Denver, Jacksonville and I'm thirdly Kansas City Open of the season, where they have reduced capacity and the Dallas Cowboys. "Next with Green Air your grievance. Great How you don't longtime fans, So my grievances really towards the fans in the NFL this year, we are backing out after two games and getting out over on everybody. So diehard fans. We have Philip Rivers here in India, and they talk trash about our defense last week, But what? They didn't do it. Nobody said nothing. About what about Titan defense this week. How about that? I've heard. Nobody complain about people thinking about 30 points easily if Clowney wasn't offside or would have been called, Who knows they couldn't went down side came up jacket Photo one. So everybody's talking about Jacksonville McHugh Jr Fans fans. Let's quit talking. Let's enjoy. Let's understand that this is what it is this year's preseason games, Nobody was warmed up. Like Philip Rivers. Hey, I'm in Indy right there. So many bandwagon fans here. Everybody said Philips are taking us to the promised land. We lose week one against the Jacksonville Jaguars. What happened? Old crap? We should have went out. We could've signed camp. You know, we should have. I mean, this is exactly what it is. Tell it is who he is. We all knew it was going to throw interceptions, but it's also going to make plays downfield. So fans in the NFL. Please stick to it ride with your team, and I promise you at some point time everybody's going to get a little better and just stop trashing your team's It gets ridiculous. Right, Charles. "Doing a dance and getting into the endzone. Here is second touchdown rushing of the season 21 yards. That was his second rushing touchdown of the season, his second of the day, Tyler, a big day through the air and on the ground he ran for 67 yards, including those two toddies. He also threw for 2 86 and a touchdown for the Cardinals as the defense is all kinds of dominant on Sunday, the Cardinal's come up with four sacks of Dwayne Haskins him eight times and caused that fumble and the Cardinals get a win over the Washington football team. I may have just call them Redskins didn't mean to They beat washing football team 30 to 15. Don't look. Now There's other Cardinals are too and, oh, all right. Let's go to an FC self battle in Nashville, where the Titans were taking on The Jacksonville Jaguars. Both teams want no coming into this. When the Jags beat the Colts in week one the Titans held on in Denver for a win, and they would put a lot of points on the board in this one. And the Titans would get going early. Gone first down Tannehill looking to throw plenty.

"But with the cove nineteen rules and restrictions, they can't do that and they have elected not to do that chaumet felt like it was better for his team to. Get back home stay in her own bed bill move around walk around a little bit during the week instead of having everybody locked into a hotel. So interesting interesting development there, and we'll we'll see. How. That affects them as they go back to the eastern time zone in play the buffalo bills this week. So let's let's move on here and talk about next week's games coming up here we're going to start with Thursday night. And maybe not the most scintillating game, the dolphins and the Jaguars Owen to dolphins one in one. Jaguars. But that'll start us into Thursday so. Tell me what you think. Dolphins Jaguars I. I'll give you one guy that. We ought to be watching every single week because I think he's starting to turn heads and I. Started poor our data and I'm looking at Gartner Menchu's completing seventy five percent of his passes. Okay. fourth in the National Football League every time I look around the guy is just doing some really important. Now, he did throw a couple of interceptions last week that I think you know if he does a better job of taking the football, they're they're going to be a more games than not but right now he has the seventh. Highest Passer rating of any quarterback in the national football league in talking with many of the players talking with the coaches, the guy's got a good rhythm to the passing game. He gets the ball out very quickly. He's got a great feel. For the pocket in terms of his presence and the ball is out quickly and so as you look at it, the receivers for the Jacksonville Jaguars, they're all making place and they're getting surprise running game. This team is is battling a nearly came back to beat the Tennessee Titans. the Jaguars are playing very well, and he's one of the reasons why so I think he gives them a chance to win the game, and if I was asked you guys who's maybe the most productive are the highest grade tied in right now the national football league you might say hey, Darren Waller for the raiders after watching last night's game you know he's been targeted the most. He's had more receptions than anyone else. Yeah. But in terms of a guy who is graded higher might Koseki with the Miami Dolphins is a guy that's really starting to turn beheads He has the fourth most receptions but we have this tracking. We track yards per route run at is for every route that you're on even when the ball doesn't come your way you're on the field. It's a passing down yards per route run he second behind John New Smith of the Tennessee tights. Both of those tight ends are really good but pay attention to what Koseki is doing for the Miami Dolphins because he's putting up good numbers for their football team right now. I think I do think Jacksonville. Team I don't I don't think Miami is found. WHAT THEY WANNA do their at quarterback yet in fits and wrapped it in my love the guy. But. I just think that. I really think Jacksonville will dominate to game I. think There are a little bit of disarray down there. MIAMI. From a lot of aspects I won't get into..

"It's encouraging them and I think the stealers of third best team in the SE Browns. Salad tuna from weeks. Now you know what the formula's run the ball a chub run the ball that Karim Hunt. And then Baker. Mayfield is sort of a game manager. Don't make the mistakes. I know they're picked last week. Did a nice job up against the Bangles Bangles Jill Barrow. Shouldn't one week one. You lose that game week, too. Your offense line stunk didn't really have much at wide receivers. Joe Mix didn't really do much in the game. And for the Bangles to throw 61 times with rookie quarterback. You shouldn't do that to have no interceptions, though. In three touchdowns. Nice job by job when he showed me a lot, Tennessee I'm not a big fan of Ryan Teno. Through two weeks. He's done a nice job. I know he was not unbelievable up against the Broncos again. They probably showed a loss Last week. Four touchdowns when Henry wasn't at his best, too Nice job by 10, No garter Menchu. I'm not saying they can't be the number one overall pick conversation. But there are worst teams in the league, then the Jacksonville Jaguars and you got to be impressed with Garden bench is done in the first two weeks with the lack of talent around him. And Robinson's done a nice job, but the running back position last week over 100 yards rushing Colts. Trace your big Colts fan. Philip Rivers was bad in week one. And weak to my takeaway was more so how bad Kirk cousins? Wass? Is there any more optimism after last week with Philip Rivers coming from you, Mr Cole? Yes, in terms of the game plan if they do a 2 to 1 run to pass balance if they cause anger was like 40 for rush attempts of 22 Taylor time since Max out if they were on the board, it's Philip Rivers in small doses. Small doses. I could live with that, OK if they start throwing it rely LinkedIn Week one where he threw it 45 times. Culture in big trouble. Yeah, and quite rightly said that small doses Dwight Freeney bunnies. All of this said that right before the season. That's how you wanna Philip Rivers this year because They're not gonna ask himto the football 40 times that I did that in week one and you're right. And weak to it suited it much better. And they did drop a touchdown I saw in the game our rivers on a nice ball touchdown. I forget who dropped it. Me Why It was t Y. Yeah, I got it from two games to catch that football. There's no doubt about that Texans I feel bad for DeShaun Watson DeAndre Hopkins that that connection was dynamite. And now all the sudden you're Will Smith and fresh Prince of Bel Air sitting in the home when they take on the front of drought here, like where All my friends go, where all the furniture Texans are bad, really bad it all into that CFC playoff. That's the FC quarterback picture that we get to the NFC about to this quickly before we get to act on the update. Washington I don't know what to make of Dwayne Haskins. It's tough to judge him. There's not a lot of talent there. I'm surprised they're one on one. Cowboys back played well. Last week, week one. The offense was disappointing. That division stinks. They should win it. And I still can't believe that the Falcons choked that game away up against Dallas. I really can't giants Daniel Jones, He shows some signs. Now doesn't have stayed calm, bark to the offensive line. Still bad. He's got to work on the fumbling problem. Eagles Carson once he's been bad through the first two weeks. I'm still trying to figure out. Some of it is on Carson. But also it's the team that they put around him. Offensive line is bad. You don't have enough good wide receivers on that team. The only guy you really trust is that hurts with a big drop in week one up against Washington Miles stand. There's a nice player, Philly. I think there's going to be a really bad year for them. Cardinals. How can't you love what you're seeing out of calamari. He's too no offense has been awesome. Rams give a hat tip to Jared Golf and Sean McVeigh there to know. Russell Wilson looks like the MVP the league there, too. No 40 Niners. I don't love what I've seen out of Jimmy G the first two weeks, and now he's hurt. We'll see if he plays this week up against the Giants as they go back to MetLife Stadium. That's a team. That confidence could be fading with the 40 Niners, even though they're one on one to start off the season, just because of all the injuries that they've had suffered, and we'll learn a lot about Shanahan this this year, but all that he's lost so far. Can his system where there's still built well in the trenches, and you don't have elite skill position players. You don't have an elite quarterback. Can you replicate some success that you had last year Packers? Roger's been one of the better stories in the league, too. No. Bears surprised there, too. And on still not a believer, Mitchell Boesky. I want to see what he does up against. Ah, good team. I can't get excited, playing one good quarter up against the Lions and then barely hanging on up against the Giants. But given credit there, too. No Vikings Kirk cousins stinks. Renata 15 quarterback rating last week. That team's in trouble. Stafford tough The Knockin map. Patricia's defense can't do anything their own, too. And we finally get to the South Drew Brees. There's some concerns. Usually we see him fade later in the season last few years, first two weeks of the season. He's not been impressive. It's stuff that knocked them, though, until we do see Michael Thomas back with that team, Brady and the butts. I think they're going to be one of the better teams in the NSA. I really do. Goes to the first two weeks. They haven't been great. And I think you saw a lot from Brady last week where it's a chemistry problem so far with those wide receivers where he's thrown some really good balls and they just having quite or they're not in the right spot. Through the season, though I liked that defense. I like that offensive healthy. They're going to be fun to watch Falcons. I can't not Matt Ryan. You know, Courtney, you know when you're when you scored 39 points And I don't think they had to turn over. Teams were what 440 you know, now, their 441. Bad special teams. Defense is atrocious. He has been the problem. The first two weeks played well against the sea, Oxy, Oxy, the Seahawks and then last week, they should have won that football game up against the Cowboys, and only the Bucks could blow the game. Or only the Falcons could blow the game like the way that the Falcons did it, and then finally Teddy Bridgewater with Carolina. I don't believe in him long term. I'm rooting for him. I don't think he's their franchise quarterback has had a little turnover problem up against Tampa. He's developing a good chemistry and a good report with Robbie Anderson early he lost Christian McCaffrey. That's gonna be a tough year for the Carolina Panthers. So that's all 32 teens with their quarterback situation And this is that guilt show. Right here on CBS Sports Radio. We'll take a time out and will continue to roll with some of the positive when we return to know who's the biggest two. No surprise. We'll chat about that..

