The Jean Claude Romand Case

"The winter of nineteen ninety-two thirty eight year old. Jean claude remind hardly got out of bed while his wife was out and his children were at school. He was languishing heartsick. The end of his affair with his lover karen but his relationship problems were the least of his worries. He had spent the previous two decades lying to his friends and family about being the doctor. For years he'd lived in fear that he might one day be exposed as a fraud. He had discouraged people from asking questions about his career claiming that he preferred to keep his personal and professional lives separate but the deception was getting more and more difficult to maintain sometime that december. Jean claude's wife laurent's ran into a woman whose husband actually worked at the world health organization. She mentioned a christmas party for employees and their families to laurent's asking if she planned to attend with sean claude. According to this woman florence look disturbed by the question. She murmured this time. I really should get annoyed with my husband. It's not clear whether florins confronted jong claude. About the party but either way. She was likely having doubts about his reasons for keeping her and the children away from his workplace. This wasn't her only cause for suspicion around that time jean. Claude served as a member of his children's school board shortly before christmas vacation. The board precedent. Trying to contact. Sean claude at work to discuss an issue with one of the teachers. He tried to look up. Sean claude's name in the world health organization directory but couldn't find it a few days later. He ran into florence on the street and mentioned it to her. She said she talked to jean-claude about it though it's clear if she actually confronted him even if laurent's wasn't starting to ask questions john claude knew he would soon be discovered if these close calls didn't expose him is dwindling. Bank accounts would a few days before christmas of nineteen ninety two. He faced even more questions. His former mistress quran invited him to come visit her and paris although he was probably no longer sleeping with her they had tried to maintain a friendship not long after they broke up she'd even given him nine hundred thousand francs to invest on her behalf. Secretly jean claude had simply taken her money and spend it instead. The two had a pleasant dinner together at first but at the end of the night. Karen dropped a bombshell. She wanted her money back as always john. Claude stayed calm in the moment. He promised that he'd get her money and give it to her. Shortly after the new year he told her he was attending a dinner party around that time and invited her to come along and pick up her check. Then karan agreed. She had no idea that behind his cool facade. Sean clod was panicking. Before i continue with jean claude psychology. Please note that. I am not a licensed psychiatrist or but i have done a lot of research for the show. The threat of financial ruin may be a precursor to violence particularly within families psychologists. Joseph salute has said that money and financial success and security are very closely tied to physical and psychological wellbeing and self esteem sociologist. Catherine van warmer examined a cluster of murder suicide shortly after the financial crisis of two thousand eight she wrote. Employment difficulties are pronounced in the backgrounds of the perpetrators in those cases. Interestingly around half of the family murder suicides were carried out by men with no known history of domestic abuse

"How chris stop hitting me. Personally bruce lee is in. He had his own mixed martial art a hybrid but he had his own. I would say so as not when i was younger. Never watched a lotta bruce lee films but i remember everybody talking about briefly but that is a format. Everybody loved when it came to any form of martial arts. He was the one that really put into the forefront of popular culture by using martial arts to to fight along with within. I love that type of style of film came out during that time as well too and a lot of other films followed that. There's that followed that kind of style as well. There's blood sport. And that's i feel about blood sport. We'll tie to tie tie everybody only when shouting in. And there's so many other ones the karate kid mr my yagi like. There's so many of them. That during that time and i think berkeley really opened that gate for them and the floodgate for them to be able to have that style of fell and also to have an appreciation for martial arts within film and television for sure and his style his hybrid version of mixed martial arts that he developed was called commando who amazing and i love that about martial artists they can go and make an adaptation of something from something else and then create. It's like bare knuckle. Boxing boxing started to started his bare knuckle. Boxing and then you have boxing and apparently now side note as counterculture bare knuckle boxing. Starting to come back as well to supposed to be like a really underground sport that people are really apparently watching now in wanting more of throw these counterculture knuckle box here knuckle boxing. So there. All these counter cultures that started as counter cultures and then we moved into something. Like you have cer. Boxing and people are going back to the counterculture because they find it really interesting. But i think you're gonna get that because they're getting more type of people and people are getting way more different types of knowledge education. Everything from being online be able to talk to each other's you're going to get all these amazing counterculture that are gonna come from all different types of sports x. Question for you. You've mentioned a couple of times. Do you think that that mixed martial art is counter culture or subculture. it's a counterculture. How so it started as a counterculture because his People weren't agreeing with it. It was so violent. It was a blood sport. So a lot of people in the beginning or people in general in the beginning weren't gravitated towards it and it wasn't a mainstream thing and that's why i was saying before in the media would not pick it up or make it mainstream because it was very counterculture very taboo. It wasn't taken seriously because it was so violent and then mainstream the people then pushed it in because they want to play like espn other places to pick it up. I would started as a counterculture. I