What's Causing Your Swarming Summer Allergies

"Dr lewis. Can you tell us why allergies or here. Why are people having runny snotty sneezing snorting things happening to them. I don't have a clue. But i can tell you. Some of the root causes in the pray people can figure it out. Yesterday is doing a consultation with katharina. And she's very interesting lady and she was talking about the different immunoglobulins and she's asking some incredibly brilliant questions. she's very very educated and she was talking about the immunoglobulin a g e etc etc. And she says well how come this. How come i said. Let's let's boil it down. Because i'm good at that for example What happens is and we'll talk about all kinds of things coz normally do Most of the time. It's microbiome induced inflammation. That means you have a gut flora. That's not what it should be and it can to a very large degree disrupt your metabolism which can cause weight gain folks if you're five ten pounds overweight or more you have despite houses. Gut inflammation The tendency toward well allergies if nothing else are histamine reactions or asada kane storm and what happens is and she was asking. Well why do we have this The problem is it's normal for the nutrients as you digest to pass through the line of your intestinal wall and that's called epithelium But what happens is we have most of us have low stomach acid not enough digestive enzymes because of the interference with the heavy metals and plastics and pesticides. So we don't get Complete digestion then. The partially digested food. What happens is it seeps through the epithelium and since it's only partially digested it's a molecule that your immune system doesn't recognize and so it starts putting out antibodies or immunoglobulins against this and it it detects it so to speak as an intruder And thinks it's toxic and baiter and that's where the antibodies come

Harry Kane Tells Tottenham Hotspur He Wants to Leave

"The news breaking in the uk skysports reporting. Joel's harry kane has told spurs. He wants to leave in the summer. Don he's been confirmed now by by people at the club. The hurricane is now officially handed transfer request but made donna. Livia where he wanted to leave. The cemetery was hoping that the club will go. There could be a quick transfer. Hopefully being all done before the start of the euros which is obviously very ambitious and very optimistic but we intend signs before in what hurricane. We're seeing certain interview saying let's see where i am next season. Let's hear the end of the season. One gonna do next. Those kinds of signs are maybe before i think. He's lost patients in in in waiting for trophies spurs maybe not fitting for everything that is given to the club. The club has giving him back teams around him that could go and win and challenge trophy china's premier league titles and others. He came very close. Many times lost all those finals. And maybe now he felt it was better fame to move away from spurs and continuous carrier. Some words let's money. Let's talk contract yours. How much is he going costs. And who can afford him so hurricanes got three years left on his current contract. Uh spurs he turns. Twenty eight at the end of july and the price is pretty straightforward. I think he's one hundred and fifty million pounds. This is why it is the problem our weekend and his agent with harvey's right don't want to send to any other english clubs no rival clubs the only idea for them if they were to go and it's someone could pay. That fee will be only to a foreign club and again abrode. There's not many clubs right now. We can afford became the g. Probably one of them. I guess by an munich you really wanted to. But now we live on skiing team run madrid if they can get the money together maybe one. Oh wait for erling haaland for example. Don't have the money for sure right now. So options are limited outside of the uk and in the uk. We know that she made contacts with hurricanes agent. But it could be. A problem is i. Don't want to sent to them.

How To Deliver A Course When You Havent Delivered A Course Before

"There's a ton of continental though and how to put on a course. But i mean just delivered one. I'm with at all still fresh in my mind. I'd like to show what i know now that i didn't know a few months ago if you want to create course but the prospect of it feels slowly overwhelming. Let me break it down into manageable sections the idea build up and the actual event to his comes to when it relates to the idea. You have to know your overall audience. Whatever your topic you have to be clear on the change you believe your students can achieve by studying it. There has to be a clear outcome for them. That they'll miss out that don't attend. Then you have to build the course around what you stand for you make it far easier for people to sign up for your course when what your delivering a line to what you stand for. The flag already. Put an the sun and a known for deviating off into a completely different space. Make selling your calls that much harder to find a way to make it relevant timely as listen in course content in the space people already know you for find a way of tough it into the coach. Zeitgeist to make your topic more timely. For instance you. The media month of learning centered on helping people find momentum in the content marketing and kane as it did offer year of not backs frustration and pain. Now here's what's relevant to the buildup to build an audience before you even think of delivering. This is the most important point if you invest time and effort into the structure kontinen delivery. But you don't have a subscriber base. This is an audience that already received and engages with emails from you. You're facing an uphill struggle to get people to commit. If you have an old him you've built up nurtured and can reach out to it. Becomes far easier for them to say yes. With the youth april you the media month of learning the audience number sixty eight paying attendees and they paid either two hundred or two hundred fifty pounds.

Paddington 2 Breaks a Rotten Tomatoes Record

"I am going to be taking a look at films. That for whatever reasons audiences just either didn't connect with or simply just didn't enjoy them as much as the critics did and there is a lot that separates the opinion of critic and the average moviegoer as the average moviegoer is really just looking for an experience. That is enjoyable and entertaining and on the other hand. A critic is essentially going into a film with a checklist of things to look for and in order for a critic to consider a film good. It really has to satisfy a lot of preconceived notions so as we will see in the next segment. It is very hard for critics to see eye to eye on a film in fact it is pretty much impossible to do. So but one exception to that rule was believe it or not. The film paddington to when that film i came out in theaters in two thousand seven enjoyed the longest period of time where a film on rotten tomatoes had both one hundred from the critics and the audience. Now time that has changed it now has an audience rating score of eighty seven percent which is still incredibly high for rotten tomatoes but probably the most surprising thing about that movie is it still has a one hundred percent rating from critics and for those of you wondering if you have this film confused with something else nope. It's the film about a teddy bear with rain coat and a little red hat. That film is rated higher than the godfather and citizen kane.

Turn off the podcast now and come back to us later so folks a minute ago. This islands is passed. Let's get into it sean. Overall what did you think of the film. I was pleasantly surprised. I've see reviews are widely varying. And i feel like your acceptance of this movie will is just a litmus test of your feeling about zack. Snyder's vision for these characters in this universe. Like i did not like batman versus superman don of justice even though i lost saying the title For the first time. I saw it and i was like. Oh this is a silly mess gets the characters. Wrong ivory watched it since i re-watch last year the slightly longer ultimate cost. I liked it a lot more. I'm not sure why accepted it so much. I guess the main thing it was is that without expectations. The first time i saw it. I think the first many what's off. They went in with expectations. And so that. Set me up nicely for the snyder costs. I knew what i was getting into. Yeah i actually. I did enjoy it. I was surprised. I would enjoy i. I was convinced was not going to be. I think because expectations were low for me and it was four hours but surprisingly saw confession is i have never watched the original theatrical cut of justice league in one sitting because always fall asleep like i slept through parts of every every time i've watched it and i have after watching a couple times mostly on airplanes. Were the were free and on demand. I was able to get but in multiple parts and i thought it was terrible and so this movie was a huge huge huge upgrade

