"After the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha Wisconsin, there's riding in the streets. There's there's fires there's businesses being burnt down, and somehow some way some informal militia was formed or communicated. I. Don't know WHO's through social media, how they all got together. But all of a sudden, there are bunch of of guys and I, don't think there were any women I didn't see any. From the videos, I looked at a bunch of is with. The calm long guns at a are fifteen, some had and they were in Kenosha while the demonstrators slash rioters or in the streets and they are protecting businesses. But inevitably, you know it's GonNa happen there's going to be there's going to be a conflict and there was and it was deadly and now a seventeen year old isn't kyle rittenhouse a seventeen year old from Illinois is now charged with shooting three different people. "This is CNN breaking news. Welcome to our viewers in the United States and around the World Wolf Blitzer is off today. I'm Jim Acosta in the situation room and we're following breaking news president trump's wrapping up a controversial visit to Kenosha Wisconsin moments ago. He addressed the police shooting Vega Blake saying his message to the family is that he feels quote terribly for anybody who goes through that lakes family is critical of the president's visit and did not WanNa talk to him the president also once again, denying that systemic racism exists and making a strong show of support for. Local law enforcement announcing one million dollars in funds to quote go out and do what you have to do. We're also following breaking pandemic news. The US death toll has topped one hundred and eighty, four, thousand people and more than six million confirmed cases, and now a national institutes of health handle says there's no evidence backing the use of convalescent plasma touted by president trump to treat her own virus patients. Let's get more on the breaking news with CNN. White House correspondent Jeremy Diamond Jeremy the president's focuses on the unrest in Kenosha not the police shooting of Jacob Blade. No question Jim President trump spent nearly three hours on the ground today in Kenosha Wisconsin and he did not say, Jacob Lakes name once instead the president focused on surveying the damage of some of the rides that have happened in that city as well as meeting and thanking law enforcement there the president also taking credit falsely for deployment of the National Guard there that was ordered by the state's governor when the president was though Jim Asked about Jacob Blake, all we heard the president say was that he feels terribly about the situation but he declined to weigh in any further saying that it is a local investigation and of course Jim the president did not meet with Jacob Lake or his family. Thing like this should never happen tonight president trump surveying kenosha Wisconsin a week after police here shot a black man in the back seven times but the president all but ignored that tragedy instead lamenting the property damage caused by riots that followed the shooting and delivering political remarks reckless far-left politicians continue to push the destructive message that our nation and our law enforcement are oppressive or racist They'll throw out any word. That comes to trump also taking credit for a national guard deployment. He did not order this ended within an hour. Soon as we announce, we were coming and then so we were here was ended immediately falsely claiming federal troops marched into Kenosha and ended the unrest, the reality all National Guard troops in Wisconsin are under state control as for Jacob Blake trump addressing the situation only after questions from reporters I feel terribly for anybody that goes through that. As you know, it's under investigation. It's a big thing happening right now I guess it's under local investigation Blake's uncle staying above the fray we're not gonNA get caught up with him. He wished we would, and we're not. We're here to heal CANOSA and push for our agenda forgetting little Jake Justice today trump denying the existence of systemic racism in policing. Police do an incredible job. And I think you do have some bad apples a day after he compared the police officer who shot Blake to a Golfer cracking under pressure you know a joke they choke shooting. Shooting a guy in the back many times I've been. Couldn't have done something different Caen of wrestle. In the meantime he might have been going for a weapon. You know as a whole big thing there, but they choke just like in a golf tournament. They miss a three-foot trump also making excuses for kyle rittenhouse, the seventeen year old charged with killing two people during kenosha protests. He was trying to get away from them. I guess it looks like NFL and then they very violently attacked him but I guess he was in very big trouble. He would have been. He probably would have been killed, but it's under it's under investigation and while Joe Biden delivered blanket condemnation of violence we have to stand against violence and every former takes trump refusing condemn violence by his supporters that was a peaceful protest and paint and paint as a defensive mechanism. Paint is not bullets. Trump is also spinning new conspiracy theories. Biden strings. Heard of people that are in the dark shadows, and then there was this we had somebody get on a plane from a certain city this weekend and in the plane, it was almost completely loaded with with thugs wearing these dark uniforms, black uniforms with gear. On the plane to do big damage the president providing no evidence to back up his strange claim this was a firsthand account. Of a plane going from Washington to wherever. Had I'll see if I can get that information for you maybe they'll speak you maybe they walk. In Jeremy. Diamond had that report we'll get more from Jeremy later let's get more on the president's visit to. Kenosha. CNN's Ryan Nobles thereforce. Ryan Jacob blakes family did not want the president of there that was evident today. Yeah, that's exactly right Jim, and in fact, the president attempted to reach out to the Blake. Family on numerous occasions tried to go through intermediaries people of who he believed was the family pastor and that did not amount to much, Jim we should point out that the situation here in Kenosha has calmed down a bit. It is peaceful, but it's still very tense. There are many buildings that are still boarded up. As far as five six miles away from most of the activity and violence took place here in Wisconsin and the Blake family is doing everything. They can to take the focus away from president trump and