"Spring break text in in their favorite vacations the love the simple segment which we've done a couple of times here on WGN just it's very simple concept tell me about your vacation tell me about your vacation three one two once you're just and you give your kids a voice in picking a vacation just telling pack your stuff you're going to play a question probably pack your stuff I think in some cases there have been choices that were already picked you want to go here here here kind of thing and then they said this now I want to know how about this one we went to Florida for a number of years with my parents when miles was a young baby you know up to six years older selector Naples which I found a lot about Naples I found Jerry Taft is driving over there remember that that story but Naples is a golf community and it's it's a community that is pretty old in a good way but it's it's a lot of people that live there the town shuts down so was always funny that one of the nights was date night for me my wife because would be like that my parents would would keep miles at home that kind of thing and we would hit the town it be seventy o'clock at night we need to enter in to be like you walk in there to one of the restaurants on the strip in maybe like yeah I guess we could do one more your leg I guess we can do I guess we're not because the kids are closed they close at eight fifteen what it doesn't have that that late night Chicago vibe but beautiful beaches the one thing I remember about Naples that was the is that I would I would I was a kid we would take spring breaks great vacations one time we win I got into some weird fascination with marine biology I would think it was maybe twelve or thirteen I said I want to be a marine biologist I wanted to study dolphins a kid from the Midwest in wonder lake going on you know what I want to own a swim with the whales and we went out west tenth and Pacific Ocean and one time to the Atlantic Ocean I just spent the whole time with binoculars trying to just get a just a glimpse of a dolphin right all right whale something cool seal a limited to seal in Naples the dolphins our like pan handlers there are two or three of them to just hang around the pier there like months Mike Fridley feral cats that thank you have tuna so they're just hanging around and the first time what's neighbors my whole look it's a dolphin I thank my my mind had been blown like we got so lucky and day one and then by the fourth year we were in Naples I might get to see get out here shoot she I don't know if that's the case maybe people in Florida are just not that enamored with the marine life I really thought when I saw the phantom like this is it I finally get to see a dolphin numbers like these dolphins are part of the show they're begging for food a near and dumb there's a lot of fishermen around the then I started thinking my head of like where my parents just didn't take me this kind of stuff here we are like in nature but along the cliffs are the rocks number I'm the can't find a dolphin insight they were taking me to the the mainstream peer all the dolphins just hanging out but can San Francisco all the seals right the sea lions just hanging out so I can't tell if it was just dumb luck or I just was steered the wrong direction by my parents seven seven three says you and George Costanza the sea was angry that day my friend eight four seven says I go to Florida done a few times did some spring training games in especially in Tampa and Orlando can be fun three one two says in the spring of two thousand seven my wife son I went to Oahu stay in the rainbow tower of the Hilton Hawaiian village with a gorgeous view looking up Waikiki beach diamond head Sir all things that I have heard but they don't mean anything to me I'm not a huge Hawaii guy know what that even means nothing was a huge magnum PI Canada but all those things right there are iconic and I I know I can place them we rented a jeep drove around the island swimming at various beach is the highlight through was going to the property they used as robin's nest in the old magnum PI show that's also we spent a couple hours swimming in the title pool by the way the property was sold to president Obama's friend Marty Nesbitt they tore it down in the rumor is the Obamas are gonna use it as their vacation residence Steve yeah there you go it's a political rumors in there too why not right Marty Nesbitt was on this program should ask them about it before we go I know we're talking about the Obama foundation in the Obama center the Hilton head diamonds diamond diamond stake had three one two nine eight one seventy two hundred phone or talking about vacations and I want to move on but I got also talk revocations all night long I love it I talked to the beginning of the show about the store that blur came in had which I think is one one the best columns I've read all week the column is a blur came easy architecture critic for the Chicago Tribune does fasten it does a great work does me so is writing good stuff the column today was is Chicago's fear of fire having nearly one hundred fifty years after the great fire this city steps gingerly into innovative mass timber what starts the column would is having a moment in the world of architecture other cities including Milwaukee Minneapolis are going all in on an innovative type of wood would boosters claim takes less energy to produce and concrete or steel it's not stick like two by fours it goes by the catch all phrase mass timber which encompasses a series engineered wood products that are laminated nails are pressed together to form solid high strength wood panels typically mass timber forms the internal structure of the building is left exposed like old lofts walkie is breaking ground on a twenty five story residential tower that we billed as the world's tallest mass timber structure well and last week when related Midwest announced it was gonna start construction on the seventy eight the mega project and the Chicago River the developers president hinted that the project's first phase concludes low rise office building supported by mass timber while we're which times the only problem any mentions this in the place to think that we are being foolish enough to say you know what we would be so cool it's the hip it's the hip building material today and not recognize that the great Chicago fire of eighteen seventy one incinerated vast stretches of the city because all of it was built by what we changed modern architecture because we did not want to be in a position where a fire could of disarray an entire downtown area until the new developers are like you know would be cool would you know what's retro you know it's making a comeback would I don't know I feel about that as a student Chicago history I'm doing this architecture program or project with my son