"I feel them approaching it it just it always goes back to everyone wants you know. No one wants to be in a situation where their family is rooting against them or disprove. Everyone wants their family to be happy to be proud of him to be rooting for them. And it's a very hard thing to hear if that's not the case right so in like all of sumit's fault that i understand down difference here with sumit is that sumit has put it out there. They've made it known that they are not going to budge and sumit is just letting it die in purgatory when he should either let jenny go or you know. Go get married to jenny and like deal with the repercussions later. And i think our motto is not like. I don't get the negative answer here. He's gonna leave kenny high and dry. They're going to be together. They're going to get married is going to be fine. What are mondo is nervous. Because again our moms just wants everyone to be there. Be happy and celebrate their love. Yeah any couple. I'm rooting for. Is this one. I want them to work out an live happily ever after. I mean it's just one of those situations where you have to rip the band aid off you have to deal with you know the turmoil that's gonna come from this big reveal But if couples to have spin off show. This is the modern family that i will want to watch right because if you think about it like kenney is old but like older. I was almost sixty. He's got grandchildren older than our models daughter. You know this is good television. Material them sitting around the dinner table. Everybody's crying because they miss their their their family. This was super touching the hug this little segment in and of itself. This is how they should be promoting the show to the feelers. Right like for the mess. Yeah you can go to all these other couples but for the feelers. This was good content. It was it was it was touching every second of it for all the angela michaels. We get the janine sumit. The every messy couple. This is the one couple that needs to be put on display and celebrated because they have fought so much adversity to get here. That was outside of them. Like i mentioned podcasts. They have not been really in a place where they've had trouble with one another. All their troubles have been external have been cultural thai government ties. So it's been different. So i'm ruining for them with everything i've got and then the next time on. He does mention so spoiler alert armando does ask his dad or tell us about the wedding and is that essentially says. I can't give you an immediate response. Which then we are monitoring up about but i have to wait to see the episode to know exactly what happens there because again. Gmc loves leaving us with the worst thing happen. And then it's like. Oh yeah he was there the whole topsy might be like. I can't get immediate response. But okay i'll do it like it's kind of that. I feel like that's where we're going to head with them and we'll we're both rooting for them. And i'm sure you're all rooting for them too. So that's perfect now. This story has got me coming back to you. this is. this is one where i'm like. Okay i might be all in. I wanna see what happens with this one so okay well. I'm intrigued by this next one. And before we dive into their stuff this episode. I have to get your take on the first three episodes with stephen and alina. Okay okay this one.

"Possibility of china property company ever grand is leading to concerns in markets. This morning as we saw shares of ever grant are off more than eleven percent today at the stock has fallen more than eighty percent this year as it struggles to meet debt payments. The company has more than three hundred million dollars in debt and has warned about default. It has a eighty three million dollar payments due on thursday for a march. Twenty twenty two bond according to reuters and this is leading to concerns of a domino effect as this would have an effect on other china and hong kong property developers and a systemic effect on the rest of the economy. That's according to jenny. Zang co head of asia fixed income at alleanza bernstein quote in the offshore dollar market. There is a considerable large portion of developers who are implied to be highly distressed. Zang said on cnbc. These developers quote can't survive much longer. "You are. You weren't a part of their family after you've been together if you're trying to build trust because that's what. she said. she was trying to build a friendship foundation. You don't tell them something that you don't want your partner to know because your partner will know so. That is ridiculous to think that. That's the thing that you're going to do korea again doing the same mistake here. Now we're not here advocating for. Hey light to your partners but if you're gonna lot of your partners be smart about it if you're here corey if you're already that was stupid because you told the wrong person pretty much. Yeah also corey. If all if the big secret that you had sex with this ginny woman. You're getting punished as if you had sex with the gentleman anyway like you should come out the gate with this truth because they're treating you like you had a full on marital affair like you're married. You went out. She said you were hunting women. You were married you. You took your wedding ri off. You hit it on the nightstand. You brought some like hussy over jenny and you had this tryst in the night and now she can't even look at you because you cheated on her during. You're saying you're you're you're the sanctity of marriage or whatever i. That's not that you're getting punished like you did that. That's what happened. You know from her point of view. But you didn't even tell her that you told her. Oh you couldn't even get it up so nothing really happened. And they're treating you like you went out and had a secret baby or something. So i'm thinking that the reveal has to be way more than this. If you're already getting punished for that you might as well just can't clean because if they're treating you like this now with this little bit of information session it's only gonna get worse. No wonder you're terrified like sir. Rip the band aid off and start to plan your life. I honestly he should be planning the escape. He should be okay. Obviously this isn't this isn't gonna end will start packing that that overnight bag in case we need to go live somewhere else i mean and do you know anyone else look at. It would say the same thing. I just feel like already. They were on shaky grounds. The marriage was supposed to be. Oh she's finally taking that leap with them when we find out that she took the leap earlier and then got bit by this. You know whole affair thing. And you are withholding information that you already probably suspecting and then it's going to come out it's only gonna get worse and it's only gonna make you look like more of a fool because you withheld from her. You were trying to withhold it from the rest of them and you still are showing up to their hangouts to the dinners as if you've done nothing and when they know that's gonna be irreversible damage because even evelyn forgives you. The rest of them will never look at you the same way or forgive you so you're in a it's in a dead basically it's basically all gonna come down to will evelyn keep us are asked or evelyn kickin with a curve. Will he go over to peru because really we'll find out what this news is next week but if it is a baby. I don't see them recovering from this adult zero percent chance to recovering if it's a bb zero. Yes yes iraq. If there's a baby he should already planning the exit like he should've already like the moment he found out about it. He's been my all right. Let me get my affairs in order they me. Get my passport renewed. You know whatever you know. Whatever i'm about to go let me start to prep for these things. I don't think he's been doing that so i'm hoping that it's not a baby. But if again even if it is just oh yeah. By the way. I lied and said we didn't have sex when we did have sex like you probably still needs to be preparing for the worst family is never going to let you live it down and you don't think you're gonna stay between you and her. She's going to snitch. On she's told are you and she is a person who does any marriage is not for me. I never wanted to be married. She's the hoses against you. See this is actually when i was in. I don't want to be there. I never wanted to boa play. Now you're trying to get married for real but you can't propose a real.

