"For the entire season. Andrew luck, I add just minor injury. No big deal out entire season Next time again. I am not a big deal retires. Are you starting to get bad flashbacks there. Ryan Traci Key. No, I'm not. You should be. Okay. Your problem is you and Frank Reich both try to be too optimistic. You have to be realistic. Right now, if I'm a Colts fan I'm sucking my thumb and I am screaming for some cookies and a warm glass of milk. I'm very afraid right now from the Colts fan, I'm petrified. Especially the start of that schedule would be one thing for the Jaguars twice you played. I don't know the two other easier opponents on your schedule. Maybe the Texans like you got the Jaguars and the Texans. Or, you know, at least two games to start the season. Your schedule the first four games. What was it? It was the Seahawks, the Rams, the Dolphins and the tennis Bad Titans. Man that is a big police and then the Ravens Week five. Yeah, yeah. Bad time to be a Colts fan. Frank Frank explains why Carson once getting the surgery is the best course of action. Instead of waiting for this, the naturally heal thought surgery was the best right from the start after that initial discussion with both doctors It was just because if we don't if we rehab, it's going to be fine in a couple weeks, but it's going to if it creeps up back in the middle of the season. Then you're out for 5 to 12 weeks. That's not going to work. Let's use the front end and hope for the best. Whenever they float surgery as a possibility. It most likely means that if you don't get it now, Yeah, you could wait. But you're going to need surgery down the road. Especially. This is an injury that goes back all the way to high school. It seems like the surgery should have happened years and years ago. Frank Reich has faith that Jacoby's and will be able to step up. The.

"I i wanna see that that would be a spicy traded. Just you have to wonder if the jacksonville jaguars would be so self-confident to do what bill belichick did. Joe trading drew bledsoe in the division to the bills. Way back when i mean would the jaguars consider that a tradable spot mark comparing minhsiu to Who you know the guy who had the biggest contract in nfl history. At at that time. I mean the cult's would still go one in four with minzhu. But think of all the cool mustaches in the crowd at lucas oil stadium. So probably go for one to be honest. He can't hear. Jags aren't getting much buzzed by the way the athletic doesn't have a jaguars writer right now. I need that rely on you. There's a couple of black holes but jacksonville stuff to find any information out of there. All right anybody else have anything. I think we hit it. I'm good how about how about i feel bad for the cowboys. No don't feel bad for the cowboys. What kind of like bringing up all the bad stuff back and you know not throwing that is significant and lawrence is coming back surgery and cooper's been out seven months those are those are all significant so is the fact that tyron smith and late vandermeesch who have not been healthy in years have showed up looking about as good as they have in years are two of the truly elite athletic players at their respective positions. If those two guys were actually at their best this year like that. That changes the cowboys. There's a little positive news for the cowboys. Eight nine or nine and eight mark eight nine. I'm not getting sucked in this year. Greg it's happened to me too many times in the past. So we're what we're role in washington. I don't know that is a that is an absolutely absurd division of football. In fact coming up soon we're going to do our division power rankings I call him the overly satiric division power rankings. That's coming up soon The e. d. p. r. auditor. See if like who's the guy that was on our show Aaron schatz right. If he can just come up with. Power reagan's coming right back in the middle of august in june. But i didn't. I thought of it nagas so i like it. That's coming up soon. We'll figure out what's the best division. What's the worst division. I don't know what to think about. I mean who is the the. Who's the recognized. Division favorite is it. Is it the cowboys. I think so but i don't know if the topic i think what i noticed was the cowboys in washington. Were way ahead of the other two and to me you could shake all four of those and i feel like they all have a chance. Even even we'll find out during five long hours of hard knocks. Jerry jones waxing poetic nonstop from wire-to-wire. I'm the only one that has to watch it mark. You do not have to watch it really. I've enjoyed them not a sin against hard knocks. But i mean you know if you're going cowboys your your like the cynic against hard knocks. If if anyone in the country cynic it is literally said mark during five long hours of hold on. I think should have being cynical about it. The it is an opportunity to do something special. T-that teach us things. We don't know so if you're going cowboys it's just like you tell me that. I have a little bit of a reason to be on edge about that as the chosen team. Mark do you know how much like battery power i could say usage. I could save on my cellphone if i just deleted the hundreds of tweets texts. You sent over the years about how much you don't like hard knoxville. It's apathy like that. There are still major questions on the defensive. Line side the pass rushers. If the jaguars again find themselves trailing by double digits in the second half of games of they'll have to rely on lawrence. You know a heavily have to rely on his arm at the rely on offense catching up making it happen with what they have. So if he's going to have to play catch up shoot he might be putting up. Those numbers are end in tennessee. Titans man attend to see titan the tennessee tennessee tennessee. Titans what are looked realistic expectations for the passing game. After losing corey davis and john smith at today. I guess we're trying to say that you know was them leaving a bigger deal or was julio coming bigger deal. The outlook for the times passing game was a certain before they acquired him in the first place but losing davis and smith took a total of one hundred six sections for over fourteen thousand yards and thirteen touchdowns away from their offense on the surface. Those numbers seen lake just all obstacle to overcome but adding a big obstacle to overcome. But adam jones made it seem smaller now They still kept their amazing receiver. Urban Meyer Envisions Utilizing Tim Tebow in Taysom Hill-Like Role
"Got tim t we got. We got number one. Pick in the draft playing quarterback. We got a team. That was one in fifteen a year ago. And now we're bringing it in ten tibo to run a taste him hill style package. Chris canty what do you think of that. I don't like it g. I gotta be honest with you. I mean we've seen him he'll be able to do a lot of things in the nfl. You can throw it can catch. We hadn't seen him to be able to do that at a high level at least not enough to warrant him being able to make a return after a six year absence from the sport so i just think it's a long shot in terms of being a contributor on the field with the jacksonville jaguars and if he's not going to be somebody that's a productive player. I don't think it's worth the distraction again. This is another one of those moves. This offseason got a lot of those guys in that. Jacksonville jaguars locker room looking at herbert. Meyer sideways i going out there and trying to sign. I will strength coach. Chris doyle to be your head or strength conditioning. After what happened with his tenure there and now with bringing it over i just. It's a move that reeks of privilege. And it's a move that could undermine the credibility of your head coach moving
Is Urban Meyer Taking a Gamble With Tebow?