for is history fair about architecture before and after the fire they went out of their way to recognize the role would played in why a whole entire downtown Chicago was burned to the ground the biggest moment in this city's history they changed the city building because it changed everything everyone just decided has to be stealing when do sprinklers all that kind of stuff and to think that someone in twenty twenty would introduce a much more efficient much better way to build buildings and it and really have no concept or recognition of what happened in the past I find that to be down right shameful and I'm sure I'm I'm not dumb I I you know the Texas a common sense a different kind of it was a different day they have sprinklers all that kind of stuff no a certain point this is blasphemy build would at the idea that first of all those mega projects the Lincoln Park the one the Lincoln yards one we talk about that tonight and seventy eight also state they're getting so many tax breaks and so many favors from the city to do these projects it just blows my mind they would build something out of wood and just I don't know it's it's a it's almost like I know it sounds I know people like get over it but it feels like a flipper that the flip the chan to Chicago's history like you know but I think your history I'm gonna build would everything we would swimming pools would you could use these would tables I get so mad about it four one two says the sidewalks were would in Chicago when the fire hit yeah this I mean and you know they're gonna do that down on the new projects to be like oh yeah you know the great right here boardwalk nice wood boardwalk sideboard there yup defying us right into a moment of late nineteenth century history that's what they said seven seven three it's fashionable that's scary to think about and maybe I I get it I'm I completely overreacting all you're texting in agreeing with me but I just feel like there's something that you just I'm trying to think of analogy or metaphor please help me out three one two nine eight one seventy two hundred yeah it's like when you're you're from Salem Massachusetts you know you'll be great what if we just did like of which festival like maybe not you know there's a lot of history and riches here I did send a good bet for who's the same concept right is this idea that maybe there are some things that are so sacred history that even if you're gonna build and you're gonna get city money mess around with that stuff Hutch says feels like flipping the chin a flip the chin to all of us in our history three one two nine eight one seventy two hundred you think of that in my overreacting I feel like I'm overreacting but you can back me up we'll take a break stay with us at quicken loans are seventeen thousand team members know that home is so much more than a house that's because our clients tell us all the time Hey this is Jay Farner CEO of quicken loans and we.

"Yeah yeah a player and seven twenty W. Jennifer talking to the Kevin Matthews about his new book broken merry age journey of hope now calve I know always been speaking of which a cross to bear I her gym shorts is now in the studio yeah I I IM and eat yes I am I wish you you can use my real name big bags Richard bags okay it is but or you can call me Jim whatever I don't care I I'll I'll call you I know you I know you best as chips will go there nice to talk to you again you know was about twenty years ago we played this earlier that you left a message when I got engaged for my it was very touching what you did I think my mother dnia law asked me for about a year to take that answer she sits up what we used to do answering machines yeah for charity for charity for sister her nor and stuff you know you I wanted to address this in front of Kevin it Jimmy because you said the book without me there would be no radio personality named Kevin Matthews are you really taking all the credit for this guy a one hundred percent absolutely I'm I'm serious I'm I I mean that's what I love about this book it's the truth then yes I I made him it also said that silly **** has no idea how he saved his prophetic radio career troll how did he discover your do you did you discover him how did you guys get together I was on the air at double the out party in fort Wayne bill mornings afternoons and he heard me and like this in Rexall called what do you like about it exactly I think is that I I I I the way I talk the way the people like me I wish the voice I was I was huge you only owe you were huge not to sound like Donald Trump I can't say that anymore because he says it'll exacerbate like Bob Collins of fort Wayne Felker of course the bomb comes forth with you know with all this election stuff going on I mean where do you where do you see yourself you leaning left leaning right in the middle where you know streaming you know what I I'm I'm in a plane flying away down as these two people share we actually okay please yeah yeah yeah Galen old granddad a little I gotta tell you one of my favorite shows was the gym shorts cavalcade of sports I have to ask you was at the peak of your career you while we did in Chicago it was before it's time we did three years and supports television and to this day John Roach produced it it it was it it made that the you'll get Dan Patrick he copy that show you take a look you know what I'm saying you know I know what you're saying like you support stop on yeah they yeah they all copied me everybody partying grackle again hello mark but I he owes me a lot because he copied everything you really held on the Kevin's coattails for as long as you possibly could could don I'm just sick of it you can't walk in so I can I I can break on on my own now I'd love to do a show on a radio in Chicago I'd like to do channel nine I'd like to be next to robin bomb garden hi yeah we were very close yeah what I mean yeah just the two of you yeah all big time yeah I think she's still single I mean there might be an opportunity a she's not she's she's married and divorced I believe all that's wonderful let her know please would you will pass along a number thank you very much have I got to ask you the gym shorts Kelachay to sports that was the wildest ride of a program and the work that would have had to go into that to really bring all that to life I had to get up and make up soon it took we would do ten episodes are five at this it was like ten because of the make up it was it was excruciating but at the same time it was and we had no rights to baseball or the football so we have to get these old vintage movies it was a lot of work John Roach and we got you know that was brought to you by Miller and he got sponsored big sponsors as in there was on ESPN I mean that was yeah the start of something big for them but that was your that was your whole show when I think about