OBJ: 'The blond is back' and new attitude, too
"Newton Noto Beckham Jr had their own red table talk early on Tuesday. No Jada Pinkett Noble Smith. But that doesn't mean that both of these two were not going to say something that got people's attention. They both used the word humble but coining the context of tired of being humble. Cam Newton said that about replacing Tom Brady, the elephant in the room with the doing the Patriots and Noto Beckham Jr soak office hat and said the blonde is back and said he is tired of being humble. He is tired of playing that game. I don't know if we're going to Jada Pinkett joining them at any time soon, But Cam knew no Dahlbeck. Um do you have there red table talk, and it got plenty of attention, Especially way they use the word humble and the way they wanted to use it being tied of being that way to satisfy others. When it comes to playing football. I don't know if you can hear my eyes rolling in the back of my head right now, But when I saw that first I'm not going to be nice anymore. I saw that I thought was that broke version of LeBron's thing with a shop like that's what I saw, if if anybody wants to do Parody of this, with Victor Cruz leading the conversation, and you've got Odell Beckham looking smug, and it's weird jacket he's wearing Todd Gurley looking like he doesn't know what's going on one side of the table in Cannes, sitting with a cigar in these in these glasses of wine all over the table in the decanter, I mean, It was well done. I'll give him that Odo back him and his production company put this thing together. It was very well. I will say it was great to hear them. Talk about black lives matter Movement and what Corona virus That's very honest things to say about Corona virus and kind of the fear that a lot of people have of playing the season. The athletes at the center of this They are the product. They're the ones who make owners millions and billions of dollars every year yet I think that we missed the mark. Sometimes these were not necessarily considering all the health and safety protocols. Ah, when it comes to them, But so that's the stuff that I actually could get down with. But when the word humble was thrown around, I felt like you know, I needed Kendrick Lamar to come in and just kind of like, walk that back a little bit, because when you talk about the blonde is back and this that and the other thing with Odell Beckham have we not been hearing some version of the same thing for the last 3 to 4 years, Freddie Even before he went to Cleveland. I mean, it's every single season is new Year new Me New Year new Me But silence the haters. Got a You know, everybody wants to be labeled. We want to label something in society because we don't know what it is. And I'm tired of being labeled. Oh, my goodness. I'm tired of hearing this is every single year Put up or shut up, bro. I can't handle it anymore. By the corner. Cronin, Finn Fitzsimmons of Freddie Coleman on Friday and Fitzsimmons and ESPN radio. I said it's for the longest time and every time he does or says something like this without a Beckham Jr It further further confirms my suspicions. He still wants to be in New York. He doesn't want to be in Cleveland. Yeah, he'll say all the right things about the organization. But if he had his way, he still be a New York giant playing in the biggest city in the world when it comes to New York because his personality fits more in New York than it does in Cleveland. He doesn't realize that if he just goes out there because to me, he has way too much talent. So have that kind of mouth promising and making those false promises would come without backup Jr. I'm with you. I don't want to hear about humility I don't want to hear about the blind is back in. All of the nonsense stopped talking about it Be about it because you had that kind of ability and talent. But I still wonder I don't want any more. He confirms it every time Courtney Every time he opens his mouth. It tells me each and every time That he still wants to be in the biggest city in the world. Whether the New York Giants or in New York jet, Cleveland does not fit the personality to me in the mind of Odo Beckham Jr so and you're putting that out there. To me. It seems like he's laying the groundwork that if eyeball out in Cleveland, I want to go somewhere else where I believe my personality is going to fit that city and clear as a great sports city. Put it back on. Gina's realized that if he bawls out in Cleveland and leads into the playoffs and end of a deep run in the play offs, he could go anywhere representing him in a Cleveland Browns, but because he doesn't leave his personality Is suited for Cleveland. He keeps putting stuff out there time and time again to let everybody know I'm a celebrity, and I'm too much of a celebrity for the city that I'm playing it now because I did not want to be traded away from the city where I started my NFL career in the first place, and it's like we've seen the story play out. I said again and again, I mean, think about some of the distractions and think about what happened this offseason with him handing out cash Tol issue players of the national championship and You know, slapping the police officer on the Mac side in Superdome, and you know all of these things. It's like he was quiet for a little bit. And there were some trade rumors before that. I mean, like it or not, there was talks behind the scenes about him trying to get out of Cleveland. I have Pete. You know, sources that I've spoken with people close the situation. I know that it's been debunked allegedly at this point, but at one point that was actually in the works being talked about. It didn't just come out of thin air, so I mean I understand where he's at right now in wanting to wipe the sleep this late, clean because, you know, by his standards, you know he didn't you know, he still was 1000 yard receiving season last year, but he wasn't where he wanted to be. I think that he had different expectations for what his first year Cleveland could have looked like. But you know, the blonde is back. Does that mean that the celebrity and all of the distractions come with it to be as you'll remember? You know that last season in New York in 2018 there were a lot of distractions. There was an interview with Little Wayne where he was talking about his quarterback and essentially throwing him under the bus that created a lot of distractions in the locker room. So I mean, is that coming with it? If you're talking about the blonde is back, because, sadly, we know that this is one of the most talented wide receivers to ever play the game. But beyond that, you know, the blonde has kind of been the demise for him.

