"Jason Whitlock Marcellus Wiley joined by Fox sports. NBA analyst Rick Time now for the most fearless discussion of the day. I let's move to the NBA and Lebron James in his seventeenth season. James is off to an incredible start. Thirteen Games in James's Lakers are tied with the Celtics for the League's best record and and James is the leading candidate for MVP. The news isn't so good for the League showcases Lebron's talents and be television ratings. Continue their downward spiral. Aw from a season ago over the past two years. NBA Ratings on TNT IN ESPN. Have dropped a whopping twenty seven percent when NFL ratings declined Kline three percent in the initial aftermath of Colin Kaepernick's national anthem stunt the mainstream media breathlessly reported on the demise of football but so so far the sports media have mostly ignored the NBA's historic fallen relevancy yesterday. Blogger Bobby Burak at the big lead wrote a piece titled So there are obvious and alarming reasons. NBA Ratings are off to such a bad start. Brag blamed load management which is star players strategically skipping games. Four assisting fans including the regular season is a waste of time. He also suggested that constant player Free Agent Movement has undermined passion for the NBA. Yea He made good points. I'M GONNA make a couple of more under commissioner Adam Silver's direction and Lebron James's influence the NBA has abandoned tradition traditional traditional American sports fans in an attempt to make the League more popular in China Silver. Jane's and their puppet Master Nike cast the NBA as Revolutionary Political Anti-american. They did this to curry favor with the communist government. In China Nike's goal was to pressure the trump administration nations to support the trans-pacific trade partnership which President Obama announced at the Nike headquarters in two thousand fifteen the NBA's goal was to land a record. TV contract from China the American sports media celebrated NBA's the NBA's communist pandering and far left politics from Steve Kerr Gregg Popovich to Lebron James the NBA wrapped itself in political resistance to the absolute delight of woke media. It's bad business to be politically divisive divisive especially for a sports -Ly Hardcore Sports Fans Love Sports because they provide an escape from the buffoonery and dishonesty politics. Despite what you're told on Twitter Lebron James Physician himself as a political thought. Leader is a Saturday night. Live script that writes itself last week former Miami Heat forward. Chris Bosh compared the blonde to driving their Ferrari Boston. Jane's can drive you right off the road. That's what's happened to the NBA Nike hop behind the wheel of the Ferrari and drove the NBA right off the row Magic Johnson and Larry Bird elevated the NBA and pass it on to Michael Jordan. Who carried the League even even higher? The bronze legacy is the opposite from player movement to players Revolutionaries Lebron has undermined the growth of the NBA. Here at home. It's a league with the brand built for popularity in Communist China or in any country that hates American ideals by guys Marcel. Let's get US rolling. Is it fair. Fair for me to blame Nike and Lebron for poor. MBA television ratings It's not fair. I think there's one more name missing from here and this is the one I'm going to put the bulls eye on unfortunately somebody I truly respect. And it's Adam silver this is what happened to the NBA to me in the last couple of years. You're talking about the two new year drop in ratings up to twenty seven percent for Adam silver he has the biggest market. You're talking about it or bottom line in China and Nike and their their dealings then has his biggest star Lebron James and he's sitting there holding these two huge entities even Lebron just the individual and then his sis- abilities and talking about Adam silver. We're actually curated on day. One on a job when he landed and what was on his lap race related issue racism with the Clippers and he felt the love love and adoration because of his swift decision and harsh penalty. Kick the owner out the league and every once and it woke up up media and it put the label on the NBA of being the woke league. What happens last year? December two thousand was in an eighteen. When Adam Silver's asked about being the woke NBA says? I didn't know we were given that designation but understand the sentiment and we're proud of that now. Let's go back to the origin of sports physically. We know what it is supposed to be just guys and gals going out there and playing in his meritocracy but the spirit of it is communal. Like how I don't actually your tax return. I don't ask you where you live. I don't ask you what's your what's your background is. Put your hand in the huddle and let's play for something greater than all us when you lose your way in that spirit and when you start to lean into things that people are trying to escape from when they're watching your product. Sooner than later they will become distracted de taxed and find other ways of entertainment. I think all of that in the recipe Adam silver. It landed on his lap. He ran with it. I think he ran a little too far. Yeah I'd say there's not any one thing that I would attribute the decline to look parody doesn't work in the NBA. The fact that you don't have a super team for everybody to gun for is is going to be a factor You look at the the stars that you do have that are drawing the most attention right. Now they're not engaging stars Leonard Johnson compo James Harden. The don't capture the imagination. I agree that on some level what has gone on politically Gli. That fans look for an escape from politics and the outside noise when they go to sports and the NBA has embraced being in that. That is having an effect but don't judge the health of the League on the TV ratings or on the attendance in the US. They protected the China market because the