Facing Pressure, Biden Administration Scrambles to Shelter Migrant Children

"By the administration scramble to shelter migrant Children. This is in the New York Times this morning, and in fact, the border crisis is real. It is metastasizing it is getting larger every day. Facility don't exist. It's worse than it was under Donald Trump at any time because Joe Biden and his team want illegal immigration, they do not want it to stop. They wanted to continue. And that is because they're making a calculation. I heard it yesterday and my long seminar for Stanford Students with Ron Brownstein, Ashley Parker, Lonnie Chan, Ron Kane and Ben Ginsberg. Democrats do not want to close the border. It's a long game. I think they've made a mistake. It turns out in Florida that the refugees of violence and the refugees of socialism turn into pretty good Republican voters. So that doesn't worry me. The fate of these Children worries me. The fate of these young adults worries me the fate of America's reputation in the world because there is no way we can do other than Release people were going to be so we're gonna be overwhelmed because you need to build the wall and you have to keep people in Mexico and then they stop coming. When you open the wall and you said, Come on in, and we'll wave everything and you can claim immunity and we'll teach you how to do it. They come Who wouldn't When you

Are we going to meet our vaccination target or what?

Are we going to meet our vaccination target or what?

"Hello this is karina. Cost a daily podcast. All about the coronavirus. I'm health reported teigen thailand physician and journalists dr norman swan. It's wednesday the third of march and norman. We're already more than a week into our vaccine. Roll out here in australia. Which makes us old hands at it now but there were reports over the past few days. That strategy hasn't quite met the targets that i was expecting to in terms of numbers. Vaccinations delivered in this first week. And we've got a pretty big target for october as being sort of the end of the roll out the end of the first big sizes of the rollout. What are some of the issues that have cropped up. I mean it's such early days. It feels a little unfair to stop critiquing the performance when we're on the awakened but what are some of the issues that have been identified as maybe slowing us down a bit. So far rove is clearly been a major cities of hiccups with the commonwealth rollout in aged care. As we've been saying in current cast in fact the main game is boorda. Workers airport workers flight crew and hotel quarantine workers and what we should be doing but we're not as their families in households. So that's the main game securing our borders. And doing that hyper quickly. And you've really got to do that with the vaccine because it's going to take you twelve weeks to complete it with the astra and it's not going to be as good coverage with the with the new variant possibility so there's been a cold up in aged care because the commonwealth doesn't run anything have his own services therefore they've got a contract they probably should have contracted it to the states. But they've going into private providers and been cups which have been well publicized so it's to take the commonwealth a bit of time to get their act together and also some of the states have been a little bit slow so this combination of supply of scene. But also as marion kane or imply. Just today the bookings haven't gone quite as quickly as they imagined. And they could cope with more bookings. And i think there's been a hint of that in some other jurisdictions so people have got to come forward when they're booked and have that but around the world there has been a problem with people. Not turning up for bookings people don't turn up for their appointments and that means that you have a system in place where you've got people on standby people that you can take a. We've got jobs over. can you. At five o'clock in unexpectedly get your vaccine. So we saw we had the new south wales primary gladys and yesterday criticizing the maybe lack of communication between the states and federal government. Is there improvements. That could be made there. Probably and the minister of sought yesterday to have a press conference which is probably in part induced. By the new south wales premier having criticized the federal government for not being clear with the doses. And how they're going to arrive. I mean i think some of the surprise here is that if i had a long time to develop this. And it's still not clear how the next phases are going to be rolled out how people are going to be told what booking system is going to be like. Gp is still not clear how they're going to work into it. They've had their letter saying they've been accepted as a as a center for you know the practice to deliver vaccines but even then the ph primary health. Networks are often not clear whether or not the four thousand six hundred practices are indeed the ones that will end up doing it. So there's a fair bit of uncertainty another area of uncertainties that third pretty good administration stopping doctors commenting on the relative efficacy of vaccines. Because they're calling it. Advertising saying the vaccine come to my practice sits behind that there's a lot influx. We'll get our act together. We're good immunizing country. People will come. Forward is just that. We don't want to lose momentum.