Yeah so in recent weeks in in our current time line where we are right now. It seems that the only like sports thing that has happened in the last I. Don't know four to six months. NFL Draft Oh. People were so excited for the draft. It was finally sports thing is. That is live that we can watch. That means something, and it was just so much like it was basically like zoom screens, and they would show like this. Is this draft persons at their house in this draft person at their house and you know. Maybe they got the call, and then they stood up and cheered, and they were on the camera, and that was like people were so excited, just three. Sports. Just want the, and it's not even playing sports show Yeah Rama's of eventually. Yes, going to be able to play sports. Yes, and I talked with our friend Tara Shout Tara. The other day and she was like I'm so excited I'm so excited and looking forward to tonight. And I was like why she said because the bills are gonNA. Release the schedule for the fall. I was like Oh my God so. Late. So I'm trying to do my best to help. Bring some more sports related content to fill that D- to fill Azam because clearly there. Actually I was inspired from a couple of weeks ago and we talked with Father Brad. And he was talking about the new. Orleans Saints, an this. This one play at our liens superdome that really re revived the city Yup and it really made me think and so today we're doing. He could go all the way. This episode is on famous plays in football history I love this. This is great sell. The things going to be talking about they do come up. Trivia they are frequent references, I know that there's a lot of people out there that don't like sports, and then you go great a sports ball question by up like guys. It's fine. It's fine to like pop culture. Yeah, I like sports. It's fine to be a nerd. Whatever like whatever Ya is not a high Falutin. Thing the way that some o pretend that it is and we don't pretend that it's. You know. Oh, my Gosh! No, it's not sit. Nothing is sacred in trivial so anyway. Little Tangent, no, it's totally and you know what not for nothing I'm not somebody who watches sports on a regular basis, but I can appreciate it because you know what sports is just storytelling. It's another version of storytelling. It's a war. It's a battle. It's a battle of wits. It's a battle of strategies. It can be really engaging in. into thread to have in common with people to say like it's uniting about Buffalo. Bills Fan. You're all high liven rock down the street. Same thing like if I'm Pittsburgh and I. Somebody runs through a stop sign and I go to yell at them, but I see that they're stealing. I much less likely to flip out so. Wow, that's something I learned about you actually. Good I'll. Sure to keep that. It's something we all have in common common thread. ETC, so the thing is when you talk about. They come up a trivia. They are commonly referenced There are some of these things have had like big impacts on the sports, world and broadcasting, and that kind of thing, so oh, yeah. We're GONNA stay with the NFL. And I'M GONNA. Go in chronological order so the first one I'm talking about is called the Heidi game. This is November seventeenth, nineteen, sixty eight, and it was the New York jets versus the Oakland Raiders so. Kind of starts out your run of the mill Sunday. Football game between two rival teams, the jets and the raiders it ends up being notable because of its very exciting finish. Oakland ended up scoring two touchdowns in the final minute of the game to win the game, but the game got its name for a decision made by the Games television broadcaster NBC to break away from its coverage of the game, the East Coast to instead broadcast the television debut of the film Heidi causing many years to miss the raiders comeback

A New Declaration of Dependence On God
"This, fourth of July we find our nation more divided than perhaps at any other time since the civil war. That's what happens when a nation abandoned God and Rejects Truth Colson Center I'm John Stonestreet. This break point. On July Fourth, two thousand and four Chuck Colson breakpoint commentary was entitled a New Declaration of dependence reading through it again recently I was struck by just how prophetic his words were as a student of history chuck not only understood the founding principles of our nation, as expressed in the declaration of independence, but he understood on what those principles were grounded. So what happens chuck ass when the foundations are rejected? What happens when religion? Truth and public virtue are all made non essential. What happens when citizens want the benefits of the American experiment without taking seriously what it requires of us will here's Jet Colson from July second, two thousand four. Fourth Celebrates our liberty and national independence. I get through every time I hear. The cannons blast that rousing finale of the eighteen twelve overture, and I got a lump in my throat whenever I join in singing America America. God shed His grace on the. Indeed God has blessed America this nation dedicated to the proposition that all men are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights has endured two hundred twenty eight years. America's the oldest constitutional republic on Earth. But all is not well in our land. When Thomas Jefferson Penn, the immortal words of the Declaration of Independence, he deliberately appealed the creator, or he acknowledged an overriding obligation to nature and nature's got, and he understood that ordered. Liberty is not just a subjective preference, but a divinely ordained condition for which human beings are designed. But. Over the last few decades, legions of skeptics have mounted a massive assault on these self evident Ruth's in prestigious schools in the halls of government, and especially in the Supreme Court. God is banished from public compensation. If a public schoolteacher introduce Jefferson's ideas and language into the classroom today, she likely be called on the