"You don't say that brother would have really benefited from a program institution such as bishop sikkim. The best part of that story in jolt slid it in there. I wanna make sure you understand this. This man went and tried out photo oilers and then went back to play college football. You know what let me. Just start back. Oh he's like that workout. Might have gone a little bit. Better now bro. I might be able to pull some no so he goes fort pierce college which i think. La somewhere. i wanna say. That's where the brother they used to play for the giants say antonio linebacker antonio peer may actually i may just be saying pearson careful right right right but pierce college win there and then figured out. You don't put enough on tape that the university of texas that is the dream that would have really benefited was though lies. You could tell four the et before. Here's business nicobar more out here with all this internet still telling these lives and you know what part of it was. This is how we should have noted this assets right. The name of the school is bishop sycamore. Like a treat. You know what. I'm saying in a bishop. Nobody's name name bishop nothing at all the bishops anymore. But it sounds like a school that plays good. Football is when you hear that sound like school. Plays good football. Oh yeah top programme in the greater columbus ohio area. Why would anybody doubt that. That's the school that exists. That's call all kinds of stuff. Do you remember eastern christian academy like see this is another. I'm deeper to the scams eastern christian academy becca two thousand twelve. They tried to build a program around brother. That i know that you're going to remember. David sills you remember. David sills who ended up being all american wide receiver. It was virginia but at the time he was top quarterback prospect and in fact he was such a good quarterback prospect lane. Kiffin offered him a scholarship aid. Yeah exactly exactly. And they got that finesse. So good sports illustrated wrote about him and the headline of that story. And i'm going to read it here. Eastern christian academy has no field. No home uniforms no listed phone number. It isn't even a school. Just a national football powerhouse. You know so people have been trying this man. They've been. I mean people people right now. Listen to this watching this unfold. And they're like oh. I can do that though. Yeah i can pull it off. The bishops sycamore level. To me is they didn't realize everything that would come from playing against high profile schools Because if they had not played that game. I am geeta weekend. Espn were not there. And logan bill and them to audibly. What is this thought anything about it. Like nobody would are really dug into it but then they win and google up that address. It was a duplex somewhere. Old buddy we have a problem here and they still go. They sounded like What was it would rental takes. Thought larry homes howard. Cosell was so disgusted off. This is an outrage. That's hot ability of sounded watch the bishops from the creative is not like a plane and go do it but i want it so i guess it must've been paragon that got the hall of fame like that's the thing they play at the hall of fame. Okay i'm not even labor day weekend keep in mind right right man. You make a really good point man. If that game if they hadn't just lucked out just enough to get tv for people to expose nickleby playing games right now without people bothering you know what they'll give it a couple of weeks. They'd be playing games and nobody bothered. Oh yeah i mean. They're still playing. They still people scheduled other. I mean and that's the thing man like what's your schedule is locked in you kinda. I mean it's really tough to cancel a game. You only get so many football games. If i was in high school ambitious more still on my schedule our had no concerns. We place somebody this we might as well be do. Here's the thing though. I with you because i'm trying to put us a feel you know what i'm saying this your opportunity to put us fill where i would be worried. Though is a lot of stress to be putting the sycamore under at some point. Mad he's gonna start playing dirty. You know what. I'm saying way enough like what is clear about the bishops sycamore. Roster is as a whole lot of dues with nothing to lose. because they're because they're at bishop sycamore. I would argue that. They love football as much more than anybody know. If you play football under those circumstances. I mean bra anybody. That has play football before. We'll tell you like if there's no goal in mind what's your dreams of whatever you envision your career over the game becomes that much less appealing. You hurt yourself bro. Like why would. I throw myself onto ground. Forty times a day later doesn't make a lot of sense but these dudes