"This is what it is This year's preseason games, Nobody was warmed up. Like Philip Rivers. Hey, I'm in Indy right there. So many bandwagon fans here. Everybody said Philips are taking us to the promised land. We lose week one against the Jacksonville Jaguars. What happened class? We should've went out. We could've signed camp. You know, we shouldn't have. I mean, this is exactly what it is. Tell it is who he is. We all knew it was going to throw interceptions, but he's also going to make the place down. So fans in the NFL. Please stick to it ride with your team, and I promise you at some point time everybody's going to get a little better and just stop trashing your team's It gets ridiculous. Right, Charles. Thank you very much. His grievance is with all the airing of grievances. He doesn't like everyone airing their grievances about their teams and Charles. The one thing I'll take issue with is when you said everyone's team is going to get a little better. I have very little confidence that that applies to mind. We're airing grievances on ESPN radio, who is next, Robert? Robert, You're wrong with Greenie area Grievous. Hi, guys. There's something that I was once before you go. "Obviously, we're going to wait we're gonNA play things out but this team at final thoughts here they they really need establish identity fast we need to S- quickly To See, hey, they do this kind of well, this is pretty well, this is working well as two more this, we need to start to see these type of things that get us excited about the tea because again, this isn't the two, thousand, nine, hundred, nineteen they're not getting blown out at historical rate, but that shouldn't be our expectations to just be better than that right we should expect to see some sort of this talent. Then all these players who brought in, we're supposed to see this puzzle or putting together all these pieces. We're supposed to see some sort. Of Big Picture and we just haven't yet. It's frustrating because there's only sixteen games and I do want to get the most out of each one I actually strangely enough have it like having these rants I'd rather be renting about football and I think a lot of people do feel the same type away in terms of the Miami Dolphins and their frustrations. Especially when brand four has been you know this defensive genius and he's allowed thirty points in eleven of eighteen games. A reminds you Adam Gates it on the offense where they were just struggled over and over. And obviously they're positive we are not the Adam Gates led jets There's no surprise that you know. We still legitimately think Brian Ford is could be a great nfl coach Adam as this long window. This isn't like a Flounder Owen to fire the coaching staff and start all over I understand that. But at the same time, if we're floundering own five zero and six I think there's no signs of anything any sort of progress and the dolphins happened to win five of their last nine again, I'd be concerned I'd be a little concerned but you mentioned it we have a short week The dolphins need to kind of get things go you have to. Wonder. If maybe they use those first two weeks as a kind of figure things out as a preseason, and then you use the Thursday night game as a jumping off point. You see what Denver is doing with all their injuries there suffered the injury bug really has a hit the dolphins to too hard. Yet I'm going to knock on wood there you don't expect. So losing someone like Byron. Jones who is a great quarterback to? Dismantle your team, but it is what it is were on to Jacksonville the Miami Dolphins need to turn the surrounding quick and Josh I'm GonNa you know moving I'm going to keep picking it off to win games at the end of the day were fans. We don't WanNa, hear the winey you know this this and this at the end of the day I'm going. To get jacked up about the dolphins we're going to hope they're going to win games at if they don't we could rant about it on the negative side but come the weekend. We're GONNA be again I that that kind of sums up our buffalo bills summer yet you saw lot that on the field you see a lot of questions surrounding this team but hey. The story still being told. The stories absolute. Still being told like we said all off season long. You know there's no preseason these players they took these two I first losses they took it to the Chin you know. Kind of would have hoped to win one of those games against division rivals but it was England patriots and we know one really could expect Cam Newton to go out there and fall out the way did and then the buffalo bills a lot of people had predicted that they would win the AFC. So you're not to surprise you Kinda had hoped again to see them play better in different areas but short week Jacksonville. The guy turned together they gotta go out to the established run. They got to stop the run game and as much as we sat here and we said that we needed to allow Josh Allen to beat us with his arm. Got To find a way to do the same enforced Garner mentioned go out there and make those impressive place that we've seen from him. Again, we're GONNA talk about him and the Jacksonville Jaguars on. A later show in the podcast but just close the chapter on the Buffalo Bills. It is what it is. I think Byron Jones is out there. You know later in the year I think it could be a much different game between the two teams because this was an early season. A lot of things are slowly starting to come together and I think the dial dolphins seem that we see at the end of the year. is going to be much different than what we've seen over the first two weeks absolutely early in the season, we just WanNa see some pleasant surprises. We WanNA see some trends headed in the direction. Then when you become to the October November, they start to win games they start to win games decisively and we're not you know wondering Oh thank God this happened we want the dolphins to eliminate the games in a good way. Josh, you mentioned it. Right now recording this Monday night, we're going to try to get his podcast, the Monday night. Tuesday morning for you guys, Jacksonville. And a day after the game was saying Kobe, Kobe, Kobe Nice game winner by Anthony Davis and I also read that Frank Vogel when the team was Looking like it wasn't gonna go their way, he said. Someone go make a big shot. That's what Kobe Bryant with Theo and Anthony Davis did that stock up today said before says before the playoffs. I think he's their most valuable player. If LeBron could have won the MVP, the league You know, LeBron even play great the other night, he usually shows up and usually dominates. Training Topics of Speed and Power Development in American Football and Field Sports

"Hey everybody welcome to another show, so this one is a little different and instead of me, interviewing someone or instead of throwing out a Q. and A. and answering your questions I'm actually being guest interviewed by a guy who has an absolute stud resume in the field, and that is Josh hingst. I will say so. Josh I I meant to interview him for a long time now, but Josh flip the script on me and asked if he could interview me on a speed and power in related training topics for American football. When I say football really no matter what sport you work with it, it's this is really applying concepts of of speed bio mechanics for team sports so so American football team. Sport and really translating sprinting speed, and by a mechanic topics really into that environment the. Josh has a superstar resume. He's the head strength coach of the two thousand eighteen super bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. He's had past experience with the Jacksonville Jaguars the University of Nebraska the Atlanta Falcons as well as Florida State University. Josh multi talented, not only is he a strength coach and Ex Anna successful. When at that doing? A lot of work particularly with the Eagles in integration of Sports, science, and really being on the cutting edge there, he also is a sports nutritionist and has done a lot of work in the past in the realms of sports nutrition at some of his previous stops in twenty thirteen, he co-authored Athletes Guide to sports supplements out when he was at the University of Nebraska. I I met Josh back in two thousand four in Barcelona Spain, and it's been phenomenal to be able to stay in touch with him. Since then I'm super humbled. He wanted to interview me. This is like a it was a great opportunity to share my thoughts and put some thoughts together on these topics, but again just super humbling to be interviewed by a person with such awesome resume who I've been trying to get as a typical interview. Guests for this show so anyways we'll. We'll get onto it here just a couple of quick topics that we are. are going to run through is sprint a sprint, development and sprint mechanic development and speed drills particularly as it pertains to team sport. We're GONNA get into concepts on training foot. some particular concepts that I've that really stuck with me from a dairy bar that I've learned from him and how that Pertain Sport? We're GONNA. Talk about is metric, hamstring, injury, prevention and more. This was a really fun talking. I, hope you guys enjoy it so so let's get onto it episode to ten guest interviewer. Josh, thinks, and I have any conversation on speed and power topics. All I. I wanted to start off by Sharon. You know just the thank you for You know it's not often that you know people. Like me. Get a chance to thank people like you that you know that you're learning from that. You're progressing from. N. A just appreciated that. You know it's been a really good thing. I that there's others in the field like Mike in my shoes. That want to say that and. Yeah so I. Just I mean a lot of different thoughts. I mean. I think probably for me. You know I think you know a lot of the questions that you of have chewed on and and some of your interests. It's fun because I think we can all see where your brains at sometimes based on some of the people that you're bringing on the podcast with. Health or Of different things like that, but I think it's all really good good stuff, but I guess the first question I had is is probably one that you've answered a lot I think it's just more or less your take on some speed mechanics and running drills, and those application teams or seen I. Think a lot of people in my view. Shoes are like. Like well. We're not going to change that now. You know we're getting twenty three year old athletes in you know. Are we wasting our time in those types of things, or are you feel what you would do? You think that we can make make change. In how much time and energy do we devote to these things? Yeah, so that's a good question. I would say just in my time working with team sports in the running situation and thinking about it, and watching and observing as well I, think the I'll start with the good, actually because I think that it's in my nature to sometimes be a little contrarian as I was mentioning before we start recording I try to stay balanced. Try to really still like both sides of the equation, so with the common sprint drills as the bees, and whatever else there isn't all the marching type stuff 'cause I guess if we think of Sprint Joe. We think of a march. It's not going to fast horizontally. You're slowing the horizontal component down so there's some things in the vertical plane that. You can work on. It's all start with the positives I i. do think that there's always a bandwidth I mentioned this and speed strength, but I think that even if there's a disconnect between the actual mechanics in a marching bass drill for an athlete who might be a very muscular type athlete like they're very muscle driven they they tend to really squat deep in their movements, which isn't a bad for being a football player and Rennick Selah Rating. That's really important. But for someone who may not be in touch with their feet so much I think it gives a good opportunity to give them exposure for some of the vertical contacts ply metric in some ways so I I think that's okay. I don't have a problem with that I. Think it's the poll, the pole or was it dried mock or I think he's Polish when he came up with that stuff. It was really because they couldn't run I. don't know how many indoor tracks they had, and they just had to come up with a creative way to maintain. Muscle specific conditioning for sprinters, so if we think of if I'm a football player, a basketball player, and most of my movement is with a lower center of mass, and it's a little more specific to half the change. Directions quickly which I. wouldn't if I was a football player, I wouldn't WanNa really run like a sprinter because that's sometimes I think about if I'm spending more time in the air by nature, I need to the the the time for me to make a decision is is more or less are basically it's going to if it takes me longer to put my foot down. Now I can't change directions as quickly and I will say and I don't WanNa deviate from the question of sprint because I'm going to get there, but me and a dairy bar have been talking just in attract context about strategies to athletes run the four hundred and a lot of these athletes who are dying at the end of the race die because they don't. They can't switch strategies like they run one way. Way Whereas Wade. Van Niekerk does different things with his arms and legs on the Ben. The key switches strategy so this makes out I do think it is valuable for a football player or team sport athlete to be able to have different strategies, but I wouldn't I would never watch a football player, run and think man. You need to run as long as you're not running away. It's GonNa. Get you hurt. Excessive anterior till and the backside mechanics, poor backside macaques that come with the anterior till I. Get that we want to minimize those, but I don't necessarily need to see. Run same