carpet, possibly disciplined. This assault on God in public cultures severely damages our democracy. If God is thrown out of our history, we lose our basis for believing that individuals have rights and dignity in an empty universe. We have no meaning no value without God. There are no inalienable rights and no certain proof that liberty is better than tyranny or that life better than death. Everything's a matter of opinion and power. The references to God, the Declaration of Independence provide a foundation for moral argument within civil society and moral truths pervade our founding documents from beginning to end without God is the source of all these moral principles. The Public Square would quickly revert to the law of the jungle. Brutish power would prevail the week. The unborn, the elderly, the gravely ill could be quietly terminated. Much as I enjoy the anthems and fireworks more than that is called for on this July fourth. We need to confess our moral failures in our national sins, repenting of allies of. Killing innocent babies and the elderly. Renewal begins on our knees. It's there. We hear soul searching questions from God himself asking how long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked rescue the weekend needy deliver them from the hand of the wicked. Our nation's founding document declared independence from Britain. But with equal fervor declared dependence upon God expressing firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence. The signers committed the American experiment. Do their maker the spirit of seventeen seventy six was reverence and trust. So as we mark this solemn occasion, let us seek a rebirth of true liberty, which is possible, only when governed by divine law for without God, we could never have liberty and justice for

They were meant to tip the balance, but we haven't really seen them in action much so far. So what have you seen with them? Since and I understand, there are also some issue twenty fours in the region. Yeah so Brennan and I were talking about this. There's only been one confirmed action. "From WBZ CHICAGO. This is nerd. I'm Greg Johnson Good Morning. It is Tuesday April fourteenth. I'm on the floor of my bedroom closet which means this must be another edition of nuts. Introverts guide to the good light all right so today. We're GONNA talk all about podcasts. Because as our guest was hell you you can use them to go to other places you've never been. You can use them to hear some weird comedy or you can listen to get some awesome inspiration of what to do with all the weird stuff that you panic purchased. That's now in your kitchen pantry. And who better to talk about podcasts? Then Nick Qua- he is the podcast expert. He is like the industry EST insider. I know he writes this newsletter called Hot pod and he writes about podcasts. For New York Magazine's Vulture Pop Culture Section. Which is one of my favorite corners of the Internet. Nick Hey how you doing You know I'm hanging in there like like about everybody else It also appears to be that I started taking every everybody else's cliches internalizing it. I am gardening. I am crafts projects. I have tried to improve myself. I'm considering buying chicks It's it's the whole Shebang. Everything is is well. I'm glad you're you're leaning into it. I guess Oh absolutely no no other way. Okay so I asked you to come up with some suggestions for folks and I know I feel like I need to do a disclaimer at the top especially as a person who works in a newsroom. Like there are plenty of like super newsy and especially new like. Corona virus related podcasts. That are out there. I thought it would be a little more fun and a little more like nerdy for you and I to talk about some stuff that Might be more of like a fun. Distraction kind of listen as opposed to like doubling down on pandemic terror. Absolutely absolutely some of us into the abyss and some of us do not what the Senate tibbets so. Yeah when it comes to that idea of sort of like finding a fun pleasurable distraction during these like very deeply unsettling times. What do you got for so I broke? These picks up Into a couple of categories. There are a couple here. That's you know. Explicitly designed to be really cheerful and distracting. This a couple of picks in here. That is more meditative. Because I feel with an extended life in sort of self-isolation right. Now there's a lot of time to feel more deeply and I kind of wanted to pull together a couple of picks that that helped me really do that So let's start with something a little more. Cheerful one of my favorite podcasts. In a long time. Was this sort of Canadian Pike is called personal best from the CDC. It's essentially a self-improvement show for people who don't like self improvement But it actually. Is these two guys who help. Various people try to achieve really small things. Whether it's like somebody who has to get up earlier in the morning to come up with these crazy hijinks at how to help her You know wake up early in the morning and it's you know. Another episode has guided once. We better small talk. They come up with these crazy adventures of like. Let's let's like Jaggi into every grocery store and have you have spoiled composition right now. Incredibly Fun we're going to help you practice some new skills. We're GONNA help you try some things out. We're GONNA help you try and get over this awesome so our plans to have anew wear a wire and then send him into a bunch of shoppers. Drug Mart's shoppers chain sneers. How's that he always goes to? I'm going to buy FRESCA at every shoplift because I love fresca because I called you. Let's get this guy some FRESCA. That sounds so charming to Canadian. So there's like this triple layer of late. Charman goofy isn't up of it. Would you say has at like encouraged you to consider improving your behavior lifestyles at all? I think it's actually helped me it. One of the more unexpected legible. Things about listening to this show is making me realize that like it's much better for me to focus