like well on finish school. Probably not gonna go. Nowhere but must apply. Jesus week i mean. They love football more than almost anybody you know. I admire dedication to the game. I don't think it's smart. But i admire how much they love the game here. Yeah i think there's something to that. Do they learn game and then he's ain't got nothing else to do. They've got to work. I mean yeah. I think that's the ball of the story here. This i know they need start. A raise the minimum wage to fifty dollars an hour. These these radical about here as adults play high school football for free. Go find a job. Judging them for this by the way. Oh wait clear. Hey look be now they just like. Hey man these jobs paying enough. I don't want to be a an essential worker. Said i wanted just lit a dream a little bit long. If i knew that there was some goal in mind if there was something i could do to get to. Sec school or whatever even some bill school. And i knew that i could do. I might chart even at this at my good forty-three years of age south carolina state or whatever. Yeah man look br stadium. I'll just a smell the grass. And i just look at the stands. Boy i got high school. Read down the street here. I'll tell my wife and we passed by practice by boy. I go out there right now. Give them a good two yards a carry see. I saw the some dude. Africa was school. You play for want us to eastern washington. Some like that and they said dude is in year. Eight of a college careers in washington used to washington one of those but he is in year eight. And i'm like son go assume he has a masters at this point right. I mean maybe. I don't know son go get a job like whenever i hear about these. Like he's gonna come back for his six year son. Go get a job. You missed the fundamental lesson of mo money. Another old realized. I'm old person. The fundamental lesson of mo money job ain't none were what is football is a game the game. We played a game right now. This like some that you do all game night. Which is you know what i'm saying. You sit around and tell stories and stuff. College is a job. I could get the appeal if you can play football until you can't play football no more i understand. Sometimes i get that feeling myself like you know saying if i was twenty one years old and these jobs whacking i might get covert. I guess you'd get cobra. Plan football that much colder playing football. I would be working shift somewhere. Go get a job. I don't want to be that person. I don't like how i feel like you. You you tell them that. Yeah i mean you look we already know by you. Know what i'm saying. That is the exodus nucci. Doing right there go get a job. You know what. I'm saying. That's us you know it's like when you talk to your older jones or whatever and they and they talked to your shiftless cousins and they're like well why don't you go up to the job and go apply. You should go on up. Watch going up there to the railroad apply for something. They think that you know this is the one thousand nine hundred seventy four economy or whatever. That's how you're coming at this joe joe. These dudes was sleeping on the floor in a room. Full of other. He mad with the line to the bathroom..

"I think the dion was legitimately trying to start a school and had no idea what he was doing and i think he wanted athletic department around it. Obviously but i think he was actually trying to get. A school started in just wasn't qualified to do that. He's cats ally. School was school. We ain't got no school. We just want to have a football team. And i just run a seventy seven program. How you going to get tape. Who you goes actually. That's another. what are they trying to trying to go to college. Awesome was that a goal because they're not in school because usually called diploma. Mills right You just going through the motions and they're giving you grades and they getting you through the clearing house. You can get eligible in colleges shadily. I might add would do that. They'll send a key. They like sent into a diploma mill. Get him eligible then he can get into college but if these kids had not even going to school i kind of. Don't see the in game which makes me think that his plan was just. I'm just gonna try some. I'm just going to see if i get a couple of dudes get a team. Maybe under armor will come through and the thing that the kid into complex sports interview did say was that a big part of the cell sales pitch was them getting a netflix documentary. And so maybe they were hoping we'll get some notoriety out of this. We'll get some streaming money out of this. Who knows so. There are ways in which like it wasn't a total failure. But i kind of don't like you said we don't see what was the in game here like what did think it was going to go. But here's what. I wanna know who they know because they know somebody and