And the JAG Wars get more ammunition in the 2021 draft, in which they now will have picks in the first five rounds. Older White Voters Helped Trump Win; Now They're Up For Grabs
"Republican voters against Trump is Webcasting testimonials from older Republicans, voters like Joseph in Florida who say they're switching to Biden. It's okay that we voted for Donald Trump in the first election. We now seen what he conduce and especially what he can't do pull suggest more seniors are feeling this way. So NPR reached out to a random group of older voters who cast ballots for Trump in 2016. Many told us they are deeply troubled by the president's behavior. Marty Stan, Go is 77 years old and lives near Jacksonville, Florida He's not exactly the most trustworthy individual. Nor, in fact, does he always tell the truth. I definitely will throw out things that are absolutely live. And here's Doris Harrington. She's 82 lives in Des Moines, Iowa. I don't wantto judge other people, but I really don't think it's character is great, you know? Moreover, they're not my morals. We heard this again and again. A lot of seniors who backed Trump four years ago say they're really tired of his tweets. They hate his use of profanity and many rate him poorly on his handling of the Corona virus. But NPR heard something else from these voters. A reminder just how hard it is Thies days toe actually change People's votes. Marty Stan, go in Florida who thinks Trump's a liar. He's not switching to Joe Biden right now, at least For Trump. Doris Harrington in Des Moines, agrees. For all her misgivings about Trump. She's actually enthusiastic about a second term Trump even though his character might be bad. He is Supporting religious freedom, religious rights right to life. The Democratic Party are not a lot of older Trump voters told NPR. They life Joe Biden, but they think his party has moved too far to the left. This is a voting bloc that's far more white and rural than the country as a whole. And many told NPR they're troubled by Democrats embrace of the Black lives matter Movement Robin Tunnel who's 64 lives in Midlothian, Texas. Told us she thinks Trump is unpresidential and a bully, but he shares her views on race. I just don't understand this kneeling for the flag. I think that that is just Horrible and he would never do that. Trump would never do that. NPR did find some older white trump voters who say his behaviour has caused them to waver. They're giving Biden a serious look. Michael Barbone, who's on the edge of this senior voting group at age 59 lives in Odessa, Florida today. I would vote for Donald Trump. But the strength of my confidence is waiting, so it could definitely change. Pollster Robert Griffin says the data doesn't suggest a huge shift among seniors who voted for Trump. But he thinks it's clear there is enough softening of support to put Trump's reelection at risk. The reality that had happened appears to be confirmed by a lot of different pollsters. That's really problematic for him. But the polling data and NPR's interviews suggest this is one key group of voters still in play, still reachable by both sides with just over two months to election Day.