"The biggest story in the nfl right now. is tim. Tebow and the jacksonville. Jaguars on friday afternoon. The jaguars sign boat to a one year. Nine hundred fifty thousand dollar minimum deal as a tight end. His jersey makes up the top five selling items on the nfl shop dot com store. Now figure that out and to me urban meyer's really running the risk of losing his locker room here because if you talk to people inside the league if you talk to executives and other coaches there's a lot of genuine skepticism over urban meyer becoming. Nfl head coach generally. And there's a sense that it's four more likely that he flames out and never wins a playoff game than it is that he winds up winning a super bowl when this experiment bringing in tim tebow not necessarily even as a quarterback you have trevor lawrence. They're bringing tim tebow into that locker room in two thousand and twenty one and having him sing for his supper is a tight end. There's a belief that meyer runs the chance inside the league of losing his locker room before this season even begins

Thanks for having me Yeah i mean we had people on the field for the first time today signed this morning and out there wearing number eighty five and working out at tight end. Initial Betting After the NFL Schedule Release
"News the west gate here in las vegas just came out yesterday with lions every single game all eighteen weeks. You wanna bet on any nfl regular season game. Boom you can thousand dollars. There's a side anatole up at west gate so kudos to them. You know one thing that stood out jacksonville. We always talk about excessive travel. Not good for team. Jacksonville's the only team on the east coast. That is top. Five and travel miles of big part of that is due to go to london. And i also noticed. End of the year gave december january. Jacksonville has three games at sites that could have cold weather in december january. I looked at all. The southern california teams the florida teams in houston. None of them have more than one. So i'm pretty sure. I'm going to be actively looking at against the jaguars fire and ice come late in the year on the road gifts so the questionnaire for me is is that enough to go under on on the window. You know. Trevor lawrence is the big question mark. And i wanna see how he plays so i think i'm going to wait and evaluate not fire six and a half season a win number of pass on that.
Green Bay Packers Reach One-Year Deal With Veteran QB Blake Bortles
"Reportedly set to sign veteran quarterback Blake Bortles. He had spent his first five seasons with the Jaguars spent parts of last season with the Broncos and the Rams. This coming as the uncertainty around Aaron Rodgers remains with the Packers. Well, that seems to make it a little more real right. Yeah, For sure. I mean, I think you know, going into it. Oh, camps and O. T s and things like that. It's going with one quarterback. So, um, it's starting to feel real that the possibility of Aaron Rodgers not playing for the Packers next year. Which is pretty
Why Would Jaguars Sign Tim Tebow?
"We are back final hour. It's been a fun show. We appreciate you being here. A lot of conversation with my Mike smith earlier. We also talked to dennis dodd. Another conversation predictably has been tim. Tebow we've given you a lot of reaction on that in the mike cannon bom from espn former gm jets dolphins. He's been here a couple of times. He had this to say earlier today. On keyshawn jay will and zubin about understanding the signing. I don't like it. I just don't see the upside in this move. He's thirty four years old. He would be a backup. I just don't know of thirty four year old players that can come in and be back place special teams and you're taking away a roster spot from hopefully a young developmental player that could grow with a young nucleus obviously led by trevor lawrence. And to me this is probably through the lens of urban. Meyer saying a decade. And a half ago tim tiba was the most competitive guy i've ever been around and he can help set the culture. If i was in that building what i would be pushing back saying coach. That may be true but in the nfl as you well know. Players needs to be led by players. They believed can take them to where they wanna go and as a backup tight end. I just don't think tim tebow would have that same credibility as he wants dave when he was the starting quarterback in florida. He also questioned whether tibo could even makes a team. I just don't see how he makes the team or urban and he's a really good coach he he's been historically great college but i just don't know he has to earn a spot and he's given a spot. That's gonna cause a big problem because players weren't have a chance to win and again to me just putting on my lens of a general manager and roster construction if you're not a starter in the nfl with only forty six players dressing you have to play special teams so my question. is tim. tibor thirty four years old going to cover cover kicks that remains to be seen. Now if he doesn't earn it does a totally different discussion. But i don't think you could sign him and say hey. He definitely has a spot on this team.
Jacksonville Jaguars Expected to Sign Tim Tebow as TE
"This is austin lane. He's a former. Nfl tight end the host of action. Sports jacks on. Espn radio he was joining. He was joining freddie and fitzsimmons about whether tibo is going to be jacksonville simply for his leadership. The whole narrative that tim tibo coming to jacksonville. Be an urban meyer guy and helping that locker room presence. i think it's baloney. I'm not buying into that narrative because what what guys look for in terms of leadership and guys buy into his guys that have had except you know leaders guys that you can say this guy the baller. I gotta follow him and watch. How does now. I've talked to many times. Tim is a fantastic guy. But i think the whole narrative of you're going to bring him in because he's a great locker room guys all right. Great there's there's tons of great locker got. There's tons of great teammates just like any locker. Rooms made up of all types of people. So i'm not buying that austin lane also talked about. What exactly will tibo be doing assuming. He makes the team the whole narrative. That tim tebow coming to jackson i understand that he knows urban meyer. They have a great relationship. I guess you know. Urban meyer bought a house. experts week. Sent tibo so even if he makes the team. That's going to be great e hollywood. Tv show Urban meyer tim hero next door. It's gonna be fantastic. It's gonna do all the rating. But i do think this. This is urban meyer first year and then i saw and you know he's bringing his guys in. I understand all that. But what earn myers gotta realize. Real quick is that. You can't take anything if tim people is going to make. This team is because tim tebow has earned a spot. There are no you know there is no. I like this guy lot. Let's give him a spot. That doesn't work like that players not locking them. We'll see through that day one so two hundred two things are going to happen either. Tim tebow is not the tight end which we don't think he is and i'll be honest. I'm kind of in that boat or tim. Tebow is a tight end. And he earns his spot and he gets that roster spot and that's it was not good enough during the roster spot. He's not gonna get it. Because of urban meyer gives him that spot. He's gonna lose that locker room in a heartbeat.