when i asked that this is what i mean when i saw this story was playing out right of course people immediately were coming to like oh man. Espn come all mad. They serious this operation is not at the point of well. We need to make sure that high schools a high school because it's a very who would do such a thing sort of situation i. It's all kinds of things that come up. You're like why did you google that person because people don't do that like as much as you think that people do that people don't actually do that. There's a measure trust that we typically exist with the my how big of a priority is high school football. Espn anyway right. Right right right right but this is not like it was. Nobody's job to get to the bottom of whether or not all these high schools exist because again who would do such a thing. But mike question was why nobody asking. Nothing i m g because espn. I'm looking at just the incentive structure. Here and i am g is all. Espn needs to put this on television. Any other team would do like. They had no need to go out and find a fake team right. But i looked at. I and i was like so. How'd y'all find and then we come to find out what the paragon marketing or something is right this other marketing company. And they're the ones that i don't think have been asked to answer nearly enough questions because what i want to know is how did bishop. Sycamore ended up on their radar. Because businesses gamal was opposed to play duggan ville a big school in texas this weekend and top ten type school and douglasville canceled it. I think business sycamore. Got a couple more gains against some of those big monster type schools. And how do those schools know that. Bishops sycamore exists. They not just go through google. Who need a game week three. There's somebody who knew about bishops sycamore. And my question is how to bishop sycamore. Know about them. I would love to sing at the table. is it the person at paragon is it. Somebody it img thing is i am. Z is always trying to fill out a schedule right like it is very difficult. Not only for them to get games beget games against teams that make it worth their while right right like nobody within one hundred mile radius as if you look at img schedule they'll play. Nobody close because don't nobody wanna play. What's in it for you. I'm just played a game this past weekend against a powerhouse in cincinnati. They keep going back though they don't found marks and ohio and they were like that team at the end of the game. You not another blow out near like now. We ain't playing them again. Why would we do that. That typically is what happens and they played. Bishop sycamore the year before it. So the fact bishop sycamore. They've whatever entity they were whatever they had the the fact that they were willing to play them again. Like mike just have been enough. It might not required a lot of diligence. Because we've got a lot of schedule we gotta get. These boys. people are paying money. These boys came here. They're trying to get the alabama florida state. We gotta play somebody so we can't be too picky about who who shows up on friday defected. This is an industry that exist. Yeah is so why. And i wanted. I was like yo. I got it. 'cause you gotta get some partners on board you gotta get some coaches finger quotes going. You gotta go some coaches and how they are convincing these players and they mama's to just you know and they eddie shoe had a convincing them to come in holed up in like understand as a measure desperation. But bro wants you show up and all you do is sitting around the house. A outplayed two games in a row. What's stopping you from going back home. Where the kid that. I keep bringing up accomplish because that's the only interview kid he's like. I lost my junie. Hugh but i went back home and he elliott his senior year. And so i guess you know but if you're twenty years old and the only thing you got to do on friday night as work you'll shift at target that i mean you might as well. I mean y mas. Keep showing up. I mean you get to live that dream. Who really like. It was a man ahead of his time. Who would've really benefited from this. Ron weaver deborah we. Oh you don't know your history. Your joel ron mckelvey. You know texas longhorn. Great nineteen ninety-five good bone so for people that dodo because this is excellent. We we have gotten old with the university of texas onto dude who was actually thirty years old all that guy and they found out when he played at the sugar bowl. Heo hotel bro. That's not no ron weaver does not know. Joel ron mckelvey does ron weaver. And he played it to community colleges sacramento state tried to play a cfl and did a trial for the oilers. Figured out that he could use somebody else's name social security number and played it another junior college and then got onto texas..