China market offers a audience that is bigger than what they have in the US there's there's a certain faction of the US NBA Fan that you're always going to have. I don't live there understood understood. I don't care about John Understood but the the NBA does because it is a global league now. More than twenty five percent of the players are international now one of the most engaging up and coming Luca Danni. He's he's to me he's one of the hopes of the future. But how does that resonate in the United States. So they're looking at the big picture and they always have. I learned. I learned earned this long ago being in the NBA offices and going in and talking to Adam silver when he wasn't the commissioner when he was just he was an underlying and they have a dozen or more revenue streams that they look at and win. They are attracting the fan. That will never buy a league pass. That will never step into an arena. Then they feel that they're being successful because that's a market that's way beyond what their appeal so as Americans should. I feel good about the fact that I have a professional sports Lee that is catering to a foreign country that that's their in game. I don't feel good about that because I feel like. That's part of the reason why they're politics have become so. I'm just sorry there are people to believe this. Listen I do as well. Their politics seem anti American. And it's to please China and to make them more popular in China. I don't like that and I don't think American sports fans like that. This is basketball. It was started here. This naismith this is supposed to be an American sport. This is upsetting to me and I think American sports fans understandable but the reach of the NBA The advantage that the NBA a has over the NFL over Major League baseball is that they are a global game and so they're trying to take advantage of what their greatest reaches the other part. Art Is in Adam silver admitted this last spring their audience in the United States they've the NBA owns more of the sports landscape than it ever has before we talk about the NBA and what goes on in the NBA. Its presence on. Social media is greater than any other sport but that is being driven by a fan base. The doesn't Actually Watch. The Games doesn't watch TV. This young fan base is used to fantasy basketball. They're used to orchestrating things. There are more interested in where teams where players are going than actually watching those players play in those particular places interesting one. I have to correct you my wife. WHO's Canadian will say they're going to come at you with that I really think it's decline look the NBA being progressive has looked into gambling as a league and looked into other resources to try to make sure that they suffer or whatever comes in terms of domestic issue with their product as we all know the gate. Attendance is not how you make money off with television. Revenue and Television as a revenue is not just domestic as they were trying to work with China and protect those interests because of the huge market. But there's something to say about the SYS abilities. Ability of the League has shifted and when you talk about Adam silver being the curator or director of that shift and also embracing asing of Lebron and his legacy. I think Lebron made a calculated choice. That look I'm GonNa get as close as I can to Michael Jordan on the court but I'm at into my legacy see something that Michael Jordan had as award to his legacy which is being a part of the political climate which is actually talking about issues which is mixing a legacy of Muhammad Ali. Not with a Michael Jordan to create Lebron which can be greater. Because I can't be perfect like Jordan on the court but I can bring in off the court greater Jordan did and make something different now. There's a little combustion of those two ideals and it's happening domestically and China said you have to stay on the shortest shortest leash and best behavior or else it will happen internationally. What does the NBA to do? If they're losing it at home and then China has a short leash. How will this? Yeah well. That's the difficulty Adam. Silver's got to walk that line between those two and I do not envy him trying to figure out how he does. I'm GONNA say the other point of this though. Is that that Lebron. As an ambassador for Nike has coming up woefully short short from Michael Jordan is not even close does Michael Jordan at fifty six years old or whatever he is still is a better brand endorser for Nike. He hasn't played in twenty years years. Virtually and he still will move more shoes than Lebron James. And that's because whether we like it or not or whether the woke media likes it or not ah Michael Jordan attached himself to traditional sports values. He was clean cut. He was non Ted. He played to the biggest audience in America and made him a huge international star that he's selling more shoes in America in China anywhere. This is where I think the NBA has gotten off. Course and Nike's gotten off course pandering to China you're better off pandering to our values and our fan base and let China fall in behind that then going this other direction. Irritating your own fan base and as Marcellus has pointed it out. Now you're dealing with a country that has you on the shortest leash in the world. You can't tweet what you actually think I just think the NBA's in a dangerous place. It infuriates me that no one in the media will talk about this if the NFL ratings dropped two percent it's an apocalypse coolest and every all the NFL's dying and I can't wait for it to die twenty-seven percent drop and we're nothing to see here nothing talk about guys the NBA's and Lebron James Muhammed Ali no Mohammed Ali Say It many many times attached to a black religious organization and he was controlled. Lebron James is attached to Nike and China. That's far different than the nation of Islam. Well let's be clear..