Old In an amazing and they're never exhausted or tired always pleasant attitude and the considered asexual right because there are so strong and they don't even need sex and nobody's willing to really them because they don't need have this. Physical pleasure or satisfaction lives. All of these other stereotypes? The only one that people went to focus on was the jets as I pigeonholing. So what do you think that is do you think that people aren't even aware of all these other stereotypes? Be Aware but I don't think that their sexuality is as amped up and I think that a black woman in charge of her own sexual pleasure is scary for some folks. We have a lot of shame I was personally told as a child to call maybe China pocketbook Zionist, governor. Yeah You keep your pocketbook close and you keep it off the floor. Right those are the two things you learned and I was like. That's interesting. Why would it ever be on the floor but the idea that if you had his own sexual pleasure, your type of Ho, your some type of one time and. over-centralised homequote not wifey material right and so I don't think the other ones get as much play because they are somewhat more acceptable.
RNC Says Delegates Will Wear Masks for Charlotte Convention
"Delegates attending this month's Republican National Convention in North Carolina will undergo Corona virus testing and be required to wear masks Steve Harrison with member station W F A A reports, all 336 delegates will be tested twice once a few days before their trip and again when they check in. They must wear masks at all times, along with special Bluetooth equipped badges. That record where they've been. That will make contact tracing easier, says the convention's health consultant, Jeffrey Run. G. And it knows when other badges are closed to it on how long they are close to. Republicans had moved most of their convention in Jacksonville, Florida because President Trump wanted a full arena for his acceptance speech. The GOP then canceled the Jacksonville events because of the Corona virus, leaving only a small meeting of delegates in North
"It was January nineteen, seventy four, the future was bright or so I thought. I had just completed my formal education after returning from Vietnam. Only twenty two months earlier. I was ready and anxious to land a job flying for American Delta Eastern or United Airlines. My timing couldn't have been worse. The country was in the middle of what we were calling a fuel crisis. The airlines were not expanding. With no immediate job prospects I decided, it would be a good time to pursue my airline transport rating later changed to airline transport pilot or ATP. Raleigh. Durham aviation offered ATP training, and was also assessment dealer. So I trained in a brand new Cessna three, ten q immediately after my check ride, the airplane was sold to a business in Richland's Virginia. A day or two. Later, the salesman who sold the three ten called and asked me if I would be interested in a job flying a beach baron for a business also based in Richmond. Virginia, the pilot currently flying the baron was going to work for the company that had just bought the three ten. I said I was interested. So he told me to catch an early flight the next day to Tri Cities Tennessee where the pilot leaving the job flying the baron would meet me. I arrived early the next morning. The pilot from Richland's was a nice guy, a couple of years older than me. He had come to the United States to attend flight school and build flight experience with plans to return to Denmark and fly for the country's airline. We departed tri cities with me at the controls and headed for. RICHLAND's I. had not taken the time to familiarize myself to the area. So I simply followed his instructions. Arriving over richland's a short time. Later, he advised me to begin my descent and start a teardrop turn to the right. He explained that we had just passed over the town of Richland's. He knew that because he had tuned in the AM radio station located in downtown Richland's on the ATF. He said I needed to maintain a seven hundred and fifty feet per minute descent while turning. As we entered the clouds, he told me to tighten the turn. I was already in a standard rate turn, but I complied, and we soon broke out of the clouds at about a thousand feet above the ground with the small town of Richland's in front of us. That's when it dawned on me. We had just descended between two ridge lines and into valley. I asked the pilot if you regularly flew into and out of Richland's using this method and he said, he did he told me, it was no big deal. Just crossed the AM radio station on a heading of zero, three zero degrees and descend at a rate of seven hundred and fifty feet per minute while making a teardrop turn to the right. At greater than standard rate right I added. I learned the owner of the Baron had grown accustomed to operating out of Richland's even at night as long as ceilings were at least a thousand feet, not me. Once on the ground, the pilot wished me luck and departed around five PM. The lobby erupted two men and two women entered walking fast with the guy in the lead talking loudly. As. They entered the guy in the lead. Saw Me and said you must be the pilot from Raleigh. I acknowledge that I was So he said file for Merritt Island Florida and let's get going. I filed an I F, our flight plan, and we were soon off the ground. The owner sat up in front with me, which was fine until he reached up and retarded the throttles right after breaking ground. I, put my hand up to stop him. But he had already pulled them back to climb power. He informed me the engines would last longer if we didn't keep them at full power so long. I told him. I had learned most engine failures occur at first power reduction. So I preferred to wait until reaching a couple of hundred feet before reducing to climb power. It was certainly a debatable point and it was his airplane. So nothing else was set. We landed in. Merritt Island Florida at about eight thirty PM, I was looking forward to getting to a hotel and kicking back, but it was not to be while taxiing into the F. B. O., the owner said, okay. Go back to Richland's and pick up three guys that will be waiting for you and bring them down here. I was stunned. It was at that moment I decided I would not be taking this job. I thought I would do. As he asked knowing, this would be the last time I would be subjected to him. I refilled the airplane filed an Afar flight plan for Bluefield West, Virginia and took off heading north. Bloomfield was the closest airport to Richland's with instrument approach if the weather was good. Enough. I. Would cancel the I. Afar Flight Plan and fly visually to the desired destination. Not Tonight. The weather at the destination wasn't too bad. But it would be late and I would be tired. So I called ahead and told my passengers to meet me in Bluefield. It was a little after midnight when I arrived the weather wasn't too bad. But bad enough to require an instrument approach. I was glad I made the decision to meet my passengers in Bluefield. Putting on fuel and filing an IOF, our flight plan back to Merritt. Island took only a half hour or so and my excited and well lube passengers and I were off for the final flight of the day. After takeoff. The Tower released me to departure control about the time I entered the clouds. A minute or two after contacting departure control? I lost communications. All engine navigation instruments were working fine. Everything was good except my communication radios, I turn them off and back on. I, check the circuit breakers. No good. I. Couldn't hear the controllers and I presumed they couldn't hear me. My clearance was to expect nine thousand feet, ten minutes after departure. So ten minutes into the flight, I climbed to nine thousand feet from my initially assigned altitude. I had already changed my transponder to squawk seventy, six hundred when the radio suddenly started working after a couple of hours, I contacted Jacksonville Center and was asked twice who I was. Later that day I briefed the owner about the radio problem. He said I could take the airplane to Daytona and have it repaired which I did. After two days in Merritt, island, I flew the owner and three others back to Richland's Virginia. I rode with the owner to his office and he informed me how much he was going to pay me to fly for him. I, told him. I wouldn't be taking the job. He paid me for my time. Reimbursed me for my airline flight and had me driven to Tri Cities Airport for my flight back to Raleigh. Sadly. The story doesn't end there. A. Couple of weeks. Later, I got a call from the salesman who had sold the Cessna three ten. He told me the Danish pilot with four passengers aboard had flown the new three ten into the side of a mountain, just outside of Richland's.

Jacksonville teacher writes her own obituary before return to classroom
"Virus cases have borrowed the return to school in a handful of states, and they've raised questions in others where plans are still being made. Teacher Whitney Reddick wrote her own obituary as she prepares to go back to school in Jacksonville, Florida much I love my job so much teach Children with severe special needs. Trump considering giving convention speech from White House
"President trump is considering breaking another presidential custom presidents have historically treated the White House as a politics free zone but president trump tells fox and friends he's thinking of using it as a backdrop for his Republican convention acceptance speech in three weeks the easiest and least expensive and I think very beautiful would be live from the White House that would be an unprecedented use of public property for partisan political purposes I think it's a beautiful setting the president had planned to deliver the speech in Florida after the convention was shifted there from North Carolina but he's now cancelled the Jacksonville parts of the convention amid a virus surgeon Florida which limits his speech options Sager mag ani Washington
As COVID-19 Numbers Improve, Florida Considers Nursing Home Visits
"Being in a roundtable in Jacksonville. Meanwhile, governor onto Santa's yesterday discussed allowing visitors into a long term care facilities. Such visits have been on hold for the last five months. One of things I think we can do is Any family member who has covert anti bodies should be allowed to go visit the facilities. I mean, if you test positive for that, you know, we know that that confers ah, a certain level of immunity. I would be comfortable saying You know, if you do have those antibodies that you should be able to go in and see your family

"It's hard to spend a Lotta time outdoors in Jacksonville August aides had argued to trump in recent days that are more cautious approach would boost his sagging popularity cancelling the convention. They told him would also show. He's taking the virus more seriously than he did the last several months some white. House in campaign officials were fearful of the negative press. If delegates and others were infected during the convention. Trump also came to the conclusion that he would probably need to use. The National Guard to protect the Convention for mass protests that were being planned and to allow for distancing in the crowd. Advisor said the president was less than enthusiastic about an arena or stadium that appeared less than full many gop lawmakers had said they would not attend, so it was looking like a distinct possibility that there would be a repeat of the debacle in Tulsa. Then a Quinnipiac University poll was released yesterday. That showed sixty two percent of Florida voters opposed holding the convention in their state. The local Sheriff Mike Williams announced this week that he does not have the resources or time to provide adequate security for the convention, and then the city council started to present yet another obstacle for trump's points, it's controlled by Republicans but just minutes before trump's announcement cancelling the convention, the Republican Party of Duval County. Send an email asking party members to call their council member and urge them to vote. Yes, on allowing the convention during a vote was scheduled for today. This is a striking reversal, because trump has repeatedly mocked democrats as recently as last week for signaling that they would respect public health guidance by Scaling Back Their Convention festivities. Democrats plan to hold a four day convention in August that will be anchored in Milwaukee with simulcasts from satellite locations across the country and prerecorded videos. But delegates and party officials have been urged to stay home, and the in person crowd for major speeches, including Joe Biden's acceptance of the nomination will be very small. All of this is happening. As the rate of new infections has doubled the rapid spread of the virus. This summer is striking. It took just fifteen days to go. From three million confirmed cases to four million by comparison, the increase from one million to two million cases took forty five days from April, twenty eighth to June eleventh, and the lead to three million took twenty seven days the rolling seven day. Average of new infections has doubled in less than a month.