take the focus away from politics and keep it on the shooting off their family member. This person who is still a suffering from these gunshot wounds and could have his life completely altered as a result. Take a listen to what those close to Blake are saying about the president's trip here to Kenosha. Others are using this moment to further cleave raising vision in chaos. We know by trump is here in. Game. It at the same reason, she gives his art land. He is here to okay go in fear. and. We should point out that the Blake family does not want this to be about politics Jim but it is impossible to not connect those dots. Of course. Wisconsin is a crucial swing state is a state that president trump narrowly won four years ago and it was a key to his victory in two thousand sixteen. The president's campaign team still has Wisconsin on their map this time around it's a state they would desperately like to win and Jim when you drill it down even further, the city of Kenosha, the county itself also very important to the president's reelection bid. This state that has a state and a county that is routinely voted for Democrats that is up until twenty sixteen and the president is hoping to keep it that way in twenty twenty. So it may not be that of surprise that he made the trip here today Jim it is going to be a very tight race there in Wisconsin CNN's Ryan Nobles, thank you very much for that. Let's get more on all of this with Kenosha County Supervisor Anne Berg, Mr? Berg. Thanks for joining US ahead of today's trip grabbing me. Yes. Thank you and you said President Trump. And his visit would only further inflamed tensions there in divisions there fierce pan out. Do you think? I think we are pretty well divided right now can also that we come together on a lot of issues but right now. With trump in other issues in the community right now there's there's a lot of divisions politically. When you see the president walking through the rubble, they're talking to people talking to folks who lost their businesses. Were you at least glad to see the president do that. Man If you WanNa take it from the positive side shirts good to see that he's. Author talking. But what is this kind of problem that we have right now is there's a lot of talk. What are they.

"Has his hands up with his gun. People are yelling he shot someone shot someone and police pass him by there are a lot of questions here as to why he wasn't apprehended at that time. That's where I'd lost. Night's some guy decided to drive to Kenosha with his militia buddies to protect a business. And apparently ended up shooting three people and killing two, but don't worry the businesses. Okay. and. Let me tell you something. no-one drives into a city with guns because they love someone else's business that much. That's some bullshit. No one has ever thought. Oh, it's my solemn duty to pick up a rifle and protect that TJ Maxx they do it because they're hoping to shoot someone. That's the only reason people like him join these gangs in the first place and yes, I said it a gang enough with this militia bullshit. This isn't the battle of Yorktown. It's a bunch of dudes threatening people with guns. and. What would happen with those shootings? Last night is tragic. What happened afterwards is illuminating. Because of maybe wonder, it really made me wonder why some people get shot seven times in the back while other people are treated like human beings and reasoned with and taken into custody with no bullets in their bodies. How come Jacob Blake was seen as a deadly threat for a theoretical gun that he might have and might try to commit a crime with but this gunman who was armed and had already shot people who had shown that he is a threat was arrested the next day. Given full due process of the law and generally treated like a human being whose life masses. Roof Shop Church James Home shoot up a movie theater and both live to tell about it. Why is it that the police decide that some threats must be extinguished immediately while other threats get the privilege of being diffused. I'm Austin questions but I feel like we know the answer. The answer. Is that the gun? Doesn't matter as much as who's holding the gun. Because some people, black skin is the most threatening weapons of all..

"Brown. Sandra. This has been happening in my family and I shared here's for every single one of these people that has happened to. This is nothing new. I'm not said. I'm, not? Sorry. I'm angry. And I'm. Tired. I haven't cried one time I stopped crying gears ago. I am Numb. have been watching police murder people that look like me for years I'm not saying I don't want your pity I want change. Most powerful words those awards filled with pain and it only makes sense that Jacob sister is angry because not only have black people being mistreated for generations by the police. But because there's almost never any police accountability. These. Incidents remain an open wound and the pain and the anger just builds and builds with no closure or relief. Like people were tired of hearing. I'm sorry and then nothing happening because essentially what they really hearing is I'm sorry this is happening and I'm sorry that it's going to happen again. And it's because of that frustration and anger and pain that once again people took to the streets to express their rage outrage igniting in Kenosha. On fire rioters, smashing traffic lights, storming businesses, looting torching buildings, and cars. One we. Heard Dr Ferret as demonstrators faced off with police attentions quickly escalating authorities, pepper spraying civilians the entire site. As you can see still smoldering in firefighters are still running around town dealing with several sites just like this governor deployed one hundred, twenty-five member of the National Guard here yesterday to help as those peaceful protests during the day turned destructive after the curfew Yes for three days. Now, the streets of Kenosha have been ablaze. And although there have been peaceful protests I, mean that inevitably gets overshadowed when they so much civil unrest. So, once again, the pattern repeats itself, an unarmed black person shot by the COPS in response people go into the streets more law enforcement senton and the chaos only continues to grow. I could tell you the story with my eyes closed by now I wanted to I could prerecord five of these segments go on vacation and you've probably never know. And in this situation, just when you thought things couldn't get any worse lost night's it did breaking news a very dangerous situation Wisconsin. Two people are dead in clashes that may have evolved armed vigilantes. People may have moved.