NBA Adam Silver China Lebron James Lebron League Nike Michael Jordan NFL United States Lebron James Muhammed Ali Jason Whitlock Marcellus Wiley Jane basketball Bobby Burak Colin Kaepernick Lakers ESPN Chris Bosh

"I oh won't pick like myself to pick some okay. Ron Rivera dams the hard toys. But let's be real about this if I had the roll the dice. Own Cam Newton. That's a higher ceiling but a lower floor. But I'm in Vegas right now. I gotTa roll the dice. I gotTa say Cam Newton healthy out. There will be more than a Ron Rivera. A WHO's kind of show. What kind of coach? which is a winning coach? But is he a super bowl winning coach whereas Cam Newton Euro to get him healthy. He's he's good. Take you to the Super Bowl and possibly get you over the hump still more upside for CAM new. That's my choice. I'm confused because last week we sat hearing go. How expendable it's been the Bull Cam? Newton stances avoid deception muggy. Yeah we taught him so altitude Rivera. I'm GonNa believe in Cam Newton but long long time ago about a week ago. Everybody was in their CAM atrocity. Bendable Win Win Without Him. They still windy. My will rethink that. Uh I'M GONNA run as well Light Ronnie's great man but I think they've plateaued. I'm thinking the last time they won. Their division was Zim. Fifteen five years. They're they're almost on not making making the playoffs. If I'm if I'm get rid of CAM might as well start over with a new coach and let him off. The I mean I can take a vote. Self gets rid. Get rid of all of them because if I bring in a new owner owner Rivera's not my my coach. So if I were placed a coach then I bring the coach. And he evaluates Cam and if he feels good about it keep them if you don't get rid of him and Alan is all new and ready to go with some some. I don't know if any of y'all have watched survivor of that torture. Five ever have I have. And that's why I'm voting Cam Newton off the island has Cam Newton. Once off the island. Sometimes people quit on survivor survivor. Life eating snake me and whatever else to say for me. He S- out Cam Newton Carolina. It's over isn't it. Yeah if I'm Cam Newton. I want a fresh start and I don't want to deal with. This bag is leftover and Carolina. And so I'm voting cam off because I want what's best for Cam. La chargers Chicago bears who knows but Oh Carolina. I'd look at their defense and say it's backing up. I look it now. Do like Christian McCaffrey. Somebody young receivers but to me. He's he's done all he can and Carolina. He needs a fresh start. Because you bring in a new coach eventually a new coach on his own quarterback to look at a lot of things things but she didn't follow the Money Cam. Newton is due only nineteen million dollars next year. So why get rid of him. That is discount out bargain COSCO rates for quarterback and who knows what to get out of Cam Newton. You reassured him this year. Don't come back with five or five star players make player O'Neal go. We've he'll up seeing aussies into toupee to pace how much how much is left this. This is really demand as with a little water like man. I gotTa make this work. You just keep shaking it and see what happens next year. Listen to water on it. "To have the courage to look at the world from alternative points of view and not be offended when you disagree speak for yourself. Isn't your twitter facebook. INSTAGRAM feet. Wide tells you what you need to hear and not what you want. So welcome aboard buckle the love we start in Mexico City just hide anybody remember the TV series was an HBO show about a fictional president. There's an Oswal State Correctional Facility. It was the first one hour dramatic series on premium cable network premiered in one thousand nine hundred ninety seven and mark. What would become Tom? The dramatic change in television two years later. Hbo Rolled out the Sopranos. Then came the wire dead wood. And the next thing you know. There's a game of thrones showtime then join the Party Creating Dexter Homeland and Ray Donovan. FX made the shield AMC launched mad men and breaking bad. No one remembers us. US was gritty and ugly and hard to watch. It was a lot like last night's Monday night football game chiefs and Charges Kansas City. One twenty four seventeen now. What is going to remember the game but it was also significant for what it represented? We're living in the age of Lamar Jackson dual threat quarterbacks. The pure a pocket quarterback is a dead man. Walking chargers quarterback Philip rivers walk the Green Mile last night. Kansas City strapped him in an electric chair and electrocuted executed. Him with four interceptions rivers is done. R I P twenty five years from now maybe. The Senior Committee of the Hall of Fame Will Vote Father Phil into to Canton. But more important and more telling than rivers is performance was the performance of chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. What