"With that school moved on and did another thing but they played a school. In that time it was called heritage christian academy which your country self would know is in cleveland texas. How would i know. What would i know about cleveland decks. This'll do talk about cleveland. but i don't know about the local parochial school the parochial schools. You know about heritage christian academy so they had a player. call this. I'm going to dig a little bit von wafer. You remember von wafer yes. Do you know who the coach was. That founded that program. First of all. I did not know. Von waiver was from cleveland. He's not he went there for year. He went there for a season. Okay do you know who started the program the guy named jerome tang who is now assisting baylor and has been an assistant for the last twenty years so you can either get that bag. You can get the i'm going to be on. Espn bag and get that money from the peregrine marketing company or you can get somebody an apparel company to fund. You like some looks a you. Seven or seven stuff. We've you get just the right player. The right time there could be six figures that it for you and that gives you enough money you got to flesh out your scam or you could just you know pivot a little bit. It absolutely could have worked. There's a lot of ways that you can see like okay. I can see how that might work. But it's just that they didn't have none of that. They nothing going for him but like the aa you scam. I get that one. Like i'll never forget one. I meet with a coach. I would just practicing up talking to him. And we walked out and i walked into my car and he walked his compressive beans. And i'm like where you work you know. I think i asked that delicately something like so like what's up with this and he explained delicately how he would be able to drive such a fancy automobile where he is coaching games. They don't sell tickets. You know like. I get that when i see where the money comes from. I see the long play. That's involved dinner for all the parties. You know what i mean like. I get that this had no chance to ever be successful like the success that they could get is the checks. I would imagine basically appearance fees that they get for showing up in playing in these games like. That's the only money that's there and so these kids. If you didn't see the story ladies kids are talking about some of them. Were still in school. Some of them were not in. It's funny because my man Trying to say now that it's not a school it's a post graduate football academy as the first of all not all of them opposed graduates and number two. Let's just say the mother boys that was out there. That are not boys that are men they go into no academy like is not the term that is you so they say they had them whole boy did interviews essay. They were holed up in some house like sleeping on the ground. The wildest thing was apparently in a it must be an hood somewhere because apparently somebody tried to break into the coach's car and all the players in their found out. i mean. notice what had happened. And so they went into him to dude up and they stopped him out. And apparently there's video of the do given stopped out. And i gotta say i can't imagine for those boys in that house that day dead. Do start breaking into codes cox first of all you know. Let them do it right. The light to coach right. You don't have to be like. Yeah there you go there you costco but coaches deploys them to go out here or make something happen or all. The picked up frustration of due to have and now we have an opportunity for the true american dream which is violence like we can stop somebody out and be in the right. After we begin stalked out we go through. I w failed only w ed so the dude quarterback out there looking like bar left which i told him and he took a sixty five quarterback. Oh yeah homeboy. The defensive yes mitt. And that went viral before we even knew what the hell they were like. You never occurred for us to think. Hey what happened to that guy. He goes sounded like kentucky or something like that. Nobody ever followed up. This guy was a viral sensation. We followed up. But that's just how. I think that what they're doing actually made a lot more sense than you do. I think it had a chance to work if that guy that little viral sensation had actually been really good. If he'd been a five star there's a scenario in which he helps recruit other people and then you can build out a program from there but that's when people start looking to cloaks. That's where i disagree. Is that if all now saying macy's and getting the star players. Because now they go into. Bishop sycamore run by all these afro americans. Saving like damn they got us. They come in and get to the bottom of this. This is a little more serious but don't you think that this is a reflection of the death of local high school football coverage because trust if the columbus dispatch had is robust of a prep team. Is it probably twenty five years ago. There definitely would have been a story about a great point. Those same coaches that would have been complaining playing those teams that just hey man does got took my second cornerback or whatever and your local town like. Maybe they're not good enough to play against img. But maybe that dude is good enough to help you beat cross town rival or you just got people reporting on bishops sycamore. Every yes yes absolutely you go to practice and practice. Then that's actually the wildest thing that they do in their complex sports interview said they didn't practice. How do you do that in football. I don't understand like what are you do you know how do you learn what plays are you running. I what how you playing defense. What are your calls like that is. I would love to see somebody. Explain how you play football without practice because that is ninety nine percent of football like that is the thing that separates great players from goodwin's because those are the people that enjoy practice because that's all you do football practice. What the hell are you doing if you not out there like going through the motions. What are you doing with the rest of your time. You're not practicing. You're not going to school. What else is there your right. that's what was it like. They don't go to school. Did not practicing. And i guess they feel like they tell them what what games man you guys they do. We got a game on wednesday. You don't try to cover. Cincinnati what to train staff hitting all while training. You think they got they got tape. Hey you tape ankles taped and they got a bag. According to run down to get some. Ice right brentwood. And i'm twenty dollar bags back. And i wanted to teens. They ain't got hub would actually had rethinking dislike. Dion is the guy that really pulled this witness off but than anybody else pro. Prep was bishop. Sycamore right yeah. I mean if you think about it..