"Long were you in? Jacksonville will from the. I don't even know days anymore but I got in Lhasa. The first fights were may ninth correct than I believe. I got there may seventh and then I'm leaving. What's Today May Seventeenth. So I was there for about ten or eleven days. Just pretty much an book. You say in Jacksonville and I say in the hotel because you could tell me. I was in Jacksonville. I would have to believe you because I didn't venture out at old. Maybe just over the bridge because river walk just to get out of the hotel but I was basically confided in a half mile radius. Everyone was in at the end. We were slowly starting to lose our minds. Jacksonville is a also known as the city of bridges. Apparently according to our show many they many I told you I was texting batteries like I would walk to go over the bridge. Get A walgreens. That didn't he ended up not existing and like Bowl Times Oscar. Max The preview show to for nine. We got stuck waiting for the drawbridge both times. Because there's so many yachts and boats and I think there were two. There were four bridges. I can look out the window of my hotel four bridges so whoever said that is so accurate big takeaway from three by three hundred eighty. Bad Coffee Hella bridges and fighting. That's the three three things that made up. I wake the the good thing is that the vice were all actually very good I just wanted to get your impression of how How how it went free for you and for the fighters what you saw while you were there just in general. It's it's interesting because like journalist and the staff like we were pretty much there. The whole time and fighters would trickle interclub depending on fights even UC PR team. Would they like had they rote they rotate so it was like a group led to the pay per view and then they went home and then a new one came in for the Wednesday and the new income for so it wasn't they weren't just in a whole time So it was? I was seeing everyone tested pretty much. Everyone when I got tested tested within Henderson Danny Law Sankoh And then by SAT by Friday. The news broke but every by everyone had been tested but then Sunday after Zarate fights on new group of fighters Parmesan so then they ought to get retested so the lobby was always really full. But it was always. Everyone was spread out because most people trying to test the number markings all over the floor. It's tempting. I still have my tempting. Bryce law got to get ten chipped every single morning And then they just swap out your respond So if I say anything. It was efficient There were signs everywhere saying the hours you can check in. I obviously felt much safer staying at that hotel when I would anywhere else. Even though the potential risks of people having drawn buyers I I felt very safe but everyone was wearing masks. The only ones warned master. Bryce Mitchell and Sam and Dane those the only three people on our mass Even at the fights everyone was wearing masks light that the ring cargo of Bernie Palmer's wearing a mass buffer Who when they the PR person? Heidi was wearing a perk. As if you guys know. She's a huge fan of prince. She she had a purple purple masks the whole time so it was by the end of this these ten days. I think a lot of people were just really tired of seeing the same group of people every single day. It got pretty it was it. I can't describe it was brutal. Yeah because normally are wakes which we kind have our standards fight. Weeks was usually get there Tuesday really Sunday and that's kind of a rhythm fielded but everything went against everything there was no everything was just thrown off out. There were no. They were no slow days even selected Wednesday night. Fight Saturday and then Sunday like we still have work because you have all the posts fi stuff to do and then Monday I guess was a down day. That was pretty much alone because then Tuesday don't Monday was even virtual media day so we had all that ought to stay was Wayans. Wednesday was fights and then Wednesdays Fis Thursday midday Friday winds Saturday flights so like Bang Bang Bang. Bang you're just constantly during the same three days stretch. Basically Media Day winds fights media. Dave Wayans fights nine days in a row so I might camera women pretty much never left my bag but if anyone watched the way and show we were all just delirious. I can't I can't look another person's stand on a scale right now. I just can't as I have a question actually because we've done Over the course of our time working these shows within a couple of times when there have been multiple fights per week right Like to UC one ninety four three events week that kind of did this feel worse because it was spread out over a longer period of time. Or do you like. Which one do you prefer like like I rushed in our that spread out? I'm in in that specific scenario. I much preferred one ninety four because the the big title fight at the end like we peaked so early like the pay.