was it a month ago? mahomes dislocated his knee. Me On a quarterback sneak and there he was last night. Run the ball for a career. High fifty nine yards and throwing for just one hundred eighty two was a light skinned Lamar Jackson s performance with receiver tyreek Hill eggs. Even the game with a hamstring injury mahomes targeted tight. End Travis Kelsey and running back marshawn McCoy on half half of his thirty two passing it tips. You know who else does too as tied into running backs Lamar Jackson. You know what other pocket quarterback is walking the Green Mile this season. Tom Brady yes. I root against the Patriots but I love him respect Brady. I'm not trying to disrespect the goat and I get that at eight thirty seven and forty two respectfully respectfully rivers and Brady are past their primes but the pocket passer era is over the football people who wants prefer Joe Montana over. John elway or Tom. Tom Brady over Aaron Rodgers or Peyton manning over Steve Young now on a quarterback with a little wiggle concerns about sustainability. have taken a back seat to the instant gratification. You can win right now with quarterback who can get out of the pocket the way elway Rogers and young could in their youth. Everybody wants a dash of Lamar and their offense offense. It's an extra dimension that troubles Bill Belichick and the Patriots. The goal for every team to unseat the Patriots. You have a better chance of doing the quarterback who routinely goes off script with his legs. No one looks down on the winning quarterback anymore. It's now preferred. It's like that bygone era when thickness. This was a red flag. Now's the green light in America. INSTAGRAM is powered by thickness doctors. Millions of dollars doing surgeries at give thickness to the meaning. Meaning Latte or else Liquor Philip rivers and all hell the thick. QB joining the desk now. Mock sports NFL analyst is Lavar Arrington with you on this man. I'm working on that. We'll start with myself because I know this is right right up his alley. He's been talking about this. All season is the pocket. Passer era over I let me double tap. That thickness didn't get home. Put this talk about the mindset and the desires of the mobile quarterback to two point zero quarterback yes over pocket. Passers the mindset in terms of resisting. Those mobile two point zero quarterbacks over but the problem is don't have the personnel necessary to do it big about this. This is a marketplace ace issue of supply and demand issue and because of all the years of resistance to quarterbacks who Kamanda mayes their attributes and actually run even when the play breaks down because of that. Climate that resistance to that quarterback. You don't have the necessary supply personnel to meet the demand it so what you're going to now look at is the collegiate ranks and those coaches at the youth level and high school level. Starting to say would open mind. I don't I'll have to put you into the cornerback. Running back receiver line. Do you have Armstrong. And if you do now you're going to get that full opportunity without resistance assistance to mature in that position. I've seen it on the youth level. Lamar Lavar once again. Lamar Lavar is a high school coach. He's seen it as well. They're coming but now they're gonNA come in droves but pocket passes will still survive this transition but days are numbered. I don't think it's the end of the air but I think your point is well taken. WHO's the next grade pocket passer? Well here's the thing you gotta you gotTa understand what pocket passing is versus scrambling. Passers Lamar. Jackson is a true running quarterback he can run the ball. As and that's not to take anything away from guys like a a Russell Wilson but those guys are scramblers their dual threat. Their threat is different than the running quarter Nano. That's why all right essay I still you say and again so to say pocket. There are some pocket. Passer that our mos- next you know I'm not I'm not S. Mel Kiper say look around the NFL but wrong but you know it's a bunch of guys that can run when necessary. But there are mobile. quarterbacks that our pocket passing quarterbacks even like you were we've had the conversation about two and different some guys that are coming out of the college ranks ranks. They're able to run their mobile when they need to be mobile but they are still rooted and being in the pocket and being able to deliver the ball. So yeah I think I think the dual threat quarterback has four different than just a pure running quarterback. I don't think the pocket passer is going to die by any stretch of the imagination in ETA who is who I mean there. Are there a bunch of is. You'd consider because because mahomes fifty nine yards. You consider a running quarterback he can in what he wants to certainly can't John Elway could run