"No pace about game. The the goal came about from a deflection created. Very let let. got a little bit in the second half or not say a let better, but quite frankly. As a spectacle of two of the bigger teams in the Premier League in England, there was an utter embarrassment. Stevie. Craig mentioned. You can't help but think where they were a year ago with a now. And what lies ahead I? Mean they're clearly plans you. Aren't going to perform. Jersey Marino on current on current evidence. Well. Actually the same, the same group of players, really one performance at the end either. Fact since they've played the not Champions League final. "Videos of all this too and they would do all that and we would just celebrate each other and one of the roles that we had was. There's no we would always have ground rules and everything we did something. 'cause if you know about kids and siblings they will start to roast each other and it gets real negative real quick from always had ground rules. I was like every like if someone's performing in the talent show you have to support them. You gotta be positive so we would let them be creative. That was number one. I would say number two Talk to them. You know kids loved the talk. They just want to be hers their long ask stories where they just keep on talking. Let them talk because they're not going to always. WanNa talk to US okay. We're going to get older one day. Like they are today and I gotTa begged them to call me especially my brothers It's say let them talk and ask open ended questions at after school. Sometimes they come home. I will make a little snack and I would just ask them like deep questions about their day. Their friends their kids drama. Because you know kids always got some type of soap opera going on you own in the world right so let them talk and let them express themselves and then the third thing I would say is validate their feelings like kids have emotions too and so even when they're feeling sad and you know if they're filling a type away that you don't agree with the you don't have to agree with the whole space for them to have those feelings because it's important and I think it's so important. I had validate the children's feelings and let them know it's okay to feel you know it's okay for you to feel the way you feel because those are your feelings and they're valid even if I don't understand them I mean I want you to be sad. I may not want you to be depressed. I may not want you to be you know on confused about your sexuality because that's stuff that comes up to but it's like it's okay for you to this is a safe space for you to share anything with me. I always try to tell my siblings. I want you to feel comfortable coming to me about anything and I think sometimes parents say that and they mean it but then when they come to boss real shit you like got David I get it but as such if we want them to share. I think we have to hold. Space vessel three validate their feelings number. Four one of the things I did. I did my best to make them feel like individuals and it was a little challenging with you. Know Two boys and two girls but I did my best to try to take them on dates so we have what I would call boys days where I would take the boys out and just do stuff with the boys and so we used to go like it was so fung a out would pay money to get those long back we will go to Barnes and noble and we would just go read books and do stuff like that. I will take like Hershey Park and we do stuff you know me and the boys whatever they WanNa do it just is all about them and then the girls I will take them out. We go to the movies we go get mannies and peddies or go to Dorney Park and we do stuff just for them individually and I felt like allowing them to just feel special. I feel like you're like I was raised my dad. He was my first date like my dad. My sister and I on our daughter for a daughter. What is it daddy daughter dance and so I wanted them to feel like you're special. You don't need to get validation and you to get a date in someone to pay for you outside of the House. Unity filled that at home. Because it's so important. You know so my Dad. When he the way he showed up in my life it may have very high standards for men in general. So you can't just come to me like red lobster youthful special. My daddy used to do that. Okay my complete array lobster so what you do you know like that little my bonus of mosaic. I remember one one Valentine's Day our upset because nobody gave me gifts and then he was like come on. Let's go to dinner. What be like little bear and like I still think about that moment to this day and I was so happy I was smiling because I my little brother did the same for his daughter and I was just like over the moon like I'm always here for parent. Parent Child dates caregiver. Child dates all all the way because literally that time. Even if they're like in the moment I was like. Oh my gosh. This is embarrassing. My Dad's yet with later. It looks like when somebody came up. Okay but exactly exactly exactly and the last thing I'll say is Number five is documentation. I cannot tell you how much I doubt on my family and my siblings nerves because I was like the dedicated Paparazzi. I had my digital camera from Walmart and I would document everything. Okay I would document holidays. I have videos of them. They're teenagers now but I have videos of them when they were like toddlers and they were just so funny and just telling jokes and I have all these videos and I used to get on their nerves with exercise to always have the camera face but let me tell you how many times these low you know. What's reoccurring? Can you send me pictures of me when I was a baby? Can you say we one video and so documentation? Those are priceless moments. You cannot get back so document everything. Keep it on a hard drive. Because you know if you move relocate or put it in the cloud you don't WanNa lose it over the years and so I've noticed that even outside of my siblings other family members will come to me especially when get older like my grandparents are now gone but I have videos of them so when people miss them they always come to me because they know unlike the family. You know journalists. I'm the one that archived all that and it's just priceless moments that you can't get back and you can always just share them with your family in the future and it's just so special. I was A. I'm going to just circle back. So did number one is let them be creative number two yes never to talk to them. Ask Open ended questions number. Three is validate their feelings. Number four is take them on dates. Make them feel special and a number five is documentation. I I hope all guys got that because I really as she was speaking about it I was just thinking about how. Yeah all that stuff definitely just makes a difference. I think our parent our guest last week. Dana was talking about how in Char- Tyler sometimes will have her tantrums and she's just like you know when she has her. I might go get your feelings ashes like I just give her space like we get upset when kids are throwing their tensions but they're just expressing themselves and I just want to feel like you know you can't express yourself and I'm going to be like okay. I understand and then you just help them figure out how to do so in a way. That's not you know. As long as they're not hurting themselves to express their cause they're going to grow up and be able to express themselves in my son my son with peeves though tantrums all the time like he lau but like his screen is crazy but it was the other day he just came upstairs and like. I was like what's wrong. He was like I'm upset and I was like well. Why are you upset things like because my friend is gone and like I literally for him to express like he's missing his highlight able to to vote the lies there his feelings and I just? I'm so happy because I'm like I couldn't do that. That has a lot about you and your husband is incredible for your baby to be expressing stuff like that. Like that's another thing I would add is like the worst thing you can do is tell a child. Oh don't cry especially the boys is always. It is okay to cry. It's okay for Mindy Carla. It's okay because if you don't get those emotions out there that's why we grow up and we had these hard and cold men that want to express themselves because we haven't held space for them at home you know. And they're in their here and the development to do that. It's okay to let that stuff out is healthy your. I've really do not like I think it's comes from like the origin especially in the black community. It's like boyzone cryer. Big Boys don't cry. Don't cry. You're a big boy now and that it's like people are allowed to cry. Don't cry that's why I love that movie inside out like at the end they did all that and at the end it just. The girl just needed to cry. Sometimes you need to cry to get that ow and then you're able to bring yourself down in like okay all right now. I know I can do this. Like off together okay. So we'll let you comment like whit insulate. Just you know key lesson like things that you did for your siblings. I WanNa know like what are some things you're probably going to do as a parent like just kind of now that you know you're like okay. I think I I want this. Now what are some things you think you're going to do with your child after of Heaven Yes well let me just say I am so excited for motherhood and we've been trying to pregnant girls so I am. We are working on manifest in our baby. I am so thrilled about motherhood. I love kids and I would just say you know. I think I used to think that I would be like a very strict strict mom but I think now with having my siblings. I'm going to be an open minded mom like I just WanNa make sure that I you know. Not The you know on what kids sprains. Our parents used to say back in a day. Like I ain't I ain't a little friend right like I do. Want to be their friend in the certain regard. But obviously we'd have the you know the parent child relationship that we'd have respect. They are but I think for me. The biggest thing is you know kinda letting go of expectations and letting them grow into their own personal. Because the way I look at it you know our children come into the world as spirits on their own journey with less. They have to learn. So I've realized with my siblings like I can't say them from everything. I equipped with the tools but at some point I had to let go and so letting go has been a great a tough but beautiful journey for me with my siblings. You Know I. It was very challenging for me to move all the way to California from Philly but I was able to put my three younger siblings in a boarding school. My grandmother and I put them in a boarding school. Because my mom wasn't home and I moved away and it was such a huge that for me but I had to learn how to let go and how to trust the the lessons and the tools that I gave them through their upbringing in the lessons in tools that they've gotten from their parents and our grandparents and things like that and so I think that's the biggest thing is like. How can I support the soul? That has incarnated Indus World. How can I support them on their journey forward and in the last thing I would say is you know? I've been really really thinking about this as I prepare for my child and as much as I'm going to be obsessed with this little person that I bring to the world I am also then have to realize I want to realize that they are not mine like they are literally here for a sole purpose so I think sometimes when you when you take ownership of Your Katie. Like this is mine. Didn't get into co-dependency things. I want to make sure that healthy relationship with them. Why can support them and being a healthy individual? That does not need me. I don't want to make my existence dependent upon my child needing me you know. I think some people are are so afraid of that. Their child not needy. And I've seen that like witness where some people have a hard time coping especially when the child leaves the mess. Have a hard time coping when they do because they just they. They need somebody to need them. Sony. Because now we're getting into parent health and child because they should be kind of allow beats explore and just make mistakes on their own. No really feel like depend on you accepted. Thank you.