"Right people just that quick rea- right-back time that jump into Ma. If you guys been living on Iraq Dana White has been trying everything in his power to come back and bring the UFC back. The first live sports is what he wanted to do in the United States. And it looks like he gets his wish. You'll to forty nine this upcoming weekend Jacksonville Florida because Florida opened up the floodgates. And you do whatever the hell you want down there. Florida man is now Florida State. And not my favorite caught. Just running. Wild people are walking pet alligators. And do whatever you want down there. So Dana White's like you know what ask the place I WANNA be. Usc to forty nine was supposed to be two. Fifty is just a combined card of everything. That's pretty much been canceled. Trying to get the best card out there. Yes it is pay per view. So if you've got to scratch ESPN Pay Per view. If you guys WanNa drop eight I will not do to my obligations and the people who pay me tell you the bootleg this fight so But there's you know go watch it. You guys want to scratch your combat sports. We're here to talk about the overall landscape of this card and I wanted to start off with Florida itself. We we've seen this on social media. We've seen a lot of this. I saw a picture of this New York the weekend. Lottie states opening up people are flooding to get back out there. There's people all along the beach. Some mass them not mass. I saw the grim reaper on the beach. Shit is crazy. People are not waiting. It's hot outside. They want to get outside. They WanNa do it with their friends. I saw your your gift yesterday of when people flag out and corona virus. You know spikes that she had me dying What is your thoughts of now? Do you have seat going to Florida and then Florida in itself is fucking like y'all we're open for business. Get cracking a claw for this one now again spicy. Look man this. I don't understand like there was a report once. Georgia open their doors to businesses. That there was thousand new cases immediately and states. That are doing this opening a business and you look at Huntington Beach and all those idiots down there I like outside just like you to like everybody else but I will die over their shit so in the crazy thing is a lot of people is not real and for me is like the interesting thing is it starts hitting closer and closer to home found one of my friends in New York. She had been battling for the past two and a half weeks. I don't even know and my cousin. His his best friend from high school just died of Krona virus and his his sister's father died across the virus. This just in New York New York is never going to be the same again. It's going to be a long time. I drove through New York like a kids but we kind of bubbled like we never left the wit But we drove through New York. We have like the sanitizer and the Lysol spray but we drove down all the way through the city down. The West Side. Upper East side took me forty minutes. It's crazy to get from the criminal Bronx all the way through all the way back up because a just a story is at checking my grandmother grandmothers in New York in the apartment. She's by herself. So I gotta check on every weekend so a mealy kids went down that we quarantine for like ten days here in the crib and now we feel good enough to go and check on her tonight. Get her sick so bring her groceries all this stuff. I'm like yeah we're just GONNA drive down in through the entire city. Empty drove down through Times Square. Drove down Broadway no the WESTSIDE EV. Central Park Empty. The middle of Central Park backed. The hippies are out not many people look like you and I everything else dead ass. Empty crazy yeah so I mean at this point is the. Us's going to hold events a Florida and again if y'all wanna go fight cool. I'm going to watch it on the entertained from a distance like people keep asking. There's a bunch of shows already this week on. Uc to forty nine. He asked me if was going and I was like no and it was like would you go and I was like no. You don't care no don't give a shit and they're serious to me like I have a family to come home to my is running that risk all the that I don't know that's how the virus spread in the first place. It's not like everybody's coming from the same place everybody's coming from different places across the United States to come and fight and then after they lay on each other for five rounds three rounds of whatever it is and you get cut man sick and then you take your plan and you fly back then you give it to your family or you quarantine what they're doing but I'm good man straight out like I want no part of this so if they want to enjoy fine me. It's like stay home because we despite y'all really not gonna go outside so crazy man. I just stay away from the whole situation. I don't understand why people can't stay inside. Ain't this is really not like I. I feel I don't I wouldn't go to a fight like I don't have to be around people to cover this does. That's the one thing we like. We cover this from home journalists. Who's been banned for years still covering this? We'd BE I. We can do the same so I've got to be there to cover these sports I guess a little more so with social media me doing social media and stuff now on boxing opens up and everything but you know what if it means two hundred thousand views in night. It's all good because like you said. I have the kids all this year. It's it's a different world so you can't risk it and we're not at the point yet where we're trying to wear skit not not is not not worth it. The juice is not worth the squeeze to go there. But there's a handful of fighters that are going there and are risking it so we have to talk about them an actual card of UFC two forty nine. They try to stack the card. I'd say a really good card top to bottom. It is maybe as not as top heavy as we've seen lately but I like it. I like the card. The early prelims Smiling Sound Sam. Alvie is on their SAM will fight every other day if you let them just so that. Yeah that should be alright. incentive luke as on their version. Nico Price is going to help you. Fight those early pre riot halls on this rone's on a free card. He's headlining review. Guess McGregor. What two months ago. So there's plenty of star power. We'll start at the prelims on. Espn just give our predictions throughout the card the star with Your Ira Hall versees. Jacques Yes sir. Start opening match up. I mean that's nuts like really like they should headlines a lot of you have see on. Espn cards so your home versus shocker. A Jockey is gonNA wrap his ass up in Pretzel. Because I don't I don't believe you're a hall is anywhere near being the guy. He should be still. He's not GonNa fool me eight times. You're not pulling the trigger that one spinning back kick was hooking dope but at this point he was lucky. It was lucky. Not 'cause you landed lucky 'cause he threw it so I don't believe in your only think John Kerry wins dockery. They're not even the same class via. Oh well one thing first of all like I've done a few interviews the most iconic did you see you see two hundred. The answer is no like people fill out at. The top ship. Fell out of that matter. 'cause you go you had a man news tate. You had Daniel Cormie versus Anderson Silva Brock Listener. I did like I mean you had the card was loaded from top to bottom even without John Jones versus DC. You came Velazquez verses. Travis Brown opened the pay per view. That card was loaded. That was stacked. This car is solid not I mean. There's no bigger card. I mean how can be most Akron? Ufc history and it doesn't have to be connor. John Jones on him like how. It's a good car again because the top is in stacked the May the bottom tomatoes stacked the top. Just got that that To finish it off. I'm just it's a good like this is a really good car. But you have an interim title fight headline like go back two hundred just real quick Nunez versus take lizard versus hunt Korver Silva Aldo vs Eggert Alaska's versus Travis Brown. That was your main card. Your prelims was Giuliani Panthers. Cats and Gano Kelvin gasoline versus Johny. Hendricks T. J. dillashaw field of sunshine. Sage Northcote we're in reggae Martin. Joe Lows on Diego Sanchez. Gaidar saucy was on the fight pass prelims against Yago Santos and Miller versus the fireball. Kid Takanori going. That is one of the most stack cards see history. This doesn't equate his crazy. This is a really good car. It's not the most day they're trying and I get it for marketing purposes. Fantastic not the most card anyway you versus Jock Array Look I. I can't be fooled with your eye all anymore. I think it works with certain fighters. It doesn't work. Which Agree Jack? Raise older now so you know if it was another opponent. I'd be like Oh probably but maybe you can catch him. Yes the reality is. Is that even jockeys. Last few fights lose against top guys. If you look at Your Ira Hall. His last two wins against Antonio Carlos Junior and Bevin Lewis who kristof. Jack was another win. Okay he lost the GEICO. Mussa's dared Brunson and robbery whitaker loss. All those guys. His biggest winning his career was when he stopped Gig. Arbu Sassy and then Geico came out there and just stop them in the first round. Pissed off gator. Your is not that good and okay to say like do that. Ultimate fighter finale or the ultimate fighter season. He lost finale against gasoline. That sees it was seven years ago. That guy's never shown up the guy that you think is gonNA show up. You never shown up so yeah I think Jack really the stops them because your house very susceptible getting knocked out or them out. One of those two things is going to happen unless you're hottest channels like he goes super saying on a Zachary like we never seen before but taking. Yeah this is Jacqueline. Yeah jock raise not championship caliber right now. But he's not your Araya Hall floor. Either he just has too many weapons so I think Borak there And to be said I like this card for a lot of the underdogs are you doing. You're betting show again. I did it. I recorded two and a half hours of bidding shows today. Just say you've got to bring it back right. Yeah Man I was tiles again. All right another one like excited about this stuff coming and I'm not done. I got more of this week but again I've been doing. Ben Shows already. Yeah I feel like this is a good one for the underdogs the entire night next fight cookie monster Congress versus Michelle waterson actually like this matchup. impairing them. I just think Esparza you know what the first champion in that division in the UFC. But that was her peak so I'm going to take waterson to win. If there was an anthem weight. Division waterson would be king but she's fighting or queen. Excuse me But she's finding up in weight so I think she's still a top five fighter night vision and she proves absolutely not while this is not a top five Straw week. Waterson cents dog. She's not she's not Carlos bars is going to put her on her back in. Kreindler out. For three rounds. It's really simple. Watterson doesn't have the power to keep spars offer and Carlos spas the cooking. Moss was one of the most disrespected women in the AFC period. She was a champion. She Lost Joanna. Okay that's fair because you're not as a beast with the hands. Well then Carl Spas just beats up on people and she just puts. It's not fun to watch. But she beat Rosenman Eunice like she's only lost two Tatyana.

He looks at it and he is extremely pissed that I did not put put enough effort into saving the environment. This is the only time I've ever seen my father care about the environment because there's a chance that might get us back home. And that's how people become Floridians that and I got a Dui and I'm seventy now hey holly closes out with your Florida disaster. I was GONNA go with time that I drank aftershave on band trip on a dare But that's methyl alcohol don't do that But apparently some of y'all haven't heard the crossbow story which did not happen to me me but happened to a cousin of a former aide. ESPN contributor and I just ended up writing the story And so I get to tell it now. Apparently this is one of those Lakeland clowns like out.