Jacksonville Jaguars Expected to Sign Tim Tebow as Tight End
"And football. The big story coming out in the last hour, the Jacksonville Jaguars reportedly planning to sign Tim Tebow as a tight and reuniting him with his college head coach, Urban Meyer that was first reported by NFL network's in Rapid port. And Tom Palace era, The deal could become official in the next week. Tebow last played in an NFL game in 2000 and 12
Urban Meyer Really Believes Tim Tebow Can Help Jacksonville
"Believes Tim Tebow could make the team Give me one thought on Tim Tebow. Why? I mean, I The only reason that this is happening is because every Mars the head coach of the Jacks with Jaguars in urban Meyer was not to the National Football League. Tim Tebow would not be entertaining anything like this, so if he wants have a chance to play a new position. Play for a man that if he could adopt him, Tebow, he would when it comes to urban Meyer, but that's my one thought. Why Tim Tebow? Why?

"That the jaguars only average twenty two point one points per game and they've turned it over twelve do the differential and turnover takeaway. The steelers are a plus nine. The jaguars are minus three. So there you have like the difference. You look at points scored from both both sides. That's the difference. That is the difference. The pittsburgh steelers offense the jacksonville. Jaguars defense is the major major difference maker here and it should be. It should be what decides the outcome of this game. This is the game again or the steelers have plenty to prove in what they can prove to each and every fan around the globe is simple. Take the show on the road and give us a dominant performance outside of heinz field. Something you haven't done in recent memory in especially in jacksonville. We all remember what happened. There in two thousand eighteen steelers were favored with a hard-fought game. Ben roethlisberger that was the game. I completely forgotten about this play. Until dave brought it up in his podcast. Were ryan switzer in the back of the endzone gets mauled. It looked like it was an interception to end the game in the red zone however they get an untimely. There wasn't on time down there. I think there are six or seven seconds. Left the steelers elected go for it. Instead of kicking the field goal the senate overtime is a busted play. Ross keeps it barely. Get the ball. "Observer. podcast Phillips December first two thousand nineteen. We got a Christmas present in early win against the Jags beatdown against convincing win. Yeah you thought they might have a chance starting in the third quarter and they tain Gardner Men's shoe and he does have kind of an energy about him but it wasn't enough to scores eleven points. We held them to well three okay. Does it count. If he gets into point conversion as a score I guess but you don't you don't count extra point though in in any case eleven points eleven points all garnered in the when. When do they get their first field? Goal third quarter. Yeah we were up twenty five zip with is one of three left in the second chord. Twenty five that's a long biggest we had all year. Thank yeah and they did hold us to three points in the second half well the old box would have given up leave right. The offense really needed score any more points. The defense just needed to hold them and keep them from scoring points. This is is the new bucks we win Games. We should win beat up on bad teams the Jacksonville. Jaguars came into this game with the same record we did. But I heard there on a four game family streak makes it five now. I think this includes tonight fun. Game to watch all kinds of good stuff and beat Vale. End Up in the fall back. Position Block for Peyton. Barber for a touchdown have lot of interceptions. Fumbles sacks turnovers Devon. Wyatt had a touch had a he had a good game. was that a picnics picnics. What was the touchdowns that on fumble picked it up and then also had a fumble recovery? It wasn't a touchdown. But he's got what three fumble recoveries on the season. Two of them are for touchdowns at least that's what I recall. Yeah three fumble recoveries touchdowns gave me mad about that now. He's all is a really good football day book near Fans who congratulations. You showed up to Jacksonville. It was nice to see more Tampa. The fans in the stands and Jacksonville fans at least look like more. The rate stood out more. We turn out not only. Did we win today. Carolina last redskins. Yeah that puts us at second in the Division Division. Say we're fighting New Orleans for the division title. What to do they're yeah? I don't think I'm I'm pretty sure we have to have Minnesota lose out and we gotta win out if that happens. We're into blow but that depends on Minnesota losing that. I'm pretty sure they have to lose out once they if they win a game and we're a think do they play against tonight Seattle. Clark yeah so this is is important to us. That's what's fun about this time of year is when you're in the playoff hunt other games manner to you just for fantasy football purposes exactly. We had a little more mistakes than I would have liked. He didn't have any touchdowns but he also didn't throw an interception so that's a big one right there. He was sacked four four times but there there were a few times when he fumbled. He had the one fumble two fumbles one fumble and we lost it but there was one point one sack doc I think where he was scrambling and Roggio ran into him. I saw you pointed it out to a couple of sacks I saw was the offensive. John was the running back to Howard missing blocks so I look at that on tape see. How many of those sacks off at alarm Jay Howard had a good game today day in sixty one yards on five receptions? Isn't the Jacksonville the sack leaders in the league. Something like that. Now they're sevent- they're tied for seven to the browns actually but here's would electives. Game slid away. Even though we haven't twenty lead and I can tell the narrators narrators commentator. I I actually said that you can feel the momentum shift in the stadium and I was like yeah. It's a bunch of Buckner fans and they're all thinking. Oh here we go again. WE'RE GONNA lose kidding with. I never felt threatened in this game at all. I did a little bit. I felt like they were picking up momentum. There was a big reception by Charq