"So it's technology i put. Food is your interest. Yes i also think that part of the chinese diaspora food is like the medium for conveying. Many y- just in terms of like chinese culture food is you know that's how you interact with family with friends. The way that you eat is a reflection of like how far your family has advanced in society because historically there were times of great famine in china so being able to talk about contemporary china now has to talk about food in some way. So you started this four years ago and prior to this jenny women's last time you were in china I go back fairly often so seeing seeing family at least once a year an extended period of time because of I've been unfortunately not able to go back recently. So that's that's been a bad thing. I mean going back frequently. I guess he wasn't a shock to you in in the differences in food culture. Was it a shock for you to go back into really get into rural china and to experience food on all different levels. Yeah there were so many interesting connections just thinking about the context of these villages more. Broadly you know there were times where you would get a bowl of rice and it would just be this very sacred thing and people would talk about like how this wasn't always guaranteed you get like a bullet rice unlike some cabbage and that's you know a reminder that in the cities you can eat everything we throw away a lot of things and it's really plentiful but in the countries that you're really connected your food this very strong way and so much survival just hinges on the season the land all these things i read. It isn't the venture so i don't know if that's how it really was put. It came across as an event. It was definitely an adventure. There were many wrong turns missed buses being stuck in certain places. I really loved it. There were some villages where i went back multiple times so it almost feels like i have this second home in this one village. Sean deeping where. I would go twice a year. And they were just say like oh you in the fall for the fish harvest or see you for like the rice harvest and just feeling really touched that these families have integrated me in some sense into their lives. So yeah i felt really honored by conversations. And you're invited into somebody's house. Are you invited into the premise. That you're gonna talk about technology or you there to talk about food and life and is just something that comes out of it as you experience. How living was the order. It was definitely i through food because when you get to a village actually the first thing anyone asks you is. Have you eaten yet. Just think mark yes. It's a hallmark of chinese culture. Really across all different groups. And so we kind of unfolds. With this. Neil and i think eating and talking about the food. Is this really wonderful way to like enter into people's lives and tried to understand where they're coming from trying to talk about tech in the countryside is really interesting because that tech or could you in chinese. it's like so broad and throughout the course of the meal. It's like trying to unpack what that means because for them. There's certain kinds of tech that we don't even think of for example this one village the way that they're saving their special rice free from one season to the next. If you think about it in like modern quote unquote scientific terms. You're preserving the genetic purity of this one rice seed which them they've been practicing this forever and it is a kind of tack on is just not the way that we're thinking of it as tech like with microscopes and like dna samples and school to just have these conversations as people when you talk about technology.

"That. i think i'm ugly. I think i'm pretty cute but in accessible way like when you see a shower curtain at target and you're like i could afford that. That is coming home with me. I got a gift card. Hey i'm what they call subjectively hot not everybody's cup of tea but some slurp from this hosts note saying we are fine with the right lighting and bible verse on e. harmony. Please who are good. We are fine. But i've never been like a hot chick and i have a lot of resentment towards women who have always been hot their whole lives. They get too much handed to them. Like i watch horror movies. Because they're the only place. Hot chicks treated poorly run for your life. Jenny should invited assault of the pool party. Name's not jason. It's carmo run as not even her fault. It's my own insecurity. Because i was not cube growing up as a fact which is so much harder than being fat adult. Because you don't have a car to eat in you. Just gotta do it in the road. Now you to work for it. I was an old soul. Which is what adults call you when they don't want to say loser in front of your parents what that means if you don't know if you were a loser in middle school let me help you out. You can tell if you were based on how you react to one key phrase. That phrase is all right for this next exercise we're going to partner up. Ooh couple people felt it. Does your heart skip a beat. Your stomach titan. Maybe a little bit. You were a loser. I'm sorry you had to build your volcano alone.

"Mean don't get me wrong anytime. Some cultural stuff is like in the way. He's like listened culturally. We just my family's not gonna be okay with it. I will never be okay if he said i'm never going to marry you. Sweet lady and she can say okay bye and be done with it. What he why are you lying to her. Why are you gaslight in this woman no no seriously i promise i promise one day. I'm going to marry you just not this time. And then you have to be upset about it like i just feel like. She's getting little demanding. She keeps getting deported like she keeps. You excommunicated from the country like you have to leave. She doesn't have a life but she doesn't have a life to go to. she's leaving and just waiting on pins and needles for her time to come back to be with this man that she loves jenny. The she is my favorite person on the episodes that i've seen because she seems to be the only one who saying like. Hey hey dude they do the thing that you keep saying you don't do just do it. I just want her to know that she doesn't have the stick around for this. She can just go. This storyline maybe one. Our i was so angry at him the whole time. What are you doing. Even friends are like she's the best. We love genie. Just mary her like she's kind of a push you don't you think. Excuse me that's the part of it. Chapelle where like his whole argument the only island he can stand on and he's choosing to keep standing on his. His parents do not approve of this marriage. They just don't they think the age gap is too big and they don't support. They've said we're not endorsing this marriage but then he keeps holding back because of that but then he's not actively changing their minds anytime he tries. It doesn't work and now we did. The only other scene we see from this episode is the next time on where he clearly is with his family and is trying to use it while i'm engaged and we're going that direction. I want her to be a part of our celebrations. And they're like yeah. We're not going to accept that. And his mom walks away. So it's a moot point. You have to decide jenny or your parents approval big one because you cannot have both my friend. It's not going to happen because jenny is clearly. Not satisfied with the temporary are at work together. We're cohabitating but after lead the country every six months. Just a u-turn back. Just keep getting a visa. Like that's not in the books who would be okay with that. Like what person would be okay with just getting ripped out of their life just every six months because this guy that you're in love with doesn't want to marry you didn't want to to his family and honestly i'm looking at his family there too because y'all should what an older woman to take care of this man because he he he he did. If anybody needs old woman is he.