when he wants to. There's a lot of guys. It can run when they want to. Russell Wilson Ken. Russell Wilson Viscera issue from the pocket. That's that's what his number one priority is so it's not like the pocket passer is going to die what you have to understand about. Lamar Jackson is this is entirely different offense. This they're running an offense that is one of one. This is the only offense like it in the National Football League. So you have created an entire different offense. I think the conversation sation is do other. NFL teams decide that this is a viable option. Because if you ask John Harbaugh I've asked him. Is it sustainable. I don't know right right now. I don't know but the bottom line is this. He takes two or three shots. That we'd like him not to take the drawback quarterbacks and this guy again is one of the most dynamic athletes we have ever seen on the face of the planet. So I don't know how many is you're GONNA get to be able to operate that what they're doing compared to being able to throw from the aw a month ago. The whole Patrick mahomes dislocated his knee. We must sit him down until he's completely a thousand percent healthy and and here. We are three weeks later voice. That was the voice I heard on her. Now I'm looking at him on Monday. Night football the ball just three weeks later running the football six or seven times. You cannot convince me that that is not not as an organization. Andy Reid going. Damn you know what we need a little bit of a dash of this if we're going to beat the Patriots and compete with the Patriots. This thing about Ken. My quarterback be sustained is out. The window is how can I get instant gratification. And and get me a super bowl and a running quarterback can do it which it's an extra dimension I think guys are going. DIRECT WATT DIG deeper to instant gratification. I I think finally there. Listening to their frontline soldiers and the head coaches of the world if they ever walked into a defensive meeting especially defense aligned meeting we were sitting there scratching Chen our heads and dumbfounded when we heard guys want to stay in the pocket when we see a scouting report and the guy is not taking full advantage of of scrambling out the pocket when plays breakdown so you ask the question who's next in terms of just pure pocket passers. I have to look at the numbers even if the names. Don't blow in your mind in terms of quarterback rating right now in the top ten or three guys debt may fit the pure pocket. Passer Bill Kirk Cousins Matthew Stafford and Derek Eric Car okay now versus Oh seven guys who are certainly have the ability to run mobile two point. Oh and who would you rather that unless you just read it all cousins Stafford and who was the third Derek Carr dear car top ten. I'll take all three of those last and to the point I've been saying but it's just I don't understand to resist is I didn't understand the culture that said don't maximize your attributes because the protection as soon as you cross those white lines. I don't Care What Jersey number and what position you play. There's hell to pay and now. They're realising would not let go out there and maximize these guys not to put them in harm's way but just because they can get more mark. I heard you and cowher talking about this today or I know cowher was and and I think he brought you into the conversation offensive. Line play isn't what it used to be because we're not allowed to practice and so some of this is just out of necessity. Yeah you're not gonNa have the kind of protection the pocket. You better have a quarterback and more of it part of it was always you are protection in the pocket as a quarterback. We're back outside the pocket you know you guys are going to try to knock dudes heads off. I mean that's just the way it is so that was part of the allure of having the pocket quarterback quarterback but the problem is is to me. I'll and I'll tell you flat out. One of the hardest skills in the world you think about playing offensive line. It is one of the most skilled positions in football. and think about about this. We are the worst athletes on a football field. Would you use. Sometimes you talk about position by who is your case with. Yeah right but I mean think about it think about it. I've seen it. I've seen corners transition to safety safety linebacker Linebacker D. tackle or D. N. D. Tackle B. D. and ended detangle offensive line fan. That's there's no you can't go anywhere else right right. So you're the worst athletes on the football field so when I am every time I play I am outmanned by athletically. Yup So from a skill standpoint I have got to understand leverage of the understand understand where my hope comes from. GotTa understand my full work in my technique to stop you on a day-to-day basis. And now I don't get ever practice it again so from that standpoint..