"Observer. podcast Phillips December first two thousand nineteen. We got a Christmas present in early win against the Jags beatdown against convincing win. Yeah you thought they might have a chance starting in the third quarter and they tain Gardner Men's shoe and he does have kind of an energy about him but it wasn't enough to scores eleven points. We held them to well three okay. Does it count. If he gets into point conversion as a score I guess but you don't you don't count extra point though in in any case eleven points eleven points all garnered in the when. When do they get their first field? Goal third quarter. Yeah we were up twenty five zip with is one of three left in the second chord. Twenty five that's a long biggest we had all year. Thank yeah and they did hold us to three points in the second half well the old box would have given up leave right. The offense really needed score any more points. The defense just needed to hold them and keep them from scoring points. This is is the new bucks we win Games. We should win beat up on bad teams the Jacksonville. Jaguars came into this game with the same record we did. But I heard there on a four game family streak makes it five now. I think this includes tonight fun. Game to watch all kinds of good stuff and beat Vale. End Up in the fall back. Position Block for Peyton. Barber for a touchdown have lot of interceptions. Fumbles sacks turnovers Devon. Wyatt had a touch had a he had a good game. was that a picnics picnics. What was the touchdowns that on fumble picked it up and then also had a fumble recovery? It wasn't a touchdown. But he's got what three fumble recoveries on the season. Two of them are for touchdowns at least that's what I recall. Yeah three fumble recoveries touchdowns gave me mad about that now. He's all is a really good football day book near Fans who congratulations. You showed up to Jacksonville. It was nice to see more Tampa. The fans in the stands and Jacksonville fans at least look like more. The rate stood out more. We turn out not only. Did we win today. Carolina last redskins. Yeah that puts us at second in the Division Division. Say we're fighting New Orleans for the division title. What to do they're yeah? I don't think I'm I'm pretty sure we have to have Minnesota lose out and we gotta win out if that happens. We're into blow but that depends on Minnesota losing that. I'm pretty sure they have to lose out once they if they win a game and we're a think do they play against tonight Seattle. Clark yeah so this is is important to us. That's what's fun about this time of year is when you're in the playoff hunt other games manner to you just for fantasy football purposes exactly. We had a little more mistakes than I would have liked. He didn't have any touchdowns but he also didn't throw an interception so that's a big one right there. He was sacked four four times but there there were a few times when he fumbled. He had the one fumble two fumbles one fumble and we lost it but there was one point one sack doc I think where he was scrambling and Roggio ran into him. I saw you pointed it out to a couple of sacks I saw was the offensive. John was the running back to Howard missing blocks so I look at that on tape see. How many of those sacks off at alarm Jay Howard had a good game today day in sixty one yards on five receptions? Isn't the Jacksonville the sack leaders in the league. Something like that. Now they're sevent- they're tied for seven to the browns actually but here's would electives. Game slid away. Even though we haven't twenty lead and I can tell the narrators narrators commentator. I I actually said that you can feel the momentum shift in the stadium and I was like yeah. It's a bunch of Buckner fans and they're all thinking. Oh here we go again. WE'RE GONNA lose kidding with. I never felt threatened in this game at all. I did a little bit. I felt like they were picking up momentum. There was a big reception by Charq Day. Drive forever down the field but they only came away with three so gardner. Men's shoe definitely has a different energy about him. The benched Nick foles. I think we broke nick foles. I think we broke Matt Ryan and I know we broke Cam. Newton and Julio Jones Julio Jones. He was out with a shoulder injury this this week that a sustained against ears defense played well today interesting stat. I saw last week. I haven't researched it to see where we're at now or even if it was true but we have not allowed a third and seven or longer play this year and we didn't in this game from what I can tell when I remember I was sitting there right on down uh-huh every time it was third and seven longer. We stopped them penalty yards. Books had eight for forty four yards Jacksonville double debt. They had sixteen but they tripled it for yardage at one hundred twenty-five crazy not allowed to give up y'all or not a good football team. You just throw that out there now. L. Dj Charq in my fantasy football. God's punishing moving ever played against the buccaneers. We Beano in time of possession. We had the ball thirty three minutes. They had twenty six minutes. Turnovers four to one. That was incredible. Did you see beyond that special teams play. They showed it on the broadcast they had Ryan Smith tripled beating the crap out of him on special teams. Don't go he is so whoa. I have never seen that before where they put three guys on one player to try and block you. And that's the return that they had. That was a good return because they were able to hold old. We really good special teams. Plays like when we were on our goal line basically in the offense later in the game and they held us to three now and we had to punt the ball basically from our end zone Bradley opinion punit it and it was a good punt and then they got a block in the back penalty. I think and back them up it was like they have started on the thirty yard line whereas before they probably would have expected that they had really good field position. Especially when we're putting from our the end zone that sucks Maldin leave the game with an injury. Hope he's okay. You know. I think the next play. They made a completion on Ryan Smith for for a chunk of yardage it might have been fifteen yards but we blew rumor veto blocking on offense. I love that I love seeing him on offense and and you brought this up that this week media were what you notice from the locker room interviews. Just everyone loves him in the Locker Room. He's like a favorite. Yeah that's what I've heard is that he's like last week. They don't bucks fan under podcasts. And we're talking about in the locker love the last week. That's all anybody in the locker room wanted to talk talk about. VW's touchdown just beaming from year to year cool and you know defenders have to be shitting themselves when they see him. Lineup offense. Yeah he drove that one and I think he drove straight backwards. I love the creativity. The trickery can't believe I can't believe a call at the beginning of the year. It's going to be a little bit better. When Gardner mid shoe came in you could just tell? Their whole team changed quite a bit. He's such more dynamic player but he's also more GONNA make a lot more mistakes he had at least two. Maybe three intentional. Grounding calls at work called one day which I was happy about but then there was a couple of others that were just completely blatant like man you know. I hate those intentional grounding calls. Sometimes I called some. Does he know we would add eight sacks. Yeah it'd be nine if they would've intentionally grounded. The ball and Nevada David called for that. Pass interference on fourth and goal as incidental. Omeday I mean what could they do. He's run he's following the guy. The guy stops and runs in the hill. Do Bullshit call and that sucks to because he was on that streak of penalties twenty seventeen. Oh that's right. Got About Oh man. Ref crew was a lot Anderson. They seem like they did an okay delve other than that yeah. I didn't really notice any blatant issues. He's the eagles lost to Miami. Tends to have the same record that they do. I think finding seven we're out in division with the Eagles. Those are in the conference with the Eagles in the panthers. All three of us are five and seven. The bears are at six and six cowboys are at six and six. The Rams are six six five zero plan now and then from there you jump up to eight and three of the Vikings bitings of the ones where they have to lose out. They are the last of the wildcard. Right yeah right right. Now it's forty niners saints packers cowboys sacred. I come in here for another saints. Packers cowboys than the Vikings seahawks those the ones in the playoffs. Brad now deceased and read now three weeks ago we were joking about US ducking it's now it's a serious everybody's talking about it. We can do it. I mean it's a long shot but we can do it. We got a good team. It's one game to watch coach. That's what's important very entertaining. It was for Jacksonville fans. I'm sure but there were a few times when we could have given up the lead when not give up the lead but give give them a chance. Yeah that was one of the most impressive things about this game to me as we pretty much kept our foot on their throat so game. We didn't screw up and start vomiting allowing points to him and stuff. Yeah James only cost the ball up one no interceptions. It was just that fumble did it but it was ruled incomplete after the challenge. Yeah definitely hit the Ground Jones. Yeah we challenged challenge. It's turnover maybe. That was a different one. We will have have the Bruce Arians press conference at the end of the podcast here. If you're GONNA stay and listen to that. I'm sure he's going to be in a good mood. I haven't heard it yet. It'd be ready to get his drink on. He's probably got a couple elaine him already good win guest a bad team but we dominated like we should. I thought I run. Game would be more dynamic but we really didn't need to to do our best. Receivers were not at the top of the Bourne Permanent Howard. Yeah paramount and Howard today and then my Gavin's both had four receptions each fifty yards. It'd be three for my Godwin but look Evans was targeted. Eleven times in the only four. You're yeah for sure. Five of six for eighty seven.

"So you know especially we have other guys. I can do it. Uh-huh harrison you mentioned the season just tried to stretch him. As far as you can't feel your company sort wondering where he's reading the first couple of weeks yeah. I feel a lot more comfortable now that he can. He can take it back further than than he has in the past. You know we used take back fifty three now. We feel more comfortable fifty five fifty six you know so that's a credit him how hard he's been working in this consistency and his conference and he did he had it. He was mad at himself and he actually left it right now. So so that's kind of telling you that nested in there you know the guys pull it and they're trying to overtake it. He he finessed it and he still had plenty of distance on tells you said greg. Dimitrius airs wants last year. He was one of the top guys but he wasn't. He wasn't atop op guy but he was he. He was tight end for for total snaps. You got more tight end snaps on specialty than any other tight end in a league production points now but he was somebody mind though when that belt bells going to play and elder you know those guys gotta step it up and actually two to three guys possibly take his spot so that's chief special teams coordinator dave tobe from the podium. My big takeaway was the question i asked asked i just was confirming the returners. You'll see this weekend and that is true on smith as to kick returner and tyreek hill as the punt returner those your top guys. I'm interested in seeing what happens. When the anthony thomas comes back next week don't forget he's suspended this week because of the marijuana possession and the arrest and so on and so forth wants wants to chiefs activate the anthony thomas. I just wonder what the future holds for trauma smith because again he's been changing positions. They now have them listed as a cornerback. I don't know so if he stays in this roster that remains to be seen but we won't get to that until after this week one game it's the chiefs visiting the jacksonville jaguars again the next thing you'll hear on on this podcast channel is the arrowhead pride game preview that should post sometime mid friday afternoon and