now about the the decks that you would have that to did to juggle for all the audio that you would shoot and stuff I think of simple I think sometimes it's challenging now I know was more challenging back then I mean to put on a performance in a show on radio is one thing on television as a whole a whole other thing but that's what you did every single day yeah you knew you felt like an octopus because your arms are moving all over you use a lot of tapes you know it was it was your you didn't record anything that was all it wasn't scripted yeah it's just yeah I was I learned how to use a microphone really really well what is the reworked do for you and your career Larry I can't talk about that I guess he's Italian and I I can't tell you I can't talk about layers yeah Hey Larry it's for awhile how the heck are you so you guys you know when when when Larry and and the deacons were were running the radio station these are these men right Jerry Taft one that he bent and Steve McMichael during dinner through his prime rib at Jerry Taft hit him in the face and then there was a giant food fight and you almost got kicked out your club with the hot but all the money raised I mean over the years doing this stuff I mean that's really a terrible stuff comes from I mean that a lot as I said before not a lot of people use the microphone to do things like that that's what you did man yeah it was just a great time and I I I o'leary so much just because we use such a dear friend but at the same time you know I got fined by the FCC in Leri just took out his checkbook I was just gonna ask about that speaking to take about that Sir how many times that happens is that if you have hives is usually the sturdy Astros check okay to Larry always had my back you know he always had my back people would call the radio station and ask for I heard him say that I need to take we don't record the shows Leri fast like I love that I love that because I bought some of those tapes of the loop store at at north peers to somebody was taping something I'm just going to tell you I can remember once I was out with Leri word weird hairy Kerry's and somebody pulled the fire alarm and so they had a Bacchae wait very Kerry's and all these firemen come in a week I had a few cocktails and I looked at him I said Hey we you guys and backdraft what is the total lance man absolutely always a great time always a great characters Jimmy there for most of the two y'all yet but I ain't saying nothing because layers of past or is it just send it to the house you're wearing hi she's a she got married she would want a guy out why only the cattle rancher while I'm the only one that's too bad how lugar what's going on with luger I eat in Switzerland and these the twenty six now and he's the one that thing where it used to be an augmented you know I've gotten sort of they call this Swiss army yes gender range something I don't know he's nice what was the biggest thing Larry for you I mean being at the look at the loop in running the loop I mean that was kind of a golden age of radio here in Chicago that you guys created was amazing every day you know what I mean Jimmy got it started for sure and then you know once it really started catching a stride any time you hit the button generally twenty four hours because we put Danny on overnight yeah you earn energy at some point you really walked into a water cooler extravaganza of what was going on in town and and these guys take a right yeah but nobody ever turned off the radio like you turn it on the morning you left it on all day and you listen everybody in the cross talk we do cross stuck in the station here it's maybe a few minutes long sometimes across talk was like forty minutes on the loop except from Stephen curry in a topic that was always a challenge across half to get them as well he always had a guest lined up or two and and they knew that if they you know if they would be late yeah right it would create that tension yeah and that that made for some interesting cross talks did you really yeah you know Larry kudos to you because at that time you were working with me in it Stephen Gary in he goes and hideous and even Howard Stern comes into the mix I if you were to you did an unbelievable job of balancing all those plates was it was a lot of fun and I know the fan base was was very passionate about it yeah engine we're lucky to be part of it can be turned into a pretty pretty big business because Jimmy's vision and and that those couples Chicago stations turned into over four hundred radio stations amazing amazing thanks Larry for having a membership can I love you man I love you buddy Jim are you haven't seen you in decades but I hope party see again some day Hey I got a I I am a real quick a.

Jerry Taft and all that stuff I pretty much of let that all come about was gonna do what is the letter a when we were still in their building and all that stuff but he was still around but. people think I'm an egomaniac I am nothing I mean I I'm telling you of the eagles at that are in the Milwaukee media I'm in place I'm about I'm I'm not claiming I don't have it eagle issue but I'm just like I like seventy fifth I'm not no where near the top five or ten and the thing that I picked up by the eagles in the median Milwaukee they have nothing to do with how successful you are usually. usual late for instance at the stories that you read in the media so I the the biggest ego in the history of. entertainment is like David Letterman but he's apparently just get audits that's there was sexual harassment stop it apparently he was unbelievably annoying and it take you to a staff and so forth and so on there's a zillion other Senate usual but you know what you would expect that that would be the case I need. he's a big big big big deal so he can get away with it what happens about once when I picked up in Milwaukee is but some people who've got like. no reason to not no reason a beagle maniacs but. it be like if. yeah well I won't even way below you know with like. somebody who was like the we can't well the weekend producer for why the show was like sub total prima Donna or something or another that's the thing it's kind of weird about it like Jerry Taft JD what as did I as the why but his was like I say he is dwarfed by. he at least is a big big deal so you know okay fine that's juries got a big ego. there are other people who are kind of. they have big egos but they don't make a big deal about it you know what I mean. yes a lot of well but again I think you have to have a pretty good eagle in order to do the kind of thing that I do because if you don't you've got to first of all you've got. this is actually a topic probably isn't it. yeah why don't I do whether they expanded this into the break first three forty seven do stock eleven thirty W. eyes that it's time for rapid traffic.

