"Why are we here and what are we doing is that that question is always good to ask the question as we get to that think about what's going on in the world is big wide Wonderful World committed to your success are we on the DJB program Doug Stephan general horn bricks are a key then another hour on Monday the twenty fifth of November one more week can we say that together it sounds like a chant of the game right one more week one more week thanksgiving is this week will be able to greet you live on thanksgiving day with all the trimmings if you know what I mean right now Jennifer is going to give us the update on Michael Bloomberg Lou and usually have the like that when I'm done big announcement that then and then it's official when it's a big announcement like that it's only official winner in and threat eighty exactly site so so you're ready okay I thought that like so such build up okay he then that's better okay okay so that doesn't work let's try something else you'd care when you want to do since there is a quick Vienna Craig and for this are in connection with internet just completely went out lovely in a second hopefully so Victoria Bloomberg has entered the race we like that you do I do I think there's much we on the see this is what bothers me about it he's not into the officially announces well let's becomes is that media of news media baloney the guy was in no you've been saying I know I've been saying that because he was in a way you have it no common sense he's already committed to spending millions of dollars before he announced is so I think this becomes pretty seal the reason the reason that he hasn't fully announced until now is because anyone who is familiar with Michael Bloomberg and I think the rest of the country will probably soon become familiar with him he is he's a date a guy he loves data and he doesn't do anything without lots and lots of data behind his decisions and so he has been gathering as much data as possible on his chances to run what the outcome could be he's been doing his own individual polling at he's been independently looking at different situations from all angles the that's the only reason so he must feel on some level that he does have the chance to make a difference in the race and that's why he announced on Sunday that he is fully in now so that gives me hope because I know what you know that I know how much of a date a guy he is so that does give me hope that he does feel that he'll make an impact and I think that's really important well I think he's that drafting his commercials that he's already started he's committed to like thirty seven million dollars in advertising which is kind of interesting but he yeah I think it is going to use that money to not only advanced his campaign but also to advance the message of what he thinks Democrats should be running on and so there's a there's a Cup yeah which is not the Elizabeth Warren Bernie Sanders store right okay all around him they're running for the ultimate prize he's putting a lot of money in this race to defeat trump he's not at ended depending on if it's him or whoever he's putting that money behind that effort that's number one number two is I think that because the party sort of in shambles right now he does have a opportunity one that maybe he didn't have during the primary where he thought or I'm sure wouldn't let in the spring when he thought he couldn't win the primary because he just didn't think the Democrat party would let him do that so now he's got a pending impeachment trial that it's going up against president trump in the Senate that will tie people up some of the senators were running he's got to a split race where people are actually getting in instead of getting out so it's very possible that there could be a contested convention which would actually allow him to when he's not on any of the early voting ballots which is going to be a problem so if he is a real if he is a data data guy that's one of the things Jeff jazz I was laying yeah what what is land being right exactly but I think that he would not jump yeah if he he would not jump in if he didn't think he could make an impact and so that's what I think is really interesting about this late entry he would not do this on a defined he's got some what's the what's the definition of him while he's spending I think it in five swing states that's why he's spending twenty million on voter registration and that's not even further in his own campaign that's just on voter registration so he obviously has a plan that's separate from him becoming the president or the nominee so there's something else in there and I I think that's kind of interesting to me because I follow him and I I like him and so I think that there's something that he knows that maybe the public doesn't know yet and that's kind of how he operates it's how he became a billionaire it's he saw he he's a he's a market disruptor farmers miners he's one of the original disruptors before they even became a phrase he saw an opportunity that Wall Street needed data and that's how he started the Bloomberg report that's why he started that's what made him a billionaire I think it's just kind of interesting when you step back from politics and just sort of look at how a business a truly successful business person operates I think he has a brilliant mind and I don't know I just I find it kind of intriguing to just sort of watch his strategy in this and try to well it out what also I find intriguing about him is it will you just triggered something in me when you talk about his business accu men one of the things that is made him successful versus what's happened with Google and with cats and win again very with similar with what's his face it soccer Berg doctor Marie thank you is that he's good with people he understands people he encourages these people he pays them I doesn't right backgammon love working at him love working in this circumstance and that's not the case with soccer Berg or those towards a Google or wherever the some of these other huge I don't even know I mean what's his face and a booby Los bolos with who's the guy Bayes as yeah as those guys are not as highly respected regarded by their employees as is Michael Bloomberg and so there's that personal side of things those stories you won't hear whispers of anything of from the people who work for him on the campaign trail that is that that's the other thing you know you hear these whispers about everybody there's a story about everybody matter fighters interesting this Andrew Yang thing seems to be taking on a life of its own I don't know if you heard about that he's calling on M. S. N. B. C. for giving him less than seven minutes of talking time in the debate lower than anybody else and he's claiming a certain amount of prejudice he says that he will not go on with them again but again unless they give him an on air apology I think we need them and he said that they think we need them he says we don't and as I think that's true I don't know that anybody needs MSNBC had not the same as people used to think they needed fox and I'm not even sure that they need fox anymore but anyway Yang's polling shows him at three percent his neck and neck with Amy clubber shar and above Cory Booker but they got ten minutes a talking time Tom Stiers whose polling less than one percent cut a largest head to get into that debate right I mean yeah spend a ton of money to get in there yeah yeah so I don't know I think intriguing has a case against them as they all do they all like kind of they all pick their favorites and this is something that has happened and it was not news it's just that well okay an advocate twenty seventeen the Democrat party kind of I mean see which well whether Bernie was a serious candidate or not obviously he's proven himself to be a serious candidate two times now they were given debate questions Hillary Clinton to make it easier on her so it's not new that the news media and that the party tries to push ahead the people they want and not and try to hinder the people that they don't yeah all right let's see if we can figure out what's going on within the case this navy seal commando Eddie Gallagher who charge Richard Spencer the navy secretary with meddling in his case and apparently he was fired yeah that is Spencer was fired because of that the president's been all over this is there some background the this is kind of an interesting interviews out on fox you can imagine at this sort of thing on just like the other thing with MSNBC gonna figure this sort of interview would be on on fox but I don't know he was demoted by the secretary of the navy he was convicted of bringing discredit to the arms services after posting text to a dead ISIS fighters body which is against regulations apparently Spencer thought that was awful and the president think it does good so I don't IRA I don't know anything that allowed it yeah I think I don't think anybody celebrating it they're just saying what is the right product punishment for someone like this and so he was acquitted already of the murder charges and so now the question is what's to happen to him what happened to his family all that stuff so over the weekend the defense secretary is mark asper and he fired secretary Richard Spencer as you said because Richard Spencer was seen to be putting his thumb on the scale of it as to what would happen to this guy that isn't it think about that putting his thumb on the scale that thank you Jennifer that was sick the scales of general day yeah so as per said that he had lost confidence in Spencer alleging that the navy secretary proposed to deal with the White House behind his back to resolve the seals case so a he thought to it I think everybody drive asper included mark mark asper directed at that Gallagher should be allowed to retire November thirtieth as the seal at its current rank giving that trump and basically giving what trump has been saying that he should just be pushed into retirement and that he should just not be demoted essentially and that's what they were going for and it seems that that's what is going to happen now probably is this is kind of a win for him hi this comfort with this sure seems came from no where where I don't know that any of this stuff this is it this story came out a couple years ago when he first got out there I mean our days with reality in terms of recent focus Adam that remember this thing just seem to act like doing a very close to.