improving little small things about my life as opposed to like the big big things because that's just like a a huge enterprise that's going to take years right now. It could do something as simple as like meditating a little bit more in in the morning and this show can help me kind of go. Oh yeah the small. Things are as important as the big things. And that's that's a really sweeping learnable totally because if you get enough small things together often that is actually the big thing anyway. Right like it's just about breaking down into stuff that makes sense and feels manageable. Absolutely I mean not to get too like philosophical village does feel sometimes that that we are to some of our small things as opposed to two or three big things. You know totally. So how often are you meditating I'm trying twice a day Sam vicious five minutes at a time so it's not not super log all right. What else you got. This one is super chill is perfect thing for you. If you just WANNA chill out and do absolutely nothing and listen to somebody extremely With an extremely militias. Beautiful Voice Redo a mystery. This is the show for you So phoebe judge she's the host of criminal. It's a pack as onorato. Pia about sensibly. It's about crime it's not really. It's it's it's really just little anthropological postcards about people She has his random project that now she just reads you missiles right now at this at this recording it's April ninth she's doing the hands of Baskerville and it's just phoebe judge reading you a district one thing that's been making me feel a little more at ease has been reading fiction. I started reading. Agatha Christie's first published novel the mysterious affair it styles and I thought maybe I could read it to you chapter a day until we get to the end no ads just a good mystery. There's nothing right now that I valued at just a simple did it feels really good and this is exactly what that is loud. That sounds great. So are there like side effects or anything or is it literally just leave her narrating in the closet talking to you and that's fantastic. Tell me about another one Switching into the complete opposite direction I just wanted to give a shoutout to. Wnyc show called the anthropology and reviewed. It's a sort of an essay project. An Essay podcast project by the author. John Green who is a you know is known for Fuller Stars and Writing Turtles. All the way down looking for right. Yeah absolutely And this is a kind of a hard show to explain. The CONC- is that he's like picking out random things each episode about the f Robison otherwise known as d geological age of civilization looming. Right now okay And like rates review about it but John Green being a very accomplished and very good lakes Martin insightful. And soulful writer these these reviews whether it's about like the Taco Bell Breakfast Menu or like sunsets Olmos OAS about these little larger thing that he's GonNa Grapple with in terms of like the nature of being live the nature of our institure food. I recently ate a Taco Bell beefy fritos burrito under the guise of research for this review and for about five minutes after eating it. I felt almost euphoric. The beef was stringy the Tortilla suboptimal. And I suspect I would be horrified by a thorough accounting of the environmental and sociopolitical costs of the beefy Fritos Burrito. But still for those five minutes. I felt pleasantly and entirely satiated. It's it's it's kind of his thesis that like each review or reviews actually a memoir of a kind And ends up being a sort of really interesting segments. A segmented like series of the more essays about world. And it's this right now. It's just like one of those things that I put on a one of these episodes for many many years before again and gives me this longer relationship to time like this dude. Shell passes the thing that people keep saying right now but having reviewing something on a very league could evergreen geological level really kind of puts perspective. That is just magnificent. Yeah that sounds really great. That kind of reminds me of a conversation. I was having with a friend yesterday where she's having a hard time finding a TV show to watch because none of it like is addressing things that are actually happening right now. You know like our daily lives have changed so much over the past month that it's hard to find stuff that like resonates in the right way but that actually sounds like it could be perfect. Absolutely I mean that's such an interesting thing right like I do. Personally find was looking for certain kinds of distractions but it's Kinda hard to watch certain kinds of reality. Tv right now because it sounds like it's so indicative of titles is right here right before us but also like this is not really helping me like coping very inex- in obvious ways. Yeah no it reminds me of ads where like I can't decide if I'm more upset by ads that don't like acknowledge the current place where we are and like nod to that or ads. That's a good point that do you know what I mean. 'cause like I don't know if you've seen there's a Stella Artois ad that I saw an Hulu the other day and it's like all these people like you know celebrating birthdays and hanging out like via zoom or whatever you know some like Internet video APP and like it disturbed me so much to see it. 'cause it was just like. Oh my God like it's real you know but then again to watch like a home depot ad that completely ignores. It is also just like what's happening well. It says his requirements of emotional intelligence from a system. That has rarely been well. I could not have put that better all right. What's your next recommendation floating back into the opposite direction of a little goofy and strange Sitters is this a Sitcom podcast? I think I think that's the way to unafraid. Themselves under British team they make this show called wooden overcoats. But that's not the showed. I WANNA talk about like. They have a really weird smaller projects that they've started publishing earlier this year..