A Turning Point: Race Relations In Sports

"It has now been more than four weeks in George. Floyd was murdered nearly a month since we all watched him. Take his last breaths. It feels like so much is different, but real actionable change that takes time. Many who took to the streets in protests have now resumed their daily lives, so now seems appropriate to discuss how sport will handle affairs moving forward. As North American teams and Leagues Continue Their Return to play processes. It is vital that the conversations and promises made when the racial issue was hottest that they do not go away. In a few moments, we will welcome in our panel to discuss how that should happen, but first a look at how we got here in the first place. He will have color have been argued about beliefs, and that's not right. That's not right by any was standards. The point he was making gut twisted from the start. The beginning when Colin Kaepernick I made is public protests peacefully heap I sat on the bench during the national anthem to bring awareness. There's a lot of things that need to change once one specifically police brutality. There's people being murdered unjustly and not being held accountable. It was the summer of two thousand sixteen, when he bursts truly used his platform as an NFL quarterback to speak out against systemic racism by police in the weeks leading into that preseason payment. San Francisco capper Nick had watched. We all had. To white officers pinning down Alton Sterling. And pumping. into his chest and back. He saw the traffic stop in Minnesota when Philander Casteel was killed in front of his girlfriend in charge. And captured it could not understand how mental health therapist Charles Kinsey could be shot by police when he was lying on the ground with his arms up in the air, people of color have been targeted by police. Cops are getting paid leave. For killing people. That's not right. That's not right by anyone's standards. And yet from the beginning law in. pre-game gesture was misrepresented and downright manipulated. The Christ came that he was disrespecting the flag that it was a slap in the face to military personnel. But when active soldiers pointed out, they serve to provide their citizens with the freedom of speech that capture nick was exercising. That narrative quickly was quashed when army veterans who had been in battle, echoed that very sentiment out of national football league buildings team needs I would be disappointed if any of our players didn't stand up for the national anthem personally. I, look at that as a salute to the people who have paved the way for us. Our Organization believes that. You should. Respect the flag and so you'll save those individual decisions to expression show. On individual form. And that became the prevalent message. Don't do it here. Stick to sports. The underlying tone. How dare you protest without our approval we're. Do you get off? Colin Kaepernick criticizing anyone in another uniform. Right the men and women lead for this, I- scenic. First hand. For. Somebody do that to get paid millions of dollars. It's ridiculous. Cabinet remained undeterred. United States Army Bet. Nate! Boyer who did tours of duty in Iraq, and Afghanistan encouraged him to kneel and not sit. By, taking a knee voyeur told him you show your respect for fallen brothers that way. So capture nick did. And then more NFL players followed. And yet the public and political conversation in the US would not steer toward police brutality. No matter how much star athletes peacefully attempted to. And the leader in America's biggest chair. Amy Shirley Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners? When somebody disrespects our flag to say, get that son of a job appealed right now out each fire. I! Capture Nick became a source of division for standing up against injustice. He hasn't taken a snap since that twenty sixteen season. And at this year Super Bowl USA. Today's jared bell minced no words on why that is I. Think it's pretty obvious. He's been blackballed for Colin Kaepernick not to have a job is just. It's the worst look for the NFL. No conversation was more dominant inside NFL. Locker rooms that season than the Kapernick one teams are made up of players of all ages of all backgrounds of so many ethnicities. If you actually want to listen to different perspectives. If you're an athlete who would want to hear what your peers had to say, there would be no shortage of takes to soak in. But fundamentally the want would be to understand capper knicks fundamental point. After George Floyd one of the League's biggest stars reminded us that many still didn't I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country. Maybe that was the crossroads moment because the reaction to. It felt like something had changed almost as. That won't cut. It anymore drew. brees in the rest of the NFL were told right away, the new. Orleans quarterback came under fire. The players in the league had just about enough of the establishment silence. They had captured message. They were not gonNA. Let owners and Roger Goodell get away with it this time. Would have other Jewish Knowledge George if I was. I was George Void. Jewish. And say hi in. Regard. To me right. Breezes all pro receiver found Dallas's bruising runner and Houston's electrifying quarterback, and Kansas City Super Bowl Mvp. And Obi. And they all let you know. We. Condemn Racism and assistant. Matic oppression of black people. National League, admit wrong and silence our players from protesting. Also. Black lives matter black lives matter. Like loves. To Have Patrick Mahomes the next superstar the NFL. Front and center. That was massive. And the very next night the commissioner uttered the words you never imagined would happen. We the National Football League Immune. We were wrong for not listening NFL players earlier. And encourage all speak out in peacefully protests. Read the National Football League believe black lives matter. Progress. Probably a step forward. You want to believe so. The day after the commissioner changed his tune, breeze went to social media again. He'd already made his hollow apologies without actually saying sorry, and he finally seemed to be listening to what some teammates had to say, and after all of that even drew brees somewhat stood up to the president. It won't Change Donald Trump of course, but maybe it will make others think. Perhaps it will create more uncomfortable conversations to allow for a greater understanding among all of us. And at the very least it has given others throughout sport. To have the freedom to finally say their piece open believing they may at last be heard. Or country is in, trouble. Basic reason is race. You're seeing an example of future. That's fighting for you for you. Right now a fine for you got a grandfather that march legs. Dr King in the sixties. And he was amazing. You'll be proud to see us all. Got Pushing? Forward Doing Casey marched with his family. Members of Detroit's organization. An NBA coach using his voice. Over in Jacksonville Jaguars personnel were among the demonstrators. North Philly's finest. He walked. Kyle Lowery's we can. Priorities were set. This though. This is just the start. To silence of countless elites spoken loud. Until you see action from an, don't forget by the leaks themselves. We wonder what the real commitment to progress actually is. What capper protests was about from. The beginning can no longer be debated. And it is now crystal clear to all of us that no athlete should just shut up and dribble. Nelson Mandela famously said. Sport has the power to change the world. Since George, Floyd perhaps we have learned that change can come more from our sporting icons using their voice platform in pursuit for justice than any jumper were swing. Or goal or touched them. Stick to sports. Sure let's stick to sports bettering the world in a new way. Let's start hearing the real message now. And most of all, let's not get the words and actions like Hafer. Knicks twisted. When he tried to begin the real conversation. Before US AGO!