"Well. That was a very, very emotional, very powerful news conference, a Ben Crump, the attorney representing the family of Jacob Blake. The young man who was shot in the back at least we're not told seven times by a white police officer in Kenosha Wisconsin yesterday he's in very serious condition still going through surgery maybe paralyzed potentially according to Ben crump for the rest of his life. Hope they're all hoping for a miracle we heard from other attorneys we heard from several family members Omar Jimenez is on the scene for us in. Kenosha. Right now Omar this was very powerful. These people are understandably very upset and very angry. They really are wolf and and this was really the first time we were able to hear from the family together as a unit and hear how they process what America and the world was able to process only through the lens of a cell phone video and you heard that was the mother of Jacob Lake Julia Jackson Finish up and have the last word in that press conference and she had that powerful story that when they visited him in the hotel room, there was an officer in that. Room and when she was about to pray with Jacob Blake, she says that Jacob stopped her asked if the officer was a man of faith and then all three of them prayed together and that was the message that she was trying to send that we need to be better as a people. Now, the father was a little bit more angry and a little bit more emotional over this saying I can only really describe him as fed up at one point he was tearing up over the course. Of this press conference as he tried to grapple with the fact of how many times his son was actually shot he said, they shot my son seven times like he didn't matter but then he emphasized my son matters and so all of that, of course, we're hearing the details from the family and then we also learn new details on the medical condition of Jacob. Blake because many assumes I think in the beginning being shot seven times in the back from that close that this was someone who Was not going to pull through. He is alive at this point he's been in the ICU we learn from his attorneys that he is in surgery right now but we also got more detail on how badly he actually is injured on top of the damage to his spinal cord. We understand he has holes in his stomach he had to have nearly his entire colon and small intestine removed kidney liver damage also shot in the arm and to use their words it is a miracle that Jacob is still. Well, what what are we hearing Omar from the local police? What are we hearing from local authorities yeah? Well, of course, we've seen over the past two nights. Demonstrations were largely peaceful during the daytime that tended to get a little bit more contentious and even violent at times at night, and so over. The course of these days, law enforcement has stepped up their presence and we did get word from the state of Wisconsin and from the Kenosha county government here, there will be one hundred and twenty-five additional National Guard on staff to help prepare for what they anticipate similar proceedings to what we saw in previous nights. Also one hundred additional law enforcement coming from multiple jurisdictions to aid with the Kenosha law enforcement response here, and may even be able to see behind me here this fencing. Yesterday, was not here. The night before dispensing is guarding the Kenosha county courthouse, which is really been the focal point for a lot of these demonstrations mainly to push for the fact that they want to see these officers not only fired but held accountable for the crimes they say these officers committed again as at least one of these officers pulled open fire seven times from point blank range on Jacob Wake as we saw play out in that video, the two two police officers we saw the video there on administrative leave right now they there's no charges or anything along those lines have been filed. They issued a statement. Do they have attorneys has the local police issued a statement on what may have caused this one police officer to fire seven times into Jacob Lakes. Back. As of right now, that is the crux of this investigation. Now, police said, they initially responded over a domestic dispute and kind of what we've been able to piece together from witnesses who were there in the area the attorneys for Jacob. Blake say that he was breaking up a fight between two women are crew was actually out in the neighborhood today talking to. Neighbors and a neighbor across the street confirmed that as well said that he was in the back yard working that day when you heard two women yelling and then next thing he knew law enforcement were there and he saw those seven shots play out in front of his eyes. So what led up to that shooting is kind of the crux of this investigation being. Led on multiple fronts by the Wisconsin Department of Justice and by the Kenosha County District Attorney's office, and then when you look at what the situation is right now, you mentioned they are on administrative leave but no charges have been filed and that again is what everyone here seems to be waiting for the one of the groups that represents Kenosha police officers here says. that. They don't want people to be quick to judgment when looking at this video they say they want more context to come out aside from what we saw play out but that's not good enough for the Blake family who is said that what they have seen on video is enough and it represents what we've seen in many cases across this country time and time again. unfortunately Omar stay with us. When we bring in I, want to get some more on this very, very disturbing case in Wisconsin are seeing political commentator. Bakari sellers is with us our law enforcement analyst, the former Philadelphia, and Washington DC Police Chief Charles Ramsey is with us as well. So let me start with you a chief Ramsey What's your reaction when you heard from the Ben crump the lawyer when you heard from other lawyers there when you heard from family members you saw the video what do you think? Clearly it's a, it's a tragedy. There's no question about that and I I really feel for the children and I do hope that they get the best counseling that they could possibly get because I can't even imagine the kind of trauma that they've gone through as far as the video goes I did watch the video it doesn't show a whole lot. It picks up near the end I have no idea what prompted the officers to fire at the point in time that that he did fire I don't know if he was reaching for Ghana. What have you I've not read anywhere where a weapon was recovered at all. Y. They didn't restrain him in another way I. Just don't have the answers to any of add an awfully the investigation will give us some answers. But if they've got information and I'm talking about the police department, now they need to get it out because that that that video is very disturbing and is going to really be problematic for him the longer they wait before they directly address what took place. In this particular case, we heard Bukhari from Jacob Blake's father just a little while ago. Let me play a little clip and then we'll discuss. Shot my son. Seven Times. Lucky didn't matter. But my son. He's a human being and he batted. Car The families clearly suffering, which is totally understandable. What's so heartbreaking also is that Jacob Lakes three little boys three sons were inside that vehicle when their dad was shot seven times in the back. Yeah when you put that picture of on the screen, it hits home in a becomes really real especially for those of us that are fathers too. Young Black Boys and girls in this country having to grow up. In know that those those children had witnessed something. So horrific, there are few things I wanNA point out You know here we are again will it was just three months ago we were here having a very similar conversation about a young man who was gun who had a need to the back of his neck and couldn't breathe We had a moderate who was murdered in a good old fashioned south Georgia father.