Did You Know These Birds Nest Multiple Times a Year?

"Centurions are really cool because you know they come through in may with all the other birds they will be singing improper habitat right where they should be right up until it's time to breed and they go north up into minnesota and southern canada and they breed but then they come back here in august and they breathe again and they have a second they have a completely second breeding territory and time in in august here in illinois and wisconsin iowa and so on indiana and then i have read recently and i'll have to double check this. They go down to the south and do it a third time. Oh yeah data really volley in jenny's part of the world that's a pretty common thing in the monsoon like there's a bunch of birds that are known for that you'll go kuku bang one of the one of the more more famous ones but yeah i mean cuckoos are just so weird. That's that's another really great late summer bird because when the when the fall web worms at least where i am. Start coming out and you know late. Summer sometimes the cuckoo's when they start moving south lose. Just stop where. There's an infestation of follwed worms and just have a second brood just randomly and so you'll end up getting these weird. Juvenile fledgling cuckoo's all dark bills. Which as you can see kind of a kind of a species in the in the late summer and the fall and up. But of course they have like little stubby little tales like kuku pits or something but Yeah yeah this another kind of classic late summer breeder that can that can cause problems. Why It Pays to Be More Grateful and How to Show It by Dr Jenny Brockis

"Why it pays to be more grateful man how to show it by dr jenny. Baucus of dr jenny. Baucus dot com. What are you grateful for. According to cicero gratitude is more than being the greatest virtue. He described it as the mother of all other remaining virtues gratitude. This isn't about remembering to write your christmas. Thank you letter to auntie mabel. Who sent you that hideous pair of socks or thinking. Your mother-in-law for the huge dish of soggy overcooked brussel sprouts. That just got put on your plate at a family get together. This is about real gratitude that is authentic and heartfelt why that matters is because showing gratitude has been shown to dramatically ramp up your level of mental wellbeing. It's been described as an essential component for employee engagement. It has a positive effect on your physical health and resilience. In fact there's so much going for gratitude is hard to find a reason why you wouldn't want to include more gratitude in your life. Gratitude boosts recovery as we move into the new living with kovic era of heard twenty twenty one described as the year of recovery recovery from all our adversity financial insecurity economic downturn and mental health challenges. While i believe it's going to take somewhat longer than one year. Gratitude is an important part of our wellbeing armory for recovery helping us to distinguish between what is important and what is not to stay focused on what is possible and to strengthen our patience humility and wisdom which has been wearing a little thin for patients recovering from heart attack or other cardiac illness. The more grateful patients were found to have better sleep less fatigue and lower levels of inflammation in their recovery face. Meaning they recovered well while in the grace study. Researchers found that the most grateful patients were more energized. Engaged proactive in their own. Healthcare and motivated to make the necessary long-term behavioral changes to stay well breast cancer accounts for twenty five percent of cancers experienced by women when my mom lost her best friend breast cancer while still in her forties. It took her a long time to recover from that loss as gp and in my own circle of friends of known many who have endured the trauma of being diagnosed with the disease and then undertaking the long road to recovery with chemotherapy and surgery but surviving. That is only half the story. What then remains the ongoing fear for currents and possible death this is where gratitude interventions have been found to produce a positive effect and improve psychological functioning better coping angrier perceive support gratitude is linked to wellbeing.

"Way within the next few years. Either you or someone you love is not impacted by liberal totalitarian ism. Their mandates their edicts, the destruction of the country. They're opening of the border there. Cancel culture tactics. They're they're screw too big tech cancel culture tactics. There is no way you or someone near you will not be touched by this. No way. You have no choice in this matter anymore. It is time for action. Action matters. There are no easy answers here. I wish there were believe me. I wish there were I am not again speaking to you with forked tongue either. Damn! What have you done? Fair question. I left my job. I love the job. I was in 10 years ago I walked away. There was never ever any promise of anything, and we almost went bankrupt. That's not a joke. We nearly missed mortgage. I think we did miss mortgage payments. My daughter at the time I remember needed braces. We have any money to do it. I left my job. I decided I was going to run for office. I'd had enough. I did that three times. It didn't work out. That's okay. It's okay. It wasn't meant for me. Sometimes you ask God for an answer, And the answer is no. And that's okay. It eventually led me here almost a decade later. It was a long road. But I promise you I'm not asking you to do something I wouldn't do myself. I asked you to show up at the school board meetings, Town council meetings. I did it myself. The videos out there my own town. You can see it. I'm right there. I don't tell you to do things I don't do myself. But the time for action is now time for talk is over. Talk is great. I hope this motivates you to do something. But as my friend, Jenny says, and I'll say all the time in this show. Ginny Thomas. She's great. She says. You're the leaders we've been waiting for. You don't wait for someone else. Action matters. It's time to do. There's no easy answers. Everyone is going to have to sacrifice a little bit of something in order to get this country back from really the dark path to totalitarianism we're on. Now there's now no longer a doubt. "This is creation story at uncork uncork as a product is is the concept of enterprise software development often times different. Enterprises are building very similar software. In the second you write code. You've got maintenance and so the idea for encore was what if we can build the kind of enterprise grade building blocks so that you can build a repeatable no maintenance no dat solution and so that's kind of the fundamental course you can go in a what's the business problem trying to solve in. I'm gonna drag drop enterprise create solutions and build it and it's been amazing uncork stun prior to my arrival. You think about know in the in the middle of cove it you know. Working with new york city to deliver millions of meals to ta- customers or you think about bentley working with state so that they can innovate and deliver that relief to people. That really need it so kind of you know doing just doing good in the world and at the same time helping some of the largest enterprises around the globe build applications faster and more customer centric whether it be goldman black rock marsh. Liberty principal tremendous tremendous progress. So what i would say is to me. Uncork allows businesses to focus on their key differentiator and built quickly built enterprise applications that meet their customers needs so I've been involved in a lot of transformational things cryer jenny joining uncork iran product and engineering company called new relic which basically made sure that the internet works. Right has high quality solutions and i heard about unimportant. Where three things that really got me excited about it. You know as one. I'm a big believer. That culture matters and purposeful culture. And so i think leaders you know gary and team had really been purposeful in the culture that they were trying to do secondly something that would change the world because uncork is not only changing the way enterprises build develop maintained enterprise software but it's also making development more accessible right so not if you have the developer mindset. You could do it. And then third just a huge opportunity where i felt that the only question was who's going to drive this fundamental change in the way enterprises again maintain a build and develop software. So that's what brought me to uncork in. It's it's an exciting right. Have been here almost nine months. Now