"Like Chicago Bears traded Ford Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles yesterday and I'm not sure there any quarterbacks who have had a stranger career than Nick Foles everybody knows about that incredible postseason run with the eagles in twenty seventeen the rest of his resume is kind of spotty had one season where he threw twenty seven touchdowns and two interceptions the best team need to interception ratio in NFL history but that was with chip Kelly number one ship was reinventing the NFL back in twenty thirteen with the eagles he's one of a handful quarterbacks ever throw seven touchdowns in a game so he's done incredible things went toe to toe with Brady in the Superbowl but he's also had a disappointing season with the rams a backup with the chiefs disastrous contract in Jacksonville that wasn't his fault got injured in Jacksonville now he's reunited with former offense to coach Matt Nagy in Chicago so which Nicole shows up who knows and is he good enough to beat out Mitchell Trubisky all we know is falls is not scared you don't want to play against him in a big game the question is will the bears get that far where he plays in a

Jaguars trade former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles to Chicago

"Let's get started with Adam schefter on this breaking news regarding former Super Bowl. Winning quarterback Nick foles like will be reunited with Matt Nagy on his way to Chicago. What can you tell us about? Details choosy moments ago the Jacksonville Jaguars in Chicago bears agreed on a trade that will send the bears compensatory fourth round. Pick the one hundred forty eighth overall selection to Jacksonville in return for Nick Volks. Who COMES INTO CHICAGO AND KNOWS THE COACHING STAFF? Where he worked with Matt Nagy in Philadelphia he worked with. He worked with John De Filippo in Philadelphia. He wrote with Bill Laser Philadelphia. And they believe that it's going to be a source of comfort for them to get that done and that will be a big move for the Chicago bears. They felt like they had to get a veteran. The Jaguar spoke to the colts about a trade for Nick foles. The colts decided to go with Philip Rivers. They talked to the bears. The bears get done. That trade at foals is owed a lot of money. What do you know right now about how they redo this deal to make it work for everyone? Well listen. They could sit down and restructure that contract and perhaps they do that but the deal just came down as we speak and so we're waiting to see

Eli Manning and the Hall of Fame: The case for and against

"Ally manning thing announced his retirement on Wednesday retiring after sixteen seasons. He's thirty nine years old The giants quarterback who was of course supplanted by Danny dimes. This year but was a rock for for many years is now heads into retirement and it makes sense Meena In fact as a New York I all my friends are giant spans. I was on a tax change just the day before this news broke. And we're talking about that. Allies GonNA retire probably soon. Because when you look at the landscape with all these older quarterbacks on the market and what allies allies been doing the last couple of years. It never made sense that he was going to find a place to start games or perhaps he didn't want to be a backup. So this all made sense but still it. It is the end of an era in New York. I would love nothing more to come in here and defy I. I think what you all know. I'm about to say about Eli Manning I should not be wh- down calls US football cools right. Yeah I would love to say you know what guys you can't tell the story of football without Eli Manning which by the way why why is he the only person who gets that benefit say that about anyone else other than Eli. There's a lot of guys you can't tell the story of football without Aaron Hernandez put them in the hall of fame or if you want to look at pat super we were both. I mean they don't want any of them without dont`a hightower that's a holiday thing. Greg is compared. Eli Manning to know first. Ten Sahal Hyphen reductionist could be just one thing. You consider about a candidate quite well the few want ally in the holly. It's either two cases. One one is longevity. which is I think? A lot of people throw out. Because there's just too many guys who would get in by that and then the other is the two super bowls in the story thing. That's just not about how I would define it. It just becomes an argument. About how do you define the hall of fame. I think in my case against him has always been and yeah. I've been making this case for probably eight or nine years. So this is how long he's been average He's just been averaged entire career. Average in completion percentage yards per attempt. He's actually really way. Below average in the law of the interception categories passer rating these average. He's just for the time he entered the league to the time he left the league. He was an average quarterback over or that span. I I still don't like that being the conversation though when he retired. I we've had this argument so many times that I think we're just tired of it like we've said everything that there is to say about. Eli Manning in the Hall of Famer Eli Manning in general that. I actually was annoyed almost yesterday that that's the conversation when a really great player who was a big part of the league in you know no matter whether he was a top five quarterback no he never was maybe in two two thousand eleven. I went through it once. I think I had him at a top five quarterback one year top ten quarterback only one other your. Yeah that's not the hall of fame but like immediately the second he retires. The entire conversation is like the start of the public hall of fame. Talk which is GONNA be. Never any people are so confident about what's going to happen you don't I know what's going to happen becoming. We were like you know he will be in. It's like you don't know that I think the manning name like this is not a new thought but just that we've talked about royalty and stuff that he's sort of this. NFL Family fixture that. The people voting for this. I think they're gonNa Push Eli Manning right in not maybe. CBS voters down. The conversation depends on who he's against. Though you're really does. Conversation will be never ending for five years then going in. I'm sorry I don't listen you. Everybody discounts counting stats and cory will get too caught up or only point at the two rings and the two superbowl. MVP's but I just think there's something that'd be so if he didn't win those super bowls he's he's not he's not going to have him. I get that but there's something to be said and it's always been feel overlooked both on this podcast aspect in general. Because Eli can be a target. I feel like on twitter that the giants drafted him or the chargers. Technically but the giants Brought him into the team in two thousand four. They put him in the lineup in around October that year and then they never had to think about the quarterback position again for the next ten eleven eleven twelve years and I know things didn't end very well but they should have been thinking about it so when you're when you're talking about right ten years okay I'm GonNa say ten years when you think about other teams about your Brown's Mark My jets so many other teams in the league that go through constant search a churn looking for a guy and you end up with a stop. Stopgap and a rookie. You stinks and then a stop Gat and then another rookie. And maybe you hit on something. Like the SEAHAWKS got Russell Wilson. They don't have to think about anything. Russell Wilson's a better player than the but he eli for ten twelve years. They put him in there. He did his job. He was not spectacular but he was steady. You never had to worry about him getting hurt because he never did. He's the most durable the player ever. You'd never had to worry about him saying stupid something stupid to the media. He always handled that very well. You never had to worry about him. Getting into like a behind the scenes drama with with a coach and exploding and him being at odds and using the media to get a point across and all that stuff he was a Walter Payton Man of the year guy he was a total title. Good Dude and in those playoff runs. Then you factor that in for me. He rose up in historic way. And then just beat. Anybody didn't beat the Jacksonville. We'll jaguars didn't beat a Pittsburgh. steelers heat the Patriots and he'd be Bill Bell Check and he'd beat Tom Brady. And if if that's not something that should be given added points knowing who the Patriots are and what they represent in this era of NFL football. I'm sorry I disagreed to just kind of view that uh-huh yeah beat the Patriots. No he beat the greatest team of all time the greatest quarterback in the greatest head coach. I think that means a lot. His team did right playing. Okay Ah in that Super Bowl. I don't think he would say he had the best game. Even the play he's known for is crazy play. That could never be replicated. The two twenty eleven run is what I remember most fondly. Va Man. I think people kind of forget that won the last game of the regular season that they played it was against the cowboys and then the three league games in the NFC playoffs and that Super Bowl he had a collection of some of the most improbable. Low percentage awesome throws goes for five weeks. Stretch that you'll ever see Joe flacco kind of had a somewhat similar run any add little moments like that the year after they won the Super Bowl two thousand eight. He was really good throughout the year but they didn't win the Super Bowl because if eli manning they want it because of their defense I mean they wanna because of Justin Tuck and he learned of it. It's equally reductive to me to say. They won because of the argue he was part of it took to get into the. I mean the kind of connected back to the HIGHTOWER. No one's out here making a case for hightower you kind of do you. You like to throw this one in. I is the single most important outside of Brady and Gronk like the Patriots. Don't have this run of Super Bulls without dont`a hightower. I think I don't think belongs in the hall of fame but you could every all of the cases were making for. Eli You could just as easily make for like twenty other other random playwright quarterback a case you've made for you. I think is the case. Why he's a great memorable? NFL figure. It's just that's different than in. Our weather also talked about about it forever his position he was not a top ten quarterback. I would say for every year but two of his career. There's no one in the hall of fame you can say they've also said forever. You're in West. You've quoted Vince Lombardi on this that the quarterback it just the most important for a position or a position where the spotlight as and that comes with way. More pressure To it then dot high tower where his position is. I just think what you I was able to do in that spot in those two years is something you can't take away from. I and and say oh he was carried to titles. Because I don't I just don't see it that way. I think you've you stated the case very well. I think it falls shy of the hall of fame. I think if you're a jets fan like Dan or you're the browns fan and you've seen nothing but Ship wrecked chaos at the quarterback position. That the the idea that you would draft someone who would play as Eli did before a PR stunt got him benched you know. Couple of years twelve years of sixteen starts and by the way we are stunned. Got Him benched. He got himself well. That's fine but I'm saying but also the disrespect I just giants fan and you draft draft Philip rivers and he. He did what he did. But you get Eli Manning out of it and you know. He's going to win two super bowls in essentially a total ironman at the position. He's a hall of fame to a lot of giants fans I get. I don't think he belongs to the meeting. Early either reading a story just reading up on allies career. I completely forgot the whole two thousand seventeen. "Ornaments. You know when you're young like that. Everyone recognizes you. Need to grow up. Please grow up. You know there comes a you talk about accountability a lot but within that group before Devin could be the whole team heavily class right. So how much was he behind it. We can't be the wing leakier. They're counting on us. Then then you start to see people. Yeah I think yeah and with his injury and really hurt him set him back probably six weeks before he could do that you know and he still was with with them. Talking to the rookies. But when you're not playing at that level you can't talk that level you know. Now he can back it up and he'd bring it not only two rookies now. It's everybody is everybody guys the imply for this week. No no more price afternoon. You know To Mel looked a little pretty sore. you don't know what caps is yet but Again he probably played a quarter with. It didn't say anything and I wish he said something because struggling a little bit tacos bit calmness. Mister Koppel Games prior to you. Last couple of weeks missed practice on Friday. How important has it been together battle Komo huge? That's I think that's the other thing of those guys fresh all the time. Plus Carl can go inside and do damage against guards and George Strike You're so he just has versatility and being able to to have a great rotation we've got a good rotation inside guys now outside guys and Sam jumped in there and got a sack fumble. Second Health General rule. Yes it's on the one we're going we're not kicking It's very seldom. Has It happened for us but If you jumped up we're definitely going straight to the two points. Yesterday row didn't get a lot of books. Miss Lives pickup of. It's not the first time right in the season the new more than halfway through so just to to talk about the importance of that seems obvious. But if your quarterback gets blown up he could be the Z.. Yeah that was a fumble. You know that was a big. We had a game in hand and But it was something anthony had been switched way. We're going to block something because of their blitzes and He went to block the guy he used to block in. That wasn't into plan in on his. It's and he works his ass off and he's going to get better at it and We need him run on a football. But you can't run. The football can't protect the quarterback..