"Toys is a maybe that was why he wanted the baby. He liked the baby that was in the movie because when the movie came on he was I. I gotta get my baby got. The baby came downstairs and was like showing the you know the movie on the movie but I realized I said that's why he wanted to be he saw. This is toy and literally that was asset just Like just giving him this base. I was like you know what that could went so laugh at. We could invite me and put it back. He would have been upset and confused. Why did they take this toy? How come they wouldn't give this to me? You know? And who knows how that would have impacted growing up? If if he you know so choose make decisions like I think so. I think we really need to be open minded over talking about how can raise a happy child. Come from a place of hurt and pain. Can you tell us a little bit about second? Tell us about your childhood. He says you know what the thing is Elissa I. It's so funny because oftentimes I know when I was younger I used to think that when I got older I would like be released from my childhood. I kind of felt like Oh when I get grown route. Become an adult like everything's going to be roses and sunshine and so sometimes. I'm like Damn Hope. Can I cut your pockets girl? Are you okay? I'm like I know we do. Let me make sure I wanted to be throwing words around but I but I you know I got open house. I'd Dan I'm still talking about my childhood and I realized that we also have that internal child needs love right and that needs attention and affection and so. I often talk about my childhood even to this day because one based on what I went through like. I shouldn't be here today. You know what I mean and I'll talk a bit if I went through but I shouldn't be here today and I also realized I became an adult that. Oh No as you get older. That child doesn't just disappear like it comes up even more for you right and I realized that the older guy I was dealing with symptoms from my childhood and so I was raised in an abusive household Mom was physically and verbally abusive and she was also in and out of jail. And so my dad. My bone is dead. He raised my siblings. And I really you know when my mom was away and so for me the thing about it is I thought for the most part. I felt that my child who was normal. It was kind of all that I knew. You know as you go and dysfunction. You'd think Oh everybody's mommy leaves you know a couple of times a year and they go away and you go visit them and like I was used to going to prison and writing letters and getting those collect calls or the calls from prison of that. That was my norm and so. I didn't realize how dysfunctional it was until I got older and I was like. Oh this isn't normal like I didn't have a normal upbringing. This was abnormal. And there's a lot of pain and a lot of hurt and a lot of things that I dealt with that I thought were just me? I thought I was just you know messed up and it was like. Oh No. This is a symptom of the hurt. The pain scars that I had experienced when I was younger. That's NS crazy set. Like you mentioned and talk about the dysfunction. Seems normal as a child. You just made a really good point that you know. It's not for some of us. It doesn't hit US until we get older if it does at all Some people are still feel like. Oh you know I was fine and we see that sometimes apparent debates where you know especially when people are talking about white while I was yelled at but I turned out just fine and then some people are like. Are you something right? You brought that up that that's a good point. Yes so wild about like so when you know dealing with that like coming into. Kinda grown up to that dysfunction. What happened when you said at that point when you were kind of thrown into being you know raising your siblings yes so I have seven siblings and when I was let's see I was eight years old? That was my my first sibling. My I guess. My parents like their first child together. that was when she was born and so. I remember yet eight years old. I remember my mom being locked up after the baby and I remember my sister and I and my day like we were all just kind of bringing it together taking care of the family because mom was away and then I remember. Let's see I'm trying to think of all the different dates and that was kind of like a back and forth thing like this. Is I remember my mom going away? Ever since I was eight so it was like back and forth from eight years old up until I was about like Grad school girls so this was like a long journey and so all throughout that time you know. My little sister was born eight years older than her and then about. I WANNA say. Could you got a math? I'm trying to figure out the age of the other. Siblings were born years later but I have three additional siblings that I helped raise and for me. It just kind of became natural. Look I was one of those kids in school where or have to go home. And I can't go out with everyone else because I had to go home and make bottles and change diapers right or act to go home in college right after. Go drive home during the weekend. Because my mom's away my siblings I want to provide some sense of normalcy for them. You know I want to provide them with some hope. Hope and inspiration because you know. My Dad passed away a month before I went away to college. My Siblings didn't have my dad and didn't have you know stability at home. And so that was my big thing was like. How can I inspire my siblings? I was you know how it is when you have siblings. It's like oh my gosh. So annoying they get on my nerves. It was like that for a long time until I realized. Oh they don't really have anyone else. I think it was when my dad died. That was when I realized. Oh I have to step up big time and if I'm not there for them who's going to be there for them who's going to be the stability they need. You know who's going to provide the stability the and you aren't nowhere near close to home but it wasn't like home with like you know thirty thirty minute drive. It was a little it with a low drive. Oh man so literally like 'cause you talk about having your child you didn't really want to say he didn't really have a child while everybody was going out and you know doing the poll maybe. Dial Party. I'm just being back then. You were as taking care of your siblings in how wooder some things that came to mind as you you're doing. Was there ever a point when you're like oh.