In Virginia, Military Veterans Take on Their Next Mission: Farming

"Almost half of America's farmers are planning to retire in the next five years, and it's not clear who will replace them. But a group in Alexandria may have a solution. They're working to introduce veterans to farming. As CBS national correspondent Chip Reid tells US vets and farmers have a lot in common. Jenny has camp spent 15 years as a United States Marine. Now she's a farmer with a focus on flowers. These are what I want. She learned the science and the art of farming here at Arcadia Farm in Alexandria, Virginia, on land once owned by George Washington. It's exhausting. It's hot. It's buggy, and it's the most satisfying and the happiest I've ever been. She began three years ago in Arcadia's part time veteran Farmer Reserve program that gives veterans and opportunity to decide if farming is for them. For her. It was a perfect fit. I think it's an incredible program for veterans transitioning from years of service into the next career, she now farms here full time and dreams of one day having a small farm of her own. Pamela Hess is executive director of Arcadia Farm and helped create the veteran farmer program. The goal is to give veterans an opportunity to earn a living in a new but surprisingly similar. Walk of life. They can work in all temperatures. They can carry very heavy loads. They're great at long term planning. They are not freaked out by crisis. Farmers and military folks have a very similar mindset when it comes to their work. Farming is a mission oriented business in the same way that military mission is you can't stop at five o'clock you stop when the mission is

Are Weight-Loss Companies Just a Money Making Operation?

"Thought it would be very interesting to look at some weight. Loss companies around the united states. That say that they are all about you weight fast. It is known specifically to my friends and those closest to me that i've always had a cynical view on companies such as weight watchers nutrisystem. Slimfast and jenny craig disclosure here. I haven't tried neum. But they seem more in line to my beliefs of getting to the root of the weight issue internally with mindfulness and sidebar here if anybody has had an experience with neum maybe you can fill me in on that. Why do i have a cynical view. Well it's simple. All these companies with the exception of possibly neum are hardcore money making schemes these companies prey on us at our most vulnerable desperate times and they know it they may say they have your best interest at heart but Do they do they really. Let's look at some of the basic facts. Do they have a fee attached to their promise. Probably and i would say yes. Do they sell their own food products. Probably and that's another. Yes on my opinion. And lastly do they an anyway. Teach you how to keep the weight off when you reach your goal on their program and no longer need their program. "Welcome david i am just really happy to speak with you about these things at this exact time and i'm really excited to speak with you. Thank you very much. And you know if i were to ask you your current mission statement at this point in your life at this point in your work for your relationship with plants and planted spaces whether that's personal at home or it's also as manifested by teramoto. What would that mission statement be. David you know. I just did a funny thing last week where i was looking at our office profile on our website and we kind of have a think manifesto is too strong a word but we have kind of a a series of paragraphs that kind of outline what you're asking and i actually listeria and i looked at it and i was like. Oh my gosh this is out of date. And so then. I added in a couple of sentences that kind of explained that this manifesto or a this belief system is allowed to change any ball any point in time. "The Murder Farm": The Story of 19th Century Serial Killer Belle Gunness

"Bell and mads lived a relatively quiet uneventful life in the suburbs. There were no more fires. No suspicious payouts. In fact there's hardly anything to note from this period of her life but then in eighteen ninety six one of the foster children under bells care died and then another in eighteen ninety eight officially the cause of death for both was colitis which is a chronic digestive disease. Not one batted. An eye at the diagnosis. Colitis was common enough at the time and no one dreamed of blaming bell. In fact she went on to adopt three more kids. Jenny myrtle and lucy without any problems but in more recent years there's some suspicion that bell might have had a hand in the children's deaths. We don't want to speculate too much here. Given that there's no real evidence to back anything up but for reasons that will become obvious later on many now suspect that the colitis was caused by strychnine poisoning. If that was in fact the case then that was the first time bell killed. It's hard to understand why she would want to kill her foster children. But we simply don't know what was going on in the household at that time. Whatever it was by nineteen hundred forty one year old bell was restless. There's nothing to tell us why but she wanted another fresh start. She reminisced about the last time she was able to start from square one. How easy it had been to set the fire. Get paid and start over. She wondered if she could set fire to their new house and get the same result but she had to admit the doing the exact same thing again might raise eyebrows so she tried to think of other ways to get similar results and then she hit on an idea. Maybe it wasn't a place. She had to get rid of but a person.