"On the page work with James Philip that form to get started today when it doesn't make sense life happens to all of us doesn't matter if you're considered quote good or bad person life is going to happen to all of us. What do we do in tragedy strikes? What do we do when something just simply does not make sense? There is a proper time for grief which is very important to recognize when you can validate your own experience it helps you start to journey of what to do next one of the most difficult things though is when we do focus on that question or those thoughts of adjust does not make sense. Why did this person leave? Why did this person pass away? Why did I lose my job? Why do I have this terminal disease? None of it makes sense. It's really a huge question that we all grapple with at times when we look at the five stages of grief they are denial anger bartering or bargaining sadness and eventually acceptance. They don't go into linear order like that. As at times you repeat different stages until eventually you do get to acceptance when we have the thoughts that adjust as it makes sense that cycle often start over and over and over again one way to try and figure it out is us what's called radical acceptance and my field. That's a fancy term which basically says you accept the facts as they are doesn't mean you agree with it. Does it mean discounts what what you've lost or the tragedy you've experienced it. Simply looks at the facts as they are. These are the facts that are in my life right this second so after you've experienced what you feel isn't appropriate and healthy level of grief then it's time to use radical <hes> acceptance radical acceptance when it comes to grief is essentially saying this is my life today. These are the facts of what has transpired now. What do I do with it? No some of you here in this right now may think James that discounter minimizes rises the heartache. I've experienced but remember we're focusing on facts. We're not focusing on emotions. Were not focusing on the heartache. You've experienced we focus on what is in front of me today. And what am I going to do with it. One thing I always tell people who have experienced extreme loss or tragedy the deeper the grief the more it reflects how deep your love was for that person so as you're looking at this radical acceptance. My life is different doesn't mean my life is better doesn't mean my life is worse. Yes it is simply different. When we compare what was versus? What is they will never equal each other what was and our mind in our heart was always better and what is what will be will always be less than so? That's why we don't compare that you however however what we do is say these are the facts. In what do I do with it. The problem is that when we keep coming back to that question or those thoughts of adjust doesn't make sense that puts us in the mindset of what happened yesterday or how're pass was in the past and yes once again. There's an appropriate time of grief and loss and reflection but if you want to move forward in your life and once again forward doesn't mean better or worse just simply means different than it is important to say these are the facts and what are my options each each moment when you can focus on what you can do today as opposed to it not making sense from yesterday it allows you to start to look at your future. The more often you proactively look at your future the less the thoughts of it not making sense come to mind the tragedy and loss. We've all experienced changes US however when you use radical acceptance and not focus on the questions of thoughts of it not making sense the more you'll see that they're more chapters in your life <music>. I wanted to take just a quick moment to thank you all who continually support and listen to James Miller life algae. I haven't been so blessed honored by your continual supports however I want to make sure that you don't miss out.