"That much easier. Yeah Chef de when you think about Baker and even just some of the personal side of all of this, he's come out and said that he kind of lost himself a little bit now has a renewed focus. What are you hearing around the League or at least as close as it is to the browns about how they feel Baker is performing right now we'll that he's ready to take the next. Step and make that jump that we all are anticipating into making to marry up some of the previous comments you gotTa. God is bringing the perfect system within from Minnesota and Kevin Stefanski, which should really help that run game should be excellent there in Cleveland with everything that Kevin Stansky studied under Gary, Kubiak in Rick. Dennison. Now, the issue of course you they're going through camp right now is they've had this. Outbreak of Injuries Jarvis Landry caught that touchdown best left practice. Literally they don't think it's very serious. He's had a hip injury during the off season they're hoping it'll del Beckham junior is fully healthy which he wasn't last year, and then of course, yesterday lost their rookie second round draft pick rent it who was slated to start at free safety to a season ending torn Achilles. He will have surgery he. Will miss the season and their cornerback greedy. Williams. Also left practice with a shoulder injury. When Kevin's defence he was asked today if greedy Williams would miss a significant amount of time. He said we'll see we're still evaluating which tells you. It looks like he's GonNa. Miss some time at the very least. The question is how much so no Grande delpit and maybe no greedy Williams for a little period of time. We'll listen if you want to know about abs I'm the guy to talk to. Impact in the Hawaiian Kiara working listen. Here's here's the. The deal man. Let's let's get to the browns. Okay. Here's the deal. This is Baker's do or die season and I know a lot of people have talked about. Well, he's had all of these coaches and obviously kitchens wasn't the guy for the job. But as we've seen initially time is continuously running out all of the things that Dan Amina just said and even shifty what he said I believe that from you guys, you are some of the best minds when you talk about. Seeing guys be in a position to thrive. What I do know is this it's really about how Baker performed. You can draw the best place. You could put him in the great situation, but he has to be able to make decisions and move this Cleveland football team where they want to go. Do I believe he can kiss because of the off season because of the quietness in the normalcy that he's ingratiated himself with in his life I think he's poised to. Have a good season but I still need to see. Yeah. Well, guys look he's still has Beckham Junior on this team and according to ESPN NEXT GEN STATS OBI J..

"Yeah. You heard it right the highest paid safety in league history. Adam schefter has all the particulars on this deal. So catch us up shefty what's going on with it? WE'LL LAURA IS A. Situation where the two sides have been talking about a new deal throughout the course of the off season and they came together to where with Buddha Baker going into the last year of his deal Arizona wanted to get him tied signed up to a new contract and the two sides did that green to a four year fifty, nine, million dollar extension of Baker's exactly the kind of player Arizona wants to build around he's only twenty four years old he works as hard as anybody else great character just the. Kind Kinda guy that they want their amazingly enough for all the plays that he has made and he's made a ton of them out in the desert. He's never intercepted NFL pest and you're not paying intercept passes you're paying for big tackles big hits, the kind of leadership that he provides, but it's just an interesting sidelight to a deal for safety that now becomes the richest deal in NFL history. Yeah. To your point maybe not being paid for the intersection. So here is why he got paid Buddha Baker. Has Been. A Jack of all trades for the cardinals since entering the league in two thousand seventeen, he's one of just to players to log six hundred plus snaps at safety cornerback in linebacker over the last three seasons. The other is Malcolm. Jenkins. So last year alone Baker racked up one hundred and forty seven total tackles the most by defensive back in a season over the last decade. Meena. You hear those numbers you hear that Baker is now the highest paid safety in NFL history did the cardinals overpay? Hub It. But I I should say being the highest paid any position in the NFL is a little like being the world's oldest human. It just reflects the passage of time. If you think about it makes us he's not vest safety He's not even amongst the very top tier to me, but he's good at many things incredible at run defense great rushing the passer as you saw less. So in coverage I've seen people compare him to tire and Matthew and I see a world of difference for example, when target coverage and matthew a lot of passer rating of sixty seven had four picks Buddha ranked fifty fifth among safeties passer rating of one fifteen. So that is a problem area for them, but he does bring a lot of other skills to the table. Marcus jump in here. What do you think about Buddha in what he does bring to the table in your eyes? Do you agree with what you just said? No I disagree with me and I knew this day was coming in I'm glad. To see what it feels like. Being sometimes your value is tied up into what's medically your team wants to do. This is what both is good at playing on every level of the defense. You see the physicality taking the idea back into a run, and then that ability split out hero George Gidel and gets pass lake up and listen I know that's to place. But there's entire story that Buddha Baker Paints in order for Banjos of to be able to run the type of defense, he wants to think about this too. They drafted Isaiah symptoms similar player in the same vein, just a bigger body probably bring him off the edge a little bit more. So Buddha may have more those opportunities on the on the second. Level to get in front of balls and maybe pick some footballs off. There's a lot of plays that this guy makes but to menas point like if you look at it overall arching and we talked about it in the media and you compare him to the tire met US Jamal Adams of the world you may not see it but.