"I don't know it's very strange. All I know is. I'm very happy to see the Carolina Panthers Implode. Hey we might not have the first draft taken then and see south. No no told you. We'll get later be sucking down about it. Yeah no for the Carolina Panthers to fire. Fire Him now. They've given up on the season. I kind of turmoil you just can't. It's hard to come back from that it's a bag. Shakeup midseason like they fire them on a Tuesday. Aren't you starting your game plan for the next week. Like what are they doing. We shall see. I think we're going to see a lot of a lot of Christian McCaffrey because he's really the only player they've got offense anyhow and I'm GonNa say this sort of throw this out there because it thrills me to no end. Mark Cook tweeted out. Journal McCoy coach killer. And I'm not even kidding. Ralph had texted me that about two hours before Mark Cook tweeted that. Oh yeah that was. That was one of my first thoughts when Ron got fired I was like well. There's Germany Kuwait work again. This this will be German coins. Sixth coach each sixth head coach. How do you even do that? And of course everyone's GonNa be like. Let Me Cable Corp. last night can't I can. I'm going to and this is the perfect situation for him because if you notice when he went to Carolina he just absorbed the media. I mean he was immediately in front of the camera. We're constantly had that little film done of him of him driving around the campus there with the media personnel in the golf cart. And all this stuff and he's been in front of the camera nonstop with them now. Ronald Fares Gone Cam Newton's out of the picture these for now. So that leaves Gerald Al McCoy the Voice of the franchise because he's not a big camera guy so this is now careful for. It's he does this everywhere so that's going to be interesting very very entertaining. I'M GONNA love the heck out of it and it's so funny. Because the Carolina Panthers fans are the exact same way with him. The buccaneer fans were with. We'd love Gerald McCoy such a great guy. He's a good leader you know he's he's got the office sell fast copies of his mind. He's already got four sacks on the year you're just like Oh my God so so it's going to be interesting to see how that plays out and here it was. I thought you were happy to be rid of him. So we didn't have to watch him or talk about him anymore. I haven't even watched any all twenty two hundred but I have seen a few places and there was one. There was two plays that I saw where I was just like. That's typical Joe McCoy. One I think it was on a fourth down and they ran right adding pushed him out of the way and got fourth down. Yeah that was on the broadcast. I thank God I think even the the the commentators mentioned and they're like well they just put all the way for them why they said that's the biggest holding ever seen. Yes that's right But there was one and I might have even been imprisoned that I can't remember I don't think so. I think it was at the beginning of the year but the the they were on the goal line stand and the running back back roads and hits the line endure McCoy is standing there and he turned around starts walking away before the play is over in the running back bounces off the the pile and in shoots right in the gap where Gerald McCoy should have been standing but he was walking away at that point typical. So it's really. I'm I'm really going to enjoy this whole Carolina. Saga all. You Buchan ears fans listening on this podcast are going to hear about it for the rest of the year. I'm going to drop as many panthers fans face he's limited can. Oh my goodness funny. I thought he was going to a contender contender. He just blew it. I CAN'T I. T was having an aneurysm when he read Mark Cooks too. He probably a surprise bill and they're talking some stamps. I was going to tweet our response. I think the other day where he tweeted and said that sue is not as you know that sue is not vital to our run game and we could get rid of helmet are run game would be just as good. That is that is insanity at somebody who does not watch the games at all. Not just to just the Games Dhammika. Sue is a huge huge presence on our defensive line and he is excellent easy leaked at run stopping elite. So anybody that says that. They're they're halfway to being. Can we say retarded anymore. No what's the politically correct term news. I don't think there is one. We just have to say eh there. I got nothing of any. How good they in football? This has been good Book News One Panthers. Exploding that would just need the falcons to do it teetering right on the end. We thought they were coming back broken. We crush them I. And then they lost to New Orleans on Thursday night football who they play this week. I think they're the ones that play Carolina they don't quote me Atlanta there was one team in the NFC south that had five division games in a row. And I think it was Lena China. PSA plane the Falcons. Carolina's playing the Falcons. That's that's GonNa be also if this coach collapse APPs is contagious. Isn't that city in that. Carolina plays Atlanta. Well if Atlanta does not implode this week. They're definitely going to implode they play us. Dan Quayle be fired before he leaves rich. Probably but this game is at the home and they have had a small tune in attendance. So we'll see that's gotta be tough for an owner you know you're you're like you spend all this money and effort trying to build a team and you you pay attention to attendance and then you go. How can we get people in the seats right? That's always a big question. How can we get people in the seats? So what do you do you think you. You Know Kinda like Dan Snyder us to do just can't big names. Free agents just gives many free agents as you can come in and people will be like. Hey I wanna go see these guys play so. It's really hard hard. I mean what do you do I mean. Of course they all want to build a winning teams. I assume but besides that how do you get people come Dona. I think it's something. The panthers the Falcons how things are going to be dealing with for a long time. Balkan ears turning the corner. I think we're going to be a very winning team for years to come. We're GONNA start filling up our stadiums. Of course I wish that we filled the stadiums. Even when we weren't winning but such is life vows dictator. I make everybody goes to the game every required. That'd be this part of your citizenship. You like a back in the air tax into Denver so much it was like civil service in Israel. Well that's going to wrap it up for me. We've got the Bruce Arians press conference at the end of the podcast here. If you want to check that out getting the Molly Factor Panthers. Ah That's why married you all right. That's going to do it for US till next time. Looks a lot of that I mean. Is there a mentality and coached is something that. Yeah it's it's it's it's coached. I mean we we work on it. Constantly turning a corner turned the corner. Where's the ball is? It appears that down there and finding the ball but don't miss the tackle and stay where we have slipped off. Time's gone for sack. Fumbles When we should have just got the sack you know at the if you're not seeing the ball then you should just tackling the guy and But yet something that's both you have to have the skill to do it. But it's also coached team was built.