Day. Drive forever down the field but they only came away with three so gardner. Men's shoe definitely has a different energy about him. The benched Nick foles. I think we broke nick foles. I think we broke Matt Ryan and I know we broke Cam. Newton and Julio Jones Julio Jones. He was out with a shoulder injury this this week that a sustained against ears defense played well today interesting stat. I saw last week. I haven't researched it to see where we're at now or even if it was true but we have not allowed a third and seven or longer play this year and we didn't in this game from what I can tell when I remember I was sitting there right on down uh-huh every time it was third and seven longer. We stopped them penalty yards. Books had eight for forty four yards Jacksonville double debt. They had sixteen but they tripled it for yardage at one hundred twenty-five crazy not allowed to give up y'all or not a good football team. You just throw that out there now. L. Dj Charq in my fantasy football. God's punishing moving ever played against the buccaneers. We Beano in time of possession. We had the ball thirty three minutes. They had twenty six minutes. Turnovers four to one. That was incredible. Did you see beyond that special teams play. They showed it on the broadcast they had Ryan Smith tripled beating the crap out of him on special teams. Don't go he is so whoa. I have never seen that before where they put three guys on one player to try and block you. And that's the return that they had. That was a good return because they were able to hold old. We really good special teams. Plays like when we were on our goal line basically in the offense later in the game and they held us to three now and we had to punt the ball basically from our end zone Bradley opinion punit it and it was a good punt and then they got a block in the back penalty. I think and back them up it was like they have started on the thirty yard line whereas before they probably would have expected that they had really good field position. Especially when we're putting from our the end zone that sucks Maldin leave the game with an injury. Hope he's okay. You know. I think the next play. They made a completion on Ryan Smith for for a chunk of yardage it might have been fifteen yards but we blew rumor veto blocking on offense. I love that I love seeing him on offense and and you brought this up that this week media were what you notice from the locker room interviews. Just everyone loves him in the Locker Room. He's like a favorite. Yeah that's what I've heard is that he's like last week. They don't bucks fan under podcasts. And we're talking about in the locker love the last week. That's all anybody in the locker room wanted to talk talk about. VW's touchdown just beaming from year to year cool and you know defenders have to be shitting themselves when they see him. Lineup offense. Yeah he drove that one and I think he drove straight backwards. I love the creativity. The trickery can't believe I can't believe a call at the beginning of the year. It's going to be a little bit better. When Gardner mid shoe came in you could just tell? Their whole team changed quite a bit. He's such more dynamic player but he's also more GONNA make a lot more mistakes he had at least two. Maybe three intentional. Grounding calls at work called one day which I was happy about but then there was a couple of others that were just completely blatant like man you know. I hate those intentional grounding calls. Sometimes I called some. Does he know we would add eight sacks. Yeah it'd be nine if they would've intentionally grounded. The ball and Nevada David called for that. Pass interference on fourth and goal as incidental. Omeday I mean what could they do. He's run he's following the guy. The guy stops and runs in the hill. Do Bullshit call and that sucks to because he was on that streak of penalties twenty seventeen. Oh that's right. Got About Oh man. Ref crew was a lot Anderson. They seem like they did an okay delve other than that yeah. I didn't really notice any blatant issues. He's the eagles lost to Miami. Tends to have the same record that they do. I think finding seven we're out in division with the Eagles. Those are in the conference with the Eagles in the panthers. All three of us are five and seven. The bears are at six and six cowboys are at six and six. The Rams are six six five zero plan now and then from there you jump up to eight and three of the Vikings bitings of the ones where they have to lose out. They are the last of the wildcard. Right yeah right right. Now it's forty niners saints packers cowboys sacred. I come in here for another saints. Packers cowboys than the Vikings seahawks those the ones in the playoffs. Brad now deceased and read now three weeks ago we were joking about US ducking it's now it's a serious everybody's talking about it. We can do it. I mean it's a long shot but we can do it. We got a good team. It's one game to watch coach. That's what's important very entertaining. It was for Jacksonville fans. I'm sure but there were a few times when we could have given up the lead when not give up the lead but give give them a chance. Yeah that was one of the most impressive things about this game to me as we pretty much kept our foot on their throat so game. We didn't screw up and start vomiting allowing points to him and stuff. Yeah James only cost the ball up one no interceptions. It was just that fumble did it but it was ruled incomplete after the challenge. Yeah definitely hit the Ground Jones. Yeah we challenged challenge. It's turnover maybe. That was a different one. We will have have the Bruce Arians press conference at the end of the podcast here. If you're GONNA stay and listen to that. I'm sure he's going to be in a good mood. I haven't heard it yet. It'd be ready to get his drink on. He's probably got a couple elaine him already good win guest a bad team but we dominated like we should. I thought I run. Game would be more dynamic but we really didn't need to to do our best. Receivers were not at the top of the Bourne Permanent Howard. Yeah paramount and Howard today and then my Gavin's both had four receptions each fifty yards. It'd be three for my Godwin but look Evans was targeted. Eleven times in the only four. You're yeah for sure. Five of six for eighty seven.