"I completely agree with that. You know listen there's a pocket of guys in the NFL that they're going to play really hard and do their job is good as they can because they wanNA, they wanna be successful, right they want to get paid. Then there's a great majority of the NFL that they wanNA play that harder prepare that hard play well, because of the people that are doing it with and I think the reality is this when you sit in a lock room and you share space with other guys that are brothers and sons and husbands and fathers, and they've got pictures up with their families, there's these intimate relationships that really start. To develop and the reality is I can't or I don't WanNa play hard with you or for you as a football player if I don't care about me and I think this is a perfect example of those players really caring about each other even though they may not experience it the same way they're not going to be numb to this any more, and you can say we will do something and then the opportunity to do something presents itself and you don't, and so I played for the Lions for seven years. I've never been more proud to be a small part of the lions. Organization that I am today. So Kudos to everyone there. You guys mentioned it and Marcus. I WANNA follow up with you on this the leadership of Matthew Stafford and maybe sometimes to me, it feels like it's been underrated. But as his teammate to watch him as your leader on the team stand up and say what he said today, what would that do to impact you where it just makes you fight harder for him and it shows a level of respect and level of understanding that he has listened this is. As I talk about sports and intertwining days that are going on the reality. The one thing about sports is it defines a lot of reality because it is different guys from different backgrounds that don't necessarily have an understanding of the way the people grew up and it forces you to be in an arena where you listen to those stories and they touch your front door quite frankly more than most people in public and that to Laura which you just asked I gotTa Give Credit to Matt Patricia as well. I'm hard on. Football and I, and I've questioned some of the things he's done this Fourth Coaching Wise Daria Slave trae, we from a football standpoint, but you have people have no idea..

"Get to it but there's a far more important story out of Detroit and that's where we'll begin the Lions canceled practice today to protest the shooting of Jacob Blake. Cell Phone video showed Blake was shot multiple times in the back by Wisconsin. Police his father says he's paralyzed from the waist down today. Instead of practicing the Lions chose to address reporters as a team in front of their building to deliver a message that they will be part of the change in the United States against police brutality. Here's quarterback Matthew Stafford on what the day meant to him. No football was talked about We were brought together and coach just open the floor. We knew they were going to be guys in there. That had heavy hearts and guys that had similar situations or close calls that have happened to them and needed to get it off their chest and and those conversations lasted for hours and it was incredible to part of just like it was all spring. but it was the first time that. You know we've we've really dedicated a chunk of time to talk about it when we're all in the building together you know we understand it about America and about. People in miracle is that. A narrative king, Carnegie shifty. We understand this sacrifice. You know. You might step on toes you might have some feathers but. In, order for change to happen or something to happen you know someone has to be uncomfortable in you. Know I think everyone inside these walls understand that understand what is going to come with the lasted make them with. A powerful statement.

"Com. But by the way, of course, as as you, you could suspect as you know, we alluded to earlier these are not protests in response to this guy getting shot by the cop there straight up riots that are going on right now and there is now a in Kenosha Wisconsin. They've been going down just smashing up businesses. This is still going on in Portland it's still going on in Seattle Denver has gotten worse and worse this is still a big. Problem and everybody who lives in a city anywhere now is wondering if this is gonNA come to them. That's a very reasonable concern that a lot of Americans have. If you believe in property rights in the non aggression principle, it's not too hard to see what side you would come down on on that. Are you with the people who are smashing up businesses, assaulting people terrorizing them soccer kicking people while they sit on the ground or are you against that? Shit. This is pretty easy for anyone to say, and this is why the Democrats don't WanNa talk about it, and for some weird reason, it's also why the Libertarian Party doesn't want to talk about it because then you can't just say we're for the movement black lives matter it's like, Oh shit real comes around and it's actually a little bit more complex than that. Oh. Yeah. We're against the COPS We think there's a lot of police reforms that are necessary. But this part of it is not a justified response. I you know I don't get why it's so hard to deal with reality, but it certainly is for a lot of people. Onboard. So there as as you mentioned, the Republican National Convention is is coming up and there is a huge opening for Donald Trump. To bring this stuff up. And try to actually address issues that that the that are asleep plaguing the nation right now like it's no, it's no fucking joke. and. You. Know I think that politically speaking this is a a huge opportunity for him. I also think it's a big opportunity. As, you were kind of getting at when you were describing the DNC. It's an opportunity for trump to just be more entertaining and to just have more fun convention. You know and which I think could help him a lot. The.