would say a subculture of prize fighting to why then because the larger group is prize fighting. So you're more tie your boxing and ufc which was a prizefight in it but it was a prizefight fight that had its own variances. Its own interests. Its own belief structure. Its own rules. I definitely think it's a subculture. Because the larger culture that it was a part of was alive and well and it was operating within that. And it had its own little thing that they were trying to get to like you know to define it and then eventually became a mainstream. Well i think it started as a counterculture and then moved to a subculture and then became part of the mainstream. So i would say that in general the reason why i call it. A counterculture is because it was so violent that majority of people wouldn't have expected it as subculture because of the violence behind it and a lot of people and different ways of thinking there was no whole bars like there was no rules and that really doesn't sit with a subculture that is that's taken culture generally is taken from mainstream culture and then is adopted to its own but it is influenced by mainstream but has become. Its own so i would say that you've seen one hundred percent counterculture because of the violence but now it's now it's less violent compared to what it was so now obviously now because now there's regulation exactly and now it's and before too. It wasn't legal in many countries and in many states. Like right now actually in twenty twenty january fan france. Just illegalized have see if i'm going to pop into film again. I'm gonna pop and a lot of people know this film. This is a loved and cherished film by many so fight club. I would say not just in. Mma looking at blood sport and all those different types of films that have come out as well too but looking at fight club as being one of those movies. That's a classic movie that has taken mma and has style in it in it's kind of layered and trickled into the phone. Do they talk different fighting styles a fried club so in fight club. There's no rules in. I rule of fight club. You don't talk about by clem. First rule of see tell everybody about you. See there was no rules. And that's the same idea in fight club as knew of see. There's no holds bar and same idea that you do anything you wanted in this. And so what what the director would do and what. The people on the phone would do as well as look at low budget. You know ultimate fighting championship videos and reflected back into the fighting styles and the scenes that they decided to use fried club. I thought that fight club will be the first thing that would come to everybody's mind is film. But i was wrong when i asked other people that like emma may ever was like blood sport. Sport would make well. They're saying yeah. Bloodsport is to to people that who like the sopranos or godfather of film. Mma films Now you can actually watch now for free on netflixif by the way. Apparently i love. I love eighties. Action movies like grave. There's a bloodsport has like so many moments in it. Like when he gets the sand is like he's blind and it's so dramatic or when he does is like sexy dance. John claude van damme or his splits. And there's also another thing is john. Is john claude. Van damme on. Claude van damme hundred percent because of how he moved from bruce lee and then moved into doing all those other fighting films as well too so i would say. That's the one that probably popularized it in north america. You think i would. I would imagine. Now it's interesting. Because when i define mma in my head..

"Like that's always the big one street fighter is still there and heavily represented and then you get Miami area the Games I love like soul calibre tech and I loved the Namco fighters. but I agree like to me. People don't I mean get excited about street streetfighter anymore. Mortal Kombat. Lot People love that new the new ones and. Good on them. Yeah. No. They had some time in the middle there where like mortal Kombat four beyond where it was like, what are you guys doing? And now they're back. Yeah. It this. this the stocky series touches on the origins of of these fighting games than I. One thing I didn't realize. I probably knew it in the back of my back of my brain but. Never. Really thought about was that You know the the makers of mortal. Kombat originally wanted Jean Claude, Van Damme to be there. Oh my gosh. Yeah. They they wanted they wanted I wanted that they wanted van to be their their. Their. Face of one the. Right and so we wouldn't like they literally wanted John Claude van Damme to play himself in mortal combat because the blood sport and that would have blown my mind cause I love John Claude van Damme. Era, who did I loved him and you're telling me I get a video game. Was, John, Claude van Damme where I can control him right Oh God I can control him doing doing the the the the the patented junk, Claude, Van Damme, split, and into the Crotch Punch. It listen, and so you know, and so the you know the makers of more combat they they approached Janklow antion like, Hey, we want you to be the face of our game in all this and John Claude. Van Damme politely declines and so and so they're like, they're like, oh wait a minute. Now we gotta go back to the drawing board. So we'll just make a character that kind of looks like Jean Claude Van Damme he has young van Damme's moves, but he's not gene restart right? He's not Jean Claude van Damme and I think that was probably. You know one of the biggest. Nine commitments in video game history where. You have a character that resembles a movie star, but isn't the movie star but has all the same character traits. And we're talking about Johnny Cage here in. In the mortal combat, you know. Batting Order of characters and. You know. It's just one of those things where it's one of those. Nuances that never really. Comes up but you're like, wow, you know I really see the parallels in now knowing the back story. When they were making the movie, it was like they need to give vandamme to play cage not doing this right you know as like he's the only guy it's random basically, right That that was that was that blew my mind that they act had actually approached Van Damme in wanted him to play the character. and. Then he declined was like. Well, okay. We'll. Just we'll make cares anyway, right It'll be van Damme, but he'll name his name is Johnny Cage. Now if if anybody listening doesn't know who Sean Claude Van Damme is need to educate yourself.

