"You by jessica alba so shall we start off with some feedback from folks who've read the honest. Yes i think that is a very good place to start with the source material. Yes ama- has this to say. I read the honest a few years ago. When i was first dabbling with efforts to be more eco friendly. I liked that jessica alba was very non-judgmental in admitted that she also wasn't perfect. I think if. I've read a more hardcore echo guide. I would have felt it was impossible but thanks to her. I made some changes. Not big shattering ones. But i do try to use more earth friendly cleaners and consume less plastic than i used to. Oh that makes me happy to hear. I mean the way. I feel about it. Anything that makes us cut down on plastic usage and be a little kinder to the earth. You know that that is a good verdict. So am i really glad it worked for you. But not everyone that the advice jessica alba makes that much sense kristen. Yeah marley had this to say. I try to live with as little environmental impact as i can. However i have some issues with instructions like those given by jessica alba and the clean living movement. I hate the tactic of. Don't use products with ingredients..

Perez Hilton Confesses He Hooked Up With John Mayer

"After years of slamming celebrities, Perez Hilton says he has some serious regrets, but he's also up a ton of new trouble. No surprise in his new memoir my life and scandal says he regrets hurting so many people with his website but that's not stopping him from making new planes about celebrities according to page six who got an early look at the book Peres writes about his on and off friendship with Lady Gaga he accuses her of using him to get back at her caters. He says God I didn't ask him to write nasty things about people but quote by moaning to me she made me feel like, i. her best friend. Should do something about it. He also says they stopped talking after an interview he did with her in two thousand eleven and eventually Gago called him a creepy stalker. It's good. All right and that is not all Peres also talks about hooking up with John Mayer in a tooth out in in in two thousand seven in a club. So that was for you years. Later, John did. Admit to kissing Peres during an interview with playboy, we reached out to John and dog for comment but have not heard that that was a lot to unpack you lots of reading. Let me ask you this. Do you think for as truly regret saying that things that he did. Are you man, you're the only person who has not made. This. Point by the way I, don't understand how this man is literally like every gender and I could make one small suggests into Bob Saggy. He's not interested in I said, okay. Well, that's cool. Now pissed about it it's ridiculous. And now it's too late. He'll go anywhere at anytime but unfortunately, not for you Morgan Stewart's. Because taken off the market. Will now I'm very now there's two of US know literally. I feel bad for them because I feel like Mario is one person. He's very nice. He's very you know deep and I think Perez Hilton is a second person and I think what happens is Press Hilton started this website and started getting all this attention for all the nasty things that he said about celebrities and I think what happened after that was all these other websites you know started popping up and he Created the genre. People would be able to forgive them but they wouldn't be able to forgive them because he kinda was the birthplace of this nasty snotty as a situation

"The Maisonette with Kevin Nation. I saw a celebrity news item the other day that I just shook my head actress Jessica. Alba was talking about the fact that when she was on with the Hills 90210 back in the early nineties mid-nineties. She was on just starting out in her career and was on as a kind of a guest actress for a couple of episodes and was instructed not to make eye contact with any of the Stars either behind the scenes are while on camera earlier this year. We heard all about the backstage world of the Ellen DeGeneres television show where people aren't allowed to make eye contact with her either and I just kind of shake my head. I've actually heard that through the country music off for a couple of artists. I won't name them cuz they're still going strong and I don't know if it's actually true but they've said you weren't supposed to make eye contact with them backstage unless you were told to it's just kind of sad to me I contact is very important. Let them know you respect them. You acknowledge them and you can make eye contact without going any further. It's kind of a sign respect released. I think it is but I think we're going to see more and more of those about Bad actors if you will about bad celebrities because right now that's the world we're living in bath.