"They did rob him of his first term with a fake Russia collusion story they have. been running space rate date, racial narratives they're trying to tell people with that. They can't protect our own home against violent mobs. There's a lot of really compelling storylines out there that trump it actually right on and I honestly think they're gonNA be losing more political power over trying to run system these speaking balls narratives. Yeah. Well, you know I'll tell you it's like Lake. So Ron Paul, who brought me into libertinism brought so many people into libertinism like the guy who introduced this to the vast majority of of current could libertarians? She was started his campaign in two thousand seven running for the two thousand eight election and what he was addressing through two, thousand seven and through two thousand eight were the issues of the day. You know it's not just like there was some abstract thing like he didn't just get up there and talk about how You know I don't know like government licensing laws are bad or how you know what I mean like he's not just like talking about like inches get up there and say like. Literally on me says really. explained to us how a market pricing system works and how there's this real calculation problem in with government intervention like I mean he is not that he wouldn't talk about those things but he centered his campaign around the war in Iraq and the war in. Afghanistan. Disasters, which was a really big deal at the time and the fact that the Fed had created this bubble that tanked the economy like those were the issues of the day you had to talk about them if you were running in two thousand eight and you weren't talking about the recession and the wars that would be insane like how how do you not? Like Americans can see that these are the issues that matter and right now I mean again, there's a lot of issues that are really important that Libertarians care about. But right now, if you're going to be commenting on politics, you have to be talking about the lockdowns and the riots and to pretend are that like every American can see this in front of their face. These are the issues and you have to address them like I just don't even understand how you could try not to and the DNC literally didn't address either one of them. They just have this whole convention where they're not talking about what they're talking about. Much like the Libertarian Party is racism. Racism not even police brutality but racism as if that's well may one problem in this country right now. They went even stupider than than just the rate them because they went into a more just your good thing that the problem in this country is trump lack of compassion and then they just went into the sphere goofy talk of white teams and I don't know if it like comedy doesn't work without an audience because without the last it just feels stale I almost couldn't tell their shit was so boring in dry because there wasn't an audience cheering for it or. They couldn't even believe their own lies like they were trying to. What they thought were going to be epochs speeches while they were up there. They just realized like man that's stocks and why am I paying for buying and like that? That's the field that it had yet no I I agree with all of that. But I just think that like this is now a huge opening for Donald trump to be like, hey, since no one else wants to talk about I'm going to address the two issues that people like really that regular reasonable people really care about which is really affecting them and say we got to open up the economy that's what's happening here virus terrible but we can't destroy the. Country over it, we can't destroy the economy over. We've already done a lot of damage We gotta get back out there and get back to work, and the other thing is that these riots have to stop I. Guys. Let's take a quick second..

"You gotTA. Somewhat comply with a law enforcement and obviously I don't like the law enforcement exist I think that there's a lot of problems with the framework but at the end of the day, the guys out there with the going knowing that you know violence might come upon him because of his job and if he's trying to tell you, hey, don't move. You can't start reaching your car where they can't see as I mean and they can't be expected in that situation to do my mean maybe they should have them I or he should have been handcuffed sooner or. You know maybe there are ways that they could have avoided getting to that moment but you know I, it almost looked like they were trying to be hands off and give him his opportunity, and then once they entered into a situation where they had no reason to expect anything other than maybe reaching or weapon I don't know I don't really think you can fall Takata on this one. You know it's a lot of. Times I see. Libertarians particularly left Libertarians or or Libertarians who you know don't want to ever get called any of the names who are clearly very afraid of that. They will sometimes act in a similar manner to how a lot of the goofy leftists act like. Do you remember? We were talking about this a month or two ago when there was that woman in Minneapolis who was advocating de-fund the police and The Brook Ball Juror something lady on CNN asked her she was like, okay. All right. So no cops. So someone breaks into my house. I'm used to calling nine one one what do I do now and her response was basically like well I think that's our white privilege. That's okay. Well I guess you're just GonNa get raped and that's you know that sucks. But no cops like Libertarians. That's not our position. We may talk about abolishing the police or things like that. But we've got some actually pretty serious. Answers to these questions and basically it all comes down to property rights and private defense agencies and we're like, well, no. No. What would happen here is that whoever owns the property would be able to defend that property you have every right to defend yourself. You could you you know there'll be no restrictions on the weapons that you can own and there can be pre you know there will be some type of nine one one. It'll just be a private company that will probably work better than the government cops do like all this shit but okay, I think Libertarians might want to ask themselves look the cops were coming to a domestic. Violence a domestic assault, call the domestic disturbance something like that. So we're not saying there'll be nothing to do that. Right like probably we want have somebody there who will deal with domestic violence issues The Libertarian. Answer is not as Goofy as that left winger who called in fucking CNN who's just saying well, if you're being abused by your partner too bad libertarianism, that's not our point. So some private company might show up to do this. They might likely be armed, and if they're like, Hey, we've had reports that you were just you know assaulting somebody we'd like to talk to you about it and you Dr over into your car and like I'm just saying. I try to judge this the same way you would judge it. If anyone else was doing this, maybe the cops did something wrong here I'm just not seeing it as a black and white obviously they did it seems to me like, yeah, that's a really stupid way to handle. A confrontation with police and one that you could probably say as a very high likelihood of getting you shop. Also how is with every single video you never get to see it from the beginning. Always like I'm surprised that they didn't cut this one to just at the moment that they drew on. Imagine if that one hit the media where it was just the guy shot in the back but none of the context luckily wasn't that bad but it's still surprising that you know. They. Give us some of the story I. Want some of the build up and do these people know how to tell a story. Well. It seems like it does seem convenient that you always get that part and then of course, the media. Which is the next angle of this is like all of these, and these are major