I couldn't say is get ahead in the game and the fifth anniversary celebration of wild started last week so you can play through three different expansions with three losses ossis each expansion and a specific phase from each just. Event the trivia that I usually fail I can't remember the interest each time and the world boss bonds that happened. So Oh oh this is going to happen through January seventh. I'm much longer period of time. Compared to the past years and Blizzard has clarified that eight point. Three in the Nile. Oath a rate will go live early next next year to give people time to finish the palace into a time with their families and enjoy the anniversary festivities along with Disney. Plus this week which I can't Ed start watching to relive a ton of old movies and shows my youth. Blizzard has also announced that face of classic is launching. So while you're watching even Stevens lizzy McGuire you can also be battling Keswick in. Asia goes as well as the Pierre's which during Bush on E.. And said you better have your hillsborough done before this launches and during uh-huh putting ceremony I recall them saying that they welcome back a million players. This is in line with what was announced the recent earnings call so tampering reports that Classic Grove the biggest quarterly increases subscription plans in franchise history in both the West and the east and that they reach in October remained well above pre classic levels with with deep engagement across classic and modern aircraft and there was significant growth in the size of the woodwork. Audience while they're getting thick and blizzard had thirty three million. Mau's which stands for monthly active users across all was properties. Well that's going to do it this report so it's been fun time for me to head back into outright valid to die many in many many many many painful deaths to the horde so I can.

"They love everybody to know about. It doesn't really matter in terms of newer content anymore because it's been defunct for like three or four years already at this point but it's called every frame a painting and it is absolutely spectacular. I wish to God that they would have kept going Because they're so very good but I think they grew up in got real jobs. Doing this probably someplace that pays them instead so but yeah I can't. I cannot recommend highly enough every frame of painting. Even if this sort of stuff isn't necessarily your bag. They're not that long long they're really interesting and focus on one very specific thing and they show a spectacular examples of it is just really really really cool really interesting read. It is another thing that I'm really big on as on our eleven years and I'm very proud of that I don't know why but the commission stuff that I mentioned before is like a nerd hobby maybe of mine that stuff that I like read newsletters about and research and stuff like that because it's just super interesting to me so your career feeds. We could be because because it's also an interesting that the passion. Yeah and then I think probably the last thing that I probably don't talk that much about is I really love hacker culture and Internet culture like those two things are huge interest of mine. And that's why I think that's one of the reasons. I'm so proud of the red membership for so long or whatever the years but I love things like there's a podcast called darkness. Diaries Jack is so good. I'm one of his patrons actually because I just love it that much. So so that's that's a huge interest and it keeps keeps branching off into other interests so I I heard about social social engineering from there went off on a tangent of like researching that and just being crazy interested and just go down rabbit holes. And it's just there's so many any strange interesting things that I didn't know about give remember Take TV Martin Sargent Internet Rabbit Hole. Show that no are Arabia's on on revision Asian three but but but he was like. Where's this go? Where does this go because like I love videos online about like the explaining the story behind? This explains yeah I I found this fascinating. I just subscribed to another channel about just that the Internet historian I think is the name of the Youtube Channel. Nice I mind that one as well and what I think you'll you would love. It's about scamming culture. It's pleasant green interesting. He he'd he tries to learn. WHO's behind the scam and he just had one about person? We had apply these scam. He had he had one series where he actually he got somebody to turn away from from screaming and actually got a book made so that he get sell the book and now pay the scammer discovered along the scale. It's like that crazy always trying to find it in a positive light if people WANNA be helped. That's really cool. Wow I just I just looked at the time I it's crazy. How fast recording does have that? You're like yeah so I want to thank you for joining me on Frau's I've wanted to do for so long afraid to ask because it's like I. He's like the big celebrity. Do you still slippery. No just the guy the dude just Thorne Thorne with a nice brow. How two of them though too? Yes talking about. Universal is a different different tune altogether. So if people want to talk with you about a hacker culture or maybe even collaboration on a new song where can they find you on the interwebs on twitter. Eh at Thorne Brow. So that's the that's the main place. Otherwise on on dischord there's a lag balls discord and you can find information about the show and the discord and all those sorts of things including all of social like malls dot com. And you can search us anywhere on Google and find us anywhere but I would not suggest an image search. Yeah I I did one of those recently not I should not have seen this. You know it's been interesting seeing that switch over from mm how dirty and horrible it used to be being more and more about us. O'Neill it's actually kind of bulls photos of people. That are are angry. I wanted to see balls. Just see an agency likable. Oh there's still stuff there that she shouldn't I would still call it and not safe for work search term. Wasn't it an east sports announcer. who was on the in the background of a porno video? These people were doing it in in the pre and the video was released and they and I was like he was an announcer. So he's now he's now favors important for me. That's amazing so I think probably Iron Ford before this show gets in the back of our point of view here immigrate banging clink of the fords calling you yes activated by order..