"Is what you'll use your original hosted by and this is his last go around he says and as you know we have to believe that yeah everyone's you're well to or is there a farewell to arms will get you out she's and they are going to show the movie it's a John Claude van Damme movie how old is no surrender no anyway and it's also a live show right the common thinking right over and they'll stop and do a song in and I see some comedy and then they'll continue with the movie and film like an episode of mystery science theater but one I think it's interesting that the you when you said that but at least they gave you the honest answer them that that you're right that doesn't happen and and do do guys like you promoters yet get stuck on the hook when that kind of thing half course anywhere from we don't get any credit we get all the blame I don't I don't have any idea why you would want to do that so it's don't remind me seriously Hey I know pretty much they know if if you had if I had to cancel a show yeah all hell would break loose yeah yeah yeah but if an artist has to do it they got to do it and that's what happens and you know I would say that most of the time they're they're very they want to make it up to you they don't you know that if there's there's no money usually that is involved the size of whatever the advance marketing is an even and you know no an artist always wants to be there for the fans they really truly do so they never do anything like that intensely but you do sometimes get the you know like you know are appealing Stanley from Alice in chains but you know the cancel the tour because he hurt his back moving his couch yeah which you know yeah well I think obviously couldn't get office couch that's the thing yeah and now died on a secure downtown is kind of something like that with the does for you somebody enjoyed the camper van Beethoven cracker show one but I heard it was fantastic well I I members I've never seen camper van Beethoven seen crackers yeah they put on a great show yeah camper van bait van Beethoven years ago at the speedway allow it was it was great I mean it was just incredible yeah I got a few techs that night I was kind of you know coming out a new year's eve edition of the Commonwealth of natural January second and how do I get off my couch I hurt my back move in so you've got if you want to find out about all the shows that Derren and his associates and there's more we didn't get hardly the state room I'm not until ten well with your should you'll the state room the Commonwealth room if you just go to the state represents dot com they're all there yeah deer valley that you got out of the next summer I am I don't know what P. Rockwell is that is our club in Park City on main street in a couple years now mostly weekend music a little more regional and local acts but really find kind of speakeasy vibe right there where the old so I see the old Star bar used to be and actually Mrs fields cookies if you wanna go way back will usually be the least of their but it's right next to the brew pub on the top of the street map did you know that there is a tunnel underneath the main street apart city that goes from the Egyptian theater across the street and it was well and there's a and there's a I still use it well what the Egyptian theatre people have done the is there a so the fields built that night Debbie and think here what are smuggling cookies well they did she want to have to go to walk in the rain too you know yeah get your car which was up across the street from a cookie shop and so they built this tunnel and there's a room there and the Eckels theater has turned that room into a black box theatre the not vehicles which is usually the really underneath the stage issue I mean underneath the street when you go on in the tunnel together on the other side and it's and it's so there must be an exit from the other side I'm sure the fire people wouldn't allow it otherwise you think so but you use they'll they'll use their box office on main street and you buy tickets and you go to in the second goal not only what you brought some tickets to get what I did I did yes we have a pair of tickets to the sold out Jay and silent Bob shown nice yeah so you can just call up or down and how that works here and give us your email will get you taken care of yeah eight seven seven six oh two nine six nine six in random caller or random call random caller for a student and then you have shoot him again the shooter Jennings a pair all right and a pair to measure K. you decide who gets what all right or one day yeah know what you're hearing this on Tuesday morning that no parking is eight seven seven six oh two nine six nine six thank you Sir thank you guys I will see next month thank you for the music hello okay I'm married to a name change you know I thought it was Monday Monday by the munchies.

As Boris Johnson Pursues Brexit, All Eyes Are on Northern Ireland

"Off on in the times of London do you pay that as the coalition partner the Democratic Union party of Northern Northern Ireland do you P. opens door to new brexit deal for Boris Johnson in the Financial Times they are also speculating that perhaps the the brexit border will begin at the Irish Sea not at the border between Northern Ireland the Republic of Ireland and the guardians matte repeats the very same thing saying that the do you P. has softened its position and in the telegram Boris Johnsons to hold talks with John Claude Yoker in looks of the board and that is again there may be a deal out there that gets rid of the backstop for people understand that the gunners in United Kingdom is four kingdoms and developments drove the debate this week from the far north kingdom's Scotland where the highest court in the land ruled without a fact the prorogation was illegal and the southern most. kingdom Northern Ireland is the southern working them apparently changed their negotiating position what do you make of all this well talk about the backs talk in a minute first the sec the ruling of the High Court of Scotland is an interesting thing because I think what's underlying all of this is the fundamental political question who gets to rule who's in charge who has authority in America that is the constitutional majority there say the majority of the citizens as they are organized under the constitution Lincoln said famously a constitutional majority changing free lead with changes in circumstances in time is the only true sovereign of a free people. so so here's an interesting thing about Britain see Britain