"I'd be looking at other players to think about I wanna make sure people know that they're out there all the other Texans, laugh KiKi q, t, and no Larry FitzGerald. Still on the board. So I also overlook the fact that we only have three wide receiver so. Right. I, I am selecting a wide receiver. I want Marvin Jones. That's perfectly fine with me. I think that Marvin Jones is he's being overlooked because the fantasy burns that he gave people in the breakout of Kenny golladay. So I think the eighth round is too low for him. Yeah. I I'm one hundred percent fine with Marvin Jones. Let's pick him here. I will say this is one of those situations where it's just worked out. I could see myself year. I usually don't even look at quarterback till the tenth round, but and that's really that's not true. I look at it every round this is where an early eighth round pick. I actually consider it because like you said Carson love to say Carson or Cam Newton or even Cuyler. Guys could make it back and getting none of them did. They're all gone cartoon Tyler Murray and Cam Newton all gone between the eighth and ninth this team. Eight this is out of my face. This is where it gets tough for me on the late round quarterback decision making. Because when I when I look at a roster, I really wanted them, but there are other quality quarterbacks on the board. Ville. Chur goffin. Still there. Acura went tenth. Pick of the eighth round. Golden Tate went d- came back calf off the board at nine oh two with all that Metcalf. Buzz, Royce Freeman somebody, I would've loved to see drop to us at the end of the ninth round here. We gotta make the rest of these picks little quicker. So like Jason said Jared Goff is there Jason, you can have the pick you can just just talk through it for a second. And then make sure thing. I look the there is a tear break here to me at quarterback. I, I liked. I liked James Philip rivers Brady. Dak they're all good. I'm fine if there's a guy on the board right now at wide receiver running back that I was like, man. If I was Corey Davis, truth or right cord is on the board..

If you can just so he added shall your descendants? Be Abram put his faith in the Lord who credited to him as an act of righteousness. He then said to him. I am the Lord who brought you from you're of the caldeans to give you this land as a possession. Oh, Lord, God, he asked how am I to know that I shall possess? It he answered him. Bring me a three-year-old Heffer three-year-old. She goat a three year old ram a turtle dove and a young pigeon. Abram brought him all these split them into and placed each half opposite the other but the birds did not cut up birds of prey swooped down on the carcasses, but Abram stayed with them. As the sun was about to set a trance fell upon Abram and a deep terrifying. Luke, Jesus took James Philip and John and went up the mountains to pray while he was praying his face changed in appearance and his clothing became dazzling white and behold, two men were conversing with Moses and Elijah who appeared in glory and spoke of his exodus. He was going to accomplish in Jerusalem. Peter and his companions had been overcome by sleep but becoming fully awake. They saw his glory. And the two men standing with him as they were about to part from him. Peter said to Jesus master. It is good that we are here. Let us make three tents one for you one for Moses one for Elijah. But he did not know what he was saying while he was still speaking a cloud Kane and cast a shadow over them, and they became frightened when they entered the cloud, then from the cloud, Kim, invoice that said this is my chosen son listen to him after the voice had spoken. Jesus. Found was found alone. They fell silent. And did not at that time. Tell anyone what they had seen. Sisters and brothers the gospel of the Lord. My sisters and brothers in the face. In the study halls of biblical scholarship. Some experts referred to Luke's gospel as the gospel of prayer, Luke frequently sites. Numerous instances when Jesus or others are at prayer early in his narrative, Luke describes both Mary and Zachariah offering their prayerful canticles of praise and thanksgiving to God. Responds to Gabriel's revelations to them Mary chance her magnificant and Zachariah his prayerful benedictus. This morning's gospel opens with Jesus leading his most intimate disciples, Peter James and John to a lofty mountain to join him in prayer. It is important to note that in the ancient biblical world. There was no more sacred place outside the temple in Jerusalem to perfect pair fleet encounter. God the mountain where the crest reached into the heavens above it was those very heights where Moses and Elijah meet momentarily in today's unfolding story. Prayerfully experienced God's numerous presence centuries before the birth of Jesus once Jesus and his disciples reach their destination. I know together in prayer Luke tells us that Jesus undergoes a total. Transformation his face changes. His garments. Become dazzling white. His entire presence is transposed. He becomes transparent and translucent