Oh yeah, it's like I do get that from your Instagram posts after the constipation as you thought it was all obsessed with constipation. Well it's pretty lunch time here. So let's go back to Falls. Okay. Then. So you've had some interesting cases surrounding Falls, you want to talk about it real quick and then we can jump into preventing them. Yes, Jenny. I see patients being admitted with Falls every single day and there are certain patterns in in the Falls but every patient is individual and not every single one of them has to have a personalized approach to that falls management. One of the struggles I have in acute hospital setting which I seen long area attractions adopted. That approach is assigning the full to one single medical problem. For example, I'll give you a very recent example. It was this week, a page with vascular dementia was admitted to hospital with a fool. Unfortunately, she broke her pelvic bone. And when she was, she was seen and spend a couple of days in there is a huge assessment unit and then came down to my geriatric Ward and Her diagnosis was urinary tract infection and the cause of her fall was thought. The secondary to that urinary tract infection but of course let's face it. How many of us haven't had it urinary tract infection? I had two episodes long journey. I don't know about you. BP's Role in a Net-Zero Carbon World

"What is it about that you think differentiates them in this space that it's quite progressive to say that you're you think that an oil and gas firm is exact right place to be in looking at decarbonization the energy transition. I actually think that if we want to play a critical role getting to the paris alignments the carbonized energy systems. We need to walk energy companies. I think that's the first element brooches you conscious decarbonize energy systems by walking with companies. But if we really want to get the pass alignment winnie talks support such as us which energy plus industry transport represents seventy percent of global emissions. So we need to really work with companies such as Gas companies to actually help them decarbonised in. Go along that journey. So i i don't see joining a company such as vpn Gas company which is committed to she decarbonising as a progressive jenny. I think it's actually very much lines towards the ambition on the purpose in terms of what is unique about ep. When i actually had my first conversation with the time when i was actually considering jet joining the had already involved on a series of multiple conversations with multiple types of stakeholders from institutional stakeholders eeg governments. They called as with investors across the world and with less obvious stakeholders such as ngos and some of the most challenging gio so there was a whole process of listening which was going on and that person of listening actually very much shaped his perspective and also the l. tease perspective leadership teams perspective. So what. I was actually struck by the super superstrong alignment within the whole leadership team within the company itself on this ambition to transition at the end of the day. If you're actually working in the morning gas company and your delivering energy to the world he also wanna feel good about what you're doing and in equivocally we all delivering energy to the world's anna frame of the energy transition we have capabilities in the skills to continue doing so trudy energy transition and and towards the low-carbon well

I've i've fallen in pretty much every that that you can fall into when people ask me why survived when other people. Haven't i think it comes with a lot of things. I think it comes from the fact that i learned in the very beginning to put a system to the game to treat it like a business and to approach studying with a certain kind of intensity and i think that that ability to treat the game like a business is what helped me in the beginning but a lot of people did that right. I think what else helped me was. Just that like men. I like it the the pastor you know. I think that that's another thing i think. I just have a certain kind of stubbornness in increasing this Maybe i know if it's craziness exactly. But i do think to play at the highest stakes. Like i do that. Steve Pearce Describes the Biggest Opportunity for Voice in McDonald's' Digital Business

"Did they start how to. Mcdonald's start looking at voice when it comes to the k. also ended up mon ching An alexa skill. Tell us a little bit about jenny. Yes show so you think you're looking voice in the market has kind of been key. Things may not always try and keep quite close to technology and and trends and a dining anyone could ignore. How how much voices grinder the last few years especially. I'm not percents People use voice. Assistant where is on a small firing or high. I am so it was. It was something that we have to look into a and b That emerging trend says really exciting for us about a kind of dig into voice. Eloy can date for us today but then trying to build a right map for the future as well. Well just thinking a little bit about roy. Bap as we say voices definitely maturing. I think i would say over the past twelve months. We've seen it coming out the innovation space and being much more embedded into different lines of business. I'm we're seeing businesses looking at it in terms of conversational marketing and being part of the digital strategy site Why do you see the biggest opportunity for voice at in the digital business at mcdonalds. Yeah i think i'm right now. We have to look at how consumers engage voice. I am. And i think it's fantasize the moment we say as i can engage platform across say looking at kind of our website. Very similar kind of model is how someone would maybe come into to greet the brand of mcdonald's and then how we can then hand off to of digital products am oversee the navan bay get to digital ordering some point but we need to make sure that seamless some friction as customers the Now off i could How do we get people engaging with the skill and then hand david to a more established digital products because mcdonald's is really convenience water from we've got on mike Mentioned after and think voice has a way to integrate nicely with with apps in the future. You just maybe context for those watching the just tell us a little bit about what the digital ordering experience of mobile is like right now at mcdonald's because it's different around the world yes show there's them a few markets that have them have the we have here in a mcdonald's and so we we branded it as the mcdonald's app say the this gives you the ability to place in the end to end order whether it's at a restaurant or something we've recently launched his will cooling delivery so this gives the ability to have your order delivered by an essentially. It's a you've visited. Mcdonald's you say nice big Kiosks you can order yourself in his having one of them in your pocket you create your account then able to browse off full menu at any item you want and then choose a class. "jenny" Discussed on Doin it! with Danny and Jenny