"It's obvious what Joe Joe. Douglas is doing Douglas. The jets okay. So when you think about what The Joe Douglas and GM is doing for the jets. George fant KONTA McGovern and Alex Lewis. All three new offensive lineman so we all kind of knew that this was going to be his forte. That's what he was going to try to do and I think he saving a lot of money. I think he's getting good players. Connor McGovern doesn't really miss any games and he was a former center for the The Denver Broncos said seems like a really good signing for them the big was like he was the best available center. That was still out there yesterday. And you gotTA CONTRACT THREE YEARS. Twenty seven million dollars. You know resigning. Alex Lewis is something I know they. They wanted to do and bring in George fant. Yeah he got a significant amount of money as well so yeah I mean it. And he didn't didn't break the bank when I say significant amount of money. I mean. Sure it's still is nine million dollars or nine million dollars plus per year but He still didn't go out there and set the market with an offensive lineman. He did not give the nate solder contract out to anybody because they were in desperate need no. He was used careful. And you know the question is the the guys that I mean McGovern is going to be fine. He's he's going to be fine. He's going to be the center of That offensive line and they have a legitimate top-end center in the League. Now the question is is is going to be a guy that's going to be as good as he's projected to be. You know it's a former basketball player. That's going to end up playing left tackle one. That's going to be something that obviously jet fans are going to watch. You also signed Bryan pullback one year five million dollar deal and Brian poll was their best defensive back last year. That is a savings. I think that's a win for the jets and now the big question for them is going to be basically Robbie Anderson and Jordan Jenkins. Can they get those guys signed and then you have to wait and see what happens when we get to the draft and after the draft comes to college free agents which is where Joe. Douglas really has done great work especially when he was down in Baltimore with Ozzie newsome they. They had some great off the cuff of college. Free agents that were not drafted that ended up turning out to be really really good player. So I know that Joe. Douglas takes a great deal of pride in that. So we'll see whether or not he'll have some of the same positive impact in that regard for the New York jets moving forward..

He attacked me again so I picked him up and threw him into the grass. I- detained him. I was trying to get my handcuffs on him when the other girl came over and she started attacking me. "Seen this. Is Chris. Wesleyan I'm here with Mark Sizzler. And LAKISHA Jackson. Wesleyan and LAKISHA MOM wrote. Oh we're all here at West Manor recapping ravens over jets and once again. Lamar Jackson sweeping the football bowl nation putting the MVP in the bag in my opinion mark. What say you well? I couldn't agree more. I mean you'd have to. He he would have to be essentially kidnapped. KNAPP tonight with no hope of returning for anyone else at this point to take the MVP award it was. It was amazing. He had sixty nine yards passing with about five plus to go in the third quarter and the jets seemed to be settling on defense not towards victory but just having a little bit of an effect on slowing down the Ravens and then suddenly the big plays came and Lamar Jackson winds up with two hundred twelve yards and five touchdowns through the air and I heard that he Coming down days. Essentially tied the franchise Ravens Record of none other than vinny testaverde from way back in the mid nineties. So I have a feeling the Mar- Jackson's GonNa snap a vinny t's record of old with two games to go. They have already broken franchise records for total. Td's points rushing yards and Lamar. Jackson is doing things no quarterbacks. Ever done and four quarterbacks picked ahead of him last year in the draft. We saw a lot of graphics about that tonight. They they have combined. Those four quarterbacks for three games of three or more touchdown passes this year. Lamar Jackson seven on his own. And he's supposed to be a runner. He broke vicks record in here is leading the NFL in passing touchdowns and just outpacing the other first round picks from his draft by miles and miles. I see a guy that just. He doesn't make mistakes. He doesn't kill you. Some of those other quarterbacks that we're talking about are still dealing with you know rashes of interceptions and and games were. They can't get out of their way. And there's fits and starts and regressions and I think we saw a little bit a little bit of that with Sam darnold tonight darnold or some really good stuff too. I thought the jets offense offense had a chance before the half on a broken down offensive drive to essentially a seven plus minute drive to get back into the game and they just couldn't do it. which has been a hallmark of the jets offense but darnold just does some incredible things here and there too? But Lamar Jackson does it. wire-to-wire minus the slumps the in game slumps he sort of immune to trends and strengths of the other team. The you know the jets came in and and they were allowing about seventy nine yards per game on the ground by twelve minutes