Spectacular sounds amazing thing. I'm gonna miss most. Avery to sell the young man that was done in the criminal Justice system, came by kind of mentored him. He goes. No. When I was trying to learn English, you would set up the program called roms readers at the library, and I participated, that's how I learned. And I guess I'm gonna miss that, not the thank you just the knowing that when you've done something. This young man's going to college, this young man learned English. Those are the things that make this woman sounds incredible. Single mom Canada, three kids, managing to full rides at God bless all right? I just because of the schmuck. "It's Jerry Taft, the legendary like the weather meteorologists after when you're supposed to be on the air news down in Florida playing golf. Oh, I remember what do you mean? I'm on the air. You're supposed to be on the air today. I'm in Florida. Robbers I've ever played golf with Jerry. He had to be sixty years old. You know, I'm probably twenty five you're thinking boy, oh, you're going to dust. The old man hits it three ten off. Alleged is true sixty yards than he's sixty years all the energy to call. It doesn't hurt. Jean grecko a sore back today. Oh boy. Well, it's his birthday and sixty four whatever his weekend activities sport. Sore back all that trusting it reminds me of the time. Reminds me a time that Sylvie about the guys don't pull out Jesus. Keep your mind at at a gutter frac efforts that can be a butter. My Jean grecko, turn fifty. It must've been sylvian. I brought in some adult entertainment to the studio and had the lovely lady. Sing happy birthday. Mr. sports caster on the air to Mark. I don't get away with that. The blinds close. About that. Now Marquis is sixty seven years old today. Wow. Fifty two. I'm looking at it right here in front of my eyes. Good. Yeah. Favorite movie? Oh, he was in the negotiator. Is that what it saying? Good for him. Wait a minute. I love that movie partner. So you're telling me that was like two thousand and two and seven nineteen. He's sixty seven years old car. I'm looking at it on my eyes. Negotiator was he I saw that movie like Chicago movie. So I wouldn't be shot as movies negotiator. I mean, what do you want me to tell you sit here Rogers threes last night? Happen quick saw that you blink you missed it. Even if you you. I wouldn't have known. I said I didn't even wondering if he was in a twice once when he was just standing in line and the other one where he dug she knew she was soldier duck in. And then the dragon comes like. Haven't seen it easy spoiler. Not ruining anything about Aaron Rodgers though. I'm talking about ruining gave thrones easy. Well, you know, what if you didn't see all bad for yields Monday. Here's my Monday too, damn bad for you, very should've watched it. Last night was fantastic before anybody. That's got it on the DVR for tonight. I liked billion. You're going to love it. Really good. Anyway, don't forget you another qualifier on your show. Yes. The trip to London during the one o'clock in the London. How 'bout Leonard about it? I was sort of hoping for overtime because I had raptors laying six I was hoping for overtime in the raptors just like throttle up and win, you know. But you know, when he made that shot. I you know, I have the good I have car when he made that shots. I go. There's no overtime. But man, that was pretty awesome. Guessing I jumped off the couch. What are you doing that? I mean, and I love all the still frames from the people in the outer. Gonna win an award where he's like in a crawl. It's just it's what a shot. Those are. What did they say? A picture. What's worse words? Yeah. I mean, there it is men and just the fans reactions and some of the the their faces are priceless like frozen in that moment that that's the first ever game seven winter. Did you see that bus? I'm sorry game seven buzzer beater, excuse me, crazy also with Philly eliminated. They have the odds outward Jimmy Butler will go Philly is the favourite at four to five but not far down the list of Chicago Bulls at ten to one actually hard past Jimmy. Yeah. I don't know you really want know back at this point do not going to happen. No. How about the get off my court story? I don't know if I know that. Okay. So Thursday nights Steph curry, oh, yes. To the team manager. Get me booked over to hold a center. I want to get some shots. Okay. You got the core from seven to eighth gets there. Chris Paul gets wind of it shows up. And he says, I you know, what Chris you take that. And I'll take this. No get off get off my court. He thrown out if you're and so they get done with the game. He's thirty one in the second half. And Draymond green. Goes corn about that performance on Friday night, scoreless first-half, and then he goes out. And he does that why you see how the parents are now going to figure out who. Cheers for who flip. A coin flip a coin. Okay. You lose you got to root for deaf tonight or Seth. It's like. Yeah. I mean, I it's hard to even compare them in not not many championship yet. I mean, it's just the conference finals. But can you imagine? At least Chris Paul showed up amid a contribution that he did his best players by far in new time. Yeah. They need to what do they do. Now, where do you go? I mean, do you just wait out? The warriors. Is that the plan? I mean, they're owner with the bravado afterwards through I guarantee we're gonna win a championship with James harden. You can't beat you played. You got to play the last what five and a half quarters against that team without Kevin Durant. The best player in the world. Maybe and you couldn't beat them at one of those two championship team without Kevin Durant. I know. But all right. I'm just pointing that out. You know, best play understand rancher best player. But they've also got some very talented players on that. So maybe it doesn't even matter. Then even if Iran is gone like what do you do if you're Houston? Wait, be patient. Try to make an addition. That's all you can do. Wait, be patient. Try to make an addiction on the in the east though when you take a look at it Toronto Philly. Well, this Philly gotta rebuild down. Philly lost by one point two points there. They had lead. You gotta miracle shot by quiet, Leonard on the move jumps up four times off the rim. And ends up going in does that mean, what Phillies doing broke you went seven games? Yeah. I mean, the last shot Portland doesn't go into Toronto's gotta rebuil-. No. You got competed swimming. Because quite a leg. Have been forced to rebuild meat. So it's not always about. Hey, we're not gonna win the