"Welcome, welcome back with Jenny Johnson and a very special episode of Millionaire Matchmaker today. It really is Jenny. I'm going to let you take me because I have watched I feel like as a man you showed me what men do to women in terms of harassment and objectification. It's helped me understand what I how I need to be a better person is what God but you've treated our our guest tonight. Well our guests tonight. I mean, this is I don't this is like the most important podcast. I feel like we've done by a month. I mean, this is my life partner my soulmate, you know, we've hybrid our names together like the way they do age. And what is it worth being with my life partner at this stage of my life just finally home, right? It makes this like pandemic easier, you know, when you have a soul mates way that we are you know, what we have together is what people drink from I think God I just want to get I want to I'm going to put in the Baseline and I'm going to disappear become a third wheel, you know, which is most of my high school and college and frankly adult life. So for those not familiar and I would make yourselves familiar Jenny would send absolute love poems too. Keen on line and the way we knew Keith was fun job. Play back just as good and it was and how did this all start when was contact made do we were member? What was your meet cute? I remember you said I definitely started Thursday. We have a mutual friend Josh mankiewicz and and I'll make a list right and I was like, I just I love your episodes of Dateline. And so for some reason I just thought okay. Let's let me just pretend to be in love with you on social media and then and then I just made the Assumption when I would write that you felt the same way. So I started just referring to you. It's like you feel the same way obviously and then you play back with me dead. I'm over you, you know to meet you or something. I would absolutely love it. I feel like our paths have crossed and weird ways a few years ago. I was in New York and I went to the Dateline offices and nice folks there Katie Bloom who is one of those. Yeah. She says by the way, I think you were actually on a conference call and I said like I was in the office like our paths have crossed but I would not have been rushed across your drinking. Oh, it's an emergency thing cuz I feel like I was getting a cold in my Sam Houston State University alumni with a VIN a pointed question. So I have not in right now. So when I want to hear I want to hear from Keith on this so when this crazy woman on Twitter starts professing her love what time? Reaction. Like what do you what do you thinking? This is my lucky day. That's a perfect answer. It really is. It's the perfect birthday know she's bright. She's funny. She's beautiful than any person. I think so. Let's just say goodnight song that was like playing back was really funny. And I love how many people that follow you and follow me. We'll like I get people sending me things. So if you seen Keith on a wreath instead of elf on the shelf for like people always tag me in everything that you're included and it's like have you seen your boyfriend you can doing this or your husband's going home? It's kind of amazing. Like how many people have enjoyed our courtship via social media and now how long Actual woman in your life feel about this month. There was a moment where you were on a plane and you asked a friend of mine if she could trade with you to set so you could sit next to your wife as a few friend Joanie and she liked X Migos. I actually switched he he said, you know, would you mind and I only because I moved up to me and she traded state so he could sit with his wife of what else can you feel about like the same that you have from doesn't make any sense to me at all. I mean I just stood a goof who does Dateline but people have been I've been very nice to me and they they put me on read something. So what you said Josh was telling you about when y'all Saint should prime time and he's like it it's like walking around with Mick Jagger off the response that you get but I can fully see it. I mean people like crime True Crime shows in general are a huge thing right now. I mean, it's like massive but it's like years or leader bikes like you're the boss. You know, I keep waiting for that immediately stopped dead always like this, but then women in particular are really respond to these shows now you've been with it was that always the case gave birth. It was the case that we that we became a true crime show and we we morphed we we we used to be just you know, all kinds of things. You said it was a chicken salad of a show and and fun to do but immensely but once we started to really get into True Crime it kind of mirror off the increasing public interest, but that is I would say that the people who Watch our show or probably you know 75% Why is that what you do? You have a do you think that is dead? I know either used to the profanity of Menace ozone. They.

Like I just want to work with this is unlike I'm just freaked out our kids are basically the same age. I know and you could be my son if I had gotten busy earlier, but that's dead. Yeah, my twins are twenty two and my son is nineteen. It's bonanno's adopted twenty-three-year-old. So okay, you are showing off now Michael. This is not attractive off. I don't advocate for most people, you know, I I I was lucky I met the right person. We were married for twenty years and we raised two beautiful kids that's amazing. And then she kind of moved on to do her own thing and I moved back towards his business and that was something she didn't really want so we kind of found our own path and you know, it's one of those things you gotta know what you want but family, you know, I love all the roles I get to play with but the most important role I'll ever had of is being dead. And that's the only one that I'm you're replaceable in see I disagree for me for me. It's like when I get to do long little walk-on on the sitcoms like you get one line, that's the most important thing and then writing and then your twins. Look at you when you post videos. Yeah. Yeah dead. It's really cloudy. It's like her I actually just met one of my daughter's boyfriends. She she's dead and wish I was over by the house today and like he like follow me on some of that stuff and she might be just fine daughter. Just killing like this just like I didn't have to deal with that with my dad another question. Just I'm sorry to go back towards an my name is Jenny. Go right ahead and Michael I just have to so one of the Hallmarks of Roseanne from behind the scenes was this was that there were very few writers thoughts on that show who were writers on that show for more than 2 years. Right most were on there like myself for one year. Yeah and and and get it done and launch it into something else. Yeah, like you said in the credits as I'm rewatching and I always look to see like the it was like, well there is a lot of new names, you know new names and it just grew Mean, I think what I was earlier 28 writers total like in different rooms and it was very crazy. But like what was that like from both from your standpoint? And from the non Roseanne because there's an urgent care but about that as much but from the standpoint of the actors or from cuz it was the one thing I would say about Roseanne is a show that I didn't that was for.

"We're just so like there was a glimmer of who you got all were and wage. How it developed and then even like the addition of like when Johnny Galecki came in to that show and I was watching him interact with the family and burning. It's like I never seen a kid actors do what you all did and it's sort of you raised the bar. I mean you just you it's it's funny because now you can't really do suck kids like those ages. Yeah and and go if you go to the cutesy stuff your your TGIF Nickelodeon, you know, and yeah, do you know what I mean? I can definitely was raised because nothing was off-limits. And and like Jenny said we all had such strong opinions, but also they never gave us a pass if there was a subject in the house. Everybody had to have an opinion which I that's real life. I've never been in a house with people where everybody didn't have some opinion. Yeah. Yeah, and I was a hidden from you or something like it was dead. You know the the way that everything in the acting on Rosanna made yourself and everyone Goodman, I mean like just every everyone is so good on the show just like even the fact, you know, Crystal, you know, yeah, I mean just like every person's like just think their voice whatever is just so good and it's so it's so strong and like I I love that each character has such a strong role that like people go. Oh you're acting like I'm Becky or Darlene or you know, like it's that strong instead of in your right hand. You don't see that so much like you don't and you really want to own, you know strive for that I think in in as creators, but okay now I want to get to some questions. Okay. I wanted to ask you for a while when we ran into each other. I guess a couple of years ago. We never ever had already talked. It was like so great. I forgot what it might have been on it was on one of those shows like but remember where we run into each other it was something quick. It was really quick while we were talking dog. Like I say you want to talk about so your child's on a show on a second which is always interesting. But you were a child on Roseanne and I don't know if you've heard but I thought it was a famously volatile set. It was it was it was like epically know and what I was wondering was what was your awareness of everything everything? I think that's the part that people misconceive about me because I'm a generally positive guy..