media companies that I just read. The headlines from right is our New York Times and huffing imposed, and BBC, and all these. They all make mention of the guys race. And I. I gotTa Say I just don't really see why this is irrelevant detail to reporting the news and. I mean, I like are you honestly telling me this? This incident was about racism. I mean, we still have no evidence at all that George Floyd incident was bout racism. It's not clear that they did this because the guy was black I don't think there's anything to. To. Even suggest that I mean it's not as if it was a bunch of white officers, it was a bunch of officers of different races. It was a white guy who is on his back, but that's hardly evidence that it was racially motivated and I don't now I mean if if the cops show up to a some white guy over a domestic violence Disturbance, which happens all the time and he doesn't follow the cops or to the point that they have guns drawn, and then when they have their guns drawn, he darts over to the driver side of his car and reaches in my guess is the exact same thing is going to happen. Now again, that's not to say that cops treat white people and black people the same in every instance, I just don't see any evidence that. It had anything to do with this particular case, and the other thing is like in the moment that we live in, you have to think that these people these reporters in the corporate press they know what this is going to do i. mean you know what putting this out there as a racial story is going to do and it seems like at best they don't care about that and at worse they're intentionally trying to provoke it. I don't know 'cause especially on in this news story long. I really think they're. GonNa end up, losing more political power than they're gaining, and maybe this is a decent segue but I'm looking at some of the lineup there. Trump has for the Republican National Convention include that. CNN includes the two people that were outside defending their home is and he's really going to get out there and paint the picture of like, Hey, look at Real America what the what the media media's doing and look at how they won't protect her cities while me and bar rounding up criminals that they're leaving out there I it I mean it's amazing I guess degree by which they're trying to get all hands on deck for the propaganda machine. and. It's almost like what you've been describing for a while with the trump derangement syndrome is that sometimes they actually push that stuff too far and I think what's going to make the RNC so compelling that while trump is bad he does have a lot of truth on his side..

"A brand new episode of part of the problem I am the most consistent motherfucker. You know the Libertarian to puck that one's GonNa stick for a little bit and I'm joined on the phone by the King of the Cox Robbie, the Fire Bernstein. Why? Why are we not seeing your beautiful face? Today Rob. It's the people at optimum. They're they're they're shutting down my Internet, they won't provide what I paid them for I mean th this is insanity. Dave. Smith I'm going to war with optimum out the fans will join me and my caused. Well, we are largely an antiwar crowd, but we we work off of the just war theory. So I think you I think you've got a strong case here for war on. It, there's one. you know pick up your arms about I don't really WANNA start a violent war maybe more of like one of these twitter things they get people canceled the raping my bill and maybe I can start that. What happened is your Internet out completely. Well, it's been real flaky since I got it and then I finally hit them up to say, Hey man my internet not working and they're like send a technician but we ought to charge you for that and I'm like why are you charging me to figure out why your service doesn't work and that talks about an hour and a half, and now I'm going to the Internet and starting a fight that's a war. David Smith. All, right I'm on team fire in this war on. Solidly behind you But yes not if that means it's violent that I will I will not be around for now. We're GONNA go a nonviolent war against optimum until my internet sounds good. Sounds good. All right. Well, we'll get this figured out by the next podcast, but I'm glad you could find a way by phone to join. US Because there's there's a lot of shit going on in the world. and. I'm referring to what is happening right now in Wisconsin in Kenosha Wisconsin. Town that not too many of us were familiar with. But. Look I. said this a while back on the podcast. You can go back and listen to Dave the Prophet to. PUCK Calling this but I was like look what's going to happen. The next time some black is killed by the COPS I mean we're a country of three, hundred, twenty, million people. There's millions of cops out on the street. There's tens of millions of black people is probably going to happen at some point, and if one happens before the election, you're probably going to see another. Type of George Floyd response and. I guess this guy is dead. He's in critical condition but a guy was shot a seven times by the cops. So I WANNA get into that in a second but I did just want to say kind of. In terms of of the bigger picture because that's what I do here. It seems to me. That, there are two major issues going on in the country right now that can't be. That anybody who who wants to be in the political conversation at all needs to be addressing with seriousness and the two issues are the lockdowns and the not. So unrelated riots going on around the country. There were. I. Mean. At the DNC and I just did a recap episode on that but I haven't talked to you about it rob. But at the DMC, there was basically no mention of either. I mean they talked about the virus but they certainly didn't talk about the lockdowns I. Mean They talked about the economy being bad in basically blamed it all on trump but. Bringing. Biden's bringing light impurity in the universe. So Go Away that's right he will always side with light and never with darkness this tweet the other day just Unbelievable. But. It seems to me that there's a you know in a lot of ways. There's a huge opening for trump out of all of this but what what Americans need an and what any leader would be providing right now is at least well, you'd have to have plan for both of these things. We can debate what exactly the best plan is to not even address these two like major issues across the country right now people are. Just decimated by the lockdowns, the economy has been absolutely destroyed and it was done by the government intentionally. Charitable and saying they did it intentionally to contain a virus a it. It was done intentionally by government programs and the other thing that has to be dealt with is the fact that there are these riots all over the countries. And we're seeing more coming. I gotTa say it just particularly drives me crazy that the libertarian party doesn't seem interested in addressing either of these at least with any seriousness and I know there's people out there would tell me like that. I should stop bashing Libertarian Party but I'm not going to I'm going to continue to as long as they continue to fuck up and I just you know I think it's like I thought about it. I was considering almost like maybe I'll just stop talking about the Libertarian Party stop talking about Joe Jorgenson and Spike Cohen, but I just think that when they fail. And they will when they they squander this moment when they get less votes than than the libertarian ticket last time got has just pathetic, and then when they don't see this moment to introduce a lot of people to the ideas, I, I'd like it to be known what? In this moment of where. You, know. Where you have I, don't know I don't know what would be an easier libertarian Message. Than the government just wrecked the entire economy and we need them to stop doing that we want freedom. We want free markets. So it's just seems pretty obvious to me. But they're they're tweeting out things like this..