"Either to strange tangents silly stuff. Maybe the crazy bumpers. Or like some of the cyber recordings we make or whatever and then just general ridiculousness between destiny but then Friday nights with Justin Thorne was relegated to only the craziness between us part and strange conversations and do things like that and that was way fun. Don't get me wrong. It was really fun. Oh yeah there are some insanely awesome episodes of that. We went back and looked at how kind of effortless those those were not entirely. There's a lot of between and thank God we had Turkey Taco at the time so that we could get that amazing stream the stream. Labs thing that we set up for us is something we never should have had anything close. We have no business looking at night since streamlined. So we're very lucky to have him but the stream itself was. It was effortless list. Some some weeks we would literally just show up because the thing that drove that show was just the personalities just us being us being weird dirty glorious. The thing that we missed out was some weeks we would really really WANNA talk about video games. And then we'd have to hold back because we had the podcast and we didn't want to talk about one on the other and vice versa. Repeat things or confuse people and the on the marketing side. The business side. I guess I was really looking to ensure that we kept the brand is separate as possible. And that's why we're changing the name of a stream show to further differentiate it from the podcast because people are getting fused so once we noticed the difference in style. We kind of weighed the pros and cons. John's and and the pros and cons. I'll be very honest with you with all the pros and cons. Were such that one of the practical reasons for trying to switch to the live show is. It's less work mark if I have a live show and I have music playing over the recording and everything's being recorded and mixed into one audio track if I've got a cough or something like that. Then I've got a cough in there you you know. And I'm not editing. That out and that was a difficult decision for us that we stayed away from for a very long time because the quality of the audio was something that we took took great pride in and we we still do. That's why we you know at least have nicer equipment and things like that and try to create an environment. That's conducive to these things. But we were finding that with if you know both of us having to become adults and like a fulltime jobs and things like that just the sheer hours that go into maintaining this stuff would getting difficult difficult so we were hoping that the live show could be a transition that would that would give the fans who wanted to see us more and who tell us that actively that side of things things and that they would also get it with video games involved because the only way they were getting it was without video games the other way and then it actually be less work for us in a whole lot of different ways The editing part was one which was the part that we had the biggest problem with because the audio quality naturally suffers and then for two it was a matter of making sure that all the hardware stuff was ready to go. That's how we ended up doing it and The savings I guess for all of that was not just the editing part but also the We combine and the two shows as a result. And this way we could just be crazy random as much as we wanted and we could also cover the video games whenever we wanted and we're trying to keep as much of the same Format so that people would be familiar with it. You know even though it sounded different. Yeah and does. Lauren brings up a good point. And it's one reason why I like adding that that live aspect to it to a podcast brings brings in the randomness but you can also like pulling chat and like you can cause desert brought up a question that we then punch on this episode. Yeah which is just the sort of thing you can't can't quite get but then it's also get these awkward pauses and like that's the downside to trying to do better at that earlier on is we started with the worst equipment you could possibly. Yes we have. It was really very very bad. And we've progressed to at least semi professional equipment that we probably still need upgraded this point honestly but it recording grid equipment and things like that and yeah and I guess like because we started on that track we just kind of put ourselves in that whole if you will but the way that we were justifying it was that we're giving them crappy humor so we should give them quality sound at least and now we're not doing career transition period so I saw like while the hair's growing like that you're learning how can i. How can i Medicare everything and then give you the best of the best of both worlds? Well put I. It would fit. I mean I didn't want to say Hugh I it did. Okay he did. I'm a bad influence on crazzy many people so I wanna Wanna combine the podcasting live into kind of the the creative outlet. And what would you say is one of advice you would give to someone wanting to to either do podcasting or streaming or both definitely. Choose something. You absolutely adore something. You Freak out about something that you are relate crazy the right word is passionate but I feel like that word has been overused so much. That is one of those words. That's starting to become something that means so many different things to different people. What I mean is make sure that the topic is something that you can't stop thinking about like when you're at work? Earning money doing things that other people need done so that they can further their goals. What are the things that you are driven by? That's the stuff that you need to create about and it doesn't have to be direct. warcraft by gasping is a spectacular for example of that. Because it's not the game I loved. They bring it up because like I'm not a spencer down the I can't do all the rate stresses the starting zone. Yeah Yeah I don't like doing the news reporting that they do unconverted rate I mean I for me. I love the the the people I love. The I love the guests and the community. And that's why this show as a people friendly spun warcraft connected together. It's the Jello the puts it together but I love I like tonight. I'm on fire just talking just talking with you and I love that and I don't know if we would have met at work warcraft. It's another one of those things that just makes it all so crazy worthwhile and I started trying to at all I try. I started out trying to work off. News stuff like that. Just wasn't wasn't fun one. It wasn't it didn't get me going in the same way and that's why sometimes our shows are just completely different. Oh Yeah I'm is out of nowhere of the show is just a a completely different format. We weren't feeling it that day. You have to kind of go at that stuff okay. So here's another piece of advice by looking at start out on this stuff do it. When and you're driven to do it I heard a really great piece of advice? I wish I knew where from so I could give the source but it was something about like when the mood strikes. You go do that thing. Yeah yeah you know like if you find yourself clean up around the house and you're like oh I didn't mean to do this. Just do it. You got something in you. That's moving in that direction. Just go with it like you let it ride so I don't know what was in your coffee. The back you did the feels good. Man feels really good maybe play. That's what am I. Yeah I just want to stay. I will sing that in my head. Yeah I see. That's the closest I've ever come. Actually that counts is participating rating song. Right exactly yeah if not this never would have done that. And I can't and we got stuck in allied to yes. So how do you get past the voice in your head to podcasts in stream. What do you mean when I'm about to buy guests in my head? There's always tell me like I'm not good enough that I start comparing myself but I have to get past hassle voice. How do you get? How do you get past that voice? That's in there so that voice takes a lot of different tones love different days and I have discovered for