"Stopped worrying about what other people are because like he grows like Jesse nuts. He has something to say. And I'm going to listen to it. So once I started lighting giving that space to express himself I found that he actually was happier because we all need to release from time to time so I knew in that moment that wasn't happiness so I feel like happiness in a child is just simply a a sense of inner peace. Just a sense of peace inside. What do I mean by that? I mean there may be days where things get raw. There may be days where know the world is just completely against them. We're you know they're being torn apart but on the inside they are content on the inside. They are shore assured of themselves and they are just. They're just protecting their P spill at peace. They know that things will get better to meet. That is more about happiness. So what can you do to make sure that your child? Is You know being happy. Let's start with one understanding now that we understand what is happiness like this to me. You want to understand. That's for me. You will also understand. My my view of happiness is not the end. All be all just the way that your your your idea of happiness for yourself. This may be different for me. Happiness me have my family happy and healthy for some people. Happiness them is that and plus you know being on an island in Jamaica. You know whatever your idea of happiness on one and I think about what is your idea of happiness for your child and then you want to model that so again. Once I got to that point I want my child to be have inner peace to know that things will be okay. I started modeling the way I reacted and and cater in carried him through his emotions to that so again giving him that space that giving him that crime let them know. It's okay to cry. How are you feeling now? Do you feel better okay. Great feel better and my cam kind of getting that. He's able to start expressing himself and he's able to sat right back in back on the horse and keep moving Also I think when we in addition to catering outside of catering to the happiness. I think it's very important that we are active in the happiness. You can't just be like oh all right. I'm going to make this change for like a day or like a week and I'm going to dip often. Just you know you have to be very consistent hunting. That happiness is a very reports consistent. Work just like require an unfiltered adult a lot of work for you to maintain your happiness for you to maintain your health the same thing you have to be consistent to maintain your child's how so. I cannot one day you know. Give him the space guy and then it changes because we're from the company or changes just because we're in the store or place to place or because. I have a deadline to do and I just wanted to get him on my face. No it has to be you have to be committed. You have to be consistent with that and providing that space. I also believe within that consistency. That time really comes in. I don't think we think about raising kids. I think we focus on. How can we set up structures for them to be happy with that? Be getting a good job so that we're financially Free and there's other Ramadan. Let me just say that goes allied money. I like Nice things but Outside of you know getting the Nice job buying things for your kids will about spending actual time. What about that? We get so caught up in the superficial day to day like what about to simply sitting down and asking your child open question. Just ask know how was your day. What happened in showing interest? Not being in your phone as they're talking being on Instagram scrolling or dot furling but really sitting on looking at them and asking them about their day. I think that also prints can create happiness because they feel like their word is valuable and what I realized is when kids are a lot of kids are expressing how field those just kind of like show Zion shoved wrong and it's just like it is what it is and I think. That's that's where you start to get the kid. Suppressing their emotions and starting to feel that sense of hopelessness. Like we'll nobody's going to listen to anyway. So I really think you know spending that time asking those questions. Showing those interest into your child is such a big deal like I just remember like sometimes I feel it from off over rob. We ask her questions. Jv On her own unlike really mean and that has got to where I have to check on it to lake sometimes came comes to me own. I'm working on top of you and I we say before you judge me like are you. Serious Ma'am I do a lot of like education on race on top of deal so I'll be doing a lot. Lotta edits so let me. Just say their idea. But sometimes when I'm working on at eight he comes up and he's wanting to talk to me. He's very very emotional very in touch with his feelings. It could be something like he's watching the lion king. He just awesome died. It will run up to the steps to tell me about it so I will. I really had to be like okay. Let's say listen the drafts. Let me put my phone down and turn my attention to you so that you know that I am here for you so I just want to mention that as well. I think another thing that we need to talk about when it comes to raising Raising a happy child is having an open mind. I think made me think about that. Was You know? Wait Thou situation when he announced when his you know his daughter. I'm going to be that clear. His daughter you know had heart basically her come now and she announced like I am a woman and a girl. She's that old but I just couldn't believe how many people were just that their reactions towards it and I couldn't outlet. Thank you know how this is this. Talk when we talk about when we about you know it sounds cute. Sounds cute like I'm GonNa have a happy child but just imagine how he you know. That girl looks happy in voted taken. I'm pretty sure things aren't perfect. But in every single She is up there smiling. She has a glow like no other action. Just be looking great and just think to myself like if she came out and he was just so close minded and didn't want to hear anything about that. How many of you have you know been told by something by your kid a. Maybe you saw them doing something and then you immediately shut it down because you know based off of what you thought is right instead of being open minded. When we were we went to disneyworld around standing in line and we were in I think it was a marshalls but I was standing ally. And my husband was a he. And CAIN was adamant about getting his toy and I said okay you can get one toy you pick so firstly comes up with a firetruck. I'm like okay. "Podcasters motivational speaker and founder of local girls. Pitstop and just how chatting about was like for her to raise stickling how she created space for them to be happy. Al Happiness on her back. Happy Memorial Day. Get your wine out-pizzas. Your and let's welcome back guys to so two of raising. Cain first off I just WanNa say thank you to everyone who listen to last the first episode actually of raising Cain Which was about no legacies mother where we taking from our parents? And what are we leaving behind as far as breaking toxic parenting and I was really excited to how many people listen to see how many you know to receive all the good feedback all the support. Thank you to everybody who shared. If you didn't get a chance to listen to a checking it out. Dana was absolutely amazing and a lot of things she talked about is definitely going to be relevant about today's topic. So let's jump on in so today we're going to be talking about raising a happy child and this came up to me because This came four because you know with may while May being mental health month Just the awareness of it and to just noticing how this pandemic has really been impacting mental health on just everyone mental health on parents as far as you know Some of us are managing working from home while also trying to be a fulltime teacher at the same time. Some of us are not working. So we're managing band trying to figure out how we're going to put food on the table keeping over our heads in pay bills and on top of that trying to stay in touch with you know. Stay on top of our kids work. So shout out to you guys. There has been a lot of criticism towards parents who are kind of dropping the ball. And let me just say those people? Because you know what you're doing the best you can and as long as you're doing the best you can. That's all you can do. Nobody has ever gone through something like this before. None of us could have been prepared for it literally at this point the bestest all you can do and I think you know. We're kind of losing that Simpson being sold judgy. But I've noticed that judgment has been going towards the kids themselves to and the kids themselves are starting to be stressed out. They're starting to eat the press. They're getting agnes anxious and just restless altogether so I wanted to focus on the idea of happiness came up because I was like how can I raise just a happy child? As a matter of fact you know I will go back even further so when I was working in schools. I had a lot of students of different ages. One of the school was elementary school. And I remember on this Particular Day. A girl came up to me. She was in first grade. And I remember telling me that you know. She never felt happy. She said that every day. She wishes that she gives you happy or she was never happy. And then after that preceded coming sometimes she just could wake up and die and my heart correct in that moment because to be told by a six year old a six year old. That is young. Y'All you saw that six year old. They feel like they are never happy. End The would not want to be on this earth anymore was just heart shattering and I remember thinking to myself like man like did I. I don't remember feeling like that at this age. I thought I had a pretty pretty decent childhood and While it wasn't the best not far there was never a point where at the age where. I just wanted to die and so that's what I'm talking about. I put it up on social media. Just kinda getting some feedback found. There are a lot of parents who were kind of concerned about bathroom. Their kids as well and ask me like what what what. What could we do as parents to make sure our kids are still in that way and I began to see that okay? I'm not the only bare hose. Kind of worried about this. Other parents are to other parents. Basically WANNA know. How can I raise my child to be happy? And just to prevent when prevent mental illnesses from arising or not even just mental illnesses but just protecting their mental health. Now I want to say that. It is normal for kids to be sad some days. Sadness is normal. I don't know if you guys ever seen that will be inside out a love at me because you know I remember throughout the whole thing was about keeping her happy and then any and you realize that she had to cry in order for her to to move on and to be happy what. She was poor per suppressing that Lucius killing her inside. So I I WANNA say like being sad is completely normal but when you have a child who is for days on end like these and date going into weeks months. Feels like you know hopeless. Restless doesn't really want to do the activities that they're used to doing then we have a problem in. That's when you're kind of you can be concerned and I think I do think the groundwork can help some mental illnesses. Just kind of come and go but I do think that there are things that we can do so let me go back to you know before I had my son I was thinking to myself would is agile. I think we need to start there. What is a happy child for me? When I first had my son I thought I happy child was just you know a to baby that sat there and smog all day. A Happy Jiao is not one not crying all the time you know. They're sitting there entered Google. They're getting lane. You're looking cute Mary thing. And that's that that that to me. That was happy and I think it's not only just meet. Society puts that in our minds spell that happy baby and hear from adults. There is like Oh. They're such a happy baby and they probably just seeing that baby for like a good fifteen minutes and babies dot cry now for me. I was anxious about that. Because my if we would go by that definition my`son was not happy. In fact I said cried a lot a lot lot and in anybody who knows me personally who has heard my son cry before his cry is like a screen piercing scream and so that kind played Maya motions because here. I'm thinking that I have child. Is this you know again this baby. That's not crying like that. They're smiling all the time. And here's my child. Who is alive so that kind of got me interested in? Sometimes I would even go out of my way to you. Know kind of just sigit stop beguiling. While I was just stop crying it will be so anxious a realize like how can I make what is happiness if I am? Suppressing my son's emotions is that really happiness. Is it really happy that I'm like kind of forcing them to kind of like training him to not cry in that expresses emotions and to just sit there and hold them in and fake a smile? That really happiness. No it wasn't and literally at headed check myself and at one point I decided you know what? Why Matt Lamb give out okay? So why he's crying and I had.