Why Learning to Say "No" Will Accelerate Your Success

"Welcome to another episode of Marketing School I'm Eric. Su and I'm Neil Patel and today. We're GONNA. Talk about why learning to say no will accelerate your success. Let's reframe this real quick and early days Neil when you're starting out as an entrepreneur. You would always look at the newest opportunities. And what would you do about those opportunities? I always said not always what most cases I said. Yes, and that's what ended up causing me to do one too many things derailing my focus and funny enough 'cause less success over time I think what Neil's also saying is a lot of us become more and more successful. You're going to have more and more opportunities coming your way, and you can either accept the fact that you're. You're drowning in opportunity, or you can do something about it and say no more and funny enough Steve Jobs said this in the past. He says what's really lead to apple. Success was the ability to say no. They said no way more things than they said yes to. And when he first came back to apple after he was fired, he shut down many different product lines, and that's just the basis of it. It's really saying no all the opportunities that you're drowning in. When you say no, and you end up focusing on the stuff that really matters. That's when you double down I was once talking to entrepreneur name Brian Lee, and he created a company called shootout with Kim Kardashian before that was legalzoom, and the most recent one was honest company with Jessica Alba. And I remember years and years ago I. Don't know Bryan while at all I. don't even know him really by interviewed him for my blog years and years ago, and he mentioned one thing that really resonated with me, and he said you need to have super laser focus only tried to do one thing at a time and the moment your growth slows down and you can't get it to keep growing. That's when you expand until then you just stick with what you're doing. Yeah more Buffett and Bill Gates when they first met I believe this is a story, or this wasn't when they first met someone albums. Like what's the secret to your success? They both wrote down one word on a piece of paper and flip it over, and they said focus was the main obey. And the other thing to do just to give more examples. You look at Zillow. You look at glass door. You look at all those companies it's who's the one guy that started all those companies again rich partner. Expedia, glass, door and Zillow, yeah, but he focused on each one. He didn't try to do all of them. At the same time, he took the domain expertise that he had is like I. Know How to build a two sided marketplace. I know how to take advantage of Joe I know that there is a gap in the marketplace attack that so he used the same thesis three times, but he didn't try to do them all at the same time and I can tell you. These guys are older and more experienced than I. can say Neal My. We're getting older. We're not up there yet with them. We don't have the. The experience that they have yet, but I can tell you as Neela I've gotten older. We've gotten better at saying. No, I'll say better than before, but still trying to get better at it. It's hard because we all have the shiny. Object Syndrome. And when you learn to say no, it'll make you really understand what you should be focusing on. Because there's so many opportunities out there. In many cases, we missed the ones that are the best ones because we say. Yes, to so many that we don't spend enough time uncovering the true potential of anyone, business or anyone, strategy or anyone concept, and the same goes with your marketing. Even in the air. Can I talk Omni Channel? Yes, you should go omni channel, but focus on one or two marketing tactics out once doom, really well before you expand into all in because there's not enough time in the day to do everything perfectly well, unless you have a massive team, the other thing is I would google the T. sheets, marketer, and really understand as a marketer that you should try to go deep on one. One thing and then you try to expand and get a little more breadth, but the depth is what you really want to folks when people talk about what Neal's known for Seo or what I'm doing for I think largely people was. This is weird, sometimes WANNA go speak at a conference. They don't know what to call way, so they called me an seo extraordinary and I don't know where the hell they got that from. The same problem yeah. Seo Eric. All right. Put into this box, but I guess that's what we know and Belize pisses me off sometimes when I'm lying. Put into a box, but you have to be okay with that because you try to be everything being nothing

Linda Cardellini on new Netflix show, 'Dead to Me'

"Hi, everybody. I'm Peter Travers this popcorn where we tell you what's happening in the culture. And my guess today's Linda Cartolini, who is having a year of years, first of all green book wins the Oscar as best picture, you know, that's pretty great. And then basically, you do a horror film, cursive, love Ronin becomes number one over the Easter weekend. And now you have a series on Netflix called dead to me, which is secret is that other little indie movie made this year called ventures endgame? Tiny movie. You know, that's why we're here we, we wanna push that kind of thing, you gotta help that one out. But dead to me. Is this like wonderfully interesting show where I've read talk to some people say, but I don't know what it is. Is it a comedy? Is it a drama? And I keep saying what's life, right? Yeah, yes. All of those things. But so that I don't get in major trouble. Okay. You set up, what did to me is, we jokingly call it a trauma D, because Trump so that they go through. And it's about these two people myself and Christina Applegate, who meet at a grief group and become unlikely friends. I'm very free spirited sort of optimistic person and she's very guarded angry widow, and, and we've both done through tremendous loss. But we both have secrets that were keeping and, and in major complications in our characters that make it interesting. And, and so it sort of unraveled from there. But the thing that I loved about. It as you can't define the tone of the show or the Jon Rao of the show. It doesn't really fit in a box, so shimmy ends where I go, what I know that I love that. There is a suspense element to it that it wasn't just these two characters to, to females that you could kind of inner change your line. They're very separate very defined characters that sort of lock in on this intimate relationship. But then it's a character story. But it's also that a lot of plot. So that, you know, twists and turns, and I can barely talk about it because everything is a spoiler. Have you ever said the phrase, the title of this any other human in your life? You're dead to me. No, no. I have. Yes. I know it's, it's a good one, though is it's, it's tough somebody's dead to somebody. That's while you're still living. Of you. Women in this show have many reasons six. Yes. Absolutely. To absolutely no careful. I was Hank, you I very much appreciate, well, you basically, and Christina Applegate r. The controlling forces of this show. You know, you could just say, hey. I didn't like episode four improve at USA. Know how diva esque. Or she actually where near not just in general, which is nice is something we actually get along about. I think for big team players. So that was really fun and important to me going into the project because you, you work if you were going to series, you work with people for a long time. So I wanted to be sure that I really enjoyed the people I worked with, and she's amazing, Liz Feldman. Who's the creator in the show. Runner is incredible. Her mind is incredible. Her is incredible her heart is in is, is genuine, she's a wonderful person. And so a she, it's her vision and her bay. We have brilliant writers and staff and everything, but really choose at the head of it all. And it's very easy to trust her. So we just sort of give you know, ju- given before they had never met really look that in one way. It's very right for the series. Yeah. Yeah. 'cause you don't. Yeah, but there's such an easy -ness of between the two of you there. Is and I was so grateful, because it just happens or at dozens and the first time we met, we both were signed on to do it. And we had lunch with Liz, and Jessica, Alba motor, our producers who we both know we both worked with the different movies, and they both said, you know, you guys are gonna love each other, and we met, you know, people say that often, and then you meet somebody, like, okay, you know, it takes awhile to get to know somebody, but we really instantly felt like we knew each other and, and it's been very, very easy to be with her and to, to do this with her and, and she really has my back and I have her, so it's, it's a wonderfully worked beautifully. I couldn't be more