myself that I have a variety of different ways to to get around it some days. It's really loud music. Some days I will actually jumping over watch because overwatch requires all all of my attention and I cannot do anything else because all of the sounds that I'm hearing matter everything I'm seeing especially matter is my memory of what I just saw him where that might be positioned by now matters matters. All of those things need to be accounted for and so it's the kind of thing where it takes me away from being stressed out because I'll get stressed out about some idiot on my team instead because it's always somebody else right. It's somebody else's fault it's like yeah exactly so that's one of the ways that I that I will will combat that sort of thing so I I really think it's less about specifics. And it's more about finding the things that work for you and some of those are things that you you probably already know about yourself but you haven't thought about it in that way and overwatch is actually a really good example of that because I didn't realize that about myself and actually this I've done that. A bunch of times like if we were both feeling low energy before recording a show we go play around of overwatch. Because you have to get amped up to play that and like it's a you get the juice and then boom you're off the races so if your thing is to have a warm cup of tea there are things in everybody's life that helped motivate them or distract them or calm them or whatever and if you you need to get amped up you need to find the things that help you get up and if you need to calm down find those things that help you find that center. So it's really about learning enough about yourself to help facilitate that. It's not senator before the show but that's one reason why I love doing the walks. Did it gets me to think. I like walking on the day of one of these shows because on the morning Mike Okay. I'm good just and and if I remember what about editing I tell myself don't forget it don't think it'd be like whatever will be will be but just go with that. We only think in the history of a recording. I think we only lost one or two shows total which I think is pretty good. Oh Yeah because episode two hundred now nine and That's not bad because you hear about that from time to time and you hate to see it. 'cause I like what a what does during saying that that a hard thing for people to battle is thinking. You shouldn't do something because there's so many other people that are better than you you Because yeah they're always someone that's as better than than you. I get that like like when I'm when I even want to do a game like oh why someone wanted to watch one one of mine. Because there's there's the Ninjas shrouds I mean th th there's automatic Jax like there's all those people doing it I'm like I did get out of my head like I'm just I don't care if they're out there. I'm just going to do it. And then you get into a pup chocolate I must have a poem has has one of my hobbies then nice point. You didn't even even know it. Exactly so what are some hobbies that people may not realize about you know I think almost tentacles. Oh Yeah I am pretty crazy about a history. podcast one that's still podcast related though but then interest i. It's the history. History is an interest. Yeah but not all like I am not going to pick up history books. I do have a few of my list. Don't get me wrong but I'm not going to seek out a book talk about history like some specific circle thing. There's just this this show called Dan Harmon's hardcore history. Yes yeah and it's just it's so good so so like if you're if you're interested in hearing from someone who is and see that's that's he's a prime example of exactly what I was talking about. You find the thing that you're just nuts about because he's not a historian and I don't know if even an author I think he's been in. Radio is his whole career. I forget the point is. He's crazy about history. He loves was it. He's a history nut who is another example. WHO's the dude was it like? CNBC the mad money guy. Jim Cramer. That's it yeah. That guy's crazy see. Yeah it's crazy about money and he's just like he's so crazy he gets an air horn to put on there. You know like this crazy stuff like that so like that's all I'm getting at is those are anyway the Muffin tangents again. I it's those Known trains and stuff like that with they get derailed and and the impact thanks Pat Grains not here to smash it because he liked history hint tie. Yeah all h things only things that start with age. I'm a I'm a film buff. So my watch later feed is full of whatever game currently playing and then just like a ton of like video essays on films and things like that because I just for whatever reason I'm just super interested in There's a a now defunct YouTube channel..

"Because I just don't I don't I think I had anything like that in the game because this is my first time three right on my original name on my way to eighty for the very first time that I saw this. So I was pretty awestruck there is me of the opening up the palace in Bay and I had that we're like like there's Jana there's north Mar- near like these are these these. WHOA no names in their hair? Yeah with Shell lands coming coming out. There's a lot of covenants that will be up to have a different people away. Have you look into the covenant. I haven't actually there's quite a few and I and I love to know which one do you see yourself joining in the shadow lands on your main curious in Lords Night Faye invent there. Yeah I could see you to being necker. Lords are all four available to both factions. It yet both action and you choose which one you want to go. The vampire people sweet and death. Okay yeah natural ones are pretty cool again. I know the vendor look pretty dope though. Yeah that's one of the things about me about gaming is I always end up being drawn to the bad ass looking character or class class or whatever like that but then my personality tends to be more like the Nice Guy Sticks. Don't go together at all. Yeah you're you're drawn to like the yeah but like yeah and definitely the nice guy percentage comes across in your podcasting. Because you're part of lagging balls. How did you get into podcasting? I got into podcasting at the same time. It's this because we've been friends for years beforehand and we you have been talking about it and talking about and talking about it and strangely in essence a little bit of jealousy nudged Assan to get going finally. Because we've been talking about it and then I started a show a stream show about heroes of the storm. Instead that I was not running so somebody else's it really only took signing on doing the first episode road and Then we were just like we gotta get this going. It's time right and and this was really the one to kick fully gear. I in and be like all right. We're doing it so the stream show talking about. I couldn't even tell you what it was called because that was the one and only episode so it never anywhere but it gave you that taste it gave you yes I yeah. I don't know if I've heard the origin story. How did this newbie become friends? We are so we were in the same guild the guild that I helped found blooded describe on boulder fist. US Oh it's the same guilt was the CO founder of that at the very end of two thousand eight I think shortly thereafter. We don't know exactly when but sometime probably early two thousand nine or so just joined. We just had a really close knit group. It was not a very big guild. Maybe thirty forty. Maybe Max and then a bunch of obviously but like a core a group. I'd say of like ten to twenty. Who just like we're on all the time always hung out totally got to know each other and then I think at one point I was like oh I want to know what these people look like started a facebook group? That was private for just us. I feel like that was kind of the bridge. Between the chatting you might have in game and even some of the personal sharing add to the bridge to like far more personal Sharing far closer relationships. Yeah because like from there it just kind of kept. It kept growing