"We'll see their time to talk about the defensive side of the football now craig. Let's preview your article a little bit you can on eyraud head pride preparing you for what the jacksonville jaguars and john wonderful people are going to present to you on sunday they they utilize why cross a little bit is that right yeah that's right <hes> diff- lipa abo- with foale's near the end of twenty seventeen when he was the quarterbacks coach for the eagles kinda help develop them some flood concepts to try and beat some match zone coverages and they use them a lot. We kind of i'm explaining in the article. The way that why cross is used for a simplified thing basically the why why the tight end runs a little bit of a deep crosser and they try and get him in that space between the safeties and the linebackers there are a bunch of variations nations are a bunch of things that they can do with their x and y or x z receivers on the outside and they're slot receiver but i explained a couple of ways that they can can win in those matchups and then i actually went back and watched steve spagnolo's defense playing in week fifteen against nick foles and def- lippo and actually destroyed one of them on the goal line with a well-timed blitz and i kind of explained why that works and why those flood concepts can beat the match zone coverages and how steve spagnolo can counter them so be on the lookout for that if you haven't read it yet. Go check it out really really the jaguars are probably just excited to blake. Bortles does not have to q._b. These white crosses anymore you at least have a competent thrower guy that is not more effective. I'm just scrambling out behind the flood concept but no it's a great article and like craigslist. He's kind of walking you through what the concept is. There's ways to stop it and it also like why it's still going to cause some issues potentially for the chiefs so issues something to look out for. When you're watching the game you take it over to your kickoff party and you're gonna look really smart to all your friends you start calling out why cross and how and why it's being stopped or effective so make sure you're using craig's knowledge for your own game. Yeah give that a try wanna see as you can utilize it is it's gonna be good. I i've seen some of the clips that he's he's posted for. It and i am looking forward to reading as well so be on the lookout because in appreciate craig's fantastic editing ability his clips have gone to another level of this waiting time. He is pretty much on n._f._l. Films yeah no the tool that he uses to kind of help. Draw schematics someplace i. I need to probably need to probably take a few classes from craig trying to give the people a little more insight. That's all it's it's nothing fancy winston renaissance stuff. It's good stuff man <hes> and just expect you're going to kind of get a scouting article for both sides of the football mad. He's gonna talk about what the offense can do against the ponant every week. Craze gonna talk about what's what the defense can do against the opponent every week and it's it's really good stuff. I'm really excited to see what they what they kind of reveal every single week so be on the lookout for that our rights second storyline. What does the real defense defense the real steve spagnolo defense with the starting defense. What's it look like from <hes> from a schematic standpoint craig. That's what we're kind of anxious to see. Oh man i. I'm not only my anxious from his command standpoint. I'm also anxious to see all the personnel and the field together. They played together as a group for about two..

I'm just going to ignore that. This whole thing is happening right now because i learned today. That matt isn't fourteen. I just he's so much younger than me that i thought that maybe he was just in the prime of his teenage years here but but no he's almost thirty wow four of your teenage years i feel like if you're probably teenage years you were doing something very correctly is a teenager like yeah. "Website defense. Outer dot com. We've talked about the discrepancies and we've tried to pinpoint what exactly is happening. We can't quite put our finger on its Zak with the Jaguars with a one five record on the road one and four conference in the division. Three seven record in the conference. You're three and five record at home. We've been trying to figure out what's been going on with the dolphins. And we can't quite put our touches on it. But when you look at the Jaguars, right? What do you think would be their problem for their Row Records? I mean, obviously, it's not a great season. And last year you made it to the AFC championship game. But did you kind of see this last year as well? At points. I did it was just I think the team as a whole overachieved last year in that's not to discredit them. Because I last year was just absolutely wonderful for Jaguars fans in the team alike. I mean, they did play incredibly well. But it wasn't something that they could bring into this year with the same expectation level the see that dominance of performance from their defense and the offense to be able to get just enough Dunton, you know, be in sync with that defense. They they believe that they could. That's why the extended Bortles, but that formula teams pick up on it. It's not up in to have the injury left that they had last year. It just there was no way that they could possibly replicate that they bought into it teams realize that hey, you get their offense off their rocker. The defense can only do so much when you know, they're out there getting tired. And then what makes it worse as the offense comes out and. Puts out a three and out in the defense. Right back on the field. So you'll see early and games Jaguars defense looks really good. When teams start running the ball down their throat right after the offense just puts up miserable miserable showings on the side of the ball. The defense starts to give out in. I don't know if I can blame them too much because they're on the field way. Too much time of possession might not show it because I don't really know. Why just you can you can tell when you're watching the game at the offense is way too quick on and off the field. And it's hurting the defense in it hurt them. So quite honestly as much as the Jaguars offense is a whole has had issues if they bring in someone like Kirk cousins mass off season, or obviously, you know sucks with his injury now. But you can't assume that he has the same thing here, but Alex Smith in this past offseason or drafting Lamar Jackson or moving up for a quarterback last year, and realizing that you got lucky with the one year, Blake Bortles gave you I truly believe that this entire team might be a difference. Relation with a quarterback change where the offense when be dragging literally every aspect of this team down sack. I feel like you're speaking to me when. CD's of your team of offense. It's a little bit of defense. It's a little bit of coaching. What I found with the dolphins is that in our last six losses at in critical junctures of the game. Our defense has given up Greek consecutive scores and every single one of those games. So the defense tends to break down for us at the worst time. So I will be looking for the Jaguars to possibly be more successful later in the game than maybe you're accustomed to. But let's kind of let the script a little bit and talk about kind of something in a vacuum..

"And also the NFL draft Zach actually getting senior bowl credentials this year. So we'll talk about that Zach but welcome to Finsider radio. Thank you for joining us here on this preview episode for one of the most exciting matchups in the NFL this weekend. I really appreciate you having me on I feel like this pod is going to be a lot more entertaining than the three hours. We're gonna spend watching the game on Sunday. Yes. So the over under right now for the Jaguars verse dolphin stands at thirty eight dolphins coming out with a seven seven record the Jaguars coming with the four and ten record. But we know both. Offenses. No, no greatest show on turf on this Erade stuff. It is probably you know, some of the worst offense you could possibly see an interesting enough. Adam gaze of as we all know as we've all talked on this show ofensive group, but not so much here with the Miami Dolphins both teams ranked towards the bottom of leagues in all categories. Cody Kessler your quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars Leonard for net. Dede Westbrook actually coming along pretty nicely though with Kessler at the helm as we head into this game. Can you just talk to us mainly about the Jacksonville offense where does the offense the and right now what kind of threat do they pose if any what can we expect from Leonard four net? We know he's kind of dropped off this season with injuries and production and and on and off the field. What's the general sense? We can get from the Jaguars offense or when they go. Dolphins defense. Are they going to light it up? I'm just struggling trying to think of like a weapon that they even have because if they had one I'm sure they'd tried use it, but the offense has been pretty anemic throughout the entire season. Other than the first couple of games of the year where they had things rolling their way. But Dede Westbrook. I mean, he's been playing mainly slot. But occasionally splits out wide, he's turned into probably one of the best separating route runners in the entire league really really fast people thought he'd coming and be deep threat, but they really polished him up in the short game. And honestly, I think that's Cody Kessler best friend 'cause I think he threw it past ten yards last week more than I think he did it twice. So that's just kind of his thing that he tries to keep things in the short game and try and create yards after the catch. And it doesn't help that the Jaguars left tackle, I believe is there on their fourth starter their second or third starter at left guard. Second starter at center, and then the two guys that actually are still starting on the line that we're the start the start of the year just really suck. So all in all it's been really really bad for this Jaguars offense injuries have heard quarterback play hurt at the end of the day. You know, everything right now is hurting this offense that the ender bet the under the under this upcoming weekend. Sack. Thanks for joining us. I know Jacksonville doesn't have chance of the playoffs. All call the dolphins. Chances a Wylie Coyote chance. Have the over under of thirty eight. But what we're all forgetting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were real soft this year in their scheduled and schedule anybody from the state of Florida. So this defacto game between the Jacksonville Jaguars. And the Miami Dolphins is the battle for Florida. So everyone running into this game. But now, let's let's address the elephant in the room. Should the dolphins Jaguars? Just go ahead and have a coup may for a two quarterback. Because that's essentially what we're looking at. And have you had a chance to look at this quarterback class yet who do you like so far I have? And I think probably the most ready to play out the gate is Dwayne Haskins. And that's like weird to say considering this his first full year as starter a redshirt sophomore. Granted he is twenty one he's going to be turning twenty to believe the week after the draft. So he's a little older for kit. Seraing what class he's in?.