championship. Let's just blow it all up. You've got a very competitive team would Philadelphia very competitive not everybody played their best during this series. So what you're asking for is. Maybe your guys being a little bit better next year. That's it. I mean, I I thought Friday for Houston was beyond disappointing on your home floor. You can't extend that back to Golden State that was in even gone there. And then lost in a close game. Like, okay, I get it. Like, you said they're still a championship team, even without Kevin Durant. Although that was a long time ago, and he is their best player that maybe you cut them some slack. But to lose your home floor like that in for Golden State to pull away late. The wait. Did that's embarrassing. The way the warriors answered the questions afterwards about doing it without to rant. There was not one shot taken towards K D from. I mean, that's our brother we need him. He's the best player in the league. Like Safai anybody that thought like, okay, they're gonna use this as motivation, like leave K D? We'll be fine. We won before you got here. We'll win after you leave. That's not the the message. They were delivering after now, I think they know they'd like to have Kevin Durant back on his last two series. It'll make it a lot easier. On them. Can they can they win and beat Portland without Katie? Yes. They can how many games ever show pick. Gold state five. Assuming Kevin Durant is coming back for game one tomorrow. No. He was assuming either game two or three. Okay. Eddie six-game. Eddie Johnson says he'll be surprised we plays in the seer. I'll say six six game series. I think it'd be cool as health if Portland it's going to be Tom Toronto Milwaukee. I like Milwaukee in that series. I like both the favorites right now rates here. Yeah. I think the way the way the bucks have played in these playoffs away. They'd played at home. They're gonna have about a week's worth the rest. I mean, the honest is barely had to exert himself. You know, he's averaging like thirty one minutes game in the playoffs. I mean, they're eight enroll their eight in one straight up in against the spread by the way. And they've been favored in every game. What does that tell you that in their first series? They were favored by eight nine ten points. Most of those games, they're eight and one straight up and against the spread. They have dominated these conference. So far, this postseason might one hiccup at home. Tomorrow's lottery day. Yes. It is. Can you imagine? Yeah. Tomorrow is lottery. Can you imagine getting the number eight pick? Oh god. Which one can you imagine? Go ahead, the stat that they're most likely to get the number six pack. That is correct. The way the statistics fallout one and four six pick on your show. One of you wouldn't get Miranda Williamson, you get one of RJ Barrett. Darius garland who I I liked areas? I'm going overseas. That point if I got pick dairies garland might not be a bad consolation at that point. Injury. But it's meniscus like, you know, guys can come back from that. He's young. But that might not be a bad consolation. The ESPN dot com today has jerked Culver going six that may not bad constellation called for the listeners in Texas. Listeners and the audience Bank. You Texas Tech in position for you. Good rain defensive player. In the cars that don't understand who he is John feline going to stunned. I mean, I just I was like, oh, I saw this morning. We're that come from. Yeah. We were sitting are medium. I p news. He turns the T of what praising. Yeah. Six years old sixty six flashed across my phone and then disappeared on me. Did he died? On my screen. It went away. So quick some happened to be like what happened is. Breath. Michigan tell you that recruiting is just so disgusting. Maybe in college basketball. Jobs in America or could something becoming. That's paid like that. That's been a successful as that when John beeline. He's got that from good at thirty John. Clean merle. If if. Line comes out that he's cheating. Okay. I I mean, I be absolutely shocked by this tweet from Chris Mannix. Oh, very interesting. How John fills out his staff in Cleveland? Would he approached Tom sibito would Tibbs consider returning system rings that quickly and assistant? He was highly coveted tips loves beeline, right? I think so pretty good relationship. I guess. Ron wanted him as the assistant to the typical. I could see that. I think they have a good relationship. I could see that. But this tips that will ask we're going to we're going to talk to the bottom of the hour. We'll ask them more about that. Speaking about wants to go be an assistant. No, I don't know. If question he's not married. He doesn't do anything. But watch tape and eat what does he want to do with his life? He said that to me this. Because you want to be an assistant under beeline. It may not be that long the assistant with all due respect. I mean, I don't know how much John has left in the tank is far as just saying, you know, time on this earth. I'm just saying being a coach sixty seventy years of age still coaching or how old is probably late fifties. I think right. He was about fifty when he got the job here wasn't. He I think so what was that two thousand nine tips at sixty one sixty one. There you go. I mean, not much not much much younger. Yeah. Now real quick to get back to the question. I was going to ask you guys. We're talking about university of Michigan. It looks like Jim Harbaugh finally has his quarterback. J McCarthy committed to the university of Michigan this week. He's a junior senior. Yeah. He hasn't had one is. My house over the seventeenth state champions this year Nasr built a powerhouse right on going to have you. Is that right? Yeah. Played AAA hockey Julian love, I think went to Nasr didn't didn't he thought he did maybe sports star. They've put they put some offense lineman recently division one programs. They've done very very well. Irish Rodham, Florida was on them. Julian. Coming out of their garments going on over there. Something in the soup sometime in the waters into Kool aid. I don't know what it is how Kool-Aid or transit of the weekend. Agreed was contrary walk off and Jesse Rogers. And there's about three dill's that just captured this incredible moment, you've got the Gatorade fly jesse's smile. And everybody's. Racial. It's really good. Avatar? I just he's not even own not on your team. Follow him. I don't even have his phone number. It's a great play. Jesse is a friend I sniff her every time I hear that. I don't even think that's the best picture Carmel retweeted. So I could see it..