in terms of the closeness of the group shortly thereafter. Like we were just kind of all inseparable so we were just friends for a very long time. That's why we've been talking about it for so long. You have the podcasting bug you just want to keep going. Yeah Yeah I was on episode of all things has Roth and then I was on Litas behind Avatar and then another couple episodes of all things that was nice. I need more of this and I just cannot stop. I mean that's awesome. It's it's somebody when you started broadcasting warned you may not want to stop only the first one's free yes exactly you gotta learn and I have learned. MP3 You gotTa Learn Sixty Four Ninety six one twenty. I mean that's it's one of the obstacles and podcasting so what is what is obstacles. You've had to overcome and podcasting man laziness. I don't know if it's the way that we went about doing it or the equipment we had to start with or whatever or maybe just the trajectory of learning how to do it. But it's a lot of work. Yeah Yeah it's a lot of work and it's a lot of time way more. I mean it's just A. It's a some sort of multiple the amount of time that you actually get out of the show of the finished product product of. Let's say it's a sixty minute show you know. It's just some sort of multiple. It's like four six eight twelve hours to prep just that one hour. Oh absolutely absolutely and it's one of those. If I had known that it would've stopped me from from starting and I encourage people to start podcasting. There's just no there's a there's a time there's a reward to it and yeah the the people. I've gotten to meet the fact that tonight. I'm talking with you tonight. That to me is an amazing reward. I mean I it's nice to you say I don't think I've talked to you more than here and there an invoice yet. So what about these shows are being able. It's talk with you be like to have you here and all that and I like I always come away from show like this knowing the guest better and being that much closer to the guests. Yeah let me take that opportunity to thank you from me on the on. So what is one of the the best thing that's happened to you since you started podcasting. Oh my God that community just outright does no no hesitation as absolutely the best thing that's happened I made so many friends in Alibaba's two different sides to it I guess the community side of creators. And then there's the community side of everyone creators and all the fans and the kind of people all around them sometimes people just so for example like we started the dischord server four lagging balls specifically for the show but now we have so many people in there who have nothing to do with the show nothing to do with any of it. Yeah I mean so we've got we'll have people pop chat on things in a very specific channel like hardware or something like that. We have a hardware channel final for the computer nerds and once in a while. We'll see somebody pop up and then I'm like who is that and I don't. I don't even remember if it was that channel channel but the discord itself is just skyrocketed. The community oriented part. Yeah I it showed that the people out there listening to what you're saying yes US yeah. I've been impressed at what you've created there. I mean just tonight. I was looking in the in the courtroom channel and I saw people. They're talking about some very personal personal things but being so willing to share back and people and seeing people like okay. I'm I'm stuggling similar to what they're going through an offending like finding a commonality. I say it's always active in that in that community. We're pretty lucky. Because that's where I feel like the the magic is you know the fandom what you create something and it only goes as far as as you took the ways that people take it so much. Further other beyond that is amazing and humbling and beautiful. You know yeah I will never know what it is like to write a song that somebody says. Hey We played that song or wedding because because I cannot write a tune I've tried I've taken music classes. I am just okay at it. I have never going to write us up so so when I do something like podcast and then people come back and have found these layers of meaning that I never thought possible. You know that's that's the part that's just like incredibly fulfilling and was totally unexpected. And that's why the community part is just like hands down the most important because it's not even just the friendships that I've made in my own experience of the whole thing am in marketing. So I'm looking at the stats and I'm looking at the interaction that I'm looking at the behaviors and we're trying the judge what's working what's not those sorts of things not only among things that we do like to promote the show but also things like how the community is behaving because community management is actually an interest of mine. That's something thing that I hope to go into so you know that's the way that this has all come together has been you know so incredibly community driven that it was beautiful to watch it kind of form and grow. Oh and I think tell it right now has a challenge for somebody who listens liking balls. You need to dance to the ball at their wedding. Aw please please don't do that. It was first of all. That's like an hour long dance for one and then do man you would scandal is so many people in your family. Well just play the NANNA. Yeah wait what is it about how. I'd never even heard of that position and I wanNA bring up one follow up. I got news for you. Nanna knows the gone so dazzled who says that they many times that they will post in the online online and they go to lagging balls before they will go to twitter to post it. So Oh wow yeah. That's pretty. I didn't know that that's cool. And they were asking that don't continue in podcasting and get lots of episodes under it gets easier. Well you figure out how to cut some corners here and there. I guess it depends on which part I think the performance part of actually doing doing the podcast definitely got easier. We were super hyper aware of it when we started because this has a radio background have a marketing background around and a theater background while I guess we'll have theater backgrounds do so between the two of us the show part the the ethical side which you have all people definitely know what I mean. It was an important piece of all of us and that part I feel like have you ever been on a either a very long job interview interview or you've been around somebody that you're trying to impress for a very long period of time and you come out of it in your exhausted. Yes Oh yeah. It's because you're on right. You're on that's what they talk about in show Bizz like when you turn it on when you're on right like yeah on so there's an energy that goes into that and with your not flexing that Muslim working normally like. That's what I learned in theater in college. Actually it was about that whole thing is a muscle and you have to work it and you have to own it and that's how you make it strong and so when we were starting out. That part was harder for me. I just had to really kind of it myself up and and really literally do you pre show amp up ritual type things which is still kind of fun. Actually you know that something that changes later on. I wasn't doing much of that but the part that I'm talking about that's time consuming coming and I guess more of the commitment part. Is that the the editing yeah. So it's it's interesting that you talk about being on and stuff like that. What lead you to transition liking balls to be alive show versus being recorded show? One of the things was that we were long overdue for doing a live show and we. He went halfway by doing the Friday night with this thorn. Then we found that there are limitations by the way that we were doing it. So the show the podcast itself which has always been. They'll show to us as the audio podcast that was blizzard entertainment blizzard. Video game oriented All the way through. Obviously there's sections and we talk about each game and that's everything the non video game stuff in that show was specifically related..