It's like you bijon robinson mississau- qizheng out there standing at attention for your little important to so. So what are you gonna play the eyes of texas lebron victory proper in that how they win in he goes those who don't know joel Alleged tcu joel played football at tcu. And i don't know if you heard the way that celebrated this victory after winning the finals of the right time charity tribute tournament. But i'm just curious what you think. Gary paddison tell me. I know that this deflecting. That's fine not deflected. I'm just saying that's that's the man that helped change the direction of your life. And i just thought that maybe you would know you know what i'm saying. Like how he will react to hear a young african american man of being so about victory. I'll say is that i know that you all celebrate in a particular way for your favorite team. Just wanted you to have the same kind of fun to miss. "They lost to alabama by four touchdowns. Right like am which we would say is definitely at a better place right now in texas and they still twenty eight points behind alabama. That's like this is what you're walking into if you expect to be competitive and look texas. I'll be one like any conference championship. Since darrell royal. Quit and like something like seven times. They weren't even winning. Dsw see in our lifetime. They've won seven conference championships. Seven and one of them was that ninety sixteen than when eight and five and beaten rasco on a fluke game team was loaded by the way ages underachieve that had priest. Holmes is basically like just kind of a throw in backup. Homes resolve resolve ricky williams team. You went eight and five right right. Eighty five i mean. That's what i'm saying. So i mean again i mean texas has never quite been into everything that everybody says. This is bomani like nobody's gonna beat alabama. You know what i mean like no like alabama is going to be is for the most part for the next few years but i guess that's the thing that maybe you're putting hope in the universe texas hoping and maybe oklahoma too just like nick sabin can't coach forever and maybe we can get ourselves to a program. I'll go home like you can't leave us here long night. We go wrap this up soon but the big thing about it was if texas lease all the good real estate. There's no good real estate left for the big twelve s awful real estate. Generally everybody's head to eat off of the state of texas or you had to be oklahoma and be able to recruit nationally or kansas state and be willing to recruit nationally while also having this bizarre retail kids to go to junior college and then try to out of team. Twenty six and twenty seven year olds a wink. How were you supposed to win. Football games at kansas state. The whole thing. I don't want to see the whole like mechanism and everything rock house. Football is falling apart. Everything's about to change in a big way because the big problem. Those big twelve schools have other than kansas. Don't want money all. nobody really wants kansas. They'd like to have your basketball program but they don't want to school and they don't want your football like nobody else has anything that anybody wants. I mean you said nobody wants. I mean you say kansas man absolutely. Nobody wants kansas. You've got the worse power five program football program in the country scandal-plagued basketball program. Yeah nobody wants them and know people in your state and no people in your state right because this isn't like a thing like with missouri. Whatever you know what. I'm saying like this. Kansas is basically your base. But i guess my thing is is that. Why would anybody want any of these other schools. And i mean i'm i'm putting in that because we know that like tv market isn't quite the same thing like we don't judge it off cable hookups. Anymore cable households. You know what i mean like. That's not the standard that people use anymore even argument that you could say what's in the pac twelve or whatever. Oh you could come texas tech. Tcu oklahoma state. That's not a footprint you've had before. The people know better than that now than they knew ten years ago. They'd like our ain't nobody wants just because they interstate. Nobody watched them right. Where it's like. Houston houston houston is into market. But nobody's watching university. Houston now at a different point. Maybe right now not so much but we just don't see. i suppose. That is joel. Anderson who was not the fastest forty two year old in america but he was once the past ten year old in america. I think i'm probably in the top ten percent of the fastest forty two years in the country output myself. Did i give myself that compression shorts. Now run i go. I'll go russell nine. I'm not. I'm not gonna do now. Joel check about slate dot com. Do it all kinds of wonderful work and jim. Thanks for joining us here on the right time to do this three times a week. Bassein and day presley handed things behind the scene. Thank you gentlemen remember. Follow the right.