"Better. Welcome to hell. Is still angry ridiculous? I'm in here today. If your first time ever, I one of the guys at the toll right there at the Ben Franklin bridge soon as I gave him the money says Goldberg, they never respond to anything that they're happy. Campers are taking the cash today pitcher reason now a really weird question. No easy pass. No today. I didn't because it was in my other car. Yeah. Goes through charge you. Yeah. No. I paid no charge. You fifty bucks. Yeah. No, no, it's free. It's because you've licensed. How many times they get caught with that came out alive? Jerry Taft high this morning, I'm wonderful. I feel wonderful talk to me. Let me tell you some. I bet everybody was will win by one point. No. I bet everybody it won't be two three anything. But I told everybody was only gonna win by one point well with the extra extra point. But Chicago to win. It's like Doug Peterson already know you. I know you. So when you kick this first one, I'm just going to call time out and see what you do for the second. I know you, and it seemed like he felt so calm when he called that Kamo when you call that time, he seems so calm. Yeah. I don't I don't miss his attack. How can they be calm? It's their lives. When we're nervous how we still got jobs and families and a lot of other stuff to deal with besides just this football game. There Tom went dot com. Makes no sense. It doesn't. But I want to tell all the out there. We go down to the saints, and we beat them. Okay. Who we play for the NFC champ? Yeah. Being thrown into seven AM. Forty eight to seven and then they beat the saints to go to the NFC Chevy's point matter we play now at that point. We're not gonna care because we are going to assume we're gonna win another one get the parade. We are there one win away from at least believing that this will feel like the Super Bowl, and then we'll go. Remember, the double joint gave can you believe we won that thing on the way. Now how many? Philly Philly and double joint they've got name game. It sounds like a party double to me. That's what it is. It's double. Oh. Yeah. Forever. A report a few minutes Dallas this now what the hell are they saying in Chicago? Oh, they have the best defense in football. They were home. That crowd was great for them bay would dominant defensively for a lot of the game. Yeah. And they lost weight loss because even say to yourself, how do you get the kinks? They have a villain go today. He can't leave his house. He's gotta stay home with his dog. He's like he's like axe murderer. He could come here. We all know what he should move back Phillies. Tell things calm down at home. We'll bring them to the parade. Up next. I'll bet she's happy. Oh my God. I can't believe it. What did you do in that ball hit the upright? What did you do? Betsy. You're not gonna believe this. But I was so scared I ran to the ladies room, and I heard all this cheering, and I thought oh my God, you know. And then I Walter predicted that Cody parkey would miss. He did Walton new that had it Walter know that he just as we were at a sports bar. Okay. So what I did when we got home. I call the sports bar made reservations for next Sunday. And I'm asking for the same tables. See that's under. Hold on. So. On the lie. You leave the bar to go to the restroom. I was to scare and you're what are you standing at the sink waiting for the crowd to react. No, I was somewhere else. I will say. That's. Live. Women. That's bad timing. Betsy. Collected when I got home when we got home, I wiped out the guitar. I'm wondering we are the champions, and we rock you on my guitar now. I have to say something else before I go. I think Cody parkey needs therapy right now. I would think. But you know, what? Betsy. Thank you very much. If nothing else, you gave us a separate interpretation of the term, dump Dunkel double Donald delinking. If you're at a sports bar, even at home, your social media's ahead of the TV. Oh, they aren't. So you actually know they feel go before you see I wouldn't either. When the kick is about to be kicked. People are ready to react. If you're gambling. You really know why? Yeah. That's not. "Aaron Rodgers doesn't come back in that game, Ginny, they're not winning this ballgame, but there's something to be said I played with the guy John Elway and I know what it's like to be down going into the fourth quarter and no matter how bad we had played up until that point. If we were in striking distance in John, was our quarterback, we felt we can come back and win and you could see all right completion here completion there. But if you noticed they started the second half, everything was quick. They wanted to see how the bears were going to attack air Rogers. I would have heated him up because I know he's limited. There's a reason why he only played a handful of plays in the first half, so I'm gonna heat him up, but they didn't. They base it back there. They rush. Therefore, he went quick quick quick and then they might hold on. They're not bringing pressure. We, they're gonna, give us an opportunity to get the ball further down the field and that throat. Geronimo Alison. I don't believe there's another quarterback that could've made that throw like he made it. He did what we call turning the ball over a putter. You punt the ball. It goes up and then it dies down. He throws the ball like the almost like a hail, Mary skill, man, that alone hand up. He was perfect. Last night he had to be perfect and we're gonna do we're gonna talk about another segment maybe in the very near future, Aaron Rodgers QBR forty, four. That's what he's Cuban are one. That's not that great zero to one hundred fiftieth what in case came through. Three picks QBR was higher than Aaron Rodgers, but that's another here. No, they're in the very near future. We're going to see Aaron, what? What? What what