"Some maybe they get expensive very fast exactly so I was like saving money for later. That is not quite as long as always. Oh He's not listening in knowing that I could. I could money over. Never make your face palm no. We won't go Jonathan. That talks. No keep doors bucks close. Yes yes there is one box on open though. I WANNA learn about you ellen gaming history that's called a segue ladies and Gentlemen Dang Good. Good one I'll take you thirty episode. See I'm independent. I I learned how to tackle it so so how have you get into gaming. It was kind of thing when I was a kid right so like in Elementary School Nintendo came out and that was the big stuff so like I was really young when in Indo came out I want to say you know what I'm not even GonNa Guess I was in very early elementary school. I WANNA say for the original Nintendo entertainment system and I got one but I got one I think a little later on I went from Nintendo to genesis two n sixty four and then I think I kind of just dropped off there for very long time so so before overwatch my lasts first person. Shooter was Golden Double is having on the end sixty four. Wow part of the reason why I am so bad for his first in one of the best ones to determine and stuff like that new missiles all of them. I missed the entirety of the HALO era. Like all of it. The good news is I have a ton of backlog to go back to and I've started on that I did bioshock the first one fully onstream. Nice these are games. I'm touching for like the first time I started the which three but I never I never went on with it unfortunately but maybe I still. We'll see I I cut I cut your and that was fun. I I realized that with some games. I'm going to have to go like figure them out a little bit first. Because I don't think it's not fun to just watch people like figure it out. Slowly I tell people people don't watch me to see me play games good so yeah but you're a better entertainer about it. I get I get drawn in and then I think I think the Stream is mostly just you. Good 'cause like I I play like yeah and that's why it's entertaining and for the for the audio only people out there. I was just making weird faces began. I'm sorry all good stuff. I will have Jeff Goebel narrating. He made a face right. He Nice as was like like no I. Jeff Goldblum if you're listening to you and you keep saying Jeff on this show and everyone thinks you're talking about like overwatch or something like that but now judge Kaplan Goldlum. I've mentioned it to that. That's the third shift now ended up of Jeff Goldblum and I mentioned Jeff. Lewis and Kaplan. It's a good day for Jeff on the show. Whatever they're all the same person? What have you done? This is not to be uttered in public would play now if anybody could but it's interesting that you bring Jeff Kaplan because how did he get into Blizzard Games Games. I got involved in Blizzard Games because I had a variety of different friends from all kinds of backgrounds and areas. who were playing it and that happened for for long enough? Because I didn't start playing until the very end of two thousand eight and the only reason I did was that I had kind of had a groundswell of people kind of influencing me from the edges of my life because I hadn't been gaming at all since the sims during college was like all I played when I wasn't just being called it. It did anything Lead you to stop playing games in that period. Oh yeah girls drinking. That would do it school. I'm sure as well but I I put myself through college so a lot of work to just there just wasn't time I think Oh you know what I'm forgetting here. So the thing that got me back into gaming as as an adult was the we. Okay yes and did you get a we elbow by playing too much to bowling. I did enough from bowling. I got it from the Zola twilight. Princess Oh okay good and such came. Oh my God yes so good one of the darkest Zelda's we've ever had and that was in and I loved the one to one sword fighting or at least back with one to one and then they show discouraged like oh we. We thought that was funny. Yeah yeah but it was cool you know. Just the the bull between that and Actually Played Was Godfather. Game called a black hand or something like that. I forget but it. It was totally just like a want around the city and like build your rep kind of thing and become a gangster so living the dream role playing that end Played that that was the first time I ever played stayed up all night in like saw the sun come up while playing a video game was the Sims. Yes Oh that was during college. And then I think the next time was Zelda truly princess and then the next one after that was the godfather land and that it wasn't again until warcraft. Aft so a lot of people around me played World War craft and I was just kind of starting to get back into gaming overall. Yeah I think the demo like the free trial trial basically at best buy was getting early Christmas presents and it was just at the counter point of sale the promotion. They've got me any market out there if you put a sale you can give people whoever activation put that at the best. Buy Right L.. Has You now podcasting and streaming games. I can tie one specific blizzard customer and the entirety of my spend spend with blizzard to whoever put that made the choice for the point of sale placement. You can attribute at least this much revenue nice and I. I don't want to count. It is because Oh my God. I don't think I want to know me. I wouldn't have had somebody do like all the different boosts I've done in a while and all the different cash up something the no no no no no I one time. There is a way to see in your battle net. And I'm like I'm just GonNa stay away from that screen. That screen over there. I wish I didn't even know that. Here's a minute black. A member it's stricken from remember. Who are you I am? Jeff Kaplan how. Hello Jeff. Wait who am I you are Jeff Goldblum it and you are starting Jesse Park. Oh hello life finds a way. It's my line. So what would you say is your play style honestly. This is another reason. I haven't streamed a lot of games I think my play style is cautious. I'm always like creeping corners and conserving. Mo and like farming everything and just overly cautious. It's so cautious that I noticed that about out myself. I'm like okay. Let's just move this along already. God then I played outlast and that one I was the exact same when I started and someone said you gotta go when you don't want to cry it's a game where you are in a asylum your reporter heading in there and there's all these screaming things going around and chasing acing you around every corner. God that game is that sounds nuts. Well no pun intended actually but that actually worked well there are nuts in that game. Let's Oh that's so so so so you're cautious so so in wow do you do like rating the up. I haven't read it this year but I do read normally. I'm pretty much I'm actually quite bad at PCP. Able I like I there's probably been and Throughout my career where I tried like all right. You know what that's it it's it's I'm tired of this. I'm never running from a fight again. It's it's on. Let's do this right and I probably did that five different times throughout my walker and just it doesn't last and I get discouraged because I'm so bad. I mean heroes. I'm typically the reason why the other team wins. Because I die too many times. I've got the top award for best now. I know it depends on the game right so like I'm pretty pretty good heroes and I'm like I'm okay overwatch. But I'm the worst of all the Games at in particular I'm better at the VP. And here's the storm that I we're craftsmanship played for so much longer an always on her. You'd think I would pick something by accident by now but no yeah. Easy Target Eh. You're the decoy. So other people can get around so you are the the target everybody. Ah W yeah yeah no for something about the place just