doesn't have the kind of cut it in the constitution but not the kind of constitution we have they don't have a document a four thousand words agreed and ratified by convention and then by the people that is unsourced Tate. at what they have is a bunch of big things that were done mostly in the course of disputes between the crown in parliament. that set up the sort of main outlines the British politics but there's no document for a court to refer to and say this law passed by the people because the the great features of the British constitution by the way are acts of parliament not the people. there's no document like that that I can appeal to and say the parliament did wrong here. right and and so that's just the way it works in a you know Churchill says once that that's been this has the added advantage of the British constitution is age custom and flexibility yeah and the and the disadvantages flexibility and and the advantage of the American constitution is coherence and and that clarity and strictness and those of the disadvantages to. so anyway. now the issue is that program is Boris Johnson wants to do one or both of two things right away. he wants to leave brexit on October thirty one one with or without a deal. or out and he wants an election now Alexian is going to the people and it's a it's a custom into how old thing see in America are Lexus our elections are fixed in time. two years every two years for the house every every two years for one third of the Senate every four years for the president right nobody has any choice about that that's constitutional in Britain the election may come at any time. international regarded that as of wonderful advantage because when the parliament gets deadlocked or there's a mass then you can go ask them again. and so first of all Boris Johnson is hogtied right because they have prevented a no deal brexit. they they that you know the existing British law said before they did that that Britain could lead was gonna leave on October thirty one without condition and now they can't go unless the European Union says so and the second thing is they stopped they they have prevented him calling election because of a that when you call the fixed term parliaments act which is in my opinion abomination David Cameron did it at a Tory. because he needs a two thirds majority of the house to call for an election and so he stuck right they they have tied his hands in international negotiations and this ruling about the program prorogation in Scotland that overturns the whole way the British

"Dice which is it's even dot. Claude van Damme had somebody assigned to him during during this movie that's the thing that happened. He had I think it was the director who has signed a like a person to follow John Claude van Damme around and then the stop stop using cocaine preventive using cocaine but not only did the guy failed to get them to stop using cocaine. He actually helps him get cocaine and totally ignore the fact that he was sleeping with the worst handler in History Ledge one job. Don't let them get drugs. Okay Sir yeah Sunday Blur on the planet like you're in charge your the handler John Claude van Damme back to the legends legendary. I what is everyone's favorite seen a movie. Let's start with Mike. I is there a movie groovy. I'm kidding. No at most I did like the fight with guile and Bison in the end because that's all it came to mind at the moment when they're fighting and martial arts style or with flying I liked it when he's flying and I was just I enjoyed like most of the fighting the movie I enjoyed. I'm GonNa Stop Right there that you guys go but yeah I enjoyed most of those movies and how it makes sense all right Stephane. What about you speaking of that by sin and guile fight? There's a part where the camera follows Raul Julia flying away from it on a string and then it cuts to him like like flying till the middle of the room suddenly stopping and hanging there and that all the T._v.'s behind him just suddenly explode for no Reza. It's got the lightning power because he's a god Steph. Exactly I like is quote with a Satan something about like hi and he fell from heaven just like lightning thrown all that long for held seen as Z. fell from heaven but now that was just commenting on my <hes> Mike said but my favorite scene is with a zingy in give when the there's a truck full of explosives <unk> heading towards the tent there and there's a T._v.. It looks at the T._V.. And he looks at the truck and he says quick change the channel stupid the D._J.. D._J.'s slowly like turns around and just gives them this book like you hit store. What about about you? What's your favorite scene from the movie? Oh by far my favorite scene is the Sean Lee talking to Sarah Hulas Bison scene because it's just like they're they're both fantastic actors and I mean Raul. Julia is amazing actor. Who's just like our earlier? You said do side note here Raleigh Julia I used to do like low budget films with like for like zero money for like the minimum minimum pay checking yeah because he just like he was is genuinely nice dude at he just loved <hes> like help people out and so he would just do all these little tiny films for like up and coming directors for free or almost referee Oh wow and so I I love him. As an actor I love like his Gomez and me not win his greatness as well. It's just like them. Talking to each other is so dramatic it has so much like it has so much weight on compared to the rest of the movie yeah stand out I think especially because of all I like the funny comedy shots like dial knife and all them all the men start surrendering before he realizes that his entire forces find him okay. That was funny. I was laughing at that too. Yeah I'm GonNa Review. Stuart Pearce seen the movie because it was the one scene where they didn't catch tried to. I don't want let's see ruin it with comedy but like it was yeah it was one hundred percent serious e end how she was going to a monologue about about how he's a coward and how he destroyed their farm in how the farmers revolted and rebelled against them and drove them out and how at the end he was just like it was just a Tuesday it was just the best seed in terms of right in the movie and acted by far the best. I was lying so clearly because it's Aw for you the day M Bison Grace Your village was the most important day of your life but for me it was Tuesday like he could not give less of a shit yeah and apparently he study like wash a bunch of behind the scenes because of course I did and Julia studied