was get if her you said you usually you were going to unleash later though with my tire. Can I unleash? I have none. Calling out of his though I'll let you unleash it. This is my time to he get all this module to get through time to heap praise on air Rogers who's the greatest quarterback currently playing in the National Football League, not the most accomplish, but just the best. And you saw that on display and skip this game would have gotten lost headed been unless it was a standalone. This game needed to be in primetime. This game needed to be myself. So everybody could witness to see what Aaron Rodgers capable witness. I knew I know what he was capable. Now you to know he's he's trying to kill the clock, killing off with a bunch of air Roger. Iraj with our did that last night. He killed club my turn tonight. You. So Jerry Taft for say what I'm about to say. I wanna make something very clear. I tweeted this at this moment that Aaron Rodgers went out of the game early in the second quarter last night. It would have been terrible for the National Football League. Aaron Rodgers had been lost for the season. He is crucial to the ratings to the overall presence of this league and in order the three most valuable players TV wise in this league are that guy up in Foxborough, then Aaron Rodgers drew Brees. So it was heartening to me. I was excited when he actually stepped back onto the football field to start the second half. It was a great moment. It wasn't a good moment. It was great that he wasn't lost for the year. Now I'm going to give you some perspective and maybe some objectivity you might not get elsewhere and you certainly didn't get it from across the table. As we open this show. This was accomplished last night against Mitchell Trubisky seven point underdog, Chicago Bears. So let's not confuse this with Tom Brady coming from twenty eight to three down in a Super Bowl against the Atlanta Falcons or for that matter. Let's not confuse it with what Tom Brady did in the fourth quarter against the Jacksonville defense in border. What's that was against the best defense in most people's eyes in football down twenty ten in the fourth quarter and Ethan for a hundred and thirty eight and two touchdowns with twelve stitches in the base of his thumb on his throwing hand..

A good job yeah I like him sure miss miss Jerry Taft Ron majors and She's still there Gone she's gone Cheryl Burton and they took the fun out of watching Cheryl Burton because she used to say a woman, instead of woman but they've taught her. To say woman so, now she says woman Wyoming and pointing. It out to I know I. Think I did I think I. Accidentally ruined it Yeah Because it was fantastic because whoever was writing the scripts was always putting the word woman in. There How many did you. Get in there today I got three woman's gonna show up anyway at some point in the news and also one other thing that I've noticed Is. That they now call the courthouse at twenty six in California they, call it? Something. A person whose name yeah the in criminal courts building? They never did that before we used to say twenty-six in cal- late in. Criminal courts player where's that yeah who's late I. Don't know The former. Judge probably right But I had to look it, up because that's where they that's where the trial was for those to the, kids? Shut a DEA Pendleton right kudos if I, may come. Off the island but not I don't think it's just going gonna need the I, dropped my. Wallet so we're gonna have to wait out like Chilcot, up to my ankles okay yeah that's fine Kudos to Cook County prosecutors I don't really think we need sound effects. For this because it's about a girl being shot so for not those kids plead out because I think we. Need. More, of that Like examples of well they. Were already out on bail for gun charges when they did that so I just thought it. Was good that they didn't let them plead out they took five years but they They, were convicted And you know I don't know how to solve the The. Problem of gang violence and all that but I feel. That a really severe downside like that Can't it can't hurt Yep sure yes So that's all I just wanted to say that George Layton distinguished Chicago lawyer and judge who worked to desegregate juries and schools advocated for people facing. The death penalty he died in this year. In, in June oh since. One hundred five so maybe? Just, recently. Named I never, I, was like where is. That is that a Maywood Yeah Courthouse it seems like they would do that one. Downtown I've been in that room in. That courtroom Uber in that courtroom? To. Weren't you for isn't that the R. Kelly courtroom absolutely we're. Both, from that. For R Kelly I was there too yeah comfortable Yeah Mccranie that. Video Brennan did sketches he sketches for I did it was before they allowed cameras in the courtroom and he was. A sketch artist Artists who know he really, did do sketches for us yes Yes We got the gist of. It, oh. Yeah I, mean you? Know A drip. Drip, drop a droplet as a droplet. Am, I. "Friends with a boat that could take us all out for their, and water show That up Isn't it Yacht very big boat with a lot. Of things Judy might need on one of. Those electric you, know boats Kevin and ran away. From his microphone right now I think he's. Doing that tomorrow By himself he didn't eat these now doing with us wrong. It's, interesting that were all kind of freelancing on our own handing out a little yeah and our. Own tricks were implying applying tricks of the trade to see the and water show. Richard Roper is here brought to us by architect and I would ask you this if you have a trick for the earn. Water show usually. Involves being about, one hundred twenty two one hundred thirty miles away I love it, I love it but as Ron knows. And the prognosis for years. I you know I I had one of those purchase you. Know