"And also the NFL draft Zach actually getting senior bowl credentials this year. So we'll talk about that Zach but welcome to Finsider radio. Thank you for joining us here on this preview episode for one of the most exciting matchups in the NFL this weekend. I really appreciate you having me on I feel like this pod is going to be a lot more entertaining than the three hours. We're gonna spend watching the game on Sunday. Yes. So the over under right now for the Jaguars verse dolphin stands at thirty eight dolphins coming out with a seven seven record the Jaguars coming with the four and ten record. But we know both. Offenses. No, no greatest show on turf on this Erade stuff. It is probably you know, some of the worst offense you could possibly see an interesting enough. Adam gaze of as we all know as we've all talked on this show ofensive group, but not so much here with the Miami Dolphins both teams ranked towards the bottom of leagues in all categories. Cody Kessler your quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars Leonard for net. Dede Westbrook actually coming along pretty nicely though with Kessler at the helm as we head into this game. Can you just talk to us mainly about the Jacksonville offense where does the offense the and right now what kind of threat do they pose if any what can we expect from Leonard four net? We know he's kind of dropped off this season with injuries and production and and on and off the field. What's the general sense? We can get from the Jaguars offense or when they go. Dolphins defense. Are they going to light it up? I'm just struggling trying to think of like a weapon that they even have because if they had one I'm sure they'd tried use it, but the offense has been pretty anemic throughout the entire season. Other than the first couple of games of the year where they had things rolling their way. But Dede Westbrook. I mean, he's been playing mainly slot. But occasionally splits out wide, he's turned into probably one of the best separating route runners in the entire league really really fast people thought he'd coming and be deep threat, but they really polished him up in the short game. And honestly, I think that's Cody Kessler best friend 'cause I think he threw it past ten yards last week more than I think he did it twice. So that's just kind of his thing that he tries to keep things in the short game and try and create yards after the catch. And it doesn't help that the Jaguars left tackle, I believe is there on their fourth starter their second or third starter at left guard. Second starter at center, and then the two guys that actually are still starting on the line that we're the start the start of the year just really suck. So all in all it's been really really bad for this Jaguars offense injuries have heard quarterback play hurt at the end of the day. You know, everything right now is hurting this offense that the ender bet the under the under this upcoming weekend. Sack. Thanks for joining us. I know Jacksonville doesn't have chance of the playoffs. All call the dolphins. Chances a Wylie Coyote chance. Have the over under of thirty eight. But what we're all forgetting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were real soft this year in their scheduled and schedule anybody from the state of Florida. So this defacto game between the Jacksonville Jaguars. And the Miami Dolphins is the battle for Florida. So everyone running into this game. But now, let's let's address the elephant in the room. Should the dolphins Jaguars? Just go ahead and have a coup may for a two quarterback. Because that's essentially what we're looking at. And have you had a chance to look at this quarterback class yet who do you like so far I have? And I think probably the most ready to play out the gate is Dwayne Haskins. And that's like weird to say considering this his first full year as starter a redshirt sophomore. Granted he is twenty one he's going to be turning twenty to believe the week after the draft. So he's a little older for kit. Seraing what class he's in?.

"But the fact that it matters as much as it does this time around really makes it special interesting. If you go back before the Jaguars came here. This was every bit as college football capital is Birmingham was. You talked about. And what was interesting it was. It was a Jackson. It was it was Georgia, Florida, Florida, state environment, and pro football changes everything then and look I mean this town now with this with Jaguars being a great NFL. They're very much bought into that. But I do think that you know, they relish in this game. They all our weekend. College football is. I've been thinking a lot about this game. And I are toward the side. And you know, sorry for Florida people out there. They're gonna be mad at me for this. I err toward the side of thing that Georgia comes out, and it had a really dominant showing I think the game may be close for a while. But I do think that Georgia is in the worst thing that could happen for Florida's back. Georgia got beat by LSU. They're angry. They've had time to think about it. They've had had time to stew on it. But the one thing is that in this game. And it's true for any rivalry game. You have to throw all that out. That's where I'm leaning right now, where do you lean when you think about the complexion of this one? I was talking to our good friend buddy Martin this morning on his show. And I know you were there as well yesterday. And he almost has me convinced Florida's gonna win the game. Convince you that Buddy's buddies very effective. He he he does have a good beat on what's going on. Yeah. And I don't want it like fully buy into all of that yet. But then again. We go. I'm just gonna walk up and down to tailgate party and just. And just partake. And till I I I have this piffling won't take long. Well, you know, the be halfway for the first drink laid out. I'm imagining you at the landing tonight. You just you know, we should go to the landing think. Yeah. There were I don't know his last year or the year before we stay no tell down there, and there was some concert that I wanted to go to. Three years ago cannot remember it wasn't last year. Because last year we were together. I mean, not. We did have better together. It was great. Well, I mean, just reminiscing about actually before we go we were in a party. We went to a party last year. But we both got invited to one of our colleagues one of our teammates homes. Haven't about who are Jacksonville truly not hard to come up with the the spirits. No. So anyway, the point being I wanted to go to this concert. But I'm thinking if I walked down there at ten o'clock at night, you'll never come back. I'll never make it to the show because I'll just be I'll be doing shots with ever done a shot. Wait, have you ever done? Have you ever done one? You look at me. Like, I've always been this boring. Stay boring. I think people who do shots are all of a sudden not boring or vice versa. Promise. You started doing shots. I'm anything. But. Out in the audience about an hour ago. You said man, you're much friendlier than you are on television. I said, well, that's. Time. Yeah, he's al- always actually doing up here is is acting. But you know, I just didn't want everyone to totally know the real truth about you. If people knew I was really friendly, then I'd have to talk to everyone, and no one would ever call into your show the show is conflict. Well, they say that a lot anyway. But let's wanted people one of the four to fans in Georgia fans been like on your show this week. I've heard sprinkling of few fans are very confident feel that to Georgia fans have a false sense of confidence. And they and I think if you if you looked deep inside they would say, we're a little nervous just because of what happened until LSU, which is understanding, but they still still do have more Jimmy's. Joe's Florida has then again that doesn't always win the game. I think they do just a death wise. I think they do. But Florida has a lot of talent. And they've played a lot better floors confidence. As a team, I get why they're..