a bunch of dictators to get into Garrett Different Bison. Am Bison was based off of like Mussalini putting all of this research in to deliver that one line so perfectly God that is cool though that was a great actor and deserves more credit yeah yeah it's interesting how you put so much work. Irk intuit MIMOSA movie especially to write in Dan put that much work into it delivered all of his lines like Oh yes he gave it a hundred and ten percent set yeah definitely one hundred ten percent at least now he while dying of cancer cancer while on Claude Van Damme was walking around doing a bunch of cocaine pain this entire the entire behind the scenes. This movie basically exists Jean Claude Van Damme look like a massive dick the absolutely much doing cocaine wife studying Mussalini in the corner yeah he was studying studying for like an Oscar picture or something yeah. That's kind of put into everything you did. An awesome tracks was your favorite scene in the movie all right. It's not going to lie my favorite scene. Forget their names already but the two mercy not Mersad Mersad con artists where they were found out by the kind of first villain that we'd need help the yes ago sorry so that was probably my favorite team because it Kinda starts out a bit comical they get kidnapped or like almost prison but then they get shot at with their own weapons which are <hes>. It's like slapstick like Jackie Chan movie gets into like a mild by team and they actually get serious they go into into that kind of cage fight scene which like it was almost serious but not quite to that point that of course at the very end John Claude van don comes smashing Ashington with a tank. It's like it's the biggest blue balls where they build it up so much thank him A._B._C.. Come crashing through the end of that scene moving on. I love that so much how they played it out because it was a little bit serious little bit funny very serious than just comical comical and I thought it was actually laid out perfect yeah yeah like I said. The only bad part of this movie I think is wrong Claude van Damme yeah. What do you find him? The worst part of the movie gets. I don't think the dam is a good actor and people there's there's just <unk> our source exactly yes. There's a there's a there's a Colt appreciation for John. Claude van Damme and I get it believe me I get it but like Arnold Schwarzenegger just did everything he did better while not on cocaine and it was like people like jotted <unk> there are one hundred actors like Jean Claude Van Damme that are better actors like they might not be as good fighters but they can express and I don't think John Claude van Damme can like express emotion very well especially not on coke by the way not and people. It's all of his lines eighty yard in as well. It was weird fun fact about John Claude Van Damme. Most people don't know is that when he was training to become a martial artist he actually trained under Chuck Norris Chuck Norris basically used him as a body bag. He literally got his ass beat every day. That's but never talked about him. In the Predator he was the original the Predator yes lord they has the iconic <hes> cost him that is the Predator error is defined character for many years originally. It was like a weird lobster creature basis yeah. It was a giant Lake Pink. Praying ain't Mantis in a suit before they're like yeah. That's all very intimidated. All let's get do redesign in a broad John Van Damme he was the personnel is inside the suit the whole time he never ended up in the movie and he ended up in a star sort of but originally started it off as the Predator but not actually cool prayer that we all know him love well. He dropped out specifically because he wasn't going to be seen in the movie. I'm not going to do this because my my face isn't going to be on it which that's fair for like if you're if you want to be like a serious acting like if you want your name out there that's fair but also fun to my guess. Somebody's paying you. Someone's paying you like your name on there. I was that guy but I believe it's even funnier to me that like like I. I wish she would have done it because his biggest competition back then was Arnold Schwarzenegger and so the movie would have been like ninety percent Arnold Schwarzenegger's space and ten percent unable to see Sean Claude. Van Damme States really funny. That's why they didn't do it. I know he was really upset about it or maybe he ran out of cocaine now so he's I. I don't really I when I remember a kid. I remember liking him as an actor thought his movies are cool now that adult I know I know there's like hard target and <hes> universal soldiers. They have like a lot of love behind him time cop time come up yeah and it's just like sport. I think right to sports a big one like I said I get it. I This movie you've been better or worse or the same Arnold Schwarzenegger was one hundred times about yeah. I agree with that too especially since he's supposed to be played the ultra American Belgian her to that he you know what he's I think he is more American because he was the command or commando he was in Predator like I believe on the Niger as ridiculous American trooper. I don't believe ridiculous American trooper sure and he's also governor of a state in the United States. Hey Austin let me ask you a hypothetical question or ask you and Travis <hes> would you guys have preferred word John Claude van Damme guile or Steven Seagal. ooh Oh God they're the worst though hold on hold on which aired like so this is we're talking specifically nineteen eighties ago yeah for me even back then he was so fat and Lazy Easy now like loves the Russians he was in those battleship movie things I'd say vanity still because these stories of him do cocaine and a cheat on his wife. All is not really that much better of a fighter or an actor Sir my opinion and I think at that point they were still on the same level of stardom so honestly I'll just say would be the M. Honestly I guess are you guys Pants A._M.. Was At least like a really good fighter and I know people are going to be like Oh. Stephen sagoes apply he's not he's a shit fighter. If you've ever watched any like legitimate tournament that Steven seagal still does for some reason it's all totally scripted where he's like is like I and like barely moving and guys are just flipping over ridiculously. It's all scripted crap trying to think like around this time he was doing under siege thing which I want to say is the the with Tommy Lee Jones in like they're really stupid line..