I like to think of every week because it really is what people and I take off total compliment people describe that as the best 60 seconds of our show every week it I'll say it's beautiful. I got a absolutely beautiful, it's me. I appreciate that Eli break took time out of his writing songs about Robin Quivers net, you know, but I get that like about you. "We're going to find the the cross it sounds and if we find the girl Prince, we're going to get her a crack in band. Maybe we'll even get Wendy and Lisa up there took my idea was to like put them together and like give them all the tools to to just be huge cuz I am in my my motivation was so altruistic. It's cuz I want job See that I don't see it. You know, I don't I still don't see it. It drives me crazy. Where's the female about not go to a series? I would watch the shit. I you know what they chose over like a hacker languishing us and development. They chose the Pussycat and made that into a show. Shocking I still find My Notes sometimes I'm like, you know, like with all my ideas and all the little like this is right at the beginning of reality T where they took the test and all that which I just I want to go out but I'm in scripted but I swear to God I'm going to talk. This is a good idea. Yeah. Yeah. This is your birthday we book and we'll talk. I got a really good. No, no, no. No, I'm just I'm just want to be clear. I'm going to steal it from you. But I'm like great it was and is called girl band USA thought that was a great idea know we I think it's amazing that that's not on. Okay. I think we're at the time right so last question. No, we're not. I'm just kidding. It just seems like it went fast but no I did go fast. I didn't realize like I love caffeine I do too is like the highlight of my pandemic Right. Now I'm kind of a variety you guys so much better than God, you know better to have faith. I just want to say I agree that I'm terrible know your guys the best we couldn't do this without guy. I don't think I can do it off. Anyway, I mean I would want to put up with you want to deal with me. I can't I barely want to deal with me like some so quick question what we always talk about anything. You're watching Cathy that you've been of like comedy or drama or what's the thing that you're used T show read anything? Oh my God, what has been saving me for some reason. I don't know. Why song Never did it but I started about a week ago watching Friday Night Lights and I'm just obsessed. I'm obsessed with Friday Night Lights and like I haven't been like that in a while and I am admit that my I'm so embarrassed but I'll say it I did binge out Emily in Paris with my daughter the only because it was Paris only because it was Paris founded served a purpose. It made her interested in going to where they call it. When you go to school abroad abroad heavy. Yeah, you're interested in studying abroad for her sophomore year, so but but it was so cringey and bad and with my hero worship of you a little bit it took you down a notch. Yeah, and I'm like eagerly waiting Better Call Saul surely that's coming out soon. I can't wait. Yes, I mean insane, so I'm not a big T. I just sounds like I am, but I'm not a big T Watcher. I'm really not so when I do get home. I do it the way I do most things in a very obsessive and compulsive way. So I don't really have time in my life to do it very often. Otherwise, I would just not be a Creator or any more often. But but that's the thing now, I'm just like those are good Jenny.

"I just did that in like 24 hours last week days ago. I would definitely get a link to all of this. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, who is the biggest asshole and willing to talk about like another band like not not treat you guys with? Yeah, who was somebody that was just a fucking dick off the things I wrote in my I don't mean to keep doing this. I promise but it's just a part of my life now, but I I was I saw a pattern come out in the writing that like wage the sexism and the the the obstacles came from guys that weren't artists like the musicians were always so supportive from the time. I was a teenager to like we open for the police to opening for the stones. I can't say I can't think of anybody that that that was a dick off the head but you know what? I'm really likeable so if they are addicting Going to be a dick to me. So that's the problem with that or anyone that was addicted and go on to make a so and if they were they probably were addicted someone else but I can't, I don't have a problem dishing on people but I can't so what what I'm getting from this Kathy is that Hall and Oates for Monsters holla notes for fun on Thursday is really got a bad. They're pretty they got some raunchy stuff in their past. I heard that before the notes What notes a little Perv, I think there was some stuff in there, you know. Yeah. I mean now it's I think a lot of us in the eighties are grateful. We didn't have like, you know TMZ and all that stuff around my God. I'm grateful. I don't have Facebook when I was in high school. I can't imagine TMZ being around. This is truly gotta be the worst time on Earth to be honest. It's like it's just like I can't even want a nightmare that much and you get canceled. Like if you say the wrong thing like, you know, it's like and you have to be so p c a m o is this is this political? You know, what am I going to offend somebody and I'm like too much of a people like I I still care whether people like me I wanted my I strive to not care, you know, you would think it's 61 I wouldn't care but I still care enough. Yeah, I know obviously I didn't ten years younger than I am and I'm like some like six years. Then yell so it's like you're doing like I'm like I was trying to do the math. I feel like one day it's all like one day. I'm just going to look in the mirror and it's all like going to happen at once. You're going to get the wall like you're going to yawn weird and then suddenly you're going to be like, you know, I'm sure that's what's going to happen. It's like one day. I mean now it's like every now and then you catch a glimpse you're like, oh creepy and it's like it's kind of weird but I so far. I'm okay with with the whole my goal is to do a whole aging thing cuz there's just so much shit that nobody tells women about getting older and like that might be one of my future books is like rock and roll like the like just the the truth about a really happens cuz nobody told me this stuff. I saw no. I know it's like it's it's very strange. I wasn't expecting I like no one really warn me as a man that oh now it's just a fact of life that you'll be three times in the middle of birth. You're getting like that's fun..