into the game. They were already allowing ninety nine. I mean the Ravens. Just put that blitzkrieg on them and they had no answers. And that's true for every team Andrea Andrea. Kramer talk to Greg Williams the jets defensive coordinator before the game and he just said. There's no way to prepare for Jackson in the speed of this offense. You think trae convention had mentioned too that what you watch on tape. Is that unless you get to a point where teams played him three or four or five times the human beings on the field having to deal with his athleticism which is so different person than what you were watching on television. It's you're dealing with a completely different type of human being and essentially a different type of sport on some level level. Where they don't deal with this at all and it's it's a total blitzkrieg in shock and the way they line up like no other team with all those tight ends and you know forcing mismatches watches? We saw Neville Hewitt the poor jets linebacker picked on and coverage over and over again. I I think immediately of the Defensive Pass Pass interference where you've got a linebacker covering covering Hollywood Brown. The fastest player other than the more Jackson on the field. And that was you know a Gimme. Touchdown pass interference occurred in the end zone and you know a few more times throughout the game. It was Hewitt getting picked on markets may safety trying to cover one other water receivers. It was greg out there at some point he might have as good a chance of some these people. So yeah the Greg versus Hollywood Brown in a weight contest. That might be close. I'd want to see it So what else about this game mark. I thought that we did see the ravens struggle a little bit on special teams. Maybe there were special teams game of the year where they allowed some long returns. They had a punt blocked. Justin Tucker even missed. It's an extra point Dan. I'll be upset about that one I think he might be a little bit more upset about Sam Thick and at this point who. I'm not sure his employment in the world of football is going to be lasting much longer longer. We can't fault him for the one missed the one bad snap and and kind of a hold that made him miss the kick but I walked by the illustrious project pat at who he that's his nickname according to mark Ingram really yes. He seems to do something different. Every game plays fullback. Oh Pat Patrick Block. Some kicks quite the the guy. Yeah I thought for the jets that the Ravens got a lot of consistent third-down pressure on Sam Darnold and he was up to the task quite a bit. He he evaded pressure and still made some first downs. He had them on the move in the first half and for a while the the total yardage was pretty even it really was and they. They've not been a team team. They've been essentially defunct on third down the way bad teams are and at one point they converted. It wasn't all through the air five in a row and I just thought that darnold again they they hung around and on defense. James Burgess too big third down stops and Rose Marie exactly where you were just waiting for the jets is to get another score to pull it in but I just even so and it probably was a frustrating game for jet fans as most of these have been because you know that at some point that the Ravens are I'm GonNa hit it and explosive period again and then the score at the end showed that they just they just got super hot in the second. Half and Lamar Jackson through the air. And you know it's it's it we've talked talked about on our show. Have the ravens hit some sort of a slump or you know. Can they keep up their hot streak. You can see little moments where that questions relevant but unless less they have a terrible night like tonight on special teams that could've easily put another touchdown or two on the board here. They've been around. You know this as well as anyone for about twenty five years now and about twenty. Five percent of their forty point games in history have occurred this year. A quarter of their thirty forty point games. They have occurred with Lamar Jackson in one season. He's and out of those twenty five. That might be the most amazing stat out of all the amazing Lamar Jackson stats this year. Well their offense tilted and they in the end under Ozzie. newsome they struggle to find wide receivers and targets did tight ends and they certainly had nothing in the realm of quarterback like this. I want to know what the woman to your right thinks about this game. Oh my favorite part was my mom honestly. I had her come in there and watch the Erin Andrews pace with Lamar Jackson and Mark Ingram and just explaining like who he is. And we explain the whole Mike Vick record. And how all these quarterbacks were taken before him and then she just got so pumped up like it was just yeah. It was awesome some tweets and that was Hashtag road. Would you mind telling US give us a few just a few thoughts on it you can just you can free will at anything. You want to say well I just WANNA WANNA say that. Hey Lamar Jackson have my drilling going. I met this age now. I just don't want my drilling going book when my daughter described to me about Lamar Jackson is like I got to see him. She tell me. Where are we GONNA fly? Yes talking about getting our boss talking into our boss. I'm a I'm going to talk to your boss. Get Super Bowl