"Durant in the morning show. While Sebastian minutes cow go. Here's the problem too quick background thing. So we thought to be a funny bit to play one of Sebastian's funniest stories from his tour and then say, don't you hate Sebastian, when people try to tell your story and be funny as you, here's an example. And then we had great t in our imaginary chuckle hut, comedy club, the name Chuck lot. Hell Sebastian Mattis. Cal co of story. A joke. Well, so the idea was for you to get up there and like be horrible, but you've messed it up by being actually kind of funny thought it was breeding horrible because I didn't do it the way he does. It matter the way the way you told it in your interpretation of history was actually funny. Yeah, wasn't van, but none. But the problem with that is the bit failed because you were kind of good. I don't even know what to do, then I don't even know how to fail anymore. I should have that down. Come on. I was in barrister I was I was nervous. 'cause I knew he was sitting right there staring right at him. I'm like, oh my God. "I'm at our guest today in China in Hong show to be specific will both speakers at jock MAs I women's conference and that it is absolutely amazing to hear her inspiring story of being one of the few women I ever met who are able to jog out to incredibly successful careers and to have the Dassanayake to launch an entirely new career after one successful career, Jessica Alba. It's so wonderful to have you on our podcast and to learn from you on this journey as a mother as an enterprise as an actor as a wife. As if friend, all these multiple rounds that women are learning to inhabit all. At the same time. Right. So let me start by saying, what was it that made you decide to launch the honest company? Gosh, it was just something that I had to do. I was pregnant with my first child about eleven years ago, and I had an allergic reaction to a product that my mother recommended that use that was, you know, really marketed for babies. And I quickly in that moment might childhood came back to me and I remembered as a child how sick I was. So people don't know that about me because they only know me after I become successful as an actress. But as a kid, I spent a lot of time in hospitals with chronic illnesses as my allergies was the most consistent one that landed me in the house. But I had many surgeries in complications with appendix and I had cysts and I had kidney problems. So I had just lots of issues, and I had this baby in my belly and I was like, oh my gosh, my child could get sick or be sick. How am I going to, you know, really make sure that she doesn't as best as I can..