where you could you could wave, to the pilots, or row or feel ladder whoever's jumping on the plane. That day which was great but then you then you are obligated parties every year. So it got to the point where I, could go three two one Lima Lima so just take a little break. From it but it's still spectacular It is to you all. Enjoy it okay thank you I find your, house for a party Right I mean the flower I never mind the air is I just do think it's. One, of. Those things that is sells this city better than almost anything else that we do yeah. Absolutely it just as the city looks so amazing and the people who come. In for it I know all over all, over downtown here who tells her filling up shirt, it brings a lot of people in crews and you know that work these this whole. Circuit but then there are if you're. If, you like. To go to air shows very few Any compared to this because it used to be the air and water show and they, still technically I guess air and water show and when I was a kid remember the, water? Skiing and, stuff yes. There was in my favorite thing this was the best because it was a six hour day and it started ten in the morning and it would end. At, four. O'clock in the afternoon now still tend to three it's a it's a five hour day. But it's it's it's differently stacked that it was there would literally be a. Race because the show centers to Chicago avenue at the field has the guy, who's l. Benedict, who was the guy who started the whole thing l. was the was the worst intended The park district thing so he. Had he he would even. Have all, the lifeguards would take part, and one mile open water race right or I. Guess five hundred meter open mile race remember this was that I sort of anybody would get in the water at the, Ohio street beach and then they would swim people still do this which I don't dance Sharks in, that water and they would. Swim to pass the, Chicago avenue reviewing stand Take like twenty minutes and, that's all, you get to look for them and then they would call it like you know there, was some kind of each life guy was a, different beach So they compete large Chinoy right now I'm sorry. We'll see mention they lead right now This makes no sense and then you're? Like, what are they gonna bring the airplanes back well I always thought they needed like, a Rokon to do the, play by play too because there's a certain station not this one that. I don't know if they still do it once did, you do did it once a, lot of times it would just be, very competent straightforward, news anchors at a certain stations WBZ news time nine away traffic. And weather coming up in about thirty six. Time there's. Some, planes we believe in this. Guy all. Right well. Let me tell you something I okay Okay, I'm going to go the other way on. This one I did it for I did, it with a co host. For one one or, two seasons we tried to compete with that? BB, EMS coverage of it when we were over WLS and we got a lot of, help from the city we, get a lot of help and the we we had a great perch. But we only had one one? Place to watch it and then the people up and, down the beach and they got people, out at the, airport and everything words taking up I have to say that Pat. Cassidy I think does an amazing job in. Chris how're. Mill, is a an aviation way. Before then Genius I was a kid in the. Forties I'm talking about Wonderful channel seven. Used to do a studio. Show from the air show it's. Alec the half hour Jerry Taft used. To do that I don't know what's. Going on now And that's recorded. Me didn't know it was going on This is a live, show where they set, up the bucket chairs at swivel like the Oprah sat. Yes on Chicago avenue on, the on, the pavement there Chicago avenue on a big, you know sort of raise stage, as at show center and they would do. A four, five, hour show other. Things in the air rive cameras spectacular Get out there to watch it, as you could follow it either, because the camera guys couldn't follow what was. Going covering, hockey They always missed the goal and it was always an it's guys like Get it All, right well let's do. That, replied no we don't have replay replay Didn't make a tennis sets but it was on the TV anyway now you get, to see the half hour just never. As much. Fun, on TV though like, watching, a plane in the sky And actually it's fun to try to catch the plane sometimes if you try. To anticipate the sound ratio to the Yeah that's that's part of the fun but also that. You feel it in your gut when they make that turn Just you know when they, hang their like the? Guy. We had on yesterday remember? When they just hanging in the air and there's like all is it gonna be okay how does he do that the military jet that. Does at the actual. One that did actually hovers the Harrier is the loudest thing you're, ever going to be. Near, it comes right next then they, tried to tell you to to keep your ears closed but it's not easy And all I could think about a thank God, I'm on their side At least I think. I'm on their side Zealand though it was on their side until. The, president decided I'm not. On their side yeah I don't like that All right can. We, get to a movie Yeah sure came why don't we start with crazy ridge agents because people have. Been talking about this for months and months the first major studio movie with. An Asian focus cast in twenty five years the last time it happened was the Joy Luck Club in one thousand nine hundred three crazy. Rich Asians is based on. A novel Dixie the first of a trilogy it's actually. Kind of a very. Classic old fashioned story Henry Golding plays Nick he comes from. Perhaps the wealthiest family in. All. Of Singapore Constance Wu is his girlfriend Rachel they've. Met and fallen in love and New York she has, no idea of the amount of. Wealthy has but now his cousins getting married so he thinks maybe it's. Time for them to.