"Because as it happens. That allows the due to give you the ball to give it to you get what the hell I see you big all be any dropped the ball. They're after. But this is oh, this is a team that is looking for an identity, and they have found it in opposition to their former coach, which is strange because you know, the guy was fired. But hey, well, whatever. Defining identity an identity for week. It'll be identity the next time. They play them. Then I go into a game against the Steelers feel like we're gonna show Hugh Jackson. They wish they could though last day. Blake Bortles after losing estimated, Josh Allen and the bills. The Jacksonville Jaguars have made some changes Doug Marrone, his analysis that Cody Kessler will start Sunday against the colts. And this morning announced that they are firing offense coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett, according to you and Rappaport Hackett quote thought he was being called into discussing QB change. Instead he was out and quote, obviously, the QB change happened. Anyway. So what is your reaction to this news? This doesn't make any sense now right now it made no sense to fire Hackett at the expense of Bortles than I imagined hack. It's frustration where he thinks they're about to tell them that. Finally, he can call somebody to blame for it was like now we had to be cooking with game. And they tell them. No. We're about to be cooking with Blake without you. And then after they fire him they say, oh, by the way, Blake Bortles is being benched. So whose faults are you saying that this is that it's going in this way? If you think you need to check out another quarterback. Why did you wait this long to season? You didn't have to set fire to the season before you make any of these decisions. I don't understand anything. They are doing right now the best defensive what the Jaguars are doing right now is that they are finally recognizing who is bad at their job that they employ. Maybe they truly believe that Nathaniel Hackett isn't the answer that the fact that he was running the ball. So often about sixty to seventy percent of the time while I'm not saying that it was. Look at that. Right there. You know, what they should have done. Right. Then what do they play? But here's the problem. If you do not believe in the annual Hackett then. Yeah, I get it. Get him out of there. Maybe he's not the right? Chef for this kitchen with two weird ingredients. But the second thing you do which is getting rid of Bortles. We were all calling for it. So my question simply is if you are Tom Coughlin, and you're trying to be Preservationists about yourself rinse you like be served to get like a week with Bortles and then play this as long as possible. Because getting this all done today seems like it's a bit too radical for his self interested personal go look at the quarterback that Doug Marrone is as the fan you'll Hackett to coordinate in Jacksonville and in buffalo now that being it this team has lost six games in a row. And if you wanna see the level of frustration here, let afford that won't find somebody so bad that he ran sixty yards to do it. Now, this is one of the most Larry's plays I've ever seen because it's one of those simultaneous possession things. I never really understand how it works. But neither one of these is letting go to ball knows right? They laid up all. All top each other everything else this four that. He wasn't in the game. Right. He's ready to go. The scrat- happened. "Good morning, Amy. How are you? Fantastic. Heard. You say about an hour ago that people aren't listening believe me people are listening to I was being a smart ass. But I was hoping no one was listening while I was singing along. That's not how people listen I want to I wouldn't have a job. If nobody listened men I understand I want to ask you about the Cleveland situation. Now, they fired the head coach and Haley, correct? Well, why would they do that? Why wouldn't they just remove Haley? Yeah. That's a good question. I feel well they're maybe it's easier to answer why they wouldn't just remove Haley with the Hugh Jackson par as opposed to the other which would be just removed Jackson, not Haley Haley just got there. And he's been the guy working with Baker Mayfield. But it sounds like the environment itself had gotten pretty toxic around the two and that there were starting to be rumblings in grumblings in the locker room, and that players themselves are starting to challenge coaches, and that's a leadership issue. Right. It's not just about these two strong personalities butting heads and having different ideas. It's also about a crack in the in the leadership chain. And then you throw in the record of three thirty six and one and the fact that they've lost three in a row, although you can easily see the Browns being five two and one that's the crazy part. I mean, how is the kicking issue Hugh Jackson's fault? But yeah, it sounds like they just wanted to clean that out. Because if it wasn't the the friction, and it wasn't the personality clashes if it wasn't. The, you know, the the two of them going back and forth about how things should be done. Well, then it was the leadership problem. Well, I listened to a couple of days ago, and you were talking about that you were through defending Eli and let me ask you a question about your. I was through defending Odell Beckham junior. Oh, okay. I'm sorry. But, you know, ally not being a mobile quarterback and isn't bad as the giants. Look, he's why wouldn't they try to get that quarterback out of Tampa Bay? That's now on the bench. You know what I mean? Because you I which one. Excuse me, which one James the kid played for Florida state. That said Jameis Winston not Ryan Fitzpatrick. No, not be your answer. I don't think Tampa Bay is going to trade either one of those guys because right now, neither one of them is a viable long term solution for the rest of they don't even know if they're going to get through the next game without making a quarterback change. They're going to need to have both of them. So that's probably why what do you think? The giants blow it up then. And start over when well at some point, you know, because it looks like they're not going to be a contender this year, you know, only halfway through this. I don't think they need to blow it up. They obviously have glaring issues. They've traded away pieces of their defensive that he could get something in return for the defense hasn't been bad. But you can't you can't trade a guy if nobody's willing to give you anything in return. They traded some of the pieces they felt like they could get a, you know, value for in return. And then they obviously cut a guy on their offensive line. Who was really bad? The o line is still a major issue in terms of of the rebuilding. You've got some incredible young pieces on offense. So I don't think you need to blow the whole thing up and start over they likely will go after a young quarterback to start getting him ready. I mean, I still don't think Eli is the sole issue. It's not like all of a sudden he can't run. He's a manning. They don't run, and it's really about the protection to think about it saquon Barkley. He's had one one hundred yard rushing game as good as he is. He can move and yet he's still not finding rushing lanes behind that offensive line. Yeah. That's true. Well, lastly since I left Philadelphia, and I'm down here in Carolina. Now, I think the Panthers are putting it together. Yeah. They certainly look like it don't they? They sure do long way to go. But it's better. It's better to look good than to look bad. Thank you. I appreciate the call in Myrtle Beach at Myrtle Beach on Myrtle Beach depends. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence here on CBS sports radio. Yeah. The Eli manning situation as much as people would like to dump him is not happening. He has a no trade clause. So he's likely not getting traded either. I I highly doubt that if they went to him and asked him to waive the no trade clause that he would he's got young kids in New York. He loves New York. He's talked about wanting to spend his entire career here. Now, they decided to cut him at the end of the season. That's their prerogative. But I don't think of his own volition. He's going to agree to leave New York to go somewhere else. People point to the situation in Jacksonville. Where Blake Bortles is sometimes the issue, but not always he actually played well enough for them to win on Sunday in London. But they there you wanna talk about soap opera after week eight. The Jaguars not only went to London and didn't play walnut. Couldn't capitalize on their -tunities. But their defense had four guys who spent what I've heard is nine hours in jail in a foreign country because they went to. I guess you could call it a bar. It's been described as as place, it's big on burlesque. They went to an establishment an adult establishment and thought somehow that their drinks were getting comped. I would say that it was a language or cultural barrier, except you know, what they speak the same languages we do. And so they ended up trying to leave and walk out on a seventy thousand dollar tab seventy thousand dollars. Okay. There's three of us here in the studio right now. And I know we're not big football players. But could you imagine running up a seventy thousand dollar tab with the three of us in one more? What the heck how much alcohol is that? It can't just be alcohol. There's no way it had to be extracurricular activities tone of appetizers. That too so food drink and entertainment seventy thousand dollars. I mean, you'd be there quite a while they were entrenched anyway, so they rack up this Bill. They think they're allowed to lead. They think it's I don't know where they got that idea. They get into a fight with some bouncers and some people outside the bar, then they get arrested and spend eight nine hours in jail. Bury church was among them. I don't know how you don't bench those guys. But either way that's the kind of soap opera that the Jaguars have become this is the week after they're screaming and yelling at each other on the defensive side of the ball. Certainly a lot of intensity and passion. They're just not a whole lot of success. These days the Jags may need to be a team that's blown up. They were just in the AFC championship. All right. So you can find me on Twitter Ayla radio. Take our touchdown Tuesday. Whole you can also weigh in on Facebook and coming up next show..

"Injury report dealing with a quadricep offensive tackle lane Johnson. Still fighting a high ankle sprain that he suffered a few weeks ago defensive tackle loading Nado at the calf again and then offensive tackle Jason Peters with the biceps. That's going to be literally every week. Now, it's not gonna untarred self quarterback. Carson still dealing with some back. Issues, but is going to be back. Your biz fully expected to be in full participation tomorrow. Jacksonville Jaguars injury report who just run through this real quick did not participate winner for nets. Not gonna play a quarterback. DJ? Hayden cornerback Taylor. Pat Mun in linebacker Donald Payne those three guys don't mean. Really anything limited participation starter. AJ boy, either the cornerback dealing with a calf defensive end Kleist Campbell ankle and hip off its lineman. Brandon Linder the only good player on that offense as dealing with a knee. Oh, other than normal, of course, dealing with a foot injury and titan James. Oh, Shaughnessy, sir. Offense offensive lemon, Jeremy pardon Nell with the show that's a really beat up offense of line. And Ben you look at this roster. We looked at it as depth chart. Now. It was like this is so gross. What they're putting out on the field. And you realize that got cameramen smell offensive tackle out of Alabama. He's on the Andre goolsbee. The tight end is on. I r you've also got we'll Richardson which was going to be there. Reserved tackle tight end Niles Paul Austin Severi Jenkins. Three titans. Yeah. Josh wells, the tackle Corey grant the running back marquees Lea he's white. That's a different Mark. Usually is it is listened to you bet receiver. Yeah. Yeah. Wide receiver remark. Easily one of the homeless DB here on pro football reference anyway to mess with you that is a lot of players and this offense of roster is kind of gross before we before we get to this gross depth chart for the Jaguars offense. Is there? Anything on the eagles injury report that you wanted to touch on before we get into this Jaguars overs. Eagles c-conversation just generally it's very interesting to see how they handle some of these limited guys like not as the first one that comes to mind lane is another one comes to mind because you're getting close to the by. So you're going to have that extra week of rest, and like it'd be really helpful for like these guys done with Hammy is like you said Sidney Jones or Corey Graham Darren sproles, you get two straight weeks of rest, you know, like, you know, like. Corey Graham ready to go against Jacksonville. Do you play them or do you? Let him get two more weeks of rest, knowing you've got safety problems in worrying, you reactivate it when you know, you could have gone him that extra week right risk management. Yeah. When you're coming into the by and you have this many injuries. I mean, kind of make sense you you haven't had your by weekend. You're about to get it. And it's going to help you get more healthy..