"The Paul finebaum show. Best of podcast. We welcome you to Jacksonville, Florida. Yep. You know were here why we're here. And what we're doing about it Florida and Georgia will meet tomorrow at about this time and nothing short of an SEC east lead. At least for the time being Kentucky still out. There is at stake. Always one of the favourite Friday and Saturdays of the year. One of the great weekends of the year when we lay in right here in front of this stadium where they've had a Super Bowl where the Jacksonville Jaguars play. But we're tomorrow, the all the entire country will be focused on Florida and Georgia headline is pretty significant. Suddenly this has become a massive deal once again, and it really is show begins right now. Florida Georgia always such a big game. You're talking about joining states so much history in the game Georgia for passion. Pageantry neutral site a lot of energy to gain the decides lot of east most years as opportunity to stay in first place in the SEC, keep playoff hopes alive and in SEC championship soaps, definitely playoff game over one hundred percent, if you don't, but you probably are certainly know anybody can beat anybody in every game is east his. So that's the situation. And I I don't think you need me or anyone else to emphasize the importance of this game. I realized Kentucky fans are thinking. Hey, what about us? Well, Kentucky takes care of Missouri. Tomorrow in Columbia. They'll have a lot to say next week about the SEC's. But for now the eyes of the nation are right here in Jacksonville, Florida. Not the not the only story going on. There's a big game in the west why Mississippi State football faces another must win against AM eight having a better than expected season. Mississippi state. A worse-than-expected season. Joe Moorhead knows he needs to turn it around. Tons like these new after losses and suggestion boxes, cool and the answer that you pull out as always right with the benefit Han. So those play hard there. They have a lot of prime what to do everything. They got good players. You don't realize Mississippi State? I have a lot of draft picks on that team. That's very very talented football team in on this very very impressive starnberger rank first nip. Yes, mo- tight end and receiving yards in touch minutes FitzGerald. I know he had a couple of turnover last game. This guy to run the football field. Ran for hundreds of yards rushing SEC ditches quarterback over three thousand rushing not many tailbacks have that for the strongest Nicosia had thrown football. I kind of have to you know. Credit him the amount of times rushing ball when he's done for us. You know, it's creek arts points, but obviously stolis past gamer will have to go play on the road SEC game starve, oh the up late flight as loud as nasty, and they will be juiced up and ready to play tonight game player. Big game. Certainly state fans watching that one very closely their season is on the brand after disappointing start after such high expectations. We'll talk a little bit more about that game later on you listening to Paul finebaum show podcast. Son has come out some pretty day down here. Great weekend. One of the biggest the biggest weekend of the year in the city. And for good reason. Florida Georgia important games. Tamar Tennessee tries to give back on the right road after beating Auburn losing Alabama. They head to Colombia where we are met right now by coke. He'll be part of the broadcast team tomorrow night on the SEC network. Thanks to the time. So here we have the Tennessee trying to get trying to really make something out of the season in South Carolina, which it's a struggle a big win against Missouri. But that's not there's not much else. They have to show for. For an on their resume. What's what's going on with the the Gamecocks right now? Well, you mentioned struggling a little bit inconsistency on offense. Paul the inability to be able to run the ball has really hampered this game cock offense, and they're not taking the football away on defense at the rate that they were a season to go. So I think we'll must champ interviews Robinson the defensive coordinator have reemphasized causing turnovers. Trying to strip the ball trying to get interceptions trying to deflect passes enforce more takeaways for this defense. They can maybe help out an offense that like I mentioned not only not able to run the ball..

"I mean there have been so many. I think this was the two hundred forty fifth mass shooting just in two thousand eighteen. And yeah, I mean it's gotten to the point now where you cannot hold and event like this without worrying about how do I escape or how do I protect myself. I mean, that's if we're not gonna. Do. The other work where you know when it comes to sort of discussing gun control or discussing mental health then? Yeah, then we're gonna turn our society into a place where if four people get together, they each have to sort of go through metal detector right where where the opposite opposing argument is well, no. How about this? How about four people have guns like, no, that's actually nothing answer. Yeah, I think so. And it seems that, but your point, it seems exactly that we think of the status of these tournaments in the future. If they go on, they'll need to be full security metal detectors, which for anyone who was connected to this community. That's a huge constant. Remember when I mean, I know that what we now do at the airports has sort of become sort of common and phased out like you don't think of it as much as you used to. Like I remember back. I'm not super old, but. Remember when I used to be able to if I like a relative, I was dropping off. I could literally, oh, I don't have to take it. I'm just going to go Mel sector though. They what you walk all the way down. If you wanted to all that has sort of gone back to now like, no, nobody on this point now that, but it seems that with the security they're going to need to add, it's going to be every tournament with them. Leave reminder of what happened instead of really moving on. Yeah, and I didn't. You know somebody who sort of new to eastward. I didn't understand that that that magin despite the, you know how wildly popular and I contact the brand is, and the game is from an e sports perspective. It's kind of a sort of a, it's really a sort of small, tight knit group. It's it's, it's kind of it's it's, it's minor league ish, and it's they're sort of like this. There is sort of this sort of throwback kind of like small time aspect and feeling to these tournaments where you know any kid, any teenager who could sort of attend this, they're called locals like the one in Jacksonville, you know, could could become. We'll famous in in two days if he wins his term it and gets a spot in the the, the mad championship and and right away. That's what people were also warning about this. In the aftermath is that that part of east sports and that part of sports in general, and that part of Madden is probably gone forever. I mean, they, they realize they, they, they, the thing that's really cool about these sort of small time locals is also what makes them very vulnerable to something like this. And so you know, it's just one more thing that we've had that we will sacrifice because because of the bigger issues that we, we aren't brave or smart enough to to to change. Now in the story, you know, it seems that a lot of it gets talked about for what it was a mass shooting. And I feel when I read your story, but I didn't feel I read a lot of others was those who were shot. I feel that they were either injured or killed a little bit forgotten. I mean, what I mean in this seems like a close knit community. What did you learn. About the the Madden community through this. Yeah, I think I was struck by how immediately just about everybody who survived, turned back to Madden to sorta cope with. You know, a lot of these guys just couldn't in the in the.

"There's only cover up, so no one's actually really struggling and no one's actually really dead. But it just seems that it seems like that those two feelings are so overwhelming that they don't realize how much this infects not just this situation, but it's what's going to be the cause of the next several situations. I, I mean, I'm still struggling with this was a grueling dark and sort of big loss thing story to report and to to publish in. I think we had less than two weeks and there I had, I, I'm still sort of struggling with. It's just they're just, there is no, there is no lighter side of the story. There is no good news to report from the story. It's sort of it's hard not it's just full of hopelessness from David Katz and his family and his condition, and his background and the suffering. He went through the fact that he was allowed to even get within a hundred miles of a handgun. What occurred in that room, the pain and the and the the death that he inflicted. And then trying to listen to the how much the people who have survived are still suffering. And I think to a person still crying themselves, the sleep every night and struggling with survivor's guilt and then, yeah, on top of that, you know that that people would immediately start to troll the survivors online, and then the fact that clearly another mass shooting has sort of come and gone and has not affected any change whatsoever. You've mentioned that we're reporting this. You wondered in your, you know, when you took your notes, everything you wondered while this is happened again, when will it happen again and then it did happen. Yeah, I have to say one of the most chilling moments for me while reporting in Jacksonville was we, I went to the site of the shooting and was trying to get a look into the room through the windows which were blacked out, and I realized that 'cause I got so close to the room. I realized that I was probably standing very close to where Taylor Robertson passed away and you just, you start to you start to think about sort of the senselessness of that and and that's when I wrote down. I wonder how long in my notebook I just wrote down and not myself. You know how long till the next one happens. And yeah, sure enough. I hadn't even filed this story when the next mass shooting that occurred and Cincinnati so and still nothing changes. It's one of the things that also struck me is when one of the parts of your story when you talk to boats, like what are the lawsuits being filed? And then the restaurant was being told like we're being cited for dumping a quitter zoned improper exits or something like that. But it's the thing that made me found tragic about that was like, is that what we are like? You need to have these kind of exits, not necessarily because like wall of fire, whatever. But I'll public places you need to go in thinking that way like, okay, where can I get quickly if someone comes in here and start shooting? What's almost like that's just casually like, oh, I do need to think that way. Yeah. And I think maybe they're, they're maybe that's a sign that it's gotten so bad. We've started to change our way of thinking and maybe that will begin to to to shift the conversation. But the players that I talked to who survived the shooting, it was like, well, they were like, well. So what does this mean? Do we do? We have to have metal detectors now if five or more people get together or are these? Can we just not hold these kind of events anymore? And it's it's kinda like, well, yeah, I mean, that's kind of where we're at now..

"Respect Madden offers. Its top players is built on its strong sense of community and many say that to truly be accepted of player has to socialize. We rag on each other and we argue all the time.