"I mean they got as soon as you grabbed him he going to the ball. You don't care. We had no first downs on four drives in the fourth quarter. Didn't really need on my manage. The clock at that time at that point. Four of their twelve drives. Where three and outs? Wow yeah mom. We did a good job with the. They had four saks. We had five or longest place. Thirty two yards. There's thirty nine. We had six plays over twenty yards. They had three again. JP was just. He was the man in this game he was just he was destroyed. It was doing a good job. He was all over. The place caused a lot of chaos and disturbance D. because they were focusing on Vida Su Shaq Barrett or Arnaud beaten US guys wandering one. He was just playing with a lot of energy. They did a really good job there. Their front did with holding Vian sue dramatic. It was the most most impressive. I've seen an offensive line against those two yet. I think I had one play. That's a that's incredible hill. Yeah and he hasn't played he hasn't had just one replace since the start last year Donald Smith OJ Howard and Jones worthy worst players on the field as far as blocking or concern and I would just random five hundred three horrible but they were the worst for everybody else did pretty good. I have no idea. Kappa was injured so they pull. Oh Him in the second half all second. I heard what for his name but they have put him in those jumbos and before so I thought put Josh Wells then. When they did the job he he had a great play? Man I think it was fifty four. Donald Payne came in and Josh Wells hit Hill Hill Pancake. Him just took him to open up a big old hole. I think it was painting more rigid getting seven yards. But yeah he I mean he just laid that good whitehead thirty one he was was great. He'd be played all he was all over the place. I'm glad to hear that because I feel like he's kind of been a non factor in the last few game the Blitstein quite a bit in this game two One time he came rushing in and they're right guard I think it was. Aj Kant just he. He pulled scraped back in and caught thirty. One I'm coming in declared him but thirty one bounced right back up chase after the ball. The press got slammed but he likes that contact that gives them more energy Um but that's about it. You know. It was a good game to be honest with you. I didn't see as dominant of performance by the buccaneers as I thought I was GONNA see did. The teams were kind of matched evenly. We just we played harder with more energy and we wanted to win more. So would you say we won the game or they waas not say we won. We had we had a lot of good plays that they just couldn't I mean they couldn't overcome that twenty four zip deficit at the beginning. The first half. Here's his is way too insurmountable for and none of that stuff was like fluke plays either. That was US making plays right for secondary's a little suspect. They seem confused back there a a couple of times we caught em but our secondary was just spot on. Let me just fantastic. It's been what two games in a row. Now where they'd just played lights out a love that I love of them. Well I think it's important that we see progress. Fans were defeated kind of towards the middle of the season or on this lose. Cherie St James's Winston looks like crowd and people are talking about tanking for draft picks that point and so i. I think it was really important for the team to show us that. They haven't quit. Not Quitting for each other is more important in. I'll be a it shows to me that they bought in and that is clicking more for them the fans and the media both in the media really surprised me with this after that Seattle game everybody Kinda turn positive towards the bucks and it really surprised me with the media. Did Not expect that from him but I think everybody saw that what you know. We went into Seattle in their place was very tough place to play. Took them in overtime. Stood toe to toe with them And I think the media realize hey there's something really special going on here and I think the fans Wednesday to really surprised me with immediate with that part though because remember same thing happened in two thousand twelve Gregg Giannotti. We went to Seattle went toe to toe with them lost in overtime in the media. Just crap all over but now they hated Gregg Giannotti. So they're gonNA crap on him no matter what he did right but I. I think everybody can see that. There's really something special about at this team and we all felt it coming into the season. I was a little disappointed with all the losses because I thought were better than this wire the plain to see giants game or two games where you were just really like what should have won those and that Second Carolina game where we just got trout fellas really really to me that was one of the more demoralizing ones speaking of which let's good segue there. The reds reds games broke the Carolina. Panthers you'll lose to the redskins you get your head coach fired if you're not aware like the redskins fired their coach. Then they get Ron Rivera fire of cloud. We don't have to play anywhere. There's a lot of contagious stuff in. DC I can tell you Robert was fired today. There's rave coming except us. I thought he'd be fired by the season. I'm I share. Wait we're GONNA have to go back and look at our predictions but we both said Cam. Newton wouldn't make it through the year because of injury. Or did we say you get benched store balance and I think you said Rivera was going to get fired at the end of the year and I said he might get another year or something like that but the Louis and scape has changed. NFC South used to be the most competitive division in NFL for the past decade. I mean we've had every single one of our teams other than us has gone to the Super Bowl of course two of them lost in humiliating fashion and now Matt Ryan's might not make it in Atlanta. I think they're going to do a house cleaning. They're really surprises me. The most that job could be in question. Yeah I didn't expect that he's played really bad. I think it was last week. I mean the defense stepped up. Gave them an opportunity to win and Matt Ryan just crap the bed. Ronda hair's gone. Dan Queens probably going to be gone. I take this is the last year of NFL as we know it. You GotTa look alike. Manning gone Tom Brady might be gone from New England into this year right. He's a free agent. We'll see what happens there. Philip rivers is not playing great they might Bent Chan Dan rivers. Yeah Matt Ryan Inderla Gone Matt Ryan Might Be Gone Cam Newton. That's up an air but I think it is he going to be a free agent. Now there's supposed to get like eighteen million next year so that they're going to have a serious choice minimum. He's gone from Carolina he'll be out of the League but who knows some idiot team will pick him up. It was just a lot of big changes happening in. NFL especially at the quarterback exposition. All these old timers are going away. They drew brees is really the only ones doing well. But the old timers you got all righty. I mean he's the oil well. Their team is doing well. Me The pins. I mean they were doing well against crappy teams but now that they're having to play decent opponents inconsolable. They're probably going to the playoffs playoffs. Like eight and whatever their clothes. Oh you gotTa Win and record in the AFC. You're going to go to Andy Dalton. Yeah well he's back with momentarily. It's just a it's a dog new age and there's a large possibility. The buccaneers is GonNa be on top of that wave. Yeah can't we have Jameis Winston who. He's got his ups and downs. But he is when all those quarterbacks leave he's GonNa be a veteran fifth year. You're next year will be six. which I'm thinking we'll project GONNA franchise? They would be the best thing for everybody all we we got assigned Shaq Barrett. I it that's going to be a tough one because baird is going to want to test free agency and if we can get an agreement with that we can at least match. Whatever he's offered that'd be fine but I don't want it to turn into another Michael Bennett situation where he says? Yeah I'll let you match it. In-in doesn't just pieces yet. You know you know the front. The office of one BUC place has been trying to get him signed to an extension since nothin happened yet. That's a good indication that you know his home and his agent which is St Rosenhaus Rosenhaus. He's a he's a bloodsucker. They want to get as much money as they can. So they're going to test out free agency and you know there's nothing we can do that. We let you know. We can't stop stopping for going. So he's GonNa cost a pretty penny to keep but we gotta keep him in. We gotTA keep it. We can't let him go. What about J. P. Bill? I'd like to keep him to but I don't know if we're GONNA OH keep everybody. There's actually no we're not GONNA be able to keep everybody right. We got peyton Barbara Barbara. JP Janus Barrett Nasu Sube. Isn't he coming up. I don't remember about NASA but Chris Godwin because of his performance. This season he's going from. I am seven hundred sixty eight thousand in two thousand twenty two an estimated two point. One four million per Gregg allman. That's all he's getting paid. Now that's crazy I I have to say. NFL's PP proven performance escalator. Never heard of that before must be in the news so he's eligible for an extension after the season. Then we need to keep him. I'll tell you what we got a lot of a lot of stuff but our offseason was going to be nothing. Compared to the Carolina Panthers off season in Atlanta factors barreling rallying. Oh man we're going to be on top of this division for a long time Roy. Rivera's fired as head coach of the panthers. He had nine years. Here's is the head coach. Three winning seasons. What's yes it's crazy? Incredible I had no idea what to the playoffs. Four Times one of them with Louisiana losing record on your incredible incredible. I mean there's the same record as we are right now. They're five and seven. Yeah Yeah Yeah. His record with the panthers has been seventy six sixty three and one. But it's a little skewed because the three years that they did have winning records they won over eleven games so I think when they went to the super bowl they were fifteen and one that really skewed the numbers are panthers fans. You know. I've been following them all day. Just the athletes feeding tears. Actually they all are extremely okay with say it's like they've all been wanting it like you. Now he's a great coach. He's done great forest but it's time to move on. He's just not that they're saying he's not doing in. Game adjustments not good management He's gotten conservative again. Remember Rohingya Riverboat. Ron Apparently that was like three years ago. And he hasn't been riverboat round for a long time because he's been on the hot seat norv Turner there. He's their offense coordinator he got. I don't know if this is a demotion or a promotion but he's not offense coordinator anymore. He is now the special assistant to the head coach that that is very very strange to me. It's actually surprised me that he didn't get the interim head coach job. A Perry fueled did who was their secondary coach. So why I me. Nor Turner has been a head coach before he's been in office coordinator for ever. He's a really good offense coordinator that's always good and he's not good at head coach and he's a horrible head coach. Maybe that's why they didn't put him as head coach but why would they take him out of offense coordinator position now. He's basically just fire him too. I mean he's a special assistant. The head coach. What could they created a job for him? I guess liking he's consulting the interim head coach. Maybe because he's been a head coach before but they had to call him a special assistant assistant..