And when I was a kid and we would travel to Louisville. That was the big city for us. So when we would want to seem like the trip from Verse Sales to Louisville seem like was all day trip it was an hour. An hour away from where I grew up. But as a kid who never really drove for an hour like we we hardly left town when I was a kid you. Know, the trip to Louisville seem like man this place is a long way away but it's really it was literally only an hour away which in New York it could take you an hour to go ten miles from from. Brooklyn but had but back then. It just seemed like it was forever away and today and yesterday to be here. With the Family Brianna Taylor and working with my friends, the brilliant activists and organizers of until freedom. OUR ORGANIZATION GRASSROOTS LAW PROJECT IS HERE Myself and Lee Merritt here to. To support many families, including families that we represent at the grassroots project. Many of them will be here today. We're having a press conference with the Family Brianna Taylor, the team from until freedom and others to. To continue really to demand. Justice Brianna. But. Yesterday was yesterday was different. It was a beautiful day the weather participated. And we had a community barbecue that was put on by the team anthem. At until freedom. And all Brianna family was they're happy and light hearted. BRIANNA 's both Frank Kinney and all of Kenny's family was there. Having a phenomenal time. We we laughed we joked You know everybody was able to let their guard down there was music and food and and giveaways, and it was just A. Beautiful moment. But in In the, background, of my mind. Of course I talked you know frequently with the fit with his family. Kenny Kenny's family. And so in the back of your mind, even though you're listening to music you eating barbecue. And it was a super super. Sweet time and everybody was happy. But in the back of your mind you know. You're there because police murdered somebody. And? Literally why were there at the park? You know it's I'm their. Civil Rights, attorney Lee. Mary my friend and brother with air. To Meka Maller is there. Linda Sarsour my son Angelo. From until freedom. And when people are killed by police. They reach out to us. So here we are. Trying to have a moment. Where we love on celebrate. This family this community has so impacted by police violence. And people from Kenosha. Wisconsin. Again reaching out to us, I have to be frank. It reminded me of when people reached out to me six years ago from Ferguson Missouri in fact. Yesterday Toy Russell who was a frontline organizers activists from Ferguson was there with US yesterday? And when people from Ferguson started reaching out to me six years ago after the murder of my Brown. I remember thinking like I've never heard of Ferguson. and. I don't really know that I've heard of Kenosha is A may have seen it before maybe I don't think so and I didn't even immediately know where it was, but it's it's about forty five miles. South of Milwaukee and It's it's really between. Visit Drive that people take all the time between Chicago and Milwaukee. And it's not not halfway but almost halfway between Chicago Milwaukee closer to Milwaukee. And it's on Lake. Michigan. And people began reaching out in an attorney from Kenosha restyle people who lived in Kenosha started reaching out in people who saw my workin and lease work and the work of all the until freedom crew. So. Almost. Immediately we all just begin getting DMC text messages and emails saying. Something horrible has happened here Kenosha in they sent us this video. And at the time at first, we didn't even know. We didn't know the name of the brotherly eventually people told us the man's name was Jacob obviously we later came to know Miss Jacob Blake. And like most of the country. As I saw. A police officer. Grab Jacob in shoot him. Seven or eight times in his back. My assumption was that Jacob Stay? and. I couldn't imagine any other scenario where he wasn't dead and. Family and friends. And and an attorney working with the family of Jacob Blake. Eventually reached out to us and said, no, no, he is. He is fighting for his life. They sent Jacob Corner Life flight from Kenosha. To Milwaukee. And what's wild is. that a city like notion. Has All the money all the resources to. Shoot this man. Doesn't even have a hospital with the capacity to care for him. and. Thankfully they were able to. Just couldn't believe that he made it. You know thankfully he was able to make it. To the hospital. had emergency surgery. There in Milwaukee at a at a trauma center that's capable of handling. Gunshot wounds. Having worked on hundreds of cases over the years. Most hospitals are. Trauma, centers. That are highly skilled at handling gunshot wounds. Gunshot wounds are brutal. They. Rip through flesh and bones and organs, and a lot of places just don't have the teens. The. Blood systems.