"Now. I'm worried about the forming my fingers can we look that up too? Because I always heard that was the thing. Also, I heard I think I saw this at a John Claude van Damme movie that if you just like punch bunch of rocks. Like softly, don't just just softly the way that I'm pounding. You know, very softly on a table. If you do that with rocks for like ten minutes a day, you're going to have the hardest knuckles in the world. And you can knock anybody out if you just Ford your knuckles with rocks. But why would you want to? But I I didn't learn that from a doctor I saw that in a movie, I've always wanted to be able to do the karate thing where you like with your elbow you like break up on like, cinder blocks or do it with your head a badass? Is that right? It's are those is that real like magic in like what's going on there keys just break in the first one because then the way to the first one breaks all the other ones. It looks a lot more impressive. If you owe broke twelve cinderblocks, right? But if you really just got to break the one. Yeah, how works like have you ever? Let me ask you a question when someone breaks all those cinderblocks have you ever seen the Cajun? I've seen it fail a couple of times. But have you ever seen it just go like three cinderblocks? Right. And there's there. All right. It's just I've always just one of those things I've always wished I could do. Do it. Go do it. It seems hard. You can hurt my hand you can achieve all things. I paint painful, I've broken aboard that was on fire before with my poem. Why I was in karate, and that's big implicit Garate Well melts. melts You you get get up. up to block built really were not a black. Like that is not true. No, you're not like an orange. Maybe you're not a black. Maybe just so early on. Yeah. Exactly. Not a black belt. I was a black belt. It was just a black belt when I was thirteen years old, and I stopped. I mean, I have a black belt on right now. But what what I took compo- Campo tempo. Karate? I mean, it's not like I'm a whoop your ass right now. Like, I forgot all that stuff. Campo is the least sexy. I think it's mostly blocking. But like a thing they do for like exercises now. Right. Do they? Yeah. You can do Campo class. It's not really high pay. It's not really a fast paced thing Campo is very kind of plotting. Yeah. It was a black belt in Campo. I was in karate since I was three years old. I graduate of taking ten years to get a black belt is that normal. No. I don't think. So I just like went in went out. So you're going to school, and they were just lighting things on fire for kids to punch through. Yeah. It was like because I was on something. Called the swat team which was like the elite elite, and we do like performances, you could hire us in like, we'd go to movie theaters whenever there was a Jackie Chan movie opening and we'd do performances and part of the performance the big crescendo would be breaking boards, and I would break one that was on fire. I did two classes, and then I quit. Just generally the just of like karate when I was young. I was like for day. I was like let's do this. It'd be really weird. We started doing karate like right now, we that'd be cool to have someone come in..

The the right thing, though, the Trump story that you're talking that is him watching blood sport on an airplane and making it son fast-forward between scenes where we're basically anything where someone's talking. But then like when you see bolo young show up. He's like stop at Eric. And then like, and then they watched the fight scene. There's a good bit in there where? Think about how much the gravitas that movie. He missed out like this even know that John Claude van Damme was fighting for his brother, probably doesn't he probably just thinks that it's like a blood. This is their sport blood is their sport. "You get the better weapon by a great. It's a resource management game. The biggest problem I'm having with this movie is all of these problems that we're talking about. It's not apparent to us as a viewer until the credits. Roll that none of this stuff is going to be resolved. Watching this movie. I keep giving it chances like we're in that train station. And I'm thinking, oh, maybe part of the reason why disguise a ghost is. Because we're gonna find out. It's not just him. It's a team of these guys working together. They all look the same. I didn't come in with that. Clone mindset. So I wasn't thinking. Clone program. But I was thinking, oh that might be the reason this society or agency associate Cecil because it doesn't matter if they lose one there's always somebody else that looks just like them to step up and take over the next job. And so they will never be caught out. But no that's not what they're doing. It's just it looks cool to have a bald head in barcode on you, admittedly. What we have is two different visions in Zev as original vision. They were clones. And that was going to be an older clone. He never got deep into the cloning stuff. He was saving it for the sequel. But then when the other guy came in he's like, you know, what would be better and less violent. Let's do a sword fight. So let's bring in all these stunt men. Make them shave their head there, obviously, not clones of because they're multiethnic. And we're going to have this sword fight. We're going to all point guns at each other. And then be like less die with honor. And we were all carrying to source this whole time. Let's pretend like these guys that are all been carrying around thirty six inch Catanha's on their back all day long every day. Wouldn't even care about that stuff this choreography where anything more than adequate? But this is some pretty mediocre fights. I don't feel like it any point. Do I feel revved up saying? Wow, born that was their talent. Was that? Even when you couldn't follow the plot. You didn't care because it's so cool to watch them use everyday objects and suddenly tomato in a newspaper method of killing. I'm waiting for that. Wow factor here. And no, they're just aping other movies that Mexican standoff with guns something they did in that matrix three, which looks bad then and the sword fighting all of it. I'm waiting for the cool stuff. I'm looking for the eye candy. And I don't even feel like this movie is really delivering on that low budget and muddled visions, and this is what you get. This is just a couple steps above direct to video type stuff like as far as the level of action. Goes you can get stunt men to do backflips pretty cheap. You can get them to do that all day and call it. A movie. I mean, I think that's how John Claude made it living in the nineties was direct to video action films like that here. This is all insert stuff. That's going on because there were no others. It was just old bald guy versus young bald guy and old bald guy. Bled. A lot more in AVI as cuts, but yeah, this is all needless because when I was really focusing on the plot summary, I realized yeah, I can skip like half this movie because it's just they run. And the other thing I didn't even bother bringing up is all the infighting. We've got your is your e like the Smith of Russian names, it seems like if ever dealing with Russians in a movie, there's a Yuri would like one of Russia's listeners. How Spain became the new centre of Europe's migrant crisis