"Observer. podcast Phillips December first two thousand nineteen. We got a Christmas present in early win against the Jags beatdown against convincing win. Yeah you thought they might have a chance starting in the third quarter and they tain Gardner Men's shoe and he does have kind of an energy about him but it wasn't enough to scores eleven points. We held them to well three okay. Does it count. If he gets into point conversion as a score I guess but you don't you don't count extra point though in in any case eleven points eleven points all garnered in the when. When do they get their first field? Goal third quarter. Yeah we were up twenty five zip with is one of three left in the second chord. Twenty five that's a long biggest we had all year. Thank yeah and they did hold us to three points in the second half well the old box would have given up leave right. The offense really needed score any more points. The defense just needed to hold them and keep them from scoring points. This is is the new bucks we win Games. We should win beat up on bad teams the Jacksonville. Jaguars came into this game with the same record we did. But I heard there on a four game family streak makes it five now. I think this includes tonight fun. Game to watch all kinds of good stuff and beat Vale. End Up in the fall back. Position Block for Peyton. Barber for a touchdown have lot of interceptions. Fumbles sacks turnovers Devon. Wyatt had a touch had a he had a good game. was that a picnics picnics. What was the touchdowns that on fumble picked it up and then also had a fumble recovery? It wasn't a touchdown. But he's got what three fumble recoveries on the season. Two of them are for touchdowns at least that's what I recall. Yeah three fumble recoveries touchdowns gave me mad about that now. He's all is a really good football day book near Fans who congratulations. You showed up to Jacksonville. It was nice to see more Tampa. The fans in the stands and Jacksonville fans at least look like more. The rate stood out more. We turn out not only. Did we win today. Carolina last redskins. Yeah that puts us at second in the Division Division. Say we're fighting New Orleans for the division title. What to do they're yeah? I don't think I'm I'm pretty sure we have to have Minnesota lose out and we gotta win out if that happens. We're into blow but that depends on Minnesota losing that. I'm pretty sure they have to lose out once they if they win a game and we're a think do they play against tonight Seattle. Clark yeah so this is is important to us. That's what's fun about this time of year is when you're in the playoff hunt other games manner to you just for fantasy football purposes exactly. We had a little more mistakes than I would have liked. He didn't have any touchdowns but he also didn't throw an interception so that's a big one right there. He was sacked four four times but there there were a few times when he fumbled. He had the one fumble two fumbles one fumble and we lost it but there was one point one sack doc I think where he was scrambling and Roggio ran into him. I saw you pointed it out to a couple of sacks I saw was the offensive. John was the running back to Howard missing blocks so I look at that on tape see. How many of those sacks off at alarm Jay Howard had a good game today day in sixty one yards on five receptions? Isn't the Jacksonville the sack leaders in the league. Something like that. Now they're sevent- they're tied for seven to the browns actually but here's would electives. Game slid away. Even though we haven't twenty lead and I can tell the narrators narrators commentator. I I actually said that you can feel the momentum shift in the stadium and I was like yeah. It's a bunch of Buckner fans and they're all thinking. Oh here we go again. WE'RE GONNA lose kidding with. I never felt threatened in this game at all. I did a little bit. I felt like they were picking up momentum. There was a big reception by Charq Day. Drive forever down the field but they only came away with three so gardner. Men's shoe definitely has a different energy about him. The benched Nick foles. I think we broke nick foles. I think we broke Matt Ryan and I know we broke Cam. Newton and Julio Jones Julio Jones. He was out with a shoulder injury this this week that a sustained against ears defense played well today interesting stat. I saw last week. I haven't researched it to see where we're at now or even if it was true but we have not allowed a third and seven or longer play this year and we didn't in this game from what I can tell when I remember I was sitting there right on down uh-huh every time it was third and seven longer. We stopped them penalty yards. Books had eight for forty four yards Jacksonville double debt. They had sixteen but they tripled it for yardage at one hundred twenty-five crazy not allowed to give up y'all or not a good football team. You just throw that out there now. L. Dj Charq in my fantasy football. God's punishing moving ever played against the buccaneers. We Beano in time of possession. We had the ball thirty three minutes. They had twenty six minutes. Turnovers four to one. That was incredible. Did you see beyond that special teams play. They showed it on the broadcast they had Ryan Smith tripled beating the crap out of him on special teams. Don't go he is so whoa. I have never seen that before where they put three guys on one player to try and block you. And that's the return that they had. That was a good return because they were able to hold old. We really good special teams. Plays like when we were on our goal line basically in the offense later in the game and they held us to three now and we had to punt the ball basically from our end zone Bradley opinion punit it and it was a good punt and then they got a block in the back penalty. I think and back them up it was like they have started on the thirty yard line whereas before they probably would have expected that they had really good field position. Especially when we're putting from our the end zone that sucks Maldin leave the game with an injury. Hope he's okay. You know. I think the next play. They made a completion on Ryan Smith for for a chunk of yardage it might have been fifteen yards but we blew rumor veto blocking on offense. I love that I love seeing him on offense and and you brought this up that this week media were what you notice from the locker room interviews. Just everyone loves him in the Locker Room. He's like a favorite. Yeah that's what I've heard is that he's like last week. They don't bucks fan under podcasts. And we're talking about in the locker love the last week. That's all anybody in the locker room wanted to talk talk about. VW's touchdown just beaming from year to year cool and you know defenders have to be shitting themselves when they see him. Lineup offense. Yeah he drove that one and I think he drove straight backwards. I love the creativity. The trickery can't believe I can't believe a call at the beginning of the year. It's going to be a little bit better. When Gardner mid shoe came in you could just tell? Their whole team changed quite a bit. He's such more dynamic player but he's also more GONNA make a lot more mistakes he had at least two. Maybe three intentional. Grounding calls at work called one day which I was happy about but then there was a couple of others that were just completely blatant like man you know. I hate those intentional grounding calls. Sometimes I called some. Does he know we would add eight sacks. Yeah it'd be nine if they would've intentionally grounded. The ball and Nevada David called for that. Pass interference on fourth and goal as incidental. Omeday I mean what could they do. He's run he's following the guy. The guy stops and runs in the hill. Do Bullshit call and that sucks to because he was on that streak of penalties twenty seventeen. Oh that's right. Got About Oh man. Ref crew was a lot Anderson. They seem like they did an okay delve other than that yeah. I didn't really notice any blatant issues. He's the eagles lost to Miami. Tends to have the same record that they do. I think finding seven we're out in division with the Eagles. Those are in the conference with the Eagles in the panthers. All three of us are five and seven. The bears are at six and six cowboys are at six and six. The Rams are six six five zero plan now and then from there you jump up to eight and three of the Vikings bitings of the ones where they have to lose out. They are the last of the wildcard. Right yeah right right. Now it's forty niners saints packers cowboys sacred. I come in here for another saints. Packers cowboys than the Vikings seahawks those the ones in the playoffs. Brad now deceased and read now three weeks ago we were joking about US ducking it's now it's a serious everybody's talking about it. We can do it. I mean it's a long shot but we can do it. We got a good team. It's one game to watch coach. That's what's important very entertaining. It was for Jacksonville fans. I'm sure but there were a few times when we could have given up the lead when not give up the lead but give give them a chance. Yeah that was one of the most impressive things about this game to me as we pretty much kept our foot on their throat so game. We didn't screw up and start vomiting allowing points to him and stuff. Yeah James only cost the ball up one no interceptions. It was just that fumble did it but it was ruled incomplete after the challenge. Yeah definitely hit the Ground Jones. Yeah we challenged challenge. It's turnover maybe. That was a different one. We will have have the Bruce Arians press conference at the end of the podcast here. If you're GONNA stay and listen to that. I'm sure he's going to be in a good mood. I haven't heard it yet. It'd be ready to get his drink on. He's probably got a couple elaine him already good win guest a bad team but we dominated like we should. I thought I run. Game would be more dynamic but we really didn't need to to do our best. Receivers were not at the top of the Bourne Permanent Howard. Yeah paramount and Howard today and then my Gavin's both had four receptions each fifty yards. It'd be three for my Godwin but look Evans was targeted. Eleven times in the only four. You're yeah for sure. Five of six for eighty seven.