doesn't click for me. You know because the Times that I have tried and be on there were half hearted drives like. It's not like I committed a month to this and it just didn't work out. I kinda give it a half hearted effort. I got really riled up for for a day or two and then just kind of forgot to keep going so working at these things does work for you guys right. Like don't hear me and then thank. You shouldn't go try definitely. Go try but denied night at. Just be afraid or just be used to the fact that you may be getting to know the spirit healer. We're really well and mine was named Nancy and they actually. We are in a band so it was. It was kind of Nice. The spiritual is trying to work on on their family at home. They're they're working on on like teaching the kids how to play a monopoly now so cool. What kind of music is like what kind of man it is? A punk rock won the forties the very old music because there's park in the forty S. It was never. It was never on the scene names pro exactly. It was very underground in their case up guy. I like the funds see. That was the plan what he's one of your favorite memories in gaming. Do you mean in game or like gaming gaming like mine is become wiscon- just seeing everybody in seeing the community and hugging people that I it making it real. So what about you so. When I saw this question I did think of it as as both like the game? And the out of game related to game the out out of game related to gaming was absolutely Wisconsin. Me The very first one doesn't sixteen is a transition time in my life. I was moving from the Chicago area to the New Jersey area. It was the last thing I got to do right before I had to go back home and then move right away so you know I had kind of looming nightmare right afterward but this dream that was on my way to finally after all this time right so I think just like the mix of all the anticipation and like you know. Just like how crazy I was was about it and like all the people we love. We're still all there and you know there was a chance to see them at the end. Game One was Wrath Gate event that I wish was still around. Yeah man that's one everyone engines. I did not experience it and it's it's like like I would have loved to see that. Yeah it's just a I think I think the thing about it was just that as immersive as the game of world of warcraft is is a Lotta Times you feel like you're you know you're driving the ship and and you're a you. Can you can be alone wolf if you want to. Excuse me especially in the modern game. mm-hmm where you know we've had all these kind of conveniences built in over the expansions like kind of cataclysm onward. I would say that weren't there before so like one of the cool things about the wrath gate was that there's the whole cinematic side and then there's the whole event side we are actually going down into an to reclaim the under city. And like you're just you're doing that the right alongside the the legends of world of warcraft. Like the legends of warcraft. Laura are all there. I don't know if maybe I just missed. Some of the the quest lines that might have been earlier in the game. or it's because I started because I didn't start till wrath and so since that was the active storyline. It might be that I just wasn't hitting that much of the storyline until the latter levels. But that was the first time in the game where I felt not only immersion but just like aw you know I think about that. Experience was just and I feel like there's there's a replication of some of that mechanic in a few different places now There are plenty of questions or engines or whatever where your side by side with somebody and they're kind of running through with your whatever ever but there was something about the mix of everybody that was in there and just kind of doing it side by side with all those leaders..

"This is the way they had seventeen examples but the teachers shared insults from their students that made their jaws drop okay so stuff that your kids you we can't you could be parenting your kids said to you or that your kids said she would school as a teacher the ways that they distil and maybe they don't even know what they were saying I think one time I told teacher to when I was like six years older seven years old to F. off. but I had no idea I don't know what my. it was a male teacher while he just started laughing and he goes do you know what that means and I'm like no I just heard somebody say he was like that you don't want to say that to you know growing up so whatever I'm like okay I can't recall ever being like disrespectful to it I didn't know I was being disrespect right of course I said it like I was I thought it was funny I thought I was being silly and he's like no you wouldn't want to say that my brother hit his teacher when we all get some anger issues well that's. that's sort of a the teachers that they were after well the teachers had something extremely offensive to him and of course he should have had him by now he was a psycho so for example one teacher reports I have two kittens I I asked a kindergarten or to join in line so we go to the library he said why don't you lick my chicken nuggets and pointed to his genitals. how many years that this weekend I love that look much didn't want to grab my face and told me I had the face of a man in the nose of a dog wow. husband was teaching is kindergarten class when a kid asked him how how he could breed having no idea what the kid as that he said yeah why do you ask that the kids said because you have so much to nose hair. have you breathe through your nose while what are some other examples I was working with the student when a fly kept buzzing around me the student looked at me and said it's one to because he knows your dirty I'm like. hi Matt how you doing. "Yeah. Bill cross Bill cross with. Two things Bill Cosby. Has their own Asli, Dave cook, like taken credit for all of hot Somme jokes, but also been Crosby taking credit for all Hudson maker songs because being Crosbie famously child beater. Oh, but Hotson Emeco once again cannot trust us enough, number one, not real. Yeah. Number two does not be children because she cannot because she is not real. She is vocal OI, d-, which is basically an auto tuned setting that somebody sings into and has made albums, and concerts. It's like a Microsoft Sam, the voice of the size. I feel like she has a show like probably she was she was advertising Domino's pizza for lion's huge. Absolutely huge in Japan. And you know what's insane? She will not perform Georgia anymore, but it's it is knee. Ed Hotson Emeco, actually, I honestly I said Disney said I hot suit. Amiga was the first one said, I will not be interacting with Georgia anymore. Disney was like, whoa pod, tuna makers said it. And she said Japanese, it was very nice of her. Yes, she said, I can't I can't Clip clip. I've got a. You know, I just realized that probably my phone does not have the capability of translating. The phrase I will no longer interact with Georgia into Japanese through Hotson Emeco, also. I don't know if it needs to be said this entire episode recorded entirely without internet, because my internet has been out for a record ten hours now. Yeah. You you're, you're really living the stone-age ham. And before I go on a huge rant about that. I'm sorry, John, but I have to shake your hand. Or it's time to part ways. What from this episode of the podcast? Oh, no. And from this episode of the podcast on that another thing I didn't did you have anything more from last week? The Georgia thing. No, I literally like that was the big thing. Okay. Good. I was concerned that we had eaten up all your time with the Hotson Mako facts. Is this like the first story popped up like Disney? That's pretty big. I'm going to save that and the mother headline Disney and then another headline Warner media, then CVS Showtime, the Netflix the net