"Keith, Walker in, Bonn Germany you're listening to inside Europe and Spain there's. Been a recent upsurge in the number of migrants traveling to the country across the Mediterranean this increase partly due to. The KOMO weather during the summer months but also because it's been a clampdown on the, road between Libya and Italy and that sends migrants elsewhere as they seek a new. Way into Europe guy hedge, co Madrid reports on Spain's efforts to deal with the phenomenon the. Spanish government has said it will implement an emergency plan to deal with. President Trump, United States and Iran discussed on Bloomberg Daybreak

"Daybreak I'm John Tucker in New York with your global look ahead of the top stories for investors in the coming week still ahead apple and tesla lead more than one hundred forty companies reporting earnings but first let's head to our Bloomberg ninety nine one newsroom in Washington to see what items in politics and government set the top the agenda. Next week and for that we bring a Nathan Hager host of our politics, policy, power and. Law program. Aired weekdays At noon on Bloomberg radio Nathan John foreign. Policy will, top the agenda at least at the start of the week President. Trump welcomes, Italy's new prime minister Giuseppi Kante to the White House on Monday just days after that positive meeting on trade with European Commission president John Claude. Juncker we agreed, today first of all to work together towards zero tariffs zero non-tariff barriers and zero subsidies Or, non auto industrial goods thank you and Bloomberg news. Washington bureau chief Craig Gordon joins me now so Craig what are the expectations going, into this meeting with the new Italian prime minister I mean this is a lot more populous government. I would say then Europe is a whole right and the Italians of course their. Economies not exactly blooming right now so it's a tough you know could be a tough meaning, for this prime minister the meaning with Yonker was fascinating because a. Lot of tough talk on both sides and. Then we got word of a quickie sort of news conference came out to announce a deal. So right now I, think we're still trying to sort through what that deal means it seems like the Europeans agreed to buy some more soybeans and by some, more, natural gas the word in our stories, is they don't really need them anymore so, it means on natural gas from Russia so it's not totally clear what the bang for the buck is going to be on this I serve, American, companies but, Donald Trump shirt seemed happy and so happy that he was willing to, take off the table for now Leased his threat of point five percent auto tariffs from cars command from that part of the, world and also on the foreign policy front this week secretary of. State Mike Pompeo is heading back to Singapore. For the Ozzy on summit and Iran is expected to sign an agreement they're just as the. Trump administration is mounting, this new maximum pressure campaign against Iran yeah you're starting to think Pompeo should just get an apartment in Singapore Spend so much time there between the the Chem summit and and all of that but yes this is an important early needing the full Asia summit is. Not until November in that, part of the world but right now they usually have sort of pre. Meetings, with the, foreign ministers usually the economy minister Steve Mnuchin in the case of the United States would go to, these things so it will be a chance for. Pump hair to be in the room with a lot of Asian leaders who seem like they wanna cut a deal with Iran to have a more open relationship there, right at the very moment the. United States is is really trying to crack down on the Iranians obviously people remember President Trump pulled out of the Iran nuclear, deal told, the Europeans are trying to hold that together then pretty tough, without the US that's for sure and then Pompeo, himself gave a, pretty tough speech essentially seeming to try to rally dissident groups inside Aranda to overthrow the government prevail stop just. Short of saying that but the message is. Pretty clear so perhaps a little bit. Of, awkward staging here where you have the the US leader in the Iranian leader kind of in the. Same airspace but you know, for other parts of the world Iran Kip provide oil it can provide. A, lot of, things and even if the United States is not so happy with the government there doesn't mean these, Asian countries don't want to do business with them. And of course like overshadowing just about everything here in Washington is the ongoing Muller investigation now we've gotten reports in the past week that Muller's now looking into President, Trump's tweets for possible obstruction and. Michael Cohen is looking more and more like he's ready to flip where does this go from here Yeah the developments. Of, recent vintage here are quite important this meeting between some members senior members of the Trump campaign and these Russian operatives is taken on a very big role we believe in. The Muller investigation remember what happened Some folks came and said they wanted to talk to the Trump. Campaign extensively about you know Russian children being are, moving to the United States, and the and that sort of thing foster children turns out they. Were, according to the reports offering to feed them. A negative. Information about Hillary Clinton the Trump campaign people seem to listen at least seemed open to the idea and they have always said that Donald Trump himself than the candidate now the. President did not know about the meeting Michael Cohen Trump's time. Lawyer and really personal sort of was now tells a different story that Trump in fact did know about the meeting and I only. Knew about it but, approved it so, that puts that whole meeting to a very different light. If the candidate. We're open to hearing about negative information about Hillary, Clinton, from Russians who. Boy. That gives rubber mother-in-law to work with that's Bloomberg Washington bureau chief Craig Gordon, and that is what's happening here in the nation's capital.