"Tuck heads dot com. Asap 'cause you are exactly the kind of guy. I want to add to the mix over there. Here's the here's the Email Bri. Ross. I know you have somebody who keeps track of your picks on the even money podcast. So by the way, that's not only the bird man Todd Bergman, but it's also one of the tuck heads does it and has his own numbers. He runs Sean Grady from Australia. So he's going to end up coming on even money podcast at some point. And by the way, some of you still don't know what tuck heads is so tuck heads, I'll just say quick is a it's a forum. It's a message board online community in which only listeners because I only talk about it here on the podcast only listeners come and we all just interact chat with each other. You chime in as much or as little as you want some people like Jason Montgomery and David Merlene. Oh, are prolific other people just chime in every once in a while. But they get a chance to read a lot of it for me. I just love the interaction and being able to chat with some of my listeners people to actually talk with. Listeners pretty awesome. So here's what he said. Just in case, you don't have a similar tracker for your NFL power rankings. Here's a link to what I've recorded over the weeks. So he went through and recorded where each team was every week. Right. So where they started. And then where they finished. It's really pretty awesome. And so, you know, any has you know, when they have a big jump over a couple week period or whatever he notes that as well. But here are the big takeaways that I found interesting, and I think you guys would find interesting as well. Here are his awards. He said just for funsies, Kevin, please don't say funds ease again. But that's okay. But please don't say funds easy, anyway, a few awards based on these rankings surprised. Team of the year. This was a tie between the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts who both Bri. Finished twenty one spots above where I had him before the season started Twenty-one spots above. The bears and the colts. Then you've got the disappointment of the year. That was the Jacksonville Jaguars. They dropped twenty one spots from their preseason rank. So kind of interesting Bri that the greatest increase was Twenty-one spots a tie between the Chicago Bears and the apples colts the greatest decrease was the Jacksonville Jaguars who dropped twenty one points, which by Twenty-one spots. Which by the way is good. Because people always say to you say to me, I go on these radio stations around the country. And it's like Ross who was the biggest disappointing team this year in your mind Ross who was the biggest surprise team. Well, now, I know now I know the answers to that bears colts surprise team Jags disappointing team as for consistent team of the year. This award goes to the team they had the smallest number of rank changes over the course of the season. And that award goes to the ramps who stayed in the top five all season Rams were top five all season and only had eleven places worth of rank changes all season long. So that's kind of crazy. They only move the Levin spots, you know, up one down one whatever all season long that is pretty crazy. Then he has the greased pig of the year. In contrast, the team you just couldn't get a handle on with your rankings, the runner up was Tennessee, which changed a total of sixty places in my power rankings this season up down up down the. The winner though is the Baltimore Ravens. They had sixty three changes or a change of nearly four places one way or the other each week 'cause I think they were in the middle, and they went up then they came back way down then when they put Lamar Jackson. They went way back up. You know, you guys really high on them. So that's kind of funny that you know, the that the ravens change more than any team the whole year, then he's got the dentist..

"And also the NFL draft Zach actually getting senior bowl credentials this year. So we'll talk about that Zach but welcome to Finsider radio. Thank you for joining us here on this preview episode for one of the most exciting matchups in the NFL this weekend. I really appreciate you having me on I feel like this pod is going to be a lot more entertaining than the three hours. We're gonna spend watching the game on Sunday. Yes. So the over under right now for the Jaguars verse dolphin stands at thirty eight dolphins coming out with a seven seven record the Jaguars coming with the four and ten record. But we know both. Offenses. No, no greatest show on turf on this Erade stuff. It is probably you know, some of the worst offense you could possibly see an interesting enough. Adam gaze of as we all know as we've all talked on this show ofensive group, but not so much here with the Miami Dolphins both teams ranked towards the bottom of leagues in all categories. Cody Kessler your quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars Leonard for net. Dede Westbrook actually coming along pretty nicely though with Kessler at the helm as we head into this game. Can you just talk to us mainly about the Jacksonville offense where does the offense the and right now what kind of threat do they pose if any what can we expect from Leonard four net? We know he's kind of dropped off this season with injuries and production and and on and off the field. What's the general sense? We can get from the Jaguars offense or when they go. Dolphins defense. Are they going to light it up? I'm just struggling trying to think of like a weapon that they even have because if they had one I'm sure they'd tried use it, but the offense has been pretty anemic throughout the entire season. Other than the first couple of games of the year where they had things rolling their way. But Dede Westbrook. I mean, he's been playing mainly slot. But occasionally splits out wide, he's turned into probably one of the best separating route runners in the entire league really really fast people thought he'd coming and be deep threat, but they really polished him up in the short game. And honestly, I think that's Cody Kessler best friend 'cause I think he threw it past ten yards last week more than I think he did it twice. So that's just kind of his thing that he tries to keep things in the short game and try and create yards after the catch. And it doesn't help that the Jaguars left tackle, I believe is there on their fourth starter their second or third starter at left guard. Second starter at center, and then the two guys that actually are still starting on the line that we're the start the start of the year just really suck. So all in all it's been really really bad for this Jaguars offense injuries have heard quarterback play hurt at the end of the day. You know, everything right now is hurting this offense that the ender bet the under the under this upcoming weekend. Sack. Thanks for joining us. I know Jacksonville doesn't have chance of the playoffs. All call the dolphins. Chances a Wylie Coyote chance. Have the over under of thirty eight. But what we're all forgetting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were real soft this year in their scheduled and schedule anybody from the state of Florida. So this defacto game between the Jacksonville Jaguars. And the Miami Dolphins is the battle for Florida. So everyone running into this game. But now, let's let's address the elephant in the room. Should the dolphins Jaguars? Just go ahead and have a coup may for a two quarterback. Because that's essentially what we're looking at. And have you had a chance to look at this quarterback class yet who do you like so far I have? And I think probably the most ready to play out the gate is Dwayne Haskins. And that's like weird to say considering this his first full year as starter a redshirt sophomore. Granted he is twenty one he's going to be turning twenty to believe the week after the draft. So he's a little older for kit. Seraing what class he's in?.