with light. In fact, is so touched by Christ total transfiguration that he invites you and me all of us to behold made me to look and see for ourselves. What is taking place throughout his gospel. Luke frequently uses the word behold as take Neak when he wishes to draw special attention to a point he wants us to pay particular attention to because it contains a powerful revelation profound importance for our lives in this instance, the transfiguration of Jesus discloses who he is what his true identity is. And what is about to happen to him when he goes to Jerusalem in his death and resurrection reinforcing Christ transformed appearance is the presence of the two legendary. The Old Testament figures representing the Pitney of Jewish life. Moses, the law giver and Elijah the prophet like Jesus they to radiate God's glory the shaky knock the way in the story as Moses and Elijah are on the verge of disappearing from the scene, Peter and his fellow companions awaken from their deep sleep, then in his customary fashion. Peter blurts out to Jesus master. It is good that we are here quickly, adding a total non sequitur about erecting three tenths for Jesus Moses and Elijah he wishes to replicate the way in which Jewish families gathered annually in Jerusalem for eight days pitching, their tents to celebrate the joyous autumn feast of tabernacles whereby they commemorated their Jewish ancestors exodus from slavery in Egypt across the desert into the promised land of their newfound freedom in the midst of Peter's prosperous suggestion. In a cloud similar to the cloud that none of the Jewish people for forty years across the barren desert into land flowing with milk and Honey cast a great shadow over the prayerful disciples and elegant then in darkness and causing deep fear in their hearts, suddenly from the cloud voice, akin to the voice, which Jesus himself heard while a prayer after his baptism by John. The Baptist announces a similar message to Peter and his companions. This is my chosen son. Listen to him. It is important to point out that the message approximates, the message of the voice from heaven heard after the baptism of Jesus. You are my beloved son with you. I am well pleased. However, it is equally important to notice that Jesus is at prayer after his baptism when the spirit descends upon him voice reveals his identity as usual in loose gospel, momentous events and revenue. Nations take place in the sacred context. And the moment of prayer, sisters and brothers. It is lend a time of prayer holy season. When God invites you and me all of us to ascend our own mountain and enter the cave of our own hearts. God is summoning us to become more intimate companions of Jesus to enter our interior cloud of creir to be witnesses ourselves of his transfiguration in us and to hear the voice of God reveal God's profound message. This is my beloved son listen to him. We stand and pray the apostles creed. I believe in God, the father almighty creator of heaven. Jesus Christ his only son. Our Lord was NC by the Holy Spirit. You know, there is some family. Interesting language attached to. Here's the problem, man. Like, I'm a college basketball reported atas ESPN Duke is very very good. It's not Drake Kuwait. Even if you are a North Carolina fan, you've got to be looking at this team and go man, this is this is crazy to watch Zayed Williamson jumped twenty five feet to go block aside yesterday. Lebron James Philip come off you've got to be oppressed by that. So lesson it drinking a coup means I'm covering a great team. Give me some more that Kool-Aid playboy, I'll take it. You tweeted, I love basketball and sat founding fathers tweeted back at you and said, I'm sure you have that vortex NC state game on repeat Myron. Oh, yeah. That's what did love that. Love that game. That game set basketball back fifty years North Carolina State had fourteen points in the first half, man. Twenty four for the entire game. What do you do? And then the next game to get blown out by North Carolina. So that was certainly a game where you go. It was hard to hard to love that. But I said that after Rondo which Rondo hits the big shot over Boston the game winner likely who can write a script like that Rondo comes back to Boston. I mean, they're down eighteen at one point the game's over you got kyri, flatters Irving hitting big shots and here come the Lakers, man. I mean, come on, you gotta love basketball. You see something like that? I don't wanna hear you that garbage. Thank you. Else drops will make this segment sing even more. The weather politics sports that is lavar ball at the barber shop the do. Would you ask them in your lacking? Were you were you pretty good back in your day? I was better than Michael Jordan. You know? Why don't you? That's exactly who lavar ball is. Except the dude in the barbershop doesn't have a TV cameras in frontal. That's the only difference media, fifteen minutes of fame anymore. This is this is Forty-five. Matt reporters are inside the barbershop taking notes and tweeting everything out. That's exactly does add to that.
