to find a way, and if they can't do themselves they need to find community resource that will put children with adults that are going to be playing with them and working with them. So that they can see what that looks like what that feels like they can make those connections, right because we just keep sending them to the room to do their work. They're not going to do it and very often. If they do do it. They do it with a resentment or they do it because they're trying to. Earn something from you like your love. I don't know of anybody of your listeners have that experience perhaps that they felt like their entire life. They were working to try to get their parents to recognize them trying to get their love. Right. So they were everything that they did was an effort to try to get that recognition. And then when they have children they could continue that cycle. So how do we go away from that cycle? Then let kidde know that we love you unconditionally. There are things that you may do that. We don't agree with him. We don't want. We would prefer you not to do. So we want to redirect that behavior by offering incentives to do things more constructively more beneficial to them, as as, you know, socially appropriate though, it seems like part of what you do then is training parents, and how to be very much interact with these with these kids, the ones that have emotional issues or very much. So we. I spend most of my time training, the people these days that work with the kids. Whether I'm teaching them in a classroom, or I'm working in their classroom, or I'm going talking with parents during parent trainings or talking with parents, you know. You know about their situation at home. Do you actually go into people's homes, then I don't hardly, but when I retire from public service. I'll be able to do that. It was a TV show. I don't even know if it's still on anymore. It was this English nanny, and she would move in with these families, and basically teach them how to parent how to set boundaries. And it was I loved the show because it was so it was just I mean, these kids were just regular kids. They didn't have any necessarily special needs. But you could see where she was like your parenting is just way off here. And here's what you, you know, it's like the parents didn't want to be the bad guys wanted to be liked that was a lot of it or they unaware of the effect. They were having on their on their kids, you know, can provide structure without it being aversive. Yeah. You don't have. It doesn't have to be aversive experience. I remember. There was I think that that is one of the reasons why young people sometimes shy away from structure is because it's presenting it. It's it's presented in such a way. It doesn't seem appealing. You know, I've listened to the stories that I've listened to over the years. And then of course, my own study that was one of the things that I've found that the way they found. Excitement about doing living a life differently than the one. They had been living using alcohol and drugs. Was because they found it more peeling. They found it more appealing. You know that they saw they saw a attributes in the people that were mentoring them that they wanted. And so they were willing to do the things that are necessary in order to live that type of life. You know? And that I think is a big piece of the puzzle that and also transparency, I think that you know, we as adults need to learn how to be transparent with our children and also help them to learn.

"Listen, and I love it. I am in cognitive behavioral therapy in a major way right now. And it's working I have to say I feel like I'm starting to implement some of the tools earnings. So, you know, so I have I had to make a bunch of doctors appointments, and I had the urge to not do it because I'm scared. But instead I called first thing this morning and made my two appointments and then like last night after kind of a tough day. I made my. Self do my gratitude practice which helped because I was I think it's very easy to list. All your the things you're grateful for when you had a great day. But when you're in a shitty day, and you're like, what am I grateful for all this hard stuff is going on? It really does help you find like, the the wonderful good chunks of your life. And then this morning, I showered I oiled my body with some almond oil. Nice. I did my lemon water. Nice lemon water. I ate a nice big breakfast. Nice. It some eggs on corn tortillas. Ooh. And then I like just took in my fresh. I put on a dress. Yeah. You let kidde tried to make myself just feel good. Yeah. And you know, I'm still feeling panicky. But I also feel like I'm in control of what I can control. And everything else will just play out. Yeah. So that was an interesting. It was an interesting kind of just observing myself. Now, I I, you know, health stuff is very scary for me. It's like where my anxiety lives in a lot of ways. So so that was the journey. I went on this weekend. So here I am. Yeah. But I feel okay. I'm glad that you kind of like re-centred. I did reframe that narrative. Fully did the reframing. Yeah. Yeah. It does help. I mean, it doesn't make anything easier. But as it does help. Yeah. So yeah, that's where I landed. Good. Thank you for asking. Of course, how did your selling of items? Go. Well. I I'm perpetually purging things your purge my house, but you know, of course, being a purge master raises. The question of why the hell did I have so much stuff to begin with? I do have to tell you every time. You do a purge..

A lot of people did that Pete Davidson on Saturday Night Live had made he was making jokes about different people running for office in what they look like in. My made a joke about a guy who is running for congress with an eye patch. And then as an aside since said, something that sounded dismissive of the man's terrible, wartime, injuries sounding very dismissive. It did indeed. And. And he caught a lot of flack for that. And he offered an apology and the Lieutenant Commander in question said, I don't need an apology. I don't spend my days walking around looking for reasons to be offended, in fact, quite the opposite. In spite of that Saturday Night Live invited the Lieutenant Commander to come onto the show, and he did, and it was very very funny. A number of jokes at Davidson's expense is the gentleman and I'm sorry. What's his last name Crenshaw? I don't have it in front of me. And I'm an idiot. So Lieutenant Commander Crenshaw made some very very funny jokes. And then it turns serious, and and to my mind turned to absolutely beautiful as well. There's a lot of lessons to learn here. Not just the left and right can still agree on some things. But also this Americans can forgive one another. We can remember what brings us together as a country and still see the good in each other..