"Chicago is going to be a top five defense when all is said and done because they came into the season eating and edge rusher. And now they got one it Khalil Mack. How about if I told you this about if I told you the group of linebackers in their three, four, okay. Are as good or could be as good as the eighty-five bear group linebackers. Although they ran a four, three because of the speed, the power athleticism they have across the board. When you look at Khalil, you'd look at Denny's pervasive, you look at roquan Smith. You look at Leonard Floyd. You look at quick Kalki. They have guys all different types of body types. Smart football players will absolutely rip your head off. You got guys who can rush the passer were power. You got guys who've rush the passer with finance. You got. Inside linebackers that can cover backs, tight ends and blow you roquan Smith. I watched it. You know what everybody should do. Everybody should have the privilege of being able to stand out on the field in today's NFL and watch the speed and power. Some of these guys, the collisions I thought I was very physical player and played in day and age where there was some of the greatest of all time. The guys quite honestly, Stephen, they right now are bigger and faster, more explosive. Bears the bears got a bunch of those guys on defense at linebacker. Louis Riddick NFL analyst is short, and they're right here with Steven. A. on ESPN radio and ESPN news, how come you didn't mention Todd wash defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars. You know, I don't know very much about Todd. I like some of these other coordinators I've talked about. I know who Paul Gunter is. I know how he likes to coach. I have studied Vic Fangio and I know the principles that he runs. I'm very, very familiar with and I've talked to people who know him. I don't know, Todd wash, but I do know, look, they play a style down there. Very aggressive style that I like an give him his respect. I just like when I when I'm gonna go out on a limb like that on somebody when you asked me who the best is amusing going to defer to the people who I had no, and how they teach them what I believe. That's why I went so hard on patent. Let's go to some of these games. They can play Sunday New England playing Miami in Foxborough, New England's one or two. They've lost to straighten this must win for them. It's it's a, we need to win. No doubt Bill will be the first one to tell you. No playoff spots are going to be clinched here at the end of September. Beginning of October, but it is important that they start to get some wins because I don't care how much they have one in the past. Losing breeds Br. Losing breeds a point in time. We're then you start to lose your confidence in question yourself a little bit. I don't care how much you have one and it'll make people start questioning things, and you don't want. You won't have to fight against that as a coach. So it's very important that they win this game, and it's very important that they win it in a way that is not one of those where it comes down to the end of the game and kicks field goal, Tampa, Bay's plan, Chicago, you plan, right Fitzpatrick this game the James win. I'm leaving Ryan in there because the players want him in there, especially the skill position players on offense. They've been vouching for when Sean Jackson in guys like Mike Evans, we're saying, hey, fourteen needs is still play. They're telling you something is that support for Ryan Fitzpatrick on indictment against James Winston, it may be a little bit of both and may be direct support for Ryan and kind of a subliminal message to coaching staff that, hey, maybe the other guy we maybe we still, we don't want to really deal with that right now. I think it's a little bit of both too many injuries in Atlanta's defense, or is it about their high powered office with Matt Ryan with Coleman and Freeman went Calvin, ridley's ascension as. Rookie with the new and Julio Jones. This high powered offense..

"Most part without Leonard fournette, how did this offense band together and enable be able to pull this out? We just, you know, obviously, you know, Leonard had a little tweaking. It'll be the biggest. Biggest thing is that depend on each other. I think we we practice so hard, and we have we have grueling camp and all that other stuff. So we can depend on each other. We have moments like this and all. Really do have a true belief that the next man will make a play for us. How fulfilling is it to go on the road for the season opener against a team that had such high expectations making its debut under its new head coach, and you just took the life out of the building. I don't care what their expectations are. I don't care what they have to say. I don't care how excited they are for their. It's all right here. I think that's the certainly the best way to approach. It has a field of you mentioned to be in that new home. But the first game back is we're used to be you know, you have any flashbacks there. Oh, yeah. I had a flashback early when I kinda touchdown. They call that shit back. Oh, yeah. Austin thanks so much for a couple of greatly appreciated and good luck. The rest of the way, especially with this new team, you're off and running nicely. Hey, thanks for having me. I really appreciate it and see next time absolutely nonsensical. Jerry Jenkins of the Jacksonville Jaguars. And. So far off to a very good start as they take the life out of MetLife stadium today with a twenty two fifteen win over the giants and Austin safari and Jenkins three receptions for twenty five yards in his first game. Blake Bortles eighteen of thirty three one hundred seventy six yards passing. And you know, even without Leonard fournette they had a strong day as TJ Yeldan came in and was a weapon out of the backfield. Fifty one yards rushing on the day. Dede Westbrook had five or sections for fifty one yards as Austin severity Jenkins. But a good total team effort the Browns regained control of the football. And with thirty six seconds left. They are driving in the pouring rain trying to pull it out as they are tied with the Steelers at twenty one. It was Joe shelbert turnover as he picked up the ball loose ball. And it puts the Browns in position potentially to win this one the doll. On top of the titans in the third quarter seven two three while the chiefs lead the charges fourteen to six and the Broncos and Seahawks. Even at seven no score between the Cowboys and Panthers Redskins and cardinals are scoreless late. First quarter will keep you up to date on all of it right here. An eye on football. Z eye on football on CBS sports radio. I didn't wanna talk. She just said with me. We got one day he called me out of the blue. And it's comforting to know that our listen county him to have my back. "Are the jacksonville jaguars for real that is the truth and it's not just that defense that creates turnovers that is fast from sidelined to sideline and it's not a difference that could just get after the quarterback and do a good job stopping what you do well it's not just that it's a bunch of young talent who don't know what they don't know and don't care that they don't know because whatever the hell is happening jacksonville before jaylen ramsey and miles jack and and got way and klay as campbell and pause lesnie and we can go on and on aj boy a book before all those guys showed up before leonard fornet showed up they don't care they're gonna hit you in the mouth they're going to comebacker block you like tj and did on our blake portals run they're going to make some place and they're going to come in your house and they're gonna hit you in your mouth and they're going to tell you not today and they did it to pittsburgh all gin and i'll give you two words as well of who bowled out of who was terrific when it was most needed yesterday in pittsburgh blake bortles i took a shot at i'm like everybody else for the low hanging fruit to kick off nfl game day morning on saturday morning k um where our show started with all our analysts giving you what the story line is for the weekend and mike uh and michael irvin pointed out he thought the story line for divisional playoff weekend were alltime great quarterbacks league quarterbacks going against guys who have never done it before and said that the new blood at quarterback in khiam enfolds and mario wta and bortles against breeze and brady in ryan and big band and who would prevail and he finished up that sentence by saying in the port part about the new blooded shows you that the quarterbacks in this league the young quarterbacks in this league are showing you that the quarterback position is in good hands.

"The jacksonville jaguars and pittsburgh steelers now this is the two against the three seat in the afc steelers coming off that by week thirteen wins on the season and they ended hot jacksonville while they won against buffalo at home it was a struggle no doubt a defensive game a ten threegame and you realize the jaguars can be offense of li challenge but the things hanging over everybody's head when they think about this game is that these teams met earlier this year the jaguars picked off ben roethlisberger fivetimes and they won in pittsburgh thirty two nine boom fig about this and strapping ben roethlisberger back in two thousand for the steelers have a home losingrecord against two teams in the nfl including the playoffs as well as the regular season those two teams happen to be the patriots there two and five since when robbers burger got there and the other team well that would be the jaguars one and four and boy i'm telling you the jaguar defense made a really difficult for ben roethlisberger i think goes week five of the nfl season he was the moralise the after the game and i can understand why and this is going to be one of these teams that's going to come in just like the philadelphia eagles against the atlanta falcons the jacksonville jaguars they're going to have a chip on their shoulders because a lot of people cannot believe that they can go in and beat the pittsburgh steelers now i am not one of those people this defence of the jacksonville jaguars has been assaulting people all year long they've been one of the best units in all the football now the way that you have to go after them is you up the run the balls while i expect a very very heavy dose of levy on belt early in this game i think this could be a lot of between the tackle runs on the jaguars are so bent on getting to the quarterback that they take the cells out of position on the defensive line so look for draws in screens things that the steelers do exceptionally well and i would imagine at the end of the.

"The jacksonville jaguars it here's what i'm saying to you boomer and i'm saying it loud and i'm saying it proud at least for the folks down in jacksonville right this second the jacksonville jaguars are in first place trying to win their first division titles since 1999 their nine nine four yeah i think though in this game as well does matter who's playing quarterback for used but like borders last two weeks has played a really really while he outplayed russell wilson last week russel threw three interceptions gets his defense and russell isn't the only one who through all those interceptions against his defense remember bat a few weeks back it was pittsburgh's ben roethlisberger who threw five interceptions it's a relentless defensive of front that gets all off the after the opposing quarterback it's ball hawking defensive backs and it's linebackers that get to the point of attack pretty quickly i liked the jacksonville jaguars in his game by at least ten points maybe even more and let's see a blake bortles can continue his fine play the last two weeks is played really well so they're not winning in spite of him they are now winning because of him the tennessee titans or they are on a slippery slope right now they lost arizona last week to lose the top spot in the division in now at eight and five they go to santa clarita take on a forty diners teammates won backtoback games san francisco at three and ten right now and will you wanna talk about dangerous this is a very dangerous game for the titans and why is a dangerous because of one jimmy garoppolo he's undefeated as a starting quarterback in the nfl for both the new england patriots a now the san francisco forty nine of san francisco just looks different with jimmy as quarterback tennessee is actually a underdog in this game think about that you're going against the three intend team whose at are horrendous season and now all of a sudden tennessee who's fighting for their playoff lives coming off of a really poor performance at.