"It right as texas brought that all back though where yeah go yes. That's the thing all miss like. Finally some would weaken judge. Someone can look down our noses. Imagine lane kiffin. Look like y'all still tripping over there for the is texas out of there so fast there's no way laying given what it took a job as the situation was what it was. I mean i like man look. Aren't you not worry thin that because of that like this fight over is a texas it. Showing conflicting messages is like how serious about winning argue if university of texas. Because obviously you follow the money but texas many isn't a big deal so tripping over something like that like making a big deal out of that to me that just reveals like confusion about whatever. It is your priorities exactly. Look i got some real decisions to make about. If i'm gonna keep doing this district. It's become an instrument ago but go ahead. Yeah but you and. I have discussed this. Your people are from texas and my people are not from texas. So i come into it like oh. This is the place that i live. Now this is. This is the thing that i'm going to do it. I knew i want to go do this thing. Because i saw who was doing that and it was right up the street from us right up. Yeah yeah yeah. I didn't wanna parts of that but now is just got me. Because every ain't none of these schools not got some legacy some histories to be ashamed but in two thousand twenty one most trying to act like it's different is about. How old miss look down nose at texas now. Granted mississippi is thirty six percent black. I wanna be clear about this as a state by percentage but the last time i looked it up. Oh miss was something like eighteen percent like. They put a lot of work. Consider ole miss was what people thinkable mitzvah for him to get up to. Eighteen requires a significant level of effort to get people to come in there. Five percent black right right. And it's something like twelve. But the latino numbers are appalling right no state public school. His work harder to stay white in the university of texas as all of the big affirmative action battles of my life have taken place in texas. You know what i mean like. I mean the idea that black people and brown people some sort of stake in the public institution in texas. Like it's always been at state it's always been a subject of debate and yeah it is never felt very welcoming to black and brown people around the state Even outside of that. And so yeah. I mean texas is always had to sort of deal with that but it seems like they're regressing in. I don't know if that's just because the political climate right now like maybe the political climate is what has made people sort of regress in that way. But it doesn't bode well if you want to compete like if you just want to be university of texas and kind of run your little footprint in this part of the country then great but if you want to project something else and to attract the sort of people in athletes that you want and you want do some different the force people to stand up dancing the dam to tucson. They going to have to figure out in fast because look for the last ten years. They've been mediocre They walk into this. Sec mb embarrassing. When by the way would be a big difference from when the other two big twelve schools went into the sec because those schools like a and m. is now getting back up to maybe being as good as they were that first year where they had all those first round picks all over the place. Missouri went to the sec championship game twice because they could recruit better players in the big ten then in the big twelve rather than they could recruit in the missouri. I think is another winner in this. Whether they realize it enacts now they can go back to recruit and in texas they can go back to maybe getting some of those players but texas gonna come out there and get embarrassed if they don't step it up really really fast and we're gonna find out if they actually care about winning or they rather just antagonize non white people. That's a hell of a way to say. I mean and here's the thing man like i don't think that ultimately that this anti-communism towards black folk is going to prevail. I think that they're going to get to the sec. And i don't think texas may never be great or his great is in its fans imagination. But it doesn't have to be bad right. Texas can alway- texas can always mean something and be like a nine ten win program even down years they can do that But i guess the issue is like how in terms of your brain like being a big brand in. The game is great. But are you going to be able to finally get everything line. Like that's the one thing about an alabama and florida in some of these other schools that they've been able to get everybody aligned like everybody's going pointing in one direction. Texas has never been able to do that right. They've never been able to get everybody on the same page. And i think that's sort of telling that's how you end up with steve sarkisian as you coach right. If you were as good as you thought you were if everything was in place like you thought it should be. Then you would get somebody better. The steve sarkissian. He goes no festival like nobody was looking at that like anybody that a year ago if you pointed them and say. We're going to replace tom. Herman with steve sarkissian. Somebody would have been like what happened with wrong there. So i don't know man. I just i know texas as a seven eight win program a team that's won only three big twelve titles in the last twenty five years championship team is one of the ten degrees teams history college football. It's good. i'm glad you got that. But i just wanted to point that out as you were talking about. You have no matter. What you of course. I'm not thinking doing that. You off right wipe out of the be with the. Obviously we lose the schools like we but you know what i mean. Texas schools like tcu courses. No reason to be had there now. I'm gonna make this point. And his wishes scare everybody right a. and m. emma's ryan higher than they ever had they with nine one last year. I feel great about themselves. I think that team was a little overrated. But whatever right. They feel.