flicks, Jessica Chastain Sophie Turner than a him. See it kept piling on piling on piling on this is a cool snowball effect that I'm watching kind of in real time 'cause I keep saving headlines as they pop up. And that's not like if I were researching today trying to find something I probably. Wouldn't even be able to find this stuff. So I think that's probably a good takeaway for next week is start cataloging early. Yeah. I think we are better served observing the week, kind of as it happens. And then recapping it when we record because the site guys these days is so quick, that, if you try to, like, design a single moment, you're gonna miss something unfolding. And we don't want to do we don't wanna miss nothern. This is the time of, of servi-. Yeah. It's, it's the time of observance it's the time of ghosts does like the time goes, which part of site Geis's time in which part is goes guys guys, guys, definitely goes can cube game about being psychic ghost. Actually, I said all. Yeah. You'll stream Geist on twitch. It was kinda like not perfect dark. The other one GoldenEye now the Dirk won. What? Yeah. Perfect dark colors GoldenEye. I wasn't shooter. You basically had like psychic powers goes. So it was like second sight, Siopas Harris eve turtle darkness. Yes. It's like that was like attornal marksman eternal darkness was a fucking banger of trill. Darkness was great. You know decades ago, I hope a room. Oh, that that was going to be a second. And I was very sad to learn that never had a turtle darkness is still like, number one with a bullet, best use of people speaking language in the transitioning into English. Yeah, because they were they responding Latin, and then it slowly turned into, like English is versions of Latin words and then just industry English. I have never seen anything do that sense of it. So smart. There was okay. There's one thing. One other instance, it's an don't laugh at me. It's in hunt for Red October. Okay. They show. I believe it's I know for a fact that it it's John Connery. But at somebody else, and they're speaking Russian with subtitles, and they zoom in on, like a tertiary character background character. And as a zoom in on him. It trans like they the other to care for start talking English because it's like, hey you're now seeing through this third. Okay person, kind of view. I had no idea, a longtime state hunt for Red October dos. Boot man myself, the only off boat dos boot does boot, but the, the only agrees with that. Is that a John Connery made no fforts to disguise? The fact that he is one hundred percent. Scottish shows like wait in this reality. Is he speaking, Russian of a Scottish accent, is that? Is that what we're supposed to believe him? You know. That's what HBO's tra- noble. Really nails. Bring it full circle. No crazy Russian accents. Everyone just kind of speaks relatively normal accents, people, British whatever. Is that good? Bad accents? Hold on. I wanna know. Have you have all this time to watch all these things what you want to bury season two already? Oh I devoured air. You've seen share noble as seen a single up Assode of it. I read about it. The only Bill or lovely to be honest with you, the only thing of watched for the past month and a half has been buried. And, of course, as always grappler, Baki. Gravelled Balqis real good. And actually just called Baki on that. Yes. On that. And on that note, I feel like it's time for me to hand the rates over to you. I think I did it last week. I think I could do it. I think you're that's only fair on you edit. I do social media leaks on either. Deta debtate. Yeah. So, I think everyone no, no. Yeah. Yeah Jeff don't leave. It's time for the social media, blogs. People can learn about this is if you leave us a review Jeff Jeff jazz review five stars if you can help it four stars if you're feeling stingy, but honestly, if you're feeling stingy just give us a nother one just give us five give us the maximum number of stars allowed and you'll stay alive. Now, the most important thing is that word of mouth is the only way we can survive. That was like a try rhyme. Yeah. Actually Ryan, I've sound three ties which is a like a cadence. I can't keep up. So it's probably like a fail rhyme, like an a would've worked baited, AA, AA, which is the automative administrative, the alcoholics anonymous alcoholics now, the most important thing with this podcast. I know I said that apple is important. But you need to tell people about it. If you care about this podcast if you care about us, if you care about the fact that we meet every week to the detriment of our relationships our money, our time, our suits, my beautiful wool suit was soaked, in the rain today 'cause I was busy hurrying to get to this podcast. "We're on the air ten o'clock that morning from Buffalo Wild Wings at wolf chase and eleven o'clock, and it's an early start it is. And it's going to be at eleven o'clock. They're going to be a little bit earlier on their body clock because that's going to be ten AM in the east coast this USF team. They've lost the last five, but they started out force of some of the contenders in the league temple struggled a little bit. But they lost that one by two. They lost add Cincinnati against twenty first ranked Houston, but they come back back to back win four double digit scores. They get one guy averaging a double double. It's not going to be an easy trip down at Tampa. Our broadcast analyst Matt Dillon checks in quick before they wing their way from Tulsa back to Memphis. Matt you just heard Jeff's analysis for Saturday. And I know you agree. You've seen a lot of road basketball games. Have you seen a team like this one can do so well at home and then struggle like they do on the road? Yeah. It's weird. How? Yeah. Defensively on the road. They're giving up somebody points. And that's what makes the big difference. They scorn scored enough tonight to win. But. You take chances and you don't play sandy. China riddle that press specially melodic part of the first half and in the second half. I got that late. That's how they feel to thing against. But. Yeah. Seemed like a chance today and and communication just not there on the road yet. Come and learn a team and just have to batch it. And we'll do it tonight. I guess manages shows first off the the youth and inexperience with some of the guys. But that's where you really got a lien on your your your experience. Guys, you're veterans and then to wear a Keven Davenport, Mike Parkes junior really have to start pulling this team along I think. Yeah. Exactly, nothing Davenport had a double double. But I was not one of his better gains. Coach Hardaway say this is like, you know few games in a row. He hasn't played very well. And it's just one of those things you gotta get senior leadership, and forcing Jeff. Jazz are playing, but they're only the second year the senior. So they have been the program for two years, and it's tough to all these guys together special you get away from home, thanks for different for you. But you gotta have seniors Jeremiah's the only guy it's been here for years in this program. This plane is a senior. So it's a tough adjustment to do that. And especially on road. You get down into starts Artem a couple times again much like temple got behind and just couldn't come all the way back. But again, you is still got a lot of games to go in the conference rice Saturday's you'll be Ford gas you'd go down and get you win possible dot USF improve basketball team ever foreign players got freshman year. David Collins is back from last year. Gregory's a different kind of couch. You heard that they're going to present a little bit more of a problem? They did years fast as up sets at the half court. So that's something that's gonna be interesting Cantu. Tigers go down a USA. That's a challenge coming up. And. Ramp Brett time as well. So to going interesting match up..