tickets. I'll be that bold about it. Yes I say I would do anything to see the more Jackson. He was just that good. I mean he he goes out on and he just knows where he's throwing that ball and and he just knows where he's running and where he's going like he can see the whole field and that's how he played just yes. I'm just so amazed them mesmerized by him it's like he was awesome and the The turnover it's my favorite exchanges tonight. Rotas said alright. Ravens do some ghost place and he. What's IT ghost? Plane wrote a preceded delay. Exactly what play action pass means and yes and the more played them goes play so well I mean us. I'll be like okay. Where's the ball? I can see actually is like. He just has me so mesmerized. I can see just every little snapping any other time I play the game. I'm like where's the ball I. I don't know but hey he was really good and not just like the interceptor by number thirty six which the ball were ten to four brown eighty seven avenue and it was like wow look at these players I mean. Hey Hey you got me. I'M GONNA be watching you all the way through and you go all the way you know what I like that you oh you. You were able to ascertain things that people who don't watch football regularly would not have picked up immediately. You said what I love about this ravens team just from watching him one time time. Good teamwork there so supportive of each other. They're they are so enthusiastic for each other. And you see that with Ingram and Lamar Jackson anytime. They're interviewed they just have that Camaraderie and the whole city being swept into it like you know the first drive of the game. They're chanting MVP. Already because Lamar is marching down the field. It's like I'm a browns fan and they in the Ravens road. Hashtag road came from the Cleveland Browns. And that I did. I could not stand the concept of the Ravens for up until a couple months ago and I have a seven year old boy and he's watching the Mark Jackson and having the seven year old version of your reaction. I think he's making new fans at a people that would be disinterested otherwise. And and I'm trying to explain to my seven year old. Not Every quarterback looks like this in fact nobody does. This is a rare thing that you're watching right now so steelers fans talking about you know all can't help it like how can you not love Lamar like he just draws you in like he so exciting to watch kids can we. Can we get you wrote it to get on twitter and to get a twitter account because because you'd quickly at based on that speech have about fifty thousand followers. Oh well we can change. We can change post pictures of her but I knew if I the moral Jackson way he played never know. Hey days aerobraking just take it for right now. He's a mold tim but we never know..

"Well, it just so happens. We got some breaking news really to talk about here. It seems like there's been a game of thrones palace type coup with the New York Jets realize they have fired their GM. Mike. That guy's name again. Mcgettigan monica. All right, anyway, he's gone and VP of player personnel. Brian Heimer drinker and Adam gaze is the jets. Interim GM thoughts. Wow. So Adam it, well, you know, what? My thoughts initially are is once they saw that introductory press conference. They were they recognized. That guy's got an eye for talent. Yeah. And I there and I over there, and I up and down, right? He's got is. He's got Bette Davis is I mean that guy has got like that the weirdest introductory press conference ever. But like, I'm buddies with Adam I'm like, you know, I'm buddies with Adam gays, so at least I think I am he kinda quits. He kinda quit return to my text messages. Maybe because I made fun of his is it's like to me, maybe we're not buddies. Maybe we just acquaintances like you should be like, I should give you grief for that. Right. If we're friends if you can't take that that's on you because you're the one that looks like immediate. That wasn't me. That's you. So if you can't take it, then you know, what? Frankly, I don't wanna be your friend. If you don't have balls enough to take that. Because listen if you and I are really a four boys like if we really are boys. And you do something that's stupid that ridiculous. And I don't make fun of you. It means. We're not boys. It how the guy code, right? I'd be hurt. If you didn't. Right. That's exactly right. Like the like dudes like I've heard this joke in this going to be completely inappropriate. And then people are going to get mad at me and say, I'm insensitive prick. But here's the way, it goes, Mike, and I heard this somebody told me this one a long time ago, the main difference between men and women is that men get together. And they just I mean, they hammer each other incessantly with schist nastiness, right? They make fun of each other. They're just mean to each other. They are breaking each other's balls. And they mean. Absolutely. None of it and women get together and their incessant with the amount of compliments that they pay one another. They talk about our non say looking with great outfit that is. And all and they mean, absolutely none of it. That's the difference. So I know you don't really love me unless you're breaking my ball. Right. That right on percent. Let's how we are. We get together. Every year. I have a vandal reunion trip. You do with your guys, you're.