Brick and steel, of a nondescript building we've once again made contact with our leader Hello, everybody Mark Levin. Here our number eight seven seven three eight one three eight one one eight seven seven three eight one three eight. One one why, we have a full plate Full plate The, news outlets particularly FOX, Sky News some. Other reporting we have some deal with the European Union on non, Kar product, certain products Where the goal is to reduce or, eliminate tariffs And subsidies On non Kar products that are purchased And the way Sky News reports it Donald Trump has held a very big day for free and fair trade after reaching a deal to avert a blow a full-blown trade war with the EU, following talks with the European Commission president. John Claude Juncker at the White House Mr. Trump said the US in a you have agreed to work. To resolve their current dispute last month the US presidents slap tariffs on steel and aluminum imports to, prompt tit for tat measures, by Brussels including tariffs on bourbon. Whiskey Levi's jeans and Harley Davidson motorbikes. Mr. Trump had worn of retaliatory action your car makers. In a bid to de-escalate the quarrel Mr. Trump said he and Mr Juncker had agreed to work together toward. Zero-tariff, zero non-tariff barriers and zero subsidy now Mr. producer Zero tariffs zero subsidies who has. Been, preaching this Who's been preaching this and getting, calls for, some Trump supporters attacking me That we need tariffs to protect our industries Now there were some who said look, this is a negotiating tool for the president. But that's not what most said most said we need tariffs to protect our industries And what I what, have I been arguing no, get it down. As close to zero tear zero, subsidies, as possible try and work it out with, other countries if they don't go along we. Can go along anyway just do it Because money will. Flow into this country you know one of the things I meant. To mention yesterday in the past is when you talk about an imbalance? Of trade with the country one of the things that's not considered our, services and financial transactions that's a big deal for the United States just, products just products so it's. A phony number Now they're agreeing to work toward. Zero tariffs and zero subsidies On non automobile products I'm not one hundred. Percent show at that means is that includes steel and aluminum That. Would be great if it includes still aluminum but I didn't hear about stealing aluminum So we'll need to know more as time goes on, but this has been my point this, has been my argument the president campaign and say I want. Zero tariffs and zero subsidies if. I can get it from other countries and so forth that's not what he campaigned on they have genuflected. Somewhat over there. At the White House because I think you you, Lavigne I'ts out there you've been hurt I think you've been hurt by the White House which. Monitors this show That's why I. Say it's one thing to criticize the president, when we disagree with them it's, another thing to try and sabotage, him which is what the left, us which is what the media do. Which is what the Democrats do. Which is what the never. Trumpers do that's not what we do here that's not what I do So this is good if it's true if. It turns out to be accurate is what, I'm saying if they actually can, negotiate this no tariffs and no, subsidies that's the Levin position is, it not Mr. bidder I won't go. Back and play the audio over. And over and over again But that's our position And let's see, how this works out I hope it does Now I may wind up being tougher on. China than most people I'm not looking for. Trade deals with, China I'm not looking. For currency deals with China China's the enemy China's stealing our technology what kind of deal? Can we cut with China to stop them from stealing our technology But our allies I've never understood Why, we would treat. Them like China So free trade apparently is very very, important because now everybody's talking about it Everybody's talking about why Because. It's better for everybody that's why And now our companies have. To compete and our farmers will compete they're happy. To compete Perfectly fine by me Let's do it, in, steel and aluminum too Let's, remove all of our tariffs and subsidies well, only if the other guy does it well we should try, and ask the other guy to, do it but if. They don't do it they don't do, it Then more and more money will, flow in our country Money finances which doesn't. Even count towards the quote unquote imbalance of trade anyway We'll see, how this develops over time. There I hate getting into this stuff with this Michael Cohen and. The tape I hate it when the when the pseudo media drives the agenda but I've heard so much misinformation and disinformation and ignorance when it comes to our federal, campaign laws and whether Trump is on the hook for violating our campaign loss he's, led, to, a close to being on the hook, for violating our campaign laws I had Bradley Smith on this program. A few months ago the former chairman of the Federal Election Commission he wrote a beautiful piece in the Wall Street Journal he spoke at length us and he's coming, back at the bottom of the hour so we can go through this yet again You can have a nondisclosure agreement I've been saying. This now for months. Months months months with stormy Daniels or anybody else a nondisclosure, agreement is not hush money a nondisclosure agreement. Is not illegal a nondisclosure agreement even in a campaign. Is not a campaign violation and in no circumstances is it criminal this entire issue as another shiny object it's another phony issue That CNN they got the tape obviously from Lanny Davis when you, see Lanny Davis there yes ambulance chasing slip and fall. Lawyer that's right Lanny Every damn lie the Clintons ever. Told Lanny. Defendant So, now he's, there Michael. Cohen's lawyer trashing the president this. Guy Michael Cohen what a sleazeball I never spoke to him in my life. I never communicated with. Them in my life what a, sleazeball you're, taping your. Client apparently repeatedly Got a dozen tapes What are you going to? Do with. The tapes Sarah counselor you're gonna use. It against your client Incredible I think the New York bar ought to be taking a look at. This they're probably cheering on Michael Cohen and Lanny Davis right now. Too Colin could turn on Trump who cares if he turns on Trump a nondisclosure agreement with a payment is is. Legal while he might have set up an LLC a corporation to launder the. Money through without Trump's name on it in order to doesn't matter You're not laundering money they're LLC's I love place There's nothing illegal. There's nothing shifty there's, nothing wrong. With an LLC I don't. Have one but people have them Under our tax laws Perfectly permissible Well that way they won't know who's making, the payment who cares The issue here's Michael Cohen the issue is what the hell's Lanny Davis doing. In, the middle of this trashing the president of the. United States Well Cohen's gonna turn on Trump turn on Trump about what Here, we, are going. Down, another rabbit hole Russia now. Michael Cohen Russia Michael Cohen I'll, be, right.