I think everybody's kind of trying to figure out motherhood figuring out Black Motherhood is well. Ns like some things we stumble on some things we could lay foundations because she laid a foundation. That is you because you are definitely a lifelong learner. Like I remember you started talking. I quit your job. You quit your your your full time job to start your business. Which is like that. Some people would never take that step and then after that you decide you like. I think I'm GONNA be be a Dula Up. Want WanNa try and do a Dula training like Dag like she out here. Learning everything live alive like she by Papa with a medical degree next year. I don't know but you always buy out here like really taking the training in learning so that you could just and it's not even just for you is so so you can help your community as well like you have a good community of mothers right now. with your toddler dates which was really cool because quarantine was. Corentin like you know. Some people aren't in the mood to pick up new things. But it's definitely worth doing because things are not going to be the same after this so it's like it's good that you are lifelong learner in. You're you're you're constantly pursuant because that's the you still be doing meetings and stuff like you're still pursuing things when some people have kind of fell into a rat being at home but you're going to be adapted we'll be. I do feel why in the first couple of weeks that apparently in a new home invasion. I have not really been on my phone account. But I've got my own thing right now. I'm still against the LEGWORK that I should be so I I understand. People not doing things. They now occupy in the court. It's okay tuna. You know the first couple of a big adjustment for a lot of people I I'd come out of this had started a business or but if I child much longer my how much longer. Ibm This not. Because we don't know when this kid right you know and I don't WanNa been one of the big six months from now and it's like wow you know. Like you need to finish things in that was like Kinda Hammer on Especially millennials and it's like at some point it's like this is not working. You GotTa let me. Just drop this and I feel like that's a big problem for a lot of people. Now who are in these positions that they don't like their jobs. They hate their relationship day because druthers mentality. We don't put anywhere you know. It doesn't suit me actions yet. But you're not gonNA make you. You know I feel like that's your parents really play into. Your mom did for me but no you started even though you know you might afford to player. Who wanted to all? I know you need to be adopted and I believe his need the city but let me what I want to open. It was funny I was somebody was having a live on the news talking about you know keeping making sure. Kids are a healthy and active and she was like a deer. Black mom yet. Black daughter does not have to be in dance Activity she can do other things in our describing. There are so many times I get kids. Come in not want to be there at all. They're like my mom but it's not something year page about realistically. I'm into waste money. I don't know everything upholds because what Meco with Valerie and when I tell you I'll put on misty copeland videos and she has been in my living room for three straight days wearing out the issue. I feel like when we come around. Mother's Day we often reflect on our motherhood in also may be the way we were raised. And so I wanted to ask you you know. What was your relationship like with your mother. I know you touched on a little bit like your mom was. I started this. Finish it you know. Would you say that you and your mother were closed with you saying like we were kind of okay What was that like? I would say near my mom clue. Oh should I like? I was anything that I wanted to do. Creatively all wide endeavor Mama by the hundred. She's trying to help me figure out how to do it. Me and my sister you know like okay well we just third and for is by how. I'm looking like Jada. Pinkett willow is conversation about things. They baby uncomfortable. I would never have gone so that you know. That's how our relationship with were. It was like okay. You're up here. But there was no edge lifetime thing you know how they. I'm not one of your little friends. There was definitely a for the demarcation whereby back okay. Prn Portable your dream to an extent. Yeah but if or is like okay I'm ever you remember me and my mom. Every of the day I was never comfortable. I talk about okay. I liked the way him to call the house. Because my mom a crazy I wish more black MOMS would do that. I wish more MOMS would have conversations with their especially your daughters like I feel like conversations are had with sons about sex but there's not enough conversations have daughters and I think there needs to be that needs to happen definitely definitely I mean I like any intimate conversation. You know if I offer like married for thirty something years now and I was having around the house and I think a lot of parents. I don't know what's going on here. The idea is kids like we know that something's not right because when the nearby drama between India the able character speaker everybody. But you know I can do it. I just feel like I want to hear it down and be honest. You know why you don't have to tell me like you know what I thought his. Don't have to be left in the dark. Like you're you're protecting them to their detriment. Yeah I feel like there's like they try to make this like perfect but it's like we see we can see you ain't talking to buy you it again. Do by a lot of times. I felt like okay. We're doing I'm usually by nail with the adult by you know. We have Obama favors known to make your kids comfortable but I just felt like there wasn't a real lighting. Yeah Yeah love is crazy like you mentioned like you Najer adult urine adult. You kinda like process like this is what was happening. Do you feel like it was better that they didn't tell you all the details or did you feel like you want it. That would have helped. You feel more respected. I guess I WANNA say just to be pulled in to know because happening. I mean like my mom if I her in big only like only in nobody out naturally father and things like that okay great but I also like kinder gentler by you know mom head. No word no fell off your bike like okay. Let's put on your income. You know I feel like if I had a rather she would have been the type of mom to be like no. You don't have to cry your boy. We know that not true. You know just like he doesn't have she didn't have those type of by crying for you know my emotions that should have been able to let out especially especially at you know what I think. I've seen that come up on twitter a lot where people talk about like how talk about they call it. Post Post Slave Syndrome syndrome. And basically like you know how how parents some parents can be harsh on their kids and it as a way of protecting them in a sense might in holiday. Think that that may be a harsh new and telling you. Oh you don't need to cry crying boy. You know you're a big girl. You're a big boy. Stop crying or you shouldn't feel this way or just get up is like them protecting you into the railway honest is that really a form of protection babies like you said you want to get out exactly. So what imagine your relationship like no one like Phil? Anat had your relationship being with your child both of your kids at steps on the wall. I try to do a Lotta loving your and I hope to them. "Another thing that I knew I did not want to pass on the perfectionism. The perfectionism of parenting Like really pressuring by child to feel like they have to be perfect and they have to be the prodigy gifted all the I feel like it is the most. Obviously y'all on social media all talk like posting like how how. Jj can can read age to in this nat- dog or flash cards and all that and it's cold like you definitely should learning is is very important with some people are literally obsessed with having a genius. Kid It is okay to have an average kid. It is okay. If your child is not proficient advance prodigy. Everybody is obsessed with having prodigy. I see all the time whenever I'm teaching. You know there's a mom who's you know. China force her kid to do a trick that she obviously can't do and you know they they want them to be the dance prodigy and I'm like they're just not in that. That is okay. This can be that they just simply enjoy doing and I see it. Even in a education settings where their parents like? Y'All know lie when I used to give out grades. There are parents who are upset that their kids did not get an advanced great that they weren't Advanced and I think it got so bad to the point where the school actually took it away. They took it out. And then you know what we cannot no longer label. A child has advanced because other parents were complaining about that and I literally just sat there remembering like thinking to myself. I hope I'd never become one those