"Around the state of texas where texas and oklahoma looked at the big twelve. It was like deuces. We out these piece evade. It makes you look around and realize that the big eight slash big twelve. Am slashes wc has been like to good schools at bums since like nineteen forties. Hey either i kinda the bums comment you know what i'm saying. That seems a little far. Your i mean technically fair for swat law town. Texas was one of the bums. Okay fair play. Texas is one of these schools. That was really good until everybody got black people in texas like we don't need no black people and ain't never really quite recover from that dumb to sit here. See that tweet. That stephen godfrey set when texas going through all texts thing and everything else and he was like. I think it was texas. The parallel between how ole miss looks at alabama wonders. Why can't we be that it. Texas looks at oklahoma and wonder why can't we be that. In both cases they jumped onto wave. Right right right. They were early. Adopters live enough that you know when they start banging set everybody else had got to the game. They were really excited. You know what i'm saying. They did really well but not at everybody else's say oh we we could get somebody brothers saying we'd get them all down here and now we can build these nice facilities to the all of the sudden isn't quite as sweet as it was sexist. Sec was an interesting evolution. All integration because the big domino to drop on integration with floor. Mine right they would. I was to be like dogs. We bought to do it by around here. Look how many of them look how fast they are. Okay we've got to do it for real and made everybody catch up. Get to the late eighties and early nineties. You still got white news player. Receiver in the sec. Actually you know what the what are the funniest facts. The sec is that i just found out the other day the first black athlete. In sec's history was isn't that dude. As a referee you'll get around that it was a baseball player for two lane. Really got steve. Abide by sixty. Six is like oh of course got it. The broke the color burien. Sec was at school over the next year. The next fall in kentucky got a couple of brothers will and i think northern ten or something like that right so i mean it's so weird you talk about the evolution of the sec in the idea that it is the most dominant conference in the country really is only about fifteen years old. Yes take this trip with me. Did it start for you win. Two thousand four auburn game when everybody started being like yes Sec how could you leave. All you see is so much tougher than everybody else. Yes nak quite the day exactly that it happened that the whole perspective changing people's minds was the data. Oklahoma got their doors blown off by us. Orange bowl that year because to be fair auburn head. Three first round three top ten picks the team three first round picks on offense one of whom was the quarterback jason campbell carnell cadillac williams and ronnie brown. Yes it calls rogers at corner right and so they had all those who are granted. It was a team so he would have found a way to lose if they play. Usc because i mean that was during. The usc went down to auburn like the year before that or the year after and blew their doors off. 'cause usc was like now. We go and everywhere. And we blow in everybody's doors off after that really the sec has been seen as the absolute dominant power. I think there have been years where the has been overrated the. Sec is a bit more top heavy than people recognize. But around this time is fully is the culmination of the money and also full integration of college. Football head really. Finally taken place in the sec. In a way. That's different than everybody else. Because i was thinking about this the other day holding on this tell you we got on air but think about this. You know was different. Alabama and say ohio state. Ohio state still got white dudes in the front seven. Sometimes the way news me coal right like sometimes. It's nick bosa bosa sometimes it's aj hawk academy. When is the last time there was a great white defensive player in the sec. Oh god think about that right like in the big twelve where you get like your jordy nelson's and your jordan ship lease and like these random wide dues random because those are all especially ship. He was a big deal in high school. But like wipe us out there and play for the sec has given up on that whole idea. Saint block or you can throw. There is no room for you in the south eastern conference man. i'm. I'm trying to rent my head through all the sec. Teams like ain't got a more. You're nowhere just land. Is it not because you know he would be a folk