"But don't come to me if you're a New Yorker, pointing the finger at Sam darnold and blaming him. I'm not saying he was perfect. He was far from it. He wasn't even impressive. And that interception. That interception at two over the middle and double coverage with inexcusable. It was amateur written all over it. No question about it. And I got that. What does a lot of blame to go around to the New York Jets show Bert in theft thing him off of that terrible pass that Sam Donald because curse was double covered. And we get that. Everywhere you've said. Maybe you shouldn't have concussed. Tyrod Taylor might have helped you Moore's clayborn. Could we hold down. On a holding penalties. That would be nice. Trick play to Phillies special. Do Johnson flipped it to Jarvis Landy who throws a path? Baker Mayfield an insult to Todd on a two point conversion. The jets had miscommunication, whatever the hell you wanna call it. Todd Bowles, they call said, excuse won a few penalties. We had. We gave them life before to have. We had two of them. We have one day on a two point conversion that we had no business happy, and we let them back in the game and some some key penalties and it costs us. We lost DACA poacher. I am happy for the Cleveland Browns. I think they'll beat Oakland in Oakland next week unless Jon Gruden father pass, rush. Well, let's see what they do. Let's see what make a may feel does particularly in the weeks to come against Baltimore against the charges on the road against Tampa Bay in Pittsburgh. Even though Pittsburgh they got back to back by weeks as far as I'm concerned against defenses, says Pittsburgh on October twenty eighth and Kansas City at home on November. Fourth would be back to back games in a by playing defense in that game, not on that side of the ball. Cleveland might play divas not those two teams. But I'm just saying, let's pump the brakes. Let's calm the hell down the stop acting like Baker Mayfield is Joe Montana and Sam Donald is subtly Ken O'Brien. Let's stop it. Three days to prepare for Greg Williams defense. Let's be fair it at eight. Say ESPN. It's edited seven to nine, three, seven, seven, six, seven now. So I wanted to get into. Odell Beckham, junior, and his comments about the New York Giants. He's not happy and I applaud him for not being happy. Neither is Antonio Brown. Both of them had a lot to say. Both of them had a lot to say and I don't blame them one bit. This is Beckham talking. I feel there's no way you can't score a touchdown in every quarter and then one somewhere else. It just doesn't seem unrealistic to me. I feel personally I could score two touchdowns every game. I feel like saquon score to every game. I feel like this other people on this team who can score every single game that's over thirty five points. It's just a matter of executing they're making it happen. Really it doesn't seem out of reach in my mind. I don't want to win twenty four twenty one. I'm trying to win fifty two eighteen. Nobody said it had to be close. He's complaining and he's right Odell Beckham junior is a superstar. He's a superstar talent. He can't do much because he can't get involved. The question is, why do you point the finger at Eli manning and put primarily the blame on his shoulders? Or do you look at that offense of line Gettleman and Sherman and others have not put together? I got news for you, Eric plows into only problem at at right, tackle on the giants offense of line. What the hell is state sold the done. I don't think he's been that impressive in his pass blocking ally manning certainly might be holding onto the ball a little bit longer. He might be indecisive because he might be scared. Now aged thirty seven, having taken a punishment that he is taking. I've never seen ally manning look at shell shock like a deer coordin- headlights the way he looked last Sunday. No question about it. And the end may be near far much sooner than later than we thought when it comes to ally manning which brings into question whether or not the giants made the right decision..

"Less i think invested in confident in where the jets can go than they are in where the browns can go will and and when you talk about the cap space at this point most reports have the jet sitting somewhere around ninety million which is a staggering we talked yesterday a little bit about how teams just find it now right the jets at ninety million in caps base cleveland came in to this off season with one hundred eighteen million i mean you think about that that's a that's a such a hard to believe a team with one hundred and eighteen million cap space would have zero wins sorry that's it that's one hundred percent make sense remarkable how that works out i'm also worth noting though dion sanders is tweeting out i love what the browns have done this offseason but if i'm a young quarterback ain't no way i'm going to cleveland i would pull an ally manning if possible hashtag think about that hashtag truth and carlos hyde himself back in twenty eleven the newest member of the browns tweeted out cleveland sports or horrible ll which is inevitable right i think anybody who's ever gone to a cleveland team is at one point in their lifetime tweeted on social media about terrible cleveland is and yet they end up there i get what dion saying and i get what carlos hyde was saying in twenty eleven but i don't know that you've got an argument that's better for the jets if i were to ask him if your quarterback you wanna go there the other side of it that you don't have from either of these franchises is in the indication that they can develop a young quarterback that's the one concern to as much as yesterday i chided the jets as a franchise for not drafting will a quarterback let's face it the browns haven't exactly seize the opportunity either so so you have to look at it from a young quarterback standpoint and say man that is a difficult piece of this where can i go and grow i don't know you're listening to spain and fitz on espn radio presented by progressive insurance getting a quote is easier than ever by the.