parents because it just simply is not the is not that D. to me I feel like my son will. I've learned my son will do what he wants to do. When he is ready he did not walk before age want. I think my son started walking probably a month after he turns one that's when he started walking. Hey did not talk into well after two and now he won't stop talking and I had to understand that you know what this kid is going to do when he wants to his own time. There is nothing I can do and I'm not going to push it. I'm not doing all that. It is just not that deep. I am more concerned about personally. I am more concerned about much is being a decent human being. There seems to that that seems to be lacking. I'm seeing a lot of people who think they're prodigies and they're lacking intelligence and common sense and compassion empathy all that. I do not want that. That's not what I want as a mother. So you know the whole perfection. Idea of you know you have to be perfect. You have to be kid. Oh you need to bring home all as that was something that was drilled into the it was drilled into growing up like you you only have as a beasley named it. That's what you get. There is no see a seat is failing anything below that. Don't come home Even a B. A. B. was questioned. Why did you get a b? How come you didn't get a okay? You got as and bs but what is these. What are these BS? Why did you get that in? I realized look guys like two weeks ago. I was doing an assignment for because I'm in Grad school to be a therapist and I was working on an assignment and literally started having an anxiety attack as I was doing it. Because I've been kind of have logan trouble in this class lured. Let me tell you. Psychopathology is is not want to play with. It is not is not one So I literally like out here especially Dora quarantine trying to do this online learning which I am not good at doing that and I'm literally like I was getting like bees in usually pop as like nothing so I'm like sitting here doing this assignment. I'm having anxiety attack. I call my mom. I can't stop crying Literally I'm going to do horrible in this class will be and she was like my mom had to stop and she literally and she was like. I am so sorry that you know you feel this way. But it's it's just not that serious. Are you going to be like that for Kane and she reminded in this crate? She reminded me and I was like. Oh Yeah I had to go back like this is what I want. I was like I want him to be like this and this is why didn't so. Why am I doing it to myself? Now if I don't want to do is to my son. Why am I doing it twice out in? I realized I have to remember that. This is why because at age thirty. I'm up here about to cry about a be at age thirty and I remember being young crying about bees. I remember that and I told myself I would never want my child to feel like that again. So that perfectionism and that you have to be perfect child you gotta be top class. That's just not my priority. If so happens to do that. That is amazing. Congratulations but I just realized for me. That was not my priority. So those are two things shifting gears to the positively I will say there is definitely some things. I am absolutely my mom so one of the first things that I knew that was going to pull out in. Make sure my son had experiences. Mom's very big on experiences. My mom made sure that traveling was a priority. You will be going somewhere. You will not be sitting here. Billy only seeing the city you have to get out and you have to experience things. That's how my mom was and it didn't even have to be fired and have to always be outside the country. Sometimes we would just do a simple day trip to Washington. Dc and. I will go to the zoo where I will go to. The you know the museums out there. I remember we went to Baltimore. We went to the Black Wax Museum. Chosen the anybody any black kid. Every black kids should be at the Black Wax Museum at one point in life. I'm lead right here. But I remember her taking Taking their in that except was experiencing I'd still remember it. It's in my brain and that was something I wanted to pass on to my child so for Christmas every year. We do not do gifts we instead go on a trip. My son loves like my son doesn't even he doesn't ask for gifts. He's just excited that we're going to go somewhere. He just like. Oh we're going on a plane. The plane the highlight of the trip. Just but are we going on the plane? And I'm like yes like we're going on a plane and that was enough for me. Ask for nothing. He's not intimate cereal. Things he literally just wants to experience things with us and that is definitely something I had taken from. My mom and I am so grateful that she has done for me because I feel like that has shaped who. I am as a person in Parsley who I am as a mother. Another thing that I am so grateful that my mom has passed on to me is advocating advocate navigating anybody know gape America not that she is not a plane not to be with okay before we will be talking about Karen Online talking about Karen. All please carry what's manager whatever no. Pogo biggby wants a manager okay. My Mom will like sit there. Write letters when someone a business did does not do the right thing. I remember my mom coming up to school whenever the school we try to you know. Get in trouble for small things. I really remember in high school. There was a teacher who I'd on me and my bomb came up there. Like just shut it down in. Lilley was just not she. She just wasn't about today and that's difficult because some parents with that. Something are scared assistance. But my mom was just. She wasn't a person. I was scared of the system and that has transferred to me. Because I'm always advocate for my child for those no. My job has a speech delay so he has a IEP. So I really like fighting every day. I had to fight with his services because he had A. He had instructed that I felt like was not giving their all. Kinda half half behind in have a little bit and so I had to go. I was emailing Abbas calling in the other parent had been dealing with that for years but she didn't know how to do it but yoga knew how to do because she's gaping big daughter in so she found the email she went up there in. Beverly she got she definitely got new news this therapists of the child and I think we're to take that with me when he goes into primary school when he just kindergarten. I'm going to still have that advocating. So I'm so grateful that my mom passed onto me and that is something I wanna pass norm. Definitely passing onto my son because he is not afraid to advocate for himself right now so those are just a couple of things that I am super happy. I am super happy guys as I reflect that this is what my legacy as a mother will be in what was given to me so. I love to hear you. Would you guys think I want you to tweet me at Elissa? Be and tell me where some things that you're gonNA take away from your mom or what is something. You're not going to take away talk to me about it like maybe there is an experience that you had that was just like nope. I'm not doing it. Everything is learning experience so I want to know so tweet me at soliciting me and let me know your thoughts but before we move onto our interview. I want to prop up a bomb among for Noor. Who has mother black mom for nor at that in a little bit about her business so stay to quarantine has kind of caused us to lose a little bit of ourselves? We've been in the house not getting dressed. "What's up y'all welcome to episode one of Raising Cain the adventures of Black Motherhood? We are going to I. I in talk about like seat. What is your legacy as a mother? And what do you want to take away? We're also going to be propping up. An amazing black owned business support via black mother dead. We are going to be having a special interview by founder of wealth. Glow Dana Mad. And she's going to tell us about her legacy as mother and was she's taking what she's not taking how she is handling quarantine as a mop. Noor. So if you're ready to be a fun time get your wind. Chill sit back relax or Monday morning. It'd be listened on Monday morning. Coffee don't be invited by all right. Let's get it. Welcome to raising CAIN. This is the first episode and I am very very exciting because this is something that I have wanted to do for such a long time. I actually wrote it down in my vision board and I was been supposed to dispose. Do this first quarter. But I kept putting it off but you know. Corona Corona came through. But I am absolutely like amped because I am releasing the first episode on a special day like it is coming up on Mother's Day by the time he listened to this mother's Day would have been would have actually passed partly the Before if right but it's so weird like I literally just sitting here like I can't believe that a a mom like sometimes I'll just sit here and I'll just looking child in the leg. Yo you're really by like I have a child. I'm a bomb. Now it's insane. Tell me that you don't think about Tommy Nutritional. Just look at your getting ahead you or your kids like. Oh my God. How did I had two kids? Three kids work. It's five if you really about that life. How but nevertheless we are here in. I will always say like no. My son is a blessing. Kids are blessing. But you know. Let's be real like Black Motherhood Kimmy tasking on the mental health. Like it's it's definitely a journey. It's an adventure that had Ups and downs. It's scary to watch the news right now with the no we still have gone I know for me in Philadelphia Gun. Violence is pig. And that's something that we are. You know kind of thinking about as a black mother above thing that thing about his mother. Is You know if your child's mental mental health is okay at during this time this these are weird times for US guys. I just realized the other day that my son was stressed out stressed out from being home all day. So this is a lot of adjusting. We're doing but we are here in. I'm so happy to make this podcast. That just relative black MOMS out their mothers who are raising black children out there To just Kinda sit a little kike. Maybe a little learning bulow crying wherever this is definitely a time to fellowship celebrate. 