hero. Yes if they could jin what he would be celebrated he. The sever figure dude did bryce youngest about yes over the last good white defensive. Back in the sec. I think acura remembered off the top of my head fourteen years ago. Everyone vampire do from lsu steles who. I think he was married as a senior. But i was like all the world must be yours. Oh man that's a name. I heard in a very long time. Oh my god anyway go ahead like the is like no. We're not doing none of that. Ain't nobody no flavors. We see beyond their like what we have that nobody else has. And the quantities that we have is local blacks we have a black solar place and we are going to put them on the field. They as you put you know they have a wide. Do be star. What they ain't doing. Oh man like the mississippi schools. Whatever they wanted them dudes up. Absolutely but i mean that's the thing that there was a study a few years ago probably a decade at this point about hike. How many three hundred pound plus defenders in the southeast region of the country and like disproportionately overrepresented in the sec's footprint. And i was like oh. Yeah that's the difference like having those be defensive dudes also athletes and that's not what everybody else has in. Yeah of course it. They come to mississippi to black state in the nation. Know georgia whatever. That's black people. Are you know what i'm saying. So yeah man. They've got excess is what it takes. Oklahoma logging into my theory is why texas in particular doing this. They were not going to be able to get good players again if they did not get out of the big twelve When texas and then went to the west. This is what i thought was. Wow they just messing everything up for everybody now of course and decided that they wanted to be good. And there's institutional commitment to be good in recruiting has been good because they decided texas got that same commitment to win and they willing to blow it all over a damn song. You know what i'm saying. They don't they don't they. Don't care enough about trying to get them dubs. But what's tech numbers in the sec. West the best player in texas might go to alabama. The best player in alabama will not go to texas. Anl will not go to texas right. And so all how stay started coming in because they big twelve. You really trying to do that. Ohio state star coming in and getting all these dudes and i think the texas just looked around and realized running. This conference is becoming a hindrance and we go need to go. Get into another coffers. But i don't know what kind of winning they're going to be able to do against these schools. That really really care about winning right. What was that do they let him. Where tommy novas jersey to that. One game brechin brechin. Brian's last name was it ain't meyer because that's an actor. Joe backer about hay playing at alabama lsu. I can't get in on the feel any of those places. Absolutely man look spencer. Wrote this piece Twenty sixteen about. Do you really want to know it..

"And i had no idea to get away from that a little what did you think of michigan because i cut the game we're gonna be joined later by joel anderson who covers college basketball here espn he was at i think both this game and tech state game which michigan looked like the golden state warriors they did not look like the golden state warriors last night four from it did you look at them and did you see a championship team michigan to me i have severe michigan bias because i love that squarely and whenever they look good i think they're gonna win every single thing they show up in any sport anytime i kind of love michigan and i can't remember what that kid's name is his name he white kid who's always throwing his tongue whenever he hits threes is that that dude got serious swag and i think he's got to kinda swag that takes you to the championship game quickly let's hear what seth greenberg said to sportscenter about the decision making at the end of that game in that situation four point game you gotta give a fab you talking about the three hundred twenty first worst free throw shooting team in the country try to for simpson right he just missed the free throw at least then you can kick it ahead maybe get it three falagan you can make a half court shot the question had to be asked leonard had a right to respond to any which way he would like because let's face it it's right after the game but in my opinion you have to give a foul eleven seconds left give the foul right away you know they may be missed to you come down quick sideline break knocked down to three to one point game now that's greenberg we know his stance it was a bad decision back through a question no minna.