"Business podcasts, visit c desk, sweet radio dot com. My guest with me today is Tiffany Bova. Hi, Tiffany. How are you? I'm fantastic. Thank you for having me today. I'm super excited. I'm super excited about this because you wrote a great book. But before we get into that, let me do the formal introduction, Tiffany, Bova and I'm going to spell her name right out of the gate because I want you type in it, not while you're driving, but as you're, you've got some place while you're typing her name and her dot com has her website. It's t. I f. f. a. n. i. Bova b. o. v. a. now people in the know will already know who she is, but let me do a formal introduction. Tiffany Bova is the global customer growth in innovation evangelist at Salesforce and was previously VP distinguished analyst and research fellow with Cartner. Tiffany has interviewed guests ranging from Dan pink to Arianna Huffington on her. What's next podcast? I'm going to pause there for a minute. You want to write that down. She has a podcast called what's next? What's next podcast? And her insights have helped companies like Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, oracle SAP del an Amazon, including Amazon web services among them, and she has helped them. So I think we have something to talk about and Tiffany has written and outrageously good book. It's called growth. IQ get smarter about the choices that will make or break your business. No, Tiffany. I want to say one other thing and then you're going to take over. Here's what I want to say. Okay, I'm ready. I read well over one hundred books a year, and I do well over a hundred and fifty business interviews a year. I want to announce to the world that. Your book is one of the best business books I have ever read. Wow, thank you. And I expect this interview to be awesome. So the book again, is growth. IQ get smarter about the choices that will make or break your business. So let's put the context in this way. You talk about context, combination and sequence. So start us out by talking about those three things. Well, thank I. Thank you for what a great amazing comment to make about the book. I worked really hard on it, so it's always nice to hear that the baby's not ugly. So that's always a baby, very, very attractive. But what I did and how I landed on that was I like you read a lot a business lot of business books, and I wanted to see what was missing from what I was consuming as I was on my own journey, right? Because I read to make myself better whether it be on managing or understanding certain trends, etc. And and what was missing for me was the house side of growth and what makes it different from one to the other? So how can people actually put into action

"Now, on today's podcast, you are in for a treat because doctors, we've got the founders of the LA hot spots that are there frequented by Justin Bieber. I know they're awesome. I've been looking at them online. I wanna go have my next birthday party. Katy Perry, I'm not a name dropper. Jessica Alba named her Nick, Jonas nut name-dropping. But you guys have built a a variety of restaurants in hot spots that are the favorites for the A-List celebrities. So John in Brian, welcome onto the thrive time show what great things are happening there and beautiful southern California. Thank you. Good to be here normal day running around. Well, I respect that. I respect that John. I want to ask you. I was reading the Forbes article where you were explaining what it took to build the thirty five million dollar nightclub empire and restaurant business, but I know that our listeners would would love to hear it directly from you before the success. John. Can you take us back to where you and Brian, I started your empire. Yeah, you know, we, we both kind of fell into what we're doing and isn't doing less than anyone out there who is young and it's firing or looking to change for years or whatever it is because we basically fell into something we both love and not sure leading were were naturally doing. We both grew up together and allay. We both went to USC and we naturally kind of started throwing events and parties on our own. Brian started a really big event concert type of promotion company. I was handling kind of EJ's and started my own promotion of company, and then we realized that we actually love this could actually be a business. So we opened a nightclub together that we didn't own, but we ran and it was called. The x. we were really the the key parts to making it successful at the end of the day, you need any people to to make a place crate. So we were the ones bringing clever -ties buyers and everyone we realize it can do it on our own. So we raise money from our friends and family. We live, I lived in my parents house and really sprout everything together. And that's how we started. And we are our notion, then that state to all the way today was we were going to build places that are are close friends and families are poor. People wanted to be at and make a home and from their extended to their friends and family and so on. And that's how that's how we've modeled our whole company. Now, Brian, when you first founded the h would group over a decade ago with John, I understand that the first club you opened in Los Angeles, we left the x club was shook down for being a. A public nuisance am I correct? They're getting something wrong because the querying minds the thrive nation. Yeah. It actually wasn't LAX. It LAX. We just sort of ran the promotions at our first club where we raise all the money was actually called h. would. And that one did get shut down for being a public nuisance. Essentially, we were really good at what we did, and we had a lot of people show up. We had you know, capacity issues. We had people leaving the club's strong making too much noise vomiting street. Unfortunately, we were next to a bunch of apartment buildings, so it was not the best place for nightclub. And the neighbors started to complain about us ended up fighting with the city, and they eventually did declare us a public nuisance you to share for share flown. Exactly. So I guess out there go ahead. We had. We had people camping out with Rossi camping on the grass. I mean, it was it was a real issue and we fought it for a full year and then it up declaring at a public nuisance, stripping it of to be able to be anything nightlife related. So then whenever you opened up the the next one, why did you not stay with h would is the name of it? That one that one got shut down. So the second place we were in construction and at our second place at the same time, which was called Las Palmas. And so we just continue. But we always kept the name for our h with group based off of the name of our first venue. So you stayed loyal to the name. The name of the group just of moved on is a venue. I want to ask you this Brian. It seems like a lot of entrepreneurs who aren't named Walt Disney because Walt Disney lost it all multiple times..