'cause our day is coming up. Our is coming up in. Nowy may not be able to go out for Brunch. Which I'm very very sad. We are home and you know what is time is time for you know reflecting. It's time for gratitude. I know I am personally reflecting. As mother's Day approaches a reflecting on the topic of legacy I have been thinking a lot about my legacy as a mother about what you know is be passing on to. My son would some things. He's going to take away from me on a have a daughter will something she take a when she becomes a mother. And what will he take when he becomes a name? Ship should either one decide to become apparent? Because that's so we don't want to in. That is absolutely okay with me but you know just thinking about that like what will they remember and I wonder if other stock thinking do other people think about this and so the first episode. We're kicking off. We're talking about legacies of motherhood and I wanna like so you know what are some things that you hope to pass onto your out and what are some things you know you have been passed on to you in what or something. I don't even want this to come my way. So let's dive into it. I think it's very important that we are aware as parents as to what is passed onto us. Because you know there are some traditions. That are great. But I think it's also important to note that some things that are passed down so as can be considered toxic and I think as we continue as a generation come over starting to realize that there are things that we deemed as. Okay that are not okay now because some of us are not okay. I'm personally not okay. I'm still recovering from certain toxic situations. That happened to me as a child nine. Maybe some of you out there are Jau from real game. I think it's good to remind people that some people mother's Day is not a good day for some people. They don't have really shit with their mothers. Some people their mothers are long gone and soul to even think about what their mothers have done for them can be could just be a little triggering so I wanNA honor that first and foremost that if you are listening to this. I don't have a relationship with my mother or you know you lost your mother. That is I wanNA honor that and I honor if you feel like you know at some point you have to stop or maybe you might feel something of this in. It may spark something so I just want to put that out there so when I began to think about what was being passed onto me as a mother. I was very cautious about the toxic. Things that were passed on to me. It's important to note that I am so I love my mom and I am truly just inspired by her every day by her growth because for her to be a single teenage mom. It was not easy. Win It by herself. It was not easy Louis did the best with what she has but there was definitely things that I realized I did not want to pass on so one of the first things I knew I didn't want to pass on as for for my legacy was yelling. Growing up in my household was literally the primary source of communication ended. It kinda. It's getting a little better but it was very Very prevalent especially in my family. We if you come over to our house and we're at a family function it is allowed because we were literally yelling as we talking. That's just how this is how we are But think at some point when you are yelling at someone. It can be a little bit disrespectful. Who wants to be yelled at? I know I didn't want to be out at and want to be Biden's teacher not by Not By anybody you yell at me now. I'm just literally zoning out in looking at you like you're crazy because there's just no way. There's no way so I know for me. I did not want to be yelling at my house. Oh my child when Cain does his does this thing and when Kane Kinda snaps out investigations tantrums. Which is what a oral does or if you don't he's kind of just having a bad day. I do not want to yell at him at that moment and I found out the hard way because I did do this in the beginning of becoming a mother like it was just natural and I. I took notice that this is my natural thing to yell at people. Because that's all I know but I realized everytime I yelled at him. I was just making it worse like He. I would literally be like. Why did you do that? What is happening now gone off? I'm literally seeing him starting to cry like he probably wasn't even crying but when he did he was like crying like like stressed out super upset. And I'm like I didn't even do anything Yell Oh my Gosh like I did not. That was not my intention. I think yelling can be counterproductive. What is the lesson that they're trying to get? I think it's more effective win. If a child does something wrong you Kinda like Matt saying you gotTa Be Nice. You don't have to be like all timmy. You didn't have to do that math now. You could definitely be like now. You know you had no business doing it. Why would you do that? You can't do that because and just explaining why when I literally sit down and tell like okay. You see how you did that. You see how you spill water. I told you to put that water up because I knew you were gonNA be playing. That's why did it go ahead and pick it up. Pick it up It in literally he will do it. He will pick it up. He will understand in leg next time he will alert. This is motherhood people. These kids perfect literally learning as they're going like I'm still learning at thirty years old. Still learning so of course. They're learning so I just knew the yelling just it was not in. It's kind of belittling like I remember growing up Just when my mom would y'all like sometimes you know things will come out that she didn't mean words that she asked. I know she didn't mean to say came out. And it was very belittling and it kind of impacted my self esteem. It also impacted my confidence like kind of made me more like second guests. Maybe second guess myself or whenever I speak sometimes when I'm speaking I know I'm a little afraid to share my opinion because I'm still harboring bet that fear of that yelling in the belittling and I think that is the same for many many black children. Black millennials black people growing up because That's kind of the way we have been taught to parent and I really want to do away with that. I really say do away with yelling. I think bad we can talk. You can be firm but I think conversing.

"And they Greg from Gareth Southgate. Nate league of his own Harry Kane, let's get the reaction from gap Marconi and really not your reaction. But maybe more the reaction in England has it been measured. I don't know if you agree with the guy's not just a good result. But a pretty good performance to. Was really measured. I mean, I was I was speaking to to some colleagues during the game. Obviously are warm point England, we're getting relegated. So the the media world ready to go and pounce on them for going down. All of a sudden. You know, you get that. You you score off the off the throwing you get that late winner guard off the lie. And all of a sudden, they're the best team in the world. Again. What is really stunning in? What I haven't seen in many decades here in England is in Southgate touched upon it is the out connection with with the team between these players and the fans the the sort of relentless positivity that comes from the supporters, and is very evident that it gives them that it gives them a real lift as well as probably also the fact that south gate at least up front does have options. He does have dynamic players and everything he showed it though, substitution valley Sancho and lean guard each one of those guys contributing in their in their own way. I think there's still a whole bunch of holes to be picked in this team. But equally they have something special going on here. ESPN's Dale Johnson. Always interesting statistics. How about this one England's two one victory over Croatia today the first ever time in six.