"The average starting field position. For the Texans was their own twenty four yard line that put ten points on the board right there out of the Houston's twenty. But Todd washes playing ultra conservative. He runs a ton of zone and when he does run man, very rarely do you see any press tight man? You see a lot of off man that's giving a ton of cushion. We would know what that's like. You're in Philadelphia. Not at all. And the Jaguars like to run a lot of four man Russia's, they don't like the blitz. That's great. If you've got the guys that can do it and they certainly do. But when it comes to the point where you are refusing to adjust from running, so with so much cushion to where teams of even like recently Dak Prescott has not been what he was his rookie year at all. It was regarded as a game. The Jaguars should have done well against the past in even he came in and ate them up because he just took what they gave him with all that cushion in that room to work underneath to where they're releasing the ball. So quick. It doesn't matter that he can got quite has thirty pressures on the year in his still getting near the quarterback because the ball's out so quickly that this defense is just getting eaten up. Zaka described the Jaguars defense, not the eagles defense. Yeah, yeah. And, and you have you? I can definitely see the comparisons because you look at both teams and you see, especially along the front four just dynamic pass rushes on both sides right in that they, they're yielding the same issues. And I think that's going to be. I think that's actually something that someone that's smarter than me at football. You could really dive into a cool project of multiple defenses across the league just to see how offense is what the firepower were seeing these days in defenses in their inability to adjust to what the new face of the passing offense in the NFL is doing. I think we really cool project anyway. I think the Jaguars can find a way to eliminate guys like alshon Jeffery in even a guy who's been forced targets underneath in Nelson galore with playing a little bit more press rather than opening up. You know, the underneath zones have maybe like you mentioned on my show, having Jalen Ramsey shadowing, alshon Jeffery. I think that. A really fun match up to watch. They were to end up doing that, that that can solve a lot of the issues because the pass rush has the ability to get home, but they can only do so much when offenses are constantly taking what they're being given..

"From locked on Jaguars joining us. You can follow him on Twitter at Zach, underscore, good. All that's g. o. o. d. a. l. l. he covers the Jaguars and he is going to give us some insight on the Jacksonville. Jaguars give us a feel for their struggling offense. Their quarterback situation where Blake Bortles in Cody Kessler their defense, whether or not they're the same defense better for worse. So this is going to give us a good overview. Of what the Jaguars look like from someone that covers the team. I hope you enjoy and let's kick it over to that right now and joining me today from locked on Jaguars is my good friend, Zach, Goodall, Zach, how you doing brother? I was doing good when I saw the Jags might have been making a quarterback change, and then Monday came and shattered my dreams. So just about your average normal star to your week, how do you feel about scoring less than ten points in three games with the immortal? Blake, Bortles, see, that sounds horrible. But. But why? But what you really dive into it. You got three drives out of sixteen in the first half going for forty plus yards in the rest sticking about twenty or less. I don't even remember exactly how many were three and outs because I started to cry as I was putting those together that that tells you just about where it's at man. Yeah. So I mean, let's let's dive right into Zach. You guys are in a similar situation. You're off to a three and four start in a mediocre division. What's the feeling around this team right now? Because I'm just starting to really dig into the Jacksonville Jaguars team after having watched them a few times live in some all twenty two because they ended up playing like the titans or something like that, and I ran across their film. So if I say anything that's off base, please let me know. But Blake Bortles was benched for Cody Kessler last week. And I guess my question would be a, why would you have either of those quarterbacks on your roster and. And how can this team turn things around this year when that's the type of quarterback play that you're getting, especially when you're missing, you're starting left tackle, and you're only one play away from giving significant playing time to a guy like Eric flowers, air missing. You're starting left. Tackle your key reserve left tackle. You're plugging in a guy that's never taken a snap at left tackle is your third string. He's a converted right guard and you're to quarterback options are Blake Bortles in Cody Kessler. I mean, this is like Canadian league style football. At this point, I'd rather be watching that there might be better talent out there in all in all seriousness. When you look at this offense, they've devoted themselves to shadowing, Blake, Bortles deficiencies by power run game. Sometimes it's worked when Leonard net has proven that the theory of him being made of paper machine is correct things go haywire and they brought in Cody Kessler to replace Chad Henny as his backup as a younger alternative in..

"In the secondhalf david was brilliant he was than you think about the last six games that he played he didn't throw for over two hundred yards in any one of them and he threw only six touchdowns the nine interceptions so you coming into this one he's coming off of a a career low with in percentages in what he's doing is a quarterback you knew that he would have to manipulate some things with his feet and with his legs to keep planes alive but in the second half as a third down situations you could see he was calm and collected he didn't look like they're player that he looked like the last six games and once again just like their big stiffarm that he had up against the jaguars that touchdown that he had the block that he had at the end of the game you saw how much the titans team rallied around him and talked about him to build his confidence going into that football game and he excelled with and you know what a guy connects with the team look at the reaction from the sideline after that blocked through on the henry run and the guys that ran over the offense of live in guys defensive players that came off this off the bench on the sideline and were celebrate with mary oda it shows how a quarterback does connect with his team and as you just mentioned david now the fact that they had his back and he has there is i mean that's really what it's all about the come robbery and you saw it after he there are a lot of quarterback said would kind of not get in the way of a defensive player and he didn't just get in the way he threw his shoulder tyga leverage you got underneath rumble but yeah i mean i think they're just goes to show you when you're in the playoffs and you're part of their team you know how important a quarterback is for your success and how important it is to let him know that you all have is back and you have confidence in them and you could clearly see that in tennessee team the way they responded the.