"I don't know whether you had this whether you guys had this game show, but there's a game show back in the sort of I think maybe originally in the sixties which was called call my bluff and it was called my bluff is basically a home show where you have a comedian or a celebrity that will read something out and then the other people have to guess whether it's true or false whether it's a lie, or whether you're telling the truth and that was really successful for a long time, but it was awful funny. And then the addition what I like to do is a reworking of that concept, but in this instance, what happens is when you tell your your your lie or your fact about yourself Then the other people on the panel get to interrogate you and try and like call you out on your bullshit and that show is fantastic. It's so funny. It's off to tell the truth or something. Yeah, like attack you let's say this this is it double life in the in the UK. We were very absurd comedians very much in in this sort of the the hilt of Spike Milligan called Vic and Bob Vic Reeves off Mortimer. And Bob Mortimer is one of my favorite guests on that show because he's had such an extraordinary life. That he will come on and he'll say a fact about his life and you're like there is literally no way that that's true. Like one of them for example was that he does his own dental work on himself. Oh my God, and and you're like, well, there's no way that's true and cut forward just like 5 minutes in the routine. And absolutely he does his own dental work and he sits on his couch with really literally drills his own teeth. Yeah, absolutely successfully or is there something that you're going to try later this a good job, and I'm not I'm not talking by British standards. I'm telling you. I'll tell you by American Standards honesty, I think so, I mean from what you can tell I think he does a good job. Yeah. So check out a shoe box and would like would I lie to you is you yourself. Have you spawn children yourself? Yeah, really? My daughter Milligan. He's she's 8 a.m. But my question I mean my question is is she if she came to you and said, hey Dad really like flirting with this idea of being chained up and lowered into a tank of piranhas off. Like are you like where do you come down? Like do you like do you like are you happy to pass like you got like father daughter day or like do you get like yeah, they sort of eventually wage, you know a be a real hypocrite. If I said, no, you know, I mean ultimately there I have to draw the line and at some point, you know, if it's like I'm in the middle of making an escape group like a live virtual escape room. And is that right now? Yeah, I mean a workshop right now. We're putting the whole thing together, but part of that is, I'm going to walk Barefoot on blood broken glass..

"You were coming south on PCH or Sepulveda. My kids pointed this out with me too. I mean go and it's like anytime a car wash pulled up anytime between like the airport and say Redondo. Oh, yeah. It was always a black person or a Latina are free time. Like it's like off your saw a white person pulled over on that street. They were uniform right? It was like something that they must have pulled him over to help. No, I had a flat tire and the cop pulled over to help him like and how many times if you see a person of color with handcuffs standing behind their car because their car matched the description and that's bullshit. You know, they look through it and it's like we didn't find anything go on about your business. Let's take the handcuffs off but we handcuffed you for your safety and my safety which is horrible. But if you've if you've never been in trouble in your life, you're a law-abiding citizen the dignity that is taken from you. It's crazy. Cuz if you're staying with handcuffs on each car that passes is looking at you going. What did this fucker? Do? You know, like you're you're there is a there's a documentary called Murder on a Sunday morning. That's really off my screen that it's the person that did the staircase it. Was that like, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah I did. So that's why I saw it and when the the kid was identified as the person who pulled the trigger when he didn't do it song Show they they asked the man who just saw his wife murdered to look in the kid was sitting in the back seat of the police car. That's him. Everyone looks guilty sitting in the back seat of a police or everyone. Let's jump off an orange jumpsuit and shackles. Yes. Absolutely. You know, like that's not fair and that just because of the color of your skin and I I think this is the time for why people to be listening not no, I I completely I completely agree. I don't want to I don't want to say no. I just kind of little listen and and look, you know, and I'm going to retweet the black people. I follow on Thursday the causes and and and and marks do all that but it's like but it's like it's yeah now is not the time for like a lots are too I feel like you know, like people who look like me have gotten to speak for a couple thousand years pretty freely. Right? Well, I mean, yeah, it's certainly has been you know, white men for sure how long Yeah, we have. Yeah, we've we've done okay, you know and and there's there's certainly like that's what I can't stand the whole like the the the Karen world of like women have of course. I worked in sports. I like yeah, I understand that. I've been I've been talked over a lot like, you know like that that's you you know, it happens. It's it's not it's not something that it doesn't have I was so dying to talk over you just there was going on that's what you and I should just wait but but this this is not what this is about, right? It is a this is the time for everyone to just listen to work. Exactly one hundred percent that initial Segway us into the last segment here when we talk about things we've been watching and also but and they don't have to be like socially conscious but I will say if you can cuz it's it's a it's I almost want to talk to a lot of people who disagree with me dead. Okay, she Ava duvernay's 13 on Netflix watch that amazing. It's amazing. It's so high opening and and like you also be ashamed that it's eye-opening because they're like you we all should have noticed this but fuck it we will now and make sure you watch that. That was what they I liked that is now do you have something that's not a socially but I do have something that's not a social like do you want to do yeah tell me tell me your things and then we'll go do you want to play dueling? I'll just go through the other ones I watch and I really laughed hard at Eurovision the the the Will Ferrell movie yet. I haven't seen it yet. I hadn't heard like great things. So I you know, I hadn't either I watch it. I don't know what it just hit me in the right mood. There are some giant laughs of that. It reminded me of old Will Ferrell movies and it was like and it was excited though. It's great job. So I I mean, it's funny. There's some huge jokes in it like entertaining you holy get that joke was like huge. Yeah. So I and mine is so my HBO Now app has turned HBO Max, oh it transitioned. And so, you know a trio Max know has like everything like but also like off their original programming and they're they're okay. Have you seen search party know? I know I have to see it. I hear it's great. Okay. So the third season had just come out on Friday and I was like, well, let me watch you know, the first two seasons are on here. I'll start watching it. Okay there ten episodes each season half hours. It could just turn off on Thursday. So actually the first they're not even in. I fucking plowed through this it is I'm sure plenty of people will have their opinion. It was so fucking entertaining to me like the writing the story to acting so I will I will start it tonight. I cannot wait to hear your opinion cuz I was watching it like just it's so it's such a dark dark comedy club. I'm excited. Yeah, I really and it's it's all in New York too. And it's like these Millennials that are you know, kind of self-absorbed. Like I'm really excited about this. I really want you to think as I can for your opinion, but that has that was my favorite thing that I like. I started watching it and just well I also loved I'll be gone in the dark the first episode of oh, I I I have it. I got it. I know it's I know it's Michelle McNamara like I know like what an amazing individual this this woman dead. Was I mean just what she did it's a six-part series. Also. I love the new Perry Mason the other one. I have to see I heard it's great. It's great. It's really good. There's so many dead. Andrew Howard is in his and he he plays he's the sweetest guy like, you know for Lord, but like I bet every time he goes in to audition. They're just like, oh, here's your tracksuit and gold chain.
